Jason and his crew have been cranking out incredible bakery, breakfasts, and coffee since before 2016 when I lived just around the corner. A beast. They pump out a lot of product fast on Sunday mornings and I respect their game as the food I had was incredible. I ordered their churro croissant, pastel de nata and cappuccino. Incredibly interesting combinations of flavors and textures that really make this restaurant special and not just another small plates restaurant. I was alone and therefore was limited as to what I could consume by myself, so I went with the three dishes I had heard the most about: the shrimp cake, the soft scrambled egg, the charred cabbage, and the banana pudding. I loved all three that if I were to go back again, it would be hard not to do the same order over! I would have NEVER thought to combine beurre blanc with shrimp, but that flavor combination on the shrimp cake was out of this world. You can add avocado for an additional fee. This was a hefty, filling sandwich that I thought was one of the better contenders in this price range. Biscuits and gravy - one for $9, two for $16. My partner chose the latter. The biscuits were the traditional southern sort, a little crumbly and not designed to be the star of the show but still good. He was impressed with the gravy and said it really stood out compared to others he's tried. They do add tomatoes on top which was a nice surprise, it cuts through the heaviness of the meal really well and is something I'll probably be incorporating next time I make this at home. The egg comes over easy by default but you can request other types instead. The latte was rosemary and vanilla, a made in house syrup that wasn't overpowering and made for a really nice drink with the meal. My partner got a drip coffee he described as okay. The water is self serve at the end of the bar. Now for those who have been to The Nosh/ery: The seating is so much better now, they've added bar seating and have redesigned the layout so it's much less crowded all around. Additionally, the food came out quickly & there was no backup for coffee. Overall I felt they fixed a lot of the hiccups that this location previously had because of their redesign.

The potato sfoglie and chimichurri were so, so good. I had the Thai Green Curry Mussels and while I would absolutely have them again, someone needs to add a disclaimer that sometimes the kitchen has a little too much fun with the Fresno chilis. The mussel broth was to die for and I felt like I almost did die with how much heat those chilis packed! It was one of those situations where your eyes and nose are watering from the spice but the taste is so amazing you just power through. I love myself a lot of heat, but I definitely wasn't prepared for this dish! I drank so much water with the broth that my tummy was sloshing all the way through Union Station back to the train. He stated it would be another 30 -45 min and was walking us back to the bar and it was a little embarrassing to be honest. He miraculously found a patio table with a minute or two, so not sure what happened there. Please note, thiw timy table barely fit our 2 plates, and two cocktails. It was a table meant to put flowers on, not to dine on. We sat down and waited another 15 min just for someone to get us water and greet us at the table. Every server just kept walking by without saying a word. Not even an "I'll be right with you. The server finally greeted us and took our order. We ordered the seafood paella and immediately he stated "its going good to be a long wait for the seafood paella." I said that was okay and placed the order. Well, here's how they get you... while youre waiting for your "entree," you will inevitably order more over priced tapas and drinks. Nonetheless, we ordered more tapas and rink refills. The portion size for the "2 person" paella was more like a regular size portion. The pan had a very thin layer of rice and safron and was very unappealing and underwhelming. Clams and mussels were still partially closed, fish was super dry, the smaller "salad shrimp" were drenched in lemon juice. It felt like everything was cooked separately. That is not how you cook paella. All together with the valet parking marked up drinks, flavorless tapas, and tiny entree I spent about $220 for 2 people and left hungry. Do not waste your money here... the best part of the whole experience was the view and you can get that from any rooftop in Denver. Service was very slow for a Saturday and it wasn’t busy. After last call our party we asked for bottom shelf shots and charged us for top shelf. To be fair we didn’t go and ask our bartender for a correction but we didn’t want to deal with another 10-20 min of waiting for a drink. In all honesty it seems like the bartender could’ve had a few too many shots, she was constantly running all over the place and even lost my card and asked me “if i was sure” that I gave her my card.
