Traveling from out of town, my wife and a friend attempted to book a massage together. In the midst of the booking process, my wife's friend noticed that she had an allergy to the products used. The option of add-ons should have been discussed up front so I wasn’t in the uncomfortable position of having to make decisions about adding more cost to an already expensive facial while also trying to relax. What’s more, these add-on services don’t actually buy you any more time on the beauty table, they just eat into your allotted hour, so I ended up paying $70 more than my original chosen facial cost for 15 minutes LESS time (as my original choice of the Tripe Oxygen Facial was 75 mins rather than 60). The therapist also spent a good 30 mins talking to me about her personal problems (I shouldn’t have told her I was a psychologist - although in hindsight, I could have been charging her for the session!).
