We tried the ceviche, birria tacos & pork belly special tacos. I was hoping they would be a little bigger than they were, in general I’ve found the portions small for the price. Well I was Gladly mistaken, when we each took a bite of our food the flavour was definitely there and everything was delicious. One thing I will say though. The service wasn't the greatest (I'm not sure if it was just because it was a Friday night) the staff declined to allow us to have table service and a split bill where we only had 9 or 10 people so tbh it wouldn't be that difficult. Today I noticed the menu was different but was excited to try some new things so got 4 different tacos and entree to share between two (plus a kids meal). Seems like the prices have gone up but the portion have gone down which doesn't bother me if the food is great. The sandcrab entree wasn't a great start, kinda like the tuna you get in sushi it was mushy without much flavour. The tacos were hit and miss. The pork one was great, nice flavours and textures. The chicken and fish both a bit boring. The pulled beef was flavoursome but hardly any toppings to mix up the texture, all mushy. Considering the menu makes the tacos out to have big exciting flavours they were a let down especially for the price. The hot sauce was amazing though as was the staff who are always super friendly.

We ordered just two margaritas I had the Baja, and my partner had the Coco Loco and we both thought they were great even though I’m not a massive tequila fan. The tortillas themselves were absolutely lovely, a perfect tortilla. The fillings were fairly simple, classic, but certainly done well and the crispy potatoes were exactly that, ludicrously crispy and a fairly unique addition to any dining experience let alone Mexican. It’s probably wasn’t the absolute best Mexican I’ve ever had in my entire life, but it was hard to fault anything, everything tasted great. We had a really nice time and were treated really well. Overall the food was great but the service and wait times were actually atrocious. But the food is delicious. The birria tacos and the pork with pineapple tacos are favourites. The buffalo wings were oddly the best ones I’ve ever had, the sauce had a stronger blue cheese taste that i really enjoyed. On arrival, a very friendly staff member greeted us and advised us to take a seat at a table outside. Once seated, we placed our orders for coffee, one iced latte on soy and one large skinny cap. Almost all pieces were dark in color and slightly charred here and there, which made the chicken taste a bit bitter. The reviews here are mostly quite positive but with a few quite negative, so I was a little tentative about it at first, especially in regard to some of the complaints of rudeness. I needn't have worried, however, as it would be difficult to imagine the pleasant, softly spoken, indian gentleman who served me being rude to anyone, except under the most extreme provocation. I suspect sour grapes from a few 'Karens' with totally unrealistic expectations. I arrived shortly before closing time (9:00pm) so service was unsurprisingly quick. As to the food, it met, and perhaps, exceeded all my expectations. I should mention that, when I first order at a new restaurant that serves food that has a tradition of spicey heat, I like to start off with something mild to get an idea of what I am dealing with. With this in mind, I ordered some vegetable pakoras, a mango curry (mild), and a can of coke zero. The pakoras came with complimentary sauce (it was tamarind, I believe), and the curry came with complimentary basmati rice. Servings were, to my mind, quite generous. The curry was served in a standard 500ml rectangular, plastic takeaway container, which was thoughtfully sealed with cling wrap to ensure no spills occurred. The rice was in a slightly smaller round but otherwise similar container. Sauce came in a small (approximately 30ml, I would think) round plastic tub with resealable flip-top lid. The food was served piping hot. The pakoras were delicious, cooked to precisely the right degree, soft, but still with some resistance to the bite. They had a pleasant crispness due to the light seasoning and thin batter they had been coated with. I don't really think that they needed sauce as I could have happily eaten them unaccompanied. The tamarind sauce did add a pleasant, slightly sweet tang, however. The mango curry was also excellent. It was served mild as ordered but still had enough spice to provide a pleasant tingle to the mouth without any discomfort. It was sweet and tangy but not overpoweringly so. You could definitely taste the mango. The sauce was rich, thick, and creamy, and there was plenty of it. The chicken was thoroughly cooked but still moist and tender. It was very satisfying. Finally ... the rice. I often suffer slight indigestion after an Indian meal. I attribute this not to the spiciness, but rather, to incorrect undercooking of the basmati rice. Standouts are the fried cauliflower, calamari, and the chicken tacos. My top marg picks are the guava and the coconut one. Neither were overly sweet. They also do a really interesting smoky cocktail if you like that flavour. A note if you’re going on the weekend, beware the 10% surcharge (different to a public holiday surcharge). There is signage to inform you of this but we didn’t see it (and certainly weren’t expecting to get our bill with a surcharge just because it was a Saturday night). They do have quite a few deals on a daily basis, although we came on a Friday, which included no deals. They also gave two straws for a piña colada, which seems wasteful. We had never eaten here before and had no expectations of the food or service. We were pleasantly greeted by a staff member who showed us to a table and provided us with menus for food and drinks. After this, we were still a little hungry (and couldn’t stop thinking about how good the birria tacos were), so we ordered another serve, along with the loaded fries. Again, the food came out quickly. The portion size of the loaded fries was insane—they were packed with flavour and filled to the brim. Such good value for money! After eating a bit more, we decided we were too full, so we took the rest to go, along with a serve of churros and a chilli choc brownie. We tried half of one churro on the way home and can confirm, just like all the other dishes we had, it was super yummy. Throughout the whole night, every single staff member was amazing. They constantly checked in to see if we needed anything or simply stopped for a friendly chat. A special mention to Amparo, our main waitress—she was so kind, accommodating, and friendly. Food was delicious, we enjoyed the birria tacos & the loaded fries were yummy. First when we walked it, no one greeted us to offer a table, however few minutes after we were seated. Both meals were delicious. I had nachos which I rarely order as most places don't do decent ones, but these were delicious. Their shredded beef is really good. My partner had enchiladas which was also really nice. The meal portions are quite large for the price. Their Jalapeno poppers are yummy also, with a bit of spice kick to them (not overly hot to spoil the experience). Service was great, fast and attentive and very friendly. Drinks and meals all came very quickly. Also they do good margaritas according to my partner! Well worth a visit if you like this kind of food. We will be coming back next time we're out this way!
