The food was excellent, ditto for the coffees. This café/ restaurant is really small and seems to be over staffed. There are two wooden benches outside that can probably take no more than four people. There is not ample seating inside either. My biggest disappointment was brunch not being served after 12 noon from Mon- Fri, why? The atmosphere is somewhat non existent and their clientele consists of people from the neighbourhood, BBC employees having their coffee or the passing tourists that somehow feel unwelcome. Payment is made upon ordering at the till but how cheeky of them to display on the till screen prior to making payment if one would like to add 10%/15% or 20% gratuity or nothing ? Are we now in U.S mode in the UK? And what service are we talking about ? Serving you what you ordered at the till? Perhaps if this restaurant was bigger and offered table service than we could possibly talk about service charges? It's a chain so there are a few others in various parts of London, but by this one in Shoreditch knocks the others out of the park. I ordered mushrooms on toast but this was the best I’ve ever had. Very filling. I’m not vegan but I try my best to always order vegan when I’m out and this hit all the levels needed. Full of flavour with a bit of spice, if you don’t want the spice just move some of the sauce away but it’s really good. I also got a Aperol Spritz & a juice, I always have to order two drinks. Complimentary water. I was able to bring my chihuahua and he just sat on he’s coat beside me, got some work done on my laptop. There is certain times that you can sit and eat so make sure to check out the timings. But other times you can still get hot or cold drinks. Definitely will be back, cosy warm and comfortable.

It's still the same components; rich and bold espresso shot(s) accompanied by textured milk (steam milk infused with air to create a velvety texture), but in the UK they are restricted to cup sizes for some reason (mostly to do with the ratio of espresso to cup size). I was presented with a 4oz to-go coffee cup. The flavor was great, and with execution solid. While this particular drink was delicious, I think I still prefer an Aussie flat white (or American). It’s a really nice cafe! Cosy vibes, trendy and felt really comfortable when I was there. I heard that they serve a good lunch menu though the purpose of my visit was to try out the bacon sandwich on their breakfast menu! They did not disappoint. The scones were good, but the standout was the strawberry jam, which was unreal. The patisserie selection was also tasty, beautifully presented and full of flavour. However, we were disappointed by the lack of vegan alternatives. We were informed via email that there were no vegan scones or patisserie, and instead of offering a substitute, I had to request a vegan alternative myself via email which should really be handled proactively by the team.. We were given only two Little Miss Hug biscuits as substitutes. In 2025, that feels like a real missed opportunity. Overall, it was a fun, therapeutic, and very memorable experience, especially the icing part. Can’t blame the staff but it sounded like they were excavating batmans cave below us the entire time which was obviously far from ideal. The lamination, the caramelised outside of the pastry, the butteriness, the salt levels and the rich cardamom flavour. It’s just perfect. Their coffee was also incredible. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and went out and of their way to assist me. Doesn't appear to be very well managed (albeit on a less busy day with the kitchen out of order!) Had the Turkey and Cheese ciabatta, it was nice and cost £11.
