We were brought here to The Shelter as we were told that the drinks were on par and a spot that the locals go. We are always up for a good cocktail and try to find the best places to go. It’s a little pricey but it’s interesting conceptually. The place is broken into three separate places. There is a restaurant that requires reservations, an open seating patio area with an additional indoor seating area and then a cute little bar with its own entrance. The staff was very kind and accommodating. Everyone had a very efficient but laid back vibe which matched the atmosphere. The bartender especially as I spoke with him then most was super hospitable and encouraging about the menu. I had him talk me through the drink menus and even though we didn’t end up eating at the establishment he was helpful with the menu. We were going to a show and the bartender continued to be very friendly and engaging which made us feel so comfortable. I will 100% be coming back. The venue location is perfect if you are seeing a show or sport at TCC or the Ronstat center. Also the hotel which is a popping location is next door and an easy walk across the street.

I left to get some food and I had to cash out to do so, even though I offered to leave my debit card behind for the 15 minutes on-foot round trip to the burger place. I understand you may reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who seems over-served but apparently having a naturally bubbly personality and talking a lot drives that impression. I've been waiting to order a glass of white wine (having tried the reds in the flight) and then I'd be done but she doesn't want to seem to serve me. She'd interrupt and talk about bringing me water and is generally treating me like a young brash drinker, not a 31 year old who makes touring wineries and wine bars in various states and amongst 13 countries her business of pleasure. I know how to handle myself and if I felt I was making a fool of myself, I'd pardon myself. But right now I don't look the fool. It's Arizona. It's dry, especially compared to the Midwest. Of course I'm drinking a ton of water, I'm thirsty - not necessarily drunk and trying to recover. I am definitely done with the dry personalities out here, though the lack of humidity might explain that too. I'm kind of done waiting. I'm sober now and I guess I'll just drive back to my hotel. They serve wine too, local wines even....what a shame. And for the record, just because I don't look as posh as some of your clientele doesn't mean that I don't have more money than them. For them, this is a special night out. And for me, this is just a day of the week. Maybe keep that in mind when dealing with people. I'd like to add that I was there for around 3 hours for my equivalent 2 glasses of wine, it's not like I was off my "rear-end." Within the past couple of years I've turned into a gin drinker and this place is money! I never knew the different varieties of gin there was and I'm intrigued. Service was pretty good for a busier weekend and the menu of specialty gin based handcrafted drinks available caters to almost any palate. Super bonus is that the bar stays open til 2am on Friday and Saturdays which you'd think it would not be such a challenge but it is. Tucson bar scene kinda stinks bc it's all about dive bars here and I hate burning my nasal passages with purple Fabuloso fumes walking into most dive bars (PTSD from my bartending years). This place made me happy and I'm so glad it is here! I can go get dolled up and grab a delicious gin drank and feel good. Impressed with the Drink menu and the care in making the drinks are so very appreciated.

If you dont know gin, dont worry, try their signature and just talk to the bartender about the kinds of flavors you do like.
