We had high hopes based on the reviews, however, this class left much to be desired, starting from check-in. For starters, when signing up, we were told on the phone that because it's s kids class, parents are welcome to sit with their children and help assist without purchasing a ticket as kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Upon check-in, we were told that the kids can find a seat at any of the tables while parents were instructed to stand at the window in the very front, nowhere near the tables where you could assist your children as we were told. Note, there is no seating in the front at all, so we were expected to stand there for the entirety of the 3 hour class. Thereafter, instructor Leslie begins the class and it becomes very clear that she has either 1) Never instructed a kid-centered class before. Or 2) Should not ever instruct a kid-centered class again. Leslie never introduced the class nor informed everyone on what they were going to prepare. And I'm still unsure why upon sign up they ask if you are celebrating anything special when they never even acknowledge it during class at all. Our 9 year old birthday was never acknowledged at all. During class there were so many things to note: 1) Leslie's instructions were very vague and caused a lot of confusion. Example: mix the sugar and baking soda. Both of these things are white in color and some kids might not know the difference. She never explained. 2) She was impatient with the children when they were confused or needed help 3) No quantities, or measurements were mentioned. For a cooking class, i would think that measurements or ingredients are mentioned. Or at least a recipe card given out at the end of class. None of the children could tell you how to make these cupcakes again because they were only told when to pour something into the mixer. 4) Piping icing into a bag takes skill. The kids were just told to "put the icing in the bag". This of course caused major issues and confusion. 5) Half of all cupcakes were raw and we couldn't eat them. 7) Class was ended 20 minutes early when that time could have been used to acknowledge birthdays, special occasions, introduce yourself to everyone at your table. Tell the class if you've done anything cool or new over summer. Is this your first time cooking. Anything! 6) Tip: It would be a good idea for each table group to be assigned a different colored cupcake tin so that the children are sure to have the cupcakes that they made returned to them after they are baked. I'm unsure if the class was just poorly taught, or if every class could use much improvement. Being our first class, I'm confident that we will not return nor recommend this class to anyone.

Overall, it was a nice experience. We arrived early and didn't get started till maybe 10 minutes past the start time. We got to make a 3 course meal from scratch: salad with a homemade vinagriette, gougeres, creme brulee, and lobster ravioli with a saffron cream sauce. The lobster ravioli with the creamy sauce was the next best thing and tasted very good but I think we overcooked the pasta. The pasta seemed harder than it should be. The key is to stretch out the dough as thin as you can and don't overfill it. They let anyone and everyone take their classes and do not care about quality or discipline they just want your money, and your body in the classroom. The truth is, all pastry chefs I’ve met and work for dislike Lenotre students, and considered not hiring me because of it until I told them I had dropped out upon realizing it was silly. Lenotre is now a regular common joking point for me and my chefs. Lenotre students often have an ego that was gifted to them from this school, with nothing to back it up. The list continues, numero tres. Their degree program is the funniest silliest thing I’ve ever seen. Math classes like we in 4th grade going over fractions and decimals. Shows the caliber of brain at this school. (Side note loved that teacher she did a fantastic job, she deserves the world) Nutrition class like it’s a highschool class with one PowerPoint a week and all the questions and answers are quick to finish and fall asleep for rest of class. My servsafe teacher was a joke, only two people passed because she didn’t know how to teach any information. Crazy lil old lady. Mrs. Hill, BEAUTIFUL AMAZING PERSON. The speech class she taught changed me as a person and she was the only one I respected. Very unfortunate that for this program the price is 50,000 dollars. For an industry where you will not be making a good amount of money. 50k is a horrible investment idea. It’s predatory. It’s very wrong what this institution does, in my young opinion. We were able to make a reservation through Resi which was great. We parked with the valet ($5) and were greeted by the host upon entrance. We were seated right away and were welcomed by our server. It was the perfect ending to my bridal shower weekend!! Giancarlo was so knowledgeable and very passionate about his work and company. The atmosphere was wonderful. Perfect for an intimate family occasion. Tim was a fantastic host and chef. He prepared corn gazpacho, crab cake (and he made a salmon cake for me since I don't eat shellfish), filet, elote corn, mac n cheese, and a lava cake. The 'hands on' part was we broke out in couples to prepare our own tartar sauce for the crab/salmon cakes. He had a little station set up with all of the ingredients we would need.
