The venue is lovely with lots of beers on tap and very friendly knowledgeable staff. Plus as an added bonus they had an awesome food truck (MoMo) where you could grab a bite to eat. We sat outside and bought a few different taster paddles over the course of the afternoon. All very reasonably priced and a fun way to try the various beers/ cider on tap here. We then ordered food from the truck (Nepalese food) which was incredible too, with all 4 of us commenting on how much we enjoyed it. As the afternoon progressed the sun decided not to play ball (typical British summer) so we moved inside to play Shuffleboard, (free on Wednesdays and Thursdays) but as none of us had ever played before, we asked a member of staff (Toby) who was only too happy to help/ explain the rules. We played for about 1 hour and afterwards chatted to Toby again who was a pleasure to talk with, he explained there are also board games upstairs with various nights dedicated to some of them. Finally we purchased a few beers and local ciders from the shop before coming away beaming with happiness from the nearly 4 hours we spent there. We will certainly be back.

We’ve been before and had a lovely time. We booked as we thought it would be busy, but it wasn’t at all which was fine by us. The place was staffed with 2 obviously inexperienced young people. After 20 minutes we had to remind the barman to bring out our drinks. The pub itself is beautiful, full of character with a warm, stylish interior after the recent refurbishment, and the garden is stunning, especially in the evening with the festoon lighting. It’s an old building and feels like a classic English pub. It was busy too. Very busy. But we were just two and they kindly squeezed us in and we were treated to the best Sunday Roast. We started with some homemade bread, roast garlic, olives and some beer from the local brewery in Westerham. It was all delicious and and great prelude to the main event - two thick slices of rare but very tender sirloin of beef accompanied by roast spuds, parsnips, carrots and a mound of tasty, green cabbage. There was obviously a good-sized Yorkshire pudding but also a huge jug of gravy which was left on the table so you could help yourself. We really liked that the horseradish was served by the waiter from a bowl rather than the obligatory jar of Colman's dumped on the table too. Nice touch. It really was a perfect roast. I’d love to tell you about the puddings but we were stuffed. Highly recommend - I doubt there’s a better Sunday roast in Kent.

We had lunch at the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. Imogen was very attentive, keen to help with any questions, and very kind throughout our whole lunch. When booking I was told that if the weather was fine, we would be seated outside, but should it be wet, we would have tables inside in the main restaurant. They offered a 15% discount on the lamb mains at the end which was appreciated, but we just wanted a normal sized meal to be honest. Refusing to sell us some extra chips or even just a starter is kind of wild, especially if you're marketing and pricing yourself as up-market. Decent wine list, although again overpriced, which was a general theme here unfortunately. Shame, some elements were decent (yellowtail starter was great, FOH service was v. friendly) but we left feeling a bit ripped off and had to go get the rest of our meal on the way home, which is a first for me & kind of defeats the point of booking a nice restaurant.... Our overall experience made it v difficult to recommend this spot which is a shame as we had really been looking forward to it.

We had heard great things from friends and this was our first visit. All the cask beer was at its finest and a real celebration of local Kent breweries.
