We were welcomed in with a cocktail, a beet deviled egg, pickled mushrooms, and a savory cracker. The first time was literally decades ago. The restaurant is a small building the size of a small home (probably was at one time). The main course was just OK. The gooey fish skin was not edible and the seasoning on the fish and risotto was a little bland. The desert was very good. That being said, the meal at this establishment was one that I will remember for a long time. It also encourages me to return as soon as I can. Our visit began at the bar for our usual pre-dinner cocktails. My wife wanted me to make sure I mentioned the Serbian Old Fashioneds she enjoyed on our visit. She said they we were delicious. Our meal started with bread fresh out of the oven accompanied by 2 delicious homemade spreads. A creamy cheese spread and an eggplant and what seemed to be tomato spread. Both had amazing flavor and tasted great on the crusty bread. For starters we chose the Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper salad. Sprinkled with a soft cheese and topped with a light vinaigrette the salad, like the bread course was full of flavor. Our other starter was the Serbian Escargot. A generous portion of snails( like 12!!)in an incredible garlicky herbed butter. Some of the best escargot we’ve ever had. Grilled bread was served on the side and was used to sop up every last bit of the butter sauce. Both of our starters could have easily served 3 to 4 people. For entrees I chose the Raznjici/Chevapchichi combo off the Grill section of the menu. This is a combination of perfectly grilled pork tenderloin chunks and Serbian sausages both with great grill flavor well seasoned and juicy. On the side were diced raw onions, and feta cheese along with perfectly grilled medley of vegetables and some of if not theee best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Needless to say my plate was licked clean when I was done. My wife chose The Braised Spring Lamb which turned out to be a very large Lamb Shank. Fork tender and melt in your mouth. The lamb was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. It was joined by red and green braised cabbage, the fore mentioned mashed potatoes, a dumpling, rice, and mixed vegetables. A very large portion indeed. Except for the the dumpling which sadly was very plain and lacking flavor the entire dish was bursting with amazing flavors. We did not try dessert although there were several options to choose from. Service was friendly, professional, and well paced. Bathrooms were small but very clean. Parking was available behind the restaurant. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Sadly my wife and I were 2 of only 13 people in the entire restaurant the whole night. This is a gem of a restaurant and more people should give them a visit when looking for some amazing ethnic food. Give them a try Milwaukee!!

Every single thing we tried (and we ordered probably 10 things lol) was amazing! I chose the Hollandaise crepe with tofu scramble, and I also tried the chorizo tacos. The tacos were really good with amazing salsa. The Hollandaise is legitimately the yummiest vegan entree I've EVER had at a restaurant. My boys got the cheesesteak crepe and the blueberry lemon crepe. I tried the blueberry and it was outstanding! My daughter ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes, mac and cheese, cheesy potatoes, and shortbread cookies. We also each tried one of their yummy coffee drinks or fresh juices which were all yummy. I tried it all and it's just incredible food. Ultimately, it's obvious these people can cook and season to perfection! Top that off with an awesome vibe, friendly, helpful staff, and a stunning location and you have a winner. Definitely don't skip this one if you are vegetarian or vegan! Almost everything is vegan or veganizable, and it's all vegetarian. Even my 2 non-veg kids loved it though.

Came with a friend for a hot beverage and pastry. It's a medium size shop, there are two seating areas that have plenty of natural light from the large windows. You order at the counter where you can also see all the pastry items. We ordered a coffee latte and a London Fog Tea Latte. Also ordered the Monkey Bread and Spinach Quiche. Everything was made just right (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam), and the food was the right temps. The Monkey Bread was a generous portion, and not overglazed. This place serves a great meal in a relaxed ambience. My family of 4 had dinner here on a Thursday night. This was our first visit. I chose it after reading the reviews. My advice? Don't waste your time and money dining at Maison. The food is way too overpriced for the quality and experience. I would not be surprised if this restaurant closed down in a year. I recommend eating at Le Reve Cafe or Lake Park Bistro instead.
