It was a bit of late decision to book a table for 25 people for our friend's, daughters 21st. We are so glad we did. The food was fantastic - best Thai I've ever had. We all agreed. The best part was the hospitality shown by the staff. They were so lovely and made the night really special. They brought out a dessert and all sang Happy Birthday (that wasn't something we asked for). I think we've all found a new favourite place. We will be back.

We ordered the chick satay started which was so light and the sauce was perfect. For mains we had the chef recommend chilli and lime sea bass, and sides of pad Thai with prawn and a special fried rice. The seabass was incredible and so beautifully presented, the pad Thai and rice also beautifully full of flavours. Cannot fault this restaurant at all. In fact we recently visited Ivy Asia in St Paul’s which didn’t have the authenticity of Tara’s. Well done and thank for you for a lovely evening in our local area.

Decided to give it another try last week on a lunchtime deal. We were the only people in there. What could possibly go wrong? The place was cold, no atmosphere. We eventually ordered our food which came out wrong, so it was sent back. Second time lucky it was still wrong the first issues that came out had vegetables, the second dishes that came out had no vegetables .as we were sitting there all of a sudden two people came bursting out of the kitchen which was supposedly chefs., not looking very happy. They came and asked us what the problem was so we explained that the dishes were wrong. and a lot of consistency. Off they went quite angrily. Then produced the food again and said is this better? It looked okay unfortunately the food was bland no flavour tough anaemic beef, very very pale looking chicken. Service didn’t exist food was very bland very boring. Nothing has changed in 11 years. I wouldn’t go back, even if the food was free !!

Amazing staff. Very helpful. The food was amazing and very authentic. To the point they sold tiger beer. Haveing been to Thailand and Vietnam it was a good comparison and to be honest if you closed your eyes and tasted there food you would belive that you was in a restaurant or street stall eating in Thailand. There papaya salad was so fresh with a slight kick just like Thailand. The sea bass was full of flavour. As was the Thai chicken green curry. And the beef strips were succulent and so tasty with a touch of bitterness all in all a great experience and totally recommended.

So first off, all of the food was cold The mixed hors d'oeuvres were just a disgrace. The crispy seaweed had half a bag of sugar on it, the chicken satay and ribs were so meagre and the meat just fell off when you picked it up - not in a good way like it had been cooked for hours on end but more like it’s days old and reheated. The spring rolls were doughy and barely any vegetables on them and the prawn toast was chewy and stale. The Singapore rice noodles were anaemic and stank and the fried chilli beef was just a congealed orange lump which somehow had overcooked beef and undercooked veg. I have no idea how this place is in business if they are turning out this muck.

I phoned again just to let them know and explained I wouldn’t be coming back. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the person on the phone asked if I’d “had chicken skewers before,” as if undercooked chicken somehow isn’t a problem. The food was hot and delivery was very quick. My vindaloo tasted like boiled chicken with a very bad sauce. This meal was bitter and the chicken was tough and over cooked. The sauce was overpowering with horrible chilli 🌶️ powder. Very strong and bitter taste that lasted for hours. Simply not suited for consumption. My Jalfrezi was watery and all the vegetables were over cooked. Tasteless and lacking in flavour is the kindest assessment that I can offer. The taste and texture of the chicken was consistently the same on all the chicken dishes. Potato dish was alright. No issue at all. The rest of the meal was just as bad. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will not be ordering from here again. Maybe it’s time the chef to call it a day and put a stop to tue horror show.

Nice welcome from the staff, quickly seated and drinks and poppadoms ordered. Settled on the Chicken Dhansak and Pilau Rice. Good choice, Dhansak was good, rich sweet and sour flavour and nice level of heat although could have gone a bit more. All in at a shade over £26, standard price nowadays. Free parking after 5:30 in the council car park but remember to register your car and get a ticket even though its free. Highly recommend it and will be back.

The staff were super attentive without being over powering. I had chicken tikka madras which was perfectly cooked and not too hot. My wife also had a chicken dish. We both commented on how tender the chicken was. All of the side dishes we ordered including mushroom bhaji, sag aloo and others were very fresh and tasty. The restaurant itself has a slightly up market feel. My wife also commented on how clean the toilets were too. My only negative would be the prices. I think the main dishes are a couple of pounds dearer than some other Indian restaurants but that said, the quality of the food justified the extra cost. Can't wait to go back.

Probably one of, if not the best, Indian restaurants in the Leigh/Southend area. The menu has a wide selection, with some exciting house specials and lesser-seen dishes if you're up for something new. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, I couldn't fault the service. It was efficient, and waiters were happy to talk about the food with you. It was a lovely evening in a pleasant atmosphere with friends. That said, the staff were nice and friendly and the general vibe was good. Portions were fine and the prices seemed about standard for an Indian restaurant. However, to eat great food is the primary reason for going to any restaurant. I have been spoilt by eating at Taste of Raj in Rochford and that has set a benchmark for me. These guys could do with paying them a visit and comparing bland with delicious.
