It has a very understated entrance. If you haven’t heard of the restaurant before it’s quite a surprise when you get to the bottom of the stairs and the entrance of the restaurant. We were greeted by Mick who lead us to our table. Very friendly and attentive to our drinks and food order. We decided to go with the $108 Oki Omakase banquet as we wanted to sample a selection of foods from their menu. We started with a Miso soup with a side of spicy edamame. Next was a chicken crackling tart with smoked eel and caviar, honey bug sashimi, yellow fin maki and an oyster topped with finger limes and granita. The oyster was a treat! We then had a blue Mackerel salad, chicken thighs in a vinaigrette, beef tail flap in slices with a side of pickles and a mixed leave salad. We wrapped up with a Nitro frozen chocolate mousse. I don’t usually have desert but in this instance I had to try. It was very tasty and an experience. I Left feeling satisfied but not over full. I can’t stand leaving with that bloated feeling where your food repeats over and over again. The service was fantastic. All the team were friendly. Drinks were fast and overall I can’t fault anything about the night. Had some good conversations with the staff. It was fairly busy but not incredibly busy. It looked warm and inviting so we went in. The menu was amazing. Hard to choose, really wanted to try one of everything. Staff were lovely, very friendly and made us welcome.
