Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Plaza de Mayo is a historic city square that holds immense significance in Argentina's journey towards independence, named after the pivotal revolution of 1810. As the oldest square in Buenos Aires, it serves as a vibrant hub for the nation’s political and social life. The plaza is flanked by notable landmarks such as Casa Rosada, where the executive power resides; the Cabildo of Buenos Aires; and the Metropolitan Cathedral, which was once graced by Pope Francis during his time there.
It is the main city square of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was formed in 1884. The city centre of Buenos Aires, Plaza de Mayo has been the scene of the most momentous events in Argentine history, as well as the largest popular demonstrations in the country. It is located in the financial district. Several historical landmarks in the area. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Lots of people here, careful with personal belongings. Free entry. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Toilets available. Cafes and restaurants available. Great place for photography.

Plaza de Mayo is a beautiful area to explore during the day — it’s one of those places where the history and architecture really come alive. The square itself is surrounded by stunning buildings, from the Casa Rosada to the various museums and government houses, each with its own character and charm. I was pleasantly surprised that many of the nearby sites seemed open and free to enter, which made it easy to wander in and take a closer look. It’s a great spot to stroll, take photos, and soak in the mix of old-world grandeur and the energy of modern Buenos Aires.
Raul R — Google review
Really beautiful (even more so when lit up at nighttime) and has a really relaxed and charming atmosphere. The square is big allowing for space to enjoy the surroundings. Really worth a visit when in the area.
Kara H — Google review
I went around sunset and I thought it was very picturesque. It is worth the trip down there. You can go on and off the bus with a touchless credit card. Also, the Catedral is down in the square as well, but I wrote that up separately.
Andrew B — Google review
We had a lovely time walking around this area as there is lots of historical buildings to see. We also walked a long the river and stopped for refreshments along the way.

The plaza with the monuments and buildings is lovely to see. For sure a must see, when you’re in Buenos Aires.
Nicolehrm — Google review
A lovely plaza where locals protest the government in power. Also has a fitting memorial to the thousands that died of COVID. It’s very Euro like in its massive monumental architecture.
Dov F — Google review
Plaza de Mayo is the most iconic and most historical square in Buenos Aires. The place is a hollowed ground of the May Revolution of Independence from Spanish Colonialism. The various structures in the plaza are many symbolisms of the life and aspirations of Argentina. These symbolisms are probably most visualized at night when the plaza is very well lit. 🏛️ The Pirámide de Mayo, whilst not the shape of a classic pyramid, is a towering symbol of freedom. The statuette of La Liberté stands atop. This is the central structure in the plaza. 🏛️ The Monumento al General Manuel Belgrano is an equestrian statue honoring one of the founding fathers of the Argentine Republic. 🏛️ The base of the Belgrano Statue is a true modern day memorial, locally known as the “Stones of Remembrance” COVID Memorial. Each stone is engraved with names of the departed from the pandemic. 🏛️🏛️🏛️🏛️🏛️ The most iconic is of course Casa Rosada, the Palace of the Offices of the President. It’s a most impressive Italianate architecture, an offspring of Italian Renaissance. Other notable buildings around the plaza. 🏛️ the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is a bit like a more expansive version of La Madeleine (Mary Magdalene Church) in Paris. It was the seat of then catholic archbishop Bergoglio years before he was elected pope. 🏛️ the Museo Nacional de Cabildo is a designated museo of Argentinian heritage. It’s one of few colonial buildings in Buenos Aires. It’s a Spanish Baroque architecture. 🏛️ Banco de Nación de Argentina (Central Bank of Argentina) is a newish building from the 1930s, replacing the old edifice. It’s a Neoclassical architecture.

Cemetery

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Cementerio de la Recoleta, established in 1822, is a remarkable cemetery adorned with statues and mausoleums of prominent figures such as Eva Perón. Its intricate design and architectural styles ranging from art nouveau to neo-Gothic create a captivating maze of narrow passageways lined with decaying marble statuary.
Recoleta Cemetery is an impressive cemetery and definitely worth a visit. The entry fee is quite high though, but it is a place where you can easily spend a few hours. Eva Peron is located here and fairly easy to find with all the signposts. But its one of the least impressive mauseleums given the styles and sizes of many others. Its worth doing some reading beforehand about many of the famous mausoleums, some of the sad or eerie stories. It makes discovering them more special. You will want to find: - Rufina Cambaceres - Liliana Crociati de Szaszak - Juan (David) Alleno There are also many former Presidents in this cemetery.
Warren B — Google review
A mixed bag, but more negatives than positives… ❌ Extremely overpriced unless you’re an Argentine citizen. There’s no free entry and it’s super expensive. ❌ The staff are some of the rudest least helpful people I’ve ever come across. ✅ It is an interesting place to look around, even though as a European most of the famous people were not famous to me. ❌ The state of some of the graves is disgusting, they are literally being used as rubbish dumps with empty paint cans and plastic bags dumped on top of coffins. I have no idea how they are spending the exorbitant entrance fees but it’s not on respecting the dead who are buried here.
Andy W — Google review
I love visiting cemeteries when visiting large cities, as they give great insight into the history and culture of the people. This cemetery is spectacular. I joined an English guided tour with Victoria, who was engaging and funny, recounting both the stories and the folklore that had built up around some of the mausoleum. Absolutely fascinating. A great way to spend 2-3 hours.
David S — Google review
This is a must visit spot but I recommend getting a local guide as it is all rather meaningless with proper explanations. The mausoleums are a walk through the history of Argentina and of course you can see its most famous inhabitant - Eva Peron though her mausoleum is one of the least impressive of the lot. We spent a couple of hours here with a guide that we hired at the entrance.
Dov F — Google review
We visited the Recoleta Cemetery and were truly amazed by how fascinating and beautiful it is. We had never seen anything like it before! Every tomb and monument has its own unique style, and walking through feels like exploring an open-air museum full of history and art. The atmosphere is peaceful yet impressive, and we were incredibly impressed by the details and architecture throughout. Definitely a must-see when visiting Buenos Aires!
Lg G — Google review
A really unique place and well worth a visit. It feels more like an open-air museum than a cemetery, with amazing sculptures, grand tombs, and a lot of history. Many well-known figures are buried here, and there is a mix of old and some surprisingly modern designs. Some parts are quite run down though. A few tombs have been left to crumble and look half-collapsed, which is a bit sad to see. The entry fee for foreigners is ARS 18,000 per person, which is pretty steep for Argentina. Hopefully that money is being used to help with maintenance. Still, a memorable spot and a must-see if you are in Buenos Aires.
River A — Google review
The cemetery is beautiful and the idea is great, but that there are different prices for equal humans is racist. The price for "foreigner" is 4x times higher then the normal price. Lots of construction with lots of yellow barks everywhere... Lots of rubbish in the Graves and around... Maybe someone should clean it for this entry fees. Bring lots of cash, cause they just accept cardpayment.... Which isn't progressive cause the ones from Europe don't work...
Marlon — Google review
Recoleta Cemetery is a must-visit in Buenos Aires, offering a fascinating mix of history, art, and architecture. The elaborate mausoleums and intricate sculptures make it feel like an open-air museum rather than just a cemetery. It’s the final resting place of many notable figures, including Eva Perón, which adds to its historical significance. The entrance fee is around $17, which feels a bit steep for a cemetery, but if you appreciate history and architecture, it’s worth it. The layout is like a maze, so I’d recommend using a map or joining a guided tour to fully appreciate the stories behind the tombs. Overall, it’s a unique and hauntingly beautiful place, but the high entrance fee and occasional crowds knock it down a star.

Teatro Colón, a grand theater built in 1908, is renowned for its exceptional acoustics and opulent design. It hosts classical music performances, operas, ballets, and offers tours to visitors. The French Embassy and Lavalle Street are notable landmarks nearby. Considered one of the world's top five opera houses, it has welcomed renowned artists like Maria Callas and Luciano Pavarotti.
One of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever visited! Walking into Teatro Colón felt like stepping into another era—so elegant and grand. The tour was fascinating and made me appreciate the history even more. A truly unforgettable highlight of Buenos Aires.

4⭐️ for the building, 5🌟 for concert performance of I Puritani, 2⭐️ for the producers who reduced a great opera to a concert 👎👎👎 Indeed it is a very very very poor decision for reducing an Opera to a concert, no matter how good the orchestra and chorus are. AT THE PRICE CHARGED, BUENOS AIRES DESERVE A FULL OPERA!!!! Janet Pratt, who sang Elvira, is an OUTSTANDING OPERA SOPRANO 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗. She managed to act despite the concert setting. SHE IS ALSO VERY EMOTIVE IN HER SINGING…. WOW 👏👏👏👏👏 IT IS TOO BAD, Teatro Colon stifled / MUTED HER TALENT by this concert concept to showcase an opera…..REALLY REALLY BAD DECISION. 🏛️ Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colon is indeed one of the great opera houses in the world. .*** The building is a unique Ecclectic-Neoclassical architecture built at the turn of the 20th century. *** Acoustics is fantastic, the stage is large, the theatre is well designed. ISSUES: 👎 the boxes, meant for 4, is cramped with 6 seats 👎👎👎 the restrooms are very small, they need serious updating

Visited here as part of a guided tour. There aren’t many tours in English, and their timings didn’t suit my tight schedule, so I opted for a tour in Spanish. Although I couldn’t fully understand the narrative, I fully appreciated the stunning architecture, stained glass, statues etc. Everyone talks about the amazing acoustics, so the tour left me wanting to return to see a performance.
David S — Google review
Buenos Aires's Teatro Colón is arguably the world's most spectacular opera house, offering an experience that transcends mere performance. Stepping inside, one is immediately enveloped by the stunning, opulent architecture - a lavish blend of Baroque, Renaissance, and academic styles featuring rich velvet, gold leaf, and vibrant frescoes that transport visitors to a bygone era of grandeur. However, the true marvel lies in its legendary acoustics, scientifically proven to be among the five best globally, ensuring that every note, from the softest whisper to the most powerful crescendo, reaches the audience with flawless clarity and balance. Attending any event here, whether opera, ballet, or classical concert, is a profoundly moving cultural rite that confirms the Colón's status as a beacon of artistic excellence and historical splendor.

Great experience for the theater built in 1908. I do recommend the tour if you have 1 hour to spend. It's a nice mix of history and time for taking pictures of different areas of the theater. This includes going into one of the balconies as well. I suggest purchasing tickets in advance. We walked up and had to get tickets that were for 2 hours later.

Absolutely breathtaking! The Teatro Colón is one of the most beautiful theaters I’ve ever visited. I saw the ballet Onegin here, and it was a truly unforgettable experience - stunning performance, perfect acoustics, and an incredible atmosphere. The audience was so passionate and emotional - I’ve never seen anything like it in any other country. A magical evening in Buenos Aires!

This Theatre by far stands as one of the best architecture art in the world. The theatre is even better than that of Garnier Palace, of Paris in my opinion. From seating, to classic environment, acoustics and the artistic architecture of the stage and the balconies. The sealing is another wonder and the atmosphere was amazing. I would definitely put this one as one of the best and most beautiful theatre and definitely stands as one of the top 3 theaters in the
Hamza B — Google review
The english guided tour is hard to book from their official online site. So my wife and I just went to the theater to try our luck second time this morning, we got our tickets over the ticket office. I had my doubt since I had been in couple of top opera houses in Vienna, but It was worth it. The internal decor is fine with baroque style since there are architect from France. The present Colón replaced an original theatre which opened in 1857. During the tour we had chance to hear female soprano rehearsal for 5 minutes which is huge bonus as I see it, then I could hear clearly pure and beautiful sound at back of the theater. I really wish I could have a chance to listen to a real opera here.

Don Julio is a renowned steakhouse in Argentina, celebrated for its classic steaks, local dishes, and extensive wine selection within an intimate setting. The restaurant has garnered global recognition, securing a notable 18th place in the 50 Best Restaurants in the world ranking for 2023. Specializing in grass-fed Aberdeen Angus and Hereford cattle beef aged for at least 21 days, Don Julio offers an exceptional dining experience.
Great food and great service. We had a reservation but asked to move it earlier, and they kindly accommodated us — though we sat outside, which we didn’t mind. The staff were friendly and attentive. The ojo de bife was huge, easily enough for 3–4 people. Overall, excellent experience — if you’re a true steak fan, you’ll notice the quality difference; if not, it might just feel like another good steak. Still worth it for the experience, just a bit on the pricey side.

This place has a lot of hype but we really felt it lived up to it and was worth the price. I could only get a booking for 11.30am online and even at that you queue. But they gave sparkling wine and empanadas while waiting. We were seated outside on white table cloth. Wouldn't have been my preference but was still nice and classy. We were given a few "free" bits including nice breads with a type of salsa and there are nice salsas and chimichuri sauces kept on the table. We decided to get a few starters (sausage and morcilla) and an entrecote steak to share with chips and a nice bottle of malbec. All really beautiful and the feature of the steak cut next to you is class. All really beautiful. The post main part is a little slower and less attentive service though they had some nice features like giving a free ice cream after ordering one. I also got coffee. Overall came to c $260,000 (€150) which I felt was worth it for what it was.

We were thrilled to get a seat at the number one steakhouse — ranked best three years in a row and a proud Michelin-star holder! There were some mixed reviews online, but coming all the way from Southeast Asia, we were so eager to try this famous establishment. We managed to get a lunch reservation, and while waiting, they served complimentary empanadas and wine — such a nice touch. The service was excellent and the staff were superb. We ordered the entrecôte (which costs about three-quarters less than back home!) and it was absolutely AMAZING — so flavorful and tender that we ended up ordering a second one. The mashed potatoes were also delightful. If you get the chance, do yourself a favor and try this place — it’s that good!
Debby D — Google review
What can I say about the #1 Steakhouse in the world. From the moment you walk up, you are greeted with Champagne and mini empanadas. The service is amazing and the food... Top of the line. Reservations are a must, probably 60 days ahead to get a dinner time reservation. Sides were amazing, mash, fries and salad were delicious. The meat...cooked to perfection. Staff beyond accommodating and friendly. Dessert was amazing.
Christian H — Google review
Food was great, a big portion of meat, very tasty. made on fire. But comparable with some other much cheaper places. Side dishes good. We tried amazing wine - they have great selection. Deserts were too sweet. Giving 3/5 because I was not convinced that much. Still great place to go tho

Wow…. Wow…. Wow…. We had an incredible experience. We came here for lunch and we had an extraordinary experience. Our server, Leo, was super kind and knowledgeable. He recommended cut of meats and things to try and he wasn’t wrong on anything! Everything he recommended was delicious. He also checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed. We spend around three hours in this restaurant, this to me, it’s an entire experience worth living. Food was incredible, service was top notch and the vibe was on point. I would recommend a visit to this spot. It’s a fancy spot but that it is worth visiting for the entire experience they offer. Best steak I’ve had during my stay in Argentina.
Fabiana S — Google review
To start.. they don't let you sit inside even with reservation because they save it for people with more recognition or something, which is very lame. The street is not a good atmosphere and even with the cloth on the table, the candle and all. No. It is not a good thing! Beggars can get near you, people walking down the street with their pets. It is just not so comfortable nor cozy. The service is really good, very attentive, they speak both English, Portuguese (sometimes) and Spanish. Their wine selection is amazing, super tasty. The T-bone was absolutely incredible. And their bread with chimichurri is good. Even the flower in the beginning of dinner. Their king trumpets are good but nothing out of the ordinary, same for the mashed potatoes, provoleta and endives. And sadly for being in the top 50's is way too high on the list, It doesn't feel much as fine dinning since the some dishes are nothing out of the ordinary apart from the meat that is their highlight but the others are just good. there is not even a dress code, nor the freedom to be able to reserve a table inside the restaurant and not outside, specially with tables being so near each other that makes it feel so crowded. Unfortunately I would not say it is worth the top 10 on the 50's best list, not even because they give you champagne to welcome you. Just sad all the hype is just that it is not bad food but it can improve in various aspects.

Don Julio. Well, well, well. Ignore the haters in the google reviews. It was superb. The guys in the queue behind us helpfully pointed out it was full of gringos, including them. But who cares. It is what it is. There are a million places to eat meat in Argentina and you have to make a choice. We shared an entrecôte with tomato carpaccio, grilled onions and artichokes with a superb bottle of wine. Dessert was a flan like crema Catalana and caramelised pumpkin with cheese and dessert wine as well. I’ve paid more for crap meals in London. Do it.

El Preferido de Palermo has a fascinating history that dates back to the early 20th century, when it was a popular grocery store frequented by tango singers, poets, artists, and gauchos. Over the years, the space has been restored by the Zoppi family, uncovering a treasure of old memories and a wine cellar with more than 2.
Really good service! Natasha, our waitress, was very attentive and super nice. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We shared everything and left feeling full :) It is on the expensive side, but both the food and the service are totally worth it.

Located in Palermo, one of the most well-known neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, this restaurant is a must-visit. It offers local charm, excellent service, a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and most importantly, delicious Argentine gastronomy and a great wine selection. Reservation is a must there are two options: outside terrace and indoors. Added to my fav’s list. 😉

I stopped by for an early dinner without a reservation, and the front desk staff was super friendly—they gave me a few different seating options to choose from, which was great. I ordered a gin and tonic and got to pick from a nice list of gins. For food, I went with the Canelones, and they were amazing—especially with the tasty red sauce. I finished with the flan, which was the perfect classic dessert. Service was awesome—my server, Rodrigo, was really helpful, gave great suggestions, and made the whole visit totally worth it.

We just dropped by and had our light lunch. The blood sausage is incredibly delicious. Salad is very nicely seasoned and bread with lemon olives oil is a nice touch. Lemonade is very refreshing and tasty. Tortillas is okay. In general, price is slightly higher but a great experience.

Without a doubt an absolute MUST for Buenos Aires! We arrived on a Monday at 7:30pm, the staff were so attentive and without a reservation we waited for about 20min only which was fine, especially as they give you a waiting drink, delish! We were seated at the bar which I would highly recommend because watching the Chefs in action was a work of art. We saw every dish coming out and it was perfection, and everything we ordered tasted amazing, I wish we could have ordered more and hope we can come back before we leave. Complementary housemade bread and olives to start, so classy. Wine from Mendoza was delish and then as a surprise (because the chefs probably saw how much we were enjoying ourselves) they gave us desert on the house which was the cherry on top! If we were locals, this would be our weekly spot!!

I really enjoyed this place. We ordered two small plates and two veg dishes. More that enough food for two people. The waitress said all the food should be shared so we did. You get complementary bread and a few olives plus a lovely chickpea and provolone tart to go with the meal. Great place and great food. Ignore the haters in bad reviews. No, it’s not cheap but go to MacDonald’s if you want to watch your budget. The food here was well worth it.

Loved this place Fabulously friendly and efficient staff . Great vibe punching out fabulous food. At El Preferido de Palermo, the Milanesa I ordered was a full of texture and flavour, Accompanied by a fresh grilled asparagus. Washed down by a couple of excellent wines . Located in the lively city of Palermo, La Cabrera is a popular Argentinian grill known for its wide variety of high-quality cuts of meat. From boneless ribeye to grilled gizzards and braised pork shoulder, the restaurant offers an array of traditional dishes. What sets La Cabrera apart are the generous side dishes that accompany the beef, including mashed potatoes, quail eggs, zucchinis, and sweet corn.
Genuinely very impressed! They offer a dinner deal with 40% off at certain times, which makes it amazing value. All of the steaks were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The sides were just as impressive, and there’s a lovely selection of wines to choose from. We left absolutely stuffed and very happy. It was genuinely so worth it—highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ La Cabrera is an absolute must-visit in Buenos Aires! 🇦🇷 The atmosphere is lively and full of local charm, and the service is friendly and attentive from start to finish. The steaks were cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and bursting with flavour — easily some of the best we’ve ever had! 🥩🔥 The selection of side dishes and sauces was outstanding, and the generous portions make it great value for money. We loved the complimentary appetisers and desserts — such a thoughtful touch. If you’re visiting Buenos Aires and want to experience authentic Argentine cuisine in a warm and vibrant setting, La Cabrera should be at the top of your list. ❤️

We waited our entire BA trip to come to Cabrera and were so extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in our experience. We arrived at 2000 when our reservation was (and when it said they open). There were patrons already inside and some sort of filming and photo shoot occurring inside that was noticeable to everyone waiting. My only assumption was that is group is why we were not seated until 2045 even though we had a 2000 reservation. People outside were visibly and audibly upset because of what was happening. What made it worse is that the manager came out multiple times, but was not being transparent as to why there was a delay in getting guests with a reservation at 2000 seated. Once we were finally seated we weren’t greeted for another 20 minutes, without explanation as to why there was such a massive delay. Our waiter didn’t help guide us through the menu whatsoever and just asked “ready to order?”. I’ve worked in a restaurant so I get it. We ordered two different steaks, both medium cooked. My fiancés arrived rare to blue rare as you can see from the picture. It was clear there was some sort of chaotic situation evolving either from the pre party they had that ran late or for some other reason, so we didn’t send it back. Overall, would not recommend for the above listed reasons— definitely not the authentic BA steakhouse situation we were hoping for. I did tip 10% and total for one glass of wine, a beer, salad and 2 steaks came to $135 USD.

Had a lovely diner here. Was (pleasantly!) surprised by the Happy Hour discount -30% for diner between 18.30-20.00. Service was really good! Food wise it was possible to share dishes or eat half a portion, which was great. Salads as a side dish are also very good ánd huge, so easy to share. Am very pleased that I have visited this place, will come back!
Nicole — Google review
We ate here recently and throughly enjoyed the food, the steak was one of the best I’ve eaten. And the service was very attentive and friendly too. Plus the prices are decent, especially during the happy hour. Maybe a bit picky but only 4 stars because… * We sat outside as it was the 40% off happy hour so was very busy. Not a problem, but the heating lamp didn’t work and it was August so it was uncomfortably cold. They need to fix the heater. * I allowed the waiter to talk me into ordering less steak (he was quite persistent), so was still hungry at the end. The customer is always right. 🙂 * I ordered a can of beer and it arrived in a half-full glass because it was only half the can. I don’t know what they did with the other half. When I got a second can of beer I poured it myself and it filled the glass to the very top.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience and not worth the visit. For a restaurant carrying Chef Riveira’s name, the front-of-house leadership fell far below expectations. The team responsible for greeting and seating guests sets the tone for the entire meal—and what we encountered was extremely disorganized. We arrived before a group of three, yet they were seated, served, and finished their meal before we were even called. Another example: a party of two women who arrived earlier than us were skipped entirely. When the hostess tried to seat us instead, we insisted they take the table because they had been waiting the longest. As a result, we were then placed at an outdoor table in the cold. The hostess seemed overwhelmed and unsure of the seating system, handing out tables to whoever approached and creating confusion for everyone waiting. There was no process, no communication, and no sense of coordination. Considering the high price point, the service was nowhere near the standard you would expect. And in Argentina—where steak is a national point of pride and excellent options are everywhere—there is simply no reason to tolerate this level of disorganization. There are plenty of places that serve great meat. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Provided is our view after an hour wait (said to be 20 minutes) and what it looks like outside — no line.

Don't believe the hype about this place. The wagyu is full of thick strips of fat and in fact I have found out the cut was not wagyu - see picture. The salad looked inedible. Also, the service is not good. All that for 325,000 pesos. Don't waste your money, there are much better restaurants than this. The food was not bad as such but the reason I am giving one star is because it was so overpriced and they did nothing to address my complaint. Tourist trap!

Roux is an upscale dining spot in residential Recoleta, offering reimagined Latin-Mediterranean cuisine and a carefully curated wine selection. Helmed by award-winning chef Martin Rebaudino, the restaurant prides itself on sourcing high-quality ingredients from various regions of South America to create flavorful and beautifully presented dishes.
It is a must while in BA if you like fine dinning. The inclusion of well curated Argentinean ingredients make this cuisine exquisite. Excellent wine cellar that fits all budgets.

What a gem! Don't even know where to start... The place is absolutely faultless. We found it by sheer accident as we were living just round the corner. Let's start with the easy bits. The staff is super friendly, speaks English, with sense of humour, smiles, no airs & graces and very reactive. The place reminds me of a typical French bistro (but from a higher shelf), being small (perhaps 30 covers), white tablecloths, subdued lighting, intimate atmosphere - in a word, cosy. Now the best bit - food. We had no hesitation in choosing the tasting menu (all in - 11 dishes with 5 glasses of paired wine @ around USD80 per person at the time of writing) - not a steak in sight! Which is great, after 5 weeks of eating beef (undoubtedly the best in the world). It is a combination of seafood, pork (suckling pig to die for!), fruit & vegetables. Even after the 11 courses & wine you do not feel extremely stuffed. For optics of the food - see the photos but for the taste - I must say it was sublime, perfectly balanced & imaginative. And served with perfect timing. The inclusion in the Michelin guide is very well deserved!

Great french style food and fresh seafood which was really delicious. Delightful and I loved the octopus and the fish, which were extremely fresh, as well as the plating. Lovely fusion and balance of flavours. Service was excellent. The restaurant was also generous and served a few amuse bouches complimentary. The bread basket had a good assortment of breads and was acxompanied by high quality butter. Gnocchi was a bit too soft for my liking though as I prefer it to be a bit more springy and chewy. Make a reservation to ensure you get a seat, and if request to sit inside as much as you can. I wouldn't recommend sitting outside as the lighting isn't that great (if you are having dinner), and on a cold day (though they have heaters) as it does get a bit windy. Not within the restaurant's control but if you're outdoors and the garbage truck comes by (am not sure about the schedule but one came in the evening) it does dampen the overall experience a little.

Possibly the best tasting food ever, in my life. Certainly, one of the top 3 restaurants for me. Absolutely delicious, with very attentive wait staff, and fairly priced food. The best tuna tartare I've ever eaten!

Lovely restaurant. The tuna tartar, ravioli and risotto were exceptional , the croquetas and desserts were less amazing and slightly lacking flavour in comparison but overall I’d highly recommend !

Pizza restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Pizzería Güerrín is a renowned establishment in Buenos Aires, serving traditional Argentinian-style pizza and empanadas since 1932. It has become an iconic spot for locals and visitors alike, with long queues during peak hours due to its immense popularity. While some claim that the quality may have changed since it was acquired by the owners of a pizza chain, it remains a must-visit for those seeking an authentic taste of Buenos Aires' unique pizza style.
Pizzería Guerrin is an absolute classic and truly one of the best spots for pizza in Buenos Aires. They do a fantastic job – the pizza is delicious, fresh, and made with high-quality ingredients. The tomato sauce tastes homemade, like it’s made from real tomatoes, not processed ones – rich in flavor and full of aromatic spices. You don’t need to add anything – it’s perfect just the way it is. The place is always packed, but the staff handles it incredibly well. The team is fantastic – I’d rate the service 10 out of 10. The kitchen works efficiently, and despite the rush, we didn’t wait long for our pizza. When it arrived, it was absolutely amazing. Even the people next to us, who had just arrived, were admiring our pizza! The desserts looked great too, but unfortunately, we were too full to try them. Still – this place is absolutely worth visiting. The atmosphere, the flavors, the quality, and the service – all top-notch.

This is considered the best pizza in Argentina or at least BA. It’s a huge place with so many tables and rooms and staff that it is quite a maze. The staff were attentive and helpful and I have to admit that the ingredients were high quality and the pizza was very good. I did think that is was on the pricey side for a pizza (we visited in May 2025) but it was a great experience and I would definitely return to try other combinations of toppings and crust!

For a foreigner this is an average pizza with average ingredients and a pre-made dough. The cheese is abundant but there nothing that stands out about this pizza. It's cultural and historic that's the whole point. You can try argentinan pizza here to say that you've had it but there's no need to come back. It has HUGE amounts of mozarella cheese which I guess drives people crazy. For this style this place is famous but there's much better options in Buenos Aires for spectacular napolitan style pizza such as Atte. The place is always packed so don't go on an empty stomach. I paid 42,000 for a large pizza and a HORRIBLE glass of wine. That size is good for four people.

I recently stopped by this bustling pizzeria with my friends. While you should forget any expectations of traditional Italian pizza, this local take is undeniably nice and delicious. We ordered the classic Muzzarella (Mosallera), and it was fantastic. The dough was incredibly soft and perfect, offering a beautiful base for the toppings. They are certainly generous with the cheese, delivering a pie that is full of rich, savory flavor. I highly recommend arriving before 9 PM if you want to snag a table and avoid the long queues!

Recommend by a friend, and very popular with the locals. Always packed or very packed. Even extremely crowded, service is very good and fast. A small pizza could easily feed 2 people. They provide English menu, and I was pleasantly surprised when was offered to me because I was using my phone to translate it.

It’s an Buenos Aires staple and always crowded, especially outside peak hours. The pizza here is very thick — almost like bread! I tried the Fugazzeta, Guerrin Special, and their empanadas, and honestly, I preferred the empanadas over the pizza. The empanadas taste good. The restaurant i super spacious and can handle lot of people. The pizza comes loaded with toppings, but it felt a bit too heavy, and the bread flavor was quite dominant. I’d suggest ordering by the slice so you can try different varieties. Overall, it was a nice experience, but I might not coming back.

Huge store with many tables. The pizza is insanely good, thick and very cheesy. We almost mistakenly ordered two big pizzas but the server warned us it's gonna be too big for two persons, very helpful, we even left some to take back home in the end. Got to try Argentinian cider, it was quite nice

Came here on a Thursday night after a theatre production and even though it was past midnight, the restaurant was lively and had a line out front. However, it went by fast, I would say 15 minutes too to wait for a sit down table in the patio. The place is huge, in the front you only see the stand up are where they sell individual slices. In the back they only sell full pies. Nerea and Mario were excellent and very attentive to our party. Our food was delicious and so was the strawberries and cream we had for dessert. The tinto de verano (similar to sangria from what I tasted) was also spectacular and my parents and I were able to split the pitcher. Recommended coming here for a late night pizza, even during the week this place was packed.
