Cafe
Art cafe
Coffee shop
Café Tortoni, established in 1858, stands as a historic gem in Buenos Aires and is renowned for its French-style ambiance. This iconic café has long been a gathering place for the city's cultural elite, including celebrated figures like Jorge Luis Borges and Carlos Gardel. The venue buzzes with artistic energy, hosting live tango performances and various musical events that continue to attract both locals and tourists alike.
The atmosphere is the real highlight here — full of history and charm. I enjoyed the Patagonia flower tea, which was surprisingly good, and the churros with hot chocolate were classic. Food itself is nothing special and service felt rushed with the tourist crowds, but it’s worth a stop to soak in the setting.
Justin C — Google review
The atmosphere here is truly charming — cozy, historical, and full of character. I had to wait in line for about 45 minutes, but in the end it was definitely worth it to check out this must-visit spot. The bakery items were freshly made, and the coffee was decent as well, making for a nice combination. The staff impressed me with how professional, organized, and fast they were, even with so many people around. And of course, the highlight was the tango show — absolutely impressive, full of passion and energy, and something that perfectly captures the spirit of Buenos Aires. Overall, a memorable experience that I would recommend despite the wait.
Nataliia T — Google review
I usually don’t visit cafe’s and restaurant’s recommended by travel guides, but this time, the recommendation was spot on! I didn’t know what to expect. A grande entrance with 2 large doors. When you walk in, it feels like you are walking into an opera house. The lighting, ambience, people talking, laughter, and staff moving between tables whilst smiling. Organized chaos and feel good environment. I have never seen or experienced a cafe in such a grande scale. It was like watching live drama unfolding in reality. I was looked after by Yamii. Great service from her and a very pleasurable person to converse with. It was a highlight of my trip to Buenos Aires! Please do visit this place even if you have to queue up outside for some time. It will be worth it!
Gaffer — Google review
Café Tortoni is a fascinating place — stepping inside feels a bit like traveling back in time. The menu is a little unusual (cake for breakfast, anyone?), but the food was actually quite good. You can tell the service is optimized for efficiency rather than a leisurely dining experience, yet it’s still absolutely worth a visit for the atmosphere and historic charm alone.
Raul R — Google review
Live tango dance. Amazing hot chocolate. The lemon pie was amazing as well. The vibe was cozy and intimate. We got there around 3 and the wait wasn’t that long, however when we left at 3:45 there was a long line.
Zareefa A — Google review
This is a tourist must-go place. After seeing much of street cafe shops selling similar bakeries pastries, I think it's time to try authentic traditional cafe even with long line. The menus are in Spanish, we need google translator and an english speaking waiter to explain to us. For simplicity we chose a combo for 2- Té del Atardecer (2 infusiones, 2 copas de jugo de naranja exprimido, tostado mixto, alfajor, brownie, 2 medialunas, 2 churros, tostadas, manteca y mermelada). Well it might be for breakfast, it did not matter. The food is so so, I'm not coffee lover, so no comments on coffee. I did enjoy the classic decor with history, in the middle someone briefly showcased bit of tango, that's bit of surprise. Overall we did enjoy our experience.
Zemin B — Google review
After reading loads of reviews about this 'must visit' place in Buenos Aires, I thought I would give it a go. I think others must have been thinking the same things as the first two times there were really long queues outside, which only made me more determined to go in and see what all the hype was about. We managed to get a table in the late afternoon and the understood its popularity. It was like stepping back in time. The design of the place was very art deco and amazing to look at. There were live tango dancers moving between the tables. I expected the food to be over priced given its popularity, but was really surprised that it wasn't. It was like travelling back in time, a great experience and highly recommended.
Jensen I — Google review
Café Tortoni is not just a coffee house but a beautifully preserved portal to Buenos Aires's storied past, making it an essential destination for any visitor. Its history begins in 1858 when Jean Touan, a French immigrant, opened the original establishment; it later moved to its iconic, current address at Avenida de Mayo 825 in 1880, establishing itself as the cultural heart of the city. The moment you step through its doors, you are immersed in belle-époque splendor, surrounded by dark polished wood, marble tables, stained glass, and evocative portraits of Argentine cultural legends who once frequented its halls. While enjoying a classic café con leche and churros, the atmosphere itself - filled with the echo of poets, tango masters, and intellectuals - provides a uniquely romantic and historically resonant experience. It successfully maintains its century-old elegance and charm, offering delicious treats and a vibrant evening tango show, cementing its status as a living cultural monument and a delightful place to pause and soak up the city's spirit.

Roux is an upscale dining spot in residential Recoleta, offering reimagined Latin-Mediterranean cuisine and a carefully curated wine selection. Helmed by award-winning chef Martin Rebaudino, the restaurant prides itself on sourcing high-quality ingredients from various regions of South America to create flavorful and beautifully presented dishes.
It is a must while in BA if you like fine dinning. The inclusion of well curated Argentinean ingredients make this cuisine exquisite. Excellent wine cellar that fits all budgets.

I absolutely adored this restaurant. Exceptional service. They truly ho above and beyond to give you a fine dining experience. The food is incredible. I loved every dish.
Isabel S — Google review
What a gem! Don't even know where to start... The place is absolutely faultless. We found it by sheer accident as we were living just round the corner. Let's start with the easy bits. The staff is super friendly, speaks English, with sense of humour, smiles, no airs & graces and very reactive. The place reminds me of a typical French bistro (but from a higher shelf), being small (perhaps 30 covers), white tablecloths, subdued lighting, intimate atmosphere - in a word, cosy. Now the best bit - food. We had no hesitation in choosing the tasting menu (all in - 11 dishes with 5 glasses of paired wine @ around USD80 per person at the time of writing) - not a steak in sight! Which is great, after 5 weeks of eating beef (undoubtedly the best in the world). It is a combination of seafood, pork (suckling pig to die for!), fruit & vegetables. Even after the 11 courses & wine you do not feel extremely stuffed. For optics of the food - see the photos but for the taste - I must say it was sublime, perfectly balanced & imaginative. And served with perfect timing. The inclusion in the Michelin guide is very well deserved!

Without a single doubt one of the best restaurants in Argentina - and one of my favorite ones in the World. Absolutely everything is amazing !
Diego R — Google review
Exquisite. Top notch service and food. Asked for blanco vermouth, found out after servers went out to purchase a bottle for us to make the drink. Everything was fresh and such high quality. Amazing presentation. Mind blowing. Would absolutely come back.
Calin B — Google review
Great french style food and fresh seafood which was really delicious. Delightful and I loved the octopus and the fish, which were extremely fresh, as well as the plating. Lovely fusion and balance of flavours. Service was excellent. The restaurant was also generous and served a few amuse bouches complimentary. The bread basket had a good assortment of breads and was acxompanied by high quality butter. Gnocchi was a bit too soft for my liking though as I prefer it to be a bit more springy and chewy. Make a reservation to ensure you get a seat, and if request to sit inside as much as you can. I wouldn't recommend sitting outside as the lighting isn't that great (if you are having dinner), and on a cold day (though they have heaters) as it does get a bit windy. Not within the restaurant's control but if you're outdoors and the garbage truck comes by (am not sure about the schedule but one came in the evening) it does dampen the overall experience a little.
Melissa O — Google review
Possibly the best tasting food ever, in my life. Certainly, one of the top 3 restaurants for me. Absolutely delicious, with very attentive wait staff, and fairly priced food. The best tuna tartare I've ever eaten!
Barry N — Google review
Lovely restaurant. The tuna tartar, ravioli and risotto were exceptional , the croquetas and desserts were less amazing and slightly lacking flavour in comparison but overall I’d highly recommend !

FRENCHIE in Buenos Aires offers a delightful culinary experience with its bistro-style setting and authentic French feel. The menu of the day option for lunch provides a variety of starters, main courses, and desserts accompanied by wine and water. Despite the modest portion sizes typical of a bistro, the quality and variety make up for it. The microcentro branch is particularly praised for its exquisite dishes and excellent service, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes patrons feel at home.
Excellent French cuisine place in Buenos Aires. Managed and served by the owner, Jerome. Excellent food. Daily menu and wonderful patisserie.

(Translated by Google) Nice place, good service. There was only the daily menu option for lunch, which made the meal a culinary experience. I had two starters, a main course and a dessert, as well as wine and still or sparkling water. The style is bistro, so don't expect huge amounts of food, but since there were several dishes, in the end I didn't need larger portions. The price is excellent for everything on offer, definitely worth it. I recommend it and would go back. Recomendo e voltaria.

(Translated by Google) The best place with French food that I have found in Buenos Aires, the microcentro branch has the best combinations and exquisite dishes, without leaving aside its style and excellent service, everyone at Frenchies makes you feel at home. They could put several options of dishes of the day, that's why I don't give 5 stars. Otherwise Excellent. Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant San Telmo neighborhood, Brasserie La Petanque stands out as one of Buenos Aires' few classic French brasseries. This charming eatery invites you to indulge in hearty French cuisine paired with local wines, all while enjoying a lively atmosphere characterized by close-set marble-topped tables that encourage delightful conversations with fellow diners. The menu boasts traditional favorites like garlic escargots, foie gras, and the must-try duck confit.
Fantastic selection of dishes. Very tasty. We had meat and onion soup. Everything very good. The restaurant is very well located in San Telmo Neighborhood.
Maria V — Google review
Located in a busy street of local shopping booth's to this restaurant offers good taste of French dishes, we tried the Patagonia trout, tend loin and cream brulee, all were very tasty.
Catherine W — Google review
Our server tried his best but the raw oysters were foul. My wife gagged on one. I ate one that was not good. We gave them back. He brought me another so I could open it at the table. It was foul too. I’ve been eating oysters all around the world for over 50 years. I know what good oysters taste like. Anyway, they didn’t charge me for them even though I said I would pay. I didn’t want make a scene. Otherwise, the place looks wonderful and the service was really well done. Perhaps other items are fine.
Paul — Google review
A cute French restaurant with an English language menu. Right on the main shopping street of San Telmo market. Service was good - was given an aperitif before our meal. Certainly didn’t feel rushed at all - relaxed and refueled for more market shopping.
Kathy H — Google review
What a fantastic French restaurant! From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like honored guests. This is one of the few places in Buenos Aires where they serve Tartar di Manzo (beef tartar) and it was excellent. Pepe, our server, prepared it table side with capers, onions, Worcestershire sauce, a little Tabasco, and plenty of style. Possibly the finest version I have ever enjoyed! Good wine list. Excellent options for after-dinner digestives.
Jim P — Google review
Simply one of the best restaurants in Buenos Aires. I have eaten here twice and both times it have been perfect. The service is always top notch and the food will make you dream of returning. Im so full i can hardly breathe and im already looking forward to returning.
Mike M — Google review
On a random corner in the San Telmo neighborhood sits a French restaurant owned by a French man with precarious hours. The staff and service are great, and the owner, as any owner of any restaurant is, beat up and worn down from the constant trama of the public (he sports the stereotypical French attitude and personality which actually is quite the show if you remove your own sensitivities and defensiveness). The French onion soup is very flavorful. The Boeuf Bourguignon is fairly lean, but severed as the traditional smaller portion size that I don't personally prefer. The stand out by far is the 3 variation offering of the Creme Brulee. I've never had Pistachio flavored Creme Brulee and it was amazing. The other two flavors are orange and vanilla. Personally, I preferred the vanilla, but that's my taste. I also tried the Chocolate Mousse which was another 3 varieties, and enjoyed all of them, but especially the white. I recommend sitting at the bar and enjoy the conversation with the owner and watch the master mixologist make the hand crafted cocktails in front of you. Not the mention all the random adornments of various objects in the wall behind the bar make for an enjoyable and entertaining experience.

Rodi Bar is a historic cantina that has been around for ages and is always bustling with patrons. The restaurant offers excellent quality food, particularly their perfectly cooked meat dishes, which come at friendly prices. The cozy and traditional atmosphere adds to the dining experience. The generous portions are ideal for sharing, and the attentive waitstaff are always ready to assist. Despite being busy, the ambiance allows for easy conversation within groups.
Very busy local restaurant with a mixture of meat and pasta. Very good food, reasonably priced wines and very good service. Filled up by 8pm with a queue outside. Had the mustard pork chop(a) and four cheese gnocchi. Chops were the best

We were staying at the nearby Loi Suites and this place is just down the street. The menu is huge, the prices are reasonable and the place is filled with locals. It’s so popular you should arrive before 8 pm or you will have to wait! The service was great and fast and the waiters and patrons were super friendly despite our less than amazing Spanish skills..

A classic! It's been here for decades... I have visited this restaurant for at least the last 35 years. Love their simplicity and consistency... Dishes as good as 30 years ago! Recommended the Revuelto Gramajo.

This was such a lovely place in the Recoleta area to have lunch. The beef was amazing, tender and perfectly cooked. The sides were also tasty. Portions are generous and service was good. Recommend this place if you are around
Keren S — Google review
My food was really poor but my mistake was probably not choosing a classic Argentinian steak which seems highly rated by reviewers. I like a runny omelette but mine was completely raw apart from at the edges, just completely uncooked liquid clear egg white & yolk. The salad should have been in the bin, not served to customers, old & very tired with lettuce leaves edged with dark green slime. But for me the worst thing was finding a half eaten roll in my bread basket. The service was slow and I felt invisible, I waited ages for them to clear my half eaten plates and then I was just completely ignored. They are obviously just coasting on their Trip Advisor reviews
Jane D — Google review
It is located very close to Recoleta Urban Mall. If you are into Argentinian steak then you can try this restaurant. I had beef with mustard sauce and some chips. Chips were ok but beef was delicious. Also they have very good wine options. Prices are fair.
Mustafa A — Google review
poor quality meat (tough and chunks of fat), soggy fries, and an indifferent waiter. They add some silly 2,000 peso charge per person and the waiter says it was for the cutlery, cold bread, and toothpicks that they brought to the table. Tourist trap.
Daniel B — Google review
Previously i rated 5 stars and ate here frequently. First time back after 6 months away and it was different. Too much fat and gristle on the meat, cream sauce was too liquid, bread was stale and service was slow. I will return as i hope this was a one off as it was previously so good.

Le Pain Quotidien is a rustic-chic bakery and cafe chain offering classic light fare and organic breads. The ambiance exudes a Provencal style with grandiose cafes, green plants, and casual violin music playing in the background. It's a great spot to enjoy a leisurely meal or pop open your laptop for work over lunch. The menu features delicious options like eggs Benedict, creamy brie salads, and aromatic coffee served in perfect French style.
Our friends brought us here and we're so glad they did. There are very good vegetarian options here. The place was busy but they accommodated us. Prices were reasonable. We highly recommend this place.
Jerry T — Google review
I went on a Monday, just before noon, and the place had that awkward level of occupancy: not busy enough to excuse the delay, but not empty enough to explain the neglect. I sat down, waited… and waited, studying the online menu with the patience of a Buddhist monk while the waitstaff ignored me like an ex at the supermarket. Eventually, a waitress dropped the menu on my table like it was a ticking time bomb and dashed off like she owed me money. That’s when I knew things weren’t going to improve, so I left with the grace of someone walking out of a failed audition. I even found myself looking for someone to apologize to—for showing up in the first place. In short, it’s a spacious and charming spot whose greatest achievement was proving that silence and indifference can be the worst items on the menu.

Very nice and friendly staff. I enjoyed the atmosphere and it feels cosy for breakfast with friends and family I ordered the eggs Benedict with a latte, the other 3 in our group ordered different items on the menu, and it all looked as good as the taste according to my friends A location to discover when in Buenos Aires!

Opens at 8am! Coffee is very good and the breakfasts are pretty good. There aren’t that many breakfast places that open at 8am so this is good. We enjoyed our time, staff were friendly, eggs Benedict’s where nice and we will Come back.

I really enjoyed the breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien! I’ve first tried this concept in France and then in LA. I really love the interior and the food. First time in BA and the food is amazing. The salmon is really tasty with the avocado. The egg on the avocado toast could have been a little lighter so it would be more fluid. The cinnamon bun were amazing. Not too greasy but at the same time not dry. You got this perfect. The drinks worked good at well. The lemonade tasted delicious. My hot chocolate could something. Love drinking from a bowl.

Terribly overpriced, and really lacking any flavor. The sweetbreads weren't anything to rave about. I ordered creamy rice with prawns and I got the most sad looking prawns I've ever seen, unacceptable, also the menu didn't mention fish and they were included in the dish. My sister order a wagyu steak that was $76 so chewy she couldn't even finish it. Nobody pays attention to you, and to top it off they told us "tip is cash only," for a restaurant marketing that it is in the Michelin Guide I expected more. It is so tasteless to ask for a tip.

We shared the Argentinian beef dinner. Some pieces were awesome; others were grizzly. Not what I would’ve expected. Service was poor. No one ever offered to fill our water or wine glasses. They checked on us once. We had to flag someone down to clear our plates after sitting there done for a while. We sat outside at night and it was beautiful. Overall, there are much better choices in B. A.
B S — Google review
First of all, shout out to the great somelier - we learnt so much from her that night. For starters the empanadas were great, the mollejas not so much. The wagyu sharing plate was okay and the vegetables it came with were definitely the worst part of the meal, and super bland. They brought us an extra piece of asado de tira because of a misshap and that cut of meat was really good. For dessert we enjoyed the flan but not really the cheese plate. Overall we had an ok dinner but the price was insane for the quality of the food so I would not come back sadly.

The ambiance of the hotel is beautiful, creating a lovely atmosphere. We ordered the parrilla to share and requested it to be well-done, but when it arrived, it was overcooked and burned, likely due to it continuing to cook on the charcoal grill. Additionally, I was disappointed with our waitress, Carolina, who kept opening water bottles without asking. In total, seven bottles were opened and added to our bill without our consent. I’ve attached a photo of the menu from December 2024 for reference.

An exquisite fine dining establishment in the heart of Buenos Aires, this Park Hyatt hotel restaurant serves classic Argentinian cuisine with a flair. The service, cuisine, decoration, and location are all world class. From the starter of Provoleta, to the mains including seafood, lamb, and beef cooked parilla style, culminating with great dessert including in-house ice cream - the food is the mainstay. The restaurant draws you with its opulence from the moment you set inside with the extensive wine selection displayed and only ups the ante with the its ambience, and views into the lush gardens overlooking the restaurant balcony. The restaurant mentioned in the Argentinian Michelin guide truly deserves the award and a must visit.
Syed A — Google review
Good food, but poor service. Waiters often ask if you need something and then just dissappear. Our dishes took around 50 minutes to be served. Also, a bottle of simple gas water costs freaking 20 USD, and they never mention it until its time to pay. To summarise, if you want to find a Michelin experience, look somewhere else. This place is no better than regular restaurants in BA but 3-5 times more expensive.

Not one can argue that just the place and garden views of the Duhau Palace but itself are just a experience they restaurant was another experience by itself. Feeling totally transported from the craziness of the city the road rich decor and superb ambience while having live soft music playing in the back was Amazing. The services was just perfect, and the food both in presentation, execution and taste where just perfect. And them just finish your evening with a good Cuban cigar and a crafter cocktail in the good Hands of the experience bartender in the garden, just made the whole experience perfect.

Pulpería Quilapán is a unique and laid-back eatery located in a vintage venue that offers traditional dishes and drinks. The 1860 mansion has a rich history, having served as a colonial house, tenement, and even a mechanics workshop before transforming into the eco-socio-cultural pulperia it is today.
From the places I being it is not coming to a sorority suprime that one of the most unique restaurants will be located in San Telmo, then oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aire, a mix of everything together, both local and nostalgic, the food was superb and the service above perfect. As I was leaving I happens too meet the owner that to add a bit more of the mosaic that is argentina, it happens to be from Normandy France, running a classic argentina restaurant in Buenos Aires that once was called the Paris of South America. Must visit

Like it's often the case in Buenos Aires, the best places are hidden away! Pulpería Quilapán is one of those best kept secrets! Just around the corner of Plaza Dorrega you'll find one of the oldest Argentinian mansions in the city and still standing. Decoration brings you back to memory lane and it's possible to eat in and outside. The menu is rather small but just the way I like it. From all the original Argentinian dishes I took the veal ribs. I was in for a surprise! One of the best ribs I've ever eaten in my life! The taste was delicious and cooked to perfection! I can only recommend this please cause it's just great!

This had the coolest environment, an food was good too. Will probably make the trip back before leaving Buenos Aires. Recommended if you want to experience an authentic South American ambiance and food. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of the inside

Ate here after it was recommended but was very disappointed. The lemonade we ordered was watery and bland, and when we ordered food from the menu, the waiter returned after ten minutes of waiting to tell us it wasn’t available. After ordering something else, more time passed and was told that also was not available. Ended up ordering something we did not want, which came out cold, bland, and tasteless. There are so many more amazing places nearby that I would not recommend this restaurant despite its character and good reputation.

A historic South-American atmosphere with delicious empenadas! The restaurant is siuated in an old building, with different courtyards. In the back there is a beautiful outside terrace, in the front a patio with live piano music.

The hotel and the restaurant of the horel has the same place to review... so here is my opinion of the Restaurant The Restaurant is outdated, the food is basic. But is lacking of investment and promotion Sorry great job from the waiters and staff!!!!

They also stored my luggage safely while I was away. Staff speaks good English, is very friendly, cordial and helpful. Will come back again. Highly recommended. Best hotel in Buenos Aires so far. We had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Club Frances during our recent travels to Buenos Aires. From the moment we stepped in, we were treated like royalty! Everyone is very helpful, kind, and dedicated to ensuring you are comfortable. When we returned after 10 days from the South, the staff recognized us and welcomed us with open arms! The rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious. El desayuno is a delight! We adore the staff and to one day return!

Pros: My wife and I stayed here five nights. This is an older hotel but with decor that is beautifully French. It has pleasantly spacious rooms. The French restaurant downstairs is truly excellent. I strongly suggest the duck and pumpkin soup. Breakfast was very good, with options for customized items and served in a glass enclosed marble patio. The staff were very helpful. The location was great and the rate was affordable. Cons: the hotel is quite old, and they really need to replace the bad fluorescent lighting in the hallways, clean the stains on the elevator ceiling/artwork/walls/carpets, and address the cracks in the hallway trim. However, the main thing to be aware of is that this is not the place for you if you have a sensitive sense of smell... there was a slight smell of either mold or a small sewage leak in the hallways. This was especially evident near the elevators and on floor 2/3/4. If you are not sensitive to smells, you may never notice it. However, even though our room and the restaurant were fine, we eventually decided to switch hotels. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would come back if they addressed these upkeep issues.

Our stay here was awesome! The front desk ladies were amazing and made our stay so pleasant! The room itself was a piece of art, comfortable and great for relaxation! The room includes a sauna and hot tub so we enjoyed a private spa! Dinner and breakfast were extremely good! Would love to stay there again!
Raquel G — Google review
We really enjoyed our stay here overall. The location is perfect to see all the main highlights of Buenos Aires. We decided to call and book directly through them instead of through a third party. If you are visiting BA from the US, make sure you read up on the exchange situation and 'blue rate' because we believe we paid far less overall for our stay than if we had booked through a third party. With that said, getting ahold of them by phone was challenging, they have 2-3 different numbers and only one seemed to work at any given time. The breakfast in the mornings was great. The only reason we're giving a 4 overall and a 3 for service was the concierge-type services. We emailed in advance about having a car pick up at the airport arranged for us. The hotel confirmed and even emailed us 24 hours in advance to confirm a number for the car driver. When we got to the airport, no one in sight. We tried to call the hotel and finally got ahold of someone. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes in the airport for the driver, we really should have just gotten a taxi. We were just exhausted and wanted it to be easier. The other mishap was the front desk arranged for us to go to a tango show, but we got there and they only reserved for one person, not two. It was easily fixed but it took a while to work out and there was a lot of confusion.

A surprisingly good hotel restaurant 👏👏👏 in Buenos Aires. … Outstanding ambiance in a very spacious, open, high ceiling patio space just beyond the hotel reception of Loi Suites Hotel. The Menu is short and sweet, good listing though nothing spectacular. 👍 the Ojo de Bife is spectacularly mid-rare, very flavorful in simple seasoning. BUT it is served with way too much pumpkin purée. The ribeye is the star NOT the purée!!! 👍 the Ensalada de Pollo is good: simple medley of greens and other veggies with slivers of Parmesan. 👍👍👍 the Ensalada Langostinos is very good: mix of greens, cherry tomatoes, red onions and quinoa in a very light vinaigrette. The Imperial beer is good … BUT NEVER A FAN OF CANNED BEER OR ANYTHING CANNED. Service is very good.

The waiter at this restaurant was rather rude, need to be trained in customer service, the waitresses were apologetic and they made the experience a bit better, the food was good but very small potions. The restaurant closes at 19.00 and reopens at 20.00 , it is not continuously opened till 23.00. update: I do not want to get your staff member in trouble, hence I am not going to share anymore details, but I do encourage for him to be properly trained so that he is competent on how to welcome customers and treat them well as he is in a customer service role.

The quality of the food is great. We had home made pumkin gnocchi with delicious nuts and the rib-eye steak with grilled veggies, where also the fat tasted great. The service was very attentive. Two areas of improvement would be: The cesar salad had a good portion of nicely tasting chicken breast, however the salad dressing could taste a little less of mayonnaise. The coffee was watery and tasteless. For the rest we would definitely recommend it.

Lo Del Francés Café Bistrot is a charming spot in the San Telmo neighborhood that exudes a French ambiance, from its decor to the Francophone staff. The menu offers generous portions of delicious food with thoughtful presentation at reasonable prices. Visitors praise the attentive and friendly service, making it an excellent choice for a satisfying meal or drinks. The bistro's specialties like boeuf bourguignon and raclette are particularly recommended, while their selection of cakes and beverages also receives high praise.
The raclette is huge! The 2 of us had boeuf bourguignon (delicious!) and the full raclette. That was very good but too much food! I’d say you could share the raclette among 4 people and have a salad per person to go wit it. I believe that should be plenty. We recomment this place.

The Croissant might be bigger I re- qualfyied this beutiful café, since the overall experience is amazing, and even though the croissant it might be bigger, I noticed that raclette and other things were amazing, even better than you can get in Chamonix. If you find yourself in Buenos Aires, make sure to carve out some time during the week to visit Paris Burger, a charming microcentro eatery that brings a taste of France to Argentina. Known for their thick and juicy burgers, this French-owned spot offers a classic menu alongside an enticing selection of gourmet options featuring exquisite French cheeses. But that's not all!
The main draw to this place was the hookah/shisha bar upstairs called DarkSky (highly recommended for best pipe experience in Buenos Aires due to limited choice elsewhere). This place sells burgers that can be ordered to the shisha bar as well as cocktails. While I won't claim that this place has best burgers in town, they are pretty good considering the surprisingly low standard of burgers overall. Prices are around 3 US for wonderful cocktails and 3-4 US for the burgers. The Montmarte and Moulin Rouge burgers are pictured, Montmarte felt better due to the cream and blue cheese adding to the softness of the buns and beef patty. Great inexpensive place for drinks, shisha and a burger.

I ordered two burgers from Rappi, and the burgers arrived completely RAW! The meat was literally still purple and chewy, I almost threw up. I understand it was late at night, but you should cancel the order- not send two raw burgers. I had to throw it away and order from somewhere else, I requested a refund from rappi.

Wouldn't make a burger vegan by simply removing the cheese. Chef seems unlikely to care about any requests customers have and would rather lose business.

Best hookah place in Capital Federal. The place is run by a guy that actually worked on one of the best hookah places on earth, so it makes sense that the quality is so good. Price is good, 5000 pesos or $10 for a hookah for four people. You can also order food from the place downstairs.

Lovely bar to try Vermù (fortified wine), super cozy with great service. Try the terrace upstairs if it’s nice out, it’s so pretty! Food was alright, we tried the octavet platter, it was a bit of a strange mix imo and lacking flavors.

Great contemporary typical Argentine cuisine restaurant serving elevated dishes. The setting is relaxed, menu is uncomplicated. Vermouth is the center point of the drinks menu. Ordered the fainazzeta de napolitana (thick chickpea pancake - think French socca or Italian farinata) with mozzarella and cuartirolo (Argentine melty) cheese, and heirloom tomatoes. Flavors were on point, and it was very filling. To drink I had a tónico de Los Andes. Dessert was a flan con dulce de leche (which certainly could have used more dulce de leche!), but was quite tasty.
Ben N — Google review
Unique experience to have housemade vermouth in a cozy bar. 2 levels, so you can sit inside where it's mildly lit and quiet or you can go upstairs to the outside rooftop. We sat inside and it's the perfect place for a date night experience; we had some of their vermouth tastings and something like croquette balls. I'm not a huge vermouth fan, but really enjoyed the experience here. Vermouth is very well integrated into Argentinian culture, and this bar does one of the top productions of it.
Jenna R — Google review
Can’t rate the food because we came here after dinner, but what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked good. This was a great post-dinner drink spot for us. Lots of vermouth cocktails to select from, with vermouth that they make themselves. There are three types: rojo (more bitter), blanco (more sweet) and primavera (in the middle). The drinks were well-balanced and the atmosphere is festive and fun thanks to the colorful artwork and design details. I enjoyed the vermu la fuerza (rojo vermouth and soda) and the Caipi de Verano (blanco vermouth with vodka, mint, and lime). Bar service was not very proactively attentive but we had no problem flagging the bartender when we were ready for another round. Five stars for quality of the drinks, three stars for service, five stars for atmosphere. Also, if you love merch, you’ll likely want to buy a t-shirt!

Interesting place, it's mainly a place to drink vermouth, which they have many varieties of, but also works as a restaurant with a small but very interesting and unusual menu, sucha as the fainanezza (a combination of faina and fugazzetta), and the buñuelos de acelga, smooth and delicious. My only criticism is they probably should have more options for us teetotal people, and the flan mixto had a lot of cream, but very little dulce de leche.
Alejandro S — Google review
Mixed feelings. Food: some great, some bad Escabeche de hongos : 7/10 good quality Buñuelos de acelga: 9/10 flavorful, perfe tly cooked, soft Fainazetta: 3/10 dry, bitter, unbalanced Croquetas de arvejas y queso ahumado: 9/10 similar to the Buñuelos de acelga. Drinks: not a fan of vermouth overall, which is their strength. That said, I asked for some cocktails with vermouth. Mixed feelings, again Negroni: very good 8/10 La perla del Atlántico (La Fuerza Rojo, Gin Casa Rosa Doble Enebro, almíbar de frutos rojos, limón, soda) : watery, not particularly flavorful 5/10 Atmosphere: trendy, interesting atmosphere. Nice place. We ate inside, which I recommend over the option of staying outside (where chairs and tables are small and uncomfortable) Service: the host was very welcoming, helpful and kind. The waitress was OK, but a little smile would help a lot. She was clearly not happy of working there. Price: Not cheap, at all. Cocktails are particularly expensive relatively. Conclusion: Some great things, some mediocre, some straight bad. I will probably not gonna be coming back soon

My husband and I had a delicious dinner of a truffle grilled cheese, French fries and pecan pie on day two and because the cheesecake sold out I went back on day three to eat some along with the best green side salad I’ve ever had and spaghetti and meatballs. The iced tahini latte with almond & cashew milk was unique and tasty. Can’t wait to come back to BA and eat here again!
Venusha G — Google review
The best pastry, good service, amazing breakfast options and brunches. The design is beautiful, the atmosphere is great, I loved it! There is also a nice terrace. I would love to see more vegetarian options in the menu. Quality of food is top! Matcha latte was extremely expensive ( around 20 000) and not tasty at all. It’s a shame to serve it in such a good place…
Polina L — Google review
Must try breakfast/lunch spot in BA. Easily some of the best coffee in the city and phenomenal pastries. I recommend the apple cinnamon roll and medialunas. Music was a bit too loud and didn’t match the energy of the restaurant. Friendly staff, too.
Nathan B — Google review
Excellent, charming cafe in the heart of Palermo Hollywood with lots of seating space. Prices are a bit high, but the food is incredible, especially the pastries! The customer service is one of the best I’ve experienced in this city. The host, Loli, is really sweet, and she was extremely kind and attentive to me as a first time customer. She recommended the best items on the menu, found me the best seating in the restaurant on a rainy day, and she even brought a blanket without me asking her, as it was freezing and I was wearing shorting. This type of care and attention is the reason that Oli is my favorite cafe in Buenos Aires, having returned multiple times.
Michael I — Google review
We had breakfast/brunch at Oli two days in a row as we were impressed with this cafe experience. Sunday was busy, and getting a table was difficult but we managed to get seated at a bench looking into the bakery area where we could watch the team at work. First impressions: this is a happy team who love what they do. They interacted like friends and smiled as they worked. The pastries and bread here are all sensational. Highly recommended.
Warren B — Google review
Went on Sunday, it was early. Managed to find a table. Attention was not the best. Staff serving us were moody. The food was good, but the price for portions a bit elevated. Pastries are incredible. The coffee, at least the filtered that came with my breakfast, was not good at all. I would recommend it, but if you don´t like small portions its not for you. There are certain plates, which I believe, that are too expensive for the small portion they have. I did not try the lunch, but there were other plates that seemed very nice. I had the COMBO Perfect Breakfast. This was fullfilling. My other two companions, the ROYALTY egg and the PALTA toast. The english muffin was extremely small. and the toast on the avocado toast could have been much bigger. Both were not fulfilled by the portions. I also tried the Chipepa and it was very good. I think though I could give it a second try but for lunch.

Le Moulin de la Fleur is a charming French boulangerie-patisserie with multiple locations in Recoleta. It offers a delightful selection of breads and pastries, perfect for a light breakfast or to take away. The newest location provides a lovely setting for a snack or lunch, with delicious crepes and excellent service.
Absolutely beautiful Cafe staffed with friendly people that serves up wonderful plates and excellent coffee. The Vainilla Latte is a favorite of mine. The Dulce de Leche Croissant is divine but if I order it again I'm splitting it because I can't eat that much sweet food. If you're not looking for a sweet treat they also have numerous savory dishes that are sure to satisfy your morning cravings. Bon Appetit!

This may have been the highlight for us in BA!!! Such fantastic well-made food and drinks, a lot of vegetarian options, and a great ambience. Would highly recommend!

I finally located an authentic Pain au Chocolat in Buenos Aires (Recoleta neighborhood). Made properly, and served fresh at room temperature just like on the streets of France. A perfectly light and crisp exterior with soft, flaky, buttery layers of lamination on the interior. And with two batons of dark chocolat nestled in the center. Perfection. Merci, merci. Muchas gracias. ♥️

If you're visiting Buenos Aires or living here, one of the best things you can do in Buenos Aires is to start your day with the best coffee and croissant in the world. The cafes here offer super fresh, tasty, and high-quality options that will make your morning special. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, and the croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery. I absolutely loved it. Try mushroom and cheese croissant or sandwich, it's really delicious. Also the environment of this cafe is so unique.

We accidentally bumped into this lovely place. I was attracted by the looks and all the hanging plants but the food and service were also great! I definitely recommend it if you’re around!

Good food, though not without hitches. The salmon salad had little salmon but was pricy, and the hummus was very chunky and a bit dry. The flavors were good though. The vibe with the plants was nice, but the tables a bit crowded. The staff wasn't super attentive.

Fleur de Sel is a French-style restaurant located in Buenos Aires, offering special menus and a unique dining experience. The restaurant is known for its great food, amazing presentation, and modern decor. Despite being tucked away on a dead-end street, the service is top-notch without being pretentious. The chef's passion for food shines through in the 4-course tasting menu with paired wines, and there are options for different tasting menus.
Fantastic Service, Great Presentation, and even better Tastes! This restaurant does everything right. They offer 5-star service and food without the pretentiousness that typically follows. The chef was very passionate about his food. I went for the 4 course tasting menu with paired wines (they sometimes offer a 7-course tasting). The people next to me ordered from the menu and were also very satisfied. This is a bit off the beaten path but an immediate favorite of mine!

This is truely a french styled restaurant. Food tastes great and the presentation is amazing. It is hidden away on a dead end street but inside the decoration is modern and tasteful. Service is really good. Of course prices are a bit off the top (french style there too I guess) so this is more of a one time or once in a long while thing. We got the duck and the codorniz (small bird) both tasted amazing. As entree we got the fig tart but I almost entirely focused on the dough that was like a cookie. A really nice experience but for a very reduce audience; some classic style high end dinning experience.

Food is delicious BUT no options for vegans or gluten intolerance. Place is usually crowded on weekends and even though the waiters are super nice, they are just overloaded: service takes long, tables are not clean and the overall experience is not so neat. Still the place gets crowded every weekend so you have to trust the food really is delicious.

The two of us in our group that ordered salads were not super happy with our dishes but the other two loved what they had (great scrambled eggs and croque Madame). My salad had half an avocado which was buried under a mountain of greens. I didn't even realize it was there until I finished half the salad. Juices and lemonade were great and the spot itself is super adorable.

Tony = Eggs Benedict 👏 2019 Q4 update: new team, things are awesome again, and you can get consistently great eggs Benedict as early as 8AM on a weekday 2019 Q2 update: YMMV a lot. Sometimes the eggs Benedict are great, sometimes they’re cold and overcooked. I used to come here once a week... might be worth trying other things on the menu... or maybe it’s the time of the day (if you come too early, you can’t even get the Tony)

Absolutely delicious homemade food in a super low key location. The menu changes often, and is written on a chalkboard that they bring to your table. I had the beef stew and prosciutto salad. Both were very wholesome and hearty. It felt like a grandma's kitchen.

Not really understanding the hype. Service is incredibly slow, and when I say incredibly I mean it. We waited nearly 1.30 for two dishes, neither of them were complicated plates. The food is okay but nothing special, I’ve eaten better gnocchis at the train station in some village in Italy. Price is relatively high for Argentine standards, very similar to European bistros’ pricing. TLDR: there are much much better, more authentic and overall more enjoyable places than this one. The Gontran Cherrier Bake Shop is a lovely bakery located in the heart of Palermo. It specialises in croissants and other pastries, but also has a wide variety of salads and sandwiches if you're looking for something light. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is light and airy.
The food and pastries at this place are amazing! We had the avocado toast, chocolate croissant and a flourless chocolate cake and everything was delicious. The only thing I would fix is the temperature of the coffee, it wasn’t hot enough and we had to ask them to reheat it. Other than that everything was great!
Ileana M — Google review
Stopped by at Gontran Cherrier in Palermo for a quick pre dinner bite and coffee (merienda) and it did not disappoint. Service was good, but rather slow - we had to get up to find someone to take our order. No biggie though. We ordered a couple pistachio cappuccinos and a couple pastries to tie us over before late dinner. The maracuyá tart (passion fruit tart) was phenomenal. The right balance of sweet and tart flavors. The pear and white chocolate bar was good too. Sizes were perfect for sharing without getting super full. The temperature of the coffee was slightly colder than I’d like, but this tends to be the case in Buenos Aires, even for top notch places like this. Will probably go back for breakfast to try their caneles and a few other pastries next time.
Ben N — Google review
My favourite cafe in Buenos Aires! The coffee is amazing and they are one of the cafes that serve oat milk as ane of their milk alternatives (most cafes in BA serve almond milk only), and it tastes great! The pain au chocolate probably the best I've had. They have a display counter full of pastries to try. Highly recommend!

A lovely place near one of the more exciting areas in Buenos Aires. Located on the corner so the guests can bask in the sun throughout the day. Enough choice for everyone from breakfast to sandwiches and patisserie! The service was great and lovely. The food was great and tasty. Be mindful that the patisserie options might be a bit on the smaller side. The rooftop terrace was nice and had a good vibe.
Animesh G — Google review
Amazing chocolate croissant - perfectly flaky and exactly how it should be. The latte was smooth and well balanced too. I grabbed mine to go and enjoyed it in the nearby park although the indoor seating looked lovely and inviting as well! Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving a quality pastry and coffee!
Alison A — Google review
Got a breakfast here and although the food was good the service was a little slow and we didn’t have room on our table for what we had ordered. Instead of giving us a secondary table or clearing what we had it was pushed into the middle as a pile. We ended up placing some of our empty cups on the floor so we had space to eat our meal. Overall it was cute and I would be back for the atmosphere but it’s not my number one choice in the area.
Dorothy L — Google review
They have really good coffee. I couldn't try their sweets this time but I'll update the review if I might. I had a Nordic smoked salmon sandwich and it was delicious, the bread was really good too. The French restaurant Les Anciens Combattants serves up delicious food in an unassuming neighborhood. The food is fantastic, and the service is excellent. The restaurant is a great place to visit, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal.
Worth five stars for its ambiance. This wonderful restaurant harkens back to a time, long passed, with the history of France, WW I and WW II covering the walls. The food is good, though not spectacular. But, add to the food, the prices, the unique service, and this is a place to be preserved almost as a culinary museum. For the history buff, the adventurous eater, and someone who is tired of the same old cuisine and locations, this is a find. If one is perceptive, it is similar to being present in a restaurant rendered in a film from 100 years ago. But, you have to look at the decor on the walls in some detail, walk by the working fireplace, notice how food is served, and you will then sense a time that has passed that has fortunately stretched into the present.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place to learn a little about the history of France and the Legion. The food is very good as is the careful attention of the waiters. As a tip, it would be good to enlarge the menu a little, and add some dishes that contain vegetables, so present in French gastronomy. Although our experience was very satisfactory, we would have liked to be able to choose between some other options. The same in relation to the cheese board, which could not be possible since some of these were missing in stock. Otherwise, it is a highly recommended place. All payment methods.

All of the dishes we had here were great! This was the first time I visited this place and it will not be the last.

We ordered the ratatouille to share as a starter, but we also ordered the crunchy sweetbreads. The crunchy bit was the potato chips and it came with a lemon, white wine, and onion cream.

We also ordered the spinach fritters that came with an alioli dipping sauce and a sweet and sour tomato dipping sauce. We also ordered the Cauliflower dish.

Not pictured, but I think it was the best dish of the evening was the tortellini with pesto and stuffed with braised pork. I only had a taste from someone else’s plate, but it was wonderful.

I ordered the organic chicken, cooked in a white wine, orange, and kefir butter reduction and served with smashed beets, glazed endives, and pickled beets.

Sleek space, a bit "IKEA" in style. Excellent, creative fare. Great service. Portions are a bit small, particularly for the price - almost like the size you'd get in a tasting menu. Perhaps that's the intent, but that could get pricey quickly. Still, highly recommended!

Toast with scrambled eggs and ham which were good. A salmon bagel with avocado and arugula in good proportions. A cheese scone that left a lot to be desired, to our taste it only had cheese on top and not inside. The nutella cookie was good, the carrot pudding lacked flavor and the marquise cake was a square that also did not meet expectations. But on the other hand there was the detail of a little piece of pudding with the coffee, a glass of soda and some cookies when we left, things that don't usually happen. Excellent attention.

(Translated by Google) A place where you can eat or make reservations to celebrate birthdays, it is very similar to a Parisian cafe, small, perhaps for only 30 or 35 people sitting inside, loaded with decoration but with good taste where white predominates, (in This is quite different from any French restaurant or bar), it is rich and delicate, but I do not recommend the Parisian fruit induction, etc., it costs twice as much as a normal tea and is not as appetizing as one imagines when reading it on the letter. (Translated by Google) A nice experience in a high quality coffee and pastry. The renovation of the place is noticeable, creating a pleasant atmosphere. We were 4 people. An Ambassador brunch was ordered to share between 2 people and a promotion of the day with the option to choose (I ordered a salty chicken crepe with caramelized onions with herbs) a drink (I ordered squeezed orange juice) and coffee with a slice of cake. All very delicious and abundant. Affordable prices. Clean facilities. Super recommended. Precios accesibles. Instalaciones limpias. Super recomendables.
