Las Violetas is a 19th-century cafe and restaurant that exudes elegance and grandeur, maintaining its timeless charm with bronze columns, stained glass windows, and impeccably dressed waiting staff. This iconic establishment offers a taste of Buenos Aires' Golden Age, serving high tea with a spread of sweet and savory delights in an atmosphere that harks back to a bygone era.
Beautiful old craftsmanship in this restaurant. Had coffee and medialunas special. Treated very friendly as a solo diner. Good food as well.
Dawana D — Google review
Completely honest review. The place itself it’s nice and the service it’s good, now the food it’s just ok, the pastries were mostly dry and even a bit old, nothing great.. much better pastry shops in Buenos Aires for that price and even cheaper. It’s an experience and I think you pay for that, good to visit once but wouldn’t go back.
Val C — Google review
A true historical landmark of Buenos Aires. The architecture and ambiance harkens to the end of the 19th century when it was built. With over 30K reviews on google maps, very little else could be said about Cafe las Violetas. But I will add this, the food and pastry are hearty and delicious, reminiscent of home-cooked meals. I will also add that it is a must-visit item on your sightseeing itinerary of the city.
Anas K — Google review
This is one of the emblematic cafés in Buenos Aires, making it a “must visit.” However, in our experience, it was extremely overrated. We got a table quickly. Our servers were friendly and the service was fast - this was the only good part of our experience. We ordered the mixed sweet-savoury merienda for $50,000 ARS. For the price, one would expect top-notch quality. That simply wasn’t the case. The savoury platter was better than the sweet one - but it was “meh” at best. The cakes and pastries tasted old and stale. I’ve bought better-tasting cakes at Costco and Metro in Canada.
Mina T — Google review
The service could have been a little more attentive, like cleaning up the plates when we were done and ask then if we would like to order anything else. We were talking for half an hour over dirty plates until i finally waved the waiter and asked him to take the plates and to bring me some tea. He was very nice but I think waiters there should be trained to be proactive , approach the table from time to time and ask if the guests need anything even after they serves the order.
Elena — Google review
The interior is beautiful, and that alone makes the place worth a visit. But that’s the only reason you’ll have. The menu options are limited, the desserts are average, and the place itself is very packed and therefore quite noisy. You’ll hardly be able to have a relaxed conversation in a comfortable setting here. Prices are moderate.
Rinoa R — Google review
This is a must-visit coffee place in Buenos Aires! It vibes with its history and it takes you to other times. It’s not a modern coffee shop - but it brings its greatness to the present. Staff were friendly although moving a lot considering the place was busy. About the food, the juice and the cappuccino were great! - The grapefruit juice was abundant (see the pic) and it was super fresh. Cappuccino was also a nice size and delicious. The Avocado toast wasn’t as great as others I’ve tried but it was good. I don’t know if other stuff of the menu was better, I usually always ask the Avocado Toast for comparison to other places and because I really like it - I’d recommend making it a little different, maybe adding some tomato cherries or trying a different presentation with something that elevates it a little bit. I spent 10000 pesos Argentinos (January 2024) (remember I order juice, cappuccino and a plate)

Cafe con leche and medialunas were delicious. The building and its atmosphere was a nice trip to an historic part of the city. Loved it.

Bakery
Atelier Fuerza is a charming bakery that offers a delightful selection of Argentine bread and pastries. Their honest, high-quality bread and fresh take on traditional treats like alfajores make it a must-visit. The bakery features about six fixed bread items and pastries, along with unique daily specials. While their coffee selection is limited, the quality is top-notch. Visitors rave about the delicious medialunas and facturas, as well as the friendly service provided by the staff.
best sourdough! Also has amazing coffee, they have limited options but it was delicious! They don’t have oat milk or almond milk, but regardless the coffee ☕️ was amazing and I didn’t have any problems with the milk they used. The medialunas were also very delicious! I highly recommend this bakery if you’re in the area!
Ana — Google review
A year overdue, but… Best sweet bread I’ve tasted in my entire life. The white chocolate covered alfajor melts in your mouth like butter. Medialunas had the best bite to them feeling almost like a thick piece of meat. Hands down amazing options and flavors. Can’t find anything like this in Arizona here in the states.
Javi N — Google review
God lord!!!! So so good 🤤 Next level quality with helpful and kind staff 🙏 Ricotta and quince tart and two medialunas that were more like croissants with a base that seemed to be lightly brushed with syrup... I'm hooked; everything was exceptional quality and delicious. ARS2800
Pheona B — Google review
nice place, great sour bread, though medialunas aren’t my type (too wet and too sugary). prices are quite high as well
Liza S — Google review
Tiny bakery, best medialunas ever
Alex M — Google review
Very unique and tasty. We went there without planning. The guy was very friendly and we liked the bread he recommended us.
Shahaf S — Google review
Amazing little breadery. They have a small selection of about 6 fixed bread items, and then about 6 fixed pastries; on top of that they usually have one or two wild items that they'll only have for that day. Everything is super tasty! They also serve a coffee which is just ok, but serving coffee seems more like a cheeky addition, rather than an actual product.
Camilo S — Google review
Excellent bread freshly delivered daily about 10:30 BUT they are closed Sun-Mon. Some of the breads are made of naturally fermented sourdough and these are the best IMHO. They also have wonderful french pastry cakes, perhaps less healthy then their bread but definitely worth the calories. Very nice staff speaks English.

Bakery
Daniel Bakery is a charming little bakery in Buenos Aires that's known for serving some of the best croissants in the city. The pastries are described as being on another level, with thin, crispy layers of golden-brown perfection. The glass counter inside displays a variety of pastries, each filled or topped with something special. Customers rave about the buttery and scrumptious croissants that are generously filled.
This bakery came highly recommended for having the best croissants, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! We tried the pistachio croissant, which had the perfect balance of creamy filling and pistachio flavor, and an apricot Danish with a subtle almond layer. Both were absolutely fantastic! I can’t wait to come back and try more flavors.
Stefana V — Google review
Very delicious chocolate croissant filled with caramel. Freshly baked. Croissant baked perfectly and very generously topped. 4000 pesos for a croissant, so quite pricey. Sugar overload!
Commando M — Google review
The often imitated (by like every sub-par, instagram worshipping bakery in BA) but never duplicated, original stuffed croissants. Good quality, visually appealing and fairly priced. I also like the plain old croissants they sell. Get the fresh ones off the rack!
Jay — Google review
The best croissants in the city. Different tastes, always a win. Coffee is good as well. Super friendly and guest-oriented. Love it!
Irine F — Google review
You don't often come across this expertise in croissant making. Out of this world, possibly the best croissants I've ever had! The price is a bit higher than others, but worth every cent. The pistachio creme one is paradisiac. Look nowhere else for your breakfast.
Cristian G — Google review
Fabulous and creative pastries! I especially loved the pistacio croissant. We enjoyed sitting on the sidewalk patio with our treats.
Caroline A — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing! There are so many different types of croissants with different types of fillings. All of them look so good. The pistachio cream croissant was recommended (as the most popular flavor), and it was SOOO GOOD! I also had an ice latte to accompany the croissant, which was also very tasty. *Follow me if you want to see my reviews on other restaurants/cafes in BA*
KayKay W — Google review
This bakery is fabulous, I cannot stress how good their special pastries are. I couldn't finish a croissant by myself because of how buttery, scrumptious and full of filling they are. But that won't indicate it's not good - it's just super big, full on filling. I had their famous pistachio croissant. Oh my god, the patissiere is very light, and the pistachio cream, it's like a white chocolate Nutella with pistachio. It is delicious, really. The flakiness, buttery taste of a fresh croissant. Their coffee is good, but I didn't quite dig the almond milk. I think these treats are great to share with people, just four croissants to bring somewhere and everyone would enjoy. You can see people making and filling the fresh croissants in front of you (they have flavors such as patissiere, mango, raspberry, chocolate) and you can have your bite and your sip on the sidewalk seats. Give it a try!

The café features a bookshelf of vintage Argentine cookbooks and offers a moody ambiance with original wood bar and tiled floor. It is run by budding restaurateurs Kenya Ama and Alejo Benitez, who also own the old school pizzeria El Lunfardo across the street. Visitors have praised the quality of the patisserie, describing it as luxury and made with love.

(Translated by Google) A restaurant and cafe with a seasonal menu in the Villa del Parque neighborhood. I went on a Wednesday at 5 p.m., and there were plenty of free tables. The counter features freshly made products and several sweet and savory options. 📋 We ordered: 🫖 Hibiscus Iced Tea $4,400 ☕️ Iced Latte $4,300 🧀 Chipa $4,800 🥥 Cocada $4,000 🫖 The tea was delicious. I feel like it needed a little more hibiscus flavor. It comes with a thin slice of lemon. ☕️ The latte was good. 🧀 The chipa was very good, one of the most delicious things I had this afternoon. The portion is large and the filling is fluffy. It arrived warm. 🥥 The cocada is a coconut cone filled with dulce de leche. Delicious. Both drinks come in glass cups, which I find a bit small, plus they add a lot of ice, and it ends up being a bit of a drink. I'm disappointed that they don't offer almond milk when it's listed on the menu, and when I asked for lactose-free milk, they told me they only have whole milk. They have a seasonal menu that changes throughout the year. The dishes look very good and are a good size. You can find it in their Instagram highlights @argotcafe. 🏠 The space inside is narrow, with a couple of tables inside and a couple of tables outside. The atmosphere is beautiful. They have an open kitchen and a counter full of delicious products made that day. They welcome you with a complimentary bottle of water. 🐶 It's pet-friendly, and there's a very friendly greyhound wandering around the tables. I'll come back for lunch. Ninina Bakery in Buenos Aires is a spacious and airy cafe that's perfect for brunch. It offers a variety of delicious cakes, salads made with fresh ingredients, strong coffee, and a lovely ambiance. The brunch menu is highly recommended for those looking to indulge in a satisfying meal. Additionally, the cafe provides a great setting for catching up with friends or working on your laptop.
I was lucky enough to live very close to this bakery/cafe during my memorable three and a half months in Buenos Aires. It is spacious with a glass pane showing the full kitchen at the back. The staff were all super friendly and I had breakfast 3 or 4 times a week. I tried a few other places but their coffee and medialunas were unmatchable. Not to mention many of their other breakfast items. Everything tasted fresh, alive and well balanced in flavour. I will miss the the staff who I got to know well, the relaxing atmosphere and delicious food. An incredible memory to take back home.

It was my 1st time eating here and I was very happy with my meal. I ordered the egg croissant with avocado, kale and aioli and It was delicious. The iced caramel latte was also super nice. We speak very little Spanish but our waitress was super nice and patient with us as we ordered. The surroundings were very clean and our order arrived timely. We will definitely visit again as we are here for 7 weeks. Thank you Ninina staff for a wonderful breakfast.

Tipical chain cafe. Food: quite a lot of options for food and for desert. I took chicken salad and oh boy was it fridge-cold, tasteless. This chicken for sure had grad-grand-children. Desert was meh. Generic. Service: usual. Atmosphere: kinda cold. It's big, bright and generic. Nothing to catch an eye. It has tables outside, but same thing.

It’s one of the new wave coffee shops; actually not only a coffee shop but also a bakery where they have their own open kitchen to bake their delicious pastries. We had a breakfast with avocado toast and scrambled egg; with tea and fresh pressed fruit juice and paid 10160 Argentine Peso. They have a lovely staff.

Warning!! My bag with wallet and documents was stolen INSIDE of this cafe. Waiters were very suspicious, they couldn’t remember the order and came and asked again and again missed positions from the order. When I realized my bag was stolen and a police came, the manager said the camera that was on us didn’t work and the outside camera didn’t work either. The table was next to the cashier and it’s a good question - why didn’t the camera work specifically at that area? I highly recommend everyone to avoid visiting this place if you want to keep your things. Stay safe.

Cocu Boulangerie is a casual French bistro located in Buenos Aires, offering an extensive selection of sweet and savory baked goods, pastries, brunch classics, and coffee. The bakery prides itself on its diverse range of croissants and viennoiseries, featuring both classic options like almond croissants as well as more adventurous flavors such as chocolate and pear or lime croissants.
Best bakery in the city. There’s gotta be at least a stick of butter in each croissant and they are out of this WORLD 🥐😋🌎 The cappuccino is solid though not life changing. Nice place to do work, lovely staff, and again, get those croissants you won’t be disappointed!

We had an amazing brunch with lots of nice food - we couldn't decide what to order because everything looked super tasty, especially the pastries!! Our waitress Ruth was very attentive and the atmosphere was super cozy. Can recommend!
Louisa V — Google review
I want to start off by saying the food was great. However, service was extremely lacking. We walked in without a greeting, did not get any attention from staff until about 15 minutes later, when our waitress brought the menu. The waitress then did not come back for our order until about 20 minutes later when I managed to get her attention while she was in the back. We ordered 3 dishes 2 coffees and 2 cups of water. We did not get our water nor the coffees until after the food was ready about 45 minutes after we walked in. Our waitress went on break prior to us getting anything on our table including water and coffee and without checking in with us to ensure our satisfaction. I really hope the negative experience with the service is a one off because the food was fantastic.

Very nice and quaint coffee shop. Relaxed atmosphere with great coffee and pastries. Lau was very friendly and helpful and he recommended the berry pastry and it was incredible! One of the best pastries I’ve ever had! Will definitely be coming back!

Loved this restaurant. They had the best croissants I could find in Buenos Aires. Their goulash was superb also. They have a lot options on their menu and sometimes have entertainment, such as bands, in the evening as well during the week. Their coffee is great too. Highly recommended.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is great. The chocolate eclairs must be tried but there are many other wonderful pastries. Update - there is now full table service. In the past you had to go up and order. This formed a bottle neck. Now they come and take your order at the table. They have knocked many items off their menu but there is still quite a selection. A recent trip here we were served extremely well by Mari An!.

Restaurant
Located on Caseros Avenue in San Telmo, Buenos Aires, Hierbabuena is a pioneer restaurant offering an organic dining experience. The establishment boasts a diverse gastronomic selection and a cozy atmosphere with rustic wood and wine from independent producers. It's known for its homemade food, including pastas, ice cream, preserves, dressings, jams, and bread without artificial preservatives or additives. The menu is predominantly vegetarian with the exception of organic chicken as an animal protein option.
I visited this restaurant some time ago while in Buenos Aires, and as I was looking through my pictures, I realized I had mentioned it on my Instagram but never wrote a proper review. The ambiance was fantastic, the staff incredibly friendly, and the prices very reasonable. As a committed vegan, I was thrilled with the wide variety of vegan options on the menu. I went there twice for lunch The first time, I tried the Pizza Black, which was absolutely incredible. When I asked how they achieved the dark color of the dough, they explained it was made with cocoa powder—a creative touch that I loved. On my second visit, I had the vegan fettuccine, which was equally delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Buenos Aires!

We had a wonderful dining experience at this Hierba buena and beautifully decorated restaurant. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and taken care of by Agustina, who provided exceptional service throughout the evening. The ambiance was charming and relaxed, perfect for an intimate dinner. We started with a comforting bowl of soup and delicious homemade bread. For the main course, the veggie burger with roasted carrots and fresh greens was flavorful and beautifully plated. Everything felt wholesome and thoughtfully prepared.

Attentive staff, gluten-free and vengan options. Healthy and delicious! A great way to get away from all the restaurants that only have red meat. Take a break and enjoy other delicious healthy meals! The smoothies are delicious too!
Marta A — Google review
The place is great, design is old and beautiful, food is delicious. Lemonade is also good. I would prefer to see more new vegetarian options in the menu!
Polina L — Google review
So good we came back again a few days later! A lot of vegetarian options which was good for a member of our group, but meat options as well. The lemonades were refreshing and I enjoyed the starter soup everyone got. From what we ordered over two lunches, we loved the tomato tarte tatin, salmon curry, fried chicken, and salmon ravioli. The only miss was the chicken avocado sandwich, I would just stick to the main menu. Pricey compared to other restaurants in BA (about $80 USD for two entrees, two lemonades, a water, and an appetizer) but very worth it for a splurge meal!
Molly H — Google review
We loved Hierbabuena inside and out. The food is exceptional, a true blend of rich, natural, and vibrant ingredients with a beautiful sense of taste and flavour. A piece of art in its most natural and simple form, without any paraphernalia, yet exquisite, authentic, and full of care. Meeting Bankski, the chef, and connecting with the staff was the cherry on the cake, simple people who clearly love what they do and feel part of the art they create. Not to be missed if you’re in San Telmo, Buenos Aires.
Marta F — Google review
I recently visited Hierbabuena, and my experience was a mixed bag. The ambience was excellent, but the food was hit-or-miss. My wife's shrimp Chinese dumplings and mushroom ravioli were delicious, and the roasted eggplant spread was a nice touch. However, her second order of dumplings was uncooked, which was disappointing. As for my meal, I was thoroughly unimpressed. The eggplant sandwich was soggy and lacked flavor, with a combination of eggplant, avocado, and untoasted bread that didn’t come together well. When I asked to substitute my entrée, I was told I would still be charged for it. I expressed my disappointment, but the staff didn’t seem very receptive. I gave them another chance and ordered the chicken dish, but it was equally underwhelming. The crisp chicken was served on top of a mousse, which made the dish feel too wet and unbalanced in texture. Overall, Hierbabuena offers a pleasant atmosphere and some good dishes, but the experience felt a bit unreliable. With more consistency in food quality and attentiveness in customer service, it has the potential to be a much stronger dining option.

Confitería Ideal, a historic two-storey building that once sold luxurious European home wares, now houses a charming café. The ground floor offers morning coffees and afternoon tea, while the first floor hosts milongas and dance classes. Visitors are greeted with friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. The café also caters to vegetarians and offers tempting cakes and pastries displayed in glass cabinets that used to showcase fine goods.
From the moment you walk in the door, you are taken care of. The place is stunning and they really have maintained this place [since 1912]. They had a wide variety of desserts.. hard to pick since they all looked scrumptious. We all loved our food and drinks. The service was top-notch with the delicious food and ambiance to boot. The pricing is about what you would expect for this type of place. Next time I will try to tea time with friends. Don't skip this place when in Buenos Aires. Highly recommend!

This place is so beautiful and such good places like this are really hard to find these days. The atmosphere is really out of this world, like the place is still in 1912. The food was great, warm and just fabulous. The service was Great, no wait time, almost nothing unpleasant. I recommend this place highly for people who want to enjoy a special one time experience. A bit expensive but it is worth it.

I had a quick snack before my flight and hostess was very helpful when I asked for a recommendation. Food was great and the owner walks around and talks to customers. Very nice guy. I recommend this place not just because of history and architecture but also service.

It is impressive to see the details of the building and how much history has been well preserved at this cafe. They offer traditional breakfast menu which of course, medialunas, tostados, and cafe. Sparkling water is provided if you order cafe - very nice touch! It might take a while for the waiter to come to you and take your order. However, patience will give you a wonder experience of Argentine breakfast or merienda.

A beautifully renovated Confiteria in Buenos Aires. The interiors are stunning. When it’s full the vibe is like in the old days. The food and coffee is delicious. It’s a bit pricey, but at least for tangueros, this is a legendary place. This is where you could see Javier Rodriguez dancing with Geraldine Rojas in the film “Tango salón, confitería La Ideal” with Pupi Castelo.

Must try restaurant. Ask for Rogelio. The coffee here is in its own category. The menu feels like you are ordering from a movie. I’m not a big sweets person but I had to try everything. Make sure to get the cafe de le maestro. You won’t be disappointed

Such a fancy café — feels like stepping into an old aristocrat’s home! I didn’t expect much from the desserts, but they were actually delicious and not overly sweet. Just a bit pricey, though

Found this place as a breakfast place but it is really a high tea spot, I.e. loads of sweets and finger sandwiches. There was one scrambled eggs on the menu which I ordered and ngl it was the best scrambled eggs I ever had in my life. They only have cow’s milk, and no americano so I convinced the waiter to add water to my espresso so I can have a black coffee. Also ordered a baguette (ham and cheese) which was sooo good and extremely large. I would say share a breakfast here and be prepared for cow’s milk. The venue itself was gorgeous and the staff are super polite and helpful.

I loved it. Food isn’t brilliantly cooked. Not far from school food standard. I went for dinner and maybe coffee/ pastries are their strengths? Staff are a bit disinterested to begin with. But once you settle into the pace and style (it’s a bit New York in attitude) it’s great. Don’t come for the food necessarily at night (can’t comment on the cool looking pastries and coffee machines) but the vibe is really good. Also really good value.

So I speak only English with him. I wait food for long time 40minutes for 1 steak only! And end of service waiter ask me for tip. I give 10dollar to him and thats my last time there. Not gonna comeback! Poor service!

I was quite frankly disgusted and appalled by the service of the Florida Garden Staff. My wife had prepared a bottle of milk for our son after a long flight. At first the staff said sure until they realised they couldn’t „sell“ us the water as the bottle was already made. They then proceeded to ignore her and when she talked to them. I can’t rate the food but on human decency they don’t deserve any better rating than 1*

Not sure why this is categorized as hotel because it was a restaurant. The waiters all dress up in white and they have displays of a lot of sweets. The restaurant seemed to be in a rough condition and the waiters are not really attentive and nobody might talk to you when you walk in. The food wasn’t bad considering how touristy restaurants here suck. This place has edible tasty food.

Famous for its traditional Italian baked goods, sweets and pastries, Farinelli is a popular place to stop by for a quick lunch or afternoon snack. The cafe has two convenient locations in Palermo - one on the main square in front of the cathedral and another next to the Recoleta Police Station. Both venues offer ample seating, great views and delicious pastries, cakes, tarts and other treats. The bakery also sells fresh salads and sandwiches made with their own ingredients.

Went here twice. The first time the service didn’t impress me, because 1) it took too long for us to order and 2) when our food and drinks came, part of the order + cutlery was missing and we had to ask for it. The second time the service was done by Lucho and it was such an improvement. Basically everything you’d expect, service was quick and correct and he was super friendly. The food is good and the location is very nice.

Dos Escudos is a bakery and café in Buenos Aires, Argentina that specializes in classic Argentinian pastries and sweets. The café's interior and atmosphere aren't necessarily memorable, but if you're around the area it's worth a visit. There are tortas, croissants, donuts, churros etc. all oozing with dulce de leche from every pore. It can get busy at times, but it's a great little cafe for lunch.
Im afraid living next to this place has cost us a pant size. I have probably tried everything and everything is absolutely delicious - the cakes, the medialunas, the freshly prepared to-go food. I am in love 😊

Dos Escudos is both a cafe and a pastry shop. This review is about the bakery and pastry shop, which is our favorite "high end" patisserie in Buenos Aires. High end because it is more expensive than most, but not by much, and especially because the quality of the confectionery is just outstanding, both in terms of ingredients and preparation. The raspberry cake with chantilly cream is absolutely to die for and the Sandwiches de miga are second to none. The store is most often packed (always a good sign) but you take a number so there is no need to stand in line and wait for your turn in a crowd. Service is very attentive and the old ambience of the place adds to the charme. If you want to bring a cake to a dinner, they also come beautifully packaged.

My favorite coffee in Recoletta! They have the best homemade almond milk in the area and their flat whites are to die for. The California sandwich is essentially the same as Kyoto sandwich, a bit underwhelming for the price, but the cinnamon roll was totally worth it. Pretty good coffee, but not great. Especially not for the price. I know it’s specialty coffee, but I feel like it’s hard to justify asking €3,80 for a double espresso. I didn't like it at all when a homeless person came in to ask for hot water to make soup, and the person charging him said he was "compromising." I won't be back; I hope they reconsider these deals. No one should be denied a glass of hot water... especially in winter, when people are literally freezing to death. (Original) Los productos son excelentes, acordé a los precios elevados que manejan. No me gustó para nada que entró una persona en situacion de calle para pedir agua caliente para hacerse una sopa y la persona que cobra le dijo que lo "compromete". Las Medialunas del Abuelo is a hidden gem that truly deserves more recognition for its delightful offerings. While many enjoy croissants, none quite compare to the buttery softness of their medialunas. These pastries are perfect for breakfast or as a snack, with kids often devouring several at once due to their light and airy texture. Although they may be on the smaller side—easily finished in just two bites—the flavor is rich without being overly sweet.
This is the place for the medialuna-- not certain wether medialunas is specific or general, as in, pastry or cinnamon, but these are good, the standard one being the best, light and fluffy The father and are wonderfully friendly

I returned to BA after many years and was sad to see that the quality of pastries had diminished greatly but I found their butter medialunas to be the best I tasted during my two months trip here. They offer them with and without syrup. Both are delicious. Because they airy and light, you will end up eating a lot of them. You have been warned 😉. Lovely people tending the bakery. We came back many times.

Everyone in my family loves the medialuna de manteca. My kids can eat 3-4 pieces either for breakfast or snacks. Their medialunas are so buttery soft and not too sweet. I wish though they were slightly bigger as they are a bit small and you can finish one in two bites! The place is just a typical bakery where you order the breads and have them to go as there’s no place to sit. I will surely miss their medialunas when we leave BA!

(Translated by Google) I haven't eaten this brand in so many years that I bought them with high expectations, and THEY WERE HORRIBLE. They looked ugly, as if they were old and poorly risen, with a fermented yeast taste. Ugly, ugly!!! The staff served me well, but the appearance was nothing like other "grandpa's croissants." They looked old. I feel like the brand doesn't supervise its franchises. I'm Argentine, I live in another country, and I wanted to treat myself, my brother, and my husband. But they've killed the taste memory I had of these croissants. And on top of that, they're VERY EXPENSIVE. (Original) Hace tantos años que no comía esta marca que las compré con toda la expectativa y ESTABAN HORRIBLES Feas como si estuvieran viejas y mal leudadas, gusto a levadura fermentada. Feas feas!!! Nestled in the historic San Telmo neighborhood, Obrador de Panes & Galletas exudes charm and comfort from the moment you step inside. The bakery boasts mismatched chairs, vintage decor, and the inviting aroma of freshly baked bread. This corner restaurant takes pride in crafting nearly everything in-house, from furniture to sauces and butter. Locals flock to its outdoor tables on weekends, creating a bustling atmosphere.
The tastiest, healthiest breakfast and lunch options! The chicken sandwich was our favourite and we’ve come back 3-4 times a week since finding Obrador a few weeks ago. Then there’s the incredible range of divine handmade / home baked cakes, pastries and biscuits which have to be experienced to be believed - A must, to enjoy with your coffee! The space is beautiful and the staff are so friendly and really enjoy what their doing which make the whole experience quite special! Thanks and all the best to the Obrador team 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️!

Such an amazing spot for breakfast or lunch. Their homemade quiche is delicious- pastry perfect and fillings are creative and unique. Great bread, brioche, cakes etc. The staff are super friendly and English/Spanish bilingual. Go there.

Everybody there looked remarkably cool. A real hummer. Edit: taking out one star cuz there's no soap in the bathroom. Not "out of soap" type of thing: no intent for there to be soap. Most unfortunate because it's a gem otherwise. Edit 2: too great a place to withhold a star. Just hold it back and don't go to the bathroom. It's worth it.

A real pearl on the border between San Telmo and Montserrat! Great selection of handmade products of finely selected ingredients. The coffee was just perfect! Minimal/vintage ( the latter without this candy-glaze kitch feature) interrior. Energizing ambient. Very-very nice staff.

Absolutely one of my favorite places in Buenos Aires. Definitely the best homemade bread in the city. To die for bread. And the price per loaf in takeaway is extremely fair. Then wonderful homemade desserts. Don’t go if you are on a diet though. Lol. The interior is decorated in lovely retro style with adorable vintage furnishings. Lievito Madre is a culinary gem that truly embodies passion in every detail. Owned by Nicolas Yernovoy, this delightful bakery has gained a loyal following on Instagram for good reason. The star attraction here is undoubtedly the croissants, which come in an array of stunning and unique flavors that change every weekend—perfect for those who love to explore new tastes!
Incredibly good pastries. Now my go-to place. Delicious. Someone was kind enough to give me help in English. Something must have changed. ALL cups and utensils are ONE use, so there is zero chance of dirt. Yes, expect a line at busy times. It is worth the wait. Really Really good. All new inside. Yum, yum.

Bought one pistacchio roll and a nutella + cream roll. Maybe I was too ambitious for expecting to feel any pistacchio or nutella taste, because it didn’t happen. The pistacchio roll is filled basically with pastry cream, while the nutella one is filled mostly with a similar cream that has a more sour taste. Also, I’m very disappointed to see, in the old photos posted by other people, that the nutella roll was really filled with nutella in the past.

Absolutely delightful pastries and very friendly staff! Their pistachio croissant is my favorite in Buenos Aires! They have amazing sourdough bread and other baked goods for takeout as well as a great rotating selection of delectable options for merienda.

Y’all just do not UNDERSTAND how amazing this is. We found them on instagram and decided to make the short walk from Palermo to here. You’re looking at about 2,000 pesos ($2.50 at the blue) for one of the biggest and tastiest pastries you’ve had in your life. Ask for the stuffed croissant or anything stuffed. Dulce de leche, pistachos, and even passion fruit. Do not miss this! Make it number one on your list to visit when in Buenos Aires.
Jon N — Google review
Really nice food, super tasty, nice for a quick meal
Alejandro K — Google review
Hands down the best French style laminated pastries in town, but with local flavor twists. The stars of the show are the croissant rolls (aka NY rolls), which you’ll find filled with anything from Nutella, pistachiella or local dulce de leche. Also available as alfa-rolls, as an homage to the local alfajor (dulce de leche filled cookie sandwich). There are only a few tables and a bar, so you can eat in while having a coffee or just take home if there’s no space. Pastries selection changes through the day as items run out, but new different items are replenished fresh.
Ben N — Google review
Went here yesterday, alongside my girlfriend. We had a ham and cheese medialuna, a piece of red velvet cake, a pistachio croissant, and a baguette to take home. To drink, my girlfriend had a latte, and I had a bottled orange drink. The food was, simply put, DELICIOUS. Seriously, this has got to be one of the best bakeries in Buenos Aires (the pistachio croissant, in particular, was amazing). The staff was extremely courteous, which they had to be, because the one downside of this place are the extremely long waiting times: we easily waited over 40 min, between the ordering line and waiting for our food. Granted, the place was packed, and the food was worth it, but the place would be near perfect if they managed to shorten the waiting time.

Malcriada BAKERY DE BARRIO is a popular spot in Palermo that has recently moved to a larger location. Known for reshaping classic treats, it offers delicious coffee and an array of baked goods, including white chocolate brownies with raspberries and fluffy cakes. Visitors can enjoy iced Americanos and big chunks of chocolate chip cookies while relaxing at the ample outdoor seating.
It is almost impossible to resist trying every single delicious pastry they have on display. A wide variety of both savory and sweet, ranging from fresh well-balanced sandwiches to delectable mouth-watering cakes and puff pastries. The atmosphere is cosy and warm, it complements very nicely the hearty and buttery flavors of the cookies and alfajores they offer. It easily ranks as one of the top cafes/bakeries in Palermo, as well as one of my favorite spots to sip a delicious coffee and read a book, and of course enjoy the desserts.

The coffee was delicious! Flat white was very good. I've always wanted to come here but every time i saw long lines and could never get in. Now they moved to a bigger place so I saw the opportunity to enjoy. I ordered a white chocolate brownie with white chocolate cream and raspberries on top. It was very big and very good. The brownie wasn't very gooey it was more of a fluffy cake. If you're a total fan of raspberry desserts this place is a must. They have lots of options with raspberry which in my case is one of my favorite fruits.

Everything here looks irresistible. I tried the chocolate dulce de leche cake my first time and it was amazing. The second time I went for the pepa de dram Jess and the vanilla/chocolate cookie. The cookie was one of the best I’ve ever had but the pepa was a bit dry. It’s definitely a pricey place, the cake being 13,500 pesos slice but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to try more.

Bicho Café de Especialidad Recoleta is a charming little café in Buenos Aires that offers a delightful selection of baked classics and expertly crafted coffees. Despite its small size, the café's precisely made coffees, such as the perfectly steamed latte served in handmade red clay mugs, are a must-try. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make it an ideal spot for serious coffee lovers to enjoy their favorite brews.
Came in for a quick pick me up in the evening before dinner, so I didn’t want to fill up. Only went for a flat white and no food, though their pastries looked good. Maybe next time. Coffee tasted great, though I would have liked it a bit warmer - but that’s on me for not asking ahead of time as this is quite normal for cafes in Buenos Aires.

I guess the owner served me because he feels entitled to take the customer to the absurd… When I ordered a croissant with coffee, he treated me like an idiot for not knowing exactly what they called the standard coffee (like in Italy, where you just ask for a coffee and they know what the standard is). The man seems to think he’s very successful. And the iron chairs on the sidewalk… My God! Elon Musk type of guy but without the billions of dollars, just a dirty little place right next to an avenue full of buses… After reading the bad reviews I now know which ones are the real reviews and which are not… Also very expensive, just go to Ninina, The Coffee Store that are cheaper, spacious, beautiful, clean…

The employees at Ada Café exude warmth and friendliness, adding a personal touch to each visit that makes you feel right at home amidst the urban hustle. When it comes to value, the café hits the sweet spot with prices that won't break the bank, making it a go-to for anyone looking to indulge in a coffee break without any guilt. The display of food and sweets is a feast for the eyes, and while I haven't sampled these treats personally, the buzz around them suggests they're as delightful to taste as they are to look at. The café's popularity is a double-edged sword; its allure draws in crowds, meaning you might find yourself waiting for a table more often than not. Additionally, the vibrant street life characteristic of Buenos Aires does not subside here, with the adjacent roads bustling with traffic and the city's soundtrack. While this adds to the lively atmosphere, it might detract from the experience for those seeking a quiet corner. In conclusion, if you find yourself in Buenos Aires with a craving for a good brew and a vibrant atmosphere, Ada Café is a must-visit. Just be prepared for a lively, and potentially noisy, café experience reflective of the city's soul.

So much so that I had to leave the merchandise because I was paying with QR to pay with a card and in a very bad way he told me that I could not choose a card in the application, I insisted to be able to pay even with a little more and increasingly worse he told me that I couldn't because I had to exceed 10 thousand and I was carrying 7 thousand, I understand that reserved payment can charge very high commissions, but today they lost a close customer. No doubt that the medialunes are amazing, crunchy and sweet on the outside and soft in the inside. The cheesecake was good. The cheese bourekas was my least favorite. It didn’t taste like cheese inside, more like tofu. I like that everything is not over sweetened. A bit pricey but these are the price at the moment.

The bustling streets offer a variety of dining options where travelers can savor authentic Buenos Aires dishes like Milanesa Napolitano or Brotola with vegetables.
We found this lovely little restaurant when we were looking for somewhere to eat before taking a tour at Teatro Colon. The staff was extremely warm and welcoming. Gustavo helped us order and was very patient while we attempted to practice our Spanish! We ordered the steak with fries and wine and the beef empanadas. Everything was delicious. Plus, we started off with bread and a dip that was so tasty. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great local restaurant in the heart of Buenos Aires

The people working at this place are extremely friendly and lovely. They helped me to order and choose food over the menu. I tried the steak with the wine on it. The steak was more cooked than I would like to. I’m not sure if that is how it’s usually done in Argentina. I also didn’t like the wine as a sauce. The chips that come with the steak are absolutely amazing though.
Hussein A — Google review
This restaurant was close to Teatro Colon and we were looking for a well rated restaurant before our afternoon tour. They were very busy for lunch. We were served a basket of bread which was good since it took a while for our food to be served. They had good selection and the prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed our dishes. The staff were nice.

I'm an American traveling in Argentina and found my experience great. My Spanish isn't good, so it was awesome that they were able to accommodate me with an English menu and English-speaking staff. The Caesar salad I ordered was fantastic, and even the bread with grapefruit (I think) spread was amazing. The food was reasonably priced, especially compared to other nearby locations.

Amazing! I was looking for a highly rated restaurant in the area - this is certainly 5*. Emiliano recommended a plate off the menu and it was the best meal I've eaten in BA. I was also given a complimentary dessert which was also incredible. Cannot fault the food and friendly service, truly recommend.

I went here for lunch while on vacation. The man who runs the establishment was very patient with my broken Spanish and between that and his small amount of English we were able to have a great experience. The food was great, the portions were large, and the price was reasonable. It was so calm inside - I recommend this to anyone looking for authentic food.

Nice food and sort of genuine retro vintage atmosphere in this restaurant. When we got there the breads were still warm. They were freshly baked and very tasty. The main dishes were good too. I was looking for a decent steakhouse in the neighbourhood, but somehow ended up here - in a vegeterian/vegan restaurant, feels cosy, homey, it’s off the tourist frenzy. Nestled in a charming neighborhood, Rosie Café is the brainchild of Benedetti and pastry chef Nadia Rubianes Machi, blending their Argentine-Guarani heritage with French pastry techniques and Scandinavian influences. This delightful bakery and bistro offers an array of treats like corn muffins, croissants, marble cake, and sweet Danish brioche. The ambiance is cozy and inviting—perfect for those looking to unwind or work remotely with ample seating and reliable Wi-Fi.
An instant favorite! 😍 First of all, the vibes are immaculate. It feels so cozy and cute. They have ample seating and outlets, and the wifi works well if you want to work from there. They ask you to stay no more than two hours, but there weren't that many people when I went, and I ordered again, so it seemed flexible. I started off with a cold (but no ice) matcha latte with dairy-free milk, and it was so good. It had the perfect amount of sweetness already. Later on, I ordered the menu of the day. To make it vegan, I got the black bean, avocado, and strawberry salad with the strawberry lemonade and a piece of banana bread. This is the first banana bread I have tried here in Buenos Aires that rivals my own. The salad was so fresh. I'm inspired to recreate it at home. The strawberry lemonade was also quite good, not too sweet or tart. I was very impressed with everything I tried here and will definitely be back to try the rest of the vegan options on their menu. It was a bit on the pricey side (total came to 15000 pesos after a discount for paying in cash), but it was worth it. The menu del día at 11000 pesos was a great value.

(Translated by Google) A great lunch option on Saavedra. We spent around $65K and ordered two chicken sandwiches, a chipá, a Milanese with noodles (the dish of the day), and the Basque cake. The prices were very affordable for today, and the food was INCREDIBLE. Everything tasted homemade, with great ingredients. I highly recommend the same dishes I ordered. They also include a spectacular sourdough bread basket. A special mention for Tita, the restaurant's dog; she's a sweetheart and wanders around at a slow pace. The place also has a terrace, which unfortunately was occupied. I recommend going very early because the place fills up (we had to wait around 25/30 minutes). The only downside, with the greatest respect, is that on that day it was very windy/cold, and we were sitting right at the entrance, and a rather friendly little whistle was coming in under the door. Beyond that, I repeat that the food was fantastic.

I write this opinion because it is not the first time the same thing has happened to me. First of all, I say that the service is very good and friendly and the churros are fresh, crispy and very delicious, there are never any leftovers. Having mentioned this, I want to say that this is the second time that my order has been given wrong. Today I bought four dozen churros and 6 Berliners with a pastry maker. I wanted 2 dozen churros dipped in chocolate and two dozen unfilled churros, which they gave me: FOUR DOZEN STUFFED CHURROS!!! NOTHING TO SEE. I WANT TO CLARIFY THAT IT IS NOT IN SIGHT WHEN THEY PREPARE THEM. ON MY PART I WILL REVIEW EACH PACKAGE ON MY NEXT PURCHASE, BUT I WOULD EXPECT A LITTLE MORE ATTENTION TO THE ORDER. If you're a fan of the 90s, then VHS Café is the perfect spot to relive those nostalgic moments reminiscent of Friday nights spent at movie rental stores. While you can't actually rent any films here, the ambiance will transport you back in time. My wife and I stumbled upon this gem after spotting its inviting sign from afar, and we were instantly drawn in. The café not only serves delicious food but also offers generous portions at reasonable prices.
Such a cool coffee shop! They have an outdoor patio, indoor seating, wifi, friendly staff, great coffee and food! You get to soak up your childhood blockbuster memories and chat about your favorite movies (on a date or with friends?) that are on the walls. I had a medaluna and americano, but will try their food again + come back.

A little far from the Plaza Serrano area but well located. 📼 You walk in and it gives you a hit of nostalgia. They have all kinds of decoration that evokes the 90s. Shelves full of VHS, floppy disks on the tables, posters and even a Back to the Future hoverboard. A very fun experience to look for the VHS of your favorite movie on the shelves and take a photo. ☕️ The menu consists mainly of specialty coffee and a few things to eat. The day we went they had run out of some things on the menu. Prices are normal for the area. The service was good, we ordered and they immediately delivered everything, which gave us time to explore the place well afterwards. ♿️ The place is quite small. It has tables inside and outside. At the time we went there was plenty of space but at other times it could get more crowded. There are a couple of steps to get inside. (Original) 📍 Abrió hace pocos días. Incredible that a specialty cafe would run out of bread and be so calm about it. I wanted a simple toast and there was none. The issue is that the menu is super limited on top. The music has nothing to do with the environment. Except for the few VHS shelves there and 2 posters, I never felt like I was in a retro place.
