Youth hostel
America del Sur Hostel Buenos Aires is a vibrant and modern hostel located in the popular San Telmo neighborhood, making it convenient for exploring the city's main attractions. The hostel features colorful and contemporary decor, with communal areas where guests can play musical instruments, exchange books, or enjoy a cup of tea. Voted as the Best Hostel in Latin America multiple times, this recommended accommodation offers various private rooms and shared dormitories.
Great hostel, one of the best I've seen in my last 7 months of travel, the rooms sre really good, comfortable beds, privacy and separated shower and toilet, it also has a/C which is great. The areas are really good, I've spent some time watching Netflix in the basement but they also have billiard and other games, on the main floor you have a nice place to sit around or go out and stay outside which also has chairs and tables. They offer buffer breakfast which is great, I had the breakfast every day of my stay since it was really complete
Catalin — Google review
Staff was fantastic, especially Roman who had awesome recs and was generally just super helpful. Facilities were nice and clean. Definitely great for the price. Only complaints were that there weren't as many international backpackers as other hostels and, combined with the fact that they don't really do events (just the occasional tour), the vibe wasn't as social. I was in a dorm, which felt a bit small and, given there were no curtains, if someone was moving around in the middle of the night it seemed extra loud/distracting. Other than that, awesome. Will stay here again if I'm back in BA.
Tyler T — Google review
This is a terrific hostel in a prime San Telmo location walking distance to many of the spectacular attractions Buenos Aires has to offer. The hostel is surrounded by an abundance of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, fruit vendors and laundry facilities. I stayed for 14 days in a room with a private bathroom. My room was spacious, had plenty of storage space, an efficient air conditioning/heating system, a walk in shower with excellent water pressure and copious amounts of hot water. The hostel was very quiet overnight so I always had a good night's sleep. The staff at the hostel including the reception, kitchen and housekeeping staff were all friendly, professional and some were English speaking. There is an optional buffet style breakfast available daily for a nominal charge. The wifi reception here was excellent. All in all this was a very pleasant two week stay for a solo budget traveller and I would definitely stay here again when visiting Buenos Aires.
Peter K — Google review
[Check the prices on their website] Prices are overpriced at the reception. If on the official website 10$, on booking 11$. then at the reception you can be offered from 12 to 18$. I asked why, he told me because it’s a weekend. I said that the site has a different cost, and after that he made a disgruntled face, as if I had deceived him. It was a guy with long blond hair. Not suitable for nomads working in the morning for Europe! Their hall is closed in the morning until 7:00. It’s still cold there. They heat it during the day, and apparently save money at night. The rooms are good, but not all. In some beds the mattresses are old, spring, in others they are comfortable, new. Ask the reception in advance. There is shampoo, soap, conditioner. but either I was unlucky, or they have such a policy, in every room there must be either a snoring man, or his socks stink terribly. Despite the fact that they clean every day. Also billiards. He’s just in a disgusting state. No chalk, no cue nozzles. Kiy is killed. The table, too. You won’t be able to play normally. But it delivers its excitement, as if you are learning to play again. Reception depends on the day of the week. Good and friendly are a guy with glasses and a guy with an earring in his ear. The good one is chess and two spacious refrigerators.
Micha — Google review
Great hostel! Ideal location in San Telmo, keycard entry (and to operate the a/c at any time), staff were helpful with problems. Beds comfortable, shower small but fine. Communal kitchen wasn’t great but more an issue with guests than the cleaners.
Emily — Google review
Stayed here for 1night while on our way to palermo. Great location, clean rooms and comfy beds. We got a bunk bed room and each bed had its own plug/charging port & light which was nice. Quite hostel as well which was perfect as we needed a good nights rest. Nice shop located right next door to the hostel as well as a laundrette.
Mark B — Google review
This is a really modern and clean hostel fully equipped with a kitchen and even an asado BBQ outside. There are many social spaces and a pool table on the bottom floor. They also offer many group activities so it’s perfect for people who have just arrived to Buenos Aires. The staff are also really friendly and speak English.
Amelia M — Google review
Stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it! Located in San Telmo, the hostel is close to many good restaurants (and we received good recommendations from Roman on reception). Rooms were cleaned every day. All the staff were friendly. I would recommend staying here!

Nestled in the heart of Buenos Aires, Milhouse Hostel Avenue is a vibrant and legendary hostel that has become a favorite among backpackers. With its buzzing restaurant and bar, rooftop terrace, and complimentary breakfast, this down-to-earth hostel offers an electrifying atmosphere for young travelers seeking adventure and social connections. The trendy and modern decor reflects the lively spirit of the city, making it a magnet for those who thrive in social environments.
Great place for a solo trip! It surprised me in positive ways with how friendly their staff and other travelers were. They give free water and coffee and the best: free and good info about the city of Buenos Aires. The shared rooms are really clean and organized with fairly comfortable beds. Definitely worth the price. You find all sort of people here, people working remotely, people staying for the night for business, teenage travelers on a gap year or even old people getting to know the world. They are only 2 negative points I would find fair to share: first, for myself, who happened to be working remotely while traveling, I found hard to find a good outlet or even a quiet place to sit on the hostel since it seemed that the music was being played all around. Fair to say that the WiFi was good but even a small room or open space for people who need a quiet place to focus without needing to pay more for it would be welcomed on those situations. Second: segregation, talking with others you see that the staff is unlikely to put Europeans and South Americans in the same room, they don’t really say anything about it but it’s hard to tell that it isn’t on purpose, I was personally hoping it would be more mixed. Besides that, I would recommend this place for anyone who needs a comfortable bed for few days or a lot in CABA. The location is amazing and the rebuilt building from the 60s gives the place an incredible aura. I see different rooms get different reviews from people but if you stay at room 405, know you’re safe about privacy and bathroom quality. Thank you for the staying Milhouse!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Milhouse Hostel, and it was largely thanks to the incredible staff. The receptionists - Tina, Candy, and Alex - were extremely helpful and friendly throughout my entire visit. They consistently provided excellent advice on places to go and local attractions to visit, always being very attentive to my needs and questions. Tina, in particular, deserves special recognition for being exceptionally warm and welcoming. Her genuine hospitality really created a fantastic atmosphere that made the hostel feel like a home away from home. The entire reception team's dedication to helping guests have the best possible experience truly sets this place apart. I couldn't have asked for better service, and I would definitely recommend Milhouse Hostel to anyone looking for accommodation with outstanding staff who genuinely care about their guests' experience.

Milhouse was great! Such a lively community with great staff. Definitely a good introduction into Argentina if you just got off the plane in Buenos Aires. The rooms were nice with big storage lockers, the kitchen was well-maintained and had

As a solo female traveler, this hostel was a great option. It’s in a beautiful antique building and the rooms feel like home. Beds were the most comfortable. Housekeeping will tidy up the room during the day. They have a very clean and functional kitchen and the grocery store is right next door. Also, have FREE coffee in the morning. FREE luggage storage in the basement. The staff is friendly, especially Karen at the front desk. Karen went above and beyond to give me recommendations on what I should bring home for souvenirs (alfajores)…best idea ever! and always treated me with kindness. Thank you for a great stay!

Such a fantastic experience across all aspects! The room, location, service, bar and all the staff have been extremely kind, curious and courteous! There's always something to do along with friendly faces everywhere. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Buenos Aires! Special shoutout to Pasquale at the bar, great fella and was super funny/helpful with recommendations for the city and Argentina in general!
Vince T — Google review
Great hostel! Me and my partner booked a double room with ensuite and it was very spacious and cosy. The hostel is very central and provides great free breakfast included in the price. They also have a restaurant and coffee and pastry section. There are lots of activities and trips for a fee so you have lots of options. Great recommendations and very friendly staff! Would stay there again if I ever come back to Buenos Aires!
Liliya P — Google review
Great location, very close to obelisk and other attractions. Rooms are clean and the hostel offers lots of activities. The only downside - it was cold in the room.
Anna V — Google review
Milhouse Hostel is a very sociable hostel. There are many activities and excursions you can book. Volunteering and Spanish lessons are also offered. The hostel arranges different activities , such as going out together or karaoke. The staff is super welcoming and friendly, whether it is in the bar, for breakfast, or in the reception. They welcomed me with smiles and had lots of useful recommendations for Buenos Aires. If you would like to party, meet new people, be social, and have a good time, this is a great place. The hostel is huge and has many different rooms. Private rooms are located on the upper floor, away from the area with most noise. Breakfast can be purchased in the bar, and they are happy to store your bag after check out. All spoke well English and were very helpful. Thank you for a beautiful time :o)

Milhouse Hostel Hipo is a vibrant and social lodging option located in the heart of Buenos Aires. It offers a range of amenities including free breakfast, a guest kitchen, and a lively cafe/bar. The hostel caters to various traveler preferences, from solo adventurers to couples and digital nomads. With its airy dorm rooms equipped with individual secure lockers and comfortable mattresses, Milhouse Hostel Hipo ensures that guests have everything they need for a pleasant stay.
I had a great time staying here. Was here during the holidays and what really makes this hostel stand out is the people and its parties. The other milhouse hostel (which you have access to if you stay at this one) has a very busy bar. It was really convenient to party there at the start of the night to find a group to go clubbing with at the end of the night. The staff are also very nice and speak great English. I wonder if they try to rip you off though, like with low exchange rates.
Arnaud L — Google review
Staff are very helpful and friendly, there is a lot of volunteers who stay in Hipo usually, I stayed here for a few months while studying in BA Rooms are tidy, place us cleaned daily, and offers a laundry service at low cost Great for partying because Hipo is connected to the well known BA party hostel Milhouse Avenue
Cormac D — Google review
Avoid this hostel. Terrible value for money, and the hostel only allows you to pay the blue dollar rate so paying in cash isn't cheaper. I booked originally through hostel world and then extended in person and was charged $34 for 2 beds for the extra night (which is way more than hostel world) and they charged my card without telling me this price. The kitchen is barely useable, and the fridge had mouldy produce in it. The room had no air conditioning, despite the website saying they did, and for some reason they took all the sheets of the bed everyday, so we had to remake our beds every night (????). The location was nice and the roof terrace is was a lovely place to hang out, but there are so many hostels in Buenos Aires many of which are nicer!
Sam L — Google review
Staff are absolutely incredible. Perfect central location. Nice big lockers in room. Big airy rooms. Hostel conveniently offers city tours and experience (bit are not pushy). Nice little bar. Beautiful balcony for my 8 bed dorm. The street does have a few clubs so it can get a bit loud. The pillows aren't great.
Gary L — Google review
I stayed here while working remotely in BA. I think this is probably the best place if you want to spend a few weeks in BA while working remotely. They have an office right above the lobby. It has pretty fast internet. It's also pretty quiet for a conference call. I booked for a month and I got a good deal on it. I'd stay here again next time.
Ben Z — Google review
Incredibly friendly staff. Well organized tours and nightly party activities. Staff cleans everyday and it is as clean as it can possibly be with 6 females sharing the same space. It felt a touch crowded but not unbearable in any way. I would stay here again with no problem. Kudos to the front check in staff. They were bombarded with a large crowd all at the same time and they handled it very professionally.
Connie H — Google review
The staff speaks very good and clear english. They helped a lot with recommendations of things to do around the city. The bathroom was clean most of the time and the bed sheets and cover provided were also clean. The activities organized by the hostel are really interesting and fun, the parties they do help a lot to meet other solo travellers. The rooms are spacious and they have big lockers that can hold lots of stuff. The place is well located in the city center close to public transportation. The only downside is the lack of charging socket next to the top bunk beds.
Mahmoud K — Google review
Luckily we were top floor so the room was reasonably quiet on 2/3 nights. Our final night we were due up at 6am and the other guests were just heading to bed having sat outside rooms playing music etc all evening meaning a pretty terrible sleep. If noise was kept to the bar area it would have been better. Basic rooms as expected, bed not the best.

Youth hostel
Play Hostel Arcos is a laid-back and casual hostel situated in the heart of Palermo Soho, housed in a charming Gothic building with artistic vitraux glass windows. The hostel offers both private and shared bathrooms, as well as amenities such as a shared kitchen, vibrant terrace, TV lounge, and even yoga classes.
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Coni, who works as a Personal Relations Manager at Play Hostel Arcos From the very moment I interacted with her, it was clear that she possesses a natural talent for creating meaningful connections and ensuring every guest feels valued. Coni's professionalism is impeccable. She approaches her role with enthusiasm, genuine care, and exceptional attention to detail. Whether it was handling special requests, resolving concerns, or simply brightening someone’s day with her warm personality, she made everything seem effortless. Her ability to anticipate needs and go above and beyond is truly remarkable. What sets Coni apart is her empathetic nature and the personal touch she brings to her work. She doesn't just see guests as visitors but treats them as part of the extended family of the hotel. It's rare to meet someone who can juggle efficiency with such heartfelt sincerity. Coni is undoubtedly a gem in her field, and anyone lucky enough to meet her will instantly see why she stands out. My favourite events were the empanada night and the mate tasting. The best part was her idea of interoperating improv so that other people can understand and speak Spanish.
Moiz A — Google review
The first thing worth mentioning is that Coni does a really nice job organizing events for the guests. She is very kind and works really hard to give the guests a good experience. The hostel itself is good. The beds were comfortable and the rooftop terrace is a nice touch as well.
Anthony G — Google review
Staff is so helpful, polite and are always eager to help you out. Location is incredible to move throughout the city. Rooms and the other facilities are always clean, incredibly clean to be honest. The coordinador for activities(Cony) is such a nice woman, she’s always trying to give everyone a good time. The only downside is the sizes of bathrooms and kitchen, they can be very tiny.
Bruno B — Google review
This is a really good place to stay, it's clean, safe and the staff is really kind. Especially Cony, she organizes the free activities and creates a nice environment to have a good time. I definitely recommend this hostal
Irasema V — Google review
Lovely atmosphere, nice rooftop tarrace, very friendly staff. Lovely neighbourhood. Unfortunately we had bedbugs (room 10). However the staff was very helpfull, know exactly what to do. They gave cream to put on the bites, payed for the laundry and refunded the night we didn't use (since we obviously wanted to switch). They told the cleaning team and they knew how to handle it too, they had a special spray for the stuff that could not get washed. This was helpfull. In the end: very unpleasant experience but the staff made it less awefull, thank you all! If no bedbugs I would recommend it.
Anne — Google review
Cony, the activity coordinator was friendly and helpful in the Mate class and Spanish language class. The hostel staff was also kind and supportive. The breakfast was included and it was delicious! One of the best, if not the best, hostels in the world! Muchas Gracias!
BladingB — Google review
My stay here was amazing. Everyone I met here was so welcoming and fun. My highlights staying here all involve the activities Cony had us doing, from karaoke to making mate. She definitely enhanced the experience of staying at this hostel.

The Circus Hostel & Hotel is a great option if you're looking for a fun, modern hostel in the bustling San Telmo district of Buenos Aires. This hostel features stylish dorms and private rooms, as well as a sun deck area surrounded by terraced gardens perfect for relaxing in the late afternoon or early evening. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making this an excellent choice for travelers looking to explore Buenos Aires without breaking the bank.
Spend one week here in JuNe 2025. All is okay. Very quite place for sleeping, without noise. The only stressing thing is that kitchen dishes are very poor, there are no good pots and pans made of stainless steel or cast iron. All skillet pots and pans are made of pure aluminum, this is the only thing that torments me. All rooms are very clean, and toilets absolutely clean, and bed sheets and all is white and clean, this is so good thing ))) Lovely place on the roof to make a stretching. I miss a pull-up bar here ))) Maybe they spent much money for putting paper towels everywhere, maybe cheaper is to put electric hand dryer or give towels?))) San Telmo area is nice for walking, and price here in hostel is suitable. Thank you dear staff))) #ionkinberg #cerebrolog

Room is okay, smellsna bit like humidity. Bathroom okay, but looks like an old hospital bathroom. Hot shower works. There is a kitchen with a terrace on the rooftop. It was too cold to use the pool but great asset for hot days. The staff (except one lady) was unfriendly. Good value for money due to the location though.
Alex C — Google review
It was everything we needed. This was a last minute accommodation and we were glad to stumble upon it. Very clean and lovely common area for relaxing and an outdoor pool. Couldn't find a better bargain for your buck along with the great location. Would return if possible.
Danielle F — Google review
Located in a safe neighborhood. We stayed in a private room + private bathroom. Its modern and clean. Bed was comfortable and 160 x 200cm. There is also a closet where you can put a padlock on it, so you can keep your backpack safe. Sound insulation of the windows is really good, can't barely hear the traffic on the street. But the sound insulation of the door/walls could be better, there is a gap from about 1-1,5cm under the door. Our room was air conditioned which has a sign on it saying it's automatically regulated. If it's too hot or too cold, you can ask for the remote controle at the front desk. Nice hot showers with a great jet (but I had to wait about 3 minutes before it gets hot). Shampoo, soap and conditioner are provided. Our room was made up every day (we stayed 3 nights) and towels were changed once, which was perfect. On the 5th floor there is a common kitchen and as far I saw, everyone cleaned it up after they used it. Near metro and bus station, shops, Western Union, restaurants etc. Totally recommended!
Carmen W — Google review
We stayed here for 2 nights the room was dirty there were Ants crawling all over the walls and on the beds. The air-con didn’t work consistently during the might. The staff weren’t apologetic and didn’t care when we told them we weren’t happy with the our room and the poor standard. Ended up moving somewhere else! As I can’t respond to the reply I will edit this one. Considering that this response was written by a member a staff you can’t then say you were polite, this is an example of the kind of treatment we have received, if you take arrogance as not feeling welcomed enough to approach the staff as they were cold and rude then thats up to you. We told a member of staff of the issue then it’s your responsibility to give us some options of how this could be resolved, we simply asked for a refund as we thought this would be the easiest option as we didn’t know the capacity of the hostel, and at that point you could have suggested an alternative option as we were the customers and you as the staff have that responsibility not the other way around. We approached the situation as politely as possible, we were both very nervous to bring this up in the first place and we were met with no resolution or suggestions just a shrug and “I will message the manager.” We spent little time in the room on the first day as we had made plans, we went out to eat on both nights and did not once eat in the room or see a cleaner for that matter. We have been travelling for a few months and have never experienced this poor behaviour from anyone it’s really sad that you can’t take responsibility for the ants and the old chewing gum stuck to the bed frames and apologise for our unpleasant experience. As for all the other reviews we have looked on all platforms and it seems that you have a very aggressive rude and bullying response therefore anyone who has had a negative experience I’m sure is to uncomfortable to relay there experience when they know this is what they will be met with. So clearly you are aware of the ants as you claim to be fumigating however you shouldn’t be fumigation more than 4 times a year as it can be toxic to residents. Hope you take this onboard and resolve some of these issues for future customers. Have a nice day Maria!

It is a great value for money option. Location is great and service is pretty good. I would improve mattresses and bathrooms, but they are not awful, just have room to improve. The bunk bed is very tall and has no rail so it is not safe for small children. The place is missing a great opportunity by not having an atmosphere, setting up group activities and having people come together as other hostels do.

The hostel was good! Pretty clean the rooms were abit small. The Staff were so friendly! Except one woman unfortunately i don’t know here name with colored eyes and dark hair one the reception , she just shouldn’t work in hospitality at all! She can search for a job in a governmental office or military, the way she was acting.

Pool table wasn't in use, as well as the swimming pool. However, staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Bedrooms are nice and clean, albeit a little small for six people. Bathrooms are nice and hostel is overall extremely clean. The only other thing missing is an atmosphere!

Che Juan Hostel BA is a casual accommodation option located in the San Nicolas neighborhood, close to several attractions such as the Basilica del Santisimo Sacramento and the Centro Cultural Kirchner. The hostel offers simple dorms and private rooms equipped with amenities like individual lamps, curtains, and bedside lockers. Additionally, guests can enjoy a shared kitchen, courtyard, and air-conditioned rooms with cable TV.
Great location, spacious rooms, comfy beds. I stayed 10 days here and I really enjoyed my stay. There activities everyday (tango class, learning how to empanadas, making Yerba mate tea). Highly recommend it

The mattress is comfortable. It is not too soft not too hard, just right. I stayed on second floor but the toilet and the shower are together. So if anyone taking shower or using the toilet for long, it is a problem. The bathroom is not clean enough, the toilet seat is sometimes dirty and the window sills are full of dust and I saw hair. Obviously they didn’t ask the clean to clean the whole bathroom. Overall, for this price and this location, it is acceptable.

Very social, clean and comfortable I had a great experience in Che Juan Hostel. It was recommended to me by a fellow traveler in Santiago in Chile and this place exceeded my expectations. When you enter the hostel there is a beautiful old stairs with decorations on the walls. When you reach the reception you are being welcomed by an English speaking, competent en very friendly staff. Laundry was very affordable as wel. When you come in the room there are very comfy beds with curtains and big lockers for your luggage. There is always a staff member dedicated to cleaning the kitchens and the bathrooms in order to keep the Hostel perfectly clean. The location is very central and close to the subway station. Another important factor is the atmosphere. Che Juan is a great place to meet fellow travelers and they also organize activities during the evening to get to know the local culture. I can highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

I stay here 3 weeks or 4 and gonna stay more I believe first of all people, who works in here are lovely cheerful care about you. First of all I wanna thanks to all crew. The hostel you can come without a doubt. Hostel is so clean, work places are good. Activities are nice , and really easy to socialize with people here 👍🏻 so yeah I am so glad I choose here to stay 🤗 Gracias todo gente en Che Juan 🙏✌🏼

Dimitri is truly the star of Che Juan! Yes the rooms and beds are nice, and I love the nightly social sessions. There is also ample space for those who need to work, and there are 2 kitchens and multiple toilets and showers. But as I said, Dimitri’s professionalism shines through. He gives great recommendations and advice. The AFIs I have are that the smoking area is an air well and so smoke still filters out and into the common areas. Those with sensitivity to smoke might find it a tad annoying but it’s not very bad. Nonetheless, this is a winner for me

We had a bad experience mainly due to two reasons. First, there was a loud karaoke party going on from 11 pm to 3am which made it impossible to sleep (and we just arrived from a 20 hour trip from Barcelona). And secondly, there was bed bugs in our bunk beds which meant we had to change rooms. The hostel is loud at night because the walls are thin. The kitchen is good and the common area too.

I loved my stay at Che Juan Hostel in Buenos Aires. It was elegant and peaceful, yet full of fun activities. What made it stand out was the personal feel — it’s not part of a chain, and that shows in the thoughtful touches and warm, attentive staff. The experience felt truly tailored, and the atmosphere was both relaxing and social. A perfect spot for travelers looking for something more authentic.

I'm very sad because I had taken the time to compare all the hostels in Bueno Aires to get the best possible stay and I had chosen Che Juan because it seemed the best. However, my stay in this hostel ruined my stay in Bueno Aires. For several reasons: - I left my clothes in the laundry and all my clothes shrunk. I lost over 400 euros worth of clothes. And when I informed the staff, the hostel manager informed me that they “had done as usual”. Not even an apology. - I had Internet problems throughout my stay. I had to ask the staff several times to reboot the modem to hope for a change. Impossible to work properly, or even watch a video or listen to a song... - I was bitten by insects during the nights (room 11). I don't know what kind of insects it is, but it was very itchy. In truth, if you don't need to do laundry or you don't need WIFI, the hostel is relatively decent (even if you should avoid room 11 to avoid getting bitten!). Otherwise, I have only one piece of advice: GET OUT! There are other hostels that are better and cheaper.

Youth hostel
Reina Madre Hostel in Buenos Aires offers a laid-back atmosphere with dorms and private rooms, featuring a shared kitchen and a rooftop terrace. The hostel provides ample space for relaxation and socializing, including a lounge with entertainment options, a rooftop garden, dining area, and kitchen. Guests can choose from mixed or ladies-only dorms as well as private rooms, all equipped with lockers for security. The property also features multiple bathrooms for convenience.
So good I stayed here three times during the course of my stay in BA. Located in a beautiful area close to bus routes and not far from Palermo either. The rooms are clean, and so are the bathrooms. Also very safe with lockers and 24 hour monitoring of who is coming in and out. But perhaps the best thing about the hostel is the staff. Alberto, Lucas and Denis could not be more helpful or accommodating, they make the place so great. It is an absolute steal at this price and you can pay in cash which some hostels in BA don’t allow. I highly recommend this place!
David W — Google review
+ Good location and though pretty worn out through it was clean, lots of bathrooms so sharing wasn’t a problem and there’s a rooftop terrace - Theft: My soap case was stolen from the bathroom having left it there at night - not a high value item but very annoying to replace, especially that it was a gift. Reception staff showed no concern and offered no help to find it. Independence: Guests are not trusted and generally treated like children - the AC is controlled from the reception. If you want it on you have to ask. There were several power trips during our stay which meant I once had to go down 2 flights of stairs at 2am to ask staff to put it back on as the room was boiling. It’s also always switched off in the morning. You’re not trusted with the room key either which you must leave before heading out. No keys to the front door are provided meaning you always need to buzz in and rely to be let in by reception. Kitchen access is restricted from midnight until 8am - not great if you’re looking for early breakfast. Terrace is also closed until 8am - a pity since sunrise when we stayed was at 5:30am. Atmosphere was dire. Unlike many other hostels I stayed in, no one spoke to each other.

I booked a private room for 3 weeks. Pros Good location in Recoleta Cons When checking in they told me that it’s only possible to pay in cash and I would need to go to Western Union to pick up 980 USD worth of Argentinian pesos in cash so that I could pay them in cash. Nowhere in the booking did it say that you can only pay in cash. Ironically they have stickers of Visa in their premises to show that you should be able to pay via card. The day after I went to tell them, that I want to cancel my booking as I was not happy with the Hostel or the payment options, to which they rudely responded that cash only was written in the booking (I checked, and it was not) that it was cash only and that why did I even stay here in the Hostel for such a long time if payment in cash is a problem. While they apologized later, it already ruined the vibe. Overall the Hostel is not great. Some other complaints: - The rooms look outdated - The aircon can only be controlled by the owner, who has the remote in the reception. The room gets really hot and there is no ventilation - When you leave the room - you have to always give and ask for the key at the reception. If you come from the street, you need to be buzzed in by the reception, which is really annoying - The beds are not comfortable - They don’t bother to add toilet paper or soap in some of the bathrooms - The Wifi sometimes does not seem to work - The rooms are super noisy. You can hear pretty much everything that is happening in the hostel or on the streets - Even the lock for the room did not work properly, you had to play around with the lock to open the door Overall, I’m baffled how this hostel can have such a high rating. It’s expensive and outdated. Plus, you are treated like a kid with the whole aircon and key situation and customer service is terrible.

It’s a great place to stay! It was our first encounter with Argentina and Buenos Aires, and couldn’t have wished for better! The rooms are basic and have everything you need. Very good price quality ratio! There is a balcony and rooftop terrace which are pleasant to hang out. What really stands out are the owners, who are very kind, relaxed and hospitable. We felt welcome and would definitely come back.
Mirjam E — Google review
Unfortunately I had a negative experience with the service here. I had a bed bug scare and the staff didn't show concern or offer help. Instead of taking action and checking the room (and I did find a bed bug on my bed), I was told they fumigate every so often and that there's no bugs. While that may or may not be true, the lack of care really leaves a lot to be desired. I wasn't even offered a refund and was told I was the one that may have brought them. I'm sure they'll try to deny this again once I post this but to put the final nail in the coffin, the man with glasses decided to judge my language preference once I decided to leave. Sir, you may want to do research on bilingual people and dominant languages before opening your mouth to a complete stranger. This is a topic many Latinos in English speaking countries have sensitivity to and struggle with. If this is the way you treat paying customers I suggest you consider a different profession. Hostels are meant to provide a welcoming environment to people from all nationalities and backgrounds, I'm sad to say this wasn't the case. I suggest folks reading this review to skip this place.

I stayed here 5 nights and will be returning for 3 more. A very fairly priced hostel, which is think is a steal at its quality. The beds are cozy and warm, the bathrooms clean and neat, and the location is unbeatable and central for exploring the various neighborhoods of Buenos Aires.

Best hostel where we spent 3 nights! Good location, not expensive, and you have access to a kitchen, 2 fridges, a big space to eat, and a rooftop. The dorms with 4 beds have big lockers for each one. Air conditioned. There are a lot of bathrooms out of the rooms, with a WC inside. Hot water. There is a common area with a TV, DVD, PlayStation, computers, guitar, balcony where you can smoke. All the spaces were clean and good quality. Two cats live there! The reception is open 24/24. They speak English, and are very nice! The ONLY problem was the electrical outlets not compatible with the European phone charger, we had to buy adaptators.

A very nice and great hostel. The building is a historic one. Alberto the host is amazing. Even at 2am in the night when we arrived, he explained us everything about Buenos Aires. Breakfast is small but good. Clean showers with hot hot water. Rooms are big and you will find your own locker. Rooftop is fantastic and they do have a DVD collection.

Sabatico Travelers Hostel is a charming colonial-style hostel located in the Monserrat district of Buenos Aires. It offers private and dorm rooms, an outdoor pool, terrace, communal kitchen, breakfast, and Wi-Fi. The hostel's central location provides easy access to the city's attractions. While it may not be ideal for late-night walks or partying, its proximity to the Congress and main road makes it convenient yet peaceful.
I stayed here for two weeks in October 2025 and it was really a great experience. The people the staff the building itself is Historical everything about it. It was great the location 20 minutes from my Tango salon in 12 minutes to the nature sanctuary and I could walk to Teatro Colon. so it was really lovely people. There are great. You’re going to enjoy yourself if you stay.

This hostel is well located and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The common area and the kitchen are great. The shared rooms, however, are terrible. There's no air conditioning and the only way to get some (small) relief is through a very noisy fan. I personally barely slept. If you are a light sleeper, this is not where you want to spend the night.
Bouchedid J — Google review
First off, the staff, Lucas and Eugene deserve 5 stars. As a tandem, I would put them amongst the best I have encountered in the world. They were fun, informative, intelligent, courteous, helpful. Unfortunately, they are no longer there. Check in was fabulous. They let me in early. The hostel is spacious. There are many bathrooms. They have paper towels! Always a plus. The dining area is spacious. The cleaning lady did an excellent job. The room (4 bed dorm) is small. It was ideal for the one roommate I had, but I can't imagine fitting 4 people and luggage in there. The location is great. Other than the vibration that you can hear/feel from buses passing thru, it is quiet. It is within walking distance to many attractions, and a short subway commute to Palermo.
Nunya B — Google review
It was very expensive for a hostel when I was there. They don't let you rent towels with a card. Good A/C in rooms. Room keys suck though. Bathrooms are very very tiny and not very clean. The showers are very industrial and dirty. No hooks to put your clothes or towel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I didn’t end up staying at Sabatico Hostel, but I want to highlight the amazing help I got from Isabel, who’s from Bahia, Brazil. She took the time to explain everything about Buenos Aires with such warmth and respect, and she really knows the city well. You can feel she genuinely cares about helping people and loves what she does. Even though I didn’t stay this time, if I ever do, it’ll definitely be at Sabatico — mostly because of Isabel’s kindness and professionalism.

I lived at the guesthouse/hostel for about 6 months (exchange student). The guesthouse in general lacked heating, the oven did not really work properly (but that might be user error) and one of the showers did not have hot water. The hostel was better (moved there after 3-4 months). The service was very good and the hostel was very social. It was also very nice to have the choice to participate in different activities every day. The internet could be better, it was sometimes a bit unstable while studying in my room. All in all, quite happy with my stay.

Don’t fall in the trap! First of all the pictures do look better than reality. Upon arrival the receptionist tricked us with the blue dollar rate. It looks like there has nothing been done with regards to maintenance in the building. Pool was closed our entire stay and we never got new towels or whatsoever. We’ve been going out to other hostels and I recommend you do that too since the atmosphere is very lame in this one. No bar, no pool, no party etc. Could have been much nicer.
Joep G — Google review
The hostel is at a very good location, it's close to a main road but still very quiet. We could pay in pesos, of course, and I only removed this one star because I found it a bit pricey. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the room - though basic - clean and comfy. What I really liked is that they have activities for every day, so we learned how to make empanadas and really enjoyed it. We had a good time even though we were by far the oldest ones there :D

Overall 4.5 stars. This is one of the few remaining hostels that hasn't been ravaged by air bnb or hotels. The owner was very friendly and even showed my gf and I how to properly prepare and drink mate. I saw another review on here about a small shower. They must have been huge because the shower was adequate. Pros: affordable / atmospheric / great location / washer, kitchen, bathroom / felt secure / staff was friendly and helpful Cons: walls can be thin but the common room is far away enough that my sleep wasn't disturbed (plus if you don't have ear plugs anyways then you're messing up). The only A/C I felt was in the common room, but even in summer it cool inside. A cool hostel with good location and security at an affordable rate. Will stay here again on my next visit to Buenos Aires.

Run down hostel with an arrogant, argumentative owner. Water did not work for our entire stay (we paid for en-suite bathroom and were unable to use it a single time) and volunteer staff openly talked about how bad the place was unprompted (owner had a real problem with us mentioning this). Bed was falling apart and the handle on our private room door repeatedly fell out (the door did not lock even when the handle stayed in). Owner seems to spend a lot of time replying to negative reviews in the tone of ‘it’s cheap what do you expect’ and not enough time improving things, which may explain the state of the hostel. Owner also ‘cancelled’ our stay on hostelworld immediately after we complained, so that we couldn’t leave a fair and accurate 1* review on there, all the while arguing with us via WhatsApp and turning up to the hostel to argue more in person. We stayed at milhouse hostel the rest of our trip which was a dollar or two more expensive per night and about 1000x better in every way.
Fergus B — Google review
Hostel was good, room was big, but shower was so small we had to keep a foot in and a foot out. It wouldn’t be a big deal at all if it wasn’t for our terrible experience with the employee/volunteer on duty on the night of November 25 to 26, 2024. We had the misfortune to have intoxicated guests waking us up in the middle of the night. I’ve traveled in hostels for the last 20 years and know it can happen, but after 2 hours; at 6 AM, we decide to ask those people to lower their voices or to keep partying out of the hostel, but they unfortunately got very angry at us for it. We decided to go back to bed with them continuing their party next to us and when we had to leave, at 7 AM, we tried talking about it to the volunteer on duty that day. That’s when we realized she was with that group of friends as she looked at us smiling, sarcastically saying she was sorry, and leaving us alone while she entered the shower with another drunk girl. When they got out, still shouting, I gently asked them to lower their voice and tried talking calmly with them, but the drunk girl threaten me and the volunteer laughed at us, got sarcastic and very arrogant. We were supposed to stay there one more night, but it really didn’t feel safe, so I still stayed very calm to ask for a refund and cancellation of my reservation. The volunteer ignored me at first, faking to be working by counting money over and over again, until I told her our uber driver had arrived and we really needed to leave. She finally did, but kept acting completely inadequately, strongly smelled like alcool and couldn’t answer any of our questions. She also stated that this was part of using hostels, but as a very experienced traveled, I truly never felt so unsafe anywhere in the world.

Such an amazing hostel, right in the centre of BA. The staff went above and beyond for us during our two stays at this accommodation and showed us a level of kindness we haven’t seen in staff in a very long time. Helpful and genuinely lovely staff seems to be harder and harder to find these days but this hostel did not disappoint! I strongly recommend staying here when visiting Argentina 😊 Just to note: there are no bed curtains in the private rooms and the shower temperatures are a little hard to master!

It’s the best :) we had an amazing time there. It‘s like staying over at a friends house. Also: the owner of the hostel is so incredibly nice ! I would recommend it to anyone!

The hostel is in a good location, near to central and close to buses and trains. The private rooms are quite nice with Aircon and are very spacious. The cleanliness of the bathroom and kitchen could be a lot better and the kitchen is a bit unorganised with little to cook with. The staff are very nice and friendly. There are no activities planned at the hostel, or maybe just not the time we were there - but it makes the atmosphere a little quiet and people keep to themselves.
Ciara F — Google review
First off, this place is very tiny. If you’re young and looking to socialize and meet interesting people on your trip this isn’t the hostel for you. On a positive note the staff was lovely and very accommodating. Had some great interactions with them and loved how they presented themselves. The vibe they created in the hostel was pretty depressing though… When I came back from my late lunch in the city the sunlight was starting to fade. Once I got up to the hostel it was pretty much pitch black in there except for a light beside the check in desk. Seemed very eerie and strange for that early in the night. Once I got to my room the lights were also off and other guests were getting ready for bed and sleeping (keep in mind it’s around 8pm at this point…) Now let’s get to the guests (the people you share your stay with). Judging by other reviews I guess I got unlucky. Every single other guest was very timid and unwilling to even acknowledge me when I arrived at the hostel which was unfortunate. The most interaction I got was a few glances and snares from the others. The other guests seemed forced to be there rather than be there by choice. Also like noted above the early bed times were strange. I ended up going to my friends to stay the night because I didn’t want to bother the other patrons by staying up and reading / watching television. You can’t put that on the hostel but it is the atmosphere they created at the end of the day so some responsibility lies on them. All in all the hostel is not bad and 2 stars might be harsh considering how great the staff was, the atmosphere is depressing though if you’re young and social.

Hated every second of my stay there. The day we left the guy at the reception was so unkind to us. The smell in the room was unbearable you could smell the mold, the double bed was two single beds joined together but not in the same hight so it was very uncomfortable. The mattress was disgusting and don’t even think about cooking in this kitchen because it is literally a safety hazard there are bugs and the oven smelled like it has never been cleaned same about the fridge. The location wasn’t bad but also not good. For backpackers this is not a good choice because you will have to eat out and spend a whole lot of money per day. The showers were also grose. I really wasn’t expecting much for 10$ a night each (20$ a night for a private double room for two people) but this was disrespectful.

We stayed in room 3 on the front of the hotel and I would not recommend it. The drain in the bathroom constantly had a very bad smell and the noise from the street meant me and my partner barely got any sleep for the 4 nights we stayed. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows needed replacing, they were very old and the material inside was clumped together and not good to sleep on. The kitchen had no bowls or plates which was not helpful, but what it did have was small cockroaches. Not a great look. The location is fantastic as you are near the market and also close to the main avenue, but that's about the only positive.

Very, very affordable pricing for a centrally located hostel. We stayed 2 nights because we were transferring to another flight in Buenos Aires. Staff was very friendly and gave us guidance on where to find food, nearby transport, etc. The room was decently clean. The overall cleanliness is bad. The building feels very rundown, and the kitchen has baby roaches. The shared shower was okay but could be cold due to the door. Finally, the fan in our room broke when used. Luckily, nobody got hurt!! So scary. It was very dangerous. Please brush up the maintenance of the building before anyone gets injured!!

Warning - bed bugs. Before staying at this hostel, I had no idea that even such thing as bed bugs exists! Got bitten very bad. Other people did too, but I was bitten worse. Very bad higene. When I went to reception to complain, I was just told that it's normal in hostels!!! Cleaners don't change bed sheets. Otherwise, location is pretty good, the building is nice. Very loud at night. Nobody cares about anything there. There is no management etc. Whole place got flooded one night and staff didn't even bother, other travellers just helped with it.

The hostel was OK. If your thinking of using the kitchen facilities beware as they are not the cleanest. The walls are also very thin...... We were kept up by people snoring in the room next to us. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and there are lots of tours run from the hostel. Also the free local map helps you get your bearings if it's the first time in BA...

This is one of the most welcoming hostels I’ve stayed in. Within 5 minutes of walking in the door the staff had introduced me to mate and made me a cup of my own. The roof terrace is a great place to relax during the day or the evening. The rooms are simple, the showers are hot and the activities the hostel organizes are a fantastic way to meet people. They don’t have full-sized lockers in the rooms - only lockers for valuables so you can’t lock away your whole bag - just an fyi.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in a superior double room and honestly, it was great!! The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Perfect place to crash after a day walking around the city ✨. The location is super convenient, we could either walk or take a quick ride to all the spots and restaurants we wanted to check out. The reception staff were awesome 😉. Always friendly, always ready to help, and they gave us local tips that really made our trip better. The hostel itself has a lively vibe, so if you like meeting people from all over and joining activities or parties without going far, it’s perfect. The common areas are well kept and it feels like a place for real travelers. I’d definitely recommend it whether you’re traveling as a couple or on your own.

I had a great stay at Viajero Hostel in Colonia del Sacramento. The location is absolutely fantastic — right in the heart of town and within easy walking distance to the main attractions, making it super convenient for exploring the beautiful historic area. The rooms were decent and comfortable enough for a hostel stay. Nothing luxurious, but they did the job well and I slept comfortably during my time there. The staff were a real highlight. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to answer questions and offer recommendations. Their welcoming attitude really added to the experience. I visited during a quiet period, and because of that there wasn’t much of a social vibe. This may be different during busier seasons, but it’s worth noting if you’re looking for a lively atmosphere. The only real downside was the kitchen. It was quite small, often messy, and didn’t seem to be cleaned as often as it should be. Cooking there wasn’t the most pleasant experience. Overall, Viajero Hostel is a great option if you value a prime location and super friendly staff. With improvements to the kitchen and during a busier time, it has the potential to be a fantastic stay.

Pros 1. Has a great atmosphere, easy to socialize 2. I love the cats inside the hostel, it help create a warm atmosphere 3. Many activities are organized Cons 1.the Indian guy at the reception and the breakfest lady have zero motivation to work there. We can see they hate their job. The rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful

Extremely well located in the city ! The private rooms are really worth the value and it feels like in a hotel for the price of a Hostel with the atmosphere of lively place. They offer a lot of tours and activities. Daniela and Daniel are extremely helpful at the reception! They know the city by heart.

This hostel gave me amazing memories in Argentina. The staff is wonderful and very kind—Dante is definitely the cherry on top! Even though I decided to give this place five stars, there are a few maintenance issues that should be addressed (for example, the bathroom door in my room was very difficult to slide). They also seem to have recurring problems with providing towels—I tried for two days without success, and it appears even guests in private rooms had the same issue. Overall, it was still a very good experience, and I’ll definitely come back again

Great affordable place to stay while visiting Buenos Aires. The workers make sure you always feel welcome. Danielle and Carolina at the reception are very accommodating whilst Dante’s tours are very amusing and entertaining. I would highly recommend staying at this hostel.

Best Staff Member Ever! Gerónimo was easily the highlight of my stay at the hostel. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel completely at home — always smiling, always ready to help, and genuinely caring about every guest’s experience. Whether it was giving local tips, helping organize transportation, or just hanging out and chatting, he went above and beyond every single day.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Buenos Aires, Hostel Estoril is a colorful haven for travelers seeking both relaxation and productivity. This charming hostel, housed in a century-old building, has been a beloved local establishment for over ten years. It offers free Wi-Fi and an inviting rooftop terrace with a bar—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring or working remotely. The atmosphere at Hostel Estoril strikes the perfect balance between work and play.
Wendy has been extremely helpful from helping me find the cheapest laundromat to giving me ideas for activities to do around the center. She had made my stay so comfortable. I highly reccomend this hostel. Great vibes and free coffee in the morning.

Apart from the majestic building and its spaciousness, an absolute cold, soulless overpriced place to stay. A disgrace. Rude, impolite receptionists, looking down on you, playing loud political nonsense and music in the background, sketchy volunteers, an absolute disregard for the atmosphere, dubious environment, highly not recommend it. Get your act together, it's not a place to feel comfortable or relaxed, AT ALL. Take care!!!

Mixed feelings for Estoril. I´d say you get what you pay for. I was staying there over New Years, and the rooms on the first floor are nice. If you choose the cheaper option on the second, you will get a very dirty kitchen, old beds and no AC. The Staff was nice, I was extending three times without any problems and they were always open for a nice chat. :)

Location cannot be more central, staff in nice, building has elevator and shops nearby. Kitchen is good and there is coffee in the morning. Sometimes party in red room are loud but I will not lower rating for this. Absolutely loved female dorm.
Svetlana K — Google review
Location is very good, close to shopping centers, coffee shops, stores and many more. It is a well kept old building. It has few common areas to hang out; you can smoke in the building in a specific area and has a communal kitchen and a place to study, watch tv. The second day the girl at the reception was so helpful with any questions that I have asked🙏🏼 She has given me bunch of information which I am very grateful of and both of the receptionist know English very well. The kitchen, bathrooms and common areas cleaned and kept clean very regularly. The rooms I have stayed were maximum 6 beds which I found it nice. The price is very affordable. There is a complementary coffee and tea in the mornings.

A small hostel in the middle of the city. It is perfectly placed to easily access multiple viewpoints through the city. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, the hostel is a bit pricey, and on my last day there was no running water.

it is located on 3rd floor of old building in center town. i got upgraded to private room as the dorm full. the lovely, friendly and helpful reception girl makes me feel so welcoming. bathroom is clean. although the cooking area in kitchen is tiny, enough for 1 person at once...but overall great for its value

This is the hostel you should book. Best bang for buck in BA. The hostel is perfect, volunteers are amazing. Adam and Andreas make the bar nights incredible, for the price you pay you cannot get a better location, room, kitchen, shower or anything else. There's not a bar in BA with cheaper or better tap beer than the rooftop bar here. Anything under 5 stars means you're the problem here.

I stayed here for a few nights at the 4-bed dorm and had a wonderful experience! The location is great, near all the shops and restaurants. The room has a bathroom and it was very clean and tidy. There were lockers too. The kitchen was equipped with everything that we needed to cook. They even have a rooftop and a bar to enjoy the view too. They organised activities and it was great to meet the other travellers. Had so much fun and definitely would recommend this hostel to everyone!

Run down hostel, the toilets are dirty and the ground is filled with water, the shower head is really bad it feels like you're showering with a water hose. The rooms are big and there's 4 beds on each side which move whenever someone moves in their bed and it's annoying, they have no stability whatsoever. The lockers seem not safe at all even when locked there's big gaps all over the place. The doors to the rooms are flimsy and you can hear everything from the outside so good luck if people want to spend time until late, which is totally fine but the hostel should improve their facilities so people that want to sleep can do that. The kitchen is small for the amount of people that are staying so expect to wait if you want to cook your own food I stayed one night because I came late but in the morning I left for another hostel

not worth the price. first, they only have reception to 4 am and then starting 8 am which is nothing short of ridiculuos in a capital city. people coming from night busses have to wait outside the hostel until someone arrives. as i was one of those people sitting there, i got greeted to buenos aires with a horrible attitude by the girl working this morning, telling me that i now woke up the entire hostel ringing the bell. i mean what would you do if the description says 24hour security? unacceptable, at least change the information because there are other people like me that do not make reservations until we actually arrive. the rest of the people working there and volunteers were really nice. old, rusty and moldy bathrooms that are flooded after someone took a shower and the rooms are super noisy because of the street and nothing special. really, the terazza is the only good thing about this place and even that you can get a better view in other places. overall, i was not satisfied.

I loved staying at Parla, the people were absolutely interesting and refreshing and I had an amazing time, exactly what I needed. People are between 24-30 and everyone was so openminded. The little events they hold are a perfect way to meet new people and a recommendation for outside of the hostel is always provided. I will for sure come back ❤️

Vintage hostel style in the middle of the city, good value for money paid. Cheap and simple. I stayed in a big room with 3 beds alone, I guess end of April is not that busy. The only problem was the noise, there is a bar downstairs and people stayed there until 5 in the morning. It was very loud. Recommended if you need somewhere cheap to stay for a night. Staff was very kind and helpful.
Patrik K — Google review
While Connie and the manager were amazing, there is an issue with the booking system and while they took the booking and accepted payment, they cancelled and didn't refund. This caused confusion and left me stranded outside in the cold for 4 hours. Coney tried to warm us up and helped us find somewhere to stay and booked us in for the day after. When we came back the booking had disappeared so the manager worked hard to get us a room in the other play hostel. That was a lovely gesture but it was difficult getting the refund for the first two nights we paid for but didn't get. The hostel should not be booked if you arrive in the night...spend more and go somewhere else.

Great place whether you’re just passing through or starting your stay in BA. The hostel offers good value for money, with comfortable sleep and the most of what you need. Special thanks to Cony at reception – she’s very helpful and also organizes programs for guests, which makes the stay even nicer. Overall, a really good experience.

We stayed twice. (1 night each time) At the first time the guy in the reception wasn't very nice, it took a lot of time, he didn't knew a word in English and did a hard life for the check in, It's supposed to be easy and fast.. that night we stayed in a room for 2, twin beds, very dusty and with hair on the mattress and pillows that wasn't ours (not same hair color so it's easy to tell) We chose shared toilet but were not available most of time because there is only one upstairs. second time we came was much better, the lady at the reception was nice and easy, knew English and did the process very fast with a smile- thank you for that. The big private room with private bathroom was big and was worth the difference in the payment.
Eden B — Google review
I would not recommend this hostel. When I arrived the receptionist Leondro tried to charge me more than the price shown on Hostelworld and booking. When I asked him why the hostel was charging more than third party websites, he appeared to be annoyed. He does not speak any English, so communicating with Google translate was challenging. (I understand this is a Spanish speaking country, but hostels are international so it would be helpful for backpackers who are just visiting on a short vacation to be able to ask questions!) Throughout my stay, he was rude with me and made me feel uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. The rooms were extremely hot. There were only two bathrooms in the entire hostel which meant often I had to wait a long time to use a bathroom. The showers were extremely dirty and flooded. Apparently there used to be breakfast, but they no longer provide that service.
Alexandra S — Google review
Cony really made the stay worth it! I don't know what I would have done without her amazing evening activities! Definetly recommend for solo travellers as she offers activities every night and makes you feel so welcome and included. She even offers a spanish class for every level!

Very nice hostel! It was a pleasure to be here! I've been living here for two weeks, all this time I've been chatting here with interesting people from all over the planet, drinking wonderful coffee in the morning at the local cafeteria! The staff is very polite and friendly! Many thanks to Emanuel and Catalina, they are the best administrators! We are always ready to help with any question! Also, many thanks to the cleaning staff, they are regularly cleaned throughout the hostel, always clean floors, clean bed linen, clean kitchen and showers! There was always a place in the fridge to put my groceries, there is everything you need for cooking, I felt at home here)) Thank you so much, it's been a wonderful two weeks!

Only been here for one night but thought it was appropriate to write a short review. I've stayed in some various hostels in Buenos Aires but this one is by far the best so far! Reception are incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are tidy and the facilities are all here! Feels good to arrive to a hostel and feel welcome for once.

The location is nice, as well as the price. It has two guitars and a nice living room + rooftop. Different room sizes from 8 dorm to 4 dorm 10-14$ a night The owner however is grumpy and looks like she has not smiled in ages. The volunteers make the place better, but can't overshadow the bad vibes of her. The place is quite rundown and the floor is almost always wet. Showers, internet, AC didn't work for long periods. The kitchen and rooftop close at 23, for apparently no reason.

The worst hostel I have stayed at. So dirty. The kitchen is unusable unless it’s first thing in the morning, there are 5 toilets and showers for all the people staying there which is not enough! There were cockroaches all around and they made us leave our room to fumigate it! When we arrived there were other peoples stuff on our bed. There was no apology they just took the stuff off. Nothing was clean and overall the staff were quite rude other than one guy but I think he was a volunteer. AVOID!!

The hostel is clean, staff was very nice and helpful. They have suggestions about what to do in the city, maps and tickets to parties. The kitchen was full equipped, the one red flag I found was the noise of traffic on the rooms that face to the street. The breakfast includes fruits which makes it fresh!

Staff are friendly and will answer any questions you have. Hostel is cleaned regularly, nice roof space to hang out on with good WiFi. Breakfast is minimal but not too bad. No shower curtains which means whole bathroom gets a bit wet when someone showers.

Stayed one night here, the staff were very friendly and the location was great. The building definitely looks in disrepair though, there was water coming in the ceiling downstairs and the kitchen smelled of gas. I also arrived really early and they hadn't sent the door code yet, so I had to go find a coffee nearby. I recommend contacting them if you arrive early to make sure you have the code.

Rafael T — Google review
I’ve never written a bad review before and have stayed in probably hundreds of hostels. I had a terrible experience here and would recommend people to avoid this place!! Firstly, there was black mould on the ceiling of the bathroom in my room and it smelled like mould through the room. I had booked a room at $25k Argentinian pesos per night but they tried to charge me $60K pesos per night, crediting the exchange rate. I understand the exchange rate in Argentina is volatile but I don’t understand what they were exchanging since I had booked in local currency. When I tried to speak to several staff members to clarify, they couldn’t speak very effective english (which is understandable) but they told me it was no problem there would be somebody to help me later in the day. I had a busy day planned travelling, but eventually when i stopped by the hostel an incredibly hostile staff member threatened to call the police on me. This seemed like a very extreme reaction based on the conversations I had earlier in the day. Even though I had booked in the local currency, they insisted on charging me in US dollar 3x the amount that I had booked. My booking confirmation stated I could pay in local currency with my visa, but they refused to take my visa in local currency. When I asked if I could then take out cash the next morning to pay a local cash, he threatened to call the police on me. This was after I had tried to pay three times and told to wait to speak to another staff member. I ended up leaving as soon as I could after this interaction because I felt so uncomfortable. Even before this confrontation the vibe in the hospital was very weird and antisocial. I did not feel very welcome there, there was no social atmosphere or common spaces to hangout, just the mouldy room. 0/10

4-5 Stars for price and location. 2-3 stars if you know what is possible (but more expensive) in Palermo, Buenos Aires. This is a great place if you need a bed under a roof in a private room. Nothing more. Everything else is very “hostel” indeed. Very basic, not clean, but not dirty either, worn, old, tight, loud, social. Staff is helpful, location is good, price as well if you do not want to spend more.

My experience was good, nothing bad to say about the hostel and the service. As I always say, is important to me a good customer care than many other things and the service provided was good. So I suggest to stay in this hostel if it is between the options.

Stayed for 4 nights and was comfortable here, not sure i would returned to this hostel. Summary of key points: Room - plenty of space and clean, air conditioned. Rooms near reception aren't good for noise, when people around there are chatting at 2am it is really loud. Bed - comfortable enough, they did creek a lot, if the top bunk moves about you can really feel it and hear it. Wifi - wifi across the hostel, but sometimes loses connection, sometimes found the connection is better in the room. not great wifi. Power and lighting - plug socket and lighting at your bed which was great, only the bed light does light up the whole room. Breakfast - tea, coffee is free, breakfast is $150, I didn't try it. Shower - shared facilities but were good, warm showers and good toilets. Security - hostel is secure but rooms are unlocked, a locker is provided for valuables with your own padlock, this won't fit a 65l bag in Laundry - not sure we didn't ask. Tours - reception are very helpful with arranging things and giving you advice, they run a few of their own tours Cooking - kitchen facilities for self catering are good. Common room - large common area is very comfortable for meeting other travelers. Atmosphere - very chilled and laid back. Location - Nice neighbourhood, we felt very safe walking around even at night. Loads of great bar's and restaurants near by. Cost - it is very cheap, only $360 pecos if you pay directly with the hostel for a 10 bed dorm. If this review was helpful please give it a like :) enjoy.

Very cheap, very clean, payed only 6$ f Per night and got breakfast too (bread, butter, jam, cake, they even made me a scrambled egg). The location is AMAZING, close to the bar area and still quiet. When i was there they had a problem with the a/c so it was a little hot, but other than that it was perfect

Puerto Limón Hostel is a charming guesthouse situated in the heart of Buenos Aires. It offers cosy accommodation with free wifi access and a range of comfortable rooms equipped with air conditioning, flat-screen TV, private bathroom and private balcony/patio. The hostel also features a fully equipped shared kitchen, an outdoor area with BBQ facilities, and friendly staff.
Stayed here for two nights and felt super comfortable - the rooms are spacious with A/C, the kitchen is big and decently equipped, wifi is decent and the common areas (including an outdoor terrace) are large. There is even a common use computer. Location is great - super close to the San Telmo market. Staff were really lovely and friendly. It is a quieter hostel, not necessarily a place to come for organized activities and making lots of friends, but it is a friendly space. Overall great value for money. Definitely recommend and would happily stay again.

It's not cleaned. The kitchen is extra dirty, and barely cleaned. Utensils are ultra damaged, cannot be used if you want to preserve your health. The hostel per se is not well maintained and some rooms have damages and need restoration. Receptionists are very often pissed off and not really helpful when there is a problem. Activities that are advertised on the website do not exist. There are way more CHEAPER and CLEANER places in Buenos Aires. In a week that I stayed there, the curtain and the air conditioner broke. The only good thing is the central position in San Telmo.
Giulia M — Google review
I had bed Bugs in my bed (I saw the actual insects crawling) and they told me "that's not possible because we had them last week and cleaned the room", other employee told me it was actually in another room, they then told me there were no other rooms available and wanted me to sleep in that bed. It was a shared room and they didn't tell the other people and let them sleep in the beds! Also with that Statement I assume they didn't do anything afterwards about it either. Unaccaptable behaviour. Also, I think this is the owner's/ Manager's fault as the first employees I talked to were super nice and understanding but after talking to the "boss" they started with that stupid statement
Ihate T — Google review
We had to change rooms because the private room we checked into was dirty. The bed sheets looked like they had not been cleaned and were covered in hair and stains. There was also hair in the toilet. Even in the next room we checked into, the bathroom was clean however the bedsheets STILL looked like they had not been changed. It’s not hard to wash bedsheets. At this point after a long travel day I had given up and tried to get rid of as much dirt as possible. People at reception didn’t look like they wanted to be there and were not very friendly.
Smiley C — Google review
Honestly my experience here was horrible, staff were incredibly unfriendly and refusing to help me with advice to withdraw cash and nice food places. After I got into my room I noticed that the bed had bed bugs, I went back to the reception to ask for a bed change please or if not a new set of sheets, they refused both. I ended up leaving and booking another hostel. DO NOT STAY!
Max N — Google review
The receptionist was incredibly rude. Refused to answer questions, and make any attempt to be accommodating. She didn’t even look up from her computer to answer you properly. Refused to provide a tour of the hostel, she just pointed and said “there”. I walked around and noticed the bathrooms had a damp moldy smell. (I understand some places don’t like to rent for long periods, but I was more than happy to pay on a week by week basis and see. I explained this to the girl and she just flat out said no :/ I asked for a different contact to speak to someone more in charge which she also refused to give. The owner may be interested to know that he lost a possible 2-3 months rent because his receptionist couldn’t be bothered.)

I stayed at this hostel for 2 nights in a private room with a private bath on the 3rd floor. It cost about $47 USD per night. It is a hostel, after all, so manage your expectations. I found my room to be very comfortable and quiet, mostly clean, and nicely decorated. There was a functioning air conditioner. I slept as well if not better here than the $400/night room my company put me up in the night before. Only complaint was mold in the shower caulking and a shower head that wouldn’t aim right and sprayed all over if you didn’t brace it with something. This was just a minor annoyance, if I’m perfectly honest. The rest of the bathroom was clean and functional. The area is San Telmo- and while it’s not the most pristine, I felt completely comfortable here. Great cafes and restaurants everywhere. Security is probably a persistent issue, but this hostel has 2 locking doors to the outside, and as long as visitors close them completely, it’s totally secure from the outside. That being said, I could lock my own door from the inside and had no worries. I cannot speak for the dorms. The kitchen and communal area are lovely with plants and nooks of useful things. WiFi was surprisingly fast. I missed breakfast both mornings, but whatever it was would have been better than nothing! Note that there is only a very small sign outside above eye level. Find the yellow metal doors and the call box, press the ring button, and you will be buzzed in. An attentive but not overly-friendly receptionist will be available to check you in and show you around. There’s a fridge with water and beer for purchase, a beer tap and coffee machine behind the counter. There is an inner patio where people smoke. You should probably be amenable to this if you stay here because it’s the central public space. This place was exactly what I wanted - low frills, cozy, and quiet (even on a Saturday night). I’d definitely stay here again.

Franca City Hostel is a laid-back accommodation in the heart of Buenos Aires, just steps away from Palacio Barolo. The hostel offers simple dorms and private rooms with a shared kitchen, lounge, and co-working space. Guests praise the cleanliness of the rooms and the friendly staff, particularly mentioning Angel who works nights. The central location provides easy access to dining and shopping options.
Great hostel for a long-term stay. Quiet, very homey atmosphere. People working in the co-working area and cooking together. Nice people. Building is in the traditional, old Argentina style - high ceilings, wooden floors.. very beautiful. Showers are warm and strong, although the shower room needs new tapestry. Wifi is solid, sometimes a bit slow on video calls. Beds are private (with curtain) and comfortable, with a locker. I am staying longer in this hostel, since it has a good community of people and is much better than renting an overpriced airbnb and sitting alone in it. Ok, now your turn. Get here.

Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. When I had a late flight they let me store my stuff and let me back into the hostel a couple times. I also arrived late and they were easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. FYI, the hostel can be easy to miss if you are not looking for it. There isn't really a great sign and it is on the second floor. The hostel was nice, but warning, I am pretty sure they have bad bed bugs. I had a single room and woke up one morning with my leg looking like it had seen combat and a bite mark on one of my fingers. Wouldn't stay again for this reason. The location and staff were good though.

Quiet hostel with wifi. The lower bunk bed was comfy, but a bit dusty. They charged me slightly more than the price from Booking in cash. They would not accommodate me for a check in earlier than 14:00. However, the staff was very nice.

Besides amazing location and superb pricing... Hostel decoration, design and cleaning way above average and outstanding service. Florencia's kindness and warm welcome made us feel almost at home. Highly recommended

Nice hostel in a central location in the city center. Kitchen and common areas are clean and well equipped. Staff is helpful 👍

I hate having to leave a bad review. Upon check in I was forced to give my card details as a "security procedure". My details were stolen immediately afterwards. It was a new card that I hadn't use anywhere else but in this hostel. I don't know if it was done by the hostel, a staff member or if these details are simply not stored securely in their computer.

clean, great showers, nice kitchen and decent location. Enjoyed my stay here.

The staff was good. My issue is there were 0 social activities. I’m used to hostels that make efforts to organize things and have a good time. There were 0 hostel organized activities in my 7 days here. It felt like just a place to sleep and nothing more.

Malevo Muraña Hostel is a great place to stay while in Palermo. It has a bar, a shared kitchen, and comfortable lounges where guests can relax or watch TV. The hostel also has patios where visitors can enjoy the fresh air.
This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Bathrooms are great and clean. Hot water for showers and sinks. Beds are comfortable and nice. Rooms are spacious with lockers that open/close with a key they provide. Kitchen is organized. Complimentary breakfast is good enough. Staff is friendly, kind and helpful. Location is A+, you can walk around and it is very safe, best neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Internet works fine and you can work remotely with no issues. There are no parties, though... and no social activities. However, you can make friends with the people staying in your room. I definitely recommend it to everyone! Many thanks Malevo Murana

Never leave bad reviews but this was a really terrible experience. We booked a private room for one night and asked to extend soon after arriving. The receptionist said we’d have to switch to a dorm, which was fine, and we even double-checked the booking later that evening, and they confirmed everything was fine. The next morning, when we asked to change rooms, they told us we had to wait until 2pm. When we returned in the afternoon, they had no record of our booking. The receptionist then called her boss, and after some back and forth, found a private room for us—but tried to charge three times the price of the dorm. We told them it was their mistake and we shouldn’t have to pay more, especially after being told three times our booking was confirmed. The manager refused to budge on the price, and by this time, everything nearby was more expensive. We had no choice but to pay for their mistake. The staff were nice but the service and lack of reasoning from management was so bad, and we were completely ripped off.

Old and dirty, not very social, bathroom smelled liked BO and they wouldn’t fix the problem. Checked out early and not given a refund for any of the future nights. Decent location though!

Pros: cheap, great location, felt safe. Staff friendly Cons: dirty, flies in shower, uncomfortable pillows, felt a bit unsocial.
Jonathan L — Google review
Great location, clean bathrooms and rooms. It’s relatively quiet at the night compared with staying in the center of Palermo. The friendlyness of the staff depends on the person and if they can speak english (some can help you very well, some don’t). The breakfast is white toast with some cheese and ham and cornflakes.
Julia S — Google review
Hostel is in a great spot and it is a great base to explore the bigger city. However, the people at the front desk are pretty stand offish and rude (feels like they don’t like foreigners) and the room (private double) felt dirty when we arrived. The blanket on the bed felt like it hadn’t been washed in months and our rubbish wasn’t collected in the six days we stayed which felt pretty gross, particularly in the bathroom. The breakfast provided wasn’t really breakfast but a few biscuits and pieces of meat and cheese served at the reception which wasn’t welcoming so we didn’t bother. I wouldn’t recommend.

Good hostel in the centre of Palermo. Great food and drink venues nearby. Beds are comfortable with air conditioning in the rooms. Towels cost 120 pesos and can be swapped when necessary. Large social area downstairs. Basic breakfast. Whole hostel was super clean.

Very comfortable hostel. Located in a great location, close to everything in the heart of Palermo. The amenities are great for the price you are paying, the breakfast is good, they even have fresh oranges that you can squeeze a juice yourself

PH Palermo Hostel is located in the vibrant and beautiful Palermo district. The reception staff is known for being incredibly friendly, and the hostel itself has a cozy atmosphere with a charming inner courtyard and a lovely rooftop featuring a grill and speakers. It's an ideal place to meet fellow travelers. While some rooms may be exposed to noise from common areas, bringing earplugs can help ensure a peaceful night's sleep.
Had an amazing stay at PH Palermo Hostel! Especially the manager Alan went above and beyond so that I could enjoy my stay to the max! Also the other staff were super friendly and helpful. The Hostel is clean and quiet, but also offers daily social activities. It is easy to meet people and also great to enjoy nightlife in Palermo. 10/10 would go again!
Patrik R — Google review
An awesome hostel for young people undoubtedly! Perhaps we are past the age to stay though 😅 📍The location of this hostel is unbeatable - in a trendy area of Palermo Soho where you can walk everywhere. You have to always buzz to be let in but the staff are quick to do it. ⭐💙 Staff really are 10/10, they are fantastic. So kind, enthusiastic and friendly, and go out of their way to help. The front desk is 24/7 which is really helpful if you're getting in late. 🍻There are also plenty of social activities going on (every evening), most of these (but not all) revolve around drinking and partying. And there's a friendly WhatsApp group that announces what's going on every day. 🚻 The hostel itself has some really cool social areas - the terrace, the bar, the kitchen, and some nice areas dotted around to sit. There aren't that many bathrooms, but there was always space somewhere, so that wasn't a problem. 🫧 The cleanliness is good but not great. My blanket has some weird fresh marks on it so I asked to change it, which they did without any problems. I found there were often flies in the kitchen from people not washing their dishes quickly. The bathrooms were a bit run down, but the showers had hot water. 💤Aside from that we found sleeping a bit uncomfortable. We were on the bottom floor in a private twin. The sheets didn't cover the mattress so often slipped off. The blankets are really thin, as are the curtains. The door is off the floor and you can hear everything outside. 🔊The biggest issue for us was the noise. Even though there's a bar and a terrace, people came to the area just outside the rooms on the bottom floor to hang out. One night we had a rowdy group there from 10pm - 1am, drinking, smoking and being generally really loud. When I went to use the bathroom, someone was throwing up there. I wasn't feeling well and after trying to sleep for three hours my partner contacted the front desk, who apologised and were super quick and kind to come and ask them to move to another area - which we were so grateful for 🙏. We got an hour of sleep before another couple came to the same spot, chatting loudly there until 3:30am, at which point I went outside and asked them to please keep it down. The other two nights were fine - there was music from around the lively neighborhood, but it stops around 10pm. I don't want to be too harsh because the staff were amazing and helped with any problem that came up. I just wonder if some signs to stop people partying right outside the rooms on the bottom floor would help avoid the experience we had. There is a terrace and a bar and hangout area near the front of the hostel, and noise is contained there. I wish other guests just used this area. It's also a problem with the walls being thin though, you can hear everything in the neighbouring rooms too, from conversations to coughs. All in all I think this is a fantastic place for young people, and would like to thank the lovely staff. If you're looking to party in Buenos Aires, this is the place for you!

Fantastic stay at the PH Palermo!! So much so, I stayed again once returning back to BA. The best experience I’ve had in a hostel while traveling around South America for a year hands down. The location, price, cleanliness and mostly the staff were simply outstanding! Many thanks to Alan, Candi and Andrea and also the very friendly cleaning ladies who do an amazing job. Was sad to leave, but will definitely visit again once I return back to BA .. 10/10

Nice hostel in the lovely Palermo area with a good price point. Stayed in an 11 bed dorm but it was spacious and there were more than enough bathrooms. Additionally, we had left a couple of items at the hostel, and they have been very helpful regarding this, to help us get the items back. Highly recommend staying here - wish we had stayed more nights.

Awesome hostel with amazing staffs and great socials - the hostel hosts daily events and is extremely engaging with everyone, it’s one of the best social hostels to meet people; the only comment is that the dorms are slightly ran down and the cleanliness can be better improved.

Amazing location in the very beautiful and lively Palermo district. The reception was always super friendly. The hostel is very cosy, has a cute inner court, a beautiful rooftop with a grill, speakers, and overall great spaces to meet people. We experienced a great atmosphere with people connecting with everyone arriving there. I recommend bringing earplugs, since some of the rooms are exposed to the common areas where people might be talking in the evenings.

Selina Palermo Soho & Cowork is a trendy and modern hostel located in the vibrant district of Palermo Soho in Buenos Aires. It offers a stylish design that appeals to digital nomads, creatives, and young travelers. The hostel features lively communal spaces, artistic flair, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Situated in a beautiful shopping district with diverse dining options and the MALBA Modern Art Museum nearby, it provides beautifully designed rooms and spectacular views from the terrace.
All receptionists were perfectly kind and responsive. All very talkative. The rooms are old, they need a paint absolutely. the bed were comfortable but smelled a lot parfumed :) All in it was a good stay.
Esra B — Google review
This has been taken over by Socia Tel and I was disappointed as it had been so highly recommended. Doesn’t have a kitchen, the breakfast passes if you buy them only grant you 3 dishes. The sunset bar is cool but the drinks are quite expensive. It doesn’t have a social feel - everyone is just working on their laptops in the communal areas. The staff are not friendly. However good rooms and comfy beds but just a bit disappointed.
Georgia G — Google review
You get what you pay for I suppose. No longer a hostel, so no kitchen, or social spaces. According to the staff the rooftop bar is closed, despite all the signs and advertisement saying it should be open. No food or drinks allowed in, so you have to go out for every single meal and experience. Unless you want to pay extortionate money for breakfast. The WiFi is HORRENDOUS and our data was blocked a lot inside the hotel as well. The rooms and bathrooms are falling apart, though the shower is nice (until it suddenly decides to burn your skin off), bathroom floor is always wet- if you're in a dorm, which makes changing difficult. Issues with people being robbed in the hotel while we were there. Plugs are built to accommodate different plugs which means no matter what plug you put in, it barely stays in. There's a balcony but no chairs or anything, so pretty much no where to chill out. Zero vibe or community here. Definitely the least social place I've been on my travels. Also the "airport transfer" just means they can call you an Uber, which you have to pay for lol. So if you're just looking for a bed to sleep for cheap, great value, if you're looking for anything more, definitely wouldn't recommend. The area was chill tbf.

This is a former Selina which went bankrupt last year. It's important to note during my stay there were 6 thefts in 6 days in different rooms, it's probably the cleaner as you need a key to enter the rooms. The hostel is currently under staffed as a lot of the events or rooftop is completely unstaffed however the staff is friendly. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are great. It's well priced for what you get however it currently functions more hotel-like than a hostel.
M C — Google review
This Selina (as probably all the other Selinas) is now a Socialtel (aka now a hotel and not a hostel anymore). There is no kitchen anymore, there were difficulties about communicating this. Not sure if the library/cinema/common room upstairs could still be used, but didn't look like it. Staff at the reception was super friendly, but that's the only positive thing I can say. Everything is very expensive (but so was Argentina at that moment). You can only use the rooftop terrace when you consume something (very expensive) there. The lobby is good for working, but the café randomly closes or stops selling coffee. There is no social atmosphere and all the organised tours/social events cost a lot of money. Everything despite the lobby looks very used and kind of dirty. It used to be nice and stylish, but now everything was dirty (especially the bathrooms not in the best shape) and lacked maintenance.. Heard so many good things about Selinas before, but this hostel I simply cannot recommend. Worst thing: after buying food supplies for the whole week, they decided to close down the kitchen from one day to another. We worked out a solution for this issue (me changing to another hostel and getting a refund for the remaining nights). Unfortunately, almost two months later, I still haven't seen any refund and communication with the hotel is very vague and not helpful at all.
Sonne T — Google review
UPDATE: THEY ARE CLOSED They don’t pay their workers fair wages. It’s a complete nightmare. Very unfortunate to see people taken advantage of like this. I live in the neighborhood and have eaten at the restaurant many times—staff were always kind and welcoming. Now around 30 employees are peacefully protesting - after being told the hotel was closing with no notice, no compensation, and no response from management. Avoid supporting businesses that treat their people this way.
Stafford M — Google review
Socialtel Selina Palermo Soho is a great spot if you're looking for a stylish, social, and well-located hostel in Buenos Aires. The atmosphere is lively, making it an ideal choice for solo travelers or digital nomads who enjoy networking. The coworking space is well-designed, with decent WiFi and a good work environment, though it can get a bit noisy at times. The rooms are clean and modern, but some dorms can feel a bit cramped. The rooftop bar and common areas are definitely the highlights—perfect for meeting people and enjoying the city vibes. Staff is friendly and helpful, though check-in can sometimes be slow. Overall, a solid option if you want to experience the energy of Palermo Soho while having a comfortable place to stay. Would definitely recommend for those who enjoy a mix of work and play!

Located in the strategic Recoleta area of Buenos Aires, MONS hostel offers a brand new and neat accommodation option. With a capacity for up to 90 people spread over 5 floors, this hostel provides comfortable pod-style beds and clean bathrooms with ample storage space. The friendly staff is always willing to help, and the location is fantastic with various dining options nearby. While there's no kitchen on-site, it's an excellent value for those planning a short stay.
Best hostel I have ever stayed! Great staff, great localization. Beds are comfortable and private, considering you can close the courtains. Every bed has dedicated lights, plug and a shelf. Bathroom is overall great both in comfort and showers. 2 elevators, hall has many tables (sometimes it get's busy, but not for a long time) and there's also the rooftop which is great (but nowere to charge any devices, so not good to work for a long time). What could be better: - Loud music on the only place to work - Loose plugs on my bed. My charger was always falling. Could be placed on the shelf or something like that. Important but not negative because it's clear before the reservation: - No Kitchen. But they make that clear in the publication. - No dedicated workspace. The tables to work are in the reception at the 7th floor. So it is noisy, not very comfortable and busy. Almost nothing negative to say. Great place, would for sure come back.

Def the best reception staff of all the hostels I've stayed at in BA (~5). Juli was awesome, and super helpful in recommending things to do/places to go. Not that many activities compared to other hostels but they do language exchanges on Friday nights and tons of people show up for that

The hostel provides bright and spacious rooms with free WiFi access. Guests can enjoy the nearby restaurants and bars while being at the heart of everything. With its lovely rooftop and patio, it's an ideal spot for couples to unwind.
This must be one of the cutest hostel in Buenos Aires! It has very calm and relaxing vibes, and the bunk beds are quite premium with the curtains that allow you to have your privacy. The beautiful rooftop, the golden retriever and the cat are a big plus! However if you are looking for a hostel with a lot of activities organized and party vibes this is not the place (alcohol prohibited).

The place is exactly what you look for when looking for a good and affordable Hostel. Rooms and bathroom are spacious and I like the fact the the beds have curtains. The common areas are good and accessible 24hr. Kitchen was maintained organized even when busy. Good guest ethics overall 👌 It's well located in the Palermo area and you can take a bus basically anywhere. Had no problems with that following Google Maps routes.

Great stay. Nice interior overall, helpful staff and ideal location. Also very quiet stay and guests were very considerate of others I thought. I would recommend more maintenance to highest level bathroom. It could use a remodel and more housecleaning services on the regular, e.g. shower was not draining, walls were dirty, and an old bandaid was left on the floor more than one day in a row.

I don’t know why there are so many super bad reviews, but my experience was great: Super lovely old house with a lot of charm and tiny details to discover. I stayed in the private room and it’s super spacious and I really liked it a lot. Good AC. The location of the house is really perfect!! You have everything you need around and are in a safe and a hip area - Palermo Soho. The staff was really friendly, is there 24 hs and you get 10% discount paying in USD cash. Also, I love the roof terrace with great sunset views. The street can be quite loud at times and overall it could be cleaner, but it’s still all right!! Also, towels are for rent, so you don’t have them included unfortunately.

Highly reccomended! I am not sure what those old bad reviews were about: The location is great because it is the heart of Palermo. Rooms are nice with curtains and plugs next to the bed. The bathroom situation is also ideal 'cause there are multiple and very spacious. But what makes this place special are the spaces and the structure; a fascinating old (but well kept) building with terrace and an exquisite patio. Overall it is a quiet hostel but is also very easy to meet and talk to people. Oh and, of course, the staff is lovely :)) (there is a CAT, Coco, absolute star, toma mate)

They have 3 hostels in the area and do lots of activities together. Especially the mate class was a lot of fun. The activities coordinator Cony is such a lovely person and made my stay a fun experience. Definitely try to stay for a lottle longer if you can to get to know the staff better and to join them for fun activities. Movie nights, beer pong, spanish class and mate class. The hostels are all in a good location where it is safe to walk around at night and close to all the bars and cute cafes.

When I return to Buenos Aires, I will stay here! The rooms are CLEAN and private. The 24 hour staff is kind and provided great recommendations and assistance when our luggage was lost. The nightly events really helped welcome me and my mother to the city and introduced us to mate. The location is also fantastic!!! In the center of Palermo Soho with many parks, markets, bars, and restaurants close by, and close to both subway and bus routes to easily explore other neighborhoods. The breakfast was not gourmet, but enough to start the day and the kitchen was well equipped if we needed something more. 11/10 will miss staying here

The best customer service!!! Bruna and Byron were absolutely amazing, they go above and beyond to make guests feel like at home! I was solo traveler in Buenos Aires and this made a big difference. My room was private, but I got to enjoy all the social aspects of hostel stay. Great location, close to metro station and many restaurants in Palermo. Ability to pay in pesos at the arrival.

One of the best hostels I’ve been in. It’s located in a great place, right next to the D line on Santa Fe, walking distance from the main pubs and restaurants in Palermo area. There are high ceiling rooms, sweet rooftop and the common areas are always clean. Although above all it’s the staff who make it great - Bruna the concierge and Gonzalo who own the place are so helpful - anytime, regarding everything. Gracias a todos <3

Great hostel. Next if you have issues with stairs this is not your place. If not this place is fantastic. From the young ladies at the front desk to the spotless rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and sitting areas. The staff is helpful in every way possible. Their English is good for those like me that struggle with Spanish. They are always sunny and smiling. I can't cover all the details but they will assist too their ability even when I asked stupid questions. I would certainly recommend this hostel for everyone. There are a rediculous amount of small markets within a two block radius. Malls within walking distance and transportation less than 100 meters away. The only issue is there is no sign out front. Just the address 5172. For a first timer it was a bit confusing. Cheers

The rooms were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were also clean and stocked. Some rooms have private bathrooms, which were also very clean and well-maintained. My friend and I spent a couple nights here. The hostel has a great atmosphere - really cute. Additionally, we stopped by for the days we were travelling through Buenos Aires. Originally we had planned on just dropping our bags but when the days came, we needed naps and showers. Hector was able to accommodate that for us multiple times - we called him our lifesaver!!! The hostel is located in Palermo, walking distance of many sites (I recommend walking to Serano Plaza if you are looking for some nightlife).

Chill House is a charming guesthouse nestled in the heart of Buenos Aires, offering a delightful blend of rustic and minimalist decor that creates an inviting atmosphere. This stylish hostel, housed in a historic building from the 1900s, boasts comfortable rooms and vibrant communal spaces where guests can unwind. The rooftop terrace provides stunning views, while complimentary breakfast adds to the experience.
We had a wonderful stay at Chill House! It’s in a fantastic location, just a short walk from Palermo, making it easy to explore the city. Nani, our host, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. As a guide himself, he provided excellent local recommendations, which made our experience even better. The breakfast each morning was delicious. Thank you, Nani, for your warm hospitality – we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed 4 nights. Very nice location in walking distant of Palermo. Rooms are decent. Comfortable matress but room could be cleanier. Shower is only slightly warm after 5 minutes of turning on and very little water pressure. We also found the service a bit uncomfortable. Seemed like the where doing some unannounced maintenance. One morning we woke up without electricity and one morning we woke up from all the noises in the hallway. We asked for a shuttle from the airport with our 2 bikes. charged us a price of 120 dollars. Quite pricey and a hassle to arrange. We managed to eventually arange a transfer on our way back to the airport.
Frank — Google review
The manager/owner Nani Nieto Vinci, shouted at us, threatened us, and forced us out in the middle of our stay simply because we asked for the fan in our room to be fixed. He even said that if we left for breakfast, he would lock us out. At night he locks the doors without informing guests, which felt terrifying and unsafe, especially as a woman. I have traveled to more than 20 countries, and this was by far one of the most abusive and traumatic travel experiences I have ever endured. The property itself is in very poor condition and nothing like the photos online. The kitchen is not accessible, the terrace is not as advertised, and the rooms are small, claustrophobic, and without windows or balconies. Towels cost $5 each, and the form of payment accepted is Western Union, which felt inconvenient. Despite paying the full amount at check-in, we were treated with hostility and complete disrespect. The positive reviews appear to be from many years ago, when the property was run as a hostel likely under different management. Please avoid this property. There are safer, friendlier, and better-managed places available at the same price, and no guest should ever have to feel threatened or locked in against their will.

We stayed twice at Chill House hostel in Buenos Aires, we came once and just had to come back. Antoine and Esteban are the best kind of owners; relaxed, friendly and incredibly helpful. They made it feel like home. The facilities are perfect : kitchen, breakfast included and a beautiful rooftop. It’s in such a great location and their recommendations were fantastic. We wished we’d stayed longer!

We loved our stay at Chill House; we felt right at home whilst we were here! The location is fine for being able to get around the city, and was quiet at night! Plenty of recommendations from Esteban to help us make the most out of our trip. Hopefully we’ll be back in Buenos Aires soon; and we’ll be definitely be trying to stay here! :-)

Wow! Definitely a great place to stay in BA when you first arrive! The staff was kind and very helpful from check in to check out. Thanks to Esteban and Andrea 🙌 There is a lot of shared areas where you chill and do your things. The place is very clean! The kitchen needs a little bit of love ❤️ but other than that it is A1. We had a private room and slept very well. There is some noise at night (so be aware) but for us, it is part of the city soul. Clean and comfortable rooms, great little breakfast in the morning. We will go back!

Nice room for a very reasonable price in a beautifully restored building. The roof terrace is lovely. The fresh oranges for juicing at breakfast are a nice touch. Staff were very friendly and offered to let us check out in the late afternoon at no additional cost as our flight wasn't until evening and they didn't need the room. Althoughh we did not get to meet Esteban he was very responsive via email. Would stay again!

We were very comfortable. The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the whole place has great heating (we came in winter so it's not a small detail). Don't go to this hostel! I canceled my reservation free of charge. I used the right given to me by the application. But they took money from my card without my request and knowledge. I called the hostel and told them why they were doing this. They spoke to me rudely. They said they could do whatever they wanted. They hung up my phone on me. A guy named Agustine did this. Don't stay in businesses with fraudulent people!

Beware that if you book online and get the price in dollars then pay at the hostel in peso they will use the blue dollar rate to convert so you must convert your money to peso first at the blue rate. If you pay in peso on a credit card it will cost you almost double what you think! Comfy beds. Good location.

Very nice hostel for the beginning of our trip in Argentina, the hostel is in a very good location in the city center next to a subway station, the crew is very nice, friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comftorble and there is a very cool coffee shop next to it so you can start your morning pleasantly. The only issues are that the location is very noisy and the spring bed is not recommended for those who have back problems.

After being buzzed through two security doors, you'll find a lovely reception area and polite, approachable staff. Unfortunately, the dorm experience was less enjoyable. No towels available (not even to hire), given linens to make our own beds, just a ceiling fan (so very hot), bathroom was a state. Luggage storage costs 50 pesos a day. Breakfast not included. Common area has TV, sofas and a table tennis table. There is a small rooftop smoking area, though it is surrounded by taller buildings on all sides. It wasn't a bad hostel, but you can do better for the money.

I was very happy, that I booked this hostel. It was very clean, friendly staff and a good kitchen with many kitchenware. After 2 months in South America, it was one of the cleanest hostels I booked there. The environment was central and secured! And on the left in front of the Hostel, is a very nice, clean and good taste Café, called „Café siete“. Supermarket and restaurant are very closed to the hostel. You can stay your luggage in the hostel for more days, and a small price for this! I would come back to this Hostel.

Bill & Bill Hostel San Telmo offers a mix of private and shared rooms, with a spacious kitchen and inviting living areas for socializing. Under new ownership, the hostel has undergone significant improvements, ensuring a clean and comfortable stay. The location is ideal, surrounded by diverse dining options and convenient access to amenities like markets. Guests praise the attentive customer service provided by hosts Mauricio, Mabel, Erica, and the team.
Let’s make this clear! The hostel is under new owners and they are brilliant. They are not the people who left the place with bedbugs and filth. That’s all gone. There are great private rooms and dorms for a mix of people. This place is in a great location and you have excellent restaurants mixed with cheap fruit and veg options, plus a carrefour just 25 steps away. The team of Mauricio, Mabel, Erica, and the rest can teach many hostels and hotels a thing or two about customer service. They will listen to your request and do whatever they can to accommodate you. It’s 5 star service at 1 star price. Day by day the place gets closer to the finished product and the new owners have spent a great deal of time and effort to make the place special. I will definitely be coming back in the future. Hit water showers, a team of cleaners that seem to be working 24/7 and excellent security. Thank you Bill and Bill team for the great stay. Lee

BED BUGS!! As another comment said, which I unfortunately did not see when I reserved this seemingly fine hostel, is that there are bed bugs and the staff is not taking care of it. Plus shady management. On our second night we woke up to realize something had bitten us everywhere. We opened the covers to realize bed bugs. We immediately got up to take a picture and go share this with front desk so they can immediately handle this. The lady up front was very nonchalant about it, almost didn’t care. We made no fuss, simply said we were leaving immediately and would not stay our third night. We asked a very reasonable request of refund for the last night. Well, excuses with the manager is not here and the manager is going to do it… three days later and we haven’t received the refund. This place might look suspiciously cheap in a good location. It is too good to be true, don’t fall for it unless you want the hassle of dealing with bed bugs.

Andrew F — Google review
The only positive thing about this hostel is its convenient location. Unfortunately, everything else was a disappointment. I stayed for three nights, and it was one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve ever had. They placed me in a dorm where the staff were also living, which had no windows or air conditioning, they claimed the hostel was overbooked. During my entire stay, there was no hot water anywhere in the building—the excuse was that “too many people were using it.” Basic supplies were constantly missing: no toilet paper, no hand towels, or soap and I had to go down to reception several times just to ask for them. The bathrooms were poorly maintained—the cleaning staff used large amounts of bleach in the showers, which ended up damaging my clothes because there were no hooks or hangers to keep them off the floor. Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing. Unless major improvements are made, I would strongly recommend avoiding this hostel.

Casa Rosada, also known as the Pink House, is a historic and iconic presidential palace located at the eastern end of Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires. Its distinctive pink color symbolizes a blend of Argentina's leading political parties. The palace has been witness to significant historical events, including speeches by Juan and Eva Peron from its balcony. Visitors can explore this grand structure and also discover nearby attractions such as Catedral Metropolitano and the Cabildo.
This is a really beautiful palace set at the end of a plaza, which itself has lovely surroundings. However the best pictures seem to be from the other side. The palace itself is a really beautiful and significant building, this palace really stands out in the city. It has some unique architectural features and really ornate front. You can get some lovely pictures when its quiet, as its set in an open area. Well worth a walk around.

It is a striking, pink presidential palace and government headquarters of Argentina, located in Buenos Aires, presiding over the historic Plaza de Mayo. Known officially as the House of Government, it serves as the official workplace for the President of Argentina and is a significant historical landmark, famous for events like Eva Perón's addresses from its balcony. It is considered one of the most emblematic buildings in Buenos Aires. Current President apparently only uses it for official functions. Very popular place, lots of tourists and locals. Easy terrain, lot of easy walking. Fee charged for entry. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen.

Housing the Presidential Offices, it’s the seat of Executive Power of Argentina. It’s an imposing palatial Italianate architecture (a spin off from Italian Renaissance) at the back end of Plaza de Mayo. 🏛️🏛️🏛️ The building (finished in late 1800s) seats on a historically important fort that was built by the Spanish crown back in the 1500s. Casa Rosada is unusual in its pink color. *** One version of the story is, the color is an attempt to neutralize colors of political parties. *** The other is a more architectural one: the original government house was painted with white combined with animal blood. Blood seals the paint to protect the building from humidity (the palace sits on a swamp area of the city). The Pink color becomes very strikingly vivid at night when the palace is very well lit. 🏛️ In front of Casa Rosada is the equestrian statue of General Belgrano, one of the leaders of May Revolution of Independence. 🏛️ at the foot of the monument is Buenos Aires’ COVID Memorial for those who succumbed to the pandemic. Names of the departed are painted or engraved on the pile of stones.

The Casa Rosada stands as the undeniable, iconic heart of Argentine political history, instantly recognizable by its distinctive, soft pink facade that dominates the eastern side of the historic Plaza de Mayo. More than just the official seat of the President, this architectural marvel - a blend of Italianate and French elements - is a powerful symbol of national governance, having been the silent witness to countless pivotal moments in the country's turbulent and fascinating narrative. Its commanding presence, especially when viewed against the backdrop of the city, evokes a sense of enduring authority and historical weight, inviting visitors to reflect on Argentina's rich democratic journey. Seeing this landmark up close provides an essential connection to the nation's identity and its public life.

Casa Rosada: The Political Heart of Buenos Aires 🏩🇦🇷 The Casa Rosada is one of the most iconic symbols of Buenos Aires and Argentina. Located in Plaza de Mayo, this magnificent building serves as the seat of the Executive Power of the country and is a historical landmark that attracts visitors from around the globe. Its name, which means "Pink House," comes from its distinctive pink color, a result of mixing lime with natural pigments. The architecture is a blend of neoclassical and baroque styles, making it even more impressive. The building was constructed in the late 19th century and has a rich history that reflects the highs and lows of Argentine politics. One of the most iconic features of the Casa Rosada is its famous balcony, where Argentine presidents, including Eva Perón, addressed the people during historic moments. This balcony has become a symbol of connection between the government and its citizens. Visitors can take guided tours to explore the interiors of Casa Rosada, which include luxurious halls and spaces filled with history. The tour provides fascinating insights into Argentine politics and significant events that have shaped the country. Additionally, Plaza de Mayo in front of Casa Rosada is a vibrant location surrounded by other historical buildings, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral and Cabildo. It’s a great place to stroll, take photos, and soak in the unique atmosphere of the city.

On my previous trip to Buenos Aires before C-19, you were allowed to go inside. They had guided tours. I believe they have stopped this now. However, it is still worth going to see the exterior of this historical building. Throughout the history of Buenos Aires, the location of Casa Rosada was the seat of various successive political authorities who governed the country. The first thing you are likely to notice is the distinctive colour. It was from the balcony here, at the presidential palace, that Eva Perón famously addressed the throngs of impassioned supporters packed into Plaza de Mayo.

If I could describe Argentina’s airport in one word, it’s queue… 🙈😂😅 Queues everywhere—at Duty Free, for boarding, in the restrooms, and even to buy a water. The restaurants are packed, and the noise level is high. I flew on a Saturday, which probably made it worse, but the airport is small for the volume of passengers it handles. If you’re stuck waiting for more than two hours, good luck—you might go crazy from the noise and lack of space. Best to arrive as late as possible, just in time to check in and get through security. Duty Free is a small. Prices are high, and there’s really no point in buying anything unless you’re desperate🤣😂. On the bright side, the staff are very polite❤️ and helpful. The food options are decent and not overpriced. One bar I discover was Fausto. It looks a bit messy and poorly maintained, but it’s one of the quiet spots in the entire airport, giving a break from all the madness. I found a healthy yogurt for 3,800 pesos—big cup, no sugar, and super tasty. ❤️❤️❤️Definitely a highlight! Restrooms? Clean, but the queues are ridiculous. 😱 In summary, expect crowds, small wins like perfect location and friendly staff.

Beautiful airport but not foreigner friendly at all. 1. Money changer is not at the arrival hall, it’s at the departure hall 2. The bank has only one counter in operation 3. None of the money changer signs are in English 4. There are buses outside but no information where to buy the tickets or card

Aeroparque is a small, convenient airport located just 2 km from downtown Buenos Aires, making it ideal for domestic flights and some regional international routes. It’s easy to navigate, but at night, options like stores and food points can be limited. The proximity to the city is a huge plus, but during peak hours, it can get crowded. Overall, it’s a solid choice for short trips within Argentina or nearby countries, though it’s not as well-equipped for late-night travel as other airports.
Nicolas L — Google review
Flew roundtrip to Córdoba from Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery, and overall, it was a smooth experience. The airport is conveniently located close to the city, making it much easier to get in and out compared to Ezeiza. The check-in process was efficient, and security lines moved quickly. The terminal itself is modern, with decent dining and shopping options. Boarding was well-organized, and flights departed on time. The only downside is that it can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours, and finding a good seat in the waiting areas can be challenging. Also, some areas could use better signage for first-time travelers. Still, for domestic flights, AEP is a great choice for its location and efficiency. Would definitely fly through here again!

Actually, I like this airport. The lower floor (check-in) is crowded but the upper floor is less. I hope my conception won't change in the next few times I am going to be here. Accidentally, I got a long waiting time and I survived. I found here my favorite cafe "Martin Café". I got enough time to explore the airport and it's immediate neighborhood. See my pictures.

Plane landed in the rain, and we had to take the slippery steps down the jetway, on the rain, and they did not have enough employees to assist the elderly. And then, they filled up the bus, and didn’t realize it was full, and made several people walk…back up…the metal steps to the airplane, in the rain as other people were trying to get off of the airplane, so passengers were bunched up at the entrance to the airplane and a lot of people were just standing on the slippery steps in the rain trying to get back up to the airplane. These are metal steps. It was not safe. A bit of a disaster and could be really quite dangerous for an older population. They should have made sure that everyone who had a cane or needed assistance was able to safely navigate the wet metal steps with someone helping and/or allowed everyone to exit the steps slowly. There also should’ve been either a second bus waiting, or an employee (accurately!) counting the amount of passengers that were getting on the bus, so that they knew that it was full and did not have to send people back up a slippery flight of steps where they were meeting other people trying to come down the steps! I tried to take a photo from the bus, but it was raining pretty hard, and it is difficult to see. I’m just glad nobody fell!

This airport needs a massive update. Small, extremely crowded, hot, signs and staff only in Spanish, parking lots are the worst of the worst - no sign at all to tell you where rentals are supposed to be dropped off. Traffic jams and chaos.

Bus station
Terminal de Omnibus Retiro is a spacious and clean bus station, although it can be a bit confusing to navigate due to its layout. Some travelers have encountered issues with finding departure information and ticket booths, so it's advisable to arrive early. The terminal offers clean bathrooms and generally feels safe. However, there have been some complaints about inconsistent information from vendors regarding luggage allowances, which can be inconvenient for long journeys.
I have been there at 8 p.m. on a sunday to take my bus 30 min later. The monitors showed me directly to what gate I need to go and I found it easy to navigate the terminal. Even though it was dark outside I felt very save, especially because there were many other people. The place was clean and I had a good stay.
Leo H — Google review
Huge bus terminal with around 80 bus stalls. On the plus side, it is fairly easy to navigate (although the announcement for departing busses are not repeated and difficult to hear) and it easy to buy bus tickets directly from bus companies on premise; it is also conveniently located right next to two important local train stations. On the minus side, there is a definite lack of places where to comfortably wait for your bus, especially due to the abysmal selection of horrendously overpriced cafes that offer very, very little in terms of comfort and food and beverage choices. There are also very few kiosk where to buy a snack or a drink for your travel and so many seem to be permanently closed. Overall it is not unsafe, but you do have to be mindful of your belongings at all times. That means that it is very unlikely you'll ever get physically attacked, but if you are not careful your belongings might get stolen without you even noticing. Being the main bus terminal of a metropolitan area of over 16 million inhabitants it is perfectly understandable for it to be so huge, but if you arrive in Buenos Aires by bus, this is not the greatest welcome to the city.
Niccolo' B — Google review
Very large bus station, easy to navigate. You buy your ticket at the counters depending on which geographical side of Argentina you are traveling to (north, east, west or south). If you don't speak Spanish, it will be difficult to communicate. However, the employees are very kind, helpful and friendly and will be happy to help you. The toilets are destroyed and very dirty without soap and paper; an unpleasant smell of urine spreads throughout the station. In general, the entire station is dirty and untidy. There is no free WiFi. If you need an internet connection, you can go to one of the restaurants or cafes where you also get the option to connect to the internet (if your order something). You will find several restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops at the station. Buses are regularly late. Follow the notifications on the main screens and be patient. Delays can be up to several hours. Have a good journey!
Kristina K — Google review
A terminal just like any other. The plus side is that it is possible to get hot water for the mate by paying 300 pesos. Apart from that, you need to be careful with your belongings around this area.
Lucas M — Google review
A very busy and large coach station in Retiro, Buenos Aires, with a wide range of destinations. However, it’s not very practical if you're in a hurry or unfamiliar with the layout. The departure screens show bus times, but some information can be missing—so you need to be extra careful when checking for your bus. I also found a lift that wasn’t working, and since I had luggage, it was difficult to access the upper level. There aren’t many escalators either, which made it even harder to move around. The station could definitely be more user-friendly. Make sure you have enough time to get into your bus!

Actually quite lovely. Never in my life have I seen a public place where they would allow such careless smoking. I actually don’t care but be warned. Other than that it’s pretty organized. Just works.
Pazz — Google review
This bus terminal is located near a large slum, and it was recently refurbished, by developers who must write a book called "How to ruin a place". Really I cannot understand what they did. They removed a paralel corridor, so people gets cramped at the main corridor. Also many bus tickets are closed, but it can be understood. The thing I cannot understand is why they closed the main councorse, so you must enter by a lateral entrance, filled with Informal sellers in your way to it, who sell mostly clothing and a large array of electronics, even computers (not to dare ask how they got it). Also they removed the payphones (i needed to use one here some time ago due my phone was stolen here. This is a high crime area) , the pay machine of power outlets, wifi and SMS, so come here with your phone full of energy, and the pay TVs. The thing not changed is the high prices in anything you tryna buy there. Toilets were improved and I didn't see any beggars this time. The solution for me is called Carlos Lecueder. He runs many bus terminals in Uruguay, and really it are much better than this, with fairer prices and food chains like BK and Subway. He also wanted to run Retiro. Tres Cruces Montevideo is much better than Retiro by so far.

Situated in downtown Buenos Aires, it provides easy access to popular shopping streets like Florida and Lavalle. While some guests note the lively atmosphere created by Brazilian visitors, others appreciate the spacious and bright rooms.
The hostel is super nice, located in what used to be an old house in the center of Buenos Aires, where you can easily get to the main city attractions with the public transportation. The staff is super friendly, ready to help with any question about the city or any other needs you may have. I highly recommend it!

Nice hostel. Great location. Decent breakfast. The path to the bathroom doesn't have a roof so when it rains, the floor is soaking wet. And 3 out of 6 showers worked. Would stay here again.

The place is great, breakfast is not the best of the world, but it what you need. Too many brazilians in there which makes the place happier/louder. Rooms are ok, showers are ok as well, they need to improve the toilets, because you are always going to see that someome else was there before and not because of the smell. Cleaning is very good, the rooms dont have individual wall chargers, location is perfect (Near Obelisco), staff is very helpful. My only complaint and thats why i gave you 4 instead of 5 is the WIFI, it really sucks, its very slow and the staff is not very open to fix it.

Well located: 3 blocks from July 9, 10-15 minutes from Porto Madeiro, close to several restaurants, bus stops and metro. The hostel is an old house building with high ceilings. Reception and kitchen are in the middle, with the rooms and bathrooms all around. Large rooms, clean and air conditioned, the staff is friendly and attentive, they can provide maps and many tips. As improvements could serve some hamp at breakfast and have newer bath towels.

➕ well equipped kitchen with ♻, friendly staff that let me sleep when jetlagged rather than chasing an atm, female dorm had comfortable bed. Central place but quiet corner which is great if you're looking for solitude and a good night's sleep rather than socializing. The hostel values feedback. ➖ half broken 🚿 with burning hot water unclear labeling which was hot /cold, only sweets for breakfast. WiFi crapped out a lot despite few people /low season. But it quickly got back to normal as well. Many people works in return for staying at the hostel which is both a pro and con. It was unclear sometimes who was working or a guest. Children were constantly running around.

Che Argentina Hostel is a charming and casual accommodation nestled in a historic building that once served as the headquarters for democrats in Argentina. Located in the vibrant San Telmo district, it’s just 1 km from Buenos Aires' bustling center and close to notable attractions like the Cabildo Museum and Mayo Avenue. The hostel features a shared kitchen, inviting bar, and a lovely terrace equipped with BBQ facilities—perfect for socializing with fellow travelers.
It was my second staying in this hostel, and I had a chance to compare it with some other hostels after my first staying. I must say, that it's a really great place to live, and it's even better than most of the 2-3* hotels in Baires. Excellent lounge, nice furniture and decorating, very kind people who speak good English, perfect location and security, and, what was really important for me, very high level of cleanness in every part of hostel. As I think, the only reason why it's not a 'hotel' - they have a kitchen, ha-ha :) Well, reserve room in Che Argentina without any hesitation! :)

A great place to stay! The room we stayed in was simple but stylish and included a balcony as well as a separate area off of the main bedroom with a table and chairs. V&S is located near the Obelisk and Teatro Colón and is near several Subte (metro) and bus lines so it is easy to get around the city. Cristina was a fantastic host who was very attentive and shared great recommendations for things to see and do in Buenos Aires.

The hostel functions mainly with messages and detailed instructions via WhatsApp. The room where I stayed was spacious, clean and water pressure excellent. WiFi did not reach this room but it is not a problem as it can be accessed from the common rooms. The kitchen can be used for cooking or heating up food. During an internship in Buenos Aires, I stayed at V&S for a lengthy amount of time. The hostel is located in a central part of town and public transport is at your doorstep. I enjoyed spending time in the communal area as there is a lot of greenery and different places to sit and relax after a day of exploring the city. However, I did have one major problem with this hostel. During the first week, I was placed on the middle floor and had no problems at all. However, I was moved to the top floor and the first night I got bitten by beds. I am also allergic to them so my reaction was worse than the other 2 girls. The hostel is not occupied with a receptionist after 3 pm so we tried to contact the hotel owner but had to wait until the morning to let her know what happened. There was 3 of us staying in the same room, so I feel like she acted quickly and got our bags fumigated and washed all of our clothes for free. After this incident, I was moved to the very bottom floor and had no problems for the remainder of my stay. They also changed all of the mattresses and bedding on the top floor and fumigated the rooms. I had to leave my big bag in the bag room on the communal floor though in case there was still any traces of bed bugs. In saying all of this, I would recommend this hostel for a short stay in Buenos Aires.

We had done a lot of research for a place to stay where we can walk around anytime, meet other guys traveling, and be in a good neighborhood. This place was perfect for that. We chose a private room with a private bath, being a couple gives us more privacy . There are shared rooms and shared bathrooms which work great for single guys . Plenty of friendly guys from all over visiting Bueno Aires. We met some great people and made some friends too . From the street it's easy to miss the place but once inside it's very spacious with a great outdoor area. Several of my pictures are of the cathedral just behind the sundeck so please don't get confused. There were amazing views from the top deck.. also one picture from our room looking out the window at the cathedral, amazing. If you want a great place to stay and meet other like minded guys this is your spot.

Really disappointing and unprofessional. I reserved directly through Javier, the owner, on WhatsApp. He confirmed the dates. I told him the hour of the arrival. Two days later, on the morning of the my arrival, I sent again the exact time I’ll arrive. He confirmed! Then suddenly, 2 hours before my arrival time, he writes to me that the dorm room I booked is now full, cause apparently, they didn’t keep it for me, and they continued offering it, if you don’t pay in advance. But the thing is - he didn’t ask me to pay in advance or mention anything about the room not being totally booked, on the contrary - he confirmed twice my booking. He didn’t tell me that this might happen and that if I want to truly reserve the room I need to pay in advance! Then after canceling he offered me a more expensive room, without offering to compensate me. And the worst thing - when I wrote to him that it puts me in very uncomfortable situation in the last minute he took no responsibility, didn’t apologize and gaslighted me writing me this message: “To confirm, we ask for payment in advance. Like any other hotel. People don't come later if they don't pay” - But this is the thing - he didn’t ask me to pay in advance and he confirmed my stay twice. It was very uncomfortable to find myself without a place to stay in the last moment. Very unprofessional conduct. I’m disappointed of both what happened and even more of the way he handled it and the bad energy. I highly recommend to not book there, and if you still do, make sure you pay in advance. Editting after reading the disgusting reply from Javier: What a liar!! Just don't go there!! I asked him just one more time before about prices and availability on other dates, I thanked him for the information and said that I'll let him know if it's relevant. Never confirmed it. That's it. one time. In his reply to this review he tries to present it as if I said I would come several times and that I'm not serious and... bored (wtf...). It's lies and it's disgusting. I have screen shots of the conversation. I hope no one goes there. And it's really bad karma to lie Javier. Don't go there.

James G — Google review
When staying in Buenos Aires, I wanted to stay at a gay place and El Lugar Gay is just that. While the location is not bad, and the amenities are ok, El Lugar Gay stands out for having an amazing friendly, helpful staff. Located in the historic San Telmo neighborhood, the bed and breakfast hotel is next door to a Tango dance venue (there was also some tango in the bed and breakfast on the sun deck), and less than a half block away from a famous outdoor festival and music park and the street fair marketplace on weekends. Many young natives walk around with giant bottles of beer and marijuana. I have never seen so much musical celebration anywhere else in the world. While I would stay there again for the people, and the location is convenient to some venues, the location is not as prime as some of the other gay hotels. With the subway located about 10 blocks away, and several flights of stairs to my room, I lost 5 pounds in my 8 day stay thanks to all of the walking. Although I was also watching what I ate, and eating moderately of the plentiful delicious food in Buenos Aires. Of course, what earns Lugar Gay its 5-star rating from me is the friendly assortment of staff and handsome visitors from Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Columbia, U.K., Asia and U.S. that were there. The size of the building and number of guests was just right for making new friends. The choice of private and shared rooms, along with sun deck, fountain dipping pool, private and shared showers and lounges makes it easy to choose time alone or with new friends. For safety and security, guests are discouraged from bringing local strangers into the hotel, but the staff does not balk if you sign in a visitor. The free morning continental breakfasts were limited to coffee, tea, cereal, sweet rolls, apples and bananas. Compared to the U.S., Argentina is definitely a 2nd-world country with many crumbling buildings, sidewalks and streets. But it is a beautiful cross between Mexico and Italy with plenty of fancy, historic architecture and some downright impressive parks, restaurants, sightseeing, night clubs and entertainment. Argentinians are largely of white Italian descent. Visitors will need to speak some Spanish to really get around comfortably as there are not many English speakers in Argentina. I attempted several times to conduct some business in Buenos Aires, but largely failed in several attempts to see real estate and to trade Bitcoins for Argentine pesos. All real estate agents told me there were no properties for sale despite seeing several for sale signs, and all Bitcoin sellers told me they were too busy to see me (my poor Spanish was no doubt partly to blame). The positive spirit of the Argentine people was powerful. While there are plenty of downtrodden, struggling families, I do not remember seeing a single individual angry or upset in this upbeat country. Along with an appreciate of tourists, Argentina has a very strong spirit of freedom, human rights, politeness, dignity and love. Like most places on earth, Argentina still needs to make progress in economic reforms. An increase in free enterprise, a reduction in welfare and ending of harmful protectionism will some day allow Argentina to fully realize its potential wealth. While I failed in my attempts to take part in real estate and Bitcoin transactions in the city, overall my stay was a memorable success thanks to the helpful staff and friendly guests at El Lugar Gay, and I hope that yours will be as well.

Simple but clean accommodation in a great location. The bathrooms are shared but very clean and we never had to wait to have a shower. Bedrooms basic but comfortable. Kitchen available to use and nice terrace to enjoy. Was nice to find a hostel that doesn’t try to rip tourists off. The owner advertises a price and accepts this in cash on arrival (unlike bigger hostels in BA which charge tourists close to twice the official rate for payment in ARS).

We had a very comfortable stay here. There is a fan and air-conditioning in our room, so it was not stuffy. We also appreciated having lots of shelf space to put our belongings. Wifi worked fine from the rooms too. The shared bathrooms were kept clean throughout. There were four shared bathrooms over two floors, so we never really had to wait to use one. There is also a small shared kitchen, with space for two to sit at any one time. The utensils and equipment in the kitchen have definitely seen better days, but we had no issues preparing simple meals here (you will need to get your own cooking oil and condiments). Decent location near the San Telmo market, with lots of shops and restaurants around. It was easy to walk to the nearest Subte station (Independencia), as well as other nearby places of interest such as Plaza de Mayo and Puerto Madero. The reception hours are from 1-6pm, but we had no issues communicating with the staff via WhatsApp outside of that time. They also kindly allowed us to store our backpacks for a small fee when we left Buenos Aires for a short 3-day trip to the Iguazu Falls.

(Translated by Google) The place is simple, but it does what it offers. The photos are actually better than the reality. The hostel attendant is very friendly and helpful, and we give her and her service a 10 out of 10! The bathroom is shared, but I never had to wait to use it. The only negative point was the smell in the room (I believe it was from the mattress). It smelled very strong of sweat, and there was little air circulation. There was a mismatch regarding the address, which on Booking.com was number 579, the correct number was number 556 (across the street).

(Translated by Google) Absolutely terrible. To start, the breakfast that is included in the accommodation is from 9 to 11, served by the receptionist. We were there at 9 o'clock and no one showed up until 9:40 a.m. to put breakfast on. We asked what seems to be the owner, an older woman who lives downstairs and she answered "Well...". Breakfast sucks: watered coffee, wrinkled muffins and nothing else. No toaster, no fruit or anything! When we got up the first day there was no toilet paper in any of the 4 bathrooms of the hostel... It was enough to have an emergency. Our room had a window that looked directly onto the chairs on the communal terrace where you could hear absolutely everything, perfect for sleeping..... You go to shower and find a mouse trap. Room not very clean and smelly. Very worn bedding. We had booked 3 days and after the first we went to another hotel. It's worth paying a little more, seriously.

Benita Hostel is a charming downtown accommodation housed in an old colonial building. The stylish and bright decor, with white walls, big windows, and chic parquet floors, creates a beautiful ambiance. The hostel offers well-equipped communal spaces including a kitchen and lounge for guests to enjoy. With a small number of rooms and dorms, the family-owned 3-story house provides a friendly and warm atmosphere. Guests appreciate the friendly staff who are accommodating and keep the place clean.
The hostel team is amazing: Damian and Gina were super welcoming and my stay unforgettable! The atmosphere is very familial. The hostel is in a nice and central neighborhood, in a lovely old house. I recommend it 100%. I will definitely come back!

This is a well positioned place to stay.Close to many glorious amenities The family owned 3story house has a small number of rooms and dorms allowing for a more friendly and warm place to stay. Jose is the Father, who is generally on duty in the morning and throughout the day. He is extremely sweet. I wish my Spanish had been better in order for me to talk to him. His Son and partner Gina were generally on in the evenings. The hostel has a young vibe but guests are generally quiet and respectful where necessary. No marauding drunks at this hostel. It is full of people travelling through South America. The hostel also has returning guests which is always a good sign. I do feel the hostel would benefit a laundry room for guests. The bunk beds in dorm rooms should allow a person to sit on bed comfortably without stopping so perhaps increase space between upper and lower bunks. More kitchen utensils ,pack of cards and a more mixed age group would really make this a great hostel. Private rooms are a little over priced in comparison. I will return!

Friendly staff, nice and clean place. The only thing that annoyed me was how hot the room in the back of the building on 2th floor gets. It needs urgently an refrigeration system. If you’re staying at Benita in summer, be sure to choose one of the rooms that are located close to the main room, so you get some of fresh air from its air conditioning.

Attention fraud!!! As I arrived at the hostel, I was first told that the price I had booked through Hostelworld was incorrect and that they were charging three times the original price. Then they informed me that no beds were available and wanted to drive me to another hostel. However, they refused to share the name or exact address of the new Hostel (only told me that it’s another juniors hostel). When I declined, they offered to show me the location on Google, but they couldn't even find it themselves. I felt really unsafe so I decided to leave. Additionally, there was a strong smell of marijuana in the building, and it was apparent that smoking was happening in the private rooms of the hostel's owners.

Fantastic hostel, by far one of my favourite places since travelling South America. Rooms are clean, comfortable and very spacious. There is also a well equipped and clean kitchen. Thank you Rio Plateado!

I'm not really sure how this place has a nearly 5 star rating: The pros: Absolutely massive rooms compared to most hostels (other hostels would probably try and fit twice as many bunks in) Location, in the absolute heart of Palermo which is a great district Cons Very uncomfortable mattresses and bunks that are very shaky with no rail for those on the top (if you're on the top bunk I really would only want to stay here one night max, not sure if its that much better being on the bottom). Often there is no one at reception so you can wait some time when checking in for someone to show up They charge in Peso at their own rate which is much lower so actual price paid is significantly higher than what is being shown on booking.com. I'd suggest just paying in cash than using their converted rate. Pretty limited bathrooms and shower facilities (two toilets in total (unisex) with only one having a lock, and two showers per gender).

Had a fantastic experience at this hostel. Having stayed in numerous hostels across BA, this one really stood out to me. It's conveniently located and new, offering spacious and clean facilities. I loved the added amenities like the tennis table, co-working room, and stable WiFi. The daily cleaning and periodic professional cleaning ensure a pristine environment. Plus, they offer free yoga classes twice a week (donation-based). What truly sets this place apart is the empathetic owners who go above and beyond to make your stay exceptional. They're always open to suggestions and actively improving the hostel. I can't wait to return on my next visit to BA! Highly recommended.

Comfortable, the rooms are nice, the sheets are clean, the bathrooms are clean, everything is fine. The best part: you can leave your bags after checkout and go about your day peacefully, without carrying things around. The staff is always nice, always a good vibe. They have a free pizza night (yes, FREE), they take you to a little bar with an open bar... I mean, what more could you want? Now, the only detail I don't agree with: they have a ping-pong table, but the staff plays poorly. Very poorly. They didn't even win a single match. I'd tell them to start practicing for the next one, because we went undefeated. Do I recommend the place? Hmm... I don't know, maybe... if you don't mind beating them at ping-pong.

Folk Palermo is a cozy accommodation located in Buenos Aires, just a short distance from various attractions such as Plaza Serrano Square and Buenos Aires Japanese Gardens. The hostel offers comfortable facilities including a terrace, 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, and free WiFi. Guests have praised the impeccable facilities and heating system. Visitors also appreciated the warm hospitality they received during their stay, feeling like part of a family with attention to every detail for a pleasant experience.
Great hostel with fantastic location in the middle of Palermo. So many great bars and restaurants around the corners, very close to many bus lines and subte station. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful and always happy to assist. Someone is at the front desk 24hr and I like the added security of having to be buzzed in by them. The cleaning staff is efficient and works very hard. There isn't a full kitchen with burner stove, but there is a microwave and fridge on 1st floor and toaster oven and sink on ground floor, with plates and cutlery. The beds and sheets were comfortable, shower always had hot water, and the lockers were spacious. Bring your own lock and towel, or you can purchase from them. Shampoo is provided. One small suggestion for the staff would be to add a window cover in the dorm rooms to block the sunlight.
M G — Google review
Great hostel in a perfect location. Palermo felt very safe as a female traveler. The front desk staff is very nice, helpful, and speaks English. The kitchen just has basic things, not a stove/oven. Great vibes in the hostel and met some great other travelers. We had two nights of very loud messy roommates but that is not the hostel’s fault. It could be a little bit cleaner especially in the bathrooms. They do allow you to store luggage before and after check in and check out, and it’s in a locked room when it’s stored. Towels and locks are not included but you can rent them. The bunks do not have privacy curtains, which is something I’ve seen in Southeast Asia hostels. Overall I wish it was cleaner but the location is so great that I would certainly stay there again.

The hostel has an ideal location, is very clean, has comfortable beds, pleasant common areas, and fantastic employees, everything was great! The hostel does not have a kitchen, if this is important to you it is good to know. There is a small oven, so with a little creativity you can easily prepare some food, and I didn't lack anything myself. I was there in low season, so the hostel was very calm, which was ideal for my situation. I hear that it gets busy during weekends/high season, and with the good atmosphere it seems like a good place to meet other travelers during that season. All in all the hostel is definitely recommended, I recommend this hostel to my friends when they visit Buenos Aires, and also highly recommend you visit Folk Palermo! The dorms are comfy, 4 bed dorms with a balcony to the city and a lot of space to your staff. A fully equipped kitchen. The stuff is great, Sebastian and Camilo are there to help with every question me or my friends had. The general vibe is very friendly and welcoming. There is a good laundry service in the place too. Value to money guaranteed!

We had a good time in Hostel Downtown. The WiFi is really good, you can cook your meals in a kitchen and store your food in a fridge, there are several bathrooms and it’s quiet. The staff and especially Camillo is super friendly. Camillo helped us with all our questions, he gave us recommendations for the city and restaurants, helped us with our SimCards and was always there for a nice conversation. I just gave 4 stars because of the rooms. There look old and very simple. Our Ventilator was super noisy but mandatory to sleep in the hot room at the top of the hostel. The bathrooms need a renovation as well. I’ve seen a construction worker at the hostel so probably it’s getting renovated but just needs some time. Everything else was fine. Thank you for everything 😊

(Translated by Google) For the price you can't expect much. Building is quite run down and could use a makeover. Reception was good. Everything was very clean, everything is cleaned every day. Bed (for two people) was not much but okay. (Original) Voor de prijs mag je niet veel verwachten. Gebouw is redelijk vervallen en mag een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Receptie was goed. Alles was in ieder geval heel erg schoon, elke dag wordt alles schoongemaakt. Bed (voor twee personen) was niet veel maar oké.

(Translated by Google) We spent one night. It was good enough to rest, and that was it. We were placed next to the bathroom, and it was a terrible noise every time someone went in. You could hear everything, and the door didn't close properly. The room looked like an illegal abortion clinic: no windows or ventilation, hospital beds from World War II, and the only thing in the closet were hangers. You get there via a crooked staircase that gets narrower and narrower. The first floor, where the reception and kitchen are located, is nice and makes a good impression, but when you go up, the atmosphere is different. The bathrooms had a foul odor and were always wet; the toilet didn't flush properly, but there was toilet paper. The positives were the location and the price. The service was good.

(Translated by Google) The staff is genuinely warm, the facilities are impeccable, and the atmosphere invites you to stay. The shared kitchen becomes a comfortable place where incredible friendships are born. The location is perfect, but what truly captivates is the warmth of the staff. Marta, the owner, is super professional; she cares about every detail. Cleanliness is one of her priorities, and that's incredibly motivating. I went out into the streets delivering food to people in vulnerable situations, and she collaborated with me and was part of the initiative. It's not just a hostel; it's an experience that leaves a lasting impression. I will definitely return.

(Translated by Google) Incredible place, very attentive. Fully equipped, there's a kitchen and shared refrigerators. Half a block away, there's a really nice pedestrian street full of things. I was really pleased, hence my 5 stars! (Original) Increíble el lugar, muy atentos. Todo equipado, hay cocina, heladeras compartidas. A media cuadra hay una peatonal re linda y lleno de cosas Yo me quede conforme la verdad, por eso mi 5 estrella !!

(Translated by Google) No towels (4,000 pesos per towel), no heating, stairs (unavoidable), uncomfortable pillows and beds, especially the pillows are weirdly shaped, not soundproof at all so it's hard to sleep. By the way, it was a double room. The window above the door is open, but it's not a place where your hand can close it, so you can't close it. It's not soundproof even if you just leave it, but since the door is open, the wind and sound come in so it's no different from sleeping outside (It's so noisy until 4 amㅠㅠ I almost went crazy whenever guests came and went. The whole room shook.) Oh, and the wifi works in the room, but it's very slow. The bathroom has warm water, but the toilet doesn't flush. The only good things about it are the price and the location. There's a reason it's cheap. I realized it again this time.

(Translated by Google) Excellent location, close to everything. Please note that there are a lot of stairs (depending on the room you occupy). Good cleanliness. Highly recommended for people who want to use the place to bathe and rest. It has Wi-Fi, kitchen utensils, hot water, an electric oven, and a refrigerator (shared). Quite complete. Bastante completo
