Shopping
Patio Bullrich is a luxurious shopping center housed in a stunning 19th-century building located in the upscale La Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The mall features high-end boutiques, a food court with international level restaurants, cafes, and fast food options, as well as six cinemas. Surrounded by elegant hotels, embassies, theaters, museums, and historic sites, Patio Bullrich maintains its neoclassical architecture and noble ambiance.
One of the best places to go to a variety of stores that you can't find in many other places so many amazing restaurants with classic Argentinian food overall a ten out of ten
Victoria — Google review
Salvatore Ferragamo anchors the mall. It’s in Recoleta neighborhood, across street from our hotel Sofitel. It’s mixed domestic and international midrange shops, such as Zegan, Pandora, MaxMara and Omega. It’s nicely laid out, very pleasant, with a garage.
Irene E — Google review
Great collection of designer stores. Got a comfortable shirt from Key Biscayne but for some reason their store isn’t found on Google maps here

Shopping mall
Galerías Pacífico is a unique shopping mall located in the heart of the city, at the intersection of Calle Florida and Avenida Cordoba. The grand building, designated as a national historic monument, boasts stunning murals and impressive architecture. Since its opening in 1992, it has been home to a variety of internationally renowned stores such as Christian Lacroix and Polo Ralph Lauren.
This is a large mall with a food court. It's beautiful inside, so even if you don't intend to purchase anything it's worth seeing. You can enter from several different points, and it's next to Florida St. which has even more shopping.
Heather S — Google review
This was my first time visiting Galerías Pacífico, and it truly lived up to its reputation as a must-see destination in Buenos Aires. The architecture is absolutely stunning, and the murals throughout the building offer a rich visual experience. With a wide variety of shops and dining options, there’s something for everyone. The Centro Cultural Borges adds an extra cultural layer, making the visit feel more meaningful than a typical shopping trip. Overall, Galerías Pacífico beautifully captures the diverse and vibrant spirit of Buenos Aires.
Mae A — Google review
Galerías Pacífico is not just a shopping mall, it is a piece of Buenos Aires history. Built in the late 1800s in a Beaux Arts style, the building was originally inspired by Le Bon Marché in Paris. Over the years it served as home to the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and later the offices of the Buenos Aires and Pacific Railway before becoming the shopping and cultural landmark it is today. The architecture alone is worth the visit with its high arched ceilings, murals and elegant design that make it one of the most beautiful malls anywhere. Beyond the shops you will find decent restaurants, a couple of nice bars and the Centro Cultural Borges which adds an artistic touch to the experience. A mix of history, culture and modern shopping under one roof Galerías Pacífico is definitely worth a stop whether you are shopping, dining or just admiring the building itself.
Steve M — Google review
One of the fancier malls I've been to, up there with the Avenues Mall in Kuwait. A food court is on the lower levels with a variety of offerings, and you have your general mid to high tier shopping options throughout the rest of the mall. Place has fascinating architecture, and also has a museum on the top floor.
Patrick C — Google review
If you are looking for international brands or just a place to get some refreshment, visiting Galerías Pacífico to admire the architecture and take a nice break to rest up and get going.
Iris H — Google review
One of the most beautiful shopping centre I have been in. Better then Chadstone 🤣 Really high quality stores inside. Wonderful food court
Stephen L — Google review
Beautiful gallery, but without thst many options of stores. I recommend visiting it there though.
Andre R — Google review
Nice shopping in the center of the city. It is renowned for its architecture and murals by famous Argentinian artists. Also, around Christmas time, it has the most beautiful Christmas tree in the city. I would pass to eat here, but there are nice cafes. Shopping experience depends on the exchange rate of the peso.

El Ateneo Grand Splendid is a remarkable bookstore located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Housed in a former theater that dates back to 1919, this elegant establishment retains the grandeur and charm of its theatrical past. The bookstore offers a unique experience for literary enthusiasts, with its ornate frescoed ceiling and detailed balconies providing a stunning backdrop for browsing through an extensive collection of books.
This was voted one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, and I can see why. The decor, atmosphere, displays and selection of books and vynal records makes this not only a bookstore but a destination. We had coffee, next to the old lighting switch board and stared in awe of the beauty of the paintings on the ceiling. It was crowded but it made it a little more exciting. That's something you see in an average bookstore, absolutely fabulous.
Anthony D — Google review
El Ateneo Grand Splendid is hands down one of my favourite places in the world!! As someone who loves theatre, soulful music, architecture, history, and, of course, books, this space felt like all my passions collided in the most beautiful way. 📚🎭🎶 Housed in a former theatre, it’s one of the most ornate, nostalgic, and inspiring places I’ve ever visited. It’s masterfully designed, beautifully executed and such a thoughtful way to preserve a piece of Argentine history. ✨ There’s something truly magical about browsing books from within theatre boxes or sitting on the former stage, now a charming café, enjoying an apple tart with my family while imagining the performers who once stood there. We visited multiple times and spent several hours here each visit. The music section was a standout for me, especially the rich collection of world music and the incredible opera vinyls. It was soulful, global, and deeply inspiring. El Ateneo brought back memories of the bookstores I used to frequent in high school and university, places like Borders, where I could lose hours in the aisles. It was especially meaningful to pick up books by Argentine authors I’d never encountered before. The children’s section was also wonderful! A perfect place to find Spanish books for my son, many of which we still read together today. If you’re a book lover, theatre enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates beautiful spaces steeped in history and culture, El Ateneo Grand Splendid absolutely deserves a spot on your bucket list. An incredible experience!
Candace L — Google review
This is a must see bookstore, so impressive; built in a former theater with thousands of books in a really impressive building. Open till 6PM. There is also a small section with English books. There are also some balconies where you can sit to read in a really nice environment, but were unfortunately almost occupied every time. We also went for a drink in the Havanna cafeteria, which is in the back of the bookstore.
Petra ( — Google review
A truly lovely bookshop, repurposing a beautiful old theatre. With places to take a book to read, this place provides a calm space amidst the hustle & bustle of Buenos Aires. Personally I loved the vinyl records section. Free to enter and with no queue, there is also a cafe and toilets. A ‘must visit’ place.
David S — Google review
El Ateneo is surely the most stunning library I even been and I strongly suggest anyone to pay a visit to such piece of incredible art. The store was created out of a former theater and it keeps all the history and paintings. Spaces get crowded in the weekend but we were able to see through all book sections in a Thursday evening. Amazing!
Marco R — Google review
This old theater, which is now a large bookstore, is well worth seeing. It's beautiful! There is also a café inside, but the service is very slow and there are better places to go. If you want to buy a book, there are very few staff members to help you. It takes some time to find someone.
Gingerfilm L — Google review
El Ateneo Grand Splendid is truly one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world! Located inside a stunning old theater, it’s an absolute must-see when visiting Buenos Aires. The moment you walk in, you’re amazed by the elegant architecture, the preserved stage and balconies, and the beautiful ceiling details that make the whole place feel magical. The atmosphere is calm and inspiring perfect for book lovers or anyone who enjoys art and culture. You can browse through an incredible selection of books, sit and read quietly, or simply admire the beauty of the building. There’s also a charming café set right on the former stage, where you can enjoy a coffee while taking in the view of this magnificent place. It’s not just a bookstore it’s a unique cultural experience that combines history, architecture, and literature all in one. Absolutely worth visiting, even if you’re not a big reader!
Lg G — Google review
This isn't just a theater that has been converted into a bookstore where you can eat on the orchestra stage. It's also just a great book store with tons of genres and types. If you're visiting from out of town, definitely pop in for a few photos.

Arcos Open Mall Review Arcos Open Mall in Palermo is easily the best open mall and outlet in Argentina. With great discounts on top brands, stylish shops, and a cool vibe, it’s perfect for shopping and hanging out. The renovated railway setting adds charm, and the cafés and restaurants make it a great spot to relax. It can get busy, but it’s totally worth a visit! Gil Antiguedades is a unique shop in Buenos Aires that specializes in antique items from the past century. The store has more than 6000 pieces of rare and beautiful antiques, including clothing, jewelry, and furniture. The atmosphere is elegant and vintage clothes can be found at prices that are not cheap, but the merchandise is worth it.
Everything there evokes an epoch that has long gone, only those tangible items left to remind us those people who lived a very different yet similar lives than ours.
L L — Google review
One of the best antique shops in Buenos Aires, especially if you are looking for true antique items of clothing and jewellery. Authentic Victorian dresses and bakelite bracelets. Prices are not cheap, but the merchandise is worth it.
Barbara F — Google review
(Translated by Google) Is there less than one star? I don't think so, and until they enable it I will only have unpleasant words for the couple who runs the establishment. It has a great diversity of antiques and collectibles, that is what stood out the most because it is difficult to find all that type of things together. But that's where my good opinions end, because the attention left a lot to be desired, added to the fact that it is difficult to "see" things because everything is poorly distributed and it is extremely easy to turn something over. Careful! Recommended only for people immune to bad treatment.

(Translated by Google) This woman is very rude. She followed me around the store the whole time, making me very uncomfortable. At the end, she told her "friends" that I had stolen from her. She has problems and needs treatment; first she quotes one price, then another, and she wanted to overcharge me. I've shopped with her twice, but I won't shop with her again because she's not fit to serve customers. She kicked me out of the store, grabbed my arm, and assaulted me. Out of all the malls in BA city, this is one of the quietest. I have visited many times and never seen it crowded, so you can shop and grab a coffee at your own time without having to wait. Good variety of brands too. Good place to hang out and spend some money!

Art gallery
Juan Pérez Vintage Clothing and Art Gallery offers visitors a wide range of clothing and art from different eras. With pieces dating back to the 1800s, the gallery is a great place to find fashionable clothes that also showcase your artistic side.
I was looking for a thrift store and a friend said she loves this place. I would never call this a thrift store. I would describe it as a "vintage boutique". There's a fantastic selection of well , curated items that all seem a bit nostalgic. The gods smiled upon me and I found a terrific pair of winter boots in exactly the right size for a trip to Tierra del Fuego. I spent much more than I had planned because I thought I was going to a thrift store, but I know the brand and they were in such good condition that it was like buying new boots. There's an entire upstairs area that I did not go to because I did not want to jump myself. I'm only traveling through the area and my luggage space is very limited. I think you could find wonderful things here if you're looking for something classy and vintage. I'm not sure if this is something cultural that local people would already know but for me from the USA it was strange that I had to show ID (my passport) and check my backpack in a locker before shopping. It wasn't a problem at all because the locker has individual keys. Just something that others may not be expecting. Happy shopping!
A W — Google review
You can find here something pretty good. There's a weird DNI entry system… I wouldn't buy branded items from them, as they are hardly tested for originality. For example, I saw a fake Fendi for 600 dollars
Iuliia P — Google review
This place is ridiculous. A most unfriendly dude required my passport information and entered it into some random I-don’t-even-know-what. Then I had to put my purse—yes, just a regular purse, into a locker. For what? To prevent me some stealing some boring, stained, damaged “vintage” clothing? No, this is garage sale crap. An “old” shirt from H&M is not high quality vintage. It’s 50¢ in a neighborhood yard sale. Total waste of time. If you’re just visiting, don’t go out of your way.
Maggie — Google review
It’s an interesting store, I think that is the best adjective you can use in this case. I mean is a big store, they have some vintage pieces, but fits more like a typical second hand store with few nice pieces, specially the designer ones but I think those are TOO expensive and i have some news budy THEY R NOT NEW!!! SO???Apart of that some of them are not in good condition AT ALL, doesn’t worth it. A big part of the standard clothes and shoes (like regular cheap prices) are damaged and they don’t care about it, they leave them displayed(I think is just to make the visual trick of a “full store”).And something that is important for me because I’m super allergic is the smell...I mean, everything smells like old and has dust, it’s a bit disgusting at some point. But in general it’s an experience and you find some cute things like the miu miu glasses case I bought. Check it on the pics. 😉👋🏻
Va M — Google review
Too expensive for used stuff, basically u pay full price for used item, and u will waste time entering because u need ID. Also if u want to sell an item, they will make you wait 3 months for payment and by that time inflation will make it pointless. Better sell somewhere else or gift you clothes.
Bobi M — Google review
Should have read the reviews before going. Has some nice items but they are expensive. Paying full price for used items. Requires an i.d to get in. Also won't allow you to use the restrooms.
Callie O — Google review
Pricing system doesn’t make sense and is misleading. Rude staff and entrance protocol is absurd
Maggie B — Google review
Awful entrance protocol. You're considered a shoplifter before you entered the shop.... They take your personal details before you access and get your handbag locked... As a shop manager, I have an understanding of the security measures, but come on! This is secondhand clothing, plus they have a massive camera system placed in... I think they need to chill out. I changed my mind because of the protocol, and I got pretty abused by the staff at the door, saying that it was all written down at the door.... Thanks, but no volveremos!

Recently been there for a private event. Nice terrace to decompress and enjoy skyline of Buenos Aires at twilight. I saw plenty of choices to eat (the usual suspects on any mall food court) and drink. Kinda weird location for big mall if you are used to do a lot of public transportation but makes total sense for drivers who commute from Buenos Aires City to Nordelta through Av. Páez and the north corridor. I took an Uber to get there, so I'm not 100% sure about inbound buses but I've heard they literally drop you on a stop in the middle of Av. Páez some 500m from the mall. Outbound is less painful with one or two stops in front of the mall that will return you effortlessly to Plaza Italia.
Christian A — Google review
There were pigeons inside the food court, and seeing them immediately made me wonder how many more might be around, both seen and unseen. It created a sense of poor hygiene and lack of proper maintenance. For a place where people are meant to enjoy their meals, this was definitely an unpleasant and disappointing experience.

Nestled in the historic San Telmo neighborhood, Mercado San Telmo is a vibrant outdoor street market that has been captivating visitors since its establishment in 1897. This bustling hub is a paradise for food enthusiasts and vintage seekers alike, showcasing an eclectic array of vendors offering everything from fresh produce and meats to traditional Argentine delicacies like empanadas and dulce de leche.
I was at the Mercardo San Telmo just over a year ago. It has some good restaurants inside and also just around the market. You can buy all sorts of high priced things as well as lots of tourist items.
Isabela — Google review
From the outside, Mercado San Telmo looks like one of those old, forgotten places, but once you step inside, it’s a completely different world. The market feels like a little maze filled with hidden treasures and charm. You’ll find everything from vintage collectibles and antiques to quirky souvenirs and handmade items. It’s not the most polished market, but that’s exactly what gives it character. One of my favorite parts was the food. There’s a nice variety of stalls offering everything from traditional empanadas and grilled meats to coffee, pastries, and even international bites. It’s a great place to try something new or just sit and enjoy the lively atmosphere. The vibe is relaxed and casual, and it’s very easy to spend an hour or two just browsing, people-watching, and discovering interesting little corners. It’s perfect if you enjoy markets that feel more local and authentic rather than overly commercial. Don’t be put off by the worn-out exterior. Inside, you’ll find color, culture, and creativity. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re exploring the San Telmo neighborhood. A great spot to pick up unique gifts or souvenirs with a bit of soul.

Mateusz B — Google review
There’s something about this market that feels like the soul of Buenos Aires. It’s not trying too hard. It just is. Artists, makers, musicians. All showing up with their full selves. I found pieces here that I truly love. Not just pretty things, but items that feel rare, soulful, and deeply rooted. Silver jewelry that caught the light in this really beautiful way, leatherwork that smelled like earth and tobacco, woven textiles with such care and intention. My son picked up a few handmade instruments. Real ones, not toys. Solid, well-made, clearly made with pride. He still plays with them and talks about the lady who sold them to us. That kind of connection doesn’t happen in big stores. There was a Spanish guitarist playing a few blocks in, and the sound stopped me in my tracks. Something about it - raw, emotional, honest - brought tears to my eyes. Then we turned a corner and there they were: live tango dancers, just out in the open. I’ve danced Argentine tango for years, but watching them in that setting, in the middle of the street, felt completely new. Like something clicked. Even the shops and galleries along the way had a kind of quiet magic. The old buildings, the soft wear on the tile floors, the way the light filtered through. It all felt curated without being staged. If you’re coming to Buenos Aires, especially for a short time, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s a crash course in the spirit of the city. It’s slow, it’s soulful ❤️

Awesome Market. I highly recommend for the tourists to visit. JUST BE CAREFUL WITH SOME OF THE BAKING WITH BEEF/CHICKEN - I did get food poisoning. But that is from a stall holder, not the market responsibility. Other than that, there is so much shopping choice. From handcrafted items, to artisan cheeses and preserves, meets and salamis, bread, clothing, olive oil and much more. Make sure your go to the center of the market, where the real stuff is. There is another market attached on the outside that is mostly everyday irems, a lot imported from China. In the very center of the market there is big a stage with live entertainment all day long. Inside the market there is also a museum. Buy a very cheap ticket that lets you go in and out. The bathroom inside is not flash, but better than outside. There is a small cafe inside with a $1 coffee!! Its rustic and basic and lovely. There was a free folklore performance next to the cafe as well. A wonderful authentic experience.

I'm disappointed. The quality of the products sold here is very questionable. Not worth the hours going back and forth. Maybe everyone enjoys it because of the performance (!?) But that definitely doesn't take place every weekend.

I came here on a Sunday, mid day. It was cold and drizzling on and off even though it was mid nineties a couple of days before. The park had a handful of sellers, belts, knives, jewelry. Kind of stuff you would see at Ricoletta park on a Sunday. However it seemed that only the die hearts showed up. No gauchos or music no crowds. There were some food stands including a patilla. So i bought a steak sandwich. It was pretty good. Come back when it's nice.

Worth a visit, a library inside a charming house with a fireplace, small garden but the arrogant and posh "owner/director" did not give me any desire to stay more than 5 minutes...the place is 4,5 * but him was 0 *

If you're looking to immerse yourself in the essence of gaucho culture while visiting Buenos Aires, Talabartería Arandu is a must-visit artisanal boutique. This charming shop offers an array of authentic Argentinian souvenirs, from traditional mate gourds and stylish alpargatas to cozy ponchos and down vests perfect for chilly evenings on the pampa. The inviting atmosphere is filled with the rich aroma of leather, making it a delightful experience for any visitor.
A great place to buy authentic Argentinian souvenirs from Gauchos/Panchos to beautiful jewelries, hats and leather clothings. They have such friendly and welcoming staff.

You can buy beautiful and classic meta tea cook tools here. The staff are friendly and can speak English. The male staff are all handsome and humorous.

Great shop with quality gaucho apparel. It's quite expensive, but that's part of the point. The good quality of the boots, hats, etc. I haven't found elsewhere, so in that sense you get what you paid for. Great service as well. They gave us mate and a cool calendar.
Josiah J — Google review
I really wanted to go here and through the windows of the shop it looked like it was probably a fantastic place. Unfortunately I could not find the main door. The sign on the main glass door said to use the other and no matter which other I tried I couldn't get it to open. Probably me and I still recommend checking it out if you can figure out how to get in
Stacey W — Google review
I loved the quality of wool and leather goods here. Most staff spoke English and accepted USD. They also had plenty of alpargatas which I did not expect.

Awesome place to grab leather goods! It should be your go to place for all quick awesome gifts! I purchased my yerba mate cups here, some awesome leather footwear, and great keychains here they take credit card and cash. The smell of leather is strong here so be prepared to be surrounded by leather! Great place and worth checking out especially if you're in the area looking to checkout the awesome theatre book store near by

Rossi & Caruso is a renowned leather goods store in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The quality of the products is excellent, and the shopping experience is wonderful. The store attracts horse enthusiasts and serious riders with its fine-quality saddles and horse-related gear. Non-equestrians also visit for the favorable exchange rate.
I spent a day walking all the leather goods stores in Buenos Aires (in Recoleta and the M.T. De Alvear & Florida areas). Rossi & Caruso had the most buttery and softest leathers. Close behind are El Lucero and El Boyero.

Went in with plans to buy a new bag after touring the cemetery, but I suppose I wasn’t dressed nice enough. The man working followed me around as if I was going to steal something and never offered any assistance. Not friendly. No music. Quiet empty shop. Weird uncomfortable atmosphere. It was highly recommended to visit and shop here but the experience wasn’t great.

Very happy with the service and the quality of products. Bought men’s dress shoes here 3 months ago and the quality has not faded at all. Went back today and bought another pair as well as a men’s messenger bag. Favorable exchange rate = excellent quality and craftsmanship for what would cost at minimum 75%-125% more for comparable quality in the US. And hey, its something you always know came from Buenos Aires, one of the great cities of the world.

The shoe store Comme Il Faut is a hotspot for female tango dancers, with an impressive range of high-heeled shoes for evening and dancewear. The prices can be a bit steep, but the quality is excellent. It can be tricky to find, tucked away in an alley off a busy street, but it's definitely worth the hunt!

Charming tango shoe store! Located at the end of the Rue des Artisans side street, on the second floor. The staff were so welcoming and the shoes were stunning!
Kate H — Google review
Poor value for money. They're expensive shoes with very low quality. I paid for genuine leather shoes but it's just plastic! All the lining started to tear off after just a couple of times I wore the shoes. I contacted them and asked me to go to the shop and change the shoes but I live more than 10000km away! Please don't waste your money! Avoid scams and don't buy these shoes. It's a shame cuz they're beautiful but very low quality.

The Buenos Aires Central Business District is the main commercial centre of Buenos Aires, Argentina, though not an official city ward. While the barrios of Puerto Madero and Retiro house important business complexes and modern high-rise architecture, the area traditionally known as Microcentro (Spanish: Microcenter) is located within San Nicolás and Monserrat, roughly coinciding with the area around the historic center of the Plaza de Mayo. The Microcentro has a wide concentration of offices, service companies and banks, and a large circulation of pedestrians on working days. Another name given to this unofficial barrio is La City, which refers more precisely to an even smaller sector within the Microcentro, where almost all the banking headquarters of the country are concentrated.El Microcentro es un barrio no oficial de Buenos Aires, por lo tanto, no tiene límites establecidos; su ubicación se superpone aproximadamente con el barrio de San Nicolás y parte de los de Monserrat y Retiro.

Unique hand-made leather goods of superior quality. I bought a gift for an aunt that lives in London and she loved it!

I don’t recommend this store! Their products’ quality did not meet up, despite all the filtered fancy ad on social media. My experience was an acapulco tote. After only 2weeks, both handles have a broken end due to filling/tubing defect (see photos). The seller refused to do repair by claiming that the bag “is not flawed”, and claimed that this piece can be unique due to handmade process. What a nonsense! My bag was clearly manufacturing defect with broken handles. I gathered the store claimed this to avoid free repair on their end. Whilst it offered an exchange, i will need to cover both shipping costs. In conclusion, terrible customer service and product quality not meeting its price tag. FYI, i spent USD340+ in a bag which was marketed as a travel/beach bag and it is not usable after only 2weeks!

The French Embassy and Lavalle Street are notable landmarks nearby. Considered one of the world's top five opera houses, it has welcomed renowned artists like Maria Callas and Luciano Pavarotti.
One of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever visited! Walking into Teatro Colón felt like stepping into another era—so elegant and grand. The tour was fascinating and made me appreciate the history even more. A truly unforgettable highlight of Buenos Aires.

4⭐️ for the building, 5🌟 for concert performance of I Puritani, 2⭐️ for the producers who reduced a great opera to a concert 👎👎👎 Indeed it is a very very very poor decision for reducing an Opera to a concert, no matter how good the orchestra and chorus are. AT THE PRICE CHARGED, BUENOS AIRES DESERVE A FULL OPERA!!!! Janet Pratt, who sang Elvira, is an OUTSTANDING OPERA SOPRANO 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗. She managed to act despite the concert setting. SHE IS ALSO VERY EMOTIVE IN HER SINGING…. WOW 👏👏👏👏👏 IT IS TOO BAD, Teatro Colon stifled / MUTED HER TALENT by this concert concept to showcase an opera…..REALLY REALLY BAD DECISION. 🏛️ Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colon is indeed one of the great opera houses in the world. .*** The building is a unique Ecclectic-Neoclassical architecture built at the turn of the 20th century. *** Acoustics is fantastic, the stage is large, the theatre is well designed. ISSUES: 👎 the boxes, meant for 4, is cramped with 6 seats 👎👎👎 the restrooms are very small, they need serious updating

Visited here as part of a guided tour. There aren’t many tours in English, and their timings didn’t suit my tight schedule, so I opted for a tour in Spanish. Although I couldn’t fully understand the narrative, I fully appreciated the stunning architecture, stained glass, statues etc. Everyone talks about the amazing acoustics, so the tour left me wanting to return to see a performance.
David S — Google review
Buenos Aires's Teatro Colón is arguably the world's most spectacular opera house, offering an experience that transcends mere performance. Stepping inside, one is immediately enveloped by the stunning, opulent architecture - a lavish blend of Baroque, Renaissance, and academic styles featuring rich velvet, gold leaf, and vibrant frescoes that transport visitors to a bygone era of grandeur. However, the true marvel lies in its legendary acoustics, scientifically proven to be among the five best globally, ensuring that every note, from the softest whisper to the most powerful crescendo, reaches the audience with flawless clarity and balance. Attending any event here, whether opera, ballet, or classical concert, is a profoundly moving cultural rite that confirms the Colón's status as a beacon of artistic excellence and historical splendor.

Absolutely breathtaking! The Teatro Colón is one of the most beautiful theaters I’ve ever visited. I saw the ballet Onegin here, and it was a truly unforgettable experience - stunning performance, perfect acoustics, and an incredible atmosphere. The audience was so passionate and emotional - I’ve never seen anything like it in any other country. A magical evening in Buenos Aires!

This large and popular shopping mall is located in the heart of Buenos Aires and features chain stores, a children's museum, a food court & a cinema. It has an art deco architecture that is as much a attraction as the 250 shops spread over its five levels.
A large shopping mall for shopping (of course), casual dining, or simply looking around. Take Subte (red line) and get off at Carlos Gardel, and you’ll be right there.

Cool indoor shopping plaza with SO many stores. Very well attended on Sundays. Of note were two very large McDonalds and also a Kosher McDonalds! Kids were enjoying rideable pandas (electronic) and unicorns. There was also Neverland play area.
Diana R — Google review
A crazy experience. The mall is really big with a bunch of different stores from providers, to big brands, electronics and a full foodcourt. The craziest thing was the little amusement park on the top floor which floored me. Rideable attractions and lots of stalls with sweets and what not. It was very very busy so if you can handle a lot of stimuli at once this is the place for you.

Good shopping mall with lots of stores including the Children's Museum. My 6 years old daughter really loved there!
Fábio — Google review
Wonderful place to take the kids, or just the adults. We went to the kid's place and they had a blast. The only drawback was that they seemed to be short-staffed, and most of the people running the rides were running back and forth between them to operate them. Not ideal when it's the middle of the holidays, and lots of kids are off from school and parents are walking around shopping. It was quite hot in there to boot, as if the AC wasn't working properly. I'd go back, but probably in the winter-time.

Meh, I'm not much of a shopper but the food court is better than average shopping mall grub (kosher McDonald's? Yep), and the cinemas are great (at least one 3D flick between 1-2 am in Fri-Sat, but crazy those nights. Matinees during week way more chill). Not the most glamorous mall in BA but my favorite.

San Telmo Market is a renowned covered market in Buenos Aires, offering a wide array of antiques and vintage items. While the feria only takes place on Sundays, the market's small shops are open daily, providing an assortment of goods such as old license plates, lamps, magazines, and cassette tapes. The weekends are particularly bustling with all shops open and great deals on vintage clothing including shoes and bags.
A lovely, lively market in the old town. There are still some traditional stalls selling fruit & vegetables and other goods, but the majority are now food outlets. This is a great place to stop by for a snack and/or drink, with plenty of options available. A vibrant, friendly place; welcoming to tourists as well as locals. A ‘must visit’ place.

Very nice market with several options of foods and drinks. The prices are very affordable, so can't complain. There are several options for eating and drinking, capable of satisfying all tastes. We had a four cheese milanesa at Milangueria, which was extremely good while being cheap.

A lovely historic market that is house under cover with a lovely wrought iron construction. The market has a few different entrances but all lead to the central hub where you can pick up antiques (so many antique shops in San Telmo), fresh fruit and veg, spices, meats, souvenirs etc. It is also a great place for Asado, meat cooked over hot coals. The market gets very busy during the day as it is a popular place to eat but then quietens down after the non-eatery stalls close around 6pm. The whole place closes at 8pm. The food is of high quality and reasonable priced.

Casa Cavia is a magnificent mansion in Palermo, Buenos Aires, that has been transformed into a multifaceted space. It houses a modern restaurant and bar with a charming garden, as well as a flower shop and publishing house. The cuisine is curated by Julieta Caruso, an experienced chef from the renowned Mugaritz restaurant in the Basque Country. The menu offers breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, and dinner options.
What a great evening for a peaceful and delicious dinner in Buenos Aires. Coming from San Francisco I wanted to eat as much Argentinian food as I could. The chef here is very creative and I ate some food that I never ate before. For example, the fish was grilled protection and then had a Sauce with the crunch coming from shaved cauliflower. It’s worth a nice visit and a relaxing evening. You can dress up or dress down. There’s even a little scene going on. This is one of the places to go.
David S — Google review
Lovely restaurant with a beautiful courtyard. Food-wise however, there are better restaurants in Palermo with less than half of their price. Also each portion is very small here as expected in fine dining restaurants. My steak was supposed to be medium rare, but it was a touch overcooked, therefore a little dry. Sourdough bread was nice and moist inside, but a bit too chewy outside. Traditional Argentinian dessert was beautiful. Service was fine, inattentive at times when the restaurant got busy. Overall, nice dining experience for the atmosphere but I was expecting better quality food from a Michelin restaurant.

Casa Cavia isn’t just a restaurant - it’s an experience. Nestled inside a beautifully restored 1920s mansion in Palermo Chico, this absolute gem blends gastronomy, design, literature, and art under one stunning roof. From the moment I arrived, I felt like “This would be good …” and so it was.
Mat T — Google review
Absolutely stunning place, a renovated mansion turned restaurant. My friend and I ordered the tea for two, which came with an incredible amount of food for the price, and while everything was delicious, the highlight were the scone. I would return just for those. The staff was friendly and the heat lamps in the patio kept it from getting too cold.

✨ A Hidden Gem in Palermo Chico ✨ Nestled inside a stunning mansion in Palermo Chico, Casa Cavia feels like stepping into a dream where architecture, food, and culture blend seamlessly. It’s the kind of place that draws you in for lunch or coffee – and then makes you want to rearrange your day just to stay a little longer. The staff? Warm, welcoming, and ready to guide you through a menu that’s equal parts elegant and delicious. Each dish is a celebration of fresh, local ingredients – simple yet sophisticated. And while the food is incredible, the real magic happens in the back garden, where the ambiance steals the show. Think of it as more than a restaurant – it’s an experience. Casa Cavia carries that Michelin-worthy charm without feeling too formal. Honestly, I came for lunch before heading to Malba, but next time? I might visit Malba just because I’m already at Casa Cavia. 😏

When I arrived for my brunch reservation I was seated and waited for almost 30 minutes for someone to come over to ask if I would like something to drink. I finally got up and asked the lady at the coffee counter for help. I ordered the pasta with fava beans and peas and was quite disappointed. The pasta was overcooked and wet, the dish did not have any distinguishable flavor. The decor is beautiful and the outdoor area is a serene and beautiful place however the food and service are not what I had hoped and expected. I had very high expectations for a restaurant that gets high acclaim. I hope this was a one off experience. Perhaps brunch is not the time to go here.
Dana G — Google review
Great service, delicious food, and truly wonderful atmosphere! This is a delightful, peaceful spot to stop for merienda. The rest of the menu looked very creative and enticing, as well, so I'll have to go back for a full meal. The prices are relatively high but seemed commensurate with the great quality food and experience as a whole. The staff was extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming. Highly recommended! EDIT: I went back for a light lunch, and I was absolutely blown away by what I ordered! The liláceas, vieiras tostadas y ajo blanco (a starter that I ordered for my main meal), was an explosion of freshness and deep flavor! I don't remember the last time I had a dish that truly made my mouth water just thinking about it. The individual ingredients were of excellent quality and were exquisitely prepared. I had the panna cotta de jengibre con cítricos y cedrón for dessert, which was wonderfully light and not too sweet with perfectly balanced flavors. The staff was, again, absolutely wonderful. What a great experience!

I bought four pairs for friends and myself and the payment was done in cash with lots on currency bills, that's now a big issue to Argentina carrying huge number of local 1000 bills.....the store is amazing and the service impeccable!! The quality is the best!! Thanks Rodolfo and Martín.

Great variety in terms of material, design and quality. The man know his shoes, problem is theres is only one shape and two types of heel for women and it hurt my girlfriends feet. Best quality I saw, try it, cause if it fits for you you hardly find better.

I have visited this place many times and the staff is always incredibly attentive even if you don't buy anything at the end. The shoes are quite expensive but they have a good variety of models and seem to have a decent amount of stock in all sizes. The store is small and can get quite crowded.
Elisa F — Google review
I went here to buy shoes for my friend back home. She'd looked on the website and seen a few pairs she liked but wanted to see them in more detail (the shoes in the shop look completely different in colour from those on the website). When I got to the shop I asked if I could take a photo of the shoes (in better lighting than on the website) to send to my friend. Despite insisting that I'd buy a pair if they allowed me to do this I was told I could only take one photo of one shoe. So rather than spending A£2100 in this shop I went to Angelina where they were far friendlier (and have a much better website).

Beautiful display of gorgeous shoes... The colors are vibrant and they fit smooth. $21thousand pesos is too much for me but maybe some day....
Karina S — Google review
Great shoes and service. I love the soles on their shoes which they describe as "chromo". It looks a bit like suede but with a very tiny loft. After a few weeks of use, the soles turn smooth and are a breeze to pivot on. This alone makes these shoes very worthwhile. I visited in August, 2018 and the exchange rate was about 30+ to 1. At the time, men's shoes were roughly $80/pair, which is what I paid, but in Argentine pesos. I bought a pair of NeoTango shoes over a year ago at a festival in the US and was charged $200. You're much better off dealing directly with the source. Unfortunately, their website leaves a bit to be desired as of 20181106. All prices are in Argentine pesos rather than dollars. This leaves open the question of exchange rate which makes the final price unknown. As such, I would be reluctant to order online from them.

On Sundays, Plaza Dorrego comes alive with artists, musicians, and tango dancers, creating a colorful and dynamic scene. Meanwhile, Calle Defensa transforms into a pedestrian walkway where artisans showcase their crafts and musicians entertain passersby. The energy of the area is palpable as street performers add to the festive ambiance of this historic neighborhood.
