The 'water mirror' opposite of the bourse buildings is awesome! Such an excellent idea! This artist may get followers and copy cats all over the globe. The water is refreshing, makes the public happy and relaxed, allows kids to enjoy a city visit and provides poor citizens with a place where they can mingle with everyone else in a relaxed way. It also gives enough water for great flowers and the gardens/park pieces next to the water mirror. And, when quiet, the reflection doubles the grandeur of the bourse buildings. Best place of Bordeaux in my opinion.

I visited Place de la Bourse in Bordeaux at night and it was a wonderful experience. The whole area looked magical with the lights reflecting on the beautiful old buildings and the famous water mirror. The fountain and lighting together created a peaceful and charming atmosphere. I spent a few hours just walking around, watching the reflections, and enjoying the calm breeze from the river. The place was lively yet serene — people relaxing, children playing, and tourists taking photos. It’s one of those spots where you can simply sit and take in the beauty of the city. If you are in Bordeaux, an evening visit to Place de la Bourse is a must. It truly captures the heart and elegance of the city.

Fascinating creation right next to the river. You can see a clear reflection of people and buildings, if it is not too windy. They have two different exhibitions, a mist spray followed by about 2cm deep of water coming up from the bottom.

The Miroir d'eau is just a playground with sprinkles. It is right next to the promenade at the river and across the street from the Place de la Bourse, not in front it, as appearing in the touristic brochures. The thin layer of water creates a reflective surface for the sky or Place de la Bourse buildings across the street. Popular water playground with children and to sit around to cool down in the warmer months or as a gorgeous, instagramable setting for pictures during the day or at night.

An interesting location and use of water in a public space. Unfortunately the day we were in Bordeaux it was windy. The evening was calmer and allowed for some good reflections.

What's not to like? Highly recommend removing shoes and socks and paddling around in it. It was refreshing on a day that was in the high 30s in degrees. We spent over an hour paddling and splashing and people watching. Definitely take a visit

Hard to fault this place. I visited around 6 years ago and it’s only got better. A comprehensive tale of world wine history. A good tasting on the 8th floor featuring international wines. I tried a Swiss wine that was new to me. There are lockers to hold bags as you wander. Excellent easy to use audio guide. A good Bodega. Prices are not crazy they cater for all tastes.

LOVED this amazing museum!! It had the most immersive experience including aroma generator technology that I did not know existed. You can smell the aromas of a myriad of scents that are produced from wines, cognac, liquors, and champagne. And the production, service, and industry is covered at great detail. Fun for everyone of all ages. And the ticket provides for two samples on the 8th floor with spectacular views! The restaurant food is excellent, with both vegetarian and meat, seafood offerings. The desserts are amazing! Love the model and the story behind this innovative museum created from a competition around 2010.

Cité du Vin wine museum offers a fascinating journey through the history and culture of winemaking. The exhibits are well-curated, blending tradition with interactive displays. It’s the perfect place for wine enthusiast. After the exhibits, you can go to the 8th floor to enjoy a panoramic view of the Garonne river in Bordeaux while tasting your favourite wine.

Highly recommended to visit! They share wine knowledge in a fun and interactive way. You can easily spend 2–3 hours there without even noticing the time. A super interesting place if you love wine! We went on a Monday, and it was still fairly busy. Probably best to avoid weekends!

It's a highly informative and beautifully interactive museum. Make sure to try the wine tasting on the top floor—the view is beautiful, but the wines are average. If you have two days or more in Bordeaux, this place is definitely a must-visit.

Whether you are a wine drinker or not. This is by far one of the most interactive museums you could go to. Well priced and super modern. It has Something for everyone. Plus the tickets can come with wine for before or after visit, this area showcases great views of the city. The wine shop they have is also a big plus. Some fantastic local and imported wines.

Plenty of shopping and food stores along the street. Some shops also offer tax refund documentation service for your convenience. A good outing place for the day 💕

I was unfortunately visiting after a family bereavement so my opinion is probably not as positive as others would be. It's large, overwhelming at times, and is very popular. I had no real access to peace and tranquility due to the large crowds and tours operating. Like all cathedrals it begs for money constantly and is vulgar in the way it spends on making itself look attractive.

This is a totally astonishing building. It’s Bill Tower is located separate to the cathedral in this massive square, one of the largest in Europe. The church itself is a massive space. It has the most glorious windows and wonderful atmosphere. It is free to visitand there is a ticketed illuminations presentation. This presentation also has the option of a live choir, providing the music.

Nice Cathedrale in a gothic style. There is a nice big square with restaurant and caffe to enjoy a break in a nuce sunny day.

An amazing "drawbridge" that the whole middle section of the bridge goes up and down when ships come into port. Very cool experience to see the bridge rise and fall before and after the ship has translated.

Great for an evening run or bike. This is europes the longest span vertical lift bridge. We were lucky to see the vertical lift during our stay in Bordeaux. There was a cruise « seven seas voyager » and we caught this during the cruises departure from Bordeaux. Also you can get a good look at this bridge while taking a river cruise.

Impressing architecture of a bridge (surely built to let cruise liners pass). For pedestrians there are some spaces to sit and take photos of the pylons or the view from the bridge. Offeres nice views to Cite du Vin, to Pont d'Aquitaine, and to the city of Bordeaux. Reachable by tramway or by walk along the river Garonne. Walking along the riverside vis-à-vis Bordeaux city centre leads you through former harbour areas that have been turned into parks and leisure areas (including the Botanical Garden).

This bridge is HUGE! I was wondering what those four pillars are while I was still far away but then realized that its a bridge. I've yet to see this one in action like when theres a boat crossing and the bridge will lift 'the road. There is also a possibility to go up. However, I think you need special permit for that. There were a few people- I think its their field trip, that went to the top. I tried to go with them but was not allowed to.

Impressive bridge, great walk/cycle access with plenty of room for both pedestrians and bikes. Popular with the locals that forms part of a running loop around the river. Nice view back over the city.

This is one of Bordeaux’s most historic landmarks commissioned by Napoleon and finished after his death. It is beautiful day or night and lovely to walk across as the tide rushes in or out. The 17 arches are for the the letters in Napoleon’s full name. It’s popular with runners because the traffic is limited.

This bridge caught my attention while i was walking near the river. It looked really nice. Its a long walk but i get to enjoy the view and the people who were there as well. You can also see the current's strength of the river and it looks very scary. Viewed from a distance, the autumn leaves adds more beauty especially if seen from an angle.

18 arches, Le pont de pierre is lit up at night and ferries trams, scooters and pedestrians throughout the day. But not cars! A busy road, it will take you over to la bastide where you can visit Darwin Ecosystem and other neighbourhoods in bordeaux

The Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux is a stunning building with impressive architecture and rich history. The details inside are truly breathtaking, and it’s definitely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates classical design. However, we were disappointed that access was very limited—we could only see a small part of the theater instead of exploring more of the beautiful spaces. Still, it’s a must-see landmark in Bordeaux, and if you can catch a performance, it’s probably even better!

I took a visit, not an opera performance. The architecture of the building is very interesting and beautiful but the experience was not that pleasant. The guide was late, I had to follow him during all the time (I prefer to take my time to enjoy the place). Even other guide come tell him that we can't stay there in that moment...

For me it was the best architectural monument to see in Bordeaux... Highly recommended to buy advance tickets if you want to enter inside. Obviously for me the best view was at night when all the lights were lit up.

A mini Paris opera house . I had a very swell priced box seat for a ballet . Highly recommend. Also there is only one bar so you are not going to get a drink unless you pre reserve it at the beginning !!

We were extremely lucky to have the chance to take part on a tour inside this beautiful building - it is opened for visitors for only two days every year. The concert hall is a gem (though the seats are not from the most comfortable ones), and there is a great view from the balcony.

I like the view and sculptures better from the north side. The horses’ hooves and tails are something to behold. I can also tell it is a well known meet up spot for tours and such. South from here is a nice walk around old town. This fountain is a good starting point for a stroll around Bordeaux and is most likely its most well known landmark!

This was a must see on our trip to Bordeaux and we went early in the morning to avoid the issues of clashing with the fair which is running in the square. Beautiful fountain sculptures and each side shows something different. A must see for culture lovers in Bordeaux!

NICE MONUMENT, SHAME THERE'S NO WATER Ordinarily, this Monument has a running fountain, but for some reason they've turned it off, which is a shame. But beautiful carved statues and it makes for some nice images. Currently, there's a large fairground on the grounds, which is worth checking out if you want something to do at night in Bordeaux.

Beautiful park, quite spacious. A culture shock for me was people in bathing suits 👙 on the lawn sunbathing! (As a South African) At first I thought "there has to be a swimming pool in this park with so many people in bathing suits" turn out no 😄😄

The most beautiful public park and botanical garden, all for free! It was so breathtaking to explore this large park and see so many people lounging in the grass or playing with kids. We even saw a group of like 50 people dancing in couples to lively old-schooled music! The dogs were all so behaved and friendly as well. And there’s so much shade that you can get a break from having too much sun. There’s a little river and bridges that go over that are so fun to watch the huge fish and ducks swim in! Highly recommend for a safe outdoors experience to get your steps in.

Peaceful and beautiful park in Bordeaux. Enjoyed the scenery and time away from the hustle and bustle. It was a perfect place for an early morning walk over bridges and on the paths through the flowers and trees.

This park is a gem in the neighbourhood of Saint Seurin and Fondaudege. It's spacious, beautifully maintained and with a gorgeous mix of flora. Great to grab something to east or drink and enjoy it while at the park.

Beautiful garden in Bordeaux with lots of places to sit or lie down in the sunshine! There is also a kids play area and a nice pond area with lots of birds and fish to watch.

We took bikes into the park. It was beautiful and full of life. From the visitors, locals walking their dogs, enjoying the sunshine to many people relaxing on the grass. The gardens were well looked after with geese in the ponds and a boat ride if you were interested.

A beautiful bell tower and gate from the old city wall of Bordeaux. The bell is seldom used now but the tower and the gate remain. A great place to visit.

Such a lovely surprise in the middle of Bordeaux! The Grosse Cloche is a beautiful old bell tower that looks like it came straight out of a fairytale. You can’t go inside most of the time, but even just seeing it from the street is magical. It’s not a big attraction — more of a “wow, look at that!” moment during a walk through the old town. Totally worth stopping for a photo and soaking up the history. There are cute little cafés around too, so it’s a great place for a coffee break.

It was a lovely medieval style clock and was very central location in the old town of Bordeaux. I love history and it was nice to see history in person. I would consider it a must to at least see the clock in a visit to Bordeaux, France.

This was our best port so far. Right in the heart of the city. Amazing architecture/history, great shopping, lots of great attractions in easy walking distance. Lots of open spaces and so many casual places to get food and a drink. As the grape/ growing region of the Garonne Valley was so close to the port/ 50 minutes away by bus, we ventured to the village of Saint Emillion, it was beautiful. Our whole experience was excellent.

We found Port Cailhau at dusk after a lovely day at the northern end of the city. We travelled by tram to the Cité du Vin museum, visited the food market to the left before AND afterthe museum (great food) then walked down to Les Hangars where we took a river taxi to Stalingrad. We walked across the bridge as the sun set and found Port Cailhau on the other side. Lovely end to a lovely day.

It’s a really nice to visit this medieval monument. It’s 4 floors , the stairs are small and give a medieval feeling and the AI presentations are really interactive. Totally worth it if you wanna see Bordeaux from high and learn some history about the region

Astonishing view of the city! The 233 stairs are totally worth it, you get to see the main monuments of Bordeaux. There are two viewpoints and in the first one you can see the bell. We went on a cloudy day but it's still amazing. I recommend to buy they tickets in advance

Great view, not too many people. Little to no information on the top, there is a handout in different languages available at the bottom of the stairs. Staff was friendly, ticket was booked online (for a certain time frame). We came because it was included in the bordeaux pass and would recommend it if you want to have a view over the city

Stunning views from the top. The climb is quite an effort at over 200 steps, but if you can manage it, it's so worth it. Just fantastic.

Fantastic museum traces the history and archeology of Bordeaux and greater Aquitaine. Many moments of wonder from pre-historic times to the 20th century. Very well done exhibits with translations in English throughout. We spent about 2 hours. Many cafes in the area, tram stops right out front.

Beautiful museum, absolutely stunning filled with history of the region before bc and after bc. From paintings and sculptures to cars and items from the 1960s onwards.

Lots of 5-3000 BC artifacts of Aquitaine. Expect more of Bordeaux history with the rebuilding of the city in the mid 18th century. Lots of stuff on the slave trade and France’s part in it. Found this interesting esp given the juxtaposition of what’s happening with the current USA administration and revisionist history.

Wonderful museum. Objects are the stars and are displayed in a way that doesn't overwhelm even though the galleries are full. There's plenty of label information at different levels and a variety of other intrepretation methods from maps, models, images and films. Each gallery has a hands on table for sensory experiences and information. There's lots to see and even a brief wander through the galleries will take 1-2 hours. There are excellent galleries dealing with the slave trade, new settlers and modern Bordeaux and environmental sustainability The special exhibition on post war France 1945-54 was a terrific insight into the social, cultural and economic development of the country. There's a bag search at the entrance hall and lockers for them (token from reception). The shop is modest, situated at the entrance/exit. There's no cafe/restaurant, just a vending machine in a hallway, with a few tables and chairs. The toilet is unisex with about 6 cubicles.
