Cathedral
Catholic church
Saint-André Cathedral in Bordeaux, a towering Romanesque cathedral dating back to the 11th century, may not be as grand in size as some of France's famous cathedrals, but it holds a unique and unexpected charm. Steeped in history, it was consecrated by Pope Urban II and has witnessed significant events such as the weddings of historical figures like Eleanor of Aquitaine and Louis VII.
Absolutely stunning cathedral in the heart of Bordeaux. The Gothic architecture is breathtaking, and the interior is peaceful and majestic. Make sure to visit the nearby Tour Pey-Berland for incredible views of the city. A must-see if you’re in Bordeaux!
Jean N — Google review
I was unfortunately visiting after a family bereavement so my opinion is probably not as positive as others would be. It's large, overwhelming at times, and is very popular. I had no real access to peace and tranquility due to the large crowds and tours operating. Like all cathedrals it begs for money constantly and is vulgar in the way it spends on making itself look attractive.
Philip B — Google review
This is a totally astonishing building. It’s Bill Tower is located separate to the cathedral in this massive square, one of the largest in Europe. The church itself is a massive space. It has the most glorious windows and wonderful atmosphere. It is free to visitand there is a ticketed illuminations presentation. This presentation also has the option of a live choir, providing the music.

The Cathedral of Saint-André de Bordeaux, formally known as the Cathedral of Saint-André, is a historic and magnificent Catholic cathedral in Bordeaux, France. It serves as the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bordeaux. Renowned for its soaring Gothic spire, exquisite carvings, and rich historical legacy, it stands as one of the defining landmarks of Bordeaux's old town. Originally a Romanesque structure, only one wall of the nave remains from the original Romanesque architecture. The majority of the existing structure is Gothic. The famous “Royal Portal” (Porte Royale), built in the early 13th century, is a masterpiece of early Gothic style. The remainder of the cathedral was primarily constructed between the 14th and 15th centuries. Consecrated by Pope Urban II in 1096, it serves as a major stop along the Tour route—one of the four traditional French pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. It is listed as part of the “French Routes of Santiago de Compostela” UNESCO World Heritage site. Attending a Mass here offers an atmosphere rich with spiritual resonance. On weekends, the square outside the church hosts various small markets, which are also worth exploring.
David L — Google review
The colossal church which stood since the 9th century, is grand and magnificent to behold. The spectacular height and intricate architecture is breathtaking. Inside the church, there are many artworks and depictions of god and the religion. Please visit this place when in Bordeaux
Ken A — Google review
Exceptional! The treasury room is a mere €2 and has some incredible historic religious artifacts. The bell tower (which stands alone) is €9 and if you decide to climb the 200+ steps you'll enjoy a panorama of Bordeaux. The cathedral itself is free entry.
Alan F — Google review
Beautiful cathedral which is free to enter. Busy inside but it's still calm and peaceful. I recommend to visit this place.
Matt- F — Google review
Cathédrale Saint-André is absolutely stunning! The architecture is gorgeous, with so much detail to admire inside and out. Stepping inside feels so peaceful and full of history, and the stained-glass windows are simply beautiful when the light shines through. It’s definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area!

Basilica
Church
Basilique Saint-Michel, located in Bordeaux's Saint Michel district, is a stunning Gothic basilica dating back to the 14th century. This architectural marvel features an impressive 114-meter tower that offers panoramic views of Bordeaux. The basilica boasts intricate details such as stained-glass windows and ornate carvings, making it a captivating site for visitors.
Amazing stained glass much of which is from around the 50s, so looks almost like if Picasso designed them. A beautiful church although the bell tower was under reconstruction when we visited, but the windows alone were worth the visit. Also the red and white tiles floor was very interesting. Certainly a place to visit while walking around Bordeaux, and very close to the Marche des Capucins.
Jason P — Google review
A beautiful church to visit, although the separate bell tower was under reconstruction when we were there. There’s some amazing stained glass, much of it appears new after the church was bombed in the war.. Certainly a place to visit while walking around Bordeaux and make sure you put a couple of Euros in the box for the organ repairs
Julian D — Google review
Wonderful work in progress to restore/recreate this Basilica still bearing the marks of WW2 (and more than a bit of neglect I suspect). Its inherent character combined with the interpretive narrative literally built into its recreation this has every chance of becoming one of the magnificent churches of Europe. It’s lovely and evocative above its historic and spiritual echos one can imagine a remarkable rebirth that appears in progress.
Nom G — Google review
I recently visited St. Michel Basilica during a few days spent in Bordeaux. it was constructed between the 14th-16th-centuries and is Flamboyant Gothic in architectural style and began being recognised as a minor basilica in 1903. As you enter you will find multiple language information cards pointing out some general information about the church history, bell tower and a few highlights inside to look for during your visit. The interior is atypical of French Gothic churches with a narrow nave with hight ceiling, vaulted ribs and side aisles lined with smaller chapels. It is less decorative compared to churches like St. Andrea at Place Pey-Berland but still makes for a nice visit for those who like seeing old churches. I enjoyed some of the fine altarpieces and the stained-glass windows in particular. There is a chapel presently being used to host panels and general information about La Fleche which is nice since the bell tower is presently unavailable for visitation.
Brad — Google review
On 21.09.25, I had the chance to visit Basilique Saint-Michel on a day when monuments were open free to the public — a rare treat. Entering the towering Gothic church, I was struck by the light filtering through beautiful vitrages. I had a chance to see one of the medieval alabaster relief panels from the famous 15th-century altarpiece: part of the “Joys of the Virgin” set, recently restored and returned to its place. It felt powerful to be standing before something so fragile, historic and beautiful.
Natalia B — Google review
Very impressive tower next to the basilica, but separate from it. Currently under renovation. An important site for those doing a pilgrimage along the Camino/Chemin from Paris to Santiago in Spain. This pilgrimage walking route is one of the four principal ones in France, which all converge at the small French village of St Jean Pied-de-Port, at the foot of the Pyrenees.
Gordon S — Google review
There is so many beautiful churches in Bordeaux, here's another. Very impessive in all respects. The organ was being played during my visit and the sound was awsome!
Alan F — Google review
This is the most incredible building. I have never seen something so beautiful and majestic, created by people. You can feel the energy, and it filled my heart with love. It brought tears to my eyes. If you are lucky enough to hear the organ play and the choir sing, you will see that this building also has the most magical acoustics I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.

Basilique Saint-Seurin, a Roman Catholic basilica dating back to the 11th century, is a significant site in Bordeaux's history. It houses a crypt with marble sarcophagi and stands on the grounds of an ancient necropolis from the 4th century. Recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage site in the Routes of Santiago de Compostela category, it is considered the birthplace of Christianity in Bordeaux.
Beautiful basilica. One of the oldest churches in Bordeaux. It was started in the 100's. The 100's!! Crazy old place. Be sure to check out the crypt. Not as big and fancy as some of the other places, but still very very cool.
Dave T — Google review
Really liked the camino de Santiago de Compostela reference. Magnificent building. Really felt inspired going here.
Malcolm L — Google review
The exterior is interesting but not stunning. However, the interior is quite the show. The very clear Romanesque styling of the ribbed vaults are well worth seeing as is the underground crypt.

Pretty cool stop, with walking by. Nice area to rest in the small park next to it. Grab a pastry across the street of course. There’s a small crypt you can visit for €5 a person, about double the cost it should be- but still interesting.

Cité du Vin is a cutting-edge wine museum housed in a striking curved aluminum and glass structure in Bordeaux. It offers interactive displays, guided tours, and tastings to educate visitors about the history and production of wine globally. The museum's modern design reflects the swirling motion of both the adjacent Garonne River and wine in a glass. With themed routes and multimedia exhibits, it explores wine's impact on history, geography, culture, and civilization.
Extremely well done - highly informative and interactive, incorporating all of the senses! You can learn as little or as much as you'd like, but one can easily spend a few hours here. The tasting (with 13 different wines from which to choose) on the top floor with beautiful views was icing on the cake on a beautiful summer's day. There is non-alcoholic options as well! Very well air-conditioned, so going in the heat of the afternoon during the heat dome was a huge relief as well! This is a must-visit while in Bordeaux, even if you don't like wine.
E H — Google review
Hard to fault this place. I visited around 6 years ago and it’s only got better. A comprehensive tale of world wine history. A good tasting on the 8th floor featuring international wines. I tried a Swiss wine that was new to me. There are lockers to hold bags as you wander. Excellent easy to use audio guide. A good Bodega. Prices are not crazy they cater for all tastes.
Craig T — Google review
La Cité du Vin is an absolute must-visit in Bordeaux — more than a museum, it’s a full sensory journey into the world of wine. The interactive exhibits are beautifully designed, combining history, culture, and tasting experiences in a modern, engaging way. You can easily spend hours exploring and still discover something new. The architecture itself is stunning, with its flowing, glassy curves reflecting the Garonne. Don’t miss the panoramic tasting room at the top — the view is spectacular. A brilliant tribute to wine culture, innovation, and pleasure.
Natalia B — Google review
LOVED this amazing museum!! It had the most immersive experience including aroma generator technology that I did not know existed. You can smell the aromas of a myriad of scents that are produced from wines, cognac, liquors, and champagne. And the production, service, and industry is covered at great detail. Fun for everyone of all ages. And the ticket provides for two samples on the 8th floor with spectacular views! The restaurant food is excellent, with both vegetarian and meat, seafood offerings. The desserts are amazing! Love the model and the story behind this innovative museum created from a competition around 2010.
Shafi K — Google review
Cité du Vin wine museum offers a fascinating journey through the history and culture of winemaking. The exhibits are well-curated, blending tradition with interactive displays. It’s the perfect place for wine enthusiast. After the exhibits, you can go to the 8th floor to enjoy a panoramic view of the Garonne river in Bordeaux while tasting your favourite wine.
Yash V — Google review
Highly recommended to visit! They share wine knowledge in a fun and interactive way. You can easily spend 2–3 hours there without even noticing the time. A super interesting place if you love wine! We went on a Monday, and it was still fairly busy. Probably best to avoid weekends!
HYE S — Google review
For wine lovers, this museum experience is A+++, even for those who know most about wine. What impressed me the most about this museum outside of its design was the amount of information available if you were interested. The history of wine making around the world, highlighting unique wine making regions of the world, then ending off with a few glasses of unique wines all made for a great experience.
Kyle L — Google review
I actually preferred the Musée du Vin et du Négoce de Bordeaux. It was more historic and personable The exhits here are lots of quite lengthy videos. Would take hours to see everything and I am not sure it would keep someone's attention

The Opéra National de Bordeaux - Grand-Théâtre is a stunning neoclassical building with a facade dating back to 1780. It serves as a venue for operas, dance performances, and music concerts. The theater is an essential part of Bordeaux's cultural scene and boasts an impressive permanent staff including musicians, dancers, and singers. With its grand architecture and diverse range of performances throughout the year, it remains one of the most popular attractions in the city.
This is a wonderful old Theatre built in the late 1700s. The outside architecture is like the Parthenon. The interior of the theater is beautifully appointed and richly decorated. It has fought years within the auditorium. It is shaped like a horseshoe in front of the stage, and we were fortunate enough to buy tickets to see the ballet. A wonderful experience with a brilliant troop of dancers. There are guided tours available to book and I highly recommend visiting this beautiful building.
G M — Google review
The Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux is a stunning building with impressive architecture and rich history. The details inside are truly breathtaking, and it’s definitely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates classical design. However, we were disappointed that access was very limited—we could only see a small part of the theater instead of exploring more of the beautiful spaces. Still, it’s a must-see landmark in Bordeaux, and if you can catch a performance, it’s probably even better!
Marietta T — Google review
I took a visit, not an opera performance. The architecture of the building is very interesting and beautiful but the experience was not that pleasant. The guide was late, I had to follow him during all the time (I prefer to take my time to enjoy the place). Even other guide come tell him that we can't stay there in that moment...
Luis Q — Google review
For me it was the best architectural monument to see in Bordeaux... Highly recommended to buy advance tickets if you want to enter inside. Obviously for me the best view was at night when all the lights were lit up.

A mini Paris opera house . I had a very swell priced box seat for a ballet . Highly recommend. Also there is only one bar so you are not going to get a drink unless you pre reserve it at the beginning !!

Huge building with pillared facade, very impressive, making a statement to Bordeaux whealth. Situated in a square surrounded by cafes

We were extremely lucky to have the chance to take part on a tour inside this beautiful building - it is opened for visitors for only two days every year. The concert hall is a gem (though the seats are not from the most comfortable ones), and there is a great view from the balcony.

The heavily decorated, Jesuit-style church contains religious art and intricately carved stonework. The Dominicans built the church in 1707 after being forced out of their former convent and church by King Louis XIV. After the French Revolution, the church lost its title of Saint Dominics and became known as The Temple of Reason and the Supreme Being.
Really lovely church. Very moving and inspiring space
Malcolm L — Google review
We enjoyed seeing the Church of Notre Dame within the Golden Triangle. Originally a Dominican Monastery (13th century) what you find now is a Romanesque and Baroque style church building mostly constructed during the 17th and 18th centuries. The facade is elaborate Baroque taking after the Church of Gesu in Rome. Within there is a wide nave with barrel ceiling and vaults. Fine murals can bee seen behind the altar and side aisle chapels. There are also nice stained glass windows throughout.
Brad — Google review
I recently had the opportunity to attend a mesmerizing piano recital at a charming French church, and the entire experience left an indelible impression on me. Not only did I have the pleasure of witnessing a stunning musical performance, but the acoustics of the church also played an integral role in enhancing the overall auditory experience. Nestled in the heart of Bordeaux, the church exuded an aura of timelessness and elegance. Its stone exterior and intricate architectural details were a testament to its rich history. Stepping inside, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the interior. The high vaulted ceilings, adorned with ornate paintings and delicate frescoes, created a sense of awe and reverence.

Pey Berland Tower is a 15th-century Gothic bell tower located in the historic neighborhood of Pey-Berland, near the Cathedrale Saint-Andre. Visitors can climb 233 spiral stairs to reach the top and enjoy panoramic views of Bordeaux. The area surrounding the tower is rich in history and culture, with nearby museums like Musee d'Aquitaine and Musee des Beaux-Arts, as well as charming cafes, boutiques, and art galleries.
Reaching the top of Tour is no easy feat, but the panoramic views of the city are breathtaking. The narrow stairs and passages add to the challenge, but it's well worth the effort. A must-visit for anyone looking to experience in center of Bordeaux.

Nice climb, gets you in shape ! (And a possible break about halfway in) The view at the top is more than worth it though ! Absolutely stunning sights of bordeaux, and great signs and historical explanations. Friendly staff. I'd recommend to anyone, from anywhere, and especially people from Bordeaux such as me who have never actually gone up !

Astonishing view of the city! The 233 stairs are totally worth it, you get to see the main monuments of Bordeaux. There are two viewpoints and in the first one you can see the bell. We went on a cloudy day but it's still amazing. I recommend to buy they tickets in advance
Josue M — Google review
Great view, not too many people. Little to no information on the top, there is a handout in different languages available at the bottom of the stairs. Staff was friendly, ticket was booked online (for a certain time frame). We came because it was included in the bordeaux pass and would recommend it if you want to have a view over the city

The Pey Berland Tower in Bordeaux offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the cityscape that is truly worth the climb. The ascent provides a unique perspective on Bordeaux's architectural beauty and surrounding landscapes. However, it's worth noting that the stairway leading to the top is quite narrow, which may pose a challenge for those less comfortable with confined spaces. Despite the narrow stairs, the unparalleled views from the tower make the experience memorable and offer a fascinating glimpse into the historical and contemporary charm of Bordeaux.

Église Sainte-Croix de Bordeaux is a remarkable Romanesque Catholic church and former abbey that boasts an 18th-century pipe organ. Situated in a neighborhood that evolved around the site of a large monastery constructed in the late 10th century, it has witnessed significant transformations over time. The western facade of the church stands as a testament to the zenith of a Benedictine monastery founded near the muddy banks of the Garonne.
This is one of the two most impressive churches in Bordeaux. I like the way that the building is preserved with layers of time kept on the facades, creating a sense of a unique and attractive church in its own way. Unfortunately, when I visited, the square in front of the church was fenced for archaeology, and the church was not open, so I couldn't experience the space inside.
Hung K — Google review
It was closed the day I went but the face side look good and there is a garden behind. I'll go another time to check how it is inside.
Luis Q — Google review
Such a beautiful church. Very impressive both outside an in. Sadly it has serious issues with dampness/humidity and the signs of decay are all to apparent. For all that, it is still a magnificent building and well worth visiting. A more obvious donation point would do no harm.

Beautiful church! The interiors are excellent and divine feelings
Venkatesan D — Google review
We walked by several times and the place was closed. But this time the doors are open we had the opportunity to go inside and see the interior of the church. It’s built in the 1700s and was renovated a few times. It has a statue of St. George on the façade and upper left side. If you are a church fan, this would be a place to come with me however there’s no sign in the door let you know when the doors are open. This one is a lot construction going on just on the outside so it makes it a little bit not so sexy there. There’s a little square nearby couple restaurants you can have a drink a little snack or two enjoy yourself.

Eglise Notre-Dame de Salut, located near the InterContinental Bordeaux le Grand Hotel, is a picturesque spot in Bordeaux. This baroque and Romanesque-style church features colorful columns that are a feast for the eyes. It is described as a beautiful parish with an active community. Visitors find it to be a simple yet peaceful place of worship, conducive to meditation and soulful prayer.

When visiting Bordeaux, one of the must-see spots is the Place de la Bourse. This iconic 18th-century city square is surrounded by elegant architecture and features a grand fountain at its center. The Palais de la Bourse, with its Neoclassical-style facade adorned with columns and sculptures, is a notable building to explore.
Kind an artificial pool with bunch of kids running around. Unusual and nice place - at least to see and experience this. When it gets quieter you can make amazing photos with buildings around and this part of flat water pool. Results are amazing
Kamil N — Google review
The 'water mirror' opposite of the bourse buildings is awesome! Such an excellent idea! This artist may get followers and copy cats all over the globe. The water is refreshing, makes the public happy and relaxed, allows kids to enjoy a city visit and provides poor citizens with a place where they can mingle with everyone else in a relaxed way. It also gives enough water for great flowers and the gardens/park pieces next to the water mirror. And, when quiet, the reflection doubles the grandeur of the bourse buildings. Best place of Bordeaux in my opinion.
Christy D — Google review
How to get amazing capture is wait for the water coming out and cover the ground, than here you go into the pool, when take a photo, you will see the whole town reflecting in the background.

The Musée du Vin et du Négoce de Bordeaux, located in the heart of the city's historic wine quarter, offers a fascinating journey through 2000 years of wine production. Housed in a former merchant's house, this museum showcases old equipment alongside new technology to illustrate the winemaking process. Visitors can explore three charming vaulted cellars filled with artifacts that tell the story of Bordeaux's great merchant families and the history of winemaking in the region.
Hidden gem in Bordeaux — charming, informative, and great wine tasting! We really enjoyed our visit to the Musée du Vin et du Négoce. It’s a smaller, more intimate museum compared to La Cité du Vin, but just as fascinating in its own way — especially if you’re curious about the history of Bordeaux wine trade. There’s a choice between an audio guide or a well-written printed guide that’s actually quite detailed and gives you a lot of context as you walk through the vaulted cellars. There are also some short videos, including one that shows how wine barrels are made — very interesting to watch! The visit ends with a wine tasting, which was both enjoyable and informative. The staff were friendly and happy to explain the wines, which added a personal touch. There’s also a lovely little gift shop with a good selection of local wines and wine-themed items — perfect if you want to take something home. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Bordeaux and want a deeper understanding of the region’s wine heritage!
Irina B — Google review
Nice little place to learn more about regional wine and history of the trade. It is self guided with an audio option (although they suggested the audio didn't work well and to rely more on the booklet). It did also include a wine tasting - there were five or six bottles in front of the presenter, but we only tasted two wines (so feel free to drink the whole pour and think you will be tasting 5+ wines!). The tasting was a good presentation and they also gave a small handful of chocolate to show you how food and wine pairing is critical and how it greatly alters the flavours.
E H — Google review
It's the perfect complement to the other wine museum down the street. My favorite was the barrel making video. I watched it several times. The gift shop is really nice. And our tasting after the self guided tour was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable. I wish we stayed there longer and did a full tasting.
John A — Google review
What a little gem. So much to like about it. It is small and self guided but done extremely well with an option to listen to audio on your phone or have a printed version. All of the artifacts are explained and they give you excellent timelines and history. And you are actually in the seller of someone who used to be a wine trader. You also get a little wine tasting with it, which is a nice little Plus. Highly recommend.
Diana H — Google review
Must come to visit. The museum tour is simple. But I enjoyed the tour with wine explanation and wine tasting at the end. Good to buy the one day city tour pass from Tourism board in town.

Museums
The Bordeaux Museum of Fine Arts, also known as Musee des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, is an elegant art museum housing a vast collection of classical art spanning from the Renaissance to the 19th century. Situated near religious monuments and the Quartier Saint Michel district, this museum was founded in 1801 and boasts a permanent collection featuring masterpieces of European painting from the 15th to the 20th century.
For museum and art lovers, the visit to the MusBA is definitely worth it. We visited the museum with our children and we ended up spending more than two hours, without even going to the temporary exhibition at the gallery across the street. The visit is quite interesting with lots of art pieces categorised in different time periods. The most interesting part for us was the modern part with paintings by Picasso, Matisse and Delacroix. The museum is also included in the Bordeaux City Pass.
Iason S — Google review
Frankly speaking, I’ve visited art museums in every city I’ve traveled to. This one is not the worst, but it’s definitely below average. First, although the museum doesn’t have many masterpieces, they do have some unique paintings that you won’t find in other art museums. Unfortunately, these are not displayed well for visitors to appreciate. Second, they hang many paintings one above another, and some are placed too close to the lights, making it hard to see them properly from any angle. Third, even though they don’t have many masterpieces, they still keep some valuable paintings, like Odilon Redon’s Apollo’s Chariot, in storage. It makes me wonder if they even care whether people visit the museum or not.
· M — Google review
The Museum is a cultural gem, featuring a diverse collection of paintings and sculptures. While it's smaller than expected, the artworks are impressive and well curated. More exhibit info would be nice, but it's still worth a visit, especially for fans of European art.
Filipe S — Google review
Great museum, a lot of beautiful paintings and sculptures for just 8 EUR. You can attend three halls.
Dmitry M — Google review
The museum had some very nice works but it was disappointing that most descriptions were only in French. There was also terrible lighting throughout the museum that created a glare on the paintings and made it especially difficult to see some of the older paintings from any angle. I wish the museum was more thoughtful about including English descriptions and appropriate lighting. But the art was nice enough that it was still worth the visit. The garden was very beautiful as well.

Located in the heart of Old Bordeaux, Église Saint-Pierre is a stunning example of Gothic architecture from the 15th century. The church features intricate stained glass windows and a richly detailed facade that showcases flamboyant Gothic design elements. Its asymmetrical single square bell tower adds to its charm. Inside, visitors can admire the colorful stained glass that illuminates important chapels and the high altar, while the tranquil nave with two aisles exudes a peaceful ambiance.
This is a beautiful church set in a lovely orchard. It has wonderful Stainglass windows and beautiful. Got the architecture. It is quite dark inside, but the sanctuary is well lit and provides a focal point to this beautiful space. The Stainglass windows are wonderful and well worth visitingto see.
G M — Google review
I enjoyed visiting during a recent stay in the city. It is located at Place St. Pierre making it convenient to visit while sightseeing around the historic city centre. While the churches history dates to an earlier period, what you see today is a building from the 15th-century that is Gothic is architectural design. I found the facade to be quite beautiful. Within the vaulted nave and side aisles with high ceiling, chapels with delicate sculptures were all worth seeing. Behind the altar is a fine series of stained-glass windows as well. It made for a nice 10-15 minute walk through while sightseeing in the area.

A historic and a peaceful church in Saint Peter's Square, Bordeaux. I love the stunning and flamboyant Gothic style portal. Its history traced back to the XIV and XV century with its location being in the old Gallo-Roman port. Inside is rather dark but gives the atmosphere of total silence and sobering ambience. The stained-glass windows give amble light to give a magnificent glow to important chapels and the high altar. A magnificent organ gallery and a tranquil nave with two aisles. It's worth a look and again with great respect when visiting inside.

Beautiful St. Peter's Church with exceptional gothic architecture. This square is full of nice restaurants to take a break and enjoy some French wine and food. It is within walking distance of major attractions in the old city center of Bordeaux. This square leads you to different directions of the city via intertwining cobbled stone lanes that takes you back in time. The church is one of the oldest in the city and dates back to 14th century when it was close to the Gallo Roman port and was a main pilgrimage stop for a large population.

This of course the very first Baroque Church built in Bordeaux, completed in 1620! What's really intriguing is how the inside completely different from the outside. Église Saint-Louis des Chartrons is a grand 19th-century Catholic church located in the charming Chartrons district of Bordeaux. This gothic revival church boasts impressive neo-Gothic architecture, with towers reaching 58 meters high that are visible from various parts of the city. The interior features a stunning collection of stained-glass windows, a beautiful nave, and an exceptional organ listed as a French monument.
This is a wonderful neo, Gothic church with beautiful spacious interior, lovely, vaulted ceiling, beautiful lead light windows, and a lovely altar and sanctuary area. He looked by the main cathedral in the Square, but for those who enjoy the Neo Gothic style of architecture, this is truly worth visiting

Encountered this late 19th-century church along Rue Notre Dame in the Chartrons district during a recent visit Bordeaux. Designed by architect Pierre Charles Brun between 1874-1880, the church is of Neo-Gothic architecture which you will see demonstrated in the exterior facade as well as the church interior. The church towers are considered the tallest in the city. I enjoyed seeing the inside of the church as well. Based on a latin cross layout, the tall and narrow nave with rib vault ceiling is attractive, side aisles have nice bays and there are nice stain-glass windows to view as you walk around the inside of the St. Louis.

Very beautiful inside. The aesthetic design is preserved just like most of Catholic Churches. Its also quite spacious inside and statues of Jesus and the Saints are seen. Outside, you can see the spires from the distance and this actually got my attention as soon as I stepped out the bus. The painted glass windows from the sides and the ceilings provide illumination which I think brings enough sunlight that adds solemnity of the place.

NICE FROM THE OUTSIDE, CREEPY ON THE INSIDE The church appears to be very pretty on the outside, and you can see that they made this beautiful to look at. The bell tower marks its presence throughout the district and the interior has a very beautiful wooden ceiling and neo-Gothic decorations. The Église Saint-Paul de Bordeaux is a beautiful and historic Catholic church in the city of Bordeaux, France. The facade is decorated with Corinthian pilasters on the lower level and a triangular pediment on the upper level.
Beautiful church with daily masses. The songs during the mass are sung a capella by the Dominican friars and it is an extremely beautiful ceremony.

This is a 17th-century church situated along Rue des Ayres. It was built by the Jesuits and was dedicated to St. Francis Xavier. In the 19th-century it was dedicated to St. Paul. The church has a subtle Baroque facade and decorative main alter. The modest Baroque interior is a nice change of scenery from the more traditional Gothic style churches that you may have seen while sightseeing around Bordeaux. (Translated by Google) The Church of Sainte-Eulalie in Bordeaux is one of the oldest and most emblematic temples in the city, with a rich history dating back to the Merovingian period. History and Origins According to late chronicles, the Merovingian king Dagobert (629-639) founded a female abbey at this site, dedicated to Saint Eulalia, a young virgin martyred in Spain at the beginning of the 3rd century. This monastery was burned by the Saracens in 732. Later, a legend attributes to Charlemagne the construction of a chapel in the year 811 to house the relics of seven saints martyred in Lectoure at the end of the 1st century. Architectural Evolution In the 12th century, a new Romanesque church was erected to welcome pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela, consecrated in 1174 in the presence of Henry II, king of England and duke of Guyenne. This building was later replaced by a flamboyant Gothic style construction. Over the centuries, the church has undergone various restorations and modifications, reflecting the main stylistic currents of religious architecture. Religious Importance The church is notable for being the place where Saint Louis Martin, father of Saint Teresa of Lisieux, was baptized in 1823. Inside, you can find a statue of Saint Teresa and a reliquary donated by her sisters in 1935, as well as a stained glass window depicting Saint Louis and Saint Teresa being received by the Pope, installed in the baptistery around 1925.

(Translated by Google) Sainte-Eulalie Church in Bordeaux Located at 13 Place Sainte-Eulalie, opposite Saint-André Hospital, Sainte-Eulalie Church is an emblematic building of Bordeaux's heritage. It occupies an important place in the historical and spiritual landscape of Bordeaux. Founded in the 12th century on an older site, probably occupied since the Merovingian period, it has undergone numerous transformations over the centuries, blending Romanesque, Gothic, and Classical styles. Dedicated to Saint Eulalia of Mérida, a young Spanish martyr from the 4th century, it bears witness to medieval Christian fervor and the religious history of the city. Sainte-Eulalie Church has been listed as a historic monument since 1908. The interior of the church surprises with its peaceful atmosphere and elegance. The main nave, lined with side chapels, leads to a choir adorned with colorful stained-glass windows, some of which date from the 19th century, which also lends it a great deal of light, enhancing the beauty of the whole and inviting contemplation. The carved wooden altarpiece of the high altar immediately catches the eye, as do the ancient statues. The carefully restored 19th-century murals and frescoes further enrich this vibrant spiritual ensemble. The bell tower, meanwhile, rises in a Gothic style, testifying to the building's later evolution over time. Its beautifully crafted organ highlights the whole, as every church has this instrument within it, recalling the essential place of music in the Christian liturgy. The building is well served by public transportation and accessible to people with reduced mobility.

We started the tour and one of the two people ordered my wife to look in front of her, told her that we weren't in a zoo in a very aggressive manner while three people from the church were working on the organ located at the back of the church. My wife was shocked, she talked to me about it all day. It's a shame because it's a beautiful church full of history and beautiful stained glass windows. Hoping to be able to revisit it without these inconveniences. This is the first time we have been verbally attacked in a church.

(Translated by Google) Magnificent paid show in this chapel that I didn't know in Bordeaux. Neither too long nor too short to enjoy this light and sound show, an incredible immersion, the children loved it. Sitting on beanbags, lying down, we set off on a unique journey. Always bring warm, inert clothes, you will quickly get cold (normal). Shooting allowed without flash so as not to disturb others (still normal). This is a temporary show, not to be missed. The Church of the Sacred Heart in Bordeaux is regarded as one of the most exquisite Catholic churches in the city. Its twin belfry towers are visible from a distance, adding to its allure. The magnificent entrance showcases a stunning stained-glass rose window that takes one's breath away. Inside, visitors are treated to an even more impressive sight, with a grandiose high altar and a beautiful gallery for the organ.
I find this one of the most beautiful churches in Bordeaux. I could see the twin belfry towers from the distance. The beautiful portal entrance with its glorious stained-glass rose window is just breathtaking! Inside is even more spectacular with stunningly stupendous high altar and a beautiful organ gallery. Like all places of worship I visited, it's always with respect and dignified manner when visiting and always when it's not in Mass unless I attent the services. Absolutely worth visiting. A trivial matter, the architect, Jean-Jules Mondet was an unsuccessful candidate for the building of Sacred Heart of Paris church!
