Unfortunately my partner doesn’t like strong cheese so this was a big no for her. Big shame. The seasonal veg, isn’t what most would class as seasonal, more like steamed/boiled standard broccoli cauliflower carrots peas swimming in a shallow pool of water in the bottom of the cup. Initial encounter was good and we ordered drinks which arrived fairly promptly. We then ordered starters and mains. We waited another 5 minutes for an answer to be told there was no steak either. Having looked at the menu again I didn’t want anything else so therefore had no choice but to leave. I then asked for a refund for the entire meal except the drinks. After a refund there still wasn’t any kind of apology for the inconvenience. Now I wouldn’t mind but this was a birthday meal and it’s dampened a good day.

Really lovely staff, the person who checked us in was really friendly and other staff who were doing tasks around the hostel were really nice too. The bottom sheet was too small for the mattress so would come off and was quite annoying. That being said, it was much better than other YHA I have stayed at so I would stay here again.
