If you're looking for authentic Chinese food in Manchester, Happy Seasons is an absolute must-visit. The flavors are exceptional, the dishes come out piping hot and perfectly cooked, and the menu offers an incredible range of traditional Cantonese specialties.
We had the roast duck and char siu—absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The seasoning was spot on, and the crispy duck skin was next level. The portion sizes are generous, and everything felt fresh and made with care.
Service was quick and efficient, even when the restaurant was packed (which it usually is—a great sign!). There's a real buzz and authenticity to the place that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a hidden gem in Hong Kong.
Highly recommend booking in advance or being prepared to queue—it's worth the wait. A true Manchester institution for anyone who loves proper Chinese food.

We came here as a group of 7 so we had to wait a while for tables (Approx 30 minutes), luckily the weather is good!
Service is extremely quick and efficient.
Food came out nice and hot all cooked to a high standard. Good flavour, decent portions and good value for money.

I came here on a Friday evening and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table - not surprising as the place is clearly popular. This is a proper Cantonese / Hong Kong style restaurant, and the no-frills interior instantly reminded me of eateries back in Hong Kong.
The food really delivered. The roast duck was spot on - crispy skin, tender meat, and a rich sauce that brought everything together. The braised beef brisket was another standout, meltingly tender and full of flavour. The salt & pepper ribs were nicely seasoned with a good crunch, but the star of the night was the stir fried rice noodle with beef. It had that smoky "wok hei" that's hard to find outside of Hong Kong - absolutely delicious.
Overall, the food here is authentic & If you're craving proper Cantonese dishes, this is definitely worth the wait in line.

Wow! This is some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had (including in Beijing, London and New York). It’s not a fancy place, but the service is fast and friendly and the food is to die for. We have visited TCB Dining in Bury multiple times, and every single visit has been a delight! The service is always impeccable, with polite and attentive staff who are never far away if you need assistance. The food is consistently delicious, packed with flavour, and arrives quickly thanks to the amazing robot servers – a brilliant touch that makes the dining experience even more exciting!
Ordering is incredibly simple – just log into the app, select your dishes, and before long, the robot arrives with your food. If you're new to the process, the staff are more than happy to guide you through it, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience.
Some of my absolute favourite dishes here include:
🔥 Salt & Pepper Ribs – full of flavour and cooked to perfection.
🍢 Chicken Satay Skewers – beautifully grilled with a rich peanut sauce.
🦐 Prawn Toast – crispy, golden, and utterly moreish.
🥟 Sui Bao & Sui Mei – delicate, fresh, and packed with authentic taste.
🍗 Salt & Pepper Chicken Balls – crunchy, spicy, and incredibly tasty!
The drinks are also worth mentioning – the alcoholic measures are generous, giving great value for money. The only small critique I have is that I requested a little wasabi for dipping, and while a staff member kindly said they would get some for me, unfortunately, they never returned to the table. It wasn’t a major issue, but a little follow-up would have been appreciated.
If there’s one thing I’d love to see in the future, it would be a wider cocktail selection. As cocktail enthusiasts, we were hoping for more variety, but currently, TCB only offers two types. Introducing more options – perhaps with a 2-for-£15 deal – would be a fantastic addition!
Overall, we absolutely love TCB Dining and will definitely be back again soon. It’s a fantastic place for amazing food, great service, and a unique dining experience. If you haven’t been yet, we highly recommend checking it out!

Previous visit: There is very little understanding of special needs though. When I booked i put in the notes we were autistic and needed a quieter table but when I got there and checked the lady was dismissive and said they didn't have quiet tables for 7 people and didn't let me explain about how to make the visit more manageable for us.
On our most recent visit it was very different. I asked for a quiet table and as the person was leading us to a table a lady behind the bar stopped her and said you want a corner table right? I said oh yes please, she then gave a different table number & we were sat in a lovely fairly quiet corner!
Really appreciated the effort to understand.
We dealt with 4 or 5 staff at least and they were all extremely nice!
The toilets are by the entrance so a bit of a trek but they are well kept.
Go at opening time! By the time we left there was not an empty table anywhere!

I've never eaten as much food in one sitting as I did here, which should say a lot. New China Cottage was fantastic and I enjoyed all aspects of it - the staff, the food, the atmosphere and decor.
The staff were welcoming, professional, polite and skilled (when serving food table side for us) and genuinely seemed to care about the quality of service.
The food was great and all elements of the lilac banquet we got, were delicious and complimented each other well. There was far too much for four people and I ended up eating the majority out of the four of us but that's not necessarily a bad thing!

We think this is the best Chinese restaurant in Bury. We use it for takeaway and to eat in. Lots of food options and all of them have been delicious. Loads of vegan and veggie options. The staff were really helpful to guide my friend through the celiac suitable options. The only niggle is that the restaurant is small and so the atmosphere can sometimes be a bit intense if there is a large party dining. But still our favourite :)

Four of us came for dinner on a Friday evening and had an amazing experience. The food was fresh, hot and delicious and arrived quickly after ordering. Booked a table here last night . When you walked in it was very cold had to leave my coat on. Hardly anyone in but could be due to after Xmas .We ate the set menu the soup was ok then the next was a share platter served on an extremely cold plate warm food. Me and my mum had a fab week day meal. My only criticism is that we felt rushed in between courses. This is our go to place when we fancy a Chinese... honestly 5 stars isn't enough. From the food, to the service and then the atmosphere - Number 8 Whitefield is faultless.
A wide varied menu leaves you spoilt for choice but in terms of starters highly recommend the Skewered Fillet Steak on Black Pepper Sauce, you won't be disappointed. We try new mains every time and always treated to a flavourful dish but again recommend the Chicken in Oyster Sauce with Mushroom and Broccoli.

This is without a doubt the BEST Chinese takeaway I have ever been to. We have been coming to Kan’s for two decades - growing up locally, this was my family’s go to takeaway for a Saturday night. Crispy chicken spring rolls - soggy with strange tasting filling, even my 5 year old (who will eat them from anywhere) spat it out. Zuga house special Mongolian sweet n spicy sauce, the odd tasting sauce which was neither one taste or another really spoiled the taste of the meats/prawns. Zuga house special sweet n sour which was at least edible but again, nothing special and crispy shredded beef which contained long chewy pieces of meat with no hint of crispness and, again, the sauce very mediocre.

The tuna was very fishy, salmon was okay but the portion size isn’t worth the price still. The salmon in the maki was tiny. The worst part was the rice, it’s very sticky, tasteless. Some of the rice in the rainbow roll was very hard, it’s like the rice at the bottom when you use a rice cooker to cook it, it shouldn’t be served to customers.
I’ve been to Japan many times, and I visited most of the sushi places in Manchester. But I’m using “YO Sushi” standard to say this is one of the worst sushi I’ve had.

Very unhappy, as this is the second time I've called and the delay was over 1.5 hours for delivery. 1st time was Feb 14th 2019.

As you will probably remember, the driver when he delivered the food forgot to give us the salt and pepper box, he apologised and said he had got the order mixed up and give it to another customer. I don’t write reviews very often but unfortunately, I must share my dismay with this business. I ordered a salt and pepper chicken pieces amongst a couple of other items and collected my order from store in person. When I returned home and opened what should have been the salt and pepper chicken pieces, I was in fact opening salt and pepper ribs. I called the store and expressed my dismay but the man on the phone stated that I could either come to store to exchange the ribs for salt and pepper chicken pieces or have a credit towards my order for next time. I explained that I would either travel back to store for an entirely new order and a refund for the chicken or a delivery driver could travel to me to do the same. The man was very rude on the phone and stated “why can you not eat the rest of the meal now and come back for the chicken” to which I explained multiple times why would anybody want to eat half a meal at a time and also drive using more petrol and more mileage. I eventually returned to store on the promise of a whole new order and full refund, however was only given a new order and was also questioned about if I had eaten any of it. They went back on their word about the refund and instead of arguing with them I thanked them and left. Please be aware that if you have eaten there tonight, you may have eaten my opened food re-served to you, not to worry though as I did not eat any of it. Needless to say I will not be eating here again and will be discouraging others to do so aswell. Treasure City in Whitefield is the best- I only couldn’t go there today as it was closed. What a shame!

Not many Chinese takeaways open on this day & the shop was packed with about 8 people - and that’s not counting the phone orders coming thru.
I hardly ever post reviews but thought I’d mention the quality of food that was served considering how busy & under pressure the place was.
I had the Garlic special- the quality of meats were restaurant standard & the garlic sauce superb.
Salt n pepper wings, chicken, ribs all a high standard and generous large curry sauce servings.
The ONLY thing I could possibly be negative about was the portion size… our family normally gets 2 nights meals out of what we order.. BUT the quality of food more than matched the prices charged.
You do indeed get what you pay for.

I placed a phone order and i clearly told the lady in the phone my order and gave her the menu reference no's, when we got the food home there was a prawn on the top of my vegetarian dish. When i phoned to complain she was very rude advised that I had ordered the meat dish instead ( if i had why was there only 1 prawn in it) i clearly hadn't odered the wrong dish, i was put on "hold" but i could clearly hear shouting in the background, eventually she agreed to deliver me the correct dish as there are no refunds!!

Had a really lovely meal with my friends from this takeaway. Was pretty busy so was happily surprised with the quick service (ordered on the phone). Just called into this Chip Shop and ordered 2×Fish & Chips to go.
I was served by a most pleasant Chinese Lady, very welcoming.
The portions were generous and well cooked at a very readonable price.
My constructive criticism is that the Fish were cooked in oil which had been used to cook either Prawns or Prawn Crackers but certainly oil not reserved for Fish to accompany chips.
The Fish was heavily tainted with this taste and as White Fish rendered inedible, sadly.

Ordered via Deliveroo and received a appetizer instead of a main, but after ringing the restaurant they very promptly sent over the right main dish, extra prawn crackers and personally apologized for the error. Thanks for going the extra mile to make things right! Chips, rice and gravy was good (apart from spring onions in the rice) but definitely the worst Chinese I’ve been to in a long time.

The Kung Po chicken was listed as hot and spicy but my partner who hates spice ate it and declared it flavourless after I pulled a face. The salt and pepper chips were soggy. I bought fish and chips for my wife and myself, on getting them home my wife tried her fish and said she thought it was not cooked. I then tried mine and was almost sick, it was raw in the middle. I rang to complain and they offered to replace it I told them I didn't want it replaced just my money back, they said ok. I drove 2 miles back to the shop and when I got there they insisted it was cooked and refused to give me any refund or replacement. The old woman in the shop was abusive and screaming at me.
