We had our first lunch at Bill's today. Was absolutely delicious 😋 I had Eggs Benedict & Chips and my partner had Steak, Eggs & Chips. The atmosphere was some comforting and homely, so much decoration to look at on the walls. We were both very satisfied with our meals and we had the most wonderful server Madison. Quick service, food was out really quickly and plates taken away quick and efficient after we'd finished eating. She checked if we needed anything twice, once before our meal and again during to make sure everything was okay, great customer service ☺️ Definitely had a great experience, will definitely return soon. Thank you 😊

A must to visit!!! Bills Southampton is amazing… from the food to the service and atmosphere all tick the boxes… will definitely be returning their Mac and cheese and corn ribs are to die for… staff are lovely and friendly and nothing is too much trouble… it was our wedding anniversary and we got a dessert on the house which was a lovely touching thing to do… we also received our meal but no drinks ( although we did have water) and when we said we were waiting for a drink they couldn’t get us ours drinks quick enough and took them off the bill which was not necessary but nice to show they appreciate their customer service.. burgers are amazing all round thoroughly enjoyed our visit and a wonderful start to our holiday

Overall, today's (August 2025) meal was good but there was room for improvement. My wife asked for her eggs to be lightly poached (runny). We both later said we noticed the waitress didn't write that down and when the dish arrived, the eggs were solid. The waitress was friendly and efficient. I disliked the 12.5% service charge, although it was optional. My burger was cooked to perfection and I liked the rosemary salted fries.

Kayleigh was very polite and courteous, prompt and efficient service by her and the team at Bills. Coconut latte was the best and I loved the vegan bacon, and the biscoff pancakes! Sam was welcoming from the moment we walked in and so friendly, with a great energy. When I asked for a smaller portion of something, Sam made this happen, thank you Sam and Kayleigh :)

Stopped for brunch and we both ordered the Bill’s Big Brunch. Unfortunately, it was the worst big brunch I have had. The egg was completely burnt on one side and the potatoes were chewy, bacon crumbled apart with a fork — not great when you’re expecting a freshly cooked, tasty breakfast. Service was great and the place has a nice atmosphere, but the food really let it down.

For the past 3 years I’ve been enjoying my visits to Bills simply because the staff are super friendly and welcoming the managers are always on top of things weather you have a booking or not you still great treated with class. The menu is absolutely mouth watering leaving you with a wide variety of options to choose from. The environment is family friendly and enjoyable. My favourite go to place

Great location and atmosphere! Perfect for a pre-cruise dinner. We were welcomed and seated warmly. At first our food wasn’t quite hot enough (yes we’re picky…and middle age, verging on old age) but the Rock Star Manager, Samuel, quickly made everything right…and then some. He has a perfect personality for his role. I hope Bill’s Restaurant and Bar recognize what a gem they have with this young man managing this restaurant.

The food is 10/10 could not fault, we had nachos ,burgers and steak with the sticky toffee puddings and cheesecake for dessert. Our waitress Michaela was really friendly and took good care of us . The price was very good for the food and service we had. We will definitely be returning:)

My daughter took me here for a birthday treat. We experienced really great quality food, friendly staff, and a very nice view to the marina despite the scaffolding which currently covers the window frontage. The butternut curry was delicious. Service was excellent and everyone was so friendly . The two for one expresso martini cocktails were a nice after dinner treat. Beautifully furnished surroundings spotlessly clean, a very pleasant environment and a great afternoon, we will definitely visit again .

Good food for an acceptable price. The place has a great view to the marina. I gave only 4-star review as the staff forgot our coffees. Otherwise it was a good place for having a lunch.

Amazing restaurant, great value for money right in the Southampton Quays. Delicious food with a wide variety of pizza and burgers and other options. The best cocktails. Fantastic customer service. Thais, our waiter, was so lovely and kind. Always attentive and asking us if we need anything else. Will definitely be returning, one of the best restaurants in Southampton!

Lovely atmosphere! The food was reasonable but could improve, in my opinion. They do have a variety of beers and cocktails and the service is quite good.

A perfect location for a date. Located by the Southampton Quay overlooking the boats. A very lush environment with an amazing view. Great for a Brunch or just a few pints and cocktails. The service is very good and very friendly staff. The food was very nice and tasteful, it was priced slightly on the higher side. However I’d expect this as it is in a prime location. A must visit restaurant if visiting Southampton.

We spent a pleasant hour here. There was quite a nice selection of beer. My wife sampled one of the cocktails. When we left around 6 pm it started to get busier. Looking forward to our next visit.

Hands down best wraps we’ve ever had! Son had a steak and chipotle one, I had the Peruvian chicken one. Both were astonishingly good, fresh, flavourful, superb. Family who sampled the scotch egg, Hampshire pasty, pork pie and sausage roll all also raved about them. Absolutely worth a detour to visit this wonderful butchers!

This butchers& cafe is definitely a gem that shouldn't be missed in Southampton brekfast butchers meats pies and cheeses are all top of the range a real delight ...I can't wait for my next visit and the smoked beef brisket roll yum yum 😋

Had a brilliant lunch at Uptons today, you could taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything was lovely, the brownies are incredible. I bought some of the southern Italian sausages and they were some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff are all really nice and attentive. Will definitely be coming back.

Uptons does fabulous food, full of flavour and cooked in front of you. We had Peruvian (marinated) Chicken Wrap and Basque Cheesecake today. Service is always good too. Definitely worth a visit.

Love the food here. Always a good selection of sausages and other things for a BBQ as well as the usual stuff. There's a sit down cafe if you fancy some breakfast (meant to be great, but yet to try), staff are always friendly and helpful. As is the way with nice things, it's not cheap so can't afford to get our food from here all the time, but definitely worth a visit when you can! 👌

This is an excellent butcher. Meat best in Southampton. But was is the best in the world (and i lived in many places and visited many countries) is their smokey sandwich. Absolutely unique! They are also lovely people, all of them! Tx for everything Simon and Hermes!

Always a pleasure to shop here with great customer service and knowledge of meats. Simon knows everything and has a great dry sense of humour. Not tried the small integrated cafe but looks good and others have said it has good ambiance.

Poached eggs were overdone originally, but staff swapped out for fresh when asked, which came out perfectly. The prawn baguette was well filled with tasty filling, but the bread was a little soft. Milkshakes were good and my father in law enjoyed his burger. Would definitely go back.

Great café. Food came out quick and was all very hot and tasty. The only downside was the waitress cleared our plates as we were still eating. She asked"are you finished" as she gathered them up "Not really" I said. She continued picking up the plates and took them away. Otherwise, the service was good, and we would go back. We went in at lunch time for coffee and a cake. But really it's more restaurant and food than coffee bar, so ended up with a panini and fries.

Went today at 4.22 and was greeted with a nice and professional server. Time I went was very quiet so was able to choose a booth for myself. Drinks order was taken within 2 minutes and was brought out w/in 3 minutes after that. Booth and general restaurant was very clean and the restaurant had a very chill atmosphere and would seem to have this causal feel regardless of if it’s full or not. Really accessible from the high street, so can take the bus if coming from home and be dropped of right outside or if coming from the high street it’s a short walk. My order: Quarter Pounder (£5.30), Onion Rings (£2.90), Apple Pie (£4.95) and Strawberry Milkshake (£3.65). Total £16.80 My drink order was taken first and soon after not even 5 mins and the rest of the food came out afterwards. Quarter Pounder: for the price it’s such a quality burger. The patty itself was juicy and not over seasoned, letting the natural flavour really shine. All burgers come with lettuce, tomato and cucumbers and I personally feel like even w/o the cheese, the burger was still really enjoyable and tasty. It was a really good size and again for the price a huge steal. Onion rings: received 9 in total and they were very nice as well. Onion flavour was not overpowering at all and tasted really great with the complimentary mayo that comes in each table. Perfect choice if you aren’t super hungry but still want to be filled. The whole meal just had the classic causal American smell and taste and nothing was greasy at all. Do think however there should be an option on the menu to have small chips come with the burger however keep extra portion of chips on the extras menu. Apple pie: comes with 3 options to have it with- whipped cream, ice cream and custard. I had it with whipped cream and when presented to me, had an instant hit of those sugary apples. Mix it with that beautiful brown pastry delicious airy whipped cream and you have another classic dessert. You cannot go wrong with an apple pie! The caramel drizzle does add another depth to the dessert- that slight sweet saltiness works well with the overall dessert. Strawberry milkshake: I mean you can’t get any more simple that this however reminds me of those childhood times. Had a little drizzle effect and it was the right consistency and portion- not too thick and not watery either. Straw was super sturdy. Fluffy, creamy and airy, everything a good milkshake should be and it was just that! There wasn’t really an item I had that let me down l, everything was prepared really well and to a high quality. Should definitely come back for breakfast, which was my initial intention but didn’t wake up early 😅. Tip for improvement: I get that I was the only customer at that time but 2 things: 1. Don’t stare at the customer to finish their food and then come straight up to them. Felt a bit awkward being watched. I get they want to have rapid service but there was more subtle ways to do so 2. Don’t rush customers out the door just because you want to close up early. There was till 20 mins left of business and one of the workers told me to basically hurry up and pay because he’s going to close the till. I was literally having to rush and drink my milkshake when I wanted to take a bit more time. It was again awkward and I get workers/servers wanting the go home early however don’t do this it’s not very professional however didn’t ruin the overall experience hence having to knock off 1 star. If Brunch & Barista just note this then there won’t be any issues. Overall: really nice place, very clean. Has that very causal bistro feel to it and can come either alone or with friends to enjoy an array of dishes from breakfast to brunch to more hearty meals. The prices are very good and whilst I didn’t expect to spend £16.80 for my complete meal it was very filling and left with a full stomach. Will be returning! Modern cafe right on Above Bar. None of that pubby coziness if that's what you want, but very extensive menu. I wish I had been hungrier! We both had paninis which were quite good and came with a salad that was more than just rocket. Lots of vegetarian options.

The retro interior of this restaurant gives you a warm welcome. They have a diverse menu, and is the perfect place to grab breakfast, lunch or brunch! The food is very reasonably priced with good proportions. We ordered "The Vegetarian One" of the full English Breakfast in the morning. It included fried egg and mushroom, charred tomato, 2 hash browns, beans, one vegetarian sausage and two buttered toasted bread. We also ordered a latte. The service was lovely so we're the staff. We left feeling full and happy.

Decor is great, service fast and friendly. Food was good, but it missed a certain something. It was cooked and well presented but just didn’t taste like anything. Very plain. I’ll try it again when I’m the area next and update review if necessary. Fine for a quick bite….

Had my birthday dinner at HarBAR on 6th and honestly couldn’t have picked a better spot! The marina views are amazing, the place has such a chilled but classy vibe, and the cocktails are spot on. Tried the Cherry Poppins with Mermaid Pink Gin and it was delicious. The tuna steak was cooked perfectly too. Great food, lovely atmosphere, and live music made the night even better. Definitely one of my favourite spots in Southampton!

Nice place to visit and take in the views of the harbour. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. The food selection is minimal, but I think that's a really positive thing. I enjoyed Fish n chips here and also tried their Tenderstem brocoli and the cheeseburger (over several nights and not in one seating!). The service was okay. Staff members are really helpful. However, I felt they were a bit overstretched at most times. In all, it is a very pleasant place to visit if you're local, but maybe spend a night or two at the Harbour hotel, and enjoy HarBAR on 6th over several nights.

They sell fine dining at a party club... Do not come here on a weekend if you are neurodivergent!! Food, view, mood lights, service very good. The noise from some other guests who were acting like they were in a basic pub was irritating and it's a shame the staff didn't ask them to behave in accordance with the price of the place. On top of this noise, there was loud house music coming from the back end of the space. The ambience of this restaurant would suggest soft jazz to eat and converse in peace not irritating house music that you can barely talk a word to your dinner partner or to the people serving the table. Half of it was classy, and the other half of it felt like being at a trashy sticky floor club or something. We left irritated and overstimulated and skipped dessert. Such a shame.

This was an interesting place. Food was ok. Some good some bland. We went on a live music night with a DJ. The music was inside (not outside) and was so loud couldn't talk to each other. Also, seemed very busy and servers were stretched too thin. I would not recommend this place as the view is all it has going for it. Try another place in Southampton.

We had a lovely time at Harbour on the 6th! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great, and the service made it even better. Our server, Rithik, was absolutely brilliant — super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Thanks for making our visit such a great experience!

Ennios offers next to food also 5 Boutique rooms. We have had both. We choose it as our Pre-cruise hotel. We were welcomed very friendly in the morning. We were far before check-in time but we were welcomed very friendly and could leave our suitcases at the reception (which is at the restaurant enterence) and wonder off in town. Room was ready well before check-in time. Comfortabele room, nice airco so room at good temp. Beds are comfortable. And a mini-bar well stocked (hate it to come into a hotel room and open a minibar which is completly empty). As there is now elevator we could leave suitcases we didnot need at reception which saved us from dragging them upstairs for no reason. We had dinner with them as well. Good tatsefull meals. And very friendly service. The prices i must say were a bit at the high end. I would recommend this place to anybody and probably we would book again here if we would be around.

The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, a well-equipped bathroom, and plenty of natural light. Breakfast was enjoyable, offering a good start to the day. However, the price felt a bit high considering the overall experience. The lack of noise insulation was a major drawback—the traffic noise from the main road was quite intrusive, and the thin walls made it easy to hear conversations from neighboring rooms late at night. While the room itself was pleasant, the noise significantly impacted the stay.

Went for dinner after the boat show. Our first choices were all fully booked with people who had thought further ahead than us, so we went here. The food was great, reasonably priced, perfect atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff, suffice to say we were glad we missed our first choices. Never had tapas before, so I've no frame of reference, but I really enjoyed it and will definitely do it again, particularly if I'm back in Southampton.

In my personal opinion, the restaurant is overevaluated - from Italian cousin there is only a name. Their food definitely doesn’t cost that money they ask, and the whole thing about the restaurant is more pathos. However, I need to acknowledge their effort in serving - they tried to keep it on a proper level!

It's always a delight to eat in Ennio's restaurant – the cuisine is consistently excellent as is the wine, and the staff are friendly, charming, and attentive. We loved the music too!It's worth the trip from Chichester, and conveys a true Italian relaxed sense ofpleasure.

What a fantastic place with a fabulous restaurant and staff that are the friendliest, welcoming people we've ever met in a hotel. The food is some of the best food we've eaten albeit quite expensive compared to other restaurants but absolutely worth every penny however the only slight criticism is the drinks are very expensive, ie £6.50 for a bottle of water and I think it worked out at £13.75 for a double barcardi and a bottle of diet coke as there was no draft coke. We live in a main city so are used to paying inflated prices but the drinks are more expensive than Manchester city prices, but we'd definitely stay here again because everything else was perfect, and it's literally across the road from where we pick the cruise up from.

Ennio’s is our go to restaurant when in Southampton. Always a warm welcome and wonderful service. The food and wine last night were superb. Wonderful place.

Clean, quiet, great food, comfortable beds. Historic building, modernized as much as possible while still retaining the historic elements. Excellent location. Good evening meal and full bar in the historic tavern. Beautifully decorated. Great night life, but everything quiets down by midnight and you'll have a great sleep! Fabulous breakfast.

We traveled across Southern England and stayed in 4-5 hotels but this one was the best of the lot. The members of staff were all friendly, it was nice to have the refrigerator in the room stocked and restocked for free, and the pub food was good. The maritime decor was very interesting due to the local history, too. We will stay at this place in the future when we return to Southampton and recommend it to others

We needed a place to stay the night before our cruise began and I searched for one that wasn’t part of a large chain of hotels. My google search led me to this small inn and I’m so glad it did. The staff were accommodating, friendly and very helpful. Our room on the first floor was small but perfectly adequate and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I had ever had! When we checked in, we were asked what time we would like a cab to pick us up the next morning. And the next morning, there was the cab, 15 minutes early. Everything about our stay was perfect. If we find ourselves in Southampton again, we know where we will be staying!

This amazing establishment offers great food and beer. Our room was perfect. All the staff treat you like a person not a number. Most helpful.

Very nice breakfast. Coffee is really good. (Flat white with coconut milk and americano). Avocado eggs were perfect. Full English breakfast is a bit too salty. Carrot cake is delicious. Overall atmosphere is cosy, spacious room, pets are welcome here. They also have tables outside. There is only one person serving - takes orders at the bar, serves dishes and pours beverages. I would expect at least two, especially in busy morning hours.

This place is great, the coffee is really good, and the food is really nice in particular the new Mett sandwich ! I am very happy it has opened again.

Food was amazing! I had the fried chicken breakfast wrap, really different and delicious! The service is a bit odd though, counter service which means ordering and paying whenever you do, we sat around for a good hour after finishing with no plates cleared as to be honest could have had another drink each but with a dog and baby it was a bit awkward to go to the counter to order.

It was a good experience because the of the value, taste and location but I won’t give 5 stars because sofas and carpet didn’t seem clean to me. A beautiful place like this at such important location must be clean and sparkling all the time. Interior requires more decoration and of course, cleanliness. I could be happier with a little more warm welcome but it’s okay as there’s no such thing as perfection. Took photos of menu for reference as it may help others.

Update 2023 : lots of gluten free options for brunch and lunch. Great cappuccino with oat milk and hot dark chocolate. Nice spacious room, so there is a lot of space between tables. There is also a big outdoor sitting space . The food took 30 min, but the avo toast and the full English breakfast were really nice. The avo toast was very tasty and quite spicy , lots of chilly flakes.

So glad this place is back open again. Such a great place for the community and our family love visiting. Great food and good value. Please visit, help keep it open as it deserves to be.

Flatwhite a bit milky for £3.20 but good was absolutely fine for the price. Good place to get lunch if you want some classic caff food. Panini was nice with a bit of salad and you get chips for £3.80

No problem here on this visit . Food was promptly served and hot . Tea was hot and plates were clean . Missed out on having a 5 star review because the toilets were dirty

Simple no frills place for English breakfast and I enjoy it very much for the old school vibe compared to the trendy fancy cafe types.

I went there this afternoon Thursday 09/10/2025 on my own. I waited and i was ignored by the male staff who were busy chatting in a near by table. No staff came to ask me, show me the menu or anything. Very Hypocrite because when I been there with my white Husband the male female staff come very fast to show us the tables, the menu. Maybe they are Racists because I am not a White English Woman. I was COMPLETED IGNORED AND I LEFT. RUBBISH RESTAURANT

Coffe was weak, water has more flavour and as for the mushrooms they were chewy. Not a good experience have had better in the past. Mentioned this to staff and they made jokes about it

Ordered a mango coconut Matcha paid 6.50£ there was absolutely no flavor and i asked for it to be a bit sweet however the worker added that they will charge extra for the syrup! absolutely overpriced and ridiculous for a drink and i could not drink it at all.

Vietnamese coffee is beautiful but over £5 for a half filled takeaway cup… if I wasn’t in a rush I would’ve asked for it to be filled properly! Not to mention the excess ice!

This Mettricks has a great interior and a spacious outdoor seating area overlooking the guildhall. However it is pricey with a tea costing £4.30 and a coffee at almost £5 which makes it a lot more expensive than other cafes in the area.

New forest sarnie was really tasty, soup of the day was a potato and shallot one which had really good flavour and this herb oil drizzled on top. Only note was the soup was way too salty but otherwise everything else was great!

Really nice food, lovely service! Made a slight error with my order and gave me a milkshake as compensation as I ended up eating a bit later than the rest of my party and I really appreciated this! Will absolutely be back if I'm in Southampton again!

Great coffee, delicious cakes- a good variety, too-, generous portions. Beautifully decorated place, chill atmosphere, bathroom always clean. I wish they had more chairs instead of stools.

An absolute first class cafe. We’re just back from a holiday in Australia and pining for the quality of the food there and found it in Netley. Tasty, interesting choices of breakfast plus the usual favourites beautifully presented and so delicious. Just wish more cafes could replicate what you’re doing. 😊

Surprising little find in Netley. A blend of traditional and modern with some American influences. It's obvious someone cares about this place because it feels professional but not formal and stiff. Food was good, even when we went on Sunday.

I was in Netley for a week, and this became a daily haunt. Unusually for cafes, it stays open until 5pm most days, which allowed me to enjoy a late coffee (and cake!). Good coffee, nice selection of cakes, and the Cheesy Ham Hocky toastie is sublime. Friendly staff, remembered my order after the first visit. Thanks!

Omg. I've had some awful breakfasts in my time. But this is definitely the worse. What a waste of money. Poached eggs were solid. But the most shocking part were the beans. I swear someone or something urinated in them. The quality of this place really unimpressed me.... Looked so good on the picture

Well what an absolutely disgrace to the restaurant company. I should of known if a chicken salad and chicken bites side can be made within 5min something is wrong. I did not check grabbed my food and left as I drove off down the motorway I was surprised when I open my side. This was not chicken it was mostly chicken fat, soggy and tasted awful. Never again will I visit £15 should of just visited McDonald's spent half the price and had something to eat.

Food was prepared quickly. The staff were pleasant. I've never tried food at Leon before and I won't be rushing back. The waffle type fries were quite dried out and we're only warm, nit hot. Think that they looked better than they tasted. Tasty chicken in the wrap, but I found it difficult to eat as it was falling out and dripped quite a lot from the bottom of it.

Good place to stop. Took break while on trip from London to Bournemouth. It has all options of Rowhams such as Mc Donald, Leon, SPAR, Noodle Bar, Costa, Slot Machine Games & WH Smith, see pictures. It also has outdoor seating in lawn with many benches. A dog friendly place. Medium capacity washrooms but huge car park. Has 2 electric charging bays. Parking beyond 2 hours attracts charge. My advice would be not to use the gas station adjacent to it as they charge 15 percent more than any other fuel station in the same area.

Awful. Don't bother. My wrap might have been tasty if it has been even lukewarm - it was cold. Flaccid waffle fries like eating old shoe leather as chewy because cold. I assumed as there was no queue and I had to wait a while, my food was being cooked fresh. I was wrong. £12.50 the best part was a bottle of water, can't go wrong there. Half the advertised rice boxes were not available. Never again, rather go hungry and save my money.

Really tasty, healthy food. A very welcome addition to the usual not so healthy services offerings. We were there for breakfast, but also saw the main menus which looked very good as well. There were breakfast boxes including eggs, mushrooms, avocados, tomatoes etc. I had a salmon pot and sourdough toast. Very convenient packaging for take away. Also had a large water dispenser, complete with mint leaves, which was free to use.

Amazingly friendly and helpful service at Leon, but could also hear friendly and chatty service at Costa, too. Very happy to visit again - thank you!

Was recommended this spot for breakfast whilst I waited for my cars MOT. It turned out to be a fantastic recommendation. I had the full English breakfast could probably have had the half but was swayed by the selection. I didn't have to wait too long for it to arrive everything was hot, it did not disappoint. Very friendly staff, you can certainly see that this is a spot where people return time after time but you will be made to feel just as welcome if it is your first visit. Will be back

Pretty much everything you could ask for from a café. I had the Chicken Caesar Salad and a Regular Cappuccino, both were very tasty and incredibly good value will certainly be popping by again sometime on my bike.

I just want to say thank you to the lovely lady who helped me today. I went into her cafe very anxious and flustered and even though I wasn't purchasing food or drink she went out of her way to help me,sorting out the parking app for me and allowing me to sit on the sofa whilst I calmed down.This kindness deserves recognition and a big shout out....🤩

Fantastic little hidden gem of a café / takeaway! Ordered a full breakfast, with a hot chocolate. Absolutely perfectly cooked, presented & a decent portion. Not too big (so nothing wasted or left!) not too small. Just right :) Great location (for me! lol), friendly & quick service. My new favourite local café, won't be just for breakfast or lunch. Probably bought the worst Belgium buns I have ever had. The ones at the front of the display were lovely looking. However the shop attendant picked from the back. I couldn’t see them. When I got home and opened the box it contained two skanky dry buns. The icing wasn’t white but almost clear with crack marks running through it. One bite told it wasn’t fresh. Almost like it was last week’s work. Went straight in the bin.

I love this place. I always go there for my lunch. Please don’t add so much mayo and almost no chicken :(

First time I tasted a roll from Wenzel's, it was a few months ago, and it was amazing. So, I give them a 5 star review. Went in again on Saturday the 31st, and the service and the staff were beyond amazing and so courteous. They deserve a 10, as the young man who served us definitely went above and beyond, as he said that he would bring our drinks outside to us, as he said that the air conditioning had decided not to work that day, as it was a very hot day, that day. I went in there again on the Monday, 2 days later, and unfortunately, and everything was different. I ate the roll for my lunch when I got home, so I couldn't take it back. It was cheese salad on a granary roll, and there was almost no salad. I knew it wasn't right, as on the Saturday I had ham salad on a granary roll. I was unhappy after the previous service we'd had, which is why it's only 4 stars.

I've been blown away from the great service I received at this bakery. I walked in and was indecisive as to what I wanted so the manager asked if I would like to order a hot drink while I make my decision, I wasn't going to have one, but that was one of the best Latte's I've had in a while. In the end, I bought so much more than I would have and thanks for the suggestions. My lunch was amazing, fresh and well presented. I've had a few Wenzel's orders last year and at other branches but this store has definitely upped their game.

had a Wenzel's up country for the first time and was immediately impressed with the quality, so had to check out the one in Southampton. i was far from disappointed. the baguettes are stuffed full with better quality meat than Greggs or similar cheap bakeries. i would go to Wenzel's over Greggs any day.

I popped in to the city to have a wander around the shops and saw this new bakery. Opposite Primark it was not difficult to miss with the orange signage. Looks good I thought. I like a freshly made baguette but it was so busy I didn’t want to queue for long. However, I did think the place was really well stocked with the choice of fresh produce, sandwiches and pastries. I have since read online that they are a British company from North-West London and have been in business since 1975! I give it four stars for the moment but that’s because I left before being served. It’s not a criticism but it’s a compliment and I will be back in time for that extra star I’m sure.

Just stopped for a quick ice cream. Tasted a couple (raspberry and forest fruit). Decided to sit in for a cone of raspberry sorbet. My son enjoyed his little treat. Friendly service, clean tables, good quality and just enough items on the menu - no too overwhelming.

Came here on opening day mainly for free coffee. Service was top notch and coffee was nice tasting. Nice addition to Shirley high street. Nice selection of drinks and food and ice cream too. Decor good also.

Great cafe with delicious ice cream. They are more than happy to modify your sundae order and the size is worth what you pay for. If you're bored with Sprinkles this is a great place to have ice cream.

Soo I do like to give fair and honest reviews, and also supporting my locals cafes etc is always a bonus...but unfortunately I've been to this cafe four times now and yet it's standards haven't pleased me. Today we ordered 3 cake slices, tea, can of Coke and a milkshake. *the red velvet cake came with a long black peice of hair on it (which we immediately stated) *chocolate cake slice was stale to the touch and even the staff member was embarrassed when we stated it. The replacements took more than it needed to replace as the original staff member went off to make a coffee. In all fairness and I don't say this flippantly...it wasn't worth the £18! The cakes were from costco 🤷🏽‍♀️ Hopefully with time and effort they'll make improvements.

I was pleasantly surprised at how modern and light this Muse is, with a wide range of food and drinks options. I was especially impressed at the customer service (I am not sure what our servers name is but she is a young woman with light skin and dark hair who was working on Saturday 7th June 2025). She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and adapt to complex dietary requirements, double checking ingredients to make sure they were okay (without being asked). Her service was what has made this experience 5 stars, so I hope that she is identifiable by the description I gave because she deserves the credit! Will definitely be returning.

Probably the tastiest coffee in Portswood. I always have a good experience in Muse, both this one and the one in Portwood. I really like the coffee they use, and service is always friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend!

Myself and a friend visited on a weekday evening for a meal & drinks. We hadn’t prebooked a table and were told on arrival that there were no tables, so were directed to eat in the Bar area. I ate a pie for mains and crumble for dessert. All food & drink ordered at the bar. The downside was that due to short staffing we had to clear our table of plates & glasses from the previous customers, although a member of staff wiped the table clean.

Lovely meal, very hot and well presented. Only criticism is mashed potatoes were obviously powdered, would prefer freshly made or frozen. Apart from that wonderful meal, and cocktails were scrummy

Worse steak i have ever had, when asked if my meal was ok, I mentioned and showed it was half fat to which the server just walked away, not even an apology or any option. Could not wait to get out of there, unfortunately I will not be returning, might have even put me off beefeater to be honest as they are not cheap

Was recommended to have a meal here, we were not disappointed. Firstly we were greated by a friendly male who directed us to our table, our order was quickly taken along with our drinks, we had steaks which were cooked to perfection, followed by crumble and sticky toffee pudding equally as nice. Our servers were Andrea and Jane who gave excellent service. Will definitely return with other family members.

Staff are always super friendly. Can be hit or miss on actually getting your steak cooked to your specification, but when done right the steak is sooo good and melts in your mouth. Whatever you do though, do NOT attempt the Mediterranean Salad Bowl - hands down the worst salad I’ve set my eyes on, but lovely waitress was very helpful and understanding when I asked to send it back and get something else.

Upon arrival it took a good minute for someone to acknowledge and seat us. No stress there. We parked opposite the premiere inn assuming that the parking is for the restaurant too. Ample parking and vacant spots if you were coming for dinner. To our surprise they had our table reserved, or didn’t but already had a table big enough ti seat the family. Ample spacious tables and walkways. Drinks ordered and one of the drinks was not what we ordered. We ordered from the roast menu, which they gave us, and what we were there for. Sunday roast. I was impressed with the different Sunday roast items on the menu. We placed our order, specifying that we prefer our meat well done. Notified that the food was made the day before and they have no power or say with. Some may be cooked medium or some well done; they’re not sure. In other words, just be happy with what you get. We accepted our fate. Moments later, another waitress, possibly an owner or manager, notifies us that the roast menu is off the table, and that we should order an alternative meal from their main menu. Burgers and chips. We settled for the double stack burgers, but dearly wanted to sample their brand of Sunday roast at whatever the cost. We arrived at 16:31 pulling in to the parking lot and had only been served our meals 17:37 …. The people next to us,a family just as big as ours arrived after us and got their food before us. It is safe to say, regardless of how nice the burgers are, just based on service alone. We will not be going back . I think the only thing I was impressed with was the fact they brought the kids crayons and pictures to draw on. And the chips the fries were perfect succulent and crispy and the burger for the price though is in my opinion not worth its weight in gold. The kids didn’t finish their burgers and the toddler spat his out. We also wanted to take our left overs and our pancakes the kids couldn’t eat. And the waiter said they don’t do “doggy bags”. I am not at all impressed with this business. And don’t recommend in a high regard.

We went for work Christmas do around 2.20pm, but didnt get asked or served till 3ish, and had to keep calling for someone even for drinks. Not good customer service and we felt we got ignored. However, the food was excellent and worth the money. Really good quality fish n chips, warm chocolate brownie with vanilla icecream.

Great atmosphere until after 9pm when the music was so loud we were all shouting at each. Food service was fine. Food is good and choices had plenty of options. Good selection of beers and lagers. Friday night night has 2-4-1 cocktails.. I think daytime, like Sunday lunches, it's the best for grub, drink and chat without shouting.......

Food was amazing! The staff were really nice and helpful but there wasn't much presence in the restaurant. I understand it wasn't that busy to warrant it it just made things slow, I will be returning.

as a place that has “welcoming atmosphere caters to all” plastered on the main page of their website, this is absolutely not the case. the front entrance has a large lip on the doorframe, making it difficult for wheelchair access- and this is the only way in for wheelchair users. the side and garden entrance both have stairs to enter. there are also stairs leading to the restaurant, which i guess is useful if you want to drink away the pain of being unable to get anywhere else at the bar. would not recommend this to anyone who is a wheelchair user or anyone who struggles with mobility.

Went here for ‘happy hour’ drinks (before going to Thai restaurant for dinner). Good music, great atmosphere and happy hour drinks a bonus. We looked at the food menu but prices a bit expensive - though not seen or tasted so can’t comment.

Quiet when we visited late morning, this popular pub was packed at 7pm. Interesting and large layout, with good selection of beers and friendly staff. Plenty of seating.

Food was disappointing! We had a meal here, it's a nice setting. Staff were friendly (though service slow) but had to change drinks twice due to errors. Food came and burger was ok but most of the other dishes were very sad and not worth the money. Steak is attached, very thin and no option other than medium rare or well done! Medium rare then came well done. Quiche was bland, pork was dry, all round disappointing

Another Wetherspoons I've previously been to, however didn't review. A decent sized pub, including an upstairs seating area and roof terrace, situated on the northern side of Southampton City Centre, just across the road from the north side of East Park. This pub is the nearest Wetherspoons to Southampton Central Train Station. It was not overly busy when I visited, and was easily able to find a table. However, I've been to Southampton before when the Football is on, and this pub can get very busy at those times. Ordered a Sticky Korean Chicken Bowl, chips and a pint of Leffe Blonde. Total was £10.02 On this occasion I ordered at the bar (the app doesn't take cash). A small wait until I was served. Food arrived in about 10 minutes of ordering. A good sized portion was given, and food was of good quality and presentation. Definitely worth a visit, if you are around the area.

The smalles chicken wings ever in a JD Wetherspoon, may I was just unlucky who knows also had to go to the bar again to DK for the cutlery and as usual I wasn't asked if I preferred the bluecheese sauce so had to deat with the super spicy one that I don't particularly like.

An OK bar experience, good for grabbing a quick bite or a quick drink. We went on a Wednesday where they had cheap beer. However, the beer tasted very watery.

Outside seating on the upstairs balcony was nice. Pub was fairly quiet for a Wednesday lunchtime. Managed to get a table easily enough. Had a hot chocolate & my wife had a latte. So cheap & refills are free. Car park in Bedford place was directly opposite & had spaces available.

I did not like the ambience or the food at this Wetherspoon. The place felt quite unhygienic, and there was a strong smell of liquor mixed with an unpleasant odour as soon as I walked in. It didn’t feel like a comfortable environment to sit and eat. The overall atmosphere was off-putting and the food didn’t make up for it either. It was a disappointing experience compared to other Wetherspoon locations I’ve been to.

I was travelling in UK with my wife and chanced upon this unique and reasonably priced pub. To my surprise, the food and beverage, atmosphere and service was great and always packed with patrons. We really enjoued our stay there and dedinietly will drop by any Wetherspoon establishments for rounds of good beer and food. Ennoyed it and Many Thanks👍

I wasn’t impressed with the ambience or food at this Wetherspoons. The place felt a bit unclean, and there was an unpleasant smell of alcohol mixed with something stale as soon as I walked in. It didn’t feel like a comfortable spot to sit and eat, and the food didn’t redeem the experience either. Overall, quite disappointing compared to other Wetherspoons I’ve visited.

Lovely food and drink. But do *not* order from here for delivery. They will accept your order when they have completely run out of the food you ordered, then it will be delivered with no food at all and a little note saying 'oops sorry no food for u lol'. Yes it's a free drink coupon but a) I now have no lunch and b) I don't want a free drink I want my lunch. If you don't have the food then don't accept the order! If you had just declined the order instead I would have found alternative lunch. But now I have no lunch and 30 minutes has passed. This is not a one-off, it happens about 2 in 3 times I order from this place. So I have given up and will no longer be ordering from them.

A long overdue review but this is probably the best place in Southampton to get a good breakfast. Plenty of food and they catered for all our needs with extras and little changes requested. Very clean, friendly and priced well. I have also popped in for a baguette which was delicious.

As a frequent customer at the Welly, I can confidently say it is a great and wonderful cafe, lovely staff and great sandwhiches!! Long live the yellow welly!!

Great little find and so local to us! Fabulous breakfast, quick and friendly service and a they also make a decent brew in a mug! Dont be deterred by the barrier at the car park entrance, provided you dont stay more than 2 hours you get free parking. We will most certainly be back.

A mixed bag with this one, unfortunately! This is my go to coffee shop when I am in Southampton and things really have deteriorated in recent times. I visited yesterday and the coffee was on point. I visited again today and ordered the same coffee and it was barely warm. I queried this with the “barista”, who replied “this is the standard heat for a coffee”. Again, I reiterated that was not the case yesterday! I also ordered a tea, and the cup was filthy. I once again queried this, and the barista said the dishwasher was out of rinse aid. She then put the cup back in the serving pile - see photo! 1. The customer is always right - barely warm coffee is unacceptable. 2. Hygiene standards - clean cups are not a lot to ask for. In fact, it’s a must! 3. Tone and manners - speak kindly! At present, I’d recommend visiting any one of the numerous other coffee shops in the area.

I have been a regular customer of this cafe for many years but over the last 6 months the atmosphere inside has become very annoying and uncomfortable mainly due to the sheer number of laptops taking up huge tables with the customer(s) at said tables making one drink last ages and half the time not even using their laptop, when did this become a thing that cafes allow? It's so arrogant of these people. Another thing is why are customers not using dog areas in the cafe, the last thing I want is a dog walking around near my table shaking it's fur all over the place, disgraceful behaviour that the owners let this happen and today one customer even went up to order a drink with their dog actually in the queue....disgusting and so unsanitary. Needless to say I have put a complaint in and will now be boycotting your cafe and telling all of my family and friends to stay away as I don't want dog hair with my food and drink thanks very much.

I had my morning coffee here today. A nice place with friendly staff. Thanks to the lovely Tiegan who helped me choose my coffee and navigate the app. I could never understand Coffee 1 app!! It is very confusing and not straightforward.

Really gorgeous, cozy place. I usually don't like going to big franchise-based coffee places so I'm glad I found this lovely little spot in Portswood. Amazing coffee (I got a hot mocha) + their regular sized coffee comes in a massive cup haha - talk about value for money! It's a really nice place and the staff are so sweet and pleasant too! Definitely try the almond croissant - so flaky and buttery! Give it a shot, 100%!

Nice place , lovely food, the price is okay. I love the interior design of it. The staff is lovely and always have a smile on:) The coffe is tasty and the special coffe can be really interesting for coffe lovers. The cakes are superb :) They even have a bookshelf full of books for every age and interest.

Lovely place, has a Chic look & feel, one guy serving with the queue going out the door, so waited 20 minutes to be served, was it worth the wait… 🤔. The veganuary offer is fairly appealing it’s a must try & the hot chocolate is fairly yummy, four out of five for this trip. P.S local parking is a nightmare!

The service was perfect. The staff were friendly. The place was reasonably full but felt relaxed. The coffee was good. The vegan breakfast was frankly remarkably good. A lot of places, the vegan option is bland and dull and dry. This was imaginative, colourful, varied and a generous portion size. It was pretty much an ideal dining experience and I was impressed. If you are looking for a casual dining experience in the area, this would be a good choice.

This cafe is one of the best around Southampton, the customer service is impeccable and so is the food. There is always an upbeat atmosphere when I go in, the food is always prompt and hot. The music playing is a good selection of trending and at a right volume level which I enjoy greatly. The milkshakes here are to die for honestly. The manager of the store is really friendly and always remembers people’s names and orders of regulars which I think is so cute, I’ve often seen him dancing with customers too it’s so sweet. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and the service and quality of food has never faltered ☺️

A perfectly cooked English breakfast with excellent, friendly service and great prices. I was a bit apprehensive as it's a small-looking café and the photos on the menu don't look amazing, but I was pleasantly surprised and I will definitely be coming here again. Highly recommend!

It was my first time to visit for lunch. It was rather nice. Nice offers but kebab section is quite pricey. I’d be honest I didn’t try so I can’t comment whether the price matches the quality and value or not but what I tried was delicious and nicely valued. Staff seems friendly and welcoming. Place is amazingly clean and I witnessed a staff cleaning a table thoroughly. They deserve 5 stars for this all effort. Situated at heart of the city and easily accessible. Recommended.

Best breakfast in town for sure. Latte is how it should be done properly, with smooth creamy foam. Breakfast includes coffee, tea or juice included in the price which is rare. A good choice of breakfast options for all tastes. Portions are huge!!! And the price is amazing. I love their food and I am always happy to come back.

Best place we came across in Southampton, Don't know what to complain about really, Excellent food,Staff and hospitality. Loved my Halal breakfast at 1pm in the afternoon and it filled me well till the night. Will definitely recommend and visit again.

Nice persian restaurant in the city centre. The owner and the staff greeted us very warmly and the persian Kebabs and food were delicious. They also offered us persian tea on the house.

Had lunch to try Iranian cuisine and got very impressed😳with the quality of the meat. This place looks like a normal cafe but the food is so good. Compliments to the staff and owner for creating such a nice place to have breakfast and lunch. The menu has three main parts, Breakfasts(eggs, bacon, sausages, beans...) another with common things like burguers... and one with Iranian food. Definitely I will come back.

We were positively surprised by this restaurant. At the first it looks as a mixture of English breakfast and Persian food which is a uncommon but it's definitely worth it. Highly recommended. The waiter is also very nice.

The best cafe in Totton for sure. Always a great meal to be had here, the portion sizes are generous and the ingredients are locally sourced and taste fantastic. The play kitchen is a great addition for children, my kids love it, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Can get busy but that's testament to how good it is! A brilliant café.

First visit this morning. Very cheap prices here and the food looked very good! Only had a black coffee which was a cheap £2.50. Good to see it quite busy. I will try the food next time for sure

8th of August 2025 I had the full house breakfast, two rashes of bacon 2 Colombian sausages one fried egg from the local farm shop one hash brown beans slice of bakery toast with real butter. £7.50. On arrival I was presented with four English chefs who were sat down and left alone to read the menu without being pestered or Disturbed. After ordering, fresh breakfast come out and looks amazing! He's a butcher's sausages butcher's bacon, free-ranged farm eggs good quality baked beans. Real Heinz tomato sauce and brown sauce. Very nice! Hash browns nice farmhouse bread with real butter all in all 10 out of 10 for me. I'm a lovey driver and I eat many cafés around the country and this one is 10 out of 10 from me. Keep up the good work guys. Don't change the quality of your food and ruin it.

A terrific cafe tucked away on an industrial estate. Very nicely cooked breakfast at a great price. Staff very friendly and efficient. The seating is basic but good enough and the tables cleaned between guests. Well worth a visit if you're nearby.

A gem of a café. Hidden away on an enterprise estate, seek it out as the food is exactly what you hope to find for breakfast, brunch or lunch! Only one smashed avo item on the menu but plenty of bacon, sausages, eggs, cheese, beans and delicious granary toast. Staff are friendly and chatty creating a lovely atmosphere.

Very fast service, despite my order not appearing on board via the app. Ordered a large meal and got small/medium at a push fries. Wrap of the day was poor,. Rarely nowadays, all the food was there that id ordered, albeit light on the fries. Could of ordered from hotel restaurant as had an allowance, but wanted quick food and this occasion, paid the price. Asian lass forfilling orders, was rushed off her feet and definitely needed a hand.

Terrible Late-Night Service – McDonald's Doesn’t Care About Online Orders If McDonald's isn't interested in fulfilling late-night online orders, why even keep the option open? I had an absolutely terrible experience today. The staff couldn’t care less about online deliveries – they are too busy cleaning, organizing, and doing everything except preparing orders. They only start making the food when the rider arrives, and sometimes they don’t even bother starting at all! I saw multiple riders waiting for their orders while the employees were just lost in their own world. One lady was literally singing and chilling while orders piled up. And the worst part? I was standing outside in the freezing cold for 10 minutes, knocking on the door, while the employees inside just looked at me but did nothing. They were all waiting for someone else to open the door. Absolutely ridiculous! McDonald's is a massive organization, so I know my review won’t make a difference. But I’m leaving this here because this was hands down one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had. If you don’t want to run online deliveries properly at night, then just don’t offer them.

Said it was open on google, walked the 10 minutes to it. Only open for deliveries or drive through. No mention of this on the app either. So even though we are outside, and they are right there…MAKING the food we would pay for….we have no way of buying it except to pay and wait for delivery… TO OUTSIDE THE STORE? Multiple other people in the same issue of walking up to the doors, and left with no options.

The food was fast and actually pretty fresh (the fries weren't soggy and half the cheese wasn't in the box instead of on the bun), so it is definitely better than a lot of other Mcdonalds.

Rubbish service, fast food???! popped in for 2x hot drinks before our ferry, ordered, they were prepared and then they sat waiting for the staff member to hand them over, they were busy talking to other staff members. Lots of staff, but no idea how to operate. Drinks were only warm but I waited so long for them I nearly missed my ferry. Plus it wasn't even that busy!? 😕

Staff need to be changed, absolutely disgusting food service, poor food being delivered!! My dog even refused eating any part of that rubbish,that's how bad it was, delivery's always bad can't deliver nor mcz take responsibility for there own poor food being sent out to people who pay for their food not actually eat for free like their Staff's do as they probably don't care on what they eating as their service and food quality is very poor. My friend and I had a very pleasant experience here. I had the maxi breakfast and he went for the halloumi breakfast, both of which were faultless and had great portion sizes. Good value as well. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended if you're looking for breakfast or lunch in Shirley.

What an absolute gem of a find in Shirley. Took daughter and two grandchildren (11y&9y) for lunch here for first time. Could not fault the food, plentiful well cooked and presented. The grandchildren said they definitely want to come back here and not MacDonalds (out of the mouths of babes!). Exceptionally clean and staff welcoming. Would definitely recommend a visit and make up your own minds. Thankyou for a lovely lunch.

I love this cafe. There is one member of staff who does my head in moaning all the time so I limit the number of times I go in on a Friday. Otherwise the staff are so kind and caring. They noticed I was upset the other day and they took the time to ask me if there was anything they could do and I said you cant bring my friend back but I would love one of your delicious bbq bacon burgers. Their burgers are so good I dont get them from Burger King or McDonalds i always get my burger at the boat shop. I also love their omelets and there ain't no better for a full english breakfast that is also disabled accessible as I am in a wheelchair and they always make space for me. I was sick once with my epilepsy and jean was on her way home she stopped to help me and I will always love her and be thankful for that. But it is nice to have somewhere nice to go when you like me and live on your own where you are welcome and safe to be there on your own. Enjoy a.lugh with the music on the radio because I'm a singer. Anna once said to me you can sing along but no getting on the tables. It was just fun and on that particular day I was having problems with my PTSD and my depression I went in and had a delicious meal and a laugh. I am always thankful for that. So even if like me you on your own ttavelling through it is literally 5 minutes walk from the train station at woolston so ideally located.

Went here today initially thought it was nice then saw a woman with short bobbed hair make fuss of a dog at the back section of the cafe then just went back to her work and clearly didn't wash her hands they don't wear gloves either !!

This is a wonderful cafe, the service is very good/excellent. Always greeted with a smile and a happy face. Food is very good, you can see the girls cooking it. Which also means you can see the cleanliness, which is also excellent. The toilets are always spotless, and all the girls are good for a laugh. Which makes the atmosphere very good too. Me and my daughter ordered a macaroni cheese each, we live 10 minutes away from here and it said it would be delivered at 12:05-12:15. It is now saying it's going to be delivered at 12:45 after going up 3 times. Absolutely terrible service, don't order from here.

Staff are very rude and aggressive and always frustrated with the customer. A definite lack of customer service, everything is too much trouble. If you request anything they ignore you. It's always the same old faces that behave that way and no one at Head Office is aware so they get away with it. When you have bad service there take the time to write in if you're taking the time to write a review and perhaps they will train staff how to be polite.

I must say a big "thank you" to Abbie and Felix for preventing me being really poorly. I have a milk intolerance and I came in with my dog and I ordered a hot chocolate and a pup cup. My dog absolutely loves visiting Costa. All the staff love making a big fuss of her and she gets lots of attention from customers too. This one time when I was ordering my hot chocolate I forgot to tell them about my milk intolerance as I usually order oat milk. Thank goodness Abbie and Felix were alert! I would have been so poorly if I had taken a sip of my drink. I must say that I find all of the staff at Costa so hard-working, so attentive, are on the ball and are very friendly. Thank you for making myself and my one extremely happy dog so welcome!

It was a cold november day and I foolishly thought pampering my wife and myself with a festive Black Forest + cream hot chocolate so went into this place and order it with plant based ‘oat’ milk. What I got its two paper cup. I asked about the cream suspecting its not there. Oh I was right no cream in it, after ask cream, the quite moody barista girl simple solution was drain out some hot chocolate from the cups and put some cream in it and closed the lid. Nice. No spoon, no napkins nothing. I had to ask two spoons as well. Even the hot chocolate was watery and doesn’t taste like the Black Forest, also doubted its oat milk based so I didn’t drink it, let the flies have it. £8.90 well spent, thank you Costa. My advice avoid this place.

Disappointed to have used the Too Good To Go app 24hrs ago, prepaying for food at Costa Coffee Hythe, then driving, parking and walking here today, to find they decided to cancel my prepaid order an hour ago. So, no food available. Nothing else even offered as a gesture of goodwill. Added edit: To add insult to injury, I was pretty surprised to be standing outside Mamma Mia's half an hour later to see the same 2 staff members waltz past me with their own Costa bag of goodies. It looked like they did have my order available after all, but made an executive decision to keep it for themselves instead. Not a good look...

The lady staff was super rude. If she is not in the mood for working, she didn’t have the right to project it on me. I did nothing wrong. She was polite to other customers though. It’s not my fault that I am a Chinese descent though. I hate a racist person tbh!

I would just like to commemorate this review to one staff member (Lisa). A few weeks ago I came in, as I have been for 4 years on and off, and noticed Lisa was coughing with her mouth open and then straight into her hand (clearly has a flu), which is fine, however she proceeded to grab a cup to make my drink without washing her hands. I think thats poor hygiene. I politely requested someone else make my drink as I dont wish to get unwell and she huffed and said “god sake it’s ridiculous, we have all been unwell” and stormed off. Today I come in and she mumbles under her breath and walked away from the till and all the girls proceeded to smirk. All fine. Im a big boy but I am not wrong on this. If at the grand age of 60 years old you have not learned to wash your hands and keep them clean then truly there is no hope. Dont hold a grudge because I have called you out on it and then have the cheek to make comments under your breath. Grow up. You seem a little miserable Lisa, people like to receive their coffee with a friendly hello and positivity, not a grump. I did notice this isn’t the first review about you and a likely hood it wont be the last. Nice manager, ok staff, ok coffee but I wont ever return to this store again. Above bar street which is a 7 minute walk is MUCH better. Highly recommended. Merry Christmas Lisa.

Need to re-trainning female staff's attitude. I have been starbuck at London road a lot of times but Never happy with female staff. specially white and blond hair old lady staff. I understand customer service is not easy but how she is ALWAYS SAME angry face and rude since first visit . She has to learn other starbuck staff's attitude!!

This is what I received in my order from Adam’s cafe! £5 for a portion of chips which was absolutely ridiculous. Place is well over priced and not being funny but definitely won’t be back again after the shambles!! Now he’s saying Uber takes 40% it’s not the price I was moaning about look at how many chips I got for a 5er and you can’t say it’s cheaper in the shop as it’s the same price!

I love Muse. Reasonably priced drinks which are good quality. Really nice eclectic style inside which we enjoy. Only thing I would say is some of the furniture could do with a little tlc, but it's not enough to stop us coming here. Good vibes, staff always nice to talk to. Welcoming to people studying which is lovely to see. The street art outside is excellent too. And needless to say, important. Well done Muse 🫶

My favourite place in portswood!! Staff are so friendly and now know my regular order (lol). I come here most days because they do the BEST matcha lattes ever! Cakes are also delicious and there is such a nice vibe in there either for studying or catching up with friends.

Came here years ago and didn't think much of it, now they've turned it around and it's excellent. First thing you'll notice is that they serve 1 size for each coffee, which means you won't pay extra to essentially have your double espresso watered down. Second thing is the pricing, which I consider very reasonable; americano is £2.70, milk drinks are all £3. They also don't charge extra for non-dairy milk so a flat white with coconut milk (my favourite here) will be £3 but the same at Coffee #1 will cost £4! £3.70 plus 30p for the coconut milk. Cakes and pastries are generally good, although the pricing of the croissants is a little high at £3 for one. Stays open till 9pm everyday which is a bonus. Definitely would recommend.

Beautiful cafe, drinks really well made and very good value for money in comparison to typical chain coffee shops. They have more specialty drinks like matcha latte and Turmeric latte. Many dairy alternative options and vegan & gluten free food.

Very nice cafe, the staff were nice and the place fairly priced. They were only taking cash for a short period of time. So we needed to take money out of a cash point. It isn’t far, it does charge you £0.99 per transaction. The coffee was good and my halloumi focaccia sadly didn’t quite met my standards as the halloumi was a bit hard, a bit stale. Other than that the overall experience was great. Also the female bathroom has an open jar with sanitary products for anyone to use which I thought was great :D

Ok coffee, quirky/hipster decor, sadly mediocre food. Friendly enough staff (offered a refund for the ‘berry compote pancakes’). Shame, as I had high hopes - a few tweaks to improve the quality could make a world of difference.

I Highly Recommend Edison’s!!! We tried the iced coffee and another drink at Edison’s, and both were absolutely delicious. But the real standout was the Dubai chocolate pancake, it was out of this world! Rich, indulgent, and perfectly made. The atmosphere was amazing and welcoming, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the overall vibe was amazing. This place truly feels like a hidden gem in Southampton. I highly recommend stopping by.

A perfect start to our Southampton visit. The owner was so sweet, and the chef makes incredible dishes. I had the smoked trout with capers, a potato hash cake, pea shoots, and cream cheese. It was so perfectly seasoned, balanced, fresh, and bright. The coffee is very high quality, brought in from a roaster in Oxford, and everybody working there was just lovely. I hope we can come back sometime.

Came here for Mother’s Day, lovely space, staff are all super friendly, food was incredible and coffee was brilliant! If you’re looking for a relaxing spot to grab some really tasty food and great coffee, this is it! Would highly recommend and will definitely return!

nice brunch spot in southampton. we ordered the bacon eggs benedict, an oat mocha and the pistachio latte. it was a very busy bank holiday monday and unfortunately our drinks came 20 mins after our food which was a shame. but would visit again as it had a good atmosphere ☕️

If I could give this place 10 stars, I'd do that! Coffee is great, food is amazing, new menu items are incredibly well thought, new chocolate-pistachio pancakes are the best pancakes I've ever had in my life 😋 I love that menu is non-standard and each item has an element of surprise, all the ingredients are blending together extremely well and you are in a food heaven. I'll definitely be back again, it may be the best place in Southampton for brunching!

Everything is just excellent here! Generous portions of delicious food. The lattes and flat whites were fantastic! Gluten-free bread was quite close to regular bread in terms of taste.

Fantastic cafe for sunny day with beautiful view and friendly staff. I visited this place several times, the coffee they serve is excellent and food was fresh. They have many different kinds of cakes. but the only problem is their plates , they use paper plates that make very hard to eat food there and also plastic glass for water.

The atmosphere was really good. So nice to have coffee by the river. Too bad the kitchen was out of order when we came in. Will definitely come back again to try their food! I had the iced lavender latte, something new to me but was nice. The victoria sponge cake was lovely, and so is the mocha! There is a parking area near the riverside park. Dog friendly establishment as i have seen people with dogs!

A tourist trap - just over £35 for 2x small breakfast and two hot chocolates plus you’ll wait in a huge queue on a weekend. You will be able to get a much better breakfast in a 4* hotel for the price paid here. The toilets are dirty, the outdoor staff are rude and the benches are not clean - hardened poop left on them. Wouldn’t recommend or return here.

I’ve been here a few times and love it, the scenery, the food (!!) and the staff all wonderful. As a vegan I really appreciate the variety of options they offer- highly recommend the vegan bap 👌🏻 I do however need to knock one star off for a couple reasons. The matcha here is just bad, I assume it’s a mix that I’ve seen other cafes use and doesn’t taste of genuine matcha at all. You can see from the photo the colour. The staff kindly replaced it with a chai latte but unfortunately it wasn’t for me. Another point is the paper plates. It seems rather wasteful and difficult to manage when the wind picks up outside (flying plates and plastic cups). I ended up with tofu scramble in my handbag! This wouldn’t however put me off coming back, I just know now to weigh my plate down with a few pieces of cutlery! Again, the food is amazing so tasty and the cakes too! The staff are always helpful and so nice so I would recommend coming here.

Poor Service, stood at the counter waiting whilst two members of staff continued their chat without even acknowledging my presence, ordered a Hot Chocolate which arrived in a paper cup, the cost ……. A whopping £5.50 😳, I questioned the price but was told it was correct. Took it to the garden to sit in the sunshine only to find that it was luke warm and mediocre. I used the Gents while there which not only is about three flights of stairs up but was totally disgusting, appalling in fact. Such a shame because great spot but I for one will not be returning nor recommending.

Little disappointing. Food and drink is served on single use, disposable cups and plates in a time where we should all be trying our best to reduce our waste. Food was tasty and fresh but felt quite expensive for how it was served. It would have made all the difference if it was served on reusable things! Inside is a little outdated and again I didn’t feel the seating matched the price as outdoors is basic picnic style benches. Could be really good, just need to invest in some cups and plates. Staff were all lovely and attentive. Big fan of the photos of all the pets that have attended too.

I recently visited Costa and unfortunately witnessed something truly appalling. A so-called “customer” was screaming, swearing, and hurling vile homophobic and derogatory insults at a young member of staff. The behaviour was threatening, feral, and utterly unacceptable. I can only apologise on behalf of decent people for such heinous actions no one should ever be subjected to that, least of all someone simply trying to do their job. And yet, in stark contrast to that disgraceful display, the young manager showed nothing but professionalism, composure, and kindness. He stood there, dealing with language and behaviour that most of us would find impossible to tolerate, and he never once lost his calm or his manners. His ability to remain polite and composed in the face of such hostility was nothing short of remarkable. What struck me even more was how, after the situation passed, he snapped straight back into serving customers with warmth and positivity, even though it was obvious the encounter had shaken him. That level of resilience, especially from someone so young, is beyond admirable. The difference between the appalling behaviour of that individual and the way this young man carried himself could not be more stark. He is an absolute credit to Costa a shining example of professionalism, dignity, and strength. No one should ever be treated the way he was, and yet he turned an ugly moment into a demonstration of how incredible customer service can be under pressure. This young manager deserves the highest praise. Costa should be proud to have him.

Hayley always goes above & beyond with her service skills. She remembers my order everytime i go in. Always asking how i am with a smile on her face. And just the little things like she always remembers i have a straw with my order. Excellent customer service!

Today, around 11 a.m., Costa Coffee staff and the manager refused to allow a disabled person access to the restroom, forcing him to leave. This rude and racist behavior will be remembered for a long time. The staff explained that the restrooms were for customers only, which is not true. My brother has mobility issues, and this is a very difficult situation for him; holding and walking for long time make him very uncomfortable. We will never use this coffee shop again and will not recommend to anyone

Nay makes you feel warm and welcome and it’s always a nice chilled quiet atmosphere in here. Easily my favourite out of all 5 costas in town centre.

Ive used deliveroo to order the full breakfast and by far the best ive used several times. Sausages and bacon are the best part of that meal. Compliments and a thank you to chefs and staff. Will definitely will pass on to others to give this place a try.

Lovely small locally owned cafe situated next to Queens Park. I've been here a handful of occasions due to it being near to my accomodation, and the food and atmosphere is always great. I haven't tried the lunch menu yet, however the breakfasts are fantastic. The prices of both food and coffee are also great considering. Will definitely be making this a frequent visit. Thanks!

Probably the last cafe at the end of the High Street and surprisingly good. Clean, tidy and delicious pastries. The coffee is great too. Also, probably the cleanest and fashionable restroom I’ve seen! Well worth a visit if you’re coming off the ferry or going to it. Stop by and relax. I recommend it.

We went there for a coffee and English breakfast. Food was Okay as was the service. What was disturbing a bit were the waitresses "chatting" at koud volume together. We couldn't hear background music and talking to eachother almost ended in speaking at leveled tone.

Treated very rudely by the man that served. 1pm arrived assistant raised his hands told me to be quiet during ordering!. I said that's a rude thing to do. He did not apologise, served hot chocolate which was spillt on saucer and messy. I didn't complain as he was a rude man. Very rude service.

I really enjoyed my coffee & the person who served me was lovely. However, the male barista ignored my friend, who was next in line. When I politely pointed this out, he responded with a poor attitude. Unfortunately, this experience has put me off returning. There are other coffee shops nearby with friendlier and more professional staff.

Order a hot chocolate 10minutes ago. Just opened the lid because I thought it felt light. It was half full. Really disappointed.

Very disappointing experience at this coffee shop due to the behavior of the man working at the counter today. He was blatantly unprofessional and disrespectful, which is completely unacceptable in any customer-facing role. There was no effort to be courteous nor patient, and his attitude made some customers feel uncomfortable as he would make them rush their order and visibly/audibly sigh if they took a bit longer thinking what to get. This kind of conduct reflects poorly on the establishment and shows a lack of basic customer service standards. People attending your store should be met with basic respect and professionalism at the very least, and this place displayed none of these things.

Very lovely staff, I ordered a hot chocolate which was very good. I also ordered a croissant but it was disappointing. It had been left out for ages to the point it went stale and it just didn't taste nice for what I payed. Overall it was ok but I'd probably visit not that often or in the morning when the pastries are warm and fresh.

If we could give zero stars, we would. We’ve always been loyal Caffè Nero customers and usually enjoy the experience, but this particular branch on Above Bar Street in Southampton was deeply disappointing. Despite understanding how busy the staff might be, we waited patiently in the queue expecting to be treated with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, one male staff member was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. When we didn’t immediately hear what he said due to the noise inside, he responded with impatient hand and facial gestures rather than repeating himself politely. To add to the poor service, we clearly requested a takeaway order, yet it was served in a mug. When we politely clarified and asked for it in a takeaway cup, he changed it—but again with attitude and another rude gesture. We love Caffè Nero and usually receive warm, respectful service across different branches. Sadly, this location was the complete opposite—rude, impatient, and unprofessional. We won’t be returning to this branch.

Love the new changes made - so much brighter! Food and drink always good! Staff are always friendly. The only areas of feedback I'd give is that it could always do with more seating, and the front doors are incredibly heavy, meaning the shop isn't always accessible (saw several older ladies struggle, and those in wheelchairs also struggle).

I was served by Eva but in fact all three on today are lovely. They all really care about their customers. I had a nice chat while they made my coffee and heated up my mince pie. I honestly don’t think I’ve been to a costa with such friendly service.

I come here on the regular. The staff are always so friendly and patient. The coffee is always made to perfection making me go back for more. They go above and beyond. So clean and tidy. I just can't complain they are amazing!!

Have repeatedly asked the store to remove the graffiti as our council requires us to do, but they refuse to remove it, even stating so ''they have said if they remove it then it wil just happen again'' (thas what the costa facebook said the store replied to them) So they clearly don't care about the residents of the area, the ones who would actually buy their products, They're happy to leave it looking a state . If they are fine about that, i wouldn't trust anything coming out of their store. PS. it would take all of 2 minutes to paint over. so its just pure laziness and greed.

Now allowing all dogs in which is a shame as was only coffee shop left that didn't. The sign on the door saying dogs must be under control not on seats etc is ignored and staff too busy to enforce and will not risk upsetting regulars. Having seen pampered pooch strapped to chest in like baby carrier licking the counter and sniffing round the biscuits indulged by staff who were cooing over it I'm left with no choice but to vote with feet and do without my coffee

I’ve been coming here to do some uni work the past few weeks and the staff have always been lovely. Spending 3-4 hours here sometimes, and close to closing time, during which I’ll usually buy a couple of drinks and maybe lunch or a cake. Staff are helpful, polite and the cafe is spotlessly clean. Especially would like to praise Sophie, she’s provided friendly service and I have enjoyed coming here and working on my laptop.

Great quality food and a good price. Lovely desserts to eat in or takeaway. Perfect place to sit with a brew and watch the horses.

Good coffee stop for our Sunday morning ride with Alton CC, nice flapjacks and cakes and a friendly welcome. £7 minimum for credit cards caught a few people out.

First time visiting & wont be the last! Wide range of food available from cooked breakfasts to paninis, we opted for the large breakfasts. Large is an understatement! Never have I had a sausage so big I couldn’t fit it in my mouth, these must be from mega pigs! The eggs were cooked to perfection and I am a fussy egg eater. The cook was so friendly and bubbly she couldn’t do enough for us, it’s nice to walk into a business and notice the staff enjoying their jobs! I think her name was Jane. I will be returning soon for more of your super sausage!

Always come here to watch the riders in the arena and grab some food, food is always tasty no matter what I choose, Jane is an asset to your team and always smiling and helpful. Hay rack cafe see you soon!

We enjoyed a lovely, traditional cooked breakfast in clean, welcoming surroundings.

We enjoyed a hot chai tea and an iced caramel latte. Both were great. Had to try their chocolate chip shortbread and it did not disappoint! Staff is friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside and soaking in the sun next to a beautiful park.

We love to support local shops and this one was full of surprises. Very good coffee, polite and helpful staff and good mellow music in the background. We loved the eclectic style and the interesting artwork. We will visit again next time we pop over to Southampton.

There’s nothing quite like enjoying your coffee in an art-filled atmosphere right in the heart of the city. A truly unique experience — definitely worth a visit!

The espresso and milk drinks are very tasty. The turkish coffee, while slightly bitter, is an interesting experience. The seating is comfortable. The decor is unique if a bit over the top. It's a pleasant and interesting cafe.

I discovered Coffeelogy today by accident. As I coach driver, I needed to stop and take a break. The atmosphere was friendly with interesting design and decor, plus filled with books to read. I ended up staying for a couple of hours before going back to collect my passengers. The coffee was lovely and reasonably priced and the cinnamon swirl was delicious too! A great place to spend some spare time, relax and enjou a book. The gentleman serving was so friendly too and kindly let me borrow the book I became engrossed in until I return next. Well worth a visit and I shall be returning next time I have a job in Southampton. Thank you!

It’s a beautiful place hidden from view that I found it by accident. They served great and tasty Turkish coffee. Part of the coffee shop is art gallery but it was closed when I went there but it is good to go there and have a drink and enjoy the watching art works. It’s great to try local delicious coffee instead of big companies in the town.

Nice to find a cafe that is a little different to the generic modern norm. Comfy seats, chandeliers, fresh flowers, lots of space between tables.

Really good breakfast, especially for £7.50. Good quality ingredients, sourdough toast was great, personally I'd prefer the tomatoes to have a bit more of a grilling. Service was quick and coffee was decent

The space has a very nice vibe. I took me a while to realize that one needs to order at the counter as none of the waiters told me so. Then they forgot my coffee. And when they brought it after a reminder, the waiter told that she doesn't remember if she heated the milk (she didn't). I took the breakfast with chicken sausage, which was nice. But the 🍄 were bitter as hell.

Delicious breakfast served at noon. Plenty of seating and clean toilets. The outside looks unappealing but don't be put off. Staff fairly affable. Music a bit loud

Beautiful trendy cafe and an amazing throwback to the good ol cliff Richard esque tunes combined with great customer service makes this is a must visit when in Southampton. The soup was tasty and flavourful with an amazing consistency. We got the bruschetta without the egg but still was extremely well made.

Come see Fernando, Nikola, and Reece, they gave us the best service. Fun atmosphere and great cocktails. One of the best Espresso Martinis ever..

Winnie’s Café is such a gem! The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make every visit a delight, and I want to give a special shoutout to Teresa for her exceptional service—she always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home. The menu is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend trying their breakfast options. Huevos Rancheros is absolutely delicious!! And if you’re bringing your furry friend, don’t miss out on Jude’s ice cream for pets—it’s Coco’s favorite! Coco loves coming here just as much as I do, especially with the tasty snacks they offer for pets. Whether I’m here for a coffee break, a quiet spot to study, or just some quality time with family and Coco, Winnie’s Café is the perfect place. Thank you for creating such a wonderful space!

Teresa was most helpful. She helped us check in. She was aware that we’d endured a long flight and was aware that we wanted to rest and therefore checked us in promptly. This was a great find and we will be using you again. Breakfast was excellent too.

We loved the breakfast foods. And the service was top notch. We had a drink at the bar the night before and the bartender made us awesome drinks. Very nice hotel and Bryan and Justine made us feel very welcome. Yhe room is roomy and so comfortable with all yhe amenities you could ask for. We will stay here again.
