Fortress

Chandragiri Fort, a historic 11th-century stronghold located in the Chittoor district, offers visitors a glimpse into the region's rich past. The fort served as a refuge for Vijayanagar royalty and later became part of British governance. Today, it houses an archaeological museum and hosts an evening light and sound show that vividly portrays the royal lifestyle through 3D holography effects.
Located in a remote village from tirupati, no bus stops ,railway station Or auto stand near by.. You better go by a cab or auto as round trip and ask the driver to wait to pick you up. One small tea shop is there opposite to fort, no other hotels or canteens near by., closing time is 5.00 pm you may stay up to 5.30 or 6.00 pm in some days. Raja fort is converted to museum and rani fort is empty . Rainwater harvesting pond from mountain is a very beautiful place and some remnants of statues and old buildings also there. Apart from fort • Temple outside the fort •The fort entrance • The hill •The scaffold at the top of the hill Can be viewed. Overall a must visit place for history lovers.

Entry fee - 30rs...it is such a historical place dates back to 1000 AD built by Vijayanagara dynasty king Immadi Narasimha Yadava Rayala... This fort consists of two Mahals ( buildings) named Raja Mahal & Rani Mahal. Raja Mahal is now using as Museum consisting lot of historical exhibits related to that period from various places. Management are not allowing to go top of the hill which have remains of historical elements due to security purposes.
Kiran K — Google review
Nothing much to see here! There is a small museum with a few sculptures of some deities, and there is a small pond. Other than these nothing else. Ticket cost is ₹30 per head. If you are travelling from a faraway place, then keep in mind that there is nothing to see of much importance! Not allowed to climb the hill also for security reasons.

A wonderful place to explore Andhra Pradesh’s rich history. The fort is well-maintained, and the Raja Mahal turned museum is impressive with artifacts and sculptures from the Vijayanagara period. You can feel the grandeur of the empire here. Peaceful atmosphere, great for a half-day visit. Entry fee is minimal. Highly recommend if you’re in or around Tirupati.

Beautiful experience. Museum got lot of ancient artefacts and also real Sri Krishna deva raya dharbar. Sri rajeswari temple near by got gorgeous architecture and a must visit place.

Such a cool spot to check out near Tirupati! This was King Sri Krishnadevaraya's fort, and the old palace looks amazing. It was the perfect way to spend this holiday afternoon. But for real, the best part is the little stalls outside. You HAVE to grab some of the local fruits they're selling so fresh and tasty! It was a great snack after walking around. Totally recommend it for a quick trip back in time!

Hindu temple
The ISKCON Temple in Tirupati is a stunning Krishna temple adorned with an elaborate, gilded facade and towering entrance gate. It provides a peaceful haven for meditation and spiritual practices, offering dedicated spaces for inner reflection and guided meditation sessions. The temple is part of the global network of ISKCON temples, aiming to promote Bhakti Yoga and the teachings of Lord Krishna.
🛕 ISKCON Temple, Tirupati – A Peaceful Spiritual Experience The ISKCON Temple in Tirupati, also known as Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir, is a serene and beautiful spiritual destination located on the way to Alipiri (the starting point of the Tirumala Hills). It is maintained by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha. ⭐ What to Expect: Peaceful Atmosphere: Unlike the crowded Tirumala temple, ISKCON offers a calm and meditative environment, ideal for devotees and tourists looking for a peaceful experience. Beautiful Architecture: The temple features traditional South Indian style mixed with ISKCON’s signature architecture. The idols of Radha-Krishna are beautifully decorated. Peaceful, well-maintained, and spiritual environments with beautiful architecture and devotional singing. Visitors often praise the temple's cleanliness. The vegetarian food served there.
Manas S — Google review
I recently visited the ISKCON Temple in Tirupati and honestly, I left with mixed feelings leaning more towards disappointment. While the temple itself is beautiful in architecture and grandeur, the overall atmosphere felt more commercial than spiritual. From the moment you enter, you are constantly nudged towards donation counters, book stalls, and prasad shops rather than being allowed to quietly connect with the divine. The focus seems heavily tilted towards generating revenue, with too much emphasis on selling products and promoting programs. The peace and meditative environment I expected was often interrupted by announcements and sales-like approaches, which took away from the serenity of worship. Even darshan felt rushed, as though it was part of a transaction, not a soulful experience. The temple staff appeared more concerned with managing the flow of money and visitors rather than guiding them spiritually. For a place meant to uplift the soul, the commercialization was a big letdown. Though ISKCON has done great work globally, this particular branch in Tirupati felt more like a spiritual marketplace than a sanctuary. If you’re seeking a deep, divine connection, this may not fulfill your expectations.

The ISKCON Temple in Tirupati, also known as Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir, is a peaceful and spiritually vibrant place located near Alipiri, the foothill of Tirumala. Managed by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, this temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha. The calm surroundings, divine chants of the Hare Krishna mantra, and melodious bhajans create a soothing atmosphere for visitors. The temple architecture is elegant, blending South Indian and ISKCON styles beautifully. Free prasadam is served daily, and a bookstall offers ISKCON literature and devotional items. A must-visit for peace and devotion seekers.

HARE KRISHNA ❤️🙏🏽 The ISKCON temple in Tirupati may be small, but it is incredibly beautiful and serene. The idols of Lord Krishna and Radha, along with other gopikas, are exquisitely crafted and so captivating that two eyes aren’t enough to take in their divine beauty. The Govindaraja Swamy Temple, situated just 20 km away from the renowned Venkateshwara Temple, is a significant pilgrimage site for Vaishnavites in Tirupati. This architectural marvel showcases stunning Dravidian architecture and hosts elaborate rituals daily, attracting numerous devotees. Visitors often describe the temple's serene ambiance and intricate carvings as awe-inspiring.
Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati is truly a divine and peaceful place that I highly recommend every devotee or visitor to experience at least once. Located within a walkable distance from Tirupati Railway Station, this temple is easily accessible and ideal for those arriving by train. Dedicated to Lord Govindaraja, who is believed to be the elder brother of Lord Venkateswara, the temple holds immense spiritual significance. The atmosphere inside is calm and serene, providing a perfect setting for peaceful prayer and reflection. The architecture of the temple is impressive, with towering gopurams and intricate carvings that tell stories from ancient scriptures. One of the best aspects is that mobile phones are not allowed inside, which really enhances the spiritual experience. A free and secure mobile deposit counter is available near the entrance, so you can focus fully on your darshan without distractions. As soon as you enter the temple street, it feels like a festival – with plenty of shops selling flowers, prasadam, fruits, toys, and devotional items. It’s a vibrant, colorful area full of energy and devotion. The darshan of Lord Govindaraja is absolutely mesmerizing – His majestic idol captivates your heart and mind instantly. Don't miss the free anadhanam (meal service) offered at around 1 PM – it’s well-organized and serves tasty food to hundreds of devotees daily. Overall, Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple is a must-visit – not just for its religious importance, but for the unique blend of spiritual bliss, culture, and tradition it offers. A highly recommended experience in Tirupati!

It's an devine place for Hindu's. We have visited around 8.40. The temple entry was closed. Only ekantha seva was about to start. It will be from 9pm to 9.30pm. it was really a super56 and awasome experience. We have waited for almost 30 min. But kind of darshan was really thrilled us. It's an different experience. Thanks to TTD. @ttd you can maintain this place even better than what it is. You are named for clean and hygiene. Thanks you

Temple timings aren't know to all, found one board near the ticket counter sharing the same here, it was closed when we visited around 6 pm . There was a nice devine procession in the premises, took few pictures, staff at the ticket counter and mobile collection counter are brutally arrogant as many ask same questions because there are no clarity on information on darshan timings as well as counter opearting hrs. Like many other temples in North they should open few authorized mobil phone collecting shops to ease the crowds at the single counter managed by the temple.

5/5 – A Peaceful and Historical Temple in the Heart of Tirupati Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple is a must-visit if you are in or around Tirupati. It is one of the oldest temples in the city, built in the 12th century and beautifully maintained by TTD. The temple has a calm and divine atmosphere, perfect for peaceful darshan without heavy crowds like in Tirumala. The architecture is stunning, with detailed carvings and a majestic gopuram. Early morning darshan (around 6 AM) is the best time to visit for a peaceful experience. The temple is very close to Tirupati Railway Station, making it easy to access. The place is clean, staff is helpful, and the entire visit feels spiritually uplifting. You also get tasty Laddu Prasadam after darshan. If you’re starting your journey to Tirumala, visiting this temple first is highly recommended. ✅ Peaceful vibes ✅ Beautiful architecture ✅ Easy to reach ✅ Less crowded ✅ Spiritually fulfilling Highly recommended for all devotees and tourists! 🙏

The Shri Govindaraja Swami 🙏Temple 🛕is a spiritually significant temple located in the heart of Tirupati city. Just a walkable distance from the railway station🛤️, making it easily accessible for all. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu , here as govind Raja Swami. The main Deity is in a unique reclining Yoga Nidhra posture, facing east with his right hand under his head and his left hand, resting straight over his body. At his feet, sit his divine consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi. Interestingly, some texts mention Govindarajaswamy as the elder brother of Lord Venkateswara, whose main temple is also located in Tirupati. 🔑 for a smoother and faster, Darshan visitors can option for a ₹50 tickets which offers quicker Darshanam. 🔑Please note that mobile phones are not allowed inside the temple. However, deposit counters are conveniently located at the entrance to safely store your devices before entering.

Silathoranam Garden in Tirumala is a peaceful and scenic spot that’s definitely worth visiting. Nestled in the hills, this beautiful garden surrounds the natural rock formation “Silathoranam,” which is a rare geological wonder. The garden is free to enter and has a wide variety of plants, trees, and small wooden art displays that add to its charm. One of the highlights is the small animal and bird enclosure where you can see ducks, rabbits, peacocks, hens, and pigeons—perfect for kids and nature lovers. I recently visited Silathoranam Garden in Tirumala, and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful and refreshing spots of my trip. The natural rock arch, which is the highlight here, is truly unique and has a special spiritual significance. It is said to be connected with Lord Venkateswara’s temple history, and standing near it gave me a divine and memorable feeling. The garden around Silathoranam is beautifully maintained, with greenery, colorful flowers, and clean walking paths. It is a perfect place for families to relax and spend some quiet time away from the temple crowds. I noticed many devotees enjoying photography and taking a stroll in the peaceful surroundings. The calm atmosphere makes it feel like a natural retreat within Tirumala. Facilities are also good here. The area is neat, rest areas and seating spots are provided, and the entire garden is kept clean by TTD staff. Entry is free, and security ensures the place remains safe for all visitors. The location is easy to reach by road, and there is enough parking space nearby. What impressed me most was how well nature and spirituality blend here. The unique rock formation, combined with the well-kept gardens, gives a very special experience. Silathoranam Garden – A Natural Wonder in Tirumala Silathoranam, located near the Srivari Paadalu and just 1 km from the Tirumala Temple, is one of the most unique and picturesque spots in the Tirumala hills. It is home to a rare natural rock formation, and the surrounding area is beautifully maintained as a scenic garden, often referred to as the Silathoranam Garden. The word Silathoranam in Telugu means "rock garland" (sila = rock, thoranam = garland). This natural arch-like rock structure is estimated to be over 1500 million years old, and it is one of only three such formations in the world. The arch measures about 8 meters in width and 3 meters in height, and is made of quartzite rock. The structure is believed to have formed due to natural erosion and weathering over millions of years. The garden around Silathoranam is well-maintained, with walking paths, flowering plants, benches, and scenic views of the hills. It’s a peaceful spot where visitors can relax, take photos, and enjoy the calm environment. Silathoranam is also considered spiritually significant, as it's believed that Lord Venkateswara's idol in the Tirumala Temple shares the same height as the arch, and many devotees believe it to be a divine creation. Whether you're a pilgrim, a nature lover, or someone who enjoys geological wonders, the Silathoranam Garden is a must-visit while in Tirumala.

The Kapila Teertham is a beautiful lake located in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The lake was damaged by the monsoon last year, but has since been restored by the management. During summer, the waterfall at the lake is exhausted, but it's still a pleasant place to visit. However, visitors are charged money to visit the temple at Kapileshwara swamy.
Awesome place. Plenty of space for parking. Have Hanuman temple at the beginning , followed by Vishnu and kapileshwar temple and koneru(pond). Can spend at least an hour happily.

A must visit place if you are in Tirupati. It’s a wonderful view of waterfall with temple and pond view. Night lighting was very nice and you can visit the pond until 7pm from the morning time. Parking is near the temple.

Visited last month. Very peaceful well organized lot of temples with one small bathing pond. Even small kids are safe for bathing. As I was alone and not prepared, so I unable to bath. Next time I will do it definitely. Temples of Lord Ganesha, Lord Narayana taking Maa Lakshmi in His lap, Lord Shiva and many more Gods. From Tirupati Central bus stand, any APSRTC non-AC bus will take 20/- for Kapila Teertham. All the buses going for Tirumala will go through Kapila Teertham. But auto asked 200/- for myself and after bargain it settled on 150/-.

It is a small Shaivite temple at the entrance to a mountain cave in one of the steep and vertical faces at the foot of the Tirumala hills, which are part of Seshachalam Hills, where the waters of the mountain stream fall directly into a temple tank. The idol of Shiva is believed to have been installed by Kapil Muni, so Shiva here is referred to as Kapileswara. At the temple entrance is a stone statue of Nandi, Shiva's bull mount. According to popular belief Kapila Muni had performed penance to Shiva at this place. Pleased with the Muni's devotion, Siva and Parvathi presented themselves. The Lingam is believed to be self-manifested. Kapila Muni is believed to emerged from the Bilam in the Pushkarini (Theertham) on to the earth.

The temple’s most captivating features is the majestic waterfall that cascades from the Tirumala hills into a sacred tank within the temple complex. This natural spectacle not only enhances the temple’s tranquil ambiance but also holds religious significance. The temple’s architecture showcases a blend of Chola and Vijayanagara styles, evident in its intricate carvings and towering gopuram. Inside, devotees can find sub-shrines dedicated to deities like Kamakshi, Vinayaka, and Subrahmanya, adding to the temple’s spiritual richness

Lord Narasimha in a tiny cave, Lord Vinayaka, lord Subrahmanya, lord Hanuman, besides others are located in this prestine environment. The water falls is most inviting. But do not use plastics or shampoo/ soap. This place gets missed if you are in a hurry to Alipiri

Had visited this place along with my kids on a weekend. The place is situated on the road with easy accessibility. It is on the way to Alipiri (Thirumala). The gallery was a wonderful place to ignite curiosity of the kids. The entry ticket is Rs 40/- per person. The park located at the entry is lush and very soothing. They had the exhibit of an Aircraft, that's used in the 1970's, displayed in the front park. The gallery had two floors, the Ground floor is filled with rooms especially for "Universe", "Energy", "Atoms", "Accelerators", The exhibits on first floor covers "Senses", "Latest Technological Innovations". Highly recommend kids ( Especially for 6th to 9 th Grade/Standard ); When we went there, luckily there was a 3D show which was scheduled to be displayed. Enjoyed the 3D show along with some school kids. My kids enjoyed a lot. Highly recommend this place for a quick school excursion and also as a meaningful spot to spend quality time with your family.

Worth a Visit – Informative & Engaging The Science Museum in Tirupati is a great place for kids and science enthusiasts. It has interactive exhibits on physics, space, and technology that make learning fun. The 3D shows and planetarium are particularly interesting, offering a good educational experience. However, some exhibits need better maintenance, and a few sections could use more upgrades. The overall experience is enjoyable, but with better upkeep, it could be even more engaging. Still, it’s a good place for a family visit, especially for children who love science. Worth a visit if you are in Tirupati!

Visiting god is more tough and rough here. If you go by walk you'll get free laddu token rather than it you need to have more stamina to walk over the steps. It'll be steep until 1900 steps out of 3550 steps. After than it'll be flat and then road and then last 500 steps will be more steep. Don't buy anything I'm the shops in step coz nothing is original all are duplicates ans will cost more. At Tirupati worst maintanence, no space no good food for the money paid no proper managing no clean toilet except inside the temple the god is decorated like wow.... Just plan before leaving and if you go by walk it takes around 5 to 6 hrs if with family and 4 to 5 hrs if with frnds(only boys).

Even with having a special darshan ticket I was unable to book accommodation even though I tried booking as soon as the slots opened . Bedi Anjaneya temple: Hanuman temple is located exactly opposite to the Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala. It is said that the young Hanuman wanted to leave the Tirumala hills in search of a camel and to stop him from doing so, his mother , Anjana Devi tied both his hands with a “bedi”(cuffs) and ordered him to stay right at the place till she returned.

If you have visited Tirumala then you must have noticed a Hanuman statue on your return to Tirupathi. You will get this to your right side after almost half way. And it’s believed that if you wish for something and tie a bell or a lock , wish will come true. Hence the name Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy. You can even sit there and relax for sometime. What you see in pictures is only the temple , there is lot more space than this. There is no need to take ticket or wait in queue , you can directly go in . I loved the atmosphere there and the rituals.

The temple is dedicated to the god Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu and is referred to as Kalyana Venkateswara. This is the place where Venkateswara with his consort Padmavathi stayed for the first six months of their marriage. The presiding deity of the temple is Venkateswara (a form of the god Vishnu) who is referred to as Kalyana Venkateswara. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Tirupati, Kapila Theertham is a renowned Shaivite temple that captivates visitors with its stunning natural beauty. Named after the sage Kapila Muni, who is credited with installing the idol of Lord Shiva, this sacred site is also known as Kapileshwara. One of its most enchanting features is the waterfall that cascades dramatically from rocky hills into a serene pond nearby, creating a tranquil atmosphere perfect for reflection and reverence.
A Perfect Blend of Natural Beauty & Divine Serenity Visited Kapila Theertham while staying in Tirupati and it was a deeply serene and spiritually uplifting experience. About 3–4 km from the city center, this is Tirupati’s only Shiva temple, and it’s nestled almost directly under a majestic waterfall that cascades into a temple tank—truly a rare sight . The sacred Kapileshwara Swamy idol is believed to be self-manifested and installed by Kapila Muni, making the temple historically and mythologically significant. A grand Nandi statue greets you at the entrance, and the temple complex also includes several sub-shrines for deities like Vinayaka, Subramanya, Kamakshi, and Krishna . The waterfall is the highlight—especially during monsoon and early winter (June to December), when the flow is powerful yet serene. The roar of water, lush greenery, and cool pond make for a meditative, cleansing atmosphere. Devotees often take a holy dip here, believed to absolve sins and bring blessings . The temple is managed by TTD, well-maintained, and operational from early morning until evening. Entry is free, and you can participate in sevas like Abhishekam, Archana, and Ekantha Seva for a nominal fee. Facilities include clean restrooms, changing rooms, and a cloak area for footwear—making it comfortable for pilgrims . The best times to visit are early morning (6–8 AM) or late afternoon (4–6 PM) for pleasant weather, and beautiful lighting for photographs. If you’re there during major festivals like Brahmotsavam, Maha Shivaratri, or Kartika Purnima, expect vibrant rituals and a lively devotional atmosphere .

If you’re visiting Tirupati, Kapila Theertham at night is something you shouldn’t miss. The temple and its surroundings come alive with beautiful decorative lighting, giving the entire place a festive and divine charm. The illuminated backdrop of the waterfall adds a magical aura, making it look almost surreal. The glow of the lights reflecting on the water creates a picture-perfect view that feels peaceful yet captivating. Compared to the daytime, the evenings here are calmer with fewer crowds, which makes it easier to soak in the spiritual atmosphere. Sitting quietly while watching the lights shimmer around the temple and listening to the sound of flowing water is a soothing experience on its own. For anyone who loves serene night views combined with a spiritual touch, Kapila Theertham at night leaves a lasting impression.

OM NAMASHIVAYA Kapila Teertham is a beautiful waterfall located in the Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The waterfall is situated in the middle of a dense forest and is a popular tourist destination in the region. The waterfall is formed by the Kapila River which originates in the nearby hills. The water cascades down a height of about 100 feet into a small pond at the bottom, creating a stunning sight. The pool at the bottom is also a popular spot for tourists to take a dip and relax. Kapila Teertham is also considered a sacred site by many Hindus and is believed to have mythological significance. According to legend, the sage Kapila performed penance at this spot, and the waterfall is named after him. Many pilgrims visit the waterfall to take a holy dip in the pool and offer prayers at the nearby temple. The best time to visit Kapila Teertham is during the monsoon season (July to October), when the waterfall is at its full flow and the surrounding forest is lush green. However, it's important to exercise caution while visiting during the monsoon season, as the roads leading to the waterfall can be slippery and dangerous. Overall, Kapila Teertham is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, adventure enthusiasts, and spiritual seekers alike.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, known here as Kapileswara Swamy, it is the only Shiva temple in the Tirupati region. The sacred waterfall that flows into the temple tank adds divine energy — it’s believed that taking a dip here cleanses sins and brings peace and prosperity. Kapila Tirtha is also considered a very powerful place to perform Pitru Shraddha (rituals for ancestors). Many devotees experience a deep sense of spiritual relief and inner peace after performing these sacred rites here, as the energy of Lord Shiva and the holy water are believed to help liberate ancestral souls and bless future generations. The temple’s peaceful ambiance, the sound of flowing water, and the divine vibrations make it an unforgettable spiritual experience. Visiting during Karthika Masam or Maha Shivaratri is especially auspicious. Clean surroundings, well-maintained premises, and a strong spiritual atmosphere make Kapila Theertham a must-visit for anyone coming to Tirupati — a sacred place where nature, divinity, and ancestral blessings come together beautifully. #Tiruoathi

Nestled atop the sacred Venkata Hill, the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, also known as Tirumala Venkateswara Temple or Tirupati Balaji Temple, is a magnificent spiritual haven that attracts millions of pilgrims each year. This iconic Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. As you approach this sprawling hilltop complex, the towering gopuram invites you into its majestic embrace.
Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Tirumala is one of the most divine and spiritually powerful places in India. The moment you step onto the sacred hills, you can feel an indescribable peace and positive energy all around. The temple’s architecture is magnificent, reflecting centuries of devotion and tradition. The darshan of Lord Venkateswara is truly a soul-stirring experience — serene, humbling, and filled with divine grace. The entire temple premises are well-organized and maintained despite the massive number of devotees visiting daily. The staff and volunteers handle everything efficiently, and the arrangements for queues, prasadam, and accommodation are commendable. The laddoo prasadam is world-famous and absolutely delicious. A visit to Tirumala leaves you with a sense of spiritual fulfillment and gratitude. It’s not just a temple — it’s an experience of faith, devotion, and peace that every devotee should have at least once in a lifetime.

Visiting Tirumala Tirupati Temple was an amazing and peaceful experience. The whole place feels very spiritual, and hearing people chant “Govinda, Govinda” gives you real positive energy. Seeing Lord Venkateswara in person fills your heart with calmness and devotion. It’s a feeling that can’t be explained in words — truly divine. 🙏

Tirupati Temple is undoubtedly one of the most sacred and spiritually powerful places in India. The divine atmosphere and the feeling of being so close to Lord Venkateswara are truly beyond words. However, despite the spiritual bliss, the overall management experience could be much better. The temple premises are extremely crowded, and managing such a huge number of devotees clearly seems challenging. The queue system, especially during peak hours, often feels chaotic and tiring. People have to wait for long hours with very little information or guidance from staff. Another major issue is the lack of basic amenities, particularly food options for families with small children. Once you enter the long queue for darshan, it becomes almost impossible to find suitable food or milk for babies, which makes the wait even more difficult for parents. Cleanliness and crowd control also need more attention. With proper management and better facilities for devotees, the experience could be far more peaceful and comfortable. Overall, while the temple’s spiritual energy is unmatched, the administrative side needs significant improvement to match the devotion people bring here.

I have opted for Srivani Darshan, for which you need to pay ₹10000/- per head as a donation, as a donor benefits we will be getting Srivani Begingn break Darshan. Here, apart from donation we need to pay ₹500/- as darshan entry ticket, if you want you can opt accommodation which costs ₹1000/-. Total cost = 10000 (donation) + 500 (darshanam tkt) = 10500/- I have been with my family of 4 adults 1 infant. No charges for infants and child upto 12years. For any details you can visit the official portal. Senior citizen with disability: My father he is 71, and with paralysis complaint, for which they allowed my father to sit near the vigilance point, the entry point at main gopuram. I have got scanned my dad's Aadhar and ticket, they will write on top of ticket to allow which we need to show to the vigilance officer at the entry. They will allow them directly from main gopuram itself. Darsanam details: For us reporting time is at 7:15am at VQC 1, the regular scans and checks are done, crowd is moderate. After that, they allowed us to sit in queue complex room for almost 45mins, until all srivani donors for that slot are scanned. Then they allowed us for darsanam. Lord Venkateswara swami darsanam was amazing, goosebumps moments. They allowed us till 6th gadapa or door. There's only one door between us and main diety. They offered banana prasadam, teertham, haratji right infant of lord. Once darsanam is done, near dwajasthambam they given chakkera pongali as prasadam. Overall it's an amazing feeling I can say.

I personally recommend going to the temple with a person who already visited there makes a whole lot more difference because if you are visiting there for the first time you will have no idea where the laddu counted, token counters, restroom will be located as each one of them will be in a completely different route and you would have no idea where its located As I visited on a public holiday I thought I would have to wait atleast 1day to get darshan but we collected our token at 10am and our darshan was over at 2pm (sarva darshan) The main problem in the temple inside and outside is bribe like for everything they ask money and they won't do their job until you have given them a satisfactory amount
Keerthi C — Google review
Though there are organized queue from entry. Some places it's not managed well especially for people with infants it's surprise why in few areas queue is not controlled so that devotees can worship properly. The banana leaves served for the lunch can be cleaned in a properly.Food is good overall very clearly maintained if authorities can correct the queue correctly it's a great place to worship.

The museum aims to preserve and promote cultural artifacts and history related to the temple, offering visitors a deep understanding of religious practices, art, and architecture defining Tirupati's spiritual landscape.
(Visited in 'Jan 2022) - Sri Venkateswara Museum on Temple Art, Tirupati, located next to Sri Govindarajaswamy Perumal temple is a treasure trove of temple art - a place which I loved and was lost at! In various exhibits related to Sculpture, Aagamana Sastras, Art etc, painstaking and hitherto unknown details were explained brilliantly! Spent at least an hour here. There's no fee charge to visit this. There's a separate temple on the premises dedicated to Nammalzvar. ❤️

Srivari Mettu, also known as the alternate pathway to Tirumala, is a popular route for devotees and visitors heading to the Venkateswara Temple. This pathway, which consists of over 2000 steps, offers a well-developed and relatively easy climb through picturesque countryside at the foothills of the Seven Hills.
Climbing to Tirumala – A Peaceful and Memorable Journey Recently, I had a wonderful experience climbing to Tirumala, one that will stay with me for a long time. The serenity of the hills, combined with the spiritual atmosphere, made the journey incredibly fulfilling. I took one of the two main footpaths leading to the sacred Tirumala temple. Interestingly, the path I chose had very few shops or rest points, allowing for a quiet and focused ascent — just me, the steps, and the surrounding nature. It felt like a truly personal and meditative journey. On a previous visit, I had taken the other route, which is lined with shops and stalls selling snacks, drinks, and devotional items. That path is lively and more commercial, offering plenty of opportunities to rest, eat, and shop along the way. While both paths lead to the same divine destination, the experiences they offer are quite different. Whether you're seeking a quiet, spiritual trek or a more vibrant and social climb, Tirumala has something for everyone. For me, this recent climb without distractions gave a deep sense of peace and connection — an experience I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the holy hills.
Jagankumar E — Google review
It was a wonderful experience climbing with so many people of all ages. The steps are well laid and the best part is along the route it is totally guarded with railings. Drinking water points and toilets were available in plenty. You also have a choice to deposit your luggage and collect it later. Go slowly by taking rest in between, hydrate properly and don't forget to carry your food ( if required). Everyone should experience this at least once in life time .. Om Namo Venkateshaya.

One of the two pedestrian paths to reach Tirumala from Tirupati, it is an absolutely divine experience to climb these stairs to reach the Lord’s abode. Nestled in thick woods, and very well maintained by TTD, I was able to reach the top within 55 minutes, thanks to the love and devotion for the Lord in the heart, and more importantly the strength he gave. There are a decent number of small stalls and hawkers who sell food and drinks on the way, and there are small shrines dedicated to the Lord on the way. The stairs are mostly covered from the elements and for those interested in the token, it scanned around halfway in the 2,388 step way, around the 1200th mark. One can breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the amazing hike up to the most holy place on earth. I highly recommend it for an exceptional spiritual experience, it makes one feel very close to Lord Narayana.

Srivari Mettu is a peaceful walking path to reach Tirumala. It starts from Srinivasa Mangapuram and has around 2,400 steps. The way is clean, quiet, and full of trees and fresh air. It is not very crowded, so you can walk slowly and peacefully. There are places to sit, drink water, and rest on the way. You can also hear people chanting God's name, which feels very special. This is a good way to go to Tirumala if you like walking and want a calm experience. A very nice and spiritual place to visit.

The best time to visit Kapila Teertham is during the monsoon season (July to October), when the waterfall is at its full flow and the surrounding forest is lush green. However, it's important to exercise caution while visiting during the monsoon season, as the roads leading to the waterfall can be slippery and dangerous. A Perfect Blend of Natural Beauty & Divine Serenity. Visited Kapila Theertham while staying in Tirupati and it was a deeply serene and spiritually uplifting experience. At the heart of the temple is the sacred idol of Kapileshwara Swamy, believed to be self-manifested (Swayambhu) and installed by the sage Kapila Muni himself. This lends the temple immense mythological and historical significance. A grand Nandi statue stands guard at the entrance, welcoming devotees into the peaceful temple complex. Inside, you'll also find several sub-shrines dedicated to deities like Lord Vinayaka, Subramanya, Kamakshi, and Lord Krishna, adding to the spiritual depth of the place. 📍Location & Visitor Reviews • The temple is situated along the route to Papavinasanam, approximately 5 km from the main Tirumala Venkateswara Temple . • Though some sources mention an address in Karvetinagaram (~45 km from Tirupati), this specific Venugopala Swamy Temple near Papavinasanam is a well‑known small shrine within the Tirumala area itself . • According to reviews on Tripadvisor, the temple is peaceful and beautifully maintained, with a serene ambiance amid natural surroundings and nearby stalls selling devotional items and refreshments . • Reviewers consistently highlight its “divine” aura and recommend it as a must‑visit while in Tirumala. Best to avoid it with children when heavily crowds, as some mention it gets packed at times . ⸻ 🕉️ Historical and Religious Significance • The temple is dedicated to Sri Venugopala Swamy, a flute‑playing form of Krishna, accompanied by his consorts Rukmini and Satyabhama in the sanctum sanctorum . • It is one of the few Krishna temples under TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) administration in the vicinity of Tirumala — daily rituals follow Vaikanasa Agama, and key festivals (Krishna Janmashtami, Brahmotsavams, Utlotsavam, Vaikuntha Ekadasi, Ugadi, Sankranti) are celebrated annually . • Architecturally the original temple had a Dravidian-style layout, with multiple prakaras and halls, though that’s likely to correspond to the Karvetinagaram Venugopala Swamy Temple and not the small Papavinasanam shrine . ⸻ 🛕 Visitor Tips & Experience • Entry: A nominal fee (e.g., ₹2–₹5) may be charged; some reviews note it’s not free and managed by a local Mutt rather than directly by TTD . • Crowd levels: Generally quiet early morning; crowds increase during festival events and holidays. One review cautions that children may find it crowded to navigate . • Ambience & Surroundings: Set amid nature, with steps leading up and shops on approach. Parking and puja arrangements are considered visitor‑friendly . • Combined pilgrimage tip: Since it lies on the way to other landmarks like Papavinasanam or Akashaganga, it’s easy to include in a Tirumala sightseeing route .

As part of the 9-places package tour in Tirumala, I also visited the Venu Gopala Swamy Temple. Nestled in a quiet spot with an old-world charm, this temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna in his flute-playing form. The surroundings were serene, and the temple architecture had a simple yet divine appeal. However, one thing that stood out was the presence of a few saints or mendicants around the temple who seemed to be constantly expecting money from visitors. While it's common at many pilgrimage sites, it did slightly affect the peaceful vibe of the visit. Still, if you're a Krishna devotee or enjoy visiting smaller, less-crowded temples, this spot is worth a quick stop.

A serene slice of history in the heart of Tirupati! (తిరుపతి నడిబొడ్డున చరిత్ర యొక్క ప్రశాంతమైన భాగం!) The Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple is a beautiful and peaceful temple dedicated to Lord Rama, located right in the center of Tirupati town. It dates back to the 10th century and was built by the Cholas, later enhanced by the Vijayanagara kings. The temple’s architecture is simple yet elegant, reflecting traditional South Indian style with its gopuram and finely carved pillars. Stepping inside feels like taking a journey back in time. The idols of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana are awe-inspiring and radiate a divine calm. The temple is very well maintained and not overly crowded, making it a perfect spot for peaceful darshan and quiet reflection. It’s a must-visit if you’re in Tirupati—not just for its spiritual value, but also for its cultural and historical significance. Don’t miss it!

It's an amazing temple, you can see Lord Rama along with Sita mata and Laxmana here. According to history, the main diety idol belong to treta yuga, pranapatishta was done by Jambavantha on the arrival of lord Sri Rama to this place. The idols were so huge almost 6ft tall and looks so lively. You'll be trance for a while after visiting this place. Within the temple there's a small ganesha moorthy which is incarnated on one of the stones in the wall.

SRIKODANDARAMA SWAMY TEMPLE Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple is situated in the heart of Tirupati town. The presiding deities are Sita, Rama and Lakshmana. The Temple is one of the famous and ancient historical temples. It is said about the puranic significance of the place that after defeating Ravanasura, Sri Rama left for Ayodhya taking Sita Devi with him. Along with Sri Rama, Lakshmanamurthy, Hanuman, Sugriva and Jambavanta also left for Ayodhya. It is said that on the way to Ayodhya, Sri Rama stopped here for a while to rest in the area where the present temple is located in Tirupati. Later Lord Rama Sangam (confluence of the Ganga, the Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati, in Prayagraj) in Uttar Pradesh and Haridwar (in Uttarakhand) witness an ocean of humanity during the Vishakha Purnima day. Besides taking a bath in the sacred rivers, the Purnima Tithi is also considered ideal for performing Satyanarayan Vrata or the Puja of the Ishta Devta. The important days of Vishakha masam are Akshay Tritiya, Vaisakha Sukhla Dasami, Vaisakha Sukhla Chathurdasi, Vaisakha Bahula Amavasya, Vishakha Saptami, Maha Vishakham. left for Ayodhya. After that Jambavanta built a temple here and enshrined the deities. In the sanctum sanctorum of the vast temple in the heart of Tirupati, Sri Ramachandramurthy is seen holding the kodanda and arrows in his hands. Unlike usual postures, Sri Sita Devi is seen standing on the right and Sri Lakshmana on the left side. It is remarkable that there is no Hanuman in the sanctum sanctorum. It is said that Hanuman does not exist because of Jambavantha’s enshrinement. Opposite to the temple, on the other side of the road, Sri Anjaneyaswamy is seen in a separate temple.

The temple is serene and peaceful, with beautiful deities and intricate carvings. The atmosphere is divine, and the vibes are truly spiritual. A must-visit for devotees and those seeking solace. The temple's tranquil surroundings and stunning architecture make it a perfect spot for reflection and prayer. Also, a unique feature is that you can take a card and write "Sri Rama Jayam" by filling in the boxes with "Sri Rama" repeatedly, chanting Lord Rama's name, and then offer it in the hundi, which adds to the spiritual experience.

It was honestly a very peaceful experience. The atmosphere was super calm – you could hear the chants and bells echoing, and the whole place just felt really divine. The architecture was beautiful too, especially the carvings and the way everything was maintained.

Nestled about 12 km west of Tirupati, the Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram is a revered spiritual site steeped in history. It marks the place where Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi stayed for six months following their celestial wedding—making it a favored stop for newlywed couples and those seeking divine blessings for marital harmony. The temple is often regarded as an approachable alternative to the Tirumala shrine—especially for devotees who cannot make the climb. Kalyanotsavam (a celebratory ritual) is held daily and is believed to bestow blessings for happy marriages and life partnerships. Originally dating back centuries, the temple was revitalized in the 16th century by Tallapaka Chinna Tirumala Acharya, the grandson of the saint-poet Annamacharya. Since 1967, it has been administered by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and is also recognized as a centrally protected archaeological monument. Annual celebrations like Brahmotsavams and Sakshatkara Vaibhavam are grandly observed here. For instance, Brahmotsavams feature vibrant traditions like Dhwajarohanam (flag hoisting), Anna Prasadam distribution, and cultural programs. Darshan timings: The temple welcomes devotees from early morning (around 5:30 AM) till evening (7:30 PM), with short intervals . Sevas (rituals) are offered at structured timings—like Suprabatham (5 AM), Kalyanotsavam (11 AM), Arjita Brahmotsavam (12:30 PM), and Ekantha Seva (8 PM)—with most services priced modestly (₹10 to ₹500). . Easily accessible by frequent APSRTC buses from Tirupati, travel time is approximately 25–30 minutes. Last but not least, the Prasadam-Dadojjana whish is made of rice and cow milk curd base, balanced by gentle warmth of pepper and ginger, makes it perfect after darshan.
