Watering Hole is a compact pub located in the heart of Shibuya, Tokyo. It is a pioneering craft beer bar offering over twenty-one brews from Japan and overseas. Run by award-winning brewer Ichiri Fujiura, the bar features a nano-brewery inside and knowledgeable staff who can recommend the best beers. The quirky decor, great music, and rotating list of beers make it a popular spot for craft beer enthusiasts.
We loved our visit to Watering Hole. The craft beer choice is great and they also have a wide range of bottles that you can both drink in and takeaway.
We went twice and got the burger both times and it was delicious! Gyoza’s are also very tasty. 🥟
Staff are all really friendly and happy to make conversation.

A wonderful bar offering one of the best selections of Japanese, American and UK craft beers - probably the best range in Tokyo. The food looked good, but we didn't try it and the staff were super friendly too. A must do if you are in Tokyo on the hunt for craft beer.
Fun little craft brewery. A little on the pricy side, but that's normal for the area. Very nice selection and friendly staff (they spoke English to me, if that's a big deal for you). Cool merch as well if you're looking for something local as a souvenir
I always wanted to come here and finally got the chance. The staff absolutely know everything to know about the beers they serve. They updated the menu as they added new beers on tap. Everyone is super friendly. It was not overly crowded even on a Saturday night. Absolutely impeccable. If you LOVE craft beer or even just casually enjoy it, you will have a great experience.
Beer selection was the best we encountered in our visit to Tokyo. Great vibe and just what a beer pub should be.

I’m not often in Shinjuku so when I had the opportunity to visit the Watering Hole on a Wednesday afternoon I couldn’t help myself, especially since I heard a number of home brewers talking about it the weekend before. The venue was comfortable, easy to find, and the beer was delicious. With that being said, damn, it was pricey. ¥1900 yen is a lot for a beer, though that seems to the way of beer in Tokyo.

On the seventh floor, the beer kitchen offers a Western-inspired food menu to pair with their craft beers. We sat on the patio on the first floor, which is somewhat rare for outdoor seating in Tokyo.
The food menu was sneakily delicious.
• The Jalapeño poppers come individually in glass cups with their own dip… insane!! So good.
• The fries sound boring, but pair with the unique in-house sauces!
• Buffalo wings not the type buried in sauce… but also not the mini weird ones often found in Japan.
100% recommend! However, danger if drinking 8% beers at noon like I did…

Great pub with 2 dining area options. We enjoyed the patio which was very nice and relaxing. The beer choices are great and the menu has a great selection.
Quiet patio, good beer, tasty apps. We wanted a place to chill with a beer in a quieter place- this was perfect. Small but solid collection of apps and plates available- full restaurant is on 7th floor.
Stopped by the bar side for a beer since I had time to kill before an appointment. Tried the rose beer which was light and refreshing, not too strong. The staff was friendly and spoke a little English, I didn’t have time to try any food but the options sounded tasty. Seems like they make a lot in house, pickles and kimchi etc. I’d come back to try their other beers and food!
Came for a few beers and a bite with a work colleague on a Thursday early evening around 6pm.
Place was empty - didn't change when we left at 9pm.
We had a few beers (shinjuku pale ale, some hazy session and a hazy ipa) all were decent, food was ok - nothing to write home about but also went well with the beers.
It's pay as you go on first floor (they also have resturant on 7th floor same bldg) which is cash or card.
Overall decent - had a terrace which is nice I guess on cooler month.

What a surprise to have such a wonderful dinner here at the 7th floor “kitchen”. We also liked the IPA and hazy IPA beers at the first floor beer bar but the kitchen restaurant above was beyond highest expectations! The view is great towards the Shinjuku skyscrapers. Delicious appetizers, main courses and desserts! I doubt this kind of a surprise can only happen in Tokyo!
The beer is excellent, very central location, great atmosphere and good service. Didn’t try any food on our visit but tried almost half of the beer menu! Everything was very good and made to high standards. The beer is pricier but you’re paying for craftsmen products.

Lovely little spot, kept coming back here on account of its lovely range of beers and good spirit options. Not to mention the atmosphere is so fun and the staff are lovely-the food is quite alright as well.
Hesitant to give 4 stars because bartender denied allowing me to sample a beer I was interested in. I have never been to a pub or brewery that does not allow you to sample. And this place is pricey. I had two IPS's and Fries for 4,257 yen ($28 USD). Fries were just ok, came with a mustard, cheese whiz, and garlic mayo dips. 4 stars because location and large beer/food selection.
We had a great time at this bar. They serve large variety of original beers, and the decoration was on point. First bar in Tokyo so it has a special spot in my heart ! Loved jt there. Beers are not so expensive. You should give it a try !

Not as cheap as a German city for a flight of beers .. And here they're keen brand. But the black, wheat, lager were amazing. Brown wasn't bad, pale was decent
Amazing little hidden treasure. The menu has almost 40 to 50 craft beers and an English menu is available. Staff is able to speak English as well so ordering is simple. Half a pint (270 ml) is 390 yen, and a full pint (470 ml) is 690 yen. Making it a great deal for craft beers around the world. I got the Coriander Black and I consider it great as a stout. Highly recommended to any weary travellers looking for a place to settle themselves down, enjoy a nice cold pint of ale and be on your way again!

Great selection of Belgian craft beers in Shinjuku. We came at 17:00 opening time, you have to scan the QR code to order on the line app. Everything was fast and efficient. They have a great selection of beers on tap and the food is also very tasty. We had the BBQ chicken and although not your typical American BBQ, it was delicious. Great place to come back when craving Belgian beers

Great craft beer place, one thing to note for the owner to get more business cause I want to help. Was there around 1pm and it stated that it was closed on google maps but when I actually went there it was open but it could also be because it was the Japanese Emperor’s birthday holiday weekend. Anyways great place to chill, the guy who poured my beer was also very nice to point out that the toilet was hidden in the wall, behind the counter seats. Great place to come with friends.
Oh and did I mention? The cheese was on the house! 🔝

Very nice pub with Belgian beer. In sort of an alley close to Shinjuku station. I went on a Monday night and it was not very busy. Pommel frites and mussels were very tasty and went well with the beer. Ordering is by a QR code with an English option. Bartender was very helpful.
Sarah was amazing.she recommended many Belgian beers and entertained us with her stories. The food was spectacular. A big recommendation.
Stumbled in here while waiting for a table at the restaurant next door and ended up dining here instead. The exceptional service from our bartender Sarah drew us in. She was warm, welcoming and had great recommendations for us. We had such a nice time and the food was amazing. Thank you, Sarah!

I really hope the person at the counter wasn’t the owner, because if he was, he should seriously rethink owning a business. And if he was a part timer, he might want to find another job that doesn’t involve customer service. When we walked in, he didn’t greet us or say a single word. He just tossed a QR code and ignored us completely. We were honestly shocked. I’ve never experienced service like this before. very unprofessional and unwelcoming.

Shinshu Osake Mura, located in the Shinbashi area of Tokyo, is a popular and affordable craft beer bar. The name 'Shinshu' refers to the ancient name of Nagano, a major Japanese booze production area, while 'Osake Mura' means alcohol village. This spot offers a wide selection of alcohol at very low prices, with some beers costing less than 300 yen per pint.
A nice place to stand and enjoy locals snacks and drinks from Nagano region, specially if you love the beers from Shiga Kogen. The place is small so you can only stand, no seats, but the snacks and beer and sake comes with affordable prices, lots of local wait in line on weekends to enjoy the place so be prepare for waiting in line if that happen, google translate app is a plus if you cant read Japanese.

Very local drinking place. Standing sake bar with delicious snacks to go with. Frankly speaking I have no idea how they earn money. Each sake is such a big cup (1/4 of a bottle) and it ranges from 300-1200¥!
Note that it closes at 8.30pm so you may want to eat early dinner and drink there. I drank before dinner so it got me too drunk..
Local sake store with mostly local people and some tourists. You can enjoy the sake tasting there or even buy some bottles away. Some famous brands are also offered here (e.g. 信州亀齢), but unfortunately it was sold out on the day I visited. Will definitely come again if I pass by Ginza again next time!
This used to be one of my favorite places to drink. Wonderful retro atmosphere and dirt cheap drinks. But I took some friends here and the vibe was all wrong. Despite being a paid customer, I got yelled at by two of the staff for not drinking in the proper location. Something is different, and while I have a feeling what it is, I’ll just say… this place is no longer the fun spot it used to be.
Nice little standup bar with a good selection of craft beer and sake. They also have a snack menu with some tasy and unusual items on it. The staff is very friendly and helpful and speak some english. I can really recommend a stop here if you’re in to craft beer and/or sake.

Has super cheap craft beers in bottles/ cans you can drink (around 350 ~ 400 yen) and two drafts on tap for 550 - 660 yen.

Only standing drink but absolutely a place to have a few before dinner or a quick one before going home after work.
Cosy atmosphere, hundreds of tantalising choice and among others genuinely tasty sake and traditional light food produced in Nagano, all of which are really amazing. The system is tantamount to that of English pubs; easy and transparent, barring the language.
Very cool space. Heaved on Friday for knock off drinks. Value was outstanding. Loads of sake to try, unfiltered sake anyone? Good beers as well. So much fun.

Goodbeer Faucets is a popular pub located in the lively Shibuya area, offering a wide selection of over forty draft beers from Japanese, American, and European breweries. The menu features house beers like the fruity MONSTER IPA, GBF GYARU BLOND with tropical mango aroma, traditional British-style SMOKE PUMP STOUT with a deep smoky flavor, and the light and fruity GBF YUZU DREAM.

Awesome find in the heart of Shibuya! Great selection of Japanese beers and international beers. The interior is cool and clean. The food menu is also good with unique stuff like duck ham! Highly recommend it if you're interested in the more artisan beer scene of Japan!
Good selection of Japanese and international craft beer, around 40 on tap as they say. Prices are typical for craft beer in Japan. The service is good, nice ambiance and good music. I'd come other times if I have the chance. Well located in Shibuya, not far from the station and with several options for food around. Haven't tried the food at the beer, so can't comment if it's worth t.
The staff can speak English and was able to give good recommendations. The beers were good though I thought they were a bit on the pricy side. The good was really good and I highly recommend them.
They also have tvs around the bar area, so if you go during sports events, (especially when Japan is playing) you will be able to cheer alongside other customers.

Craft beer is established in Tokyo, and though it hasn't fully reached its stride, you have options. This should be one of the stops you make.
There are plenty of beers to choose from from several counties ... and most importantly, lots of Japanese brews. (If you must go American or German, there's some options here as well.)
The atmosphere is energetic and you won't feel weird having a loud conversation here. (Which is sometimes a rarity here in Japan.)
If you need English, you won't have a problem here (but try some Japanese ... it's a brilliant language!). Menu and staff are English accessible.
The food is a little limited - and has a Mediterranean/Israeli bent - but it's great for enjoying a pint or two.
Just get to the corner, look over the Family Mart and come up for a drink and great time.

Our group were quite enjoyed tasting several beers there. Food was pretty much great but not quite sure if it worth the asking price. Not many options available.
Acess is quite far from Shibuya station around 15-20 minutes walk.
Great beer selection, also a few cask beers available for a choice for those seeking for such kind of beer (like i’m, haha). It’s possible to find a table for a group of three people at Friday evening that is really great. Music is also good.
However wagyu steak is much better looking than tasting - that is really sad, not recommended.

Located in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo, DevilCraft is a Chicago-style pizza restaurant that also serves as a craft beer hub. With over 20 beers on tap, including their own brews and international selections like the New Belgium La Folie, it offers one of the best craft beer selections in Tokyo. The deep-dish pizzas are authentic and mouthwatering, making for a perfect pairing with the diverse beer options available.
We made a reservation online and were seated as soon as we got there. Our pizza was made to order and it was really good. We really enjoyed having dinner here. We also grabbed some fries that were nothing special but the pizza made up for it. The staff were courteous and friendly. This is a family, foreigner and child friendly restaurant. With English menu available. The pizza was enough for 3 adults. Would come again. For an 8 slice pizza, 3 can sodas, and an order of fries we paid around $60 dollars.

In town for a week with my son and needing a little taste of home. Saw deep dish pizza and had to give a try. Overall really enjoyed the food especially the cold cider on tap. This place reminded me of a bar in college where you would spend time with your friends. Good food, good drinks and watching the staff interact put a smile on my face.
Stopped by on recommendation from a friend of a friend on a recent trip to Tokyo. Phenomenal pizza and drinks. Awesome, friendly staff. Enjoyed chatting it up with them at the bar. Ordered the Abe Froman and In the Key of Lime in the Coconut. Enjoyed it so much I went back the next night for a couple more drinks. They offer three of their brews to go in cans, and I bought several to bring back home to the US for family and friends.
The bartender the second night let me know that they were actually on their last keg of In the Key of Lime and they wouldn't have it again for awhile. Make more soon! Will absolutely come again next time I'm there.

Excellent bar with a wide range of their own beers and food available. Pizza being a speciality.
When busy it can take a bit of time to get the server's attention, but it is well worth any small wait. The fact it was busy a lot of the time speaks volumes.
Will definitely be visiting again when in Tokyo.
Was able to book at 5pm tonight because it was one of the last bookings left. I suspect when it is packed the atmosphere reaches a 5, but for us it was a little subdued early on.
I’ve been to the Gotanda DevilCraft but this is my first time at this one. The pizza is amazing and the wings are so so good! Staff are lovely and although it might be a little tough to get in or to get a booking, it’s well worth the wait!!

Everyone knows this is one of the best places in Tokyo to get Chicago style pizza. The waffle fries are great! Selection of pizzas also great. Would like to see more lagers and Sours in the tap list.
Good pizza, wings and onion rings but prices have definitely gone up a lot in recent years. The small size pizza is a waste of money for what you get. If you order pizza, get the regular size and take any home that you are unable to eat. Devil Craft original beer is ok for the most part, but I wish they had more imported beers on the menu or at least some cans to buy.
What A Top-Tier Experience at DevilCraft Hamamatsucho デビルクラフト浜松町
Out of the three DevilCraft restaurants I’ve visited, Hamamatsucho stands out as the best. The spacious layout is perfect for groups, and it truly enhances the social atmosphere that pairs so well with their signature Chicago-style pizza and an impressive selection of craft beers. The environment is welcoming, offering plenty of room to relax and enjoy a meal without feeling cramped—a feature that is often lacking in similar establishments.
What truly sets this location apart, however, is the staff. Their friendliness and attentiveness made the experience even more enjoyable, adding a personal touch that elevated our time there. If you’re looking for a spot to gather with friends, indulge in hearty pizza, and explore great beers, DevilCraft Hamamatsucho is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Two Dogs Taproom, located in Roppongi, offers a laid-back atmosphere and English-speaking staff that will make you feel like you've been transported to Northern California. The bar features an impressive selection of craft beers from around the world, including favorites like Lagunitas IPA and Goose Island 312, as well as local brews such as Pharoah Smoke Porter and Hitachino Nest White Ale.
Easy to find in the pleasant neighbourhood of Roppongi. Good split level set-up with quite a decent range of craft beers and other assorted goodies.

You have to take stairs to get to the entrance (2F.) Not sure if they have an elevator.
There is also an upstairs area accessible by a spiral staircase.
Bathroom is a step up, so not barrier-free.
There is a great selection of craft beers, and the price is similar (if not slightly lower) than other craft beer bars in Tokyo.
They have a page of Japan beers and a page of (mainly) USA beers.
The beers are available in Small (200 ml), Medium (360 ml), or Large (US PINT). The Large is about ¥1,300 for the Japanese ones and ¥1400 for the US ones.
The food menu is mostly customizable pizzas, various bar starters, and a handful of mani dishes. It’s probably best to just get some pizzas and appetizers to share as a group.
On a weeknight, the vibe was pretty casual and laidback, not rowdy.
Service was okay. Friendliness depended on the worker. Overall seems like a good place to get your night started on the weekend.
A great beer place (did not try the food) where they have many domestic craft beers on draft, as well as imported from USA. Majority are IPAs but there are a few really good lager/pilsner and ales.
Great place to visit. I'm a little more of a fan of the thin crispier style pizza but good selection of beer.
Staff are friendly, lots of seating. Large selection of beers and cocktails. The pizza is large and pretty good. They serve ranch dressing on the side. The chicken wings are great. They have three different flavors. The shrimp ajillo was ok, as were the onion rings. I'll be back.
Looking for a pizza/craft beer place in Roppongi? Looks around no more as the pizzas here are wonderful 😊! It is not too easy to get in as this place is busy, but you won't regret your stay. Might be a bit expensive for a normal nomikai with heavy drinkers, but otherwise, you will end up with a normal price for high quality food and drink ^^

I heard the owner of this taproom came from Seattle but I couldn't find any Taps of Seattle. :-)
Overall line up of beer is pretty good means very balanced, and dishes are matched with beers as well.
One thing I'm not comfortable is smoking is permitted.
I ordered one glass of grapefruit which took multiple reminders and 30min to reach the table. I ordered a pizza with no cheese - in addition to a bunch of others - and they brought out one with 2 types of cheese. I was told then that all their pizzas have cheese and we were forced to take it. Guess who's not coming back.

Great beer bar! They make a wide variety of beer "cocktails", many of which are not that strong. The in-house photo chips and hotdogs also taste great! The 2nd floor window seats offers a decent view of the streets below. There are only a limited number of seats, so either make a reservation in advance by email or come early!

Mikkeller Tokyo is such a vibe. It’s got that dimly lit, effortlessly cool bar vibe that says “we serve IPAs and existential crises”. I tried IPA No 14 and 20 and they were both banging, like really good. Was fully ready for round three but had to remind myself I’m not trying to get tipsy-lost in Tokyo.. 10/10 would def go back. This is a great bar situated near the edge of the red light district in Shibuya. We came during a party on a Friday night so it was pretty busy.
But we were able to order - they have a gluten free beer - straight away and drank while standing out on the street. Which was a fun way to people watch and see the world go around you.
The staff also spoke great english so it’s super easy to order.
And as a symptomatic celiac I felt perfectly fine after having that gluten free beer.

Great place to hang out, listen to music, and drink imported Danish craft beer. There’s a big open window they open when it’s not raining for people to sit and socialise on. Lots of Izakayas nearby to eat and drink once you’re done here.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Snacks like crisps and hotdogs are also available.
Prices are on the higher side (1500 yen for a beer), but it’s a pleasant change from all the Kirin and Asahi you’ll be having here in Japan.
Having visited Mikkeller in Copenhagen and London, the novelty of trying it in Japan was strong. It feels like a hidden secret tucked in the backstreets, and on a warm night with all their doors open, it was full of life. Love that they localise the tap selection so much, with a number of Japanese brewers. Merch and branding were on point and the place had enough Mikkeller charm to know where you were but still felt inherently Japanese.
I’ve tried Mikkeller in other cities, and as expected, their selection of beers never disappoints. Mikkeller Tokyo is no exception, offering a great variety of taps to choose from.
The layout is pretty cool too. Downstairs, there’s an open area that feels casual and inviting. Upstairs, the vibe shifts to a more minimalist décor, with both small and large tables, making it great for groups or a more intimate setting. The dim lighting creates a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for hanging out with friends and enjoying some great drinks.

Coaster Craft Beer & Burgers is a trendy craft beer pub that opened in early 2019 in the vibrant neighborhood of Shimokitazawa. This chic drinking den combines the popular trends of Himalayan craft coffee and a wide range of local and international craft beers. Founded by a team of French expats, it has quickly become a community hub where friends gather over thoughtful drinks and food.
I’ve eaten a lot of burgers around the world and these are top 10 lifetime. I would have never expected that while exploring a little outside of Tokyo. The burgers are perfectly cooked and balanced. Fries are done very very well. And the beer options from Kaigan are just so so good. Went here a few times and can’t wait to come back.

It can be a good place to relax at, and have a bite, after exploring the streets of Shimokitazawa.
On the positives, the burger was very good. Super juicy and had a full, nice taste. There's also a selection of craft beers on tap, although not huge (and it was also missing clearer styles like Pilsener/Helles).
On the negatives: It's expensive, especially the beers. You pay too much for just a small glass, in my opinion. (But unfortunately that's generally the case for most craft beer places in Tokyo)
Also, after your visit, your clothes might smell a bit of the oils/burgers that they are cooking in the open kitchen, so be aware of that when you go in.
Terrible customer service, overpriced pours, cockroaches, but good food.
We came for a second visit on a Thursday night, but wish we hadn't. The bartender made this experience truly awful and you could tell their heart is simply not in the job. No welcome, no thank you, blunt responses, and stood constantly on her phone behind the bar. Despite causing excessive wastage down the drain whilst pouring, she somehow then only poured a clearly unacceptable 4/5th of an already expensive "large" size stout and when I asked for it to be topped-up she told me "that's how it comes because the head went down". Surely this is not Kaigan Brewery's policy? I worked in cocktail/craft beer bars for over 10 years and have been to dozens of craft beer bars all over Japan and never felt the standards of service was this low before. Serious staff training is needed here.
So our visit was already regrettable when our burgers arrived, which were actually very good and super tasty. HOWEVER, as we are eating, a cockroach crawled up the wall next to our table by the sofas. It's really hard to enjoy any bar when customer service is very poor and the hygiene standards are questionable.
We won't be returning here and I might go as far as to avoid Kaigan's beers from now on in other places. A real shame as I enjoyed their recent article in the Japan Beer Times which is what reminded me to visit Coaster again.
AMAZING Smashburger!!! The crispy cheese skirt is unlike anything I've ever had before, but it might be my favorite way to have a burger... Fries are also pretty solid. Perfectly fried and salted!
The craft beers recommended to me are also always pretty good. I can't say much about it, as I'm not normally a beer enjoyer.
Stopped in for a couple of pints while exploring Shimokitazawa, so glad I did. Loved this bar and the staff were so nice and friendly, the beer was amazing as well.
Best burgers in Shimokitazawa, if not Tokyo. Each burger is crafted to perfection and dripping with flavor. Fries are double fried and served with homemade sauces. Plus there are vegetarian and vegan options available too. Highly recommend the smash burger.
Very tasty bacon cheeseburger. The flavor was great. Unfortunately the ratio was off. The second half of my burger it started to fall apart and ended up a sloppy mess. The quality of the bun was good but all the topping caused it fall apart. Service was very friendly and fast. The coffee was also really good. Despite my problems with the burger I would come back if I were in the area.
Super tasty burgers, friendly staff who speak English, Japanese and French, and an excellent selection of 15 craft beers on tap. Comfy couches make it a great place to relax as a group or a couple and enjoy the food and beer. Definitely my favourite in the area, can’t wait to go back!

Titans Craft Beer Taproom & Bottle Shop is a collaboration between beer importers AQ Bevolution and Beer Cats, offering a rotating selection of 10 beers on tap, including Japanese guest beers. Prices for drinks start at 700 yen for a goblet and 1,300 yen for a large 700 ml Titan tankard. The venue also features a 50-seat comedy room and offers eight craft beers curated by Titans.
The best beer lounge I've been to in Japan. I really enjoyed the Gyoza (Buffalo flavor!), fascinating beers (spicy, sweet, IPAs, fruity, etc..). The loft is great and everyone is very kind. I will be back!

Medium sized craft beer bar in operation for 7 years. Interesting indie atmosphere but cold service unless you are a regular.
Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Sat at the half full bar as no guidance was given by the staff. My beer was served quickly with payment required after the order. Electronic payment methods were accepted.
Heavy metal and indie hip-hop played in the background. Art in various styles decorated the walls. The doors were wide open, lending themselves to people watching on the busy pedestrian street.
The beer wasn't cheap but /was/ absolutely delicious. The menu focused on USA beer with a couple from the UK and Japan.
Regular customers (or staff friends?) kept stopping by and being warmly greeted. The rest of us got barely a word from the bartenders. Maybe I caught them on a bad day? The beer was so good I'll give them another chance.
Recommended for anyone looking for great craft beer in the area.

Fantastic rotating selection of great beers on tap, and a massive fridge selection. They import as well as brew their own.
A great building with 1st floor bar, mezzanine loft space (great for dates, kids, anything!), and a wide 3rd floor space with tables.
They also offer a massive "Titan's Size" which is d*mn near an entire liter of beer. Great cost performance on that one.
Food is delicious bar fare and doesn't cost a million yen.
Staff is wonderful, fellow customers are wonderful. Most down-to-earth and reasonably priced craft beer bar in all of Tokyo.

I had a good time here. Came with with work around 10 people and was on the second floor. Liked it because we were the only people there and could enjoy beers on a Friday night as a group.
They have a unique beer selection so that was good as you get to explore beers which you don't see in normal pubs.. but extremely ipa focused, good if your a ipa lover.
Food wise they do mainly gyoza and simple stuff. What was cool is that you could being your own food. So the drunker we good the more people went out and bought chips etc.
Recommend if you in for a craft beer in a quiet atmosphere in Otsuka
It's a nice bar with couple of Japanese guest beers, but mainly American import on tap. Usually 800 to a 1000 yen for a smaller glass. The upper floors offer more seating than the first glance shows. The staff knows their beers, but it stops about there. If you are okay with being on your own this is the bar for you. If you want a bit of atmosphere or "warm" customer service you better look somewhere else.
Also, it's hard for wheelchairs to enter.
I hope they improve and learn from Devil Craft or Baird beer. Good luck!
Absolutely amazing selection of beer here! Cans, bottles, and tap beer. The bar manager is from Wisconsin and knows his beer very well. They have multiple levels for a more relaxed experience of that's what you're looking for.
The gyoza comes from Utsunomiya, which is known to have the best in Japan. This is a great place with an awesome atmosphere.

Craft Beer Server Land Akasaka-mitsuke is the second branch of a friendly and laid-back restaurant chain. Tucked away in the basement of a large building, it offers a classy yet relaxed atmosphere, making it suitable for various occasions from first dates to casual drinks with colleagues. The extensive beer menu and diverse food options cater to both meat-eaters and vegetarians, while the knowledgeable staff are eager to provide beer recommendations.
So happy we came here! I can’t comment on the food as we only came for beer, but this spot is a gem. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and I recommend getting a beer flight so you can try as many as possible.
It’s an interesting atmosphere with a mix of decorations and a funny name, but the beers we tried were lovely and the food we saw at other tables looked great too. I recommend!

It has a blink, and you can miss it sign if you are just walking past. I found it on Maps to be honest, when looking for a bar to have lunch. Glad I tried this.
Had an English menu handed to me on entry, with lunch time specials and all their beers too. Had the lunch special Mixed mincemeat ‘Spice’ Curry. It was nice, I enjoyed it. Could’ve been a bit spicier, but it was a still pleasant. I think from memory it was 1000 Yen, I really should take pics of my receipts more.
Now the beer, I’m not sure if it was because it was a Tuesday and maybe they were changing it up, there were quite a few beers off. Don’t get me wrong, still a lot to choose from, but it was a shame. I opted for a large Mango Lager, was refreshing and needed as it was 30c outside. I would’ve liked to have a flight of pilsners. Still, the Mango lager was very good. Was unfortunately the only one I had time for.
Staff themselves, were great, friendly, decent grasp of English. Very welcoming, and everyone there seemed well looked after.

Let by no means the name deceive you: “Craft Beer Server Land” is more than a venue offering a large array of fine beers.
It is a rare thing in Tokyo: a restaurant that offers plenty of options to vegan and non-vegan diners alike! The idea of diners of various gastronomical or ethical persuasions gathering over good beer and meals that satisfy each of them is thoroughly charming, I dare say.
Location: only 1~2 minutes on foot from Akasaka-Mitsuke station, 5~6 minutes from Akasaka Station. From the outside the venue does not stand out, and one must go down one flight of stairs or take the elevator to reach it. There are plenty of tables (rather high ones, with stools, and convenient little boxes under the tables to store handbags or coats).
Staff: a small crew of young Japanese gentlemen that are evidently ready and pleased to please their customers: most dependable lads, if you ask me. They are a bit on the shy side: but then again, they are young.
Food: the restaurant offers plenty of commendable vegetarian, vegan, or classic options. For instance, they offer “karaage” friend chicken in both soy meat and chicken versions.
Half the menu is vegan in every domain, actually : entrees, mains and desserts. A vegan lunch set, for instance, features a salad, a light vegetable broth, a pair of vegan curries, with vegan toppings as an option, and even a pair of vegan desserts (the vegan pistachio pound cake is rather remarkable).
The dinner menu offers, of course, many more options.
Drinks: there is a free bar for water, tea and coffee; however the venue’s specialty is its wide range of beers: they take an entire menu. Other beverages, alcoholic and soft, can be ordered.
Atmosphere: Both cozy and cheerful with plenty of greenery, and the kindness of the hosts is a decisive factor indeed!
Recommended for: groups of friends or colleagues, single diners who like being surrounded by cheerfulness
Stopped by at lunchtime for a couple beers and shade after accidentally finding myself in Akasaka for the first time. Located in the basement although nice enough decor. Mostly just lagers but there are a few other IPA options at the back of the menu and Y Market of course did not disappoint. Unfortunately I had already eaten, but the lunch menu curries I saw others eating looked decent. If I ever have to return to Akasaka I might visit here again.
I’m so happy they have vegan options! So many options and they’re delicious, it’s just a shame because I feel like over time, the dishes are getting smaller and more expensive. ¥2,000 for the pizza feels way too much, and the dessert is small and average considering the ¥7-800 price (the pistachio pound cake was very hard and dry). I think if I go again I’ll only drink beer, and have my meal somewhere else.
Highly recommended for those who are interested in Japanese craft beer!
Inside the store, many as 30 types of Japanese craft beer are connected by taps. 473ml is 890 yen, 270ml is 550 yen, and the drink comparison set is 2,100 yen for 4 types of 180ml.
The food is vegan and non-vegan. I ordered the soy milk cheese and garland chrysanthemum salad, and it was so delicious!
The store is stylish, clean, and spacious, and can be used by a variety of people. In addition, Wi-Fi is also connected. It is in a great location, close to the tourist attractions of the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, Toyosu, and Shinjuku.
Cozy little place in Akasaka on the basement floor. They serve vegan options as well. Tried the vegan pizza and tasted average. The cheese had a strange taste. The eel fish and chips was great. Bit oily but very crispy. The vegan chilli fries was really good but a nice spice to it. Coming to the beers: wide selection and they can customise to your liking. Loved their dark beer and their home brewed version was bit on the bitter side. The staff were friendly and nice. Would visit again to try more of their beers!
They have a great vegan menu for lunch - just as many options as the non-vegan menu. The vegan curry (gobo and mushroom) was great. They have water and tea for free that you pour yourself as well which was nice. I’d like to come back for dinner some time.

Located in the upscale Daikanyama neighborhood of Tokyo, Spring Valley Brewery is housed in a spacious former warehouse and stands out as one of the largest urban breweries in the city. Guests can observe the brewing process through large glass panels while enjoying a selection of craft beers. The brewery offers a diverse lineup including options like the crisp and bitter 496, the rich After Dark, and Jazzberry infused with raspberry juice.
I cannot begin to describe how this place intrigued and amazed me with their selection of beer and food. This restaurant offers craft beers with different tastes, as well as guest taps that rotate from time to time. The menu is full of food and appetizers that are made specifically for their beers. The minced pork appetizer I ordered really surprised me with how rich it tastes. The portion is unexpectedly enough for two people to enjoy. I haven't had beer as refreshing as theirs in a long time. 10/10 would definitely bring friends here in the future. The overall vibe of the restaurant was immaculate too.

The "After Dark" beer had a unique and great taste. Also, the bartender (her name might be Matsuri, can't remember exactly) was very nice and attentive to us, even though she was working so hard. These are the only reasons I'm rating it 3 stars, otherwise I'd go for 2.
Other staff, especially the ones on the welcoming counter, were a bit rude, and we felt a few signs of racial discrimination in their behaviour. Moreover, they told us that we have 2 hours max to sit which was a bit awkward.
Now the worst part. From the bar counter, we could see the kitchen on the left and there was a young chef guy mass preparing snacks in tens of small bowls. He was picking something from a bigger container with his hand, putting it in the bowl and then licking his same finger, then wiping it on his clothes and then continues the same cycle. Thankfully, we did not have any of the food he prepared.
Also, the food (the chicken skewer thing) had small portion.
Unfortunately, the place is quite overhyped. The dish serving is quite small (even by Japanese standards).
The motsunabe is ridiculously salty, while the potato salad with roast beef slices (starter) had really only 2 tiny slices of beef and one small ball of potato salad. The black chicken kaarage is quite overbattered. I mean, how can you go wrong with Japanese kaarage, well apparently you can.
Have had better beer elsewhere. Not sure if it is a batch to batch problem, but my 496 beer wasn't comparable to a very fresh Sapporo draft.
If you want to pop by, do have a reservation as it can take upwards 30mins to get a seat without one. I did note that

The food quality varies depending on your order. The stewed intestine were TOO SALTY. Some of the batter of the kaarage was undercooked. The sausages and cedar salad were the saving grace.
The craft beer was fresh and fantastic. It was my first time trying a beer served with only foam on top, and it was surprisingly good. The atmosphere was great, and the light dishes that go with the beer were also really tasty. I wish I had the chance to try all the different kinds of beer!
I’ve been coming here for for so long and love the location. Such a great space, and one of the few places inTokyo where the outside seating is off the main road, away from the traffic and the air is clean. There are so many things going for this place. The food is great, ( the beer is at best meh), but I keep coming back because of the location. But I’ve had it with this place, the staff are just dreadful. Is it because I’m a man, is it because I’m a gaijin? I don’t know, but having watched my friends have beer poured on him by staff who pretended not to notice(I watched you check!), then after talking in Japanese with staff all afternoon have a phone thrust in my face with the google translation telling me to my time is up (in a near empty bar). Do I really want to come back? I could go for better beer, food and atmosphere at the Smokehouse in Omotesando or just the best beer at Futako Brewery, but I’d rather you just sorted it out and treated your customers with respect. Omotenashi nashi! Complained to the manager, maybe the first time ever in my life, and he was great. what a hero, but sort it out! I walk away disappointed with an empty wallet every time.

Great beer and food for relatively competitive prices. Well worth the price and highly recommend if you're in the area. For the price of 4600 I had a pizza, a pint of their limited edition beer and their flight package. The staff were very attentive and nice, always checking everything was alright. Also the staffs English is very good I felt very welcomed even though I'm a traveller

The service was exceptional. Perhaps the best I've ever experienced.
The host was very friendly and very helpful. He helped me book a table for an evening after the sumo when I was struggling to book using the online reservation system.
From when the bar opens until 20:00 is 'Happy Hour'. During this time whenever you order a beer with a crown symbol next to it you get a free item of food. All very tasty.
They also show live sumo during the tournament, as well as other sports.

Went with a friend after work. It was busy, but we were seated quickly. The staff are efficient. The menu is a qr code. We ordered several things. Homemade chips, fish & chips, sandwich, and fried onion. The chips were great, ordered a few plates. The fish was nice. The onion was gross; deep fried onion with clumps of batter and panko? in the onion folds. Don't order the fried onion.
We love this place for the food and beer and have been coming here for years and years. It seems they’ve incorporated a digital ordering system from 20 years ago that isn’t helping anyone, causing confusion among the staff and guests while not helping overcome language barriers. Other than that, though, we love it!

Apparently this is the first craft beer joint in Tokyo, I was lucky to have time to visit while on a trip recently. Was quite easy to get to given the train stop is a few blocks away.
Huge selection of beers, 70 on tap! When ordering during happy hour we looked for beers with a crown on the menu that indicated the beer came with a small plate of food. I will say the food was not exciting, more like a snack and was good to make sure we did not get too tipsy with all the beers we tried. Literally all types of brews were represented. For folks from Europe or America, the beers come in smaller sizes so be aware, not pints.
Since one of our party was a local he had ‘membership’ to their club, which I understand is free but did entitle him to a beer tower which we enjoyed.

I have shaky hands, bar tender was very accomodating. Cant beat their beer selection or their free food happy hour. Best craft beer I have found in Tokyo, after two months of sampling. The food is also very good.
Selection of beers is fantastic, happy hour is great food is nice although we only had the small dishes but the service although prompt lacked enthusiasm.

Come for the beer, not so much for the food. With 70 draft selections available, this is a prime location to drink some of the more unique brews in Japan. During their happy hour specials, you can get select beers with a free food item (small portion sizes of some of their menu items). We tried the wings and pork ribs and unfortunately for the price, they were just ok. The beer alone and their happy hour specials though are reason to keep coming back.

I was really surprised to find this place when I was shopping nearby and wanted to take a break from all the excitement. Great food and service, and highly recommend taking a beer flight as all the ones I tried were excellent.
Legit beer and yakitori. Came here on recommendations from both a local Tokyo friend and a friend back in the states while my wife and kids shopped on Takeshita street. To top it off the music playlist slaps.

This place is heaven on earth if you like craft beers and deep dish pizza. Officially my favorite place in Tokyo.
The pizza is delicious and they have a huge variety of homebrewed craft beers. Their stouts are great, their barrel-aged barley wine is DIVINE.
Only caveat: it’s a pretty small restaurant so they fill up quickly and it’s not really meant for families or large groups, although they do offer group plans. Try to reserve ahead of time if you can.

DevilCraft Kanda was a treat. I originally thought I was only coming for Chicago style deep dish pizza, but I was wrong. All the craft brews are fantastic. They also sell their glassware if you're looking for a souvenir to remember your visit by.
I'll be on the lookout for additional DevilCraft sites in my future visits to Japan.

This is a great place to come when you want pizza but not the usual fare. They have pan pizzas, but you come here for the deep dish. We’ve been several times and I was surprised to see I hadn’t reviewed it earlier. They have a nice range of starters and bar bites, a good selection pizzas available in two sizes, and a very large selection of craft beers. Service is helpful and friendly. There are several outlets around Tokyo, so if you don’t happen to be in Kanda, you can check out one of the others. Reservations are recommended though it is possible to do a walk-in if you time it right.
I have been a Devilcraft fan for years, but I only visited the Kanda branch for the first time recently. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they help to create a very cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The food was also delicious, of course! This has definitely become my favourite place to get pizza :]
I've never had authentic Chicago pizza so I can't compare it to anything, but I can say it was really good! I'll definitely go again. I tried one beer and it was also really good.
One of the waiters looked a bit angry and scary and that's why I removed one star, but overall very good.

Yona Yona Beer Works is a popular spot with three locations in Kanda, Akasaka, and Aoyama. It's run by the Wondertable group and serves beers from Karuizawa's Yaho Brewing. The place offers a variety of craft sausages and roast Date Chicken. The brewery-type environment is trendy but not too loud for conversations. The online menu features beer and food pairings, allowing for easy customization of orders.
Wonderful Japanese craft beer restaurant. You can not only enjoy some great craft beers, but also some fantastic food! The roast chicken will take some time, but is a must try! The place was packed so best to make a reservation for a larger group.

Cool bar with roast/fried chicken, snags and snacks. Good range of beers on tap from Yona Yona, my favorite brew in Japan. The French Cassis cocktail went down a treat for the sweet tooth. Miho, our server, was very friendly and helpful with translation and special request. Well worth a visit and a great relief from the crowds above!
We had a great meal here. All of the food was great - truffle, spicy curry and squid ink sausage, wasabi potato salad, chicken nuggets, spicy roasted chicken and fish no chips. Beers on tap were tasty also. Would recommend to anyone in the area. Miho was so wonderful as our server! Thanks for taking care of us :)
Big fan of craft beer and breweries back in the states, especially hazy IPAs, so I had to check out Yona Yona Beer Works. Tried their Hazy IPA and their well-known Yona Yona Ale, and both were great.
They have lots of beers on tap and their beer branding is dope - I really liked the illustrations and visuals for each beer. I didn’t get to try the food this time, but I definitely will next time. 10/10 worth a visit

Stumbled into this bar and it turned out to be a very happy night. Good variety of craft beers and bites; the fried gizzards were a must try (sadly didn’t picture, but we ordered twice!). Yona Yona Beer Works is a gem. Stop in for a beer. They have a bunch of options and while their beer is great the food might actually be better. The service was outstanding and friendly.

I found the dry dock quite by accident, walking under the train tracks in a quieter area of Shimbashi.
Located next to a bike parking area it would be very easy to walk straight past this spot and never know it existed.
Naturally it’s nautical, and you can get your first taste of this by peering through the portholes to see if there are any free spots!
Upon entering it is like being in the galley of a ship; it’s tight for space but that’s part of the experience.
I was lucky enough to get a spot at the downstairs stand-up bar and had some good banter with the bar crew; they’ll help you select a beverage that suits your palate.
Really fantastic brews, and a cool tap set-up built into the helm. The Dry Dock rocks!

One of the most unique izakayas I’ve been to in Tokyo. Ot is literally set up as a boat, and if you go upstairs, it literally feels like you’ve been transported out to sea. It’s kinda trippy. It’s worth going just for that feeling, but the good news is everything I tried was fantastic. They are known for their super cold Asahi draft beer, which I highly recommend. Then there is the food. The buffalo wings actually had a nice authentic buffalo sauce, the fried chicken was tasty, and the fried calamari good. But the two clear winners were the mustard pork and the omurice, which I’m already thinking about due my next visit. Service was fast and funny friendly. It’s a small spot so there is a time limit, but I never felt rushed. Add this one to your list for surd.
What a cool little bar based on the theme of a boat, with a clever name. This place is known for their special pour of Asahi Super Dry (as seen in this video), it’s quite entertaining. He pours it with no head first, then nothing but head, then a quick dunk in water to finish it off.
Is there a difference in taste? I did find it refreshing and less carbonated than usual.
Really cool spot to check out if you’re in the area and craving a nice cold beer.
Great little bar in the corner of Shimbashi station. The technique used by the bartender can make a huge difference in how your beer turns out. Highly recommended.

Gorigori Burger Taproom, situated close to Roppongi Hills, is a popular establishment with an American football-themed atmosphere and a diverse selection of reasonably priced craft beers. Boasting 13 taps that feature both imported and domestic brews, including offerings from renowned breweries such as Sierra Nevada and Ise-kadoya, this spot offers an extensive beer menu.
I’ve had some really good burgers in my life. Heck, I’ve had some great burgers. I can say with confidence that Gorigori’s burgers are by far the best burgers in the world!
The staff was super kind and attentive. We walked in with no reservation and they were able to seat us right away. I loved the ambiance of this place. It has a feel of a lively sports bar centered around American Football, which can be hard to find in Tokyo. Everything from the wooden tables, pint glasses, beer taps, jerseys on the wall, and the NFL network on TV made this place perfect.
We ended up visiting this place twice and got to sample a few of their appetizers. Would highly recommend the nachos, smoked cheese, and smoked quail egg specifically (though I bet everything would be top notch). The cheese and eggs were a perfect mixture of smoke and flavor: not too smoky to be overbearing, and still had a good balance of the base flavor. The nachos were exactly what I hoped they would be. The first chip pulled a savory mix of cheese, toppings, and meat. The cheese stretched as if it was straight out of a cartoon, reaching across the table as I pulled a longer and longer strand, which made it taste all the better. Needless to say, all of the appetizers were licked clean by the end of our meal.
Now for the burger. Starting with the patty, the meat flavor was exactly that: meat! No over bearing extra spices to mask the quality of the meat, just a really flavorful chunk of beef that spoke for itself. The texture was also something to highlight. Not too flimsy, not too firm, just right in the middle. Perfectly juicy. By the last half of the burger, some of the contents had fallen apart. As one commenter said, embrace it. It’s the way a proper burger should be. To be quite honest, I was so infatuated with the patty that I almost didn’t realize how good the rest of the toppings were. These were also spectacular in their own way. The pineapple and cheese (separate burgers) perfectly complemented their patties, not taking away from the meat, but also providing a nice accent to the overall flavor. Last but not least, the bun. Again, kind of a Goldilocks situation. Not a super heavy bun to fill you up, but substantial enough to hold to the last burger bite.
We were also lucky to run into the owners. Two of the nicest and energetic people we’ve ever had the pleasure meeting. You could tell they really love their place, and the quality of the food speaks to their passion.
I look forward to returning to Gorigori when we visit Japan next. Great work to the staff for creating an enjoyable atmosphere along with the best burger I’ve ever had.

Hidden away in a declining alley. This restaurant is a winner! Just find the gorilla mascot. This place is a sports bar that is focused on American football. Burgers and tap beer is the way to go.
Very large grind or else they dice the meat by hand. The end result is a very nice mouth feel with these burgers. The best way to describe it is like you put a handful of micro steaks into your mouth. It’s wonderful. On top of that, this place seasons their patties before cooking. At least it tasted like they did. The seasoning is tasty.
The tap beer is also fantastic. I’m assuming they brew their own beers, but unless there is a basement, I can’t see where they would be doing the brewing.
You get handmade fries with the burgers, but you don’t get lettuce, tomatoes, or a pickle. Waste no want not, I guess.
Overall verdict, this place is derisious and yummy! The decor is amusing and though the time differences will make live American football games difficult, this sports themed restaurant is fantastic. I would go again and again for the derisious burgers and tasty beers!
Visited a couple of times now. Tasty dirty burgers and decent craft beer. Interesting vibes. Open and busy on days that other places don't bother to be. One of the very few things good in Roppongi.
We went there at night and it was fairly empty, we ordered using the QR code and our food took afound 15m to arrive.
The nachos were extremely delicious and so were the burgers, we got one gori gori burger, one bacon burger, small nachos and 2 sodas it came up to 6400¥
The original BBQ sauce here is to die for.
My only complaint is that there was an EXTREMELY loud (shouting) group of people seated a few tables over, with no reaction from the staff.

The burger is excellent, fair warning, it is going to implode on itself...embrace it. Getting the grilled cheese was a wise move., helped the bottom bun survive. Ordering is done online, once you figure out how to get it in English, you're on your way. Keep the washcloth they bring you, you're going to need it.
The appetizers were excellent but the burger was just ok. The bacon wasn’t great and the meat wasn’t very well seasoned. The bun was excellent as were the fries. The service was fast and friendly.

Located just a few minutes' walk from Iidabashi station, Hop Scotch serves up craft beer and whisky in a cozy setting with an eclectic range of beers on draught. There are eight taps that rotate through Japanese and American craft beers, as well as decent bar snacks available. The atmosphere is local and intimate, perfect if you're looking for a drink and some good food in Tokyo.
As the name suggests this places serves both beer and whisky. On this occasion I was just interested in a few beers after a bunch of work calls to finish up my day as a digital nomad.
The craft beers here are very interesting, I had the Luplin Tree and Lush IPA and they both certainly lived up to the hoppy hype!
Adorning the walls is all kinds of brewery memorabilia, so there is plenty to keep your eyes entertained and off the phone; the most eye-catching decorations were the mahjong whisky bottle set - first time seeing that.
Would definitely return here for a longer session with company; but without a crew I just had 2.

Local brewery with around 14 standing spots to drink and eat. No seating or tables so don’t come here if you want to sit down. A one man shop so manage expectations. Heavy metal music playing which throws off the vibe a lil.

We had a great time at this tiny little hidden venue yesterday. The barman was very friendly and speaks good English so we were able to chat with him along with two other local patrons. When we first came in around 8:30-9pm there were only three other people there, but it filled up quickly when 10pm rolled in so come early.
Nice selection of local beer. A bit expensive, but we noticed this seemed to be the norm for craft beer in Japan after visiting a few bars in Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima and Nara.
Keep in mind that there are no chairs, only the bar, counters and high tables to lean on, so if you have trouble standing for long periods of time you might not be fully comfortable there.
We definitely made great memories there. Highly recommended!

TAP&GROWLER TOKYO SHIMOKITAZAWA is a specialty beer store in Tokyo that offers a unique experience for beer enthusiasts. They have 18 taps which are exclusively Japanese craft beers and a variety of cans and bottles predominately from international breweries. The growler filling station is exceptionally interesting.

Just a short walk away from the bustle of Shibuya square, this has a relaxed Scandinavian vibe filled with locals. The beer selection is excellent and taco truck serves food (although I didn’t try it). Well worth a visit, and afterwards I recommend a short walk to Fuglen for the true Norwegian experience in Tokyo!
Staff throwing us out 1 hour prior bar closure. Today, Sep 17. Check your staff, they are cleaning the bar, turning on all the lights and throwing everyone's out. Hey, if you are tired and not willing to work, just state it in Google Maps which clearly says you are working till midnight. Very rude and dissappointing considering how much we spent that night. I would not recommend anyone's visiting this bar because of the staff's attitude. Very unfriendly. Sayonara!

Place is really cool, atmosphere is great. It’s so nice to sit outside in the evening, which is not super common in Tokyo. Like many people wrote before, it is quite expensive. But beer options are really interesting and special, which I like. I wish they could do tasting platers. During the weekday evening wasn’t too busy.
The ambience is amazing. They have good selection of craft beers on tap. They have some options for snacks like tacos, nachos, etc. Sometimes there are musicians playing the guitar or the flute which really adds to the ambience. It usually gets quite crowded during the weekends but you will get a seat if you wait for a while.

While it may not be the best choice for those seeking Japanese craft beer, it's a paradise for enthusiasts of American brews. Conveniently located at Shinagawa Station, this spot opens early, making it perfect for grabbing a fresh beer before hopping on the Shinkansen. The ever-changing lineup features top-class breweries such as Southern Tier, Coronado, and Anderson Valley.

The wings are a must try. They are a bit pricey but they have a nice selection of sauces and flavors and they all taste great. They even threw in an extra piece during my last order because they felt some of the wings were small for their standards.
Overall, they price is quite high but for great beers and amazing food it is well worth it.

Was actually on the way to a taco spot when I passed AA and saw they sold tacos and I thought I’d drop in and get a tasty beer with them too. I got the chiptole pork tacos (2P) and I have to say they were delicious. Smoky, more sweet than spicy mind you, bbq pulled pork with guac, salad and salsa in flour tortillas. They were pretty big and stuffed well. I had the coconut Porter with it and it was almost as nice as the tacos! A hint of roasted coconut just at the end so it didn’t over power the beer itself. Really good. Good location under the road at Tokyo station. I’ve been to AA’s place in Yokohama a few times and it’s always a good place to get good beer, if a little on the pricey side. But to indulge once in a while it’s fine.
Craft beer bar with over 14 bar seats and, as expected, a wide selection of craft beers. This review, however, focuses solely on the food. Stopped by at 2 pm with no wait.
I ordered the burger for JPY 1650, which came without any sides, and a single fried fish taco for JPY 900 (it was Taco Tuesday). Condiments, napkins, and other necessities are located at a separate counter near the cash register. Here, you can try a dollop of Sierra Nevada's Porter Mustard or hot sauce.
The burger is quite basic: a thick patty with melted cheese, a substantial slice of tomato, crispy lettuce, and what appeared to be the in-house special sauce. The patty was cooked medium, moist, tender, and flavorful. While it was a good burger, the price is steep, and the absence of fries makes it hard to recommend. However, the porter mustard was an excellent addition to the burger.
On the other hand, the single fried fish taco was packed with fixings, including a well-balanced but spicy pico de gallo that had a lasting heat—I could still feel it 10 minutes later. At JPY 900, this was comparatively excellent value, and ordering two for JPY 1600 would make for a hearty meal.
A cooler of ice water is available for self serve.
The good: Like many before us, we got lost in the labyrinth that is Tokyo Station – but thankfully stumbled upon this hidden gem of a craft beer bar. Antenna America has a cool, American sports bar vibe with high tables, laid-back energy, and football playing on the screens. I tried the Smog City Snugglebug beer – chosen entirely for its pink hue – and was pleasantly surprised by its refreshing raspberry and boysenberry flavour. Bonus: it paired perfectly with their tacos and quesadillas.
The standout: That pink beer. The Snugglebug was an unexpected delight and exactly what I needed after navigating the Tokyo underground.
Room for improvement: A few more seats would’ve been ideal, especially for weary travellers with shopping bags and train legs. But given the location, it’s more of a stand-and-sip vibe.
Would I return? Yes – next time I get lost in Tokyo Station (which is basically guaranteed), I’ll aim to end up here again.
The verdict: 4 out of 5 stars – fun, tasty, and tucked-away in the best way. Great brews, good bites, and the perfect accidental discovery.
The famous place from Yokohama has a spot in Tokyo basically in the train station that is worth a visit. The beer selection is great, but the prices here are a bit too much for craft beer in my opinion. Nevertheless, this place is always jamming with lots of people around. Good looking food options too. Service was fast and friendly.

Come for the great selection of craft beers from the US. I don’t want to hate on the burger so I will just say that it wasn’t to my liking - just personal taste I guess. The hamburger was cooked well done and the bun fell apart as I ate. How does that happen? Anyway, they have really good beers.
Good selection of beer, although we felt like they had more stick of each beer, which cut down on the variety overall. They have some basic ciders (Ace mostly) and are also selling alcoholic kombucha, which I have not seen anywhere else. The space is larger than the Yokohama store, so you may have a better chance at getting a seat. They sell some really awesome pickles as well, which I highly recommend. We’ve had the spicy dills and “pickles under the ginfluence,” both of which are great.

Craft Beer Tap - Shibuya Stream is a hidden gem located near Shinjuku Station, offering a wide selection of imported craft beers and delicious pizza. The bar has bilingual staff and is conveniently close to the station. It features both imported hoppy beers and unique Japanese brews. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option due to cover charges and premium prices, it's an ideal spot for unwinding after work or enjoying quality craft beer in a cozy atmosphere.
Did the nomihodai - ¥2100 (including tax) for 65 minutes. This includes wine and beer. The beers are European and US (but no hazy IPAs, if that's what you're into). The venue is large but inside a shopping centre (not that you'd know).

Casual Beer Spot Above the Hustle in Shibuya
I was wandering around Shibuya Station looking for a quick beer and something to eat when I stumbled upon this little spot. With so many beers from around the world on the menu, I figured—why not give it a try?
I ordered a couple of beers first, which were great, and later decided on a sandwich. The sandwich was just okay, but the beer definitely made up for it. Prices were fair for the area.
I ended up staying a few hours, just relaxing and enjoying the afternoon. With so many places to eat around Shibuya, it’s easy to get overwhelmed, but if you’re looking for a chill escape from the crowd, head upstairs and enjoy a couple of cold ones.
Nice selection of classic German beers, and a wide selection of bottles as well. It's indeed a bit pricey, but given the variety and quality of beers it wasn't a deal-breaker for me. I also ordered a pasta dish, which was OK, but this isn't really a restaurant, it's a bar, so perhaps not the best place to be ordering pasta from anyway.
If you're looking for Hofbrau or other popular German and Austrian beers and are in the area, I think this can be a fun place to stop by, but I wouldn't come here for dinner.

Went for our last night out in Japan. The food was very oily, it covered the plate. It left our fingers feeling greasy, even after washing our hands in the restroom.
The additionally disappointing part was the 550y per person to be seated, particularly as the staff minimally interacted with us. I don’t believe the English menu had it clearly listed to pay this fee.

Tokyo Aleworks Station Taproom Yurakucho is a relaxed spot that offers a variety of freshly brewed craft beers from the Itabashi-based brewery. The taproom features sixteen different beers on tap, and also serves a menu of shared plates including chicken wings, burgers, and pizzas. Located in the heart of Shibuya, this place also offers authentic and reasonably priced Thai food in a comfortable setting.
You want a good burger? This place rivals any place in the USA. It was so good and the staff was careful to make sure any dietary restrictions were followed. I wish I knew this place was here the day we got here. 10/10. Will return when in Japan!

Great tasting burger. The meat was a little stringy compared to what I’m used to in the states, but the burger was tasty and average size for Japan. The bun was very good, as were the steak fries. Service was above and beyond, and a good selection of beers to choose from. I would come back.

Tokyo AleWorks is a very nice place. As a foreigner, I felt very comfortable there. They serve some great hamburgers, although they tend to sell out early. The beer is excellent and definitely worth trying.
I had an amazing meal at Tokyo Aleworks. I saw the place when exploring the local area and knew I had to try it. The staff were very friendly and sat me at the counter. The Aleworks was very lively, and had a great atmosphere. I ordered a pint of Shinjuku Vice, which was a lovely beer from a local nano brewery in Tokyo.
I ordered the Aleworks burger, which came with potato wedges, and the burger was amazing. It was immense, and had so much flavour.
Tokyo Aleworks makes some great food, and has some amazing local ales on tap. If you're in the area, you should definitely check them out.
We had a really good time dining here! We came for a couple of beers (craft beers here were delicious) and stayed for dinner as well. Food was good but beers were really great.

On a sweltering summer day, the only thing more welcoming than a yummy cheeseburger and an ice-cold Coke is the friendly smile from the staff, apparent even before you step through the door. Will definitely return again :)
Very delicious burger. Basic and honest. That’s all that i am looking for. Meat patties are homemade and juicy. Fries are spot on. Extra pickles could be better and have various veggies not just cucumbers. Pickle are too expensive for what you get. Burger prices are fair. Recommend!

Amazing beer bar and bottle shop with hundreds of beers to choose from on the second floor. Domestic and imported beers and ciders are displayed in big refrigerated cases. There's an extra charge to drink there at the standing tables but it includes a proper glass.
The first floor is a stylish, white-walled bar but I haven't bought anything there. It's a little tricky to find down a side street. Look for the beer glass logo.

Beer-Ma Kanda provides its customers with two different options: the first floor consists of a sit down bar and restaurant while the second floor is a stand up bar that sells both draft and canned beer. Additionally, it consists seven to ear refrigerators stocked with beers from around the world.
If you go, I strongly recommend the beer flight—great value and allows you to explore a variety of beers. In addition, the French fries and onion rings are delicious!!
Really decent place with an amazing selection of craft beers. While the first floor is more of a regular craft beer bar, the true highlight for me is the second floor. It is a bottle shop with a really excellent selection of Japanese and international beers. Just grab whatever tickles your fancy and drink on premise for a small extra fee. Whatever you are into IPAs, sours or any other style of beer, you will find aplenty to choose from. Also, the place is conveniently located just one minute by foot from Kanda JR station.
The selection of craft beer is out of this world. Very friendly staff. The price to drink at the stand up bar is increased by 200 yen, but that is understandable to keep the business alive.

I thought I'd died and gone to beer heaven. The first floor of Beer-Ma is where you can get some very tasty brews on tap. Not too many, but the ones they had were great (one even on nitro). Head on up to the second floor and be prepared to spend the rest of the day trying to decide what to drink!
A long room lined with beer fridges filled with canned and bottled beverages from all over the place. Ciders, sours, stouts, IPAs, you name it! Buy them to drink there or take them home. Your choice.

Cool vibe but… ordered the Wagyu and got their menu skirt steak. We politely asked the server to correct the error but they insisted it was Wagyu (clearly not as evidenced by the photo) and proceeded to charge us for the Wagyu. Order is done by QR code which is normally not a problem, but signals are weak in the building and there is no Wifi available. This makes ordering a frustrating process where either my companion or I would have to walk to the front of the restaurant to place an order rather than from our table at the back of the restaurant.

As soon as we sat down,they offered the baby some snacks.
We asked the staff not to put salt on french fries, she accepted our order without hesitation.
They had many beers that were brewed by themselves. Food and drinks were nice but the quantity was small.
It was about a 10 minutes walk from the nearby station.
I should first note that I only had beer during my visit, so my review does not apply to their food menu since I haven't tried it.
The staff at Vector Brewing were incredibly kind and accommodating even though I don't speak Japanese. They have an online ordering system for travelers that makes it very easy to get what you want, so make sure you have your smartphone with you. I had a stout here that was delicious. Their food menu did not look appealing to me so I just snacked on the otoshi instead. They also sell souvenirs like pint glasses and T shirts.
If you like craft beer then I recommend Vector Brewing. But if you are also interested in having dinner, just make sure their menu has something that is appealing to you first.

Would recommend booking! It opens at 5 but we turned up about 3pm and booked a table for 6pm with one of the staff setting up for the night. Was fully booked the first time we tried to come. It's a stones throw from Shinjuku Gyoen park Shinjuku exit so book before you spend the afternoon there and kick out time straight into here!!! 10/10

Great crate beer place, gaijin friendly in Ikebukuro. We went because of a friend, and it turned out great.
As you can expect in Tokyo, it is small (max 10-11 people), but since we went on a weekday, there were no time limit and the owner would give recommendations on the beer, but still you would see natives coming from time to time. Recommended if you are looking for somewhere chill to take different kinds of beer but want someone to understand you fully.
When we are back in Tokyo will repeat.
Very cool spot to have a drink, listen to good music and conversate with the owner/bartender. I been coming here for a while now and its always a great time, always trying new craft beers, some strong, some not so strong, so they have a beer for all depending on what one is feeling. They have a small selection of finger foods to snack on which are really good especially the giant gyozas. I highly recommend to all.

The place is not that big but enough to accommodate groups. You can sit at the counter and chat with the owners. I'm a craft beer novice and I really appreciate all the input. They offer different kinds of beer, you can order a pint or half-pint.

Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills is a sophisticated hotel located in the bustling business district of Toranomon, just a short distance from the political center of Tokyo. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed at the Andaz Lounge on the 51st floor for a relaxed check-in experience.
We capped off our 2 week stay in Japan with 2 nights at this Andaz. It's pretty easy to get to via Subway which is always nice. The interior of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The service from check-in to check-out was phenomenal. We did room service and the breakfast buffet and all the food was excellent. My only knock would be that our TV didnt have any streaming capabilities at all, and it was unexpected for being such a nice property. But overall, still a stunning stay!

The hotel has opened for quite a while but is super well maintained. Andaz has its perks but still The UB would be my favourite hotel at Toranomon Hills because of their impeccable service.
We stayed 4 nights and it was lovely. I enjoyed the gym and pool. The room was spacious and the service was fantastic. We had breakfast every morning and it was delicious and seemed to have high quality ingredients, lots of options as well. It was a little difficult navigating to the hotel, especially on the first day. The subway station was about a 5 minute walk and i appreciated that it wasn’t in the smack of town. Made it quieter. Everything was high quality down to the hair dryer they offered - I will definitely be staying again when I visit Tokyo.

What a wonderful experience at the Andaz. Stayed here only for a night. Booked through Hyatt Rewards, 40,000 points for a King Bedroom and to our surprise, the hotel generously upgraded us for no charge to a 2 bed room suite on the 47th floor.
The hotel and rooms are beautifully designed, perfectly appointed artwork, furniture and design. Staff are helpful and warm from the moment you walk into the 1st floor bellman station to the guidance to the 52nd floor lobby to check in. Breath taking views from our room and any room since the hotel occupies the top floors. You don't need to fight for a time to go to Shibuya Sky because your room is just as high. You can see Tokyo Tower from some of the public spaces.
Hotel and area are very quiet and quaint compared to the rest of Tokyo. Nestled inside a business forward area versus a tourist forward area like Shinjuku, Ginza or Shibuya. There is a near by train ride, but you are not off the main Yamamote line. Tokyo Station is less than 10 minutes away by taxi/uber.
Arriving with no expectations, I was wonderfully surprised. The reception is on the 51st floor, and to reach the rooms you take a different set of elevators—plus there's a hidden elevator to the rooftop... it all adds to the unique atmosphere. The hotel is of a high standard, both in terms of service and overall quality. Cleanliness, room amenities, spaciousness – everything was a big plus. Breakfasts were strictly European, but everything was very tasty. Personally, I missed a touch of local cuisine, though the quality was impeccable.
The drinks at the rooftop bar were delicious, with an added surprise – a waiter who served us in Polish. The afternoon treats in the lobby were another pleasant experience. The staff’s attention to guest comfort is definitely one of the hotel’s strong points. According to my child, the pool was also top-notch.
Thank you for a lovely family stay – we’ll be back if the opportunity arises.

Absolutely delicious food and very friendly and attentive service! The ribs rank among the best I've ever had and the chili cheese fries are to die for. To top it all off, the berry shortcake was fresh, sweet, and the perfect end to a delicious meal!
Stopped by for lunch and had the 4 meats combo. Great spicy sausage along with the brisket that had a good bite and not dry at all. Also the meat on the ribs fall from the bone they are that tender. Will be back to try the Nashville spicy chicken sandwich next.
Ordered Combo 5 meat for 3 pax. The meat was tender but lacked flavour. The sides was quite disappointing.. The alcohol: Georgian Mint Julep: lacked mint, and it was filled with too much alcohol, which doesn't make it feel like a cocktail, more like a burbon on the rocks. Dessert: mixed berry shortcake Sunday was good. Pecan pie was normal and banana tiramisu was normal. Not worth the price tbh.

As a Texan who’s had some of the best barbecue in the U.S., I was honestly underwhelmed and disappointed.
The good:
• The spare rib was solid, seasoned well and definitely the highlight of the meal (as it should be).
• The lemonade was nice.
• Staff were friendly and efficient.
• Portions are large.
• The interior is clean and nicely done.
The not-so-good:
• The mac and cheese was bland and barely had any cheese, just a bit of something (?) at the bottom.
• The fries were like McDonald’s: overly salty, strange texture, and got cold in five minutes. I’d rather have a smaller portion of hand-cut fries.
• No ketchup offered with the fries.
• The chicken was plain and a little dry.

For 6000 yen (three meat combo), it felt overpriced. I’d rather pay less for a smaller portion with better execution.
I’ll give them credit, it’s not easy to find barbecue in Tokyo, so for Japan, this might be considered decent. But based on the very high reviews and steep price, I expected better. It has that “Japanese take on American BBQ” feel, visually close, but missing that deep, smoky, bold flavor.
Maybe some of their other dishes are better, but I personally wouldn’t return. Still, if you’re craving barbecue or with a group, it’s an okay option.

Pizzakaya, located in Roppongi, has been serving up Californian-style pizza for over a decade. Their pizzas feature chunky crusts and unconventional toppings like guacamole and buffalo sauce chicken. The menu also includes gluten-free appetizers and a house salad dressing that's completely free of gluten.
At the time of writing this review (April 10, 2025), we went to their new location on the 2F of a big office building (don’t remember what it’s called). Probably some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! Had a friendly chat with one of the co-owners as well, who mentioned that today was their first day open to the general public at this location. All of the employees we encountered spoke excellent English. A decent selection of craft brews on tap. At the recommendation of a fellow reviewer, we got the garlic marbles, which were delicious. The menu also has plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a good slice!

This pizza spot hit the spot 😜 The garlic knots are especially tasty, and I recommend asking for some tomato sauce for dipping. We enjoyed the basil pizza, which was quite flavorful. Pizzakaya came through for us last night when we needed an urgent gluten-free dinner, and none of the other options we had researched were open (or indeed that affordable). It’s a little confusing about where to go, but google maps took us up Nadare Zaka from Roppongi-Dori Avenue to the side of the Sumimoto Fudosan Roppongi Grand Tower. We then crossed the street, and there was a staircase leading down inside the building (only 1 flight of stairs down from the street). You could see through the open floor past the railing to the station below. Stick to the left side as you come down those stairs from Nadare Zaka, and you will be in a corridor with shops on the left and glass windows on the right the whole way along. Pass a few other stores, and eventually you will see an automatic door ahead of you in the corridor. Go through it, and Pizzakaya is immediately on the left. The staff are all native English speakers by the looks of it, so even if your Japanese is a bit rough, you will be absolutely fine. They explained to us that anything marked gluten-free is always gluten-free, so you don’t have to specify whether you want it gluten free or not. They can’t do the Detroit pizza gluten free, and the gluten-free pizza only comes in the small size. Which is pretty normal even in my home country. We got the roast seasonal vegetables and bbq chicken pizza, and I appreciated how the chicken was in large, tasty pieces. As some other pizza places I’ve eaten at back home really skimp on the meat. We went here for dinner, and it couldn’t have been better! The pizzas were absolutely incredible — some of the best we’ve had. I just wish they had more branches around Tokyo.
It’s a must-visit, especially if you’re vegetarian, as they offer plenty of delicious options.
A special mention to Jack, who was exceptionally warm and helpful — checking in on us from time to time, guiding us with the menu, and even sharing some great local Tokyo tips. Truly a wonderful experience overall!
Pizzakaya has been a favorite of mine for over 20 years and I’m glad to see them continue in this new (slightly weird) location. The pizza here is not your typical Neapolitan or NYC style pie but it they do their own thing - California-style pizza. The flavors are on point and they bake the pizzas very well.
My only gripe is that small lunch pizzas are not at the same level as the full size ones. The crust to sauce and topping ratio is way off and it feels like you’re eating mostly bread with very little cheese and toppings. Therefore, my advice would be to visit at dinner and order a full size pizza instead of visiting at lunch.
Loved the Detroit style pizza - we had barbeque and it was stellar! Very soft and pillowy dough with a crunchy crust, toppings were perfectly balanced. Pepperoni pizza was also amazing. All paired with a craft pale ale made for a fantastic night out with friends.
Small but nice and comfortable place. The food is very delicious. I went there twice with my boyfriend who has celiac disease and he really enjoyed it too. The owner and waiters are all very kind. I highly recommend it.

A great British pub not far from Shibuya crossing. We saw a sign from the main street and ambled on up the stairs to find your traditional 'British Pub'. The interior looked like an old school pub, and to make things better, a Welsh flag hung abive the bar.
The beer was great, they have a variety of ales, beers, and stouts, and the food was delightful. A steak and ale pie was incredible, and I'd certainly recommend it it if you are looking to eat at The Aldgate British Pub. Prices are good considering its location and the ambience was great. The staff were super helpful and made our time there truly incredible.
I went there with a large group of my coworkers for an end of summer celebration. The food and drinks were great! Wonderful selection of beers and solid cocktails. The only problem was one of the waitstaff was completely unprofessional. Anytime one of our group asked her about something she would have these little meltdowns. We all felt uncomfortable dealing with her. I will reconsider drinking there if I see she is on shift again in the future.

I love this nice hidden place in Shibuya.
This place is probably better than your typical British Pub. It was incredibly welcoming and the staff were lovely to talk to, as well as being a good laugh! If you’re British this is your home away from home, if you’re a local or tourist, this is an authentic taste of British tradition hidden away in a busy part of town.
It was very quiet when I visited, and this may have helped the experience flourish. But when I find myself back in Tokyo, I will be finding myself returning to this pub.
The main problem of this bar is staff. The female bartender is unprofessional and quite rude. When we just came and started checking the beer list, I asked if I can try a small sip of one specific beer which I was thinking to order but was not familiar with its taste and wanted to make sure. She immediately replied: "NO! We don't do that here!". Weird, but fine. I proceeded to order that one beer, "1100!" - was her immediate response. Wait a second, we needed the second beer for my husband, "2200!" - what we heard. Like we were about to run away with 2 beers without paying? 🤦♀️🤦♀️ She didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else. She didn't even say they had food. She was very strategically friendly and polite with some of the clients and totally ignored us.
The bar itself is fine, but the vibes, the music and the beer selection is NOTHING about a British Pub.
This pub serves over 15 draft beers (incl. domestic and imported ones) every time and classic tasty British meals.
In addition, they play music with vinyls from a plenty of collections and broadcast English premier league every weekends.

It’s a small, cozy restaurant located near Asakusa Station, in a quiet corner of the neighborhood. The chefs are all women, and you can really taste the care and attention in every dish.

I am not a big fan of beer but made an exception. Was it worth it? Surely! I got my beer set in like 1 minute after order with Clerk asking if its cold enough. With burger and fries buried in cheese He also told me on which order I could enjoy the beers more. The burger was a normal one, fries were well made, cheese even cold was good to add to Your dish. Might be considered as a tourist trap but I dont think so, visit Yourself!

We visited here late morning, after a stroll around the area doing some shopping, and enjoying the winter sunshine. Crossing the bridge over the Sumida River we were naturally drawn to the gargantuan golden Asahi Flamme d’Or sitting atop the Asahi HQ building, and whilst taking photos headed over to take a closer look. It’s also cheekily known as 金のうんこ, which in slang terms is “the golden turd” hehehe.
Right next door is the Sumida River Brewing Company. So we stopped in for a rest and refreshment. This is like a brewpub - you have the big copper pot stills with a viewing window from the seating area as an interesting visual backdrop whilst you enjoy your brews. The walls are worn brick, and floor to ceiling windows let good light in.
I opted for a bitter stout which has the creamy nitro texture of an irish stout but more nutty flavours. A great drop. We also had some solid snacks from the menu. The raisin butter on crackers was a revelation, who knew that was gonna be good? Karaage you can never go wrong, and here was no exception, they were crispy and juicy, and finally the best snack was the sausage plate with a range of different sausages, some good wholegrain mustard, pickled ginger and bacon strips. Perfect beer accompaniment, and the reason we stayed here for more than just 1 beer.
If you are checking out the Asahi HQ, don’t miss this cool spot right next door.

Went to the location on the 2nd Level of Tokyo station. The store only has a few tables, maybe 6 or 7. The employees were friendly and helpful. They spoke some English to assist me. The food was very good. The Red Rice Ale was fantastic. I highly recommend this.

Even if you aren’t familiar with Japanese craft beer, you should know Hitachino Nest. It’s been around since forever (well 1996 or so).
For me, I think I had my first one back in Australia before moving to Singapore 10 years ago where there are brewpubs that stock it extensively.
On this visit with nearly 20K steps in the legs I needed some sustenance and opted for the nitro coffee stout. It came in a plastic cup and I stood at a nearby table surveying the station activity below. This was perfection!
After inhaling that, I went for the Dai Dai IPA which packed a refreshingly fruity hoppy punch!
For me this is a quick pitstop location; pop in, try some sensational bevvies, pop out!
Finding this place almost ruined my marriage, but it was worth it! (There are 2 locations in Tokyo Station, and we were each trying to navigate to a different one.). For this location, go out the Yaseu Central Gate exit then up the escalator to your right. Good, reasonably priced beer with awesome snacks (the marinated octopus was our fav). LOVE THE OWL THEME - save room to buy some mugs

Ushitora is a unique establishment consisting of two sister bars located across the street from each other. Ushitora One offers both counter and table seating, serving Western cuisine, while Ushitora Two is a more casual standing bar that specializes in Japanese dishes like kushiage and oden.
We were wandering the neighborhood just looking to get a beer and saw the reviews for this place, so happy we came in.
The beers were excellent but the chef and waitress were so friendly to us. The best part was how committed the chef was to preparing the most delicious Udon we’ve ever had. I was lucky to get to photograph him and how attentively he was preparing the dish. This was one of our luckiest travel finds!

What a gem this is. Micro brewery with all their own beer, the friendliest two people working, recommending beers and chatting and friendly patrons. Also their beer is superb, the best pale lager I’ve had and a great Pils. Seek it out for Japanese hospitality and superb beer.
Amazing craft beer bar in Shimokitazawa and one of our favourites in the area. The staff are very warm and welcoming and there's always a nice vibe when you go there. The beer is amazing, there's always a very decent selection with frequent changes to the menu. Good place for Japanese speakers and non Japanese speakers alike as the manager makes an effort either way.

Fukagawa Winery Tokyo, established in 2016, is dedicated to producing wine within the city. They even cultivate grapes on a nearby supermarket's rooftop for use as a yeast starter in their fermentation process. The winery, located in Koto City just a short train ride from central Tokyo, offers a tasting room and restaurant where visitors can observe the wine-making process. Their wines feature grapes sourced from various regions across Japan.
It was really good for not only wine but also dishes! The chef trained his skill abroad and his dishes were unique, especially the grape soup. I saw tanks to mature wine and they let me taste the wine much better.

A quirky little place in a side street, Tamsang looks like a typical Tokyo clothing boutique from the outside and even has few tee-shirts hanging up for sale( but resembles a coffee shop inside). However, there are a range of beers, the taps being hidden in a small cupboard upon the wall. I had a German style schwartz beer, which was very nice - but, at ¥1400 for 400ml was rather pricey.

Really cool area with a great range of craft beers from japan, food also smelled delicious but we didn't eat it!
I don’t know any other place in the Yoyogi Koen area where you can enjoy craft beer and sit outside. This is an overlooked gem on a side street in Yoyogi Hachiman that serves fat tacos, taco rice, and yummy homemade drinks. Oh, and of course the selection on tap is well-curated. They offer three-beer tasting flights.
Tamsang is a great little craft beer cafe located in a quiet Yoyogi backstreet. They have 13 taps with an incredible selection of beers - mostly domestic - from some highly sought after brewers. Their tap list is at the higher end of the craft beer spectrum with prices to match, so it won't be a cheap outing, but you'll be drinking some of the best beers Japan has to offer.
Very cool craft beer spot with a kind of Thai fusion food lineup. The staff asked if I was ok with cilantro in the pork taco, and even obliged my request for extra cilantro - for which I am very thankful!

Nissin World Delicatessen is a three-story international supermarket situated in the upscale Azabujuban area of Tokyo. The first floor houses a parking lot and a flower shop, while the second floor offers an extensive collection of wine and spirits. On the third floor, visitors can find a wide array of international foods and fresh produce sourced from around the world.
Foreigners-store with (premium) products form over the world, think Belgian Beers, French wine, etc and premium Japanese cuts of wagyu. Below the store there’s a lunch place where you can grab a sandwich or burger. The best thing : you can grab a vold Stella Artois from the store and have it with your burger.

A very good supermarket especially for non Japanese. They offer many items not found in any other supermarket such as: pure lean ground beef ( usually it is mixed with pork in Japan ), a wide variety of cheeses, and spices. They also have a deli counter where they slice sandwich meats and steaks. They also have a whole floor dedicated to beer and wine. Many of the items they offer are imported and the prices reflect that. Overall I love this place.
Edit : They have moved the business across the street. The new building is MUCH smaller. In my opinion 1/3 the size of the original. Shopping has become much harder on busy days.
Edit: Recently was shopping here ( 12/19 ) and saw they are expanding the building making it twice it’s original size. Can’t wait to go back when it’s finished!
The store itself is great. As others have said, it is easily accessed from Azabu Sta., they also have some parking. You can find almost everything a foreigner would want that you just can’t find in a regular supermarket, of course the prices are eye-watering on most of the rare products. Staff are friendly and all(?) speak some English.
I was exited to try out some of their own brand bacon as I’m always disappointed with the “bacon” here in Japan. Unfortunately it too was disappointing, tastes like all the other grocery store bacon here in Japan, which is like ham.

Nice table wine & beer selection. Produce has fancy fruit/trendy veg @¥¥¥ no seafood. Butcher large selection of import and local meat & deli items. Bucher will cut and trim if you buy an entire package. Lots sausage, frozen specialty meat. Lots of Sauces & spices. Bakery goods has bagels otherwise subpar. ¥640 for a frozen bean burrito?
Not too many other supermarkets in the area and they might have that special item from home you crave. They stock Halal items.
Potato chips, corn tortillas, jams, cereals, spices, cookies, game meat, old bay, duck, pastrami, sausages, ham, couscous, kasha, hot sauces, pickles, snacks etc.
It’s a good place to go to get International food. They sometimes have Costco/ Kirkland products and the cashiers are always friendly. I get that International food is pricey , but some products are way too pricey for what it’s worth. But all in all, it’s a good place to shop.
While some things can be a bit pricey, Nissin is one of the best all-around grocery stores in Tokyo, particularly for its selection of meats, cheese, wine and foreign goods. The amazing selection of both old and new world wines alone should be enough to convince you to come back. The wine selection is simply amazing, and the pricing is very good for Tokyo.
If you ever get homesick, you'll find almost anything you want here. I come here mainly for the pints of Haagen Dazs, but it's fun walking around checking out what they have. I do wish they had Ben & Jerry's too, but that seems to be missing anywhere in Japan, sadly.
Great place! Been here twice now and will no doubt be back soon. Great food, really reasonable prices…The hot corned beef sandwich is incredible!

Located just a short walk from Roppongi Station, BrewDog Roppongi is the place to be for beer enthusiasts. This Scottish brewery offers its own in-house creations like Punk IPA and Dead Pony Club pale ale, as well as a variety of international beers on tap. With 20 craft beers available, including 10 brewed on site, visitors can enjoy options like Northern Star Porter and Sea Coast Pilsner.
Great open bar with tables in the back. A bar this size is a rare sight in Tokyo and very welcome. If you are ever missing western style atmosphere, especially in a pub, look no further. Reasonable prices, awesome service, and great beer. What more could you ask for?

Overall was a pretty good experience. Really enjoyed the lamb pizza. Beers were as expected and prices in line with the area.
First time visiting this bar in Roppongi. The inner décor reminds of a bar in the US with counter seats and booths at the front and tables in the back. The menu is mainly in English with Japanese descriptions. You can select from a wide range of craft beers that are available in S/L/Pint sizes. They also have a pretty good food menu with daily specials that are really great. With some slightly old western pop songs playing in the background, perfect place if you want to drink alone or with friends! Spacey and very welcoming even for a first timer!

I went to this place with friends on a Friday night and made a reservation through AutoReserve.
The staff speak English really well. They have a great selection of craft beers and food. We got three pizzas, and they were super tasty! The craft beer was awesome too.
The restaurant is pretty big, amazing atmosphere, and the bathrooms are clean, though you have to go upstairs for them. The prices are very reasonable.
I’ll definitely visit again when I'm around there. If you love craft beer, you should totally check this place out! 🍻
American style brewpub here offering beer flights and some cocktail specials. The server we had was extremely cool and awesome to talk to as well. The beer was also pretty good.
Had a great night out here. The food was good, even if the servings were on the small side (but, hey - it is Japan!). The service was friendly and efficient — we got some good beer recommendations from the bar staff 😀
After a few beers, we met a couple of friendly Americans and had a good old chat. So, a “tick” for good atmosphere and friendly patrons.
It is a Western style bar with western style food and craft beer. The disconcertingly named “Elvis Juice” was the pick of the tasting paddle.
Although we enjoyed our beers in moderation, I did wonder how people who might of had “a few too many” get back alive from the bathroom, which is at the top of a long, narrow flight of stairs on the second floor 😂
I’m so sorry. The food was not great. :( poor attempt at American cuisine. The sharing plate. The onion rings were very bland. Batter not right. We couldn’t finish them as they were very icky. :(.
Staff were welcoming and friendly. English speaking staff work at this Brewdog. Postcards were available. Selection of beers on tap looked very good and food menu was exciting. I was upset to find out that they were out of stock on the pin badges and as a collector of them, I left empty handed.

Probably the best beer bar in Tokyo. Great tap selection and an expansive bottle/can selection. Good is equally impressive and the service is some of the best! You’re very likely to get the beer served in the proper glass with the proper beer mat.
Decent English pub located at Shinbashi. Various craftbeer and plenty of food menus. Good beer quality control. Price is acceptable.

As a Belgian beer lover, this is place is like an oasis in the desert of Tokyo. Huge selection of fine beers and the "Beer Stew" is fantastic. Lovely atmosphere and the visitors are mostly local, this is a real gem.

Amazing beer selection from all over the world, many are on tap, and all are delicious.
The atmosphere is also very nice and rustic. It really feels like an old European style beer bar or a pub.
Highly recommend if you are looking for good imported beer!

Finally, staff and owner are all super nice and know very well about the different kind of beer. Real specialists. They can help you chose depending on your tastes.

Himalaya Table is a unique dining spot that combines South Asian cuisine with a selection of craft beers. The restaurant offers eight microbrews on tap, carefully chosen to complement their signature momo mutton dumplings and other sharing snacks. Fully appreciate optimize everything approach to snacks to full entrees. The proprietor takes each pour as seriously as tuning an orchestra string instrument.

We didn't try the food but we had hell of an amazing time at the bar. The crew is incredible and quite welcoming . They speak English very well which is appreciable for tourists. Highly recommended.
I’m really disappointed with my experience here. The portion sizes are far too small for the price, especially with only four momos per serving, it feels really lacking. I decided to give it a try, hoping for something special, but the food was just average at best. Unfortunately, this isn’t a place I’ll be returning to.
Don’t really appreciate being shoved in a corner when the restaurant has no one in it.
Food is good, I like the sharing snacks. Great selection of draft beers. Beers relatively expensive but good price for value in the area over all. And they gave an English food menu.
