The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, situated on the south side of Ankara Castle, houses an extensive and unique collection of artifacts from Anatolia's significant archaeological sites. The exhibits are displayed in chronological order, spanning from the Paleolithic era to the Ottoman period.
A gem of a museum! Has deservedly won the European Museum of the Year Award some years back. Just after you enter the main building is a description of the 11 sections of the museum and the layout of the sections. Then at the beginning of each section is a brief history of what is exhibited and the most important things to see. It made the viewing very enjoyable and interesting. And the exhibits - wow!! Such a great collection. It was definitely one of the best museums I’ve visited!!

What an amazing experience, definitely worth a visit when you are in Ankara. The museum is really well set up and full of so much history. The audio guide is also really well made and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Glad to have been able to visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations

Fabulous wealth of amazing artifacts from neolithic to Roman occupation times. I could have spent another 3 hours here, but for time constraints. The Sumerian, Hittite and Akkadian stone carvings and wall reliefs are jaw dropping!

A stunning museum that is home to majority of the Anatolian Civilizations Heritage. Infact, won European Museum of the Year Award in 1997 which is an award started to be given out 1977. It is one of the most interesting and beautiful museums of the country. A must visit! ☺️
Tour K — Google review
Well done museum. Displays are well lit and easy to see, even in a crowd. They have sculptures and pieces of life from thousands of years BC.
Debbie E — Google review
This is one of the most important Museum about Anatolic antique culture and Art. It is a great journey into the ancient art from Paleolitic period with divine feminine little sculptures (paleolitic venus), mural paintings and graffiti, decorated & zoomorphic vases, the fascinating Grave Sun Disk Ornament and primitive utensils till 1.000 BC. But nonetheless, there’a central rooms with decorared walls from ancient temples and cities. A must-see place, expecially if you are not going to travel through the region to visit ancient ruins spread all over former Anatolia. The location of the Museum is also a nice quiet place within a nice little park and close to a typical turkish market descending back to the big avenues. The Museum has designed also some space dedicated to rest and have some talks when finished the tour. Finally, as a restored old marketplace, the building in itself is a pleasant spot in the caotic architectural melting pot of the capitol.

Ancient Ruins
Ankara Castle, an ancient fortress perched on a rocky hill, provides breathtaking panoramic views of the city. With its strong fortifications and intricate architecture, this historic site offers visitors a glimpse into Turkey's past. The castle has been used by various civilizations for defense and settlement over its 4,000-year history and has undergone numerous repairs. Inside the castle, there are houses dating back to different historical periods, providing insight into the area's evolution.
We have been here twice already and we are never tired of it! You can have a cup of coffee or tea in a small cafe inside the yard. You can enjoy the great view from above. You can buy souvenirs from local people and have a taste of traditional items. Take your time to go up and admire the view!

Ankara Castle is a historical landmark with amazing panoramic views of the city. Walking through its old walls and narrow streets feels like traveling back in time. Around the castle, you can find beautiful shops with souvenirs, accessories, and charming cafés designed in an old traditional style. It’s a must-visit spot in Ankara for history lovers and anyone who enjoys exploring authentic places
منى ر — Google review
Ankara Castle is one is must visit place. The panoramic views are amazing you can see the whole Ankara. But the sad part is it needs some work especially outside walls. Worth to visit
Qaiser M — Google review
Ankara Kalesi is one of the most charming and underrated historical landmarks in Turkey. It’s overlooking the city, this ancient fortress has stunning panoramic views of Ankara that are worth the climb alone. Walking through the cobblestone streets and seeing lovely shops next to each other was fun!
Deniz — Google review
The view from up there is simply amazing. The walls of this place carry a lot of stories that it had seen. The place is very old. It is a military castle as it contains the openings were soldiers used to sit to attack the enemies. The view from there is simply one of the best. I loved every thing I saw. If you are in the area nearby, this place is not to be missed.
Antoun B — Google review
Highest point of the castle is a good place for the panorama view of the whole Ankara. Antik shops and cafe shops worth paying a visit. No ticket was required for the castle.
Emad P — Google review
It’s interesting to see how the ruins are hidden in the middle of the city. You can barely see them from the Main Street down below. The layout of the castle are has been somewhat preserved but all you see are partial walls. The view from up in these walls is very nice though. Both facing city as facing The background mounts. It’s best visited if you have someone local to point out what is what in the city view…otherwise it’s just a bunch of buildings seen from a distance.
Diogenes T — Google review
On my second visit to Ankara I was happy to see this historic and wonderful Castle. It is one of the must-visit destinations in the city for tourists. I have been waiting for this for a long time, it came true today I found myself at Ankara Castle. I saw a big number of tourists including national and international like Chinese the most. From the top you can grasp the beauty of the Capital with a wide landscape. There are also charming traditional houses and small shops selling local crafts and souvenirs, adding to the authentic atmosphere. It's a great place to wander, soak in the history, and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Highly recommended for history buffs and anyone looking for a unique experience in Ankara.

The Rahmi M. Koc Museum in Ankara, Turkey is a top destination for car enthusiasts and families alike. The museum offers a fascinating exploration of the progress in transportation and science, featuring rare cars, medical tools, boats, old warplanes, small cars, and more. Visitors can stroll through the beautifully restored historical building to discover an extensive collection of artifacts that illustrate the development of the automotive industry.
The entrance fee was 250 TL. There are a huge number of different exhibits in this museum. The exhibits are divided by theme, for example: engines, trains, agriculture, etc. It's great that some mechanisms are interactive, so you can see how they work. The museum complex consists of two buildings. It took me 2 hours to see all the exhibits. I liked this museum the best of all the ones I visited.

The Rahmi M. Koç Museum in Ankara is a hidden treasure worth every minute and penny! Nestled in the historic Altındağ district, just steps from the Ankara Citadel, this industrial museum is a captivating blend of past and present, housed in the beautifully restored Çengelhan (1522) and Safranhan (1511) buildings. Ticket prices are fair—160 TL for local adults, 70 TL for local students, and 400 TL for tourists—and the experience far exceeds the cost.Walking through, I was blown away by the variety: vintage cars, locomotives, maritime tools, old radios, and even a playful toy collection. Getting to interact with some exhibits brought the history to life—touching a piece of Turkey’s industrial story felt special. Standouts include Vehbi Koç’s first shop replica and a stunning 1700s painting of Ankara. The glass-roofed courtyard adds a modern flair to the Ottoman vibe, and the café is a cozy bonus. Its location is unbeatable—right by Ankara Castle and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, making it easy to explore more after. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this museum is a delight. I’d highly recommend it for a unique, hands-on dive into Turkey’s heritage!

Such a fun museum to explore! It’s full of fascinating history about old businesses and inventions. I especially loved the classic cars and the tiny model houses 🏠🚗 The place is clean, peaceful, and perfect for a slow museum walk.
Sama S — Google review
The museum is amazing and has some really good vintage cars. There are other things and personally collections from koc family too. The museum also offers a cafe. Teachers and students pay a discounted price of 50 TL. Usual price is 100 TL
Yaqeen S — Google review
Mind blowing and beautiful. We are not sure what the theme of the museum is hahaha, it has tons of EVERYTHING, literally, but each corner is amazing and you just keep saying "wow" over and over. Very reasonably priced, we were there for at least 2 hours and I'm sure we didn't even finish half of the exhibits, this museum is massive and encompasses several buildings. Truly unique and marvelous, a must see in Ankara.
Javier — Google review
A truly impressive museum and a remarkable tribute to the life’s work of Rahmi M. Koç. The collection is incredibly diverse – from transportation and industrial heritage to everyday objects – all curated with an extraordinary attention to detail. You can feel the passion for innovation, history, and progress in every part of the museum. An absolute must-see in Ankara for anyone interested in technology, engineering, and culture. I was genuinely impressed – and will definitely return!
T. K — Google review
I really loved the musum. As someone interested in history and the people, it gave me really good glimpse into the life and profession of the Turkish people in the past century. The other part of the musum, which included the collection of many things, from model trains and model ships, to hunting gear, submarine and ship parts, etc, was really interesting as well. I spend more than two hours there, and I think I should've spent more.
Hasan N — Google review
It's simply great place to visit - lots of different models and original mechanisms all over the world, you'll find miniaturized ships and planes, rarity cars like Ford T or Messerschmitt KR200, the historical background of the museum building is also affected telling visitors the story of handicrafts in Ottoman Empire. The whole visit could take up to few hours because exposition is quite huge, but it's really worth it.

The Haci Bayram Mosque, constructed in the 15th century by Architect Mehmet Bey, is a significant Ottoman-era landmark located in Ulus. The mosque features brick outer walls on stone and is accompanied by the Haci Bayram-i Veli Tomb. Named after the prominent religious scholar Haci Bayram Veli, it reflects a blend of Seljuk and early Ottoman architectural styles with intricate tile work and ornate calligraphy.
Hacı Bayram Veli Mosque is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to visit in Ankara, MashaAllah. We visited here after exploring Ankara Castle and offered Asar Namaz in this serene environment. The mosque holds great historical significance as one of the oldest mosques in the city, dating back to the Ottoman Empire period. Named after the Turkish Sufi and poet Hacı Bayram-ı Veli, it offers a fascinating blend of spiritual and historical value. The surrounding area is equally captivating. Behind the mosque, you'll find a park with ancient signs of the past, including monuments from the Roman era, over 2100 years old. The traditional handcraft shops nearby add to the cultural richness of the experience. In addition to its beauty and history, Hacı Bayram Mosque offers excellent views of Ankara city. The ♿accessibility is well thought out, with a dedicated 🅿️parking lot and a lift making it easy for everyone to reach the mosque. A must-visit if you're in Ankara!
Kashif M — Google review
I loved my visit to the mosque. A lot if history present. New mosque is very beautiful inside. Visited the grave of Haci Bayram and offered fatiha. There are some nice restaurants and shops around to spend time in your own or with family
Syed S — Google review
The mosque was built in the early 15th century in honor of Hacı Bayram Veli, a prominent Turkish Sufi and founder of the Bayrami Sufi Order. The mosque was constructed shortly after his death and became a center for spiritual learning and devotion. Over the centuries, the mosque has undergone several renovations, blending Seljuk and Ottoman architectural styles, which gives it a unique charm. Architecture and Features The Hacı Bayram Mosque has a simple yet elegant design. Its brick and stone structure, along with its wooden roof, reflects the architectural style of its era. Inside, the mosque is adorned with beautiful calligraphy and wooden decorations. Despite its modest size, it exudes a deep sense of serenity, enhanced by the spiritual significance of the place. Spiritual and Cultural Importance As a spiritual hub, the mosque continues to attract both worshippers and visitors from around the country and beyond. It is particularly busy during religious holidays and special events, and many people visit the tomb of Hacı Bayram Veli, located adjacent to the mosque, to pay their respects. The proximity to the Temple of Augustus also highlights Ankara’s cultural layers, with ancient Roman history sitting alongside Ottoman and Islamic heritage. Visitor Experience Visiting the Hacı Bayram Mosque offers a peaceful and reflective experience. The surrounding area has been recently developed into a lively plaza with shops and cafes, making it an enjoyable stop for both spiritual and cultural exploration. Overall, the Hacı Bayram Mosque is a must-visit for anyone interested in Ankara’s historical and religious landscape.

Amazing veiws, worth to visit, people are really kind in the area
Qaiser M — Google review
Came to visit this mosque and spend the day out with the family on this Sunday. The kids enjoyed the day and had a lot of fun. We were able to pray and get something to eat. All in all it was quality time and spiritual experience. We were able to come by car and it has free of charge underground parking.
Search T — Google review
Ulus is typically known to be a more dangerous area of Ankara so definitely be aware of your surroundings. I was approached by a few children begging for money near the hacibayram mosque and when I gave a few lyras, a whole swarm of children surrounded me and kept following me to give them more money. At one point, I had to speeded up my walk as they tugged my shirt and bag. So definitely be careful in the area. Ankara isn’t used to tourists so there will be a few curious faces when they see a foreigner and some will even offer you food out of kindness, just politely decline as much as possible because you never know the intentions of people and they might’ve poisoned it. Other than that, the area was beautiful to see because of the Rocky Mountains and the Ankara castle from afar (you can walk to that too!)
Yusuf M — Google review
Haci Bayram Mosque is the most spiritual place in Ankara. The mosque and the neighbourhood are beautiful inside and outside, day and night. It is very historical. The propery is very clear. Thanks to the restoration it has a fresh look and live all the time. In summer times, you can listen to music next to small pools... Ablution facilities are also very good. Just it can be better using paper towel.

If you want to go all the way up to the highest level of Atakule, it costs 300 TL for students and 600 TL for adults. I highly recommend visiting this place. there’s a shopping center and a beautiful, peaceful park nearby.

Cheque and prestigious shopping mall. Beautiful view to the jungle, good places to dine and for drinks, specially the top restaurant, The Nakia. You cant find all brands but there are good one there like vakko, vakkorama, fash fed, super steps, swarovski, pandora and more. Dont expect to find zara, mango, nike store, adidas store or brands sort of like this. There is a cinema and a play house for kids and young children. Visit Atakule with your family and enjoy your time.

Park
Gençlik Park in Ankara is a popular green space that offers a variety of attractions for visitors. The park features an outdoor theater, an artificial lake with light shows, and an amusement park known as Ankara Luna Park. It also boasts two small trains, a swimming pool, and walking paths spread across its vast 70-acre area. At night, the park comes alive with colorful lights, providing entertainment for both day and night.
It's a youth park (gençlik parkı) located in the middle of the city. On my first trip to Ankara, i visited this wonderful park today. While you visit here you can find every kind of amenities, like the ferris wheel, swing ride, bout swing, pool, playground, pumper cars... I tried the boat swing. 😄 If you gonna go to Ankara, do visit this amazing park. It's one of the must-go places.
Bassir ع — Google review
A spacious and green park, great for walking or having a picnic. There are playgrounds and plenty of seating — perfect for families. Some areas could be better maintained, but overall a very pleasant place to relax!
Leandro — Google review
What a sad waste of space, why even have this massive artificial lake that the locals refer to as a "pool" when you take the water out? It is also ironic that the park is called "young park" in The overwhelming majority of the people visiting are the elderly simply loitering about?
Cory F — Google review
Google maps guided us through this place to lead us to our destination. The walk inside this park was nice. We enjoyed the birds in the morning hours. I loved seeing the green parrot too. It is a nice place to enjoy spending time in especially with its quiet mornings. If you are around, you can have a nice walk in here.
Antoun B — Google review
More of a family park with lots of animations, cafes, fair, games. Some water bassins, fountains, benches. Very well kept and clean. Free of use bathrooms around the park too. Not that much greenery though, you won't feel immersed in nature.
Gigi D — Google review
The park was absolutely wonderful—everything about it was very pleasant. It was clean and well-kept, and the atmosphere was lovely. People in the area were calm and easygoing. The neighborhood was very simple and quiet. However, almost all the shops were closed. I couldn’t find a place to get even a single meal or a cup of coffee.
Mustafa — Google review
I went there with a group of foreigners friends. We spent a good time Had fun Enjoyed our time And took some nice pictures around the park. Luna park is also inside! Nice place for kids and young people. Access to the park is free of charge. Access to Luna Park is paid. Access to the games inside Luna Park are paid for each game separately. You can go there by different means of transportation, the easiest was the metro from Kızılay to the closest metro station. NB. Most of the games are paid in cash. So make sure to get extra cash if you are planning to try all the games. Write to me if you need more help! Have a nice time 👋

CerModern, located in Ankara, is a contemporary art gallery housed in a restored railway factory. Since its establishment in 2010, it has been a hub for cultural and artistic activities, hosting national and international art events and exhibitions. The museum also offers educational programs, concerts, festivals, film screenings, and an art library with reference books on modern arts.
I visited CerModern for the Christmas market, but throughout the year, it also hosts various events, art exhibitions, and open-air cinema screenings. There's always something happening, and you can also enjoy great coffee while you're here.

Free entrance for an exhibition on Atatürk at the time of our visit. Nice space with an outdoor and indoor cafe, a souvenir shop with local creators, a live music venue. Overall a very pleasant vibe

beautiful, nicely organized and interesting. i wish i could catch more exhibitions, however, there's only one available at the moment. there is a cafe and a gift shopnear the museum. coffee was good and I fell in kov with the artworks and accesoires in the shop.

The New & Now exhibit closing party was great. Lite snacks and drinks and an acapela group that sang in various places throughout the gallery. Really well curated exhibit and can't wait to see what's next.

Went here for a tasting and book review. Was a good event overall. This place has a nostalgic vibe and is quite interesting overall. I would definitely attend more events here and recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different to do in Ankara. Getting there is quite easy and there is ample parking. I am especially excited for movie nights in summer which apparently is an outdoor event. Just a bit of culture in a city which lacks these kinda venues.
Berk C — Google review
I do not fully understand the idea of such exhibitions. Well, yes, the photos are beautiful, yes, in good quality, with good staging and lighting, so what? Why does it cost 30 lire? Do not think, I do not feel sorry for 30 lire, I understand that the person tried and this is indisputable, any work must be paid, but is it profitable? On the Internet, these photos are potentially much more successful. Overall though, I liked it.

Known as cultural lungs of Ankara. Exhibitions, open air cinema, and lots of other activities like new year market that you wouldn’t want to miss. Unfortunately lots of people don’t even know how to pronounce its name. Let’s try to enjoy such a cool cultural art center with an easy accessibility.

Bodies of Water
Lake Eymir, situated within the Middle East Technical University campus in Ankara, Turkey, offers a tranquil retreat for nature enthusiasts and visitors seeking a break from urban life. The picturesque lake is surrounded by pine trees and lush greenery, providing an ideal setting for activities such as cycling, jogging, and leisurely walks. It's a popular spot for picnics and birdwatching, with opportunities to observe various bird species.
A beautiful lake in the heart of Ankara, always a great experience spending time here on the weekends.
Anusha R — Google review
While Eymir Lake offers a beautiful backdrop for picnics, biking, and walks, safety concerns mar the experience. The lack of dedicated bike lanes forces cyclists and pedestrians to share the road with cars, creating a potential accident zone. The basic parking lot with no designated spaces and a single entry/exit point further increases the risk of collisions. Upgrading the infrastructure is crucial. Dedicated bike lanes, proper sidewalks, and a well-maintained parking area are essential. Even bike rentals would be a welcome addition. Basic amenities also need attention. The lone restaurant lacks secure bike parking, and the restrooms appear neglected. A lack of dedicated prayer areas and stray dog packs add to the concerns. With proper care, Eymir Lake has the potential to be an amazing getaway. Let's hope for improvements to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Raziuddin F — Google review
It is a beautiful place for walking or if you want you can rent a bike, there some restaurants close to the lake unfortunately I didn't have the chance to taste them they took more than 40 minutes for my food and I had to go back. You can go by bus (190 opera) but it is gonna be a long road and you need to schedule your go back cause there's just one bus per hour.
Cristian C — Google review
Ohh how beautiful it is, away from the crowds, you can come with friends, family, or even alone, you can walk, run, ride your bike, which you can borrow there. Beautiful scenery, fresh, clean air. You'll find animals and birds, and it's definitely worth a visit, especially on a weekend morning.

Absolutely love this park! Love cycling with the family here. 🚴🏽🚲
Faith M — Google review
The lake is beautiful by it's nature and clean air. You aren't allowed to enter the park by your private car. Only the cars with METU sticker are allowed to enter. What I think is that they shouldn't be let in either. Then I will give five stars. In the lake there are happy animals. You can rent a bike and ride around the lake. Also you can have a small picnic inside. Another option is taking a walk around that you will enjoy fresh air and the lake view. I recommend those who want to have a breathe and enyoj the nature visiting Eymir Lake.

So quiet place at night. You can rent a bike to make a tour around the lack in the morning. There's a restaurant u can order some snacks or food and enjoy eating it with the nice view of the lack.

If you are looking for a quite and serene place to escape from city life (Ankara) Eymir lake is the place. It is quite natural, with a lake stretching along. You can rent a bike for 10 to 15 Turkish liras per hour. You can also dine in the forest on your own or from the restaurants there. It is very safe place, a lot of people and families with their kids hung-out there.

It is not just a tourist attraction but also serves as an educational hub with a focus on conservation efforts. Families with kids can enjoy spending quality time here while observing various sea creatures from different parts of the world.
Beautiful aquarium. Perfect for an evening for family time. It’s not very large. We spent about an hour but the facility is well kept and it’s easily accessible. It’s a combination of aquarium and safari type of animals. Highly recommend.

I stopped by this place while I was at the neta vega mall. The place is beautiful and it helps you escape for a few from the city noise. I liked the fish they have. Their wildlife experience is more of snakes and lizards. I loved seeing the crocodile. All in all it was a good experience.
Antoun B — Google review
The aquatium had two floors which came as a nice surprise. They also had tropical/exotic animals corner (beware of snakes, spiders, lizards, small monkey, if zou fear them). It is really nicely taken care of place. The spaces are big and i think the fish are not stressed-they seem really healthy. On the lower floor there is a big aquarium with the tunnel, where a lot of fish are. I really like the seating spaces and piano background sound.
Ana S — Google review
The aquarium was a great experience for kids. We enjoyed every single minute there. There were many different types of fish and animals, spread over two floors. We even got to feed some of the fish for 100TL. The entrance fee was reasonable, 190TL for adults and 130TL for kids.
Ahmad Z — Google review
I am worried about the level of knowledge of the keepers. Especially worried about the poor snakes. We came in while most of the snakes were in blue (shedding). We did not see a single snake that was able to shed in one healthy piece. The green tree pythons each scale had skin coming off it individually. The humidity in their enclosures are not set correctly with what levels they need in mind. The ball python was compensating by soaking itself in its water dish. Either get people who knows what conditions needs to be met to take care of these animals, or let them go somewhere where there are people who do know how to take care of these animals. As another negative comment: the monkeys area smelled awful, I almost gagged. I had to hold my breath passing by them. Poor animals are being forced to live under cruel conditions at this “aquarium”. Do not come here and do not support these animal abusers.
Sinemis C — Google review
We paid 1920TL which means 320TL per person. The aquarium was beautiful and the creatures we saw were amazing. Sometimes the water was not clear and the glass needed cleaning. Some of the water motors and equipments were warned out. Otherwise we enjoyed our time there. I recommend visiting specially as a family activity.
Mariam A — Google review
Such a nice place for kids in Ankara. It’s well maintained. Prices are reasonable. Being inside a mall will gives you so many after party options as well.

The aquarium fee was quite expensive. I paid 94 for 4. For a family, it will enjoy looking at sea creatures and some reptiles. For a couple or if you are alone, it would a unique experience only if you go for the first time in your life as many other countries offer better.

Completed between 1967 and 1987, it boasts an expansive area of 4,500 square meters that can accommodate over 24,000 worshippers. Perched on Kocatepe Hill, this architectural marvel features four soaring minarets and a grand central dome that captures the eye from afar.
The Kocatepe Mosque (Turkish: Kocatepe Camii) is an awe-inspiring masterpiece and the largest mosque in Ankara, Turkey. Constructed between 1967 and 1987 in the vibrant Kocatepe quarter of Kızılay, its grandeur and commanding presence have made it a prominent landmark, visible from nearly every corner of central Ankara. The mosque’s architecture is breathtaking, blending classical Ottoman design with modern influences, creating a majestic and peaceful atmosphere. The mosque’s design is meticulously planned, with the women’s prayer area located on the first floor, while the spacious ground floor is reserved for men. Whether you’re admiring its towering minarets or stepping inside to experience its serene beauty, Kocatepe Mosque is a true symbol of Ankara’s cultural and architectural pride

Mosque is a magnificent structure and a must-visit in Ankara. The architecture is stunning, and the sheer size of the mosque is awe-inspiring. What truly made our visit memorable was the kindness of the imam, who took the time to share valuable insights about Islam and the mosque itself. He even allowed us to go up to the top of the minarets, offering an incredible view of the city. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the interior is beautifully designed. A wonderful experience that deepened my appreciation for this cultural and spiritual landmark!

Kocatepe Mosque (Kocatepe Camii) is the largest and one of the most iconic mosques in Ankara, Turkey. Located in the Kocatepe quarter of the city, it was completed in 1987 after two decades of construction. The mosque blends traditional Ottoman and modern architectural styles, featuring a grand central dome, four towering minarets (each 88 meters high), and intricate calligraphy adorning its interior. The mosque's interior is spacious and ornately decorated with chandeliers, marble, and stained-glass windows that allow natural light to illuminate the prayer hall. The central dome, supported by semi-domes and elegant columns, adds to the mosque's grandeur. Kocatepe Mosque can accommodate thousands of worshippers and serves as a significant religious, cultural, and tourist attraction in Ankara.

Honestly all the masjid in Türkiye are just mind blowing to me since this trip was the first time I’ve been in this country and I wasn’t raised around such grand masjid (I come from Hong Kong). It surprised me so much that to a lot of the locals here, such grand architecture and art in the masjid are so normalised to them since they’re seeing it everyday. As usual, do check when the visiting hours are if you’re non Muslim and they shouldn’t clash with the prayer times held at the mosque.

Ancient Ruins
The Roman Baths and Open Air Museum in Ankara offer a glimpse into the ancient Roman bath complex dating back to the 3rd century CE. Built by Emperor Caracalla, these baths featured hot, warm, and cold rooms. Despite being destroyed by fire in the 8th century, the ruins still exude an aura of historical grandeur. Visitors can explore little stories, statues, and inscriptions that provide insights into Roman history.
An open-air history museum. It contains Roman and Ottoman Byzantine monuments, as well as the bath in the time of the Roman Empire... There are entrance fees and a museum card can also be used. Worth the visit because it is special
Ali A — Google review
Crazy how they have so much roman stuff outside and for a mere $3.5. However, only the basic information is given on the signs and most of the objects are named simply "Gravestone, Roman Period".
Arseniy B — Google review
Entry is 145 TL, the museum is clean and well arranged. A lot of tomb stones and pillars. There is no shade so be careful of sun. Also the exhibition hall were all closed but I think it's because it was all transfered to the Anadolu civilisation museum. It's still worth the visit

Surprisingly amazing remains of a Roman Bathroom and hypodrome It is highly suggested to see I wish there could be some facilities to stay there more than 20minutes
Halil K — Google review
The site has improved during the past couple of years, and there seems to be a Visor Centre/ Exhibit of sorts being built. My recommendations for this site would be to improve customer relations. Being shouted at by your door staff doesn't really endear me to continue brining custom to this site. Also, I understand some staff have a snooze behind the trees, fair play to them, but it doesn't inspire me with confidence when I See a half dozen members of staff sleeping under the trees next to displays. It completely lacks professionalism. Have a bit more info for the displays. Instead of saying "Roman Gravestone" have something describing what's said on the gravestone, if possible give us more info. There's a lot of potential for this site to be a great Historical Attraction, however they need to take customer relations more seriously and not having their staff having a kip during broad daylight.
Dave E — Google review
I absolutely loved this place. It’s a large space where you can walk around the ruins of the baths complex and they have a huge collection of grave stones in multiple languages from multiple centuries (I realize not everyone is into that but I am!). Plus a variety of other statues, sarcophagi, and other interesting things to look at. Also great views of the city. For the price it’s definitely worth a visit.

Located in Ankara, ANKAmall is a massive shopping center that has been serving visitors since 1999. With an impressive selection of international brands, the mall offers a diverse shopping experience. Visitors can take advantage of convenient underground parking and explore numerous dining options at the food court. Additionally, entertainment options include a cinema and arcade games for all ages to enjoy. The mall prioritizes accessibility with wheelchair-accessible facilities, including parking and entrances.
This was the biggest shopping mall I had seen in Turkey. It was even several times bigger than the Cevahir Shopping Mall in Istanbul. Lots of brands, big food court, popular with the people of Ankara. Overall, you can spend a whole day shopping in this mall.

It is the best shopping center in Ankara, which is delightful, diverse and crowded. Its design is easy and simple, the prices are lower than other centers, the restaurants are very diverse, there is a large children's playroom, a cinema, the cleanliness is clear, and the atmosphere is pleasant.

So crowded and noisy. At weekends it is almost impossible to walk. I don't advice you to visit this shopping mall at the weekends because of this fact. You can visit during the weekdays that it will be more breathtaking. It is hard to find a parking slot generally but the parking is free, you don't need to pay. Besides all, the shopping mall is very central and you can find almost all the stores there. From electronics to clothing, home furnitures etc. You can access this shopping mall using metro from many parts of the city.
Yasin B — Google review
It's a big 4-story mall next to the Crown Plaza Hotel with a number of familiar US companies like Dockers, Victoria Secret, as well as local brands. Some shops sell medium to high end items. There's a huge food court with almost all the US fast food like McDonald's, Berger King, KFC, Popeyes and the local Turkish food. Pretty good food and inexpensive. A giant Turkish pizza with 2 Cokes was 23 lira, about US 4.50 and Turkish tea is 1 lira.

I have never known such a concept village to be in Ankara. While you are walking, cows are passing and seeing them and more. That's outstanding experience you could have in city. I strongly recommend you to go with guest who come from out of ankara. You can get local flavors with good services.
MURAT — Google review
This is a wonderful place to see great nature, to enjoy a peaceful moment, to see animals (chicken, geese, sheep, goats, deer etc), and buildings - all of which resemble a village of the past. It is a popular place for models and brides to be photographed. There r restaurants at regular intervals so u can refresh yourself. This is a place to come to for the whole afternoon. I love the water- and windmill, the kid's parks, and a long swinging bridge. (Unfortunately, it was closed due to repair when we were there.) The only issue is the menus. Every restaurant sells literally the same unhealthy food. Most are sweets and processed snacks and gözleme, which is OK, but there's little filling and lots of dough. No side dish, salad or fruit available. The selection of drinks is also incredibly weak. No plant-based mylk or vegean snacks.
Bea — Google review
Really nicely kept outdoor museum of traditional village life. Lots of walking up and down hills but in the pleasant shade of weeping willow trees and the stream running amongst them, it was very enjoyable. Lots of play areas for kids makes it a very family friendly atmosphere. The suspension bridge was closed so we didn't get a chance to go on it, but looks like it would amazing to walk across.

Great place to visit. Very calm and moody place. Better to visit during spring as everything shall be lush green and fresh. I visited during winter but still the landscape was awesome there. There’s a hanging bridge which is closed for tourists, I guess for maintenance reasons but if it is open it would be of great interest for the visitors. Atatürk Forest Farm, located in Ankara, Turkey, is a sprawling recreational area spanning over 1 million square meters. This picturesque park was established by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and boasts a diverse collection of trees from around the world. Visitors can explore a rose garden, picnic grounds, and a farming museum showcasing antique agricultural tools. The farm also features a zoo with various wildlife and leisure farms to engage with animals.
It was great now I wonder what had happened to the zoo?

It was a bad trip because I did not have the required address. This location on Google Map is a zoo, but in reality it seems to be a security headquarters.

Isn’t that promising. There were only goats and some rabbits and that’s it. They literally don’t have enough water or food.. and no one there to clean that place up! Those goats and rabbits looked distressed as hell, goats literally trying to chew on the fences trying to escape.. idk if that’s normal behavior but it didn’t look normal. If anyone else wants to go there, you can, for Picknicks n such, but not for the animals.

Gençlik Parkı, also known as the Youth Park, is a vast recreational area located in Ankara. It offers paved walks alongside a pond, shaded benches for relaxation, and a small amusement park called Lunapark. The park is easily accessible by public or private transportation and is situated near the Ulus area. Upon entering the spacious park, visitors are greeted by a large fountain and can enjoy various games at the nearby amusement park.
Amazing big park in the heart of Ankara! The park is quite big and has a beautiful fountain in the middle and a theme park! Good for families

This park is truly beautiful, filled with lush plants, colorful flowers, and the calming presence of nature all around. My husband and I really enjoyed our morning jogs here—the fresh air, the birds singing, and even the friendly (though sometimes intimidating-looking!) dogs added to the experience. I believe the place has so much more potential. With proper care, regular maintenance, and perhaps the addition of small shops or cafés, it could easily become a popular spot not just for locals, but also for tourists. It’s a perfect space for jogging, walking, or simply relaxing with family and friends over a picnic. Turkish citizens are truly blessed to have such a park, but it’s a pity that it’s not being fully utilized or kept in its best condition. With a little more development and attention, this park could turn into a vibrant hub of activity and one of the highlights of the city.

Nice park to hang around and get away from noise and stress of the city. We visited during the day and the pond / fountain was not functional. I imagine if water is flowing then park becomes more attractive. The fair attractions, including the ferris wheel, were also not operational on the day of our visit. The park has several nice outdoor cafes and seating areas where one can relax. The Republic Museum and War of Independence Museum are walking distance from one entrance / exit to park.

I first visited this park when my parents brought me in 1962. We returned in 1973 to live up the street in Budak Sokak, and so I regularly passed through Kulu Park for three years. I’ve just retimed for the first time in 47 years. It’s still the same wonderful old park it has been for decades. A beautiful oasis in Ankara. The swans are still there, and the benches are full of people relaxing, watching their kids, talking, or just looking at the swans.,maşallah!

One standout store is Migros 5m, which is highly regarded by shoppers. Friendly salespeople can be found throughout the mall, creating a pleasant shopping experience for customers.
Let’s wander this beautiful world together! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a really special shopping experience at this mall. Its name might not often come up among the top malls in Ankara, but it’s definitely worth visiting. One thing that caught my attention was the stunning view of the city from the upper floors, especially on cloudy days. It gives you a calm and unique feeling – something you can’t even find in many malls in Istanbul. 🛍️ There were so many brands with a wide variety of products at really affordable and reasonable prices, suitable for everyone’s budget. Stores like Mr DIY, Ecrou, Madame Coco, and English Home… trust me, you won’t leave without buying something from them! 🍽️ The food court was also quite good. I highly recommend having your meal on the balcony area – that beautiful and different view is totally worth it. Overall, if you’re looking for a mall with a relaxing atmosphere, a unique vibe, and diverse affordable brands, don’t miss this place.

This is a nice shopping centre. Some of the more popular shops are Tchibo, KutuPlex, Rossmann... and then there are not so well-known brands. It used to be better, but I overheard customers speaking that now someone else owns it, and, well, it's not the same. There is an awesome super large gym here and a wonderful Shotokan Karate Do club. The food court is a disappointment as the only healthy and vegan thing I can get is a salad. There is also potato pide, but that is not the healthiest option. Eating out = ruining health. I love the Starbucks here. There is also a nice Migros. The place is clean, the layout nice. Not the biggest mall. It's located on a major street in a nice upper-middle class area.

Güvenpark is a lovely spot to take a break from the city's hustle and bustle. The tall trees provide plenty of shade, making it a perfect place for a relaxing walk or just sitting on a bench and enjoying the fresh air. The statues and monuments add a historical touch, and the central location makes it super easy to visit. It can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends, but that just adds to its charm. Whether you're passing by or looking for a quiet moment, it's worth stopping here. Definitely a refreshing spot in the middle of Kızılay!

The park is a detachment from the most crowded part of the city to chill for some minutes and decide your next step. There's always something going on Police are around, army, Red cross blood donations, International organization and much more camp here. But it's not very well designed. It's so small for the population and water fountains are usually out of service.

the place is always crowded with people hanging out around. the bus stops are always full of people waiting for their bus. the park is nice with a lot of seats available. but be careful of birds above you, they can drop some dirts. some rest rooms are underground near some marketplaces inside.

Güven Park is a park located in the heart of Ankara in Kizilay Square since the 1930s. It’s well-known as well for the “Trust Monument” located inside of it, which is a very beautiful monument dedicated to the Turkish police forces. The park is not-well maintained, very crowded due to the nature of its location, and also not clean. I don’t really recommend checking it out unless you’re really looking forward for the monument.

Everyone be very careful in Zara! They are adding additional things to your check at cashier! Using that I was busy with my kid they added me goods for 2600 tl which I didn't buy! When I had to come back to get my money they were very rude and unhelpful. Be careful in this store , the personal and attitude is horrible, not mentioning that they charge for more than you buy

its a shopping mall i guess it has a nice food court but there are too little "non-luxury" stores it really needs the other malls around to survive but regardless it's still pretty nice and iconic.

Visitors can enjoy minimal wait times and find refreshments such as ice cream, water, and corn outside the fair area. Additionally, there are light-up balloons for sale and a café within the park.
A place where you can have fun with family or friends, it's true there aren't too many attractions but it's still a great place to have a good time, especially at night with the lights and all the experience around.

It is right by the Ulus metro stop and can be a short walk there. It has a very close parking lot (50tl). The entrance fee was 10TL and then once inside you buy tickets (75tl per ticket) to ride whichever rides you want. Each ride was one ticket. There are some booths that accept visa and all accept cash. Some rides said people have to be over 14. There different types of rides, including kids rides, and it was pretty fun. It seems larger than amount of rides were actually allowed to go on. Some rides were closed down and not available. I would recommend if you like amusement park. The park it is in is very large, with an artificial lakes, picnic spots, and cafes.

I visited Göksü Park yesterday and had such a relaxing time! It’s a beautiful green space in Ankara with a large lake, walking paths, and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy nature. Families were out having picnics, kids were playing, and some people were enjoying boat rides on the lake. The atmosphere felt peaceful and refreshing perfect for a short escape from the city. I also loved the cafés by the water where you can enjoy tea with a nice view. Definitely a great place to unwind, walk, or spend time with loved ones! 😍🌳

There are only a few open air places in Ankara to have some fresh air and drink hot beverage. Göksu park and lake is the best option for the west side of town. Cafes are not top notch but adequate. You can have a peaceful night with friend watching the lake. Nargile (sisha) is also an option in some cafes. For children you can feed the geese and ducks. There is a train that encircles the lake for minors. And a mountain sled. Also you can have a picnic in the designated area...

Located in Ankara, ABB-Dikmen Vadisi Parkı is a significant landmark dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and serves as his mausoleum. The park features impressive monuments, interactive exhibits, and beautiful city landscapes. It offers a long walking track, children's playgrounds, sports equipment, and a stunning landscape for visitors to enjoy a peaceful time.
Nice park for walking, exercising and picnicking. I was here in April, most of the fountains were working, the pedestrian bridge to the south and some parts of the park were under renovation. However, everything was buried in greenery and one of the tree-lined alleys was all in color. If you have about 4 hours of free time, you can come to this park and walk around. Otherwise I don't see the point of visiting it.

beautiful sights are here and there but generally isnt worth climbing so many hills for. most fountains werent working and it wasnt a very pleasant sight to see.
Serval — Google review
A Beautiful but Slightly Flawed Green Escape Dikmen Park is a great, expansive park perfect for walking, with numerous ponds, trees, and a wide variety of plants and flowers. Every season brings new beauty as the foliage changes—especially stunning is the glimpse of Japan’s famous cherry blossoms right after spring begins. Perfect for fall seasons lovers as you see the colorful leaves in ground **Facilities & Activities:** The park has restaurants, a well-maintained outdoor kid playground . The masjid (mosque) is clean and maintaining well but public restrooms (though some need better upkeep). There are plenty of seating areas and picnic spots, as well as walking/running tracks, a climbing wall, two medium-sized soccer fields, and outdoor sports equipment. Security is present in certain areas, but many spots are unmonitored. **Safety Concerns:** Some buildings and areas appear **hazardous and dangerous** to explore—it’s unclear if there are hidden cameras. Additionally, many **stray dogs (untagged) roam freely**, making it slightly unsettling to walk alone in deeper sections. However, overall, the park feels relatively safe. **Biggest Downsides:** - **Overpriced food/drinks**: One restaurant under the bridge charged **150 TL for a lemonade** in a cheap, unsealed cup—a complete rip-off. Even mineral water costs **15 TL**, similar to inflated airport prices! The city should open **municipal-run shops** to offer fair pricing. - **Stray dogs** linger in the park’s inner areas and should be tagged or relocated. - **Restroom maintenance** is inconsistent—some are clean, others need attention. This is spring and autumn park perfect for people who like to roaming around and do 10.000 steps each day. For photography also there's plentiful spot to pick on Despite its flaws, Dikmen Park is a beautiful, relaxing space with lots to offer. With better pricing, safety measures, and maintenance, it could be even better!

Great aquarium! We went to it in May, the entrance was free. The aquarium is not very big, but there are many interesting things inside. 👍

Nice place with fish tunnel, turtles and crocodiles. If you have some free time, you could spend it here in a good way

Nature & Parks
The ABB-Çankaya Botanical Park is a serene and tranquil haven, perfect for unwinding and immersing oneself in nature's melodies. The park offers a picturesque backdrop with its lush greenery, providing ample seating areas to relax and enjoy the soothing sound of the wind rustling through the trees. Furthermore, visitors may be delighted to encounter wedding photography teams capturing precious moments as well as couples from diverse cultures, adding to the park's vibrant atmosphere.
Hidden Gem in the Heart of Ankara Tucked inside one of the most beautiful parks in Ankara, this café is something special. Right in the middle of the park, surrounded by greenery and a peaceful water fountain, you’ll find a coffee spot that’s more than just a place to grab a drink. The café is built inside what used to be a greenhouse and it still holds onto that charm. You can wander through the plants, soak in the natural light, and even buy a few if something catches your eye. The whole place has this calm, airy atmosphere that makes it perfect for studying, reading, or just escaping the noise of the city. The coffee? 9/10. The staff? Friendly and professional. And if you’re feeling bold (or just bored), there’s a piano you’re welcome to play. It’s aesthetically beautiful, full of unique little corners perfect for photos, and easily one of the best places in town to relax or get some work done. Highly recommend

Top spot in Ankara, Turkey! The botanical park has some beauuuuuutiful plants - just be careful of walking through many, many, maaaany Instagram photo shoots and be prepared for much side-eye from wannabe influencers

This park is an amazing escape from our busy life. They have the cutest benches and tables for you to have a quiet picnic or hangout with your friends and family. There's also a lake in the middle. We came here around noon and the weather was beautiful. We enjoyed our food and the scenery. It was very relaxing. You also get to see the Atakule tower from the garden.

Came here during winter and it was quiet as there weren't so many people around. You can access the park through the street uphill or from a path downhill. There is a pond and it appears to be dried out during the winter. There is also a structure that looks like a greenhouse but I didn't have the chance to go inside. There is an area that appeared to be an aquarium but apparently, it wasn't open when I got there. There is also an area for kids to play but it is located way uphill not in the downhill area.

Wonderful, peaceful, natural beauty ☺ Ankara Metropol City Municipality works better and keeps up this beauty by restoring the botanical area thanks to the biologists union!

Now you have the Park in its majestic aura of greenery and snaking walkways, a fountain, convenience facilities. Just overlooking the park is an enormous shopping mall.

The Feza Gürsey Science Centre is a great place for kids, as it offers a wide range of science-related exhibits. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the centre itself is well-maintained.
Amazing experience! I thought it is only useful for children but I was wrong. The Employees are very nice and helpful.

(Translated by Google) Altınpark is a center established for students to learn the basic principles of science in a fun environment. It is one of the first science centers in Turkey. Paid parking is available at the entrance of Altınpark's sports complex and swimming pool. If you are lucky, you can find parking on the side of the road. You reach the science center by walking a few hundred meters from the door. There is a workshop section on the ground floor of the museum, which has an entrance fee (50 TL for full, 40 TL for teachers and students). When we went, at 15:00, there was an experiment presentation with explanation of the experiment, the subject of which was electricity. I witnessed students having a good time and learning.

(Translated by Google) I've been to science centers in Konya, Bursa and Eskişehir before, there were so many activities for children, this place seemed too small for me. It's a place that can be visited in half an hour, but I waited 2 hours for the electrical experiment. The only good thing is the electrical experiment that lasts 10 minutes.

(Translated by Google) We had the chance to take our child to the center we went to as a child 30 years ago. There are 55 experiments inside. I can say that it appeals to children from the age of 4-5. Entrance fee is 40 TL, students are 30 TL. Children under 5 years old are free. There is a paid parking lot but its capacity is limited. We parked outside. If you are going on the weekend, you should go early to avoid parking problems. We spent a very enjoyable hour with my daughter. The employees who were involved in the experiments were very interested in my daughter, thank you very much. (Original) 30 yıl önce çocukken gittiğimiz merkeze çocuğumuzu götürmek nasip oldu. İçeride 55 tane deney mevcut. 4-5 yaşından itibaren çocuklara hitap ediyor diyebilirim. Giriş tam 40 tl öğrenci 30 tl. 5 yaş çocuk ücretsiz. Ücretli park yeri mevcut ancak kapasitesi az. Dışarıya park ettik biz. Haftasonu gidilecekse erken saatte gidilmeli park yeri sorunu yaşamamak için. Kızımla çok keyifli 1 saat geçirdik. Deneylerle ilgili çalışanlar yakından ilgilendiler kızımla, çok teşekkürler
