Interesting place to discover the ancient history of Turkey. Everything is very interesting until the roman area which comes short. Their is good explanations of the artifacts exposed ans the place is beautifull too. I fou have one thing to see in ankara I believe it is it.

Fabulous wealth of amazing artifacts from neolithic to Roman occupation times. I could have spent another 3 hours here, but for time constraints. The Sumerian, Hittite and Akkadian stone carvings and wall reliefs are jaw dropping!

A stunning museum that is home to majority of the Anatolian Civilizations Heritage. Infact, won European Museum of the Year Award in 1997 which is an award started to be given out 1977. It is one of the most interesting and beautiful museums of the country. A must visit! ☺️

This is one of the most important Museum about Anatolic antique culture and Art. It is a great journey into the ancient art from Paleolitic period with divine feminine little sculptures (paleolitic venus), mural paintings and graffiti, decorated & zoomorphic vases, the fascinating Grave Sun Disk Ornament and primitive utensils till 1.000 BC. But nonetheless, there’a central rooms with decorared walls from ancient temples and cities. A must-see place, expecially if you are not going to travel through the region to visit ancient ruins spread all over former Anatolia. The location of the Museum is also a nice quiet place within a nice little park and close to a typical turkish market descending back to the big avenues. The Museum has designed also some space dedicated to rest and have some talks when finished the tour. Finally, as a restored old marketplace, the building in itself is a pleasant spot in the caotic architectural melting pot of the capitol.

Ankara Kalesi is one of the most charming and underrated historical landmarks in Turkey. It’s overlooking the city, this ancient fortress has stunning panoramic views of Ankara that are worth the climb alone. Walking through the cobblestone streets and seeing lovely shops next to each other was fun!

The view from up there is simply amazing. The walls of this place carry a lot of stories that it had seen. The place is very old. It is a military castle as it contains the openings were soldiers used to sit to attack the enemies. The view from there is simply one of the best. I loved every thing I saw. If you are in the area nearby, this place is not to be missed.

Highest point of the castle is a good place for the panorama view of the whole Ankara. Antik shops and cafe shops worth paying a visit. No ticket was required for the castle.

It’s interesting to see how the ruins are hidden in the middle of the city. You can barely see them from the Main Street down below. The layout of the castle are has been somewhat preserved but all you see are partial walls. The view from up in these walls is very nice though. Both facing city as facing The background mounts. It’s best visited if you have someone local to point out what is what in the city view…otherwise it’s just a bunch of buildings seen from a distance.

On my second visit to Ankara I was happy to see this historic and wonderful Castle. It is one of the must-visit destinations in the city for tourists. I have been waiting for this for a long time, it came true today I found myself at Ankara Castle. I saw a big number of tourists including national and international like Chinese the most. From the top you can grasp the beauty of the Capital with a wide landscape. There are also charming traditional houses and small shops selling local crafts and souvenirs, adding to the authentic atmosphere. The museum is amazing and has some really good vintage cars. There are other things and personally collections from koc family too. The museum also offers a cafe. Teachers and students pay a discounted price of 50 TL. Usual price is 100 TL

Mind blowing and beautiful. We are not sure what the theme of the museum is hahaha, it has tons of EVERYTHING, literally, but each corner is amazing and you just keep saying "wow" over and over. Very reasonably priced, we were there for at least 2 hours and I'm sure we didn't even finish half of the exhibits, this museum is massive and encompasses several buildings. Truly unique and marvelous, a must see in Ankara.

I really loved the musum. As someone interested in history and the people, it gave me really good glimpse into the life and profession of the Turkish people in the past century. The other part of the musum, which included the collection of many things, from model trains and model ships, to hunting gear, submarine and ship parts, etc, was really interesting as well. I spend more than two hours there, and I think I should've spent more.

It's simply great place to visit - lots of different models and original mechanisms all over the world, you'll find miniaturized ships and planes, rarity cars like Ford T or Messerschmitt KR200, the historical background of the museum building is also affected telling visitors the story of handicrafts in Ottoman Empire. The whole visit could take up to few hours because exposition is quite huge, but it's really worth it.

I loved my visit to the mosque. A lot if history present. New mosque is very beautiful inside. Visited the grave of Haci Bayram and offered fatiha. There are some nice restaurants and shops around to spend time in your own or with family

Came to visit this mosque and spend the day out with the family on this Sunday. The kids enjoyed the day and had a lot of fun. We were able to pray and get something to eat. All in all it was quality time and spiritual experience. We were able to come by car and it has free of charge underground parking.

Ulus is typically known to be a more dangerous area of Ankara so definitely be aware of your surroundings. I was approached by a few children begging for money near the hacibayram mosque and when I gave a few lyras, a whole swarm of children surrounded me and kept following me to give them more money. At one point, I had to speeded up my walk as they tugged my shirt and bag. So definitely be careful in the area. Ankara isn’t used to tourists so there will be a few curious faces when they see a foreigner and some will even offer you food out of kindness, just politely decline as much as possible because you never know the intentions of people and they might’ve poisoned it. Other than that, the area was beautiful to see because of the Rocky Mountains and the Ankara castle from afar (you can walk to that too!)

Haci Bayram Mosque is the most spiritual place in Ankara. The mosque and the neighbourhood are beautiful inside and outside, day and night. It is very historical. The propery is very clear. Thanks to the restoration it has a fresh look and live all the time. In summer times, you can listen to music next to small pools... Ablution facilities are also very good. Just it can be better using paper towel.

Amazing view! The ticket prices were 100 TL for students and 200 TL for adults to access the terrace (not the very top). If you want to go all the way up to the highest level of Atakule, it costs 300 TL for students and 600 TL for adults. I highly recommend visiting this place. there’s a shopping center and a beautiful, peaceful park nearby.

Cheque and prestigious shopping mall. Beautiful view to the jungle, good places to dine and for drinks, specially the top restaurant, The Nakia. You cant find all brands but there are good one there like vakko, vakkorama, fash fed, super steps, swarovski, pandora and more. Dont expect to find zara, mango, nike store, adidas store or brands sort of like this. There is a cinema and a play house for kids and young children. Visit Atakule with your family and enjoy your time.

This is a very nice mall to visit. The view from there is very beautiful. Add to that, this mall has a good collection of shops and restaurants that will help you find what you are looking for. Moreover, I liked the cars and motorcycles inside the mall. Keep up the good work.

Not a full scale shopping centre, but has got basic needs shops. Food court has very limited restaurants. Interior looks are simple though. Recommended for outer views only.

My favorite place in Ankara. Small but you can find all. Big choice of restaurants. I love to tower, and terrace as well. The garden in front incredible and new flower shop in that glass house nearby.

A spacious and green park, great for walking or having a picnic. There are playgrounds and plenty of seating — perfect for families. Some areas could be better maintained, but overall a very pleasant place to relax!

What a sad waste of space, why even have this massive artificial lake that the locals refer to as a "pool" when you take the water out? It is also ironic that the park is called "young park" in The overwhelming majority of the people visiting are the elderly simply loitering about?

Google maps guided us through this place to lead us to our destination. The walk inside this park was nice. We enjoyed the birds in the morning hours. I loved seeing the green parrot too. It is a nice place to enjoy spending time in especially with its quiet mornings. If you are around, you can have a nice walk in here.

More of a family park with lots of animations, cafes, fair, games. Some water bassins, fountains, benches. Very well kept and clean. Free of use bathrooms around the park too. Not that much greenery though, you won't feel immersed in nature.

The park was absolutely wonderful—everything about it was very pleasant. It was clean and well-kept, and the atmosphere was lovely. People in the area were calm and easygoing. The neighborhood was very simple and quiet. However, almost all the shops were closed. I couldn’t find a place to get even a single meal or a cup of coffee.

I went there with a group of foreigners friends. We spent a good time Had fun Enjoyed our time And took some nice pictures around the park. Luna park is also inside! Nice place for kids and young people. Access to the park is free of charge. Access to Luna Park is paid. Access to the games inside Luna Park are paid for each game separately. You can go there by different means of transportation, the easiest was the metro from Kızılay to the closest metro station. NB. Most of the games are paid in cash. We visited on a quiet weekday morning, thoroughly enjoying the Mehmet Sinan Kuran ''Post Narrative'' exhibit. The other exhibit held little interest so we skipped it. I wish there was more to see. We also had a good iced americano and tiramisu snack. Friendly cafe staff.

Free entrance for an exhibition on Atatürk at the time of our visit. Nice space with an outdoor and indoor cafe, a souvenir shop with local creators, a live music venue. Overall a very pleasant vibe

beautiful, nicely organized and interesting. i wish i could catch more exhibitions, however, there's only one available at the moment. there is a cafe and a gift shopnear the museum. coffee was good and I fell in kov with the artworks and accesoires in the shop.

The New & Now exhibit closing party was great. Lite snacks and drinks and an acapela group that sang in various places throughout the gallery. Really well curated exhibit and can't wait to see what's next.

Went here for a tasting and book review. Was a good event overall. This place has a nostalgic vibe and is quite interesting overall. I would definitely attend more events here and recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different to do in Ankara. Getting there is quite easy and there is ample parking. I am especially excited for movie nights in summer which apparently is an outdoor event. Just a bit of culture in a city which lacks these kinda venues.

The basic parking lot with no designated spaces and a single entry/exit point further increases the risk of collisions. Upgrading the infrastructure is crucial. Dedicated bike lanes, proper sidewalks, and a well-maintained parking area are essential. Even bike rentals would be a welcome addition. Basic amenities also need attention. The lone restaurant lacks secure bike parking, and the restrooms appear neglected. A lack of dedicated prayer areas and stray dog packs add to the concerns. With proper care, Eymir Lake has the potential to be an amazing getaway. Let's hope for improvements to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

It is a beautiful place for walking or if you want you can rent a bike, there some restaurants close to the lake unfortunately I didn't have the chance to taste them they took more than 40 minutes for my food and I had to go back. You can go by bus (190 opera) but it is gonna be a long road and you need to schedule your go back cause there's just one bus per hour.

Ohh how beautiful it is, away from the crowds, you can come with friends, family, or even alone, you can walk, run, ride your bike, which you can borrow there. Beautiful scenery, fresh, clean air. You'll find animals and birds, and it's definitely worth a visit, especially on a weekend morning.

The lake is beautiful by it's nature and clean air. You aren't allowed to enter the park by your private car. Only the cars with METU sticker are allowed to enter. What I think is that they shouldn't be let in either. Then I will give five stars. In the lake there are happy animals. You can rent a bike and ride around the lake. Also you can have a small picnic inside. Another option is taking a walk around that you will enjoy fresh air and the lake view. I recommend those who want to have a breathe and enyoj the nature visiting Eymir Lake.

So quiet place at night. You can rent a bike to make a tour around the lack in the morning. There's a restaurant u can order some snacks or food and enjoy eating it with the nice view of the lack.

If you are looking for a quite and serene place to escape from city life (Ankara) Eymir lake is the place. It is quite natural, with a lake stretching along. You can rent a bike for 10 to 15 Turkish liras per hour. You can also dine in the forest on your own or from the restaurants there. It is very safe place, a lot of people and families with their kids hung-out there.

I stopped by this place while I was at the neta vega mall. The place is beautiful and it helps you escape for a few from the city noise. I liked the fish they have. Their wildlife experience is more of snakes and lizards. I loved seeing the crocodile. All in all it was a good experience.

The aquatium had two floors which came as a nice surprise. They also had tropical/exotic animals corner (beware of snakes, spiders, lizards, small monkey, if zou fear them). It is really nicely taken care of place. The spaces are big and i think the fish are not stressed-they seem really healthy. On the lower floor there is a big aquarium with the tunnel, where a lot of fish are. I really like the seating spaces and piano background sound.

The aquarium was a great experience for kids. We enjoyed every single minute there. There were many different types of fish and animals, spread over two floors. We even got to feed some of the fish for 100TL. The entrance fee was reasonable, 190TL for adults and 130TL for kids.

I am worried about the level of knowledge of the keepers. Especially worried about the poor snakes. We came in while most of the snakes were in blue (shedding). We did not see a single snake that was able to shed in one healthy piece. The green tree pythons each scale had skin coming off it individually. The humidity in their enclosures are not set correctly with what levels they need in mind. The ball python was compensating by soaking itself in its water dish. Either get people who knows what conditions needs to be met to take care of these animals, or let them go somewhere where there are people who do know how to take care of these animals. As another negative comment: the monkeys area smelled awful, I almost gagged. I had to hold my breath passing by them. Poor animals are being forced to live under cruel conditions at this “aquarium”. Do not come here and do not support these animal abusers.

We paid 1920TL which means 320TL per person. The aquarium was beautiful and the creatures we saw were amazing. Sometimes the water was not clear and the glass needed cleaning. Some of the water motors and equipments were warned out. Otherwise we enjoyed our time there. I recommend visiting specially as a family activity.

Such a nice place for kids in Ankara. It’s well maintained. Prices are reasonable. Being inside a mall will gives you so many after party options as well.

The aquarium fee was quite expensive. I paid 94 for 4. For a family, it will enjoy looking at sea creatures and some reptiles. For a couple or if you are alone, it would a unique experience only if you go for the first time in your life as many other countries offer better.

Mosque is a magnificent structure and a must-visit in Ankara. The architecture is stunning, and the sheer size of the mosque is awe-inspiring. What truly made our visit memorable was the kindness of the imam, who took the time to share valuable insights about Islam and the mosque itself. He even allowed us to go up to the top of the minarets, offering an incredible view of the city. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the interior is beautifully designed. A wonderful experience that deepened my appreciation for this cultural and spiritual landmark!

Kocatepe Mosque (Kocatepe Camii) is the largest and one of the most iconic mosques in Ankara, Turkey. Located in the Kocatepe quarter of the city, it was completed in 1987 after two decades of construction. The architecture is stunning, visited there on Friday. Anybody can visit unless follow the rules such as covering yourself wear scarf.

Amazing Masjid. It's so huge. The architecture is marvellous. The imam has beautiful voice and recitation of Quran with Tajweed is mind blowing. Must visit if you are nearby Ankara.

Honestly all the masjid in Türkiye are just mind blowing to me since this trip was the first time I’ve been in this country and I wasn’t raised around such grand masjid (I come from Hong Kong). It surprised me so much that to a lot of the locals here, such grand architecture and art in the masjid are so normalised to them since they’re seeing it everyday. As usual, do check when the visiting hours are if you’re non Muslim and they shouldn’t clash with the prayer times held at the mosque.

Crazy how they have so much roman stuff outside and for a mere $3.5. However, only the basic information is given on the signs and most of the objects are named simply "Gravestone, Roman Period".

Entry is 145 TL, the museum is clean and well arranged. A lot of tomb stones and pillars. There is no shade so be careful of sun. Also the exhibition hall were all closed but I think it's because it was all transfered to the Anadolu civilisation museum. It's still worth the visit

A small but well preserved site. In Ankara, the best place to see Roman ruins. It also has an interesting view of the city and makes for a nice place to walk if the weather is good.

Entry fee 130 TL cash only. Google maps entrance is wrong. Very few tourists. Grounds are well kept.

Surprisingly amazing remains of a Roman Bathroom and hypodrome It is highly suggested to see I wish there could be some facilities to stay there more than 20minutes

The site has improved during the past couple of years, and there seems to be a Visor Centre/ Exhibit of sorts being built. My recommendations for this site would be to improve customer relations. Being shouted at by your door staff doesn't really endear me to continue brining custom to this site. Also, I understand some staff have a snooze behind the trees, fair play to them, but it doesn't inspire me with confidence when I See a half dozen members of staff sleeping under the trees next to displays. It completely lacks professionalism. Have a bit more info for the displays. Instead of saying "Roman Gravestone" have something describing what's said on the gravestone, if possible give us more info. There's a lot of potential for this site to be a great Historical Attraction, however they need to take customer relations more seriously and not having their staff having a kip during broad daylight.

I absolutely loved this place. It’s a large space where you can walk around the ruins of the baths complex and they have a huge collection of grave stones in multiple languages from multiple centuries (I realize not everyone is into that but I am!). Plus a variety of other statues, sarcophagi, and other interesting things to look at. Also great views of the city. For the price it’s definitely worth a visit.

A perfect small mall next to my hotel ,CPANKARA, 5M Migros inside the mall . Brand name shops and an information desk . An exchange office is inside the mall, although their rates are not favorable. Reasonably priced items .

Not clean at all dead mice in the mall staff do not clean or look after this place. This is at the Starbucks seating area.

It is the best shopping center in Ankara, which is delightful, diverse and crowded. Its design is easy and simple, the prices are lower than other centers, the restaurants are very diverse, there is a large children's playroom, a cinema, the cleanliness is clear, and the atmosphere is pleasant.

So crowded and noisy. At weekends it is almost impossible to walk. I don't advice you to visit this shopping mall at the weekends because of this fact. You can visit during the weekdays that it will be more breathtaking. It is hard to find a parking slot generally but the parking is free, you don't need to pay. Besides all, the shopping mall is very central and you can find almost all the stores there. From electronics to clothing, home furnitures etc. You can access this shopping mall using metro from many parts of the city.

It's a big 4-story mall next to the Crown Plaza Hotel with a number of familiar US companies like Dockers, Victoria Secret, as well as local brands. Some shops sell medium to high end items. There's a huge food court with almost all the US fast food like McDonald's, Berger King, KFC, Popeyes and the local Turkish food. Pretty good food and inexpensive. A giant Turkish pizza with 2 Cokes was 23 lira, about US 4.50 and Turkish tea is 1 lira.

Ankamall has everthing you need. However it gets crowded as the hallways are a bit narrow. As for their supermarket in the lower floor, you wish you were living in the area as it is huge and has fabulous sales. This mall is one of the major malls in Ankara. You shouldnt miss it. Easy access by train, bus, or dolmuş. Convenient with great events during holidays.

Beautiful and big shopping center. You'll need a whole day to see it all. I'm not sure if you are going to find all the brands there, but it's worth visiting once or twice.

This place is one big walking space... Excellent for brisk walking while enjoying the village scenery. The exhibits offer an interesting glimpse into past Turkish life that may still exist, albeit in their original places.

I have never known such a concept village to be in Ankara. While you are walking, cows are passing and seeing them and more. That's outstanding experience you could have in city. I strongly recommend you to go with guest who come from out of ankara. You can get local flavors with good services.

This is a wonderful place to see great nature, to enjoy a peaceful moment, to see animals (chicken, geese, sheep, goats, deer etc), and buildings - all of which resemble a village of the past. It is a popular place for models and brides to be photographed. There r restaurants at regular intervals so u can refresh yourself. This is a place to come to for the whole afternoon. I love the water- and windmill, the kid's parks, and a long swinging bridge. (Unfortunately, it was closed due to repair when we were there.) The only issue is the menus. Every restaurant sells literally the same unhealthy food. Most are sweets and processed snacks and gözleme, which is OK, but there's little filling and lots of dough. No side dish, salad or fruit available. The selection of drinks is also incredibly weak. No plant-based mylk or vegean snacks.

Really nicely kept outdoor museum of traditional village life. Lots of walking up and down hills but in the pleasant shade of weeping willow trees and the stream running amongst them, it was very enjoyable. Lots of play areas for kids makes it a very family friendly atmosphere. The suspension bridge was closed so we didn't get a chance to go on it, but looks like it would amazing to walk across.

Great place to visit. Very calm and moody place. Better to visit during spring as everything shall be lush green and fresh. I visited during winter but still the landscape was awesome there. There’s a hanging bridge which is closed for tourists, I guess for maintenance reasons but if it is open it would be of great interest for the visitors. It is merely a walking distance from the bus station and the neighboring community also blends seamlessly into this landscape. The ticket price is 5 Turkish Lira for adults.

Nice and interesting place especially for kids curious about planes and aviation. At the open air exebition area u can see 20-25 retired planes and 2 cockpits available for sit in. At the second floor there is a small cafe.

Güvenpark is a lovely spot to take a break from the city's hustle and bustle. It is right by the Ulus metro stop and can be a short walk there. It has a very close parking lot (50tl). The entrance fee was 10TL and then once inside you buy tickets (75tl per ticket) to ride whichever rides you want. Each ride was one ticket. There are some booths that accept visa and all accept cash. Some rides said people have to be over 14. There different types of rides, including kids rides, and it was pretty fun. It seems larger than amount of rides were actually allowed to go on. Some rides were closed down and not available. I would recommend if you like amusement park. The park it is in is very large, with an artificial lakes, picnic spots, and cafes.

Luna park was great. All rides cost 35tl as a standard and there is something for all ages here. Not much of a wait to go on rides, outside the fair area there was plenty of ice cream being served, water, corn and light up balloons for sale. There is also a cafe in the park. Staff were friendly and it was a great experience overall. The taxi office within the park was closed so just cross the road opposite and you will see a queue of taxis there. Will definitely be back here, great experience

I visited Göksü Park yesterday and had such a relaxing time! It’s a beautiful green space in Ankara with a large lake, walking paths, and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy nature. Families were out having picnics, kids were playing, and some people were enjoying boat rides on the lake. The atmosphere felt peaceful and refreshing perfect for a short escape from the city. I also loved the cafés by the water where you can enjoy tea with a nice view. Definitely a great place to unwind, walk, or spend time with loved ones! 😍🌳

There are only a few open air places in Ankara to have some fresh air and drink hot beverage. Göksu park and lake is the best option for the west side of town. Cafes are not top notch but adequate. You can have a peaceful night with friend watching the lake. Nargile (sisha) is also an option in some cafes. For children you can feed the geese and ducks. There is a train that encircles the lake for minors. And a mountain sled. Also you can have a picnic in the designated area...

One of the best parks in Eryaman locality of Ankara. The park has small lake with boating as well. There are number of restaurants around the lake but never tried it. Furthermore, there are number of sports fields( football, tennis, basketball) . There are also play area for kids. It also has hit for dinning but beware making barbecue is forbidden.

Probably one of my favorite places in Turkey. I lovely artificial lake with plenty of facilities to enjoy a nice lazy stroll or meal. I go every year to Ankara and visit the Trasatlantic Oil Co. which is in the same building , for that reason I go to the mall always. Is really beautiful designed. This park is an amazing escape from our busy life. They have the cutest benches and tables for you to have a quiet picnic or hangout with your friends and family. There's also a lake in the middle. We came here around noon and the weather was beautiful. We enjoyed our food and the scenery. It was very relaxing. You also get to see the Atakule tower from the garden.

Came here during winter and it was quiet as there weren't so many people around. You can access the park through the street uphill or from a path downhill. There is a pond and it appears to be dried out during the winter. There is also a structure that looks like a greenhouse but I didn't have the chance to go inside. There is an area that appeared to be an aquarium but apparently, it wasn't open when I got there. There is also an area for kids to play but it is located way uphill not in the downhill area.
