Nestled in the heart of Bali, the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a captivating Hindu temple complex surrounded by lush jungle. This enchanting destination is famous for its playful long-tailed macaques, who roam freely among ancient temples adorned with intricate carvings. Visitors can immerse themselves in both nature and spirituality as they explore this community-led sanctuary, which serves as a hub for scientific research and cultural preservation.
The Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud was one of the highlights of my trip to Bali. The moment you step inside, you feel like you’ve entered a magical jungle—huge banyan trees, moss-covered statues, and peaceful temple ruins all hidden within the forest. It’s not just a tourist attraction, it really feels like a sacred place. Of course, the monkeys are the stars here. They’re playful, cheeky, and endlessly entertaining to watch. I loved seeing them jump from tree to tree, care for their babies, and interact naturally with each other. It felt like being a guest in their world rather than just looking at animals behind cages. What impressed me most is how well the sanctuary is maintained. The paths are clean and easy to walk, the temples are stunning, and there are staff around to make sure both visitors and monkeys stay safe. I also appreciated the clear rules—they remind you to respect the animals and enjoy observing them without disturbing their natural behavior or even to feed them. I’d recommend going in the morning when it’s cooler and less crowded. Bring your camera (you’ll want a hundred photos!), but keep your belongings secure because the monkeys are curious and love to “borrow” things.
Souad Y — Google review
This was my 4th time visiting the monkey forest and I loved it. Despite what you hear about monkey aggression, you just have to follow the rules and signs. I did make eye contact with a monkey by accident and it grabbed me which I found quite funny to be honest. It didn’t hurt me, and it was my mistake lol. To add to that, I have never been attacked or seen anyone badly injured here. Honestly, it was heartwarming to see the local Balinese bonding and feeding the monkeys, you can tell they are trained and know what they are doing. I really enjoy the fact that these monkeys are able to free roam. It may be scary for humans, but it is great that they are not chained or caged. It is so nice to see the Balinese genuinely care for these gorgeous animals. At the end of the day, you are in the monkeys home. Treat them with respect and they shall leave you be. It’s a really beautiful and breezy area. The natural landscape of this place is breathtaking.
Erin M — Google review
A nice casual walk in the park. There are a lot of monkeys but they are not aggressive. There are conservation staff around to park to ensure that the interactions between the guests and monkeys are safe and ethical. The monkeys are not particularly afraid of humans and may climb onto a person, although no feeding is allowed. Most part of the park is shaded and in forest area. Bring bug spray. There’s a nice and easy walking trail through the forest and lots of relics to look at.

If you're a fan of monkeys and Balinese sculpture, you will love this lush green forest. It is a well-designed sanctuary with a good pathway system that makes for an easy walk. The monkeys are everywhere and very entertaining to see. It was a great spot to spend an hour or so.
Radley C — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful, magical, and full of wanderlust energy! Monkeys are everywhere swinging from trees, lounging on railings, and living their best lives. The forest itself feels like stepping into another world, surrounded by lush greenery and ancient temples covered in moss. It’s incredible to watch these monkeys up close (just hold onto your belongings!). I had such a fun and unforgettable experience here. The monkeys truly seem to be living great lives in their sacred jungle home.
Rachel F — Google review
Our visit to the Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud was one of the most unforgettable highlights of our trip to Bali as a couple. From the moment we entered the lush, green sanctuary, we were transported into a magical world where nature, culture, and wildlife coexist in the most serene and fascinating way. The towering ancient trees and moss-covered statues created an almost otherworldly atmosphere—perfect for strolling hand in hand and taking in the beauty and spirituality of the space. The Balinese architecture and sacred temples scattered throughout the forest added a deep cultural richness to the experience. The monkeys themselves were a joy to watch—cheeky, clever, and completely in their element. We followed the guidelines and kept a respectful distance, which allowed us to enjoy their antics without feeling uneasy. Watching them play, groom, and leap through the trees was pure entertainment, and seeing the babies clinging to their mothers was heart-melting. What made it extra special as a couple was how peaceful and bonding the experience felt. It wasn’t just a tourist attraction—it was a walk through living, breathing spirituality and nature. We took time to sit on a bench together, surrounded by ancient trees and the sound of the forest, just soaking it all in. Truly a memory we’ll always share. Highly recommend visiting early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the quiet majesty of the place. Whether you’re seeking connection, culture, or just a bit of cheeky monkey fun, this sanctuary is a must-visit. A perfect stop for couples exploring the heart of Ubud.
Scott S — Google review
Amazing! The monkeys were very chill during our visit. I had heard stories about them stealing belongings, but we didn’t see any of that. The place felt peaceful, entertaining, and truly magical.
Maritza B — Google review
I absolutely love the Sacred Monkey Forest. It is one of my favorite places to visit in Ubud. There are a few monkeys that can be a bit territorial, but the majority of them are extremely comfortable with all the people and just want to play or chill out. You can buy tickets in advance, but you don’t need to. There are plenty of kiosks or if you prefer to purchase them from a person, I’ve never seen much of a line.

Bali Zoo, situated in the cultural Gianyar Regency, is a large zoo that offers a unique experience as the only Balinese-owned private zoo on the island. It opened in 2002 and is licensed by the Ministry of Forestry and government conservation institute. The zoo spans 12 acres and features a variety of animals including orangutans, elephants, African lions, and more. Visitors can enjoy interactive encounters with the animals as well as shows during their visit.
Bali Zoo was such a wonderful experience for our family! 🦓🦒🐘 The zoo is very clean, well-organized, and beautifully designed with lots of greenery. We loved how close we could get to the animals — feeding elephants and deer was a highlight for the kids! The staff were friendly and always ready to help, making the whole visit smooth and enjoyable. There are also plenty of shows and interactive programs, so it’s not just about walking around but really engaging with the animals. We also enjoyed the cafes and resting areas inside, which made the visit even more comfortable. Overall, Bali Zoo is a great place to spend a half or full day, especially for families with children. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Bali! 🌴✨

We visited Balizoo on the 2/10/25. This was a wonderful all day experience. The open spaces for the animals gives reassurance that they are well cared for. Each animal having their own story told via the zoo wardens. We fed and rode the elephants, being able to get up close and personal with them was a great experience.Rahning and Adi were our guides for the Behind Closed Doors tour. Both are very good communicators, are knowledgeable about the individual animals, their back stories… Both Rahning and Adi were very engaging, confident and reassuring, they both enriched our experience at Balizoo. Thank you to everyone at Balizoo for making a wonderful experience for us.🫶

I really enjoyed my time here. I went around midday on a Wednesday and there were very few people there. They had large roped areas for lines for tickets and the shuttle - however I never had to line up. Everything was smooth. I thought it would be super hot, but they’ve done a great job with shaded footpaths. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. All the enclosures felt well cared for and clean. A highlight for me was feeding the Lemurs! For 200k you could feed them. They had someone who could take photos of you using your own phone (great for me as I was alone). I wish they had a clear schedule for feeding times so you know when they are doing it. I just happened to show up at the right time There are plenty of food options with both restaurants and snack shops.

We had so much fun at the Bali Zoo! We purchased the combo package that included the Elephant Expedition and the Behind Closed Doors tour. It was wonderfully organized and we have memories to last us a lifetime! Our guides Rahning and Angga were amazing 🤩. They were very informative, funny, and interactive with the people on the tour. They separated the tour into small groups so you weren’t on it with too many people. It worked out great! We even got to go to the tiger and lion cages to feed them food! 😱 this is a must-do when visiting Bali, 10/10 recommend!

We had an amazing day at Bali Zoo. The place is spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with lots of greenery. The animals look well taken care of and the enclosures are well maintained. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We especially loved the animal encounters – feeding the elephants and deer was such a fun experience. Perfect place to visit with kids, very educational and enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit when in Bali!

I absolutely loved the Bali Zoo! It was an experience unlike any other that I have ever had and I have been going to the zoo since I was a kid. I’ve been to the zoo in California, Amsterdam, New Jersey, And other places and this was one the more intimate and beautiful experiences that I can say that I’ve had. I can tell that the people really care for the animals. They are about preserving the species that are endangered and educating people about the animals. I might end up going back before I finish my stay if not I hope these picture ls and videos encourage others to go. I did the Behind Closed Doors experience which allows you to have a light lunch, visit the zoo and then experience the behind the scenes safari where you can feed the lions, tiger, elephants, ostrich, and several other animals and learn about the operations of the zoo and the animals. They use positive reinforcement at the zoo which I also liked and makes me happy as an animal lover and lover of nature and living things. I’m giving this experience and destination 5 stars for the zoo and staff not for the life lunch provided lol that’s all I will say there. They are a zoo not a 5 star restaurant but where there is Bintang beer in Bali I’m happy 🤷🏾‍♀️🫶🏾🙌🏾❤️😍

We had a great time at Bali Zoo! The place is clean, well kept, and surrounded by beautiful greenery. The highlight was definitely feeding the deer and elephants such a fun and memorable experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the entrance package feels a bit overpriced for what’s included.

had an amazing experience at Bali Zoo! The place is clean, well organized, and full of beautiful animals. The shows and interactions were unforgettable. I especially want to thank Subagia and Eko for their kindness and hospitality — they were incredibly helpful and made the visit even more enjoyable. Their passion and friendliness truly stood out. Highly recommend visiting this place! 🌿🦁✨

Nestled in the village of Batubulan, Bali Bird Park is a haven for bird enthusiasts. Spanning 2 hectares, it features over 1000 exotic birds and around 250 reptile species, including the renowned Komodo dragon. Visitors can enjoy captivating bird shows, feedings, and displays while taking leisurely strolls through the park's lush surroundings.
One of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen! Birds are well-treated and safely supervised by the staff. Some of them are free to run around the park and are extremely lovely. You can see that here the animals are respected with good care. The only thing, I recommend to buy the tickets online because you will be able to save more money than at the desk! But in any case, 2000% recommend visiting! And please remember to not touch (if not allowed by the staff) and respect all the birds in the park.
Marta R — Google review
📍 Bali Bird Park Review The Bali Bird Park is absolutely one of my favorite experiences in Bali—so much so that I’m already planning to come back next time I visit! I was so excited about this place. Out of everything I’ve done here, this stood out the most. I didn’t just like it—I insanely loved it! The variety of birds is stunning, and the staff do a great job presenting them in a way that feels engaging without being overwhelming. The grounds are lush and beautifully maintained, and the interactive bird shows are a real highlight—you get to see the birds up close in action. What really blew me away was how incredibly interactive and friendly the birds are. I thought I’d spend maybe 2 or 3 hours here, but I could have stayed all day. Every moment was a new adventure—looking, playing, and feeding the birds. It felt less like visiting a park and more like being part of a living, magical conversation with nature. There are even flocks of flamingos and hens roaming around freely, which feels surreal and delightful, like they’ve casually decided to join your walk. Alongside them, the park has well-kept aviaries that house other species in lush little habitats, giving you a mix of spontaneous encounters and curated beauty. One thing I’d skip next time is the lunch package—the food wasn’t very special, and meanwhile, everyone else was enjoying the birds. Better to eat outside so you don’t miss any of the magic inside. If you love animals, colors, and joy, the Bali Bird Park is pure wonder. I can’t recommend it enough—and I absolutely can’t wait to return.
Vikki L — Google review
The most gorgeous and interesting birds! The park itself is lovely. The landscaping and enclosures looked great. The information presentations were very engaging and fun. They let you feed some of the birds, you can have pictures holding the birds. I was impressed with the food at the restaurant- we ordered a la carte, and we had nasi goreng, spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti bolognese. The kids loved their pastas, and the nasi was delicious. Oh! Also we got spring rolls which were absolutely perfect. The toilets at the park were like fancy hotel toilets; with air conditioning and very clean and well maintained cubicles. Impressive for Bali! We had a wonderful, fun, educational day. Loved it!
Jo O — Google review
Great park friendly staff and plenty to see. We had to do a quick tour due to other commitments but really enjoyed the hour we were there. They even have a couple of kamodo dragons as well. They do daily feeding sessions with some of the animals and you can hold the parrots for a nice picture. Set in beautiful grounds give it a go you will enjoy
Davo P — Google review
It was an awesome experience for the whole family! The kids even got to feed the birds – really fun and interesting. I never got the feeling that the animals aren’t well taken care of; everything looks clean and nicely maintained. The restaurant was great too, delicious food! We’d love to come back.
Stefan S — Google review
This was such a fun and full day out with my toddler! She and I both loved it. The staff are incredible, the grounds and enclosures are stunning, and there are several opportunities to ‘interact’ with birds as well as see special ‘shows’. The ticket is a bit expensive, but overall with it. The food though is not great, so bring your own picnic (and water !!! As water is 42,000 for a bottle)
Athena C — Google review
Worth it! First off, you’ll get to see an amazing variety of tropical birds. Big ones! Colorful ones! You can even hold them!! The shows throughout the day get you very up close and personal with the birds. The Komodo dragons were an unexpected bonus. Got to watch them eat!
Calvin S — Google review
A wonderful experience! The Bali Bird Park is a true 5-star gem. The birds are absolutely beautiful and the recreated natural habitat is stunning. A must-see for all nature and bird lovers. You can get up close and personal with many species, making it a very special and unforgettable visit.

The Campuhan Ridge Walk is a delightful escape into nature, perfect for those looking to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life. This scenic trail offers a gentle hike with breathtaking views of lush hills and valleys, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls or cycling. Starting at the historic confluence of the Wos River, this trek allows you to immerse yourself in Ubud's natural beauty while breathing in the fresh air.
We went on this walk at 6.30am to avoid the heat and crowds. It was overcast and cooler than normal. Depending on on fitness level this is a easy walk. However, be aware that there are steps and incline sections which could challenge some people. Great views and a village at the end where you could catch a taxi, if you didn’t want to turn around and walk back. We also stopp d at a lovely resort at the end of the walk for breakfast.
Anna S — Google review
A serene, peaceful escape, with a river flowing on one side and lush forest on the other. It's an ideal spot for a tranquil sunrise walk. Has a temple at the start and end of trail. The path leads to an art village, where you can unwind at charming cafés afterward. A perfect blend of nature and culture, perfect for relaxation.
Anusha D — Google review
A lovely walk. Best done early or late in the day this is casual stroll from Ubud. The path is easy to follow but not really suitable for disabled access as there's stairs along the way. The surrounding vegetation is a little overgrown with weeds in sections but the walk is well worth allowing a couple of hours when in the area.
Ian W — Google review
Nice place to walk not far from the city. You have a good walking trail, but most of it expose to the sun. You can't go of the walking way to gind you a nice quit place in the wood. On start from south you can reach the river. On the north point you have some galeres and coffee shoe. If you need to get by walk to your entry point, start from south because there is a hilll to go, and it will be nicer to go down after you finish you walking.
Bar S — Google review
Beautiful walk. Lots of up and down and stairs. If someone has trouble walking won't be too good for them. It is very hot as well. This Campuhan Ridge Walk can be a leisurely hike and takes around 30 to 45 minutes each way. Ofcourse depending on your pace and how often you stop for photos. I didn't go too far as it was very hot and humid but the entire round trip can be completed in about 1.5 hours. I also recommend wearing comfortable sneakers or walking shoes because the path is uneven in some places. If you plan to explore the nearby villages or stop at one of the cafés along the way, you might want to allow a bit more time. I stopped at a beautiful temple to visit just before starting the trail, so I would probably dedicate half a day to this visit. Lush greenery everywhere. It's free to enter the place.
Globetrekker S — Google review
It's a round-trip hike. We only walked the one-way route, entering from the north and exiting. Most people enter through the entrance and then turn back facing north. If you come from the entrance, you'll have to climb uphill like a mountain hike, but if you start from the north, it's mostly downhill. The walk from the north only took about 30 minutes. It's quite short, but the atmosphere is great.
김지수 — Google review
Spewing I didn’t get up earlier to enjoy the sunrise colours. I began the walk around 6am… the path is clean with few people around so it’s quite peaceful. Views from the ridge are lovely and friendly faces along the path made it a warm morning. I stopped at Karsa Spa for my booked massages and was very impressed. Am going to try lunch next door now
Sarah R — Google review
The pavement/walkway was so clean and serene. Come early to avoid the heat. I didn't go all the way to the other side but you can enjoy the calm village view and had smoothie, fruits or coffee on your way.

Visitor Centers
Ubud Palace, located on the famous Monkey Forest Road, is a must-visit destination in Bali. The palace features traditional Balinese architecture and hosts enchanting dance performances in its courtyard. Surrounded by lush greenery, it offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Bali. With its vibrant atmosphere and captivating performances, Ubud Palace provides an immersive experience for visitors looking to soak up Balinese culture.
We paid about $6.00 to get in, and overall, this was a pretty cool first stop to experience some Balinese history and temple architecture. The palace grounds give you a quick glimpse into traditional Balinese culture, but it’s definitely more of a short visit — About 15 minutes is enough to see most of it. The location is convenient, right across from the Ubud Marketplace and Starbucks, so it’s easy to pair the two experiences together and get some shopping done. The palace itself has beautiful details and feels like a calm pocket of history in the middle of Ubud’s busy center. That said, there are a lot of people visiting, so if you want to take photos, be prepared to wait 15 minutes or more just for a clear shot. Outside, you’ll also find plenty of taxi drivers asking if you need a ride, which can be a little overwhelming. The biggest downside is that there aren’t any public restrooms on-site, since the palace is still someone’s private home — So plan ahead before visiting. For the price, it’s still worth checking out, especially if you’re already exploring central Ubud, but it’s definitely more of a quick stop than an in-depth experience. Pro Tips - Go early in the morning to avoid heavy crowds and get better photo opportunities. - Be prepared for lots of taxi drivers outside offering rides—politely decline if you’re not interested. - No public restrooms are available since it’s still a private residence, so plan bathroom breaks before or after. - Pair your visit with Ubud Market right across the street for a fuller experience.
Lily S — Google review
If you’re already in Ubud, the palace is worth a quick stop, but honestly, there isn’t much to see inside. From a religious and cultural aspect it holds value for the Balinese people, but for tourists it can feel underwhelming—just a few closed doors and crowded pathways in the middle of Ubud’s busy center. You can walk through the grounds in about 3–5 minutes, and the admission during the day is free, which is a plus. The gardens are well maintained, the carvings are beautiful, and the atmosphere carries historic charm. It’s also right in the city center, so convenient if you’re already out shopping or exploring nearby attractions. That said, the real highlight here is in the evening. The palace transforms into a venue for nightly traditional Balinese dance performances such as Legong and Barong. The show costs 100,000 IDR per person (cash only) and is absolutely worth it. The music of the gamelan orchestra, the elaborate costumes, and the graceful movements of the dancers create an enchanting cultural experience. Arrive early—people gather as early as 6:30 pm for good seats, with the performance starting at 7:30. Sitting closer to the front gives the best view, but if you prefer comfort, choose a chair instead of the carpet. Be careful of monkeys in the area—they can be aggressive and snatch belongings if you’re not cautious. Also note, the daytime visit alone isn’t particularly memorable, but the evening performance is where Ubud Palace truly shines. Overall, it’s a well-maintained landmark with historical and cultural importance, but the dance show is the part that makes it worth recommending.
Shivangi G — Google review
This was our first stop on our Bali trip. We visited the palace and purchased tickets for the Legong of Mahabharata Epic dance show. The palace itself isn’t very big—the part open to visitors is quite small—but it does offer some beautiful photo opportunities and gives you those old Balinese vibes. We came back later in the evening for the show. Outside, you’ll find old ladies selling beers, chips, rain covers, and more. Prices are quoted high, so a little negotiation helps. The show was fantastic. They provide a pamphlet explaining the different dance performances, which is worth reading to better understand what’s happening on stage. The dancers, musicians, and overall performance were excellent. While the show runs for about 1–1.5 hours and might feel a bit long for some, I personally found it really engaging. All in all, Ubud Palace is a must-stop when in Ubud!
Arushi C — Google review
We visited Ubud Palace, Bali in November 2024 and loved the experience. The traditional Balinese architectures are stunning, and there are great photo spots throughout. Outside, you’ll find small shops selling local crafts and souvenirs. We were lucky to catch a Balinese festival at that time - with music, offerings, and traditional dress, which made the visit even more special. A beautiful place to explore Balinese culture and heritage. Can add it to your itinerary if you are visiting Ubud.
Sreejith S — Google review
Very vibrant modern surroundings with ancient energy inside. Place is very small but is full with Dharmic signs and energy. Many statues were covered so it was bit disappointing , it would have been great if all statues were shown to visitors. But full marks to people of Bali for only preserving their Hindu heritage but also living it. Bali has so many things to cover, so it’s not possible in 5 days cover to even cover 25% of places.

Ubud Palace, also known as Puri Saren Agung, is one of the most beautiful and historically rich landmarks in the heart of Ubud. My visit here was truly enchanting — the palace beautifully showcases traditional Balinese architecture with its intricate carvings, golden details, and serene courtyards filled with tropical plants. It’s a perfect place to feel the essence of Balinese culture and royalty. The palace is not very large, but every corner tells a story of heritage and spirituality. The preserved buildings and stone sculptures reflect the traditional craftsmanship of Bali’s golden age. It’s located right in the center of Ubud, close to the art market, making it convenient to explore both in a single visit. I also enjoyed the evening traditional dance performance held in the palace courtyard — it was mesmerizing, with graceful dancers, colorful costumes, and live gamelan music creating an unforgettable experience. Entry to the palace during the day is free, and it’s well maintained with friendly staff who are happy to share information about its history. Visiting at sunset adds a magical glow to the atmosphere. Overall, Ubud Palace is a must-visit cultural gem in Bali — a place that connects you deeply to the island’s artistic soul and royal heritage.

We couodnt make in time to see the palace as it closes by 5.30 or 6 but we bought tickets to watch the dance performance at the palace. The dance performance started at 7 and was great. I think they could make it shorter and less costlier than more people will visit and stay throughout the performance.

Nice place, but crowded. We went there for Legong dance show. It was the first time seeing such a balinese dance, was interesting but since we had to sit on the floor for a good spot it was a bit exhausting to watch it an hour long. We were there half an hour before the show. So if you want to have good seats you should probably be there way earlier

Perched on a hill overlooking the Campuhan valley, The Blanco Renaissance Museum was once the residence and studio of the vibrant artist Antonio Blanco. Known for his fascination with the female form, Blanco's collection features fantasy portraits of women in watercolors, collages, and erotic sketches. While not extensive, the museum showcases family portraits in an adjoining studio. Visitors are greeted by lithographic artworks of nude Balinese women displayed in a spacious marble hall.
The parrots were so so so adorable! I’ve never been this close to little parrots before—they even bowed their heads asking for pets! Oh my god, awww! And the staff helped me take photos with them, letting the parrots perch on my shoulder and stuff—just too cute!! The entry ticket was around $10 AUD per person, which is totally worth it. It was very quiet inside with hardly any people, but the place had so much character. Even though there’s no air conditioning, walking around or sitting in the garden was actually quite pleasant. Highly recommend this place, though the parrots were more beautiful than the paintings—much more captivating. Lol

This museum houses the paintings of Antonio Blanco a Spaniard who was born in the Philippines then moved to Bali and settled here. It’s a beautiful quiet place. The parrots were my favourite part I got to hold them and take photos they are lovely and have such a calming energy. There were very few people and my mom and I enjoyed strolling around together. We enjoyed the quiet garden with the fountain and fishes 🐟 also the beautiful friendly parrots 🦜 there’s a plant based restaurant next door as well with some nice gelato and great service and views! I would totally recommend this place and the gelato next door to cool down after a long day of walking

What an incredible museum. It was awesome to see the Dali of Bali/Antonio Blancos artwork in person. And to also see all the intricate beautiful frames along with his amazing paintings. They frames are an artwork in itself!! From the moment you walk in... you'll feel a unique energy... his paintings welcome you to his vivid imagination and talented vision. Spent a few hours admiring his marvellous works and his art studio where I met Bill the hornbilll!! It was so lovely to see his family home, creative space / studio. I especially loved the unique wall art pieces and his ode to Salvador Dali!! ✨️💕

Such a lovely museum! They offer many ways to explore Blanco’s life and that of his family — his studio, the beautiful garden with exotic birds, photographs, paintings, his authentic painting space, and films. To my surprise, his granddaughter suddenly appeared next to me and offered to share more about him and their family, even giving me a personal tour. It was such an authentic and personal experience. I would definitely recommend visiting!

Put this on your list of Top 100 things to do in Ubud. In other words there are 99 better things to do in Ubud than set foot in this badly-lit, dusty, self-Indulgent museum to a mediocre artist. The building and its grounds are impressive but that’s where it ends. Save your 100 IDR entrance fee and use it instead for a couple of patisserie at one of Ubuds best restaurants right next door at Plant Bistro. Here’s a picture of one of the displays at the museum to give you a taste of what you’re missing!
David C — Google review
An excellent museum and a striking example of what can be achieved in a small provincial town like Ubud, using the legacy of a local (and international) art legend — the painter Antonio Blanco. PS His paintings, rich in sensuality and detail, are sure to appeal even to the most refined artistic tastes. Note that photography inside the museum is not allowed.
Roman R — Google review
I came expecting a nice relaxing art viewing but I was disappointed. The place was beautiful but my god it's so HOT inside, I was sweating like crazy and it makes me not comfortable to be in the museum for too long. The birds were cute though, and the staff was nice and would offer to take your pics. But honestly for the ticket price of 55k it wasn't worth it overall

We had a lovey morning at the museum. Staff were very friendly and knowledgable and the grounds were as beautiful as the art inside. A morning well spent.

Nestled in the heart of Ubud, known as Bali's cultural capital, Museum Puri Lukisan is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts. This charming museum boasts an extensive collection of both traditional and contemporary Balinese artworks, some dating back to the 1930s.
for those who loves art, paintings and want to know a little bit of art history in Bali/Ubud this is the place, more then 300 paints and sculptures. Besides that beautiful gardens and resto. Must go.

Worth a visit if you’re into art. 🎨 They’ve got some nice gardens and ponds outside, and four buildings showcasing works from old to modern. You can even buy paintings. Personally, I found it a bit boring — was expecting more than just art.
Adrian Z — Google review
The museum is a must go to see a piece of the history of Balinese art. It’s not well conserved, but has a great overview of how art has evolved over the centuries. In oct 2025, tickets were 95k IDR with a bottle of water :-). The museum is split into 4 galleries with the south one dedicated to very recent artwork - the least interesting one. The gardens of the museum are beautiful.
Pedro P — Google review
A well curated museum. Alot of Balinese history through art. If you want to take it all in across each building of which there are four, be prepared to spend 90 minutes minimum.
Jovana H — Google review
This is probably among the better art museums in Indonesia. More importantly, it provides a narrative about the development of painting in Bali. The grounds are very beautiful, and given that most tourists won’t bother with a serious museum about art in a place such as Bali, it’s incredibly peaceful.

Penglipuran Village, located in the East Bali region of Bangli, is a charming highland community known for its well-preserved traditional layout and culture. The village offers a glimpse into Balinese society's ancient Tri Hita Karana philosophy, with neatly trimmed gardens bordering stone-paved paths that wind through the neighborhood. Visitors can explore the main village area lined with old-fashioned thatched houses featuring arched gateways and manicured lawns.
A beautiful little village, although a touristy spot, remains very clean and well maintained. The traditional architecture is impressive and adds to the charm of the area. We can walk through the village, enter the houses, and see a variety of local items on display. It is a great spot

Visited Penglipuran Village — a beautiful and peaceful spot! The traditional Balinese houses make it look a bit like Besakih Temple, but with a more chill and relaxed vibe. You can also rent a Balinese kebaya to take lovely photos around the village. Definitely worth a stop for the cultural experience and great photo ops! 🌸📸

Cleanest and most beautiful village in Bali. Penglipuran Village is one of the cleanest and most peaceful places in Bali. The traditional houses, bamboo gates, and friendly locals make it feel very authentic. You can walk around, take great photos, and learn about Balinese culture. 💡 Tip: Ticket is around IDR 30,000. Best to visit in the morning for cool weather and fewer crowds. Bring cash for accessories shops. You could rent traditional clothings and stay the nights at the villager's house for around Rp. 350K per night. A must-visit spot to see the real Bali!

Charming little village! You can visit all the houses and enjoy delicious homemade food at very affordable prices. The meals are cooked right in the houses and are truly tasty. Penglipuran Village is a traditional Balinese village located in Bangli Regency, Bali, Indonesia. It is famous for its well-preserved culture, clean environment, and unique traditional architecture. The village layout reflects Bali’s ancient philosophy of harmony between humans, nature, and God (Tri Hita Karana). All houses are built in the same style, creating a neat and harmonious look. Penglipuran is also known as one of the cleanest villages in the world and a popular destination for visitors who wish to experience authentic Balinese culture and hospitality. Bali Safari and Marine Park, also known as Taman Safari Indonesia 3, is a family-friendly destination located in Serongga Village, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. It offers a unique experience by combining wildlife in their natural habitat with Balinese culture. The park serves as a breeding ground for endangered animals and houses over 60 species within large enclosures that mimic their natural environments.
What an awesome day out for the whole family! I initially thought the ticket prices were a bit much, but after my visit, I felt it was well worth the price. Seeing the variety of animals was impressive, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was great, and we never had to wait too long. Definitely make the trip, and take the kids, they'll never forget it!

I absolutely loved my visit to Taman Safari Zoo! The animals were clearly well cared for, and it was such an incredible experience to see them up close. The lions were breathtaking, coming right up to the caged vehicle we were in, and the tiger was phenomenal as it leapt onto the truck, giving us an unforgettable close encounter. The elephants were simply beautiful, along with the zebras and so many other amazing animals throughout the park. The staff were fantastic—helpful, friendly, and welcoming—which made the experience even better. To top it all off, we enjoyed a buffet dinner at the on-site restaurant, which offered a delicious and extensive variety of dishes. We were also entertained by a performance. Overall, it was a beautiful place and an experience I highly recommend!
IRSciascia — Google review
It’s a zoo. Expect a zoo. The drinks and food are expensive. The main show was actually very cool with the “domestic animals” being almost circus trained. I’ve never seen Guinea pigs or house cats perform tricks. They wild animals were less trained but still cool. Coolest thing we saw was the bearcats and the hornbills. My son was taught how to play the Rindik (traditional xylophone) for no cost. That was nice.

Bali Safari & Marine Park was an absolutely amazing experience for our family! From the moment we entered, we were greeted with warm smiles and helpful staff. The park is beautifully maintained, with immersive animal habitats and a perfect mix of education and entertainment. The safari journey was thrilling — seeing animals like elephants, tigers, and zebras up close was unforgettable. The animal shows were engaging and fun, and the cultural performances added a wonderful touch to the day. My children especially loved the interactive experiences and photo opportunities. A big thanks to the team for their friendliness and excellent service. This is a must-visit attraction in Bali that left us with beautiful memories.

The place is of great fun for family, the safari journey in the secured vehicle is great. You get to see alot of animals. The animal presentation shows Tiger, Elephant and Bird are amazing don't miss. It's better to go as early as possible since first show starts at 10:00 am. I recommend the first or basic package since you won't have time for the other options in higert pacakges

We had an amazing experience in Bali Safari. An interesting place to visit especially with children (as adults, we really enjoyed it). You can visit their website to buy the ticket in advance, and the price may vary based on what you want to do. They also offer a night safari. You might want to bring a cap or portable fan because the weather can get really hot most of the time.
Ariani — Google review
We were here with the rest of my colleague and their children, Anita and Shirley, Ashley, Aaron and Arion from Darwin. I stayed for 3days and they stayed longer. At the Safari, we met our tour guide Mr. Prasad, and saw not many animals only few. It feels like we were the last people to visit the Safari because its about to close down. As you can see only the stone animal figures I only captured in the Safari because there were only Monkeys, Elephants, Snakes, Tigers, Birds and Giraff. It's the usual animals of all the Safaris I've been to. There were no more wild animals in Safari.
Shirley M — Google review
The Bali Safari & Marine Park is well designed and there are many different kinds of animals and fish. The safari experience itself is okay, and the park definitely provides opportunities to see animals up close and learn more about them. In that sense, I appreciate that the park tries to raise awareness among visitors about different species and the importance of conservation. However, there are also some aspects that personally appeal to me less. For example, I find it unfortunate that there are still shows where animals perform tricks, and that elephant rides are offered. In my view, this is outdated and does not contribute to education or animal welfare. Additionally, I found the sustainability policy somewhat contradictory. For instance, you're not allowed to bring your own (sustainable) stainless steel water bottle into the park, while during the dolphin show they emphasize how harmful plastic is to the ocean. At the same time, plastic Le Minerale bottles are sold everywhere. If the park truly wanted to support sustainability and reduce plastic pollution, affordable water refill stations would be a much better and more credible solution than selling single-use plastic. As a result, the whole thing feels like greenwashing. In short: a beautiful park with great potential and a valuable educational approach, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of animal welfare and credible sustainability efforts.

This marketplace is unique yet speaks to the power of small business enterprise. It is not a place for the faint of heart because you must be willing to take your time and look at the merchandise and try to guard against the pressure you feel from each anxious Seller. It is also challenging because if you’re not used to bargaining, you can be quite confused by the entire process, however, I always am amazed at the quantity of merchandise for sale and feel such compassion for each, and every person manning a stall and looking to sell. I highly recommend this for people who want to avoid this slick and glitzy shops of Ubud

Nestled in Ubud, Pondok Pekak Library & Learning Centre is a vibrant hub of arts and culture. The center offers an array of activities including book rentals, arts courses, and a rooftop terrace for relaxation. Visitors can immerse themselves in Balinese culture through classes such as dance, mask-carving, music, painting, and language. The library also features a diverse collection of children's books in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
I read in a Lonely Planet travel guide that Pondok Pekak Library offered Gamelan (traditional Balinese music) classes. The book was published over ten years ago. Many of the restaurants and accommodations it recommended are now gone—but this place is still here, going strong! It’s clear that it has been run with heart and dedication. The staff are kind and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere feels warm and comforting. I took a Gangsa (Balinese metallophone) class with Nyoman, who is an incredibly passionate and patient teacher. He has a wealth of teaching experience and makes the class fun and relaxed. He would first play a part for me, then let me follow along. Even if I forgot a beat, I could just play along with him—no pressure at all, perfect for beginners! The Gangsa produces a powerful, resonant sound—it’s no wonder it was originally used to send messages to the gods. It’s a wonderful experience for both adults and children. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to dive deeper into Balinese culture. When you're in Bali, don’t just watch a performance—come and experience the magic of traditional music for yourself. Next time I visit, I definitely want to try learning the Bamboo Rindik!

My family did a a woodcarving class and Nyoman was our instructor. He was incredibly patient with the kids and adults! So fun! I felt it taught the children patience, control, as well as skill. We arrived earlier than anticipated because there was no traffic in ubud (gasp!) and Nyoman was kind to come in early as well. There were no link online and I wasn’t sure how to book so I messaged them on whatsapp and was told I could book whichever type of class I wanted and whatever time I wanted as long as I gave 2 hour notice. My youngest is 4 and the recommended age for carving is 6+. Nyoman allowed my 4 year old to do the class and I “helped”. One of the best activities we’ve done so far. Will try a painting class or silver making class next time.

Nestled just a few kilometers north of Ubud, the Neka Art Museum stands as a vibrant testament to both traditional and modern Balinese artistry. Established in 1975 by art collector Suteja Neka, this museum showcases an impressive array of works from renowned 20th-century painters and contemporary Indonesian artists. The architecture itself is a stunning representation of Balinese design, creating an inviting atmosphere for visitors.
I visited the Neka Art Museum this morning (Sunday) and really enjoyed it. I had the place to myself as I wandered around. There were wonderful examples of traditional Balinese art and carvings with some western artists in there too. The buildings and grounds were peaceful and immaculately clean and I'd recommend this place if you'd like somewhere away from the crowds and a little less touristy. There was also a cafe on site which I didn't try and the opportunity to try some Balinese arts and craft classes that looked interesting.

Wanted to visit this place since my research showed that there was a forge here to demonstrate forging a keris. Walking in here piqued my wife's and my interest from the start. The intricate wooden carvings and old school paintings. My wife and I didn't have much interest in the modern section so we skipped those parts. The highlight for this trip were the 2 halls full of keris's. As a maker myself, the attention to detail and references was out of this world. This itself made the trip worth it. You'll have to book the forging demonstration in advance for the blacksmiths to prepare. I was unfortunate enough to have missed that detail but at least I got to have a look at the forging area.
Nigel K — Google review
Loved the Neka Art Museum, there are a lot of pieces from European artists that have lived in Bali and that was a great surprise. It's well maintained and it was almost empty, so we had the place mostly for ourselves. It will take you around an hour and a half or two to explore the whole museum. It's completely worth the visit and it's really close to other nice things to do in Ubud.

If you are into art or art history, this is a must. Mix of historical and contemporary art including Balinese traditional swords. We were the only visitor at that time. Although the entrance fee is high, find this more worthwhile than the other museum near ubud palace. Worth visiting especially if you are interested in some contemporary balinese themed artworks. There were also a lot of works of other nationalities depicting Balinese culture.

Though not cheap to enter, we felt the price was worth it. Beautiful collection of artwork which was paired with thorough and interesting descriptions of each subject. Art styles were varied, but all very enjoyable. Not crowded at all. No A/C, but it wasn't hot thanks to a nice breeze. The ticket includes a small bottle of water and a couple sweet crisps. Bathroom was very clean. Plenty of secure parking on site.

Kemenuh Butterfly Park is one of my favourite places to visit. It is beautifully designed with serene water features, vibrant orchids, and lush greenery. This place offers a new experience of being surrounded by butterflies in many sizes and colours. The atmosphere is cool and shady. This place is suitable for those who are interested in plants and insects, specifically butterflies. The ticket is quite reasonable, and you can enjoy swimming pool with slides if you want to. However, I think this place is lack of some points. There was no direction signs so we didn't know the exact route to enjoy all of the spots. Second, because it's an outdoor area, there are mosquitoes. Make sure you apply some mosquito repellent before visiting this place, but please use the organic one (eucalyptus oil with lemongrass fragrance may work). Overall, this place is recommended

This sanctuary is pure magic. ✨ Walking through the gardens felt like stepping into another world — a place where beauty is alive in every wingbeat. The variety of butterflies is breathtaking, each one a masterpiece of shape and color. I was especially touched by the orchids (my favorite flower) and the bonsai trees, which made the whole place feel sacred and serene. It isn’t just about butterflies — it’s about being reminded of transformation, patience, and the delicate wonder of life. The care and love put into this sanctuary are felt in every detail. I left in awe, my spirit lighter, and deeply grateful for the experience. If you are in Bali, don’t miss this place. It’s not just a visit — it’s a blessing. 🌸🦋

We loved this park. It was not crowded, smooth ticketing, only 100k per person (i think original price is 120k), also an upgraded ticket for the waterpark (was nearly empty). Park is well organized, few animals also, many flowers and tropical plants which i love. The butterfly part was amazing and we loved it. Don't miss the cocoon gallery, the guide explained to us how they're breed. Lovely experience and highly recommend if u r in Ubud.

Very nice park that can not be seen everywhere... Great place for a walk, relaxing and hanging out with beautiful butterflies 💖 you can make great pictures, and enjoy true beauty of such incredible environment. There is also a very nice and calm restaurant with kind and friendly staff. A water park for families with children. Thank you guys for unforgettable experience 👋

The Tropical Garden is beautiful with many plants and flowers. But all animals are kept in captivity – butterflies in slightly better enclosures, while other animals like otters and birds are held in extremely tiny, miserable cages. Animals should not be kept in captivity at all. This completely takes away from the experience

This is a very pretty little complex. The staff are there for education and protection of the moths and butterflies. Staff will assist you to release butterflies into the centre and handle the resident moths. I actually loved the gardens, the wonderful assortment of butterflies and moths. Must visit.

We made a short stop at Kemenuh Butterfly Park during our trip, and I’m really glad we did. Although the visit wasn’t very long, it turned out to be one of the highlights for our kids. They were fascinated by the butterflies flying freely around the enclosure and enjoyed spotting different colors and sizes up close. We ended up taking a lot of pictures — it’s a very photogenic place, and you can get quite a few lovely shots with butterflies resting on your hand or shoulder if you're patient. One of the unexpected positives was how the visit helped reduce some of the fear of insects that my kids had before. Seeing butterflies in such a calm and natural environment made them more curious than scared, and they walked away with more appreciation for nature. The park is clean, well-maintained, and peaceful — a nice break from the busier tourist spots. If you’re in or around Ubud, I’d say it’s definitely worth adding to your itinerary, especially if you’re traveling with children. It’s not a place you’d plan your day around, but it’s a lovely, low-key stop that offers something memorable in a short time.

Taman Nusa is an expansive open-air museum spanning 15 hectares, offering a captivating journey through Indonesia's rich cultural tapestry. The park features meticulously crafted replicas of traditional houses from diverse Indonesian tribes, providing insight into their unique ways of life. Divided into sections representing different historical periods and a Cultural Village showcasing 60 traditional houses, Taman Nusa offers an immersive and educational experience. It's the ideal destination for those seeking to explore the breadth of Indonesian culture in one place.
Good place to know your way all around Indonesia. All unique houses from each tribe and region and Indonesia are displayed in style. Very educational to the youths, they can learn the diversity of Indonesia.

Had a good morning at Taman Nusa. Basically no-one there and it felt a bit like an abandoned theme park, which was cool. Yes, most of the park is currently out of action, but it was still fun to explore and it was amazing to see how plant growth and weather had done so much damage in that time. Can still see a number of good examples of housing from different time periods and areas of Indonesia. I'm sure it'll be great once it's all fixed back up. They currently have tickets at half price (now 175,000 IDR) which seems perfectly reasonable to me for a good 90min+ wander. Plus, I suppose one could see visiting as a bit of a donation to it getting fixed back up again :)

beautiful place, you can see and learn Indonesian culture here. It has so many traditional Indonesian houses and when we visited some houses, the employees there played the traditional music and do the traditional dance. My mom joined the dance happily. the weather was very nice, the wind was a bit cold but as we were walking in such a huge area, we could bear the cold breeze. all employees were very nice and friendly. we can also see traditional fabric, old stamps, traditional shadow puppets, handicraft, etc. There were some instagramable spots to take pictures, including a rice field. we bought entrance ticket which included lunch at an online seller. Time spent around 4 hours including lunch. you can also buy ticket for traditional activity such as making batik, wear traditional clothes and taking pictures.

History of Indonesian Islands from prehistoric time to vision of future. Absolutely amazing gathering of traditional houses. Nice friendly stuff. However exhibition must be updated. Some buildings needs fixings. Institution itself saw better times. Still worth of visiting.

Most of the houses are under extensive renovation. Each house represents the rich cultural heritage from each Indonesian ethnic. Some notable landmark like miniature of Borobudur temple from Central Java. Statue of Gajahmada and Indonesia founding fathers Soekarno & Hatta.
Budy W — Google review
This magnificent collection of Indonesia culture and traditional houses is really big on a very large land. You will have to take a walk a little bit over a KM to cover all houses. They have museums also but i don't know why the lightings were all out. It's a fun experience afterall, with very good price. We're even got a discount of a promo at that time. If you have time to explore all of this, this is a good place for family trip.

Very nice and good for education to know more about Indonesia. If you come to Bali, you must be visit Taman Nusa. It is a great way to experience the culture in a one stop place. The center includes different sections in the history of Indonesia. Hands on things to do such as playing instruments ,dressing up and making things seeing different dances.

The Bali Museum, located in the heart of Denpasar city, offers a rich display of Balinese art and history. The museum's compound is adjacent to the Jagatnatha Temple and close to the Puputan Badung field, making it easily accessible for visitors. Inside, visitors can explore traditional courtyards and discover a diverse collection of artifacts.
The museum pieces are lovely and the buildings in which they are housed are museum pieces themselves, the grounds are clean and well maintained

Beautiful buildings and grounds, with some interesting displays tracing the history of Bali. Not very big so don’t rush through.
Ray T — Google review
I was very excited to see that there was a museum nearby our home stay, because I love to learn about history and culture. Safe to say this was kind of a let down. Having to pay 100k per person doesn’t seem so bad, but immediately after you pay there will be other people that try to become your guide for another 100k. Which seems kind of weird. Especially since their English left something to be desired. I read online that you would learn about the history of Bali and while it isn’t exactly untrue, there was no silver lining or a sort of “story” you could follow along. It was just bits and fragments from different periods crammed together without much text to learn what these things actually mean. And the texts that were there had lots of grammatical errors, though those errors weren’t that big of an issue. The area and temples you enter and walk through were arguably more interesting than the actual exhibit. I was able to get some nice pictures! Overall as something I was looking forward to doing during my visit in Indonesia it fell short of what I had hoped, that being said. It was a nice change of pace of all the tourism and crowded areas since there was no waiting time and not a lot of visitors.
Stan R — Google review
This so-called museum is seriously overpriced for foreigners, terribly maintained and managed. As a foreigner, you're charged 100k for entrance, but the place is smaller than a football field, with three poorly presented small exhibitions. Many of the exhibits are missing and exhibition boards in shambles. They charge foreigners so much money, yet the English introductions are barely readable. This museum is part of a larger temple complex. You can visit the other part, but as many temples in Indonesia, you need to pay for a sarong and haggle with the guy at the door. This can be quite annoying and a deal breaker for many people. So I reckon just don't go, you don't have to go there in order to see good temples buildings. The place has two entrances, one for tourists, the other for staff. But the one for staff is not guarded at all, which means anyone can just waltz right in and enter the museum grounds without paying! All in all, not recommended at all, and you won't be missing much either.
Leon L — Google review
A must go place and you will learn a lot about Bali history, rituals tradition etc. 100k per person entrance and another 100k perperson for the tour guide (i think was not necessary but, he presents him self) but for more information i recommend to have one you can ask a lot questions about Bali culture and he explains a lot. A person selling paints and tradional bali calendar or book make sure to bargain starting price is high. All in all we learned a lot about Bali culture and history highly recommended and our Driver said not much people are interested to check the museum probably also due to traffic but nevertheless its a recommended place.
Maita G — Google review
It is a good museum but only got four stars because it's not a great museum. The big draw is the architecture of the buildings, as the displays in the four buildings are actually quite minimal. I'm glad I went and would recommend going, but it is not extensive.
Jan S — Google review
Really good place to visit if you are really interested in learning about other countries culture. Not much commercial activities, peacefully you can learn about Balinese culture
Raghavendra M — Google review
Bali museum is 100,000 Rupiah for adults. The temple before this skip it as the dude trying to get you in will charge you to put on the skirt as he explains the god relief sculpture with very little knowledge. He charged us 40 000 rupiah for the clothing then another 100,000 to hear his basic knowledge of his own religion. This is a scam , avoid them and tell them no . If they heckle you just walk away. Lots of scammers, lots of better things to do in Bali. The u Museum is worth taking a look but avoid the rest. It is not worth the time or money they will ask. You would think people who dedicated their lives to these gods would have answers to basic questions. But naw. Seems like they should pray to their God of knowledge for more intelligence.

The al fresco style workshop provides a beautiful and relaxing environment, with two electric wheels and a large gas-fired downdraft furnace available for use. Children can participate in the kids class with wonderful teachers who help them bring their creative ideas to life. Lebih Beach, located in Gianyar regency, is a striking coastal attraction known for its black-sand beaches and variety of seafood restaurants. The quiet atmosphere offers stunning views of the open sea and, on clear days, Nusa Lembongan island can be seen. Along the beach road, there are delightful warungs offering great food and cocktails. Additionally, nearby local clothes shops provide authentic items at reasonable prices. The beach is easily accessible from the main road with ample parking space available.
Lebih Beach is an exotic Black Sand Beach and the weaves are beautiful. it is away form the crowded tourist spot. you can also enjoy the local food here specially the fish BBQ
Shamon K — Google review
The highlight of this beach is definitely the seafood! Picture this: the beach is lined with vibrant stalls offering the freshest catches—choose from a variety of fish, shells, squid, and more, then have it cooked to perfection right before your eyes. While you savor the mouthwatering seafood, you can relax and watch the waves roll in. With fewer people swimming or surfing here, the beach offers a more laid-back, local vibe, making it a hidden gem for those in the know!
Anova F — Google review
Just a short area of the beach, not the main touristy place. We went there as it was like the closest to where we stayed. Think it is meant more for locals. Managed to take some photos and also chanced upon a rainbow.
Elaine C — Google review
Far away from the tourists. Many locals around which gives good vibes to the beach. Good place to relax but didn't see any toilets around. There are a couple of restaurants. Good place for learn to surfing or you can swim there but watch out for hidden rocks under the water and the waves can get big. Unfortunately more rubbish around than I wanted to see ☹ but still clean enough to enjoy.

Visiting all the beaches along the Jl. Ida Bagus Mantra, today I went to Pantai Lebih. This beach is just 100 mtrs of the main road with ample of carpark space and plenty of warungs and one upmarket fish restaurant. If you are on the way to Padang Bai or further alternatively on your way back this place is worthwhile a visit in case you are pakish. Forget the beach as there is a retaining wall with a tiny bit if black sand beach depending on the tide. I spoke to plenty of people who highly regarded the quality of the seafood regardless if you visit one of the warungs or the restaurant.
Peter S — Google review
This is another black sand beach situated at Gianyar and it has a smaller waves than Pantai Lepang, so it's kinda suitable for advance swimmer. There are foodstall around it selling seafood and local food. This is the beach where the locals spend their afternoon with fishing and playing kites. If you plan to walk along the beach up to Pantai Lepang be prepare to get wet as these shorline are seperated by a few knee depth rivers that coming from the mainland.
Aznida Z — Google review
Definitely recommended for you who likes to have a short walk on the beach and prefer culinary experience. Considerably much cheaper price for seafood than kuta!!
Fitra N — Google review
Get here for the sunrise and stay until about 9am as the waves start jumping really high around then. Beautiful open temple beachside so you can enjoy the locals ceremonies if you are lucky. People are welcoming/friendly. This area is unspoiled with tourist so you get to see authentic Bali.

Holy moly, honestly the best dining experience we had in almost 3 weeks travelling in Bali! Amazing indonesian food in a beautiful family run warung. Sit upstairs overlooking the rice paddies, a little oasis. We came here every night during a 6 night stay at a nearby resort (it was way better than anything there!) and got it delivered when our toddler fell asleep early. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Must-Visit in Bali! Jungle Fish is hands down one of the most incredible experiences we had in Bali! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like VIPs. Their service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and always smiling. We booked a suspended daybed with prepaid credit, and what an experience it was! We enjoyed a delicious lunch right on our daybed, then relaxed on the pool loungers – the perfect combination. The atmosphere was elevated by a talented DJ spinning amazing afro house beats all afternoon. Pure bliss! Here’s a pro tip: We didn’t use our entire prepaid amount, so we gave the difference as a tip to the incredible staff. They were so grateful, and honestly, they deserved every bit of it for the exceptional service. I highly encourage everyone to do the same if you find yourself in this situation – these hardworking people truly make your experience unforgettable. The suspended daybed, the stunning infinity pool with its lounge area, the music, the food, and above all, THE STAFF – everything was perfection. Don’t think twice – book your daybed at Jungle Fish. Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Bali Eco Cycling, where you can escape the crowded tourist spots and immerse yourself in the rich culture of Bali. This family-friendly downhill cycling tour is perfect for all ages, allowing you to explore serene rice paddies and charming villages while enjoying a leisurely ride away from traffic. The journey begins at a stunning eco-resort, where you can wander through lush parks and breathe in the fresh air that rejuvenates your spirit.
Absolute must if you are near Ubud. Our guide, Gustu, was fantastic and took us to see a Balinese home where we were shown traditional basket weaving and were treated to some local coffee and snacks. We also got to see all the stages of the rice growing process. The ride is all downhill so don't worry if you're not super fit. Lunch was lovely and we finished at the monkey temple. There was also a support vehicle that followed us in case someone got tired. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic tour! Dagus, our friendly and knowledgeable guide, gave us a truly personal experience — from visiting a Balinese family’s home (with shrines, bee hives, and pigs) to cycling through rice fields, stopping at a beautiful waterfall, tasting Luwak coffee, and seeing a 500-year-old holy Bengal tree. The ride was easy enough for our 5-year-old, and both breakfast and lunch were delicious. Booking was simple, communication was excellent, and the whole day ran perfectly. Highly recommend!

This trip is awesome!! It's a super easy downhill ride with amazing experiences, views and a great breakfast and lunch included. Our driver Gustu was friendly and receptive to questions on our drive there and back. Our cycling guide Degus was so knowledgeable and informative along the journey. Both were super friendly and made our trip the highlight of our time in Bali.

You MUST do a cycling tour when in Bali, it was one of the greatest highlights of my holiday. You'll see an authentic perspective on some villages/temples in Ubud, drink delicious tea and coffee, and take in some truly jaw-dropping views. The guide was so personable and knowledgeable. I felt like I should be taking notes, there was so much excellent information we were given. I will say it's harder to book this as a solo traveler, but not impossible. The tour company worked with me to find a booking that worked for the both of us. Originally I was signed up for a longer tour but was moved to the compact tour because there was a cancellation. But it was still an unforgettable time that I'm glad I could experience! Price for compact tour was 600k, which I thought was extremely fair for the tour of the coffee plantation, a look inside a family's private compound, the scenic ride with pertinent information, hotel transfers, lunch, snacks, and a platter of coffee samples. Very appropriate price for a tour that lasted from 7 am - 1pm

This is the second time that our family have been on a tour with Bali Eco Cycling. This time we brought our friends along and once again it was an amazing experience, even better than the first time!!! The view while having breakfast is stunning. Ample time was allowed at the tour stops (Coffee plantation, Family compound, school, significant tree & rice paddies). Lunch was delicious and in a very nice setting. After the tour the day concluded at a local waterfall and swimming hole, which our entire group enjoyed. While all of this was great, the whole experience was made better by our amazing host, Wayun. Wayun speaks perfect english and takes great care of the group.

Highly recommend this tour- very informative with lots of knowledge of share, a high light of our trip. A fantastic way to see the country side and rice fields. Cycling on paths between fields and along roads. Various cultural stops, which were very informative allowing us to ask many questions to personalise our tour. We stopped at a temple and learnt about the ceremonies and school next door. We had the choice of visiting a local house or coffee. We chose coffee- our young tour guide was amazing, a wealth of knowledge and provided a tasting paddle of teas and coffee. I would highly recommend this tour, but you do need to be able to navigate paths and roads on a bike. Bike were well maintained and the tour guide welcoming and informative with good English skills.

We had an inspirational and fascinating day with Kris on the Ubud Morning of the World walk. It’s absolutely the case that this tour company focuses on quality and the guest experience. Kris leads the company and it was a real privilege to spend time with him, learning about Bali with a focus on Ubud and the surrounding area. We’ve done lots of tours during visits to Bali but I think we learned more from Kris in a few hours than in all our other tours put together. Kris adapted our trek to cater for some unexpected extreme weather, which meant that the day was just absolutely perfect for us. I’d recommend Bali Eco without a moment’s hesitation.

My girlfriend and I booked a private “East Bali Adventure” tour (this can be done in a group for a cheaper rate but since we booked the night before we had to do it privately). We had a great time with our two guides (one rode in front of us and one rode behind) and driver. It was a 14 mile downhill route, mostly on quiet local roads with one half mile stretch on a dirt path through rice fields (we rode through here but you may walk ir you prefer). We walked down to a waterfall at the junction of two rivers. We had a wonderful swim (on a hot day) and our guide took photos of us and helped us up rocks. We ended our tour with lunch and an enjoyable conversation with our guides. It was super cool to tour an elementary school and a home on the ride. We also got to sample 16 kinds of coffee (everything included in price). This is a great company with great people!

Visitors can take a guided tour of the fields and learn about the luwaks, or civets, on site and the coffee-making process. While there's no obligation to purchase kopi luwak due to ethical concerns, the experience of learning about coffee production and enjoying a tasting session is highly praised. The plantation also offers insight into other plants like cinnamon and cacao.
I was initially drawn to the coffee but I ended up getting even more than I expected. When I visited, they had tea tasting where you're able to try every local tea and coffee they have. They have a full menu showing the benefits of each tea like mangosteen, tumeric, lemongrass, ginger, vanilla, chocolate and so on. I had a full panel of almost different 30+ teas. You have to try them in order because each one gradually goes up in flavor and intensity. It was really a unique experience. At the end you can purchase your favourite tea in a large pack to leave with from their store. I would definitely come back here.

I don’t know why this is not very famous spot, but I loved it. Tari, the lady that showed us around, is so helpful, she showed us the whole production process. We tasted different types of coffee and teas. For me, it was one of the most interesting experience in Bali. Yes, the products are a bit expensive, but I pay more for poor quality starbucks coffee. Natural products cost more. You should try the avocado chocolate, avocado tea and cocoa and spices tea. They gave us free samples of all coffee. Tari stayed with us for about 30 minutes and we talked about how they produce the coffee and the origins of it. Great experience! If you are not a coffee lover, you will still enjoy the variety of teas and chocolates.

We loved the visual education of all the plants used to make their teas and flavour the coffee. We got to pat the Luwak too. Nice presentation of teas and coffee. Lovely atmosphere and staff

I’m so glad I followed the recommendation to visit this place. It’s tucked away from the tourist crowds in a peaceful, non-commercialised setting. My host, Hadek, was incredibly warm and welcoming. I especially appreciated the beautiful tea presentation and the wide variety on offer—red ginger was definitely my favourite.

Very cool place to visit. They let you have a taster with 15 different teas and coffees, most of them are delicious. You can/have to buy something from the shop after the tasting, but the initial entry is free

A nice, quiet place where you can relax and look out over the rice paddies. Staggering selection of coffees and teas. Don’t forget to give Jhoni, the friendly civet, a pat on your way through.

Very special place. Free entry, free to try all their teas, only needed to pay for the coffee. Highly recommended

In Bali there are many similar places they offer the same experience. That one was great for us!!! They explain the whole process of co coffee production and finally they offer a plate for tasting teas and coffees!! In the end you can buy what you liked the most!!!

If you're looking for a tranquil escape, Cucukan Beach is the perfect spot. With crystal-clear waters and soft white sand, it's a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing. If you want to explore the local area, there are plenty of restaurants and shops close by.
Loved it here! Gift for the soul. Stayed at Villa Puri Purnama right on the beach which has a pool & all conveniences. If you want serenity this is it. 10 Min stroll along the beach to Komune Resort, Keramas. The black volcanic sand sparkles with minerals & I was impressed how clean the beach is. Locals were very warm & friendly. On a clear day you can see Lembongan. Very good Warungs for food in vicinity who will deliver to Villa Puri Purnama. Best time of my stay in Bali. Will return. Transport required.

Beautiful view of the mountains, sky, and sun all from the shoreline. Soft waves and warm waters. It was my first time seeing black sand, and I loved it. People should work to keep the beach clean. There was a lot of trash in the water and washed up on shore, so I tried picking up what I saw.

Every beach is beautiful if you keep it clean, especially from plastic trash. This beach is good for relaxing or take a walk, since it's a quiet place. Not good to watch sunset but if you like a quiet beach then this is not a bad choice. I come here with my wife and son only to watch the waves after a busy day. At least, this beach is not as crowded as Lebih, Sanur, or Seminyak.

Swimmable black sand beach with Mount Agung view in the north, and if it's a clear sky you can see Nusa Penida in the east. The beach is clean, and it has a jogging track also.

Bali Swing, located in Ubud on the Indonesian island of Bali, is a popular adventure outfit that offers various tours, rafting trips, and rope swings with stunning jungle views. Ubud itself is known for its picturesque setting among rice paddies and steep ravines and has become a hub for arts and culture tourism. The Bali Swing experience is highly recommended for visitors looking to capture breathtaking photos while soaring above the jungle, valley, rice terraces, and rivers.
We visited the Bali Swing with some friends during our holiday, and it was such a fun experience! The hill leading up was a little steep, but once you’re there the swings are absolutely fantastic and well worth it. Some of the girls hired dresses for photos, which added an extra touch and made the experience even more memorable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole setup felt safe and well organised. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something unique and exciting to do while in Bali.
Thomas B — Google review
Great Views and Photos, But Staff Attitude Needs Work Visited Real Bali Swing in Ubud and overall, it’s a good place if you’re looking for some iconic photo moments with a lush, scenic backdrop of greenery and water. The location itself is beautiful and natural, with about 8–10 different swings designed for that perfect Instagram shot. However, it’s on the expensive side — 650K IDR per person for access to all swings and lunch, plus 200K per person if you want professional photography, and another 250K for dress rental (plus 50K for a floral crown). Also, do note they prefer cash over card, which can be a hassle if you’re not carrying enough. Some swings were genuinely fun and made for amazing photos, while others felt more like filler rides just there to increase the count. The major downside was the staff, especially the male crew members managing the swings. The reception ladies were friendly and helpful, but the swing assistants were rude, impatient, and lacking basic manners. Despite paying for photography, we had to call them multiple times just to get their attention for photos, and they acted like they were doing us a favor. Another thing I found unfair is that even if you want to use just one or two swings, you still have to pay the full 650K — no option for individual access. Toilets are also very limited and not well-maintained, which was disappointing for a place charging premium prices. Overall, worth a visit for the natural setting and memorable pictures, but the experience could be so much better if the staff were more courteous and the pricing model was a bit more flexible.
Rajendra G — Google review
Obviously very touristy but such a gorgeous place showcasing the beauty of Bali. Had so much fun taking photos even with just the general entry, which also came with the lunch buffet. It was just a nice bonus but you could even just sit there with some tea and soak in the views. I recommend going super early before it gets packed and if you're lucky you might get one of the local photographers to help you but make sure you tip them!!!
Souper S — Google review
It looks dreamy and adventurous in photos, but in reality, it’s more of a well-managed photo spot than an actual thrill ride. The queues can be long, and everything feels a bit commercialized, from the setup to the pricing. That said, once you’re up there swinging against the backdrop of Bali’s lush greenery, you can’t deny the view is breathtaking. The staff are friendly, they guide you well for safety and also help you get those perfect Insta-worthy shots. It might not live up to the overhype, but it’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience — one of those iconic memories and photo proofs that mark your visit to Bali 🇮🇩🌴📸✨
Reshma J — Google review
We had an amazing experience at Bali Swing! The staff gave us all the time we needed to take beautiful photos — no rushing or waiting lines stressing everyone out, even though it was Saturday. A big thank you to the whole team for being so kind and for preparing a lovely surprise for my birthday. It made the day even more special!

If you're in Bali and have a sweet tooth, a visit to Pod Chocolate - Junglegold Factory is a must. This factory offers an insightful tour where you can learn about the process of cocoa cultivation, harvesting, and chocolate production. The knowledgeable staff will walk you through the different types of chocolate used and demonstrate how they create their delectable products. After the tour, indulge in their wide range of chocolate offerings at the on-site shop or relax at the chocolate cafe.
Had a great experience everyone was so nice and kind they have so many varieties of chocolate flavors and you can sample 16 of them for free. There is no pressure into buying, but once you taste them, you won't leave without buying a few.
Michelle L — Google review
Definitely a MUST visit if you are chocolate lover ! Their hot choco very thick and creamy , there’s a bit of sour taste but surprisingly very good 👍🏻. Their chocolate bar also good , in my opinion, this is the best LOCAL chocolate brand I’ve ever tasted
S J — Google review
No joke you HAVE to smell the bathroom at this place. Smells like chocolate and espresso. Best smelling toilet in Bali. Also the chocolate drinks from the cafe were so good and everything was vegan/plant-based (non-vegan reviewing). All of the chocolate is plant-based so perfect for lactose allergies. You can try like 34 flavors of chocolate for free in the cafe and take a factory tour if you want (~45 min, 100k per). The chocolate is really pretty in the packaging and is going to make great gifts. We also got a bunch of the small chocolates (bulk bins, pay per gram) as stocking stuffers for Christmas time. Quick stop, and very worth it.
Jake P — Google review
The Junglegold Chocolate Factory in Bali was a delightful experience and a unique stop during our trip. Known for its world-class chocolate, this place is more than just a factory — it is a blend of taste, design, and creativity. From the moment we entered, we were impressed by the architecture of the building. The structure itself is modern yet blends beautifully with Bali’s natural charm, and the interiors are equally superb with a stylish, inviting atmosphere. We tried their chocolate and it was truly nice — rich, smooth, and crafted with perfection. The variety on offer caters to different tastes, from dark and intense to creamy and sweet. What stood out was not only the flavor but also the way everything was presented with so much attention to detail. Walking around the space, you could see how thoughtfully the environment had been designed. The layout, the lighting, and even the seating gave the place a very sophisticated yet comfortable vibe. It was not overcrowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Junglegold Chocolate Factory is more than just a place to buy chocolate — it’s an experience worth having in Bali, combining taste, design, and atmosphere seamlessly.
Harikrishnan P — Google review
We stopped on a whim and are glad we did! There is a short informative introduction to chocolate making and then on to the tasting. The airconditioned shop also sells choco treats. We filled a gift box and bought some bars.(3 for 199k) We've had chocolate in South America, Switzerland, and Belgium. This was a fair deal and we liked the fact that it is Balinese from start to finish.
Robin M — Google review
This chocolate factory was amazing. Very informative. The staff are very friendly and agile. Very clean. Parking lot is very huge.
Rino A — Google review
The staff inside is great but the person at the reception desk was super rude just because i asked him what does the 100,000 ticket include. And if the rain stops can we see the plantation. Coming from so far to see a factory and buy your chocolates one should expect atleast courteous behaviour from the receptionist. He looked at us also as if we have come for free tasting. Just sad.
Harshvardhan S — Google review
10/10 Would highly recommend, big shout out to Bagus who was our tour guide, he was very detailed and helpful with questions and answers and very enthusiastic about the chocolate making process and history. Lots of delicious chocolate to choose from and beautiful packaging, perfect for gifting! 100k RPD for an hour or so tour and interactive chocolate moulding activity. Very flexible with times, I suggest WhatsApp-ing the number on the website to book. Very punctual with responding. We got to taste the cacao bean gel which was delicious. At the end of the tour you have access to the gift shop and cafe which offers a wide range of tasty treats! P.S. Wear bug spray!

Immerse yourself in the flavors of Bali with the Paon Bali Cooking Class, located in the quaint village of Laplapan, just north of Ubud. This authentic experience begins with a guided tour of the local market to select fresh ingredients before heading to a kitchen garden for an interactive cooking class. The knowledgeable instructors provide thorough explanations of each step and ingredient, ensuring that participants can easily follow along.
Amazing experience! Mrs. Puspa was a fantastic, funny, and knowledgeable teacher. We loved the market visit, hands-on cooking, and delicious food. Super clean kitchen, allergy-aware, and great value. Highly recommend!
Abhijith P — Google review
Worth the price A little out of the way- but in her home which is lovely. Puspa runs the class, however she only does about 20-30 minutes of explaining and then leaves for her 2nd to teach you. This is fine but not what I paid for. I also opted for a morning class as I wanted to do the market but they moved me to the afternoon - a long with a few others. This seemed like they had 2 little groups am/pm so decided to combine us to make a group of 10 in the afternoon. Not the experience I wanted. In terms of the cooking, you do a little bit and combine with the other guests. Not what I was expecting. At the end it's a buffet, so don't expect loads of food. I imagine it used to be Puspa all the time and it was more individual but it seems like they're running a cost effective model rather than for the customer experience

Such a wonderful experience at Paon Bali Cooking Class! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We went with five small kids, and everyone was able to join in the preparation and cooking. The food we made was absolutely delicious ! so fresh and full of flavor. Thank you for an amazing experience! 🌿🍲

I really enjoyed this experience. It was held in a beautiful Balinese home with very warm and kind people. The owner explained everything to us in a clear and friendly way, and the whole session felt very genuine and well-prepared. Everything was great. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because I still want to try a few other cooking classes in Bali, so I cannot compare yet or say for sure if this one is the absolute best. But overall, it was a lovely and memorable experience.
Leila A — Google review
Really great experience and a nice hostess. We got to make several dishes and do most of the cooking ourselves. They had everything prepared and ready so you did not have to wash vegetables or other activity not relevant to learning to make the dish. Also came with free water and a small cookbook to make the dishes at home. Small note i would have loved to buy a full hardcover cookbook if it were available but unfortunately it is not. The kitchen was really clean and they were really attentive to alergies. Even though this would normally not be something I would enjoy doing the timing was great and we got plenty of time to enjoy our food after. Would 100% recommend going here. Especially since the price is really good considering it combines an activity with dinner.

On a nonstop rainy day in Bali, we were desperate to find some indoor activities and this cooking class turned out to be a wonderful surprise! We had no expectations going in, but the experience was fun, well-organized, and just the right length. We learned to cook some of the main Indonesian dishes, and the results were absolutely delicious. A great way to spend the day, rain or shine!
Hildur J — Google review
My wife and I had the best experience during our private cooking class. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious! We highly recommend adding this experience to your Bali itinerary!
Jordan G — Google review
This cooking course was fantastic from start to finish. The tour of the market gave you a lot of different impressions and you were guided through the local fruits and vegetables, as well as the different spices for the traditional Balinese dishes. When we arrived at the location of the cooking class, we had a welcome drink with wonderful friendly people who let us into their home. The cooking class was a lot of fun, everyone was allowed to cook and everything was explained in detail. The food was absolutely amazing! We received a recipe book at the end. I really recommend this cooking course to everyone.

The Air Terjun Bandung waterfall is a beautiful place to visit, with a quiet setting and few tourists. The locals are very friendly and are working to improve the facilities there, including donations from visitors. It's also fun to climb around under the waterfall and swim in the water if it is clean.
Very clean and well maintained. Entrance fee is IDR 20.000. They provide rubber tubes for you to play in the water. They have a changing room in case you need to change before and after soaked in the water. I came here weekday, and nobody is there. I have the whole area for myself. The Waterfall is so beautiful! There was a man selling tickets and another man who was keeping an eye on us, making sure we were safe. You can swim in certain spots too. It wasn’t busy when we went which was nice. There was also a really cute duck 🦆

Stunning waterfall!! Also only IDR20K per ticket, which was the cheapest out of the three waterfalls we’ve seen, but also the most beautiful. There were only 3 other people, it was possible to swim and it was just absolutely breathtaking. It’s only a little walk down the stairs to reach the waterfall. This was our favourite one, would definitely recommend visiting this one.

Lucky enough to have it to ourselves on our visit. Was merely 20,000 (€1) entry per person - Take a pair of water shoes with you and your own towel and watch where you jump in, of course and you'll have a bit of fun. Go visit if you get the chance.

I had this place all to myself when I visited! It’s pretty small and there’s not much to do but it was so peaceful. It’s also a short walk from the main road/entrance so this is recommended even if you’re not that fit.

There is a spot to buy a ticket and a little motorcycle parking area at the entrance. The man at the entrance was very friendly and told us if we go down “the boys” would show us where to swim. My husband and I were convinced that the boys were two ducks down there, as we didn’t see anyone until we were leaving (he had been there the whole time, but just out of sight from us! He seemed nice!). I would probably not recommend this waterfall, as it is a bit treacherous to get down into the water and the water is very polluted. There is a spot to jump that said “the only jumping spot” that looked very sketchy. I would not recommend jumping here. It also did not look possible to access the waterfall itself (which was just dirty water cascading over a manmade dam). Nice jungle spot though aside from the water and we had to place to ourselves, so it was quiet and peaceful.

Our daughter absolutely loves her time at Cheeky Monkeys Early Learning in Sanur. The environment is warm, nurturing, and full of fun and learning—everything you’d want from a quality early childhood centre. One of the things we really value is their bilingual approach, with the kids learning and communicating in both English and Indonesian. It’s been amazing to see how naturally our daughter switches between the two! A huge thank you to Ibu Dayu and Ibu Made—they’re kind, patient, and truly passionate about what they do. You can really feel how much they care for the children, and it shows in how happy and engaged the kids are each day. Nicole E — Google review
When we arrived in Bali for our one year stay, our 5 year old daughter did not speak any English. We decided to enroll her in the Cheeky Monkeys summer program, which was a great decision. In the summer teachers have less kids to take care of and they can dedicate more attention to their pupils. From the first day the staff did an amazing job, to help our child in what is one of the most stressful experiences. Since then through all the year not even once said she doesn't want to go to the Cheeky Monkeys. Thanks to the teachers, our daughter made amazing progress with the language and numeracy. She made a lot of friends from around the world and learned a lot about the rich Balinese Culture. The Cheeky Monkeys has a great homely atmosphere, where kids truly can feel safe and loved. Inner garden offers them a lot of places to play outside. You can bring your own lunch or use the kindergartens catering service. This kindergarten will forever remain as one of our most cherished memories from Bali, thank you so much Cheeky Monkeys.
Marek K — Google review
My 3-year-old son attended Cheeky Monkey for just a month due to visa issues. We were really worried because of the language barrier and the new country and environment. However, to our surprise, the teachers at this school are incredibly kind and loving. It took only two or three days for our son to go from being reluctant to loving the school. Every morning when we dropped him off, he would run to the teachers or hug them voluntarily, something we had never experienced at previous kindergartens. We are truly grateful for this warm and wonderful experience and highly recommend this school to others! Thank you, Ibu Eva and Ibu Nisa!

We had an amazing time at the Mason Elephant 🐘!! The wife went for a ride on her first ever elephant. Impressive to see how well the elephants are treated and cared for. The workers explained how each elephant has a different schedule each day and rotates between resting and getting baths as well as swimming. The park was very impressive and we were excited to visit. All the workers were extremely kind and helpful however we wanted to shout out our guide “Wayan” and the gentleman (Made) who took the wife for a ride on “Nopi” the artist elephant! Great little elephant park and good to see the elephants being rescued from their former lives!

The hotel is beautiful, very well maintained and the staff provide excellent service. As a guest, I felt very well taken care of. The bed was very comfortable with a lovely soft mattress, which made the room experience very pleasant. However, as an animal lover, I found certain aspects of the park troubling. Personally, I would have preferred the chance to quietly observe the elephants in a more natural setting, rather than seeing them perform in ways that felt more like a show. I also noticed some behaviors in the elephants that seemed to indicate stress, and it was upsetting to see that at night the elephants are chained by their legs. This made it difficult for me to sleep peacefully, knowing the animals were restrained. While I truly appreciate the quality of the hotel itself, these issues mean I would not choose to return.

We stayed for two nights in a Park View Room, and it was absolutely sensational. Waking up to the sight and sounds of the elephants in the early morning — and watching them wander peacefully at night — was a truly magical experience. The park is beautifully maintained, and it’s clear how well the elephants are cared for by their dedicated mahouts. The Mammoths Head Bar is a lovely spot for breakfast with a relaxing atmosphere and great views. We also enjoyed the Treetop Cocktail Bar, which is perfect for an afternoon drink or evening snacks — great cocktails and friendly service. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the main restaurant menu, which feels a little limited and not particularly inspired by local Balinese cuisine. Also, food and drinks across the property are quite pricey — roughly double what you’d pay at nearby local spots. That said, the overall experience was magnificent — peaceful, memorable, and deeply moving. Mason Elephant Lodge is a truly special place where you can see genuine care for the animals and enjoy an unforgettable stay surrounded by nature.

absolutely loved this place! The park is super green, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. You can even stay in small houses inside the park and live close to the elephants — such a unique experience. We got to feed them fruits and also chose the activity to wash the elephants, which was amazing! The elephants clearly enjoyed the care and attention. You can also ride or swim with them for an extra fee. Visiting this park feels meaningful because it’s all about giving the elephants love and care, not harm. Truly unforgettable experience!

We stayed one night at the lodge and it was an amazing experience. The room was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. All the experiences with the elephants were very well organized and we created wonderful memories. The elephants were well treated and you could see the love and dedication that the staff had for them. The only negative point for us was the food. For such a wonderful place, the food quality was really underwhelming at breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are still giving 5 stars but this point needs urgent attention. Thank you

Such an amazing first day to our honeymoon in Bali. The elephants are well looked after here and the guides are very kind and helpful, they help you get some amazing photos and videos to remember your experience. We washed and fed elephants and also did a ride. We would recommend doing some of the extra activities, as if you came just for entrance only you might feel a little underwhelmed, many of the elephants were either being used for activities or behind the scenes (which you can see from the ride). The ride was much longer than we expected, about 30 minutes through the jungle and was such an amazing experience.

Visited and stayed at the park twice and can’t wait to visit again. Elephants are so well cared for, but I have seen people say elephants are chained, they give rides etc, please please please take time to find out more information. The are only chained for food and sleeping for safety, yes they have rides but take time to learn about the paths around the park, specially designed for their feet, the chairs on their backs are also specially designed. It is a truly magical place, I can’t recommend it highly enough, it’s a very special place
Amanda A — Google review
I did a bit of research before going and read some reviews that didn’t convince me, but I decided to visit anyway to see things for myself. I didn’t like it at all. It was beautiful to see those majestic animals up close and even more amazing to touch them, but seeing the “keepers” who take the elephants for the “safari ride” using spikes on their heads was really upsetting. I also don’t agree with the safari ride itself. The place felt quite small considering the number of elephants they have. You can also see the chains in the areas where each elephant stays. In short, I don’t recommend it — I’d rather support a place where animals are freer and, if possible, can return to their natural habitat.

Teba Sari Bali Agrotourism, located in the Ubud area of Bali, offers a unique opportunity to witness the production process of Luwak coffee. Visitors can observe how Asian palm civets eat, digest, and extract the coffee beans. The tour also includes a stroll through the beautiful coffee garden and an insight into local daily activities. Guests can indulge in tasting sessions featuring various types of locally made coffee, including Luwak coffee, as well as Bali chocolate and rice wine.
Really like the place. The stuffs were really friendly, actually I should appreciate their marketing strategy. The ladies will take you through the farm and show you the plants of coffee and spices. They'll also show the processing plant of coffee. You'll find Luak who helps to make world's most expensive coffee. Then they'll feed you all of their coffee, tea and chocolate production for free. You can buy their products at reasonable price. Overall, its good experience.

This place was a great stop. I've done coffee tours before but this was excellent and I loved every single tea. They lose a star because they claim to only keep the cats captive for 24 hours to correct their $hit and use it to make coffee but that didn't seem honest, I think they provably keep them longer to actually get them fed and to pass the coffee through.
Willow R — Google review
The coffee is really great here. The staffs are also good. They will tell you how to make the coffee. They will show you around. The coffee farm is really nice. They will give you permission to make the coffee yourself. The process is really authentic.. They will give you some free tea but if you want to drink the coffee lwak then you have to pay 50,000 idr for one cup. The place is also nice for taking picture. Nice place. Highly recommended.

What happened for us is that we were on our way to Ubud from Canggu and our taxi driver kindly asked us if we wanted to stop to a coffee tasting with not extra fees. We accepted. First of all, all the animals they have are either in small cages (the lukahs which they use for coffee) or they are attached like this owl and they used them for paying pictures with the customers. The coffee tasting : we had 6 « types »of coffee and 6 « teas ». Everything was just 50% coconut sugar and 50% something else. It was the most sugary beverages (except 1 coffee which wasn’t good at all). The boutique : after that they bring you to the boutique where you really are under pressure for buying because the tasting is free of charge. It is pricey and it doesn’t feel authentic at all, everything being wrapped in plastic. A lot of taxi drivers were waiting at the entrance. Maybe our driver really wanted to bring us to a nice place but it felt more like a scam to me.

The chocolate making process was explained live and amazingly delicious chocolates without sugar. The cocoa seeds are grown there. The guides are very friendly and helpful. Gave us a tour about the farm and coffees, teas and chocolates process. They also gave us the 14 varieties of tea to taste which helped in deciding on the flavours to pick up later. My favourites were ginseng and ginger tea. They had some luwaks in a cage. Didn’t really like the famous Luwak coffee. They also had a python and owl for pictures purpose. This was just a small part of the farm. They have a bigger farm else where. This is the last tourist destination in our trip.

We stopped by this place since it’s not so far from Bali Swing. You can stop by this small place to try the coffee and tea and take a look at some herb plants. A quick tour for those who doesn’t have much time left in hand and want to try Kopi Luwak. A set of different kinds of tea and coffee is free for you to try. But if you want to try the Kopi Luwak, you have to pay. Sorry I don’t remember the price we paid. The Kopi Luwak comes with three flavors of chocolate to have it with the coffee, which is pretty nice. The atmosphere there with the set of coffee can be a pleasant way to relax especially if you just finish the Bali Swing.

Great experience of a plantation tour - they grow their own cocoa, coffee etc. The show you the kopi luwak process including seeing some luwaks. Tour ends with a great selection of teas - ginger, hibiscus, and coffees including a kopi luwak brew display. We also tried arak (and know we don't want anymore of it!). The shop had a great selection of all their teas, coffees, and they accept credit cards. Very helpful and friendly staff. Loved the experience - my 2 teenage boys didn't mind it, they never complained of being bored. Great stop on the way back from Ubud and money forest.

Really nice place. As we enter the entrance, one of the guides walks with us explaining all the plants there. They speaks English very well, so if you come with foreigners, you don't have to be as a translator :D the good part from visiting this place is they serves us a lot of little cups of their products. Tea, Coffee, and Chocolates!! My favorite were Lemongrass Tea and piece of Orange Chocolate. Afterwards, the guide shows us where we can buy their products. The prices are too high (in my opinion) but I bought one little pack (100gr) of Lemongrass Tea Powder, cost IDR80.000. Overall, it was nice for visiting this place.

Alas Harum Bali, located near Tegalalang Rice Terrace in the northern part of Ubud, offers a variety of exciting activities set amidst a picturesque jungle landscape. Visitors can enjoy solo and tandem swings, bird nests, a dancing bridge, park walks, coffee tastings, zip-lining, and even sky biking. Additionally, the adjacent Cretya day club features a restaurant and an impressive pool for relaxation after a day of adventure.
Visited Alas Harum Bali and it was a wonderful experience! The place is beautifully designed with plenty of social media photo spots, and honestly, you’ll need almost a full day to explore the property completely. Right at the entrance, there’s a coffee-making demo along with a showcase of luwak animals, which was quite interesting. We tried the bed swing and single swing – both were amazing! Swing dresses are available for hire on-site, adding to the experience. The view from the swings is breathtaking, overlooking lush rice terraces and natural beauty . The only downside was the long waiting time for swings and the hot sun, plus outside food and water aren’t allowed (but everything is available inside). Overall, it’s a must-visit for unique photos, adventure, and scenic views – just go prepared for the crowd and sun!
Anoop G — Google review
I was honestly a bit skeptical about visiting Alas Harum in Bali because of all the negative reviews, but deep down I really wanted that swing photo—so I went for it. And I’m so glad I did! At the entrance you pay an entry fee, and even if you don’t go for the swing shoot, the ticket gives you access to explore their entire property. The place is stunning—lush rice fields, gorgeous viewpoints, and a beautifully maintained property with countless photo spots. I went for the Super Extreme Swing, and luckily there was no wait at all (guess it was my lucky day 😂). I bought the swing tickets along with a gown rental and photo package. The process was super smooth—picked my gown, got help from a staff member to wear it, and off I went. The photos came out amazing! In total, everything cost me around ₹4,000–4,500 INR, and the best part is you can keep the gown on afterward and roam the property to click as many pictures as you like. They have tons of creative photo props scattered around. One tip: don’t make the mistake I did and wear heels—it’s tough going up and down the rice terraces. Overall, it was such a fulfilling experience—my little Bali dream come true. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. If swing photos are on your Bali bucket list, this is hands down the best place. The views from here are unmatched compared to other spots I’ve seen.

It was quite busy when we went on a Thursday around 1 PM. At the entrance, the first activity was the Luwak coffee experience, and they also had civets on site. The lady there, named Armi, did a great job explaining and showing us the process of making Luwak coffee — we found it really interesting. After that, we went to see the swings and planned to try the Super Extreme Swing. However, the most popular one already had 26 people in line, so we decided not to go through with it. Instead, we explored the area, walked through the attractions, and took photos. We also stopped by the café for some drinks to cool off from the hot afternoon. We came back on Saturday morning around 9 AM after checking out another attraction that also offered swings and dress rentals. In the end, we decided to return here because we liked the view better. Thankfully, there were no lines at our preferred swing that time, and we were able to take photos and videos without the crowd. Overall, I think the 50K entrance fee and the 460K+ we spent on the swing and dress rental were worth it. It was a great experience and definitely a must when visiting Bali.

Great explanation by Ibu Rempini for the coffee luwak process! She entertained us nicely and her explanation was clear. In fact all the staff here in Alas Harum are very polite. The food here is also Muslim friendly and they have musholla for Muslims to pray. My visit here was so great, overall it was an awesome experience. Worth every penny. Highly recommended to buy tickets in advanced! 😍🥰

Amazing place with incredible views over the rice terraces. We learned about the process of making Luwak coffee, one of the most expensive coffees in the world, which was very interesting. The spot is beautifully designed with photo areas, swings, and peaceful nature around. A great experience to enjoy culture, nature and taste different coffees and teas.

Alas Harum is one of the most beautiful spots in Ubud! Stunning rice terrace views, friendly staff, great coffee, and fun activities like the swing and sky bike. A perfect combination of adventure and relaxation.
Kaken — Google review
The coffees are average, the view is nice. The entrance fee is 50k without the pool, and if you want to enter the pool area it’s 200k. You can have coffee at places with a better view, it doesn’t really have much of an aura. The pool doesn’t look clean.

I had a great time here and would consider this place as a must visit in Bali. The big swing was a great experience, and a must do. You will get a lot of nice pictures for social media here. I suggest pre-booking tickets to avoid the queues to buy the tickets. The only let down was the long wait for the swings, which is of course understandable.

The Hidden Canyon Mini Zoo in Bali offers a unique opportunity to witness and interact with exotic wildlife. Located in Guwang Village, Sukawati Gianyar, this mini zoo provides intimate encounters with carefully selected endemic animals. This attraction is perfect for families looking to explore the wonders of Bali. Visitors can touch and hold the animals while capturing memorable photos without worrying about their health or wellbeing. The friendly and knowledgeable staff make this experience unforgettable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hidden mini zoo in Bali. A short experience perfect for out 2.5yo. We got a grab out there and luckily got one back. Our family paid their driver to hang around as it is relatively remote. Prices a bit high but we didn't mind paying when the animals look happy and healthy and the staff were great. Purchase tickets at the entrance.

This zoo is a hidden gem. Tucked away from the road it was a lovely surprise. They have a wide range of birds and animals, many out of cages. This place is perfect for children and adults alike. Not wheelchair friendly, unfortunately.
Lesley M — Google review
Great interactive mini zoo where we could hold some animals which was included in entry fee. Could have paid extra for more special interactions but my kids were happy with the 8 or so they hot to hold and have pics with! Cafe at the end which you get a free drink with ticket. Even had a kids playground!
Trudie L — Google review
Really cool place with all sorts of amazing animals, a lot of which you can hold. Food at the resturant was decent and well-priced too. Id highly recommend this over the zoo or the safari park. My only suggestion to management: After experiencing the main park and seeing how great it was I would have happily paid the extra for the 'special encounter'. The fact that I would have had to pay an extra premium due to not committing when I bought the initial ticket is what put me off.

Amazing hidden gem located close to Bali Bird Park. You can get up close with some amazing creatures and hold and feed a select few. The handlers are super attentive and clearly love their work. A definite highlight for your trip to Bali! Get there early to avoid the crowds, we has the animals to ourselves for the first half hour.

Very small with mainly birds and reptiles. Very affordable entry price. Great little cafe at the end with delicious food, and it overlooks the rice fields so great view while you eat.
Kirsty D — Google review
This is a private zoo—super small, and there aren’t many animals. Tickets are around 20 Aussie dollars. It’s located in a countryside area. But the main thing is, the interaction time is long and there are tons of animals you can interact with, so you end up staying a while and it feels worth the price. Half the people there are Chinese, half are Westerners. You can grab a Coke at the exit with your ticket stub!

Krisna Funtasticland is a kid-oriented amusement park located in North Bali. It offers classic fairground rides and colorful light installations, making it a great destination for families with young children. The park opens at 4pm and offers affordable entrance tickets, with the option to purchase a full pass for access to all attractions. In addition to the rides, there is also a water park, shopping center, and food court on site.
We had a great time at Krisna Funtastic Land! It’s a perfect place for a fun family day out. There are so many rides and activities for both kids and adults to enjoy. The park was clean, well-organized, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was lively, and we loved seeing everyone having such a good time. It’s also a very affordable way to spend a few hours with the family. We created so many happy memories here — definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area!

Mutia D — Google review
We visited on a Tuesday evening, arrived around 6PM. 2 kids (7 and 8). It's not really a theme park, rather a fairground. There are 2 tickets: a basic ticket (85k; entry only) and a full ticket (250k; entry plus every ride ONE time). 3 of the main rides (including the ferris wheel) were closed but you don't get a compensation for it, can't do an extra ride on something else. If you want to do extra rides, you pay extra - and those, too, have inflated prices for foreigners. The park was deserted and in dire need of repairs. Most attractions were really old, damaged or out of order. There was only 1 5D film on show and since there isn't really a lot else to do AND I specifically asked if it was appropriate for children, we went in to see it. It was some kind of dated horror/monster film, my 7 year old was completely freaked out. There are only 10-12 working attractions, all of which are old and very basic (I would not recommend going with children over 8 or 9 years old if you are used to European/American/Australian theme parks). There are no queues so it took us just an hour to do all of them. Staff are friendly but there are more of them than there are visitors. The kids had a good time but they don't pay the bills of course and frankly I don't think it's worth the money. Indonesians pay 105k which is a fair price seeing how basic and decrepit the attractions are. For 14€ per person (250k) there are way better playgrounds in Europe (Belgium/Netherlands) with more modern equipment and better safety instructions where the kids can play all day. Now I paid 42€ for 1 hour which is just not worth it. There is a restaurant with some very simple fast food options on the menu, but that too was mostly deserted.

The price was a little bit overprice and not worth compared with the rides there. This place actually has really potencial to be one of the best amusement park in Bali, but need maintenance in some aspects

Great place to go with young kids - opens from 4pm and closes 10pm. Recommend to go when the sun goes down so you can see the light installations in which there was a boat that took us through a venetian style canal which gives a great view of the lights. Our kids liked the train and the merry go round. 😀

It's ok. A few attractions. Not big at all. It's Fun not Funtastic. Within 3 minutes you have seen the whole park. There are 2 options for tickets. 1. Only pay the entrance ticket and then pay for every attraction. Or 2. Pay ticket including all attractions 1 time.

They have attraction for all ages but probably more suitable for younger kids. There is a main pool with a small water playground in the center, 3 small slides, lazy river, 2 big slides. There s also a basket ball field and I think an Olympic pool , not sure if can be used at the park. Toilet and restaurant facilities. The places is clean and organized. Prices affordable, in general, enjoyable to spend fun times with your kids.

This pool is quite clean. Entrance fee is reasonable, but you need to rent everything else (locker, gazebo, etc). Food and service is okay. The place could up their maintenance and place more safety signs. The kids shallow pool is too slippery.

We're go here regularly. Not because it's exceptionally good but because it's good enough for kids up until about ten years old. The place is fairly maintainer with the exception of the bigger slides that are bad qualify and our daughter got a scratch wound from one of the slides. Things that might not be surprising but also makes the review score low, although I will come back again next month.

i've been here with my girlfriend, entrance for local is 56k rupiah but for foreigners it's 6dollars per person, and must pay extra 10k rp for locker, tube, towel each. and all of the facility is for kids only two big slides it's for adults. It's a great place for locals to briNg their kids here but not suggest for tourists to come here, it's wasting time and money
