Located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, Uraidla Hotel is renowned for its top-notch brewery, Uraidla Brewery. This eco-conscious establishment prides itself on sustainability and sources its produce locally or from their own garden. The hotel offers a variety of craft beers such as Half Moon Pale Ale and Old Ones IPA. Visitors can savor delicious meals like Ploughmans Board and Charred Cabbage while enjoying the historic ambiance with stone walls, fireplaces, and a charming Glass House.
(I can give star ratings for rooms(because you're listed as a hotel foremost to a restaurant I guess but I can't speak to them), service and location are both 5s, if I could rate your food, it'd be a four, rating systems like this are harsh, I'd give an overall rating of 4 1/2 but I can't, I'd rather list and overall 5 than a 4.) The Uraidla hotel is beautiful, in a gorgeous location, it's beautifully decorated and on cold nights that fireplace is wonderful. We've been 4 or 5 times overall and never had an experience that would stop us coming back. This review is a bit late, we attended on the 25th of September. Theresa served us for the most part, she was kind and timely and real. We really enjoyed her service. Food time, the menu this time around did not seem as earthly as previous visits, however there was great variety and we really enjoyed everything. A friend ordered her steak medium-well, which was more medium-rare. (This was fine with us as she orders medium-well to make up for an undercook, but a fussier steak eater may have been returned it.) We ordered three of the desserts and shared them between the four of us. Our only issue was that the warm apple crumble wasn't warm enough, more room temperature in the middle. Good points though, we enjoyed everything we ordered, the steak tasted great, was cooked to a standard we enjoyed, the rump was amazing (it was the table favourite), another had the surf and turf pie and enjoyed it, we got the potatos and the "garlic bread" (apologies, Ive forgotten what this was actually called on the menu, and Ive forgotten a main meal item.) We also enjoyed all our desserts. No complaints on the drinks, we were here for my birthday and I came here for beer, the coconut stout the Uraidla brewery makes is one of my favourite stouts made in Australia. This year they made an imperial coconut stout instead which is just as good. The only problem with this is I can't have as many!

Had a wonderful lunch today. Not been for a while and love the new menu! My husband had the pie and Moreton bay bug. Just perfect, beautiful creamy mash and generous serve of perfectly cooked broccolini. The bug had a tasty creamy sauce and was a lovely touch, just the right sized portion. I had the Josper chilli chicken with flatbread and rice which was actually recommended to me by another customer. It was 10/10. One of the best lunches I’ve had in a long time. Certainly didn’t miss a beef shnitty, and judging by how busy it was no one else did. Interesting menu and beautiful place and ambience. Staff were perfect, just enough attention without overkill. Took empty plates quickly even though I’m not offended if they don’t whip it off the table the minute my fork goes down. I never eat dessert as dislike sugar but my husband ordered the syrup and ginger pudding and I ended up eating 1/2 of it. Just perfect in every way. Loved that it came with ice cream and cream! Will definitely be back!

Great food, customer service and location. Second visit in a month. No complaints either time and will definitely be going back again. Lovely modern food and the pub classics are there also if you want them! So great to be able to recommend this place!

I was unable to put a star rating for food as this option is not available. Eden is an amazing waitress with fantastic attention to detail. One of us had The mushroom tofu burger was disappointing on a few levels, it was rather dry and bland. A mushroom patty should be moist & bursting with flavour. The fries were lovely though. I had the wedges which had a really tasty coating. Sour cream portion was great. Now to Dessert, I ordered the Warm Apple Crumble Sundae, what a disappointment, warm it definitely wasn’t. I asked just to confirm about the warm aspects. Another one was bought out which was also cold. I was looking forward to it all day. The crumble overpowered all the other flavors in the dish. My suggestion that if this is how it is going to be served, maybe rename. For $15 this was such a small portion also crammed into a very small dish. The atmosphere was lovely. Just such a shame that I was so excited to come for a meal and we are leaving disappointed. Thanks Eden you are a superstar.

Easy to book our preferred seating area. Very quaint and cosy in the older areas of the pub, with a couple of fires going too, perfect. A range of fresh vege gardens growing to the side were evident on the plate, with a very fresh crispy salad! Mushroom gravy was the tastiest I’ve had for many years. A perfect pub!

Teresa is a star! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just had the best 300g porterhouse with Paris butter at Uraidla Pub and I’m still thinking about it! The steak was cooked to perfection - but what really made the night was our waitress Teresa. This woman is an absolute gem! Her service was spot-on - attentive, warm, and genuine. We ended up chatting and found out she’s studying film after originally pursuing architecture. Her passion and energy are infectious, and she brought such a positive vibe to the whole experience. Great food is one thing, but service like Teresa’s is what turns a good meal into a memorable night out. She’s the kind of server who makes you want to come back just to say hi. Do yourself a favor - visit Uraidla Pub and ask for Teresa. You won’t regret it! 1/2 star Teresa

had the most SUCCULENT burger. the beef patty was so moist that exorbitant amounts of juice would squirt out on to my plate whenever i would take a bite. i could’ve used a straw to eat it. i seriously felt i needed a lifeguard at the end of that meal. it was excellent 🫶 also, such a beautiful pub love it there :)

We come to Uraidla Hotel every 4-6 months and every time we leave so satisfied! The food is always exceptional, the wine list is huge and has some of the best wines we have ever had! I highly recommended it

The Archer is a historic pub located in North Adelaide that has recently reopened under new ownership. The venue offers a visually aesthetic dining experience with its old heritage charm and library dining room complete with books. The focus is on providing good mainstream and affordable beer and food, catering to South Australia's passionate football and cricket followers who often visit before heading to Adelaide Oval. Situated on the bustling O'Connell Street, it serves as a popular spot for students from neighboring residential colleges.
This hidden gem is located in North Adelaide. Came on Sunday night for a casual dinner. Food was absolutely amazing!! We ordered a few dishes and were very impressed with how good they tasted. All were delicious, probably one of the best PUBS in ADL. Service was excellent and quick. I love the old building and vibes inside. Definitely highly recommend this place for a tryout with your loved ones!

Great quick service. Pizza was delicious. Huge variety of drinks. The local Lager (Archer Lager) is fantastic. Reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stopped in on a Thursday evening for dinner and the new gluten free options are delicious. The crumb on the chicken schnitzel was so crispy and tasty. I had it with the green peppercorn sauce and the mushroom gravy (couldn’t help myself) and they were the best I’ve had. The chips were perfect and salad dressing tasty. My partner had the burger with potato bun and loved it. Corn ribs were also great. Will definitely be back!

Great pub to watch the sport. Pizzas were a hit with the kids. Archers pale ale was popular with our group, as well as the Guinness. Thanks for the pre-match build up in a warm, friendly environment.

I celebrated my 21st birthday at The Archer, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was absolutely spot on—lively, welcoming, and full of character. It had that perfect mix of energy and comfort that made the night feel special without being over the top. The food was fantastic—everything we ordered was fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavour. Paired with a great selection of drinks and friendly, attentive service, it really made for a memorable night. Whether you’re planning a celebration or just looking for a great pub to relax with friends, I’d definitely recommend The Archer. I couldn’t have asked for a better spot to ring in my 21st.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Service was quick and friendly. Meals came out without having to wait for too long especially with time limits on car parking in the area. My Pork Belly was delicious. Decent serving size cooked just right. My Wife had the Chicken Parmi was a good size again but she thought it was a bit bland lacking flavour. Keen to try the other things on the menu when we come next time.
Shane — Google review
Pros: extremely friendly staff. Beef schnitzel: $22 cooked well. Diane sauce seemed lacking a bit of cream Steak sandwich: $23 delicious & hearty with all the trimmings. Ciabatta was warm which is a plus. Scotch fillet steak: $35 well seasoned….a little over salted (a touch). Ordered rare but decided blue. Didn’t complain as we can stomach it but others may be complaining about it. We prefer underdone than over done, but considering price, chef really should be bang on. Gravy seemed like a jus, tasty but not thick enough to grab onto the steak Kids cheeseburger: $9 tasty, well portioned but lacking a little salad.

Tucked away in Adelaide, this hotel pub is an absolute gem that stands out for its cool atmosphere and impressive beer selection. The decor is tastefully done, with cozy corners and stylish seating areas that make it easy to relax and unwind. Whether you're there for a casual drink or a night out with friends, the vibe is always spot on. The lighting is just right—not too dim, not too bright—and there's a laid-back buzz in the air that makes you want to stay for hours. What really sets this place apart, though, is the beer. The selection is fantastic, featuring a mix of local craft brews and well-known favorites. Whether you're a fan of crisp lagers, hoppy IPAs, or rich stouts, there's something on tap to suit your taste. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about their beers, always ready to recommend something new or pour you a perfectly chilled pint. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Now this is an old style pub. With a unique internal dining area out back but some other areas are very basic. But then comes the great service and very good food. I've been here off and on over the years and always found that food and service to be too notch. Go there to enjoy the experience.

I love the Exeter! By far my favorite pub in the city. Great staff, amazing atmosphere, amazing venue and plenty of seating. Only thing I wish they had was a pool table, but it can’t be perfect
Mr Y — Google review
Stopped by The Exeter Hotel and decided to go classic with their chicken schnitzel topped with creamy mushroom sauce — and it did not disappoint! The schnitzel was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, while tender and juicy inside. The mushroom sauce added a rich, earthy flavour that complemented the crunch beautifully. It came with a generous side of crispy chips and a fresh salad, balancing the meal perfectly. Pairing it with a cold pint just made it even better — the ideal pub lunch combo! Overall, a hearty and satisfying meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a must-try if you’re craving a classic schnitty done right! 👌

Easily the best east end pub for a drink and hangout with mates. Great wines too. Love the atmosphere inside and out, and even better during the fringe. Would recommend. Great place to start a night out on the town as well.

Went for a boozy lunch with a large group, meal service was fairly quick and the meal was good and fresh. I was surprised and pleased at the level of cleanliness as well considering the enormous foot traffic this place has. And for those of you who have never done so try the eggplant parmigiana it’s surprisingly delicious

The duck l’orange pie with creamy mash and the best jus - together with a spectacular Tempranillo - was a Friday lunch made in Heaven! Who knew? The Ex makes the BEST pies! Pastry which melts in your mouth surrounding delectable duck flavoured with a touch of orange. You didn’t know that The Ex can cook? Get out from under your rock and just go order from their wide, interesting, luscious menu. You’ll be rewarded.

The Austral Hotel, located at 205 Rundle Street in Adelaide, is a vibrant hub of activity in the city's CBD. This historic establishment hosts a variety of events such as steak nights, quiz nights, and art exhibitions. The venue offers classic pub fare and features a delectable nut sundae on its dessert menu. With its recent renovation, the hotel now boasts an inviting atmosphere with mosaic-topped footpath tables.
The staff here were great. They have so many types of Coopers (the rainbow) it was amazing, the staff knew all about them, Vintage Ale was awesome. There are daily specials, great value, quick friendly service, could not ask for better, it just generates a great atmosphere.

Good place to have drinks and catchup with friends , in middle of town and easily accessible. Busy place and can do with bit more staff training, not sure about servers name but girl serving drinks was may be underpressure or maybe judging less spending customers. Still recommend to go there for a drink.
Om V — Google review
We found this place by accident. We had wandered up and down various city streets looking for an Aussie pub for lunch and this was perfect. A bit of confusion over what is a pint of beer and an imperial pint but the bar staff patiently explained it as they are used to dealing with ignorant interstaters. The Negroni Old Barrel was delicious and I left feeling very mellow. Lunch was very tasty and great service. I agree that the bathrooms are so bad they are a talking point in themselves but give me good food and good service and good value alcohol and you won’t get any complaints from me.

I visited The Austral on Tuesday steak night and had an amazing experience. The highlight of the evening was the incredible service from Aileen, the manager. She was warm, friendly, and extremely accommodating from the moment we arrived. Aileen checked in regularly to make sure everything was going smoothly and ensured our steaks were cooked exactly to our liking. She handled every request with genuine care and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. Her communication was fantastic, and she balanced professionalism with a relaxed, welcoming attitude that made the night feel enjoyable and easygoing. It’s rare to come across someone who goes above and beyond so effortlessly, but Aileen truly did. Her service elevated the entire dining experience, and it’s clear she takes great pride in making people feel comfortable and well looked after. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant, and thanks to Aileen, the night felt personal and memorable. We will definitely be returning — highly recommend checking out Tuesday steak night and asking for Aileen! shay was also a very great bartender ! friendly and knowledgeable

Great pub, awesome staff and fantastic food. Male toilets were atrocious.... Stainless steel bowl with piss all over it, graffiti all over, broken paper dispenser and finally no soap available..... I've been to a few pub toilets and THIS was the worst.

Great pub. Central location. Great food at a reasonable price. $18 cheeseburger is great. Coopers on tap probably the cheapest in town and fresh too.

Pub
Nestled in the heart of Adelaide, the Crown & Anchor Hotel, affectionately known as 'The Cranker,' is a vibrant hub for live music enthusiasts. This historic pub, dating back to the 1850s, boasts a laid-back atmosphere that perfectly complements its grungy decor. It's not just a place to grab a drink; it's where unforgettable nights unfold with local bands and renowned artists alike gracing its stage.
Great for small local gigs and up and coming bands wanting to tour! Great vibe and perfect for some drinks and hangouts with friends, paid, and street parking nearby as well
Nicole V — Google review
they use their wheelchair accessible/disabled bathroom as a store cupboard and keep it locked at all times. almost genuinely peed myself multiple times, and when telling them this they said “sorry but we keep stuff in there.” absolutely not acceptable, not to mention illegal. you CANNOT keep your only accessible bathroom locked, and should not be using it as a store room - disabled people go to pubs too. even after the third time of me needing the bathroom, they still locked it. after the third time they also locked the only ENTRANCE into/out of the building with an accessible ramp so that i couldn’t get in/out. They’re so concerned with people not standing on the street so they don’t get a fine but don’t give a damn about making sure their disabled customers can access anything. Sort your priorities out.

The Crown and Anchor Hotel is an Adelaide institution for a reason. It is a no frills pub that welcomes everyone. Great drinks range. Live music. Friendly staff. Pool table.

Fantastic venue and community space. This iconic place has been bringing people together for years. I love coming here to listen to live music and have drinks with friends. Everyone is always friendly and the toilets are surprisingly okay. Plus the best spaghetti restaurant upstairs, what more could you ask for?

The best! An institution in Adelaide for live music. Looking forward to seeing the refurbished version too. For now see you at the Edinburgh Castle.

The Crown and Anchor, or 'The Cranker', is a great spot to unwind and enjoy some nostalgia. The friendly bar staff are quick to serve up your favorite drinks, with Coopers being a popular choice. The band room is a big hit. Local bands play most nights, creating a fun and lively atmosphere. There are also stand-up comedy shows from time to time. Don't forget to play a game of pool while you're there, it's a part of the whole 'Cranker' experience. In short, The Crown and Anchor is a classic pub where you can enjoy good beer, great music, and meet some interesting locals. It's a must-visit if you're in Adelaide.

The Grace Emily Hotel is a classic old-school pub located in the city's West End, with a history dating back to 1839. This music-lover's watering hole is known for its commitment to live music, offering consistently excellent performances most nights of the week. The pub boasts a legendary Monday open mic night that has been running for two decades.
Me and my friends love this place. Good music, good vibes, good people around! I’m absolutely obsessed with this bar. We hang out every weekend at this place, is so fun, you can meet random people with so much energy! Lovely bar. Should be awesome if they sell some food, that’s what you miss when you go there. The good thing is you can get any Uber eats or food from home 🤗

What John M said describes this pub well. Great welcoming atmosphere, good selection of coopers beer, and a very cosy fire place with free live music. Great pub for live music. Small stage and you get to see the bands quite closely and great sound from a small venue. Front bar is cool too, old school Aussie style.

There is a lot to like about this joint. Really well set up, it looks perfect. Music, all the rest. The hospo staff are rippers. I have no idea why the publican wants pick an argument with visitors. Really bizarre. Do better mate.

The Belgian Beer Cafe in Adelaide is a charming spot that captures the essence of a traditional Belgian bistro. The interior features European oak paneling, jarrah floorboards, and vintage decor for an authentic atmosphere. Whether you're enjoying a meal or sipping on beer, the experience is unique and cozy. This dog-friendly pub offers a fantastic outdoor area where you can relax with your furry friend while indulging in delicious food and famous Belgian beers.
Friendly service, seated pretty quickly and love the convenient QR code table ordering, chips and drinks came out pretty quick, was a little bit of a wait for the pork knuckle but that's usual considering the size it is to cook. Food was cooked perfectly, chips were crispy and hot, pork was tender and moist, the vegetables were tasty and the sauce was to die for. The only critique would be the skin was a bit of a struggle as in tough and not all parts crispy but was still a great feed and would recommend a visit.

I had an incredible experience at the Belgian Beer Café — and it was made even more memorable by the exceptional service from Michael. From the moment we arrived, Michael made us feel completely welcome. His knowledge of the beer selection was top-notch — he recommended the perfect brew to match my taste and offered great insights into the different Belgian styles. You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it made the whole experience feel relaxed, friendly, and personal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with that classic European charm that makes you want to linger a little longer. The food was spot-on, the beer cold and crisp, but honestly, it was Michael’s service that stole the show. Attentive without being pushy, cheerful without being fake — just an absolute professional. Highly recommend visiting if you're after a quality beer and even better hospitality. Thanks again, Michael — we’ll definitely be back!

One of the best Negronis I've ever had! Great food, cute spot, really friendly staff. What more do you want in a bar? Would 100% recommend.

I usually visit this place either when I crave delicious draft beer and chips late at night or when I'm in the mood for a proper mussel stew with crispy baguette. This time, I came during the day and ordered a light and refreshing pale lager Stella Artois which paired perfectly with the dishes I had for a late lunch. I just wish the mussels were a bit bigger. I’ll definitely come back soon to try them again with a darker ale.

Great selection of Belgian and other European beers in the bottle, including some rare choices. I had the Zot, that was a great start, and the knowledgeable bartender also shared some other recommendations. I did try then a paddle of the tap beers, which were hit or miss. I'm not a bit fan of the fruit beers, in general. Nice chill atmosphere, sport on the TV. I didn't eat here, but I saw the plates being served and the other patrons were eating their plates clean. :)

My outing at the “ laneway social “ was marvellous!! I didn’t have a reservation and was concerned as the place was packed to the brim, but still managed to get a seat! The food was soooooo good. Quick service. The venue manager was checking in with all the patrons to make sure they were enjoying their food, very nice touch and a good thing to see someone caring so much about their job. This is the best ALH pub in Adelaide by a mile. They do good Belgian beers too.
Billy R — Google review
As previous Belgian Beer cafe patrons, we have taken this opportunity to visit the newly rebranded “Laneway Social” tonight. We wanted to go in with a clean slate and rate purely on our experience with this new establishment. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Upon entering, the music was loud; so loud that I could not hear the gentlemen greeting us and offering us some menus. We chose to sit outside for this reason. We ordered a round of drinks which was fine, but after about 20 minutes, the exact same round of drinks was brought to us even though we hadn’t ordered another round... We decided to try some food; we had the Kingfish Crudo, the Wagyu Skewers and Fried Chicken. All of the dishes were under-seasoned and sadly unimpressive. While we were still finishing up the plates (we were sharing) we were repeatedly asked by several staff if we were done and they could clear the plates. Chill, guys! Tap beers are now quite unremarkable mainstream Aussie beers (plus Guinness, albeit not served in a Guinness glass…). Could get this in any pub. In short: what made the Belgian beer cafe such a unique place and worth a visit is now completely gone, and the place has been turned into somewhere not worth a look.

I waited nearly half an hour for the food and then they gave me the daily special size schnitzel instead of the normal sized one I paid for and they also forgot to give me the mushroom sauce on the side. I was so hungry I ate it without hesitation, it was very juicy and not very crunchy. The salad was lacking onion and the chips were too dry.

The Earl of Leicester Hotel, located in the borough of Parkside, is a charming old pub that has undergone a transformation under new management. Once known for cheap pub-grub popular among young people, it now offers generous portions of delicious gastropub food and a wide selection of beers and boutique wines in its historic 1890s setting. The hotel features a bistro, gaming room, separate restaurant, and the famous Liars Bar with an impressive collection of 150 types of beer.
Chips were great, crispy with good salt seasoning. Chicken better than your average schnitzel. Pizza was something different. Great flavour and not boring

We ducked out for a cheeky, Friday long lunch at the Earl and didn’t regret it. Honestly, the sausage rolls could be served as a main as you get about half a dozen sizeable pieces. We really enjoyed the schnitzels and the gravy was next level.

I have actually been here many times over the last decade and the fact I have always come back says a lot. Known in Adelaide for their great schnitzel that’s typically what I gravitate to when I come here and this visit was no different. I used to love the SC special but as I’ve gotten older I’ve moved away from it a bit. I had the meat lovers topped schnitzel on this occasion and it was fantastic! We ordered the 600g larger one and shared with my better half and got a side of fries with it. Plenty of food for two people! Our group got a good variety of meals from the kangaroo to the steak pie and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. If I had to be picky I was say the fries were slightly overcooked and pretty expensive but we might have just got u lucky as I saw another tables come out and they looked golden and crunchier. With the upgrades over the years they have kept this pub current while still maintaining that traditional pub vibe. They also have an epic array of different beers and a recognition board for those who try them all (impossible in one visit lol). A go to pub and worth checking out if you have never been. If you’re a local, you’ll come back. If you’re an out of Towner, you’ll be happy with your visit here.

Beautiful historic pub cocktail hour was fantastic. We were able to pick $15 cocktails on a Friday night and then we went into the renovated restaurant which was enormous and we had an entree of muscles and a seafood pizza which was delicious. Sadly there’s no table service in the restaurant so you could be awhile waiting to get a drink. If you have to walk to the bar that’s disappointing when it’s a special night out But We’ve had a great night here and look forward to coming back again. The highlight of this place is the actual pub with this warm ambience of dark timber from a bygone era taking back to the 1860s what a beautiful pub.

A great pub hidden away in the inner suburbs not to far away from the CBD, service was good, food was fantastic with a pretty good wine list, we went in for early dinner and the dining room filled up quickly as soon as we got our mains
Russell D — Google review
Earl of Leicester Hotel is a true schnitzel specialist. I originally thought it was more of a parma spot when visiting Adelaide, but quickly learned the focus here is on massive schnitzels. The 350g version was huge — great value for money and almost a 5/5 on size and satisfaction alone. Some areas were slightly overcooked, which is understandable given its size, but the flavour and texture in most bites were spot on. The two gravies we ordered were perfect for dipping — absolutely necessary with a schnitty this big. The parma schnitzel, however, was a letdown — overdone in parts, missing ham, and just topped with cheese and Napoli sauce. If you’re a schnitzel lover, this is definitely worth checking out — just go in for the schnitzel in its pure form.

Very cool laidback vibe to this hotel. Huge schnitzels, friendly staff and meat tray raffles! What more could you want from a local pub?

We were a table of four for lunch. Meals were served promptly and were well prepared. Staff very friendly and helpful. Table quite small for 4 people but it did make conversation easier as it was busy and quite noisy. Only small car park front and back but you can park on the street. Would recommend this historic pub hidden in the back streets.

Nestled in the heart of Adelaide, the Norwood Hotel stands as a cherished local landmark with its heritage-listed charm. This inviting venue boasts a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying hearty Irish meals and daily specials. Whether you're unwinding with friends over a refreshing beer at Finn McCools Irish Pub or savoring modern Australian dishes alongside beloved pub classics, there's something for everyone here.
My local and my favourite pub. Friendly staff who remember me and always say hi. The food is generally very good and their gravy is the only gravy I’ve like other than my mother’s home-made recipe. Drinks are always good and well poured, and drink prices are low compared to any other pub I’ve been to. Lovely atmosphere with lots of lovely old furniture and decorations indoors. In addition most of the regulars are lovely people too and I’m almost always able to have a chat with someone if i feel like it. I would give more stars if i could as this is a wonderful establishment.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Attended a Gather Round event held in the function room next to the Norwood Hotel, so we chose to eat at the hotel beforehand for convenience. Unfortunately, location is about the only thing it has going for it. The interior is extremely dated—almost like a time capsule from the 80s. Old furniture, worn flooring, tired decor, and even booth graffiti that looks like it’s been there for decades (see photos). Maybe not all dining locations were the same as ours but I can only review from my experience. Ordering was a mess. One person on one register taking all food and drink orders. After each order, they’d leave to make the drinks before serving the next customer. With big groups and long drink orders ahead of us, this made for an unnecessarily long wait. Meanwhile, several bar staff stood around—could’ve easily sorted drinks and delivered them to tables. Completely inefficient. Food was poorly presented, thrown together without care. Plates looked as worn out as the furniture. The staff serving seemed disinterested at best. One of our meals was dropped from height onto the table—more of a thud than a delivery. Can’t recommend it and definitely won’t be returning. If you’re looking for a meal before an event, walk 100 metres in any direction along The Parade—you’ll find far better. The one star is purely for proximity to the function room.

5 if us came for dinner tonight and the food was awful. We usually come here and the food is good but tonight it was greasy, under cooked, rice was gluggy and the meals tasted terrible. Very disappointing and definitely not worth the money. The young female waitress was also really rude and abrupt. We won't be back.

The Elephant British Pub is a traditional English pub with a great happy hour and sports viewing options.
We had a late lunch here (3.30pm) on Tuesday. The venue was understandably quiet at this time and so we had immediate service. We took advantage of the $15 schnitzel offer (schnitzel, salad, chips & sauce). Such a generous serving and we were stuffed! The food was fresh, hot and tasty. Kudos to Nicole at the bar who was very friendly.

I read some of the reviews about the pub before deciding to book and decided to look into it more closely. What drew me to the venue was the price point of the menu which ranges from 16 for a burger to around the forty dollar mark for a variety of meals. I booked a table for 12 in the upstairs function room. I felt that the reviews about the lack of an authentic British pub decor was accurate as there were no pictures on the walls or anything that referenced Britain....not even a picture of the King. 😂 The function room was noisy with other groups there which also detracted from the atmosphere. Slightly negative things aside, what really stood out and what matters most is the service which I was impressed by. I was always greeted with a smile and sure, you have to order full pints downstairs, but the staff were happy to take the drinks upstairs for us. What I was also impressed with was how quickly meals came out, the quality of the food and the portion sizes which were generous. I had the pork roast for $25. The Yorkshire pudding was amazing. So was the rest of the meal. Overall, I would be happy to go to the pub again. Thank you to the staff at The Elephant.

English pub in Adelaide serving an array of English meals. They have a good selection of English/Scottish tap selections including old specked hen and Tennent’s lager as well as Australian taps. The fish and chips were good too. I guess where it missed the mark for me is the atmosphere is not one of an English pub. Spending many years in England I was hoping for that comfy atmosphere that’s not well lit and has a country vibe that you can sit for hours in. This was more modern and polished.

Walked in for lunch - food was really tasty and the pieces of fish were generous on the fish and chips, batter nice and crispy. The music didn't really fit the atmosphere though, and the ginger beer they stock is very small for the size. Good place for food though, and enjoyed it!

We had an ex-workmate's lunch here and chatted and had a drink at various tables before sitting down at our reserved table for lunch. There was a great variety of options on the menu to choose from. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great service and a warm, welcoming pub vibe!

🤩I loved that! it was full when I visited. Well, I think because the happy hour, must’ve been for that. 🥳I liked the atmosphere, the place is very spacious, tables are wide and are spaced between them, although it didn't seem like a British pub to me. However, I had a great time. 🤤Also, the flavor of the dishes was delicious, I loved the mash peas🫶🏻. 🍷🍺As for drinks they have a wide variety of wines, beers and more. ✅If you’re around, must to visit The Elephant British Pub👍🏻.

Clean, modern, UK-vibe pub. Good tap selection of local and imported beers and liquor. Quick, friendly bar service. It's very clean, and this is kind of why I didn't absolutely love it. It's very nice, just missing the homey feeling of a country pub and too clean to be in London. Ha ha. I'll be back

The Gilbert Street Hotel in Adelaide is a vibrant pub offering an eclectic global menu, a spacious beer garden, and a terrace for outdoor enjoyment. Families can relax in the grassed beer garden with ample space for kids to play while high chairs and games like Jenga are available. On Tuesday nights, guests can enjoy soul jazz performances by The Airbenders, featuring talented musicians and free admission.
The Gilbert Street Hotel is a special old-school pub in the city. It does not have a pokies room! By all accounts, this is a craft beer enthusiast’s go-to pub. You can check-in the beer you have tried on some beer app. The vibe on a Friday night is great with a DJ playing music not too loud. On weekends there is a band. They are famous for their Thursday night wings - reservations are required. They have a good selection of food that is well-priced but I recommend the steak and Caesar salad that comes with a 60-degree egg. On Sundays, residents in the neighbourhood get a discount. Their local (ie SA) wines by the glass are well selected. What is there not to love?

Enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Gilbert Street Hotel, sampling the lamb cutlets and the duck with beetroot. Both dishes were very tasty, with generous portions that made for a satisfying meal. The lamb was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection, while the duck was beautifully paired with earthy beetroot, offering a nice balance of flavours. Service was prompt and friendly throughout. The venue itself has a quaint, relaxed atmosphere—ideal for a casual lunch in a charming setting. Well worth a visit.

We ordered the grilled prawns which are fabulous the fried chicken to die for ,the potato Brava’s which was a massive serve which could’ve actually been slightly smaller and would still be happy it Could’ve done with some garnish just to add colour and the fried cauliflower which was probably not the best of what we ate but ruined by the sauce. The house wine was a large glass at $15. We came here on a Friday night. It was quite busy as it should be but we’re able to sit in a quiet section near the kitchen. Watching the kitchen staff… We were pretty happy and certainly would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a great lunch at the Gilbert Street Hotel. The food and table service was excellent. Unfortunately the lady who took our order added an extra meal which we realised when delivered to the table. The waiter was excellent and said ‘ no worries we will take it off the bill’. He then returned to say his manager would not remove it as it was our fault. Instead offered 2 free drinks. This would probably have been the same cost as the meal. Very strange and made a great experience a poor one. We went to the Duke of Brunswick the night before where nothing was too much trouble and the service was excellent.

Food was lower than average in terms of taste, quality, and presentation. Chips were so salty they were almost inedible, the beer batter on the fish was too thick with a big gap between it and the small bit of fish inside. The Bridgewater Inn is a charming tavern that offers hearty pub meals, local wines, and a warm atmosphere. It's the ideal place to enjoy a juicy Bridgey Burger or a generous schnitzel followed by a Sticky Date pudding. The tiered beer garden overlooking Cox Creek provides a picturesque setting for leisurely meals, and it's kid and dog-friendly.
Excellent place for lunch or dinner. Their renovations have finished, and whilst I was worried it might change the casual, country feeling that the pub was known for, they have actually done an excellent job. The outdoor dining is protected well from the elements (including the sun) and offers much more seating. The traditionalists among us, can still brave the elements down lower next to the creek. The food is of an excellent quality and their mid-week daily specials are a refreshing bargain in the ever diminishing world of a cheap pub meal. I came for Schnitzel night - and it was busy, but all meals arrived at our table, for 11, at the same time. They cater well to Gluten Free and Vegetarian dietary needs. Staff are friendly and welcoming and their ordering system, with a priority line for drinks and another line for food works, efficiently and is very quick. Their wine list showcases local.hills heroes and their house wines are more than reasonably priced. This pub suits everyone from families to casual dinner with friends. It is ( until now) one of the hills best kept secrets.

The menu has a good range and there is also a kids menu with many choices. There are lots of areas to sit which is good and there was a lift as well as stairs so it is all accessible. There aren't many disabled parking spots though and despite having two carparks they fill up quickly. There are two areas outside, one is covered with heaters. We were in the Bridgey bar which was very nice with a log fire so it was a good warmth in there. The service was quick and the food was very nice. The prices are a bit on the higher side but it was otherwise really good.

Nestled in the Adelaide Hills, Scenic Hotel is a popular spot known for its sweeping views of Adelaide city and charming outdoor dining space. The historic establishment, dating back to 1869, offers a balcony and rustic garden beds overlooking a cliff. My treasure-like place in Adelaide. I'm so lucky that I can get here within 10 minutes from my home. If someone had discovered this place long ago, before Google Maps existed, it would have been an oasis for them. Sitting on the balcony is great, but sitting inside is just as nice. The menu is interesting, with plenty of options, and it’s perfect to pair with a cold beer or a great wine. I’m not usually a fan of chicken schnitzel, but at the Scenic Hotel, I can enjoy it.

My partner and I drove 40 minutes to have dinner here for date night. We were out on the balcony with a magnificent view at sunset. We ordered the salumi and cheese platter with sour dough, and we each ordered a chicken parmi for our main meal and we cannot fault the food, it was delicious. The service was great and the staff were very friendly. After dinner we also enjoyed a few games of 8 ball in the upstairs pool lounge, and ordered some coffee which was also delicious. We were surprised to find out the 8 ball was free and we found the atmosphere of the restaurant and pool lounge very cosy and inviting. We'll definitely be back! 😊

Great Pub Feed, Lively Atmosphere, and Worth the Walk! The Scenic Hotel delivered a fantastic pub meal experience for our group of friends and kids, easily earning a 5-star rating despite being a bustling weekend! Finding parking was a bit of a challenge due to how busy it was, but we eventually found a spot up the road and enjoyed the 10-minute walk back, which was actually perfect after a satisfying meal. The food was a hit, especially the kangaroo schnitzel – it was absolutely yummy and incredibly juicy! The cheeseburger was decent, and the fries were a solid choice. We also appreciated the good selection of wine and beer, and the staff were consistently friendly even with the crowds. It's worth noting the space got very busy and quite loud, so our kids did get a little restless by the end, but that's typical for a popular pub on a weekend. A huge plus for families is the baby changing table located in the basement toilet, which was very convenient. Just a heads-up: we noticed a bothersome smell from a septic tank on the outside terrace, so we were glad we chose to dine inside. Overall, if you're looking for a lively pub atmosphere with great food (especially that kangaroo schnitzel!) and don't mind a bit of a walk for parking, the Scenic Hotel is a superb choice for a relaxed outing with friends and family. We'd definitely go back!

A great stop for a delicious feed if you’re driving though the Hills. Great food and service! The sun was out so we opted for a seat on the balcony and to take advantage of the views. The menu was full of so many goodies so opted to share a whole lot of plates – Anchovies stuffed with Sicilian Olives, Stracciatella with roasted vegetables, the most Moorish duck liver pate (OMG!) and a chicken schnitzel which was served with shoestring fries and a refreshing slaw. We also tried a couple of wines and loved that there seemed to be lots of local varieties. In fact, we like one so much that our next stop was a short drive to the cellar door to purchase! Downstairs they had a whole lamb on the spit sizzling away and we would be keen to come back another time to participate. The long outdoor seating under the canopy of trees also looked divine and would be a great spot in summer with friends or a private gathering. Highly recommend!

The team here are beautiful. Atmosphere and view is stunning. Warm and cozy feel sitting by the fireplace, just what you need on a cold rainy evening. Topped off with a delicious red curry and a corona. Can’t wait to come back in spring to enjoy the beer garden. Thankyou

Spectacular views, awesome cosy fire and chilled happy staff. Must try the curries! Yellow fish was great , accompanied by soft Roti and rice infused with star anise, cardamom and cinnamon. Very affordable and worth the beautiful short drive from the city 👌

Beautiful views from the balcony. Lovely wines. Food was nice but not super special. My hanger steak was two pieces and a bit fatty. I usually love hanger so bit of a shame. The sauce was unique and interrsting. Good fries.

Very nice restaurant just a few cases from the city. Location is the strength of this place, peaceful and relaxing. I’m curious to come back for a drink on night time, I’m sure the atmosphere is even better during sunset! Menu a bit short but food is delicious!

Hains & Co is a stylish bar located in Adelaide's West End, offering a sophisticated yet laid-back atmosphere. The venue boasts outdoor seating and is open daily from 4pm to 2am, catering to various occasions such as casual drinks, first dates, or late-night gatherings. With a focus on premium gins, whiskey, rum, expertly crafted cocktails, and cigars from Cuba, Nicaragua or the Dominican Republic.
Cracking spot. Incredible selection of drinks and the staff and service was superb. Oli mixed me a Dark and Stormy and then lit it on fire, it was so something else. He then proceeded to give us some great local insight to bars and restaurants in the area. Expert level service. Don’t miss this spot. 👍

Situated in the back streets of Adelaide and can be a little hard to find, on entrance the bar looks fabulous full of quirky ornaments and objects. We came on a Sunday and this was the only bar on our pub crawl that charged a Sunday charge (which I do understand it helps to cover costs, but…). I knew it was a cigar bar, but the smell was overwhelming, so be warned. The cocktail list was great and they were tasty, but there are so many buts for me. There are so many great bars in the back streets and this evening just didn’t make me want to rush back.

Hains&co recently played host to our wedding after party and I cannot recommend them highly enough if you are planning an event in the future (or just want to grab a drink at one of Adelaide’s best bars). From ease of planning through regular email communication, to flexibility with timings and setting up, Marissa made the whole process so easy and stress-free. They were also incredibly generous allowing us to come to the venue earlier for some photos in the upstairs even when they were setting up for another event there. Throughout the evening Marissa, Marcus and the whole team truly made our party feel very welcome, the bar service was quick and all staff so friendly and personable. Thanks again for everything, it was so appreciated!

What an amazing nautical hideaway! Came here for our collective 40th birthday year. The cigars and whisky were awesome. Maddy looked after us, she's a cocktail genius - warm, skilled, and gives absolutely 5-star service. Go see her!

Hains & Co is such a great spot. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a really unique character that makes it stand out from other bars. It feels cosy but still has plenty of energy, and the outdoor seating adds to the charm. The cocktails are absolutely top-notch. You can tell the bartenders really know what they’re doing — every drink I had was balanced, fresh, and beautifully made. The gin and tonic with rosemary was a highlight, simple but done so well. What I really loved was the service. The staff are friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Even when the bar was busy, they still took the time to chat and make sure everything was perfect. That kind of hospitality makes a big difference. Overall, it’s the kind of place you can easily settle into for the night and just enjoy yourself. Great drinks, great people, and a great vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Legends behind the bar were fun and a pleasure to yap to and order from. We convinced them to try on our glasses too - 10/10! Cigars were great too despite the backwards incident…

Yeh nah who ever designed this place is an absolute visionary. Full of interesting accoutrements, there’s lots happening but it’s all a delight to the senses. The lighting has been carefully crafted to resemble a depth of dreamlike states, as if out of the movie Inception, with a bathtub hanging from the ceiling! The combination of elements, colours and themes and all the subtle touches really harmonise the flow of energy. There’s a significant array of cocktails and beverages to choose from and a cabinet full of expensive cigars. Quality comfort seating indoors, it’s the perfect place for a low key rendezvous outside peak hour. Gas heaters and plenty of stools and tables outside, this joint is capable of handling a decent overflow on a busy night, but I’d get in early to secure a booth. Might want to consider making a reservation just to be sure.
Kyle ( — Google review
Scouting the place out for work events/gatherings as it is near some hotels we often use. A pleasant place but paid $50 for a $15 drink and received $15 change ($20 short). The two drinks where I paid the exact amount of $15 I received the correct amount of $0 change. But being charged more than double for the middle drink seemed careless. Not the end of the world (as it wasn’t my money) but it did leave a bad feeling. Personally I don’t care but as most of the business’s clients are internationals who often use cash I would avoid this venue as to not risk potential confrontations. However, if it’s just a small group of locals paying card then it is a very nice place! Would come back personally with a small group of friends but wouldn’t bring groups of clients professionally. Hope that is helpful friends! Cheers.

Great service and meals were out to us super quick. I had the calamari and Summer had the chicken schnitzel. Both meals were great tasting at a good price. We will be back

Went on $10 schnitzel night. Great quality schnittys, salad was great, perfect for spreading over the chips. We had a huge beef schnitty and chicken parmy not as big. Great atmosphere and had a wine tasting next door! Have board games and great beer selection. Also do take away! Just call them.
Matt B — Google review
This is one of my locals and for some reason I don’t love it like I no doubt should. Not sure why. I think on some level the only selling SA sourced everything seems a bit like being told what to do. It’s parochial and rather than being a good thing I feel it fails to make its point. I’ve never eaten here before, my kids have and some friends find it good. As you may be able to see from the photo my schnitzel was on the burnt side, and the peppercorn sauce was not homemade or very nice. Look it’s a very popular spot and apparently the beers are great, but the wine list being limited to SA as it is is too narrow for my tastes.

This was a fantastic 5 star experience! Got together with a group of mates (8 of us) for a catch up and could not have asked for a better place to go! The 'vibe' was like going to an 'old fashioned' pub in regards to the personal service and the quality of the food and drinks. The food specials are great value and their is a great range of drinks. The schnitty's were fantastic, chips superb and the fish and chips was awesome! Nothing was too much trouble and the recent renovation has really lifted the ambiance to a great level. We had such a great night, we are heading back on 'St Patrick's Day' to celebrate Patrick's Birthday!!!

Okay service, very average food. Ordered a chicken schnitty with sauce (for an extra $3). I was with a friend who ordered the calamari which came out super dooper late..... Schnitzel was tiny and sauce was watery. Chips were bearable but I have had way better for the price. I don't think I will be back.

The Port Admiral Hotel is a historic landmark in Port Adelaide, dating back to 1849. It has been impressing patrons with its pub dining and local beers since its reopening in 2017 after a decade of closure. Located at the iconic waterside corner, it offers a unique atmosphere for visitors to enjoy live music and a wide selection of beverages. The venue boasts stunning open-fire barbecue and adapts traditional pub dining to contemporary audiences.
Like it's counterpart, The Duke of Brunswick, the Port Admiral is a welcome paradise for coeliac sufferers and those of us who need to limit our wheat/gluten intake. The food is excellent, the staff are friendly and fun, and the atmosphere is quirky and warm. There are several dining areas to suit small and medium groups; we have dined as groups of 2–8 and always felt comfortable. The drinks on offer are comprehensive and include gluten free options. The kitchen is 100% gluten free. As with most old pubs street parking is limited.

The Port Admiral Hotel seemed to be one of the only places open over the Easter long weekend, and I'm glad it was. Although hearing rumours that the staff are "unfriendly," we decided to head in for lunch. Firstly, the staff were lovely and cheerfully greeted us as we came in. They let us know that there was a 15% surcharge for the holiday period, understandable. We were seated and given menus and an ice cold bottle of water with 2 glasses - not the usual tepid water already sitting on the table. The menu was decent with some old school items. As a starter, the crumbed Camembert with red current jelly and toast went down a treat. We ordered a Caesar Salad with prawns and a doubled up cheeseburger. Both were very good with no complaints and the cheeseburger had that added char grilled flavour. Prices were expensive and with the additional 15% surcharge it made them almost unaffordable, however, this was expected. Recommended

I'm so grateful for places like Port Admiral that are 100% coeliac safe. We had a delicious pub meal without the usual stress of coeliac eating out... probably the best chicken parmi we've ever had full stop!

Love this place since it was taken over by new management. Totally gluten free menu, usual drinks from the bar and great staff. You can sit outside under the veranda or inside downstairs or upstairs. They also have a beer garden. Nice view from the balcony. No lift to the upstairs though so if you want disability friendly ask for downstairs seating. I love the food. Especially knowing I can order anything on the menu being gluten intolerant. Their coffee is also good. Very friendly staff in my experience. I went recently on the day they had a market in and around the pub. Great idea!

A good pub to go to when studying at UniSA west campus. Having eaten there 3 times in the last 6 days I can safely say that the schnitzels are good. Fish and chips had only 1 fillet, wondered if I should’ve got two. What is the norm? The salad was too salty. The dressing on it was weird. Nice atmosphere though, and a good selection of beverages.

Mick O'Shea's Hotel is an iconic Irish-themed pub located in Adelaide's southern suburbs. It offers low-key rooms and a casual dining experience with a great menu. The pub has an enormous lawn and provides entertainment for kids, allowing parents to relax in the picturesque alfresco area. The food is delicious, fresh, and hot, with desserts being a particular highlight. On Wednesday nights, visitors can enjoy above-average pub fare while being entertained by a lively 10+ piece Irish band.
Been a go to for my family since they started kids eat free Monday and Tuesday, Alicia was a great smiling face to greet us at the door even with the stress you could tell they were under and made us feel like her answering our questions about moving our table outside and allergies was of the upmost importance to her. Was good to see through the stress she still made sure that her and the others on the floor were still laughing amongst each other bringing a warm vibe to the venue in comparison to a stressed out overpacked venue.

We came in over the weekend and had a great time. Food was delicious even though it took a while to come to us, which was understandable as it was very busy. Most of the staff were very friendly and were working very hard to keep up with the high demand of customers. The renovations are a great improvement to the pub. My kids loved the playground. I have left 1 star because I wanted to make sure you read my review. My wife and I were served by a lady at the bar (older, blonde, glasses). Then she started yelling across the bar at another staff member. She seemed to be very nice to customers but very rude to other staff. We watched her a few times during our visit and it seemed that she did this several times. All of the staff members that she spoke to quickly lost their smiles which is not ideal in customer service. I am assuming that she is a manager but having worked in hospitality for over a decade, it is true that not everybody has the right personality for management. I imagine this will be followed up and your staff member be retrained in management, if she is to keep her job. I can only assume that there have been several complaints about this already from staff members and customers. Next time I think I will speak to a manager about it but our children were restless and we needed to leave quickly.

Staff and meals are great. My last two visits, and not one staff member can pour a decent pint of Guinness. Such a let down given this is meant to be a staple of any reputable Irish pub. It isn’t beer folks. Perhaps we should be allowed to put our own!

Apparently a new menu has been launched but lots of items were unavailable so that was a shame. The food is cooked nicely but unfortunately overpriced for what it is. $14 for garlic bread is crazy. It is nice big bread but not $14 bread. Corn ribs were good. They were out of chicken wings, sliders and onion rings so a good portion of the starters there unavailable. One person from our party ordered pasta and the server had to come out say they were out of pasta... We were sat in the elevated restaurant, it was cold. Won't be on the regular rotation for the time being.

Came in to give this place one final shot after many months of letdowns last night. As soon as we walked in a beautiful dark haired girl was behind the bar and went out her way to greet us, excellent customer skills, lovely smile. She definitely saved Micks for us. Came in last night 45-60 min wait on food (we waited 51) which we weren’t informed on til AFTER we had ordered on The Pass only for it to be slightly average. However both Alicia and Kyle came around and offered from what we could tell were sincere apologies and offered complimentary beverages/ entrees to make up for it. Had a good laugh with Alicia specifically nice to have a bartender that can give and receive jokes and banter and make the wait feel a little shorter than what it was

Trying out the dinner area on a Friday Night! While it seemed rather busy, we got seen too and seated with a reservation pretty quickly. From your seats you can either order via the app, QR code or go to the desk. We ordered through the app and went through with no issues. The drinks did take a nudge to the staff to get them delivered but once they were it was received rather quickly. Food was not an issue, even offered a free drink due to a long 40minute wait. Garlic bread was a nice crisp bread with a good amount of garlic. The sliders were amazing in taste, good mix of sweet and sour sorta flavour. The bread on the other hand was rock hard which was abit of a pain. The chicken Snitzel I cannot fault. Great flavour and crispy outside. Chips were great and seasoned perfect. The crunchy salad went well with it. The 300g rump was a good feed. While abit undercooked from medium rare it still melted and tasted amazing. Mushroom gravy was flavoured well and everything went well together. Long Island Ice teas were a great cocktail to start with… perfect mix of sour and a stiff drink. We hit up the new beer garden that has opened and was filled with people enjoying themselves.

Had such a wonderful dining experience the other day! I recently visited Alma Tavern. The portions were generous and definitely good value for the price, though I found the taste to be fairly average. The staff were attentive and helpful, which made the experience more enjoyable. The atmosphere is lively and quite noisy, with a classic pub feel — great if you’re after that kind of vibe. Overall, it’s a good spot for a hearty meal and friendly service, especially if you enjoy a busy pub atmosphere.

We had the dumplings and whipped fetta for entrees (my husband particularly loved the homemade forcaccia), they were delightful and we would've been satisfied with these as our meal. We then had the Pork Loin and Marlin, which were cooked perfectly, both were moist ad delicious. Would go back again for the food.

Rocked up to the Alma for a feed and strewth, it’s like someone nicked a bit of heaven and parked it smack bang in Norwood. First up, the chicken wings, skin so crispy you could hear it crack from the other side of the pub. Golden, glistening, hugging the meat tighter than a bogan in a mosh pit at the Gov. Then that rhubarb chilli sauce kicks in, starts all sweet like a Farmers Union iced coffee, then whacks ya like a copper catching you doing a burnout down Cross Road. Prawn linguine rolled out next, fat juicy prawns tangled in pasta like they’d been netted down at Outer Harbor. Sauce was that rich I half expected it to start a bidding war at the Central Market. Had me making those little mmm noises that the oldies at the next table pretended they couldn’t hear. Then the big dog, the scotch fillet. Bloody oath. Thick, tender, dripping with juice, and crowned with spiced butter that melted slower than traffic on South Road. Chips on the side, perfect for mopping up all the steak juice when you reckon no one’s looking. The owners run the joint like pros, it’s got the vibe of a Sunday sesh down the Bay mixed with a Friday night at the footy. Leave here hungry and you need your head read. Next beer’s on you two legends, I’ll be back for it.

Absolutely amazing! Lovely decor, great dining spaces, awesome customer service. They come and take your order at your table! And when they bring the table.water (which is ice cold!) they pour the first glass for you! I ordered a Eggplant parmy and woodfire garlic bread, my friend ordered the 300gm sirloin steak. Meals are absolutely PHENOMENAL. Taste amazing. Garlic bread best ever on this planet. Will Absolutely be returning. Highly recommend. My friend words on the steak- it is to die for!

Last night we booked a table in the restaurant and it was a great meal. The area was table service which meant we didn’t have to line up. The area is nicely styled and the booth seats looked like a great spot for a date night. We had a table by the fire which was a good spot on a cold night. The food tasted great and was a decent serving size. I took half the curry home as I was too full from eating the garlic bread. Definitely recommend and would come back again. The desserts sounded so good I want to try them.

Located in a landmark Federation building, The Stag Public House offers a vibrant atmosphere for social gatherings. This chic spot in the center of Adelaide features an outdoor terrace named Hennessy, serving inventive cocktails and signature drinks like the Honey Trap. The pub is known for its hearty classic pub fare including juicy burgers and tender steaks. Live entertainment, including music every Friday, adds to the lively ambiance.
Nice bar in a good location, with a good beer selection and lovely pub food. But what made it exceptional was the staff. The bartender -Jamie- was talking to us and as we’re traveling through. He’s told us some great beaches and areas to explore and even went out of his way to right a list of local breweries in the area. 👍🏼

Perfect pub. ✅ Pool table ✅ Classic tap beers ✅ Local tap beers ✅ Burger named after pub ✅ Great music ✅ Indoor and outdoor seating Stag burger is the go to choice. Durable bun, saucy, salty crispy bacon, thick patty, melted cheese and a fresh salad including pickles, tomato and raw onion. A wonderful experience that is completed with outstanding fries. Make sure to add dipping sauce and beverage of your choosing. I opted for the "purple yeet juice" very sweet hard lemonade.

Good pub! Chose the standard schnitzel pub fare……actually better than the usual, great crumb, pepper gravy lifted above the norm. The salad while prepared with love was just mixed lettuce. A few bits of vegetable would make it a cracker salad!. Beer included in meal fantastic and thanks!

Food and drinks are expensive, but I think that's pretty par for the course in this area. We had a lovely afternoon though sitting on the balcony. Very comfortable in the lounges.

Had fun with a table full at the quiz night. Used Tutella to test my drinks. Each was safe and it felt good to have that confidence in a busy and loud environment where so much was happening and I couldn't always pay attention to my drink.

The house burger is excellent (I would only add a little more chips). We order another one to share because we like it (2 burgers and a party for two) The happy hour beer is on a very convenient price. The pool table should be placed in another place. Players invade the surrounding tables in order to be able to play

We booked a table for my friends hens a few weeks out for dinner and a few light hearted games. Unfortunately on the day of the hens we got a message saying our reservation time had been cut because they have booked another booking during our time. Some of us got our food at 6:40 and at 6:52 we were told the other table was here early and we needed to leave straight away. All of us had food and drinks and were told to drink our drinks in the doorway as they needed the table. Not only were we kicked out earlier than we were told at 2pm that day the service in general was so disappointing and some of us didn’t even get to finish the food on our table. If we had been told our time had been booked prior to the day we would have absolutely chosen to go somewhere else. I always loved this pubs atmosphere but I’m really disappointed in this whole outcome and felt really rushed out the door and not welcomed at all! It seems like these days the pubs just looking at making money and shipping people in and out in ridiculous time slots. It’s a shame because I would never recommend this place for a dinner service now and they also lost a lot of money because we ended up having absolutely wonderful service at distill(which were so welcoming). If you’re planning on an event/hens here, don’t bother.

We recently held an event at The Stag Public House, Parklands Bar & Balcony, and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The service was outstanding! Nothing was too much to ask, and everything was thoughtfully organised. The whole team was incredibly accommodating and a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. A special mention to Mary, function coordinator, who was fantastic. She was easy to work with in the lead up and ensured the night ran seamlessly during the event. The food was excellent. Delicious, satisfying, and plentiful. The dietary alternatives were great, and the team made sure our guests were well accommodated. Overall, The Stag Public House made our event a great success, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

German restaurant
Beer hall
Hahndorf Inn is a charming German restaurant housed in a historic two-story 1863 hotel with exposed stone walls and a wood-paneled ceiling. The restaurant offers hearty German cuisine, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. With free wifi and outdoor seating available, it's an ideal spot to enjoy traditional German dishes such as pork neck and sausages.
We had been to Hahndorf Village during Good Friday 2025. Beautiful township, but too full of tourists on the day due to Easter holidays and a nightmare in terms of parking space. After 20 mins, we managed to find a street parking and then set off to walk around the village on foot. With a few mins, we realised that whatever we saw of the village and fall colours (which is a big selling point of tourism here) while driving around was the best approach to see the village in the otherwise crowded town on that day. Soon we gave up walking and hit the Hahndorf Inn, which was in my list of place to eat and drink the craft German beers. I ordered the beer paddle to taste the produce of their brewery, got the Fest, Helles, Hefe, Berliner, and Dunkel. The Berliner was a new type of beer I tasted, quite like the raspberry after taste but settled on the Hefe. Ordered the schnitzel, hotdog and fish and chips as mains and affogato dessert. Even though the restaurant was packed to capacity, the food came in fairly quick within 20 mins. The food served had big portions of food and chips, and the price was reasonable (I am from Sydney, everything looks reasonable in comparison!) with an extra surcharge for Easter. The beers tasted divine with the food, so got me an extra 6 pack of hefes to-go. The service staff were busy but were not being impolite of hurrying the customers, had a smile on them showing that they loved the crowd. Overall a great place and def recommended for dine in and the craft German beers they make in the German township of Hahndorf.

Food was great however the service was slow but friendly. The atmosphere was nice but was really looking for a more authentic German feeling to create some ambience with the food. We heard the German music coming from another venue which made us wish we went there :( To be fair though, the restaurant was very nice and clean and if I were the staff there, listening to German music every shift would be like being stuck listening to Christmas carols and it was during winter in the off season so it wasn't terribly busy.

Enjoyed the meal with German vibes. The menu had a wide selection of German specialties including German Bier. 🙂 We ordered The Hahndorf Inn Deluxe to get a taste of a bit of everything. I think it’s a good size to share between four people, with the six of us, we added extra pretzels and a Sausage Board. 🙂 The highlight was the Pork Hock. Crispy skin and tender meat was satisfying. Other meat on the plate was fine, nothing to rave about. 😗 The Sausage board was a bit underwhelming since the sausages were all boiled, they tasted quite bland and boring. 😏 I still recommend this place because of the great vibes and great service. Pork Hock and chargrilled sausages is the way to go. 😌

I was excited to attend here as I like beer especially if brewed locally, and I was looking forward to some German style food. Unfortunately our experience was average at best. The service was poor with staff difficult to get a hold of; at times it looked like they were actively avoiding eye contact whilst doing busy work it was a mission to even get a takeaway container. Worse still, the facilities are poor - I am male and wished to change my child's nappy, only to be informed that the only change table is in the female bathroom - extremely backwards and restrictive - and it appears there was no disabled bathroom. The food came out pretty quickly and was good, with huge portion sizes meaning we filled up and had leftovers. The pork was quite good with good crackling. I'd like to return but perhaps I'll attend a different venue in Hahndorf next time.

The food is tasty and quite enjoyable. However, the dining experience could be improved: the plates were oily, and at lunchtime there was no staff to greet or guide guests, so you had to find a seat yourself. Many tables were left uncleared after previous customers, and the suitable seats that remained still had water on them. Drinking water and cups also needed to be taken by the customers themselves. Overall, the dishes are worth recommending, but with more attention to service and cleanliness, the experience could be much better.

Had a lovely dinner with friends and we were tucked away in a little nook that made it feel like we had our own private space. It was pretty quiet when we arrived and didn't get very full but the other side was busy. The pretzels were absolute perfection. I think we could have eaten them all night. My schnitzel was huge and the mushroom sauce was delicious. The staff were lovely and helpful and we had a fantastic time.

Took the bus out here while on holiday and found this place for lunch. The Lion Hotel, a historic Victorian brewery transformed into a vibrant pub, is a popular spot in North Adelaide. Originally known for its crafted beer, the venue now offers modern Australian cuisine and seamlessly blends contemporary architecture with its heritage. The newly redesigned Garden Bar provides a bright and fresh oasis for casual drinks or meals. Visitors can enjoy dishes like the Aussie Angus Sirloin with bacon jam and polenta chips.
The Lion Hotel is an Adelaide institution that never fails to deliver, and on this night it didn’t disappoint. The scotch fillet steak was cooked to perfection, served over a smooth bed of potato mash that complemented it beautifully. The chicken schnitzel was also spot on crispy, tender, and full of flavour. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was exactly what you’d expect from this much-loved pub: lively, welcoming, and full of character. A true Adelaide favourite that continues to impress.

End of year, work dinner. There were only 4 of us. We had a table in the bistro. It was a hot day and it was uncomfortably hot in there. Possibly just where our table was right in a corner, but it was really sticky. We ordered entrees to share, they were delicious but unfortunately although we were far from finished our mains arrived. That had us met with that awkward moment where the servers are like, my hands are full, can you make room in a table that literally has no room. So despite the fact we were still eating, we had to stack plates and move food from one plate to another to allow space to put down the next course. Perhaps for future reference, order your entrees and have them and then order your mains. After dinner, we went and sat outside, which was cooler and really nice next to the leafy trees. It's not the establishments fault it was so hot, but definitely something to move the air around inside would be great. On the food, it was yummy, the potato cakes were light and not oily. The trio of cheese dip was served with delicious garlic bread. If you get the warm nuts, it's a small serve. Smitzels were good-sized and the coating delicious.

Overall this was a very nice place to visit. Lots of space to pick from, priced reasonably and a couple of fire places for a bit of heat and ambience. Staff are friendly and the food was well prepared and presented. We have two large breakfasts and two coffees and it cost us $68, which in Adelaide is pretty fairly priced. I can happily recommend this place for a breakfast..

This was my first time eating here and I was truly impressed. We had the Curry of the Day which was a Thai Beef Curry, the Curry base was fantastic and the beef was lovely and tender. Warm Chicken Salad was amazing and the chicken was so tender and flavoursome. The cheese dish was lovely and the Bread and Chicken Platter was so delicious as well. Espresso Martini was lovely as well and had a nice strength to it. Very impressed and would go back again.

The Old Lion is an absolute gem in North Adelaide elegant dining in a beautifully refined setting with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food was superb, and the overall vibe made it a perfect spot for a relaxed yet classy night out. A special shout-out to Matthew, the restaurant manager he was amazing! His great sense of humour and genuine care for guests truly elevated the whole experience. It’s rare to find that perfect mix of professionalism and personality, but Matthew nailed it. Highly recommend The Old Lion for anyone looking for exceptional food, great service, and an atmosphere that feels both elegant and comfortable.

Restaurant
The Original Coopers Alehouse is a lively and unpretentious venue located on the corner of Grand Junction and Main North Road. Despite being new to the beer garden scene, it has quickly gained popularity due to its spacious outdoor area and old pub charm. The venue offers a wide range of Coopers on tap and specializes in serving massive schnitzels.
A Hidden Gem in Adelaide – The Original Cooper's Alehouse! What a fantastic little pub! The Original Cooper's Alehouse offers a warm, welcoming vibe with an atmosphere that's always buzzing but never overwhelming. The service here is absolutely impeccable — every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make us feel right at home. The food is just as impressive as the service. We tried the steaks and ribs, and both were cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The portion sizes are seriously generous, especially the Parmi — it's next level! If you’re hungry, this is the place to be. All in all, a great spot for a relaxed meal or drinks with friends. Highly recommend!

The Original Coopers Alehouse in Adelaide is a wonderful bar and restaurant. I visited the place two nights in a row to sample the range of Coopers ales and the delights of the restaurant menu. The bar plays sports … or cricket, depending on the day you visit. I watched a cricket game for almost an hour. I want sure if time had stood still or if I had somehow slipped into a bizarre sports version of Groundhog Day where the same thing happened over and over again. I was told the game was very exciting. The bar staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and even happy to offer a sample of the beer if one wasn’t able to make a decision. The restaurant has weekday specials at very reasonable prices from Monday night T-bone steak to Thursday night Schnitzel. The Wednesday pizza was excellent and cooked fresh from the traditional pizza oven. We decided to be rebellious and have steak on Thursday. Go to the Coopers Alehouse, order a T-bone steak and have a Coopers aged, be a rebel, you won’t regret it.

This local pub is a beautiful old brick historic building with great ambience and food. I’m gluten free (coeliac) and they had heaps of options - even a gluten free schnitzel/parmi! Also had cute fairy lights and many different nooks and sections in the venue.

Still trying to figure out what I paid for. The logo? The rent? Definitely not the food. Stopped in for a casual solo feed and a drink. Kept it simple, just a beer, some dumplings, and a chicken parmi. What could possibly go wrong? $73, that’s what. $73 for a new benchmark in a disappointment. Let’s start with the good: - The bar staff were great: friendly, conversational, made me feel welcome. That’s one star. - The second star goes to the building for holding itself together. Now, the food. After ordering, I wasn’t told anything. No wait time, no heads-up, just a silent hope that someone, somewhere, was doing something with a chicken breast and some dumplings. Time passed. Beers were sipped. Time passed (again). 20 minutes later, I went up to ask what was happening, and like magic, the dumplings appeared. 35 minutes after that, my parmi arrived, which leads me to believe that it had either been forgotten entirely or they were waiting for divine intervention to cook it. Now, for $39, you expect the parmi to at least try. You want sauce with personality, a crumb that crunches, something resembling flavor. Instead, I got a flat, joyless slab, dumped next to the saddest pile of salad I’ve ever seen. No dressing. No seasoning. Not even olive oil. Just wilted leaves and dry grated carrot. Sort of resembled the top layer of my green bin the day before it goes out. The dumplings? Fine. Nothing more, nothing less. I’ve had worse meals but not at this price point, and certainly not after waiting nearly an hour. This wasn’t lunch. It was a $73 reminder that sometimes, it’s better to just go home and eat cereal. Would I come back? Maybe for a drink. But I’d eat beforehand and completely reject any hopes of a decent feed.

The original Coopers Alehouse in Adelaide remains an absolute must for both business and social travellers alike. Located just on the outskirts of the city, the venue has long been an integral part of Adelaide’s vibrant social scene. I personally make a point of visiting whenever I’m in town — the food never disappoints. As usual, I went for the steak option, cooked beautifully and full of flavour, followed by an outstanding espresso martini to cap off the night. For the beer enthusiast, the Alehouse also offers one of the best on-tap selections in Adelaide, showcasing Coopers’ heritage and a variety of local craft favourites. Guests can choose to sit in the bustling front bar, which often features lively social events such as trivia nights, or enjoy the well-laid-out space with big-screen TVs playing live sport. For a quieter experience, I prefer heading toward the rear dining area, where the ambience is more relaxed — perfect for a proper meal and conversation. The menu, while grounded in classic pub fare, sits a notch above most and consistently delivers excellent quality. The schnitzel range keeps families and younger diners well fed, while the steak menu remains the clear standout for anyone who enjoys a great cut straight from the grill. Whether you’re stopping in for a social drink, a casual meal, or a hearty dinner with friends, Coopers Alehouse continues to deliver on all fronts. A genuine Adelaide institution — and one that’s well worth a visit. Traveller’s Tip: Trivia nights can be lively (and occasionally a little rowdy). If you’re after a quieter dining experience, consider visiting on an alternative evening.

The British Hotel in Adelaide is a charming and atmospheric pub located in North Adelaide. It offers a homey feel with an enclosed redbrick courtyard where visitors can cook their own steak on the barbecue. The pub provides good vibes, delicious food, friendly service, and a decorative space for patrons to enjoy.
We held a birthday party upstairs at The British in September and it couldn't have been better. The team were friendly and helpful, the food platters arranged were perfect and Jack at the bar kept us updated on our bar tab throughout the day/night. The team let us decorate the two rooms and bring along our own birthday cake and it just felt kind of like the good old days of having an event at a pub. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone was chilled out and our guests had a fantastic time. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Their bangers and mash are a testament to classic British cuisine—perfectly seasoned sausages atop creamy mashed potatoes, all smothered in a rich, savory gravy. The Guinness pie is another standout, featuring tender chunks of beef in a hearty Guinness-infused gravy encased in a flaky, golden pastry. For those craving the quintessential British dish, the fish and chips do not disappoint: crisp, golden batter envelops tender fish. The crowning glory is undoubtedly the sticky date pudding. This dessert is a revelation, boasting a moist, flavorful cake soaked in a luscious toffee sauce, served with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. It’s a sweet finish that leaves a lasting impression, and many patrons declare it the best they’ve ever No British pub experience is complete without a good pint, The Guinness stout on tap is perfectly poured, offering a smooth, creamy head and the robust flavor that Guinness lovers cherish. Whether you’re sipping it alongside your meal or enjoying it on its own, it’s a delight. Whether you’re there for the hearty pub food, the excellent selection of beers, or the cozy lodging, you’re sure to have an experience that’s both memorable and satisfying. Don’t miss out on their sticky date pudding—it’s truly the best!

Enjoyed the Shared Platter for lunch, which included an excellent variety of a tasty selection of their extensive menu, along with a few glasses of wine from an appropriate & average priced list. Inglewood Inn is a well-known and popular pub located in Adelaide Hills. It underwent extensive renovations in recent years to combine the best of old with modern conveniences and expansive views of the Para River and rolling hills. The menu offers something different than your average 'pub', with wine and gin bar options available after you dine.
Honestly we spend a lot of time eating out. From when we walked in we were greeted with smiles and service throughout was very good, friendly, attentive and down to earth. We had 2 starters, main and side. All was delicious and really well put together. Also it was the best chicken schnitzel I have had in a long time, juicy and crumb was amazing. The inn is also really beautiful. The main restaurant has great views and is welcoming (note: the acoustics are great, can actually talk). There is also a gorgeous balcony, outdoor bar area, large room for larger gatherings and indoor cosy bar. The Inglewood also does weddings etc where what i sneaky beaked, looks amazing! Setting is perfect. I highly recommend this place. Thank you.

Calling yourself the “best pub in Adelaide” doesn’t actually make you the best pub in Adelaide! What a misnomer! We came in for some food and a drink on a Wednesday night. The bistro area was dated and depressing, and so was the food! We ordered beef schnitzels and they were grey and unappetising. (The chips were delicious though.) The nearby men’s toilet was feral and could be smelled from the main bar area.

Most restaurants can’t get that right. Steak was perfect. I’d give six stars if I could. Great pub menu with something for everyone.

A great "pub" , well presented and great service when we visited. The parma was excellent. Beer was cold, and a great selection of other beverages on offer. A worthwhile visit.

Popped in for a lovely Guinness, unfortunately only stayed for the one as it was not quite up to par, poured from a standard tap (no push to top up) and head was much bigger than standard. Tasted thin too, not a full blooded Guinness taste. Other than that, the place is warm and comfortable, love the wood fire aroma in the lounge. Didn’t have a meal so I cannot comment on the food.

We had a really nice corner table to sit at with couches. Had a family lunch here celebrating my birthday and it was fairly quiet too which was great. Garlic bread and the vegetable spring rolls were really tasty. Beef schnitzel was fairly tough to cut and hard to chew. I loved the sauce that came with the Haloumi but I wasn’t a fan of the way it was cooked-seemed like they’d been deep fried. Service was fairly fast.

Nestled in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, The Bridgewater Mill is a charming B&B housed in beautifully restored 19th-century cottages. This delightful destination features a refined eatery that serves an enticing array of global cuisine, making it perfect for food lovers. Guests can enjoy their meals on the newly expanded deck surrounded by lush gardens, where the gentle sound of a paddlewheel adds to the enchanting atmosphere.
Super amazing experience. Venue is just incredible. Some really great history. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food, the flavors and the wine list.. we were very impressed. The menu was very hard to choose from as everything sounded delicious. We ended up with 12 dishes. Everything had so much flavour. Nearly a little too much in some cases and needed d as one bread or rice to cleanse the palette. We enjoyed our lunch and will be back again soon.

Had a very lovely afternoon at here. The food and service was really spot on. The king prawn was cooked professionally and very tasty. No need to mention that the good vibe are also very enjoyable. Highly recommended and definitely will come back.

We recently had lunch at Bridgewater Mill for my youngest son’s birthday. My other son has multiple severe allergies and the Chefs were fantastic at adapting his meals where necessary to suit his requirements. We had the feed me menu and honestly had so much food we couldn’t eat it all (I haven’t included photos of all dishes as I was too excited to eat and forgot to take a couple). The food was just delicious and the venue is stunning. We sat outside on a lovely autumn day and took In the stunning scenery. The service was fantastic and we couldn’t fault the wait staff. Definitely recommend!

A beautiful spot with amazing ambience for a Sunday afternoon meal and drinks. Really tranquil and peaceful. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive without being too over-bearing. Wonderful. @kirbystaltari

We did the 4 course Chef Selection. The food was very tasty and well presented. To be honest, presentation was better than the taste, but the uniqueness of flavours made up for it. Overall, very filling and happy. Also recommend the 98 Degrees sunrise gin (distilled in Adelaide), and have a wander around the surroundings before hand.

We had a fantastic Sunday celebrating a friend’s birthday over lunch. When we were first seated, the owner came over to greet us and pass on his best regards. The service was attentive and friendly with great recommendations for food and accompanying wine. Lovely lunch in a warm and cosy sunroom attached to the main building

I was attracted by the friendliness of the staff when I first stepped into the restaurant. The decoration of the place is unique and cosy. It is a wonderful place to dine and its suitable for family and friends and in any occasions. There are plenty of tables inside and outside the restaurant. Love the indoor ambience as well as the outdoor setting. Food is awesome! Love the pork belly, the duck tori as well as the kimchi salad. Met with the Chief Eating Officer (CEO), Greg Hobby, no words can describe how hospitality he is with his guests. Definitely return with friends and highly recommend this place.

The food experience was one of the best we had in the Adelaide Hills region, the only downfall was we finished our food so fast and we needed more!! Overall the customer service, ambiance and food were amazing and we will definitely be coming back!

The Aldgate Pump Hotel, a charming gem nestled in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, is quickly becoming a must-visit destination for both locals and travelers alike. This historic pub has roots as a recharge station for bullock drivers and colonists, making it an ideal pit stop today. With its family-friendly atmosphere featuring an outdoor play area and a delightful kids' menu that includes unique offerings like Steak on the Hot Rock, it's perfect for families.
Great meal, attentive staff, quick service and cosy room. We were first customers of the day so very quiet but filling up as we left. Excellent value and portions were generous and served piping hot

Chilled lunch in the back garden. Atmosphere a bit drab, could do w some watering and sprucing up. Food ordered Hot Rock Rump $35 + $5 red jus... Steak was delicious, soft n tender, cute little salad was good. We shared half dozen oysters, asked for 3 natural and 3 Kirkpatrick, they said they couldn't do that, had to have 6 kilpatrick, weird. Wine list good. Staff ok, 1 lovely girl asked how our food was. I'll go again just a bit funny they couldn't do half half oysters. 🤔
Annebann — Google review
I don't think I've ever written a negative review for an establishement before but there's always a first time. The atmosphere and service at the Aldgate Pump were very good but the food not so much. I ordered a steak at a cost of $50 (not an unreasonable price in today's prices). I usually like my steak medium rare but usually order them rare in a hotel/restaurant and they often tend to be overcooked, as it was this time, but considerably more. I considered the steak I received to be medium to medium/well done - the three other people all agreed it was well-overcooked and I Googled some steak doneness charts when I got home to confirm my opinion. I asked the waitress if I could have another one - something which I don't think I've ever done before. She obliged and took it back to the kitchen. Shortly after the front-of-house lady came to our table and asked if I would like something else instead (at no charge), which I didn't and asked for another steak, just less well done. She was quite insistent that I should have a different meal but I stuck to my guns. Shortly after I received another steak, with the same sides as my original steak (they were cold and soggy) but this steak was virtually uncooked. It had no crust whatsoever - just being ever so slightly browned on the outside and cold in the centre (and I mean fridge-cold - not just room temperature). Both steaks - the original overcooked one and the uncooked one - had quite a bit of sinew, making them difficult to cut and, I assume, to eat (I don't know because I only had a mouthful of each). Needless to say I didn't eat it but we weren't offer a refund and the waitress said nothing when she collected my uneaten meal from the table. I've also attached a photo of my wife's meal. Believe it or not this is a piece of pork belly that has been charred beyond recognition. I'm well aware of the taste benefits of caramelisation but seriously!
David G — Google review
While the decor is rustic when contrasted to other like venues in the hills, the food definitely maelde up for it. Our dishes were absolutely gigantic, especially the chicken Schnitzel, which was a Thursday special for $18! The chef's special Osso Bucco was delightfully tender, falling off the bone, with a well-balanced sauce. I'll definitely reorder this special. Front of house were friendly and courteous, so we'll definitely return.

I visited the Aldgate Pump Hotel with my family for lunch on a Sunday and we had a great time. The service was friendly and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the steak, the schnitzel, kids cheese (no chips included) and the dim sims for starters and we were all satisfied with our choices. The portions were generous and the presentation was appealing. The only downside was that the food came out at different times, so some of us had to wait while others started eating. The pub itself has a lot of character and charm. The atmosphere was lively and relaxed, with no loud music or noise. The pub also has a large beer garden and a playground for the kids, which was a nice touch. However, the playground looked a bit old and worn out, and could use some upgrading. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at the Aldgate Pump Hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a family-friendly pub in the Adelaide Hills. It has a great menu, a great service, and a great location. It is definitely worth a visit.

Visited the Aldgate Pump Hotel today for the first time. What a lovely pump! Sat next to the warm and inviting fireplace today and ordered the Sweet & Sour Pork from the Chefs special menu. More like a Sweet & Sour Pulled Pork... Simply delightful. Owner behind the bar was very friendly. Great place for a winter meal and some drinks by the fire. Visited again tonight... sitting in front of their lovely fireplace. Good kid options, mussels were also spot on

Clever Little Tailor is a cozy bar with a warm ambiance, featuring high ceilings and a mezzanine. The bar's design is inspired by the German fairy tale, with meticulous attention to detail evident in its chic white wood-panelled bar, circular caramel leather booths, nautical light pendants, and stone feature walls. The front windows open onto the street, creating an inviting atmosphere for alfresco drinks. The bar offers a variety of cocktails and light bites for guests to enjoy.
Cool little bar in the popular Peel Street. Choose your times wisely as it gets quite busy during peak beverage hours 😉 small offering of food too Great range of alcoholic drinks to choose from, something to suit all taste buds 🍻🥃🍷🍸🍾

Such a relaxing and friendly atmosphere, always an enjoyable visit after work on a Friday. Knowledgeable staff, great food and wine selection.

Last night, I visited a truly stunning bar with one of my closest friends. The atmosphere was calm, with only a few patrons around. As we admired the space, my friend asked some thoughtful questions about the bar’s origins, and we were genuinely enjoying the ambiance. While capturing a short video of ourselves to remember the moment, one of the bar staff abruptly interjected with, “Are you filming us?”—in a tone that felt unnecessarily hostile. Throughout our time there, the staff and management displayed a surprising lack of warmth and professionalism, which stood in stark contrast to the elegance of the venue. It was a reminder that true hospitality goes far beyond aesthetics. I will lnot be returning to this venue!

I have just visited Clever Little Tailor. It’s a funky little bar and I love the decor, wine and snacks. When we walked in, we were surprised that we could get a table on a Friday night. Found one and sat down. The Sicilian olives were to die for, seriously good and the wine choices also very good. The one drawback for me, and a deal breaker really, is the smell. Such a strong incense / scented candle smell in the air, it really overtook the vibe of the bar for me - unscented candles and this place would be an absolute winner.

Nice quiet bar with a touch of class tucked away on Peel St. Plenty of spirits and choice of beers on tap. Service was friendly, with the 2 female bartenders were attentive to table service with regular top ups of water. We ordered an old fashioned and a boilermaker, and ended up staying for 3 rounds of it. Will be back again!

Went for dinner with a friend. They have Happy Hour between 5-6 pm which we were unaware of and happy to indulge in. The food was good but it was very busy for a Thursday night and the tables were very low which meant you needed to bend down to them. It was strange they were a non standard height. I ended up with a show back from having to lean forward to hear my friends and to eat. Otherwise it had a good menu and the food was great.

The fried chicken for entree was the worst we’ve ever had. You’re lucky to find chicken at all, it was all batter and had a very obvious taste of cinnamon which was just odd. We couldn’t even finish it sharing it between 2. Fair induction was staff who held a 3 hour meeting saying “no the fried chicken is all batter, get mine grilled”. I had the tofu bowl for main, it was lovely however the portion was tiny for $28. Beef burger tasty as an entree. We were lucky enough to have the serenity of the area broken up by a teams meeting by staff in the main eating area. Really hope you get that Speedway collab up and running Donna. No actual meeting rooms in the whole building? Bar staff lovely. Super friendly and nothing was a problem.

A proper local pub with heart. The Cremorne nails the balance: cold pints, honest food, and a beer garden that feels like your mate’s backyard. Schnitzels are golden and massive, the $18 parmy deal is a steal, and the staff greet you like a regular from day one. Gets lively on weekends, but never too rowdy. Perfect for a lazy Sunday session or a quick feed after work.
Raptis R — Google review
It's a beautiful hotel, with plenty of parking available. There's a quieter indoor dining area and a lively bar area. Service and food is good, with a good range of vegan and vegetarian options. Surprisingly for a pub, there was quite limited gluten free options so if that applies to you, it's worth checking.

Had dinner here with a big group. The dining area was noisy and tables were sticky and hadn't been wiped down. Food was good. Bar staff were good. There was a mix up with 1 meal and it was sorted reasonably quickly. Although the diner would have accepted wrong meal if asked. Pick your area to eat as there seemed to be a few options.

Went here for dinner on Sunday night, overall an average experience. Not somewhere I would travel to go but if you’re in the area not a bad choice. The garlic bread was tasty, flavourful and crunchy. The chicken Schnitzel had a nice crunch however was pretty average, chips were good if you can tolerate enough salt to kill a family of 7 (i can 💪). Service was also average, with some customer service unable to fault, unfortunately there were some that we felt were inattentive and visibly didn’t want to be there. I walked in and was absolutely freezing. Closed a window near our table however due to it being in a busy area, there were lots of ambos and it was very loud and the most sensory friendly environment for my folks who are sensitive to loud noises.

Saturday lunch Visited the Parkside hotel for the first time in Saturday. Nice venue located on the eastern fringe of the city. The venue has a number of sections from outdoor eating, and more private areas, including a small outdoor playground. The outdoor playground provided enough entertainment for the adults to eat in peace and still view the kids playing. Menu is as extensive offering the usual pub classics to a few more exotic dishes. They also have a good kids menu to choose from. We were a group of 11, and ordered bruschetta, garlic bread and calamari to share. Bruschetta had a nice glaze but not overpowering and calamari were tender and well seasoned - both standouts. Kids meals followed soon after - fish and chips were the go, and these were cooked well and looks inviting. Kids meals included ice cream which always goes down well. Adults choose the burger, steak sandwich, steak, and asian style chicken salad. Most meals were good, steak sandwich for me was very good, flavours were spot on and really enjoyed it. Chicken salad needed a little more punch from the dressing, and didn’t have enough chicken. Staff were accommodating due to the last minute booking. Food arrived quickly and dishes were presented well. Overall a good experience and will be back.

Food is nice but the ordering experience is terrible. Heres the ways you can order; - order at bar - pay with app via table qr code - app with app via a different table qr code - get a code from the app then order at bar because the app doesn't let you customise Surcharges vary depending on method as does total cost because deals change between the various methods. Again, the food is fine but the bloated payment options just make me feel like no matter what I do I'm getting ripped off.
Kieran N — Google review
Beautifully renovated dining room looking out towards an enclosed grapevined courtyard. We ordered the porterhouse with Charred broccoli and roast potatoes with accompanying salads including broccoli and fennel salad and a green salad . The steak was beautifully charred and had very little fat which you would normally cut off. It was just a top cut of meat. Everything was perfectly done. I have revisited the review to add that it’s probably the best cut of porterhouse we’ve had in an Adelaide pub. Can we reiterate it again? The steak was awesome and as you can see, I’ve done a lot of reviews.. Then to top it off a raspberry the chocolate cake delicious.
John M — Google review
Very average food for the price - there was no Nuoc Cham dressing on the Asian salad (as stated on menu) One order was incorrectly delivered because no orders were written down. No pepper and salt on the table . Can’t complain about the service as there wasn’t any. Plates not cleared from table after meal hence no offer of dessert or coffee or further drinks. Dining room wasn’t full. We asked for bill and complained about the above so waiter said he’d tell management. He came back and offered us something complementary - there were 4 of us so we asked for 2 sundae desserts which didn’t arrive after 30 minutes so we then left and got stopped and asked by the same waiter who took the payment, how did we want to pay tonight and when I said you had already taken my payment he apologized and said it’s been a crazy night

A rare trip to Adelaide afforded a chance to lunch at a favourite pub, The Arab Steed. Always a great meal and busy lunchtime atmosphere. The White family are legends in Hutt St. Yesterday was no exception. Two Roast Beef’s. (There were two if us). The vegetables were beautifully fresh and cooked just right. The beef was tender and the plate wasn’t cold so the food retained its heat for a good time. Washed it down with a larger glass of house Shiraz and thoroughly enjoyed our time there as ever. Caught up with ‘the boss’ who was as genial and welcoming as ever. Best lunch place in the city for me.

Always enjoy the Steed however the crab pasta today was decidedly lacking in crab meat. I could barely taste the seafood, which was a great shame. The pasta though, was cooked to perfection. The Zema wine was lovely though. Overall, just a pass.

Very friendly and helpful staff, plenty of room out side for us and this dog's to share a platter. Regular favorite spot of ours. Updated June '25 ------------------------- Dropped in for lunch again today with the three dogs in tow. I had the best chicken snitzel I have had in years, the salad dressing was to die for, the mushroom sauce was excellent, fabulous meal. Michelle had the baramundi and though it was excellent, best vegetables she has had eating out, "they even made the cabbage taste nice". Added to this, very friendly service probably helped out because waiter also had Papillon dogs.

NOLA Adelaide is a retro bar located just outside of the CBD, offering an extensive whisky and beer menu alongside Cajun and Creole cuisine. The restaurant's design exudes a cool retro vibe reminiscent of New Orleans and Louisiana, with plush leather seats, neon signs, and charming brickwork. Live music performances on Wednesdays and Thursdays add to the jazzy ambiance. The menu features traditional Louisiana sandwiches called poboys filled with pulled pork or smoked brisket.
The perfect place to enjoy with work colleagues, friends or family. I also love coming here by myself, sitting in a booth and writing. The atmosphere is always on point. Whether you want to chat, listen to some jazz playing in the background or want to hear some live music performed by local artists later in the week or on weekends. The food is phenomenal. New Orleans-inspired, it covers everything from Po Boys to salads, jambalaya to shared snacks. I personally would suggest that you try the fried chicken. It was voted BEST IN THE CITY by Seedoeatreview for three years in a row after some extensive research. Craft beers, whisky’s from all over the globe and delicious cocktails can also be found here. We placed an order and it took roughly an hour, though it all came out at once. The chicken was crispy and flavoursome. It paired nicely with the sauce. The Mac and cheese were great, cheesy and rich. The cornbread was too dry for our taste and was big in portion! We also ordered the smoked brisket po boy to share and that was very filling. The brisket was soft to chew and saucy, can get messy to eat but that’s when you know it’s a good sandwich! We overall enjoyed our experience but the food was so long and not outstanding enough to justify the wait time.

Lovely little bar in a beautiful laneway in Adelaide. The bar tender went through the beers on tap, that probably change, and let us test a few. The corn bread was delicious, and the gumbo was good. The house chicken was ordinary and greasy.

I really wanted to like Nola Bar, but unfortunately, it missed the mark on multiple fronts. The music was very loud and way too much for a place that’s clearly set up for dining and conversation rather than dancing or partying. It made it nearly impossible to talk without shouting, which was frustrating. Service and attention to detail were also disappointing. We ordered the 6-piece fried chicken but only received 4 pieces. Later, we ordered the beignet donuts which were supposed to come with a butterscotch dipping sauce, but instead we were served GARLIC AIOLI. Sweet donuts and garlic? It felt like a careless mistake and pretty much ruined the dessert and the taste of garlic sauce is still lingering 12 hours later. Between the overwhelming noise, and incorrect orders this isn’t a place I’ll be returning to. There are too many better spots in the area to spend time and money.

NOLA, you're on notice. NOLA has become a regular of my partner and I over the past few months. As a new Orleans inspired bar it has been great to be able to have a few drinks, great food and be able to listen to blues music in a great atmosphere. That was until this last Friday night where we trapsed down for the usual, beer, cocktails and food. All was well, except for the music, which was not at all blues, and not at all new Orleans inspired, more akin to some nightclub with driving beats and inaudible anything else. We politely asked for a bit of a change up of the music, which was greeted with a mix of "no problem" and "it's close to blues" (it was not). Kindly the music did change, for about 2 songs before the music reverted back to the non-blues at an increased level of hostility. All the while, getting a bit of stink eye from a couple of staff member. This experience and the of having to clear the table of the previous patrons empties soured things a lot for us. The food was great, the service was mostly great apart from the stink eye, and the drinks excellent. I just hope it goes back to being a more blues / new Orleans inspired soundtrack as it had been. Will give it one last chance before we seek a new favourite.

Treated myself to one of the creative cocktails - excellent! - and the really good, vegan Tater Tots, with garlic aioli. There’s a good selection of craft beers too.

Best craft beer place in Adelaide. Terrific atmosphere w/excellent music, cool decor, and very friendly staff. Haven't tried the food but looks delicious and the fried chicken won awards!

We were looking for a burger/pub to have a quick dinner and stumbled across Nola. The vibe was great, gives great bar/pub feels without it being like an old pub. The interior is pretty interesting to take in. The food was of good quality. Very tasty that was for sure. Do recommend trying one of their signature burgers. There’s also heaps of different beers to try. See what’s trending on their wall. I recommend stopping in, even just for a beer to enjoy this place.

This restaurant is known for its natural wines and fresh, locally-sourced food. The chefs put a lot of emphasis on fresh produce and herbs, which makes for a flavorful experience. The decor is simple but inviting, with wooden tables and floorboards.
What a lovey venue. It was a perfect 27 degrees so we had a large table for two outside at the front of the restaurant. Service was prompt and each meal was uniquely presented along with an explanation of what it was and where it was sourced from, local and organic. The food was uniquely presented and at first portion sizes seemed small, that was not to be, we were very happy with the sizes. The flavours on each of the items were incredible. Will be back.

Had a really fantastic lunch here over the weekend! They have an amazing selection of tasty natural wines and the food was amazing! The chefs definitely know what they’re doing when it comes to super fresh and tasty creations! The front of house staff are also super welcoming and knowledgeable. Will definitely head here any time we are in Adelaide.

#2 Recently returned to find that they are still producing amazing plates of food, using only the freshest local ingredients. One noticeable improvement was the size of the dishes. We partook in Chefs feed me menu and left with incredibly satisfied belly's. Will be back soon. #1 There is so much to love about this place... First let me say that if most restaurants followed the same food philosophy as these guys the world would be a much better place haha. Today's savvy diners are ever more conscious about where their food comes from and eateries are being held accountable to a sustainable "waste not want not" culture. Summertown Aristologist captures and exemplifies the essence of "seasonal" farm-to-table eating, with a green thumb approach to growing all produce at their local veggie patch in Basket Range; and their effort to ensure each component presented on a plate is made in-house further highlights their chefs strive for excellence. Add to this a wine list that is geared around local organic vino and the picture is complete. With "feed me" menus on trend, the recent decision to follow suit at the start of 2020 makes perfect sense. Patrons can roll up, sit back and relax knowing the worry of deciding what to order is in capable hands. Sarah & Matilda ran the front of house like clockwork, whislt the communal style seating brought a welcomed, 'get to know your neighbour' vibe to the experience. The one and only criticism I have (and it pains me to say it), would be that the portion sizes for wk169's menu where a little on the smaller side for two people to share, but maybe that's because selfishly I just wanted more.

Hidden gem in Adelaide Hills. Customer service is good, staff seem very passionate about the food and natural wine they serve. Lovely ambience and delicious food! The eagle ray, peppers and pippies were the best! Would certainly recommend!

A quirky and ever-changing menu with excellent execution. A great place to take friends and share all the plates. Good tapas style food. A definite stop for crazy foodies like me! The wine list is also unashamedly natural and we loved it!

Fantastic selection of interesting, creative and quality dishes. They catered well for dietary requirements of my partner while we both had the tasting set menu. Highlights were the ham & brussel sprouts - nothing like any ham you've ever had, and the fried terrine. Super staff, fun wine list, this is the best restaurant I've been to all year.

Friday night dinner at @the.summertown.aristologist - the "don't think about it" menu because we couldn't decide what to have. Ended up being pretty much the entire menu 😅😅. All the food was local, and the menu changes weekly. So good! . Bread and butter: made by themselves, and the bread was super super moist and soft on the inside. The butter was super delicious 🤤🤤. . Fresh curd and green tomatoes: this was a very interesting dish. The curd was light, but really smooth. So yummy! . Gnocco fritti: fried deliciousness with yummy pork on top. Also had some sprinkling of chilli powder on top, which gave it a nice kick! Super super yummy! . Squash terrine: wow the flavours were amazing, and the squash was so soft! . Devilled egg with gochujang: so yummy!! Nice spicy flavour. The gochujang made it extra special 😍😍. . Pickles: some pickled carrots and beetroot! Pretty good 👍. . Goolwa pipis: really tasty, with a somewhat acidic soup that was really delicious to drink! . Broccoli with romesco and furikake: nicely grilled with a smokey flavour. The sauce made it super yummy 🤤🤤. . Duck heart, sweet corn: wow I really enjoyed this dish! The sweet corn was essentially like a corn porridge, and it tasted amazing. The duck heart was very tender, and had none of the metallic/iron taste that hearts do have sometimes. Great dish 😍😍😍. . Forest range duck, lentils, cettuce: omgggggg this was amazing!!! The duck was smoked and grilled, and the flavours were just incredible 😍😍😍🤤🤤🤤. The meat was very tender, and the skin was super crispy. The rest of the dish were excellent as well. Interesting having the cettuce, which I haven't had in a long time! . Rice pudding with rhubarb: super creamy but not very heavy, and the rhubarb was super tasty!

This little gem is located in Adelaide hills at the little village Summertown. The dishes are completely sustainable with all the veggies coming from their own gardens, are super tasty, the dishes are well seasoned and truly enhance the ingredients. The wine list is focused on the vin nature of Basket range and little international cool cuvée are there too. Service is on point with great attention. Highly recommended. Also the Bread is super...

Lunch at Bespoke before the Game. Things change on Game Day, and it was a bit confusing navigating those changes, scanning in, and producing tickets etc. entrances normally open were closed etc., but all good. Lunch has a limited menu for two or three course specials and then, there is a la Carte. We opted for two courses at $59 which includes a glass of wine each. Have got to say that while a limited selection, lunch was great. A beautifully cooked 300g rump steak medium rare, and chicken my other half absolutely raved about. Great value in our view and worth making a reservation. There are a number of options available on Game Day and any package will describe what you get. But, we have eaten here a couple of times now in the last couple of days, and the food has been really good. Staff are friendly and the dining environment is quiet and of course you get to look out over The Oval which is special in itself. Thanks.

An Incredible Tuesday Night at Bespoke Adelaide Oval We had the pleasure of entertaining clients on Tuesday night at Bespoke in Adelaide Oval and the experience was absolutely top notch. The food and drinks were outstanding the tomahawks were a real highlight and the atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, making it the perfect setting for a productive and enjoyable evening. The service from the Bespoke team was professional, friendly, and seamless throughout. Even better, the meeting itself was a huge success, with some exciting things now lined up for our business going forward. The only small drawback was the plates a few of us found it difficult to cut the tomahawks as the plates slid around a bit. But that was a minor detail in an otherwise fantastic night. Highly recommend for hosting clients or any special occasion, we’ll definitely be back! Great things ahead for Ulster Contracting.

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Bespoke in Adelaide. The highlight of the evening was the lamb dish—expertly cooked, incredibly tender, and bursting with flavour. A big thank you to Luke and Shreyas, who both went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their professionalism and genuine friendliness added a personal touch that made the night memorable. overall happy with the food and experience, not blown away but good overall. like the experimentation in my dish but thing is the croissant doesn't pare well with the eggs. think the texture with the original crunch of the bread makes it worth it. maybe toast the crosiant more or add it to the side?

First time visiting, I was way to early for an appointment so I thought a nice breakfast while I waited would be good. And all I can say is that I'm SO SO SO GLAD that I chose Long lost Friend. First time visiting the Cumby tonight. So impressed! Had dinner, 4 of us. Schnitzel night which went down very well at $18 a plate. I had the Greek chicken - delicious. Great service by the staff. So happy to have this pub as my new local! Thanks all!

This place was amazing, the music and the aesthetic were very century themed which I definitely loved. And then the service was alright welcoming but felt very flat and surface level. And finally the food, it was amazing I loved the crumby burger, it was very meaty and had the perfect blend of spices, sauces and combination of meat, veg and bread.

Came to the Cumberland hotel for a Christmas lunch. Lots of nice food options to choose from. We ordered char grilled greek chicken and chicken snitzel parmigiana. $50 for the two dishes as snitzel was an extra special on Sunday. Lots of people. Good service Parking on street is limited but no reflection of the hotel. Great place for Sunday lunch.

Come here the second time for $18 steak on Wednesday. The dish was very solid for the reasonable price, but 2 out of 6 steaks were quite overcooked on the surface and the rest were fine. You will get different deal on particular day. However, drinks are required to get the special of the day. There are lots of options to choose from. My housemate said that the chicken snitzel was very nice. Service is good. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Nevertheless, there is limited parking on the street in the daytime. Highly recommend for everyday lunch and dinner!

The bartender was very nice and sitting outside was lovely, but the food was pretty bad. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and it was bland, wet inside, and placed on top of the chips, so they became soggy. Probably the worst schnitzel I’ve had. Wouldn’t recommend.

We had such a memorable dining experience at Leigh Street Wine Room. Everything we ordered was absolutely divine, and the service was executed with perfection. The standout dish for us was hands down the duck breast, it was to die for! Rich, elegant, and perfectly balanced. Equally impressive were the pork belly skewers, which were so good we couldn’t help but order two more servings. These two dishes easily made our highlight list and are worth coming back for alone. Mosaic Hotel is a delightful venue that truly shines when it comes to hosting events and providing an enjoyable dining experience. Recently, they hosted a charity event where the staff demonstrated remarkable composure amidst the hustle and bustle of preparations. Guests were treated to exquisite food, with standout service from Liam, who was attentive and helpful throughout the day. The event manager Tayla also received praise for her exceptional coordination. Returning multiple times between March and July has only solidified Mosaic Hotel's reputation for quality.
Made our first visit Friday with siblings and partners and pleased to say our choice was a smash hit! We take turns selecting a venue in our particular areas every couple of months and this was so well received. Unanimous raves on food (mostly seniors menu but unlike some venues no shortcuts on size or quality). Staff were attentive without intruding, friendly and genuine. Impressed by the range of daily specials advertised, several are already planning on return visits to take advantage. Thank you. Our first definitely won't be our last!

Avoid this place at all costs! We came in on a Tuesday night at 7 PM, and the entire restaurant was empty— which should have been our first red flag. Despite this, the staff were far from welcoming. We ordered two pizzas and a chicken schnitzel, which somehow took 40 minutes to arrive, even though there were no other customers. When our food finally came, instead of letting us eat in peace, the staff told us to move into the gaming area so they could close the dining section early. We ended up crammed around a tiny table that could barely fit the three of us. And the food? Absolutely awful. The pizza was burnt, and everything tasted rushed and poorly made—despite the ridiculous wait time. It was clear that quality and customer service are not priorities here. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere that actually values its customers. We will never be back.

Been a few times now, both when really busy and also very quiet. Food is very nice. Service is top shelf from the girls, always smiling. Kids love the putt putt after on Monday nights. Tad on the expensive side but if you go Mondays kids eat free and get 9holes golf so price seems fair, not sure on other nights tho. All in all its a great place and will go back again

Good service, nice atmosphere, well set out. It was fathers day with local produce raffle and thoughtful gift (garden seedling). Our celebration bubble, off the menu, was sold out so staff presented good alternatives. Great non fried, platter option for the children of fresh veg, cheese, crackers and dip (shame the healthy choice was not followed through to the drinks option). Caesar

My first visit to the mosaic hotel. Seated quickly BUT there was no one else in the restaurant. I decided to try the $28 senior set menu. Soup of the day spicy spinach "seriously spicy" and hot I needed sour cream. Main of the day roast beef very nice with roasted veggies more gravy needed over the veggies and meat. Dessert of the day waffles very nice. Good value for $28. My guest had the Curry of the day. Seriously spicy and runny. Needed a side of yoghurt but didn't ask and sauce was watery. Wine selection not bad. The hotel has a lovely setup. I was impressed I enjoyed my meal BUT it's a "seniors menu" your chef needs to pull back on the over spicy.

The wifey and I had been contemplating visiting this pub for some time, so we finally decided to check it out. To be honest, it wasn't the best pub experience we've had. While the setup and fit-out were impressive, the food was a bit disappointing. The chicken wings were cooked nicely, but they were completely flavorless. The blue cheese sauce that came with them was great, but it seems like the wings themselves could have benefited from some seasoning. Unfortunately, they didn't taste very fresh either. Similarly, the chicken parmigiana lacked flavor and wasn't worth finishing. We were hesitant to order the calamari after being told it was frozen. We appreciate that times are tough, but it's still frustrating to see that fresh ingredients aren't a priority for some places. Overall, the food wasn't terrible, but it definitely didn't meet our expectations. I've had much better chicken wings at other pubs, and I was disappointed to find that the chicken parmigiana I had at another spot the next day was so much better solidifying how much the standard was just not there, the other pub was the Jetty Bar, just wow!. However, the waitresses and bartenders were friendly and provided good customer service, which made the experience enjoyable. I would rate this pub three stars.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the RR for dinner this evening! Service is terrific and between us we had the scotch fillet and filet Mignon, both of which were perfectly cooked and tender. Rob Roy by LLaw offers a delightful dining experience, perfect for celebratory occasions like birthdays. The ambience sets a charming tone, especially when seated outside, creating a more relaxed atmosphere than the function room where the buffet is served. With a friendly and accommodating staff, the evening started on a high note. The buffet began with a surprising twist on a classic—freshly made vegetable spring rolls. Unlike the frozen versions often served elsewhere, these rolls were perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and a hit with everyone at the table. Moving to the standout dish, the baked chicken rice was exceptional. With a cheesy crust and a rich, brown gravy, this dish was a showstopper—complete, satisfying, and utterly delicious. The mixed fried noodle, featuring both chicken and prawns, was decent but didn’t quite steal the spotlight. However, the honey chicken offered a refreshing balance, its subtle sweetness keeping it from being overwhelming. The braised beef, however, was the undisputed star of the evening. Incredibly tender, the beef melted in the mouth, with a richly complex gravy that carried a whisper of Sichuan pepper, elevating the entire dish. It’s a must-try for any visitor. The stir-fried vegetables rounded out the meal with a bright, fresh contrast to the heartier dishes. And though the famed Singapore chili crab wasn’t on the buffet menu, the sight of it inside the restaurant promises a future visit. To top off the celebration, Rob Roy graciously provided serving plates for our birthday cake without any additional charge—a lovely touch that speaks to their excellent customer service. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience, and I’ll be eagerly returning for the chili crab. Well done, Rob Roy!

All dishes were delicious and on Thursday you get a free drink with your main which was an affordable bonus. Overall a great location for a well lit, calm, delicious and inviting meal.

Ordered from the lunch specials menu and got the tuna poke bowl. Good portion size and good amount of tuna. The cocktails also have high alcohol content so definitely worth the price

Lovely area in the Rob Roy Hotel. Typically Asian fusion, with burgers and pub classics. Very busy but we managed to grab a table. The seafood laksa was huge and full of spice. The RR burger was 2 patties high with bacon eggs cheese salad and spices. Service was fantastic, the staff were run off their feet. People coming and going. It is well worth a visit.
Michelle D — Google review
I've had a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Rob Roy. A few years ago, when the place was pumping, they used to do incredible sharing platters that were great value and really good quality. As well as jugs of all your favourite cocktails at excellent prices. Unfortunately, this all changed, and the quality started to drop off. The last time I was there, I ordered a Margarita cocktail, and it was terrible, and I haven't been back since - a bad cocktail and you've lost me! Since then, I've noticed a really rocky time for the Rob Roy. Many, MANY menu changes, delivery ideas, identity changes - like, 'Martha's Kitchen' or something? Nothing seemed to work, and it felt like they were pulling out all the stops to stay relevant... or alive! Today, I dropped in to try their new Asian inspired lunch menu. Well, it's a winner! The first thing you'll notice are excellent prices for what you get. No other pub in the area does as good a lunch menu as the Rob Roy. I decided on the dumpling laksa. It's not what I've experienced in the past. This laksa may have been more traditional, I'm not sure, but it had a distinctive smell that I could smell before it came to my table. The taste was initially fishy and over seasoned, possibly too much fish sauce, and I wasn't sure I'd made the right decision, however, it was delicious and filling. I feel I must describe the smell and taste, and it was basically the smell of an Asian grocer, that odd fermented, spicy, funky, 'museum-ey' smell. It wasn't unpleasant, just different, and after my initial shock, I enjoyed it. Staff are friendly and attentive, with full table service a refreshing surprise. Chilled table water was promptly served, but I followed it up with a Margarita (to test) it was good! It's definitely worth dropping in. They have all the old pub favourites, but the Asian menu is where it's at for me and I highly recommend giving it a try. On paying the bill, I was given a coupon card for a complimentary glass of champagne, which was very much appreciated. Good job, Rob Roy! Recommended.

A lovely family-run pub with a nice atmosphere and great service. The menu has a heavy Asian influence, while also including classic pub staples. They also have a decent veg/vegan menu. Will definitely return!

Malt Shovel Taphouse Adelaide is a popular craft beer brewery and restaurant located by the River Torrens, offering stunning views of Adelaide Oval, the river, and Elder Park. The venue features an extensive selection of tap beers from various breweries, making it a haven for craft beer enthusiasts. With its prime location near the footbridge, it's a convenient spot for pre or post-event drinks at the Adelaide Festival Centre or other riverbank activities.
We visited on Saturday and were greeted by Emily who was so lovely! She found us a great table and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. Her recommendation of the pork tacos was a great choice! We’ll definitely be back.

Nice location, next to the convention centre and the River Torrens. We had dinner Friday night and the restaurant was very busy. Luckily we didn’t wait for too long for our dishes. The feast platter was large, enough for everyone. Snack plates were good at good price.
V — Google review
Great place to have a drink on the river when it's a nice day... really enjoyed the atmosphere and watching the sun start to set, but can't recommend the food if the fish n chips is anything to go by. Fish was overcooked and dry, chips were okay, but the slaw wasn't very nice either. Wouldn't come back for food based on this meal, but would come back for a drink and chat with friends.
Jessica D — Google review
Always a great spot for drinks and nibbles or a dinner before a show. Perfect location, beautiful views either day or night. The restrooms need some housekeeping during peek times. Set along near the Festival Centre and Skycity, Convention centre and close to train station and Adelaide Oval.

My wife recently celebrated her 60th birthday here at the Taphouse and we highly recommend this fantastic venue. The food was sensational and plenty of it and the staff were amazing especially Emily who went above and beyond to make sure my wife’s day was extra special. We have already booked in for the NYE celebrations can’t wait!!!!!! If you’re looking to have a stress free event at a beautiful location overlooking the Torrens this is the place to be. Thanks again guys everyone had a ball.

An amazing venue by the river. Great view. Friendly, attentive service. And delicious, generous food, cooked with heart by the kitchen team. Loved it

Brief visit for iced coffees before boarding a train. This venue has finally been given the love it deserves with overhead flexible cover outside, new seating, no poles in the way and with outdoor blinds to come. A great venue in a beautiful part of the world, usually not unpleasantly crowded. Fantastic, efficient service from well organised and friendly young people.

Excellent little gem here. Staff fantastic and really helpful. Meals great and good local beers with Happy Hour pricing. Yep, go here, won't disappoint.

Nice place and staff but terrible food. The steak sandwich was terrible, the only small piece of beef almost burned and chips soft and old. Unfortunately really bad experience
Daniel R — Google review
1st trip to Adelaide, stumbled across this hotel for lunch in April, staff are friendly, good selection of Adelaide wines. Steak sandwich was chewy not good quality. We also had a few other meals but were told $5 extra for share plates! Wasn’t about money more that it was late afternoon and we didn’t want to overeat, Not accommodating and turned us off! Just some feedback.
B J — Google review
Great friendly pub that has been revamped with taste. Service us excellent with staff accomadating where they can. Food was good and portion sizes ample. The only thing that was a bit off-putting was that certain items on the menu were served basic. Example Snitty / Parmy came with chips and gravey. If you require salad or vegetables, these incured an added cost.
Michael-lyn M — Google review
We decided to try The Astor’s Thursday Steak Night. “Steak Nights” can sometimes be an opportunity for pubs to serve up a poor quality piece of meat however The Astor was very different. The steak was good quality and very nicely cooked with a generous serve of fresh salad and great chips.- and all for $17 plus the cost of a drink. The staff were very friendly as well.

I had my 50th party last night and can say I highly recommended having a function here. Staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much for them, food was great. Many of my guests also have said how nice the staff were to. Thank you so much for having us.

Lovely place to chill and drink and eat if you like. Didn’t try the food yet but it’s in the plan over the next few days. Staff are very nice and some good info for a first timer/s to Adelaide lol. Ie the area here and wine tours. Free wifi and there’s a happy hour too with good prices. 😁

Merrymaker Rooftop Bar offers stunning city views paired with a vibrant and lively atmosphere. We went there few weeks ago. The food menu features fresh sides and pizzas, all showcasing local ingredients. Drinks include expertly crafted cocktails. The friendly and attentive staff elevate the experience, ensuring guests feel welcome and well-cared for. A must-visit for a memorable evening with great vibes and flavour's.

Had the lychee martini! It was very nice, had a punch to it, and was full! Rooftop is really nice. I went on a Sunday arvo and it wasn’t too busy. Nice and sunny and a great summer location. I was staying at hotel indigo, and really wanted to check it out before I went home. Including Sunday surcharge one cocktail was $23.1. I am very pro staff being paid penalties, but $23 for a cocktail is steep. Definitely treat prices but I’m happy I tried it out.
Bron W — Google review
High quality cocktails made with skill and care. Sunday arvo vibes are relaxed and food is absolutely gorgeous. Not to forget, stunning views of the city and hills!
Amber G — Google review
Excellent range of cocktails and wine. Was fairly busy when we were there and they were able to get our drinks and arancini (which was quickly finished before I could get a photo of it!) out in time before the rush. Worth a visit if you're a fan of a rooftop view of the city.
Patrick R — Google review
Went here last night with girls. The place is gorgeous, beautiful rooftop bar. Not crowded on a Sunday night. Daniela, Narisha and David made our experience extra special by putting effort in a simple birthday celebration for our friend and making sure we are having fun. Highly recommended. Food is delicious.
Jezreel Q — Google review
Went here yesterday for their Winter special Raclette, and it was such a fun experience! Took a little bit to get started but we got to eat so much incredible melted cheese, enjoy a gin and cocktail from their extensive menu, and enjoy the views. Beautiful bar, staff were friendly and attentive, and the views are immaculate.

It’s was my first time coming here for my birthday and there Lychee cocktail was so GOOD and STRONG not just that but the vibe was so nice and customer service was 10/10 I would coming back again for any occasion!!❤️❤️

Great gem near Chinatown! I loved this rooftop so much! Food, drinks, service, everything is a ten. I went twice but I only ate once. Seafood tacos were so yummy, wanna go back to try them again. I would change just one thing: give ppl more napkins please! 😅 just one is not enough. That happens everywhere here in Oz anyway but it could change to at least two per person!

Asian restaurant
Level One is a unique Asian restaurant at Electra House Hotel that blends Italian and Asian influences. Recommended to share, the menu has many dishes that are sure to surprise.
Excellent presentation of food with well balanced and interesting flavours. We visited on a Friday for lunch and found the restaurant to be quiet. Staff were friendly, attentive without being overbearing, & knowledgeable. We ordered to share the scallop sashimi, grilled baby octopus, and the vegetable tempura. The scallop sashimi was excellent. The flavour of the grilled baby octopus was divine however this dish's score was reduced due to the chewiness of the octopus (needed to be tenderised further). The vegetable tempura was perfect. The batter was crispy and not oily at all. Hands down the best tempura I've eaten. For dessert we had the coconut brulee and the calpis soda jelly. Both of these were exceptional and presented beautifully. We will be returning customers.
Bev K — Google review
Hmm. This is a tough one to review. On one hand, the ambience, service and plating is right up there. But on the other hand, most of the dishes that we sample were a bit underwhelming. The presentation was beautiful and really makes one keen to taste the dish. But here's where it goes a bit south after the grand entrance. It just falls a bit short of the mark when you compare them against the rustic originals that inspired the dish. That is not to say that they were not pleasant. (Except for the scallop sashimi which really tasted flat) I loved the idea of Asian inspired fusion and only wished the flavours were better represented. Having said that, service from the team was definitely the highlight of my evening. They really know how to make you feel welcome. This should be a benchmark. Hence it becomes 3 🌟 for flavour, plus 1 🌟 for everything else being way above expectation. Thank you all for a lovely evening!
Calvin P — Google review
Beautiful space and lovely food!! Order more and share, servings are not big. Some of the stand out dishes were the steak, ribs, eggplant and tempura veges. They were delicious!
Elysia A — Google review
Good ambient... Very interesting fusion of modern Asian cuisine. One of my friends was here before and he ordered the whole menu before coming along with me, so he ordered what he think is the best in the current menu... and I am very very pleased with the food... the bite size snowed corn and pig bits are my favourite, as they really put some effort in the stuffing which made them just blend so well when you put the whole piece in your mouth... warning: there’s some juicy in the pig bits which might burn people with sensitive mouth, but it’s so good that you don’t wanna waste a drip on your plate. So let it cool a bit before you put the whole thing in your mouth... one note: the food takes time to cook, so its a fair bit of wait and the potion of the food are not big, don’t go there if you’re a big eater or super hungry...
Sam S — Google review
Everything we had was a variation on incredible! 3/4 dishes were quite light and perfect for the summer weather. All of them full of flavour and a great mix of textures. I highly recommend Level One to anyone looking for delicious Asian cuisine. Best to be prepared to share so you can taste more! I can't say enough about the: Korean Tong Ho Salad - jellyfish, coriander, enoki, woodear mushroom ($17). If all salads tasted like this I'd never eat anything else! Love the use of the 2 mushrooms (photo included). Veal Tataki - soy, savoy cabbage, green mango ($25). Full of flavour, not heavy at all. Char-grilled eggplant - black tea bouillon, umami crunch ($16). I could have had 2 more plates of this, so wonderfully caramelised that an offering to the gods must have been made. Salmon Aburi - salmon tartare, crispy rice, shiso ($25). This dish was the heaviest of them all, but still light by most standards. The crispy rice is very fun and added a great texture (photo included). We also had the sweet potato cheesecake which was fun to try but the only dish I wouldn't immediately order again. Although I could enjoy a full bowl of the accompanying yoghurt ice cream. Drinks: My Gun, My Gin - fun and good for summer but not a re-order. Green Tea Cooler - refreshing, sweat but not sickly, minty. Hard Pink Lemonade - best of the three, sweat, refreshing and fun.
Bethany H — Google review
The short version would be, there are better options in this genre so wouldn't be rushing here. Pros - everything was tasty but nothing was wow. Salmon could have been but a little bit over cooked but otherwise very solid flavours. Cons - just over priced compared to its competitors which also in my opinion taste better. Went at 7pm and the place was really quiet which led to a weird vibe. Looked like about 20 of probably 70 seats were full.
Anthony M — Google review
Level One offered a fresh take on Asian cuisine with some quirky combinations but still retaining the original profile of the dishes it is playing with. Food is very yummy and well balanced dishes. My group of 5 ordered a good combination of dishes, and everything was great, all but one dish with lamb rump seemed out of the range of what I'd consider Asian cuisine. Otherwise, the food and service was excellent.
Deng A — Google review
Wow! Went here last Friday. Had advised in advance about my extremely annoying mouth allergy which prevents me from eating anything remotely spicy (which I adore) as we remembered from a previous couple of visits -when I was fine to eat normally, - that the menu is quite generously endowed with spicy options. Nevertheless our lovely helpful waitress had already warned the Chef who went out of his way to ensure my courses and sauces were delicious and UNspicy . Heartfelt thanks to you both. Other waiters were on hand for extra drinks so we were both delighted with our total experience.
