Jive is a vibrant music venue located at 181 Hindley Street in Adelaide, known for hosting local and global acts as well as DJs. The venue boasts a laid-back atmosphere with a sunken dance floor and balcony, offering an intimate setting for live performances. Recently awarded the best live music venue at the SA Music awards, Jive has been revitalized through a successful crowdfunding project after facing closure.
Legendary Adelaide venue, seen some incredible shows here over the years 👌🏻
Ned B — Google review
Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience involving Tam Boakes at this venue. My partner accidentally left his cymbals in the band room for a few weeks and attempted to contact the venue multiple times without any response. When he finally managed to speak with Tam, he was met with a surprisingly rude and dismissive attitude. We were told, “Someone came in and shipped them off” and “We did a clean out,” with no accountability or follow-up beyond, “I’ll ask them about it.” . No responsibility was taken. Just keep in mind, Tam, that these musicians are the people keeping you in business, the same musicians that rallied to keep your venue open just a few years ago, and this is how you treat them in return.

Best clubbing weekend in 45 years filled by the second best night Merkules 2019 thanks to the team of staff.

From United States California and saw a post with there signs. This place is becoming a meme for poor customer service. I will remember to never ever come here. As someone who appreciates my rights as a human kinda disgusting. Can’t even wear Ugg boots. Honestly this pub needs to look at themselves
Samuel H — Google review
we went for my friends birthday, got a booth, some random people kept coming to our booth and drinking our drinks. the bartender who came over to help us was really awesome and we loved her. we got kicked out of our booth for some reason tho and the "owner" was speaking to us very condescendingly. my friends also got yelled at for being in the alleyway outside for a smoke, thought that was the reason for that area but who knows? tbh never liked zhivs and it's all going downhill like dogs and reds did.
Sasha M — Google review
As a bartender, the drinks are horrible. I asked for a drink with Vida and they served me a drink that didn't have vodka. When I complained, The bartender was upset with me as if I were an idiot, Man, I'm a bartender, I've worked with drinks and I know what I'm saying. He was trying intimidate me. It was a terrible experience. I didn't recommend that place. And also, The birthday tables and courtesies are not worth it. The worst night club I've met.
Nerimar O — Google review
This is not a safe place for anyone. The bouncer kicked me out because a guy accused me of taking photos of him. Which I did not. This brown bouncer lied about seeing me doing so while he wasn’t even there at the first place. A group of drunk men surrounded my two female friends and bully them. The security let that happen. What’s worse is that the staff joined the bullying, tried to steal my camera away from me, violently attacked us. A police report has been filed afterwards. This is awful and disgusting behavior i would not recommend this club to anyone.
Junxuan C — Google review
Was given "free drink" voucher by staff prior to entry; had to pay (exorbitant) cover charge to enter club, then bar staff REFUSED to honour drink voucher!! SCAM!!

Shivago is like the sewage of the night life, at the end of the night everything drains there, good music, nice vibes, dark vibes, would probably end up there again somehow.

Great music, Great drinks and Awesome staff. Great for a doof doof night ! Vieb was immaculate

Female bartender 12:45am refused to give us drink even though we are completely sober. I have never witnessed such disgusting service from someone in my life. I would rate her 0 stars if I could :(
Gemma S — Google review
$25 for entry and the only floor available was the bottom one. Renovations is fine but lower the entry price if you decide to open the venue at the same time. Music was good and the aesthetic is cool.
STONE H — Google review
The bartender broke someone's head with the door. And the owner, instead of helping, just threw the person away, insulting and attacking him more. The club sucks. Don't go.
Mitsuhiro L — Google review
Security guard was literally doing drugs infront of us, 40 buck entry, so not worth it
Ipr56 — Google review
Venue has a sick aesthetic, trippy visuals were glorious. Staff were nice. Sound system was high quality. Music was the most dreadful noise trash I have ever heard, to the point where it shook me to the core that the DJ managed to get the job, and not in a stylistic way where I just didn’t like the genre it was just the composition had no quality at all. I know so many people who don’t even call themselves DJs who can cut 100x better mixes. Hire better DJ‘s.
Jade B — Google review
Female bouncer pounced on us before we'd even considered entering by asking why we were walking down a public access road, then proceeded to tell us that I wasn't allowed in because I was wearing strappy sandals for safety reasons which is complete bullshirt as I imagine if those same strappy sandals had a 3 inch heel there'd be no problem. I said we were just wondering what type of music was going to be playing since we hadn't been to Electric Circus since about 2007 but she just wielded her tiny bit of power saying we couldn't come in. Clearly she'd peaked at door girl.

Bar
Cry Baby is a vibrant and lively bar with an old-school atmosphere, offering a rollicking experience for patrons. The red neon sign at the entrance sets the tone, evoking a New York bar feel. The venue boasts an extensive selection of aged whiskeys and local beers, creating an inviting ambiance for visitors.
Lovely bar, amazing interior! They play very good rock music. Many beers on draught and bottled. If you love rock music, you have to stop by.
Torben H — Google review
Ladies WATCH YOUR DRINKS. This place is known for drinks getting spiked. I've had friends, and SO many female acquiantances who have been spiked at Cry Baby. I spoke with a bouncer about their reputation, and he was well aware. I asked why they would only have 2 guards on duty if Cry Baby is renowned for women's drinks being spiked, and he couldn't answer. They also don't station a bouncer inside to even watch. This screams a complete lack of care for the safety of their patrons. Such a dangerous place to go.
Julia K — Google review
James poured us a drink at 1:48am, calling last drinks, card declined so went to get my wallet to pay then 1:51am said that he wouldn't let us pay then took the drinks away and said service was closed Question that the drinks were there can just let us pay he declined Said he couldn't pour drinks after last drinks called but the drinks were already poured just needed payment
Alie G — Google review
This little gem is hidden from the main roads so I was surprised when I found this place because I really like going here now. Cry Baby has a great range of beers on tap, friendly staff and an amazing atmosphere. They have large booths and this is great if you are planning to have an after-work drinks or large group gathering for any event at cry baby. Let's not forget the music, I have been here every time and the music is amazing. Ranging from your 50s to your 80s and 90s top tracks.

wild policy to let ppl cross over into another bar and not let ppl back in… my friends are trapped and couldn’t get back. maybe think ur policies through idiots
Felix J — Google review
Came here visiting from Melbourne and I’m itching to go back! Your typical dive bar that is clearly a staple of Adelaide. Really pops off on the weekend with old school 70s/80s/90s tunes and an array of different characters dancing the night way
Iris P — Google review
Come at 9 and you don't need to queue. My friend told me at 9 They can enter whenever you want. But me come after 10.40 and I have to wait till 11.30. but all this paid with the ambience. The songs is quite a bit 80's 90's and I like it. It's so crowded inside. So you have to be carefull while bringin your drink. my bag was wet bcs someone broke the glass and make the floor was sticky. Oh my friend getting annoyed by the other while dancing but It's getting fun hahaha.
Angela P — Google review
Think about an American dive bar. This is it! Cool small bar with very good selection of beers and music. The staff are nice and friendly. The bathrooms are fun to see all the Playboy old covers...no good for kids, please. After midnight the music is pumping with great songs people dance and drink around the tables.

Lily W — Google review
Mary's is really Adelaide's only gay club. If you want a night out somewhere inclusive, where you can be yourself, have fun, and dance your heart away, Marys is the go to (unless you dislike pop music). The drag shows - fantastic. The venue / layout - perfect. The staff and the overall vibes - .. sadly can be hit or miss. Let's get into it. Starting off with the staff. Some of the workers at Marys are the sweetest and friendliest people you will ever meet on a night out, whilst others are the complete opposite. Generally, there are really good people on the door, which I think is the most important. It's such a great feeling when the vibes are high lining up because the door staff and security are bringing that energy from the start, so hats off to them. This is very rare to see at other clubs in Adelaide. Unfortunately, the good service sometimes ends once you're inside. I would not describe a lot of the bar staff as friendly. Too many of the bar staff are only nice to the people they know, and quite sour to everyone else. It almost makes you not want to go get a drink. Now, the biggest issue I actually have with the bar staff here is the speed. My friends and I joke about Marys having the second slowest bar in Adelaide, behind only wax, and if you have been to wax, you already know. It's very clear that the hiring process for the bar staff is more of a social check than requiring properly experienced bartenders. This is a club, one of the busiest bar environments you can get, you need people who can handle that. If you hire people who don't have experience in an environment like that, then you need really good processes in place to upskill them. Now, I never really realised this as an issue until I went to Melbourne, and man, the clubs there, those bartenders are pumping out drinks unbelievably fast. It's not all bad though, the schlongs are fantastic and the water jugs on the sides of the bars are something I think every club should be doing. Next up the music and the overall vibes. For anyone reading this who hasn't been, it's all pop music, non-stop. Even the upstairs r&b saturdays... c'mon, who are you kidding, it's just regular pop playing up there too. The themed music Friday nights are some of the best nights out, Period. That first Chappel night was insane. The vibes on the dance floor are very good. Marys is one of the last clubs in Adelaide where everyone is actually dancing. Overall, it is a great atmosphere, and I would highly recommend for anyone into pop music who is looking for a good night out in Adelaide. However, sometimes it can kind of feel like a main character off, where people are just trying to be the best, and the hottest, and the most fun, and that can feel quite toxic. Almost as though people lose sight of the fact that the club is a place to let the music set you free and just be yourself. There's nothing management can do about this, but I thought it is worth mentioning for anyone deciding whether Marys is a place they should visit. Overall, very good atmosphere. Music is good if pop is what you're into. The dancefloor is actually dancey (which sadly can be rare nowadays). Lastly, please please remember this is an inclusive space. Be respectful, and most importantly, have fun.
Scott G — Google review
Brilliant venue, great music, I love the updated entrance. Fast service at the bars. Good show. The upper level with the stage should be renovated next, a themed room with darker lighting such as RNB, or 90S would be awesome.
Andy — Google review
The bar is amazing! It has such good vibes. Sadly, the security guard (Nac) was extremely rude. He kicked my friend out just because she was dancing on the stairs. Usually, security would give a warning in these situations — we were simply dancing, nothing more. It was really disappointing given how great the place is otherwise.
Marisol A — Google review
For an inclusive club they were incredible EXCLUSIVE turning women away for wearing flats but heels were okay… the only difference is a 1 inch heel… horrific when not advertised online. Just another venue looking to exclude women. Used to love this space but will never return now.
Sarah W — Google review
Great bar set-up, 3 spaces to enjoy
John M — Google review
The music and the show were excellent, everything else was really good. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined by a security guard whose behavior was rude and aggressive, which is completely unacceptable in a customer-facing role. People with such an attitude should not be employed, as instead of providing safety they create discomfort and distrust. It is urgent to review the quality and conduct of your staff.
Jer S — Google review
Horrible experience tonight. Was approached in the line and told that open toed were not allowed unless they were wedges or heels for safety purposes, oddly specific. I was wearing a 4 inch wedge which I held out and showed and was told it was a flat and refused entry. When other members of our group arrived and challenged this some else came out of the bar and told him to let us in. So if it was a safety issue that caused him to approach us when we were not even at the front of the line why was it suddenly reversed. Honestly it felt targeted at women, especially those who had been before and had no issues, as of tonight there is also nothing on the website. Whoever you have on the door tonight was a real let down to this establishment. There is a large group of queer people who will no longer be supporting marys due to this man's targeted and rude behaviour. I know it seems petty to be this mad about a shoe, but that's the point. He told us a dress code requirement. I showed him that I was within that requirement and he started an argument that a 4 inch wedge was a flat and was extremely rude and dismissive the entire time. Do better.

Bar
Nestled in the Crippen Place complex off Hindley St in Adelaide's West End, Rocket Bar & Rooftop is a multifaceted destination for revelers. The venue houses Electric Circus nightclub, Mr Kims bar, and the iconic Rocket Bar with its live music scene. Above it all lies the Rocket Rooftop, offering a more relaxed atmosphere with table service amidst leafy surroundings.
Had some friends visiting from Melbourne so took them to Rocket on Friday night and the vibes were amazing all round. Drinks were slightly pricey but worth it for the experience you get at this club. The staff out front were so lovely, the short one was super sweet and so was the one inside. Was glad to be able to give my friends the proper Adelaide experience.
Violet C — Google review
Probably the worst place I’ve ever encountered. Whoever was the girl sitting taking entry at the door at 10:45pm on Saturday 7th of June was absolutely horrible. Her attitude and demeanour was appalling. I think her customer service needs to be reviewed. I understand you have rules but treating customers and people in general that way is absolutely appalling. We were kicked out for wearing a hat as she spoke to us with disgusting profanity and told we were to throw our hats out and line up all over again or we would be removed after another worker informed us we were fine to go through. We were nothing but friendly and understanding and queried why we wouldn’t be allowed in with a hate and she spoke to us with such a horrible profanity and language that it was borderline bullying.
Jessikah T — Google review
Lined up to go into Rocket on Saturday at about 2am. Line was huge. Midway through the line up they start splitting people into two lanes. Kinda felt like they’ve already made their decision on patrons who they want to enter. Felt like a cattle cart. My friend was first out of group to be ‘assessed’ and was told he couldn’t go in. It was my turn next and the bouncer looked me up and down (checking me out?) and declared I could go inside. I explained I’m not going in without my friends, bouncers became aggressive towards my friends and blocked them from the entrance after another bouncer had said we could all go in? Mixed messaging and terrible aggressive attitudes from staff. Don’t bother.
Eliza R — Google review
When it came time to be let in I was getting my License from my wallet at the front of the door. I was told by the security guard to show my ID to another bouncer standing outside of the line. When I walked over to him he told me to go away. I asked him why and he asked how many drinks I had and I told him (3). He accused me of lying and said that I was sent over to him because I was too drunk. I was pretty clear with him that I was not lying and I was clearly not drunk, talking fine, standing fine, and so on. He told me to go speak to the other guy again. When I did, he asked me how many drinks I had, and I answered, he laughed and said "if you were honest I would have let you in" which was obviously a lie because he was not planning on letting me in anyway. He told me to go back to the other guy and said "he's the boss go talk to him". When I spoke to him, I asked him why he thought I was drunk and he kept giving childish responses like "nothing, I'm kicking you out for no reason" and "the police are walking past if you want to ask them". I told him that he was obviously saying it to get rid of me because the police were not going to make them let me in. At this point, my friend who had been let in, was waiting for me at the side of the entrance, where he was told he was allowed to stand but after he mentioned that he was waiting for me, the bouncer that checked my ID and his buddy grabbed him under the arms and threw him into me. Then the guy I was sent to and the guy that checked my ID (and assaulted my friend) kept saying "it's not my decision, go speak to the other guy" amongst other things like telling me I'm "bullshitting" and to "piss off". By this point it was obvious the guy I was sent to and two guys that assaulted my friend were making fun of me by sending me back and fourth because they kept looking at each other and laughing while being rude to me. Then when I got annoyed at them for laughing, they started yelling at us and the security manager came out and pulled me and my friend aside to talk to me about what happened. He explained that they have a job to do and it is within their rights to decline someone based on a "visual assessment" of how drunk someone is. I acknowledged that, but I made a point of how rude they were in doing so, and how they did not even tell me what was going on until I asked. He said that he still cannot let me in because he has to stand by their decisions, which is pretty poor given the fact that I had demonstrated that I was not intoxicated like they were saying. He was agreeing with whatever I said to him and it was clear to me that he was just trying to get rid of me and my friend, he said that he will review the footage and if what I am saying is true, it will be addressed. Then I asked if I could be let know what the outcome was, his response was "these guys are pretty replaceable, if you don't see them standing here, then you know it was dealt with". Was annoying because if he handled the situation properly, he would have gotten my contact details. He obviously had no plans of addressing the situation and advised us to go somewhere else to continue the night (it was 15 minutes before lockout at this point), but my question is, if he thought that I was sober enough to go somewhere else, why not let us in here? Needless to say, I was really annoyed at what had happened, and even more annoyed that after having agreed with me that what happened was wrong. The manager still didn't let me in or do anything to resolve the situation beyond speaking to me (i.e getting my contact details, asking them to apologies, or letting me in). Even after having written an email to rocket rooftop bar about it, I was not surprised when I was not told how this was dealt with and the same people were standing at the door when I returned, giving me the same attitude.
Tyson M — Google review
Strap yourselves in. I am what my friends call a rocket rat - or I used to be. Back in the glory days I was going to rocket every weekend dancing my little heart away, getting my life. As you can imagine, rocket will always have a soft spot in my heart but my feelings have changed over the past few years, as has the overall vibe and experience. Starting off with the music, I really like the music at rocket. On the bar floor it is housey, and electronic, and dancey, but still a lot of popular songs so people who aren't particularly into those genres will still have a good time. Now, I love the music upstairs on the rooftop. On a good night, it is very disco. But this really isn't for everyone, and I know a lot of people who hate the more lowkey disco house that is played upstairs, but that's all personal preference. To each their own. Next the overall club vibes. Now I don't know about yall, but for me, the club is a place to dance. Rocket's dancefloor is very hit or miss. Some nights it is going off, its is a party, it is a movie, we are getting our liifee, and other nights.. honey, more like a stand floor. So, you just have to manifest that you get lucky but I will add - if you want the dancefloor vibes to be high, you need to bring the high vibes yourself. Lots of people are too scared to be the first dancing, or they feel embarrassed, but you just gotta let the music set you free. If that doesn't sound like something you can do, then maybe the club isn't the place for you. Bar service is pretty good, but can be slow at times with staff talking to each other. Door girls.. oh door girls. Yall. Sometimes they are super sweet and sometimes its giving sour candy by lady gaga ft black pink. I know the door girls have to be somewhat strict, that's their job. But at the same time, the line and the entry is where the vibe of the venue begins and they need to get those vibes going at the door, otherwise the inside suffers. I must also add that there is a hint of discrimination at the door. One night I was lined up, quite late 1:30/2am ish, there was almost no line at that point. A group of arab blokes were just ahead of us in the line and one of the door girls kept saying to them "It's very busy, we're at capacity the line could be a while like 40 mins to an hour" seemingly trying to convince them to leave. Sure enough, the left the line, then she turned to us and said something along the lines of "we don't want their type in here. they cause problems" and next minute me and my friends were inside in no time. I was taken back; all my friends were. This was one of my favorite places to come and enjoy myself and meet new people, and to find out it was being run in a discriminatory way. I was devastated. Finally, somewhat tying back into my dancing point I just want to touch on how I feel it has changed over the years. Very obviously, people don't dance like they used to. This isn't unique to rocket though, lots of clubs are suffering. They are becoming, as I said, a stand around fest. If you want a boogie in town, especially if you are out for a dance by yourself, I would not recommend coming here - not anymore. The responsibility is on us, the people, to bring back the once legendary vibes. Even the staff and their friends, I see them mostly sitting around upstairs not dancing either. Maybe that's the vibe rocket is now going for, and if so, that's ok. But I miss what it used to be. I miss being able to come here by myself and dance till dawn with others who are there the same. 5 stars if it were 3 years ago, -2 because the vibes have changed. Also, one final final point for those wondering, I see you - this is the go to club for the DL bi men of Adelaide, trust, if you're looking.. yall know where to go.

Bank Street Social is a trendy underground bar known for its local craft beer, award-winning cocktails, and DJ nights. The exposed-brick walls and curved booths create an inviting atmosphere, while the elevated private loft is perfect for hosting parties. The bar offers a selection of South Australian beer and wine, premium gins, whiskeys, and moderately priced pizzas made with locally sourced ingredients. It has become a favorite spot in Adelaide for those who enjoy house, disco, and tastefully-selected party tracks.
I received one of the best drinking and party experiences in here. Bartenders are super professional and I can feel the passion through their hospitable attitude. Tayla made delicious pear-fection (her recipe) for our group and Lottie catch our mood recommending the most suitable American whisky from that. Manager named Alexia always has her warming smile on when she host different group and DJ brings the best dancing vibe. One of our friend didn’t quite know about what she wants and Drew helped her find her spirit perfectly. Love this place and this team!! (And beautiful decoration style!!! ) *And unmentioned team members they have been doing great as well cuz the experience drinking here is really impressive ✨

We popped in yesterday and loved it. Massive (like huuuge) selection of drinks, really good service, and fun, easygoing vibes. There was a wine tasting on, so we shared a lovely bottle of Sangiovese while a DJ played chilled tunes. Intimate, a bit quirky, and just a really good night out.

We had a fabulous time at Bank St Social. We were celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary and were welcomed kindly by a beautiful staff member named Rose. We don't get out to Adelaide often, so we had to use Google to find our place of choice. We spotted this place and decided to give it ago, we booked in using the free online system. We booked from 5pm for drinks and were the only people at the venue for 30mins or so. We had great conversations with the staff and were delighted to see the variety of drinks and foods available. We had multiple of different drinks ranging from whiskey to cocktails. We ended up ordering the charcuterie board and it had great variety and amounts of food. I have never seen so much prosciutto at any venue in the past [thanks chef team!]. We finished the evening off by ordering a whiskey/chocolate pairing board, which was absolutely perfect. It was hand delivered to us by Drew who was most definitely a whiskey connoisseur! Thank you to the team, and if we're ever in Adelaide CBD without the children again, we will be back!

I’ve been to plenty of bars, but Jazmin genuinely stands out. From the moment we walked in, she made the whole experience unforgettable. Her energy is unmatched — friendly, attentive, and always making sure everyone’s having a great time. The drinks came out fast and perfectly made every time. Highly recommend.

Very rude staff and security. Called abusive words to us and did not let us in. This guy ( big tummy and big in size) was so rude and called us two girls very abusive words and even lied about the things which we haven’t even said. Sometimes they just think that the world is under their control just because they work as a security for a club.

I went to a party and asked only for tap water. There was an Asian guy serving, he saw me and he just refused to serve!! I wasn’t even asking for alcohol… very very disappointing to be in the queue and get a “no” for water whiteout any reason.

Went to the 20th birthday party, terrible experience. Staff refused to give me tap water, twice! That's 100% unacceptable. Should report the Asian looking dude but this 1 star will hopefully do the work!!!

This place is way over hyped. It is very small and cramped. Drinks are overpriced. Music is way too loud. Venue smells awful. Owner has a questionable reputation. Security can be unnecessarily heavy handed with young patrons. This place really has very little going for it unless you are pinging hard and want to stare at the light up dance floor.
Tony — Google review
They let the staff treat you however they want. I had never met or known the VIP girl and the girl with coloured hair and glasses before. I was on a night out when they provoked, targeted and attacked me. To then just be banned when I was the one left with bruises and swollen face. The staff will treat you poorly and then just ban you. It’s not a safe venue at all.

Music choice Is pretty decent, keeps me moving. The venue itself is quite small and often becomes overcrowded and smells bad. Personally I'd spend my $20 on entry at a larger venue. Drinks are reasonably priced. If you can get in while it is free. It's 100% worth it. Gotta experience reds at least once!

This place re-opens tonight. With a licence for over 2,300 people, this place is amazing. It's multi level, and has even retained some of the original fittings that used to be here, when it was a cinema in the 50s. The interiors are incredible. I was lucky enough to have a sneak peak this week, and it's safe to say, this place will be huge, by Adelaide standards... Can only say to get down tonight, and check it all out.

My mates and I used to go to this club every weekend until the security guards changed, they started being very brutal and abusing their power dragging people down the stairs when they passed out instead of picking them up. Putting people in headlocks and dragging them out of the club, for a fight they weren’t involved in. They are discriminative to people wanting to enter the club. Also highly recommend having 000 on speed dial because you will more then likely get spiked in this club don’t recommend

Distill is a trendy cocktail and wine bar in Adelaide, known for its industrial-chic ambiance and creative cocktails. The two-level establishment offers a versatile experience, with downstairs lounges providing a relaxed setting for conversation over inventive drinks, while the upstairs level features a lively dance floor with resident DJs spinning tunes. The bar hosts themed nights and is praised for its excellent service when hosting events.
Very happy with the event held at Distill in November 2023. Steven and the team were amazing - coordinating everything which was the biggest selling point! Drinks package, food, servers and DJ were all organised in house. They even had suggestions for a supplier of decorations if required. Would highly recommend the team at Distill for your function for their professionalism and organisation, the night was stress free! Thank you

We attended a private Christmas function upstairs. The bar staff were friendly and efficient. The finger food that I tried was good. The decor and ambience was pleasant but unremarkable. Downstairs in the main bar area was very busy and very loud.

It is a wonder how distill maintains their liquor license. Not checking ids, letting anyone grab an over eighteen wristband, and even WORKING STAFF taking shots behind the bar. Just a reminder to staff, when you think someone is "too drunk" you either refuse service or kick them out, not shut them in a separate room with the security and disallow anyone else from entering.

Leaning more to a 3.5 than a 3 stars. The venue is quite nice though I find that for a place that now claims to specialize in cocktails and heavily advertises them, they had run out of all ingredients to do cocktails by 11.30 (for a venue open till 3am). They also claim they are focusing on whiskey sours for winter (huge signs over their bar) and once again where out of eggs by 10pm. But the music upstairs was great and the line moved quickly to get up there too, generally clean for a club and staff are quite friendly, just a shame that half the reason you go there isn't available at a reasonable hour, hopefully they take their menus popularity into account soon when getting their stock so they can serve their amazing drink all night long. Picture: Luckily we got our hands on one of their lovely cocktails, this one is called Marigold and was beautiful!

Loved the waitress that served us. Shout out to Sarah! Tables were too close to each other and I could not squeeze in as the chairs and tables are just too narrow. Very uncomfortable and tight! Overrated food if you ask me. Not a fan of the in house whiskey sauce, it is just too darn sweet and do not go well with steak. Will come back to try something else.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my mum’s birthday, and it was a lovely experience The prices were on the higher side, but the food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was just as good The staff were all very friendly and attentive Each dish we ordered felt carefully prepared, with real attention to detail I think this place would be great for group gatherings as well :)

Food was pretty tasty, price seemed mid-range for a steakhouse, but service was so terrible. We went in without a booking, the restaurant was very quiet. There were 3 staff talking to each other at the cashier desk and when they looked our way didn’t acknowledge us. Two walked away eventually and we were seated by the other one. Took another 20mins for someone else to come take our order. We ordered dessert to come out after we finished our meal. Had a steak, delicious. No one came to clear our plates and we sat there for 40mins waiting for our dessert. Multiple staff hanging around, no one thought to clear our plates or to check on how our meal was. Husband ended up having to get up to ask someone to help hurry along the dessert. Another 15mins later they brought out the dessert. Again, delicious, but we had to prompt the server to clear our plates. I think the cherry on top was 2 minutes after they brought the dessert out they had the audacity to send someone come to our table to tell us they were closing soon and that we would need us to finalise our payment before they closed. It’s the most attention we got from serving staff all evening. Good food, but terrible service which doesn’t make it worth the price tag.

Great little funky bar. Love the renovations. Went on a Tues night, nice and quiet (have heard the DJ can be loud) and booked through first table. Food was amazing. The beef was incredible. Great place for a quick lunch in the city. The “bar” on the ground floor is a pleasant, light area with the very high ceilings and huge windows of a bygone era. Food was much better than we expected. Service with a smile was polite, friendly and helpful. Impressed with the beef burger which was slightly pink in the centre as befits a gourmet burger and juicy, but without juices leaking messily everywhere. Fried chicken and chips were superbly deep fried leaving not a speck of oil on the greaseproof paper lining the serving basket.

Such a vibey place, the interior is lovely and the atmosphere is great. The music played by DJ was good. We utilised the 25% off shared plates and ordered a few plates for the three of us. The sweet and sour tofu and a good spicy kick to it which made it really flavourful. The pork belly was not overall sweet, had that nice stickiness from the sauce and cooked well so it fell off the kebab. The chips well salted and crispy. The kingfish ceviche was fresh and seasoned. Would come back here for the food as well as the drinks!

I've been seeing bands here since the 80s... Nothing has changed and it doesn't need to - it's the BEST band venue around. Beautifully daggy and retro, an awesome space, perfect size and (here's the most important part) the sound is always fantastic. Thebbie is an icon!!

People may have their personal views on the upgrade, but I would like to comment on the fantastic staff that were on shift for Leo Sayer last night. I attended the concert in a full leg splint due to an injury, and the team, especially Jane , number 11, could not have been more accommodating. It's not only the venue and the artist that make for a great experience at a concert, the staff can definitely make or break it, and last night's team definitely ensured that I had a great night.

$8m upgrade. Are you serious? New toilets and another bar, extra parking, tick. Awful acoustics. Original plastic seating where you are crammed in like sardines. Theatre itself the same, albeit a coat of paint. No tiered seating. We couldn't see the show at all. 2000 people and no tiered seating. Are you kidding? You charge $130 per ticket for a show!!! If you pay that for a show at the Festival Theatre or Her Majesty's Theatre you get more comfortable seats which are tiered, great sound and clear vision of the stage. First and last visit for us. So many left at interval.

The seating is atrocious, luckily we were on the end of the row (row s) and we stood up against the wall to watch the show just before interval & again after interval. (Leo Sayer concert) Seating needs to be addressed. Trish

Just left the Leo Sayer concert, the concert was brilliant. Leo Sayer and band were magnificent. The seating was terrible, squashed in, couldn’t even sit back as no room between 2 men. Shotgun Willie's is a new addition to the small bar scene in Gilbert Place, Adelaide. The bar exudes an American honky-tonk Western Saloon vibe with its glittery fairy lights, American decor, and an impressive back bar. It offers a wide selection of tap beers and liquor, along with an American food menu. Guests can enjoy live music performances by some of South Australia's best country singers while sipping on bourbon or Budweiser beer.
Oh boy! As an American visiting this “American Bar” it was quite a trip. The menu offered beers like Budweiser that we didn’t see anywhere else in Australia. They offered Buffalo Wings, Mozzarella Sticks and other “American fare” that was all really good. There was live music that I would describe as “bluegrass” which isn’t really what we listen to in the states BUT it was incredibly fun. The patrons sang along, danced and had a great time. I was skeptical at first but this was a great highlight.
Rick G — Google review
Yeh nah mah Old Paint took me to Willie’s on mah way home from bible study. Thought it would be a quiet hovel for a cowboy to have a glass-a-whisky. I heard music and a yee-hah’n, so I hitched mah steed to the post and pushed open the door. The saloon, full of Daisy Dukes in denim shorts with their thumbs in their belts dancing in line synchronicity, kickin and a-howlin, turned and stared as the music stopped and I stepped inside the bar. The place was packed to the rafters, so I shuffled passed JC (Johnny Cash) who was bouncing at the door, through the pack of cowgirl boots and smooth legs to the bar, where I ordered a drink as the music and dancing continued playing. It was hard to see through all the bouncing bodies but as I scanned the room I could see that there was a lot of Willie Nelson photos and other original country paraphernalia. There was a good amount of warm and coloured lighting, helping give authentic feels to the deer heads and dart boards amongst the pine dressed walls and timber stage and dance floor. The bar was lit like a Christmas tree, and behind the latino girls pouring drinks were shelves of assorted liquor, below Shotgun Willie merchandise T-shirts hanging from above. As more cowgirls packed in, my personal space began being impinged on, so taking my drink I ducked a few elbows and dodged a few kicks and scooted my way to the door where I took a seat out the front of High Spirits next door. If I weren’t committed to the Lord and was still walking in sin, I’d reckon I’d have enjoyed Thursday Boot Scootin Night at Shotgun Willie’s. It’s definitely a place I’d return to hopefully have a quiet drink with me Old Paint sometime.

Great little bar tucked away in the backstreets of Adelaide. Visited on a Sunday evening. Food was good, large portions. Stefano Hauk playing live. Worth a visit

First time here and we are wrapped. The cutest little American dive bar ever. Decor is so cool with the presence of all the original country music artists throughout and Live entertainment. Staff and service are great, and the atmosphere is awesome with patrons walking in in their cowboy hats and boots. Menu is true American style and I can highly recommend all of it. We tried a bit of everything and were not dissapointed. In love with this place and will definitely be back!

The bar is very nice, the service is friendly, but the organization is poor. It's very crowded because the place is very small. The band finishes playing early, so people get crazy, climbing onto the tables at 10 PM (a fairly early hour). If the band started playing a little later, there would be an opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere. They should have better control over the toilets ; a lot of people are using drugs in the toilets (nothing different from other bars in Adelaide).

The atmosphere here was amazing, and the music truly hit the spot for all the country music lovers in attendance.

An incredible venue; it's like stepping into the best man cave ever. The beer (Hefe) was great, and by great, not too hoppy. But you're going to enjoy the decor and atmosphere. Make the effort and visit soon 👍😁

Holey Moley Golf Club in Adelaide is a popular and accessible mini golf course and bar venue, perfect for various occasions like first dates, nights out with friends, or team building activities. The 80s-themed venue offers a unique experience with its multi-sensory labyrinth of creatively designed holes inspired by everyday life and childhood favorites. It's a fusion of putt-putt and cocktails, making it an exceptional golfing experience.
Booked randomly after the other thing we wanted to do in town after birthday dinner was booked out. No regrets, we had so much fun and getting there early to enjoy a cocktail was a great idea, cocktails were fun and delicious! Perfect date night activity.

Great amusement in the heart of the city. Great friendly staff, extended hours for convenience. Great drinks deals. Parking is somewhat difficult with location.
Janet’s J — Google review
My kids had heaps of fun here, it was only $12 per person for 2 adults, 2 kids (you have to enter a code at checkout). Pizza combo deal was $48 for 2 pizzas and large fries which was great value, $12 for gin spritzer cocktail. Kids had fun in the arcade too. It took me a long time to come here because I thought it would be really expensive but it was actually great value and a good place to come on a hot 38 deg day.

It was my first time playing mini golf with my family and it was the best experience ever! I’ve been here before for their food (highly recommend the nachos, hot honey pizza and burger) but I’ve always wondered where the golf area was! It was just tucked away upstairs 😆. Enjoyed the different movie themes it had per hole. Which you’d definitely enjoy if you’re a movie buff. The staff was really friendly as well! Highly recommend 🐣

First class customer service…Goes to Emily!!!! 🥇 There was a hiccup in the booking and she was so kind to offer another drink for the whole team. So nice of her and super duper friendly :) Thanks!

Spent well over a hundred dollars here just to wait over half hour to receive my drink after ordering it. The staff member was not in any hurry to get the drinks out. Then waited ten or so minutes for each hole, even when there is a booking system in place. Then on top of the whole night we played a hole where both our balls didnt come out the other side so we lost each others ball on the yellow course on the wonka hole. Will not not be be wasting money there due to our experience and won't be recommending it. I get that Saturday can be a busy night but the poor execution with the booking system and staff not caring how long they take it kinda a crappy experience

The Gov is a historic and impressive venue in Adelaide's music scene, boasting 170 years of entertainment experience. It hosts a variety of live bands, from acoustic to rock and hip-hop, ensuring there's something for everyone. This iconic establishment has welcomed both local and international acts to its stage, making it a must-visit for music enthusiasts. With nightly performances covering diverse musical genres, The Gov offers an unparalleled nightlife experience in Adelaide.
Probably one of my favourite gig venues to date! Super friendly and chilled staff. Love the lively music environment and the hot chips there were great too! I particularly love the balance of the place: - you can be right up at the stage, intimately enjoying live music - you can hang out in cozy booths under pretty lights - you can hang out in the pub area inside, still within earshot of tunes - you can listen to the live music and still have a clear view of the stage while having a smoke outside, hanging out on stools or outdoor couches - the bar area is well-placed with ease of access - the merchandise areas are easy to get to aswell! Was really awesome experiencing a heavy music gig in an intimate space (that would usually be very sweaty and claustrophobic) with plenty of fresh air flowing in! Absolutely will be back when I get the chance!

Good place to watch big and small gigs. Decent food and a PLENTY of space. This place has a mix of areas- ranging from the intimate small stage and living room type area to regular front bar to big dining area to concert venue for 700 people. Nice beer selection.

First time visiting the Gov to eat, thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I had a fantastic dinner and drinks. Gov had fabulous menu options (had a handmade pie for dinner wow!) and a thoroughly pleasant atmosphere. Waitress Amani was accommodating to all of our needs (complicated as they were) and helped us out above and beyond. Will visit again and stay for the music next time! Thank you team at the Gov.

Great pub for live music, food however is pretty average. We've eaten there a couple of times, but had dissapointing experiences when ordering a steak. Each time we've requested (med/rare) but we end up with dry well done pieces of meat. Even with replacement steaks, they still come out over done. Staff are cheerful and attentive, beers are cold, and the live music great. If you want a steak, give it a miss.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel, especially when it came to dining. The indoor dining environment was elegant and comfortable, creating a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. The outdoor setting was equally impressive, offering a beautiful and serene ambiance that made the experience even more enjoyable. This hotel offers a top-tier dining experience with great food, a wide range of drinks, and impeccable service. Highly recommended!

Quizz nights great, run in the beer garden. It was well run and great entertainment space. Service was good, however Food and drinks were a bit of a wait. Some occasions dishes are fantastic, others improvements could be made, ie. grilled fish & chip was terrible on an occasion. Feedback was given to when food sent back. No offer to rectify unfortunately so won’t order this dish in future! Will have to come back for quizz nights and to try the other dining spaces and extensive menu.

Food and environment are super good in our visit. Kids loved them! The only catch is kids were there for Wednesday wings promo but only got told that not all restaurants selling them and you cannot order take away on this item. Should be much clearer on the promotion message. We ended up dining at the Greenhouse Restaurant which has great food.

Nice clean place. Service was great, food was hit and miss. I expected a higher standard from the food, to reflect the high price. Probably won't go again.

I always ordered Haloumi fries and they were 4 large pieces with sour/sweet yoghurt or something which was very good. However on Wednesday I ordered the Haloumi and it came in 5 small pieces (like they cut 2 full ones in the middle) and this time the sauces were weird and didn't go with the Haloumi, they didn't add honey and not only that they also increased the price. Very disappointed. ☹️

Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas in Adelaide is a great spot to catch a movie with the family during school holidays. With 14 screens, including boutique-style and larger cinemas, there's always a variety of options for families. The art deco interior adds to the luxurious feel of the cinema, and the beautiful artwork complements the artsy vibe of Prospect. While some visitors find the popcorn disappointing, others appreciate the $15 double features and movie selection.
I love this place. The variety of movies they show is outstanding. So many options not usually available at the main/ major clomplexes. Reasonably priced tix, i can hit the bar before going in. I go here on average, once a month. If i could give more stars, i would!

The theater is good. Location is a bit tucked away. Kept well. Neat and clean. The cafe has quite a variety of Snacks, coffee & Juices. They serve wine too. Lots of good movies playing. There are around 12 Cinemas. Been here to see The movie...THE SUBSTANCE. On the whole a good experience 👌 ✨️ ☺️
Prude W — Google review
I came here a couple of weeks ago to watch Death of a Unicorn before the Gather Round opening game. I honestly never knew this cinema was related to Cinema Nova in Melbourne. What even surprised me more is that this may be the only independent cinema with a Premium Large Format. (a cinema that isn't Hoyts or Event that has a PLF). Cinema 1 is named EXIMAX and it used to be an IMAX theatre, the screen is huge there. Besides the history, the place is quite nice, loved the French Jazz that was playing in the foyer, had nice atmosphere. The staff were helpful and the cinema was easy to navigate. The value is so good for students, 13 dollar tickets EVERYDAY for students is a steal, 13 dollars is the price of Cheap Tuesday tickets at Hoyts, Event and Village. 13-16 dollar tickets daily should be the norm for all cinemas depending on the experience as it brings loads of people to watch movies. Loads of people were in my theatre due to the extremely affordable tickets. The auditorium I was in was comfortable, but it could use an upgrade. The sound and screen quality was good. My only gripe with this cinema is that it's hard to find, no signs to follow and its tucked away behind very small laneways. But overall, it's a great cinema, very affordable and good value for students.
Joshy — Google review
The floor is looking a bit worse for wear but the seats were good. I was in a smallish screen but it was still quite good and the audio was fine. Overall I would recommend it if you are in the city or if you are after a movie that is less mainstream or at the end of showing.
Bevan C — Google review
My go-to cinema to see new films! The bar staff are lovely and make good drinks. The popcorn is always fresh and delicious ☺️ The seats aren't the most comfortable but they have cup holders and the cinema has always been clean when I'm there. Prices are good here and if you're a regular movie-goer, they have a good membership plan for you to get great value too.
Emily G — Google review
We had a private screening of The Substance to cap off a Halloween bus tour in 2024. We arrived fairly messy and left even messier however the professionals at The Palace took extremely good care of us. From the setup to the end - they were amazing. For a great price, I cannot recommend a private screening for you and your friends enough at Palace Nova. Thanks so much guys :)
James J — Google review
Great movie but foyer is tired and struggling, needs a dynamic upgrade. Get rid of the old thread bare carpet go with a timber look flooring far easier to clean and maintain bench seating is hard and showing signs of the abuse it has been subjected to.

Alma Tavern is a popular restaurant and bar known for its outdoor courtyard, pub grub, DJs, and bingo nights hosted by local AFL stars. What sets this place apart is its extensive gluten-free menu with over 30 options. The tavern also boasts a big screen for sports events and is co-owned by AFL stars Mark Ricciuto, Taylor Walker, and Rory Sloane. It's conveniently located within walking distance or accessible by bus. The beer garden tends to attract a younger crowd.
Had such a wonderful dining experience the other day! Great night out with my sisters and the new chef Tom has really invigorated the menu, it was FANTASTIC!! 72 hour wood oven bread, lamb shanks that just fell apart, incredibly tasty burger, the list guest on! Really loved the cocktails, all the staff were so lively and so attentive Wonderful hospitality, wonderful staff, great vibe, incredible food, I'll definitely be back!

I recently visited Alma Tavern. The portions were generous and definitely good value for the price, though I found the taste to be fairly average. The staff were attentive and helpful, which made the experience more enjoyable. The atmosphere is lively and quite noisy, with a classic pub feel — great if you’re after that kind of vibe. Overall, it’s a good spot for a hearty meal and friendly service, especially if you enjoy a busy pub atmosphere.

The new Chef at the Alma is outstanding, probably the best Lamb Shank I have ever had and I have had a few. Fell off the bone and paired with a nice wine, it was perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks Alma..

We had the dumplings and whipped fetta for entrees (my husband particularly loved the homemade forcaccia), they were delightful and we would've been satisfied with these as our meal. We then had the Pork Loin and Marlin, which were cooked perfectly, both were moist ad delicious. Would go back again for the food.
Nerea Q — Google review
Rocked up to the Alma for a feed and strewth, it’s like someone nicked a bit of heaven and parked it smack bang in Norwood. First up, the chicken wings, skin so crispy you could hear it crack from the other side of the pub. Golden, glistening, hugging the meat tighter than a bogan in a mosh pit at the Gov. Then that rhubarb chilli sauce kicks in, starts all sweet like a Farmers Union iced coffee, then whacks ya like a copper catching you doing a burnout down Cross Road. Prawn linguine rolled out next, fat juicy prawns tangled in pasta like they’d been netted down at Outer Harbor. Sauce was that rich I half expected it to start a bidding war at the Central Market. Had me making those little mmm noises that the oldies at the next table pretended they couldn’t hear. Then the big dog, the scotch fillet. Bloody oath. Thick, tender, dripping with juice, and crowned with spiced butter that melted slower than traffic on South Road. Chips on the side, perfect for mopping up all the steak juice when you reckon no one’s looking. The owners run the joint like pros, it’s got the vibe of a Sunday sesh down the Bay mixed with a Friday night at the footy. Leave here hungry and you need your head read. Next beer’s on you two legends, I’ll be back for it.

Absolutely amazing! Lovely decor, great dining spaces, awesome customer service. They come and take your order at your table! And when they bring the table.water (which is ice cold!) they pour the first glass for you! I ordered a Eggplant parmy and woodfire garlic bread, my friend ordered the 300gm sirloin steak. Meals are absolutely PHENOMENAL. Taste amazing. Garlic bread best ever on this planet. Will Absolutely be returning. Highly recommend. My friend words on the steak- it is to die for!

Last night we booked a table in the restaurant and it was a great meal. The area was table service which meant we didn’t have to line up. The area is nicely styled and the booth seats looked like a great spot for a date night. We had a table by the fire which was a good spot on a cold night. The food tasted great and was a decent serving size. I took half the curry home as I was too full from eating the garlic bread. Definitely recommend and would come back again. The desserts sounded so good I want to try them.

Had a great time here! very fun experience and the building itself is really nice with an awesome lounge area. The escape room itself was well thought out, fun and engaging. We managed to escape the hardest room with the help of Olly. He was a great guy and introduced us to our room with great enthusiasm and made us feel super welcome. Would revisit to do more rooms for sure!

I recommend doing the hardest option for adults, it’s pretty fun, reasonable price. I think the timeframe given for the sessions are perfect. Easy to locate, staff are all very friendly, welcoming and professional. The room we chose was just enough for six adults, anymore would be too crowded I think, making it uncomfortable and in the way of each other.

We had an incredible time in the “The collectors curse” escape room — one of the best themed rooms we’ve ever done! From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported into a world of eerie enchantments, mysterious relics, and shadowy secrets. The puzzles were cleverly crafted and immersive, with just the right balance of challenge and excitement. Every detail in the room felt deliberate and atmospheric — from the lighting and props to the sound effects that gave us chills in the best way. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was our game master, Olly. From the very beginning, Olly set the tone with a perfect mix of humor, mystery, and energy. They were incredibly attentive and knew exactly when to step in with a nudge (without giving too much away). You could tell Olly was passionate about what they do, and it made the entire experience feel even more magical. If you’re looking for a room that’s spooky, story-rich, and genuinely fun, this is it — and if you’re lucky enough to get Olly as your game master, you’re in for a treat. We’re already planning to come back for another round of adventure!

Went to Woolshed for a night out and had a really disappointing experience. One of our friends (Indian guy, visiting from Sydney) was refused entry because the bouncer called his Tommy Hilfiger jacket a “Sports” jacket. It was just a regular one with a small logo. He even took it off, but was still told, “Once you’re refused, you’re banned for 24 hours.” Meanwhile, others in much more casual clothes were let in without an issue. Funny how this “rule” seems to show up selectively. Judging by other reviews, this place seems to treat certain ethnicities differently. At this rate, even Armani would be labelled gym wear. We had already been waiting a long time, and after all that, the whole group had to leave. Woolshed clearly isn’t the place for everyone. Won’t be back.

Embark on a delightful adventure along the River Torrens with the iconic Popeye Cruises in Adelaide. Departing from Elder Park, these daily cruises offer a leisurely way to explore the city's points of interest while enjoying the comfort of a boat. Whether you're seeking a family-friendly outing or a romantic escapade, these tours provide ample photo opportunities and an escape from the hustle and bustle.
The cruise was an all-round pleasant experience with a terrific crew in James & Flynn who were friendly, efficient & helpful. James' commentary was wonderfully informative and delivered in a natural style as though he was telling a story which mattered to him and not just reciting a script. We had a thoroughly enjoyable morning while learning a lot about Adelaide & the Torrens River. The scones, jam & cream of the Devonshire Tea made the whole experience even more worthwhile. Thoroughly recommended!!

Enjoyed the cruise & commentary. We booked 10am & that worked well with then fitting in other things for the day. Booking was easy & instructions worked well. I enjoyed the old photos. Getting off at the zoo worked well as we walked back through the Botanical Park & Gardens. Adelaide put on a beautiful day too. Thank-you! Captain following swans was a hit too as l we come up from Melbourne to see swans!
Paula W — Google review
Fantastic experience not only for my grandchildren but also for the adults aboard the river cruise. The “Captain” was terrific - absolutely across the history and current news of the area. I learnt so much about my own “backyard” as did the children. The crew were extremely personable yet professional, funny and entertaining. The Captain kept all aboard totally engaged throughout the 45 minute tour. My seven year old grandson wanted to join the following cruise to go again! We will definitely be buying vouchers as gifts for friends and family. A classic example of forgetting what we have in our own backyard. It made me proud to be a South Australian! Congratulations on a premium tourism experience (I used to be an Australian Tourism Awards judge in a past life so I can say that!). Have to give the nearby Home Ground cafe/restaurant a big shout out too for great coffee and al fresco lunch after the cruise. Thank you for making the day such a memorable experience for my grandchildren and me!
Sharyn R — Google review
I had a beautiful time on this river cruise! Sam and Anastasia were very friendly and passionate about informing guests about Adelaide and its history. We got to get off at the zoo and botanic gardens and get picked up later in the day. Highly recommend!
Caitlin M — Google review
What a great little morning cruise this was (Devonshire Tea option included). The 45mins doesn’t seem long, but in that time “the captain” dishes out in a typical Aussie fashion the history of Adelaide from the perspective of the river, and the story behind Popeye the boat. It’s really quite like going back into time to small cruises with locals running the show. The staff were great - the Devonshire tea huge (2 massive scones, heaps of cream and jam plus a coffee/tea), and just a pleasant way to learn more about the city. (You can tell that the “captain” giving the commentary loves his city!)
Andrew R — Google review
It was a nice little trip on the Torrens River - with Skipper James who had lots of information about the city and the adjacent river sights. It was interesting and something diffrent for 45min spending time on the water in Adelaide. Thx
Kay F — Google review
Booked a Popeye River cruise through GetYourGuide and was not disappointed. Although the cruise is brief with 40 ish minutes ($26 pp) we enjoyed it a lot. It provides a good insight for people who haven’t seen anything of Adelaide yet. The boat was really cute and the 2 man crew was very lovely. I believe we had captain Sam and helping hand Flynn in charge of us. We loved the commentary and the jokes from the captain. There is a bar on board to purchase snacks and drinks from. We had absolutely stunning weather for our cruise. People did not have to have pre purchased tickets; it is also possible to purchase tickets on site where the boat docks at Elder Park. Many thanks for the lovely tour 🛥️🌊

We did the Kangaroo Island Spirits trip yesterday and it was fantastic! Jamie our host was engaging and very informative. Finn was on the ball and helped to serve us our drinks. Captain Sam was lovely and tooted the horn to all the passersby! What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with friends.

The Duke of York Hotel is a lively pub located on Currie Street in Adelaide. It offers a wide selection of craft brews and hearty burgers, making it an ideal spot for beer enthusiasts and burger lovers. The pub also features a beer garden where patrons can relax and enjoy their drinks outdoors. In addition to its regular offerings, the Duke of York Hotel hosts party nights with live music, creating a vibrant atmosphere for those looking to have a good time.
The Duke of York Hotel, or "The Duke" as locals call it, is a lively Adelaide pub with plenty of character. It’s a great mix of old-school charm and modern energy, making it a popular spot for after-work drinks, weekend parties, and everything in between. The venue is spacious, with multiple seating areas, a beer garden, and even a dance floor for late-night fun. The atmosphere is always buzzing, especially on Friday and Saturday nights when the DJ turns up the volume. The drinks menu is stacked, with local beers, classic cocktails, and a decent wine list. The bartenders are quick and skilled, even during peak times, and the drink specials make it an affordable night out. The food is classic pub fare with a gourmet twist. The parmis are perfectly cooked, the loaded fries are dangerously addictive, and the pizzas are great for sharing. They also have vegetarian options and gluten-free alternatives, so everyone’s covered. If you’re after a pub with energy, great food, and a party vibe, The Duke is the place to be. It’s the kind of spot where you can start with dinner and end up dancing until late — an Adelaide classic.

I’d love to offer a great review, but … Sign out the front at lunchtime advertised daily specials and live music at might. Four hours later, after arranging to meet friends here, sign was gone, doors were locked. No replacement signage to indicate what’s going on. Treat customers with contempt, they won’t bother coming back.

Had dinner, drinks and a fringe show. Schnitzel night for $10.90 is a bargain but the beef schnitzel looked a little shriveled and was very dry. Can't complain too much for such a cheap price though. Unfortunately I was let down by the service at the bar. Ordered a jug of soft drink with "not too much ice". She put in plenty of ice but only filled it to an inch below the line. When I questioned it she said the ice is meant to make up the difference. This is the first hotel that has ever said that. Postmix is so cheap, why would you be so stingy? $14 for a jug of soft drink is on the higher side too.
Jon H — Google review
Edit, new menu/price hike as of late-2024. No more $10.90 specials. Their schnitzels (Monday and Wednesday) come with chips, salad and sauce, and their salt and pepper squid (Thursdays) taste really good!

Considering I was the only table in the pub that had ordered food, I was surprised how long my food was taking. When it eventually arrived, both burger and chips were lukewarm. Seems like staff forgot to bring it when it was ready. Think I’ll steer clear of this place in future

Live music venue
Event venue
Lion Arts Factory, located on North Terrace in Adelaide, is a historic building with a golden lion atop its roof. It's a premier venue for live music and themed nights, featuring a huge stage with state-of-the-art sound and lights. The outdoor beer garden allows guests to hang out late into the night. The venue hosts various musical acts on most Friday and Saturday nights, as well as some Thursdays and Sundays.
One of my favourite venues, whether it's live music or a taking back Saturday event or even the rare plant or market sale it provides what you need and has a small venue vibe with less squishing
Nicole V — Google review
There was a sort of ante room with a gallery but this is not the gig room. It is adjacent through sliding barn doors. There is a little seating towards the sides but mainly it's a largish flat room with just the stage. Nice room really for a gig, but being tall is a bonus (unfortunately not for those behind you!)
David C — Google review
One of the best venues in Adelaide for heavy music, a large room with a busy bar and a nice little beer garden out the back. I've seen 3 of my favourite bands of all time there and never been disappointed.
Jesse B — Google review
Seen an international DJ last night here and I have to say one of the worst venues I have ever been to. The smell comming from the toilets was horrendous, broken toilet seats, no toilet seats and blocked toilets. Only 5 female toilets for 500 people! Huge line ups. Extremely hot with no ventilation inside. Empty drink cups everywhere all over the tables never saw staff picking them up though the night. Cheap watered down vodka at $11 a drink. There was a horrible noise outside near the toilets which made having a quite moment in the smoking area unberiable too. Thankgod the DJs made up for it with awesome sets. I rarely write reviews and Im not a "karen" but feedback needs to be given. I had been told by others that it was a terrible venue but never would I have guessed it was this bad.

Sam L — Google review
I attended an event held here last night. Music and venue were amazing. Bartenders were horrible, judgmental and gossipy throughout the night to the attendees. To me and others that I overheard. Huge disappointment there. Toilets were beyond disgusting. The floor in the men’s bathroom completely sticky for the amount of piss, drinks 11-15 dollars for watered down vodka carelessly nudged in your direction. The whole outdoor area reeked due to the bathrooms. Music there was probably the only redeemable quality, would not recommend

Bar and Bar staff are great. Sound guy. Not great and I can say that with experience as a sound guy. Slow on the upkeep ruined the mics of Peep Temple for at least 3 songs.
Luke T — Google review
Small and intimate place to enjoy concerts of your artists. The sound system was great, not too loud, and had no distortion. The stage can be seen from any angle without disruption. Furthermore, there is another section in front of the main bar where you can partly see the stage with the provision of tables and sofas. In addition, there is a beer garden, and you can go outside to smoke throughout the performance. The bar has general wines, spirits, and some tap beers. I dont think there is an extensive list, but anything you need in basic level.

The staff here were honestly fantastic, super friendly, attentive, and really on top of things. I have zero complaints about the service. But the food? Absolutely terrible. We ordered pizzas and couldn’t believe what we were served. They were undercooked, floppy, and just straight-up gross. And the kicker? $26 for what was clearly a frozen margarita pizza, the kind you’d grab from Aldi’s Special Buys section. I’m not even joking. Coles or Woolies home brand would’ve been a serious upgrade. So if you’re just after a drink, sure, this place is fine. But if you're even thinking about ordering food, don’t. Try GYG down the road. Their nacho fries are top notch.

AFL Max is a cutting-edge footy skills and entertainment center located in Adelaide, offering an immersive experience for both players and fans of all ages. This state-of-the-art facility combines traditional skill development with the latest technology, providing opportunities to enhance kicking, passing, tackling skills, and more. In addition to football-focused activities, AFL Max offers various interactive zones such as climbing walls, virtual reality games, trampolines, and inflatable sections.
Brilliant! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to have a party for my 5 year old and his friends. The staff were great, the activity zones were excellent and the kids were able to run themselves silly! The party options may seem a little exy, but I assure you they’re well worth the price. All we took was the cake and our party option and host did the rest. Highly recommend!!

Great party venue! Lots to do in all different areas of the venue, staff were friendly and happy to answer any questions, communication was great! Kids had an absolute blast! Would definatley book again and will recommend. Parking is great, affordable pricing and our party host Jett was lovely and did an excellent job of slicing the cake and making sure all the kids got the requested character off the top of the cake! 😂
Lynsey T — Google review
We used to absolutely love coming to AFL Max before the renovations. It had such a great mix of activities the trampoline section, the rock climbing walls with harnesses (the kids loved climbing to the very top and then flying down), the big slide, the kicking space with the interactive screen, and just the extra room to play. It was always a favourite spot for our family. Since the renovations, though, the experience has really changed. With the trampolines, the harnessed climbing walls, and the slide removed, there’s not as much variety anymore. The new climbing wall without harnesses and the air pillar to jump onto just don’t keep the kids entertained in the same way, and the space feels smaller and more crowded. While we appreciate the new padded play area upstairs for babies, our older kids actually found that more fun than the activities designed for them which was surprising. We understand changes happen with renovations, but unfortunately, it doesn’t have the same excitement or range of activities that it once had. The kids now get bored quickly, and it no longer feels like the special place it used to be for us. Sadly, we won’t be coming back anymore, which is really disappointing given how much we used to enjoy AFL Max.

My son had his 8th birthday here yesterday on 29/6! Staff were amazing! Lots of fun activities! Money well spent in my opinion!
Gemma O — Google review
Changes are for the worse, same price yet half the experience, they’ve removed all my sons favourite bits, the rock climbing, web play area gone - trampoline area section off from GA? They’ve added an obstacle course but it’s very basic, seems tailored to 5 and under maybe? No longer appeals to a 7yo unless you want to just kick the ball

At Atlantis Lounge Bar in Adelaide, you can enjoy a cocktail while you watch mermaids perform water ballet. The bar has an underwater theme and offers fine selection of ciders, tap beers, spirits, wines and curated cocktails. It is located in the Light Square in Adelaide.
Attended Atlantis last night for 'In bed by 10'. Venue was awesome, cool indoor space with bar, DJ and stage, and massive outdoor beer garden. We had a great time. Venue was packed and pumping, yet staff were super friendly and efficient and despite queues they moved fast and you got great service. Fill a venue with 95% women and the toilet queues will struggle haha so glad to find the bathrooms down the back of the beer garden, but they were seriously like a sauna! We had a fabulous night, thanks to the Atlantis for putting on a great evening and indeed was at least home by 10pm! Would not hesitate to visit the venue again, great job team!

We had our sons first birthday party here. They allowed out side catering for lunch and we were able to have soft play inside near the fish tank. There is no hire fee or booking fee for the venue that was required. Sophie was amazing to work with with booking the space last minute. We also had an open bar tab to what suited our budget. I wish I found this place earlier.
Courtney B — Google review
Had a 22nd birthday party here over the weekend, food was a little expensive but didn't disappoint us! Had an area for 35 guests booked in the fish tank area, we were given a small seated area that fitted around 10 of us, we were the furthest away from the fish tank. I was responsible for the cake and I was never told they didn't supply plates or napkins to serve. If you are gonna be advertising to have birthday, engagements and other events at the venue it should be made clear to bring your own cake supplies.

My husband and I recently celebrated a joint 60th at Atlantis Lounge in their private function room. We had over 100 guests and the space was perfect. Lots of seating, tables and huge dance floor area. We had a guitarist and the venue even supplied a small stage . The venue had Tv screens that we could have a photo slide show. We arranged platters of food which were all delicious. Sofie and James were a pleasure to deal with and staff on the night were fabulous. All our guests commented on what a fabulous venue Atlantis was. Looking forward to celebrating our 70th there !! Thanks again. Karen and Graeme

Jonas G — Google review
The music at the bar was way too loud, making it hard to have a conversation. On top of that, the songs they played were really tacky — definitely not going back again.
Riley T — Google review
All this drama on the news, just from one silly lady. She says the music is too loud for the fish. Those fish are fine they have been there for years with out any problems. If they were so stressed they would be dead by now but they’re not as they’re completely fine. All the pacu, retails, hybrid shovel noise and bass are just fine as she said on the news there’s some fish that are completely still then they go on and swim that’s what retails do. It’s normal, there’s nothing wrong here, she just waisting her time and the business owners time over nothing. There’s more damage right now in our oceans right now than worrying about a single fish tank. That’s not doing any damage to the fish. Keep up the good work james. Just feel bad for as there’s so many un educated people writing bad reviews as they have no idea about fish.

It is definitely a lot more welcoming with its refurbishment. It looks far more open and less gloomy. The service has also improved with welcoming smiles and thankyous on departure. Who could resist free entry, $3 vodkas between 8-10pm and $5 vodkas 10pm til close! Union entry we had our IDs checked 😆 being over 40, bless you... I was "only 2mths older than security" I haven't been here in nearly 20yrs, it used to be the place to be and it was a beautiful well maintained posh after work club filled with well dressed people where you would start your night. It was disappointing to see the renovation. Instantly extremely filthy, sticky and uninviting floors which would easily ruin good open shoes. Bar staff were extremely friendly, quick you were served straight away and more staff popped out if you were waiting. The DJ was just straight up BAD. They were vaping all night long, jumping and the entire set up was shaking. They handed out the microphone to heavily intoxicated people which just sounded like 2 yr old was screaming karaoke, it was awful.. the mix up and mashes were at an awful beat, which sounded like a 2yrold switching radio stations instead of a live DJ. It sitting at approx 100bpm which is incredibly hard to dance too and sped up to still only a very slow 125bpm (average being 128-132bpm 32 count). I couldn't work out why it sounded so off and realised that the inexperience of the young DJ was trying to mash already mixed songs which ended splicing up to 10 different songs into a set which should only have 4. So instead of having the first running, second bought over the top blend into the next double pairing all shortened and mixed, it was 2 Mixes spliced which were all odd beats overlapping making it EXTREMELY had to dance to and at most you got less than 45sec of dance to the same beat. In the end 3 of the 4 of us just couldn't handle another moment of listening to it. I suggest the young kid to have a good listen to Darley Jefferson and tidy his set up. If it wasn't for the nice bar staff and cheap drinks without a doubt we would have just walked out like the majority of patrons. Most stayed less than 15mins before walking straight back out. The amount of young girls without shoes on was so bad, lucky there was no glass, but I have NEVER been in a club with the dance floor that was mopped atleast 6 times because of the amount of spilt drinks. Purely on staff and specials, I'd go again and try, but if the same DJ was on without changing, we wouldn't stay long and would more than likely head across to the casino instead. Luckily good company saved the night and we were still able to let our hair out and have a good night.

The atmosphere was lively yet intimate, the food was incredible and the cocktails were next-level. They were super accommodating with our group and made sure everything ran smoothly. My best friend had the best time, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Organising the event was super easy and stress free. Rachel the events coordinator was on the ball and responded to emails super quick! Jarrod the bar manager was very accommodating, flexible and was willing to go with the flow of the night. I'm so keen to go back just for a couple of drinks and some arancini balls (the 4 cheese ones were AMAZING). I don't drink very often either but ended up having 3 Flamingo Colada cocktails! After booking the venue months in advance for 7pm, we arrived and they firstly said we were supposed to be in at 9:30 and later said they had us booked for another weekend, despite us having the booking confirmation. They did the bare minimum to pull some tables together for us, but then proceeded to be incredibly rude for the remainder of our stay. Two staff stood near our table the entire time, whispering, staring and complaining about us. They threatened to kick us out because we had a large group which threatened their outdoor liquor license, despite their error and the fact we had booked inside. Further to this, they blamed us for the mistake and told every potential customer that came by that ‘we rocked up when we were supposed to’, despite us having our booking confirmation. Although bar staff were lovely, we will not be returning to this venue and encourage you to also take your business elsewhere also.

Staff booked us at the wrong time and then blamed us for the error. They moved us outside and then threatened to kick us out for having more people than we requested which was untrue. We further overheard staff complain about us to other costumers stating that it was our fault for coming at the wrong time and was the reason that they couldn’t seat other costumers. One of the female managers was also very passive aggressive towards our party. Will not be coming again. Sadly bar staff were lovely.

Funky place to catch up with friends for a drink! Loving the colours and walls of Pink Flamingos, booth seating or bar stools. The food menu is limited but enough to enjoy with the great gins & rum drinks on offer. Staff are always happy and flamboyant!

Ancient World is a hidden gem located in the heart of Adelaide, tucked away down a dark alleyway off Hindley Street. This intimate and curated venue hosts a thriving and progressive community, featuring local musicians, drag shows, and punk performances known for their wild energy. The space has a zero-tolerance policy for antisocial behavior and offers an underground music experience across various genres.
Super friendly place. Great live venue. Definitely worth a visit.

Worst venue I’ve ever been in Adelaide! We organised a Brazilian party and the staff which was very incompetent sold tickets at the door without checking with the promotor of the party! long short story, we ended up staying outside, under the rain, because they sold too many tickets and people that had tickets couldn’t get in! I don’t recommend this place not even for my enemy :)

One of the best bars/clubs in Adelaide. Quirky to the max in the best possible way, great events, friendly staff, affordable drinks, great vibes and crowds always.
Dennis A — Google review
Ancient world is by far one of the best clubs in Adelaide. If you are a fan of electronic music, love to dance, and want to support local djs and producers, this is the place to be. The music genres at Ancient World can be quite diverse, so I recommend have a look at the socials ahead of time. It generally all falls under the electronic umbrella, but this is incredibly broad, and each night is always different. If you find a night with music that you love, there is no better atmosphere in Adelaide. The crowd is perfect. Perfect. And the staff, perfect. Everyone is friendly, everyone is respectful, everyone is unapologetically themselves, and everyone is there for a good time. The dance floor on a good night is one of the, if not the best in Adelaide. It's very hard to describe, but the best I can do is that nothing and nobody feels performative here. Everyone is just there to have a good time, and everyone is there for their love of the music and the community. Some people might find the vibe a little 'out there' compared to the other clubs for electronic music in Adelaide. I would describe it as more of an alternative vibe, with strong queer energy as well. Whether that's your vibe is up to you. All in all, would recommend to anyone who hasn't been. It's places like this that make it hard to believe people say Adelaide doesn't have a good music scene.

Be careful standing too close to people of another group when the RSA Marshalls won’t get rid of loud people. Guy was yelling up at the stage and the guy in the skirt kicked my group out who had nothing to do with the other group Weirdddd

Super cozy amazing nightlife spot run by local artists! A variety of fantastic music ranging from DJs to live bands every week, with karaoke on Wednesdays. You'll always hear music here that you won't get to hear in the more mainstream clubs on Hindley, check out their Facebook page to see what's on if you're curious. Friendly and warm staff who are passionate about the venue and cultivating a safe space for all. Fireplace, chess board and live microscope for your enjoyment. LGBTIQA+ friendly. 🏳️‍🌈 Vibrant and unique art throughout the venue. Features a beer garden on ground level and the main bar/dancefloor space is underground. The vibes at Ancient World are unmatched! It's noice, it's different, its unusual. 🤩

Interesting little underground bar and venue. Heading down Conrad Lane to get there feels like you're being sent into an ambush, but you're not! It's lovely to find a friendly alternative place tucked away in the heart of the city. A friend who works in the city plans to make it her regular!

HQ Complex is a nightclub where you can enjoy different events and programs. It has a really great vibe, and the staff are very friendly.
Saw the Dropkick Murphys here last December. Loved the concert & venue. Awesome place for a band, sound was good & drink prices were reasonable too. Couldn't see myself here on club nights but would come again to see another band. ***edit: obviously you can't post portrait photos. Sorry folks. 😖

I do t go there for the night club experience, but for the band's they get. I enjoy it...easy to move it around as they don't over pack the venue. Security I've found to be doing their job. Looking after people. Bring on the next gig!!

Across the 5 floors, the $10 before 10pm or $20 after entry is worth every cent. Great music and djs and fantastic lighting!! Love this place! ()

Went there for a Friday lunch with my work colleagues (14 of us). Reasonably busy for a Friday lunch but there were free tables everywhere - but only 1 person on the bar, 1 at the coffee bar, 1 or 2 on the floor; it was an absolute mishmash. We were just told that long table was ours, after waiting 5 minutes. We never had any table service; we went and ordered at the bar as I assumed you got table service because another table had someone at their table 15 minutes later. Anyway! Food was average at best. Lamb + pumpkin salad was meant to be spicy - there was no spice and the meat was all fatty. Dressing was so/so. Saving grace: arancini balls. They're great!

Me and my friends paid $20/head to go into a dead club on a Saturday. Asked for a refund after being inside for all of 5mins and after some very confused looks from the staff got told "this is a club....go on Facebook to get that". There are many nicer places to go that won't charge for a dead venue......make the smart decision people.

Wow it was so quiet in here at 6pm. What a beautiful vibe however. Waitress was helpful and informative. My partner had beef nachos and I had vegetarian. Best nachos I've ever had in over 40 years, ate the lot which i have never done. Go check it out. Close to Rundle Mall. You won't be disappointed.

Went here for a colleagues final day at work, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We ate at lunchtime, and everyone was happy with the meal they received. Pricing wasn't at a point that you would attend on any regular day, but for this kind of occasion it was great.

Plain Jane Adelaide is a trendy spot for young adults looking for unique drinking spots. The bar offers various areas including an outdoor space, front bar, and an upstairs area with a dance floor. While the cocktails are generally well-received, some patrons have experienced inconsistencies in their drinks. The atmosphere is lively with good music and a cool vibe, but there have been mixed reviews about the service speed. Overall, it's recommended for those who enjoy dressing up and experiencing the nightlife in this part of town.
Great place. I left my jacket there one night and they were very good about handing it back the following week.

Nice vibe with cocktails and drinks!!! The owner/ manager was friendly but others were quiet…. Slow service as well. Seemed like there was a group and one small pizza oven wasn’t coping with many orders on Saturday night. Perhaps that’s what they are trying to do - we drank much more than usual, while waiting our food comes out. The woodfire oven makes their pizza nice but the dough wasn’t the best, too chewy for me. Also they were making pizza on the street without facilities for the pizza maker to wash their hands…. So I’m not sure how it would work… hopefully they change gloves often. I’d go back for drink perhaps! Just nice vibe and good time.
J P — Google review
Absolutely disgraceful. On Saturday night I came to plain Jane with a group of five friends. We waited over an hour in line to be let upstairs to go onto the main dance floor. The security guard was refusing to let anyone in the general line to be let up stairs and when I asked him twice how long the wait will be, he told me he didn’t know and was extremely rude and dismissive. Many people came down stairs so there definitely was room for us to go up and yet he still did not let anyone for the general line go up. He did however let anyone with a wristband or girls he liked up stairs (without a wristband). This was completely unfair as we had waited so long and had wasted majority of our night waiting. I have been to plain Jane many times before and I am honestly disgusted with what i experienced Saturday night. Other people in the line were equally disappointed and confused and I hope you’ve lost heaps of customers as a result. There was no reason why we had to wait as long as we did and I hope for future customers you at least give them the courtesy and tell them that people with wristbands will be prioritised over them so they don’t have to waste their time. Oh and it’s nice to see as well the security guards all letting in underage girls and flirting with them, it’s reassuring to see them really focused on their job and to reiterate the fact that they are all creeps, looks amazing for business. Please do better for future customers.

Went for drinks on a Friday night and I must say, the DJ was killing it. All musics were nicely done making us all dance like there is no tomorrow. The drinks were fine, I ordered the special cocktail (as per picture) but the bartender (I assume he's new) made it way too bland - it tasted like ice water. Tonic was a bit off as well on a G&T. Good overall, would come back for the dance floor.

Karl and I had our wedding at Al Ru Farm on the 8th of November 2024. It truly was a magical day and could not have asked for a more beautiful venue. Karl and I booked in the venue over a year and a half before our date, and one of the reasons we chose it was because of Ruth. Her passion for the garden and property was obvious, and we just loved her and Allan’s story. She made us feel welcome and gave us tips to make our day even more beautiful. As wedding venues go we also thought the price was very reasonable, loved we could store our own alcohol and drinks, and the caterer and food was absolutely fantastic! Cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you to the whole team at Al Ru for making our day an unforgettable one!

Cherry has quickly become a beloved fixture in Adelaide's vibrant nightlife scene since its debut a few years ago. This lively venue is the go-to destination for local DJs and party enthusiasts eager to dance the night away to an eclectic mix of pop, house, rap, and more. Open late on Thursday through Saturday nights, Cherry offers an inviting atmosphere that draws in crowds looking for fun and excitement. The allure of Cherry is undeniable; it captivates visitors much like a moth drawn to a flame.
Yeh nah I was attracted to Cherri’s like a mosquito is to white light. Something about the colour red and a bar named Cherry triggered something deep in my carnal nature. I hovered around the building like a bear sniffing out porridge. There was no free meal or offer of furniture and bedding but at 7pm I was stalking the front door like Yogi bear around a picnic, but it was locked. The photos on Google maps gave me the impression it was a wholesome venue with sensual lighting and a welcoming bar service. A good place for an aspiring cowboy entrepreneur to sharpen his two step skills and display some old fashioned country charm. Shotgun Willy’s was packed with Daisy Dukes having a hoedown, so I needed an alternative barn to get my shin dig on, but being closed I gave up and went back to my room at The Grand Chancellor. The most interesting discoveries happen on your way to KFC for a six piece feed, and that’s exactly what happened later when I left my hotel room craving the Kernel’s secret recipe. I passed security standing at the front door of Cherry’s at 9:30pm and after enquiring, discovered it’s not a 24hr gentleman’s club but just an ordinary 3 star night club with alluring lighting and a juicy name. It was late and I was hungry, so I crossed the road and satisfied my craving for bird and as expected, it was finger licking good. Feeling generous and wanting the +67 Google review points, I decided to give it 5 stars based purely on aesthetic appeal.

Terrible experience – extremely rude staff and security I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a bar. The security and staff were shockingly rude and unprofessional. Instead of creating a safe and welcoming environment, they acted with aggression, arrogance, and complete disrespect toward customers. I was treated with zero courtesy, and when I tried to calmly address the situation, I was met with dismissive and hostile behavior. It’s absolutely unacceptable for any establishment to allow this kind of attitude from its employees. I left feeling angry and disrespected. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place if you expect to be treated like a human being.

Waited for 40minutes to be told not tonight denied entry no reason why Second time I tried to go here denied entry again for tattoo sleeves showing 3rd time denied entry for small neck tattoo I have for my sister that passed away. I don’t know if it’s discrimination as a friend had half slave tattoo showing and was able to get in. But also door girl and guards were absolutely rude!!!! I would not recommend anyone to go here at all!

This is why aussies love to party in bali. Everyone is nice and clear. No bs waiting for 30 mins just to get in. “I can’t let you in” she said to my friend. “Why?” I said “Dresscode” “What? what’s wrong?” “Doesn’t matter. Read the list” What kind of answer is that? Gotta ask a security guard where I could read the policy for dress code and he asked me if the girl at the front refused my friend for entry. And he told me to look it up at the website. Guess I still prefer partying back home in bali. Maybe I’m not used to this Australian “hospitality” Like we were staying at a nearby hotel and could have changed if she would’ve just let us know what’s wrong with what we’re wearing.

You can't even throw up in the toilet anymore without security banging on the door and saying "get out" with no other explanation. It's a nightclub. The security is extremely rude and the short bald guy literally does everything EXCEPT his job.

The nightclub refused to let me in just because I had a braid. It felt unfair and honestly discriminatory. A hairstyle shouldn’t determine whether you’re welcome or not.

Damn - paid $25 to get in, only to be kicked out for being "too drunk" mind you, as a 20-year-old woman ALONE as I couldn't find my friends and was being touched up by some random dude. Despite being labelled "too drunk" the security guards were more than happy to leave me inebriated and alone in an alley way without checking if I had someone or somewhere to go to. My safety was the absolute LEAST of their concerns.

No boat license is required, only a car license, and guests are welcome to bring their own food (although drinks must be purchased onsite). Complimentary amenities include a Bluetooth speaker and esky.
My friends and I had a delightful experience hiring a buoy during a sunny weekend afternoon here. The booking and arrangements were effortlessly handled, contributing to a seamless visit. We opted for the Cheese & Meat platter, which, while tastefully presented and flavorful, could have been more generous in portion size. The beverages, on the other hand, could have been colder, requiring us to place them in an ice box for a period to achieve the desired chill. The staff exhibited a commendable level of friendliness and attentiveness throughout our visit. Overall, all good and we were happy with the time spent.

This was a fun, relaxing experience on a beautiful day. The male attendant was perky and happy. Our electric motor died once on us and it had to be replaced but was fast and not too much of an inconvenience. We cooked our food but id recommend bringing or ordering platter food as cooking took too much time. I'd definitely do it again.
Lena B — Google review
We brought our own food for BBQ, had a great afternoon and experience.
Christy S — Google review
We celebrated my husband’s birthday on a boat, and while the experience had its enjoyable moments, there were a few issues that made it less than ideal. First, we originally booked for 4:00 PM, but just an hour before departure, we received a call asking us to either cancel or reschedule for 7:00 PM. This was quite inconvenient, as we had to contact all our friends to inform them of the last-minute change. Fortunately, they were all able to adjust their plans. During the trip, we encountered a problem with the motor, which nearly caused us to get soaked by a nearby waterfall. Additionally, the beverages we had purchased were placed too deep inside the fridge, making them difficult to find, so we weren’t able to enjoy them. For those considering renting a boat, here are a few things to keep in mind: Daytime trips are better. At night, visibility is very limited—while the city lights are beautiful, you miss out on the sunset and scenic views. Opt for a platter instead of a BBQ. Cooking takes up too much time, which means you end up focusing more on preparing food than enjoying the experience. Having two drivers is ideal. If there’s only one, they have to stay focused on navigating the boat and can’t fully engage with everyone. Bring your own BBQ utensils and kitchen towels. The boat didn’t provide enough, so it’s best to come prepared. Overall, while we had a nice time, better organization and amenities would have made the experience much smoother.

What a bloody brilliant time! Hiring a BBQ Buoy is an absolute ripper of an idea. Grilling your own feed on the river is just the best. So much fun with your mates. A true blue Aussie experience!
Amilcare A — Google review
Staff were friendly and gave full briefing on how to control the bby buoy. You can chug up and down the most scenic parts of the river and see iconic sights. Drinks must be pre-oredered and purchased beforehand. We had our own bbq on the boat but it took a while to fire up and cook the food (it’s a ‘bug’ but we struggled with getting decent gas supply). You can also order platters if preferred. You get over two hours on the river - which is ample time. You do need a dedicated driver who is prepared to captain the boat the whole time and must not exceed alcohol limit (driving licence required). There are fines for negligent behaviour. All up an enjoyable experience and definitely worth doing if just to view the best scenic parts of the main river section in Adelaide.
YAdelaide G — Google review
Terrible attitude from the guy who works there (runs through the operating procedure). The motor on our bouy had a fuel issue, causing the motor to constantly cut out. We had to phone the operator 3 times to come out the 100mtrs to look at the motor. He was rude, giving excuses each time and implying there wasn't an issue with the motor. We gave up after my husband had to pull start it for the 25th time and headed in early. No apology, no offer of compensation, he just walked away. When we told him the whole experience was terrible (mainly due to his poor customer service), he showed his arrogant nature and said, "How do you think my day has been", (needing to come out to fix the motor). I wish I had read all the other bad reviews about the same motor issues and this guy attutude beforehand.

Some of the sweetest tunes to be found in Adelaide. I really like the vibe here. However... while friendly, I think the staff need to be managed better. Filthiest most absolutely revolting place I’ve ever bothered to visit. Not only are they the dirtiest and most putrid sticky floors & absolutely disgusting lack of any sanitary glasses or even have ability to walk without a shoe being permanently stuck to floor but the bar staff are absolutely awful! Not only did one of the worst customer service treatment mortify me but being intimidated & aggressively stood over and to have a water and Coke Zero confiscated AFTER paying for it is baffling. Even after contacting the venue to obtain a refund for being ripped off by the bartender they still haven’t returned my money and unfortunately am now contacting liquor licensing commission for their abject lack of capacity to act in safe and sensible manner or any kind of honest way. Never have I seen such confusing and abject contempt of the legislature regarding liquor service and alcohol laws and sheer ignorance of the health and safety of the public. It’s a putrid pathetic excuse for a venue and pure waste of money. Seriously save your money because it’s not worth the washed up has been old crusty div to begin with and a sweaty Smokey crusty hole which has to be so easily fixed by leaving that place to rot with the abject lack of integrity of their staff and cleanliness issues!

Since i saw all the european and american artist this club brought to adelaide i have to say that you guys here need to be more appreciative cause this is an elite selection of music artists, the crowd was too small the other day i guess adelaide people dont have elite taste. Club looks nice with funny small balls pool tables. 8bucks for gin and tonic not so bad, i guess other prices are ok too. The only thing is the sound, its kinda bad, they have funktion one but it is either too old and dont produce good sound anymore or somebody need to adjust the amp.

My partner and I got married at Chateau Apollo in March 2023 and could not recommend it more! The place was recommended by a friend and it quickly became our first choice after looking at some other options. We were so impressed with everything at Chateau - from the initial contact and planning all the big & small details through to the generous tasting menu (wow - so much food!), coordinating with the furniture hire company to the running of the actual event. They were so flexible about how we wanted the event to be run, but organised and experienced enough to guide us when we needed it. It was fantastic having a space reserved at Roxie's next door for canapes and drinks during the break between the ceremony and reception. Jess, Tim, Ebony, Matilda and the rest of the team were just perfect. They even had a designated 'dietary requirement' staff member on the night who was making sure all of our guests with dietaries knew what they could and couldn't eat. She came up to me partway through the night to clarify the ingredients of the cake (made by my cousin) and knew by name which of our guests wouldn't be able to eat it. I was blown away. Special mention about Jess, the event manager, who went above and beyond in helping us organise everything for the wedding. She was great in guiding us on the timing of the afternoon and night (being newbies to this whole wedding thing, we really appreciated her help) and was flexible, kind, funny and patient as we worked through everything together. A lot of our communication was via email because we live interstate, but it couldn't have been easier. Jess unfortunately wasn't able to be there for the night itself but it still ran smoothly because it's such a great team. We were excited about getting married before it happened, but honestly doing it at Chateau Apollo made it even more special. Chateau exceeded all of our expectations - perfect vibe, great communication, delicious food, excellent wine and drinks list, lovely staff, and super reasonable pricing to top it off.

We recently had our wedding at Chateau Apollo and could not recommend this venue more. It was so beautiful and rustic, with minimal decorations required as the space itself is just so gorgeous. Jess and Ebony were our event managers and they both did such an incredible job. We had a cocktail style reception and the food was to die for! We highly recommend this venue for any event, especially your wedding 🤍

My husband and I recently Got Married Here over the Long weekend in June, Could not be more Pleased and Amazed at How Much the Venue Managers (Tim, Naomi and Kelly) and Staff both Front and Back of house went above and beyond, to bring together our Vision and Dream wedding. The communication, care and support from all the Staff is and was outstanding, The Food and Beverages served was exactly what we had arranged and wanted, to perfection. Can not Appreciate and praise enough for all that they Did for us, Setting up and packing down for us. The Venue is definetly somewhere i will and do recommend for anyone wanting to have any sort of function here. Thankyou so much for all that your Amazing Team did for us.

We recently had our wedding reception at Chateau Apollo and it was incredible! The food, the venue and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Jess, the venue manager, was so easy to work with. She has such a great energy and vibe, and made us feel so special from the moment we first met right to the very end. We will treasure our night here for the rest of our lives!

Convenient space for cycling specialists during the TDU. This year Black Sheep Cycling and SpecializedAU again share the space and host popular events. Tuesday's Reunion Ride was a sell out - well organised and hosted. Ride, check out the kit, including new releases then watch the racing on the big screen while enjoying a drink from Roxies

Chateau Apollo was amazing! We recently had our wedding there and it went perfectly. Jess and Ebony were responsive, solved all of our problems and went above and beyond making sure our day went exactly how we wanted it. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how good the food was and how much there was! It was a really great night and I would recommend Chateau Apollo for any function.

Wakanda Place Multicultural Bar is a vibrant haven that immerses visitors in the rich tapestry of African culture. This colorful venue, adorned with eclectic patterns and textures, creates an inviting atmosphere for friends and adventurers alike. Music pulses through its heart, featuring local DJs spinning everything from RnB to jazz and EDM. The bar often buzzes with energy, especially on weekends after midnight when it becomes a popular spot for dancing.
Cosy venue with friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff. Great vibes. Favourite place to go dancing on a Saturday night. The Jollof Rice and Chicken Suya are delicious, as is the Lemongrass Chicken. Nice and spicy.

I came here on a Sunday night, the food was nice. Just last of bread and rice, it was 20 dollars I didn’t think it lived upto my expectations. Would like to try other things. How ever most the fools was in a warm bay marine not made fresh. So when they served it was cold. I would love to have more spicy options there. There not open every night for food!

I attended the Speak-Hear open mike poetry evening on the first Tuesday night of the month (July). The venue is beautiful with its African influences, the customer service was friendly and on point. No stars on the food as I didnt eat here.

Only went in for a beer, great vibe, cool little bar. Cheap beers too. Afro beats on a Sunday arvo with live Dj's Really worth a visit for a great little place with character.

Worth a visit, nice African vibe. Usually packed after 12am Friday and Saturday If you are lucky that the kitchen is open (not every day), definitely should try those African dishes. I love the jollof rice with oxtail and chicken. I think this is one of not many places serving African cuisine in the CBD.

Wine bar
Bar Riot is a stylish new addition to Gilbert Street, serving as the perfect local spot for wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This sleek venue features an impressive selection of South Australian wines alongside unique offerings from distant vineyards. Guests can indulge in a delightful array of South American and Catalan small plates, including mouthwatering oysters with tomato consomme, Sobrassada on sourdough, and pan-fried prawns seasoned with paprika and garlic.
Work function at @riot_bar: beautiful venue, amazing food, great drink options, and top notch and attentive service. Whether you're looking for just drinks, or an amazing meal, or a function, then you should consider coming here ☺️☺️☺️. . Picada plate - cured meats, cheeses, and pickles: fantastic way to start a meal! Super yummy selection of nibbles ☺️☺️. . Warmed marinated olives: even though I'm not a big fan of olives, these were pretty nice! . Gazander oysters: so fresh and delicious with a tangy dressing 😍😍. . Pan Catalan: toasted sourdough with tomato and garlic - so good! . Jamon iberico: can't go wrong with jamon 😋😋. . Harissa kingfish skewers: the kingfish was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin, and that Harissa was amazing 😍😍. So good! . 350g Kerwee porterhouse steak with pine mushroom butter: this is hands down one of the best steak I have ever had! Super juicy and tender, and almost melts in your mouth 😍😍. The pine mushrooms on top were divine 😍😍. . Side dishes: - Triple cooked potatoes: these are absolutely fantastic! So crispy and delicious 🤤🤤😋😋. - Seasonal leaves . Basque cheesecake: perfect way to end the meal! The cheesecake was rich and creamy, and not too sweet. Absolute perfection 😍😍. . Lemon and lychee spritz: such a yummy drink!

Hard pressed to find somewhere to eat on a Monday night? This is a great find! The challenge is not ordering everything on the menu - it all sounded delicious. Thankfully we were a group of 5, so were able to order generously. And we were not disappointed! Great venue, great service, great wine, great food! I can't wait to return.
The D — Google review
This was the top dining experience of my trip to Australia on this ocassion. From the moment one steps inside this pastel coloured clean lined Scandi interior, with open kitchen at the end, one feels welcome. Service, atmosphere, knowledge of staff of the dishes, calibrated engagement level with diners - spot on. Then there is the food - innovative, clever, and even more better known dishes (eg zuccini flowers with fabulous vegan lemon mousse), beautifully executed. Pork head croquettes paired up with green salad (yellow pickled and fresh green long beans, greens) - divine! Beef tongue skewes with grilled pineapple - something that one would not only not cook at home, but not find at many restaurants these days. That was a thing of beauty and an explosion of flavour! Grilled sardines with jamon -comfort food on the plate. Beautiful stone fruit tart to finish. Bar Riot carries a fab sharing and caring menu, with great wines by the glass selection. I heartily recommend this fabulous, vivid new addition to the Adelaide dining scene.

Such a lovely place. Food is amazing! So far I’ve tried the steak sandwich and it was very delicious for its price! I would definitely go back and try out some of the other food in the menu 🩵🩵🩵 Crew were also very friendly! Place is spacious for large group and outdoor sitting available for those who have dogs/cats. Beside this bar/pub is a cosy cafe/florist (which is also deserves some recognition)!

Been here twice now and it's been fantastic both times. Really thoughtful and creative menu that matches really well with the types of wine Riot makes. Vegan options are fantastic, we were treated to so many delicious options. The summer greens tart, grilled snow pea salad and roasted carrots are essentials. And don't forget the yellow stone-fruit tart - it might be the best dessert I've ever eaten! The flavours and textures all compliment each other so well, it is clear there was much care put into designing this menu. The lemon spritz is amazing also, the fresh rosemary is such a nice touch! As well as the wonderful food and drink, the atmosphere and team are lovely. Love the design of the interior and the open kitchen where you can watch the cooks work their magic. Service is outstanding, such thoughtful staff that want to give you the best experience possible. (Thank you Jake for making us feel extra special). Very worth the visit if you want an easy going meal and some lovely wine to match (especially fellow vegans, you will feel right at home).

Catholic church
St. Patrick's Church in Adelaide is a historic Roman Catholic church that has been an integral part of the city since 1914, replacing the original St. Patrick's church, which was Adelaide's first Catholic Church. This place of worship also served as a school at one point. The church offers a beautiful and memorable setting for weddings, with younger Catholic priests who can tailor ceremonies to add a modern twist.
We feel incredibly blessed to be part of St. Patrick’s Church in Adelaide — a truly welcoming and faith-filled Catholic community. This Sunday’s Crowning of Our Lady of Fátima was an unforgettable moment of reverence and grace. From the beautifully prepared liturgy to the angelic voices of the children’s choir, everything reflected a deep sense of devotion and love for Our Blessed Mother. Special thanks to the parish team, volunteers, and families who made this celebration possible. The care, organization, and warmth we experienced here remind us of what it means to live and grow in faith as one united family. If you are looking for a place to deepen your Catholic faith in Adelaide, we wholeheartedly recommend St. Patrick’s Church. #CatholicChurch #StPatricksAdelaide #FaithCommunity #OurLadyOfFatima #GratefulHeart #CatholicFamily #AdelaideChurches #CrowningOfMary

Experience avery disrespectful driver who parked his car in between two lanes. An old lady begged him to park his car nicely so she could also park . But instead she ignored the lady and walked away. This was so annoying experience to see happening in respected place of worship.

Nevermind is a hidden gem located behind Leigh Street Luggage in Adelaide. This casual bar offers an impressive selection of drinks, including beer, wine, and some of the city's best cocktails. The knowledgeable staff provides personalized recommendations and serves up off-menu specialties for a unique experience. Open late on weekends, it's the perfect spot to enjoy well-made cocktails and dance to music from various DJs until the early hours.
Nice vibe, nice bar Staff were lovely and there’s a selection of vinyl and music unique to the bar. Initially I was confused of the lighting but realised it adds to the atmosphere and uniqueness to the bar. Bartender was really nice and suggested a drink that I’d like as I am not really a drinker and was confused of what drink I’d best like according to my liking Will be back!

To find Nevermind you will need to find the alley, look past the bins and see whether the light is showing red for closed or green for open. Really nice vibe and a great cocktail list. Love the huge mural on the wall.

This bar is incredible, would certainly recommend. All of the staff here are wonderful, special shout-out to Harry, Phoebe, Esha and Sho. Each of them took the time to explain the making of the drinks, took time to make personalised drinks based off of your taste and had plenty of time for personal conversations. Will definitely be back!
Tayla S — Google review
Bar amazing. Cool place! Owner was so attentive! Thumbs up for him! The asian bartender was really nice but the blondie just charged me $18.00 for a beer! I will believe she made a mistake, but if I wasn’t sober, I’d have paid that! Not nice! It’s important to pay attention or I’ll believe that was on purpose and see my bank account on next day and don’t come back!

This place absolutely amazing, the people are so gorgeous and wonderful and make such fantastic drinks. My new go to place. Harry amazing, the most wonderful soul. Fibi the most beautiful bartender. Esha such a cutie ! Love her vibe. Sho best owner and such a wonderful smile. BEST VIBE. Love love love

Had such a good night I had to write something! NeverMind is kept tucked away within the Leigh Street Baggage front. From the moment we came in, our bartender Harry was witty and just an easy conversation all round. He would give us personalised recommendations and on top of the menu drinks, we really enjoyed his “off the menu” specialties, including the smooth kimchi cocktail to my surprise. Definitely try the ‘Paper Plane’, that hits

Night club
Kandy Shop Nightclub is a vibrant and energetic nightlife spot located in the heart of the city. It offers an electric atmosphere with pulsating music, dazzling lights, and a lively crowd. The club features top-notch DJs spinning a mix of hip-hop, electronic, and popular dance tunes to keep the party going all night long. With its stylish decor and spacious dance floor, Kandy Shop Nightclub provides an unforgettable experience for locals and tourists alike.
Tucked away behind a secret door within a popular kareoke bar on Hindley St, this lil venue delivers on its promises. Decked out with eye catching decor, it has a feature wall of candy coloured balls in tubes stretching floor to ceiling behind the stage. Musically you can expect a high standard of skill in the latest hit hip hop, RnB, Reggaeton and party bangers. It's a cosy size and when COVID restrictions permit, it totally pops off like a huge screaming mosh pit. Recommend it for troublemakers who want to tie one on, especially if hip hop is your jam.

Good place, good vibe. The DJ started with alternaying 1 hindi and 1 punjabi songs, later he was only playing punjabi songs. we had to leave because we lost interest and got bored of music which we can't relate.

Worst DJ on Saturday night. Looks like we are just. The songs guy played looks like playing on random restaurant. Worst ever club DJ i have seen so far. Put some Punjabi music in your DJ.

Worst bar/nightclub in Adelaide, got in for a supposed drink promo, they didn't respect what was on the voucher and forced our group to consume what the bar tender at the moment thought was right, after getting the entrance money they invited us to leave if we didnt like how the empty place that was supposed to be the club was like, ZERO customer service and ZERO flexibility at all times, don't come to this place, also awful DJs.

Worst club ever the venue is too small it is very unhygienic the floor is dirty and sticky from all the alcohol that has been spilled it is also very unsafe in my opinion there is lots of troublemakers the staff and security are poorly trained it is unprofessional the owner should be embarrassed hopefully this place gets shut down just a cheap tacky version of bump and grind in Adelaide drinks are way overpriced also

Janet’s J — Google review
First time here to see some bands, didn't try the restatement. Drinks well priced, service a bit slow. Wall/ venue lighting is cool and unusual First band, The Tullamarines, a great set, plenty of energy, but the sound from the mixing desk was, unfortunately, very poor. The music in between the bands was terrible, after an energetic set you'd expect that fill music to continue, or build the energy, but no, very relaxed, ambient trance type stuff was played, which completely killed the atmosphere. Second band, sound quality was terrible, another energetic set from the band Same atmosphere killing music in between bands. Didn't stay for the third band. This place could be an excellent music venue, but desperately needs someone who knows what they're doing on the sound desk.
