Morialta Conservation Park, located just a short distance from Adelaide CBD, offers a rugged and untapped wilderness experience with woodlands, gorges, and seasonal waterfalls. The park's history dates back to the 1800s when it was used for primary production activities. Today, visitors can explore hiking trails that lead to stunning cliffs and seasonal waterfalls such as Morialta Falls.
Another one of my favourite conservation parks in Adelaide. Love coming here during the school holidays and getting my son off the Nintendo. Many different walking trails to choose from and they all lead to stunning views and wildlife.
Tania — Google review
Definitely a park that you should trek during your weekends or whenever you have free time. Most of the trails are doable without a walking stick. Very tranquil and full of wild animals including kaolas, rabbits and birds
Nguyen M — Google review
I visited Morialta Conservation Park and it was such a refreshing experience. What I loved most was how close it is to Adelaide — yet as soon as you step onto the trails, you feel completely surrounded by nature. The waterfalls were beautiful, especially First Falls, and I really enjoyed the sound of the water as I walked along the creek. The walking tracks are well-maintained and suitable for different fitness levels. I took the First Falls walk which was quite easy and relaxing — perfect for a gentle stroll. I spotted a few koalas sleeping in the gum trees, which was a highlight for me. The Mukanthi Nature Play Space is fantastic if you’re visiting with kids. It’s thoughtfully designed and blends really well with the bush setting. I loved seeing families enjoying picnics and children exploring the natural play areas. One thing to note is that parking can be tricky if you come on a busy weekend — it’s best to arrive early. Also, I’d recommend bringing plenty of water and your own snacks because there aren’t any cafés or shops inside the park. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Morialta Conservation Park to anyone looking for an easy day out in nature. Whether you want to hike, spot wildlife, or just relax near the waterfalls, it’s a beautiful spot to unwind and reconnect with the outdoors.
Natali N — Google review
A hiking trail for all! Whatever level you are. Morialta has trails from beginners to advanced depending on what you choose. Usually at the start of the hikes is a man who also sells coffee and light snacks if you want a little pick me up at any point. Some of the trails are quite steep and would be a bit heavy on the legs. Great family friendly spot though
A M — Google review
Beautiful walk! The Morialta Loop via First and Second Falls is a great mix of forest, cliffs, and waterfalls. The views are amazing, especially after some rain — though it does get a bit muddy then. The trail’s in good shape overall, not too steep on the ups or downs, and easy to enjoy at a steady pace. A solid choice for a relaxed hike with rewarding scenery close to the city.
Claire G — Google review
A good picnic spot on sunny days. Seperate barbecue places are available to enhance family time
Amazing U — Google review
Great spot to visit. Has easy and medium level style hikes. Plenty of parking located lower down in the park. For the more difficult hikes you can get great rolling views of the valley and waterfall. Definitely recommended. If you want to see more photos and tips, feel free to check out my Instagram → @6yearsinjapan

Always a great walk. Amazing scenery. We've seen Koalas, Kangaroos, Echidnas, Hoping mice, Superb Blue wrens, Yellow tail Black Cockatoos etc etc, on our numerous visits.

Our family loves this park! It has wide open spaces, beautiful plants and trees, lots of shade, bbqs for use, plenty of seating, a quaint little cafe and an accessible playground that our son LOVES! Big ticks for being inclusive, free and fun!

Beautiful park with family-friendly space. Playgrounds, walking & cycling paths, picnic & BBQ facilities, plus a cafe nearby. Very clean, peaceful, and easy to spend a few hours relaxing.
Aaron P — Google review
Located on the northwest side of the River Torrens, Bonython Park is a 17-hectare park bordering Port Road. Bike paths surround this large campus. Spacious children's playground with modern and amazing equipment. An ideal place for a picnic during the day with outdoor grills, tables, and chairs with the roof. Drinking water is available from the tap. Public restrooms are available. Ample parking. Highly recommended.
Hong N — Google review
Nice park with running & bike track. Creek & small water spots are nice to see. Lots of space around. Could do with some BBQ’s / BBQ areas.
Phuket, T — Google review
Plenty of parking, toilet facilities, kids playground, walking/cycling tracks and lots and lots of open space to relax. Dog friendly park (on lead for the most part) as well as an off lead dog park at a short walk. A couple of cafes are also available.. one next to the golf course if you keep walking to the linear park trail.
A N — Google review
Everywhere you look, is picture perfect. Stunning surrounds, walks, trails, playground, toilet, plentiful areas for picnics and all out amazing. If you haven't ventured here, put it in your bucket list. So much to see. Loads of parking. be careful not to park along the parklands, you'll be fined! My girls love the bunyip trail...
Ruby T — Google review
Fun for the whole family, has been there many years some things are the same and the equipment was nice, able to be used by children and adults and grand children. Wide open green grass spaces for frisbee, dogs, ball games. Walk by the river or over the river on the train bridge which has a safe pedestrian walkway side by side able to watch the trains or the river and water birds below.

Thorndon Park Reserve, located in Paradise, Australia, recently underwent a $3.1 million redevelopment project that resulted in an award-winning playground inspired by the diverse bird life found in the area. The playground features unique play zones and equipment such as the heron slide sculpture, wren climbing sculpture, sky bridge, liberty swing, junior slide, multi-purpose courts, ninja warrior course, flying fox and misting water sculpture.
Thordan Park Reserve is one of the finest parks in Adelaide, offering a perfect blend of nature, recreation, and relaxation. This beautiful park features a unique bird-themed playground, which is a favorite among children, providing an engaging environment for them to explore and play. The park is well-maintained with clean, accessible toilets and several BBQ and picnic areas, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings, friends, and outdoor events. A tranquil lake nearby adds to the park’s charm, where visitors can enjoy peaceful strolls and watch the many ducks and waterfowl that frequent the area. The park’s vast green spaces and shaded areas offer a serene setting for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply unwinding in nature. With well-kept walking paths, ample parking, and family-friendly amenities, Thordan Park Reserve is a highly recommended destination for locals and visitors looking to enjoy a day outdoors in Adelaide.
Muhammad N — Google review
Perfect place for a family picnic, lots to keep kids busy, ample parking and accessible for wheel chairs and prams. The park has enough shaded areas for a sunny afternoon and the presence of the water body makes it stand out!
Gaurangi A — Google review
Thorndon park is a brilliant park great for walking, running, playing and everything else. Great views especially for a city. A few downsides are dogs aren't allowed and the paths near the lake are very dirty with duck feces. But apart from those downsides it is a great place with good bathrooms and brilliant play equipment. There are plenty of fish in the lakes but fishing is not allowed there are also heaps of native birds that are super friendly.
Cobbion — Google review
Had had a great revamp to the playground. Few more bbq area and bench table & seating around the shaded area. Kiosk run by Rotary is open on occasions too.
Janet’s J — Google review
Great playground area for kids of all ages. Lovely walk around the lake. Clean amenities and BBQ areas
Vicki S — Google review
I can see why it was named 2023 best playground in Australia. Large open spaces, plenty of bbq/picnic areas. Nice short walking trails. HUGE playground for the kids to play on with plenty to do. Photos don’t do it justice to be honest. If you have kids, it’s definitely a must see place. Your kids will love it.
Michael B — Google review
Great fun, and going by the crowds massively popular with the locals. Playground equipment for kiddies of all ages. The water play equipment is entertaining and the wiggling little waterway is a pretty little design addition. Chips and hot dog from the Rotary (?) shed were very reasonably priced and well cooked, with condiments provided gratis. Will be taking the family back again.

Nestled in the charming seaside town of St Kilda, just a short drive from Adelaide's bustling CBD, the St Kilda Adventure Playground is a must-visit for families seeking outdoor fun. This expansive play area boasts an array of attractions that will delight children of all ages. From thrilling slides and a bouncy boomerang to basketball courts and BBQ stations, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
St Kilda Adventure Playground in South Australia is a fantastic spot for both kids and adults, and it's my son's favourite place, especially for its amazing pirate ship. The playground offers a wide range of attractions including slides, swings, and climbing structures, all set amidst beautiful scenery near the waterway. It's perfect for families to gather and enjoy a day of fun and laughter, with plenty of space for picnics. Convenient facilities like nearby toilets and a large parking area make visits stress-free. I highly recommend it as a wonderful place where community spirit and joy come together.
Hasti G — Google review
Big, really really big. So much space. The playgrounds are also massive. Huge slides, swings, ropes climbing, and other play equipment - including a giant pirate ship on the sand! Great day out *if you are prepared*. If you're going, don't question this review, just do it. Ensure you bring: 1. Hats / umbrellas / sunscreen (no shaded areas). 2. Your own big cardboard box (for the massive metal slides - an absolute must!). 3. Picnic rug, food, and water (no benches really to sit at, eateries close by, or water you could confidently trust to drink - but plenty of nice grass). Do all of this and you'll have a good time!
Geoffrey N — Google review
Great fun for the family , go on all the playground things then finish with a BBQ that is supplied , just bring your food to cook and your in for a fun day 😊
Cyclone T — Google review
Really good place for small picnic. Specially kids will love it. Lots of slides and swings. Families can do small gathering over there to see good sun set.
RONAK P — Google review
St Kilda Adventure Playground, located approximately 45 minutes north of Adelaide’s CBD, is a standout destination for families seeking outdoor fun. Established in 1982 and extensively refurbished in 2016, the playground spans four hectares and offers a diverse range of attractions suitable for children of all ages.
Michael A — Google review
A classic. I came here when I was a kid. It was a little more daring than it is now but it's much nicer and family friendly. Usually well maintained and keeps the kids busy for a few hours.

Cleland National Park, located in the Adelaide Hills, offers a variety of hiking trails through bushland where visitors can spot diverse native wildlife. The park is known for its popular Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty hike and a section of the Heysen Trail. In addition to these well-known routes, there are 11 other trails that provide opportunities to observe koalas, kangaroos, and birdlife while traversing dense bushland and challenging inclines.
It’s great. You can hike up to ticket station. I heard up from there that the hike is really steep. Easy to spend a day there. Kangaroo feed 4$, ticket 33$. Easy parking, there’s also a bus that goes there. There are plenty of rest stops, so you can pack a lunch.
Joslin W — Google review
This was a beautiful introduction to our most unique wildlife, for our overseas visitor. Being able to pat a koala, feed kangaroos and Wallabies, see them all at the same place.
Lynn L — Google review
Even though it was a bit pricey on entry, I highly recommend this place. A large wildlife park to spend a few hours in. You can not see the entire place in under 3hours, may need the whole afternoon. Great place and workers there are awesome, professional and friendly.
Simon L — Google review
Cleland National Park is a great place to experience Australia’s natural beauty. With scenic walking trails and wildlife such as koalas, kangaroos, and emus, it’s perfect for nature lovers. Visitors can feed kangaroos by purchasing a food pack for AUD 4, adding a fun and interactive element to the visit. Tickets cost AUD 33.50 for adults, with concession rates available. The park also has a beautiful lookout near the rock kangaroo area, offering stunning views of the cit. Picnic spots are available for those who want to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. While some days include koala rest days or limited access to certain areas, there’s still plenty to explore. The on-site café offers tasty snacks and lunches, making it easy to spend a full day at the park. Cleland National Park is a wonderful destination for connecting with nature and wildlife.
Tharushi G — Google review
Enjoyed it very much. Very well organised and structured. Great information and directions to various sections of the park. We were able to pet a koala during interactive session. Highly recommended.

The Dunstan Adventure Playground is perfect for speed demons who want to race down a slippery slide at break neck speed. The playground also includes a wobbly rope bridge, climbing frames, and a flying fox, which will be loved by little ones who see the buses whizz past.
Dunstan Adventure Playground Review Dunstan Adventure Playground is a hidden gem for families seeking a fun, active day out. Located in Adelaide, this unique playground is packed with exciting equipment that encourages creativity and physical activity. The standout feature is its adventurous design, including climbing structures, swings, slides. It's ideal for kids of various ages, offering challenges that promote problem-solving and teamwork. The playground is set in a spacious, well-maintained area with plenty of seating for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their little ones. Shaded spots and nearby amenities make it convenient for longer visits. However, it can get busy on weekends, so arriving early is a good idea. Overall, Dunstan Adventure Playground offers an engaging outdoor experience that keeps children entertained for hours while providing a safe, family-friendly atmosphere.

Perfect for kids roughly 4+ who are adventurous and resilient. So much to do, so many risks to take and such an amazing view for kids interested in cars haha. Great cafe nearby for coffee. Will take my adventurous 4 year old again in a heartbeat even though I live an hour and a half away
Mel M — Google review
I checked out this park last weekend! Nice people, your belongings would seem safe in this area. Fun super slide, climbing areas, flying fox, tiny trampoline, 2 swings and a water play area. Only down thing I personally would complain about is to watch out for bugs that may accompany you like mites... just a heads up.
Louise Y — Google review
Great playground for entertaining children young and old. The layout makes great use of the lay of the natural slope for a long slide and bridge and climbing equipment. Not sure how well the equipment will be protected from the heat of the sun in the summer No water fountain or toilet facilities but there are tables and benches suitable for a picnic lunch While we were there there many people making use of the equipment. This park has been upgraded, especially the slide, new bark and toilets 🚻. Well worth spending time here.
Romano F — Google review
My kids love this playground, is a good place 💖
Yenny O — Google review
There're a long slide, a short flying fox, 2 swings, a trampoline and some climbing facilities. Lots of slopes and rock in the park, not suitable for toddlers. Not much shade area
Clarence M — Google review
Dunstan adventure playground is located by the Torrens river. This play space is built on a slope. There are a lot of play facilities here. The most distinctive facility is a long iron slide, but the slide will be hot in the sunshine and it’s not very smooth. There is a small parking lot near it which has less than 10 parking spaces.
Lu L — Google review
Very awesome upgrade done to the playground and park facilities including a BBQ and toilets, which will definitely be a reminder to bring along a BBQ lunch h nch or a picnic the playground was an absolute hit for the children, I may have also tested the slide to see if it was fun so have a go and don't just let the children take all the fun

Cobbler Creek Recreation Park is a hidden gem located between Golden Grove and Salisbury, offering an ideal escape into nature. This park features the thrilling Kites and Kestrels adventure playground, which boasts climbing structures resembling trees with raptor nests, sandpits, a flying fox, and a super slide—perfect for kids to explore.
One of my old favourites, took my MTB bestie and we had a blast! Perfect to get outdoors and enjoy the wildlife. Perfect for anyone new to MTBing or just getting into the outdoors.
Steve M — Google review
Had been planning to go here for a long time. And finally did with my son. We did the bablers loop hike! 3.5km approximately. The route is tricky with some ant hills along the route that make it difficult, walking path is very narrow for some part. And the whole creek is dry ! We spotted a huge rabbit when I had almost given up on siting any animals. We enjoyed the hike and my son loved the park space for kids. We spent 2 hrs here. Good place to picnic as well.
Kowshik P — Google review
A beautiful local Conservation Recreational Park to enjoy on your own or with family. Playground/BBQ/toilets/bike tracks/walking tracks. Dog owners, please keep your dogs on leads to keep nature, people & other dogs safe.
Alana B — Google review
Something for everyone. The is green and well maintained lawn, a nice playground with plenty of seating, half under shelter the others shaded by trees. a small childrens garden and play area. It is a fully equipped and there is enough off-street parking. Beginners to professionals push bike tracks are to the north (Peddlers Paddock) and walking tracks to the east. The actual creek is about a kilometre to the north/north east. Edit: DId a loop walk to the ruins and back, great variety of habitats along the way.
Janos V — Google review
It was an autumn afternoon, I walked between the rain and the sun, between the sunshine on the treetops and at the same time the soft raindrops fell on the way back. This is a quiet place for you to relax with family and friends in peace because everything here is extremely simple. If you are a lover of unspoiled nature, this place can give you a gentle sense of harmony. It's a feeling that comes from deep inside when we escape from bustling city life. Right here, I let my bare feet touch the ground and felt the love and breath of mother nature.
Hong N — Google review
Beautiful, vast park for walking, biking (there's a bike trail) and taking in the scenery. A lovely park for the kids with a flying fox, BBQs, toilets and drinking fountain.
Eleanor H — Google review
Nice playground here. A BBQ and toilets here too. Lots of mountain bikers come here. My lot like playing in the native area near the playground in the trees.

Huge park, many walking and biking trails with different difficulties. Paths are wide and easy for walking. The ruin on hilltop is great for viewing at the surrounding suburbs. Views from the dam along the porosa hike is nice, too. Recreation area with playground that has many things to play. There's toilets, barbeque areas and a nice garden. Great place for family gatherings and to view the sunset with a largely open grassland area.

Nestled along the picturesque Esplanade in Seacliff, Angus Neill Reserve is a delightful beachside haven perfect for family outings. With stunning views of the ocean, this well-maintained park offers an array of amenities including BBQ facilities and ample picnic spots. Kids will love exploring the nature play and water play areas, featuring a charming wooden pirate ship that evokes nostalgic playground memories. The reserve also boasts a fun spinner, a hillside cave for adventurous spirits, and plenty of shaded spaces to relax.
Nice location right on the beach front. Lots for the kids to do in a large play ground with surrounding community cooking areas which also has a under cover area and toilets near by. Plenty of parking.

Angus Neill Reserve is a nice open park with plenty of space to chill out or have a picnic. The playground is good for kids, and there are BBQs and shaded areas to use. Right across from the beach so you get a great view while you’re there. Perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon.

Lovely Reserve. Beautifully maintained. Very accessibly friendly with the pathways, toilet access and no step to the disabled park. **It's seaside - no barrier between there and the beach, so be careful of getting wind burn on the elderly and kids - they are better off in something light, but long sleeved and collared** Definitely pack the sunscreen and hat, there's a lot of space that's not undercover. Children's play area has water play - pack a change of clothes. Plenty of space even when it's busy to pack a footy, cricket, Frisbee or grip ball. Toilets 🚻 are the new style automatic 10min toilets with music 🎶 so if you have "that" toddler that goes 100 times then a few more, be prepared for that game 😆 There are only 2 Gazebos so it's a 6:30am trip to get there to reserve and snag a Gazebo. Take your own Gazebo if going later in the day. Actually quite an impressive amount of parking, although the carparks are quite tight for bigger vehicles, but there's plenty of road parking too.

We love this park for so many reasons! So much space for fun filled activities and family gatherings of all sizes. Plenty of undercover area and bbq space! Highly recommend checking this park out next time the sun is out! It is well maintained from the local Holdfast Bay Council workers as well who are super friendly! We may be a little biased though as this is our office where we also hold 3 sessions each week. Our 9.15am Wednesday, 9.15am Friday and 8am Saturday classes would agree that it's the best place to be to enjoy the great outdoors with great laughs and get fit at the same time!

An amazing park alongside Brighton beach. Great place for a picnic with your whole family, a romantic evening with your partner or to have an amazing time playing catch your doggo. Has a small public barbeque which you can make use of. Come over here to get a piece of beach and a park. You can either sit, relax and watch the sun dips into the sea or take a casual stroll with a slight beeze that will send a chill through your body. So to sum it up a great place to come with anyone and have a good time altogether.

Great little park. Wasn't overly busy. Some toys already in the sand pit for extra fun for little ones.
Adam B — Google review
A lovely park that is located adjacent of the Brighton beach. Very popular amongst the local. The park has a playground for kids, lawn, BBQ facilities, toilets, adequate shades and sheltered areas. A fantastic picnic location for family and friends. There are also two cafés within walking distance where you can get nice coffees and ice cream. Parking can be hard on the weekends and public holidays. Highly recommend for all to visit.

Heywood Park, located in Adelaide, South Australia, has recently undergone renovations and now boasts a mini ninja warrior course that has become a major draw for families. The park features two playgrounds catering to different age groups and is surrounded by lush greenery, providing ample space for picnics and outdoor activities. Additionally, the park's proximity to eateries and cafes on King William Road makes it convenient for visitors to grab takeout and enjoy it within the park grounds.
A hidden gem tucked into Unley Park. Towering trees, winding paths and plenty of open space to relax or wander quietly. It has this lovely, almost secretive feel—never too busy, and the light filtering through the gums in the afternoon is beautiful.

Haywood Park is a beautiful place. The playground is well worth bringing the children to play. The Mini Ninja Course is the most distinctive and challenging activity. From the START to the FINISH, there are a total of 8 challenge projects. The parking lot on Addiscombe PL is very convenient, with an electronic display at the entrance to inform the number of available parking spaces. The parking lot is also equipped with charging point for electric vehicles.

We lost 20 minutes of our booking. Booked two courts for badminton. Went to YMCA in time and the court were not ready. ‘You have to set up your own nets’, thats the part of the booking. The information was not given during the time of booking. So we grabbed the all equipment and set it up. Now, when you are playing you will get direct outside bright light in the short-sighted line and you will face difficulty seeing the shuttles. We requested to drop the curtain or shades and they said, ‘yes’, but that didn’t happen. Also remember that you also have to put the equipment back if there is no other booking after you. Enjoy!!! Should I book again??? $30/hour/court and you receive awful service.

State park
Belair National Park, located just 25 minutes south-east of Adelaide CBD, offers a variety of activities for visitors. It is the birthplace of South Australia's national parks system and has a rich history dating back to 1837. The park features hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as sports grounds including tennis courts and cricket pitches. Additionally, it is home to koalas and kangaroos in its wild bushland.
Belair National Park is one of my favourite places to visit for a day out in nature. The park is absolutely beautiful, with well-maintained walking trails that suit all fitness levels. There’s so much to explore — from waterfalls and creeks to lovely picnic spots and historic buildings. The wildlife is amazing too — we spotted koalas, kangaroos, and lots of birdlife. It’s such a peaceful place to unwind and reconnect with nature. The picnic and BBQ areas are clean and well looked after, and there are plenty of grassy open spaces for kids to run around. The playground is great for families too. I also appreciate how easy it is to access from Adelaide — it’s so close yet feels like a true escape. Highly recommend Belair National Park to anyone looking for a relaxing bushwalk, a family picnic, or just a breath of fresh air in beautiful surroundings.
Natali N — Google review
Lovely park but very dry at the moment. End of April 2025 We did a waterfall loop through the tunnel which was really nice and to the lower part and then the upper part of the falls. Even though there was no water the views are lovely and we were rewarded with 7 koala spotting and one echidna. Kangaroos and many different types of birds galore. Park is very well maintained with lots of trails, picnic areas, toilets and a playground. It seems to be less busy than Morialta and Cleland which for me was a bonus. The entry fee is $13.50 but you can also park before the entrance and walk in.

Belair National Park, just 13 km from Adelaide, is a perfect nature escape from city life. Set in the Mount Lofty Ranges, it offers scenic landscapes, native bushland, lakes, seasonal waterfalls, and a variety of hiking trails for all levels. Ideal for a day trip, the park has plenty of picnic areas with BBQs, shelters, and toilets. Kids can enjoy playgrounds and open spaces, while adults relax or explore. Wildlife is abundant—keep an eye out for kangaroos, koalas, and colorful birds. Visitors can also enjoy sports facilities like tennis courts and cricket pitches, or visit the historic Old Government House. Belair National Park is a beautiful, family-friendly spot to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Great trails, beautiful scenery and lovely plants and wildlife. We went for the wild flowers and we were very happy. There are lovely orchids growing and all kids of other native flowers. I have mobility issues so the trail we chose (Microcarpa) took quite a lot longer than the 1 hour quoted. However a lot of it was fairly easy to do until we hit a section that was much more undulating. We know for next time though and will probably just do the first half then turn back.

The Adelaide Himeji Garden is a peaceful retreat in South Australia's capital, designed to reflect traditional Japanese aesthetics. Established in 1985 as a symbol of the sister city relationship between Adelaide and Himeji, Japan, this serene oasis features elements such as waterfalls, stone lanterns, and meandering pathways that invite visitors to immerse themselves in the tranquility of Japanese landscape architecture.
A little pocket of calm that feels far away from the city. Meticulously cared for, with so much beauty in the details—the sound of water, the gentle textures, the light on the raked gravel. Easy to pop into if you’re nearby, and always worth slowing down for.
Amelia P — Google review
Great little garden to relax and think in. Nicely laid out rock paths and a small water feature that you had a small bridge to cross. There's a cozy seating area overlooking a Zen garden/Japanese dry garden. Was there during a bit of a rain and the water was flowing nicely. Very nice place to go and have a ponder.

A beautiful peaceful garden. Not too big and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. This is a place to enjoy the peace and quiet and respect others need for the same.
Veronica U — Google review
The Adelaide Himeji Garden is truly a hidden gem tucked among the expanse of parks. The garden essentially guarantees an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity away from the busy hustle of the city. The pond in the centre is home to several species of fish, including medaka rice fish, goldfish and even several turtles. The winding gravel track travels around the pond, leading to a clean dry garden. Crystal clear water gently trickles down rock terraces as a waterfall, passing green lilies and suffusing with the greenish water of the main pool. Copious tree coverage, including that of Bonsai trees, provides adequate shade, while the grassy lawn allows for picnics under brilliant sunshine. Ultimately, my visit to Adelaide Himeji Garden has given me overwhelming reason to revisit in the future as my favourite garden in the entire city.

Hallett Cove Conservation Park is a coastal park located just under an hour's drive from the city, offering a 2km hike with breathtaking coastal views. The park features interpretive boardwalks that showcase the area's geological and archaeological significance, including the world-famous Sugarloaf and a 200 million-year-old glacial pavement. Visitors can learn about ancient glaciers while enjoying accessible trails, a rocky beach, and magnificent coastal scenery.
The walking trails have recently been reopened in 2024, with 2x newly constructed suspension bridges that have been installed, This walk is beautiful, from the high clifftop lookouts, to the scenic geological structures that were created millions of years ago. It is a relatively easy walk with stairs and dirt tracks. I recommend starting at the Boat Shed Cafe and walking with the wind until you turn around and enjoy the cool sea breeze on the way back. It took me about an hour casually walking and stopping to take photos, until i reached the first suspension bridge. It was a 2 hour round trip for me. I recommend a bottle of water, sunscreen and hat, along with walking shoes for the undulating terrain and different surfaces. I thought the walk was amazing and the Boat Shed Cafe was a welcome sight for some cold drinks and delicious food afterwards.

Sampath A — Google review
I recently visited Hallett Cove Conservation Park and was truly impressed by its natural beauty and unique geological features. The walking trails are well-maintained and offer stunning coastal views, especially from the boardwalk that winds along the cliffs. I loved the mix of rugged coastline, interesting rock formations, and the fossil-rich Sugarloaf. It’s a great place for an easy to moderate hike, with plenty of spots to stop and take in the ocean scenery. I appreciated how informative the signage is — it really helped me understand the geological history of the area. There’s also a nice picnic area near the car park which makes it a good spot for families. The only downside was that some sections can get a bit windy, so I’d recommend dressing appropriately and bringing water and sun protection. Overall, I found Hallett Cove Conservation Park to be a peaceful and fascinating place to spend a few hours in nature, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys coastal walks and wants to see something a bit different near Adelaide.

sososo beautiful this Hallett park indeed love the stunning view here❤️ didn’t have very high expectation before coming, just do a little research, at first wanted go pink lake today though the weather forecast showed cloudy day so found this place hahahaa and this definitely worth coming loveyaya soso good experience here yaya and pretty easy getting here only take 30mins drive from city center and you arrive this breathtaking park haha really like a paradise close to the adelaide’s center very unexpected and stunning!!! hallett park is just like a circle you can walk from the mountain top first or going to the beach side first all a perfect scene❤️ and we go down to the beach first and get back the mountain and going to the sugarloaf and black cove point later on, and finally getting to the top of the mountain i think this is a perfect trail for us hahahaaa, seeing every lovely landscape loveyaya<3 even i think we’ve just finished 1/4of the whole park loll but the visit already so thoroughly hahaha maybe next time we may have another chance visiting again and complete the whole mountain yaya we stayed a while in sugarloaf and this is a cute cave, just a pudding haha Its shape is due to erosion by rain and wind over the last few thousand years but the layers tell a much longer story around 295mil years ago, southern Australia (including Hallett Cove) was covered by an ice cap. It melted about 290mil years ago. The lower red layers of boulders and sediment were deposited on the bottom of an ancient glacial meltwater lake. when the lake drained, the white sand was blown over the red sediments. The brown cap is clay deposited from rivers about 3mil years ago. very fun hiking family day in hallett cove conservation park and in our mid autumn festival yaya happy for you and your fam too loveyaya Hallett Cove Conservation Park rating of mine: 5**

What a gem and so close to the city 😍 Los of tracks, board walks, etc, leading to amazing features, such as The Sugarloaf, Amphitheatre, and Black Cliff, with the higher parts providing magnificent views. The lower trail hooks up with the Marion coastal trail, and the first section is bitumen, making it easily accessible to wheelchairs and prams. Please note that dogs are not permitted in this conservation park. There is interpretative signage along the route describing the parks' cultural and geological heritage, including evidence of an Australian iceage some 280 million years ago. The outstanding glacial pavements along the northern cliff tops are recognised as the best record of Permian glaciation in Australia and have international significance. The parks beach is popular for swimming and snorkelling. The beach itself is heavily covered with rocks. Parking at the southern end can be tricky due to the popularity of The Boatshed cafe there. However, there are multiple entrances to the park.
Emmy S — Google review
This is an easy 2km loop through Hallett Cove Conservation Park, and it’s packed with some seriously cool ancient geology. Along the way, you’ll find signs that explain what you’re looking at—stuff like huge boulders and layered rock that were left behind when a massive glacial lake melted about 270 million years ago. One of the highlights is the glacial pavement at the top of the cliffs—you can actually see the scratch marks made by giant boulders dragged along by the glacier. It’s wild to think this spot is one of the best examples of Permian glaciation in all of Australia, and it’s even recognised internationally for its significance. The walk kicks off at the carpark and café at Hallett Cove Beach, down the end of Heron Way. And if you’re feeling like stretching your legs a bit more, you can keep going north along the Hallett Cove Boardwalk, part of the Marion Coastal Walking Trail. The views just keep getting better.

Beautiful gardens especially in Spring when almost everything is in flower. Within the 13 hectare you'll discover an extensive collection of water-wise plants from Australia and South Africa. There are many trails to wander, a gazebo and a number of seats and picnic tables. If lucky, you may even spot a few turtles in the large lake in the centre of the gardens. There are toilets andan amazing playground too. These gardens are wheelchair friendly. They open every day from 8.30am, however closing time varies depending on the season: June to August 4pm; September, April and May 5pm; October to March 7pm. There is a bus stop near the entrance as well as parking for about 50 vehicles (one way in and out). Note that pets, drones, bbqs, ball throwing swimming, smoking or vainglorious are all prohibited within the park. The location is super convenient - close to the centre of Blackwood which offers a huge array of cafes and restaurants.

Kids can enjoy various swings, slides, and even in-ground trampolines, making it an exciting spot for playtime. The playground boasts one of the largest climbing frames around, ensuring endless fun for energetic little ones.
My kids Loved this playground, we are new to Adelaide and will certainly be back here. First of all it's massive, second - there is so many different types of playground equipment, thirdly - there is lots of trees to climb and park area to play sports.

I was pleased. I don't know why I haven't taken kids here before, so easily accessible, free parking. Maybe during week might be annoying for parking I think. The park itself very nice, lots to do. Shade available, BBQ facilities, toilets 🚻. Very good place to take kiddos
Yamorena K — Google review
I went to use the toilet. The toilet in the brick building had a sign saying " out of order - blocked". The modern automatic toilet would not open the door when touching the sensor switch, even though it was vacant at the time. Not happy.

Great park to sit back and relax with the family. There are toilets and different playgrounds catering for kids of all ages.

The swings were fenced off with orange plastic fence which was easily got around...unsure why fenced off...if swings problem take them down. Lots of shade. Clean toilets. Interesting and different play things. Nice picnic area too

Marshmallow Playground, located in Adelaide's inner South, has undergone a major renovation in recent years. The playground offers ample shade, thanks to a beautiful fig tree at its center. It features water play and nature play areas, swings, slides, and climbing frames. Additionally, there are adjacent basketball and tennis courts within view for older kids. The presence of toilets is an essential convenience for parents with younger children.
Excellent playground for ages 1.5 - 10. Nice and spread out, lots of space for picnics or parties. Fully fenced and toilets just outside the fenced area. Water play available, pathways suitable for scooters, plenty of shade too. Parking is on the main road.

It's such a lovely place for the kids and even adults to get together. Clean, quiet, and peaceful space, especially for families to have a picnic at the weekend. Highly recommended.

Nice and quite playground with plenty of trees and grass. Facilities: bbq (electricity socket to connect in one of it), cover tables, drinkable water. Toilets next to the playground. Free parking on the street everyday. Parking not permitted mon-fri from 8am-10am. Lots of cute rats around the bbqs. During night time you can spot possums. On Sundays there is a coffee van park next to the playground ❤️
Ale P — Google review
A unique little playground with copper/metal looking play stuff/huts and the standard equipment like slides and swings and obstacle course like things. It is easily accessible and seems like a fun place to bring the kids. I think some adults were even having a bit of fun on the equipment!

Awesome playground with good clean facilities. Gated area, with tables and 2 BBQ areas. Downside, HEAPS of rats. Saw so many during daylight, and they were everywhere once the sun set. Also a massive tree branch fell down while we were there, Scary to think we were just underneath and so could other people! Dogs allowed on leash no more than 2m.

A great fully enclosed playground. Suitable for children of all ages. The big banyan tree inside is a feature. There are also two barbecue halls. It's very suitable for family to play here. There are lights at night.
Lu L — Google review
Lots of nature play style areas with some climbing equipment too. Suits a lot of ages and there are some climbing areas and play areas for older kids on the other side of the creek. When not infiltrating water the creek is awesome too and should be even better once the trees grow some more
Russell K — Google review
Beautiful new park but three main issues: No swings for older kids (anyone over 5 would have trouble using the baby/toddler swings which require parental help to get kids in and out of. The water play area is great, but I hate to think of the massive waste of water? The tap is turned on full and the ground is catching the sandy water…? Could be more seating under the fig tree to enjoy the shade.

The park features a 4km trail loop and an expansive adventure playground with numerous play elements such as slides, seesaws, spinners, and a fossil dig area. Additionally, there are Kaurna carvings and sculptures spread across 7,000 square meters.
Beautiful nature playground. Plenty trees and natural areas for kids to explore. Great BBQ facilities and toilets. No bins as you need to take your rubbish with you and everyone is obliging. It is very clean!

Love the story relating to this park. There are already some beautiful features and the park volunteers clearly are working on a long term plan to return this park to splendour it would have once repressed as a native bushland environment. Love how many people are working to help rewild the wild, in my opinion some of the most important work on the planet. Some great walks already.

A beautiful national park, with the most incredible play equipment and play areas for all ages. Well thought out, loads of space, so many wonderful aspects to this playground. Do yourself a favour, and visit.
Trina B — Google review
Visiting Glenthorne National Park always touches my heart. Walking along the trails, listening to birds sing, and seeing kangaroos hop by makes me feel connected, not just to nature, but to life itself. The story of this park makes it even more meaningful. Once farmland, now lovingly restored with respect for Kaurna culture and the environment, it shows how people and nature can heal together. The park is easy to enjoy too, with ample car parking, clean bathrooms, and a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. It’s perfect for picnics (with public BBQs), family gatherings, or meeting friends, moments that make life feel full. Being here reminds me, and I hope it reminds others, to love people, love the world, live fully, and live beautifully, because we only live once. 🌿💚🌏
Hong N — Google review
We visited Glenthorne on a whim, after driving around and randomly exploring Adelaide and its surrounds. We had no idea what to expect so went in blind, but ended up loving the hour or so we spent there. The park proudly embraces indigenous culture, informs and educates about the local flora and fauna, and contains an awesome playground/BBQ area for families and kids, as well as offering walking tracks through the grounds. Usually, when I see the very typical dry and barren Aussie grasslands, I'm not too enthused. On this occasion, however, being in the midst of it and away from society (to a reasonable extent, anyway), it was surprisingly peaceful and serene. I could have sat on a rock for hours, just watching the birds and enjoying the sunshine. The playground is truly one-of-a-kind and would have been a regular haunt had my kids grown up in the area. Everything is a clever blend of steel and timber, giving it a very colonial, 'this belongs here' feel. I was very impressed. For the parents, there's some covered seating, clean toilets, and the aforementioned BBQs. And, should seating be limited on a busy day, the ample shady trees can help you out. Overall, Glenthorne NP was a lucky find. It gave us an unexpected detox from the hustle-and-bustle, and I say that with a certain level of mirth, considering we were in Adelaide enjoying a holiday! Nevertheless, peace and quiet is always a good thing, as is swapping people for animals, now and again. Glenthorne is a lovely spot, please see it for yourself when the timing and weather suits.

This playground is huge my boys absolutely loved it. I would say it's second only to St. Kilda playground. There are two large awesome slides for different ages and one smaller slide. There are flying foxes, spinners, all different things to climb, rocks/logs to climb over the creek and lots of nature play. It's so cool.
Emma B — Google review
This is a great park. My son has been on a number of walks with scouts and the new playground is an absolute hit! Might be a tad hot in summer though, not much shade... I love all the different creek crossings. There's great bbq areas and sensor lights at night. It's great that you can bring dogs in. I'm looking forward to doing the bird walk.

Additionally, there are train rides available on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. Wow! Such an amazing place for a day out/picnic! There is lots of space here and even tiny steam trains that you can take a ride on. Plenty of play area for kids in the park and there's also an obstacle course for your dog. Yep, this place is dog friendly too. Plenty of parking spots available and toilet facilities too.

We went here for my great nephew's 3rd birthday. It is a perfect place. The trains are wonderful. Adults and children both adored it. We were able to get a table to set up food and 🎂. We also brought a couple of folding chairs to help. When the kids weren't on the trains, they were playing in the playgrounds and watching the model cars racing. My brother and I (both in our 70's) went for a walk along the river. Beautiful carvings are next to the creek. A great place!

Wonderful large grass reserve where dog obedience classes are held. A good place to let your dog have a run around off lead in quiet times. However, it sits between States & Wheatsheaf Rds, which can be quite busy at certain times of the day, so keep that in mind.

This park is amazing. We live about 20 minutes away and I can say the drive was well worth it! Highly recommend taking visiting Wilfred Taylor Reserve for an outing with your family. There is a massive range of different playground equipment to suit most ages under 10. My kids are 5 & 6 and they loved exploring all the different areas in the park, there are BBQ’s and quite a bit of seating available for a nice lunch as well. My kids favourite was the zip line and the rope climbing areas.

Great park but the bbqs we used were so slow and the other ones didn't work. It took about 1.5hr to cook 6 Chops and a few snags. Had no light under the shelter, so we packed up and finished cooking at home as it was getting dark. All bbqs were very clean! Need a bbq near the younger kids park.

Beautiful and Peaceful park: A very nice park with a gorgeous curved creek. Lots of friendly ducks playing in the water make it a hit with everyone. The small bridges are not only lovely but are also historic, being over 100 years old! A truly charming place for a short visit.
Raman S — Google review
I came to Tusmore Park today and I found the First Creek was so clean, peaceful and beautiful. However, Google Map doesn't show from where it comes to the Tusmore Park and where it goes after Tusmore Park. I was I bit curious how the First Creek runs through various roads and backyards of many houses within Adelaide city to arrive to the Tusmore Park and also where it ends? The First Creek also passing through the Hazelwood Park, and interesting to know it is also the stream passing through the beautiful Waterfall Gully that I visited twice just a few weeks ago. Eventually I discovered that the First Creek, once passes through Hazelwood Park and Tusmore Park, it mainly turns to underground canels or within concrete culverts, just occasionally passing though backyards of some houses. It passes through Norwood, Kent Town and eventually arrives Adelaide Botanic Garden First Creek Wetland before discharging into River Torrens at Grundy Gardens.

Tusmore park is a great place for adults to relax and children to play. A stream flows through the park and brings a lot of fun. Parking is convenient in many places on the nearby streets.

Mitcham Reserve is a stunning destination that has truly blossomed since its redevelopment in 2018. Nestled amidst beautiful scenery and charming creeks, this playground offers an enchanting experience for children, featuring unique wooden structures that evoke a medieval kingdom vibe—complete with a towering slide! The expansive grassy areas provide ample space for picnics or birthday celebrations, making it perfect for family gatherings.
A nice little place for a picnic and play! Quite a few areas for BBQ and plenty of seating. Also has a good area for kids to play, toilet facilities and a covered seating area. A good place for a picnic. There are a couple of bridges there too but the water had dried up when we visited, I imagine the place would look even better with a stream under the bridge! There is ample parking here as well.. The best part though, dogs are allowed on lead!

Whimsical little castle and climbing equipment right next to the creek. Lovely area to walk with ample parking. Bathrooms clean and bbq area operational. If the rain did not beat us, would have spent a great deal of the afternoon here. The upper climbing equipment is more suited to older children 5 and above as wooden planks are far apart. The bottom part is good for little ones. Across the bridge are some swings and both areas on the sides of the bridge boast with large grass areas for running. The trees rich area ensures that there is ample sun covering.

It's spacious and ideal for a picnic or quick break-away with family and friends. Got a play area for kids, BBQ areas, a separate ground along with restrooms. Its dog friendly as well. If you are interested in the history of the area, you could see the historic keystone bridge, and the ancient trees of the historic Mitcham Village. For photobuffs, it would provide beautiful greenery, landscapes and portrait options of the tree trail, the creek, etc

The well-maintained lawn provides ample space for various activities and enjoying ocean views. Visitors can also find benches along the path and toilet facilities nearby. The playground features climbing structures and a large grassed area for children to play on.
Our local beach just down the road, the reserve is lovely and well maintained, on a week day it's great, but on a weekend no chance of getting a park or BBQ as big groups take it over. We actually got married here so holds special memories. Did prefer it before and when it had more car parks to be able to park and bring the elderly dogs by car.

Lovely undercover picnic areas, seating and BBQs available as well as a single unisex toilet and well equipped playground along Hallett Cove Beach and walking track. Dogs must be on a lead and there is a drinking fountain available. There is free street parking but it can easily fill up especially on weekends and public holidays. The beach is a combination of sand and ocean pebbles, with a wooden staircase leading down to it. The sweeping views from the top are absolutely stunning. Further north along the path is the Hallett Cove Conservation Park and the Boatshed cafe.

Nestled in the heart of Adelaide, Hendrie Street Reserve Playground stands out as a pioneering space designed with inclusivity at its core. As part of the Livvis Place Network, this playground is a beacon for children of all abilities to come together and enjoy playtime side by side. With features like a wheelchair-accessible roundabout, sensory gardens filled with fragrant plants, and an expansive basket swing that accommodates multiple friends at once, it truly caters to everyone’s needs.
Very well rounded park. Its decently busy. We spent an hour and met 4/5 families. Completely enclosed with all sorts of terrain to try. There are all sorts of activities such as slides (a tall one for more adventurous players and a smaller one for toddlers ect) swings, rock walls, rope ladders, log stairs and a sort of spinning carousel. There is an enclosed track with hills and bends to either run or ride bikes/scooters ect on. You also have a few sculptures to admire and rocks in which to draw and etch animals from (bring paper and pencils). There is a BBQ surface though I did not use it, many beautiful trees and plants to interact with and taps for washing up if needed. Surfaces include glass, bark, dirt and that weird hard fake ground found in most parks. There is a toilet block nearby and plenty of parking either on street or near by. Two entrances / exits to watch and no dogs allowed. All in all, fantastic day . I would have gotten more pictures but there was just so much to do

Conveniently close to the Marion Outdoor Pool. Plenty of parking spaces. Fenced in playground. Safe equipment except for the Merry-go-round. Witnessed a few accidents while there. The sand around can make it a slippery hazard. Be careful with the little kids around the rocks and as they climb up. There’s a few benches here and there and shaded seating as well. It’s a strictly No Dogs Playground but dogs can have plenty of space outside the playground in the Park.

One of the best playareas in the area. It has it all, huge playground, bbq, toilets, water, mini bike track, track for scooters that goes around the playground!!! It is fenced off all the way around, so great for little ones. One of my kids favourite pieces is the manual chain lift! Great place for a kids party!

There is a closed circuit, which is great for kids go learn the off-road bike experience. There are a great variety of play structures, great for toddlers to older kids. There is one working pump and two not in work. Hope that would be fixed soon.

This is still a great playground but is starting to suffer with wear and tear. More regular bin emptying, particularly just before and just after weekends would/may help with rubbish overflow.

We arrived at 9:20am in the morning and were still too late to get a shelter. We had to set-up on the fringes. The play ground is awesome for the kids and the area is well kept and you can easily keep an eye on your kids. I'd like to give a higher score, but a lack of shelters, the popularity of the park and our experience hold me back.

Fantastic park to walk your dog. People are generally very friendly and very aware of their dogs attitude and mood.

Took the dog for a walk there the other day and was very impressed with the new recreation centre. Oval lawns were well mantained and there were people of all sorts jogging and sitting in the park grounds. A cricket game was on and the sun was shining. It had a nice and relaxing summer vibe for a Tuesday evening.

Playground
Klemzig Recreation Reserve Playground received a major upgrade in 2014, making it a vibrant and shaded destination for families in Adelaide. The playground features an array of attractions including slides, swings, climbing frames, and two flying foxes. Additionally, visitors can enjoy BBQ facilities, ample grassy areas, and convenient restroom access. While the playground is popular and bustling with activity, its open layout may pose challenges for supervising young children or runners.
One of the best playgrounds in the area, this one has a bit of everything for all ages and abilities. Best of all it is completely in shade both from shade sails and native trees. Climbing nets, flying fox (in a seat), swings, slides, rock and creek play, something for everyone!
Russell K — Google review
Great playground. Shaded at the hottest parts of the day. The landscaping is very relaxing how they mix nature and play equipment. Lots of different types of equipment for kids of different ages. Only downside is we weren't sure where to park so it was a bit of a walk.
Greg T — Google review
We love this playground equipped with huge oval, two tennis courts, BBQ and fun play equipment. The only downside is the limited car parking on OG Road. Hopefully, council can expand the car park in the near future.

I love this place, 600 meter walking track, green park ,kids play ground, we can see all cultural people here in evening, tennis court, cricket club, football club, game, community function hall, a good thing for drunker wine shop is very close to park, bus stop, good parking, grocery shop, sweet shop, over all this place is 5 star .

It's really good place to enjoy with family and friends. It's good place to play tennis, basketball, cricket and rugby. There is no soccer goals so we can't play soccer. There is a playground for kids to play.

Grand kids loved it and it caters for toddlers to preteens
Debbie R — Google review
A popular playground, with a fabulous playspace. The flying fox and nature trail are our favourite parts. This playspace does get VERY busy, and it is a challenge if bringing young children or runners as it is a very open space which is hard to supervise areas. Watch children carefully! This playground does back a pub and footy club.

Jervois Street Reserve is a well-designed suburban park that offers something for everyone. The playground, designed by Nature Play Design, features a variety of materials underfoot such as grass, softfall rubber, rocks, bark chips, sand and mosaic tiles. It is fenced and has a large oval suitable for kids and teens to play. The sun shade over the sandpit resembles a butterfly and there are wooden climbing equipment instead of plastic.
Jervois Street Reserve is a versatile and family-friendly park with plenty to offer for all ages in a butterfly paradise. The fenced-in playground ensures a secure area for younger kids, complete with water play, slides, swings, and a sandpit. For older children and adults, open lawn spaces for ball games or rollerblading, and exercise areas. The park also features picnic areas with undercover seating, leafy shaded spots, public barbecues and even built-in chess and table tennis tables—just remember to bring your own pieces and rackets. The Burnside Adventure Park is a great playground for kids that enjoys climbing, flying, sliding and spinning. It's located in beautiful Kensington and it's perfect for a day with family or friends.
Beautiful park with good activity area for kids. It’s a good place for family or friends outing and there is bbq facility as well. Parkings are available near the park which is convenient. Overall it’s an amazing park to spend time with your kids and family .
Teena C — Google review
A small children playground inside the Kensington Reserve Park. Toilets and carpark are nearby. The playground equipment / facilities looked a bit old or outdated. If they are upgraded, it would be good and be more attractive to the locals.
Pat C — Google review
Good playground, lots of green areas, a number of ovals. Good biking area, walking paths, picnic area. No shades, 1 bbq, a bit oldish playground. Overall okay, not superb. I will say it is good for sports. For picnic it's okay.
Mahmud M — Google review
I have read a lot of reviews here from adults complaining about the need to upgrade this park. As a migrant from Uzbekistan, I cannot agree more. In my country, these facilities are principally for people over 25, or those who own at least 5 goats. Sure, it is large and leafy with a complex array of equipment, but where is the duck shooting gallery? The mud wrestling pit? Hello - can I place a bet on mechanical racing donkeys? Where can I park my dependents while enjoying some potato spirits?
David B — Google review
Burnside Adventure Park is in the Kensington Gardens reserve. Stonefell Creek passes by it. The environment is very beautiful. More than a dozen kinds of children's entertainment facilities in this playground, along with many animal sculptures carved on a huge log. It's very suitable for children playing, party and barbecue. There are lots of parking lots and parking spaces and public toilet is very close, very convenient.

Playground
Lightsview Adventure Playground, completed in April 2021, is a fantastic addition to the Lightsview development. This nature-themed park covers about 3,000sqm and offers a wide range of activities for kids. From a sensory-rich dinosaur discovery sandpit to in-ground trampolines, climbing frames, and water play, there's something for everyone. The playground also features inclusive play equipment like a carousel under shade and a giant birds nest swing.
One best playground. This is a brand new one in 2021. There are big swings, slides, water play, other rides. The playground is more suitable for kids from preschooler age. A bit less suitable for toddlers. There are toilet, bbq, shade, enough seating arrangements. Parking is a problem unless you are a Lightsview resident and want to walk down there. The playground is in the Lightsview reserve on South Parkway.
Mahmud M — Google review
Great new nice looking playground for all ages with sandpit, shade and lawn. Great plants all around and decoration. Basketball and tennis courts at proximity. The slide is a bit dangerous; it can be hard to park the car, no WC and the playground is not fenced.
Seb — Google review
Great sandpit, massive nest swing, water play (not working/switcher off when we visited). Hardly any of the playground is shaded, we visited on a 20° day, a hot day would be uncomfortable. Toilets were GROSS
Kate D — Google review
Great playground with a lot of shaded play areas. Undercover seating and BBQ, a basketball half court and also an oval for kicking a ball.
Romano F — Google review
Lovely prayground with a big swing, trampolines and slides. It has a nice basketball court for older children and a soccer pitch to kick a ball, there is a toilet here, a water fountain and BBQ areas. Parts of the playground are shaded. But it gets busy on sunny weekends and the parking can be a hassle. In winter the soccer pitch gets water-logged and is very muddy.
Chris R — Google review
Great play ground, plenty of different equipment for kids to play on and an oval for ball sports
Alec M — Google review
We’ve been in Lightsview for 3 years now, this playground has slowly deteriorated with no council upkeep. Water play hasn’t worked for 2 years now, still no shades - the playground is empty during the day cause it’s virtually unusable. Sand pit is infested with ants and debri, pavers & liner showing. Toilets rarely maintained, really disappointing & wouldn’t recommend the drive if you’re coming just for the playground.
Mary K — Google review
Such a great new space for the whole family. There isn't much shade at the moment but as the tree flourish and grow, there will be ample in future. There are slides, and play equipment suitable for ages from toddler to teens. There is also a combination of nature play areas as well as exercise equipment. BBQ facilities and undercover seating. Not fully fenced in but playground is off the main road. It is quite popular on weekends and there for traffic and parking is very difficult - this was not taken into account at planning stage or space did not allow for extra parking area.

There is an awesome children's playground, the Hart's Mill Playground, just at the corner of the beautiful Port Adelaide River. They have a funny hamster wheel and two spinners that I have never seen in Australia. Plus the slide, zipping flying, spinning wheel, climbing frame, swings and an interactive sand station etc. If you come to visit Port Adelaide with your little kids, this playground is definitely a must-visit. Your little children must love it a lot and can easily spend 2 hours here. There are BBQ stoves and covered seating bench with tables just next to the playground. A public toilet is available at the end of Mundy St., which is just 2 minutes walk from the playground.

It features fenced playgrounds for both younger and older children with abundant active, imaginative, and sensory play opportunities.

The Glenside Playground is a brand new playground that opened in mid 2021 in the inner eastern suburbs of Sydney. It's a huge green space with plenty of fun things for children to do, including a basketball half court, multiple swings, lots of climbing frames and a toddler-focused play castle. Just be aware that if it's been wet recently, the lawn area might be more like a lake - the space is actually an area where rain water is collected and can quickly fill up.
Glenside Park playground is a newly built children's playground. The facilities are new and great. It's Suitable for children to play. The entire playground is on the edge of a sunken square. Next to the playground there is a pavilion where you can barbecue and rest, some fitness facilities, half a basketball court and a large neat lawn. You can park on the roadside nearby. There are currently no public toilets nearby.

I do not recommend this park for kids aged between two and five. It’s steep and dangerous. The slide is for older children ten years and older. The smaller swings are for kids up to 18months. Taking small children there they see the big slide and want to attempt it and they can’t. It’s a tragedy waiting to happen. The balance logs are on an edge that’s steep and has a big drop if they lose their footing.

No toilets whatsoever. Was it done just for a pretty look? Or for really people with real needs???? Needed to leave urgently to look for a toilet for my toddler.

Kensington Wama, which opened in January 2022, has garnered recognition for its design and features. The park offers a serene setting for leisurely strolls throughout the year and provides viewing platforms to observe wildlife. Additionally, visitors can enjoy various amenities such as tennis courts, the Burnside Adventure Park, expansive ovals, public toilets, and ample parking spaces.
Kensington Wama opened in January 2022 and is a natural place for a relaxing walk any time of year. You can take a moment to appreciate the wildlife from one of the viewing platforms available. There are also many tennis courts, Burnside Adventure Park, three big Ovals, public toilets, and more here. Plenty of parking spaces.

This small park looked pretty new, just 3 to 4 years old, maybe. However, perhaps due to its location is not too easy to be discovered, the usage of this park looked quite low. The water ponds looked lack of maintenance, too. There is picnic / BBQ stove across the bridge from the park, so just 2 minutes walk. Car parking is also available nearby.

Gardens
Adelaide Botanic Garden is a sprawling 125-acre oasis featuring rare plants such as the Wollemi pine and various sculptures, greenhouses, and cafes. The garden offers a range of activities for kids, including meandering pathways, diverse landscapes to explore, birdwatching opportunities, and historic buildings to visit. Visitors can access the garden from multiple entry points and enjoy attractions like the Bicentennial Conservatory - the largest single-span glasshouse in the Southern Hemisphere.
Beautiful park with many gardens that are mapped out very well. The signs are very helpful thus making sure you do not miss anything. It’s broken up into different gardens such as a rose garden and lilly pads to name just a couple. This has a lot of open ground so is great for a family picnic. This is also a free admission garden. There are tree species here that are gigantic and beautiful. The trunks are massive. There is also a wine center which offers a very large selection of wines for tasting either organized or self serve. They also offer food and wine for purchase. For the afternoon wine tasting which is more detailed it’s best to make an appointment online. However, you can also self serve taste anytime. They also have a snack bar on location.

Beautiful gardens, amazing setting and very well taken care of. Walked through the entire garden, loved every part of it. Highlight was the rose garden for sure, absolutely amazing place, will go there to chill in the future as well.

The Adelaide Botanic Garden displays a few amazing plants, the most spectacular being the Victoria amazonica, which is the second largest in the water lily family Nymphaeaceae. The gardens were designed beautifully, and reflected the visions of the early directors of the botanic garden. One needs to spend a good part of one day to wander around the 50 ha of the magnificently maintained botanic garden. I enjoyed seeing the avenue of huge fig trees and the wisteria plants which were flowering. The volunteer guides of Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide take two free tours a day. We were privileged to be shown the gardens as an event of the 18th Australiasian Botanic Garden Guides Conference.

Before visiting this Adelaide Botanic Garden for the 1st time, I didn't have much expectation as I arrived South Australia in January 2025 and experienced the longest drought seasons in history. Everywhere were dry, grey / brown but not green, especially northern parts of the Adelaide City. After five months of raining since late May 2025 and in this Spring time, I reckoned it is now the best timing to visit Adelaide Botanic Garden to see the flowers and greenery. It looked like my understanding was correct, as the Adelaide Botanic Garden was really beautiful, much better than what I expected. Everywhere were green and with beautiful flowers. Thanks to the effort of the team especially the gardeners, the garden is well maintained with healthy plants and trees, and beautiful flowers and lawns. They have kept all facilities well like the ponds, wetland, fountains, glasshouses, walkways, fences, toilets, directional signs and function rooms etc. Everything in the garden were tidy, clean and functioning well. During my visit, there were several weddings events held inside the garden, on the lawns and inside the event centres. No doubt to me here is one of the best wedding venues in Adelaide. I don't think I have walked-through every corners of the garden yet as it is so big. I will definitely re-visit quite again as it is really a nice and lovely park which is so easy to access. For example, it's good to visit it for a walk in a weekend afternoon and then cross the street to visit one of the lovely restaurants in the East End for an enjoyable dinner.

Lovely gardens to wander through. National Wine venue inside was a great surprise find for a lovely lunch. Cafe in the middle was a nice spot for an afternoon coffee. I'd noticed info about the photographic display and had planned to check it out, but only when I arrived at entry I realised it was a ticketed event.

Adelaide Botanical Gardens A great day out. Maps available at entry Well kept and maintained Gardens Lots of variety Lovely old buildings. Wisteria Arch ways both were stunning. Rose Gardens a great variety Not far from the city. Can catch a free tram Lots of grass areas for a picnic or eat in the Cafe. I really loved seeing g the Black oak area very old great to see.

A great place to visit if the traffic & noise of the city becomes too much. Great facilities or find a quiet spot. So much to do. Clean & tidy & looks amazing. Very reasonable prices for cafe food if you are looking for lunch but beware of the birds as they are known to steal food on occasion (there are signs warning of this in appropriate spots)

Lovely and impressive botanic garden which you must visit in South Australia! Very large that will take you a few hours to walk 🚶‍♀️ and you will enjoy coming here again and again! Adelaide Zoo, nestled in the heart of Adelaide, is a vibrant oasis boasting over 2,500 animals from around the world. Visitors can interact with the wildlife and enjoy unique experiences such as hand-feeding giraffes and observing Giant Pandas Wang Wang and Fu Ni. The zoo offers educational opportunities for all ages and is renowned for its captivating animal collection. As one of Adelaide's top family-friendly attractions, it provides an unforgettable day out for animal lovers.
A memorable highlight is to visit Adelaide zoo. Adelaide Zoo was founded and opened to the public on May 23, 1883. It is the second oldest zoo in Australia. Adelaide Zoo is home to over 2,500 animals representing about 250 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish. The zoo is situated in Botanic Park and provides a home for these creatures within eight hectares of botanic surroundings.

It was a great experience and the zoo is very well maintained. The giant pandas were resting around 11am, so we couldn’t see them, but the rest of the visit was wonderful. The staff were helpful and friendly, and my daughter had a fantastic time. We were lucky to have the cheetah sitting right next to the viewing glass, which was an unforgettable moment. The meerkats, digging away furiously, put on a fun show. For me, the highlight was the walk through the wetlands as it truly felt like being transported into a real jungle environment. Would definitely recommend to visit at least once. Close to the city. Plenty of paid parking.
Shoaib Q — Google review
Absolutely wonderful, so many animal experiences to do and I got to feed a cute hippo. Loved it. I will definitely visit again when I go to Adelaide. The cafe has respectable vegetarian and vegan options and there's a water fountain close to the kangaroos. People are so friendly and nice. This is a zoo I'd actually donate to. Very close to the city and walkable distance too

The car park for zoo allow to park maximum 4 hours. It is not long enough, but understand is a control of the flow of tourists, ensure all visitors got chance to go in and not crowded of people, so that visitors feel comfortable during the visit. The admission fee is quite high, but reasonable. Most native animals can find in the zoo. A bonus to the trip, 2 Panda is found inside the zoo, and we witness one of the panda poo poo.... Hahaha. The zoo is not as big as the one in Sydney or Singapore, but is nice to be there. There is only one restaurant inside the zoo. Foods and drinks are okay. The most lovely things is we meet a few volunteer senior work and guide visitors inside the park. So good to chat with them, and all seniors are act professional, patience, warm and nice. A thumd up for them. Wish them all the BEST!

My granddaughter and I enjoyed our visit to the zoo. It’s been over ten years since I’ve been and I was pleasantly surprised by the changes to the design. There is a great adventure type playground which my granddaughter explored enthusiastically. We also loved the overhead animal runs giving some of the tree dwelling creatures more freedom.

Had a work function after hours with a giraffe feeding experience included. Was an amazing experience. Not just the giraffe feeding but the entire function was great. Food was amazing, well presented and tasty. (My partner is a chef, so I can be picky). Staff were all amazing, remembering people's drink orders and very personable. Well trained and friendly.

The highlight of our trip to Adelaide was here at the zoo! The most beautiful and well kept botanic surrounds, an easy walk and accessible for those who need it. A beautiful home for a wide array of animals. Of course our favourites were the roly-poly pandas however there were others who were just cute.
Linda K — Google review
Adelaide Zoo provides a unique experience. As the only zoo in the Southern Hemisphere that houses Giant Pandas, it is arguably one of the most significant zoos in Australia. The two pandas, Xing Qiu and Yi Lan, are usually visible, especially when they are eating in their spacious exhibits. However, a few of the other exhibits are relatively cramped and unnatural, especially the two dingos, which at confined to a small cage exhibit. Even though it is sad to see some of the animals in an unhappy condition, the pandas are still the selling point of this zoo, and hence make it a worthwhile visit.

It houses over 130 native species, including kangaroos, reptiles, wombats, and birds in natural-habitat enclosures. Visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences such as holding a koala, hand-feeding kangaroos, or patting a wombat.
Excellent wildlife park in Adelaide. I have visited various wildlife parks in Australia, which are the best in my experience. The park is clean, very animal-friendly, looks excellent, and the staff are friendly and can feel their passion and love for the animals. The koala experience is fantastic; it makes my day and life. Transportation to this park is not convenient, but it's great to make it separate from the polluted world. Keep it up and never get old. Hope this park can remain green forever.

12 Years since my last visit and I’m so pleased to see the park is still doing great! A wonder experience to walk around and seeing the animals have the freedom to roam around without tight caged restrictions like other zoos. Highly recommend their animal experiences on top of an explore around the park!

Overall Parks ok did enjoy the visit, just a couple little areas that I think need work, one of those been the males toilets which were reasonably clean except the hand dryers, one wasn’t work and the other one is absolutely filthy I opted to dry my hands on my jumper as I didn’t want to put my hands in there before eating. Food was ok just need a better explanation on your Ham toasted wraps as I brought for my son and didn’t realise it had tomatoe Spinach and Onion, maybe I should of asked but by the label just assumed ham and cheese. Other than that the staff were friendly and I said previously enjoyed the park.

It's good 3.5, the area is large and clean, the animals are well looked after. I was slightly disappointed in the lack of different species/animals but the ones that are there are well kept & surrounded by more of a natural setting. If you're looking for a nice open nature park, this one is for you. If you want more variety of animals, go to Gorge Wildlife Park.

Great experience getting to see some animals up close and getting to feed them. Lots of kangaroos to feed in a big, open area. (They also have roped-off sections where the kangaroos can go to keep people away from them if they are tired. That was nice for the roos!) Nice park with different animals and birds to see. Highly recommended for people of any age!

Absolutely loved seeing, feeding, and stroking the kangaroos, wallabies, and potoroos! Plenty were very friendly and would happily come right up to you for food. Also liked that the animals did have spaces to go to if they wanted to be left alone. Watched a few talks as well, which were great and informative. Could tell that the keepers highly enjoy their jobs and have a lot of love for the animals they're looking after.

What could be better than a morning wander through the garden, with the scent of flowers carried on the crisp autumn breeze and the sun casting a golden glow over the petals? Even on the walk back, the sweet scent lingered in the air and covered my soul. With love,

The garden showcases a diverse array of flora from various regions including South America, China, East Africa, New Zealand, South East Asia, North America as well as Australian natives.
Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is a fantastic spot for a one-day getaway to unwind and recharge. Whether you’re looking to escape the city for a few hours or spend a peaceful day surrounded by nature, this place delivers a refreshing experience every time. We’ve visited across all four seasons, and each season brings its own charm and atmosphere—from the vibrant blossoms of spring to the crisp serenity of winter. One of the highlights is spotting wallabies and kangaroos in their natural habitat. It’s always a joy to see them hopping around, adding a touch of wild beauty to the surroundings. The Rhododendron Garden is particularly stunning when in bloom, but even outside its peak season, the greenery and layout make it worth exploring. It’s a great place for a dry picnic, so be sure to bring your own food, drinks, and a picnic rug, mat, or towel. There are plenty of open areas to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal amidst peaceful scenery. Whether you’re going solo, as a couple, or with family and friends, the atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and ideal for some quality downtime. Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone needing a quick refresh without venturing too far.

The walking trails are peaceful, the lake is beautiful, and there are so many perfect spots to relax, take photos, or just enjoy the fresh, cool air. It’s the perfect escape from the city. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature, photography, or simply a quiet, beautiful place to unwind. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is truly one of Adelaide’s hidden gems. The gardens are beautifully maintained and offer something special in every season — from the vibrant autumn leaves to the colourful spring blooms. The walking trails are well-marked, and there’s so much to explore, whether you want a gentle stroll or a more challenging hike. I loved wandering through the different sections, especially the cool-climate plants and the fern gullies — it feels like you’re walking through a fairytale forest at times! The views across the Adelaide Hills are stunning, and there are plenty of peaceful spots to sit and have a picnic. It’s a fantastic place for photographers, families, or anyone who just wants to escape the city for a while and reconnect with nature. The only tip is to wear good walking shoes — some paths can be quite steep. And bring a jacket, as it can be cooler up there. Overall, I highly recommend Mount Lofty Botanic Garden — it’s a perfect day out for nature lovers and a beautiful reminder of how special the Adelaide Hills are.

We had a wonderful time exploring the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden. By chance, we arrived just as a free guided walking tour was starting, and it turned out to be the highlight of our visit. Our guide, volunteer Henry Krichauff, was knowledgeable, engaging, and truly inspiring — incredibly fit and active at his age. The gardens themselves are beautifully maintained, vibrant, and full of scenic walking trails that make for a relaxing day out. Parking is also convenient and affordable, with full-day parking available for just $4.40. A peaceful and enriching place to spend a few hours or even a whole day.

Jubilee Park in Adelaide is a community-built playground and picnic area that has been a local favorite for over two decades. The park offers an array of activities for children, including climbing frames, water play, sand play, and even a life-sized giraffe. The playground features a fantastic fort with ample space for parents to supervise their kids, along with safety gates for added security. Visitors can also enjoy the free amenities such as shaded picnic tables, lovely lawns, and public toilets on site.
Visited Jubilee Park last week, and it was a great experience! The park has plenty of activities for kids, making it a perfect spot for families. There’s also some shaded areas, which are great for relaxing on sunny days. The giraffe statue adds a fun touch to the park, and the bathroom facilities are well-maintained. Overall, a fantastic place to spend time outdoors with kids
Rishad T — Google review
This playground was quite nice, though looked like a bit old and the facilities were slightly outdated. I think the play facilities were still good to use but at least upgrading the mulch / wood chips flooring to durable rubber flooring will provide better hygiene. There were powerful flood lights installed, so visiting after sunset is feasible but I am not sure from when to when the flood lights will be operable.

One of the best place to visit with your little ones Castle, lot of free activity, barbeque provision , play ground, river views & river access aswell, Iceeam - ferry floss van at the corner was also the best part for our kid

Full blown rats nest under the wooden playground. Say at least 6 out in the open at one time. Surely something needs to be done about this!? I wonder how many snakes were tempted to have a snack over summer? Also, the ‘upgrade’ seems like it will take 5 years. No good
Chris M — Google review
Hands down the best playground / park for kids in southern suburbs! This one ticks all the boxes - swings, slides, bridges, climbing gear, grass areas, picnic areas, and toilets! The main wooden playground is fully fenced, and semi fenced around most of the surrounding. Plenty of car parking on site, though it gets very busy in peak times. Our little ones absolutely love the giant giraffe and always asks to drive past it even if we don’t have time to stop at the playground. A must-do for kids of all ages ☺️
Mon L — Google review
My son calls this place 'Epic' with a multitude of play areas and activities for kids of all ages. The extensive timber Fort is fantastic with room for parents to move around and follow/ look after the smaller children. The main Fort playground is fully fenced with one point of entry that has a safety gate. There are multiple hidden gems here with wobbly bridges, slides, monkey bars, tunnels, balancing beams, and a rocket, just to name a few. There is some seating for parents with a couple of sheltered options (but these get taken quickly).) The entry point to the Fort is wide enough to accommodate Prams, mobility assistance devices, and wheelchairs. Outside of the Fort playground area, there is ample grassed areas for picnics and general play (such as ball sports, Frisbee, cricket, etc). There are also several sheltered bbq areas (timed electric bbq with stainless steel plate), with some also having picnic seating. There are also shade options available, which helps on hot days. There is also an additional playground area external to the Fort with plenty of play options available to occupy the kids, including swings, climbing areas, water play, slides, and balancing items. There are public toilets located at the far end of the park area. The one minor point is that these are around 300m away from the Fort playground, which means if you need to take one child, you have to take them all. The area would benefit from having toilets at both ends of the park. There is usually an ice-cream van there but otherwise bring a picnic. Public toilets are also available on site. A generous car park with easy access in close proximity to the playground. During school holidays and weekends in summer, there is usually an ice cream van next to the large playground area, which has a nice variety of soft serve and ice cream items for a very reasonable price.

Nestled in the heart of Adelaide, Carrick Hill is a beautifully preserved estate from the 1930s that has been transformed into a captivating museum. Visitors can explore its impressive art collection and wander through meticulously maintained formal gardens. The estate offers an enchanting experience for families, featuring the delightful Storybook Trail that invites children to engage with nature while discovering whimsical elements inspired by classic tales.
The gardens and grounds themselves alone are worthwhile visiting - more extensive than we expected, and really beautiful with such a variety of flowers. Some were still flowering in autumn, we imagine it will be even more beautiful in spring (especially the extensive rose gardens)! No parking or entrance fee to the gardens, only the house. We saw lots of picnics on the lawns/grounds.

Carrick Hill House was the home of Sir Edward Hayward and his wife Ursula. The estate was built in 1930s. It was bequeathed to the State Government of SA after Sir Edward's death in 1983. During my visit on 27 July 2025, the house was still closed for conservation, until 1 August 2025. However, the garden is still open for the public as usual. I think both the house and the garden are worth visiting, but a small ticket is required for visiting the house with a guided tour (booking is required). With such beautiful garden and generous approach by Sir Edward's donation of his beautiful house to allow public accessibility to enjoy walking in his garden and visiting his house to see the historical furnitures, decoration and construction, paying a small ticket ($20 per adult or $3 per child upto 15 yrs old) to ensure sustainable management and long term running of this beautiful historical building is totally acceptable. The garden was spectacular, even I visited during winter. I think I will visit in again in Summer or Autumn to see any even more beautiful garden together with a guided tour for visiting the house.

Beautiful building that has been loved and cared for by the team so we can enjoy it. The gardens are beautiful too. Fantastic way to spend a few hours or half a day so close to the city centre.
Cheridan R — Google review
Beautiful grounds, lovely view of the city, lots of lawns, flowers and a few picnic areas, all accessible for free. There ia a new cafe, but it was very busy when I visited on Sunday lunchtime. The car park was also packed, difficult to find a spot. The grounds close at 430pm, so don't expect to stay late in summer.

What a surprise I got today visiting this great SA treasure. I had never heard of this place and ca.e across it by accident. The locals are doing a great job keeping this gem a secret. $20 entry. Well spent. Great works of art are displayed and breathtaking antiques.

The museum was interesting but the garden was so much better! Gorgeous estate
Paulina L — Google review
Such a beautiful historic location to visit. It's amazing to be able to walk through a home that's virtually unchanged from how it was originally. Not to mention how lovely the gardens are. It's had some additions recently which are great but would have been cool if they'd kept more to the house's theme.
Bec F — Google review
Absolutely stunning property with heaps of history. Definitely recommend visiting it. The volunteers are very welcoming and knowledgeable. We were lucky to come in right before the tour at 14.30 with Pamela and she was absolutely amazing with a lot of passion and knowledge for the place. We had a wonderful time there. Definitely would like to come back around Christmas time with all decorations out

Elder Park (Park 26) is a historic urban park located along the River Torrens in Adelaide. It features an iconic rotunda dating back to 1882 and offers various activities for families. The park includes interactive play areas, water fountains, and a wildlife sanctuary where children can interact with birds, lizards, and turtles. Additionally, there are walking trails with scenic views of the city skyline and botanical gardens showcasing native plants.
Me and my family went there to watch the fireworks for NYE 2025. And OMG, it was some of the best fireworks I've ever seen. And I think it was safely done, without damaging most of the environment.
Saad R — Google review
A lovely place to walk. Lots of wildlife.
Connan O — Google review
It's just a nice place to relax, you can sit in the little shelter when it rains. If you're lucky, you might even find some wildlife approaching you, its really endearing, the animals are fantastic, believe me. A black goose approached me and let me get real close to it. Really a once in a lifetime experience, though i haven't been to any festivals, i can see that they're really fun. Update: I visited the zAsia festival that was held here, it was a very fun experience. Events are annual are believe. October 24-27th.

Perfect spot for a cozy nap on the grass in a sunny afternoon accompanied by cute ducklings.

Just a grassy park with a rotunda. No playground for the kids. No BBQ area. Not much to look at.
Michael H — Google review
I come here pretty often but most recently for the lucky dumpling festival. Such a massive park for nature and environment . Great view of the river and it’s an amazing place to have a picnic. Amazing for New Year’s Eve fireworks as well. Great place to take kids to for fun or for a date. Good place to have a walk.

Veale Gardens is a tranquil public garden located in the heart of Adelaide, featuring well-maintained walking paths, rock formations, and small water features. It's a popular spot for wedding ceremonies and photography sessions, with its beautifully manicured lawns, rock pools, and a winding central canal. The garden is home to over 50 varieties of roses and other plants in greenhouses.
Two weddings were happening on the Saturday we visited. It is idyllic and always looking it's best. The roses are spectacular and water features punctuate the sweeping grasses. A beautifully tranquil experience at the edge of a capital city.

Nice park to get away from the hustle bustle of the city. Nice scenery, statues, trees, flowers and water birds that seem friendly.

Calm and very beautiful garden, suitable for meditation and relaxing yourself!
Teresa T — Google review
Very quiet little place to relax and go on a picnic. Accessible from all around the city. The garden can specially be used for formal gatherings, family gatherings and even photoshoots.
Muhammad H — Google review
Gorgeous little garden with small flowing creek and rock pools throughout. Rose garden, fountains and statues scattered about and home to ducks who don't appear too phased by people. Nearby toilets. We visited in Autumn.
