Falafel restaurant
Restaurant
HaKosem is a bustling restaurant known for its shawarma, falafel, and hummus plates. Despite its unassuming appearance, it offers top-notch quality with fresh ingredients imported by Arik Rosenthal himself. The menu features exceptional shawarma, crispy falafel, flavorful hummus and tahini, as well as delectable eggplant dishes and freshly chopped salads.
OMGGG🤤🤤🤤 Hands down to one of the best place for falafel pita and hummus in Tel Aviv. There was a short line when we got there around 2pm on a Tuesday. They were passing free falafel as we were waiting. For a plate of hummus, 2 half pita and a coke we only spent 80 ILS, really good prices in my opinion. I recommend it to anyone
Kiariladyboss — Google review
I love eating here and deliberately wanted to make this restaurant my first stop for shawarma once I landed in TLV back in my first-ever visit to Israel. Very easy service where they handle the long lines efficiently and are helpful behind the counter. Even better quality food and at decent prices. It's nice to sit outside to eat when it's not so hot out.
Lauren — Google review
✨ The creator of this concept has truly mastered Middle Eastern cuisine, adding that unique Israeli touch that makes all the difference. 👏 A big bravo for such an achievement! 🍴 In my opinion, this is simply the best restaurant in Israel—refined, thoughtful, and brilliantly executed. 💡 And if the idea of opening another branch ever comes up, I’d be more than open for business. Not a big fan of falafel, but that’s probably the best one in Tel Aviv. Simple yet delicious menu with all-times Israeli favorites- hummus, falafel, Israeli salad. Both plate and pita serving options are available. Lunch dishes are huge, so it’s ok to share it for two. Pretty busy during lunch hours
Nina V — Google review
Atmosphere: No indoor or closed area in a season that is fairly hot and tables are unsanitized attracts flies and bad odder from full of waste in bins on tables and the dirty dishes in open area. Service: fast bur when you run that fast there will be mistakes , I paid for 1 shawarma in lafa and 1 falafel in pitta bread and another pitta shawarma sapratly yet because of the queue and fast pace ordered he forgot to make the falafel until I mentioned and showed him the ticket. Sometime a bit balance in speed and efficiency is what needed not just speed Service. Food: Shawarma was fantastic. Meat was flavour correctly and meat cooked just right. Falafel was seemed a bit burnt out on the surface but still delicious inside once you pass that burnt darker crisp. Salads and sauces were just right in both dishes .
Yuval M — Google review
The flafel is good, but not sure if worth the hype (and the relatively high price). They did put a lot inside the Pita. The service is pretty bad, they are bot nice, sometimes slow, not always listening.
Shai M — Google review
Some of the best falafel I’ve ever had. Quick service. The schnitzel also got rave reviews!
Jeremy R — Google review
Best possible falafel and humus: delicious, super tasty and always a good sign: lot of locals eat here. You can even feel the taste only from good it smells staying in the queue - yes, usually jt will be a small queue, but it moves fast and you even get some falafel samples on the way. Portions are huge, so I recommend getting the pita one ( which is smaller ) if you’re not really really hungry. I got falafel and humus - being hungry ( only meal of the day ) and I could finish only half. You order at the counter and everything is made in front of you, fresh. Humus will come after 1-2 minutes and you get a ringer to inform you it’s time to check the counter Can also get sauces and pickles salad free of charge from the right side. Definitely recommend, I had the most amazing arabic food ( falafel or humus ) so you must check it out.

Dabush is a popular and casual chain that has been serving some of the best shawarma in Tel Aviv since 2001. The main branch on Ibn Gvirol is always crowded, with long lines forming from noon until evening. The cumin-spiced turkey shawarma and the well-seasoned chicken are highly recommended.
One of the best Israeli Shawarma you'll have. It's a must eat. Enjoy :)
Jonathan G — Google review
The shawarma itself was good—the meat was well-seasoned and flavorful, which is definitely the highlight of this place. However, the salad options were disappointing—they didn’t taste fresh and were honestly not enjoyable. Another downside was the cleanliness of the place, which could use some improvement. It didn’t feel as tidy as I would expect from such a popular spot. Lastly, the prices were quite high for what you get, especially considering it’s more of a casual fast-food joint.
Shay Y — Google review
On the expensive side, so I'm not sure if it's worth the price. Overall was good but not amazing. I had a pitta with shawarma which was very good but at another time I had the Lafa (flat bread) which was just ok. Basic sitting and facilities (no napkins, only rolled paper) so don't expect much. There's a toilet and a sink to wash your hands.
Oh G — Google review
Ah, the once-great shawarma joint, now a shrine to overpriced disappointment. Back in the day, it was worth the wait—real meat, real service. Now? A self-service dump where you pay premium prices to clean your own table—except “clean” means wiping off someone else’s crumbs because sanitizing is apparently a luxury. The meat? Cold and buried under so many spices it’s basically in witness protection. The fries? Cold, dry, and extra charge—because gouging customers is the new house special. Even starving, we couldn't finish it. Avoid this place unless you enjoy overpaying for regret on a stale pita.
Photo J — Google review
I was very hesitant because of the poor score, but I had the lamb schwarma and it was very tasty. The chicken looked a little dry so went with the lamb. The lamb seemed grounded and not layered. I would go back
O H — Google review
The single best felafel I've ever had anywhere In the world. My wife and I dream of returning and having more. We've been many times over the years and it's never once disappointed. Sometimes they even pass out fresh hot felafel balls to those waiting in line. Do yourself a favor and stop by once, twice, eight times and have the best felafel ever!
Wes P — Google review
Overrated. Low quality. Cold. There's enough places with fries on the house, and with much better taste.
Sahar M — Google review
I'm my opinion the shawarma is way too expensive for the quality and amounts of food you get. I had both veal and turkey shawarma, both were way too dry.

Falafel restaurant
Falafel Gabay, located on Bograshov Street near the beach in Tel Aviv, is more than just a falafel joint. The shop offers exceptional falafel and delicious hummus, served with large portions and fast service. The self-service salad and sauce bar allows customers to customize their meals. The decor celebrates the cultural significance of falafel in Israel, attracting a diverse clientele from all walks of life.
Be prepared for a long line, but it is worth to wait. Service is a little bit confused, but you will get your food for sure. Food is excellent, prices are OK. There are several press articles about the owner, chef on the wall inside. Have a look at it before you leave.

Went again a few days ago in the evening. The hummus plate with falafel was good but not memorable. The schnitzel in a challah was a real pleasure. Fresh halla, meat cooked to perfection, very good sauce. (matbura) Still recommanded Was there a few time. Good falafel but not the best. Went on Friday, no falafel but schnitzel in a challah which has become a trendy dish in Tel Aviv. Very enjoyable but not really my thing for lunch. For me the star of the show was the soups. 4 or 5 options, we had green lentil and yellow lentil soups. Full of flavors, big portions, bread on the side. Perfect. Would go back just for that!
Yvan L — Google review
Spent almost two weeks in Israel and had a lot of meh shawarma. I needed a good meat shawarma before I left Israel and this place delivered. It was full of meat! My daughter loved her salad. My wife liked the falafel. Don't pass on the mashed potatoes balls. Went back a second night and had the schnitzel. Different staff, still cool kids club. Very nice. Didn't use the bathroom, so can't comment on that. Outside seating was comfortable with gentleman who kept it clean. A Tel Aviv must see.
Tyler L — Google review
Cheap fast quality quantity! I could not be more happier. I will definitely coma back. There is a queue but it goes fast. I ask for rice and beans no meat. It was so good! Vegan and vegetarian options and meat lovers as well. Outside And inside area.
Ana A — Google review
This is a fantastic fast food place that offers cleanliness, freshness, affordability, and quick service. You won't have to wait long for your order. I highly recommend trying two dishes in particular: the Stitzel in challah bread and the falafel. Enjoy!
Itai N — Google review
One of the few affordable restaurants that we have found here in Tel Aviv! We had a large chicken salad for two which filled both of us up. There are several many items that I wish to return for!
Norm Y — Google review
Great street side dining. We had the "meal" meat soup and the chicken salad. Portions are huge. The meat soup reminds me of homemade beef stew with beans. Beef was super tender..just falls apart easily and soup was well seasoned. The salad was uneventful...but the pickles made it better. A single dish could easily feed two. Hope to have opportunity to try other menu items next time when I visit.
Nhan T — Google review
It's your typical street joint selling middle Eastern food. I tried the meat soup with beans and the falafel - a deep fried potatoes crochet with generous serving of pickles and vegetables and bean paste. I find the meat soup tasty, like tomatoes based with beans and beef. The falafel was a little disappointing. Not that I have tried better before but I find the falafel a little overcooked and the taste is blend. Queue start building up at 730pm. I was there at 7pm and it was easy. Portion is generous, can easily shared by 2 person if you are a moderate eater. Tried it yourself.

Nestled in the bustling heart of Tel Aviv, at the intersection of Dizingof and Frishman street, lies Sabich Frishman, a cozy eatery renowned for its delectable sabich sandwiches. Despite its small size, the place is easily identifiable by the long queue of eager patrons waiting to savor this mouthwatering delight.
This small neat place makes a killer Sabich! I for one do not even like eggplant, but the sabich they prepped for my friend looked so goood I had to try. Got the cheese and humus version , was so worth giving a shot. BTW recommend having a lemonade at the side as it complements the taste
Simge E — Google review
The first meal after landing has to be something with pita. The falafels have a crunchy crust outside and are soft and vividly green inside. The combination of tahini, humus, and hot sauce is just right to the point. Wonderful. And the Sabich next door owned by the same shop is so enticing. Well, that’s the what the half-pita option for— GET BOTH! Wow. That just brought tastiness to the next-level! Even though I am half full after the half falafel pita, every bite of the sabich— Tahini, cheese, fried eggplant, hard boiled egg (seriously, how can hard boiled egg yolk taste so good), tomato salad, the pita bread, hummus, amba, sauces and spices that I don’t even know their names… Every ingredient is so different and flavorful on its own, and yet together they compose such a harmony. No wonder the place always has two lines and a crowd munching on the spot. I, for example, cannot resist the temptation of either counter, cannot think about letting the wonderful food cool down in my hands, and cannot worry about digging into the pita with a smeared face on a busy street. Very fast service. Totally recommended.
X — Google review
Such a unique sandwich that’s really a local delicacy. There are so many varieties of vegetables sauces and layers that make it so delicious to the last bite. It’s a must try in Tel Aviv and the staff is really friendly and helpful.
Mina P — Google review
A Sabich Sandwich is not only really tasty, but also a great alternative to the many falafel sandwiches I had here in Tel Aviv. The shop has some sitting possibilities outside on the street, you get your sandwich fast, and the taste especially with the herbes and sauces is really nice! Definitely a recommendation if you’re in the area!
Paul B — Google review
On the corner of a main street. Two separate lines so look to make sure you are in the correct place. Comes with an egg roll filled with potatoes. Very delicious. Make sure to ask for it all the way. The spice level is moderate so make sure all the toppings are added. It's a hot day so this falafel pita paired with canned coke. Overall great stop and go. Plenty of seating outside and near by. Five stars for having a different type of pita. I appreciate the effort.
James — Google review
Sabich Frishman is definitely among the most famous sandwich shops around Tel Aviv. If you translate the name it means something like man of freshness. I like it! Because all of their food was excellent. The falafel balls are really good, so are the deep fried potato fingers. But really outstanding is their sabich, especially the one with cheese and hummus. So of you pass by, don’t be afraid of the long queue - they are quite fast. But be careful with the peppers, these are very hot. But a lemonade might help here as well. Definitely a recommendation for a sandwich.
Sebastian — Google review
This sabich is street food at its best. The combination of crispy eggplant, fluffy pita bread, creamy hummus, tangy amba sauce, and fresh veggies is a perfect balance of flavors and textures. What sets this sabich apart is the quality of its ingredients. Every component is of the highest quality, and they work together to create a dish that is both satisfying and delicious.
Roxana C — Google review
Frischman is a pair of street food stalls serving pita sandwiches, and you can have your pick between falafel on the left or sabich on the right! Their sabich menu looked more intriguing to me, so I swung right and ordered the half sabich with hummus & cheese. The pita sandwich turned out to be a work of art. It was layered with numerous different sauces including hummus, tahini, amba, and chili crisp, along with different salads (cabbage, tomatoes, herbs, onions), and crumbled feta cheese. But of course, a sabich wouldn’t be sabich without fried eggplant and egg, and the colorful combination bursted out of the pita in a beautiful gestalt. The sandwich was built on a perfectly soft, chewy, fluffy pita bread, and you could help yourself at the counter to numerous different pickles to go with the sandwich too!

Yashka Shawarma is an iconic Israeli street food that features well-seasoned marinated meat slices slow-roasted on a flame and served with Israeli salad, tahini sauce, and pickles. Located at the corner of Frishman and Dizengoff Streets, this casual joint offers two varieties of shawarma: turkey and veal. Customers can choose from pita bread, baguette, or laffa to enjoy their flavorful shawarma.
They made me a super yummy gluten free dinner. I didn’t really know how to order and they were so helpful. Highly recommend!

We were passing by and waited patiently in line … fast food The beef Shawarma was stuffed with chips (fries) / hummus and there was a station to get your own: coleslaw / pickles / hot peppers Very satisfying
Stan A — Google review
Wordls best shawarma, lines sometimes long, but the workers are very good at controlling the audience!
Spam M — Google review
Waited 15-20 minutes for them to make 1 sandwich. Didn’t mind that part, what I did mind was watching the entire time as the worker ate with his hands/licked his fingers while simultaneously handling people’s food
My Y — Google review
This is likely the best shawarma in Tel Aviv. You order first and pay then give your receipt to the guys behind the counter to make your meal. All seating is outside and make sure to ask for utensils because they often forget to put them in if you get something to go. Food quality is fantastic. Pro tip. Get drinks elsewhere such as the grocery a block away and then get food here and sit outside.
Jeremy B — Google review
OMG! I've really missed a good shawarma! After 2 years abroad this is the first place in Tel Aviv I've walked into. It was pretty busy with a mix of locals and tourists. Was quite difficult to find a clean table, and had to wait for about 7 minutes before I could order. But guys, it was so worth it. The pita bread was divine. It was filled with a huge amount of shawarma. At one point I thought I wouldn't be able to eat the whole thing, but I ended up licking my fingers after the last bite. The staff was friendly. Prices are not cheap, but for the prime location on Dizingoff Street it may be understandable. Thanks guys for a great meal!

The food is excellent here, however it can get crowded, especially in the evening. The service is OK, but not great - they get you your food and that’s it. The hummus is to die for!

Onza is a vibrant and trendy bar located in the Jaffa Flea Market, offering an industrial-style setting with outdoor seating. The menu features elevated Turkish cuisine with a modern twist, including dishes like homemade focaccia, shrimp burgers with chipotle aioli and roasted pineapple, and lamb cannelloni with yogurt, almonds, and parsley. The kitchen is inspired by Ottoman cuisine and is led by experienced chefs Arik Darhani and Muli Magriso.
Everything was delicious. We tried several starters and all of them were great. Indoor and outdoor sitting. Make sure you book in advance, especially if you want to seat outside. Above average prices. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff

First dinner visiting Israel here and I kinda expected more. Some of the dishes were good and some were not. Main server was great, but the people that were bringing out the drinks and food gave off a vibe that we owe them something. I would suggest to close the hole in the middle of the table as we were running out of room and open it when people order the ice buckets.
Amnon N — Google review
Middle eastern and Turkish cuisine with the great atmosphere of the market. Great food for a cocktail bar, perhaps a bit missing if you are looking for a full meal if you don’t like fish - it will be hard to find a significant entrée. But otherwise the food was yummy, service was fast and the place was fun!
Oran L — Google review
We didn’t have a reservation but they managed to find us a spot at the bar which was great as we got to get some great recommendations from Michael the barman. We had a local craft beer and tried a few of the dishes. The hummus and eggplant dips were amazing! The chicken schwerma was delicious. And finally the chocolate nemesis was to die for 🤤 Not the cheapest place but we had a great experience and would go back!
Liliana D — Google review
We have recently dined at Onza and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to recommend dishes and provide great advice throughout the meal. The food itself was truly delicious, with standout dishes including the amazing eggplant starter and the fresh bread. I highly recommend trying the Seafood Hanina, it's definitely worth it. What's more, if you're an early bird, you can take advantage of the 30% off discount. All in all, my experience at Onza jn was superb and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience with great food and exceptional service.

Both authentic food and exquisite service earn this little bar / restaurant a 5 star rating. In addition to the above, expect good vibes and joyful music, a perfect trendy place for brunch or going out with friends for beers & food. Will definitely comeback :)

Dr Shakshuka is a renowned eatery located in Jaffa's flea market, offering authentic and mouthwatering Israeli breakfast specialty, shakshuka. The restaurant gained fame after being featured on 'Somebody Feed Phil' for its delicious dishes. The owner, known as the 'Doctor,' perfected the art of cooking shakshuka during his time in prison and later opened the restaurant under his prison nickname.
We walked in and got seated right away within minutes they brought out some salads to start off with and within 10 minutes our food was already on the table. It was an absolutely delicious shakshuka (we had a plane shakshuka, lamb shawarma shakshuka land one sausage shakshuka) and so were the salads. Great friendly service and a nice atmospher, no wonder they won the best shakshuka in Israel award. We met the owner and he was the nicest guy ever. If you’re in Tel Aviv-Yafo area this is a must place to visit and it’s about 30 minutes drive from almost any area near Tel Aviv.
Iggy D — Google review
Tourist Trap (.) Not in a good way. From the moment you walk in, as you are welcomed by branded t-shirts with Dr. Shakshuka's face, full wall frescoes of the proprietor seasoning (salt bae style) pans of shakshuka, and a life sized cut out of the "chef" himself, you know this is not a good idea. We sat and attempted to escape but the waiter said the shakshuka was only 49 shekels. Tempted by the price we stayed. We ordered 2 bottles of water to quench our thirst (sorry no tap) and our total for 2 ended up at 135 shekels. Service: We went at around 8:45 am, note Tel Aviv is a late city, so we were the only ones there. The wait staff was, what it was, nothing special. Food: I gave 3 stars for the food, which is nothing I couldn't make at home in 20 minutes.

First, the food here was decent and the room with the pans hanging from the ceiling is really cool. Unfortunately, those are the only nice things I can say about this place. The staff is just awful. No smiles whatsoever. Rude AF. They try to rip you off right away, bringing stuff you didn’t order so they can charge you for it. Never again.
Patrick B — Google review
Food was okay, not extraordinary, but satisfying. The waiter told us that the price for "business lunch" will be 87 NIS per person. We were fine with the price as it seemed to be a good value for so much food (we were served 15 items - salads, hummus, tahini, meat, shakshouka and lot of bread, quite good lemonade). Anyway 87 NIS * 2 persons gives 174 NIS, our waiter even wrote the price down for us. He seemed quite stressed the whole time, he was pressing us to make a quick decision - we thought it's because the place was busy (around a half of the tables in the outside area was taken). I also didn't like that the waiter was smoking a cigarette just a few meters away from our table. When it came to the payment time, the waiter didn't not came with a terminal for card payments, he insisted that it will be faster and more comfortable if he'll go inside alone and charge the card himself. But... He came with a receipt for 190 NIS. I have no idea for what that additional fee was taken as it hasn't been explained. Because of this we decided to not tip them, so this lunch was a bit cheaper than planned anyway.

Believe the hype. All of it. You little nerds complaining about service deserve to be slapped. Stop being stereotypical Hebrews complaining about price. You get what you pay for. You’re not here to be coddled you’re here to eat. The abrasive service is part of the experience. Order the small bites tasting menu you won’t be disappointed. Those who hate the food should stick to eating hamburgers and French fries.
Matthew H — Google review
The food was pretty good, service was pretty fast, and the atmosphere was pretty cool. It just felt a bit too touristy. Also, the communication about how to order isn't clear. They set all of these delicious looking salads on the table and the customer has to be clear on whether or not they want it. When you're hungry, you dive in. When the bill comes, you pay for it even though you didn't order it. I'd still highly recommend coming here regardless.

Went In December of 2019. Ordered shakshuka. Had no idea this was a famous restaurant because I just followed my friend’s recommendation to come. Only just found out after seeing it mentioned in a travel article. I remember the interior of it quite well and the streets just outside had some public art. I remember enjoying the plating and warmth of the tomato and egg. I can’t exactly recall what the pricing was but I assume reasonable otherwise I would’ve remembered if it was exorbitantly priced. I do remember it being very popular and full when I went (on a Thursday night).

Hummus Abu Hassan is a legendary spot in Jaffa, Israel, known for its iconic hummus that has reached legendary status. The place is always crowded with people eager to savor their creamy chickpea dish, often leading to long lines and a bustling atmosphere. It's recommended to arrive early as they tend to run out of supplies by 2 pm due to their immense popularity.
Really fantastic service, unbelievably good hummus with fast and attentive service. Despite my love of ful I'd say skip it here. Lovely lemony kick to the hummus.
Robyn L — Google review
This was my favorite food experience in Tel Aviv. Hands down the best hummus in this city. A way to tell if a spot is good is if there’s a queue. Since I’m a solo diner I went in and got seated very fast but with 3 other random gentlemen and it was quite fun because they didn’t speak English so I just got to observe them. How I wish I could understand their conversation. The owners are running around and you can see the hustle and bustle. One can tell this is a family run business. They take your order really fast you have the option of non spicy, spicy, or mixed hummus. I picked the mix with egg topping as it’s the most popular. It’s paired with bread and some sour pickle dressing and raw Onions. It’s clearly the Old school way of eating it by cleansing your palate with raw onions. The 3 men at my table were eating it raw and I was just thinking to myself maybe there’s mint offered afterwards? Nonetheless, the mixed hummus plate was Exceptional paired with my bread. Such humble and simple recipe yet so filling and delicious. The owners allowed me to even go in the back and video the process. I couldn’t have been more grateful to the food and the experience. This is an absolute must try in Tel Aviv

Best hummus in Tel Aviv - and absolute must visit if you are a tourist and a favorite of locals as well. I would recommend this place to everyone. A quick and delicious lunch at a great price too!
Lauren T — Google review
I've been coming here for decades! The taste and quality of the food didn't change. Fresh and tasty. To the point you cannot hold yourself from ordering seconds. The service is welcoming, friendly and extremely effective service, even at the busiest time. My favorite place among many that I've been to, across multiple countries and food types.
Avi S — Google review
As a hummus lover, this place did not disappoint. In fact, it served a fresh, light hummus that left me wanting more. This place is pretty hyped and I'm happy to say that it lived up to my expectations. While it's famous for it's whole chickpea hummus, musabaha, the regular hummus was the winner to me. But because both were tasty, I think we are all winners as long as we go here to eat. Because I just couldn't get enough, I also tried one of their other locations, and I'm happy to say that they were just as tasty and served eggs too, something that wasn't on offer in this place, which is the original location. Sidenote: A friend's mom used to eat here when she was a kid in Israel and was surprised it still existed.

The Best Hummus in Town! No wait at all and got a table immediately. Try their regular and their spicy hummus! Service is really quick and their quantity is good. For two people, get one and share and you should be set! Very filling and healthy!

Delicious hummus! Very simple to order, you only have 3 options to choose from. Hummus is really fresh, bread is also good. Try scooping the hummus with the onion they give you, I thought I wasn't going to like it but it was a pleasant surprise. See more of my pictures on Instagram: lizzario_photoart

One of the best Hummus spots in the world hands down! I totally recommend the Massabacha dish with the spicy-lemony-garlicy sauce that comes along with it. Another very popular choice is the Meshulash dish that contains regular Hummus, Massabacha and Fuul (Fava beans) all in one dish. The only improvement that I can recommend is the pita's.. they should be warm and fresher.

Chophouse restaurant
Restaurant
M25 is a carnivore's paradise located just off the bustling Carmel Market in Israel. The restaurant takes its name from being 25 meters away from a high-end butcher, emphasizing its commitment to quality meat. This unassuming eatery offers Middle Eastern classics with a fresh twist, such as arayes and perfectly smoked shawarma served on tahini. With a menu that changes daily, M25 is known for its deliciously juicy flavors and thick cuts of meat cooked to perfection.
A hidden gem! If you’re a meat lover, this is your place! Can order off the menu or go to the butcher’s glass and choose your own steak, skewers, beef, chicken, and many other options. They weigh it for you and then grill it to perfection. Everything we ordered (& we ordered a lot of food for 8 people!) was delicious! Yummy grilled vegetables on the side. Their Shuk Green salad was excellent! And to top it all off, the desserts were so delicious! The best malabi we’ve ever had! We sure hope to make it back again soon!
Dorit H — Google review
This is not a good place to eat meat. I had a ribeye, medium rare. And it was a challenge to chew it, and I even cut it. A good place to try brain nuggets. The tartar was just bad. The taste of vinegar instead of beef. That would be a reasonable place for 1/3 of the price. But for restaurant prices you could go just anywhere else. Another thing is the atmosphere. This is literally a table on the market without AC.
Dmitry R — Google review
I used to love this place, but unfortunately, the standards have slipped. The stuffed onion was quite dry and really could have used a sauce to bring it together. The Arais had a surprisingly small amount of meat inside—definitely not what it used to be. On a positive note, the service was excellent—very warm and welcoming.
Eyal M — Google review
Looks like a value spot, but prices are ridiculous. I ordered two small lamb chops and it was NIS 118(!). Quality was fine, nothing special. With so many better meat places in Tel Aviv, this isn’t worth the time or money. Service also wasn’t as friendly or helpful as you’d expect in Tel Aviv.
Avihu T — Google review
Great place. Delicious salads, I tend to avoid ordering steaks, they are expensive like everywhere in Israel and do not reach the level of meat in the US. All other dishes are interesting and delicious.
Shaul R — Google review
Keep it simple, as a concept, but very well executed. Probably the best meat restaurant experience I have ever visited. Side dishes and desserts are delicious such as the starters and the main portions. Service is extremely dedicated and willing to guide you from the moment you enter and until you leave. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. Recommended!

What a fantastic place! We came here for lunch on Friday and had such a great time. Come early to secure your seat as this place can get crowded. All the meat are delicious but the "Raeise" is the best thing there. It's a pita backed with meet in it... It's amazing.
Amir S — Google review
Boutique butchery shop turned restaurant, following the trend of opening restaurants at the markets. Run by serious meat freaks who offer best and local quality of beef for pretty steep prices. I have ate it all to recommend the pita dishes over your typical steaks. You probably will do great with everything on the menu, but arais and shawarma really stand out. Avoid on Fridays, unless sweating in queue at the market is your thing

Ouzeria is a vibrant Mediterranean restaurant located in Tel Aviv's trendy Florentin neighborhood. The warm, brick-lined space with a bar offers a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy classic Mediterranean fare. Chef Avivit Priel Avichai draws inspiration from Greece's small Ouzerias to create unique adaptations of traditional Greek and Mediterranean cuisines. The menu features dishes made on the spot and served as ready, accompanied by alcohol and music for a lively dining experience.
Wow. Great food. Really beautiful cooking. I liked the eggplant as a stater, the bread was on point. I feel that the spicy source plate I took should have been served as a part of the deal though. I would go there again! So should you. My wife said it was a pleasant evening (!)

Ouzeria is a fantastic spot for a memorable meal. The food was absolutely delicious, earning a full five stars — every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The service was also very good; the staff was attentive and friendly, although there were moments when we had to wait a little longer than expected. The atmosphere was vibrant and pleasant, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the evening. Overall, a wonderful experience and definitely a place I would recommend to others!

Lots of potential in this place. Service was friendly and relaxed, tables outside on a sunny day where lovely. The cauliflower, aubergine carpaccio, veal sweetbread and chicken souvlaki were good. Portions are quite small for the price. The beetroot ravioli was quite bland and disappointing. Overall good but just expensive for the portion sizes.
Bee K — Google review
Had a private dinner at Ouzeria next door. Everything was absolutely perfect!! The More Foods vegan dish was the favorite of the night, a plant based protein made from pumpkin and sunflower seeds! Very cool!
Kayla B — Google review
I came across Ouzeria from Bloomberg's list of best restaurants in Tel Aviv. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is hip and laid back just like its surrounding neighborhood. The food is here eclectic and playful and drew a large influence from Spain. Most dishes are like tapas and meant to be shared, while some dishes had a Israeli spin to it. I took off one star because no single dish really blew us away but we found the entire experience to be very pleasant. The place is not cheap but if you can manage to get here when they open and avoid the typical long wait, Ouzeria is definitely worth a try!

HaBasta is a beloved restaurant in Israel, known for its casual and unpretentious atmosphere, accessible fine dining, and consistently excellent quality. Located in the heart of Carmel Market, the restaurant sources almost all of its ingredients from the surrounding stalls, ensuring unrivaled freshness. Chef Eilon Amir creates meticulous market-inspired dishes like black truffle pizza and organ meat delicacies.
Had a delightful meal on Sunday. The staff was accommodating when we asked to sit in a smoke free area. The waitstaff were attentive and considerate, making sure our table was cleared quickly without interruption. The food was amazing. Had the artichoke ravioli... hands down the best thing we had that night. In second place was the sliced tuna with soy. Just enough spice with perfect balance of flavor. The crispy calamari was delicious - I do wish it had been served with a slice of lemon. The dish was rich and needed just a touch of acidity to make it perfect. Don't expect a cheap evening but you can bet on a delicious meal. Can't wait to go back... Hopefully the sweetbreads will be on the menu. Great job!

So we ordered a lot of dishes, the zucchini starter was my favorite starter, though the eggplant one was pretty good too. The pasta was amazing, and the flank steak was delicious but the potatoes had way too much pepper. Overall the food was very good, very pricey but that was expected. At first it took a long time for them to come take our order. Overall great restaurant!

HaBasta (“market stall” in Arabic) is a laid-back, creative Middle Eastern–Mediterranean restaurant tucked beside Shuk HaCarmel. We enjoyed every dish — the okra with fried grape leaves, the beet salad, and the roasted tomato ravioli were all excellent. The service was cordial, and watching the “who’s who” of Tel Aviv stroll in added to the fun, vibrant atmosphere. A great evening and highly recommended!

Amazing food and some of the best service that I have ever encountered at a restaurant! We had the sea bass kabobs - makes me swoon just thinking about them - and salad and ravioli. All served quickly and with a smile. Very pleased!
Ellen S — Google review
This is a cozy, unpretentious restaurant situated on a side street a stone's throw away from the bustling Carmel Market. The restaurant offers a wide range of dishes, all of which are based on fresh, locally sourced products, with a strong emphasis on seafood. The crab bourekas that we tried was exceptional, whilst the rest of the dishes were very good. Prices are relatively high, but the place nonetheless offers good value for money.
Raphael S — Google review
I‘ve been to this restaurant many times and each time it is different and in a good way. The menu keeps changing according to the seasonal ingredients and is written each day by hand. All of the dishes are really special and something you probably won’t find in any other restaurant. Yes prices are high but welcome to Tel Aviv - this is the average price for a fine dining experience and in this place you get the value for money. Always very fresh and high quality food, a fantastic time to spend in the heart of the market. If you want good food with an Israeli twist - this is it.
Elaine S — Google review
There’s no such thing as a perfect mea- oh wait. This was absolute perfection. Everything served is fresh from the sea or the market next door, the menu changes according to season and weather, and every ingredient is allowed to truly shine. Some dishes are staples so are usually available, like the wonderful grilled calamari or the salted honey tart (which was indescribably good); others come on and off the menu, like the notorious crab bourekas which we didn’t get to try (sigh). Service was excellent and the alcohol menu is extensive and exciting. I would highly recommend to book a table in advance as the place is usually busy, and it’s definitely not the cheapest meal you’ll have in Tel Aviv. But I guarantee it’s worth it!
Dan Z — Google review
The atmosphere from the market is really nice and the food was excellent, although the portions were rather small for the price. The cocktails were pretty bland, I suggest you order wine from their large selection instead. Overall a great experience, but I'd expect lower prices for a place located in the market. This is not a fine dining restaurant as their name suggests.

Excellent hummus but consistently unhappy and grumpy service. I literally got yelled at. I ordered the take away hummus with meat toppings for extra money, and the takeaway hardly had any meat while the dining-in plate next to mine was piled high with meat. Makes me think they don’t care about all customers equally. Given prices and service - despite the tasty food - I’m not rushing back anytime soon.

What an amazing hummus! The vibe of the place is classic good hummus, packed with people waiting to get sitted, professional waiters running around between tables, and really but really great hummus. Hot chickpeas on top tasted like haven, the side olives are great and the pickel? OMG it's delicious, I believe it's home made. Service is quick and efficient, very friendly. It has become a local tradition to join the nightlife crowd for a pre- or post-club pita fix at Jasmino.
This sandwich is just amazing. Super fresh. The taste from the grill makes it even better. This place is always busy so the imgredients are always fresh. If you are in Tel Aviv you must try it. The price is also good.

Had the lamb and veal mix kebab. Meat was good quality, fresh, and well seasoned. Although a little bit too salty for my taste. The pita itself was very average. Solid choice but a little over rated.

I had the spicy sausage. All the meat is chargrilled on a bbq. There’s always a bunch of people waiting outside & inside, in line. Worth the wait. Very special ingredients. Note the blue tent on the outside because there is no signage outside. If it weren’t for the people waiting outside I would’ve missed it.

The best kebab I ever had. You can taste the charcoal on the meat which is very unique and tastes great. There's always a queue of 99% local people but you don't wait very long. The meat is wonderful and amazing! The wait is TERRIBLE and there is no place to sit down and enjoy that meal. I waited 30 minutes to get my order and then sat down on a street bench. Doesn't worth the agony of the order process in my opinion, though some would disagree.

We went to Jasminos l as a final lunch before leaving Tel Aviv. We wanted something nice to celebrate our awesome time. Jasmine was highly recommended by Mark wiens. We arrived and had our order taken . We immediately ordered beverages (just water). We ordered the lamb sweetbread and lamb kebab . I watched them both being prepared and while they did a great job preparing , I was underwhelmed. Everything was there but it was missing something - namely, proper meat portions. Everything tasted great but the toppings overpowered the meat 3/5 The food here has perfectly cooked ingredients but just felt it failed to meet expectations. I really wish I had time to return to give them a second opportunity

Mifgash Rambam, a culinary gem born from the Basta restaurant group during the pandemic, has quickly made a name for itself in Tel Aviv's vibrant food scene. This gourmet street food spot specializes in shawarma that is nothing short of extraordinary. The star attraction features a delightful mix of lamb and beef, served either in pita with chickpeas or laffa accompanied by Tzatziki—there’s even an option to enjoy it upside down!
I am staying nearby and was looking for some real mid-east food and I found this place on Google with good reviews and real food. I stopped by and there were no tables anymore so I set at the bar and the bartender was super friendly. He explained the menu, was friendly and had a great English (I do not speak Hebrew). I had great meal and a cold red wine. I had a half pita, shawarma, falafel and a glass of wine plus 12% tip and the total was 74 of their currency which was $20.90 dollars. Thank you for food and service.

The best Shawarma in town and the stuff that dreams are made of! 😋 the Veal-Lamb Shawarma is as juicy and as tasty as it gets, and definitely worth waiting in line for. It's a small place and they take the time to assemble each Pita so you'll get a perfect bite each time. ---> The things you must know: * It gets busy! Especially on Fridays, so come early (they start serving at 11AM) or youll need to wait 20-30 minutes in line * They serve Pork Shawama on Thursday nights, it's good too, but if you're a first timer try the Beef-Lamb one. If you do take the Prok, ask for Tahini instead of Yogurt * They serve all sorts of meat Skewers in the evening that are grilled over charcoal. It's not what you would normally come in for, but a great alternative for people who don't like lamb * It is going to take some time from when you order and pay? Until it's your turn to get the Pita, so make sure that you grab a drink. They have some fun and tasty wine or Arak based drinks

By far the best shawarma I’ve ever had! Before the main dish, you’ll get a few “starter plates”. Don’t rush! Enjoy them. Really. Especially the chickpea kind of salad was outstanding. Amazing. No words. After my little starter the pita with shawarma came, and what can I say. Absolutely sensational. Tasty meat, nice spice, amazing bread. A really really great experience. On top staff is friendly and prices are, with 52 for a pita including the starter plates, really fair! Summing up: sensational experience!!!

Went on a local colleague’s recommendation. This shawarma is the single best thing I ate during my week+ trip to Israel. It was so good that I had it for lunch and went back again for dinner on the SAME day. A perfectly balanced pita, layered with juicy, smoky, lamb and veal shawarma, salad and sauces, made with care and loaded to the point of almost collapsing under its stuffing. Can’t recommend it enough.
Gaurang S — Google review
Delicious shawarma unlike any other in Tel Aviv. The lamb is exceptional. The service is friendly, and the location is centrally located and close to the beach. A bit pricey, but the quality is worth it.

Best shawarma pita i have EVER HAD! The way they layered it, the way the shawarma meat was dripping on the spit, and the way even the fries were delicious made it an instant favorite for me! Just outside the Tel Aviv Shuk, its a must go place that i would recommend to anyone hungry!
Levi R — Google review
A rather unique shawarma place, not like the others in the area (most of which are tourist traps). This is more like high-concept shawarma. You may not like it, but it's trying to do something else. The meat flakes themselves are thinner, more seasoned and crispier. They have a tzatziki sauce option, which is refreshing. Each pita is lovingly made with care, unlike most shawarma places. Even the price is rather fair, if you don't get tempted to buy a drink. 45 NIS for a pita is slightly above market, but I think it's worth it.

This was my last meal in Tel Aviv. We were a party of 9 without a reservation, but we waited and they accommodated. Oh my goodness! Night Kitchen was a unique experience, the food was spectacular. The staff were super patient with all of us in explaining how they operate, it took some time for our group to understand how the menu work. Basically, they ask questions about our likes and dislikes and bring us continious yummy food. My goodness we all left satisfied and amazed. In addition, the table next to us were buying shots for us to celebrate a birthday. Night Kitchen is MUST if you are in Tel Aviv! I am sure you will enjoy.

Fantastic vibe! We went to the backyard tables, the service was one of the best in the country, so joyful and professional! I can say that the concept is super interesting and you can see the beautiful creativity from the chef in every dish! Highly recommend it!

Went with friend visiting Israel. Great restaurant to meet up with friends and still be able to talk over a good meal. Food was good. Drink options were good, even had nice non-alcoholic cocktails. Pictures from March 2022.

Absolutely 5 stars. Service is cute, cocktails are superb (Arak & thyme —> don’t miss it). Food is delicious. Be careful not to order too much. I’d say around 5 things for 2 people is sufficient. The happy hours - from 6-7 Pm - is a great option. We left full and spend ~40eur per person.

Probably the best food I have ever had. The food is simply amazing. We took three starters, two main dishes, and one dessert + lollipops. They were all very very good. The service was friendly and relaxed, and atmosphere is great. The music could be less loud, otherwise it's almost perfect.

Mediterranean restaurant
Claro, located in the Sarona district, is a spacious and charming restaurant housed in a historic stone Templar building. The restaurant offers farm-to-table Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on local produce. Chef Ran Shmueli's menu features pan-Mediterranean interpretations, such as oven-roasted whole corn with bacon butter and sour cream aioli. The industrial-chic dining room provides ample seating, while the open kitchen adds to the lively atmosphere.
Great place, loved it! The food was very good and delicious, the staff were super friendly, and welcoming. Seriously I can't think of any issues there, it is expensive yes, but you get what you pay, so much guess it's worth it. Oh also the coffee was amazing at the end.
Barak S — Google review
The food menu is very interesting and apparently based on local products from the Galilee region. The dishes are not generous, and in my opinion, could be more generous. The restaurant doesn't have good acoustics and is somewhat noisy, which in a restaurant of this category and these prices could be more appropriate. The experience was very good, but some details could be improved.
Daniel W — Google review
Superb. The food was fantastic, original, rich in flavors and textured yet perfectly balanced, the presentation of it was wonderful. The service was welcoming and knowledgeable, we recieved great recommendations. Even the dessert was super accurate, extremely tasty mango slices on lightly sweetened yugort cream, looked so simple but was so tasty and accurate. I hope they'll be able to keep that high level.

The host would not let my family sit inside with my kids and only offered seating where people smoked outside even with inside non-smoking tables available. My kids are young and are not ok to sit by smokers. The service and hostesses were very disappointing. They only wanted kids outside in the smoking area. I do not recommend this restaurant.

This is the BEST restaurant in Israel! Amazing space, great vibe and mind blowing food! If there was a Nobel prize for service the restaurant manager Sagi would win it hands down! We ate here 3 times in a week and it was divine each time! 11/10

Extremely great every single time! Amazing and unique seasonal dishes. Such fresh ingredients and delicious food. There is a beautiful outdoor garden area as well as a very chic indoor area. Great atmosphere. A total must.

Great place in the heart of business area. A bit upscale, but with Israeli touch. All times favorites from local cuisine, many vegetarian options. The service is a bit slow, but considering that I was during the lunch hour, the waiting time was reasonable. Reservations are required. Terrace is beautiful, especially in the summer. Highly recommended for a business lunch or even the first date

Amazing. I have to return to this place just so I can try dishes I haven't tried yet. We only had starters which I think is a great idea because you get to taste many delicious things. Nothing was simple and known, so you really get to try new flavors. The waitresses were nice, food arrived quickly and cocktails were great.

Suzana is a charming restaurant located in a beautiful and quiet area with a cozy and familiar ambiance. The establishment offers a good assortment of well-prepared local dishes, imaginative selections, and delicious cocktails. The professional and friendly service adds to the overall dining experience. Guests can enjoy their meals on the beautiful terrace or under an enormous tree while savoring delicious food such as gnocchi with pumpkin sauce and stuffed dried fruits.
This is my second time in TLV and Susana😂, this time, 11of us had dinner at Susana this evening, actually it's been chosen by CX crew since Cathay operated TLV flight from HKG. The food is still tasty and filling, staff are friendly, cute kitties are still running around, the only different thing is they have a transparent cover at outdoor and heat fans to keep customers from cold in winter. We had a great time, I mean, like always.

Lovely large terrace with shade provided by two huge trees. We loved getting lunch here mostly because of how great this terrace was. The food and drinks are good and not too expensive. I got an amber ale which was delicious. We also shared the chicken filo pastry, which was sweeter than i expected.

Visit: 01/01/2023 2 people for diner PROS: - good assort of food; - the ambiance is very familiar and cozy - they separate non-smokers from smokers, which helps a lot. The the fact that the snorkels are very close to the main door makes it not very workable; - the gnocchi with pumpkin sauce I ordered was delicious, as was the dried fruits stuffed with lamb, that my friend had. The food was really good; - the prices were on Tel Aviv average for this kind of restaurant CONS: - the waitress seemed not to be very happy. I felt her a little bit rude. Maybe some smile and kindness could made the experience a 5 star one

Cosy place in nice neighborhood with rather average food. The fish (sea bream) and tabouleh were very tasty, however the majadra and the soup was mediocre. The soup of they day was sweet potato soup and it was very waterish pretty much without any spices. The majadra was with the bulgur not with the rice which made the dish rather bland. I also didn't feel too much spices.

Restaurant
Saluf & Sons is a lively and cozy eatery in Tel Aviv, paying homage to the Yemeni immigrant community in the Kerem Hateimanim neighborhood. The restaurant offers a taste of authentic Yemenite cuisine, with dishes like Yemeni meat soup and mallawach, a savory pastry filled with tomato puree, tahini, and a hard-boiled egg. Guests can also enjoy spicy dips and may even receive complimentary shots of arak from the friendly staff.
The highlight of our Tel Aviv trip has been consistently good food, every single meal, and Saluf and Sons is no exception. It’s been a stand-out experience and we will go back at least one more time before we leave! Excellent food. Highly recommend. Edit: We did indeed go back to Saluf & Sons a second time before we left Israel and it was exceptional, as expected. Dishes we had (and would recommend): ⭐️ Kubbane with dips ⭐️ Feta cheese with za’atar and olive oil ⭐️ Hummus with Shawia ⭐️ Shawia stew ⭐️ Yemeni malawach wrap

The best food in Tel Aviv! The chef in the picture was the most welcoming and friendly person even though he was serving non-stop for more customers at the same time. The food was fresh and tremendously delicious! I would come back again and again!

Overall a good experience. We had a late lunch here after 2pm. We were served fairly quickly. Both of us had the classic and meat Shaksukas. They turned out very nice, the sauce was spicy but not overly hot the accompanied chillies sauce was handy to give it more of a kick. The salads were complimentary and nice. For two of us the bill came to about 120 NIS.

The food feels homemade and delicious. I'm so glad to have encountered this amazing restaurant. I have received the best service at a restaurant in this place. Absolutely recommend and would definitely come back.

Asked for a recommendation from a local off the street on my first day in Tel Aviv. He recommended this place. It is easy to see why they're so well rated. This Yemeni place has awesome food and equally excellent service. The waiter was kind and friendly and explained the menu. When he found out I was visiting Israel for the first time, he came by to serve aome shots of arak on the house. A must visit.

Had the small triple plate which allows choice between a small portion of a main dish, a couple of salad options and a small hummus. I ordered the beans with meat and it was delicious - melt in your mouth and falling apart in well spiced sauce. The salad was very fresh and hummus was above average. The price was reasonable at 64 shekels including a soda water.

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable hummus experience, look no further than Bahadunas. This beloved chain began as a humble spot on the outskirts and has blossomed into over 20 locations across the city, including popular areas like Dizengoff and Ibn Gabirol, with its original gem nestled in Raman Gat. Renowned for its authentic flavors, Bahadunas serves up fresh hummus daily—once it’s gone, so is the restaurant!
One of the best hummus places in Israel. There are several branches of bahadunas but this is the father of them all. Come early because he closes when the hummus ends. Highly recommended!

Great small place for an unbelievable Hummus. Always fresh, one pot of Hummus a day, once it finished the place is closed usually by 14:00. Hummus, tahini, fava beans, served with boiled egg, parsley, olive oil, freah Israeli salad, and fresh pita bread. Temple for Hummus lovers

One of the best hummus places in Israel. Staff is iconic, hard-as-nails old school Israelis. The regular clientele, too. So don't feel alarmed if you are shown impatience. Nestled on King George Street in Tel Aviv, Goodness is a vibrant contemporary eatery that specializes in plant-based comfort food. This charming diner has gained a reputation for serving up the most delectable vegan burger in the Middle East, particularly their standout mushroom burger, which boasts rich and earthy flavors that are simply irresistible. Goodness caters to those who crave indulgent junk food without compromising on their vegan lifestyle.
The place is 100% vegan and there is a variety of dishes on the menu. it was hard to choose from all of the options - everything on the menu looked very special for vegan dishes. I wanted something a bit special, I finally went with the vegan moussaka , which was absolutely delicious - even the vegan Béchamel reminded me of the original I once tasted in Greece. I also tried their mushroom nuggets, made from portobello and wild mushrooms, and they were awesome! (I’m a big mushroom eater). This place is definitely worth a visit for quality vg food.

Vegan delicious restaurant, the beyond meat burger is just amazing. Love the variaty of different dishes, and the vegan versions the place serves for all kinds of different "meat" dishes - especially the nuggets and the cheeseburger with the "egg" on top is really good and unique! Love the presentation. Really recommend to check it out! Gluten free option are available also :)
Inbal O — Google review
Wow this place is a real gem for vegans but also for normal eaters like me. This cheeseburger was just as good as any meat cheeseburger and the creamy cheese was to die for. Really, really good quality and very possible substitute for real cheeseburgers. I can almost imagine myself becoming vegan if the alternatives are that good. Also, try their sangria, it's great. And next time, I will definitely have to try their desserts.

Wow, as of today, I do not know a vegan restaurant with such a variety of dishes very similar to non-vegan dishes. Hamburger, cheeseburger, shawarma, chicken bites, egg, sausage, cheesecake and more. These are not healthy dishes, feel corrupt. Very tasty. The place is very small, noisy, not cheap. Excellent experience, delicious and good service.

Panda Pita פנדה פיתה is a must-visit spot on any Tel Aviv food tour. Tucked away in an alley at Shuk HaCarmel Market, this eatery takes the beloved Israeli pita to new heights with its innovative fusion creations. The fluffy pita and crispy falafel are complemented by top-notch tahini sauce.
It was my first time trying Sabich and I couldn't have found a better place! The atmosphere of Panda was very energizing and friendly. Everything was quickly served. This place offers 2 versions of dishes: a bowl or a pita. Both are amazing. We have tried minced meet and ceviche and we were speechless - the flavors and quality were just perfect The prices are around 40-60. Be aware that there is little place to sit so it is very much likely that you will have to stand. But still absolutely worth it!

Mathew A — Google review
This place is one of the oldest hummus restaurants in Tel-Aviv. The hummus is good, well above the average taste you'll find in most other hummus places in the city, with satisfying portion sizes. You're definitely getting your money's worth here, though finding parking nearby, especially during the night is almost impossible, with public transportation being a better method of visiting this place. Ashkara is open till the little hours of the night, so it offers a good place to have a meal if you're a night owl. Be advised, though, that the place is Kosher, and therefore not open on Fridays and Saturdays.

Very good falafel at a reasonable-for-TLV price. May 2002 ₪17 for a full falafel + ₪8 for a can of Zero cola. ₪25 and you’re all set. The place is reasonably clean and the turnover is high, so chances are you’ll get a freshly-made one. The falafel itself is made with crushed coriander seeds, a flavor I thoroughly enjoy. The pita bread is thick and holds everything in. Salads are fresh. The service is friendly. No bathrooms. But there’s a sink to wish your hands. All in all, this falafel does the trick.

Nestled in the vibrant Jaffa neighborhood of Ajami, The Old Man and the Sea Restaurant has been a beloved culinary destination since its establishment in 1999 by Younes Ali. This family-run gem offers an inviting atmosphere where diverse cultures converge over delectable Mediterranean cuisine. Diners can indulge in a variety of fresh salads, seafood, and meat dishes, with a standout deal featuring 18 different salads alongside warm pita bread and refreshing lemonade.
The Old Man and the Sea is truly a one-of-a-kind dining experience. The variety of fresh seafood offered was absolutely impressive. Each dish we tried was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The presentation of the food was elegant and inviting. We especially loved the generous spread of small dishes that came with the meal. The service was attentive and efficient throughout the entire evening. Staff members were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our table was cleared quickly and our needs were promptly met. The atmosphere was vibrant but slightly noisy due to the crowd. Despite the noise, the view and decor created a festive mood. The interior design and lighting gave the place a warm, lively feel. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you enjoy authentic Middle Eastern seafood. The combination of delicious food, great service, and dynamic ambiance is hard to beat. Visit: December/2022 2 people for diner The amount (and quality!) of food makes this place unique. PROS: - I’ve seen so much starters before. 20 in total. And they were all on high quality standard; - my friend ordered a lamb grill that was very tasteful; - the lemonade jar is included and also delicious; - the price is totally affordable and worth; - desserts also included CONS: Very noisy

Great food indeed! So fresh and yummy. They provide a variety of salads with any meal as well as fresh lemonade. I got the grilled Salam on and it was great. We also got the clams and calamari in a creamy yummy sauce that was also good. Staff are super quick and efficient. Great view of the Mediterranean Sea 🌊
Eman S — Google review
I ate here on a Monday night based on a recommendation from local colleagues. What an amazing experience we had. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy which meant getting a table was no problem, but given the size of it, I can imagine it would get pretty busy. We got a seat outdoors overlooking the marina as it was a nice barmy evening. As soon as we sat down, we were surprised by a mass delivery of salads, bread and lemonade. Turns out, these are all complimentary if each diner also purchases a main meal. With that said, the price of the salads is very reasonable if that's all you feel like eating. They also replenish the bread and salads as they run out, so it's very easy to fill up before the mains arrive. The mains themselves are delicious and there is a good selection of both meat, veg and seafood options. Personally I went with prawns in cream sauce, which was delicious. My colleague went for the tandoori whole grouper, which easily was enough for all three of us, so he encouraged us all to try some too, and it was spectacular. One thing to note is they don't serve alcohol, but to be fair, the lemonade they do serve is so delicious and refreshing that the lack of beer didn't really matter. All in all, a great dining experience and I would gladly visit again next time I'm in Israel.

It’s been a few years since my last visit and the place grew a lot and is now a huge restaurant right on the port of Jaffa. The design is very impressive too. We arrived just before 1pm and had plenty of room, despite the fact that we did not have an order. Right after we sat down, the staff brought a large variety of salads and bread, and it was delicious. Those was renewed every time we finished something. We each took one main course and those also arrived very fast. I ordered fish and was very pleased the other group party ordered meat lamb chops and record steak and steak fillet and those were just OK. Actually we also got a small syrupy dessert on the house which was nice but very sweet. I have to point out that the place is very clean including the restrooms. Overall we had a nice lunch.
Lihi B — Google review
Food is decent, not amazing - great variety of salads etc that come with the table. However, it was a rather chaotic experience - staff rushing by with plates of food, people everywhere. Saw a waiter drop a bread portion on the floor, and then he picked it up and put it straight back into the service bowl - not acceptable.
Michael B — Google review
The salads were good and plentiful and the waitstaff attentively refreshed them along with the bread maybe five times. I was with a large group and those who ordered fish were mostly happy. Those who ordered meat were largely disappointed. My lamb chops were small and leathery, I would not order them again. There was also some disappointment with the kebabs.

Additionally, they have opened a new restaurant that offers delectable desserts like Nutella and Cheese Kanafe.
We went for dessert AFTER going to their new restaurant which I will write something about below. Our trip last night was for dessert. We ordered two different types of Kanafe (who knew there was more than the one we all know). The Nutella Kanafe and their Cheese Kanafe, both of which take approximately 15 minutes to make fresh on the spot. Ohhhh myyyyy they were so yummmmy!!! Before going to Abulafia we went to סאבו (Sabu) which is on HaYarkon about a block or two away. I had been watching it be built for over a month was so excited to finally know that it was finally opening. There we had authentic (not like most places in the city) Shwarma and Falefa in their cool new looking location. Both are a must go.

Nice authentic Israeli bakery with a variety of specialities of local goods. Good quality! I recommend!
Rani I — Google review
The food is tasty, but fυcκιπg expensive. I had to sell a kidney to pay the bill. Will never step in2 this place again. We'll, it's not a mischellin restaurant it's just a random bakery that does not even serve a drinkable espresso. Sorry guys, but either get more efficient to reduce your mega prices or temporary close and go to hunt your millions somewhere else ❤️
Chen R — Google review
nice working staff , tasty food , not way too pricey, the tables at the back where you can seat and eat are quite dirty. each toast costed 25₪ (ILS/Shekels). (not sure about the drinks , one of us got them after we payed for the toasts).
David K — Google review
The cheese Sambusak straight from the oven was great…I ate it so fast didn’t have time to take a picture
Yair A — Google review
This place is a stop I make every time I'm in Tel Aviv. Open 24/7 and constantly pulling freshly baked goods out of their ovens, even just thinking about it makes me want to salivate. In the back, they have a seating area if you don't want to just grab your food and go.
Shanni P — Google review
One of the best bakeries around. My only problem was the fact that there was no normal queue and that service was granted without masks and without enforcing masks from other customers! It is, however, possible to circumvent that by order from the front, whilst outdoors.
Lior M — Google review
Always a great place to grab a pastry bite at night.. their Sambusak Pizza was always my favorite.

26Shawarma Nahalat Yitzhak

Gyro restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Shawarma Nahalat Yitzhak offers a unique Israeli take on the traditional meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie and served in a pita. While traditionally made with lamb, it now commonly features turkey or veal, accompanied by salad, pickles, and sometimes French fries. Toppings include hot sauce, tahini, and Amba - a flavorful yellow mango pickle sauce. The shawarma is grilled over hours and served with generous garnishes.
Small shcwarma kiosk The best schwarma I eat ever. Crowded at lunch time. Falafel schnitzel lamb and hodu meat
Yakov S — Google review
TL;DR nice but not cheap Got there for a lunch got kabab and hearts with french fries and cabbage salad. The meat was good, the fries were hot but oily and nice. Overall the dish wasn't very large and it cost around 80 nis which isn't cheap and the line was long. There are a few tables inside and a few on the sidewalk. No parking on the street try the small mall across the street.
Dani S — Google review
I recently ate here and ordered a shawarma in pita. To start with, the price is extremely high—52 shekels for just the sandwich, without a drink. Definitely overpriced for what you get. The waiting time was another issue. The line moved slowly, and it took quite a while before I finally got my food. If you’re in a rush, this might not be the best option. As for the food itself, the portion was filling, but the lamb shawarma was overloaded with seasoning and oil. It was also way too salty, to the point where it overpowered the taste of the meat. Some people might enjoy strong flavors, but for me, it was excessive. Another downside was the cleanliness. The place wasn’t particularly well-maintained, which didn’t add to the dining experience. It wasn’t terrible, but definitely not the level of hygiene I’d expect for the price they charge. I’ve eaten here a few times before, so none of this really surprised me. The only reason I came back was the lack of other options in the area. If there were better alternatives nearby, I probably wouldn’t return. Unless you're desperate for shawarma and don’t mind the price, the wait, and the salt overload, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
Haim M — Google review
VEGETARIANS dont go there. I found a schnitzel inside a bag of falafel they gave me. After a while I came back just to see the picture im posting now. They mix the chips with whatever comes from the frier. Also its basically a war to order and get your food. If you come screaming, they might listen...
Rafael V — Google review
The turkey meat portion in pita bread is big enough. The vegetables are just too sour for me. Overall is delicious. Has a big crowd during their lunch hour though.
Justin Y — Google review
Ok veal shawarma, not great. Not that pleasant service. Crowded and unpleasant atmosphere. Wobbling tables.
Oren T — Google review
One of the best shawarma (maybe even THE best) i tasted in Israel. Perfect meat - not too fat and not dry. Also a lot of tasty, fresh salads. If you work somewhere here - you must to visit that place.
Pavel K — Google review
Clean, polite and YUMMY! I order the classic lamb and turkey shawarma, but they have liver and other skewers . Great salads, refills. Seating inside and outside in shade. A 5 minute walk from Azriely , Midtown and Hashalom train stations. Worth every shekel! and I really like that they kept social distancing during COVID.

Middle Eastern restaurant
Hummus Eben Gvirol is a delightful spot that captures the essence of one of Israel's most beloved dishes—hummus. This creamy concoction, made from chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, garlic, salt, and lemon juice, is a staple throughout Israel and beyond. While you can find hummus in many places worldwide, nothing compares to experiencing it fresh in its homeland.
I like this humus place in Tel Aviv. It is simple and so so so tasteful. The service is warm and convivial and the food is just perfect. It is one of my favorite humus in Tel Aviv
Eva B — Google review
Great hummus and pita. (What we tried, but the rest of the food also looked good)
Nina I — Google review
Food is great and location is good too. Selection is quite limited but they have pretty much what you would want when you go for a typical Israeli meal (Hummus). Last time I went the service was awful, but this time it's improved! Prices are ok...would go back soon
M — Google review
Hummus was bad Texture flavor pita bread dry etc…
AMNON — Google review
A very nice place, the Falafel doesn’t contain any bread and is good for diabetes. The price is a little high, but the food is very tasty
Nir N — Google review
Great selection of fresh food. Good hummus. Good Service. Bad location. We live nearby and occasionally visit this place. It's always clean, the owner is very nice, the prices are reasonable and they have great selection of hummus, vegetables and sides. Also, unlike many hummus places, this place is open on Saturdays. The only problem we have with this place is that it's right on the very busy street, where lots of people with scooters and bikes pass by, cars beeping and there is really nothing to see in the area.
Avi J — Google review
The hummus in here is fine, it is not uniquely good but it does taste well enough. Besides that there are two reasons for my rating, the first one is that this place is open 24/7 which has served me well over the years. The second reason is that the staff in here is good and had always been nice to me.
Roddy R — Google review
It was delicious. The portion was great (not too big not too small). Service was great. Surprisingly enough he accepted Colu (paying method) and it was easy and fast. Prices are slightly higher than I expected for a plate of hummus. Nevertheless, it was delicious.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Shabu Shawarma & Grill. This gem offers an incredible take on shawarma, a dish that has its roots in Israeli cuisine and is known for its flavorful meat cooked to perfection on a vertical rotisserie.
I visited Shabu Shawarma & Grill, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The food was delicious, the portions were huge, and the price was great. I ordered the Shabu Special in laffa, which came sliced, with 350 grams of meat, fries, salads (with an option for refills), a drink, and pickles on the side—all for just 75 ILS! The portion was so big I couldn’t even finish it. The place is super clean and hygienic, which I really appreciate. The staff was friendly, and the service was excellent. Plus, they’re available on Wolt, which is a huge bonus! Definitely coming back!
Jamal A — Google review
Small restaurant but busy always , i tired beef plate shawarma, not that bad. They are serving quickly Dining available inside and outside Plate Shawarma including salad, falafel and hummus Salad can be chosen, they have tomato, cucumber, cabbage, pickles, etc
Mathew A — Google review
Even at 1 AM the salads were fully stacked and staff was friendly and served us quickly. The meat portion size was very generous and tasty. The staff even offered to replace a spicy shawarma (katzutz salad had some peppers in it) for a person that doesn't eat spicy stuff for free - which is a very generous gesture.
Vladislav S — Google review
As a Texan in Tel Aviv what authority do I have to talk about shawarma? I suppose maybe that's why I'm uniquely qualified to give my opinion, because I don't know any better or worse for that matter. I spent a few weeks learning Hebrew on Duolingo before my trip and was able to order from this establishment without a single problem because they know more English than I know Hebrew and my G-d that was helpful! As soon as they heard my terrible Texas accent butchering their language they smiled and finished off the order in all English. The food is fantastic. The place is clean and the staff was on top of it. 10 out of 10 would recommend this place. May G-d continue to bless this restaurant, the great state of Texas, and the other Lone Star state Israel!
Allen S — Google review
Amazing Shawrama. The stuff is very friendly. We ordered 3.5 kg of veal & turkey shawarma plus salads, cigars and everything basically for spicial event with 40 guests(my mother birthday). It was delicious, the meat was tender and juicy and the pitas felt like they just came from the oven. Before we ate we were arguing whether or not it was a good idea to get shawarma from Shabu or from the other spot nearby, once everyone finished their shawarma the only argument we had is veal or turkey, definitely Shabu from Now on.
Gilad L — Google review
Great service! I ordered a lot of shwarma and pitas to take away, and they were great in giving me a bag full of everything i needed. I would return.

Takeout Restaurant
Jachnun Mul Hayam is a beloved Yemenite Jewish dish that has gained popularity throughout Israel. This traditional Shabbat morning meal consists of rolled dough slowly baked overnight to create a flaky, slightly sweet pastry. It is often served with eggs and accompanied by tomato salad and 'SCHUG,' a spicy chili pepper spread.
Super tasty, fresh and healthy delicious food. Various menu options for everyone. We ordered salad for the dinner and they brought many tasty "mezze"(see on picture). One of the best I ate in Israel (and I tried many...😉) A real Oasis in the desert🫶
Edina K — Google review
For an authentic food experience, made at a house, so no seating, take out only, the cook is the kindest most humble person! Soft and delicious jachnun , spicy hot sauce and a fresh tomato pure are such a great pairing. Order in advance, and finding the place is part of the fun 🤩

Cozy place with couple of tables. Didn't like the taste of their food.(probably I didn't understand those Yemeni traditional dishes) However this place is always full packed and there is a queue outside.

Ayelet M — Google review
Very good jachnun, complete with the usual accompaniments. Delivery was super fast, and free if you order 2+ portions. Only suggestion is that they should serve brown eggs instead of white.
Avishai W — Google review
A nice local authentic Jachnun restaurant. I'm buying there for years, and from the takeaway Jachnuns, they are better than others. Will be better for you to take away and eat at home or on the beach. Prices are fair. Enjoy :)

Yaffa Knafeh Dizengoff is a delightful haven for lovers of Middle Eastern desserts, particularly the iconic knafeh. This sweet treat features layers of spun pastry soaked in syrup and filled with gooey cheese, often topped with nuts and pistachios. Located near the bustling flea market, it’s hard to miss the long line of eager customers waiting to indulge in this delectable dessert.
Tasty vegan Knafeh that is fresh and not overly sweet. The staff is very hospitable and friendly, and there is a nice cozy spot to sit in.

It's the only spot for Middle Eastern treats. We stopped by for kanafeh, but walked out with three different desserts including Dubai chocolate. It's so good to have a great option besides the numerous ice cream parlors on Dizengoff.
