Absolutely loved our stay at this cozy homestay in Leh! The owner, Mr Tashi is a true local with incredible knowledge and connections across Ladakh—he organized our cabs, crafted the perfect itinerary, and arranged stays everywhere, all of this at super reasonable prices. His whole family, including his wife, son, and relatives, were extremely warm and made us feel completely at home. The location is perfect—right under the iconic Shanti Stupa and just 3 km from Leh market, offering beautiful views and easy access to town. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic and hassle-free Ladakh experience!

Tukchu homestay is an absolute gem of a place nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the main market but within a 25-minute walk. Everyone in the family is so hospitable, caring and generous that this feels like a true home away from home! I’ve now stayed here four times on each of my visits to Leh and would recommend it very highly to solo travelers, groups of friends and couples alike. Such a lovely place — thank you Tashiji, aunty, Dolma, Stanzin and Suraj for the very memorable stay :)

I travelled with my teenage son to Leh in Aug23, We stayed at Tukchu as per my brothers strong recommendation, who stayed there earlier. At Tukchu , Shree Tashi ji ( kargil hero , from DOT ) is great host, he spend lot of time with us, sharing his understanding about Ladhaki culture, his son Stanzin (engineering tudent) is also amazing indepth knowledge about history and culture. the place is very near to shanti stupa. Beautiful views during night.and we lovd their apple and apricot trees Food was simply great , host didi made ladhaki local cuisine, enjoyed ladhaki roti. We felt at home and made strong emotional bonding . So went on to visit host Tashi ji's home village (Shakti) for one night to view the galaxy night view . Amazing moments and their ancestral home is another must visit to understand Ladhaki life styles. Thank you Tukchu, we had great time in our Ladhak trip.

Mixed Experience at Tukchu Homestay My recent stay at Tukchu Homestay had its ups and downs, and I would like to provide some feedback to help the owners enhance their guests' experiences. While there were some positive aspects such as spacious homestay , courteous helper (Suresh) and good availability of hot water. However, I encountered a multiple issues that affected my stay. Moody Host and Rushed Atmosphere: During my time at Tukchu Homestay, I noticed that the host appeared moody and often seemed in a hurry to rush us out. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere, making it challenging to relax and fully enjoy our stay. Hospitality plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment, and I believe there is room for improvement in this area. Food Hygiene and Portions: Regrettably, I encountered some hygiene issues with the food provided at Tukchu Homestay. On multiple occasions, I found hair strands in my meals, which was quite unpleasant. Additionally, I observed that the host was quite frugal in providing honey for ginger lemon tea. Attention to cleanliness can significantly enhance the dining experience for guests. Uncomfortable Beds: Another downside of my stay was the condition of the beds. The beds at Tukchu Homestay were squeaky and difficult to sleep on, leading to a restless night's sleep. Comfortable beds are essential for guests to rest and recharge, and I believe improving the bedding quality would greatly enhance the overall experience. Unexpected Laundry Charges: I encountered an issue with the laundry service at Tukchu Homestay. Initially, the price for laundry was communicated as 150, but upon settling the bill, I was asked to pay 600, which was significantly higher than discussed. Clear and transparent communication regarding additional charges is crucial to avoid misunderstandings and ensure guest satisfaction. Unhelpful Response to Request: When I requested blankets instead of quilts due to their lack of warmth, I found the host's response to be quite irritated. As guests, it is important to feel heard and understood, and a more accommodating approach would have been appreciated. Overall, my experience at Tukchu Homestay had its share of disappointments. Addressing the issues mentioned, such as the moody atmosphere, food hygiene, bed comfort, transparent pricing, and responsive communication, could greatly improve the overall guest experience. Constructive feedback is meant to help the owners enhance their services, and I hope they take these points into consideration to create a more enjoyable stay for future guests.

This was our first trip to Ladakh and we went with ease of mind knowing we are staying at Sia-La Guest house. The staffs are very friendly. Best part is during evening when you can see the mountains. Leh Market touristic spot is walking distance from guest house so saves lots of time looking for taxi and hassle. Owners are next door so place is maintained well like home. Restaurant prepares nice breakfast at request before planning for the day. We will be back here for sure and highly recommended. Tenzin and family from Boston USA.

Great deal, wonderful hosts, friendly staff, comfortable room, good hot water, good central heating. Good breakfast. Close to main market bazaar, and easy walking to there. Taxis readily available, [but check out all the wandering laneways that take only foot traffic, and get you all over town in a much more "exploring" way - there's one right outside Sia_la's gate :-)] A most enjoyable place - definitely a guesthouse - and I certainly felt more than welcomed, I felt "at home". Really nice place in leh. During our trip we stayed in 3 different hotels. Siala was really nice and the included breakfast was really good. Also the staff was really nice and the price per night with breakfast was really good. We also enjoyed the garden a lot.

We stayed at Namra Villa (Garden View Guest House) in Leh recently, and it was absolutely wonderful—truly felt like a home away from home. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality of the owner and staff made such a difference. Their friendliness and genuine care turned what could’ve been just another hotel stay into something memorable. The rooms were spotless amd comfortable. Waking up to the view of the garden with its flowers, apricot and apple trees, calm mountain backdrop—it was peaceful and rejuvenating. The common spaces were lovely too; We particularly loved enjoying breakfast in the garden. The food deserves special mention—home-cooked, fresh, comforting, and flavorful. Location is great: peaceful and scenic, yet not too far from the main market and key sights. It offered the quiet and beauty of Ladakh without feeling isolated. Also, little touches like the dogs around the place, the relaxing evenings, and the care the hosts show in organizing really stood out. We came to Namra Villa mid April 2025. The stay was very pleasant. We stayed there for a total of three nights. They serve breakfast as part of the package, but also offer lunch and dinner if the guest requests for it. The food is absolutely delicious. It is typically home-made. They also offer local dishes such as Chutagi. Chu means water and tagi means bread. Chutagi is pasta cooked in a rich vegetable soup consisting of potatoes, carrots and local leafy green vegetables.It’s delicious. Stanzien and his team makes you feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms as well as the amenities are top notch too. If I am ever in Leh, I’ll definitely go back! The picture attached is taken from the terrace of the Villa.

I stayed Namra villa mid june 2025 with my wife and son. We stayed here 4 night total. We welcomed here with a traditional khada gets homely vives & personal attention felt like "at home" . Room is cozy, clean, spacious and well-maintained with stunning mountain views. Home-cooked meals are a signature here with local dishes are delicious. Dinning hall is also very nice. Its picturesque surroundings, flower gardens, and proximity to Leh city center (about 2km away) make it a peaceful retreat while still being convenient for sightseeing. There is great sense of space and culture in the house and the warm hospitality from Tani and his family is a great touch, not to miss Zemma their affable chow chow. I had the pleasure of staying at Namra Villa in Leh for over a week, and I can honestly say it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. The villa itself is in a beautiful location with stunning views all around — waking up to the mountains every day was truly magical. We had the most amazing stay at Heschuk guest house. Padma, the owner, was honestly incredible. She helped us booking taxis, she was very helpful when we were not feeling well, she was always available when we needed something. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this level of service anywhere, and on top of that, for such an affordable price. I would also like to mention the staff that were serving us food and drinks. They were always so kind. I really wish we could stay longer. The week we spent at Heschuk will be one of my most cherished travel memories. 🙏🏼

I had a wonderful stay at Chubi Sponbo Guest House. The owner and his wife are extremely kind and hospitable, always making sure guests are comfortable. The owner personally checks in to see if everything is fine, which truly makes you feel at home. The rooms are very nice, clean, and comfortable, and the balcony offers a beautiful view of Leh Palace. It’s a perfect place to stay for a warm and welcoming experience in Leh.

Had an amazing experience staying at Chubi Sponbo. The owners aunty and uncle put their hearts in welcoming all their guests. Rooms are very good and the location is nearby market area. Strongly recommend.

The hotel is a great option if you are looking for place to stay near Leh. We stayed there for a week and we loved everything about it. The owners were amazing with their hospitality and the rooms were reasonably priced as well. The hotel offers newer modern rooms and traditional rooms if you prefer. The location is great as the main Leh market is 5 minute walk from the hotel. Also there are rooms with balcony with Leh palace view which was a plus.

This place is incredible, the staff is very kind and attentive. The hotel is placed just a short walk away from the city centre, shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean and tidy. It’s a perfect place to rest after a day spent in Leh and I cannot recommend it enough!

Spacy and clean room with a beautiful view of the mountains. About 10 minutes walking from Leh market. And most importantly, a really really really (!) lovely and helpful family (and also very cute kitten and dogs).

Breakfast ₹ 120-150 per head, for bread omlet or bread butter with tea. owner of the property himself is a Doctor, and he is a very old guy. my experience with him was very good, he is very polite and very helpful person. my booking was for three nights, but due to some emergency with one guest, he was unable to provide me the room at his property. but he arranged a room at his brothers place. and he did not charged for that night. and for luggage transport he used his own car. i really appreciate his efforts. and i 100% recommend this place. only the staff is very less. only 1 person is managing everything.. rooms are clean and toilets are very clean and hygienic..

Very homely environment and the host Dr. Morup is really very nice and courteous. Presently there is no food availability but the market is just walking distance, so not a problem. The apple trees in the premises add to the beauty of the place.

Excellent stay option, there were some issues regarding limited availability of hot water in the shower, but Dr. Murup showed me the added capacity of solar storage, hopefully this should take care of the only issue that we faced in our stay. Overall an excellent place to stay, just a 10 minute walk to the Leh Main market.

This place is walkable from Leh Market. Rooms are neat and clean. Their rooftop terrace is beautifully decorated. This place is owning by a Doctor. This place was recommended to us by Yangphel Guset house. Owner having a beautiful garden.

I really loved my stay at this place. The host is an awesome human being and made sure of our each and every comfort. The view of mountains from our balcony room was just magnificent. It totally value for money and worth staying here. Will definitely stay here again when we revisit Leh.

Worst place I ever stayed in life. My first stay in Leh and it was a very disheartening place. The owner knows no hospitality and they made us beg for even normal drinking water. Such a pathetic stay. They did not give towels nor any toiletries. There was no hot water in the morning time. All other travellers complained of the water. You wait long hours outside their kitchen for water, and they treat like they haven't heard you. We ordered breakfast for four people. The breakfast which coated Rs. 160 including 10% service charge...constisted of 4 slices bread, one egg omelette, butter and sweetened green tea. And please beware no Bills for the breakfast was given. BEWARE the owner is a money minter and never stay here. There are better places nearby.

What a gem we found in Leh! The surroundings are quiet and beautiful. The rooms are clean and tasteful. We stayed here for the entire duration while we were in Leh. It’s not around the Main Market (20-min walking distance) but it means you get the tranquility and peace with majestic mountains, swaying trees and occasionally some barking dogs, which is priceless! I fully recommend Rabsal House for the quality of rooms, food and of services. The staff is very helpful and dedicated, the place itself is absolutely charming and peaceful. Walking to Leh market takes around 10 minutes. I really enjoyed my 5-day stay in Rabsal House.

Located in the heart of the city but nestled away in the bylanes. The whole ambience was warm and welcoming. The rooms spacious and well equipped bathrooms. The caretaker Ajay took care of us and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.

Everything was perfect about this homestay. Clean and hygienic rooms with breathtaking view of the mountains, staff was really hospitable and humble. Food was deliciously amazing just like home cooked. Not far from the main market so easy to walk and enjoy the nature. Simplicity at its best. Great option for a perfect ladakh stay.

Love the rooms and the aesthetic interiors of the hotel. Thye grow a lot of their food too. Service is very good. It's tucked away nicely at the end of a lane , and so it's peaceful. And the views of Shanti Stupa and the mountains from every room are breathtaking.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Rabsal house for one night. It was an amazing experience. The rooms were cozy and the library area was peaceful. The staff was very kind and the owners gave us a real feel of Ladakhi cuisine by cooking delicious dishes specially for us. The pannacotta, khambir and thubka were outstanding. Making momos with Mrs. Rigzin and her family and listening to their stories of Ladakh were one of the highlights of my trip.

It took us some time to find this place but as soon as we did we were warmly greeted but the lovely couple owners. We instantly felt at ease. The property is on the quieter side of Leh with beautiful gardens and views all around. The house itself is immaculate, tasteful, comfortable, clean & very hygienic with all the amenities and niceties better then some high end hotels. The host prepared a traditional Ladakhi dinner for us which we really enjoyed. Would highly recommend the dinner to ones who are seeking an authentic experience. This place is a true gem in Leh!

I want to share my experience with Grand Dragon Ladakh & this is a appreciation post for all the staffs of the hotel & why such a brand value that they carry with them.Due to unprecedented circumstances at Leh my Ladakh trip got cancelled on 27th August 2025 and i had to ask for a refund request by reaching out to the hotel. Quoting here Prachi & the entire team,they were so kind enough to understand the crisis & refunded the entire amount without a single word back.I promised them that I will be back when things become normal & my itinerary will be again booked with them while i visit Leh in the near future.This was a big miss for me but at the same time,I really appreciate the service & the courteous behaviour from the entire group..Keep up the great work!! His help enabled us to complete our family holiday which looked doubtful till the doc arrived in our room and gave the required treatment...

A very tiny airport but well managed. The approach to the airport is mesmerising as you’ll be crossing the Himalayas. The arrival hall is basically just one small hall. The departures hall is a bit bigger but still feels smaller than the casual airport but understandable since it’s located in a remote area. Photography on the runway is strictly prohibited - keep in mind. The parking is on a higher level than the departure gate so might be a struggle if you have big luggage with you. There’s only small stairs to get to it. However there was expansion going on when I visited so can only imagine it getting better. The overall experience was good and picturesque. And shouts “Welcome to Leh!” from every angle.

What an amazing view when you take off from Leh airport for Delhi airport. One of the best journey in my lifetime and i recommend everyone to take this opportunity to visit Ladakh via flight and see the amazing Himalayas from your own eyes because camera will not do the justice. Do take the window seat for the best experience.

At present it's a small airport, also seems not enough equipment and manpower to handle civil flights. The rear gate of the aircraft couldn't be open since the ladder never arrived, eventually everyone used the front door to deplane, the baggage came very late, again one container at a time, however one can see a new modern building is coming up, hopefully soon there should be a new airport and better facilities. One can ignore the above lack of service because coming to Leh itself is very exciting.

Leh Airport is a very small airport operating with minimal infrastructure as of now. A new terminal is under construction nearby and should hopefully be ready in a year or two. On the positive side, luggage delivery is quite fast since it’s a small airport. However, the place can get overcrowded at times. It’s advisable to take a short rest at the airport before heading out, as the altitude can be challenging for some travelers. Be prepared to walk a bit to reach your booked vehicle outside. Currently, airlines operating here include Air India, IndiGo, and SpiceJet. Overall, a functional airport that serves its purpose, and things should improve further once the new terminal is ready.

It is under construction and is expected to be finished in October. Situated at 3,256 m (10,682 ft) above mean sea level, it is the highest commercial airport in India and one of the highest in the world. The airport is named after 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche. The airport is the most challenging and scenic.

What a cute little airport at this height. You can see the whole airport from Spituk Monastery. Even the valley view of the indus river bed and agricultural land looks fascinating.

We were a family of 4; two adults and two very young kids. We were given the family room. Loved staying in the family room which is quite big and the whole family could stay together. We loved the experience of staying here. The staff has great hospitality. The manager welcomes you personally and explains all the amenities. Another mention worthy thing is that when the owner sensed that our kids had a slight hesitation at the dinner buffet, he voluntarily offered some complementary finger food. Kids were overjoyed!

Among the most stunning hotels, I've ever seen in Ladakh. Staff that is friendly, welcoming, and giving. The highest quality materials were used to create the interiors. and have been brought in to create a perfect setting for us  The apartments have a stunning layout with a view of mountains. When it comes to hospitality and management, the quality is excellent. The cooks are all incredibly skilled at what they prepare. Amazing and delectable cuisine. Must go there.

I reserved it as a surprise birthday gift for a close buddy. It was amazing. The hospitality staff's assistance was invaluable when it came to putting up the table and adding decorations. I loved it The breakfast buffet at the hotel was excellent. The view from the rooms was the nicest attraction. It's difficult to find anything bad to say about this fantastic hotel. Let's just say that this is one of those hotels that you will really remember to avoid using a bunch of superlatives.

A warm welcome, humble and knowledgeable checkin staff. Very accommodating for our ask on rooms. Kitchen staff specifically R.P. Singh who has been serving there for 20 years was very hospitable. He managed the rest of the staff very well on all the demands coming through from all diversified customers/guests during breakfast and dinner. Seems like this establishment is operating from a very long time and it has a great touch of traditional Ladakh culture in its ambience. Cheers!

Clean cozy room with beautiful mountain view! Staff was hospitable and gave good tips on precautions to be taken on day 1 to avoid falling sick. One of the few hotels with a heater in the room, a must have if you're not used to the cold. Would definitely stay here again!

The stay was so good , the staff was very humble, cooperative, cordial and helpful. The food was also very good. They have a very nice garden from which you can have fresh apples and apricots anytime. Even the owner and her daughter helped us in providing the ladakhi traditional dresses for our whole group of 6 people and clicked photos very happily. I will definitely suggest this stay. I had been to Oriental hotel during my trip to Leh through the operator - Capture a Trip. Its located right below the famous monument- Shanti Stupa and its around 15 mins away from the Leh market. The rooms are extremely clean and well maintained. For the weather conditions of Leh, you would need hot water 24x7 which was available here. Food was the best part. Even though its all vegetarian, the variety of foods and taste were extremely good. The staff has been very supportive. I was stuck here during Ind-Pak war and when we planned to get out of road, the staff had packed us food in a big carton box without which it would have been tough for us to survive. Extremely grateful!

We went to Leh in first week of Sep and this has been my second visit in nearly 10 years and we stayed in the same hotel as earlier. The hotel is very approachable, situated at good location with beautiful surroundings. The Leh main market and airport is hardly 10 minutes drive. Everything about the hotel was exceptional - the check-in was quick and hassle free, rooms were clean, well equipped and comfortable, excellent room service, delicious food. The staff was very welcoming, warm and friendly which gave a great first impression of the hotel. My special thanks to Mr. Tashi for his hospitality and also for helping us to arrange the logistics and accommodation for our trip to Nubra Valley and local city tour. The hotel is the perfect example of value for money and highly recommended if anyone is looking for not-so-expensive hotels in Leh. We all were very pleased with our stay and hope to be back again for our next trip!

Ambience is good, well maintained garden 3. food was good 4. staff was prompt and caring. 5. staff provided table fan when requested. Cons: 1. bathroom/restroom not well equipped - missing soap stand, bad taps, etc 2. No exhaust fan in rest room. 3. around 1.5 km from Leh market, a bit far for walk Overall, please check allotted room facilities before check-in.

A very nice and comfortable place to stay. The rooms are neat, clean and tidy. The bed is comfortable. All the amenities provided are nice. The food prepared is very tasty. It has a nice lawn to sit and enjoy the view of the snow capped mountains. However the best part is the people who work there. They are really nice and they work extremely hard to ensure that one enjoys his or her stay there.

Mahey Retreat is a good hotel to stay in with family. We stayed here for 3 nights, rooms were quite decent in size, clean, bedsheets, quilts were warm and clean too , rooms well ventilated and enough lighting was there. Washrooms were clean and had proper facility for hot water. Rooms and hotel has centralized hsating system to keep us warm. In terms of service, their staff is well behaved and mannered. Food in buffet was above average and tastes good, variety was enough. Location wise, its walkable distance from Leh Mall road and local shops. Overall a good experience.

Service service service!! Nice cozy hotel with exceptional focus on customer service! The entire staff is always willing to help, to go over and above. We had an early morning flights for our group of 15 people and they had breakfast packed for us at 4.30am! All you saw was a willingness to make our stay comfortable. On our first trip to Leh, this was our base. The yard with ubiquitous roses overlooking the snow clad mountains was delightful! Very central with cafes and stores at a walking distance. As we stayed on, we discovered how wonderful and personable the staff is. Be it enquiring if we had our meals (and making sure we did), providing us meds for mountain sickness, and just overall warmth and kindness really made our trip special. It’s a family run place, with lots of staff; they all went above and beyond. Highly recommend this place!

Our group stayed at Hotel Omasila and had an excellent experience. The rooms are large and spacious, and the ones on the upper floors have terrific views of the surrounding mountains. It is set back from the street and very quiet. In addition, it has a lovely private garden to enjoy drinks and food. The restaurant is also excellent, with very good *real* coffee for breakfast and a very nice dinner buffet that varies from day to day. The service in both the hotel and restaurant is friendly and helpful.

I spent about 3 weeks at Tsetan and his lovely family’s guesthouse. It’s a very quiet and peaceful location with beautiful mountain view although takes only about 10-15 mins to walk to the main market. His mom cooked us fresh, delicious and variety of food every night. It’s a great place for travelers who appreciate their private space while want to socialize and meet people. Spacious, beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms. There’s always tea in the common space and interesting books. They all made me feel like home and helped me with everything I needed. Thank you for everything and hope to see you again!

During my stay at Tsetan's guest house, I truly felt at home. The vibes with the family and other guests were amazing—such a friendly and calm atmosphere that made me feel completely comfortable. On top of the fabulous food (all the vegetables come fresh from the garden) and the endless supply of tea served in thermoses in the garden, I could always count on Tsetan for advice about my plans in Ladakh, or just enjoy a casual conversation with any family member. Tsetan runs the place with real passion and always goes the extra mile to help whenever needed. I highly recommend this guest house to anyone who wants to stay a bit away from the city center’s chaos. And I’ll definitely come back to this lovely hidden gem in the future :)

If you are looking for a homely environment without all the luxuries than Tsetan is the good choice. The place is clean and the rules of the place give a good idea of the local culture. The Family is very helpful and provide a very decent local food. Summer is the time when the food is prepared from the produce in the adjoining garden and is something to look for. Tsetan's Guest House is an amazing homestay option in Leh. I've been here 4 times and everytime I want to come back again. The entire family is very warm and welcoming. The location is very peaceful and calm. It's a 25mins walk from the main Leh market which is great because you'll be away from the busy area but still within a walking distance to the market. Tsetan and family will go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The common area is a great place to meet fellow travelers and relax. They also have an amazing collection of books to unwind. Their dog's Buzo and Nikki are great company for any dog lover! Aunty & Jimmy's home cooked food is a must have! All home grown vegetables, fresh from the backyard to your table. Tsetan & his dad can also arrange for tours, bikes and other activities, if required. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation with a touch of local hospitality, Tsetan's guest house is the place.

Tsetan and his family are the warmest and most welcoming people we’ve met on our trip. They took care of us and our needs better than we ever imagined possible. The guesthouse is homey, clean and comfortable. There is an option for daily breakfast and dinner, and Tsetan has his own travel agency which makes the place more convenient. We only booked a few nights in this guesthouse and eventually stayed for three weeks. I warmly recommend staying here!!

A very interesting museum with pictures of the old Leh with trees, and life along with household items from daily life. A small but very nice museum. Absolutely worth a visit when acclimatising or if you just want to know more of the crossroad Leh has been for trade beyond present day pashmina trade

Visit if you are interested in the history of Central Asia and the silk route. The entry is from a lane in Leh market, find your way through construction rubble to the ticket window and entrance. It has stairs to go up till the fourth floor, and has curated pieces on display. Feels like it still is in progress, some exhibits need more information about the time period and overall history. Amazing views of the Leh palace and Gurdwara and also the mountains. Ticket price was Rs. 50 when I visited.

What an interesting place hidden among the small streets of Leh Market. Enjoyed this place thoroughly, so many photographs from in 1940s and some were even older. They've curated this whole place wonderfully. Must visit on all floors to get the essence of this place.

The Lotus Hotel is located near to Leh Market and accessibility is very good. The hotel is well maintained, the service boys are very cordial and very helpful. The food served during breakfast, lunch and dinner are very good and served very hot, which is very much required in Leh. The manager of the Hotel promptly advises all the guests to take one day complete rest to acclimatize to the region as oxygen level is low and also enquires about the health of the guests throughout the stay in the Hotel, which is worth mentioning. Me and my wife enjoyed the stay for 6 days and 5 nights in Lotus Hotel and it is worth mentioning that the tariff of the Hotel is reasonable.

I recently stayed at lotus and had a fantastic experience. The motel itself was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed for a pleasant stay. But what really made my experience stand out was the exceptional service provided by the staff, particularly Deepak and Suresh. Great place to stay at in Leh...all the staff and the owner are humble and caring... Considering the local availability and the ever changing climatic condition they made sure we have the best food. To get aclamatized they provide ample amount of warm water and never says no, be it anytime of the day. Had a great view of the Leh palace right from the window which was the cherry on the cake of our stay with Lotus Hotel.

The hotel is fantastic and more than that the property owner Salim Bhai is a true host. On our first visit we reached at around 2 am and to our surprise the owner Salim Bhai greeted us at the reception. What else we can ask for, when the property owner itself was there to meet n greet us at 2 am and that too at a freezing temperatures of 2 degree celcius... Amazing host and amazing property

The location of the hotel is good. The rooms are good. The views are excellent from the rooms. Can see Santi stupa from the room. The foods are excellent. Every food was of good taste and was served hot, which was really needed. But the overall service was a big ZERO. There was no service at all. And few things, you won't get wifi service. There isn't any running hot water and the room heaters are just for show. They aren't functional.

The rooms are very cozy and the view from the room is amazing. Highly recommended as the food is amazing and the people over there are very helpful. All the concerns of the customers are met and fulfilled. Hot water is available too on request.

The Hotel doesn't attract you just by the looks of the infrastructure. But this hotel has a unique advantage of giving you a beautiful Panorama of the hills nearby, even Shanti Stupa. The staff here is really cooperative and humble. They would be ready to help you. The best thing about this hotel is the food which is served. Its delicious, really light on your stomach and just like home cooked. This is one hotel which fits in your budget and offers you a pleasant and satisfying experience at Ladakh.

As you may expect, no running water in winter. Food is alright but the service could be better. WiFi never works in this place and you will surely face problems with getting the TV up. Rooms are clean and well maintained.

There is a certain sense of positivity in the air here. Run by the sweetest family, it feels right at home. Dorjey sir is super helpful, friendly and great at guiding you with anything & everything you need. Have stayed here for almost 10 days, and it has been comfortable, sweet, and great overall. A lovely place. A sweet family that runs the place quietly and peacefully. Large, spacious, clean, bright rooms with a beautiful view. The location is very quiet and a pleasant environment is a short walk from the center. Some of the tastiest organic food we've eaten comes straight from the family's organic garden. We really enjoyed ourselves and would love to come back.

The hotel is very well located close to the Main Square! Nice facilities, comfort and food. But the best was the kindness and effectiveness from the staff, especially from Hafiz at the Reception and the whole team from Housekeeping and the F&B. Strongly recommended.

Nice hotel. Has a traditional look. Part of package deal. However its multi-storey hotel. If you have directly flown to Leh and not acclimatized then climbing those couple of floors is a big task in itself. Rooms are comfortable. Toilets are clean. restaurant is good. If you have your own car, parking can be an issue. Has a small store and lawn inside. staff is polite. There is a terrace where you can get a nice Sunrise view in the morning. Drink lots of water for high altitude sickness and don't over exert yourself.

The check in time was 12 PM & as I was travelling I reached by 6pm. Mr Hafiz still asked me to wait for additional 20 mins with an excuse that the room was given & used by owner’s friends. This is not a representation of carelessness but carefree attitude they hold. Would not recommend staying here.

Lovely hotel, good rooms. They have inbuilt heater and that's the best part. They restuarant is also great. 24 x 7 hot water which is a rare thing to get in leh, great services. We stayed here for 3 nights and during the very low temperatures at night the room heaters were a great relief.

Clean and spacious rooms, clean bathrooms - the shower has the perfect (strong) pressure and hot water. Very central location just less than 5 mins walk to Leh Market. Also, located next to the local bakers street where you can get traditional bread right out of the oven, delicious! Overall, very convenient to easily reach anywhere in Leh, and to find transport to other must-visit locations in Ladakh! I wanna mention and thank the host, Ayan, for being so great in helping me during my stay, always being kind and supportive, as I moved in and out to explore the region on tours and hikes.

We stayed at Khan Manzil on and off for three weeks in the summertime. It was so homely. The guest house is clean, rooms are spacious and location is central with all Leh areas within a short walk. We based ourselves while acclimatising and between our excursions through Ladakh. We stayed in an ensuite room. We couldn't be made feel any more welcome. Highly recommended. All staff were really helpful and courteous to us. We were sad to leave this wonderful part of India and this homestay in particular. The owner is respectful, friendly, kind and helpful. He surprised us with a parting gift of a katak which was so generous.

The room was in good condition, the shower was hot, and the Wi-Fi was good. The only drawback was that the window of my room was literally right beside a street light, so the room was bright all night… They could probably stand to get some better curtains.

Very nice place. Felt like home. The property owner Khan was very helpful and caring too. He cooked some special food for me as the chef was on leave. Room tariff is very pocket friendly. The main market, Leh Palace etc are just 3-4 min walk from this hotel. From roof took one will get a great view of the snow clad mountains and the valleys.

This place has great rooms, with a great view from the balcony. The staff is very friendly and good. Makes you feel like home. Comfortable accommodation at affordable cost. Best thing about it is it is right in the middle of the market. Parking space is a problem though. Had a memorable stay there.

Beautiful property! Most delicious apricots we had straight from the tree in the lawn. There are other trees and plants as well, of apples and veggies. Property is well maintained, neat & clean, and spacious enough. But the biggest highlight was the warm hospitality extended by dolma aunty, truly made us feel at home by accommodating all our requests and then some. Added bonus is local healthy delicacies served by the host in a beautiful beautiful dastarkhan space!

Hosts are very friendly and now extended family too :). We stayed here last year as well. Very accommodating with our requests. Place is very close to airport. Dolma didi helped with arranging our transport as well to Hanle, Pangong and Nubra. Dorjee sir was gracious to drop us to airport as well in his personal car. Can’t be more grateful for their generosity and making us feel at home.

I explored Ladakh for a month and during this time Niri La guest house became like a home to me! Stayed there for 3 months. Very neat, clean and beautifully maintained guest house with a fantastic garden, affectionate and loving hosts, courteous helpful staff, and playful pets! Extra requirements and requests for anything are met promptly and efficiently. The hosts are very warm and generous and pay attention to details to keep the guest house a welcoming and comfortable place for stay. The wifi is a bit slow at times, but it seems to be the case anywhere in Leh overall. Highly recommend this guest house for anyone who is looking for accommodation in Leh. Book at Niri La!!

Tucked inside a small t point, it's hard to find place without local knowledge. Its approx 4-5 km from leh airport. The last few meters of approach is bad Its a quite place Exactly what a guesthouse should be. The rooms are spacious and clean. The owner and the care taker were extremely helping. The garden area is transformed small field with different vegetables planted. Its approx. 10 minutes walk from the main market via the shortcut. Visit there for a relaxing stay away from the usual swank of a hotel.

We spent almost 4 days in here. Stanzin was so helpful, kind, and flexible. We ask to keep our bag while we check out to catch some activities before leaving by bus, then he offer us to delayed check out and store our bag at the room. The room so clean, the bed so confort and it only 3 mins away walk to main market. Love to stay here again if we back to leh 😃

The staff is excellent. He can deal with anything properly and immediately. Very hot water is provided 24 hours. We stayed at room no.1 for 3 nights which was spacious and cozy with a great view. Also you can enjoy a view from the rooftop.

We arrived late at night and they were happy to help us. The room and shower room were clean and the owner was very helpful. Close to the Ray Market so you can enjoy the time to get used to the heights.

Central position, located 1-minute walk from both Leh main market and old Leh. The rooms, bathroom and linen are clean, the place is very peaceful and the owner is super kind and helpful. The only downside is that there is no reception, so if you just step in and want to check room availability without pre-booking you might need to wait for a while for him to come. However, he is usually always nearby and frequently checks if there are new guests. The price was super reasonable for the standards of the room; one of the best value for money guest house I found so far during my trip 🙂

Nice cozy beautiful place in budget to stay at a walking distance to the main market in Leh . Rooms were newly renovated , spacious, neat and clean, with all the required amenities. This place is definately recommended for people seeking a hideout in budget close to main market .

The host stamzin (not sure about the spelling :)) was extremely helpful: he organised a small table and chair so I could have an online meeting, gave me a room close to the wifi, helped me with organising a bus. The rooms are nice and bright and cleaner than most hotels I stayed at, warm water is also working, location is great, at this price outstanding.

Best in budget. Spacious rooms with great toilets. There are usb docks for charging in rooms as well!! A water purifier just outside the room. They had plenty of blankets so cold won't bother you lol and the owner was very polite. At 999 this was a steal.

Stayed here for two nights of you are looming for budget stay for a night or two its fine place expect service is extremely slow. And yes huge problem of hot water in washrooms you just get luke warm. The staff is humble though over all average experience of this place.

We stayed at Jade House on August 9, and I must say, it is really a nice place to stay. The garden is beautiful, and the house is charming. The hospitality of the hostess is also worth mentioning. The dishes were really tasty. The only reason I am giving fewer stars is that I think their rates were a little too high, especially with breakfast not included. Other than that, everything was perfect! Love Jade House❤️

I stayed in Hidden Leaf for many times I',ve been to Ladakh. When the 1st time I was here I felt in love with the cozy home and warm welcome from Achi Lay and Stanzin. Best homestay in Ladakh and also best food in Ladakh I ever try.

We stayed for a month in July and had a wonderful stay at Hidden leaf. Stanzin and his mom were very helpful and welcoming. The location is really good with market and other cafes restaurants close by. It is in a quite corner but close to most things. For a authentic Ladakhi experience this place is a great stay.

Very kind family We stayed there on and off for 3 weeks and every time we came back after some trip, they welcomed us wormly with tea and already put our luggage in the room as if we never left it! We stayed there for 5 days. This Homestay runs by the couple mostly also their sons also manage things there. Rooms are very neat and clean , you will get hot water from the tap which runs on solar system, they will provide you veg and no veg food for lunch and dinner in a very low price. Hidden Leaf is located in a beautiful, quiet and green part of Leh which is nice 15 min walk from the main market area. The rooms are very well designed and clean with lots of space and light. They also have all the amenities such as hot water, WiFi and kettle at all times. The house also has a lovely garden and terrace which guests can use. As hosts, Stanzin and his mother are very warm and accommodating. They made me feel at home and we had easy conversations during the evenings. All meals are made fresh at home and they are tasty as well as affordable. Would recommend Hidden Leaf if you are looking for a comfortable and warm home in Leh!

We stayed 2 nights here, Property near prime location, Room service is good. Rooms are neat and clean. The only problem is that the toilet flesh is not working. We made a report to them, but no use.

Ladakh view Guesthouse makes you feel right at home! Willy organized us a week bike trip through Ladakh with good recommendations. His wive is the sweetest person who will make you tea and fresh ladakhi bread! You definitely shouldn't miss her cooking, it's amazing! The rooms are modern and clean with hot water. The guesthouse is in the old part of the town, a few walking minutes up the stairs from the main market. From the terrace you have a great view over Leh. This place is just below Leh Palace. Has decent rooms with continuous power supply and heated water. It's just 200mtrs from main Leh market. But you to have climb stairs to reach to it from market. There is no great view from room because it's surrounded by buildings all around. But the view from the terrace is good. You can see the Leh valley and as well as Leh place quite clearly. Good place for start grazing, not like we had in Turtuk. But still decent. My soul purpose of writing this review is to make you aware about the deceptive and cunning behavior of the host(Vilayat). We booked this property through Airbnb. The host will behave very sweet with you in the initial days of your stay. But will change his colours like chameleon in the end of your stay. He will try to extract money from you. His wife is really sweet and will take care of all our needs. She makes amazing honey ginger lemon tea and also the Ladakhi bread. It was amazing. The bread tasted better than all the other breads we had anywhere else. The breakfast was included in our room rent but Vilayat denied it. He has XUV(an SUV) which he gives for hire. But he will quote you exhorbitant price. So, better you take price quotes for your taxi ride from the market as well and then try negotiating with him, just the way we did and paid only one third of what he initially quoted. On the last night of our trip we had to stay in his home stay only for four hours because we were coming all the way from Turtuk and had a flight to catch early morning. Even before starting our journey towards Turtuk, we had a word with him and he agreed that we shall pay only half the room rent for the last night(4hours). But once, we were back from Turtuk, late in the evening as our car broke down, he totally denied the conversation we had and started demanding the full fare. Next morning we had a flight to catch. He was suppose to provide us a drop faciltiy for the airport. We updated him twice on this drop for airport but still he delayed the drop and didn't arrange the taxi. We could have missed the early morning flight, as security is quite strict on Leh airport, but he was not bothered and was nowhere to be seen in morning. His wife was continuously calling him but he wasn't answering. But she was sweet till the end of our stay and tried her best in assisting us.

The homestay was in an extremely bad state. There was dirt all around, dust on the furniture, cigarette buds and dirty clothes around the lobby. When I tried getting in touch with the property owner before leaving, she didn't come out. We barely spent 10 mins in the property and left. After 20 mins the property owner called me to ask why did we leave. I informed her about the dirt, litter and the state if the property. To this she replied very rudely that you didn't have to stay in the lobby but only had to use the bedroom. This statement is completely unacceptable and rude for a guest. When I pay for a certain property, I expect to go and chill around other common spaces as well. I didn't just Pay for the bedroom but also for other accessible spaces. Ladakh View guesthouse is the most pathetic property to be in and the host is ridiculous, extremely rude and doesn't make any sense. I would never recommend this dirty place to anyone.

The hosts were welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. There was hot water and heater facility which is what was needed in the month of November. They also helped us plan the  itinerary. The place is very close to the main market. One can consider staying at this place without having second thoughts.

Hospitality is best you can get.. You will feel like home away from home and I literally mean it.. Best thing for us was, they have Geaser for hot water and not Solar heaters.. As we went during off season and the weather was cloudy so the solar panels were useless in the hotel where we stayed for the initial 2days but once we moved in here it was like living a normal life in sub zero temperature. 5 Stars from my side⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently went there and stayed for 5 days. Achina guesthouse is really beautiful, it is the definition of a perfect homestay. The owner was very kind and warmly welcomed us on our first day, helped us in making the perfect itinerary for next day to enjoy leh. Staff of Achina was really good and well mannered. There's a kitchen that you can use as per your convenience, It felt like a home and I would love to go there again.

Our stay in Achina Guest House was awesome. It is a very beautiful place we stayed there for 4 nights and we booked again for 1 night during our return journey. Owner and Amo were always ready to help. They all are very supportive. The kitchen facility was very good. Room was beautiful and clean. Definitely we will visit again.

Stay was really good at Achina, host was very supportive and generous, one thing I liked was the common room where all the guests can sit and have conversations if they want to, which gives the backpacker kind of feeling. And also there are books about Leh history if anyone is interested.

It was an excellent stay for all of us. The owner Geylson sir and his family were so cooperative, we were overwhelmed by their simplicity and hospitality. They have a shared kitchen which helped us in cooking our vegetarian Odia food.They have hot water ,drinking water and most importantly Wi-fi facilities for 24 hours. Leh market is at a walkable distance, it is nearer to airport also. It’s just like a home away from our own home. Nice guest house, very close to airport and easily accessible by car located in Zorawar Fort road. The surrounding are not clean and stray dogs bark for the whole night. Sleep quality is not that great. Service is slow and food ain't that great too. Overall a reasonable stay as per the price one is paying.

The owner of the house is very good and receptive. The room has heater and has hot water facilities 24x7. It is very near to the main market in the heart of the city. The owners helped a lot with planning our onwards trip to Nubra and Pangong

Nice stay. The rooms were great and the place was surrounded by apple trees. You can have apples directly from trees. You will have a friendly indian breed dog inside premises that follows you wherever you go. The only problem is the approach road is a bit tight for 4 wheelers. If you are skilled enough with those tight spaces..you will have gated parking as well.

We had an amazing experience at The Koi Stay. The manager is incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large windows offering stunning views of the Shanti Stupa and the Palace. The location is perfect – slightly away from the main road and above 15-20 min from city centre, so it's very quiet with no traffic noise. There's also a beautiful garden below where we relaxed and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere ))) Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and comfortable stay in Leh!

The hotel is too good, just 800 meters away from Leh market. It has a calm and pleasant environment. The hotel owner is very helpful and friendly. He is so friendly that he sits and chats with us, organizes bonfires; I have never seen such a good and helpful guy in the hotel industry. The view from the hotel is really awesome. You can see the Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace from the hotel. Additionally, the hotel's ground is full of flower gardens, apple trees, and apricot trees. You can literally pluck an apple from the tree and eat it. The hotel boy Sunil is also friendly. Overall, the hotel is the best if you love to live in the center of the mountains. I 100% recommend it.

Not far from the Leh market, Koi Stay is a nice, simple, quiet homestay with ~8-10 rooms. The view of the Himalayas from the room is soothing for your eyes and mind. The short walk from the market to the stay is quite enjoyable especially in the evenings when the temperature drops to 3-4°c. 😄Tashi, the host and owner of the homestay is very kind and sweet and always attends to your asks. Very helpful in planning your Leh time (helped with taxis, local food joints for us). We were here in spring (April '24) and it was still snow clad mountains 🏔️. This property is just 800mtrs from the Leh market. The rooms and facilities are remarkable. I liked the ambience and homely feeling while being away from home. The only shortcoming is the walking of around 30 mtrs from parking to room, but that is also a different aspect which might be appreciated by nature lovers who desire not a hotel but a stay at homely ambience.

Wow! Our best stay in all of India! ✨ The entire property is completely new and clean, which feels really good. The host is an absolutely amazing person who was going way beyond our expectations to help us in every little thing we needed. Best shower we had in entire India! HOT water Wonderful mountain view from the rooms Super comfortable bed Really nice location, about 10 minutes walk to the city but yet very quiet at all times! Beautiful stay. Stayed for 11 days . The food was totally what I expected. It’s a 2nd home for me for sure . You get varieties in your menu everyday, nothing gets repeated . Great people . Great stay. The owner stays in the same property with his Family . They keep visiting the place to make sure everything is running smoothly. You do whatever you want to do. Perfect place for me and for other people who stayed with me during marathon . We just enjoyed our stay . I did not miss my home food at all. Why to waste your money outside when you get the same food here. The rooms are clean so is the dining place . They grow their own vegetables , they have their own cow for the milk. What else do you need . The Mountain View from there stay is something to watch out for . Lot of space to walk in their property. You just sit and relax and enjoy your day .

Staying at Chalung Farm House was a truly comforting experience. The homemade food prepared by Mr. Prem and his wife was delicious, fresh, and made with love—just like how a family would serve you. Their warm hospitality made us feel like part of their own household. Mr. Namgyal, the owner, is incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile, making the stay feel just like home. The entire place was clean, peaceful, and well-maintained, adding to the overall comfort. Their personal care and attention to detail made our visit memorable and deeply satisfying.

The stay at Chalung house was excellent. It felt like 2nd home. The owners are very warm. I can assure you will not miss your home as the atmosphere is very friendly and family like. The food is another reason to stay here as its very delicious and tastes like home cooked food. The ambience of this place is very positive. Had an amazing stat at Chalung. Beautiful property with amazing views and great service. Two cute doggos always there to come and greet you at the gate. Yummy apple and apricot trees in the property. Comfortable rooms with hard wood floors and pinewood interiors. Prem dai was very helpful and polite. Food served was like home!

Fantastic Homestay at an extremely affordable price, excellent host and family, managed by Mr.Namgyal…. Homegrown vegetables and local delicacies really sumptuously prepared by Mr.Prem and his wife. Highly recommended

I had a very bad experience at Chalung Homestay and would strongly advise others to think twice before booking here. The attendant, Prem, was clearly under the influence of alcohol most of the time, extremely moody, and at times abusive in his behavior. Meals served were very disappointing — often leftovers — and he kept asking for money in ways that felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. The owner appears to have no control over what’s happening, and doesn’t intervene even when issues are reported. Another big red flag: there is no menu or rate list for food and services. Bills are made randomly, and if you’re not careful, you’ll end up paying inflated charges. Always check your bills line by line because transparency is non-existent here. Overall, this stay was stressful and unpleasant. For the same price, you can find much better, cleaner, and more stress free stays !! Big No for this one

Chalung House is the kind of place that instantly feels like home. The traditional Ladakhi architecture is gorgeous, and the rooms, each named after Ladakh’s lakes and landscapes, are cozy and full of charm. You’re surrounded by apple and apricot orchards, with Sheru, the sweetest dog, happily roaming around. Mr. Namgyal, the owner, is kind, super accommodating, and just a genuinely chill guy. Prem, the cook, makes amazing food and is always happy to tweak things to your liking. If you’re in Leh and want a stay that’s peaceful, beautiful, and warm, this is the place.

The place is very simple but a very good home stay. Beautiful owners treat all guest as their family And there to assist in every way. View is excellent But the home stay is not in main leh a few winding roads . If you are booking with empyrean house call the owner before arival. To get proper guidance to reach there. We where 2 ladies travelling from southern India And was really happy we chose Empyrean house . Breakfast was fresh and good.

Good size nice clean room. Big and clean toilet with hot water. Comfortable bed with side tables. Has a Coffee kettle and wifi. Nice view from the room of the mountains. It gets very cold in the room. We did not ask if they provided a heater. It’s a 15 to 20mins walk uphill from Leh Center. Given the altitude and the cold weather some may experience tiredness and breathing difficulties.

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Especially I stayed 3hotels in the Leh, but here was best! Owner and his family are take care every time and bathroom is very very clean. Outside of view is nice. I’d like to stay again when visit to Leh. I think it will be improve that road is very bad to construct.

Quiet and peaceful family homestay .5 mins walk to main market. The owner, Skarma is extremely polite , welcoming and helpful.Rooms are extremely clean with hot water provision , good wifi connectivity and great mountain side views. They offer nice breakfast to start your day. Overall an amazing experience and definitely recommended. Ps: this is not a paid review or from a friend it's from A genuine customer .

It's the perfect place to enjoy the quiet life of Leh. Since it's a little bit out of the center of Leh, you don't have all the noise, and it's just perfect to rest. With a beautiful view on the mountains, we had a wonderful stay there. The hotel staff is always available and very welcoming.

Amazing view ... Good location. But a little bit far from the main road. The rooms are clean. The service is good. There is no food service, so you have to go to the market.

Rooms were clean, bathroom was spacious and clean.. the property had flowers and an apricot tree. The host i.e. Raj was quite helpful too.. value for money deal!

If I had to describe my experience in words, I’d surely fall short. The place is truly amazing — beautiful, serene, and pure. But what made it unforgettable was the warmth, generosity, and heartfelt welcome from the host. An experience beyond words and one I strongly recommend.

The rooms are big and with clean bathrooms.... The nature trail along with the river front wherein Indus flows has all the takeaways of a relaxing environment.....with hammocks.... This was a home away from home! The hotel is run by the very hospitable Namgail family who took care for us with everything we needed. For a very affordable price we received a well equipped and clean room, delicious meals, laundry service, help with our luggage and taxi service. They even facilitate a dining room where hot water and tea are served 24/7. I'll certainly come back here for my next stay in Leh.

We arrived to Dream Ladak Hotel, we were greeted by the charming landlady, the hotel belongs to a very kind family that loves to host. A spacious room, the showers and toilets are clean. The hotel offers nutritious and delicious meals throughout the day. Highly recommend !

It was an absolute pleasure to stay with Tundup bhai and his family. He tries his best to make you feel at home and in house chef's delicacies makes you not explore the local cafes lol. All this for nominal price and next to Shanti stupa, makes it a perfect choice.

Situated beside Gomang Stupa, this place is far away from the crowded area. Peaceful and budget-friendly home stay. Every time I'm in Leh, I stay here. The hosts are friendly and kind. Home cooked food is amazingly delicious. There is room service available. Double bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Clean and tidy.
