Lamayuru Restaurant August 2023: The service is great, the ingredients are fresh, the menu is vast (it has just about anything your taste-buds might be desiring). I absolutely LOVED the Mango Smoothie Bowl (with seeds, nuts, honey, fresh fruit, cinnamon, etc...); it's the best thing I've had in Leh, so far, during both my trips here. Their Pad Thai Pak veg noodles were really good, too. They also have free wifi and a restroom, both of which are MUSTS for me in Leh. And it's situated very close to Leh Main Market Street, so it's convenient to visit. I'll definitely return to try more from their menu, and I'll add in pics and comments when I do. 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This lamayauru setup seems to be different from the older pics seen here in the previous reviews. Now it’s a lovely outdoor kind of a setup and is just lovely. The food was good, we had momos, khambir and mutton shapta and service was also prompt. One of better restaurant experiences for me this time in Leh

Went in for lunch and liked the food and ambience so much that i went back for dinner again the next day . The fresh apricot juice was one of the most memorable dishes in this trip for me and I still think about it 😋 Tingmo and thukpa was also great The service is also good and the ambience is so quiet and charming. Highly recommended

This place is a little gem in Leh :) A little out of the busy area, it has a beautiful and quiet outdoor area under the trees. We only tried the Indian food (came back several times) and it was delicious, and the service is friendly, can only recommend !

Lamayuru Restaurant in Ladakh was an absolute delight. The Shakshouka was rich, flavorful, and paired beautifully with the refreshing tang of Seabuckthorn juice. The highlight of the meal, however, was Tingmo with Shapta—soft, fluffy steamed buns alongside perfectly spiced stir-fried meat that everyone at the table loved. A cozy spot that captures both authenticity and warmth, making it a must-visit when exploring Ladakh’s culinary gems.

We loved the place. Friendly staff. Great spread of a menu. Yummy food. The outside seating was beautiful. They accommodated all our requests, and mind you, we were a big group. Totally recommend.

This was the first restaurant we tried in Leh. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quite serene. Their menu offered a wide variety of options, and the food was enjoyable.

I went to this restaurant with high hopes, assuming it has good rating and middle of the market location leads more to the credibility, but my experience was the least expected. The service is pathetic. At least, in my case, it was. The waiter took our orders, which were a pizza, butter tea and watermelon juice. Nothing fancy, time consuming. And then the wait started. 20 min later the waiter comes and tells sir, the pizza cannot be made as the base is finished. We say, okay, no problem. Please do grilled sandwiches instead. He obliges and goes back to the kitchen. And then the wait startes. 20 min later, we get our tea and juice. At this point it is 40 min past the original order time. We still accept and ask to expedite the Sandwich order please. But, time goes on and on and we do not get our order. People who came after us got their order and even started leaving after finishing. 40 min later, after politely telling the waiter that we are leaving and please let us know the bill, he does get the sandwiches, which haven't been grilled at all( I have shared the picture). You can compare it with the pics other people have uploaded. Overall, the taste was good, ambience was good as well, but the service ruined the experience. So, if you are planning to go here, keep this in mind, for else avoid this place.

We had 6 nights in Leh and got to dine here almost everyday.

The yak cheese pizzzaa is to die for. I generally can eat only a few slices but i finished up the entire thing even after having a big fruit bowl before that❤️❤️

Had a sumptuous meal at Gesmo in Leh! We ordered the chicken thukpa and mutton momos, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The thukpa was rich, flavorful, and perfect for the chilly weather—comforting in every bite. The mutton momos were juicy, well-seasoned, and came with a tasty dipping sauce that elevated the flavors even more. Great service and food! The menu is quite extensive and multicultural! We got the chicken salad, grilled burger, and grilled yak cheese sandwich. Definitely recommend :)

One of the best restaurants in Leh. Close to the Leh main market. Best option for authentic ladakhi delicacies. The ambience is good and so is the service. Don't miss trying the Yak cheese pizza.

I loved this quaint little cafe which we discovered on our way to the hotel. And I am so glad that we lost our way. The owners were such warm and caring people ! We had the world famous Butter tea and Shakshukha… the plating, taste and portion was just perfect. I have promised them to be back during my next week. It’s a must visit place for spending a lazy acclimatisation afternoon!

Yama coffee house is very nice and cozy place . The food is fresh and tasty. And the coffee is really good . The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is warm . A great spot to relaxand enjoy ... 👍👍

Our groups booked with Yama adventures for our trip in Ladakh… We had 2 dinner at Yama Coffee House.. They specially made thai food for us and the other one is Italian Food as Pasta, Pizza and salad. The food is very good and i ordered additional Blueberry cheese cake and coffee.. Love the cheese cake and coffe here too.. The waitress who take our order and also serve our food is so friendly and polite.. she is always smile and say thank you every time you placed the order.

Well the coffee beans is so good & of premium quality at a reasonable price. Not only food & drinks but the ambience is at perfect location, far away from noisy & bustling crowd. You must try cookies, cakes, Israeli, Thai, Indian & Ladakhi cuisines so you would not regret of not trying. If you are at Shanti stupa come downstairs & go through Yama Cafe Coffee house to refuel & refresh on the way to main market.

Another Israeli place. Since they get whites and Israelis they clean table regularly. As a clean freak I appreciate that. Very Israeli oriented hence the service is more Israeli oriented. But good coffeeeeee... But still not able to maintain or clean tbe toilets at all. These places tend to be cheaper for coffee and love it. Cheap coffee and clean table, appreciated!

Had a lovely meal of local Ladakhi and Tibetan cuisine at this restaurant. I was on the hunt for a good non-veg Skyu and we found this place through a Google search. The ambience of the restaurant is great, overlooking the market. We ordered the Skyu and the mutton Shay Phalay. Both exceeded our expectations . Loved the Skyu as it was our first time eating it. The shay phalay was also well made and tasty. I will definitely go back to this restaurant when I visit Leh again

One of my favourite Restaurant 💕 recently I have visited in 2024 June n noticed everything is changed but food quality n hospitality was same as in 2018.

After like 8 days of eating around Ladakh, I can declare that this restaurant serves the best Ladakhi food I've eaten thus far. The Chicken Phingsa is to die for. It was so so good that I vow to return again just for it. Mutton momos pretty nice too though the veg chowmein is just average. We came in late at around 9.45 pm but grateful that they still willing to serve us. They also extended their restaurant hours so we could comfortably finish our food. This restaurant is officially in my must visit again list if I ever come to Leh again.

Had thupka which was really awesome and stomach filling. Pasta was alright. Shakes and ice lemon tea was a cherry topping on it

Amazing tandoori chicken and naan! Chicken was cooked perfectly, very tender with just the right amount of that tandoor dryness. Staff are also friendly, I would come here again!

Best restaurants in town, offered very good foods both Tibetan dishes or Indian ,even European dishes . Great service,clean and reasonable price .

Out of the world soup. Very tasty. We weren't hungry so just had a soup but they made it freshly and taste was quite amazing. Veg wonton soup.

It’s a open roof restaurant with a lovely vibe. The service is pretty amazing. The owner himself is a very nice and warm person who takes care of his guests and makes sure everyone is attended well.

food was very tasty. if you want spicy just tell them to make medium spicy, else you wont be able to eat full meal. but yes the taste was actually very good . veg noodles, veg fried rice and veg Manchurian was very very delicious. They DO NOT ACCEPT CARDS ONLY GPAY/PAYTM/CASH so please keep in mind before going. food is a little bit expensive in comparison to other good quality food serving restaurants.. their staff was very polite and humble. i was not aware that this restaurant is a bar too. and they serve hukka too... and top of that its completely open air, so if you are family and dont like smell of hukka, then this place is not for you. because me and my family members also dont like hukka smell. so we wont go there again.. but food taste was actually good .

The beautiful coffee shop gives you a local ambience! with lovely portraits adorning the insides and the scintillating aroma of coffee, and most of all the delicious menu , it is the perfect coffee shop in leh ! Also the owners and every regular customer there is delightful company 😊must visit !

This is comfortably the place to be in Leh. Great coffee, decent WiFi (a massive rarity) and reasonably priced. The travel agency next door is equally as good, with the owner happy to help out any issues (even without compensation).

Interesting place We landed up in this place while we were walking around in the Main Market in Leh. The place is good, looks modern. Unfortunately for us, they had no burgers, sandwiches available. So we ordered Wraps and Coffee, which was good. This is a lazy place, so give some time. This is a place where after a hectic sightseeing or shopping, you chill for a while.

The coffee is very good, it’s also a nice place to sit with chilled music and good WiFi. However, I ordered the vegetarian sandwich and it was tiny.. I literally ate it in under 30 seconds. Stick to the coffee.

They have quite an extensive menu but we tried the Schezwan noodles here which were good. They do have a variety of baked goods in which we tried Apricot Cheescake. This one tasted a bit average only. Both cost us roughly 350 rupees.

I think this is the heart of leh market as its literally located in the center and you will get everything super fresh and super tasty here. Kinda like surprise because no fancy ambience but just good food under the open sky. Never been disappointed with any dish that we tried here and it has everything you want to eat. 🙌🏼💯

Yum Yum is a place you must experience the fine taste and unique flavours of in Ladakh. They offer a wide variety of delicacies, and bar none they serve the best pizza in Leh. The spinach cheese momos are also to die for. The vibe is truly unique. From locals to global travelers, you’ll meet and converse with some of the most fascinating people in town.

Yum Yum Food N Cafe is the worst bakery shop in leh market. Not Recommended. This cake was stale. I told them but they forced to pay the money. I paid half the amount. The old lady is very arrogant. Never visit. They literally harassed us.

Service is fast. Hospitality is good. Food was excellent. Will get a hang of the place. Bakery also has good desserts.

You can go there to grab a quick bite. Budget friendly place and the taste is also fine according to the price… 3/5 is my score.

Wandrers Cafe – A View Worth the Visit, but That’s About It Located on the second floor, Wandrers Cafe offers a pleasant aerial view of the bustling Leh market — probably its best feature. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t quite match up. The service was notably slow, with a considerable wait just to place our order. We tried the momos and thukpa, both of which were quite average in taste and lacked any standout flavor. A friend ordered an Oreo shake, but what arrived was a regular chocolate shake with a single Oreo placed on top — more of a namesake than the real deal. Overall, the place might be good if you’re just looking to relax and enjoy the view, but for food and service, it leaves much to be desired.

I tried veg thupka and fruit punch, the juice was freshly made without added sugar and still so yummy. Thupka killed my hunger and was perfect blend of veggies and noodles and soupy. Loved it!

Great place to relax in small ang big groups..best enjoyed in late afternoons so that you can enjoy the outdoor setting without too much sun. Must try the masala chai but the almond pudding was a let down...too sweet and lot of condensed milk. Otherwise food is tasty...could try the continental stuff like grilled chicken or pita bread with hummus although the pita bread was a bit hard. You can spend time here as there is ample sitting area which is a bonus the place does not feel cramped and right in the middle of the market.Pricing is around 400 to 500 INR for main course. You need to walk up a flight of narrow stairs hence not convenient for those who will be uncomfortable with that.

The best place for macchiatos!! Love the ambience, the music and the staff. They are always so kind and want to go the extra mile to take care of their guests. We went there thrice during our visit to Leh this week only for their macchiato but unfortunately they ran out of milk(and borders were closed impacting ration supply) but they went out looking for milk got a couple of cartons and made it just for my son and I. Love this place.. other things that we tried were their farmers pizza which was amazing and their chicken appetisers, egg noodles and veg thukpa are equally good. 😊🥰😋🙌👌😋

Had the best Matcha crepe here in 2021. Was searching for the name. But sad to see it’s temporarily closed. Hope it’s open again and I can go there by next year.

It was a last-minute decision to try the cakes and coffee at this cafe after having lunch at Gesmo Restaurant. The establishment is located on Old Fort Road, next to Ladakh Fitness Center. The space is small but nicely furnished. Apart from two tables that can seat 3 to 4 people, there are stools with a bar to one side of the room (for solo travelers, I presume). A glass display near the cash counter houses the cakes available. When we dropped in around 4:30 PM yesterday, there were only a few pieces of cake left. The price for a piece of cake is around Rs. 180. Other drinks and dishes are listed on the wall above the cooking area. There are different types of coffee and tea on offer. We ordered an Apricot cheesecake, a Matcha cake, a Chocolate roll, and two cups of coffee. My friends found the cakes delicious, but I did not feel the same. The Matcha cake did not have enough flavor in my opinion. And the cheesecake was too subtle for my Indian palate. I liked the chocolate cake, although I would have preferred more chocolate. On the whole, I think the flavors are more attuned to the western palate. Subtle and delicate. As I'm used to strong flavors, they did not hit the mark for me. The bill came to Rs. 750.

Very cute and small cafe. Service is excellent. We tried the iced latte, tuna sandwich and veg omelette. All were very well presented and the taste matched the high quality presentation. Good coffee, they grind fresh.

This Café offers the best coffee specialities in Leh, where good coffee ist quite rare to find. The location is not easy to spot but worth looking. The matcha cake was also a dream. The wooden design is hip. Recommended!

After the day we spotted this cafe, we on an average went 2-3 time daily for the next 7 days or so. The cafe is super cosy, cute, and the coffees are amazing. Staff is super warm and courteous, they make you feel at home. I also had the chance to have breakfast there and it was very tasty. A cute cafe with small menu but amazing taste and experience. The staff went above and beyond and made us apricot biscuits (which were off the menu) to make our anniversary special. Lala's Café in Leh is one of my longtime favourite cafes in Leh! Like a small oasis and a great view that perfectly captures the heart of Ladakhi culture and hospitality. Located in a side street of the old town, among traditional Ladakhi houses. The café offers a unique atmosphere that feels like a cross between a living room and a cultural retreat. The interior is simple but cozy, with low-hanging wooden beams, traditional carpets, and colorful cushions on the low sofas. A small incense stick often burns in the corner, which gives off a subtle scent of pine wood and herbs and adds to the calming ambiance. Lala's Café feels like a home away from home, a place where you can not only enjoy delicious food and drinks, but also the stories, warm welcome, and authentic atmosphere that makes Leh so special. They offer also heritage architecture walks, so just ask at the counter. Also they sell nice postcards.

This place is incredibly special. Easily one of the most cherished cafes I’ve been to in the world. It feels like a true artist built it, restored it with their heart. It’s the perfect place to read a book or write, any day of the week. The people that work here are peaceful and kind. I wish them the best and this place remain a beacon for such tranquility in the world.

What a quaint unique cafe in Leh! Located in a restored heritage house with seating at two levels - I especially loved the outdoor seating in the terrace. The menu is limited but delicious. The cafe is down a lane just off Leh Main Market Street. It's worth the small trek just for the cool building it's set up inside. Truly, it's a stunning little building, with a massive sense of history and heritage attached to it. However, the additional advantage is that the coffee and food are EXCEPTIONALLY awesome, made with fresh ingredients, and made with love and care. I enjoyed the experience greatly, and I'll go back often to check out the rest of their menu. 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Additional info: The cafe is run by an NGO that's been around since 2003, with their focus on the repair and maintenance of old heritage buildings. The cafe has been around since 2008, and it's run as a non-profit, with all the profits going into maintaining, renewing, and repairing heritage buildings.

Hidden jewel in the old town of Leh. The coffee and cheesecake I had were both delicious 😋 The piece of cake was large enough for three people - very generous. The lady serving us was very friendly.

This restaurant offers 5+ stars when it comes to its food selection! A lot lof local dish options with modern twists, super tasty and served beautifully. Lovely ambiance with nice decor in the restaurant - 4 stars because the service was quite poor - while the staff was friendly they did not really do their job properly (delaying orders, forgetting orders, taking a lot of time to take orders when the restaurant wasn’t actually busy). Also the room was a bit cold, as in October the temperatures go down drastically in the evening, spaces need to be heated, we had to sit and eat with our jackets on. The restaurant deserves better as the food is exquisite!

We came 5 times in just 3 days. All the food was very elegantly prepared and presented. Had some of the best desserts and food here. Amazing salads, pasta, pizza and the best fusion food with local foods blended with Japanese Mediterranean Mexican food is just beyond this world. Fully vegetarian restaurant and with ample vegan options. Would recommend to visit atleast once while you are in Leh.

By far one of the best places I’ve been to in all my life. Every single dish is so unique and delicious. We ordered a Classic Thukpa, Tingmo and Mushroom, Gucchi Yarkhandi Pulao, a classic Margherita, Memories of Old Delhi, a hot chocolate. Everything was served so nice. We did not know when we visited the place, that this restaurant has been mentioned as one of the best places in the world to stay/ eat at by the TIME magazine. But after having dinner here, we exactly knew why it is so. A must visit place when you are in Leh.

Have u ever heard someone being spellbound over food? Well this has been our experience this evening at this most amazing eating house. Our compliments to the chef all the way. This one is situated in the main market with some nice views. You should definitely check the crepiocas here- crepes made of tapiocas. They tasted pretty good. The cafe has nice cozy vibes. The cost was roughly 200-250 rupees.

Come for the views, rooftop terrace and cosy lounges - stay for the friendly service, excellent coffee, sumptuous lime cheescake and honey, lemon teas... and of course the free wi-fi! (most helpful).

Ended up introducing others from my hostel to Brazil Cafe about five times. The chocolate cake is amazing, the atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is welcoming. Visited this place a view too many times, and often stayed long just to chill. Also the view from all levels is great!

There is a great sunroof top with great views from the market and the palace. The chicken sandwich was amazing and the capuchino one of the best I have ever had. It was quiet at lunch time. Its a great place to eat more european food and drinks.

Best place in city, where to enjoy big cup of tea and cakes. Tea lovers will enjoy natural mint tea. Prices are cheap compared to other cafes in town. Cafe offers scenic views to the main street and Leh palace. Also plus point for well kept toilet.

The cafe is definitely a must visit place when you are in Main Bazaar, Jamia Masjid Road or Palace Road. Its located above the Ground floor shop. I had a tea here and it just helped me rejuvenating from the tiredness of entire day. On top of it, it has a roof top sitting arrangement which makes things even more enjoyable and memorable as you can see the entire market from both sides of Main Bazaar. So we have one of the branch of legendary Kareem's at Leh Market. The food is awesome and staff is courteous. Located at prime location next to lehvenda cafe.

We began our bites by dipping Lazeez Keema Naan, khambir and the plain Naan into Mutton Handi. The gravy was quite good, spicy but moderately 🧆. Basically, four pieces are served in Chicken Fries as they told us but they served us five pieces as we were five 🍗. Later, we ordered Jahangiri Chicken which was also delicious. I visited Karim’s Leh recently and was delighted with the experience. I had also seen their General Manager last year at his restaurant in Turtuk, and I was delighted to see him here again. He is a very well-mannered, polite, and humble person who knows how to operate restaurant with absolute Professionalism. The service at Karim’s was excellent—attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The food was simply amazing, full of authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself is well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for guests. Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience, and I would highly recommend Karim’s Leh to anyone visiting. It is a perfect place to enjoy good food with great touch of hospitality. The location of Karim's makes it must visit place in Leh City..

They serve chicken fried rice and call it Dum Biryani which cost for full plate Rs 600/- , and after complaining they said yaha aisa hi milta hai. Also they use sela basmati rice for biryani which is low grade rice.

Absolutely Disgusting Experience – Avoid at All Costs! I had one of the worst dining experiences at Karim’s Leh, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I ordered the mutton biryani, expecting something decent, but what I got was stale, foul-smelling meat that immediately triggered a vomiting sensation. The taste and smell were so off that it was clearly not fresh, a serious health risk. When I complained and returned the mutton, the staff casually offered to replace it with chicken but then had the audacity to say it would be charged extra. Unbelievable. On top of that, they kept saying, “We’re coming,” but made me wait endlessly, despite multiple reminders. It was clear they had no intention of resolving the issue sincerely. This place doesn’t care about hygiene, food quality, or customer service. If you value your health and your time, do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Please change the waiter,he just spoiled our complete experience here, food was average.. but the service is pathetic

Unfortunately, my experience at Karim’s Leh town main market was disappointing, largely due to the poor management. The restaurant manager seemed egoistic and unapproachable, which reflected in the overall service and staff coordination. We experienced long wait times, confusion with our order, and a general lack of attentiveness. When we tried to address the issue, the manager showed little concern or willingness to help. Good leadership sets the tone for a positive dining experience, and sadly, that was missing here. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving customer service and professionalism. Rest aside Karim’s ladakh outlet need to take a serious action for the manager who is misbehaving with customer otherwise the image of Karim’s which takes decades to build will get ruined because of these unprofessional manager.

This place is actually 300 years old. The menu and food was so good and Amazing, lots of playing cards were there like uno. And the best part is the view of the cafe. It was a really amazing experience with my friends. If you are visiting leh then please visit this cafe once.

I loved the ambience was amazed by the view from the window. Host is wonderful. Loved pasta and butter tea. It's a calm place to relax and spend quality time.

Phenomenal place with a beautiful view. If you want a relaxed afternoon/evening - this is your place. The interiors are tastefully done - it’s a place with a lot of history. Food is pretty good too.

This place is close to leh palace and a rustic one. Interesting entrace and amazing ambience. You get beautiful view of old leh city from the cafe.

Thabtsang Cafe is a gem situated in a 300 years old Ladakhi house. Great food, jaw dropping view and sweetest hospitality with the perfect WiFi. A must visit place in Leh. Heading back to Thabtsang Cafe very very soon.

This restaurant is closed since the time of covid and never reopened (i got to know this today). I dont understand why nobody took a little effort to correct this on google! I will do this now. Anyway really a pity, it was one of my favorite restaurants in the past!!

The ambience is great with apricot and apple trees. Staff is nice and friendly. One recommendation from the menu would be their fish with saute vegetables.

The best Tuna Momos and Lamb Burgers you can find in Leh.Staff is excellent and very accommodating.
