We came here over the weekend; it was a lovely sunny evening, so we sat outside overlooking the marina and watched the sunset. There are heaters available outside, but we weren’t any on our table and the waiter provided us with blankets instead which came in handy once the Sun started to set. It’s a beautiful little restaurant, in a lovely spot and this is what attracted us. The staff were lovely and attentive too. The food however, we found to be quite overpriced and quite bland. I think the prices somewhat reflect the setting, but we didn’t enjoy the food and sadly would not return.

Trattoria 51 is a great place to have lunch. We ordered pizza and salad and we were not disappointed. The pizza was delicious and the salad was fresh. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is very clean. We would definitely recommend Trattoria 51 to anyone looking for a great place to eat. We particularly liked that they brought the kid’s food first.

Very friendly staff that are attentive without being intrusive. Nice building and decor with delicious food that tasted really fresh. The pasta we had was a very generous portion too 😊

Such a shame this used to be our go to place in Southport but it has sadly declined . £90 bill for below average food . All tasted frozen steaks just very average bland tasteless prawns no sorry you have let the ball drop and we won’t be back service was ok but food very very average . Been going 7 years and it used to be great now sadly in decline Added to review as realised I gave 2 stars should be none . AWFUL another one that’s gone downhill from pre covid Revisiting my reviews and looked again at the pictures WHY ! I didn’t refuse to pay god knows just look at the water under the steak ! 4 prawns and dreadful veg and frozen chips . Have to say eat out a lot this was the biggest disappointment of the year .

Old style fish and chip cafe, good portions, and big serve with bread butter, peas and tea, but it was ok rather than great. Chips were not crisp and were a bit lukewarm, tea was weak as, service was very nice friendly and quick. Ok value. Worth a try as the reviews seem to fluctuate quire a bit.

The best fish n chips in Southport? Definitely! The perfect stop to grab some food when out on the motorbikes with mates. And it’s my usual restaurant when the kids are hungry as it’s the best food and service for miles.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. No muss nor fuss fish and chips for a cheerfully low price, with hefty portion sizes. Staff are incredible - hands down, the fastest service ever received within 3 minutes.

Lived here most of my life, and the Swan Fish and Chips takeaway is well renowned around town, it has always been a local favourite, and I have to say that it is by far for me the best. The quality of the chips, never soggy, always tasty. The service is friendly . The wait can often be long on Friday night chilly night, but it really is the telltale of a good fish and chip shop :)

Fish was fresh. Chips so so. What I didn’t like was it was served on polystyrene plate. Both mine and the other portion of fish and chips. Carcinogenic ! I thought that stuff had been banned so only one star. Customer eating inside got the better piece of fish too !!! Taken off my plastic carcinogenic plate !!

Was in Southport and my daughter wanted fish n chips. A colleague of mine recommended this place. A quick Google suggested we should visit and we were not disappointed. The inlaws came with us and the were both very happy. It's tucked away a little but definitely worth finding this place. Service was spot on and the food was amazing too. Lots of empty plates and full bellies! When we're back in Southport we will definitely be back!

The food was delicious, so it gives 4 stars. The service was nice and helpful but not too much space, very tight. We waited for food for over an hour and a half and after two hours the next people waited for our table so we just had to go out to our table so we were told, there was no place inside so that I could wear a suit for my 6-month-old child I had to dress a child outside. This place is certainly not child-friendly.

Went for a meal here, the starter was very nice but the main was quite bland. My partner said her meal was very nice so maybe it was just mine. The staff are all very polite and you have the option to sit outside and eat which we did as it was very hot. I would probably give it another try but choose a different main next time

We have came to Southport today with wife and baby took a walk and decided to eat somewhere as it turned out we found restaurant Volare !!! We were stunned as 2 years ago we have meet in Volare in Rome!!! When arrived we were welcomed by owner at the doors decorated and smell of food from kitchen together with music has made us feel like stepping back in time. After spending some time sharing experience with owner we had ordered food menu was great authentic Italian food made by family from generations!!! Bruschetta Romana simple but best !!! So tasty and fresh 🤤 The seasonal menu wild mushrooms risotto served in pumpkin was best I tried and that comes from 12 years experience chef !!! We also tried Amatriciana and had some house wine that together completed the day !!! We felt like back in Italy!!! Definitely will be visiting often now what a gem 💎!!! Recommended to us by a local. Booking is advised but we were very fortunate a table became available as we debated where to go whilst we waited for our time slot as we hadn't booked. The staff are welcoming & efficient. The food was stunning , we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great variety of choices for everyone and prices are reasonable.

Amazing food. Extremely busy on a Monday night and the six of us had to wait a bit before our table was ready. Because it is so popular the noise level is tremendous however the food and service were good. There is a great vibe to the place.

What a wonderful restaurant, a smiling faces of the waiting staff made our dining more appreciated. The food was also very good, plenty of vegetarian options, wheelchair accessible and more importantly the toilets were clean. Only let down was the lift music. Maybe it was Fausto Papetti (not sure) but does not really go well for daytime dining. It was borderline irritating. We will be back for sure. Would recommend.

Could give this way more than five stars. Food was exceptional, the service personal and friendly and the atmosphere for a wet Tuesday was brilliant. People being noisy enjoying unbridled pleasure at the food being served here. Great menu with lots of choice, lots of interesting dishes and service with a smile. It’s not cheap but the 40 covers there this evening thought it was worth it. I will be back here to enjoy more delicious french food in the heart of Birkdale. Tables can now be booked for the Open next year

Husband and I went for an early tea as we had the opportunity of a baby sitter! Food is always fantastic here, I have literally never had a bad meal after visiting for 15+ years. Marc heads up a team of exceptional chefs whilst the waiting-on staff make sure you are well looked after. Michelin star quality food but with better portion sizes. The mix of French classic cuisine with some Asian dishes and top notch Italian pastas never ceases to amaze me. The menu is small (ish) but executed perfectly. There is a reason this place is booked up weeks in advance, but if you're in the local area you simply must visit

There’s a reputation to Verité that has interested me for years as a local. I’ve always wanted to try it, but didn’t realise they offered vegan options until recently. I appreciate that asking a French restaurant to cook vegan is a challenge, but they do promote a menu that caters for it. The starter of garlic mushrooms was disappointing — it felt like a bowl of boiled mushrooms with a dash of garlic oil. Watery and basic. The Malaysian vegetable curry, however, was much better. It stood out as a well-executed dish, especially for a French bistrot, and I couldn’t really fault it. My partner had the £50 steak, which she described as “just okay” — not particularly memorable and similar in taste to steaks at a third of the price. It’s also worth noting that you’re given a strict 90-minute slot for your meal. It felt like the staff were very aware of that time limit throughout, which added a sense of being rushed. The overall quality of food is good, but some of the pricing feels hard to justify. With a bill well into triple figures, I left feeling quite underwhelmed. It didn’t quite live up to the anticipation.

Amazing place. This was my first visit and I'd heard so many good reviews of it. It didn't disappoint! Absolutely delicious food, wide-ranging menu, excellent service. Recent introduction of an adjoining bar next door allows you to enjoy drinks in the surroundings before and after, and we did! 😀

Last week I tried La Tabella’s midweek offer - two course for £19.50. I was instantly impressed by the menu, particularly the selection of pasta dishes (swipe for a cheese pull😍). I had a lovely experience, everything we tried was flavourful and the customer service was great! It was a very good small Italian restaurant in Southport / Churchtown with 5-star food and service in the last 5 years but it has changed today. We are kind of loyal customers to the restaurant, and we always recommended many friends to try this restaurant in the past 5 years when they visited Southport. We went there almost once every two months.... but regret to say that it was no longer in my restaurant list any more after today. Today, we brought 16 people, a mix of 9 adults (men & women) and 7 young people (boys and girls and some of them are under 18) to there for a lunch. Though we finally ordered 12 set lunch (starter and lunch at £18 each) + one extra main course plus some snacks and drinks today, the restaurant may wrongly counted the number of lunch sets and had charged us 2 set lunche more. While we came back tonight around 2100 to ask for a refund of the two over-charged lunch sets, the restaurant owner and his staff first denied that it has an over-charged situation and insisted the bill was correct. While we showed our group photos to prove what we had ordered, he then said our lunch order was too little for 16 people, the pictures were not taken at the beginning of the lunch, and we should not share food within the restaurant. If we did so, the restaurant would do its business in loss, and baabaabaa..... finally, with our insist, he was somehow reluctant to refund us £40 from his cashier machine. Understand that he wanted to protect his business from loss, but I'm quite disappointing about his response tonight. First, we are his loyal customers in years, and only asked for a refund the first time due to the overcharge situation. Second, during lunch time, it only had another 3-4 customers there. Without us (we paid more than £320 to yhe restaurant. If not, it may only get a max of £100 from them during lunch time. Third, as we all may know, a restaurant's profit margin is not mainly coming from meals but from drinks ordered by its customers. Drinks, also desserts, have very high profit margin to a restaurant comparing to that of main course. Fourth, its food quality was not as good as before, especially in our last two patronages (two weeks ago and today). Fifth, an over-bill case and not order enough main course per person are two separate issues. He should not mix these two issues up. Finally, if the boss knows how to deal with his loyal customers better and more skillful, it would not lose some loyal customers like us. My suggestions to the restaurant and the owner are ... 1) may state clearly in the restaurant that it has a minimum charge to each individual customer, or each customer should order a main course over there during lunch time. 2) to ensure food quality of the restaurant to be consistent over time, 3) if he wants to operate a more profitable business, he should improve his customer handling and communication skill. Customers may not always right but he should handle different dispute better.

Got a pizza (Capriccosa) and some mozzarella sticks to take out. The starter was still crunchy even after a 10+ minute drive. The cheese was of good quality and really tasty. The pizza had wonderful dough and very nice quality toppings. Good amount of sauce and cheese. Definitely recommend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.

The food is disgusting. Greasy fish, re heated minging chips soaked in grease and staff that don't give a you know what.

Just ordered a takeaway. £28 down the drain. The fried rice was stale and stone cold. Literally cold. The chow mein had a fishy taste to it. The crispy shredded beef was tough and chewy. Chips were the only decent thing. We had a couple of mouthfuls each and binned it. What a disgrace.

Ordered 2 meals, fried rice & portion of chips. Somehow the entire order was delivered within 10 minutes of placing order. How is it possible to receive an order, cook fresh food, drive to location and hand it over in 10 minutes?? The chow mein had a really suspicious strong fishy odour and was so salty it was inedible. The fried rice was tasteless , powdery and cold (obviously cooked in advance and not reheated properly). The crispy shredded beef was chewy and tough. Chips were dry and no s&v. £30 for a two meals and most of it ended up in the bin. Won't be ordering from there again. Disappointed to say the least!

Apalling slop quality. Guaranteed to give you the runs. Guaranteed to highly disappoint. Places like this give highpark a bad name. Highpark fish and chips is one of the reason people come to southport to die and not in the peaceful sense. The smell from the fried onions alone made us nearly throw up. Disgusting and not worth any of anyones money. To the owner of this buisness. Please leave this town and never come back, go back to the hole you crawled of. Thank you kindly.

I've got to say high park chippy is the best Chinese takeaway I've had and I'm 61 and tried many over the years, the chef cook my food just how I like it, he does it especially for my taste which is very hot and spicy, good prices and very quick reliable delivery, top marks 👌🌶️👍

Found this restraunt when we had a break in southport as it was on taste card, meal was fantastic and nice to try new dishes, service was great and we would definitely go again! It was so nice we didn't even use the tastecard as felt the food and service deserved full price. Thank you for a great birthday meal :)

I have never been served this fast, and I mean that. The food was delicious, good prices, but the thing that impressed me most (in a good way) was waiter's attitude towards us. 10 🌟 to tho waiter, keep up the good work. I definitely recommend the place and will definitely go back.

Absolutely fantastic. The Girl from Thailand was so so friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. Not to mention about the Romanian lady at the counter; She was so chatty and kind and so so nice. I really loved it. I tried some other Romanian restaurants before, but this is the best. Value for money. I couldn’t finish what we’ve ordered because the portions are proper portions like In Romania😂, and the taste is 100% Romanian. Warm environment and a relaxing place. Thank you so much for bringing a little part of Romania to England. I am so happy with the experience I had and the service and quality of the food I received. Delicios, delicios and delicios food. One of the best independent restaurants on Lord Street, certainly the best value, and most definitely the best customer service, that's for sure. I've often wandered past and mistaken the place for being small, with no free tables. But that's because you can't see the upper tier tables until you're inside, and it's those upper tier tables where I first fell in love with the place. The staff really know how to go the extra mile for a customer, and it's a joy to ask their advice and try the healthy seasoned Romanian pork sausage meat wrapped in cabbage leaves (if nothing else) because once you've tried them (cooked on the open flame wood fire grill) you won't settle for anything less ever again. But my favourite (both for taste and for value) is the Romanian style all day full breakfast, complete with toasted one inch thick homemade bread (and the free pot of tea added for good measure). I'm going back this weekend for the barbecued steak dinner (just the tantalising aroma alone should draw you in from outside) but to say I've now developed a real taste for Romanian cooking is an understatement. And to see the sheer joy in the owner's eyes when you realize just how good their homemade fare truly is, is to understand the pride with which they spoil their customers. A very worthy five star assessment, and a restaurant I'd truly and honestly recommend to anyone when window shopping around Southport's main High Street ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐10/10

Tried a new Romanian styled sausage with side salad and mustard today, and I wasn't disappointed. It was delicious. Experimented with two light Romanian cakes straight afterwards which were beautifully fresh and extraordinarily tasty, complimented my cuppa and really made my day. Terrific place to try the unusual and exotic. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing place, brought me memories of the taste from home. The staff was extremely friendly food was fast and looked amazing as well as tasting fresh and delicious. Their desserts are also amazing. Huge portions for good prices and everything tastes fresh.

Disliked it. I had steak and fries both terrible. Firstly I ordered grilled steak and got some fried pork, the🍟 were done in burned oil so impossible to eat as it tasted very wired. I felt sick all afternoon after trying them. The service was also bad, we didn't even get any cutleries we had to ask as we obviously couldn't eat with our hands, toilets were not clean, there was a bad smell in the entire building, I guess it was from the burned oil or something, anyway really bad overall. We went there because we saw some nice reviews and as we haven't had Romanian food in a while said to try but it's not worth it. Wouldn't recommend it. Spend your money elsewhere, where you can actually eat what you are paying for and you don't get sick from the improper cooked food.

Food got 4 stars but the entire experience 3 and this is being generous. Staff really needs to pay more attention to clean tables and sweep floors as place was so dirty. Unbelievable. It only takes a few minutes to quickly wipe tables to make it more attractive for customers. After wiping the table and chair ( was totally filthy) enjoyed my sub.

The footlong Philly steak I ordered doesn’t even look edible and is frozen cold. On number of occasions I’ve found hair in my food from this store. This time I’ve had to heat my food up in the oven which is why it even looks edible. Do not use this store if you can help it.

Everything was great - staff were kind and helpful when ordering, food was tasty - except the restaurant itself. All the tables and the floor were covered in crumbs, seats had holes in them. We've spent like 30mins inside but nobody seemed to care to just wipe the tables down or do a quick sweep it would literally take 3 minutes to do so..

Subway has changed and for the better. Their menu is much better and best of all they've brought back the breakfast menu. Also their bread is back to normal portions as for a while their bread was rather thin and tasteless. One thing that still annoys me though is it allows people to have their family or friends to keep seats. As often by the time your order is ready people behind you in the queue have taken all the tables. However on the whole it's much improved. So all that said improvements aside, vegans have a great choice, disabled mostly can have access and better food selection with caring staff it all good. Parking is always an issue but perhaps that will change

I've just ordered a tuna salad and asked for extra tuna. The guy serving reluctantly put more on, even tho I was paying. The prices have gone ridiculous. My son had a foot long veggie pattie sandwich and even the bread has gone thinner. Total rip off!!! Won't be visiting again and wasting my money 😡

We have had 3 meals from here and every one has been delicious has their own twist friendly service and portion size perfect. I’m vegetarian so keep ordering mixed veg curry delicious and my husband big meat and curry fan keeps trying different dishes and enjoys each one. Definitely recommend for a authentic South Indian experience

If you are looking for real South Indian food, especially from Kerala, this is the best option. The food was fresh, tasty, and full of authentic flavours. Portion sizes were good, prices very reasonable. I truly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend to anyone craving Kerala food.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever given a 1-star review but I am for this one. This little takeaway used to be my favorite in Southport. Then it changed hands. Tonight I received the single most appalling curry I’ve ever tasted. It was supposed to be a mild version of chicken malabar but for some inexplicable reason they added extra hot curry powder to it leaving tiny specks and the most most vile taste (not to mention changing its colour). They also added additional salt. Why? And to top it off, the coconut milk was curdled. Aside from the terribleness of it, it boggles my mind that the chef wouldn’t have the common sense or consideration to understand what he was doing to it when he added the extra ingredients. When I called to complain, the woman tried to justify it. Absolutely appalling!

First time ordering so called to place order. Great service and agreed to have food ready at a time suitable to me. Food itself was fantastic! Onion bhaji was different but amazing, pilau rice was fresh and tasty. Lamb Ularthiyathu was superb and chicken and mushroom curry was also lovely. Can’t wait to order again as lady on front desk was lovely too.

Our favourite takeaway! The selection for veggies is great and everything is packed with flavour. The lady on the phone is very polite too. Highly recommend! Our usual order is Cauliflower 65, Tadka Dal, Paneer Tikka Massala and Pilau rice 😋🤤🙏

Burgers are average meat is a bit dry but fries are really good. Recommend the Big boss burger Clearly not freshly made burgers more frozen meat defrosted and heated.

Burger is amazing, they have a really tasty Smoke Mayo sauce. Burger look homemade and gourmet compared to classic takeaway. Definitly worth the price. The only reasons i dont put 5 stars is because of the "cheese chips". They said "Topped with Buffalo grated (80/20) mozzarella and cheddar cheese" But Not much cheese on it (and not melted). I literally recieved "cold" grated cheese on top of a bag of chips. You should make it melt But it's ok, I will order again !

Absolutely awful food. Gyros was inedible, dry chciken undercooked bacon and salad nearly off. Skinny Fries in a rancid cheese (was meant to be spicy wedges). They also have no after service. Dirty tramps. STAY CLEAR

Food was great. The place was empty when we walked in and we could only find one table that was actually satisfactory to sit at. All the rest were dirty and old food trays still left on them. We ordered at the machines and then went to the counter to ask for some sauce. I stood there for 5 minutes before I was acknowledged. The place was a mess! It then got worse as I went to the bathroom to wash my hands to find the toilet in a terrible state. See pictures. If I worked there I would be ashamed. One member of staff in particular walking round with a headset on talking to another colleague stating that he isn't going to clean up outside as he will get wet in the rain'. I'm glad I'm not their manager. Very unprofessional to be walking round the shop floor complaining to another colleague when customers can hear every word. Customer service skills were disgusting, Won't be returning again in a hurry!

Ordered a wicked variety 6 bucket through the drive through, got home and had 5 chicken legs and something else, with chips. No wings, no fillets. It's not rocket science, very disappointed. Wasn't worth driving back for, but I guess you have to check your order with them to make sure they can match the meal to the pictures.

Just nipped in for a cheap lunch. Got a mini fillet burger and chips and drink. £4. Well worth it. Decent burger tasted great and chips was fine. Eat the lot. Very friendly stafff. Five star guys

Looks to have been recently renovated inside and now has the convenience of self service ordering through the touch screens. A friendly chap who I have seen here many times, Michael, soon brought our food over as I ordered for table service. He was warm and friendly. I noticed he was the same with everyone he dealt with. Nothing was too much trouble. If he's reading this, you brought us the 4 mini fillets today (Sat 8th Feb @ 1pm, by the entrance) and noted our interesting choice in our order 😂 It is indeed. Cheap and filling. If only all staff at fast food restaurants were as friendly and efficient as you sir. Thank you.

This is on behalf of my dad. Who is 90. He went in yesterday to Oder a small meal. He went to pay with cash and was told No CASH!! He only had cash on him. So walked out. A large company like this should be able to deal with cash. He was disgusted. Do they not realise there’s a lot of people out there who like to pay cash. As it is, reading some of the reveiws about how dirty and messy the place is, I’m glad he didn’t eat there!!

Was going to eat in the restaurant however there was a ridiculous amount of flies in the restaurant and the walls were sticky and covered in long black hair. The food itself was okay. All 3 gravy portions were closer to water than gravy. Always terrible experience at this KFC.

Do not drive away from the Drive thru until you have checked that what you have ordered is actually in the bag. 2 weeks ago I ordered Mighty Bucket for one, boneless banquet and an extra piece of chicken. Collected it drove away...opened it and no extra piece of chicken. Tonight ordered exactly the same, drove away and this time there were no fiery chicken wings in the Mighty bucket for one. Next time I go I WILL sit at the drive thru window and check the bag's contents to ensure that everything I have paid for is actually in the bag. So far they owe me two fiery hot wings and a piece of chicken!!
