Akebonoyama Agriculture Park is a large and vibrant garden featuring themed areas with tulips, cherry trees, and sunflowers. It offers a serene escape from the bustling crowds of Tokyo during cherry blossom season. The park's hillside overlooks stunning flower fields and the Tone River, where you can picnic under the beautiful cherry blossoms. Throughout the year, visitors can enjoy seasonal blooms in the Nihon-en traditional garden and vast flower fields.
It was fabulous place for pass time during this mesmerizing season when both cherry blossoms and tulips blossomed happen together with its utmost beauty. I visit this place with my family almost every year I have been living in this Chiba area.

Snaps of 28/04/2024 At present there are very few flowers. The whole park is very huge so make sure to take right entrance to reach desired area. The park is very relaxing🙂 There is “Fuse Bententokai dera” shrine near to park. The shrine is very peaceful. Public transport to reach park is not very frequent. We took the last bus at 19:05 from in front of shrine to Kashiwa station.
Reshma S — Google review
Well-organized premises. Some areas are old due to long-term use. Seasonal flower garden. So the appearance is different at different times of the year.

I really wish I had found this hidden gem in Chiba earlier. It has so many interesting places to visit. What amazed me the most was their unbelievably delicious honey pudding. When I went to the park, there was no entrance fee, and I was lucky to be there when the Cosmos flowers were in full bloom. Visiting the park made me feel so refreshed.

Great place to visit in spring if you are in Chiba. The flowers are so beautiful, there are also food and souvenir booths. Nice playground for kids too!

Quite a large park with separate sections for flowers depending on season. Visited to see tulips. There is a Japanese garden too. Lots of parking areas (free) around the park.

While waiting for updates on the opening date, visitors can explore the residence and learn about life during the Edo Period. The Sankyo Frontier Kashiwa Stadium offers a fantastic atmosphere with non-stop drums, trumpets and singing from an enthusiastic crowd throughout the entire match. Even high up seats at the back provide a cool breeze. However, visitors should bring their own cold drinks as stalls often run out of ice or sell lukewarm soft drinks. Although it's a bit of a walk from the station, Kashiwa Station has plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.
May I ask? For foreigner, can I watch the football match? Is there ticket sales in near stadium?
Marcellus G — Google review
The drums, trumpets and singing continues throughout the whole match from the packed stadium - great atmosphere and well behaved crowd. Seats right at the back high up was actually quite cool with nice breeze. Recommend taking a cold drink with you on a hot day - the stalls ran out of ice and they were selling luke warm softdrinks.... The stadium is a bit of a walk from the station, but Kashiwa station has a good variety of restraunts and bars.

Great small stadium. The J-League rules are biased towards huge stadiums with running tracks. True football fans love this stadium.

Akebonoyama Park is a stunning location that offers both Japanese and Dutch-style gardens, complete with a teahouse, windmill, and pond. This family-friendly park is perfect for spending time together and enjoying the beauty of nature. During the spring season, visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view of tulips in full bloom. The park also provides an opportunity to relax on a nice day while taking in the serene surroundings.
I’ve visited a number of times. The most recent trip was the best as it felt like some overall improvements and renovations had occurred. The tulip field was beautiful and I appreciated the viola being mixed in with them which gave it a fuller color and bloom. The stalls within the complex were also very good, with some contemporary mixed with others put on by the park at low cost. For 100yen each my kids could enjoy simple games with kind staff encouraging them, most appreciated. Thank you.
P R — Google review
I visited this beautiful park with my family on April 9, 2025, and we were amazed by the stunning variety of tulip flowers. The weather was sunny, which made the colorful blooms even more vibrant and enjoyable. ✨ Highlights: A wide range of tulip varieties in full bloom Free entrance — no admission fee required A small shop inside the park for snacks or drinks 🚫 Note: There are no convenience stores (like 7-Eleven, Lawson, etc.) nearby, so it's best to bring anything essential with you beforehand. 🚌 Travel Tip: Be mindful of the bus schedules between the park and Abiko Station. Buses are not very frequent, so check the timing in advance to avoid long waits.

It’s a beautiful tulip garden that is open 24 hours. 🌷💐❤️ We came here very early in the morning around 6am to beat the crowds and we did!! As you can see in the pictures, it was only me. No people at all. Why go to Netherlands if you can have it in Japan? 🌷😍🇯🇵 🎟️ FREE‼️ It’s an open garden so no entrance fee😍 🚉 Nearest station: Kashiwa Station and use bus number 4 going here. 🕰️ It’s open 24 hours. 💐 Full bloom is usually beginning of April

FREE ✅ ENTRANCE FEE 👍 FREE ✅ PARKING 👍 It’s a great park for a picnic with family—spacious, and surrounded by stunning flowers. Ideal for making happy memories together.
Ann J — Google review
Went to see a sunflower field in a full bloom. Very beautiful 🥰 Some tips - for a better flour mill shots, it's better go around noon, so flowers would already move their heads from the mill to you, but in be careful as at noon the heat might be severe. There are a lot of spots for nice pictures, but as there are a lot of people around, if you have a chance, better visit this place at week days ;) Oh, dogs are not allowed to enter the field by the way, but you can walk at nearby areas.

express my day at akebonoyama tulip festival. since it was festival, there was a lot of crowd. 1 hr waiting for the parking onsite. the place had many food stalls. a good day outside with family My day at the Akebonoyama Tulip Festival was vibrant and lively. Since it was a festival, the place was bustling with a large crowd, making it a popular spot for visitors. The onsite parking required about an hour of waiting, but the beautiful surroundings made up for the delay. Once inside, the festival offered a delightful experience with numerous food stalls serving a variety of treats, adding to the festive atmosphere. It turned out to be a wonderful day outdoors, spent enjoying nature and quality time with family.
Dinesh B — Google review
A friend of ours brought us here to watch the tulips bloom and it absolutely took our breath away. Park
Nature & Parks
Tega-no-oka Park is a family-friendly destination for outdoor recreation, showcasing a variety of amenities such as a children's obstacle course and a swimming pond. The park also features an impressive dinosaur-shaped slide, offering fun entertainment for kids. Visitors can enjoy the well-maintained picnic and camp spaces, as well as the expansive forest to explore on foot. The park offers free parking and shaded areas under tree canopies during sunny days.
A charming forest hill park in Chiba, and it’s an ideal spot for a family outing. The park is easily accessible and features a small river, a wooden playground for kids, and plenty of space for camping and picnics. The dense forest provides ample shade, making it a perfect escape from the summer heat, and the water is crystal clear, adding to the park's natural beauty. Both the toilets and the cafeteria are clean and well-maintained, which adds to the convenience. Perfect for families, the park offers a relaxing and enjoyable environment. However, one downside is the infrequent bus service from and to Kashiwa Station, especially on weekends, so it's essential to check the bus schedule in advance. Despite this, the park is a great destination for a day of outdoor fun. I wouldn’t mind to come back again and again even during winter to have one night family camping😌
Deanty R — Google review
A free admission place for an adventure. Spend a day or a night with family & friends. Kids-friendly place to enjoy nature. You can visit the area all year-round but I guess it is much more popular during summer. Children can play in the pond with free flowing-water. The hanging bridge is also amazing.

Came here on a warm Saturday afternoon and was so glad we did. Free parking, not to busy, picnic space, camp space, BBQ space, huge forest you can walk through, obstacle course for the kids to run around and a large dinosaur slide. It's a very well maintained park/ forest. Absolutely recommend
Boss — Google review
It used to be an bbq site not accepting reservation, but its been such an outdoor business bbq camp site, cleanly well maintained and so much artificial nature like bushes, I liked old days in this park better than now. Athletic is too much safety considered and kids were not so excited due to no thrilling athletic. So much camper only area that keeps park kids away from the trees. No longer real nature park anymore.

Nice park! As i biked theres from Shin matsudo! Beautiful surroundings

Fun obstacle course that's pretty well maintained. Cool dinosaur slide. All under tree canopy so it shaded during sunny days. If it's cold out it's not that busy even on a weekend.

Tōkai-ji, a Buddhist temple from the 9th century, is renowned for its serene atmosphere and stunning features. Known as "Fuse Benten-sama," this mountain sanctuary houses a statue of Benzaiten and is frequented for its cherry-blossom viewing opportunities. Built in 807 AD by Kukai, the temple's principal image, Benji Ten, holds great significance.

It’s a beautiful and peaceful place. This mountain, which is known as "Fuse Benten-sama," is called Koryuzan Fuse Benten Tokaiji Temple, and was opened in the 2nd year of Daido (807 AD) with the statue of Benji Ten, which is said to be the work of Kobo Daishi Kukai, as the principal image (hibutsu). It is a prayer temple. In 2006, the main hall, tower gate, and bell tower were designated as Chiba Prefecture Important Cultural Properties.

Historic Buddhist Temple. Beautiful surrounding. We had kulfi 😂 at the end of Temple edge. Nice view from there. In the year 807, Emperor Saga requested Kūkai to found this temple.

This old temple is far from the city. But u can take the bus directly to the front of the temple. It's not big at all, however, the place is full of traditional Japanese temple buildings! A good place for sightseeing. Cos not many people visit there on weekdays...hence, also a good place for worshipping and medication!

Hirohata Hachimangū is a majestic Shinto shrine with a captivating ambiance. Upon passing through the torii gate, one will encounter a long pathway surrounded by towering trees, creating a slightly dim yet enchanting atmosphere even during daylight hours. The lanterns' gentle glow adds to the otherworldly feel of the surroundings. The spacious grounds are truly impressive, embraced by lush forest and adorned with moss that provides a soothing sensation.
Today, I went on an afternoon walk and explored the Hirohata Hachimangu Shrine. Arriving at around 11am on a Tuesday, I found the shrine to be quite, peaceful, and displaying beautiful colours from every direction. I'd highly recommend visiting these locations in the early mornings, or went they first open to get the best experience. If you want to see more, I have a full walking video on my YouTube channel (Kona-kun Walks) for this location. @Kona-kunnWalks

(Translated by Google) As it is a Hachimangu Shrine, the main deity enshrined is Hondabetsu no Mikoto (Emperor Ojin), and five other deities are enshrined there, including Sonagaashihime no Mikoto, Tamayorihime no Mikoto, and her father, Emperor Chuai and Takeuchi Sukune. It was a quaint and magnificent shrine. I paid a visit and bought an amulet. There were many people visiting the temple grounds to pray for a safe delivery and many bringing their babies with them. The parking lot was free and spacious and seemed easy to use. (Translated by Google) This Kashiwa shrine has free parking. This shrine is located near Nikka Whisky and Shibaura Institute of Technology Kashiwa Junior and Senior High School. The approach to the shrine is surrounded by trees, and even though I visited on a midsummer day when the temperature was over 30 degrees, the breeze felt cool and it was very calming. Kitakashiwa Furusato Park is an idyllic, 7.4-acre park situated alongside a serene river where visitors can enjoy a range of outdoor activities. The park boasts well-manicured lawns, footpaths for leisurely strolls and a large playground perfect for children to play in. One of the standout features of this park is the free water play area designed specifically for young kids to splash around in on hot summer days.
Very nice place for a brisk walk, play with children, fishing, to see seasonal flowers. Swans, ducks and tortoise also can be seen. Love the place.

Nestled in the northern part of Kashiwa City, Konbukuro Pond is a serene natural park that spans approximately 18.5 hectares. This enchanting spot features a small spring-fed pond with a stunningly reflective surface, reminiscent of the beauty found at Shiretoko Five Lakes. Surrounded by lush forests, it offers an escape from urban life while still being conveniently close to hospitals and shopping centers.
(Translated by Google) As a side note, when I googled ``Konbu Kuroike'', ``Konbu Kuroiya'' was displayed. What kind of house is that? (lol) It seems that konbukuro is a small round bag for storing grains. This is a natural park with an area of about 18.5 hectares left in the northern part of Kashiwa City, with a dense natural forest centered around a spring water pond. Unlike the nearby Kashiwa-no-ha Park, this park is basically designed to protect an environment where plants and animals can live, so entertainment and convenience are not given much importance. If that is your goal, I think it would be better to use Kashiwa-no-ha Park, which has a vast well-maintained plaza, an artificial pond, a baseball stadium, and a multi-purpose stadium that was the former home of Kashiwa Reysol. With the opening of the Tsukuba Express, the surrounding area rapidly developed and became a metropolis lined with skyscrapers, but this is a precious green oasis that remains like an island in the middle of the city. When you take a walk, the greenery is so deep that you can't see far into the distance, making you wonder if you're deep in the mountains somewhere. In fact, wild rabbits and raccoon dogs live here, and it is said that the jewel of the clear stream, the kingfisher, even comes here. If you're lucky, you might be able to see it.

In the precincts of Horin-ji Temple stands the largest tree in Kashiwa City, the ``Giant Ginkgo Tree of Horin-ji Temple''. In the Koo era (around 1389), a bhikkhuni from Echigo visited the village of Nadogaya on his way to pray for alms, and sought lodging for the night at this temple. At the temple, he gave her a room and entertained her, but when she left the next morning, the bhikkhuni said, ``I can't thank you in any way,'' and took out a ginkgo nut and said, ``Please sow this fruit.'' This fruit grew into a tree that was 30 meters tall and had a root diameter of over 14 meters in circumference. There is also a story that when the area was hit by a great famine and the village had nothing to eat, the villagers survived hunger with these ginkgo nuts. There are benches everywhere, and if the weather permits, you can read a book or use the internet freely, making it a very relaxing space. I walked around it and thought it was a good size for a walk. Humans are not allowed to enter the meadow in the photo, but perhaps that is why the ducks spend their time there pretending to be their own. They can probably get as close as 2 meters, and if you get closer than that, they will fly a little to get some distance. I would like to come in spring or autumn as well. Teganuma is a one of a most polluted lake in Japan in Tone river basin. This is pumping station. This will pump water to Edogawa River. It has different purposes such as flood control, provide water etc. Water pumped in a rate nearly 3m3/s. The challenging features in Tone river is that the population in river basin exceeds 10million population, the flood risk is very high, salt water intrudes during drought periods, require to manage water for agricultural and industrial water usage etc.
