Fish and seafood restaurant
Located in the heart of Whitstable, Wheelers Oyster Bar is a historic gem that has been serving market-fresh seafood since 1856. The iconic pink-and-blue painted building is a must-visit spot for both visitors and locals. This bring-your-own-affair restaurant offers an array of fresh local seafood, including oysters, crab, mussels, whelks, and more.
Loved the food here! Quick service and very fresh. We had Guinness oysters and Yuzu oysters. There was a lot of ice on the Yuzu oysters so just be careful if you have sensitive teeth. The Guinness oysters were very light and delicious. To start they give a delicious home made bread and pesto. Thanks!

First place you need to visit if you are traveling to Whitstable. What an incredible place to have seafood, it was amazing. Delicious, tasty, we arrived just 4 min before they closed the kitchen and we managed to order 3 plates and 1 starter. The plating, the taste, the service everything worth it! Super recommend it. We will come back!
Laura M — Google review
The dining areas are compact and bijou so it does pay to book as they like to pace the kitchen. The food is unctuous and packed with flavour. Many of the dishes on offer have Far Eastern influences and flavours. This is unusually a BYO but there is a brilliant off licence opposite. The tiny but… for us was some of the fish was a tiny bit overcooked but it’s a delicious place for lunch and we will return.
Alison M — Google review
Fabulous place. Best crab cake I’ve ever had. Lovely walk in counter space to sit if lucky, otherwise book. Service is no fuss and efficient, good came quick and was a high standard. Staff helpful with questions. We spent & £19 and shared crab cake with fries and an incredible sauce, curry smoked haddock fish cake and then got homemade breads and pesto. Should have ordered more and look forward to coming back.
Lianne B — Google review
Definitely a busy place. When we got there, only a handle of seats was available and they were all taken. We ordered takeout. We just needed to tell what we wanted to the staff with our names. When the food is ready, your name would be shouted out. Price is ok compared to other oysters 🦪 shops around. We found the deep fried oysters were quite interesting. The raw ones were fresh, no incidents afterwards.
J. Q — Google review
We read about this place in the timeout magazine article about day trips from London. The town is absolutely charming, and this place was definitely worth a stop in. I would say that the staff could be a little bit kinder, they seemed a little bit stressed out and not really happy to deal with some basic questions. i’m sure it is difficult to operate this kind of an establishment in a tourist town, but you guys can do a little bit better. Our oysters were delicious and it seemed like everybody enjoyed what they had. You would think so since this is a fishing port and they’re getting everything fresh from the sea. I would say it seems a bit pricey for what it is. Pro tip, the place is BYOB and you can get a bottle of something nice very close by to bring in with you. The interior is very cute.
ESB N — Google review
Came for the Guinness battered oysters and wasn’t disappointed. Probably exceeded my expectations! Crispy squid was good too. Give the spring rolls a miss.

Had the 8/9 course tasting menu for a friends 30th birthday. Was a really nice menu, well executed. Love that is BYOB and really lovely chilled atmosphere.

Whitstable Harbour is a picturesque and charming marina in the coastal town of Whitstable, southeast England. It serves as a hub of activity with its working fishing boats, seafood stalls, and restaurants offering fresh catches straight off the boat. The harbor has a rich history dating back to the Roman era and is known for oyster cultivation and trade. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as watersports, wildlife watching, and sampling fresh seafood at the numerous dining establishments.
The harbour isn't so attractive at low tides. The harbour market is lovely. The coastal path is very nice to walk. The most attractive thing to me was the seafood, plenty of oysters and lobsters 🦞. Great place for seafood lovers. Half price oysters at happy hours from 5pm to 6pm shouldn't be missed. Fresh and delicious 😋
Meltem K — Google review
Nice harbour created for the enjoyment of tourists in a working fishing port. Fresh seafood is available by the harbour, however some of the outlets are a little too touristy. Overall a pleasant place to visit
Paul M — Google review
Whitstable Harbour is a prominent feature in the coastal town of Whitstable, located in Kent, England. Known for its rich maritime history and vibrant local culture, the harbour has been operational since 1832 and has played a crucial role in the town's development, particularly in fishing and oyster cultivation. Key Features of Whitstable Harbour: Oyster Fishing: Whitstable is renowned for its oysters, and the harbour has been central to this trade for centuries. Railway History: The harbour was once connected to the world’s first passenger railway, the Canterbury and Whitstable Railway, which opened in 1830. It remains a working harbour, with a fleet of fishing vessels primarily focused on shellfish. The harbour is a popular tourist destination, offering a variety of activities such as boat tours, seafood restaurants, and markets. Whitstable Oyster Festival: An annual event celebrating the town's oyster fishing heritage, featuring food stalls, music, and entertainment. Harbour Market: Regular markets held in the harbour area where local artisans and vendors sell crafts, food, and other goods. Harbour Village: A collection of small shops and eateries housed in converted shipping containers. Art and Exhibitions: The harbour often hosts art installations and exhibitions, contributing to Whitstable's reputation as a hub for artists. Visitors to Whitstable Harbour can enjoy Seafood Dining, numerous restaurants and eateries offer fresh, locally sourced seafood. Boat Trips: Options include fishing trips, wildlife tours, and excursions to the nearby Red Sands Maunsell Forts. Walking and Cycling: Scenic routes along the coastline provide beautiful views and a chance to explore the town's heritage. Whitstable Harbour blends historical significance with contemporary attractions, making it a vibrant focal point for both locals and tourists. A fantastic day out at Whitstable Harbour that offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural experiences, soaking in the vibrant community atmosphere, and making it a memorable outing. I highly recommend it.
Buddeanie F — Google review
Missed the market, but there were plenty of good food and drink options regardless. Prices are generally higher than elsewhere in Whitstable but that’s to be expected given the location and trendier vibe.
Erryn M — Google review
We visited Whitstabke harbour and had a wonderful dayout. The harboir is a busy area, bustling with rich history of oysters, yacht club and full of people roaming and enjoying their time. The harbour is at its best on high tides . Good place for relaxing and to enjoy quality time to enjoy the vast endless water ahead. The harbour has good quality food courts with an adjacent local market that makes the place quite popular. We took the 30 min boat ride trip which was a wonderful experience to go out and enjoy in the open water.
Khandker Q — Google review
A great couple of days in Whitstable. Lovely walk along the front rounded of by a fish n chip supper sitting along the seafront.

Oyster bar restaurant
Seafood restaurant
The Whitstable Oyster Company is a charming seafood restaurant located in a whitewashed former oyster store, offering a classic rustic setting and stunning views of the oyster grounds. Situated right on the beachfront, this establishment serves mouthwatering seafood, including fresh oysters, fish, and lobster. With its large terrace, wood-paneled rooms, and trendy lounge bar, it provides an ideal spot for enjoying delectable dishes by the sea.
The food here is amazing! We visit Whitstable from time to time just to eat here in this restaurant. The fish and sea food is mega fresh and prepared in a delicious way. There is plenty of space in a few rooms and a garden in front of the sea but I would suggest to book a table especially over the weekend and Summer time. The stuff improved from our last visit. The service was quick and very friendly. The food was amazing as always. The choice of a sea food is pretty good here. They also serve very nice desserts and good coffee. The toilets are spacious and clean. Highly recommend.
Eva K — Google review
I'll admit I'm not a great seafood afficianado but I thoroughly enjoyed the food here. We decided to get a selection of starters that we could all share. My highlights were the dressed crab and pan fried scallops, a special mention to some of the best chips I've ever had. The oysters were lovely and fresh as you would expect. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff here are lovely, very attentive and friendly. Definitely not the cheapest but would come again for a special occasion
Steve S — Google review
Food and service here is excellent. Lovely restaurant with a great view. Oysters are fresh n tasty, though is a little too small for the season. Sole n fish and chips is lovely. Crabs are fresh n lovely. Price is a bit overpriced though.
W W — Google review
A wonderful spot to enjoy excellent fish. The quality is superb, with extremely fresh fish caught daily. The beach is just outside the restaurant truly a beautiful place. The interior is classy, very clean, and welcoming. All the staff are absolutely very kind and helpful. A little gem facing the sea. Prices are fair, considering the extremely high quality of the freshly caught fish. Absolutely recommended. Booking is mandatory. There is an indoor restroom, also accessible for those who use a wheelchair.
Dario F — Google review
Thought this may just be a tourist cliche but we were very pleasantly surprised. Looks almost like a Disney ye olde pirate set but very nicely done and the food was superb. Nice staff. Delicious fresh oysters and seafood did not disappoint. Lovely mussels (a la Biere was particularly good) and a genuinely surprising meaty lovely mackerel. Plus superb scallops with balsamic. Even though drinks aren’t cheap it felt like money very well spent.
David P — Google review
Absolutely love this place! Today we ordered the grilled scallops, Rockefeller grilled oysters, and a warm salmon salad to share — along with two beers. Everything was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and feels like family. Highly recommend booking a table in advance!
Viktoriia K — Google review
We came in to have a lunch on a busy Saturday and were kindly seated in the bar area since we didn't have a reservation in the restaurant which was full. The service was welcoming and we didn't have to wait long for the mains. We went for grilled mackerel and grilled plaice and both were good but the plaice really stood out and was absolutely deliciously cooked. I would really recommend it to anyone who loves fish. Overall the place is nice and you could also accompany your meal with local ales and stouts.
Vsevolod — Google review
Our first visit and certainly not our last. The restaurant provides a rustic environment and a charming relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy wonderful fresh seafood. The lobster was excellent, the staff attentive.....an overall wonderful gastronomic experience.

The beach is overlooked by colorful huts and a promenade, with calm waters suitable for swimming. Nearby East Whitstable provides various amenities including food and drink options. Tankerton Slopes, a grassy nature reserve at the Whitstable end of the beach, is perfect for children to play on.
A place for sea food lovers. I have visited this place twice and love the fresh oysters right from the sea. beautiful place and well connected by train (station Whitstable). The beach is unique as every day twice a sandy beach emerges during low side allowing people to walk into the Sea.

I seem to visit here regularly. It is a very calming and enjoyable place to visit. There are cafes and restaurants, good parking... something for all ages. It has a nice promenade, and one end has Whitstable Castle. Just down near the sea is the hotel seen in the photo.
Joy C — Google review
Blue flag beach, water is somewhat warmer than in many Kent places and it is quite clear. The place itself it is not crowded. Also this place offers nice walks and the Whitestable itself is within walking distance

If you looking for less people and something similar to Brighton beach...this is it!! It's peaceful and beautiful. And lots of fast food and pubs close to beach to all directions.
Stefania T — Google review
Lovely beach, with plenty of space. Very nice to walk on the long footpath. From the top of the hill there are several benches, where you can appreciate the amazing views.
Sónia M — Google review
Tankerton beach is a nice place with clear blue water. Less folks and a partway where you can walk for more than 30 minutes. The only issue is the excessive speed of some children riding their bikes on the partway.

I love this beach, so lovely and peaceful. Such a trendy little area. Beautiful Pebble beach. Lovely town n really nice locals & visitors around like no drunks etc. it’s great for the families and everyone who is looking for a great time, family fun or picnic. U can get amazing photos of sunrise or sunset at the top of slopes. A few options of places to eat or drink at beach but there’s a lot in high street which is not far. This town is really good for seafood.

Wonderful location. Free parking along the shore, long beaches. Very picturesque. Cafe with toilets to the rear. Mainly stoney beaches. View of the Maunsell sea forts in the distance. Wind turbines. Beach huts. Very pleasant all round.

Nestled in a charming 1700s building, the Whitstable Community Museum & Gallery is a delightful destination that showcases the town's rich maritime heritage. Visitors can explore fascinating exhibits featuring artifacts related to Whitstable’s storied past in shipbuilding and fishing, as well as its renowned oyster industry. One of the museum's highlights is The Invicta, one of the world’s oldest steam engines, which adds an intriguing layer to your visit.
This is a fascinating museum expertly run by excellent, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly guides. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, looking at the exhibits and everything being brought to life by its outstanding team there. If you’re visiting Whitstable it’s definitely a must-see. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable.

Lovely museum. I went to see the Rail 200 exhibition about the Crab & Winkle line from Whitstable to Canterbury in 1830. But it has a lot more interesting artefacts and information about things like oysters, fishing, Peter Cushing etc and definitely worth a visit.
Kent B — Google review
My 1st time to Whitstable. Lovely museum to visit. Nice lady tells me history of the steam trains etc. So many charities shops 2 see and do man beautiful shops to see. Old history buildings and wall mural to watch out for. Love the mussels £12.50 for 8. Busy road in high street so watch out when crossing. Pebbles beach. A nice small harbour and stalls. I didn't get to see some sights. I would go back.
Dawn G — Google review
Delightful museum. A bunch of us were there for the Peter Cushing exhibition but there's more to it than that. Friendly staff who'll be happy to open up the rich seam of Whitstable's history. Stop by, you wont regret it.
Ian F — Google review
I visited on Saturday 10th of June (tourist from London). The museum is smaller than I expected but it has a lot of useful information about the town. There is a lot of history mentioned, what I found interesting was the great fire of 1869, and the time line of the Whitstable to Canterbury Railway. The special exhibition was mainly about Peter Cushing, and there was a part dedicated to English King's and Queens with an updated section about the coronation of King Charles III. This museum is suitable for everyone, there is a small garden which is nice to be in on a warm day. Entry fee is very small for tourists (£3). I would recommend exploring for about an hour or longer if you were to visit.
WOSP P — Google review
The museum should be your first stop if/when you visit Whitstable. You will be able to appreciate everything you'll see in town after seeing all that this place has to show you: the history of the harbour, the shipbuilding, the Invictus, the Oyster, deep-sea diving, regatta, the community and some of its celebrity residents who have passed away. And to top it off, the museum has staff who are happy to provide answers to any questions you might have.
Pelu A — Google review
Tiny museum packed with items relating to the Whitstable area and includes a Small giftshop. There is a £3 charge for tourists visiting the museum.
Karen B — Google review
I really enjoyed this little museum. Lots of nuggets of local information which made our stay in whitstable more interesting... Maunsell forts, Invicta and the floods. Learnt about the oyster industry and the town during the war. Even a bit about Peter Cushing. Only open odd times though.

Perfectly cute with lots of variety! Enjoyed some whitebait with a walk along the seafront 🌊 Prices are very reasonable and portions generally good!

Great for a browse and a stroll. Beautiful location with plenty of eateries. We had delicious hot dogs from a little stall outside. There's a fabulous shop selling handmade item's and jewellery.
Kay S — Google review
Fantastic spot. The best of the seaside. Space, beaches places to eat and chill. You need these standards as the seaside towns can become a little bit run down. You don't want to be ripped off, but you don't want it to be too cheap. That it allows standards to drop under an unacceptable level. The beach isn't the best because it's pebbles, but that's not going to stop me from maintaining a five rating.
Steven S — Google review
Wonderful local mini shops adjacent to the harbour which is full with oyster themed products, paintings as well as food courts. The market place is a great addition which provides with good knowledge about the culture and history of city. This is a must visit to explore the local treasures while visiting the harbour.

Whitstable Castle and Gardens is a charming destination tucked away amidst lush greenery with stunning views of the sea. The historic castle, although not an actual fortress, boasts impressive architecture and offers panoramic coastal vistas from its rooftop terrace. The well-maintained gardens provide a serene setting for leisurely strolls or relaxation, with benches to enjoy the sunshine and a welcoming tea room serving refreshments.
We expected a castle and gardens to spend hours in. Arrived, needing tea and breakfast, the cafe was clean and friendly. We chose to sit outside, just ahead of the breakfast rush. Things got busy, but still enjoyable as the tables are not too close to each other. Top tip. Ask for your bacon well done. Food was good. Coffee was ok. When's we decided it was time to explore.... We were leaving half an hour later. The tour guide was having the morning off, so we couldn't see the house. The gardens are very small, but still quite beautiful.

The Whitstable castle looks stunning from outside but unfortunately it was closed for visitors due to an event. The garden is beautiful with play area for kids.

The Castle has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. The castle with its garden is an exquisite place to visit and walk around in the open public park. There is a cafe in the castle with sitting areas both inside and outside. We have tea while having seats outside and enjoying the wonderful views that the place has to offer. This is definitely a wild experience which is a must try while visiting Whitstable. There is a rose garden behind the castle which is well maintained and full of blooms.
Khandker Q — Google review
This is a place to pass through and maybe stop for a cup of tea. Its not really a castle more of an interesting folly. Nice gardens with some unusual plants.
Andy H — Google review
Sadly when we visited there was a wedding so we couldn't look around the castle inside. It was a lot smaller than I expected and the parking signs were confusing all saying permit holders but all you do is put your registration in at reception. Pleasant grounds but we didn't stay long.
Shelagh P — Google review
Attractive castle set amongst landscaped gardens. The building doesn't have the long history of many defensive castles, but makes up for this with a striking appearance. Colourful, well maintained flowerbeds and tropical plants give the gardens an inviting feel, and there's seating around the front of the castle to sit and enjoy refreshments. The rose garden is a particular highlight in early summer. There's a small amount of on-site parking available for disabled visitors, and otherwise plenty of space along the road overlooking Tankerton slopes. Information boards around the castle grounds and in the gatehouse explain more about the site's history.
Andrew T — Google review
Visited whitstable today. A nice sunny day in November. Lots of restaurants and cafes there. We ended up at the Castle cafe. Lovely gardens especially in summer months to walk around. Today, we just went to cafe and had lunch. Quite a varied menu. Staff were friendly, food good. So no complaints. Liked the idea of having menu to suit smaller appetites which stopped wasting food that is too much for some people to eat.

Having enjoyed wonderful service from Maddie for years with my husband and late dad I am sorry to say we shall never be back. As someone who is retired and lives in between my overseas homes and uk I have stayed and dined in top class restaurants and hotels and know what a coffee smells, looks like etc. we previously loved the service from Maddie. Amazing lady who goes above and beyond. We waited 30 mins for two decaf coffees and a piece of cake. I had to chase for them. There was an aftertaste of detergent and therefore I asked for new coffees. I was told by a rather obnoxious young lady? that it was because it was decaf ! I explained we’d been here for years and never had a decaf coffee like today. After a chat the more mature man offered two non decaf. These were brought to us by the obnoxious lady who told us how important she was as a previous coffee barista and spend 5 mins telling us how wrong we were and it was not the coffees fault !! The replacement cups again tasted exactly the same so we left them almost full. Hence after 10 years we say goodbye. Slow service and young staff who have no etiquette and think they are right about it all ! So long and good luck !!

Old Neptune is a charming Victorian inn located right on the beach, featuring period decor and offering pub-grub along with live music. Known as "Neppy" to locals, it is one of the few pubs found on the beaches of Britain. The pub provides an ideal spot to enjoy the sights and sounds of the sea while sipping a beer on the beach.
This is a great pub right on the beach at Whitstable!! Always very busy because of where it is! We were lucky and got a seat inside, just before the lunchtime rush! We had the fish and chips as the fish is fresh from the harbour! There was a bit of a wait for lunch but it wasn't too long! There's real ale and plenty of other drinks to choose!! The food was hot and delicious as well!

This charming old pub right on the beach is a must if you are visiting this cute town of Whitstable. It was definitely hopping on the early August day that we stopped in and we were able to secure a beachside picnic table for our group of three adults and three children. We did see some reservation signs on certain tables so it seems you can plan for an outdoor table in advance. We had the fish and chips which was very tasty and a couple of pints of ale, which was also good, the ladies working behind the counter were very sweet and helpful.

A lovely pub right on the beach. Reasonable prices for drinks. Very dog friendly. Mu husband, my doggy Koda and myself visited whilst out for the day in Whitstable. I only gave 4 stars as I didnt try the food this time but I will update my review if I do.

Picture perfect location jutting out along the beach, with a huge covered outdoor patio area. Perfect classic rural British pub feel inside with great service and amazing fresh fish & trips. Must go in Whitstable.

Nice view, great beers and ciders. Food was not what we expected : you pay more for the view than quality. But we can all agree it’s the perfect spot for sunsets !

Great old timey quirky pub with plenty of tap choice, great selection of top shelf liquor and BBQ food outside on the terrace literally at the top of the beach. Sounds of people enjoying themselves all around the massive seating area, waves lapping the beach 40 ft away and very friendly accommodating staff serving drinks to tables with hot & cold food. Will be returning.

West Beach in Kent is a dog-friendly destination located in the resort town of Whitstable. The beach offers miles of sandy shoreline for dogs to race about on, and there's even a dog-friendly pub right on the sand. Visitors can relax with a pint at the pub while enjoying views of the sea and watching people, as their furry friends explore the shingle shoreline or take a snooze at their feet.
It was very cold when we went but it’s beautiful and we’ll be back when the weather is warmer. We talked to some of the locals and they were very friendly. The area felt very safe.

Nice beach for a walk. Can collect some oyster shells and stones. Maybe swim in the summer heatwave. But otherwise pretty chilled promenade with not much going on.

A shingle beach on Whistable seafront. A great location when the tide is out to collect shells and various coloured stones and Peebles. There is a good broadwalk made of concrete and the beachfront is dotted with a number of beach huts. There is also a very nice cafe called the West Beach Cafe which serve an excellent Tea with very good scones. Alcoholic drinks are also available. Very friendly owners too. There are a number of very smart beach front dwellings. All in all a great location for a good walk as well as a place to walk your dog's.

The Lobster Shack is a warm and inviting eatery that offers a variety of seafood dishes, from lobster to fried fish, all accompanied by a selection of beers. It's the perfect place for a sit-down meal or a more casual beachside experience. With its canteen-style setup, this bustling beach shack serves up delicious plates of lobster and fish and chips at quite a pace. Additionally, it features an oyster bar with various shellfish options and toppings.
some of the most delicious oysters i’ve ever had! juicy and large even tho not prime season. the fish is also so fresh, and there are gluten free options available too. the lobster and shrimp roll was also a showstopper, loaded and delectable! reasonable prices for the quality you’re getting. also amazing views and breeze to be right on the water. seating was fast and ordering was easy via qr but you could go up to ask any questions without worry and everyone was accommodating. great vibes!

The food and atmosphere was excellent! Decided to splurge a little to try the grilled lobster half and it didn’t disappoint at all. It was so fresh and delicious! Paired well with the white wine. The oysters were very fresh and amazing with Tabasco sauce. Service was good but I’m only giving 4 stars because the staffs were not very proactive to welcome me upon arrival. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon slightly after 12:00pm when the restaurant had only 20% customers. Highly recommend to come before 12:30pm on a weekend because the restaurant was completely full by 1:00pm. Indoor and outdoor dining had good atmosphere. Worth a visit!

Bustling shack by the sea with tasty classics. The Lobster Shack turned out to be a wonderfully atmospheric place. I found it thanks to a GPT chat recommendation, and the fish and chips were truly delicious. We skipped the oysters—though they’re clearly a highlight for many visitors— as well as the huge seafood platter that’s very popular. From what I’d read, I expected a fine-dining spot, but in reality it feels more like a big, lively seaside fish-and-chips bar. And honestly, that suits the location perfectly. Right on the shore, with plenty of outdoor seating, it has a relaxed, authentic charm. We visited during the May Bank Holidays; it was windy, so we sat inside. It was crowded and a little noisy, but the food was worth it. The stainless-steel tables add to the down-to-earth vibe—almost as if they were once used for fish prep and simply left for diners. Parking is available nearby, though finding a space can be tricky. Overall: tasty, atmospheric, and definitely worth trying.

A simple birthday treat. Sat outside and enjoyed great quality oysters, lobster, shrimp & lobster baguette, good chips, zero beer for me and a glass of champagne for the birthday lady! Efficient and friendly service. Order from the table via QR codes. View...looking out across the estuary. Very cool and laid back.

My first time in Whitstable. My husband suggested we try the Lobster Shack. We tried to make a booking, but he was told it was fully booked. We would have gone somewhere else but we went in and asked for a table for tro and we're given a choice of tables. You book your order via a QR code on the table. It worked very well our drinks arrive quickly. Not long after the food we ordered. We both had lobster thermidor a full and half lobster 🦞 it comes with chips and a salad. The food is delicious 😋 and piping hot. If you sit inside you can see the staff cooking everything, it's amazing how quick they work with a full restaurant and customers sitting outside. I definitely recommend eating here. There is a good choice of food on the menu and the service is quick.

My boyfriend and I came here for the holidays. We ordered half a lobster and chips, butter shrimp with salad, and fried shrimp with chips. The restaurant atmosphere is very good. It is next to the sea, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. There are seats inside and outside by the sea. The staff is friendly and attentive to service.

An absolute 5-star restaurant! Escape the crowds and seek out this fantastic beachfront gem serving an outstanding selection of fresh, delicious seafood. I discovered it on a previous visit and was keen to return—and it didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed oysters and prawns paired with a lovely Sancerre (available by the bottle or half-bottle, which was ideal). Later that evening, after a disappointing supper in town, we found ourselves wishing we’d just come back here instead. Already planning a return—possibly this morning—for breakfast oysters!

The Forge is a no-frills oyster shack located by the beach in Whitstable. It offers a selection of local seafood, including juicy oysters that can be enjoyed while sitting on the wall overlooking the sea. The unassuming shack also serves local beer, coffee, scampi and chips, and sugary hot donuts. Visitors can watch the staff shuck oysters on-site before purchasing their own.
Great spot for some fresh oysters. The native oysters are meaty, but they also have rock oysters as an option. The chips are chunky and great. Good range of drinks on tap (& bottles). Fast service. Very popular with tourists and locals - location is key. There's outdoor seating available.

This is our go to fish and chips in Whitstable. We always return as it’s so fresh and you can sit and look out to sea while you eat. The portions are really big so we like to share a large cod and chips between two and grab a set of oysters to go with. The drinks are all local which is lovely, I would particularly recommend the oyster stouts. You can also get donuts fresh to order and proper ice cream. The staff are always very friendly and laid back even when you can see that they’re under pressure. It’s such a nice atmosphere to be able to see the oysters being shucked on the seafront or watch your donuts go through the machine. Will always recommend the Forge and will always return!

Lovely rustic experience right by the seashore and yacht club. Delicious breakfast barms and good coffee. Perfect spot for a midway stop on a walk along the beachfront. Very very handy for our stay at the Whitstable beach house. Shame missed the happy hour oysters - fantastic value
David P — Google review
Does exactly what it says - no frills oyster shack! Happy hour 5-6pm for £1.25 oysters or 6 for £6.25. We sadly missed it by 10 minutes but even full priced it isn’t too bad (£2.50 per oyster or 6 for £12.50). Would definitely recommend for the oysters and al fresco beachside drinks. As other reviewers have said - probably not the best spot in Whitstable for fish and chips.

Great, fresh oysters, turnover so fast you know they've never been lying around for long. Big portion of cod and chips and locally brewed beer, including the famous oyster stout. Would go back, without a doubt.
Kev H — Google review
Nestled near the scenic shores of Tinkerton, Forge offers a delightful open-air dining experience that perfectly complements its standout fish and chips. The fresh sea breeze and relaxed beachside atmosphere set the stage for a meal that’s both comforting and memorable. The fish was beautifully cooked—golden and crispy on the outside, with tender, flaky white meat inside. The batter had just the right balance of seasoning and crunch, never overpowering the delicate flavor of the fish. Paired with perfectly cooked chips—crisp on the outside, fluffy within—it was a classic done exceptionally well. What elevates the experience is the setting. The open-air layout lets you soak in the coastal views and ambiance, making it ideal for a laid-back lunch or early evening meal. Friendly service rounds out the visit, making Forge a must-visit spot for anyone craving a quality seaside fish and chips.

Whitstable Beach is a charming stretch of shingle coastline that offers a serene and picturesque setting for visitors. The beach is lined with colorful beach huts and holiday homes, adding to its quaint appeal. While not the most sandy, it remains popular with families on holiday and local dog walkers. It's also known for being frequented by some famous personalities who have holiday homes in the area.
I sat on the many rocks along the beach since there isn’t much sand, and enjoyed an amazing view looking out over the water. It’s a peaceful spot perfect for relaxing and taking in the natural beauty. A great place to unwind and appreciate the seaside scenery!

Just 1.5 hours away from London, this place offers a definite change of scenery. It's an oyster paradise with charming narrow streets. Along the coast, you can enjoy a pleasant stroll among small sailboats. Fish and chips seem much tastier here, perhaps due to the seaside setting. The oysters are creamy and very delicious. The beach isn't suitable for walking, but it's perfect for collecting seashells with your child. It's a sweet stopover, but not worth a special trip from London just for this place.
Batu A — Google review
Very traditional with bays, pebble beach, not enough pathways to walk, narrow, the high street is also charming with narrow lanes, good local shops having traditional items and good coffee shops, allow for 2 hrs if you are just visiting or 3 hrs with oyster lunch

Don't walk barefoot on it and you'll have a GREAT time. I'd say this is one of the most dangerous pebbled beach in the entire of UK. Lots of dangerous and sharp debris that can cut. Other than that, best seaside walk in the entire South East region! The atmosphere, the openness, the scenery are just a symphony of tranquillity. Love every moment I spent walk around it and the small town. Of course I had my shoes on the entire time but beware, especially when kids are eager to get down to the water without any shoes or slippers.

It's a nice view over the sea, but not that high and in front of a (quiet) road. If you're hoping for a proper clifftop walk it's better to go to nearby Broadstairs. With that said I loved the Long Rock beach nature reserve below where you can find crabs, unusual rocks with sea creatures wrapped around them and a lot of seaweed. Really peaceful and interesting to look around. Atmosphere reminded me of Dungeness. I've included pictures from there too because Google doesn't let you review it separately.

Tankerton is a little village (street), in between The Hampton, Herne Bay and Whitstable, Kent. The panoramic view of the North sea and abstract cloudy skies are breathtaking. Especially between January and December. I think it's classed as an estuary. Anyway, it's stunning. Loads to do. You can walk for miles along the beach and find quiet spots, drift wood for your art projects and shells for your soap, incense or an ashtray for your Berkeley menthol fags. I've Scunthorpe, but I've been here 20 years now. It is literally like living on another planet. If you catch ma drift. Blessings ❤️🙏🏼

It's a nice place to have a stroll, walk the dog, or have a picnic on top of the slope. It has some parking along the road but it might get busy during the day. I saw people doing some kite-surfing when i came. Looked really fun! The huts along the slopes are so colourful, it's a perfect place for pictures.

Grass bank home to rows of colourful beach huts, offering pleasant coastal views over the pebble beach below. On a clear evening you can see very a dramatic sunset over the sea. Worth walking out on The Street when the tide is out and looking back at the beach huts for a different perspective on the slopes. Accessible short walks into Whitstable or longer walks towards Herne Bay. Plenty of free parking along the road (can be hard to find a space in peak season and on sunny days). Cafés and public toilets at regular intervals.

Located in the Horsebridge Arts Centre, this community-based arts and charity center has been operating for nearly two decades. Initially reliant on grants, it is now sustained by local artists renting gallery spaces and support from residents and tourists. The center hosts a variety of art exhibitions showcasing both traditional and contemporary works. It also offers classes for adults and children, as well as a welcoming cafe with clean facilities. Visitors can even make donations to support the center's activities.
Community Arts Centre providing a hub for local artists. The centre has both a large and small gallery space on the ground floor, a small shop tucked away to the left of the reception desk and the stairs. Upstairs there is a cafe, meeting rooms and a large space used as a cinema!

The Horsebridge Arts and Community Center has been running for almost 20 years. Originally it was supported by mainly grants, but its almost fully funded by the artists hiring the gallery spaces and the locals, plus the transient holiday makers. The Horsebridge is well worth a visit as it has many excellent art exhibitions as there is a plethora of talented creatives wanting to show off their talents. With a mixture of traditional and contemporary there is something for everyone. The center also supports workshops, classes and film showings. Check the Horsebridge out the next time you are in Whitstable....you won't be disappointed.

I wish there was a horsebridge arts center in every town and I felt so lucky to be a part of it while here on holiday.

We watched it being built and over the years it's been quite an attraction. It's on the old Vounteer Bureau site. I'm not sure I particularly like the rather contrived up-turned-boat roof but I know other people do. I'm not sure if they still have the cafe upstairs as it never did a particularly good trade being out of the way. They have regular art displays and these are at best mundane affairs. Local artists with more enthusiasm than skill. Let's be frank some of them have no skill at all and it's all a bit embarrassing. Still, I suppose it's harmless enough and keeps them busy. I've noticed some of the staff on reception have become rather truculent lately. Not all of them, but some appear to consider it part of their duties to rudely demand a donation to the charity running the place. It's remarkable - give someone a desk and a computer and their childish need to express authority soon takes over. These staff have a decidedly adversarial manner and seem to see themselves as standing guard which is all very unfortunate for a charitable body.
Mark H — Google review
Despite being a known local arts centre somehow we never visited until now for a toddlers event. It's clearly an asset to have such a facility and periodically it seems the centre is used effectively in the organisation of a range of community arts activities, which is great. That said, perhaps of this being in Whitstable, I was expecting a more obviously swanky and impressive venue, perhaps like the Quarter House in Folkestone, instead of an arts centre housed in a building and with facilities that feel functional rather than enticing in a government building sort of way. Nonetheless, the room for the toddler event was perfectly adequate and there seemed to be the capacity to host a range of activities. The downstairs exhibition hall looks perfectly adequate.
Benjamin V — Google review
Cafe much improved with new owners. Quite expensive though. £5.30 for a pot of tea and a (delicious) brownie. Music from vinyl records on turntables. Games for children. Nice ambience. Exhibition not open when I visited.
Jacqueline S — Google review
This is a real community based arts centre, and is also a charity. There are various classes and workshops for both adults and kids, but is also nice just to pop in for a look around the exhibits, or stop upstairs at the cafe. There are clean and well maintained toilets here too. There is also a collection box downstairs by the front desk, so you can make a donation if you want to.

One word, WOW! This place did not disappoint. We had the crab rarebit to start, and this was a 20/10. My sister had the prawns and she said they were super meaty and flavoursome. The focaccia was the best we’ve ever had! We then had roast dinners, chicken supreme and beef, with a side of pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese. The portion sizes were ample, and great value for money. The staff were warm and friendly and super attentive. Will definitely be returning!
Jemma J — Google review
I searched for a resturant in Whitstable for a Saturday evening dinner with my partner. After looking at various resturants I picked Samphire based on the great reviews and enticing food pics. On arrival we received a warm welcome and was shown to our seat. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. We ordered some cocktails which were okay. We ordered starters which arrived separately and I had finished mine before my partner's came which the server apologised for. I chose the oysters which were really fresh and tasty. Unfortunately my partners grilled prawns really lacked in flavour. After 40 mins the mains arrived. For my main I ordered the fish pie which many reviewers absolutely raved about. It was okay at best. . . Really under seasoned and bland unfortunately. My partner ordered the steak which came with no accompaniments, so he chose the potatoe pave. The steak itself was tasty and the potatoes were okay but quite bland. The overall experience was lacking based on the reviews of others and in my opinion not worth the price. Not worth a second visit.

A real treat. Hearty and flavourful meals. Delicious ham with creamed leeks, fish pie and Creole mussels. Brilliant vegetarian options which everybody enjoyed. Traditional desserts with excellent textures. Very long and interesting wine list. Friendly staff and jolly atmosphere. The only thing that spoiled it was that a children’s dish from the children’s menu was spicy, it didn’t state this, and she didn’t eat much.

They made us Rockefeller oysters by mistake so it took an extra 15 minutes. The waitress apologized and ask us if you wanted the Rockefeller oysters too and of course, we said yes. But she never brought them and just brought us the regular raw oysters. Then she charged for the Rockefeller oysters instead of the regular oysters. We had to point this and it was corrected and they also added a service charge even though the service was not good. I felt really embarrassed afterwards because I asked for the Rockefeller and never got them. The smoked shrimp were very tiny and not worth the €12 price. Spent over €100 on just a few appetizers.

The chips were golden, fluffy, and paired beautifully with the fish. This isn't just any fish and chips – it's a taste of tradition, served with a smile in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The freshness of the seafood was evident in every bite, making it clear why this spot is so beloved by locals and visitors alike. Beware there are queues out the door on a Friday! Do yourself a favor and make sure to stop by for an unforgettable meal. You won't be disappointed!

This is an absolutely brilliant find - service was warm and friendly and prompt, food was superb and price was good too. The cod was huge and fresh, chips cooked to perfection and the omelette was filled beautifully with melty cheese and lots of bacon. Little legs had the cheeseburger and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely return.

We visited Ossies Best Fish and Chips and had a fantastic experience. We ordered cod and haddock with chips, along with curry sauce and tartar sauce. Both types of fish were excellent – the cod was fresh and flaky, while the haddock had a lovely rich flavour, all coated in perfectly crisp batter. The chips were golden and delicious, and the sauces really complemented the meal. The portions were generous and great value for money. The location makes it even better, as it’s right by the beach – the perfect setting to enjoy classic fish and chips by the sea. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, even during busy times. We’d definitely recommend Ossies to anyone visiting Whitstable – it truly lives up to its name!

The team hete is dedicated to providing exceptional, friendly customer service, offering both dine-in and takeout options. Given time constraints, we requested takeout packaging, a request readily accommodated by the staff at takeout pricing. The food quality was outstanding, exhibiting clear freshness. The intimate yet airy space was opened by owner Lee Murray, who is well-known for selling the best Kentish produce at Murrays General Store in Canterbury. The menu features straight-up Spanish tapas like tortillas, ham croqueta balls, and grilled octopus with spicy Canarian mojo picon.
First time coming to the harbour street tapas and it won’t be the last! Started with some delicious tinto de verano which definitely went down a treat. And then the service was quick, attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, generous and beautiful. What more could you want?

Not been here for a long time and wish we had come back sooner. Very busy and fortunately dropped in ahead of time to reserve a table. Despite being busy the service was friendly and helpful, food almost came too quickly as would have happily lingered longer. Whitebean Hummus and the asparagus tortilla were delicious but hard to find fault with any of the dishes we tried.

OMG it's just so good...after 2 weeks in Andlusian Spain (predominantly eating our weight in octopus) we just needed a foodie fix, and boy did HST deliver; great service, amazing food & good choice of wine....& delighted to find Galician Octopus (pictured here with the accompanying potatoes) as their special....and yes it was...very special.

We had a wonderful time here as the food was amazing. Some highlights would be the fried baby squid and grilled tiger pawns. We also ordered pan con tomate, padron peppers and duroc pork ribs. The portions were relatively large and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Spanish food.

Delish lunch with my son 😋, it was a pretty dreary day, so put some sunshine in it! Octopus was our favourite, superb balance of flavours. Fluffy crispy patatas bravas, croquetas chicken and leek, could have eaten a bowl full !!

Amazing Spanish food (and I used to live in Spain)! Good wine and all reasonably priced. The staff were attentive and friendly. Would come back!

Such a fantastic meal! Everything we ordered was beyond delicious! So so tasty and one of the best meals we have had in a long time. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. My partner has an egg allergy and the staff were so kind and helpful, they really took the time to go through the menu to show him what he could have and were extremely accommodating. A special thank you to waitress Leah who was especially considerate and knowledgable about allergies. Sometimes eating out can be a little tricky but she made the whole experience very easy and enjoyable for us :-)

Farm & Harper is a vibrant restaurant located on the High Street, featuring bright pastel murals and a welcoming atmosphere. Owned by Phill Macgregor and his wife Sarah, the focus here is on serving wholesome breakfast and lunch options during the week, with extended opening hours for teatime during weekends. The menu offers a variety of dishes such as Famous Farmer big breakfast, fish curry, king prawns on sourdough, homemade soups, fish subs, and generous pasta plates.
This is a lovely place to come for brunch or breakfast if you’re in Whitstable. I’ve been here twice now and had the three little pigs the first time round. This time round I went for the sausage butty with egg, and it was delicious. The bread was cut thick and was so soft. The sausages had a nice taste to them and the egg was perfectly runny. The hash browns were perfectly crisp and the chipotle ketchup that came with them had a nice kick and tang. The sweet potato and chickpea fritters were nice and fragrant.

A delightful spot we stumbled across! The coffee was really good, and we shared the cinnamon roll croissant with berry compote, absolutely delicious. We were seated opposite the kitchen, and every dish that came out looked amazing actually! The staff were friendly, and the whole place just seemed really well run. It clearly seems to be a popular spot, and for good reason!

Sisters breakfast treat thought we would try Farm & Harper. Had a table for two it was quite busy. Sister chose Three Little Pigs it consisted of a sausage patty, smoked streaky bacon, black pudding topped with gruyere cheese tomato & chilli chutney in a brioche bun. When it came my sister asked for the bacon to be cooked more. It was a big stack she said it was good except the black pudding was bland. I chose the Hot House Smoked Salmon with a side of black pudding and streaky bacon. The sourdough bread had a herb creme fraiche spread on top, then smoked salmon with 2 poached eggs then topped with sweet pickled red onion rings. The streaky bacon was crisp one end and just cooked the other end. I also found the black pudding lacking in spice/seasoning. The poached eggs were hard to describe one was partially broken the other was soft but both the egg whites were glutiness in the middle as if pre poached and chilled then not thoroughly warmed to finish setting the whites the photo might show what I mean. I opted not to have the pea shoots on top.

The photos dont do it justice! Very friendly service; food is so fresh and tasty (especially the bread). Family owned and run - which you can tell from the service. Our favourite was the banana bread with bacon and banana. Would recommend and hope to visit again soon!

We visited for a late breakfast on a very hot, sunny Monday morning, when not much else was open for breakfast, but it wasn't too busy at around 9.45am. We chose a seat out the back, under the roofed area, which was initially very quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately we were joined by a very noisy family with young children, and as result we decided to move inside. However, sat right next to kitchen was still much quieter! We each had a Forager breakfast with added eggs (1x poached, 1x fried - both of which were cooked as expected). Food arrived in around 15 minutes from ordering, 10 minutes after drinks arrived - lovely coffee! Very delicious food; especially the smoky beans and sweet potato and chickpea fritter. Toast was nice, although it would have been nice to have a granary/wholemeal option. There's a toilet out the back which was really clean, (with both disabled and baby change facilities) although the flush was a little odd!
Dani B — Google review
Very nice little cafe in Whitstable! We came here for breakfast and their food is fantastic, they have loads of good breakfast options including vegetarian dishes which I love. The ingredients they use are also extremely fresh, I would definitely come back here again.
Denisa T — Google review
Not great, not terrible - the food is the highlight here, it's really good and a reasonable price which is unusual in Whitstable. Sadly the service could do with some work, the waitresses seem fairly unbothered or interested in helping, it almost seemed as if any request was a bit too much but perhaps this was an off day and we are all entitled to have off days. The other area of improvement would be a second toilet, having one for all customers to share created quite a queue!
Tom — Google review
Inconspicuous on the high street but a gem of a cafe that serves gluten free brunch. We got to as close to a full english as we could, and it was delicious. Hash browns were perfect, fritatas delectable. I had the forager item. Despite no meat, I was very much full and kept me satiated right through to the evening. Do reserve to get a good seat, of which there are only a handful out in the windows. There is also an upstairs so i don't know what's that like, but on the ground floor, the seats near the entrance and windows are the best.

Whitstable Boat Trips offers a variety of tours, including 20-minute bay tours and hour-long sea tours to the iconic Maunsell Sea Forts from the Second World War. Additionally, there are nature trips available to see the seals in Whitstable. Visitors have praised the knowledgeable tour guides and close-up views of the sea forts and wind farm. The modern, spacious boats provide a comfortable ride even in choppy waters.
I did the Bay Trip with Whitstable Boat Trip Company, and it was a good experience. The 30-minute tour offered lovely views over the bay. Because it was a bit windy, the waves added a little adrenaline rush to the ride, which made it more fun without being overwhelming. Overall, it was an enjoyable way to see the coastline and a nice addition to my day in Whitstable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to forts yesterday! The staff were welcoming and informative! Even got a gifted stick of rock at the end of our trip, which was a lovely gesture. Highly recommend going out to see the first. It’s haunting but wonderful at the same time. Will defo do this again.

The boats are designed to offer comfort even to those with special needs, such as people with reduced mobility, and the staff is available to answer specific questions and provide assistance. There are plenty of seats both inside and outside, allowing you to choose your preferred spot during the trip. The journey lasts about an hour and a half. You can also choose other trips: Explore the Bay or visit the seal colony. Whitstable Boat Trips stands out for its professionalism, safety, and quality of service, making it a highly recommended choice for those wishing to explore the Red Sand Sea Forts and the offshore wind farms off the Kent coast. Highly recommended.

Did the 1hr fort & windmill boat trip. Was surreal to be in closed proximity to the structures. The water was quite choppy, waterproof clothing is recommended if you do mind being drenched. There is also inside seating. The staff would advise which direction the water will spray into the boat. Some explanation on the fort history. Anyway, I just want to express my huge appreciation to the lady staff at the ticket booth who slotted me in eventhough all the spots are already sold out. (14 June, 2.45pm). Love the boat trip.

The Street is a picturesque shingle strip extending from Tankerton Beach, about half a mile long and exposed at low tide. It offers a nostalgic walk reminiscent of Victorian times, with the estuary's waters on either side and wooden groynes along the beach. The area is known for its beauty but can be deceptively hazardous due to quick tides and strong currents. Visitors are advised to time their visit with low tide and be cautious while walking along this unique natural sandbank.
Awesome little walk out to sea at low tide this morning with the hubby and dogs xx

Raif V — Google review
This makes an exciting difference to a pier, but you do need to time your visit with low tide, to walk along this spit that juts out to sea and you may need to get your feet wet if you want to walk all the way along it!

an amazing spot with lots of unique and delicious tapas! their seasonal menu is full of gems and the croquetas i had were absolutely delectable, full of flavour and the perfect balance of crispiness and softness. they were so unique to anything i’ve had and unforgettable! the hummus and tzatziki with bread was delicious and refreshing, the gluten free bread being made in house was such a nice treat! the desserts are also showstopping, we had the sticky toffee ice cream, lemon posset, and cinnamon/blood orange ice cream and everything was so fresh and bespoke. we had an amazing time here, sitting outside with the breeze, and al the staff were super lovely as well — in particular edie was a complete star, double checking what we ordered with the kitchen to insure there was no risk to allergies, recommending amazing food, and all around being kind and great. 100% recommendations and wish we could come back everyday!

Jojo’s 19:45 - July 12th - 150£ The food was good. Enjoyed it. 2 starters, salad, and one or two other things, no dessert and 4 drinks, came to about 150£. Was to be expected as this restaurant is set in a lovely location and stand alone. Service was good. One thing I did like is that I was called prior to booking to be told that my table of preference wouldn’t be available but that we’d be close to a window (which, it turned out, the entire place is pretty much windows) and that extra care prior to visiting was nice. In house service, was nice, a little rushed, but pleasant, polite and nice. Very simple and lovely dining experience. When in the area again, will definitely return! Keep up the good work guys.

I booked Jojos as the venue for my 60th Birthday party and I could not have been more delighted with the way the evening went. In fact, even before the night itself, Joe was helpful, approachable and professional when we discussed what I might want for my event. On the night, the setting was stunning with the sun setting over Tankerton Slopes. The space is warm, beautiful and tastefully decorated. I’d booked a swing band who set up in a dedicated space with plenty of room for dancing, and a Prosecco bar welcomed my guests. The food was, as ever, delicious and plentiful and the staff super friendly, helpful and obliging. I am so grateful for all their help in ensuring I was able to throw such a fun evening. Honestly, my guests are still talking about the fabulous food. Special mention must go to the selection of cheeses! Incredible.

Visiting a year later, Jojo’s continues to impress once again. The service is excellent, friendly and attentive staff without being too much. The view is incredible and the ambiance in the evening is stunning. The drinks are always good with a great choice of cocktails and the food is brilliant, feels like London quality but very reasonably priced. With this being our second trip whilst on holiday, we decided it’s probably one of our favourite restaurants in the UK when all elements are considered. If you’re visiting the area, this is a MUST visit.

Best place for a Sunday Roast in Whitstable. Traditional, cosy seaside pub. Me and my bf have tried the chicken, beef and pork roast and all taste flavourful & delicious! Staff are extremely attentive and they do not put a large service charge on the bill (unless in a larger group) which is a bonus as you are free to tip as you please (which we do because they deserve it). Live music is always a nice touch and you have a lovely view of the seafront. Surprised by some of the bad reviews on here, they seem quite harsh in my opinion.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Pearson's Arms in Whitstable, and honestly, it’s exactly what you want from a seaside pub. While the exterior might look unassuming, stepping inside is like getting a warm hug. It instantly feels welcoming, especially on a chilly day, thanks to that lovely open fire crackling away in the hearth. When I visited it was very busy, and there was nowhere to sit which was a pity. What I particularly appreciate is that The Pearson’s Arms operates as a genuine free house. This means they aren’t tied to one single brewery, and it shows in their selection. The range of real ales, local Kentish brews, and fine wines on offer is genuinely impressive and clearly curated with care. It's fantastic to have such freedom of choice when you're looking for the perfect accompaniment to the sea air. I went for lunch, opting for a seasonal seafood dish, which was clearly made with locally-sourced ingredients and expertly cooked. The upstairs dining area, with its fantastic views over the bay, gives it a gastro-pub feel, while the bar downstairs retains that proper, cozy English pub charm. Now, a crucial tip: if you plan on visiting for their renowned Sunday roast or just a weekend meal, booking a table is absolutely advisable. I saw just how busy it gets—the place was absolutely packed! Don't risk turning up without a reservation, or you'll likely face a long wait. It's a highly popular spot for a very good reason. I’m already planning my next trip back; it’s a perfect slice of Kentish coastal hospitality.

Once again delved into the Kent seaside after hearing rumblings around The Pearsons arms, after a brief scan of the menu online we had little choice but to immediately book. So a table for 4 it was. This pub and restaurant offers up some of the finest cocktails and food around, I’m sure it is adored by locals and what a Sunday it was. Without hesitation my partner and I opted for no starter however going off the lunch we had I wouldn’t hesitate to try any and all of them. Upon arrival I went straight into the drinks menu, we would usually opt for wine however I am a sucker for a Bloody Mary. And despite it taking what seemed a long time to prepare (not a criticism as it was absolutely perfect) I can say with some certainty it has raised the Bloody Mary bar exceptionally high. We were seated upstairs and the views are stunning looking out over the bay. My friends decided on lamb and beef, and raved about it. Everything cooked to utter perfection, we decided on the roast sharer, it is hard to put into words and pictures how wonderfully it is presented, with various cuts of delightfully succulent meats. I was torn between it all, the pork comes with a crackling that pretty much knocked my socks off, the chicken was so tender, the lamb and beef cooked to a perfect medium rare. A massive selection of veg, Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, gravy, the list goes on. I was sceptical around the price tag however you are getting every pennies worth of food and plenty left that they happily bagged up for us to take. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, and am eager to head along to some of there specials nights to see what else the wizards in the kitchen can prepare. After stuffing my face and enjoying a lovely bottle of Sauvignon we headed downstairs just in time to catch the amazing Thomas Abrahams. I have seen him on a few occasions but he literally had the entire pub bouncing with his solo guitar performances, rarely stopping for air. The atmosphere was incredible, everyone in such a positive mood and dancing I’m sure long after we left. I often find I’m looking for things that maybe could be different, but I wouldn’t change a single thing, it’s a solid 5*, if you get the chance to experience this Sunday greatness don’t turn it down. I look forward to returning in the near future. Hats off to the bar team, chefs, restaurant team and everyone involved in making it quite possibly the finest Sunday lunch cuisine we have experienced to date. You will not be disappointed.

Prawns were amazing as was the whipped feta just gorgeous. We were extra greedy and also had the Tel pork burger and crab monsieur and on a Monday they have draft beer for £5. Will definitely be back. They are also dog friendly 🐕

Absolutely fantastic pub! The atmosphere was brilliant from the moment we walked in — warm, lively, and welcoming. The fireplace adds a lovely touch, especially on a chilly evening, and the live music gave the place a great vibe without being too loud. It’s also dog-friendly, which makes it even better. The selection of beers and gins seemed endless — something for everyone, and all top quality. We were genuinely impressed and left very pleased. Definitely coming back!

A quiet Monday evening in The Pearsons Arms, but what a lovely pub. We have 2 dogs so stayed downstairs in the bar area. Cosy snug sofa seating at the rear. Very old traditional looking pub where we were made to feel very welcome by the friendly barmaid. Service was excellent and food was fantastic. Very fresh plump mussels with chips, bangers and mash with onion gravy all cooked to perfection. Good choice of locally brewed beers and lagers. Loved it.

Love love love this gallery. It was my first visit and I was welcomed by the talented Gaven Alexander, whose exhibition ‘Serenity’ is on now until 12th September. We talked art and life as an artist, pet portraits, pop art and much more. I LOVED his album cover art - and we are both old enough to remember Kate Bush’s ‘Running up that Hill’ first time around!!! The gallery is white, bright and welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend a visit.

What a brilliant gallery supporting local artists with an affordable place to exhibit. The window is an excellent place to entice passers by. The shows are nearly always invigilated by the exhibiting artists so you get insight into the artworks. Never disappointed when visiting and have seen many inspiring exhibitions. Keep up the fantastic work all.

Ok its not a massive gallery. But to view some local artists work, its ideal. Your more than likely to be able to talk to the artist themselves, to get an idea how they perceive there work. On this occasion I met a kent artist Miss S Langford with some of her most beautiful and unusual paintings. I could not get over the detail, on close scrutiny things can be found to bring a smile to you face. Step back and the work takes on a different look. I've never seen the like before. Loved it.

Characterful and petite gallery in the centre of Whitstable. Artists hire this gallery to display and sell their work direct. There are plenty of different artists throughout the year and always a variety of styles and media including paintings drawings prints collage cards and sculpture. The artists we've met there have always been friendly and happy to discuss their works and techniques. Well worth a visit when you are in the town.

Chappell Contemporary, located at 30 Oxford Street in Whitstable, was founded by Paula Chappell as a platform for emerging and established artists to exhibit their work. The gallery features a diverse collection of limited edition prints, including Silk Screen Printing, Lithographs, Etchings, and Giclee from artists across the country. Visitors can also explore the rotating display of local artists at the Fishslab Gallery adjacent to Chappell Contemporary.
Recently purchased my fifth piece of art from Paula at Chappell Contemporary. She always has amazing pieces in her gallery and displays them beautifully. It’s a nice, comfortable vibe though I bought my latest piece direct using the website / own art loan. Paula was super helpful and kind communicating how this all works. Art was dispatched really quickly and the postage and packing of the painting was extremely considered. I’m really happy with the picture, service and experience and will definitely be a returning again soon.

We discovered this gem while visiting whistable. So glad that we ventured inside. We have met the amazing and talented artist Emma Gibbons. And as for Paula you couldn’t wish for a more welcoming and passionate owner. Thoroughly recommend a visit or ten 🩷 My photos do not do the art justice. Go and see for yourself.

Bar
The Twelve Taps is a traditional pub in Whitstable, offering a great atmosphere and friendly service. It's the perfect place to enjoy a pint or two after a day of exploring the British seaside. The pub has been in the same family since the 1950s, providing visitors with an authentic experience. In addition to drinks, they also serve fish and chips, making it a must-visit spot for classic seaside dining.
To be honest, the "Taps" is our go-to bar in Whitstable. Craft Beer and Gin... They don't sell vodka or larger, saying that they recently had a very good "Smoked Lager".. The cocktail menu is mainly Gin based, has you would expect, and they have an amazing range of Negroni's (Chestnut) being the Christmas/Winter special. It's a smallish bar, ideal for couples, small groups of friends or individuals reading a book, and enjoying a "crafty" pint. The things that work about the taps is the welcoming staff, a good ever changing selection of craft beers, stouts, porters & sours and an impressive Gin selection (including a few distilled by the Taps, unavailable elsewhere, but if you like them, you can actually buy a bottle to take home). If you are unsure what "beer" to have off of the 12 Taps menu, then I'd recommend a flight that gives you 3 glasses a third of a pint of 3 different beers. So you can go all out and have an IPA, a Stout, and a Sour to try.. Or has I do, go 3 dark beers 🍻 But they don't sell the well-known Irish Stout or cask beers. If unsure, speak with the staff, they are knowledgeable about beer and their stock. Just so you know, the board can be found on the wall opposite the bar, you only have to remember the number, not the full name 😉😋 If you're in Whitstable and are not really one for the big high st "pubs" but prefer a good pint in a friendly bar, then the Taps is for you. They don't sell food, just bar snacks 👍🏽

Finally made it here, i visit Whitstable regularly and always miss this little beauty. Decor is fun modern and shabby, seating is varying in chair heights and size, with tables to match which adds to the fun cobbled together feel. lots of choice for all alcoholic drinks. Decent, not huge selection of alcohol free beers but decent. Small but cosy garden, which on a sunny day i can imagine is a sun trap. Staff are warm and friendly. Will pop back soon 👍
Dan P — Google review
Outstanding tap beer selection here. The left handed Giant hazy was superb and fabulous service. Cosy pub, with warm lighting. A must visit if you’re in there area.
Harrison M — Google review
Lovely pub with an excellent selection of really good craft beers - 12 of them on tap, hence the name. Really nice offering of a tasting selection of any three one third pints if you’re struggling to choose! Their own Whitstable gin is also well worth trying - very smooth with refreshing rosemary and kelp. Nice snacks to accompany and a selection of card and board games. Nice little garden at the back as well. Good music too.
Osla J — Google review
What a find. I am the kind of guy who asks the landlady if they sell gin 🫠 Gin menu acquired and the beer tap menu containing funnily 12 options. 3rds in a flight tray are always a bonus to try a few things. The soft drinks options for our little one was not run of the mill which she enjoyed. Spent a few hours here which was wonderful in the sun trapped garden out the back. 10/10 would return without hesitation. Thank you for having an uneducated tourist.
Phil V — Google review
I had a fantastic experience at this pub. They have an impressive selection of craft beers. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfect for relaxing with friends or enjoying a solo pint. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and really knew their stuff. Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast or just getting into it, this place is well worth a visit.
Marta W — Google review
We had just finished our meal at the Star of Bengal. It was late and we just wanted a quick drink. Clearly they had gins! Nice place.
Ian F — Google review
Whilst I was sat in this pub enjoying a refreshing pint, I decided to go through the reviews and I noticed a common statement that a particular member of staff was getting quite a lot of grief for being 'unpleasant'. It's safe to say, sometimes you hear things from others that don't appear to be true. As when I went to this bar with my family she was lovely, she went as far as to bring treats for the dogs and a bowl of water. I absolutely loved sitting in this pub and I really don't think she deserves the stick given, however, I always like to think we all have our off days so perhaps those reviews are from a group on that day. Either way, enough of that, why is this a good pub? Well it's self explanatory, it has 12 taps of different cask beverages and my assumption is this changes quite regularly so there's always something new to try.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled at the far end of the harbor, Crab & Winkle is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience. This charming eatery serves up fresh local seafood sourced directly from the nearby harbor market, allowing guests to savor exquisite fish and oysters while enjoying stunning views from its outdoor terrace. Operated by the renowned Whitstable Oyster Company, diners can indulge in their freshly harvested oysters and even sample their unique oyster stout.
Now this was a surprise. To get in you have to ring a door bell, sounds like a bit of a speakeasy, a staff member let's you in your taken upstairs, temperature checked, very reassuring and then the experience beginnings. The view over the harbour is fantastic back drop, the staff are very helpful, friendly, know what they are talking about and the food is amazing for people who really like sea food this is the tops, well worth a visit, we spoke to the owner who gave a very knowledgeable account of the area which added to us "out of towners" experience. Thank you we will be back certainly worth the journey. Ps octopus was brilliant
Lex K — Google review
I could've given star plus, plus for the rating! Never dined in a fish restaurant like this before! We tried our first natural oysters! For the main, had my best brown crab. Not that often we can get octopus claws in a fish restaurant unless you go to a Greek restaurant in England. Mussels were amazing too! In addition to this, every staff member was so friendly and helpful! We were glad we found it to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
Kumudu S — Google review
The restaurant is ideally located right by the harbour. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The food itself is delicious, especially the oysters. It isn't super cheap but well worth it. Overall Crab & Winkle was definitely the highlight of our day trip to Whitstable.
Callum S — Google review
I was a little nervous when I arrived because of the reviews I read. To my surprise the service was very good. From the time they received us till the time we left. The food; prepared crab - definitely not fresh. Scallops blew my mind, lobster Thermidor was brilliant, the skate wing was fresh and beautiful. This was a good experience
Kenneth P — Google review
Great value for money, added to my list "to go back" . Seafood fresh and some audacious recipes, like black pudding and scallops. Our octopus was a bit overcooked, which compromise the 5star.
Alessandro S — Google review
We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the Crab and Winkle on a blustery and bracing Sunday afternoon. We arrived without a reservation but they were able to accommodate my party of three. After signing in our contact details in line with current COVID guidelines. We were shown to our booth by the very friendly staff. The staff were well catered for in terms of Covid PPE and the face screens they used made for good communication and eye contact. The menu was good and we decided to enjoy a lovely Gavi Di Gavi while we perused the menu. We selected the Mussels as a starter along with the Seafood platter Selection. These where delivered promptly, fresh and very tasty. Special mention for the very good Olive bread too. For our mains we all had the Bouillabaisse which was very good, plentiful and arrived hot. My only complaint would be the langoustines which were very small and not pre dressed so we found quite fiddly to get at the meat. The finger bowls provided were therefore very handy. However the whole Bouillabaisse was very good and portions of the ingredients were large and plentiful. Once again the olive bread was excellent with the soup. We also enjoyed a portion of chips and a portion of the Samphire which were very good too. We then enjoyed the Cream Brulee along and the Chocolate Box and Ice cream as our choice of desserts. Both were very good and especially the Chocolate Box which was excellent. We finally finished our meal with Coffee, an Expresso and a nice Cognac. The whole meal was very good. The staff were young but very friendly and helpful. The bill was a pleasant surprise at how reasonable it was. The ambiance of the restaurant we found enjoyable with good spacing and Covid guidelines in place. We certainly will be looking to revisit the Crab and Winkle when next we are in Whistable.

Fish & chips restaurant
Fish and chips takeaway
V C Jones is a popular fish and chip spot located in Whitstable, offering both takeaway and dine-in options. This family-owned establishment has been serving classic favorites such as cod, plaice, haddock, and battered sausage since the 1950s. However, their specialty lies in their Kentish potato chips fried in beef dripping, which are highly regarded as some of the best in southeast England.
It is a traditional fish and chip shop without frills. We were encouraged to go in to eat by a group who were leaving and we weren't disappointed! The young man who served us was friendly and efficient and the food was excellent.
Marco G — Google review
Every time I passed V C Jones there was a queue of people so I had to try. Friendly and helpful staff with a traditional fish and chips menu. Beef dripping does give it depth of flavour that you don't get so much with inland fish and chip shop.
Bertie M — Google review
Cod and chips we ordered was lovely it was a bigger enough portion to share between two people. Then we ordered a sausage and chips but the size of the sausage was awful. It’s like it’s from a children’s meal. I wouldn’t recommend for an adult’s portion. In one of the medium portions of chips we found a black hair. We’re visiting here and a few people recommend this local fish and chip shop. But I definitely wouldn’t come back in a hurry. The staff were very friendly, but they were very busy as it was a Saturday evening.

We had two cod fish and chips with salt and vinegar. Great chips and very tasty fish. There is no dine in option, but you can enjoy it at the beach which is located very close to the store. Reasonable price. Highly recommended when in Whitstable.

So delicious! Very easy system of calling them to order and pay and then picking up 10 minutes later. Superb chips and a lovely piece of rock too. Found a perfect spot to watch the oyster farmers at work too.
Anna L — Google review
fish and chips generally is either good, mediocre or bad ... except for about 1 % of the time and this is what makes that rare exception. outstanding fish that is cooked just right and what I can only describe as "proper" English chips.
Don S — Google review
Saw the reviews on google and was craving for fish and chips. The restaurant was inside the takeaway area. The employees were polite, friendly and accommodating. I ordered cod and chips which was nearly £13. Did not have just a fish option for £7.50 which the takeaway did. Fish was really fresh and tasted great, batter was tasty too. Chips were perfectly fried and wasnt too oily. Mushy peas was awesome but couldnt try the curry sauce as it was sold out. It was slightly overpriced for sit in and dine but the quality was definitely worth it.
Alex H — Google review
Being a seaside town, there are a vast array of places to buy fish and chips. A friend recommended VC Jones however, and it was an excellent recommendation. Great chips that weren't at all flabby, the batter on the fish was crispy and light, the portion of scampi wasn't skimpy! We took them round to eat in the beach and they were great!

Ice cream shop
Bears Ice Cream Imaginarium has made a delightful splash in Whitstable, bringing a taste of London’s dessert scene to the charming coastal town. This vibrant ice cream shop, which opened its doors in 2023 on Whitstable High Street, is renowned for its homemade soft-serve creations that are perfect for enjoying while strolling along the beach. During my recent visit in summer 2024, I couldn't help but notice the throngs of happy customers indulging in their colorful cones.
Without a doubt the best ice cream we’ve EVER HAD!! Flavours are UNREAL, quality is seriously high. How this place doesn’t have a rating of 5* on here is beyond me. We cycle here from Margate just for the ice cream 🍦 makes for an awesome treat at the end of a beautiful ride. The Miso banana is incred, today had the strawberry basil and lavender blueberry, both impeccable, as is the banana jam custard, tbh, don’t go anywhere else for ice cream if you can. One request, can you have the flavours more on display whilst queuing? It’s impossible to see while you wait and might help people to decide a lot sooner when they do get to the counter. Request, please can you open up in Margate?! Keep doing what you’re doing - it’s top quality and we’re here for it.

Delicious, imaginative flavour combo’s. A hit with the adults and kids alike! We had a couple of ice cream sandwiches, a sorbet and a cone. Portions were generous . This is our 3rd year of visiting and we try something different each time - it’s always tasty and keeps us coming back for more.

Bears ice cream is a paradise for the adventurous people who want to try truly unique flavors! This place takes huge creative swings, resulting in some mind-blowing scoops (like the one with rosemary) However, not every risk is a reward. I was little disappointed with beetroot and wasabi, tasted like polish ćwikła but actually I should be prepared for this after those flavours lol The good news? The sheer variety guarantees everyone will find something good. Even if the wildest creations aren't for you, their elevated classics are fantastic. Go for the adventure; you might find your new favorite flavor!

The most imaginative, unique and delicious ice cream flavours ever. A real culinary delight and a must visit. My favourite is the brown butter, rosemary and sour plum flavour - it is UNREAL! "I don't know why we have wasted our time in other ice cream shops." A quote from my wife whilst eating her raspberry ripple and pistachio brittle ice cream. The variety of flavours are unbelievable. This is definitely not your average ice cream shop but for the same price as other ice cream parlours nowadays. My son had the little bear which was as adorable as it was delicious. You can see why their soft scoop has won awards. Would highly recommend.

Lovely church in a bustling traditional high street. Great place to relax, pray and experience peacefulness. Serve refreshments in the mornings. Enjoy spending time here very much.
Michelle M — Google review
I would rate this church five stars if it had a hearing loop system The Revs name is Racheal and she is a very nice person even lets you drink tea and coffee during service. Most Sunday's they have free food to take àway like loafs of bread which comes from one of the local Tesco's.

Thirty Nine Whitstable, located on Oxford Street, is a cozy and highly praised independent restaurant and cafe. It has received accolades for its "amazing" food, "quick service," and "friendly atmosphere." The establishment offers gluten-free options and serves brunch, lunch, and dinner. Guests have commended the warm welcome from the owners and the attentive service. The menu features delightful small plates with adaptations available for those with dietary restrictions.
Some of the best food we’ve ever eaten! We are devastated to have been just visiting the area, and would highly consider coming back just for this place! There were several gluten free/vegan options, and Lauren went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten allergy. Prices were fair, cocktails were amazing, and we had wonderful and prompt service from Roy. This level of hospitality cannot be beat, I would recommend to anyone.

A lovely vibe in this coffee lounge, attentive staff and great portions. Food was lovely and I love the chilled atmosphere and music!

This is a creative, welcoming restaurant with a talented chef. I visited Whitstable with two good friends and visiting 39 (or Lauren's as I prefer to call it) was one of our highlights. Whitstable is already a place worth celebrating for its pretty scenery, clear blue sea and independent shops, and this place was a hidden gem - though not so hidden as we found it through good Google reviews! We were very kindly welcomed by Fairlie and Roy and enjoyed the cocktails, with Head Chef Lauren's Lemon Drop being the winner! The food was a delicious fusion of flavours! We found that five of the small plates shared by three of us was filling enough that we didn't ask for a desert. I would recommend giving 39/Lauren's a try for its food, creative gallery feel and friendly ambience and if Roy is there he will happily tell you about the local area so do ask him!

Came across this place on walk back to our Airbnb. It was completely empty and we debated going in but we weren't disappointed. The staff were lovely and we had a nice meal of gyozas , short rib croquettes, crispy cauliflower bites ,squid and Asian slaw. Reasonably priced drinks. I would definitely eat there again !

What was a short break in Whitstable with friends, I came across Thirty Nine via a Google search for dinner and cocktails, and it is the perfect place for both. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and welcoming with some quirky details, such as the wonderful canvas art by local artists. A family-run business, it is clear to see that owner, Lauren is passionate about food, which was delicious. We chose a selection of small plates to share, of which there is a great choice of meat and vegetarian options. Our waitress, Fairlie was super friendly and made us feel so welcome along with her fellow server, Roy, a chatty mature gentleman (and Lauren's dad!) who was wonderful to talk to about the surrounding areas as if you were in a country pub catching up over Kent life. We stayed for over three hours here and never felt rushed, which is testament to how welcoming the team were. Top marks for their customer service - they put so much effort into ensuring we were happy and having a good time. For anyone staying in or visiting Whitstable, I would highly recommend Thirty Nine for the food, atmosphere and friendly staff. We had a lovely time here, so thank you!

What an amazing hidden gem in Whitstable! I was warmly welcomed by the owners of this delightful family, independent business😌Lauren & Tamsin went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable from where I sat, to the music and the temperature. I felt very looked after, like I was visiting friends🤗I opted for a selection of small plates. Each and every one was delightful! Being gluten & dairy free, Lauren went out of her way to adapt the dishes to my exact liking. They were all delicious with an authentic, south East Asian twist. From the Vietnamese prawn rolls, to the best chicken goujons I’ve ever had! The squid was👌🏽 I highly recommend this restaurant for locals and tourists alike! Thank you Lauren & Tamsin for your friendly conversation, care and excellent customer experience. I really enjoyed my dinner with you. I hope your business goes from strength to strength✨

What a lovely last minute find on our break in Whitstable. Beautiful breakfast- the £7 breakfast deal was fabulous value. And a shout out to Liam who was super friendly and attentive - great customer service!! Highly recommended 👌

We've been for food in the past always delicious, popped in after work but the oil in the fryers where being changed and a 20-30 min wait before even ordering . So we though we'd have some cocktails states on the menu happy hour 5-7 two for £12 however was told wasn't the case. Cocktails lovely staff great - just update menus and I think manager should have honoured it. But didn't.

I bought some Echinops Rito and Echinacea from Donna and couldn't be happier with the plants. They looked very healthy when they arrived and its so nice to buy them from an independent conservationist rather than a big company website. Would definitely recommend and I'll be shopping there again. Looking forward to the plants bedding in and flowering for the bees!

I ordered 6 Geranium Rozanne plants and am delighted with the service and the beautiful healthy plants. They will be a welcome addition to the garden. Donna phoned me before dispatch to check delivery details as I had made an error with my postcode. It’s a pleasure to purchase from this excellent seller. Sarah H

What a wonderful place! Cannot recommend highly enough! We ordered online and had a fantastic experience, Donna was happy to answer any and all questions, and answered emails promptly and politely. We received our order in the best packaged boxes we have had when ordered plants, all individually bagged and labelled. Plants are beautiful and fantastic condition. I also love the fact that no chemicals are used on the plants and are peat free! Which means my tortoise also gets to enjoy the flowers along with the bees and butterflies. You can truly see the time and effort Donna puts into her work. 10/10 experience, will definitely be ordering again soon!
Lauren F — Google review
What an 'enchanting' nursery, so glad to see Donna in her new establishment. The plants are well labeled and informative, with a large seed bank too. Donna is very passionate about her plants with a fountain of knowledge. A lovely place to have tea and cake, it's well worth a visit and we will return.

I've order sea kales from Enchanted Gardens and received strong, healthy looking specimens. They were carefully packaged and well watered. I'm a gardener by trade and I highly recommend this nursery.
Chris — Google review
A wonderful nature sanctuary for gardeners and lovers of the outdoors. Browse the home-grown plants and shrubs, explore the gardens, buy some seeds or just enjoy a pot of tea and delicious slice of cake and a chat with Donna. A really charming place to visit.

I have recieved my purchase beautifly packaged and protected. Plants are really healthy.I will definately be ordering again.

What a wonderful find! The very knowledgeable owner could not have been more helpful. My plants are well developed and healthy and it was a pleasure to shop here. I will definitely buy from Enchanted Gardens again knowing I am supporting a genuine conservationist with a great selection of pollinator friendly perennials.

ArtShed Whitstable is a charming art gallery located in Whitstable. Visitors can expect to find a stunning collection of photographs and artwork, making it difficult to choose a favorite piece. The quality of the materials and vivid colors of the artwork are truly remarkable. Whether you're looking for a special gift or hoping to treat yourself, this gallery offers an array of beautiful pieces that capture the essence of Whitstable, including breathtaking views at sunset.
I come to whitstable each year in a caravan for a week and occasionally head down to the area the shop is in. I already had a love for taking pictures of clouds and me and my parents came into a big shop to get a drink and I noticed the shop where I went in and was amazed and inspired by all the pictures I saw. I decided to buy 2 photos and the shop owner I think her name was sue saw how eager I was and I showed her some of the pictures I have taken and we had a good conversation about it and after she gave me a picture for free. I have came back this year and am going to see any other photos I can buy If you like the look of clouds and the sky I would highly recommend to check it out

We found the Art Shed whilst on a motorbike ride down to Whitstable. It is full of the most beautiful photographs and art work-it was hard to choose a favourite picture. My husband and sons bought a beautiful picture looking across Whitstable, from The Old Neptune pub at sunset for my 50th birthday. The quality of the material and vivid colours are stunning. It's so gorgeous, I wanted to treat myself to a little collection with the birthday money I had been given. Sue is a lovely lady with such a calming, friendly and accommodating manner. There was no pressure at all and it was so interesting to learn about how she takes the photos and produces the finished pictures. Sue prints and frames the pictures and sometimes merges several shots to achieve the look she wants. I chose a view across the harbour at sunrise and one of the forts at sunset. I picked up the two pictures today. I am thrilled to bits with them. The wall needs filling where the other pictures were but our dining room looks great now. A huge thank you to Sue for our amazing art works.
