From the adrenaline-pumping rollercoasters like The Swarm and Saw - The Ride to family-friendly experiences such as Angry Birds Land, there's something for everyone. The attraction was amazing. We went for fright night and the actors where so nice. Creature campus looked after my niece for me when I went on a ride with my boys because she wasnt feeling up to it and sung happy birthday to her which made her feel so happy to be there. I really recommend coming its a great day out with the family and definitely come for fright night. The food was amazing 100% recommend food. Staff was great. Actors amazing. Survival games scare maze breathe takingly amazing although sometimes you do get split up from the group. We went on a Thursday so it wasn't as busy and the ride queues weren't really long. The actors remembered my niece all through the night and everytime we saw them they would say hello. Also Connie and rattlesnack and all the Frank's are so wonderful and nice. My niece's name is bethany.
Natalie M — Google review
After waiting in a queue for more than 2 1/2 hours, just to get into the park, to then only get on 4 rides in 7 hours was a really big disappointment, especially after paying £40 for a ticket 🎟. To fast track 1 ride per person was an extra £16 each but was still no solid guarantee to be that much quicker in the mile long queues for rides, so unfortunately, my first, and no doubt, last ever visit to Thorpe Park, was massively disappointing to say the least. Bring on the day, a paying customers satisfaction and experience are prioritised over how much money 💰 they can make, and gladly take from us, each day.
Tracey A — Google review
One of the best theme parks I've visited so far. Second best in the UK but is home to the best rollercoaster in the UK, Hyperia. It is absolutely amazing, the food is great and the views on and off of the coasters are amazing. My ranking list of the rollercoasters: 1. Hyperia 2. Swarm 3. Stealth 4. Nemesis Inferno 5. Colossus 6. Saw 7. The Walking Dead: The Ride 8. Flying fish. Honourable mentions: Tidal wave (Best water ride in the UK). Detonator. Zodiac. Samurai. Vortex. Rush. I'd definitely recommend the park to any thrill seekers and even if you aren't you should give the coasters and other rides a try.
DannyBoy — Google review
Visited on Sunday, 2 November 2025 and had a great day overall. The atmosphere and theming were brilliant. Hyperia was stunning, though both my friend and I (in our thirties) had neck pain after one ride and ended up taking paracetamol, so it might be worth reviewing comfort. One staff member at the curry outlet was unnecessarily rude when I asked her to repeat herself, which took the shine off things. The small Stranger Things shed looked amazing - I would love to see that expanded into a full attraction in the future!
James R — Google review
Amazing theme park in the middle of nature! So beautiful the location is. All the high thrill rides are brilliant!! Best to buy fast track tickets when crowded. Lot of rides and options for different age groups, thrill levels, lot of games, food options, etc. too. Must go!!
Bhuvna S — Google review
The experience at this park is always amazing and the only downside was the weather. The queues moved fast and are longest was 30 minutes. The mazes were always great and staff extremely helpful. We stayed overnight in the shark hotel with a great night sleep and great fun the next day also. Would highly recommend.
Jacob R — Google review
Thorpe Park is built for thrill seekers. Adult tickets bought in advance start at around thirty-three pounds, but if you pay on the day the price can jump to about sixty-six, so planning ahead makes a real difference. The park is always busy, especially on weekends and school holidays, and while the atmosphere is energetic and lively, the crowds also mean queues can stretch for a long time on the most popular rides!! The rides themselves are the main draw and they don’t disappoint. Hyperia, the new record-breaking coaster, is a breathtaking mix of speed and airtime, while Stealth launches you from zero to motorway speeds in under two seconds. The Swarm twists and dives with enough inversions to leave you grinning or disoriented, and Colossus still holds its charm with ten back-to-back loops, even if it’s a little rougher than newer designs. Water rides like Tidal Wave break things up nicely and are especially refreshing in summer, though almost every major attraction demands patience in the queues. Food inside the park is a mixed experience: there’s plenty of choice, from pizza and wraps to fish and chips, but prices are predictably high, with meals ranging from seven to twenty pounds and more premium sit-down options at the hotel restaurant going higher still. Quality varies but is usually decent, and bringing a few snacks or a refillable water bottle can save money. By the time you leave, tired and likely a little lighter in the wallet, the buzz of the rides and the sheer adrenaline rush usually make the day feel worth it — it’s an experience that delivers thrills in abundance, even if it comes at a price. Far too scary for me .
Martin R — Google review
Came for Fright Night 2025, themed characters, scary mazes good fun although a bit samey, evening entertainment at live stage was good however the location of the stage causes congestion as viewing area far too small. No doubt there are great roller coasters here, don’t expect to ride them all in one day during peak season due to 120+ minute queues and rides persistently breaking down - we experienced this on three different rides whilst queuing. Arrived at 09:45, it took one hour queue just to get from car park to the entrance gate due to airport style security scanners, empty pockets and bag search, seems overkill? Then 90 mins queuing for Hyperia (which broke down temporarily) - entering and one ride took us until midday. Overall, enjoyable and fun day but long queues and ride reliability is an issue. Suggest more covered seating (heated) would improve experience, wasn’t enough seating areas and food hall is far too small.

Windsor Castle, located in the royal borough of Windsor, is the oldest and largest inhabited castle globally. It has served as the family home for British monarchs for nearly a millennium and is currently an official residence of Her Majesty The Queen. The castle features spectacular art, antiques, and a chapel within its grounds.
A Breathtaking Journey Through History My visit to Windsor Castle was an absolutely unforgettable experience. It is not just a castle; it is a living monument to British history and royalty, and it truly deserves its reputation. The castle itself is magnificently grand and imposing, set against beautifully manicured lawns and pristine gardens. The contrast between the sturdy, historic stone walls and the flawless green landscaping is strikingly beautiful. Inside, the arrangement of the State Apartments is both logical and fascinating. Each room flows into the next, revealing its unique function, from grand halls for ceremonies to more intimate living quarters. They are beautifully preserved and offer a genuine sense of how the palace operated. Furthermore, the furnishings are not merely decorative; they are functional pieces of art. The vast and diverse collections are utterly precious. I was particularly captivated by the extensive array of portraits of royal members. These paintings, varying in size, are so vividly lifelike that they seem to breathe, telling the story of the monarchy across the centuries. The entire visit was an eye-opening and dazzling spectacle. It leaves one in deep awe of the British Royal Family's centuries of influence, global history, and their immense accumulation of cultural and artistic treasures. It was, without a doubt, a trip that was worth taking in every sense.
Amanda L — Google review
First time visiting and was blown away at the history and beauty of the Castle, the church and grounds. The town is charming as well. This is a must see, easy trip via overland train from London. Get the audio tour headsets as it’s included and will make the experience worthwhile.
Giuseppe — Google review
Its an english castle. Well kept. I Its slightly less for value of money. Would advice to buy tickets in advance as that will save money. If you are visiting multiple castles throughout UK, kindly buy a pass for them as that will be cheaper rather than buying tickets at every castle. No pictures allowed inside.
Ahmed M — Google review
Its a very nice castle to visit with a lot of interesting weapons and armour. The security section is a bit unorganised and chaotic but otherswise a great place to visit. The audio guide is great. Staff is nice.
Jezzaftw — Google review
What a beautiful castle. The tour is well planned and if you love the monarchy and the queen/king things you will be blown away by this gorgeous place. Just don’t forget to book tickets in advance, take the audio guide with you and enjoy a little touch to royal family’s life.

We took the day trip to Windsor Castle, Bath, and Stonehenge, and it was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Steve, was wonderful, he is incredibly knowledgeable and funny. I also want to give a big shout out to our coach driver Carlos who made sure we got to each location in a timely manner. Steve shared so many interesting facts, especially at Bath and Windsor Castle my favorite stop. It's a lot to see in one day, but Steve managed the schedule perfectly. Lunch at La cock was a nice touch and very delicious. Seeing all these iconic sites in one go was unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour!
Nick G — Google review
The castle is quite large, especially the Royal Apartments, which include many rooms. You should allow around four hours to explore everything calmly and take it all in, and that’s even without taking photos, since photography and video recording inside the apartments are unfortunately not allowed. The castle grounds are beautiful, with lovely trees and a small park. You can also see the royal guards outside, who seem to change several times a day, marching across the castle grounds. We visited on a rainy day, and although the weather wasn’t ideal, there were still quite a few visitors. I highly recommend taking the audio guide, it’s available in several languages and gives an excellent explanation of each building, room, and painting. In the guidebook, the tour starts with the Royal Apartments and then continues to St. George’s Chapel, but in reality, the chapel seems more logical to visit first, as most people turn left rather than going straight uphill to the apartments. Perhaps this is because there aren’t many clear signs outside indicating the order of the route, unlike inside the Royal Apartments, where the directions are very well organized. Because of this, the route can feel a bit confusing, or maybe it was just because we were rushing to find shelter from the heavy rain, as we didn’t have umbrellas. There are several souvenir shops on the castle grounds and a café where you can buy official chocolate, keychains, magnets, books, toys, coins, jewelry, and beautifully designed pens and pencils. From the windows of the Royal Apartments, there’s a truly stunning panoramic view of the inner garden, which, unfortunately, is closed to visitors. The bushes are perfectly trimmed, genuinely royal. We arrived at the castle around 11:00 a.m. and stayed until about 2:45 p.m. Online tickets cost £31, but since it was a Monday in November, there were no queues, so we bought ours on-site for £35 per adult. Before entering, there’s a security check at the gate. Overall, the castle is absolutely worth visiting, a perfect trip for one or one and a half days. The town itself has a great variety of restaurants, cafés, and souvenir shops. The train station is right in the centre, about a five-minute walk away. Everything is within walking distance, our hotel was just 10 minutes from the castle, which was perfect, as after dinner in town we could enjoy a short walk back. Since the castle stands right in the heart of the town, there are hotels just across the street, but even those located a bit further away are still very convenient and charming. Parking could be improved, as in most tourist towns in England. We checked several public car parks, with daily rates between £22 and £28. Our hotel had its own secure parking area behind the building, gated and monitored, for £20 per day. It might be worth checking some higher-end hotels, as a few of them may offer free parking, though such options are quite limited.
Mariia V — Google review
Fascinating visit, it's everything you expect it to be! £35 for an adult ticket which includes an audio tour. Well organised and the staff are efficient and friendly. Amazing to finally see how the royal family live in the castle and the history is incredible .

The Runnymede Air Forces Memorial, located in Surrey, is a significant historic site that pays tribute to the bravery of over 20,000 men who lost their lives in World War II with no known grave. Situated in Englefield Green, the memorial offers breathtaking views of the River Thames and surrounding countryside. The area also features other memorials such as the JFK Memorial and Magna Carta Memorial.
One of my favourite places to visit, so peaceful. A great place to reflect, so many names. Fantastic views on a clear day.
Paul B — Google review
I visited looking for my Great Uncle Eddie who's bomber blew up over Germany in 1944. As I had a panel number I found him very easy to find. Very well maintained memorial.
Gillian M — Google review
High on Cooper’s Hill, overlooking the gentle bends of the River Thames and the ancient meadows of Runnymede, stands one of Britain’s most poignant monuments: the Air Forces Memorial. From this height, the land stretches into blue distance — Windsor Castle visible on clear days, and beyond that, the faint shimmer of London’s skyline. At first sight, it’s breathtaking — a serene cloistered structure of Portland stone, framed by lawns and towering pines. But it’s when you step inside that the weight of history truly sinks in. This memorial is unique. It doesn’t hold the remains of the fallen — it holds their names. Over 20,000 men and women of the Commonwealth air forces are remembered here — those who died in World War II and who have no known grave. Their names are inscribed on the walls and pillars of the cloisters, arranged by year and rank. The names span nations — British, Canadian, Australian, New Zealander, South African, Indian — united in the same fight for freedom of the skies. There’s a haunting beauty in reading the endless lists, each line representing a life lost somewhere over the sea or in enemy territory, never recovered. Unseen by many visitors, the memorial’s architecture carries deep symbolism: the open tower that frames the sky reminds you that these were people who served in the sky, and whose final resting place is, in a sense, the sky itself.
FREDDY — Google review
Impressive place to visit. The size and the endless rows of names really leave an impression. I particularly appreciated the little items that tell the stories of some of the fallen.
Paolo T — Google review
“This place is well worth a visit. It is a moving experience to see and feel this place of remembrance, honoring those who gave so much so that we might live in a better world. Truly heartfelt.” The Runnymede Air Forces Memorial is so poignantly placed, its view stretching across the historic meadows where the Magna Carta was sealed—linking sacrifice, freedom, and remembrance in one timeless landscape. Amazing place to visit. When parking at the Carpark. The first 3 hours free, BUT YOU MUST GET A TICKET AND DISPLAY IN YOUR CAR.
Shaun E — Google review
Well worth the small detour if you are in the Windsor area. Truly outstanding memorial to the brave airmen and women of the Commonwealth who died during WW2. The views towards Central London over Heathrow from the observation deck are fantastic.
JezandClaudia D — Google review
Wonderful memorial to those who gave their lives so that we could live freely. Last time I was here was over 50 years ago.
Turkay M — Google review
A must see if you are visiting Windsor. Beautiful, serene place reminiscent of the Normandy memorial. The building is stunning, long curving arches engraved with the names of 20,000. You can climb to the top and the view across the woods to London is amazing. You can walk the entire in an hour and parking is available beside it. For walkers you can walk from here through the woods to the other memorials on the Old Windsor Rd, all well worth a visit.

Royal Holloway is a campus-based research university with over 9,000 students. It is located in the historic premises that house the Picture Gallery, showcasing one of the UK's finest Victorian art collections. The university town of Royal Holloway is known for its scenic campus set in parkland and surrounded by royal parks. The campus features modern and impressive old buildings, offering a good reputation for educational achievement.
This is a stunning Victorian building. The detail in the architecture is amazing. Parking on campus is tricky, but you can park at Englefield Green, 5 minutes walk away. The building has 2 internal quadrangles, with amazing sculptures in. The chapel is beautiful too, and if the picture gallery is open, it is still well worth the visit.

I was highly impressed with Royal Holloway University’s campus. The iconic Founder's Building is stunning, blending history with a sense of academic prestige. The campus itself is beautifully landscaped, with plenty of green spaces and modern facilities that make it a welcoming environment. The safety of the campus was also reassuring, with a secure, close-knit community feel. I found the staff and student ambassadors friendly and helpful, giving me confidence in the support and well-being services available. Overall, it seems like a vibrant and inspiring place for students to live and learn.

Royal Holloway is a beautiful and historic campus with stunning architecture, especially the iconic Founder’s Building, which feels like stepping into a castle. The grounds are spacious and well-maintained, offering plenty of green spaces to relax or study outdoors. Academically, the university offers a wide range of courses with knowledgeable and approachable professors who are genuinely invested in student success. The small class sizes encourage interaction and support. Student facilities are excellent, including modern libraries, well-equipped lecture halls, and various social spaces. The campus has a friendly and diverse community, making it easy to meet new people and get involved in clubs and societies. Location-wise, it’s a bit outside central London, but well-connected by train, making commuting manageable. Overall, Royal Holloway provides a welcoming, supportive environment for both study and social life — definitely a great choice for university.

Royal Holloway is truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The color and grandeur of the building are breathtaking—it’s just stunning every time I visit. The architecture is so impressive, and no matter how many times I’ve been, it never loses its charm. If you appreciate historic and picturesque places, Royal Holloway is a must-see!

We came along to the open day as my son is thinking of studying here. It's a lovely looking place and has a mixture of old and new buildings. Both the Lecturers and Students were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of student helpers available to answer any questions and give directions.

It seems like a great place to study as a university student surrounded by history under the shadow of this great building. I wonder if another day I could go by and take more photos since the signs indicate that I cannot go in if I am not from the university, but I have seen people who have entered and I doubt that they are from the institution.

The Windsor & Royal Borough Museum, located in the historic Windsor Guildhall, offers a family-friendly exploration of East Berkshire's rich history. Visitors can immerse themselves in interactive displays and audio trails featuring local residents' stories about Windsor's evolving landscape. The museum boasts a diverse collection, including a 100,000-year-old Mammoth tusk and a model of the Hawker Hurricane designed by Windsor-born Sir Sydney Camm.
This little museum is situated in a very beautiful building. It has a stocks outside that is a photo opportunity to those cheeky ones! The guard 💂outside had the proper attire on to the tea, he was very friendly and always seemed cheerful whilst he was dealing with other visitors. which made him very professional indeed. If you ask them nicely you might be allowed a picture with them. We did 😁! Inside the museum itself it has 2 floors. The first is very informative about other aspects of Windsor that you wouldn’t of thought of, and then upstairs in more about the royal family. There is toilets inside and there is also a stair lift attached to one side of the stairs, which I thought was quite considerate to visitors that might benefit from it. Try not to miss the portraits along the ceilings near the stair area though. Kids crafts was on at the time we visited but we didn’t go to this, we looked at the museum itself instead. There was 2 lady staff upstairs that were very polite and informative when questions were asked. Free admission, recommend going to visit!

I walked in, imagining a museum. It wasn't free. I had to come back with cash after finding an ATM. As much as I like museums, galleries and other cultural places, this one cannot qualify as a museum. It's a single room. Not much larger than a living room with some photos, posters, screens and some odd objects. After a minute, that was it. I have seen everything and there were no other rooms. I still tried to search for anything worthwhile, but apart from reading posters and staring at some old objects, there was nothing exciting at all.
Amine M — Google review
Great little museum with lots of local history in a pretty historic building, sadly we missed out on the up stairs section of the building as there was a lot of renovations going on but that can only be a good thing in the long run, the audio guide was really good and informative, it was a little humorous in places too, I'll have to go back and see what it's like when it's finished.

Lovely little museum! Spent ages here with 7year old. He did some colouring, played with castle toy, played with Duplo and jigsaw of crest, space chase fact hunt, dressed up as along, I liked headsets we were given to use, and we did tour of guildhall. Staff were so lovely and helpful! Only small museum but they've managed to utilise space and activities really well! Highly recommend!!!

A small (one room) museum. Only £2 for adults, £1 for over 12 years, free under 12 years. Really interesting exhibits on history of Windsor and the local borough. Information on local trades and family history. A good selection of WW1 photos. Audio tour and some interactive exhibits. Large selection of dress upressing up for the younger children. Staff were amazingly friendly and informative.

I visited today and I loved it , I took my dog in and i spent some time talking to the volunteers/staff who were really friendly and welcoming. It's a free of charge little exhibition and very interesting. As for the people who say "it's just a little room" 🙄. It's free entry and contains ancient artifacts, what's not to like.

A great evening watching Joe Pasquale and Brian Conley. The seats in the upper circle are very steeply banked, so beware if you're not good with heights. The seats are also small and a snug fit so not much legroom or either side of you. Great venue though and polite staff!

Amazing!!! Went to see The Lightning Thief- Percy Jackson!! Wow! All the performers were spot on! 100% recommend if you get a chance to watch. Songs were catchy, stage design was great, jokes were just right! Well done to all.
Krish J — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of seeing the Michael Jackson tribute starring Ben at the Theatre Royal Windsor, and it was amazing. From start to finish, the energy was electric and the performance thoroughly entertaining. 🎤 Ben truly captured the essence of Michael Jackson – his voice, moves, and charisma were spot on bringing every song to life. The costumes were stunning and added that extra sparkle to the whole experience. 💡 The stage lights are extremely bright, so if you're sensitive to lighting, you might want to bring sunglasses or sit a bit further back. 🪑 Seating-wise, the chairs are quite snug. If you're on the larger side, I’d recommend booking an “end” seat for a bit more comfort with leg room. That said, the view was really good. 🏰 The location couldn’t be better – right opposite Windsor Castle and surrounded by lovely restaurants, making it perfect for a pre-show dinner or post-show drinks. Parking and the train station is conveniently just around the corner, which made the whole evening stress-free. 👋 The staff could of perhaps provided a more friendly and welcoming experience to the venue. If you're a fan of MJ or just love a good night out, this tribute show is a must-see. Whilst he doesn’t look like MJ if I closed my eyes he did an amazing job at sounding like him 🎶

Amazing staff, they made us so welcome this lunchtime for the Fireman Sam show. What a lovely little theatre, well equipped to cater for little ones with booster seats and helping direct everyone to their seats. They seemed to enjoy the show just as much as the kids too! Thanks again for making it a wonderful experience

Went to watch percy jackson today and it was amazing!!! Although however there was an inconvenient delay in the second half of the performance, still had a spectacular time

This was my first time visiting this venue and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a lovely little theatre with a welcoming feel. The bar area is a good size and I really liked that there were tables and chairs available, rather than having to stand as you often do in many London theatres. Parking was easy, we used Windsor and Eton station car park which is less than a five-minute walk away, making it very convenient. Overall, a great venue and I’d be happy to return.
Brenda M — Google review
Aside from the uncomfortable seats, it’s fine. It’s a local theatre with a nice variety of shows. In our three visits, however, we’ve only stayed to the end once. The one time we stayed to the end I had to stand at the back because my legs were cramping up due to the lack of legroom. We left once due to inappropriate content and once because it was too difficult to hear some of the actors. That said, for a local theatre, it’s fine.
Paul E — Google review
Lovely theatre, unfortunately the show we saw, sherlock Holmes, lacked pace, script was obscure and characterisation lacking except for the guy who played lestrad. Really disappointed. The guy next to me fell asleep 4 times.

Nestled in the charming village of Englefield Green, The Barley Mow is a delightful pub that seamlessly blends timeless decor with a modern twist. This casual spot stands out among its namesakes scattered across Surrey, offering an inviting atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Overlooking the picturesque cricket green on Barley Mow Road, it’s an ideal location to enjoy hearty meals and friendly service.
Sanj was our server tonight. She was was fantastic as was her whole team. They have indoor and outdoor seating, a children’s menu and a wide selection of cocktails and beers on tap. Great for an adult night or family night. We hope to be back. The chicken, meat pie, and fish and chips were great.
David H — Google review
We were so excited to eat here, the menu looked divine. Each of us had an Amaretto Sour before choosing a Chilean red and Camden pale ale. The cocktail was fantastic. I’m normally dubious about cocktails in pubs but this was delicious. We shared the Guinea Fowl pastry to start, and had the steak and ale pie and Pheasant for mains. Presentation was great, unfortunately all the dishes were missing flavour. Maybe the chef was having an off day as family had raved about the food. We finished with a few Negronis, which were also excellent. We were still peckish so enjoyed a few packs of pork scratchings. It’s a lovely pub and I would definitely come back to enjoy the ambiance and drinks.
Genevieve S — Google review
We visited The Barley Mow near Windsor today, hoping to enjoy a casual bite to eat. From the outside, the pub looked charming and inviting – a classic country-style pub that caught our attention from the road. Given the positive online reviews, we expected a good experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. To start with, the staff were friendly and professional, which we appreciated. However, the quality of the food was quite average and seriously overpriced. A standard burger cost almost £17, and we had to pay an extra £1.50 just to add cheese – making it more than £18 for a very ordinary burger . The burger didn’t feel freshly cooked, more like pre-prepared, and the portion size was underwhelming for the price. The fries were chunky but overcooked and greasy, and the portion was small — served in one of those tiny metal buckets that look better than they perform. To make things worse, even a simple soft drink (a lime soda) cost nearly £3, which is excessive compared to most pubs we’ve visited across the UK, where this would usually be around £0.5–£2. The atmosphere was also quite mixed. While the pub’s exterior gives off a quaint, country vibe, inside it felt more like a random dining space without much character. The overall vibe wasn’t particularly welcoming — a mix of locals and people constantly coming in and out to smoke, which was quite unpleasant while trying to enjoy a meal, especially when smoke drifted in every time the door opened. In short, we wouldn’t recommend The Barley Mow. It may look like a charming stop from the outside, but the food, pricing, and experience don’t match the expectations or the reviews. There are plenty of better-value pubs with much better food and atmosphere nearby – this one was a letdown.

It’s my favourite place to dine out. I will celebrate any excuse, achievement or holiday just to come here and enjoy the delicious food and service. The staff are so friendly and always welcoming. The food is brilliant, the menu changes seasonally which shows the efforts they put into it along with really great ingredients at such a reasonable price. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. It’s a must!

Well done all

Our experience at the Barley Mow was excellent. We had the chicken supreme and the fillet steak and they were both amazing! Special mention to Sanj, who made this all happen. She truly was a great waitress and made sure we were very well looked after! ☺️☺️

Service was impeccable, the food was glorious, much much more than traditional pub grub, although they do have special offers - a burger and pint for £20, which had fancy toppings and looked tasty. The menu selection is just right and changes seasonally, everything we ate was cooked to perfection, kooked fabulous and was delicious. Portion sizes are good too, a real gem of a place!

Place of worship
Located on the high street, Windsor Parish Church of St John the Baptist has a rich history dating back to the 12th century. The current church was consecrated in 1822 after the previous Norman building was demolished due to extensive repair costs. Many monuments from the old church were relocated to the new one, including stone memorials dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
Free to enter, see the "last supper" painting from 1600's in the church. A quiet place for prayer and light a candle. Information boards all around to tell you what's there, but pretty much no one is around to guide you. They sell souvenirs, based on trust to pay (and CCTV cameras). In and out 15 mins tops if you happen to be walking in Windsor.

Really beautiful church located in the centre of Windsor.A large painting of a 1600 last supper looking down above the entrance inside. A little print of Dali. Very tranquil feel to the place.

The little church needs some work. It is right next to Windsor Castle. It's a cute little place to explore while in the area. There is a small cemetery on the grounds and there's a historic painting of the last supper in the chapel. The painting depicted from the biblical description. 🖼 The painting was originally hung in Windsor Castle and was moved to the church ⛪️ at the end of the 18th century. Lovely little place to explore.

Good car park for launching water crafts. Just a shame that the river footpath is on the other side with the nearest bridge 1.5 miles away. Beware of the various birds around!

Lovely time feeding the swans & other birds. Was disappointed about how much rubbish that people had left even though there are bins!
Linda P — Google review
Spent a couple of hours here this afternoon with my son who’s 3, we had a walk around then popped over the road to buy some bread before returning to feed the ducks. I have used this car park before around 6/7 years ago as a place to eat my lunch but never walked around before today. It could do with a bit of a refresh to be honest. It’s a lovely little place on the water with all the swans, ducks etc but it would benefit from a clean up and some paint. Be aware there are separate entrance and exit points to the car park from the road!

Alexandra Gardens is a picturesque riverside park completed in 1902, offering a variety of attractions and activities for visitors. It features a military bandstand, mini golf course, and a small amusement park, making it an ideal destination for families. The park's location along the Thames path provides stunning views of the river, boats, marina, and Brocas Meadows. Additionally, visitors can enjoy panoramic vistas of Windsor Castle and the Thames Valley while strolling through the gardens.
Very large park with lots of activities for all, especially children. Ideal picnic spot near the river.

We had a nice walk along the Thames river bank and then wanded into the gardens had a good ice-cream and relaxed hot day.

Nice riverside gardens with a bandstand and kiddies playground. It's next to coach park, so convenient for the tour guides meeting the buses. There's a nice café cum souvenir shop, and toilets. It links to the central train station, and shopping centre, via a lift and stairs. Walk through the gardens, or along the river towards the leisure centre and there's a large car park (cheaper than the town centre ones). Riverboat tours are next-door near the Eton and Windsor bridge.
David S — Google review
Used the car park in our motorhome for 2 days, you park in the area next to the coach park not the car park. £19 for 24 hours, the parking wardens are friendly and very helpful. Alexander park and the Thames at the side and a 5 minute walk to Windsor Castle. Only drawback is there are planes every two minutes through the day although after a couple of hours you get used to them. You can get a boat to Windsor races £9 return and only takes approximately 20 mins.
Neil P — Google review
Lovely little park, a stones throw away from picturesque Windsor castle and town centre. With the river near by, it’s a perfect place for a stroll after sightseeing and shopping.
Martin J — Google review
A lovely place stretching alongside the Thames. There are boats going past all the time. You can rent small boats, canoes or paddle boards, or even get a boat tour. Plenty of places to sit and eat close by or a short walk away. Say hi to the swans along your walk.
Matthew F — Google review
Sadly a shadow of its former self. Under Lib Dem stewardship the pursuit of a few thousand pounds of income had left residents with shockingly poor ameneties. The grass was relaid in turf after the Lib Dems allowed a fairground to take over the park during the winter. In fairness the fairground paid the council to re-turf the area it had spoiled. The Lib Dems forgot one of the most important requirements of newly laid turf and neglected to water it. It is now a complete mess with shrunken turfs failed to knit and root itself. If you like awful ameneties go to Alexandra Gardens.
John W — Google review
The park is very nice, on the banks of the river Thames. You can take a boat tour or even rent a motor boat. In the park there is also a small amusement park (payed entry) for children and even a mini golf. Next to the parc there is a relatively small car park especially for a weekend day.

National Trust - Runnymede is a picturesque riverside water meadow located by the River Thames, offering stunning scenery and open meadows for leisurely walks, cycling, or picnics. This historic site is where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215, considered the birthplace of democracy. The area features various memorials including those dedicated to John F. Kennedy and the Commonwealth Air Forces, as well as an art installation by Hew Locke called "The Jurors.
An unusual, but interesting, collection of art works and memorials set into wild flower meadow and woodland but plenty of interpretation to put it into context. Engaging children's activities at Bank Holidays. Importantly a (small) NT tearoom and toilet

Runnymede near Windsor and by the side of the River Thames was the site where King John signed the Magna Carta.this is an outside location cation with information boards but you can also scan a QR code and listen to various recordings along the way. There are art work installations and also a memorial to President J.F. Kennedy. Entry is free for all and parking is free for National Trust members, just scan your membership card for a ticket. There is a National Trust tea room near the car park. Most of the area is suitable for wheelchair users but not the JFK memorial. You can also enjoy walks along the Thames path and there are boat trips that run just next to the car park, these are chargeable. There are toilets on site. Beware of the road that runs past, it's busy and quite fast moving.
W H — Google review
This is where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215, and currently contains a few modern memorials, walking paths, and a cafe. It has some good information, but feel a little more history around the text of the document, how it came to be and what happened afterword would've been useful. There were a couple of signs, but given its significance could've gone a little deeper. Facilities: The site is dog friendly, including the cafe. Toilets at the cafe are adequate. Cost: Free to enter, though there is a cost for parking if not a National Trust member.

If you don’t know much about cars STAY FAR FROM THIS GARAGE!! A friends daughter unfortunately went to this garage as her car was overheating and was the closest one. As shown in reciept they changed her for a coolant housing and thermostat. As a mechanic I know these items would not have been more than £60 and a maximum of a hour to fit. Yet this poor girl left with a bill of £408.00. but that is not the worst of it. THE CAR IS STILL OVERHEARING AFTER CHARGING THE CUSTOMER AND RETURNING THE CAR A FEW DAYS LATER. This is when she got in contact and I’m utterly appalled. I called the garage myself and was greeted with attitude. I told them the car is overheating still after £408 spent, they said “bring the car in a few days” and they will do a head gasket test. I then said “you have charged her £408 why couldn’t you have done a 5 minute head gasket test already” he then replied “are you a mechanic” I said “yes” he said “how do you do a head gasket test then” I told him how and he didn’t say much after that. The customer could have gone for a free head gasket test but to fix the issue I believe Magna Carta garage would have charged her above the odds IF they could have diagnosed the overheating issue the second time round. So I came out to have a look at the car. Within 10 minutes I have removed the air box and taken pictures 2,3&4 clearly showing coolant running down from the water pump, clearly showing the water pump is the issue. I then recovered the car 6 miles to my garage, replaced the water pump, did the head gasket test and returned the car to the customer with an overall bill of £250 including recovery and it’s been over a week and the car is running sweet. ( also to people that don’t know changing a water pump is a more involved job than a coolant housing and thermostat, which I will never know if they were actually broken in the first place. To conclude I’m not happy with the price, customer service or quality of work 0/10!!!

avoid at all cost, they find fault so they can charge. Not a good place to go. Especially they make you to pay his worker by just changing a bulb, then say i won't charge you but give a tena for the guy for biscuits and tea haha

My van was low on Oil and had an engine management light on, I rang the garage asking if i could get it looked at promptly, they told me to pop in, 30 mins later i was sorted and on my way, they topped up my oil and Chris diagnosed my engine management light as nothing to worry about and he reset it, ive been driving the van for the past 3 days and thankfully the light hasn't come back on, the garage charged me a very fair price for both jobs, I recommend this garage & i will definitely going back to them if I have any issues in future. Thank you lads, God bless

Frogmore House and Gardens, a 17th-century royal residence nestled within Windsor Home Park, is a must-visit for history and nature enthusiasts, as well as royal watchers. The estate offers seasonal guided tours of its elegant interiors showcasing art and royal memorabilia. Visitors can also explore the beautifully landscaped gardens featuring various plants, flowers, and tranquil spots.
We had an organised group trip to Frogmore House and gardens. Arrival into the grounds was fast, met by our guides at the house We were a group of about 30, so split into three groups. All visits are accompanied by guides. During the tour of the house and gardens we never encountered another group, well OK, a glancing pass in the night with another group from our contingent. The gardens were interesting, plenty of trees and shrubs. New and ancient trees, the grass of course brown from the recent drought. A Heron appeared by the pond, a well known feature. The ponds and mausoleums made good photo opportunities, as did the Heron. I was looking for reflections in the water. Inside the house, it was history, the East side was sombre, dark and damp, the West side facing the pond was warm, bright and warm. The gifts and memorabilia from the past were impressive. Guides were friendly and experts in their areas. Depending on the guide, you had either a personal view of Royal life, or a more formal art/history view. One member of the group left their camera behind, and the coach was stopped at the exit gate, the camera duly reunited with the owner before we left. Photography allowed in the gardens, NOT in the house. There is a shop selling guides, post cards and ice cream.

Visited here on the Charity Open Day in August . Entrance for individual tourist is at the Park St., which is close to the train station. It’s a beautiful place for a summer chill out. Highly recommended bringing your picnics and stay there for a whole afternoon. Ticket for the Frogmore House sold separately.

We came here on the day the National Garden Scheme (NGS) hosted a day at Frogmore Gardens when all the ticket income goes to charity. Ordinarily visits can only be arranged in advance for groups of 15 or more. Our ticket said House and Garden, but the House was not included and a separate ticket had to be purchased. The gardens are well worth a visit with the remarkable Frogmore Memorial where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are buried.

Very lucky to be able to visit. We were only allowed in the house and gardens and not in the Victoria and Albert mausoleum, which was being repaired. We were also not allowed near the graves of the many members of the royal family, including the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, who are buried there. I understand it's only open to the public several times a year.

The elegant building was partly constructed by Sir Christopher Wren and features a covered area beneath supported by stone columns.
Lovely visit for the Mayors Armed Forces Charity Dinner. Beautiful surroundings and looked after so well by the excellent staff on Duty.

As a wedding photographer, I can confidently say Windsor Guildhall is in the perfect location for unforgettable photos. Just a short walk away, you’ll find amazing backdrops like Windsor Castle and the iconic Changing of the Guard. I know all the best local spots for capturing those picture-perfect moments, and this venue ties everything together perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly memorable and elegant celebration – LHT Photography, Lauren.

St John the Baptist Church in Egham is a stunning example of Norman architecture, with a history dating back to the 12th century. The church features beautiful frescoes and a bell tower, making it an ideal place to admire architectural and artistic beauty. In addition to religious events and concerts, the church offers modern facilities including an accessible lift, baby change station, and ample space for buggies.
My visit was enabled by the parish administration. I attended to see the Hans Feibusch mural. The parish is close to Runnymede site of the magna carta. The mural is the adoration by the magi. The depiction of Mary's face is of immense beauty. And the child Jesus looks happy.

Lovely church with an accessible lift in the centre. There are family services and quieter services, and those in attendance are welcoming and friendly.

We have worshipped here for just over a year, my wife, daughter and I have been made to feel most welcome. Great kids and your ministry! I particularly love the football on a Friday night 😉 Feel very much part of the St John’s family, and if you want to try church I believe this church is a great church to try!

Truly a home of God.What a wonderful welcome. This church is special, as are the amazing men and women who work tirelessly to make it so. Truly serves all the community. Children are welcomed and encouraged to enjoy the church. The people of Egham are very fortunate to have such a church and such dedicated clergy/lay helpers in its midst.

Very welcoming church with friendly members. Nice old church with new centre recently built on side. Good mixture of ages in congregation. Do lots of good things in community and have mid week groups to get to know other people better.
Barny C — Google review
What an amazing building; I went there for a breastfeeding clinic and was really surprised at how nice it was - it's pretty new, so not that surprising I guess. We had the baby buggy but there was a small lift to get us up to the floor we needed and there was a baby change station just outside the room and a toilet as well as room to park a number of buggy's. I didn't see the whole church or facilities but what I saw was modern, airy and nice.

A gracious church, beautifully kept, with friendly, welcoming people. My visit felt a family reunion, with like relatives coming together from near and far. If I lived nearby, this would be my church home.

Egham, a town in Surrey, England, is known for its popular attractions including the Runnymede National Trust and Royal Holloway. One of its notable landmarks is the Magna Carta Monument located in a riverside landscape where the historic document was signed in 1215. The monument was designed by Sir Edward Maufe and erected by the American Bar Association to commemorate King John's sealing of the Magna Carta.
This is very nice picnic place and also beautiful meadow with the art installations. This place is bliss on a sunny day. The best part is, car park right next to this place.

Visiting Runnymede is a powerful and peaceful experience for anyone interested in the roots of liberty and the rule of law. This is the very spot where King John sealed the Magna Carta in 1215, and today it’s a beautifully maintained and thoughtfully curated site. The Magna Carta Memorial, erected by the American Bar Association, is an elegant domed structure that pays tribute to the enduring legacy of the charter. It’s simple yet moving, and highlights how far-reaching the document’s impact has been – especially in shaping modern democratic principles. One of the highlights is The Jurors, a striking modern art installation by Hew Locke, which features 12 bronze chairs representing themes of justice and human rights. It encourages quiet reflection and conversation – a fitting tribute to the ideals the Magna Carta embodies. There’s also a touching John F. Kennedy Memorial, set apart in a peaceful wooded glade. The journey up to it, via a winding path and symbolic steps, adds to its contemplative atmosphere. The landscape itself – Runnymede Meadows by the River Thames – is tranquil and inspiring. With open fields, commemorative trees, and well-marked walking trails, it’s ideal for an unhurried visit. The National Trust has done an excellent job maintaining the site and providing information without overwhelming the natural setting. This isn’t a flashy attraction, but that’s precisely the point. Runnymede invites you to slow down and reflect on the origins of rights and freedoms many of us take for granted. A must-visit for history lovers, law students, and anyone who appreciates the quiet power of place.

Achieve Lifestyle, Egham Orbit is a sports facility that offers various amenities including football pitches, a multi-use hall, spinning studio, gym and kids' soft play. It provides well-maintained and fully equipped facilities such as the gym which is clean and organized. The swimming pool and changing rooms are also highly regarded. The staff at the leisure centre are friendly and welcoming. With a variety of classes available, the gym remains quiet and has all necessary equipment.
Great Gym, I just moved from the gym in their facilties where poor. Having joined Acheive Lifestyle Egham Orbit. Their facilites are much cleaner and also i was quite surpised that their personal trainer (Indy) approached me and others asking if we require support or help with anything. It was great to have the personal trainer go thru a personal training plan to help. me with my upper back issues and advised what i can do to strenghten that area. their steam room area is absolutely amazing great after a work out.All of their machine are great working order.

I have been a member for more than a year and while everybody is very friendly and the gym is great, the spa always has issues. The reason why I got a membership was to go to sauna, yet it keeps being broken or unavailable. Please either offer a reduction on the membership (it's more than 80£), make gym only membership available or offer some other form of compensation. If not, I am afraid people, including me, will have to look somewhere else.
Gurwann — Google review
Looking back on previous reviews I am highlighting the same issues that are recurring in this centre. The spa facilities are frequently out of use due to maintenance issues. However the centre does not offer a reduction on either membership or day passes which seems pretty unfair. I paid the extra 40 odd pounds to use the spa facility but the steam room has never worked and the sauna has been closed a number of times. Definitely not worth it for what's available which is a pity as its a lovely area which is well equipped. The swimming pool is clean and spacious and well supervised. Unfortunately the classes are practically impossible to get on at certain times of year as they are always booked up. I would suggest a limitation on the number of classes that a member can book per week as its unfair if you are trying to do even a weekly class which is popular like yoga and you cant get a free slot. However despite these points, I still give this gym 4 stars for the following. The gym is well equipped, spacious and open to all abilities and ages which is great. It is the most inclusive gym Ive ever attended, anyone : young old, less able, never been to a gym, you will all feel welcome here. The staff make a noticeable effort to encourage and promote this ethos. On a somewhat petty note, the gym could do with more plates for the racks as it can be hard to get hold of plates when all four racks are being used by lifters. Also some more free weights over 15kg. But , in saying that, there is a really good range of types of weights including free weights, kettle bells, sandbags, balls . The trainers on the whole appear pretty good, the classes are well run and coached, I can't judge the pt sessions but Ive seen them in the gym and they appear attentive to their clients and professional, apart from a small few who seem to just enjoy swishing their hair around, or looking in the mirror at their non existent biceps . But this is fairly normal in most gyms as far as I can see (I've been in over a hundred gyms ) .The trainers who actually train are attentive, interested and motivated. Overall I would recommend and with a few improvements would be an excellent facility.
Lisa T — Google review
Really nice gym. Staff are helpful and friendly. Great range of classes on offer. Gym is clean with a wide range of equipment to suit most disciplines including squat racks, sled push, cable machines, treadmills, bikes and rowing machines. The range of free weights is bit limited so when its busy it can be difficult to get the weights between 10 and 25kg which many people use. Kettle bells are also available. But its a minor point in an otherwise well equipped gym. Nice range of people from young to old, and levels of experience, so everyone should feel welcome here, even first timers. As a self confessed gym rat, its very nice to train in a gym without the selfie crew, most people are there to train and not to pose. The only negative I have is having to book to use the sauna which I feel shouldn't be necessary when youre paying £100 membership for the privilege of using it. I opted for the cheaper membership without the spa as I don't think its good value for money. Also should offer gym only membership all day rather than having to pay for gym and swim which I will never use.
Mary R — Google review
Recently joined here about 3 months ago. The selection of classes are good but there are no offerings in the afternoon at all. Also for some reason they insist you check in for each class individually or risk fines. This just feels awkward as if you have multiple classes in a row, or you gym or swim first, you need to walk out and scan back in. Decent amount and variety of machines in the gym. Membership includes an app that can be used to track and design workouts on those machines. The spa part is pretty limited, not sure why anyone would pay for a session in there. Also during my membership so far both the sauna and steam rooms have broken multiple times. They also don’t have a great access system. They don’t give members cards so you have to check in and grab a wristband every time you want to sauna, or even if you just want to walk from the gym changing to the pool area. Yet sometimes they don’t have any wristbands. The pool is fine. Has some clever technology to adjust the floor so the depth changes. Honestly not sure why that’s needed though and even in my short membership the pool has been closed a few times for faults. Overall it has what you need in a gym but some niggling issues that just get quite annoying.

Very good experience so far. Friendly reception staff. A chance meeting with Parie Patel on my first visit gave me invaluable help and advice to get active again. Only just retired and rehabilitating after illness, so very pleased to have a reason to get up and out in the morning. Feeling much better for it.

I am still enjoying using my membership for the Aqua classes but I would so love to see a member package built just for water activities. In particular, for ladies and men like myself who do not use any other class or activity available on the £38 package. I am unable to use anything other than water based classes or activities due to my mobility and I know there are others just like me .

I was referred under the GP referral scheme, and the staff at Egham Orbit have been welcoming, informative and supportive. I would like to particularly recommend anyone out there looking for a Personal Trainer, Mohammed Alsanawi (Mo) at Egham Orbit, just contact him via Egham Orbit. Mo has made me grow in confidence and reach a goal I did not think was possible in a relatively short space of time. Mo never gave up on me, never made me feel a failure and was always happy to talk things through; better food choices, lifestyle choices, etc. I may have finished my referral, but I have continued my membership. Egham Orbit has become my place where I want to spend downtime.
