Nature & Parks
Central Park Simion Bărnuțiu, established in the 19th century, is a picturesque and popular park for running and relaxation. The park's tree-lined avenues and romantic benches make it a favored spot for special meetings and leisurely strolls. Renovated with paved roads, a fountain, pavilion, casino building, and restaurant by the lake, the park offers ample opportunities to unwind and enjoy nature.
I loved the parc. It is so beautiful. You can relax by the water or on a bench. I visited it on Saturday and there were several weddings, so i also saw many beautiful brides.
Kristina — Google review
Beautiful park, been here many times already and it’s fantastic. Very tidy, very green, and full of life. Plenty of trees no trash, its really perfect. There are also plenty of statues which is great to see, it’s important to take care of a nation’s culture like so!
Márton M — Google review
A perfect place to walk around. There was a pot for people and kids to have some evening time pass. In this small city, you can go there and enjoy. The design of park is similar to the on in budapest 🤣
Muhammad R — Google review
it is a nice park to walk around, the lake area is very beautiful. you also have parking near the park, but it gets crowded when there are weddings
Cristina D — Google review
Cluj's Central Park is a very beautiful urban garden. Nothing grand or earth-shattering, but green, relaxed, and suitable for young and old, with a mixed crowd. It's a great place to recharge your batteries for the hectic city with its few trees. The only drawback: the statues of famous Romanians in the park depict only men.
Ingo A — Google review
The park is very big and clean. Nicely arranged flowers, many benches to rest, and a great cafe in the middle. It's not only for the family but for everyone who wants to get connected to the trees and relax in the nature.
Di R — Google review
A very beautiful park in Cluj, good for walking, jogging or just take a pause. The lake in the middle adds charm, also the old Casino building.
Burghelea O — Google review
It's a wonderful park. I wish there were little kiosks selling things like water, coffee, and sandwiches inside the park. I'm going with my grandson. But I can't buy him anything. I wish it were a more fun place.

Cetățuia Park, situated atop Cetățuia Hill in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, offers stunning panoramic views of the city and its iconic landmarks. The park is a popular spot for locals and tourists to enjoy the serene green space, with benches and a playground available. The historic Cluj-Napoca Fortress, dating back to the 18th century, adds a touch of historical charm to the picturesque landscape.
The parc is very high above the city. The visit is connected with climbing many stairs. But it is worth it. You have a very nice view over the city. And you have several angles for climbing it, so you can choose different ones for up and down or the easiest one. Would recommend.
Kristina — Google review
Great location of the park, wonderful view over the city center But the issue here that it's a pretty neglected. For example, many paths are ruined. It's sad to see and I hope it will be renovated soon
Andrii — Google review
Nice park to get a city view.it is better to go during evening time.. Lots of stair to climb..If you follow the Google map is the wrong destination to see the city view. After you have come out from the small little tunnel you can immediately turn left and you will see the cross. If not before you reach the small tunnel there is a turn (small shop which I think is no longer in operation) which directly bring you to the lookout..
Алициа — Google review
Absolutely lovely, great views!!! A must if you are in the city centre. ❤️
Timea B — Google review
Nice view from the park, however they should take care a bit more about this public area. Gardening, put some flowers. Seemed a bit abandoned.
Bruno A — Google review
Amazing views from up the hill. Be careful to take the concrete stairs if you are not resistent or if you want a more "civilised" outcome, the back stairs that are right near the bridge over the Someș canal are kind of a hike, not gonna lie, especially during the hot summer and when it's slippery and muddy in winter. Otherwise, enjoy!
Monica R — Google review
Beautiful view from the top, approximately a 10 minute walk. Pretty in the summer and in the winter! Must check it out if someone is visiting the city!

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Hoia Forest, located in Cluj Napoca, is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as biking and hiking. The forest features green spaces and hosts various events including mountain bike trails and concerts. It is known for its diverse flora including hornbeam, corn, hazelnut, wild apple, acacia, and oak trees. Additionally, the forest has gained worldwide fame for alleged paranormal phenomena although these claims lack scientific evidence.
This forest has multitudes of trails. It goes pretty high up so that you have fantastic views of the surrounding area. You can access it from 360°. I recommend it if you want some quiet time up in the forest.
Scott V — Google review
Me, Dracula,Murray,Frank and Griffin chill out here. Don't let Wayne or Wanda know I spilled the beans but the Transylvania hotel for monsters is hidden here and we welcome humans to come and visit us, join the spinning class, try scream cheese and meet the oddly weird human johnny
Remus C — Google review
Searched for the curvy trees, but now we realized those photoes you see on google pictures was not taken around here. Otherwise it is a very chilling and nice place to enjoy nature a littlebit.
Katrinecz J — Google review
A visit to Hoia Forest last autumn left a strong impression on me. Known for its eerie legends and mysterious reputation, it’s become a favorite for hikers, photographers, and paranormal enthusiasts. The dense woods and twisted trees give the forest its haunting beauty. I found it both peaceful and a bit surreal walking through the trails, with unexpected clearings and patches of light. Families with children were enjoying picnics, while others were out jogging or biking, so it felt safe despite the spooky stories. The forest’s natural beauty is undeniable, and I appreciated how accessible it is from the city. For anyone looking to escape urban life and explore nature with a twist of mystery, Hoia Forest offers a unique experience. Just be prepared for uneven paths and bring good shoes!
Raul — Google review
At just over one square mile this relatively small forest is now notorious for it's haunted reputation and alleged UFO activity. Many trails penetrate it's gloomy undergrowth overshadowed by trees, some of which spiral unnaturally towards a sky heavily laden with an atmosphere of deathly quietness and uneasy stillness. Those of a certain ethereal sensitivity will become unpleasantly conscious of ghostly phenomena within the shadows which surround the forests mysterious circular "dead zone". From dusk and into the hours of darkness a new and surreal elevation of the senses may grip those who choose to venture into these dubiously inviting woods!
Henry R — Google review
It was always a very welcome doze of energy to walk on paths of Hoia-Baciu forest. Wether we talk about a simple walk or a bycicle ride or just a picnic, this amazing and unique forest proved to be a great host. But there are bad parts and, as usual, it only involves humans as negative characters: those who by riding ATVs disturb the silence and kill the insects. Also, you see trash, spreaded all over; shameful for those and for the authorithies who don't share fees. It's fun, it's chill, cathartic for many, disturbing for nature because of others. Apart from that, if you're brave enaugh to enter this haunted forest, be prepared to find no ghosts, but mythical impressive trees, many that grow in zig-zag patterns or in spirals, happening in a counter clockwise dirrection. "The forest is only haunted if you bring your own ghosts."
Alin B — Google review
A usual, nice and quiet forest. No bent trees, no paranormal activity. Google maps shows erroneous information sometimes, but that's because of bad network coverage, so no aliens or portals. No strange things in photos, just an ordinary forest close to a beautiful and crowded city. Worth visiting, maybe you find something special :)
Andrei M — Google review
A must see when visiting Cluj-Napoco. This forest is one of the most haunted on the planet. Also known for UFO sightings. The trees grow in clockwise spiral shapes that are unexplained and the forest contains a circle where no trees will grow..also unexplained. We booked a private tour through the Hoia Baciu Project. If you book from their website directly the company receives the entire payment as opposed to booking through trip advisor who assumes much of the money. Alex was our guide and he provided us with an amazing one of a kind experience.

Statia P-ta Avram Iancu is a bustling transportation hub in Cluj, offering efficient bus and trolleybus services. While waiting for your ride, take in the interesting view of the cathedral and the statue of Avram Iancu. Nearby pedestrian crossings make it easy to explore the surrounding area, including leisurely walks in Avram Iancu and Mihai Viteazu squares.
Ordinary bus station, but nothing to complain 👌

Turnul Croitorilor is a fascinating historical site in Cluj, featuring striking ruins of a 15th-century fortification wall and tower. Managed by powerful artisans, the Tailors' Tower is particularly renowned for its beauty. Visitors can explore changing exhibitions and learn about the building's history for free. The modern interior maintains an old-world charm with preserved brick walls. Additionally, the tower hosts various activities and art exhibitions that showcase local artists.
A gem of a fascinating mini-museum set in a beautiful tower, housing various historical/anothropological exhibits - and all free entry! The staff on site were extremely informative and helped us understand a bit of the background of the building itself and the exhibits (in perfect English). Worth noting that the stairscases to the higher floors are a bit scary if you don't like heights.
Daniel C — Google review
Not very big, yet rather interesting. Has changing expositions, good historical information about the building itself, and (when I was there) free of charge. All floors can be visited, including top floors, from where you can see the city from a more elevated position.
S.R.F. F — Google review
Free admission, amazing. Lots of history about the place and old pieces of Cluj. Some interesting art pieces. Short visit. Worth it!
Hypo — Google review
It is a really nice experience. Here are often organized activited and art exposition which you can also attend for free. You can learn about Cluj history and about local artists.
Cristina M — Google review
I didn't go inside, so i can't comment on that. However the surrounding area is clean and well maintained. There is also a statue just around the back of the Tower (photo attached).
Nick A — Google review
A fortification tower that is very well preserved until this day. It has a rich history since the medieval times and is amust see for those that hunt historical monuments.
Lucian M — Google review
Sadly, you won't learn anything about Cluj's medieval times, for they turned the tower into some kind of modern art museum. There was also an exibition about some Romanian guy who went to Antarctica once. I expected more history, given that it is the only tower that's left.
Jakub O — Google review
Nicely restored photogenic tower and wall segment in a nice setting. Enjoyed our quick visit.

Iulius Park is a serene and picturesque garden located near Iulius Mall. The park features a tranquil lakeside area with pedal boats, surrounded by sage trees that create a romantic and mystical ambiance. Visitors can enjoy summer concerts, movies, and cycling on the trail. At night, the lake transforms into a breathtaking sight as the city lights reflect on its dark waters. The park offers an ideal setting for leisurely strolls or relaxing picnics amidst natural beauty and tranquility.
Great place to go for a bike ride, walk your dog, walk yourself. There are many events that take place here, from movie viewing to food festivals. The lake is usually kept clean, but there are times when leaves and other things gather on the surface. You can see ducks, swans, frogs and other animals here.

Incredibly cozy lake-side park and trail with close proximity to the mall and cozy surrounding areas. Lots of beautiful willow trees, places to sit, flowers, cats, etc.

A classic Cluj park, nice for walks or for riding the bikes on the lake. However, not much to do there other than admiring the scenery or having a nice picnic. They do, however, host several events here quite often that you might be interested in (street food festival, cinema nights, yoga events, etc.)
Claudiu A — Google review

İsmail H — Google review
In this green area and lake, you'll see at its best the difference between the private and local/town hall administration. Next to mall is the modernized area, the rest is poorly managed and not so clean, as some might like. Usually it is crowded. Good for walking, running or resting on the grass.
