The restaurant is beautiful and the food is very tasty. We took the Transylvania plate, Roata hot plate and 2 beef soup. For dessert- Papanash. For 6 people it was more than enough 😊 We also got the special liquor of the restaurant to try and it was great. We didn’t need to reserve a table in advance. One thing for improvement- it took too long until the food arrived (still think that the service itself was good).

The food was good enough that we ate dinner each of the only two nights we were in town. The cabbage rolls were divine, cooked perfectly and served piping hot with lots of flavor. The platter of mixed meats, cheeses, pickled vegetables and sauce was over the top delicious and was easily enough food for at least 4 persons. The bread bowl with beans was outstanding with a heartiness belying it's humble ingredients (also a vegetarian delight). During our second visit, the house made sausages were excellent with golden potatoes seasoned perfectly. There are enough menu selections for most tastes including several vegetarian options. The house wine is price fairly and is excellent at the price point. The staff is kind, courteous and attentive without being overbearing. Reservations highly recommended (staff speaks english).

Long waits during peak time but it’s a beautiful location with tasty food, especially given a non Romanian palate. Enjoyed the sarmale and mici both here. They gave us complimentary raki as an aperitif which was nice as well.

Got a sharing platter for 2… so much delicious food! Beer was tasty, staff were lovely and atmosphere was perfect. We came without a reservation on a Sunday at around 8pm. It was full but we waited 20 minutes and managed to get a table. Was worth the wait for a lovely local food experience !

Delicious vegetarian food for non-vegetarian people We went for a late Sunday afternoon lunch (around 3–4 PM) and had a great time. It was our first visit, so we decided to go for a full meal, starting with dumplings as an appetizer, followed by our main courses and dessert. I had the Japanese curry, while my partner chose the eggplant parmigiana. My curry was decent but lacked depth in flavor—it could have used more seasoning, and the rice was missing salt. However, my partner’s dish was absolutely delicious (I can personally vouch for that!). For dessert, I had the brownie with salted caramel sauce, and my partner tried their signature cake. The brownie was different from what I expected—thick, with a nice texture and a strong dark chocolate flavor. Since I prefer less sweet desserts, it was a great choice for me. The overall atmosphere was lovely, with artistic decor that added to the experience. I’d rate our visit 4.3 out of 5 and would definitely recommend it!

Late lunch. There are many vegan options on the menu. We found it because of Happy Cow. We shared a mushroom Japanese-style curry with a variety of local mushrooms. And a classic Romanian dish of Cluj style cabbage - a sort of cabbage lasagna, without the pasta. Both delicious. Very friendly staff and absolutely gorgeous interior

🌿 A truly refreshing and elegant experience at Silverfare! I tried the Raw-Vegan Cold Carrot Soup with Ginger and the Raw Avocado specialty, and both dishes exceeded expectations. The carrot soup was silky and perfectly balanced — the ginger added a gentle warmth, while the coconut cream gave it a smooth, creamy texture. The croutons complemented it beautifully. The Raw Avocado plate was an explosion of textures and colors — creamy avocado, crunchy pine buds, and the sweetness of goji berries and pomegranate. Every bite felt light yet rich in flavor and freshness. I waited a loong long time to come to Samsara from Bucharest and it did not dissapoint. Firstly, the food is very good, makes you feel like you are not missing something from the plate, unlike most of vegan/vegetarian dishes. I had the lasagna which is very good, especially the tomato sauce. My partener had quatro formaggi gnocchi which where good but the cheese was not as intense as we expected, but still good. We also had the dumplings and they are delicious. The interior design is so beautiful and the terrace has a very nice vibe, very relaxing. The lemonades are great also :) Can’t wait to come again

I recently had dinner at Samsara, a popular vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Cluj. The setting is lovely — calm, beautifully designed, and the food itself was very good, well-prepared, and flavorful. The digital menu via QR code is a great feature: it’s available in English and includes clear allergen labels, which helps guests identify suitable dishes. However, as someone with celiac disease, my experience was unfortunately disappointing from a safety standpoint. Not because of the food quality — but because of how the staff handled my allergy. Upon seeing that the menu included many gluten-containing dishes, I explicitly asked the waiter to inform the kitchen about my celiac condition, and to take precautions to avoid cross-contamination. His response was simply: “Just read the menu — everything is marked there. In the kitchen, they prepare everything the same way.” I insisted again, trying to explain that I wasn’t just avoiding gluten as a preference — I was asking him to notify the kitchen so they could be more cautious. Despite this, he refused to pass on the message, which made me feel unprotected and exposed to unnecessary risk.

A must visit place if you are in Cluj. They serve one of the best vegetarian and vegan dishes. The ambience is fantastic.

I understand that Samsara had good food, and looking at the past photos I can also imagine that was true. Today we found the cheapest veggies and buns probably available on the market at a massive overprice for what was in the plate. Really nothing special in the salads, baked cauliflower and potatos, bellow avarage burger. Saving the day were the in house drinks, french fries and the carrot cake. Otherwise, really nice place and very good serving. Hope that the place will come back to what it once was...

This is (in my opinion) the best fine dining restaurant in Romania. The food is absolutely exquisite, and the prices are quite low for what it offers. So if you are around Cluj, I highly recommend not missing it; try the tasting menu.

Had the full tasting menu with wine pairing. Excellent ingredients quality and attention to details. The english speaking waiter explained every bit of the experince from both food and wine side. Not pretentious and very welcoming atmosphere. Hope you guys will get a real well earned star soon!

Baracca is definitely one of the best and well known restaurants in Cluj which is located very conveniently right in the heart of the city. Their food is absolutely amazing. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Their service is impeccable and their staff is so polite and friendly. Trying their tiramisu is a must! Probably the best in town. I also had one of the best Proseccos here. Therefore, Baracca is an excellent option if you are looking for a place where to celebrate a special occasion with friends or family, meeting someone for a business meeting, a romantic date night or even dining alone. Make sure you make a reservation in advance. It gets very busy during the weekends especially.

I came to this place with really high expectations, but unfortunately it was not what I have expected. First of all, the overall experience was good, and the ambiance is definitely on the posh side. Everything feels profi, clean, good taste for interior design and overall ambiance. The plating is also 5*, minimalist with Michelin vibe. What was the turn off for me, and what should actually be the most important aspect, was the actual taste of the food. I would rate the food an overall 3*. The visual impact should make the food taste even better, but on this occasion it didn’t and the food was quite blunt. I don’t understand their mixes between ingredients and I think it is a very fine line between sweet food that can be served as a main, and weird combinations that don’t make sense. The foie gras felt like a desert. The fish had more foam than fish etc. I wish I would say to recommend it, but I wouldn’t go again…

Dressy place, this is considered a fancy place for Romanian standards. The food is good overall, the soups are quite flavorful and in highly recommend the celery soup. The duck is consistently well cooked, the accompanying sauces are served in a unique way and quite potently flavourful. If the expectation is that this is a regular Joe's restaurant, this restaurant will blow your mind, however the 4 stars are because of the really dry mushroom chicken and kind of bland cheese sauce. The service is up to par with what you'd expect in a very high end restaurant. Superb value for money!

Zama is by far my favourite restaurant in Cluj-Napoca. The food is always fresh and tasty. The staff, smiling and helping. The atmosphere relaxing and welcoming. I will go back to Zama anytime I’ll be back in Cluj-Napoca.

The design is very on point and the atmosphere overall feels chill, the music in the background is lounge style. The food was good, I had the tuna and I preferred it to be medium, but it was well done, but still delicious. My partners had clams, burgers and seafood pasta and they were happy with their choices. Also, good wine list! They had Malbec, my favorite.

Overall an OK experience, but not state of the art blow my mind 5 star feedback as per expectation. Luckily the manager took our feedback on board professionally. The duck leg with chorizo smashed potatoes is an absolute must! Anything else we ordered, not so much. The creme brulée was the most disappointing, had to be returned, unfortunately. So yes, will come back there, for the duck, but nothing else.

Beautiful little spot right in the main square, great for breakfast and a quick cup of coffee. Very cozy, industrial-chic interior that is very welcoming. Staff is attentive and polite, but may seem a little overwhelmed in crowded times (tables not always cleaned between customers. Food is not spectacular, but it definitely is good. Most breakfast spots in town have homemade bread from this region, it would've been great to have that here for all dishes. Overall enjoyable as a place and definitely good for a quick breakfast with a twist.

We’ve been there twice - our first night in Cluj and in the middle of our stay. The service and the food were fantastic. Highly recommend the BBQ ribs, fries and the fish & chips. If I have the chance I’ll come back again.

I’d say the two biggest pluses of this restaurant are its location, which is just steps away from Central Park, and its lush, green terrace, which is perfect during the warmer months. The food is decent, and the prices are fair all things considered. Inside, it’s fairly spacious, though the basement is a downside: poorly ventilated, often crowded, and furnished with uncomfortable old wooden chairs. It's a place worth checking out. I’ve been there many times and keep coming back from time to time.

Not too bad a spot for lunch, the ambiance is great and the food is decent. Service takes a long time though and some of them forgot our requests for water/extra plates etc.

Came here for a beer and a dessert after dinner. The beer list is quite extensive with a ton of options. There is also great outdoor Biergarten seating and the inside feels like a German bierhaus. Lots of food options as well, it was packed when I came and I can see why!

Delicious food, large portions at reasonable prices. I recommend the chicken schnitzel in Grana Padano crust with sweet potatoes. The staff is friendly and our meals were served very quickly.

Came for our annual festival dinner with a group of around 30 and service was really good. Considering how busy it was and how big the order was, our server and the service were great. Drinks and food was great and large. Great place for dates and groups. Our server, Cristina, was amazing. We’re all very experienced in the industry so we do notice these things.

Fabulous! Excellent food! They deserve a Michelin star!!!! Smoked Ham hock was definitely perfect with the wilted cabbage. The wild mushrooms and dumplings were also great. Oh, and good cold draft beer!

The food is quite average and definitely not something I would call tasty. The portions are rather small, and the garlic sauce was simply inedible. On the positive side, the place itself is nice and has a cozy atmosphere inside.

The best restaurant in Romania 🇷🇴 I have spent 9 days in different cities trying out different restaurants and this is the absolute greatest with regards to food’s taste, quality and price + staff friendliness + ambient chillness. For food, we had the best goulash soup I’ve tried in my life (no kidding, I have tried this soups in different cities and countries and this is the most tasty one I’ve ever had) + pork knuckle that was really nicely and evenly roasted + pork neck that tasted even better than some expensive rib eye steak I had. The staff was very approachable when I asked for clarifications and recommendations, and really helpful when I asked for my leftovers to be packed for take away (if you cannot finish your massive pork knuckle - worry no more! Take it away and trust me even in 2 days time it stills tastes amazing: we had it for breakfast when we forgot to buy bread haha). The place has a unique decoration and was elegant but chill, really receptive. The price were more than affordable compared to the quality we obtained (it was around 35€ for two people sharing one starter + 2 mains + 2 drinks). Summing up: ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED.

Ciao New York, great for a date night, evening out, or just a great meal. Went here for the first time last night, I was blown away at the experience I had. From walking in the door the dining area is on 2 floors and put together very well. The server was courteous, friendly and warm. Great qualities in an employee. The food is absolutely incredible. I had the beef specialty and let me tell you it was perfect. The steak was cooled to perfection, the truffle mashed potatoes were so packed with flavor I couldn't get enough. The dessert is the Italian Profiteroles and they were scrumptious with just the right amount of sweetness. They also have a great drinks menu with some very good wine.. This is now on top of my favorites lists in Cluj. When I go back I have to try the tiramisu because it is made in the house. I absolutely recommend stopping in and enjoying the sights, sounds, and tastes that Ciao has to offer.

Very nice staff and very good food. The place has ambiental music, so there was no issue in hearing each other. We ordered salmon with risotto and mustard sauce, fetucinne with seafood and pollo parmigiana. Very tasty and served rapidly. The waiter informed us about daily chef's favourites and we ordered from them. There is a menu a la carte too. The place is cozy and trendy.

Impeccable!! The waiter recommended us the salmon and the pasta, the mustard sauce was truly out of this world! I Came here by accident because I googled seafood and suggestions were limited. But wrong I would have been if I wouldn't have tried. First note, the pictures are for what we ordered and both of them were specials so you won't find them on the menu. Food felt fresh, tomato sauce was very tasty, plenty of flavors in the dish and the cheesecake, yes the cheesecake, the closest one I found to the proper NY style cheesecake. All in all, very good experience, a bit on the pricy side but well deserved the money.

This became my favorite stop for coffee. Beans are extreme high quality and roasting is really dialed in. Baristas are superb and highly skilled. Andrea is so kind and welcoming. Atmosphere is super chill and a great place to be.

Cozy place to chill and drink a good coffee. Staff know a lot of things about coffee, so don’t hesitate to discover more. Coffee is freshly roasted by them, several options available. Coffee culture here indeed.

The restaurant looks fancy, we really liked the old furniture and the place, but our expectations were a little higher before we stepped foot in there. I went for a baked garlic soup with a Horezu cheese toast, and my wife for a pork tenderloin with veggies and rice. First of all, I was expecting a real, nice and tasty toast, not just a slice of bread with some cheese on it. The sweet-sour veggies were basic, and the sauce tasted cheap (it seemed like it was the kind of sauce you find in some fast food chinese restaurants). Basically, we ate some decent but very overpriced food, and we're definitely not gonna come back anytime soon.

Quite interesting restaurant sering great wines and delicious food. Staff is almost military organized which was fun to watch. The chicken provencal was great and we lo ed the starters. All in all a really good place to go especially when you compare it to some other romanian gourmand experiences

I booked a table at Via for a birthday dinner, expecting a pleasant and slightly more refined experience than what you'd get at lower-budget spots around the city. Sadly, it turned out to be quite underwhelming - especially disappointing for a birthday. We were offered a table right away, and while the interior was simple and tasteful, we noticed several tables hadn’t been cleaned or reset, despite the restaurant being completely empty. That already felt a bit off. We ordered water, a lemonade, two duck breast dishes, and two desserts. Shortly after, an extra drink we didn’t order arrived, which was quickly taken back to the bar. About 20 minutes passed before the waiter came over to ask us to repeat our food order, saying there had been some kind of mix-up in the kitchen. Again, very weird given that we were the only clients at that moment. The mains finally arrived after about 45 minutes. The duck was beautifully cooked, with interesting flavours on the side, though the plating could have used a more creative touch. Once we finished eating, another waiter came to take our plates and ask if we’d like dessert even though we’d already ordered it earlier - probably because he saw us waiting for quite some time. Ten minutes later, our original waiter returned and asked again what desserts we wanted, explaining that yet another mistake had happened in the back. With only two desserts on the menu, and everything clearly noted at the beginning, it felt surprisingly messy and unprofessional for a place that’s rated so highly. The food itself was good, but nothing amazing and not close to any idea of fine dining. Considering the pricing and the disorganized service, it’s not a place I’d ever return to.

We returned to Via for a family night out after taking a break for a little over one year. We’ve been going to this restaurant for many years and each time the experience was positive. Food was great, service very good. That was not the case on our last outing . Service was still very good, waitress very attentive and extremely polite. The food … a complete different story. We ordered some items from the special menu. Not only these came undercooked ( we are taking about pork ribs which shouldn’t be eaten raw) but the taste the presentation the accompanying sides was the result of a gross amateurism when it comes to cooking. I am not sure what happened to this restaurant but it was the biggest culinary disappointment that I had in a while at a very steep price . I will never go back!! Note: The waitress returned with the ribs a bit more cooked ( she really tried so hands down to her) but the food was such a poor quality that nothing would have salvaged it .

Nice experience! Interesting restaurant. We were in the first room just after main entrance. Cozy place, relaxing atmosphere. Service was very good. Food was definitely tasty and well presented. Reasonable prices. Maybe just the salmon fillet was not according to my taste and I did not really liked it but all the rest was great. However, we enjoyed our visit and I would definitely visit the place again if I have the chance.

Enjoyed an excellent meal with my wife in a very nice classic setting. We had the baked feta to start followed by the salmon and bbq ribs mains. The baked feta was very tasty, the salmon was delicious and the pork ribs especially moist and tender. Nice wine choices too. Helpful and friendly service made for a very enjoyable dining experience!

Great crepe shop! They’re not stingy with the toppings and they make it fresh. Got a Monet and a Magritte, the magritte has some alcoholy syrup which gathered at the bottom of the crepe holder which was strong (at least for me) so just a heads up. Overall great food.

We visited a cute tiny shop in the center of cluj. My friend and I ordered the Botticelli and Luchian crepes. To start with, the staff made rude comments about us being foreigners which was quite off-putting. Furthermore, the Luchian crepe lacked any sweetness whatsoever, making it quite bland and unappetizing. The crepe itself was tasty so i’d recommend choosing different toppings.

The best Crepes shop in town! And among the best as bakeries/sweet shops in cluj-napoca! A loyal customer since 2018. A friend came in also and had Mondrian with an Espresso and Klimt. Were splendid! The prices are accessible. The staff is amazing, kind people who welcome any in, making you feel like cosy! It s an oasis of calmness in a sea of crowded restaurants and eateries! 10/10 Highly Recommend!

I have been following them on instagram for a while now and I was so excited to try their pastries. Both the sweet and savoury pastries are amazing. The laminated dough looks super good, the texture is perfect and the taste is out of this world. I recommend the danishes, the cruffin, the simple croissant, and my favourite - the pistachio croissant. I did not buy any eclair or cake because they looked a bit worse than the laminated pastries but I am sure they are worth it.

The prices are all right (20 ron/3 big cups) for what you are given, as the aromas are eclectic, gourmet and savoury, due to the flavour combination and used ingredient quality: I got the straciatella raspberry, pistacchio and cinammon rice cups! They were a delight! No cane sugar added, just the natural fructose/sugar and true taste of the flavours is felt throughout the experience, all nicely blended in a fine gelato quality. They also have nice sorbets, made from the fruits, cold-pressed, not concentrates, such as the orange ginger, mint lemon and basil lemon ones! 10/10 Would highly recommend!

The space is limited to sit inside, outside there is a small table otherwise on the opposite side of the street you will find benches. The staff is always welcoming and willing to answer any questions you may have. The prices are relatively expensive compared to the competition but I guess that's the price you pay if you want good quality materials!

Very disappointed. We bought "Choco-Martisoare" due to their ratings on social media. They taste like mold. Do not recommend! Update: We've been contacted by the owners and they apologized and explained that the moldy taste was due to the natural dye they used, maybe this is just a isolated incident but it still ruined our experience.

An apparently odd selection of ice creams, in respect to colour and ingredients, but totally delicious, I assure you. Spirulina and lavender, tarragon, melon and ginger, rhubarb and elderflower. The carrot cake was good as well. We didn't taste the mousses as they were frozen, and the ones they had in display were not exactly what we craved for. This sweet shop is a bit pricey, but is worth it. We found the lavender, tarragon and the rhubarb ice creams particularly delicious. Do try it out if in Cluj.

Recommended by our local friends, the line in front of Bianco Milano was proof that this place is a great gelato shop. I rarely go out of my way to write a negative review, but this time I had enough. I ordered a "Pizza Prosciutto e funghi" from olympos for 23 lei (in the price range of a normal pizza in cluj). What was delivered seemed like something you make in a war zone. - First of all the crust was burned really bad. - The crust is probably a cheap pre-made pre-frozen one from a supermarket. - The ham is.....I don't even know what to say about it, but it's certainly not prosciutto. It seemed like something cheap that came out of a can. - The ingredients used are probably the lowest of quality that you can find on the market. It's like a pizza for starving students (that is ok), but the price for this should be at least halved. - Bonus: I also ordered a sauce called "white sauce". Usually white pizza sauce is made with garlic and some herbs. This one came probably from a very cheap mayonnaise bottle without any extra additions.

The lady apologised told me nicely they didnt have decaff coffee . 10 min later she brought my coffe while apologising for being a bit late . They didn’t have matcha that I wanted to have, and card machine had an issue not working, only cash accepted, but the ice cream was great taste, I had blood orange & grapefruit, mint which both was refreshing that’s what I needed in hot weather in Cluj.

I’ve accidentally came across this place because it was the only open in the late evening. They have very tasty gelatos, definitely I recommend the pistachio one, in my opinion it has the perfect balance between sweetness and saltiness.

I had good experiences with this cake shop, the quality was not the best, but above the average in Cluj. However recently i bought a cake that was rotten/ out of date. The chocolate was not “what it seems”. Milka for example is better. Is not as high quality as it looks like. The textures are hard, feels like they’re old, and the fillings inside are nothing special. Also, too expensive. Service was nice tho, atmosphere from inside is simple.

I recently visited Acadeea and had an amazing experience! I tried the choux and had a cappuccino, both of which were absolutely delightful. The choux was made with natural ingredients and was not only delicious but also aesthetically pleasing. The cappuccino complemented it perfectly. Highly recommend this place for a great treat!

Phenomenal pastries and cookies. Don’t leave Cluj without trying these! They have some great gluten free and vegan options as well! All served in a cozy location with a beautiful interior. They often have new and seasonal offerings and so far, everything I've tried has been excellent. It's quite rare to come across high quality pastries like this. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the very decorative and "designed" looking pastries don't compromise on taste or texture.

The best hot chocolate during the winter, my husband is crazy for the freshly baked cookies (they’re the only spot in Cluj that serves the New York style, but they’re amazing!) aaand the cakes are just so tastefully decorated with incredible flavour combos. My favorite is the Christmas log cake with milk chocolate and passion fruit. They also have a beautiful Christmas Box with 4 stunning desserts shaped like tree decorations, amazing as a gift.

We visited Acadeea for the first time today and we were very impressed. From the quality of the sweets, service and atmosphere our coffee was much more enjoyable in such a great place! 🤍

Don’t order an ‚iced coffee‘ because you’ll only get milk and when you ask them to simply put coffee inside they want you to pay extra. Even on the bill it mentioned ‚iced latte‘, I asked them to just give me a coffee with a bit milk and ice cubes. They were super unfriendly (especially the girl making the coffee). In the end they gave me my money back rather aggressively and I needed to find another spot for my normally easy order.

Out of all the places I’ve tried in Cluj, I can confidently say that the most delicious cheesecakes are right here at The Cheesecake House! These details truly enhance the experience and make the place inviting. However, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the cheesecakes. The main issue is the lack of flavor – they are surprisingly bland and lack the distinctiveness one would expect from a specialty cheesecake shop. Additionally, all the varieties I tried tasted almost the same, and the consistency was identical across the board. It felt like there was little effort to differentiate the flavors or create a unique experience for each option. While the ambiance is delightful, I believe more creativity and attention to flavor profiles could significantly elevate the overall experience. Cheesecake lovers look for variety and bold flavors, and I hope you'll take this feedback into consideration to improve your offerings.

The first impressions I had from this place are pretty good, clean, and minimal decor with nice lighting and cozy seating. I went with two girlfriends on a Friday evening, and we were served by some really sweet workers. The whole team seemed really hard workers, and they had good vibes going. We ordered four cheesecakes kind of surf and turf type situations (to share). We especially went to try out the Basque San Sebastián chessecake, so we got one of those, a salted caramel chessecake, a crème brulee one and then a dulce de leche. Also we got tea and a coffee. The coffee was good and the tea was OK. The tea selection was very basic, to be honest. The Basque was all of our favorite, 9/10 the only thing is that there was A LOTTT of chocolate poured on top that cuts into the taste of the Basque chesscake. I recommend asking for it on the side (we will next time). The salted caramel was decent, only that the caramel wasn't at all salted, which was disappointing, given that it's included in the name. The dulce de leche cream had a dense consistency, which was nice once you cut a piece (very satisfying), and surprisingly, it wasn't too sweet. The crème brûlée could use a bit of help (recipe wise, giving that it was not at all crème brulee, the closest I could say it would be an interpretation of how someone that has never tasted a crème brulee should be like. Downside to this place; there is only one bathroom for men&woman.

The location is very central and easy to find. They have a large cheesecake variety and usually one type that they only have for a week or so, which is nice. Besides cheesecake, they also have some cookies, muffins and pavlova. The cheesecakes we had were good, pretty much tasted the same except for the topping. The prices are like all other restaurants in Cluj, so quite high, hence the 4 stars. The location is actually quite big and very modern and nicely decorated. They are also pet friendly, so I took my furry one with me.
