Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nestled in Surrey, BC, Redwood Park is a tranquil oasis that beckons nature lovers and families alike. This enchanting park features picturesque trails that meander through majestic redwood forests, lush groves, and open meadows—ideal for leisurely walks or delightful picnics with loved ones. Among its charming attractions is a whimsical fairy garden hidden within the towering trees, captivating both children and the young at heart with its ever-growing collection of tiny fairy houses.
A place we visit often - beautiful park and love the fairy garden. Family and stroller friendly. Lots of parking and hard to get lost. Last time we went we did come across a few very muddy areas with no ways around so don't bring nice shoes and bring a extra pair of socks. Of course to be expected since it outdoors but has been many times and never had the issue so we're underprepared.
Katelyn M — Google review
This is a very pretty park, we visited during a rain shower but still lovely. Ideal place for dogs and children with lots of open space and picnic tables. Well maintained walking trails and ample parking.
Jenn L — Google review
One of the BEST parks our family has been to! Shade, shade, shade! The forest was a treat. We stayed for 3+ hours playing, walking, and delighting in the fairyland! Don’t miss this one if your family likes playing outside.
Caroline M — Google review
Amazing park!! Loved the Fairy Garden with all the little houses. Amazing little houses, even more than the last time we were here. Great playground for the kids, great trails. Also has public restrooms.
Shawna S — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park packed with Redwoods and other amazing trees. Well maintained and very peaceful. Great place to bring the kids to expend energy as there is a play area as well as a fairy village. There are relatively clean and accessible public washrooms but they are quiet old. Great sheltered seating areas for those short notice showers or BBQ sunny days.
Gareth G — Google review
Short 10-15 min trails makes a decent stroll with toddlers, strollers, and seniors. There are multiple picnic areas depending on what context you're going for: by the playground, own larger field, views, etc. The diversity of tall trees in the park makes an interesting walk. Other highlights: Meadows, treehouse, stroller/wheelchair access playground feature, vast bird house displays. We'd come here again for the picnic and stroll.
Angel A — Google review
Went for a walk here with my husky today. All around beautiful, nice clean well maintained bathrooms, a huge plus. Playground looks nice, I'm sure my kids will love it when I take them next time. Trails were nice, albeit a tad covered in debris and I was hoping it would be a bit bigger to navigate around. But all around really enjoyable. Will definitely be back.
Ardi N — Google review
Such a fun experience here! Walking amongst the redwood trees is a beautiful experience. The hut was closed when I visited, but the park has abundant picnic spots and is very accessible for everyone. The fairy forest most definitely stole the spotlight away!

Tynehead Regional Park is a beautiful, peaceful spot that’s perfect for families and dog lovers alike. The trails are wide, well-maintained, and easy to navigate, making them great for all ages and activity levels. The scenery is incredible—lush forests, open meadows, and even a few spots along the river. It’s the kind of place you can visit again and again and always find something new to enjoy. A true gem in the area!
Breanna H — Google review
Big thanks to everyone who maintains and develops this beautiful park—your work really shows. The park features designated off‑leash areas, a network of connecting trails, and multiple parking areas for easy access. Along the way there’s plenty of scenery and a calm, sustainable feel to the landscape. It’s the kind of place where you might wander a little and not mind it at all. Getting pleasantly “lost” here is part of the experience.
Danny T — Google review
The Missus and I walked the entire Metro Vancouver’s Tynehead Regional Park. There were a number of access points to the park and plenty of signage showing directions throughout. The dirt trails in the forested westerly portion provided shade from the warm sun and the terrain wasn’t too difficult to traverse for the average walker. The Tynehead perimeter trail covering the easterly portion of the park was relatively more open to the skies and paved for cycling. A fish hatchery and a dog park were also located on site. Toilet facilities were available at various locations. A nice park to visit and get your steps in.
B W — Google review
Such a wonderful trail. I'd walk the trail here with my wife during summer and we'd always feel so refreshed after. Beautiful greenery and the smell of nature is just wow.
Gus R — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful park with lots of benches to rest if needed. Not overly crowded, family-friendly park for sure... 👌 Very clean and well maintained as well.
Irfa P — Google review
This is a no brainer 5 star ⭐️. The park is absolutely gorgeous. There is ample parking and public washrooms/outhouse. There are areas for picnics. A dog park is here also. The Serpentine River flows through the park and has an annual salmon run. Enough with the basics. The park is full of amazing trails and views. You will not be disappointed with the huge trees 🌲 and all the greenery. It’s a refreshing place and brings peace to the soul. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
Kirk D — Google review
Fantastic park situated right in the middle of Surrey! There are multiple entrances, and all of them offer maps for quick guidance. There are many signs indicating the trails, restrooms, watercourses, picnic spots, and overall facilities in the park. You can probably spend the whole day there just walking and admiring wonders of nature.

Parks
Darts Hill Garden Park in Surrey, British Columbia is a 7.5-acre garden with scenic trails and a summer concert series. Once a fruit orchard, it's now a collection of trees and plants from around the world, carefully groomed to flourish year-round. The park is open to the public on specific days throughout the year and offers lush grounds with rare plants, flowers, and trees.
The ladies at the meet and greet were pleasant and helpful. The artist in residence was a fun surprise. Having the trees labelled and the map to follow made the experience educational. The shade on a hot day was appreciated. Could have spent more time there, so will definitely go again.
Gwen M — Google review
It is a wonderful place to visit. If you enjoy flowers, trees, and nature, this park is perfect for you.
Bibiana J — Google review
If you like to walk and love to be immersed in nature this is the place for you. All types of trees and flowers and bushes, some flowering and some about too and others that have bloomed. Highly recommend!
Dorothy B — Google review

Ronald K — Google review
Absolutely lovely when things are in bloom. Plenty of benches for peaceful moments of rest too.
Patrice D — Google review

Dave L — Google review
Really nice private botanical garden. Can spend a good hour here. Entrance is by donation. Plenty of free parking. Beautiful flowers and good paths all through the garden. There are some benches available. Would be nice if they added some art and sculptures around the park.
Jen S — Google review
Leaving anxiety behind in my parked car, I slowly entered the garden. Being a second-generation Vancouverite, I couldn't believe I had never heard of this delightful spot before. We took our time maneuvering around the gigantic, fully bloomed, rhodo trees. I kept looking down on the ground and up to the blue sky to see the tops of the many varieties of trees. I stopped and listened to the silence. We were the only visitors besides the 2 hosts upon entry. Loved this day!

It’s that wonderful time of the year again🎉🎄 what a great way to start the Christmas feeling. Loved the walk through the lighted trail. We go to the park quiet often and to see it light up so beautifully was awesome. Plus it’s free. Do enjoy the lights this year, only till 18 Nov 2022. They also have some food carts available. And you do need to prebook the visit times.

Bear Creek Park is an amazing park for your family to enjoy. This park has a lot things to do from a outdoor swimming pool, water park, soccer field, picnic areas, track and field, workout equipment, football field, seating for the football field, a train, mini golf, a flower garden and lots more.
Gurjot S — Google review
Large beautiful park in the heart of Surrey. The park has an athletic field, garden, kids playground and park. There is also a mini golf and train which we could not explore. The parking is spacious and lots of open slots on a Friday evening. The kids playground has a lot of equipment including a merry-go-round, different kinds of swings, see-saws, slides, spray park, etc. Only downside was the restrooms are being reconstructed and they have makeshift portable toilets. Overall, it is good and definitely worth a visit especially for the well-maintained garden.
Mir T — Google review
Very nice park with lots of various amenities. There's a train ride for the children, areas for picnicking including BBQ tables. Tennis courts baseball diamond a football field which is located in the middle of the 400m track, where people can run more briskly walk or stroll. Currently under construction is the new Surrey event Pavilion. This looks to accommodate approximately 2,200 people put the various events that they hold here in Surrey. What aspect of walking around the track that isn't so pleasant is the smell that comes from the sewage located at the entry to the track at the north east corner.
Kab K — Google review
I walk at this park with my dog on a daily basis. It takes me 2+ hours for a full and complete walk. It's very relaxing. You can see a lot of birds, squirrels, and people walking their dogs, and even rabbits. There's lots of small rivers. Many beautiful trees. There's also many tables for yourself to eat with family. A track field too where a lot of people go to. I'm always relaxed when I go hear with my dog. It's a pretty big park, and as a regular, I tend to almost always find something new. I'm grateful to have this park in my life.
Brian S — Google review
The miniature train was not operating today so my son was disappointed but he enjoyed playing in the playground. It has two play areas which my son really liked. It also has water park, mini golf and a garden.
NAIMA — Google review
Absolutely stunning park, very spacious and extremely beautiful. Plenty of play areas for children of different ages. Lovely walking route through the woods as well as a garden. Also has a small train for kids as well as mini golf! Come on a good day and bring yourself some outdoor chairs, snacks and drink and I guarantee you will spend the day here!

My family and I recently visited Unwin Park and I must say it was an incredible experience for both the kids and us adults! The variety of activities available is fantastic. There are slides, swings, climbing structures, and even a splash pad that kept the kids entertained for hours. The layout of the park is spacious, allowing plenty of room and green areas for children to run around freely without feeling overcrowded. The playground equipment is well-maintained and clean, which made us feel comfortable letting our little ones explore. One of the highlights was the creative play area, where kids could engage in imaginative play with different themed sections. It was wonderful to see our children’s faces light up as they navigated through these areas, making new friends along the way. The park also has plenty of shaded seating areas and picnic tables for picnics and birthday parties. Parents can relax while keeping an eye on their kids. Overall, Unwin Park exceeded our expectations. It’s a perfect destination for families looking to spend a fun-filled day outdoors. We’ll definitely be returning soon!!

First time visiting this playground. Looks amazing. Some equipment showing signs of wear and tear but overall it's a wonderful playground. Too early in the year to experience the splash park but excited to return.

This is really good new playground for us since we live in south surrey seldom to come Newton area for fun. Our first time to come this playgroup. All facilities are quiet new and maintained well. Space is big enough, my kids were so happy to explore this new playground. The musical instruments and seesaw are very unique, the kids who were 5 -12 years can find the right one suitable for themselves. Around playground there are a couple picnic table, basketball and baseball playground. Water park and outdoor swimming pool. We will recommend our friends who would like to explore new playground to come to try. We will come again during summer time.

Unwin Park at Surrey has a tot lot play area, some music instruments and a huge climbing tower for older kids to play with. Even though the playground can be pretty hot during Summer time, but there are lots tree shades around. The other side of the playground also has a water spray park and a public pool. My kids had so much fun that they didn't want to leave! This park even have public washrooms, don't need to worry about it!

This was our first visit after some people recommended we check it out and we were very impressed. My three year old daughter ran around and had a ton of fun. It is aimed at 1-5 year olds with little advanced areas for older kids. It is equipped for kids of all levels, and is wheel chair accessible. We spent two hours there and my daughter wants to go back.

Hawthorne Rotary Park is a charming recreational area located in a residential neighborhood. The park offers various amenities such as a playground, spray pad, gardens, walking trails, picnic shelter, and washrooms. It's an ideal spot for families seeking relief from the summer heat with its water spray park and ample space for kids to play and expend their energy. Definitely one of the more popular parks in Surrey. I always see a busy parking lot and lots of people out and about this park. It's got everything. Walking trails. Wooded area. It's got grassy areas. A dog park at one end of the park. Ponds for birds and ducks. An amazing playground and a water park. I was here jogging through and there were lots of people on 🎄 out and about. The washroom here is very clean. A park with all of things you can do. Even EV charging station
WanderingNomadJunky — Google review
Beautiful park with children's playground. Nice big splash area and the restroom is located near it. Children were screaming and having fun in the playground. Lots of trees. There were also few ducks on the lake swimming around or resting on the log. It was nice overall.
NAIMA — Google review
This is a great place to go for a walk, exercise and walk your dog. There are short trails around and a small lake near the playground. There's a nice picnic area and a washroom nearby. There are a few parking spots nearby. Bring a snack, a hat or umbrella since there aren't many trees for shade. Fun place for adults and kids. Kids will love this place because there's a spray park and a huge playground.

Our go to park. It’s super natural. I love the aroma of tree, flowers and what not. Best for the walk. Must visit. We show owl even 🦉
Sarfraz I — Google review
This park is such a nice relaxing place to enjoy with your family and friends ! Lots of pay place swings activities for kids to explore. Kids love to play there at the water fun side as well. There are tiny trials there to walk around in the jungle side of this park. Totally calm and in the lap of nature place from the city hustle and bustle. I would definitely recommend visiting this beautiful park.
Sk K — Google review
A beautiful park with great play areas and splash park for kids. Lots of nice grass for picnics and quiet, shaded walking trails. A great place to walk the dog while waiting for the rest of the family to do their shopping at Guildford. I deducted one star because the off leash area isn't great and the park has no pet fountain.
Glen K — Google review
Very nice with quite a few ducks of several types. Nice trails that aren't too long. Nice playground for the children
Kab K — Google review
Hawthorne Rotary Park is a scenic neighbourhood park with a parking lot available. It’s a good sized park having areas for picnic, for kid’s playground with slides, swings, biking route, and for a manmade lake where ducks swim freely back and forth or rest on logs. The garden looks pretty and well maintained. Most importantly, the park is close to the city centre.

It’s a very nice park, I did not see an area of this parking lot but it is very easy to enter through various areas, the lake has species of colorful ducks, and also in one area you can see the beaver house. It has picnic tables and an area where people are usually fishing.

Really enjoyed the tranquil and paved trails of this park. There are different routes to walk around but everything is well labelled. A great spot in any and all seasons. Beautiful walking trails, either around the lake or thru the forested area, or even in the open fields. Every season brings something new to enjoy. There are often ducks at the lake. There are a few picnic tables added in the upper area overlooking the lake. Benches scattered about, a small dock to fish off, and just a great spot to enjoy some nature. No playground but my kids end up playing very organically, finding sticks to toss into the water, trees to explore and animals to watch. Nice change of pace from a typical afternoon at a playground :)
Ania K — Google review
Large peaceful park beautiful during all seasons. There is a small parking lot, as well as an overflow lot, but can be completely full during busy times. Lots of clearly marked gravel trails as well as several benches/picnic areas. The trails are paved well enough that it is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. Most of them are fairly wide, but there are some smaller routes that can only comfortable fit single-lane pedestrian traffic. Sometimes there are people fishing in the lake. There are ducks and small fish in the pond. There are also supposedly beavers but I’ve never seen em. No designated off-leash area for dogs
Selina M — Google review
Beautiful forest in the middle of the city. It has such a peaceful vibe to it. Good spot to spend an entire day or just a few hours walking on various trails. Large picnic area near the lake with benches around. The lake is restocked with fish every season for the fishing enthusiasts. Gentle easy trails to walk around and enjoy a quick break. Would definitely visit again

Beautiful library very spacious and well lit. Yet has a lot of books, meeting rooms & eating & study space. Loved it. It’s very open

One of the largest and newest libraries in Surrey city. I love the layout of inside. Many function area, room and study tables , clean and bright glass windows, city view of central area. Many parking spaces under ground. 2 hours free parking but need to register your plates number when you enter library . Good place for study and learning knowledge. Worthy to visit .
Melissa M — Google review
Wonderful building, not just the exterior but ambience and the lighting inside with enough seats, couches. Underground PARKING IS FREE, we didn't know this and paid for parking as we made entrance through wrong lift. Getting into the building can be little confusing as the parking doesn't have enough sign boards. Amazing staff, they are really helpful and proactive in approach, I came looking for a book , they saw my baby with me and explained about the programs for infants and gave a welcome kit for her . Great programs for all age groups.
M D — Google review
Lovely building! The staff is super helpful and patient. I have used study room to take a virtual meeting and it was a nice experience. The balcony has barstools to sit on and work on your own laptop, iPads or phones. It's a very bright and spacious place with a separate kids section and a cafe. Free membership. Monthly events. Free LinkedIn Learning. Full of perks and that too for free! 100% recommend to readers and non-readers alike.

The architecture of the City Centre branch of Surrey Libraries is truly impressive! The open, multi-tiered design with its flowing curves and expansive skylights creates a bright, inviting atmosphere. The clever use of natural light enhances the modern aesthetic, while the spacious layout and thoughtful integration of communal areas make it both functional and inspiring. A stunning example of contemporary design.
H D — Google review
Not ideal for work, often quite LOUD and very minimal seating. Unlike most libraries they don't care much about sound, there is an open concept screaming children section on the bottom floor which is often full of kids at all times of hours and days and you can hear it echo through the whole library. Other then that decent selection of books and very friendly staff. Also a large abundant immigration services but no services for actual citizens which is odd, favoring immigrants. Even the whole career job wall is just all for immigrants only.
David — Google review
The library is stunning and I experience a profound sense of calm when I enter and spend time there. I have utilized the space for both studying and teaching, and the staff and security have consistently been affable and supportive. Due to its proximity to city hall and the Surrey KPU campus, it can get quite busy. However, it is conveniently located near the skytrain, a shopping center, and numerous dining establishments. The facility is modern and well-lit, and includes various conveniences such as complimentary parking, a cafe, and designated areas for parents. The children's section is vast, and it's worth noting that registering your license plate at the entrance will grant you two hours of free parking.
Karan V — Google review
A modern and futuristic library, but some of the staff talk very loud like in a farmer's market. They should know that the library is supposed to be very quiet and that they should try their best to keep their voice down, not talk so loud that everyone can hear them from the ground floor to the top floor. I would like to encourage them to visit Vancouver Public Library and see how their staff behave.

A very nice park in the middle of the city of Surrey. It has well maintained trails, flora, and fauna. If you want to get away from the city and escape into nature, this will be a great park for you.

Nestled in Surrey, BC, Peace Arch Provincial Park offers a tranquil retreat for both nature enthusiasts and history buffs. The park boasts lush lawns and gardens perfect for leisurely strolls and picnics, as well as the iconic Peace Arch that spans the U.S./Canada border. Visitors can revel in various scenic views while walking amidst the picturesque landscape. Additionally, 1001 Steps Park provides a zigzagging trail leading to the beach for wildlife observation.
A historic place with a scenic view of sea and land. Immensely peaceful but gets crowded on weekends. Nice provincial park to spend a day with family. Parking gates close at 8:00 pm and opens at 08:00 am so plan accordingly.
Imran K — Google review
Good one to spend 1-2 hrs, make sure to park your car on the parking otherwise you have to come through border security which will take not less than 1 hr. Parking is on first right turn and there are not turns beyond that point
Naman — Google review
Beautiful park on the US-Canada border. The park has large green open space. The peace arch towering the park is magnificent. There is ample free parking. The view of the ocean, totem pole and Japanese garden are really good. But the most unique thing about the park is that people from US and Canada can meet without going through immigrations. There are rangers who monitor that there are no illegal crossings but nothing is checked while you are in the park. The park is very peaceful and well maintained. USA also maintains the park on the other side of the border. The US side has a play area with some swings in addition to restrooms and picnic shelters. Looking forward to visit again.

Peace Arch Park is an ideal spot for family outings and mini picnics! The lush greenery, spacious grounds, and tranquil ambiance create the perfect setting for quality family time. Kids absolutely love exploring the park, playing games, and having a picnic under the clear blue sky. With ample space to run around and plenty of picnic spots, it’s a wonderful place to create lasting memories with loved ones. Highly recommended for families seeking a fun and relaxing day out!”
ARPITA S — Google review
An interesting and spectacular place where the border between the two countries, America and Canada, has no guard, the park has a picnic area and a children's play area, you can visit both sides of the park in America and Canada.
Eva Z — Google review
Shopping in the US is our family’s routine every now and then. I loved to see the historical Peace Arch with its gorgeous garden across the border. It’s a beautiful monument situated between the communities of Blaine, Washington and Surrey, British Columbia.
Bernie — Google review
This park is very hard to get to or find if you have never been there before. Google maps takes you all over the place even tries to send you across the border to the USA, but does not give good directions to get there. When you get to this park it is very small, but it has beautiful large trees and a small path to the railway tracks and you can see the beach on the other side. You are not allowed to cross the tracks. There is a sign threatening charges if you get caught. Don’t get caught crossing the railway tracks. At the end of the path you can see the USA and Canada sides of the border. Across the water you can see the Island and the open ocean. The sight is beautiful. There is very little to do at this park. If you are not going there for a planned gathering or to see the railway tracks and the beach across from them, this park is boring.
Dee D — Google review
Make sure you take the beach road exit before the US Canada border ! Orelse you will have to make a u turn and sit through a line . The police man at the duty free exit are not well trained in Canadian politeness to say the least. Park itself is amazing , you can bring your on stove and have a good time.

Blackie Spit, located in Surrey, Canada, is a nature park nestled on the shores of Boundary Bay near Crescent Beach. It offers a 5-km nature trail and an off-leash dog area. The park features sandy beaches, tidal flats, and salt marshes that showcase diverse coastal ecosystems. As part of the Pacific Flyway, it's renowned for bird-watching with opportunities to spot shorebirds and waterfowl such as sandpipers and yellow-rumped warblers.
Peaceful and quiet place to visit. I lived in Vancouver for over 20 years but it's my first time to visit Blackie Spit. It's a great place for walking with family. There is a dog swimming area where I found it very unique. There are some restaurants and bakery nearby, where I highly recommend people to visit as well. Search for Google review is always a good idea. This is how I found this place as well.

Beautiful park where you can go for a swim, a stroll, or check out wildlife. Sand and pebble beach. Be prepared with sunscreen as there is limited shade from trees. Parking may be difficult and it was very busy when we went on the weekend. No dogs permitted except in certain off-leash areas.
May Z — Google review
Nice place for stroll. Or day at beach if you get there early on a nice day. Tidal beach, so silty more than sandy. Parking is a nightmare when busy. Someone blocked us in yesterday, was an hour to get out. Dog friendly beach just before spit area. Spit is wildlife/bird protected and nesting area. So no kites, no drones or dogs.
Jean H — Google review
I love Blackie Spit! It's beautiful! It's our favourite spot to walk our dog, picnic, and paddle board. Love the beach and the park, and also the beautiful neighbourhood. This place is a wonderful place to bring your family and your furry friend, and also for people who love photography.

Beautiful ocean location. Very busy but very pleasant. Everyone is polite and everyone has dog etiquette. There is an off leash area which is quite a good size. An under cover area if it rains. Lots of beach access and different terrain. Benches to chill and enjoy the view. Come sit and watch all the different dogs and their owners go by. Dip your feet in the ocean or just post up and have and insta photo shoot.
West D — Google review
We took the dog here for a walk this evening with the famjam just before the sunset. The smell of the ocean and the sunset was amazing. Just a beautiful spot to go. Lots of people out enjoying the evening here as we were. The parking lot closes at 8pm (why so early!). Also dogs are only allowed here from September to May - so bring the mut here while you can lol. The sunset this evening was fantastic. Great way to spend the evening before the impending rain!
Chris L — Google review
The beach and the park area were great. The park was kept very clean and had picnic tables. Bathrooms were nice and clean. The walk in the fresh air was amazing. There was beautiful homes along the water. What a great place for fishing crabs too. My friends and I had a great time there.
Myra M — Google review
Very relaxing place to spend time and you do not have to exit your vehicle to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The sea water is very calm and you can watch boats and people on the water. There is a rental here for water crafts like boats and paddle boards if you want to try them out you can rent them per hour. This is a hidden gem worth visiting.

Mud Bay Park in Surrey, British Columbia is a popular destination offering scenic shoreline trails along Boundary Bay. The park is known for its diverse range of waterfowl and serves as an important bird preservation area. Visitors can enjoy a 3-kilometer nature walk with stunning views, especially during sunset. Keep an eye out for seals and loons when the tide is high. Note that dogs, bikes, and horses are not allowed on the shoreline trails from fall to early spring.
Lots of construction going on but the trail is awesome for biking and walks. Views of the ocean are nice.
Sok B — Google review
A beautiful place to walk and lots of birds around. My 95 year old friend was even able to do it with her walker
Debbie P — Google review
Great park to get out for a stroll, there are plenty of great views from the shoreline. Dogs love it, lots of scents for them to check out as the park is abundant with wildlife (use a leash as the trails provide limited space to pass).
Tim K — Google review
I love this park! From the parking lot all the way to the delta boundary and then back through the view points is a quick 5.2km loop. I do this walk sometimes right after work. People I meet on the trail are friendly. Cons: Sometimes people don't pick up after their dogs. Traffic noise can be bothersome for some people. But I don't mind it.
Ryan P — Google review
It's an open seaside trail along the Boundary Bay. There is a nice breeze all along due to open space and proximity to the sea. Ideal for biking as well. We went there with a 2 year old. He didn't seem to enjoy much as there wasn't much variety along the trail. Also it can get a bit too sunny. There is construction at the parking site. There are no public washrooms but there is a portable toilet due to the construction site. It's not the best trail in this area although not a bad one for a one time try. There are boards with pictures of migratory birds. I guess it will be a great sight during the season.
Souvik B — Google review
One of my favorite places to take a stroll with the family. Beautiful views and easy enough to take a very enthusiastic toddler/little kid on. The walkway by the highway can get a bit noisy (obviously). Great place to take family, engagement, etc. pictures, too! Updating with summer pics :)
Josie M — Google review
Great park.. it's a bit out of the way to get to the entrance... The loop runs around the shoreline where you can enjoy views of the bay and the mudflats.. fantastic area for photography with the setting sun.. the area inside the loop is an ecologically sensitive area, so keep to the trails only.. the trail runs all the way along the shoreline to the boundary bay dike and beyond. Lots of mosquitoes after sundown, so plan accordingly. Do not go by the times mentioned on the Google maps listing. They list the Surrey city timings.. I have a picture of the park timings attached with this review. It is a great area for bird watching during the season and a good place to see some raptors as well
Arvindh R — Google review
The trail is gravelly and pretty flat. It's a bit narrow given the fact that it's used by cyclists, people with dogs, runners and regular walkers. There's ample parking space but it can quickly run out on good sunny days. Many sections are pretty close to the main road and with the traffic noise it feels you're on the road instead of on the trail. We saw a couple of eagles and other birds. So a good place for birds watchers. Overall a good place for a long walk amidst nature.

It’s a very nice park, I did not see an area of this parking lot but it is very easy to enter through various areas, the lake has species of colorful ducks, and also in one area you can see the beaver house. It has picnic tables and an area where people are usually fishing.
Meyline C — Google review
Really enjoyed the tranquil and paved trails of this park. There are different routes to walk around but everything is well labelled. There is a lake in the middle which is beautiful but not covered; otherwise the majority of the trails are covered by trees and is a great place to walk in the summer heat or during rainy days. There are also picnic areas to sit at and benches at different areas of the park.

Ania K — Google review
one of the most beautiful park nearby. Lots of people are fishing. There were lots of seating area and everything's super nice. lots of ducks too!! Highly recommend to spend time with family / friends / love ones.
Shierly Y — Google review

This trail is very well-maintained and easy to walk, making it perfect for a relaxed stroll or a bike ride. The parking lot is spacious, and the picnic tables and shelters are clean and in excellent condition. There’s also a restroom conveniently located midway along the trail. It’s not far from the ferry terminal, which makes it a great stop before or after a sailing. Dog friendly.

A group of us came for a Potluck Picnic In The Park, and we had a great time. We rented the Yellow Warbler Covered Picnic Tables ( first one on the far left of the Parking Lot ) Some of the people went for a walk around the area, and were pleased with the area and looking at the Mighty Fraser River as well. Washrooms were like a Camping style Washroom but we're clean and stocked well with TP lol. The Park has a lot of area to walk around in, and there's also a play area for kids also. We were so pleased with the area, and Covered Picnic Tables that will be definitely holding another get together there in the future. And I noticed that it seemed that the Park people even swept the Concrete before we arrived. And they also stopped by, and asked if we had any garbage we wanted to get rid of at the time. Great hidden area close by that many people don't even know about...

Surrey Bend Regional Park is a beautiful and relaxing spot tucked away near Fraser Heights, making it a great escape from the busyness of the city without having to travel too far. The park is thoughtfully designed with plenty of benches and picnic areas, so it’s easy to find a comfortable spot to sit back and enjoy the natural surroundings. Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or just on your own, it offers a peaceful environment for everyone. The amenities here are also quite convenient. You’ll find clean washrooms, water taps, and even a mist shower that’s especially refreshing on warm summer days. These small touches make a big difference in creating a comfortable and enjoyable visit. One of the unique features of Surrey Bend is its connection to Barnston Island. The ferry that takes you across departs from here, adding an extra element of adventure for those who want to extend their outing and explore even more of the area. Overall, Surrey Bend is an excellent spot for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply spending time outdoors surrounded by greenery and water views. It’s a hidden gem in Surrey that’s worth visiting more than once.

Usually in Metro Vancouver you don't see many small birds but when I went there was loads of them, even seen a few Hurons. Very easy walking.

The scenery is stunning — from dense forests to beautiful riverside views, every corner of this park feels serene and refreshing. There are plenty of spots to sit and relax, have a picnic, or just enjoy the sound of birds and flowing water. It’s also very family-friendly, with open areas for kids to run around and clean washroom facilities. What I love most is how quiet and calm it is — not overly crowded like some other parks. It’s the perfect place to recharge mentally and physically.
H D — Google review
This was my first time visiting the park with my dog this afternoon. The walk was very enjoyable and not too many people on the path which was nice. You can still hear city noise throughout the walk but that's to be expected. A good chunk of the path is covered by trees that provide shade. Make sure to pack citronella spray for mosquitoes.
