Granville Island is a charming cultural and artistic hub in Vancouver, known for its daily public market featuring over 50 food vendors. The island underwent a major transformation in the 1970s, turning from a polluted industrial site into one of Vancouver's most beloved attractions. Visitors can explore artisan studios, cozy cafes, and a two-level kids market. The bustling public market offers an array of goods including fresh produce, local eats, crafts, and more.
We walked to the island from Kitsilano via the beach front, which is definitely worth doing, the island itself is very tourists driven, however it is also a popular shopping area, for locals, we loved just walking around taking it all in there are many galleries to enjoy as well as the souvenir shops. All in all wonderful experience.

My experience at Granville Island was wonderful! They have a charming market that is very well-stocked with a great variety of products, including many delicious cheeses, fruits, patisserie and foods. I made sure to try their very famous and highly recommended soup. Honestly, it’s a must-visit spot. Plus, the whole neighborhood is incredibly beautiful and clean, making the area really pleasant."
Thamy S — Google review
Granville Island is a must-visit in Vancouver! This vibrant spot offers a mix of: - Fresh food at the Public Market - Local artisans and handmade crafts - Live street performers - Craft beers at Granville Island Brewing Co. - Stunning waterfront views A perfect blend of creativity, community, and fun. It is also a tourist trap
Blessing O — Google review
Granville Island is a unique spot with a lot of character, though my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. As someone with no sense of direction, I found the layout of the island a little challenging to navigate. The network of alleys, industrial-style buildings, and indoor/outdoor market spaces had me doing a few loops! The gloomy, overcast weather that day didn't help, casting a slightly subdued and industrial feel over the place. However, the heart of the island is undoubtedly the Public Market. It's a vibrant hub bursting with life, where I loved wandering past the fantastic food stands and unique artisan stores. The location right on the water is a major plus. Being next to the pier made it incredibly easy for us to take a scenic ferry ride directly to downtown Vancouver, which was a highlight. I arrived fairly early on a weekday, so it was much less crowded than I had anticipated. The downside was that several restaurants were still closed until nearer to noon.
Jayne Z — Google review
Sept. 19/25: Haven’t been here for a long time as parking is limited and all pay. It’s too bad because it’s definitely a tourist destination and I’m sure the many businesses would appreciate more parking. The public market is a draw with its vast array of everything gourmand, sights and sounds enticing. Lee’s Donuts is a big draw here, look up for the filled donuts as the brightly coloured iced donuts are displayed in front at people level. Fresh filled cappaletta, fresh basil, variety of cheeses and pastry was purchased. Everything looks very fresh but not light on the wallet.
DLH — Google review
Granville Island is a wonderful place to spend the day! It has a wide variety of shops, bakeries, and restaurants offering something for everyone. You’ll find everything from toys for kids and pet supplies to handmade jewelry, clothing, unique gifts, crafts, paintings, and more. It’s also home to several theaters, and there are always cultural events happening — like plays, dance performances, and live concerts. It’s a very complete and vibrant place, perfect for locals and tourists alike. Getting there is easy too — whether by car, bus, sea taxi, or even on foot.
Tamia C — Google review
A nice place to explore locally made goods, food and more! The sights of the island itself are also beautiful.
Forest B — Google review
Had a fun filled weekend morning here. Our kid enjoyed stroll around the island. Definitely recommend visit on a sunny day especially weekends for a tourist to enjoy the vibe or for local people. There is fruit market, flower market, kids play areas, shopping, restaurants, activities so on. Parking is plenty but quickly fills up by noon, so plan to visit in the morning hours before noon.

Nature & Parks
Stanley Park, Vancouver's largest urban oasis, is a stunning blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. Nestled on a peninsula just north and west of downtown, this expansive park offers visitors an escape from the city's hustle and bustle. With its scenic seawall perfect for walking or rollerblading, lush forests to explore, and family-friendly attractions like the Vancouver Aquarium—home to over 65,000 marine animals including playful sea otters and charming penguins—there’s something for everyone.
🏞️ Stanley Park – A Must-Visit Gem in Vancouver! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stanley Park is simply breathtaking! Whether you’re a runner, a nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful escape in the city, this place has it all. The scenic landscapes, open spaces, stunning beaches, and well-maintained sidewalks and trails make it the perfect spot for an outdoor adventure. One of my favorite things is running along the Seawall, with incredible ocean and mountain views on one side and lush forest on the other. It’s an experience like no other! 🌊🏃‍♂️🌲 Beyond running, you can bike, walk, or even just relax by the beaches, soaking in the beauty of Vancouver’s most iconic park. If you’re visiting the city, Stanley Park is an absolute must-see—you won’t regret it! Have you been here? What’s your favorite activity at Stanley Park? Let me know! 👇🏼
Alvaro S — Google review
This park is a stunning blend of natural beauty and urban charm, offering a unique experience that’s hard to find elsewhere. The picturesque trees, beautifully designed walkways, and serene bay views create the perfect setting for relaxation or an active day out. One of the most captivating features is the view of the skyscrapers juxtaposed against nature, along with the mesmerizing sight of vessels passing by and water airplanes landing and taking off—it’s truly a photographer's dream! The park is free to visit, which makes it even more appealing. For those seeking adventure, you can rent a boat or a bike to explore further. The dedicated cycling track is great for riders of all skill levels. After your activities, the nearby seafood options provide a delicious way to wrap up your visit. This park is a gem that offers something for everyone, whether you're looking for tranquility, a place to exercise, or a fun outing with family and friends. Highly recommended!
Lalit K — Google review
Wonderland of trees and wildlife!! The seawall is spectacular and a perfect place for a daily dog walk, run or bike ride. Even rollerblading is permitted! A few restaurants are located within the park’s boundaries and one gift shop. I love this place so much and highly recommend visiting. You could spend days just exploring the trails and sights.
Oceanna S — Google review
An incredibly beautiful park at the tip of downtown Vancouver, perfect for a run or a walk after work. The seawall (the path around the park by the water) allows for many different sceneries from the Vancouver skyline to the harbour or the ocean. A must visit during your stay in Vancouver, BC, that's for sure! And don't miss Prospect Point Lookout for one of the best views of the Lions Gate Bridge and West Vancouver 😊
Mikael B — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. So many places to park for the various portions of the park. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. There are gorgeous running/bike/hike paths with amazing overlooks of the bridge, water and the city. So pretty
Kailah O — Google review
We had a great day at this park so much to do. The Aquarium was awesome and food was good. There is a lovely beach area to take a picnic. If you have kids they will love it. The walks are interesting you won't regret going. Take lots of water
Kerry H — Google review
Stanley Park feels like a true jungle in the heart of the city—an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle. If you’re seeking peace and quiet, and you love birds and small animals, this is the perfect place to explore. You can spend hours discovering its wonders, from lush forest trails to serene lakes and breathtaking ocean views. With playgrounds, restaurants, a pool, and the sea, there’s something for everyone. Every time I walk through the park, I find something new to enjoy and marvel at—it’s truly a magical experience.
Ebrahim R — Google review
Stanley Park’s Inner Loop Hike is an essential experience for anyone visiting or living in Vancouver. As you step onto the well-maintained trails, you’re immediately enveloped by lush greenery, towering old-growth trees, and a sense of tranquility that feels worlds away from the nearby urban bustle. The park’s diverse ecosystem features a mix of conifers, ferns, and vibrant forest undergrowth, creating a calming, natural ambiance. This hike offers a perfect retreat for solo adventurers seeking a peaceful connection with nature. Along the way, you’ll encounter scenic viewpoints, quiet spots by Beaver Lake, and even glimpses of wildlife. Whether you’re looking to reflect, recharge, or simply breathe in the fresh air, the Inner Loop provides an ideal setting for a rejuvenating escape.

Leo H — Google review
As time goes on, I have very mixed feelings about this gallery. It is the biggest one in the city but no student membership is available. I used to be a member, and can no longer afford it. The entry fee is exorbitant so I bought a year-long entry pass to make up for it... I also wonder about the curation. I liked the recent ceramics exhibit but that's because I love ceramics! I felt underwhelmed by the others. My previous visits ~4-5 years ago felt stronger than recent exhibits. Bring in more classical/traditional work, in addition to contemporary, to balance things out. I mean beyond Emily Carr (who is great but shown constantly).
Dean C — Google review
While I live near and visit Vancouver a lot, I hadn’t been to the Vancouver Art Gallery in almost 20 years. The cost to visit is rather high, given the size of the gallery. As a BC resident it was $29. We spent just over an hour visiting the 4 floors. The up escalators were all out of order at the time of visit, though there was an elevator for accessibility. The exhibits were well presented and maintained, though the building was super warm and lacked air flow. The Emily Carr exhibit was definitely the highlight for me.
Alyssa B — Google review
Visiting the art gallery for the first time was a truly wonderful experience. The exhibition featured a wide range of unique art pieces, including beautifully crafted pot sculptures in various styles and designs. I was especially fascinated by the ceramic sculptures, each one showcasing incredible detail and creativity. The gallery also displayed stunning paintings that captured different themes and cultures. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience that gave me a deeper appreciation for diverse forms of art and cultural expressions.
Deepti M — Google review
This is a nice gallery to visit if you have a couple of hours to spare while in town. It is a spacious place with exhibitions from different artists. The content changes during the year so it's good to keep an eye on the venue schedule. This venue is centrally located in downtown.
C T — Google review
I must confess that I found myself somewhat underwhelmed. The impressive architectural structure did not seem to house anything particularly captivating or noteworthy. The contemporary and conceptual art installations, while present, did not fully engage my interest. Consequently, I would only recommend a visit if one has already experienced all other attractions Vancouver has to offer.
Gayane G — Google review
Really wish I had read reviews before visiting this place. Someone else described it as one of the least inspiring art museums and I would strongly agree. What made it so much worse was the fact they closed the main stairs, forcing us in loops to get to tiny back stairs. Then, where there were escalators, half didnt work - so time to backtrack around the building through the depressing exhibits of a single barrel of hay. I understand artists suffer for their art - but must I suffer as well?
K A — Google review
I met up with a friend for lunch - which was delicious- and a tour of the galleries. Emily Carr will for ever make might heart sing. Riopelle will never be my vibe. And though I try to under his work, I believe that he may have best been used to grace the cover of annual reports or novels and anthologies, before the varnish yellowed his pieces. I regret not spending the day with "Otani Workshop: Monsters in My Head", as everything is beautiful and poetic.

Nestled atop a hill, Queen Elizabeth Park is a stunning urban oasis in Vancouver that beckons nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Spanning 52 hectares, this park is renowned for its meticulously manicured gardens and the enchanting Bloedel Conservatory, where vibrant flora thrives year-round. At an impressive elevation of 125 meters above sea level, visitors are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline and majestic mountains beyond.
Come here and experience an amazing park. There are plenty of great reviews and the vast majority are glowing and rightly so. From the Blodel Conservatory to the outdoor gardens to the walking trails this park is an oasis in the middle of urban sprawl. There is an excellent restaurant. There is plenty of parking and easy access to all attractions. Public washrooms are also available. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the park and easily recommend coming here. We will definitely come back.
Kirk D — Google review
Lovely open garden, no admission required! Highly recommend if you are a flora enthusiast or just someone who likes pretty things! Many spectacular roses, poppies, and so much more! Definitely stop by if the weather is nice.
Missy I — Google review
Absolutely stunning park with plenty of walkways offering different views, all of which are breath taking. The grounds and everything within them are incredibly well maintained and the staff clearly take pride in this, whilst being respectful and polite to visitors. There is a restaurant on site with great food you can enjoy alongside an amazing view of the Vancouver skyline. Highly recommend!
Clare B — Google review
My brother and I used to golf here and play in the snow growing up nearby. The park hasn't changed that much. It is still a lovely place to take visitors and I am hoping to find the artist selling the beautiful Vancouver prints again.
Yvonne — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park! First stop on our Vancouver trip and it was well worth the beauty. Please take the time and spend the extra cash to drop into the greenhouse. It’s not expensive and the flowers are amazing. The entire garden is well kept and the artwork made with the flowers is incredible. My only recommendation would be to somehow change the water feature that’s no longer in use. Other than that 1000/10 spot to visit.
Joshua P — Google review
We wanted to spend some quality time together surrounded by the wonders of nature. Fortunately we decided on Queen E Park. We parked on Midlothian Avenue and walked over to the Duck Pond. Sadly it was just stinky mud, but the trail led us to the Large Quarry. It was breathtaking. We had to take a new picture after every couple of metres. Then we walked over to the Small Quarry for more gorgeous flowers and bushes. To finish, we walked up to the Conservatory level. From there you have great views of Vancouver and the surrounding mountains. There are even plaques that point out various mountain's names. Seasons in the Park is a fine dining experience with great views. There is lots of paid parking available if you drive up. We've been there several times and never get bored with the stunning display. This is MUST SEE!
David E — Google review
It is a beautiful park, great for picking and having the kids run around. It has many other places like the Bloedel Conservatory: a nature and wild life garden, Quarries, and restaurant. Perfect for photo shoot spots, and you can see city from the top of the park. Queen Elizabeth Park's peaceful gardens are great place to spend an afternoon.
Shereen H — Google review
I went playing disc golf. The course design is good with a little challenge that there is a basket beside the lake. The lawn is too muddy if there was rain the day before. I like the separate putting area particularly, good for practice. The view from the observation deck is spectacular. You are able to see all the local ski resorts when the sky is clear. Paid street parking on slope is available.

Canada Place is a distinctive complex in Vancouver designed to resemble a ship, featuring a convention center, hotel, and ferry terminal. The iconic white sails of Canada Place offer stunning views of Vancouver's waterfront, Burrard Inlet, and the North Shore mountains. It serves as both a cruise ship terminal and the Vancouver Convention Center, hosting numerous events throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy attractions like FlyOver Canada, offering a virtual experience of flying over notable Canadian landmarks.
It is an incredible and stunning view of cruises and seaplanes while enjoying the sunset, as well as the ocean. Tons of singing street performers along the road, tons of visitors from all over the world. I can't describe how happy I was when I was there. I am definitely coming back to this place. Oh, Vancouver, how I miss you already !!!
Lily R — Google review
Large all purpose convention center to host cruise ships that sail to Alaska and Pacific Northwest. Many activities can be found here. Attractions information are available at numerous desks within the complex, and attractions launched here via myriad of shuttle buses. Restaurants and shops abound. It is a busy and active spot on the waterfront for tourists and locals to enjoy the beauty of a city by the bay.
Credible C — Google review
The area offers an excellent atmosphere for strolling and observing tourists as they board their cruises. In addition to the lively ambiance, there are various rides and souvenir shops to explore, making it a vibrant destination. Walking to or taking a ride share service is best since I didn't see any parking areas.
Andrew A — Google review
It is an Iconic landmark and a must-visit in Vancouver. Canada Place offers stunning views of the waterfront, mountains, and city skyline. The architecture is impressive, and it's a great spot for photos. Explore the shops, dine at one of the restaurants, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Perfect for locals and tourists alike

The water front area . Ferry, station and many bus pick up place. Very nice views of water front and city. Tickets to many tourist attractions including Capilano suspension park, grouse mountain, etc., available
Wilson V — Google review
Canada Place is one of those spots in Vancouver that instantly makes you pause and take it all in. With its iconic white sail design against the waterfront, it’s as photogenic as it gets. The promenade gives you sweeping views of the harbor, the North Shore mountains, and the constant movement of seaplanes taking off — a scene that feels uniquely Vancouver. It’s especially beautiful around sunset when the city lights start to glow and the mountains fade into silhouettes. Walking along the pier feels calm yet vibrant, with locals jogging, tourists snapping photos, and cruise ships occasionally docked nearby. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming, and the fresh sea breeze adds to the charm. Inside, there’s a mix of exhibitions and cafés, but honestly, the real magic is outside. Tip: Go in the late afternoon for the best light and fewer crowds. If you’re into photography, bring a wide-angle lens to capture both the sails and the skyline. And don’t skip the “Canadian Trail” along the west promenade — it’s a short but scenic walk that tells a story about the country. Canada Place may be touristy, but it’s also the kind of place that reminds you why Vancouver is loved for its balance of city and nature.
Hung H — Google review
Last week was my first cruise and was pleasantly surprised how easy and efficient it was at Canada Place to drop off our luggage and proceed to get on board our ship. We walked by the day before our ship left to get a lay of the land (walking down toward the luggage drop off) and ended up taking an Uber the day of (overpackers, lol) and got down to the drop off very quickly.
Katie Q — Google review
A beautiful building and a must see place when visiting Vancouver. There is a hotel, convention center and other things but we go there for the beautiful views. There is a cruise ship terminal and you might see a ship docked there. You can see north and west Vancouver. There is port nearby that you can see ships being unloaded. There are benches around and the walk is beautiful by the water. The views of the city during daylight and at night are amazing. There are restaurants if you need to eat.

Kitsilano Beach, also known as "Kits Beach," is a popular urban beach located in the trendy neighborhood of Kitsilano in Vancouver. It offers sandy shores, a playground, volleyball courts, and a large saltwater pool. The beach provides white-sand access to the ocean, along with amenities such as washroom and changeroom facilities, concessions, and lifeguards during the summer months.
Beautiful sandy beach perfect for spending an evening and watching the sunset. Can get crowded during peak hours, weekends, and holidays, but is still enjoyable. Occasionally there are vendors here.

Nice beach, crowded during weekends in summer. Can be noisy with people that don't respect the noise by-law. Great if you like the crowd and noise like in Mexico beaches. Beautiful sunsets.
K. A — Google review
Kitsilano Beach is one of Vancouver’s most popular waterfront destinations. On sunny weekends, it fills up with both locals and visitors eager to enjoy everything it has to offer. It’s not just a place for a relaxing walk—many people come here to swim, surf, play beach volleyball, ride bikes, play tennis or basketball, jog, or simply enjoy the outdoors. There are several parking areas along the beach, and if you’d like to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the nearby rental stations. Picnic tables are available in various spots, so you’re welcome to bring your own food and enjoy a meal by the sea. There are also playgrounds for children and outdoor showers for rinsing off after a swim. Public restrooms are available for convenience. There are multiple ways to get to Kitsilano Beach, but let me share my own route—it’s quite simple. First, take the Canada Line to Olympic Village Station. Just outside the station, catch the #84 bus. Depending on traffic, the ride takes about 10–15 minutes. Get off at Yew Street. From there, walk straight down Yew Street—don’t turn anywhere—and it will lead you directly to Kitsilano Beach. A small tip: Even if it’s sunny, it can get windy at times, so bringing a light jacket might be a good idea.

Don’t be like us who didn’t see that you had to pay for parking. We didn’t see the sign and ran straight to the beach as soon as parked our car lol. It was worth it tho ($69 parking ticket). We loved it here, there is a basketball court and plenty of volleyball nets to play with. Sunset view is so nice, we sat on one of the logs scattered all over the beach. Would definitely come back and will pay for parking next time haha

Kitsilano Beach or as the locals call it "Kits Beach," is one of Vancouver’s most popular spots - and for good reason. The beach offers beautiful views of the mountains and downtown skyline, making it a great place to relax, watch the sunset, or go for a walk. The vibe is always lively, especially in the summer - lots of locals playing volleyball, jogging, picnicking, or just soaking up the sun. There’s a grassy area for lounging, a great walking path, bike path, and even an outdoor pool nearby. Restrooms are clean and have running water. One of the best spots in the city for people-watching, chilling, and enjoying nature with urban energy.
Aplih A — Google review
A popular waterfront beach near Vancouver. Great spot to chill, but try to avoid the busy season as it can be grossly busy. Dawn and dusk are the best times for the vibe. Midday...maybe, but real beach goers know it's dawn and dusk that are It. Pleasant sounds from the water, great breeze. Be mindful of any potential warnings of water quality.
Theos — Google review
A lovely stretch of golden sand that calm (but very cold water), lapping the shore, the beach area is very popular with locals, sun baking, and playing beach volley ball.
V H — Google review
Beautiful views, neat and clean, pleasant place to visit. Be considerate to enjoy and leave it clean. Lots of Canada Geese groups can be seen at close quarters, but be careful to maintain safe distance so as not to annoy them, they are capable of causing consideble annoyence in return. And in the last, quite picturesque place especially when sunny, so do remember to carry your heavier camera in place of clicking through phone only. You will be handsomely rewarded.

The Richmond Night Market is a must-visit for an incredible food experience. Established in 2000, it has become one of the largest North American night market festivals. The market offers a wide variety of innovative, Asian-inspired fusion foods that are perfect for capturing jaw-dropping Instagram shots.
I went to the Richmond Night Market for the first time (I am from US) and it was a great experience!! It is way better than night markets in the states. The only long line was to get inside. Once we were in, we waited no longer than 5 minutes in a line and the food came out really quick! It’s so much cheaper than US food festivals as well so we were able to try a bunch of different things for a good price. I would 100% come again. It was well worth the drive.
Christina L — Google review
Would I call it an overpriced tourist attraction? Yes. But if you can look past the cost, it’s a fun experience. There are plenty of food stalls, and while not everything is worth trying, you can always check reviews to see what stands out. It’s more enjoyable to go with a group so you can try more items. Personally, my favorites were the Lamb Noodles from Chef James Co, the Pork Dumplings from Momo's, and the Mango Paradise from Taco Nori Sushi Tacos. The Coconut in a Cup from One Coconut was just okay. As for the Deep-Fried Squid from Squid Feast and the Spot Prawns from Ocean Sweets, BBQ Squid Mix from Lao Er BBQ Squid, they tasted mid. Beyond food, they also have shops and games. I don’t think it’s worth spending money outside of food, but it’s worth a look.

This was my first time at the Richmond Night Market, and it was such a fun experience! I already expected the food to be pricey, so definitely bring plenty of cash. There’s a huge variety of food—mostly Asian cuisine, but we also found a great Mexican food stand. Tons of carnival-style games to try too! Admission is $7 CAD per person, or you can get a fast pass for $35 that covers 5 people. If you don’t have a group for the fast pass, I’d recommend going early to avoid the long lines. They even have a zip line, although it wasn’t open during our visit. Overall, a lively place to eat, play, and explore!
Thu L — Google review
food was really good, much better than expected! stinky tofu was authentic, tasted almost similar to the ones in changsha. fried squid was amazing, so tender and crispy, the people really gave a lot for the size small portion. mango sticky rice was also my favourite! however, the price is just way too high, these would normally be sold at a third/half the price. on top of that, admission fee is pricey, which makes you want to spend more in the night market to get your money’s worth… fun experience but probably wouldn’t go back because of the prices!!
Grace — Google review
Weapons and family time? No thank you. You have to pay to get in, and once you’re in you’re faced with overpriced street food, overpriced carnival games, cash-only sales AND high caliber weapons sold in the open, right in the middle of the park. There is something really strange about a market (night or day) that promotes friendly family time with children games and arcades and at the same time allows the sale of assault rifles and semi-automatic guns under a tent right in the middle of everything. We were left wondering what audience is this park really trying to attract? They have a zip line (overpriced as everything else on the park) which at least makes it “fun” for kids to watch and young adults to enjoy, and then they have bouncy houses literally aimed at kids, and they also have carnival games (also overpriced) which you may argue are for all ages, so that’s fine, but who are the high caliber weapon sales for? Are those also cash-only? I wouldn’t know because it made us so uncomfortable, we left in less than an hour. Sketchy place. Management really needs to decide what image they want to have and what audience they’re trying to reach. You can’t attract families and friends enjoying some wholesome time together or young couples on a date, and at the same time attract those who are in the market for a high-caliber weapon sold at night potentially on the down-low in a makeshift market by an industrial zone. That’s just weird.
Percy — Google review
Honestly, I always enjoy RNM. Been going for years and it's really what you make of it. Entrance is $5, parking is massive and FREE, the food can be a bit pricey - but the variety is there and it's food I wouldn't have normally nor regularly. You go to try new things and just have fun with the food pallet. Go with a sociable/curious group of friends or partner, go have a good time, try some interesting food, buy some cute trinkets and take some cute photos. Buen Provecho! :) *Bring cash - they have multiple ATMS... but save yourself the fee*

I’m sad it took me 3 trips to Vancouver to finally go to the Richmond Night Market. It was quite a long line to get in at 1900, but it only helped my appetite. We got a free lobster hat upon entrance which delighted my niece. We ate at several different stalls. My favorite was the toasted mochi and the mango sticky rice!
Nichelle S — Google review
The admission ticket was really overpriced considering the limited variety of activities and performance offered. The experience was mainly lining up for expensive vendor food. I strongly recommend the organizer introduce more diverse activities and organize more performance shows featuring local artists to make the ticket price worth to purchase. A significant concern is the infrastructure in most areas at the night market including parking lot are unpaved with rocks and posing a considerable chance of muddy conditions during rainy days. Furthermore, the lack of tents or shelters for eating areas was another major inconvenience for families and friends to enjoy food.

Sun Yat-Sen Park, located in Vancouver's historic Chinatown, is a serene urban oasis that aims to connect Chinese and Western cultures. It is home to the first full-scale classical Chinese garden built outside of China. The park features beautiful architecture, well-maintained gardens, and rich cultural history. Visitors can enjoy complimentary Chinese tea while exploring the tranquil surroundings.
The entrance to this park is free, is an easy walk and full of birds, such a nice place into the big city, you can find mallards and when the water is not frozen some koi.

Beautiful park right next door to the paid gardens. The staff from the paid gardens explained that they were designed to look like a continuation but unlike the paid gardens which had all the stones imported from Suzhou China the stones from the public park are from BC.

A delightful Chinese garden tucked away behind modern buildings, it is a hidden treasure that is well worth going to see if you are in the Chinatown area. It is very well laid out and maintained. ♿ There is easy access to the entrance via ramps and inside the garden there is a viewing platform. The paths are gravel but most of the garden is accessible by wheelchair. Highly recommended!

The stunning beauty was in stark contrast to the state of the city immediately surrounding it. A peaceful and refreshing oasis. This free park is directly adjacent to the paid classical garden. There isn't a walking path directly between the park and garden, but they aren't entirely separate either. You can see across the pond into the garden from the park and vice-versa.

The Sun Yat-Sen Park and beautiful Chinese Garden is located in Chinatown, Vancouver. Apparently the garden is an authentic representation of Ming Dynasty era tradition and the first such outside China. The garden has winding paths, rocks, plants etc. with gives very tranquil vibes. We absolutely loved it.

Very beautiful Chinese garden, if you stay for awhile and look at the pond you’ll find a turtle (I accidentally spooked him, so he hid) It’s such a beautiful place for a not so great area unfortunately, but still worth the visit. I did the free version of this and glad I did because there’s so much you can see without paying!

Super chill place. Very calming. $16 for an adult entrance isn't bad. Staff are really knowledgeable. Complimentary Chinese tea on every wall through. Neat garden located in the heart of the Vancouver downtown east side. You'll most likely have some encounter or run in with the homeless community in the area, so go during the day, go with friends or family, and don't leave anything exposed in your vehicle when you park.

Beautiful and dated at once. It feels like a university library and has many areas where to work quietly. The children's library is undergoing a massive renovation, but you can still borrow children's books and attend events and workshops. An old-fashioned cardex can still be consulted. And there are information boards throughout the library for different communities.

Spanish Banks Beach is a bustling sandy beach that offers tidal flats for skimboarders and kitesurfers, as well as volleyball courts. It's quieter than other nearby beaches due to its residential location, making it an optimal place for picnics with unreal views over the water and city skyline. The Seawall stretches along the long beach, providing an ideal setting for a quiet stroll with seagulls and sailboats in the backdrop.
Large beach spot, doesn’t usually get too busy. Can always find a spot to seat even on a hot weekend in the summer. This beach does get significantly more windy than kits, so if it’s not very hot could be a bit chilly. The bigger challenge with this beach is finding parking at peak hours in the weekend, would recommend to get here before 11AM to find a spot. This beach is not as transit accessible at Kits, it’s a much longer walk from the nearest bus stop. There are good washrooms and multiple concession stands on this stretch of beach. This is a popular spot for volleyball and families. You have a very 180 degree view on this beach, can see downtown Vancouver and all the mountains across the water. Highly would recommend if you have a car. Parking near the beach is max 2 hours and pricing is pretty reasonable.

One of the neater beaches I've been to. There's sand and rocky sections, eastwards and westwards, respectfully. Perfect spot to relax and hear the ebbs of the tide at dawn and dusk. Spanish Banks stretches quite far, directly with Point Grey Beach. Great walking space as well. If you opt to sit on the large rocks, move slowly. They can be loose enough that the weight of a person can make them shift or completely roll. Mind your steps.

A comprehensive review for dog owners, cyclists, walkers, and parents! Pacific Spirit Park is an oasis within our city. DOG OWNERS: this is heaven on earth for dogs! There are many off leash trails to choose from, all of them are clearly marked at the junction points. Please note that Park Rangers frequent the off leash trails because your dog must be under your complete control when off leash; meaning they have no aggression issues and have excellent recall. I have seen fines issued to pup parents who should not have had their pups off leash, they are steep! For dog owners with pups that don’t have good recall, or have anxiety/aggression issues: there are many leashed trails to choose from and these are the safest for your pup and for all the dogs enjoying the park. If you are working on off leash manners or recall with your pup who is anxious/aggressive I would highly consider you choose to muzzle them for their safety and for the safety of everyone else. I have personally witnessed several dog attacks within the park, where the dog parent of the anxious/aggressive dog never thought their dog would take it as far as an attack; but this park has a lot of foot traffic, a lot of dogs and it’s a lot of stimulation for a dog who’s trying to work through these issues. CYCLISTS: this is NOT the park for you if you want to feel like you’re mountain biking. ALL of the cycling trails are shared with dogs and pedestrians. I have witnessed a cyclist who was going way too fast for this environment and took out a toddler stumbling along the path. It was horrible to witness and awful for both the parents of the very hurt child and for the cyclist who felt embarrassed at how insanely fast they were going. I have also seen cyclists going way too fast downhill and fly off their bikes because a dog appears on the path from being in the woods, again this is not the place for ‘mountain biking’ type of cycling. Having said that, it is a great place to take your children or enjoy the park yourself for a beautiful scenic ride. There are many trails that bikes are allowed on and they all connect to main roadways so no dismounting is needed. WALKERS: this is probably one of the most beautiful parks to walk through. Some of the trails are breathtaking in all seasons. If you are someone who is afraid of dogs: stick to the leashed paths. If dogs make you scream, jump, hide behind trees, or people, the off leash trails are not for you. This behaviour is not fair to anyone trying to have a nice relaxing walk with their pup who is behaving perfectly normal, but are simply just walking past you. WALKERS WITH MOBILITY ISSUES: there are many paths in the park that have rough terrain, tree roots sticking out, plus dogs who are off leash either running or walking with their owners. If you are someone who needs assistance when walking, it is safest to stick to the Powerline Trail. It is nice and wide, tightly packed with gravel and has fences on both sides for extra assistance. PARENTS: this is something so magical to share with your children within Vancouver. However, on a busy sunny day it can be packed. If your children are not used to animals, stick to the leashed trails. Dogs are curious creatures by nature and will approach to smell, especially small children, it’s completely normal behaviour and they keep walking after but having a screaming parent run towards their child ‘fearing for their life’ is not conducive to a peaceful environment. If you are trying to expose your children to dogs, this is the place to do it! I have had countless lovely experiences with parents who ask if my dog is friendly enough for their child/toddler to approach (he is the gentlest dog ever) and they have had an opportunity to pet and cuddle and play with him and everyone walks away happy! This park is a MUST DO in Vancouver!

We logged close to 5 miles just in a fraction of the park - it is a huge place! Locals take full advantage of the trails for juggling, walking, with dog or on bike. It is a cool place to exercise and relax on hot summer days.

Huge park! A lot of trails in the park, mostly leash optional, and some are leash-required, and most of trails are in the shade, you can make it a long or short walk as you like! Very well maintained and well marked! My dog loved it!

I love here, the beautiful nature, toilet, picnic table, pristine and secluded beach, as well as the beginning of the Wreck Beach, and free parking lot, it's perfect for a picnic, relaxing, and walking with pets and children.

Great park in the middle of the city. Easy trail of 20 min walk to direction (there are steps in there). Than you arrive to the beautiful beach. There is a grass field for nice picnic. Highly recommended. Free parking on the street for 2 hours.

Sights & Landmarks
Lions Gate Bridge, a landmark suspension bridge in Vancouver, offers stunning city views and features a pedestrian walkway. Spanning 1,517.3 meters from Downtown to North Vancouver, the bridge stands at a height of 61 meters and provides an unobstructed vantage point for admiring sunset colors over the ocean. Accessible from Stanley Park or its North-end, visitors can explore walkways and platforms on the West-side for optimal viewing opportunities.
The suspension bridge is absolutely majestic and gives a solid, secure feeling when you walk across it. On both sides of the bridge, there are dedicated cycling paths, making it easy and enjoyable for cyclists. You can start from Prospect Point Lookout and ride your bike downhill directly to the entrance of the bridge’s bike lane, where you’ll be treated to stunning scenic views along the way.

It's been years since I drove across the Lions Gate Bridge, decades actually, but I have sailed under it several times on cruise ships departing from Vancouver. Its not high enough for some of the newer big ships, except perhaps at very low tide. Even being on a smaller ship, you can get pretty close. It can be quite beautiful as you slide by, in the right lighting. I have passed under in the afternoon, evening and at sunrise, each giving different profiles and perspectives.

Pretty decent bridge for riding across, except there are some narrow parts where you should ride single file. We witnessed someone trying to pass another rider and instead crashed into an immovable object… the bridge.

Lions Gate Bridge is an iconic symbol of Vancouver and a living monument to the Great Depression era. It opened to motor traffic on November 14, 1938 (pedestrians were allowed two days earlier). The project was financed by the Guinness family through British Pacific Properties to open up North Shore lands for development—fueling the rapid growth of West Vancouver. In 1939 King George VI’s motorcade crossed the bridge; in 1955 the province bought it, and in 1963 the toll was removed. In 2004 it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada. The south entrance is flanked by Art Deco lion statues by sculptor Charles Marega—a nod to the mountain peaks The Lions, which gave the bridge its name. The main span is about 472 m (1,548 ft), the towers ~118 m (387 ft); at its opening it was the longest suspension bridge in the British Empire. Decorative lighting for Expo ’86 was again funded by the Guinness family—another touch from the city’s benefactors Aleks recommends👍❗️

Review of Lions Gate Bridge – Vancouver’s Iconic Gateway Crossing the Lions Gate Bridge is one of the most visually stunning experiences in Vancouver. Whether heading north toward the lush slopes of Grouse Mountain and the hills of West Vancouver or south into downtown, flanked by the towering trees of Stanley Park, the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. On clear days, the green waters of Burrard Inlet shimmer on either side, making the journey feel like a postcard come to life. The bridge is more than just a crossing—it’s a moment of transition between the urban and the wild, the city and the sea. It can be enjoyed not only by vehicle but also on foot or by bike. Walking across gives you a chance to fully take in the surrounding views—just be aware that the pedestrian path is quite narrow. If a cyclist is passing, it can get tight, so caution is needed. That said, the beauty comes with a price. Traffic during rush hours can be intense, and any accident can bring things to a near standstill. In such moments, the iconic charm of the bridge can feel more like a bottleneck. Still, despite its traffic woes, Lions Gate Bridge remains one of the most scenic and symbolic landmarks in the region—a must-experience whether you are a local or a visitor.
Reza S — Google review
I took these pictures and video while I was cycling on the bridge. One point about this bridge for cyclists and walkers is that the lane from north side of the bridge to the south has more uphill than the other side. Only when walking on the bridge you can see the magnificence of engineering.

Very beautiful bridge ! The Lions Gate Bridge, opened in 1938 and officially known as the First Narrows Bridge, is a suspension bridge that crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet and connects the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, to the North Shore municipalities of the District of North Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, and West Vancouver. The term "Lions Gate" refers to the Lions, a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver. Northbound traffic on the bridge heads in their general direction. A pair of cast concrete lions, designed by sculptor Charles Marega, were placed on either side of the south approach to the bridge in January 1939.

VanDusen Botanical Garden, established in 1975 on a former golf course, is situated across 55 acres in Vancouver's Shaughnessy neighborhood. The garden showcases over 7,500 plants and trees from seven different geographic regions. It features diverse greenery, flowers, art installations, a meditation garden, an Elizabethan maze, and cascading streams that create a serene atmosphere.
What a great place ! I didn't know what to expect after I've done several gardens in different cities but this was definitely an amazing one. It's bid enough for you to wander for a couple of hours, it has a restaurant, a café and you can even bring your own picnic basket or buy one there so you can enjoy a sunny afternoon with family or friends. The garden is very well maintained with different zones representing different countries and continents, I love that it reminded some of the plants I've seen during my travels. Overall I'd highly recommend paying them a visit!

What a fabulous place to visit. It was my last day in Canada with a late night flight. My friend suggested visiting these beautiful Botanical Gardens. Sadly, not visited by many tourists as it is off their transport routes, when you are restricted to time and transportation. The gardens were easy to find and good parking. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Toilets were clean and tidy. There is a cafe and restaurant on site. We only visited the cafe which is very good, with seating inside and out. A map is ideal for finding your way around the gardens. Laid out in zones and clearly marked, they are stunning. Fantastic variety of plants, trees and shrubs, plus water features. Sadly, due to flight times, we were only able to spend about 4 hours there, I could have spent much longer. Well worth the visit and allow yourself time, you need it.

The botanical garden is an absolute gem that feels like a peaceful escape from the city. Every corner is beautifully designed and filled with vibrant colors, from lush green trees to carefully arranged flowerbeds that change with the seasons. The air feels fresh and clean, and the gentle sound of birds and rustling leaves creates a calming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. The walking paths are well maintained, and there are plenty of benches where you can sit, relax, and simply enjoy nature. The greenhouse with exotic plants is especially impressive, offering a glimpse of tropical beauty even on a rainy day. What makes this garden truly special is the sense of care and attention to detail. Everything is arranged with love, from the layout of the plants to the small educational signs that tell interesting facts about each species. It is a perfect place for a quiet walk, a family outing, or simply to clear your mind and reconnect with nature.

First time in twenty years we visited the gardens again. We got the hours wrong and only had 30 minutes inside, but even that little amount of time was worth the entrance fee. This garden is amazing for fall colors and serenity. We will add it to our list of return places to go when in Vancouver. I only wish I would have gotten the hours right as I would have loved to spend half a day here.

VanDusen Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Vancouver. The gardens are huge, well-designed, and full of amazing plants, flowers, and trees from around the world. Every season has its own charm – colorful blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, vibrant fall leaves, and the magical Festival of Lights in winter. The walking paths are clean and easy to follow, perfect for a relaxing stroll or some great photos. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s also a nice little café and gift shop. If you’re looking for a quiet escape from the city with stunning scenery, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

If you are in need of a break from your busy life , this is the place. Beautiful gardens , wonderful lakes with beautiful fountains gently rippling the waters surface and if you are lucky like us you will see the Heron catch a fish. Just peace and tranquility. Wonderful manicured lawns , planted beds full of summer colour , fountains, grassy knolls and a restaurant. Four hours of bliss. A good walk round , plenty of labels to help identification, but not too far to ealk. You are never far from the path or the exit. Good coffee lovely herb and cheese scones too. A children's learning area and two restaurants complete the park. However the flowers and shrubs are the winners in my eyes. Endless colours , all beautifully planted to show their best sides. I could go back tomorrow and see something different . We'll done to the staff and the volunteers if I lived nearby I would like to volunteer too. Sorry about my feet in the video .

Calm, quiet, and full of life. This garden is a year-round escape into nature’s beauty. Beautiful flower and very casual walk around. Great variety of trees and plants. With the shaugnessy restarant next door, it makes for a nice place to spend several hours and wander. Parking is free and it fees uncrowded even during busy times. Plenty of benches everywhere. Be advised during summer camp weeks the maze may be filled with lots of small kids who tear though it with high spirits and lots of excitement.

English Bay. A fantastic view of the bay, the Pacific ocean, and False Creek with recreational boats moored and going back and forth along with ship / freighters waiting to load and unload. What a view at anytime of the day but especially spectacular as the sun sets. Added to this is the delicious ice cream served on the beach by: "Rain Of Shine ICE CREAM" Great ice cream, great crew!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown Vancouver, the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike. Opened in 2008, this gallery pays homage to the legendary Bill Reid, a master Haida artist whose remarkable sculptures and carvings have left an indelible mark on Canadian art.
This was an incredible museum! I had a great time learning about Bill Reid’s work. It was so inspiring! They had two levels with displays of art work. The day I went there, there was some work going on at the lower level and half of it was closed. So the tickets were lower-price tickets that day. I spent around 3 hours in total at this place to check out everything they had. I learnt a lot about different Haida stories through the artwork. On the second level, they show a half an hour movie of how a red cedar tree is transformed into a beautiful totem pole. They also have a space to read and sit and relax.

The Bill Reid Gallery is a cultural treasure in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The space is beautifully curated, showcasing the incredible artistry and legacy of Bill Reid along with works from other contemporary Indigenous artists. Each piece tells a story, and the gallery does an excellent job of providing context that deepens appreciation for the art and the traditions it represents. The atmosphere is calm and reflective, making it easy to slow down and really take in the details. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged, blending timeless pieces with modern interpretations, and the quality of the curation truly stands out. Staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions, which adds to the overall experience.

This is an amazing gallery. They have such great exhibits here. I only wish they had more space to show off the incredible Indigenous talent.

This place is incredible. The art just blows your mind with the beauty and quality. The admission price is cheap but the exhibits are priceless. Such a small price to pay to see such beautiful artwork. Bill Reid Gallery has to be in the top three things to do in Vancouver.

Stunning art gallery with a very cute gift shop. The art work is stunning and very educational for all ages.
Alice Z — Google review
Small but powerful. The space is intimate, which lets you really focus on the details of Reid’s work and the broader Indigenous art showcased. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the rotating exhibits often highlight emerging artists. Downsides? It’s compact—don’t expect to spend more than an hour—and the gift shop feels pricey. Still, it’s a meaningful stop if you’re into Haida art or want a quieter cultural experience downtown.

The Museum of Vancouver, located in Vanier Park between Kitsilano Beach and Granville Island, offers a fascinating exploration of the city's history and issues. With a strong collection of First Nations art and artifacts, this independent, non-profit organization aims to deepen understanding through stories and shared experiences. Catering to sub-teens and teens, the museum provides insight into early Vancouver history, from its First Nations past to the neon light phase of the 1950s.
I visited the Museum of Vancouver and really enjoyed it! The exhibits were interesting, well-designed, and full of local history and culture. That said, I was expecting something a bit larger - I thought I’d spend half a day there, but in reality, it took me about 2 hours to see everything. Right next to the museum, there’s also the Maritime Museum, which could be a nice addition to your visit. After that, you can take the ferry to Granville Island - a great place to explore the public market and local restaurants, browse shops with handmade goods. Overall, a lovely and educational stop, just be prepared for a shorter visit than you might expect.

Interesting local museum! Lived in the lower mainland my whole life but visited for the first time as it was included with a book talk I attended. Really enjoyed it and learned many valuable things. I had visited previously as the price seemed a little steep for the size of the museum. However, it’s well curated and has some growing and meaningful Indigenous exhibits, which was great to see.

My Dad and I enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Vancouver. We learned so much about the history of the indigenous people of the area and the history of the city of Vancouver and the people that built and make up this vibrant city. The museum itself is laid out in a logical manner between the galleries and is accessible. The galleries are well researched and organized. The art and photographs displayed definitely are great points of references to learn more and understand better the city of Vancouver. This is an excellent museum for an visitor to Vancouver to explore!

The Museum of Vancouver is a hidden gem that brings the city’s past, present, and future to life. What makes this museum stand out is how it connects local stories to broader social and cultural movements. It’s a peaceful and enriching stop, perfect to pair with a visit to the Space Centre.

A museum dedicated to the history and lifestyle of Vancouver city, it houses the items from yesteryears in chronically arranged way to give a peek of way of living in city through the periods. Entertaining and informative, recomoneded for choldrens and adults alike. There are vending machines downstairs but during my visit, none of them worked, taking payment but not dispensing and returning the amount. The desk was also not helpful in resolution, telling that if the item is not dispensed, the amount will surely refunded. There are no eateries around, nearest being 10~15 mins walk, so prepare accordingly. Also nearest public transport stops are 12 mins away. Parking is easy though. Washrooms are conveniently located and usable.
Basant S — Google review
Good local history museum, with special exhibits on rotation (we were there for a "chairs" exhibit). Perhaps a touch pricey for the duration of the stay (this tipped me from 5 stars to 4), but we enjoyed it all the same.
Brian B — Google review
My favourite exhibits (1900s-20s gateway to the Pacific; 1930s-40s boom, bust, and war; 1950s the fifties gallery) are, unfortunately, rarely - if ever - updated... understandably so. But that also makes subsequent visits to this museum difficult to justify. These spaces are also incredibly small, compared to other museums (especially, in the international arena). I adore museums, but I cannot say this is one that is worthwhile for people visiting Vancouver. Though, it can be meaningful if you live in Vancouver, just to gain an appreciation of our history. (I do not think the grumpy woman at admissions helped our most recent visit - she seemed far more concerned about getting off work in 30 minutes.)

Second hand store
Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, the Vancouver Flea Market, affectionately known as the Big Red Barn by locals, is a treasure trove for those who love to hunt for unique finds. Spanning over 40,000 square feet and accommodating up to 4,000 visitors at once, this bustling market is a weekend haven for thrift shoppers and antique enthusiasts alike.
Been going since 1999. A Vancouver CLASSIC. Make sure you go with a minimum of 2 hours. You really need to take it all in and have a good look. Sensory overload will occur. There is a lot going on. Bring cash for admission. Coins.

Parking is crappy and limited AND costs money. $2 to enter the market which is reasonable by today’s standards. Many happy vendors! Some are grumpy, some struggle with communication. You can rent your own table and apparently bring whatever you like to sell. Cash is king but other methods of pay is accepted by SOME vendors. Kind of dank and smelly. Some of the booths look like chaotic sidewalk junk sales. Dig the pictures.

I can’t believe I got scammed here too, after already getting ripped off on Facebook Marketplace. I honestly can’t believe I fell for it again. I bought two power banks and a couple of wall plugs labeled as “20,000 mAh” and “fast charging,” but every single one turned out to be fake. The sellers make up prices on the spot, and of course no refunds. I really wish they’d post clear prices and sell verified products. I get that it’s a flea market, so expectations should be low, but it’s frustrating that so many sellers are just out to get as much money as they can. They literally adjust their prices based on how you talk, how you look, or how “educated” you sound. The same items are on Amazon for less or about the same price at least those are real, even if you have to wait a few days. To top it off, I bought a plain black hat for $10, and the guy tried to convince me it was worth $98 and “impossible to find anywhere else.” What kind of nonsense is that? Oh, and you even have to pay a $2 entry fee just to get in.

An interesting market. Has been a fixture on Terminal Avenue for decades. We recently came with our grandsons; they wanted to check out a few things. The place was not crowded. You can find clothes, shoes, furniture, antiques, old records and books and whatever one can sell secondhand. You have to bargain here. Know the quality, otherwise won’t know if it was worth the money. We looked around for a bit. And enjoyed our outing. There is lots of street parking for very reasonable price.

The Shipyards Night Market is more than just a market – it’s an unmissable vibe! This place is bursting with life, and endless things to explore—an absolute must-visit. From the moment you arrive, the energy is contagious. The vibe here is just on a different level. It’s a beautiful place with so much diversity in offering that no matter what your taste is, you will find something you like. The vibrant mix of vendors offers everything from unique clothing, handmade jewellery, and vintage finds to delicious street food from all over the world. The atmosphere is always buzzing with energy. Very vibrant night life market. The Shipyards Night Market was the ultimate summer hangout—come hungry and leave with a camera full of memories! The atmosphere is buzzing with energy. The food scene? Absolutely fire. The street food here is next level…you’ll for sure find something to satisfy your taste buds. This Pineapple drink from Island Husk was served inside a whole pineapple for a next level refreshment! The pineapple juice they gave me in a cup was also so refreshing and perfect for summer. The Greek food from The Mad Greek was on point, so much flavour in every bite. The tornado potato was such a fun and crispy snack! I ate a scrumptious burger from Odd Burger. The hot dog from J’s Disco Dogs was downright delicious and I loved the mouthwatering pretzel from Mr. Pretzel. The gelato from Life is Sweet Confections had a super rich flavour and is incredibly creamy. And the food didn’t end there…I loved the sweet & juicy corn on the cob from Roasted Revolution. The kettle corn from Garys Kettle Corn was super addicting and super delicious! I couldn’t resist the samosa from Chai Wagon. I had to wash everything down with the fruit smoothie from Grub Truck. This place is more than a market—it’s a full-on summer night adventure with food, fun, and live music. There’s something happening on every corner: music, art, fashion, and most importantly—food! Add in the live music, and friendly atmosphere, and you’ve got a place that stays in your memory. Shipyards Night Market is a vibrant and eclectic spot with endless street food options, unique little shops, and personalized items you won’t find anywhere else. Shipyards Night Market is an absolute gem! The energy is unmatched, making it the perfect place to explore, eat, and soak in the vibrant market vibes.

Shipyards Night Market is a lively and fun spot to spend an evening, especially during the summer. The variety of food trucks is amazing — you can try everything from local favorites to international flavors, and the quality of food is generally excellent. Live music and entertainment add a great atmosphere, making it a perfect place to hang out with friends or family. Service from vendors is usually quick and friendly (food and service both feel like 5/5). The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that the area gets extremely crowded at peak hours, and parking can be a challenge. Still, the energy, food, and vibe make it worth visiting again and again.

Attended the first Shipyards Christmas Market and it was stunning. Such an awesome addition to the lower mainland. Booths were spaced out and crowds were not too crazy. Tons of free samples and friendly sellers who had genuinely interesting products to see. Mulled wine, apple cider, and bratwurst was all cooked over an open fire in cauldrons which took the atmosphere to the next level. Very affordable compared to other holiday attractions in the city. Parking was accessible but pricey but the seabus is right there and very accessible.

I love it! The night life is amazing, live bands, beer gardens, lots of amazing vendors, different delicious food trucks. Amazing sunset at night..

It's a perfect plaza for summer night. The night market runs every Friday night in the summer. There are a live band stage, beer garden, lots of food trucks, vendors and many more. If you never been to this night market, you should go. The ambience, vibe and the water views will not disappointed you. The whole area are good for all ages. There are also a big splash park for kids in day time. Lots of seat around this splash park. The vendors are including fresh made pop corns and cotton candy. If you don't like the food truck, there are many good restaurants in this area. A perfect plaza for a walk or just relaxing there. The sunset view and downtown view are marvellous.

Christmas market is free entry, bring money because the vendors are expensive. The sunset view is spectacular!! Music on the main stage. My favorite food vendor so far is the chicken and hot dogs. Cotton candy is cheap and really good!

Free admission and a huge variety of food can be found. The Christmas market includes vendors in wonderful cedar huts. Ice skating, live music, add a great vibe and the overall setting is beautiful with views south to downtown Vancouver

Robson Square, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, is a vibrant public plaza that serves as the city's social hub. Surrounded by office towers and notable landmarks like the Vancouver Art Gallery and Provincial Law Courts, it offers a unique blend of urban life and natural beauty. The square hosts various art installations, impromptu performances, and public events throughout the year. In winter, visitors can enjoy affordable ice-skating at the free rink behind the Vancouver Art Gallery.
I recently attended a conference at Robson Square, located within the UBC Robson Square premises in downtown Vancouver, and I was thoroughly impressed with the venue. The building is a true architectural gem, featuring a sleek, modern design combined with stunning open spaces. The location itself is perfect — centrally situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver, making it easily accessible for attendees. The facilities are top-notch, with spacious conference rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The environment is both professional and welcoming, offering a productive atmosphere for events of all sizes. One of the highlights for me was the natural light that floods the building, giving it a bright and airy feel, which makes a big difference for long conference days. Additionally, Robson Square’s proximity to nearby shops, restaurants, and attractions is a major plus for attendees looking to explore during breaks. The building also features a beautiful outdoor plaza, which is perfect for enjoying the views or taking a walk around the vibrant city center. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Robson Square and would highly recommend it as a conference venue. The location, facilities, and atmosphere made for a fantastic event. I look forward to attending another event here in the future!

Very interesting art. It was misting (I know...big surprise) so it was not busy. I was fascinated by the stairs and the ramp integrated. There was a market setting up on Saturday but we didn't stay for it. The vendors looked like they had great products.

Nice place to go around and walk if you are in Vancouver. There are many food trucks, Sauzzi Thai, Mr. shawarma, burgers, and some small handcrafted stations. There are many local/outside artists who come and performance in this place. Excellent to social, eat, chill out with friends all the year around! You have some Public washrooms close in any emergency and if not pacific centre!!

What a lovely place to witness Vancouverites doing their thing! I came as a tourist from Toronto and just sat here for a quarter of an hour in the evening just people watching. There was this incredibly talented man busking away with his electric guitar, his music permeating the air. 100/10 experience!

Robson Square is right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, which is metaphoricaly exactly where it belongs. Robson Square sits between the Provincial Court House and the Vancouver Art Gallery.  The space has multiple levels, mulitiple water falls, and a surprising amount of greenery in the overall design.  Basically it’s an urban park with stunning architecture. The biggest feature of Robson Square is it’s reputation as the go-to place for every protest or public demonstration in Vancouver.  Everyone in Vancouver gathers here, or on the North Plaza in front of the Art Gallery, and vents their frustrations with the world.  Which is a very important aspect of a healthy democracy.  I didn’t include any pictures of the protests, but the fact that Robson Square plays this role in Vancouver makes it one of the most important spaces in Vancouver.  People need a public place to express themselves and for Vancouver it’s Robson Square and the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery. I’ve actually never been inside the Vancouver Art Gallery but the building is quite beautiful and what it represents is very important.  Culture is built with creativity and the Vancouver Art Gallery is a great metaphor for this fact.  If you want your city to have culture, you need to have a vibrant art scene. Lots of artists and entrepreneurs come to Robson Square to sell their wares, play their music, take pictures, make videos, etc.  Having this free public location for artists to practice their craft is very important because real estate in Vancouver is very expensive.  There’s also a skating rink on the lower floor that doubles as a multi-functional space in the summer months for things like dancing.  There’s lots of dancing and music in Robson Square. On the quieter days Robson Square is also a good place to go just to sit and have your lunch or read a book.  There are many nooks and crannies to be found in Robson Square that you can find to just get away from it all.  Especially if you’re willing to climb the stairs that lead up to the Court House.  The view from up there is quite nice.  Especially at night, when all the lights of the city come on. I’ve taken about a million pictures of Robson Square and the ones I included here are just a few I took lately.  It’s an amazing space to be in if you’re a street photographer.  Ultimately, Robson Square is about people.  This is what makes the space come alive.  It was built for people, not trees or water or architecture.  If you want to celebrate people, come and visist Robson Square.  They are the biggest attraction that it has to offer.

Amazing & highly acceptable in terms of it's association with wide expanse of water of the Vancouver harbour, opposite to which are the long linease of beautiful buildings, greeneries of Stanley Park, flying sea planes, moving watercrafts, Longsdale Quay provides an ambience of harmony with nature & modernity in an atmosphere of music, inducing visitors to being resonated to, while creating a merry-go-round state and finding themselves to follow care-free-but-disciplined approach - being stripped-of-hasseles-of-reality - people being engaged in eating, drinking & enjoying the unforgetables in the North Vancouver island of B. The Vancouver Seawall is a picturesque 14 to 17.5-mile waterfront path that winds through the heart of the city, including Stanley Park and various neighborhoods, parks, and beaches like Kitsilano Beach Park and Coal Harbor. It's perfect for couples looking for a scenic stroll or bike ride with plenty of opportunities to relax at nearby restaurants. This stone wall not only prevents erosion but also provides an uninterrupted pathway for walking, jogging, cycling, and skating along Vancouver's stunning natural landscape.
It doesn't matter if you are a tourist or a local for many years, going to the seawall for a walk, run or ride is always a nice experience. One of the best views of downtown, surrounded by nature and with good structure (available washrooms, some benches to relax and enjoy the view, parking lots, etc). I reccomend that you do the entirety of the seawall by bike at least once so that you can enjoy the different views and places, like downtown, north van, the mountains and the beaches.

Trail Series, Part 40 Running was never meant to be easy, so many runners choose a phrase to help motivate them. Some of my favorites include: “No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch”; “I don’t run to add days to my life, I run to add life to my days”; “The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start”; “My sport is your sport’s punishment”; “This isn’t sweat, it’s liquid awesome”; and “Do it for the post-run snack”. It was during a recent run along the Stanley Park Seawall Path in Vancouver, Canada, that I discovered a different motivational technique. Rather than repeating a single phrase to keep you going, how about excitedly striding from one motivational expression to another? You see as this trail winds itself around magnificent Stanley Park, it is replete with benches adorned with a seemingly endless number of deeply personal plaques that broadcast both remembrances and some pretty keen life advice. I stopped more than 150 times during my run and I’d estimate that I photographed only 50% of the benches that are available to enjoy. 🤯 My favorite plaques include: “What a beautiful difference one single life made”; “To the world you were just one, to me you were the world” 🥹; “She lived for those she loved, and those she loved remember”; “How small a part of time we share”; “People and places have touched me so, left a mark on my mind, heart & soul. Thank you Lord, it’s been a great ride”; “Loving Masterchef who taught how to savor the flavors of life”; and “Just a Godly man who so loved his four wonderful daughters”. This outstanding trail is approximately 6 miles long, flat, and entirely paved. It features numerous dramatic curves that create excitement to discover what might be revealed just around each corner. Those with mobility issues will find it extremely accommodating and a separate lane for cyclists creates a safe path for all outdoor enthusiasts. It is well traveled during the day, and although the buddy system is always recommended, it isn’t necessary in this instance. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #trailseries #stanleyparkseawallpath

This is the spot highly recommended to get the best downtown Vancouver skyline views from. The spot is easily accessible by foot, on bicycle, or by driving on a vehicle. The views both at sunrise, during the day, and at sunset are really worth the visit. There are quite a few other landmarks and attractions on this side of the Stanley Park as compared to the other side. A paid parking lot is close by, while on foot this point is barely a 15 minute walk from the closest bus stop. A must visit spot whenever in downtown Vancouver.

I suggest biking the full loop at least once to take in the diverse views—cityscape, North Shore mountains, ocean, and beaches all in one ride.

Granville Island Public Market is a bustling indoor market offering a wide array of gourmet food stalls, artisan boutiques, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Situated near the Plaza of Nations, visitors can conveniently access the market via Aquabus or False Creek Ferries. The market's proximity to attractions like Science World museum and transportation hubs such as Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain station makes it an ideal stop for both locals and tourists.
An iconic covered public market that is part of the tourist attractions around Vancouver city. The market has local vendors selling fresh farm produce, coffees, baked items, meat and fish, as well as some artistic works. There are also plenty of Chinese food shops. The market also has famous doughnut and coffee shops for which people are lining up. The market is quite large and can take up to an hour for browsing and shopping. The main activity around here is to get something to eat from these shops. The market can easily be accessed by car, or a more touristy way is to take the boat bus and small ferries from a lot of spots in Vancouver downtown. Highly recommend a visit to this market.

Interesting bustling market that isn’t a tourist trap. The locals love this place too. Tons of variety here, you can buy fresh fruit and veggies, fresh seafood, Italian food, German food, French food, etc. We also saw cafes, butcher shops, grocery shops, spice shops, ice cream shops, bakeries, jewelry stands, flower shops and this cool shop that only sold pickles and pickle socks! Very reasonable prices too, we bought a pepperoni stick from one stall and it was only $1.25! Perfect snack to munch on while walking around the market. They have a central food court that’s filled with unique places to eat (didn’t see a lot of chain restaurants) and lots of seating to sit down and enjoy your meal. Some notable places included a stall that sold soup/broth, another that sold Montreal smoked meat + fresh bagels, and one that sold pot pies (this one was super popular)! Worth a visit!

Gastown Steam Clock, located in Vancouver's oldest commercial district, is a well-known antique-style clock powered by steam and whistles to tell the time. Built in 1977 by Canadian clockmaker Raymond Saunders, it was intended to attract foot traffic to nearby shops and restaurants. Despite its name, the clock also has an electric motor and isn't entirely steam-powered.
This city is truly magical, filled with stunning architecture and vibrant culture. Its streets are alive with energy, showcasing a blend of history and modernity that captivates every visitor. From the charming cafes lining the bustling boulevards to the lush parks providing a serene escape, every corner holds a marvel waiting to be discovered. The sunsets cast a mesmerizing glow over the skyline, enhancing the city's already enchanting atmosphere. Overall, Vancouver is a place that leaves a lasting impression, offering an experience that is nothing short of remarkable.

Gastown is definitely one of the must-visit spots in Vancouver. It’s the city’s historic heart, with cobblestone streets, old brick buildings, and vintage street lamps that give it a unique charm. The Steam Clock is the highlight, fun to watch and a perfect photo spot. I really enjoyed just walking around, checking out the local shops, art galleries, and trying out cafes and pubs along the way. In the evening the whole place lights up beautifully, making it even more atmospheric. Great for a casual stroll, good food, and a bit of Vancouver history all in one.

Cool but of history. I think the best times are on the hour when you can hear the whole chime with the number of hours to match the time of day. The quarter chimes are cool as well but the whole chime is spectacular. There are bars you can sit at near by to get a view as well. Won't go out of my way but if you're in the area, worth a stop!

⭐ Top Tips for Visiting the Gastown Steam Clock Catch it on the quarter hour – The clock whistles and shoots steam every 15 minutes; plan your photos accordingly. Explore Gastown – Cobblestone streets, boutiques, cafes, and street art make it worth strolling around. Go early or late – Avoid crowds for better photos and a more relaxed experience. Bring a selfie stick – The clock’s exposed mechanics and brass details make for unique shots. Combine with nearby attractions – Check out Maple Tree Square, local galleries, and historic landmarks nearby.
MOHAMMAD A — Google review
The Gastown Steam Clock is a unique and charming attraction, even though it is currently under maintenance and not whistling completely. The clock still runs and plays its melody every 15 minutes, though it is running about 3 minutes early. Despite these minor issues, the clock remains a fascinating blend of old-world charm and modern engineering, drawing visitors with its steam-powered whistles and historical significance in Vancouver’s Gastown district. It’s definitely worth seeing for its uniqueness and the atmosphere it creates in the area. Keep in mind to check maintenance status before visiting to catch its full performance.
Vijay T — Google review
A tourist attraction that is centered around a unique steam powered clock in the Gas Town district of Vancouver. The clock runs entirely on steam, and although as of October 2025 the clock is under maintenance, it still plays sound every 15 minutes. Thats the real attraction around this clock and you can time your visit. There is usually a long queue of tourists trying to capture their photo in front of the clock. The neighborhood and the road itself are really nice to be around. This has to be part of your Vancouver visit itinerary.

The Gastown Steam Clock is a beautiful landmark and a must-see in Vancouver. The clock is very well maintained and offers a charming mix of architecture and live steam music. The surrounding cobblestone streets make it a perfect area to walk around and enjoy the historic atmosphere of the city. Without a doubt, it’s something you shouldn’t miss during your visit to Vancouver!

We we're in the Vancouver, British Columbia area and took the opportunity to go to Gastown. This is a nice little area of Vancouver with many shops and the famous Gastown steam clock that plays a tune every 4.5 minutes, according to the sign, and then it plays a different tune every 15 minutes. I've attached some videos and pictures of the surrounding area. Everything is very quaint, surreal, and relaxed. If it's nice outside, it's really a pleasant area to be in. I felt safe, and there are plenty of places to enjoy a beverage. Personal comment, always be aware of your surroundings, and always drink responsibly. I hope you enjoy this area as much as I did, and your experience is better is as good as mine or better.

Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, Science World is a captivating destination for families and young explorers. This iconic geodesic dome is brimming with interactive science exhibits that cater to children from toddlers to early teens. With engaging displays like the ever-changing Medieval Mayhem and the permanent Eureka! physics gallery, kids can immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences. The unique Kidspace area specifically designed for little ones aged 1-3 ensures even the youngest visitors have a place to play and discover.
Lots of fun, plenty of things to do to keep kids entertained. Could do with more hand sanitizer about the place because everyone is touching everything, but it's there if you know where to look for it. Pretty good food options too! You can get a stamp for re-entry if you'd prefer to have lunch elsewhere though.

This place was amazing 👏 So many hands on things to do. We went with an 8, 7, 6 & 3 year old, they all enjoyed a full afternoon there. Admittedly the adults also very much so enjoyed themselves. We went during the week so it wasn't busy at all, that was nice. Now we could have spent HOURS in the massive Lego area!! But I did move the children along 😆 We spent 3 hours, again when not busy that was the perfect amount of time. We've been to science museums in Winnipeg, Regina, and in the states, this so far was the best!

in the summer they have science world after dark for adults with drinks, totally worth it but it’s just few days. it’s a great museum and has something for everyone. parking is sufficient and close, and outside you have park, playground and the false creek

I went to the Cirque Masquerade Ball Halloween Party held at/in Science World. At first, I was totally amazed that such an event could be held in the Science World, based on the size of the event. However, when I attended the event, I realized how big Science World facility truly is. It was a super-amazing venue that seemingly had no difficulty whatsoever to accommodate such a big event. It is such a beautiful facility that accomodated such a large event. I enjoyed meeting several new people, that were very friendly and outgoing similar to myself. I highly recommend it as an awesome place to go to events or venues. I look forward to attending more events that might be held there.

This is an awesome place for kids! A huge amount of interesting things to see and do. Be prepared to answer thousands of questions. They have a great playground with a water area and other things to play with, appropriate for different ages. Most of the exhibited objects are interactive and can be touched and moved. We usually attend this place once a year as our kid grows, but if you live nearby, it's great to have a membership and spend more time inside.

I had always heard great things about Vancouver’s Science World, so we came with high expectations — and it did not disappoint! The exhibits are fun, interactive, and educational. My son spent the whole day exploring with endless enthusiasm. A fantastic place for families with kids — highly recommended!

Science World — the giant shiny golf ball that Vancouverites pretend is an educational hub but secretly visit just to poke buttons and spin wheels like overgrown toddlers. It’s a paradise for kids, sure — they run around with wide eyes and sticky hands, discovering the wonders of human anatomy and physics. Meanwhile, adults try to look intellectual while discreetly racing toy cars powered by wind turbines. The exhibits about the human body are fascinating — nothing like realizing how many ways your organs can betray you to make you appreciate science. Between the illusions, experiments, and the occasional “Did you know?” that makes you question your life choices, Science World is both enlightening and humbling. In short, it’s the perfect place to remind yourself that you don’t actually understand gravity as well as you thought you did.

Located in the historic West End neighborhood of Vancouver, Roedde House Museum is a beautifully restored late-Victorian home that offers guided tours depicting life at the turn of the 19th century. The museum showcases over 2,700 artifacts including furniture and clothing, some of which belonged to the Roedde family. With its eleven rooms faithfully restored to reflect the lifestyle of a middle-class immigrant family, visitors can experience the ambiance of early 20th-century Canada.
This is an amazing house museum. I have been here on the last Sunday of the month, and luckily, on the last Sunday of every month, they have tea and tour. The admission was $15, and they offered one hour long guided tour of the house museum. Ian, one of the staff there, took care of the tea 🫖 and also gave information about the house museum and answered my questions. They had two types of tea - the Bengal spice and the earl gray (house special). Both of them are so tasty! I had one cup of each. They had some wafers and cookies which were also very delicious! Robert led the guided tour and he was a great guide! The tour was so informative. I then went around the house reading through all the information that had about the house. Upstairs, they had a rotating exhibit about German expressionist art. The top floor is not accessible but Robert told us that they think it could have been the bedroom of one of the kids who lived in the house. I had a great time here. I went there around 1 PM (right when the house museum opened) and I stayed until 4 PM (closing time). Three hours was perfect time for me to check out everything in the house museum. They also have two restrooms in the museum located in one of the rooms called the den.

This place is a must-visit! It's like taking a trip back in time. You'll want to pay close attention to all the little details to really get a feel for how life was back then. Plus, it's very reasonably priced, and the staff does an amazing job welcoming all the visitors. Enjoy your visit!

An enjoyable visit right in the heart of the city, which transorts you back to the Victorian era! The staff here were very friendly and informative, and happy to help me and my group on a school project. We enjoyed tea and sweets in a 19th century dining room - what more could you want!
Sage F — Google review
The volunteers here are wonderful and knowledgeable; it is also fantastic to see so many pieces from the past! I also like how it's situated right in the city, as opposed to the outskirts, which makes it much more accessible.

This is a memory museum, and you can easily become a part of the memory of the people who once lived here. Cindy is a gem of a story-teller, and with the help of her narrative it was easy to see how the Roedde family beat the odds. Cindy can describe household items like the bed warmer or the hair saver in delightful details. I could see that this has been a place of warmth, where real people lived and breathed. The objects on display played a supporting role to illustrate the stories of the Roedde family. No, I didn’t find it creepy at all.
Bartika D — Google review
The Roedde House Museum in Vancouver is a hidden gem that transports visitors back to the city’s late 19th-century history, offering a rare glimpse into the domestic life of a well-to-do family during the Victorian era. Located in the West End, this meticulously restored heritage home stands as a testament to Vancouver’s early cultural and architectural history, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and photographers alike. Built in 1893 by German immigrant and prominent Vancouver businessman Gustav Roedde, the house reflects the elegance and craftsmanship of the period. Its Victorian design is characterized by detailed woodwork, ornate moldings, and period-accurate furnishings that have been carefully preserved or restored. Walking through the rooms, visitors are greeted with antique furniture, decorative arts, and household items that showcase the lifestyle, tastes, and social norms of a late-19th-century urban family. For photographers, Roedde House offers a rich palette of textures, colors, and lighting. The natural light filtering through tall sash windows highlights the intricate wood paneling and Victorian décor, creating warm and inviting compositions. Each room tells its own story—from the formal parlors and dining rooms to the cozy bedrooms and study—allowing photographers to capture intimate details that evoke the era’s elegance. Attention to angles and lighting can transform these historic interiors into striking visual narratives, blending the charm of historical architecture with storytelling.

Had a lovely little tour here today and learned lots about the founding of Vancouver and Victorian/Edwardian middle class history. The guided tour is free or you can choose to walk around on your own. The final Sunday of the month means that they serve tea and cookies for guests in the house's dining room and the price increases to $15. Normally it is $10/adult. It was a really nice activity to do for around an hour if you're a tourist or a local, and you're supporting local heritage programs in the city.

This place brings me back so many memories from the 90’s. Vividly remembering sneaking in as a teen to watch the degenerates gamble away their hard earned money away. Even asked a friend’s uncle to help place some bets. Walked by today, and though no races were happening, I still saw some hard living lifers smoking their last butt before heading back into their roulette table. Never really appreciated how beautiful this location was with the stunning mountainous backdrop.
Stanley Y — Google review
Came here for The Cup event this year. The place was clean and had a lot of security that ensured everyone's safety. Parking lot was available. The betting payout ratio was easy to understand and see even though it was my first time. I personally didn't like that it was cash only, but at least they had ATM machines. Each bet was on the hour, which was a bit long... I think every 30 mins would suffice. Some of the seats (like mine) didn't have the best view, but my seat was one of the free ones of the event, so I can't complain! The view looking out at the racecourse is gorgeous with mountain view.

Fun place to watch horses and place some bets for entertainment. Entrance is free but parking is $15. There are food stalls where you can buy different types of easy to eat food like burgers as well as beverage stalls selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You can either use the machines or go to the tellers to bet in person. There is a wall inside the building that explains how it works to all beginner or you can ask for help in-person. The brochures for the night cost an extra $3 but has lots of details to look at. There is also a casino but we didn’t go in as we already had so much fun watching the horses and betting. Before the race, they will parade the horses around so everyone can have a look. Make sure to bring cash as that is the only form of payment the establishment takes for wagers.

I want to give a BIG SHOUTOUT to Hastings Racetrack! ⭐ This review is really about two small but huge things that made all the difference for me as a mom. I’ve been here a couple of times and always had a great experience, but this time I had the privilege of bringing my seven-month-old son. I was so happy to see change tables in the women’s washrooms, along with benches and chairs that made it easy to sit and feed my baby. Such a thoughtful touch! This charming park is not just about stunning scenery; it’s also home to several cultural gems including the Museum of Vancouver, the H.R. MacMillan Space Sciences Centre, and the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Visitors can easily stroll between these attractions thanks to the park's flat terrain and accessible pathways.
Beautiful park all year round. The park is huge and spacious, there’s lots of room to fly kites or throw a ball. I’ve seen people do yoga, practice swordsmanship, boot camps and play live music among many other things. The city views are unbeatable and you can take a ferry across the inlet to downtown. The Museum of Vancouver and H.R. MacMillan Space Centre are in the park as well. Both are a genuinely good time and worth seeing.

I have often visited this park, and almost always, I see a lot of geese and ducks (sometimes nearly a hundred birds) on the big green lawn and in the lake. In spring, little goslings and ducklings also appear there. But the most amazing thing is that a small lake near the Planetarium gets covered with white lilies in the summer.

The Vancouver Christmas Market is an outdoor holiday marketplace located in downtown Vancouver, offering a festive atmosphere with over 80 vendors selling traditional German food and products. This market captures the spirit of a German Christmas market, featuring schnitzel, pretzels, chimney cakes, and gluhwein alongside locally smoked salmon, Vancouver-made spirits, and Asian-style street food. Visitors can also find unique gifts such as handmade ornaments, candles, and jewelry.
Although its tickets are expensive, you can take advantage of the special price of $5 to go. There is also a free carousel. It is recommended that you ride it more than 2 times when there are not many people. Adults can play, but children must keep an eye on them. I didn't find anything I liked, but the mulled wine and German pig's trotters were really good! With a very strong aroma of alcohol and a lot of meat from the pig's feet, you will definitely feel that you get a lot of value for money. There are half and whole pig's feet. Although it rained, it did not affect my wonderful memories at the market ☺️ It is highly recommended that you come to play at night. Its toilets are next to a beautiful beach.

All pop up markets are fun. This Christmas market is extra nice because of its location. Very convenient and easily located by both tourists and local. Just like any other market, there is food stalls , country specialties and different cuisine from all over the world. Market organizers do incredible job in hosting this event is the middle of downtown as there is no litter or food waste on the streets. Vibe is chill and food is delicious. If you like boutique items then surely shop at the market as there is almost everything from clothing to crafts to cutlery . It’s a pet friendly market

We had a lovely time visiting the Christmas Market, even though it started raining during our visit. The variety of food vendors added to the excitement, and the covered and heated eating area was much appreciated. However, we wished there were more seating options available. The vendors were all friendly, offering samples and providing excellent service. While the food wasn’t cheap, it’s understandable given the event’s atmosphere. However, the entrance fee felt a bit steep since nearly everything inside comes at an additional cost, except for the carrousel ride. We went just two days before Christmas, and it wasn’t overly busy, which made it easy to walk around and explore all the vendors. Overall, it’s a wonderful family tradition for the holiday season in Vancouver!

We scored $5 tickets through the Vancouver Christmas Market website today. This was my first time returning since the pandemic. The environment is lovely, and I appreciate the blend of local and international shops on-site. The food and drink options definitely stoke our yuletide cheer. Our visit satisfied my curiosity to return after many years. But I'm unlikely to bring the family again unless $5 tickets are offered.

Is a beautiful place, I love the atmosphere here. I will give 5 starts, but it's a little bit pricey. Even do I try to come every year. They have really good food spots.
Gabriela A — Google review
Ok, let’s be honest there are only 3 things that are worth visiting and paying for the market: 1. The carousel 2. The German hot dogs 3. The German structure of the mulled wine But I'm not sure if I’ll pay again to visit this market (I think it should be free or have more attractions). My photos have a filter so looks very Christmas.
Monica G — Google review
2024 UPDATE: There seems to be more food options and vendors. The prices are about the same as last year, 2023. There are more places to sit and relax. The vendors appear to be in the same spot they occupied last year. It seems they require an ID if you purchased your ticket outside the venue. Another review mentioned to bring cash. That wasn't my experience. I was able to pay for everything with card/Apple pay. However, anything you pay with a card will require a tip. We went on a Monday, and it was packed, though that didn't seem to matter. Food was served quickly. I've updated all the pictures to those taken in November 2024. 2023: It's fairly expensive and like most dedicated Christmas events, it's overpriced. Huge fee just to gain admission. It takes about 30 minutes to see all the food and vendor stalls. The craft items were awesome, but those too were pretty expensive. Most vendors also have a Etsy page and the items on their online store were often much less expensive for the same item. Got 3 pretzels and it was just under $30. I know it's customary, but the tipping situation seems a bit out of control. Purchased a few items from vendors and the tipping options were 22, 25 and 28%. It might be an event to attend once. Only once.

This picturesque destination features a delightful combination of sandy shores and lush lawns, perfect for sunbathing or enjoying a picnic with family. The park boasts an array of amenities including tennis courts, basketball facilities, and even a heated outdoor saltwater pool for those looking to take a refreshing dip.
We had a really happy relaxing time at the beach for our first time at this beach. It's a nice beach but it's really hard to find parking because it is a hot day so it's pretty crowded on the beach but it was ok for us. The kids had fun that is the most important thing for us. Dog friendly at the restaurant. Busy washroom because it was on a hot weekend. I didn't walk around everywhere but where we walked, I didn't see the shower where you can get clean or wash your feet like they have it at spanish bank beach and East beach in White Rock. If they have it too, it would be nice

Kits Beach Park is a wonderful place to be in the summer. Though it is the busiest beach park in the city of Vancouver. So be prepared for crowds.

Kitsilano Beach Park is an absolute gem in Vancouver! I had the pleasure of visiting recently and experienced one of the most breathtaking sunsets I have ever seen. The vibrant colors of the sky as the sun dipped below the horizon were simply mesmerizing. The view was unparalleled, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and serene ambiance. What made the experience even more special was the sense of tranquility. Spending some "me time" at Kitsilano Beach Park, listening to the gentle sound of the water waves, was incredibly soothing. The park itself is well-maintained, with plenty of space to find a quiet spot to sit and take in the surroundings. The combination of stunning scenery, peaceful environment, and the rhythmic sound of the waves created a perfect setting for relaxation and reflection. Kitsilano Beach Park truly offers one of the best sunset experiences in Vancouver. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful spot to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy nature's beauty at its finest.

Lovelyyyyy, probably in summer I can get better pictures, but for now I only got these photos, still I liked going there. My friends told me to go to play basketball as there were a court, instead of that I decided to take them pictures (they are good at basketball, I am not 🥲) It's also good to take a walk with friends, play with dogs, or exercise by yourself. If you are not afraid of cold, you can go for a swim (I am from South America so my body can't handle that in this weather, hehe)
Denisse V — Google review
The perfect walk to see a beautiful sunset or just to enjoy the sea. A picnic here during the sunny days is totally worth it. There is a pet friendly area to unleash your furry friends and let them enjoy the water and the weather. People enjoy an evening walk, a barbecue, a picnic, photo shoots etc.
Vidhya S — Google review
Popular busy beach with restrooms, snack shack, pool (entrance fee) and some parking. Beautiful views. Family friendly. Lots of grass behind the beach for picnics. Some picnic tables and benches. Playground area.

Visited with my family. My two and half years boy enjoyed a lot. Enjoyed slides, rides & swings. Spectecular views, hills, ocean etc. Wlaked on the sand & water. Awesome day for us.
Mohammad A — Google review
The temperature was great. Not too crowded although more people started showing up at about 4pm. Everyone seemed to be in a positive mood, or maybe it was just me. Sat in my beach chair, napped, read my book, talked to my friend, watched people, and enjoyed the day. Summer is on the way!!!

Trout Lake, also known as John Hendry Park, is an East Vancouver gem offering year-round activities for all. In the summer, visitors can enjoy fishing, swimming, and ice skating along with a farmers market and live outdoor concerts. The park boasts a sandy beach and vibrant foliage in the autumn. Kids can have a blast at the playground next to the community center while adults can make use of designated BBQ spots for group picnics.
Trout Lake in the fall is truly breathtaking. The vibrant red and yellow leaves create a stunning tapestry as they intertwine, and their reflections in the lake add to the beauty, forming a picturesque scene that feels almost magical. The atmosphere is lively, especially in the off-leash area, where you can see many dogs happily playing and enjoying the crisp autumn air. It's a perfect spot to take in the changing seasons and appreciate the natural beauty all around.
Foodie V — Google review
Trout Lake is in East Vancouver. The lake itself is a serene spot, and the park is ideal for leisurely walks or jogs. With ample free parking, picnic areas, and an off-leash dog area, it's a great place for a day out.
Sandy F — Google review
A beautiful, peaceful walk at Trout Lake. The autumn foliage is gorgeous right now, and the views of the snow-capped mountains are amazing. Great spot to watch the geese and escape the city.
Jenna Z — Google review
Love this park - especially as a runner! It's a nice ~1km+ loop around the lake. It's a great gathering place for the community and the city. Multiple playgrounds, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, walking trails and more! Lots of events on a regular basis as well.

🍁 A Must-Visit Gem in Autumn! Trout Lake is hands down one of the most breathtaking spots in Vancouver to soak in the beauty of fall. The vibrant tapestry of red, orange, and golden leaves reflecting off the calm waters creates a scene straight out of a painting. Whether you’re strolling along the trails, relaxing by the shore, or snapping photos, the atmosphere is absolutely stunning. I’ve visited many parks around the city, but Trout Lake truly stands out during autumn. It’s peaceful, picturesque, and perfect for anyone looking to enjoy nature’s seasonal magic. Highly recommend visiting in October or early November when the colors are at their peak.

The Gordon Southam Observatory is a part of the space museum complex and offers stargazing opportunities. It features a 50-cm Cassegrain telescope, allowing visitors to observe planets and star clusters. The observatory operates on donations and hosts public viewings on Saturday evenings. However, light pollution may limit visibility, and it can get crowded at times. Despite this, many find it to be an amazing experience for observing the night sky.
Amazing… what a great way to see the night sky. step up to the 1/2 meter and look into the night sky a wonderful experience.
Bradley J — Google review
Went tonight to see Jupiter. All we saw was a blurry white dot. I have seen Saturn at a different venue and it was so clear you could see the rings and the moons. Recommend you don’t waste your time waiting in line to see this. Staff were very kind.
Kanval R — Google review
Cool place to look at the stars. However visibility is limited due to light pollution. It can get really crowded as well. The people at the museum operate the observatory, and the entrance fee is a donation of whatever amount you feel justifies the experience.
Kevin L — Google review
Some find that place quite disappointing and not worth the money, but that's really great to have an observatory right in the city and have an opportunity to observe the sky and learn about space especially for kids.
Ilya — Google review
The place has only been seen from the outside. Nice place. thank you.
Hani D — Google review
cool observatory; also an occasional film location site used, among others, by star gate sg-1
Bruce H — Google review
Well I have been there times before. My interest in Astronomy actually was Kickstart here. Since Saturn is up I decided to go down and have a spectacular view from the observatory. I checked the website before driving in from Port Moody. It said opens at 7P.M. When I arrived at 8 P.M. the place was locked up solid no lights on and nothing posted in the events box outside. What's up with that.
John L — Google review
We've spent around 36CAD on this museum for 2 adults and spent there only around 1 hour. The most of the equipment is outdated and doesn't work at all. We're a family - and our kids were boring there as the venue is so small. We were so disappointed that were considering to ask for money back. Don't waste you money - Science World or Maritime Museum provide much better experience. As for real Space Museum - visit Seattle Museum of Flight.

The Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve Park Gate is a convenient entry point to the conservation area, especially for North Shore residents. The Rice Lake parking lot provides easy access to the park and its well-maintained trails, making it perfect for activities like walking dogs off-leash, cycling on newly updated gravel trails, or enjoying a run or bike ride. The lush forest setting also offers great opportunities for outdoor portraits and serves as a luxurious backyard escape for British Columbia residents.

The gov*****nt has sprayed this salmon habitat with mon santos premier product: Glyphosate aka round-up. This is extremely concerning. All wild edibles toxified, two salmon spawning rivers toxified. There is something strange going on here.

When exploring Stanley Park in Vancouver, the Brockton Point Totem Poles stand out as a captivating highlight. This remarkable collection of intricately carved totem poles, crafted from red cedar, showcases the rich indigenous heritage of British Columbia. Originally established in the 1920s at a different site within the park, these stunning artworks have since been relocated to their current home at Brockton Point, where they continue to draw visitors.
There's a collection of 9 totem poles in this area. Each has a plaque providing details about the pole. Well worth a stop to admire the carvings by indigenous artists and the histories of these poles. They are replicas and replacements of the original totems which are housed in museums for preservation or returned to their places of origin. There's also a Visitor Centre.
Pam S — Google review
Awesome totem poles that are free to view and take pictures. They have a boundary, so no one is permitted to go directly in contact with these statues. As a result, they're well kept and maintained here. There is a parking lot and a gift shop nearby. Lots of warning signs around the area about wild animals. Wide and clear walkways and paths to go on. It wasn't busy at all when we visited on a weekend afternoon. I recommend coming to see the Brockton Point Totem pole amongst other landmarks at Stanley park. It makes for a great walk along the coast line to see Vancouver!

Jericho Beach Park is a stunning destination in Vancouver, offering a mix of sandy beaches and grassy picnic fields along English Bay. Additionally, the park features sports courts, playing fields, tennis courts, and plenty of picnic tables for outdoor gatherings.

The park was very beautiful, spacious, and clean. We met a group of us there to do circle belly dancing. It was great weather, and the pictures we had there was great. Later on we went to the beach to watch the sunset. What a view. So lucky to such a beautiful place like Jericho beach and park to visit and to enjoy the scenery.

My favourite beach. I have been coming here almost every day for my whole life, and it has so much to offer: swimming, bunnies, forest walks, fish and chips, kayaking, paddle boarding, the folk festival, and so much more! Be respectful of the wildlife in this park and don't feed the animals or walk where you're not supposed to 🐇 *I would like if the city was more open about what they were doing with the bunny population, because they have removed all of the plants that provided them shelter (it looks like Chernobyl) and now the bunnies are spread out all over the park.
Bronwyn K — Google review
What a place to enjoy a beautiful Sunset in Summer. A big ground by the beach to have party and Barbecue. You can swim, play and party at this place. My Kids loved this place spent whole day with family. Right in the city with many attractions at just walking distance or a small drive. A must go place with family.
