Park
Nature & Parks
Birkenhead Park, also known as the Peoples Garden, is a Victorian park designed by Sir Joseph Paxton. It features woodland walks, play areas, two fishing lakes, a modern visitor center and cafe. This park is believed to have inspired Central Park in New York. Opened in 1847, it was the first purpose-built park for the entire population and was funded by public money to be freely accessible to all regardless of social class or wealth.
Such a lovely park, the only downside is you can get lost if you are new. It's good to keep an eye on the route. Just peaceful ✌️ lovely playgrounds for people to play and family-friendly.
Dafney G — Google review
The park that New York's central park was based on. Lovely nature walk, plenty to see and do. Marauding squirrels! The kids [15 yes] enjoyed it as well and even took turns on the outdoor gym equipment too.
Kerenza J — Google review
Great park, huge but well kept, visitors centre with history of the park, toilets and a café
Dave F — Google review
Beautiful, clean, and peaceful! Great trails, a fun playground, and plenty of space to relax. Perfect for families or a quiet day outdoors—highly recommend.
Jebin M — Google review
A lovely park that's very well kept. Go here often with our dogs.
Graeme J — Google review
Lovely place with tons of history. Very wheelchair friendly and great place to take the dog. Nice cafe at the visitor centre with a good display of the history timeliness of the park. Only downside is that parking is more difficult si centre you can no longer drive into the park itself.
Sam N — Google review
I absolutely love this beautiful park! It's a peaceful place of the city, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. There's so much to see and do whether you're taking a walk, having a picnic, or just watching local wildlife. Friendly squirrels and pigeons, who will even eat from your hand. The only downside is that the water in the ponds could be a bit cleaner, but overall, it’s a wonderful place.
Tereza H — Google review
Nice big park, plenty of open grass fields as well as areas with trees and paths, water to walk around, and playgrounds. Wildlife includes ducks, geese, coots, seagulls, pigeons, and squirrels that come right up to your feet to see if you brought any food. The park is split between an upper and a lower park (you have to cross a road to get from one to the other), with the lower park having a bunch of fitness equipment along the paths. There are plenty of benches for those who need a rest or just want to enjoy the views, and also enough maps to avoid getting lost.

Art museum
The Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, established in 1928, is a treasure trove of art and culture. Housed in a neo-Georgian building, it showcases a diverse collection of Victorian paintings, watercolors, and decorative arts. Visitors can admire works by renowned artists like Albert Joseph Moore and Philip Wilson Steer while exploring the Maritime Gallery's antique ship models.
Such a gem! I finally visited it and absolutely I loved it. It’s way bigger than I expected and has such a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Everyone working there is super friendly — the kind of place where they actually smile and seem happy to chat. It’s free to get in, which already feels like a win, but the collection is genuinely interesting too. They’ve got some beautiful paintings, old ship models (which are cooler than they sound), and some really fun temporary exhibitions that change regularly — definitely not boring stuff gathering dust. There’s parking around the back, and a cute little coffee shop with homemade cakes and a nice garden where you can sit outside. Such a chill way to spend an hour or two — I’ll definitely be going back.
Alex J — Google review
Originally started going 6 years ago (according to google). Regularly pop down now to explore the exhibitions and check out performances. Great focus on local artists which is really important. Conservation focus. The cafe is brilliant and really relaxing. Certainly worth a visit.
Jensen W — Google review
Wonderful museum and gallery , staff are helpful and pleasant. Really interesting exhibitions. Only reason for 4 stars in no fault of there's but it's a little small compared to other galleries and museums. Well worth a visit!

Went to see the brilliant photo exhibition about the d/Deaf community in Wirral. The cafe is great too. The mini afternoon tea is great value

Held our 10th anniversary and wedding vow renewal party. Access to two large galleries, cafe and garden Perfect setting, staff so helpful. We organised our own buffet and drinks but the organiser offered to arrange food. DJ, table and chair covers supplied. The evening was wonderful and I can't stress how easy their staff made it for us. Recommended by a friend as we weren't aware they offered function availability. Magical secret
Doreen S — Google review
We had a wonderful visit today. The first visiting exhibition was challenging, inspirational and beautiful in it's simplicity in explaining the difficulties facing people with mental ill-health. The second was a wonderful celebration of hearing and communication issues, which was very moving. We also loved the gallery's collection of artworks that highlighted the skills of local artists. Thank you and congratulations on a truly brilliant gallery. Chris & Jill Mumford.

Situated on the iconic Albert Dock, The Beatles Story Museum is a must-see for enthusiasts of the legendary band. It offers an immersive experience into the lives and journey of The Beatles through a collection of memorabilia, interactive displays, and cutting-edge exhibits. Visitors can trace the band's humble beginnings in Liverpool to their rise to global stardom.
The Beatles Story Museum was different than I anticipated, but highly enjoyable! We were greeted by kind and welcoming staff at the door and purchased tickets when we arrived. The ticket includes the audio guide, which isn’t just an enhancement, but a really essential part of the visit. The audio guide tells the story of the Beatles as you move from room to room. So it’s a combination of recreations and memorabilia, organized in a way to walk you through their story. I found it interesting and insightful. We were there just over an hour, though your visit could be longer if you listened to every bonus video and feature on the audio guide. Self-guided tour ends with a cafe and then a huge gift shop. So glad we did this when visiting Liverpool. It was different than anticipated, but in a good way!
Alyssa B — Google review
Not knowing what to expect and not really a big fan of museums we were pleasantly surprised at how good this was. The staff were very friendly and the audio was easy to use giving details as you walked around. The immersive areas were fantastic, walking around each area with background music really brought things to life. The yellow submarine, the cavern club, strawberry fields, abbey road, penny Lane... everything was amazing. We visited the actual cavern club the night before and the room in the museum was exactly the same. We are so glad we visited. The shop, cafe and discovery area where you could dress up as a beetle were all great too. Highly recommend, probably the best place we visited in Liverpool.
Paula — Google review
We had an AMAZING experience at The Beatles Story. Went on a Monday in the late morning. There were 4 of us, including our 8 year old Beatles obsessed son. The self guided audio tour allowed a lot of flexibility for our multi generational group. The exhibits were spot on and great photo ops! Learned a ton, had a blast! Definitely recommend!
Amanda N — Google review
It was really good. The replica of the cavern club and the yellow submarine were great. The shop is extensive with loads of beatles merch that my kids are now enjoying. Overall a great day The only downside was everyone walking around with the headphones and little tablets. Almost felt like I was in a zombie apocalypse. I had to keep interrupting my party to chat about it, or be interrupt myself when they wanted to chat.
Heather W — Google review
I recently visited The Beatles Story at the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool, and it was an unforgettable experience! The museum beautifully captures the journey of The Beatles — from their early days in Liverpool and Hamburg to their rise as global music icons. The immersive exhibits, original memorabilia, and lifelike recreations of the Cavern Club and Abbey Road were amazing. The audio guide, included with the ticket, made the visit even more engaging, with detailed storytelling and music clips that bring the history to life. The flow of the museum is well-organized, and I recommend spending at least 1.5 to 2 hours to explore it fully. 🎟️ Tickets can be booked online (around £20 for adults) and it’s best to reserve in advance, especially on weekends or holidays. The staff were friendly and everything was easy to navigate. 🚆 Getting there: The museum is at Royal Albert Dock — about a 20-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street Station or a 5-minute walk from James Street Station. Buses and taxis are also convenient, and parking is available nearby. 💡 Visitor tips: • Go early to avoid crowds. • Don’t skip the audio guide — it adds so much depth! • Combine your visit with nearby attractions like the Maritime Museum or Tate Liverpool. • Wear comfortable shoes and take time to browse the Fab4 Café and souvenir shop. Overall, The Beatles Story is a must-visit for fans and even those with a casual interest in music history. It’s emotional, nostalgic, and very well presented — a true tribute to the Fab Four! 🎶
Shanz S — Google review
Very nice experience with a great history behind the band. You go down the steps into the entrance and are invited to have a green screen photo of yourselves as the beetles, Headsets are provided with short video's shown as you go around and yes you can sit down at various stops and enjoy the story, art, photos and videos of your self guided tour it IS a place to visit if your visiting the UK and enjoy old music and history made and shaped modern sound you have today. I provided a FEW photo's but you will have to visit to enjoy what's there ! Ps The staff are very friendly as are the locals who will guide you to and through the venue 👍
Pete D — Google review
An excellent experience. I spent the best part of 4 hours there because I wanted to learn about all the exhibits. The best part for me was the replica of the Cavern Club - I could just imagine myself there in the 60s, watching the Beatles play! I was slightly let down by the audio guide gadget, which stopped working halfway through my time there. Because there were no staff inside the exhibition, I had to walk through to the end, get a replacement and then go back in. That's why I've removed a star.
Efe G — Google review
What a great place to visit if you want to know the story of the Beatles, very informative and well set out. Audio talks available if you wish or you can walk round and read the information at your leisure

Located in the iconic Cunard Building on Liverpool's Pier Head, The British Music Experience is a museum dedicated to showcasing the history of British rock and pop music. Through interactive exhibits, audio-visual experiences, and hologram displays, visitors can trace the evolution and impact of British music. The museum features an extensive collection of memorabilia from renowned artists such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Spice Girls, Oasis, Adele and more.
Me & the boys loved our first visit here on Sunday 22/6. Ticket price last for 12months too, Brucie Bonus. From arrival it was a great experience. The staff were good banter too. We walked around each zone/decades and took it all in at our leisurely pace. We were in there for nearly 2hrs. Each zone was interesting and well put together. The Gibson garage at the end was a treat, we were like kids in a sweet shop playing the guitars and drums: brilliant that part. And the gift shop was excellent too; some great items and pretty reasonable prices too. Band t-shirts, books, coasters, plectrums, tote bags, pens, posters: loads!! And a nice cafe and nice clean toilets: they’ve got it all covered. So if you’re a music fan, get yourself here, simple.
Gary M — Google review
I absolutely love this museum! If I ever had the chance to work here, I’d take it in a heartbeat. As a huge music enthusiast, I truly enjoyed exploring the history of iconic bands and artists, and seeing their tour outfits displayed in the cabinets. I even had fun trying out the drums and using the vocal booth myself. I’m from Bradford, but honestly, if I lived in Liverpool I’d be here every day! Highly recommend this place to any fellow music lovers :D 🎸🥁🎤🫶🏻

I was born in 1955 and this journey through British pop music starts a little earlier with skiffle and goes all the way through each era to the present day. I found this a fascinating journey bringing back a wealth of memories. I also noticed the interest in our pop history from both younger people as well as foreign visitors. Two hours plus well spent
Jonathan M — Google review
Highly recommended for every music lover. See, listen to, experience and learn everything about British music starting from Jazz up to today. Lovingly prepared displays and lots of interactive stuff leave nothing wanting. And an absolute plus: really, really nice and helpful staff! Two thumbs up!! Will come back.
Sa S — Google review
There is loads of different exhibits and bits to see ranging from music in 1940 to the modern day. There is also an interactive part where you can play different instruments. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit
Dan M — Google review
Came here on the first day of the Live Aid pop up, and I was delighted to purchase the official calendars and singles of ‘Do they know it’s Christmas’ and ‘Feed the World’ which have been locked away since 1986/7! On top of that, the whole experience was a must see/do. Zooming through the 50s to the 60s right up until present day. Concluding with (my favourite part), the recording studio and drums/bass/guitars mini digital lessons. It was a real treat and a must do when in Liverpool!
Shauna — Google review
Really enjoyed it at the British Music Experience, however I do feel like it's overpriced for what it is. We booked online as this was cheaper than at the venue itself. Interesting insights into British music throughout the decades, very interactive with a chance to play some instruments too.
Megan T — Google review
Fantastic place to visit. Great memories looking at the items on display. There are some great interactive items from a dance stage to the chance to play some classics keyboards and guitars. Spent long there than I expected, so much to see and do. Would highly recommend a visit for all music fans. Shop has a good selection of items. There is also a cafe and even some lockers so you don't have to be carrying too much around. Staff are great, and our tickets allow us to return, which we intend to do later in the year.

Lady Lever Art Gallery, located in Port Sunlight, is a stunning classical stone building that showcases an impressive collection of Victorian paintings, Wedgwood ceramics, and 18th-century furniture. The gallery also features world-famous Pre-Raphaelite artworks and exquisite Chinese ceramics. Visitors can explore the rich history of Chester at the Grosvenor Museum and delve into social history at the Museums Period House.
Superb few hours spent at port sunlight. The art gallery was the cherry on the top. Lovely pieces of art and building that houses them. Although it is free to enter. I hope everybody pays a tiny £5 for the privilege as it needs funds for up keep. Same as the church. You can donate by just tapping. Had a nice lunch at the gallery. All I all glad we went.
Carol M — Google review
A really nice and interesting museum. It was very quiet on Saturday morning so we could walk around calmly and enjoy everything. After that we bought some nice souvenirs in the gift shop. The lady at the counter was very friendly!
Melissa R — Google review
Brilliant place, worth a visit, its full of excellent artefacts, tapestry, paintings, sculptures, thank you for sharing this lovely place. The surrounding area is also worth a visit. The cafe was A1, coffee was so nice and rich, cakes were moist, fresh and we ended up having several cakes. The scones were also fresh and enjoyable. The young brunette lady who served was brilliant and polite and very helpful. Definitely recommend this place.
B S — Google review
A lovely art gallery with some interesting and delightful pieces. A bonus was the Jim Muir exhibition! Cafe only takes contactless card and they had no gluten free/vegan cake, so they lost one star because I couldn't have a treat! 😂
Mrs M — Google review
Easy to get to, and Port Sunlight village surrounding the gallery is an architectural gem in itself. The wide range of exhibits inside the gallery reflect the 'typical' breadth of interests of Lord Lever's family. Sculptures, paintings, ornaments, and furniture from across the globe and spanning Millennia mean there's always something to view. An added bonus was the Jim Moir exhibition of his bird paintings. The cafe in the basement provided good fare too.
Paul M — Google review
Easy to park, right outside. Give yourself 2-3 hours to wander. Well worth a visit, it is free. The museum of Port Sunlight is opposite too. Everything is labelled, loved it.
Tiddy I — Google review
We were there on Tuesday and no problem with parking. I went to see Jim Moir's paintings of birds which are fabulous, especially the one of the large ravens head showing the reflection of the Tower of London. The rest of the exhibits in the gallery were amazing from the old masters, furniture and pottery. Stopped in the cafe for coffee and cake half way round the place. It was a good afternoon out, I recommend it, well worth a visit. No tickets needed, they just ask for a £5 donation and worth every penny.
Christine D — Google review
Brilliant gallery, wish I'd visited sooner! Jim Moir's display of bird paintings was a highlight and there's a great mix of different things to see here. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the little black cat outside 😂❤️

West Kirby Beach is a delightful expanse of sand and water, featuring a boating lake and ice-cream shops. At low tide, visitors can enjoy strolling across the expansive sand flats or walking to the small islands nearby. It's an ideal place for families with children to play and explore, while also offering opportunities for water sports enthusiasts. Dog owners will appreciate the spacious area available for their furry friends to run around and have fun, provided they respect others using the beach as well.
Such a beautiful beach with access to an impressive busting lake and Hilbre Island during low tide, where you may see the resident seal population. The beach stretches out for miles and there is plenty of space to sun bathe etc during summer months and you can continue the walk to Hoylake along the coast. Shops, bars and restaurants are only a short walk from this impressive beach.
Christopher L — Google review
Quite a nice place to be, walking along the clean promenade. There are lots of parking areas and parking for disabled people. Also, there are plenty of spots to sit and chill. When it's windy, a light jacket or jumper is advisable. The only issue is the number of dog owners allowing their dogs off the leads.
B S — Google review
Great day out on the beach with the kids out for a nice walk out to the islands. Fantastic views, nature and sea air.

Lovely place to stop for a walk, next time we will walk out to the island

Great family beach. In addition to enjoying the beach, there are a number of walks such as the marine lake, and walking out to the little eye or Hilbre Island at low tide. Toilets off the beach and lots of ice cream and food options nearby. Plenty of parking along the marina, and pay and display car parks.

Royal Albert Dock Liverpool is a vibrant waterfront area that has undergone a stunning renovation, shedding its industrial past to become one of Liverpool's most popular tourist attractions. It features a mix of museums, art galleries, family-friendly restaurants, and shops. The dock boasts the largest collection of Grade-listed buildings in the UK and offers picturesque waterfront views. Visitors can explore gift shops, cafes, and restaurants while enjoying pop-up food courts and love locks overlooking the Mersey.
Fantastic! Quite pricey as you’d expect from a hot tourist spot but it looked great, food was great, shops were stunning. Had a fun family day out just walking about. Very romantic for a date I’d say. My favourite part were jelly fish in the docks tho. The water was dirty and they looked dead but love jellyfish.

The Royal Albert Docks are a great spot to shop and enjoy the delicious foods Liverpool has to offer. No tickets are necessary unless you want to enter the beatles story experience, which is highly recommended. While.we were there there was always plenty of activity including crew teams practicing in the quay.

Historical landmark and one of the highlights of Liverpool. Perfect place for a morning, afternoon or evening stroll, catch up with friends for a cup of coffee or a drink. Albert Dock has some lovely places to eat with outdoor seating for any weather. Must visit when in Liverpool.
Asta V — Google review
Went in October, cold and very windy both sides of the dock . Mostly places to eat and a few souvenir shops pretty over priced . A sweet shop with a great jellybean pic of the Beatles in the window but again very overpriced. We had coffee & cake in the museum, which was free( not the coffee & cake ) which was the best bit for us lots of history … parking in the docks is £3 an hour which is quite steep . Overall worth a visit .

Always love visiting this place. Day trip with my family and parents. I completely forgot museums are closed on a Monday! Still, there was lots to see and do 😀

Very picturesque and lots of lovely looking restaurants although we didn't sample them. Nice just for a wander round, would love to return and explore further. My first time in Liverpool so it was a must see!

Great area... especially with the Beatles statue. An accoustic musician was performing Beatles tunes next to it, which set the tone. We started there on our Liverpool adventure. It was a relaxed environment, everyone was friendly and we felt safe the entire time. Being right on the water, it was great bird and people watching and we even snagged an ice cream from a street vendor while having a bit of a rest in the sun. Lovely experience and fantastic location!

The Maritime Museum offers a comprehensive look at maritime history across four floors. Visitors can explore Titanic displays, watch evocative films, and engage with hands-on exhibits. The museum provides an immersive experience that delves into the world of seafaring, making it a must-visit attraction for history enthusiasts and those interested in maritime culture.
The Maritime Museum in Liverpool is an absolute gem and a must-visit for history lovers. I’ve been a couple of times, and each visit has been as enjoyable as the last. The museum beautifully showcases Liverpool’s rich maritime heritage, and the exhibits are both educational and deeply engaging. The standout for me has always been the Titanic area. It’s incredibly moving and thoughtfully presented, offering a powerful glimpse into the ship’s history, its connection to Liverpool, and the human stories behind the tragedy. The artifacts and interactive displays really bring the history to life. The museum’s layout is easy to navigate, and the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, admission is free, making it accessible for everyone. Whether it’s your first time or a repeat visit, the Maritime Museum offers something special every time. Highly recommend!

We went to visit it but it was closed due to renovations. The area is nice, spacious and there’s a lot of stores. I was told the museum has incredible exhibits and it’s worth spending time there. There are toilets in every big block and lots of walking spaces.
Carlos B — Google review
I popped into the Maritime Museum in Liverpool, and honestly, it’s a gem! Tucked away in the cool Albert Dock, it’s got this vibe that pulls you right into the city’s seafaring soul. You’ve got everything from old ship models to stories about the Titanic that hit you in the feels, plus a really moving section on the slave trade that doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff. It’s all super interactive, so you’re not just staring at dusty relics. Best part? It’s free (though I tossed in a donation). Perfect for a quick visit, maybe an hour or two, and you can swing by the Tate Liverpool after. Loved it—total must-see if you’re into history or just curious!

My Visit to the Merseyside Maritime Museum, Liverpool My visit to the Merseyside Maritime Museum in Liverpool was both educational and fascinating. Located at the historic Albert Dock, the museum beautifully showcases the city’s rich maritime heritage and its vital role in global trade and migration. The museum, part of National Museums Liverpool, also includes the UK Border Force Customs & Excise exhibits, which offer an eye-opening look into smuggling, trade, and law enforcement at sea. The displays are well-organized and interactive, covering everything from the Titanic and Lusitania stories to Liverpool’s role in the slave trade and world wars. The Customs Gallery was especially interesting, featuring real confiscated items and explaining how officers track illegal goods. Visitor Tips: Entry is free, making it a must-visit for history lovers and families. Plan at least 1–2 hours to explore the exhibits, and visit the shop and café overlooking the dock for a relaxing break. The museum is also wheelchair accessible. How to Reach: The museum is located at Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool L3 4AQ, a short walk from Liverpool James Street Station and well-connected by local buses. There’s nearby parking at the Albert Dock car park. A visit to the Maritime Museum offers a perfect mix of history, culture, and real-life stories — a wonderful way to understand Liverpool’s deep connection with the sea and the world.

Great museum with great guides. Great place to bring family, pupils, students to learn about British history, the trans Atlantic slave and how much Britain had to do with it, among many other things. Highly recommend! For anyone bringing children, please brief them on being respectful for there's a lot of sensitive history displayed.

Incredible place with so much history. Suitable for all ages and also has interactive features throughout. Free to enter but a £5 donation is appreciated. Well worth £5. But it's not mandatory to pay. So a low income family could visit for free.

I personally feel this Maritime museum in Liverpool is better than the one in London. Really enjoyed it. There are 3 floors showing different themes to make me understand so much about the maritime’s world. Also there are a lot of parts to make kids interested. Will definitely bring kids to come again. 2-hour trip with kids is an ideal timing to enjoy I suggest. Definitely A Great Museum👍

The World Museum in Liverpool offers five floors of engaging exhibits on natural history, science, and world cultures. Visitors can also enjoy the planetarium and explore Liverpool's maritime heritage at the nearby Merseyside Maritime Museum. The World Museum features interactive displays on topics such as ancient Egypt, live animals, and changing exhibitions like the Terracotta Warriors from China. With a top-floor restaurant and convenient location near public transportation, it's an ideal destination for a day out.
Went to the World Museum yesterday with my daughter, and 2 grandchildren. Its free to get in, but you can pay for certain events if you want too. Lots to see without having to pay though. Easy to get around even with a pram, as there are lifts to every floor. Also toilet facilities on each. We had a lovely few hours there, and would definitely recommend

The Liverpool World Museum is a must visit cultural landmark in the city. Best of all, it’s free to enter and perfect for both adults and kids. The museum has so much to see, from the Planetarium, Dinosaurs, Ancient Egypt, and Endangered Plants to the Bug House and Aquarium. Each floor offers different themed exhibits, so there’s something for everyone. Plan to spend around 2–3 hours here. Afterwards, you can easily walk to St George’s Hall and Liverpool Central Library, both right next door. A great way to spend a day in Liverpool!

I absolutely loved this museum. Five floors of amazing facts, history, and knowledge, yet my mum and I only made it to the third floor. We spent four whole hours just wandering through those first three levels, soaking everything in. The aquarium was a delight. I was amazed to learn that it is the second-oldest aquarium in the world, and from what I could observe (with my admittedly limited knowledge), the fish and other marine animals seemed well cared for which is a big plus in my book. And then came the permanent Egyptian exhibit. A dream come true. I’ve always been deeply fascinated by ancient Egypt, and this museum’s collection is truly outstanding. Dare I say it even surpasses the British Museum’s Egyptian section? I could be wrong — it has been a while since my last visit there — but that was my honest impression. And the mummy room? I could have spent hours in that one space alone. I’ll definitely be back. There are still two more floors waiting for me, and I can’t wait to uncover the rest.

Visited the World Museum Liverpool and absolutely loved it! It’s such a fascinating place with so much to see — from space and nature exhibits to ancient history. The Ancient Mummies section was definitely my favourite; really well presented and full of interesting facts. It’s a perfect spot for families or anyone who enjoys exploring museums — you could easily spend a whole day here. Parking nearby can be a bit tricky, but once you’re inside, it’s totally worth it. A must-visit if you’re in Liverpool!

A lovely experience and completely free (unless you want tickets for a talk). We only visited the Egyptian tier but even so that had plenty to offer with the mummy room and great memories for my grandmother who visited Egypt herself. There is a gift shop and nice cafe area. Also grateful for the seating areas because we sure did underestimate the stairs!
Catherine P — Google review
My family and I visited the World Museum for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Intuitive layout of different areas of interest; the aquarium was wonderful and sympathetically created, and the cafe was spacious and inexpensive. Unlike other similar museums we've visited, we are happy that The World Museum is NOT an adventure playground, often appealing only to very young children. This museum has great interest for ALL ages, and we hope it remains this way. We can't wait to visit again soon.
Beverley E — Google review
Lovely museum, the sections are small so little ones should not get to bored but if they are wanting more then maybe disappointing to them. Great for free day out. Cafe was really reasonable and the seating area was stunning. Cute little gift stop. Also lockers. Can rent locker for the day £2 but have to pay £5 on the day and then £3 gets refunded to you. Great if your hotel won’t let you check in. Will take backpacks and slim suitcase as have different sizes
Victoria — Google review
This is quite a basic natural history museum. The majority of the exhibitions are free and quite interesting but they are small and simple. The most interesting exhibition is the Egyptian one with real mummies and artifacts that you won't see anywhere. Word of advice, if you hate kids this place will be a nightmare for you. It is packed even during weekdays. Also, this is an issue in every close space in the UK but why does it have to be so damn hot inside on a summer day??

The Walker Art Gallery is a Victorian museum that showcases significant art pieces from the 12th century onwards, featuring works by renowned artists such as Degas and Hockney. It is one of the must-visit attractions in Liverpool, offering a cultural experience for art enthusiasts. After exploring the gallery, visitors can immerse themselves in local culture, dine at excellent restaurants, and find budget-friendly accommodations nearby.
I really enjoyed the gallery, it had an amazing mix of paintings in different styles, like Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. The variety is impressive, and the best part? It’s free to visit! Definitely worth checking out.
Elham T — Google review
As an art and architecture enthusiast, the Walker Art Gallery quickly became one of my favourite spots in Liverpool. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a sense of grandeur—elegant halls, beautifully lit galleries, and a layout that allows each piece to breathe while still flowing seamlessly between periods and styles. The permanent collection is impressive, ranging from classical works to Victorian masterpieces and striking contemporary pieces. It's a joy to wander through the different rooms, each revealing new textures, colours, and stories. I always find myself lingering a little longer than expected, drawn in by both familiar favourites and hidden gems. What I also truly appreciate are the occasional exhibitions. They bring a fresh energy to the space and offer new perspectives, often highlighting themes or artists that complement the main collection beautifully. These temporary displays feel thoughtfully curated and make each return visit feel like a new experience. The building itself is just as inspiring as the art it holds—a stunning example of classical architecture that elevates the entire experience. Whether you’re an art lover or simply curious, the Walker Art Gallery is a must-visit. It’s a place where creativity, history, and beauty come together effortlessly.

amazing colllection of arts, sculptures and crafts! absolutely loved the current exhibit they have for contemporary art. the only problem i had during my experience was the labeling of the pieces --- the info about the art was not placed directly in the same section and it was inconvenient to look around for them somewhere else. it disturbed the momentum of going through the rooms that were arranged in chronological order. otherwise, a must visit gallery!
Oshi A — Google review
A wonderful gallery, free except for special exhibitions. Some fabulous pieces of art on display and I also visited the Turner special exhibition. That was really well presented and thought provoking. So good that I even indulged in a print on the way out!

Good to visit this important gallery, crammed fl if astounding 19th century art, including the iconic "When Did You Last See Your Father?". I could have taken or left the Biennial however, which was underwhelming. But Liverpool is an amazing and vibrant city, and this gallery is a captivating tribute to its heritage.

The Western Approaches Museum in Liverpool offers a unique experience, allowing visitors to explore the former secret underground headquarters of the British Navy during World War II. The museum provides insight into the Battle of the Atlantic and Liverpool's significant role in this historic conflict. With original rooms such as the plotting room and operations room, interactive exhibits, and simulations of U-boat attacks, it's a must-visit for history enthusiasts.
This is a very interesting site to visit if you are interested in WWII history. It is sort of akin to the Churchill War Rooms in London, but for the Battle of the Atlantic. It is a self guided tour and while there are a bunch of little panels or displays to read in most room, you sometimes do have to go looking to figure out what that part of the bunker was used for or to learn about the people who worked there. The room on the sailors who were in the Arctic was the most easily understood section as it had more traditional museum style signage that told the story very clearly. The map room is very cool, and the rooms dedicated to the Wrens were also interesting.
Kate D — Google review
Strange experience, the exhibition was pretty good, however having ving visited other ww2 secret bunkers and Bletchley Park, I felt this site was overly pretentious about its role in turning the tide of war to the extent of diminishing other efforts. We were upsold tickets for a ferry tour. Which we could use as the last ferry sailing was 4 pm, after we had viewed the exhibition. We were also overcharged and the gentleman lounging behind the desk was quite abrasive which immediately soured the experience. If you are going in the afternoon abd want to do the ferry do that first, get the ferry tour out the way as its last sailing is 4 and the exhibition is open until 6.

I happened to be visiting friends in Liverpool and had a bit of time to kill while they were at work and popped in here, as a former history major. I was unaware of this spot before a random search, but was well worth the visit. Lots of good historical bits to take in, interesting info about Russian/British cooperation in the northern seas, plus the planning and execution of Normandy.

An awesome little experience! If you are interested in the history of Liverpool, and the role the city played in the war, visit here. Extremely informational, preserved in an incredibly authentic way and filled with atmosphere. An awesome time if you are interested in this kind of thing.

The Western Approaches and WREN museum was great. It contains tons of great exhibits and information in the exact bunker used during WWII. It was very intersting to understand the vital role this command played in ensuring the safe delivery of supplies to allied posts including traversing the Artic Sea to deliver planes and supplies to Russia. The addition of the WREN museum was a nice bonus and provided insight to the key roles women played in keeping the war effort going.

Really immersive and well presented narrative of the city during WW2, and what life would have been like In this setting, also very informative of the women's roles in different services from WW1 up to the present day. What's great is that very few items are kept behind glass, you are encouraged to pick up documents and items, to understand the vital work this incredible place undertook.

Sefton Park is a beautiful park to visit and explore. It caters for everyone. You have the beautiful palm house that hosts public and private events You have the lake to walk around. In the summer the bandstand is used for musical entertainment events. The park itself holds events of all kinds. There are lots of walking trails and paths. Great place to have a picnic. It has tennis courts that you can rent out. There is a kids Play area and there are two cafes on site that you can purchase food, drinks and ice cream. They both have toilet facilities. There is lots of free street parking and a carpark. Gets really busy in the Spring and Summer. Best to go early morning or late evening to get a parking space.

It's a really nice park, huge with a very sizeable lake in the middle. The restored Victorian palm house truly is the gem of this park. Sadly there is still an air of run down and neglect here over the rest of the park. It would be worth spending the money and bring it back to it's true potential.

The museum's location in The Art at the heart of the city makes it a perfect destination for those seeking a fun and puzzling adventure.
Last week I visited with my partner to try out this fun activity and it was amazing! I got so many great pictures. The staff were walking around, explaining how everything works, and they often offered to take photos for us. At some photo spots I didn’t know how to pose, but one staff member guided us with lots of creative ideas like a professional photographer, which was super impressive. Overall, it was such a satisfying experience with plenty of fun pictures. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable photoshoot in Liverpool!

What an amazing experience. My son had a teacher training day, so we decided to visit Quirky Quarter and it did not disappoint. This place is a must-see attraction for anyone. It’s exactly what the name suggests, very quirky and full of surprises. I won’t give anything away as it would spoil the fun, but if you’re at a loose end for something to do or just want to feel like a kid again and get some brilliant photos, this is the place to be. We came to Liverpool to HM passport office. So we had 3 hours free. So my sister booked this event which I had no idea about. We came in here and spent as much time and 2 hours flew inside. The staff was so friendly took our jackets, helped us with puzzles, took our photos of groups. The friendly staff made it more enjoyable. If it wasn't for the staff we would have not have known some of the illusions. A 2 min walk from car park £5 for 2 hours. A big thank you to the Quirky Quarter team Highly Recommended 10/10.

Visited this place on 4 July and really enjoyed it. There is so much to see and do but to get the most out of it, you really need to engage with each 'stand'. Once you do this, it becomes far more interesting. We spent 90 minutes, laughed a lot and were intrigued by loads of the 'stands'. The staff were on hand to help out and were really enthusiastic, to take advantage of them to get the most out of this place. Don't rush it, take your time and have a blast.

There is virtually nothing to see inside. Two galleries and a small shop. I'm not a fan of contemporary art and the biggest gallery is presenting this in their biennial collection. The second gallery has some rather interesting photos.
Dunnett A — Google review
Complete disappointment! The building is being refurbished, so we were directed by a notice assuring us that there was a temporary exhibition space alongside the RIBA where we would be able to see some art. We spent a while trying to find the building as there were no signs outside indicating we were at the right place. Having finally found it, we were told that there was no exhibition after all, and only one room with a rather uninspiring RIBA display that we were in no mood to try to interpret. What a shame!
Rachel S — Google review
There are a lot of worthy exhibits. As is usual in modern art, without descriptions not much would be clear, but the writing is very decent and really makes you see the meanings behind the clutter of objects. Picasso and Dalí are modestly neighboring with the most daring exhibits.

The staff are praised for their exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to engage with visitors and make their experience enjoyable. While some mention the need to buy tickets in advance and the relatively high cost of admission, others appreciate the option of turning a single visit into an annual pass for unlimited access throughout the year.
Very engaging and quite novelty science museum for kids. Annual passes same cost as a day ticket. That's encouraging (site specific) Accessibility friendly. There's a large cafe and inclusive options for vegan or avoiding milk. Sensory room or wheelchairs available. Very considerate and charming staff. We hoped to take a ferry after but weekends no commuter ferries. Mersey ferries share the location. Under 7s have ab extra play zone. The kids attended 3 workshops. 1 wasn't worth the time. The sensory show was a highlight although some kids in the audience didn't behave well, the presenter was unphased (quite impressive for the level of interruption)

Decent activities, can spend a few hours there easily. Not as comprehensive as the original one. As with many educational places, let down by it's own practices. Signs about the importance of looking after the climate and environment, gift shop full of soon-to-be landfill.

Visited the older site in Halifax many times before. This was a nice new fresh museum, with different exhibits. We went on an inset day, which made it very quiet so our daughter could spend longer on the exhibits she liked, and also got to torment all of the staff who were around looking after the different areas.
Collin P — Google review
Took my 9-year old niece. My biggest irritation was the effort spent lecturing visitors on plastic use and recycling in the exhibits didn’t extend to the gift shop, which was full of cheap plastic tat. Not the best look. If you’re going to preach these values, live them please. It was a decent couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon, not particularly busy. It’s shiny and there are some cool interactive elements. We both enjoyed the craft area.

Lovely little trip to Eureka in the wirral! Kids got in free with their blue peter badges 💙 so much to see and do! We did the splash lab and did experiments with water and then headed to the water show, they where both 30 minutes long so it breaks up the day. Their is a couple of tables to sit and have your picnic. The food is reasonable. But queues was busy. There are 2 car parks, one of the machines where very slow. So headed to the other car park to get a ticket or you can pay for the car park inside the place.

Great farm and play area, food prices not to bad and taste good, cold drink selection and ice creams, lovely and friendly area, we have been a few times, animal food £1 and decent amount, enjoyed our visit

Can't believe it's free to visit! Food pots to feed animals only £1 each. Lovely place to spend an afternoon feeding the animals. Also has lots of hand washing stations, clean toilets, a cafe, picnic area and children's play areas. bought some lovely fresh eggs to take home too

Brilliant day out with my nephews children. Plenty to see and do. Interaction with the animals. Children's play and picnic area. Plus a restaurant. I would highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!

Great playground for 2 to 6 year olds and lovely couple of hours. Wooded paths and animals are great too. Bring wellies and muddy puddles gear for muddy play in wooded play area (a bit run down, but fine if you're prepared to get a bit mucky).

A nice place. No entry fee, we can spend an hour or two, kids will love the place. Has a nice cafe, plenty of play area, beautiful areas for adults and kids. Lots of parking as well. Donations accepted, a few of the animals and birds are rescued.

The site boasts excellent COVID-19 safety measures and amenities like clean restrooms.
Brilliant for full days out with our grandchildren. So many different activities for kids, apart from the 2 fabulous mazes. All the staff are really friendly and very helpful. Food, drinks and ice cream available to purchase. Thoroughly recommended!

Review based on under 3s experience. Absolutely amazing! If you're a young toddler parent at under 3s it's even more worth the price but I would still come if he was over 3 because this is such a fun outdoor and indoor experience at such a good price. There is so much to do and you definitely need the full day. We're currently still here but it already deserves my review. So far my toddler has played on the outdoor playground the jumping balloons and the indoor soft play which may I add is brilliant, it's so big and clean given it's on a farm! The layout is great better than any soft play that's open all year round. Really wish they would stay open all year round and make something suitable for all seasons because this is such a fun place to be. I called before hand and the man who picked up the phone was also ever so friendly and informative. We will be back! Wish we got a season ticket.

Very good place. Lots for kids to do and food prices ridiculously cheap. Would definitely be returning.

A good day out all round. We enjoyed the zip line, the pillow trampoline, air blaster, the maze, and the tippee was handy for lunch!

This has got to be one of the best days out on Wirral. Not just the maze but so many other activities to keep kids entertained. Really great value to get all that included in the entry price. Really reasonably priced food too. So important for families to have somewhere fun to go within their budget. Well done to those who run it.

A fantastic family day out for everyone. For just £13.95 you really can’t go wrong, there’s so much to do. The food selection is excellent value for money, there are no hidden costs when you arrive except for food/ice cream - every single activity on site is included and the kids were kept entertained the whole day. Staff are fantastic and the ice cream was delicious.

Thurstaston Beach is a popular spot in Wirral, offering a mix of coastal and countryside experiences. The beach attracts locals and dog walkers year-round, while the surrounding area provides stunning views of the Dee Estuary's saltmarshes. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching and wildlife spotting with binoculars along the clifftop path. Accessible from country park car parks, the beach offers a peaceful atmosphere with picnic areas and dog-friendly cafes nearby.
The beach is accessible via steep stairs or a slipway, and parking is available nearby. It's a peaceful spot, perfect for a relaxing day out

Enjoyable time to be had. Can get busy in peak times. Toilets and a couple of cafes to go at. Parking reasonably priced and by card payment. Steps to beach steep and waterlogged at times but worth the trek. Not wheelchair friendly although tracks long the tops can be accessed for persons with limited mobility.
Chris C — Google review
Lovely clean beach, the park area above is lovely too. Spent a nice few hours relaxing and reading. Parking area is fairly small, there may be more parking but I was lucky enough to nab a space as someone was leaving as I arrived.

So this is literally sand and water type of beach with no promenade. We were expecting a proper seaside experience and it's just sand and unadulterated shore. Its nice for a picnic and if u like unspoiled beach.

Lovely clean beach. Good stretch to walk on. Although it is steep with alot of steps to get down and its tiring climbing back up. Water is clean. Car park is medium sized and there is a cafe (never visited it though) it links with the wirral way circular trail so can walk that too. Does get busy if the sun is out or weekends.

One of the nices beaches I have visited because of the peace and quiet 🤫 and we came on Friday afternoon. We left the car on Wirral country park car park and then followed the signs for the beach. I was well impressed as there weren't a lot of people at all. My daughter was a bit disappointed because we didn't get to play in the water even though I did check the high tide time, 7m wasn't high enough, opt for 8m and you will get the sea close enough. Plenty to explore, you can't play on cliffs but I liked just looking at them as they seemed very dramatic in places. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful day out.

Royden Country Park is a sprawling 200-acre nature site that offers a variety of activities for visitors. It features woodlands, gardens, and open spaces, making it an ideal destination for families and nature enthusiasts. The park includes Roodee Mere, where fishing is permitted with the appropriate license. Visitors can also enjoy picnicking, visit a walled garden, grab a bite at the on-site cafe, or take a ride on the miniature train.
Great park with expansive woodland leading onto Thurstaston common. Lots of good parkland for picnics or a kick about and the woods are really well maintained with excellent paths which are suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Also has two steam miniature railways run by volunteers, so it's amazing for kids and big kids alike. Carpark is good but does charge, has basic toilet facilities and cafe.

Popular park for dog walkers and walkers alike, beautiful wooded area with views across to Liverpool and North Wales. Parking available and small cafe, run by local authority with basic menu and serving tea and coffee.

Park has lots of great open areas to run around and play. Also wooded areas to explore. Miniature railway is excellent, really nice people and variety of trains to ride on for donations.
Peter W — Google review
Absolutely cracking park with lots of different walks. Be careful, though, there's not a lot of marked walkways, so it is easy to become a bit disoriented if you don't know it well or like to just wander where your feet take you. Still, it's a great place to get lost and enjoy the various views and habitats.

Love woodland area to go for a walk with the family. On a Sunday there are miniature trains you can ride for a small donation. Lovely lake to walk round. Nice little cafe card only payments. Also you have to pay to park. Overall lovely place to walk with the family

Royden park is a gem in the wirral such a beautiful country park which often gets overlooked. There are so many walks and trails to explore which makes it a great place for dog walking and taking the kids as it never gets stale. The park also features a seasonal miniature steam railway which is fantastic to see and popular with all (do check online first as it only runs on certain days) there is a fishing lake which is so peaceful and a nice place to stop and take a seat. There is a large car park which usually always has spaces and is approx £1.00 per hour. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

This indoor soft play center is a haven of excitement, featuring an array of ball pits, slides, and fun rides that will keep kids entertained for hours. With its safe layout, parents can easily supervise their children as they explore the various climbing structures.
Just had my daughters 6th birthday party here, and from booking to the day of the party the staff were so helpful and polite. Cameron the party host is so fun, the food was yummy and all the guests had a lovely time. The play area itself is safe and the children were easy to watch at all times due to the layout. Will definitely be going again!

Would not recommend. The place was not just dirty but filthy. Chairs, tables, play area all sticky. Under 2s area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. I would avoid and travel further to a soft play which is more suitable for under 2s. Ginger guy on the desk seemed off with me at first but when spoke to my partner suddenly perked up. The other guys seemed nice and friendly though, that has to be said.

This was a large latte! Surely there isn't supposed to be this much foam? Dirty looks from some staff. Daughter was too old to play with her brother.

The Madhouse is a delightful play center designed to provide a safe and engaging environment for children up to the age of 7. With an array of attractions like ball pools, climbing frames, slides, and soft play areas, it caters to kids of all ages. Parents can relax with a warm drink while keeping an eye on their little ones as they explore and have fun.
Perfect space and our favourite soft play, as a mum of a SEN child and a toddler the mad house is perfect for us. A place I can sit and enjoy a hot drink while both my children have fun and I can see them at all times. Staff are brilliant go above and beyond. Always offering an helping hand if needed. It’s a place a feel relaxed for a change and don’t feel judged. We visit regular and both my children have had amazing birthday party’s there, again nothing was too much for the staff.
Nicola Q — Google review
Great place. Smaller than your average soft play - the play area is about 20ft x 20ft - but that works out well. You can always see your kids, and they can see you. This really helps to build your kid's confidence and reduces the amount of time you spend contorting yourself round the climbing frame to "rescue" a child that's gotten themselves stuck and can sit with a decent coffee instead. The reduced age range (0-8) means it's safer for the smaller children as there's no larger kids charging about, and the place is big enough that everyone gets a turn on whatever play thing takes their fancy. It's clean and as tidy as a kids play centre can be. The staff were actively hoovering up the various crisps and crushed biscuits almost as soon as they happened. Decently priced too, with a play and a meal deal that doesn't break the bank. We travelled here on the train, as it's only just over the road from the station, which just added to the fun day out. Highly recommended.

Staff are lovely and will accommodate all your needs if they can. I’ve been going with my grandchildren for years my youngest granddaughter is allergic to many things and they even buy the food in so that she can eat there. They will go out of their way to help anybody. Jess and Terri Ann are amazing As are all the staff. It’s a lovely little place my granddaughter is five now and we still go twice a week if we can after school.

We visited the mad house for a birthday party and was greeted with a warm welcome . My eldest daughter has additional needs, and busy loud soft plays can cause meltdowns and make her feel anxious. Really good golf course with a lot of good holes. The first 10 holes are great but some of the character of the course seems to remain on the coastal side after you come back to the 11th. However the three times that I have played have been really enjoyable, I would thoroughly recommend this course

Embark on a captivating journey through Liverpool's iconic Royal Liver Building with the Royal Liver Building 360 Tour. Ascend to the 10th and 15th floors for breathtaking panoramic views of the city and Wirral, capturing stunning photo opportunities. Delve into an immersive audio-visual experience inside the clocktower and marvel at one of its famous clock faces up close. This family-friendly tour offers a unique perspective on this historic landmark, making it a must-see attraction in Liverpool.
Took the tour which lasts about 70 minutes with Molly as our guide. She was very informative about the history of the building and answered all our questions. The tour starts down steps on Water Street and then a small lift up to floor 10. Great views of the city and port especially as it was a sunny day. There is a short video half way to the top and then winding stairs to get to the highest part of the tour. A couple of the steps are steep as well. More great views from the upper 360° terrace. Plenty of time to take photographs before heading back down . The stairs aren't as strenuous as it sounds with over 100 to climb and you do get a rest half way up for the video.
Peter M — Google review
Just had a fabulous 360 tour of the Liver Building with our tour guide Kaya today. We we're on the last tour of the day (4.30pm) and were fortunate enough to be the only two on it. Kaya was so friendly and informative and added plenty of little nuggets that we hadn't heard about before. The view from the first viewing platform (underneath the clock face) was superb. There were signs up to show you what landmarks to look for and Kaya gave some interesting facts regarding the size of the clock and its hands. I don't know how she remembers all the facts but she made the tour thoroughly entertaining. The next level takes you to the workings of the clock and a spectacular immersive film on the history of Liverpool. Honestly this was like being in a Disney show, very imaginative. If you don't like loud noises then you can borrow ear defenders. The final level was up to the bell. From here you could see the iconic liver birds. I won't say their names, ask your tour guide what they are as it has a funny story. So to round up the tour, we can honestly say it was fabulous, made even better by such a knowledgeable tour guide. Would definitely recommend paying a visit and well done to Kaya in particular!
Lucy B — Google review
Our arranged walking tour of Liverpool, starting at the Liver building, was cancelled last minute...but there we were at the building expecting some Liverpool history. And so we discovered the Liver 360 tour. There was no waiting on this weekday so we joined the 45 minute tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun in her patter. The fact that it was raining by the time we reached the outside clock level did not dampen anything. Highly recommended.
Ian F — Google review
Amazing tour and friendly staff......the views a breathtaking and its such a beautiful building. We were told that someone that used to live in a property inside the liver building went back and told the tour guides that as a young lad he used to get inside the liver bird itself as they are so big and have a door on the back. This was before the put a metal frame inside to support the bird. How'd have thought 😳 ha ha 😂
Martin H — Google review
I first went up this decades ago, back in the days when you just had to ring and book to go on what was then a free tour to the top. I hadn't booked this time, but I was still able to be accommodated on the next trip with a wait of 50 minutes. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient team of staff. The steps aren't steep and there are several stopping points on the way up to the Liver Birds themselves. You stop below the clock faces and there is also a short, projected light show inside which is really worth seeing. Very well run and definitely worth doing. Grand vistas across the Mersey and beyond and all of lovely Liverpool spread out before you. Loads of interesting facts and stories and worth the money. I really enjoyed this trip and highly recommend it if you are in the area.

The Visitor Centre at Birkenhead Park offers a warm welcome with its accessible facilities, including an information desk, display area, cafe, and toilets with baby change. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque lake with a Swiss Bridge and Roman Boathouse featuring an impressive Arts & Crafts mosaic floor.
Always a welcome hot drink available and an excellent coffee is snacks and ice creams too go with it! Friendly staff and even a loyalty scheme. Highly recommend!

Holds a cafe and toilets facility. The cafe is quite highly priced for it's location and has a high street coffee shop vibe. The outside gardens are beautiful, with several seats around the walkway and there are several picnic benches to the rear of the centre, surrounded by grass. The centre houses classrooms and exhibition areas and appears to he a hub for local projects.

Nice ice-cream. Bare, robotic inside to cafe. An unwelcoming atmosphere. Like queueing up for school dinners. No atmosphere. Comes across as a money machine - nothing more. No friendliness. No customer rapport.
N L — Google review
Very interesting for those of us who have never visited the area before. Didn't know there was so much history here, particularly the link with central park in New York? It made the walk around the park much more meaningful and enjoyable? Even on a dull winter's day. The cafe was a welcome feature and we enjoyed lunch here. Toilets clean but fitted with those hand dyers which struggle to blow up a paper bag! A pleasant surprise though, and we would like to return in the spring when everything is coming to life.

Great Park. Best to go in the early afternoon. Be sure to grab a bag of bird food from the park centre. It's only a pound and better than giving the ducks bread. Also, take some fruit and nut mix for the squirrels. They get ready close. My daughter loves them

Visited yesterday with the family. Considering it was a nippy December day with the odd drizzly rain spell there was a constant stream of people heading to the cafe. A modern looking cafe. Medium sized meals. The battered fish was lovely. Had a lovely ice cream aswell. The other part of the centre was shut but still plenty of visitors milling around. I'm sure in summer it will be a bit of a central hub. Visited again today 3rd August 2019. Lots of people milling around enjoying the lovely weather. Cafe staff more than happy to help when my daughters drink wasn't quite right. Great visit 👍👍

Caldy Beach, located near West Kirby Beach and accessible from the Wirral Way, offers a quieter alternative with its muddy terrain attracting fewer visitors. Despite the lack of sand, it boasts lovely views of Wales and marine life like crabs and jellyfish. The easy access to the beach through steps and a small parking area adds to its appeal, making it a peaceful spot for a leisurely walk or to watch swimmers on sunny days.
The beach is easily accessed and a pleasant walk towards west Kirby but the quality of the sand depends on the weather / tides. There is often sand in a strip along the sea defences but usually it overlays mud & silt which makes up the rest of the beach when the tide is out. Typical estuary conditions & muddy water unfortunately - swimming only for the brave! Still nice though and excellent dog walks when the tide allows from west Kirby to Thurstaston and beyond. Magnificent sunrises / sunsets if you time it right.
Richard L — Google review
Great secluded place for a day walk at the beach. It was too windy when I reached ther but the experience was great.
Shyam G — Google review
A short drive from West Kirby, Caldy beach is a hidden beauty spot. This beach is a must, great views, quiet, clean and amazing. parking is limited, also check tide times, I would recommend going 1.5 hours after high tide.
Ian R — Google review
I recently visited Caldy beach with my son, and we were blown away by how wonderful the experience was. First of all, the beach was very easy to access, thanks to the steps leading down to the sand. This made it a breeze to get everyone and everything down to the beach without any issues. The small parking area was also a plus, as it meant that the beach wasn't too crowded, which made it a more peaceful. But what really stood out about Caldy beach was the stunning scenery. The views were absolutely gorgeous, with the tide just going out, revealing the most amazing tide pools and wet sand. The landscape was breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for a leisurely walk. Speaking of dogs, the beach looks like a great spot for dogs to run and play in the open space. Overall, I would highly recommend Caldy beach to anyone looking for a scenic location for a family outing or a peaceful walk with their dog. With its accessibility, stunning scenery, and open space, it's a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy."

This is the second time that we have been to The Potting Shed and the overall experience was just as wonderful as the first time. The choice of pottery is fantastic and the fact that they have examples to give you ideas is super helpful. Even when it was busy the staff were still friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The coffee was delicious, the music choice was perfect and the overall vibe was lovely.

We had a great time here painting for a few hours. We did a pet bowl and a couple of small animal houses (wax burner and fairy house). Great choice of items to paint with wide range of colours to use including black. We got our pottery back in about 10 days which was brilliant. Also had fantastic iced coffee too. Lovely, helpful staff.

This is a great place to go and indulge in a bit of art therapy. I brought my daughter to a special needs day that they hold once a month. It was a wonderful experience, all of the staff were very understanding and used to dealing with SEN children.

What beautiful little gem! The place has a lovely calm atmosphere and the staff are just so lovely! We will definitely be back. This was a beautiful activity on a rainy half term day.

Just after the world imploded "the pandemic" we took our kids to The Potting Shed and made some lovely pottery, my Uncle and Aunt visited us and admired my handy work 😂 With them recently moving to West Kirby they asked where we had made ornaments/pottery? And could they take the kids? They took the kids and once again everyone had a lovely time and made some lovely pottery. We are planning to return sometime soon ourselves as we had a great time when we went during the pandemic. If you haven't done this at least once in your life it's worth it, not just because it's fun but because you get something you can keep for life/until you're uncle drops them outside your house when their dog makes a run for it. On a serious note, when collecting your pottery make sure you bring a box, the paper bags aren't up to much..... It'll save you having to buy MitreBond 😉

the potting shed is one of my favourite things to do, the atmosphere there is so calming and everyone seems so lovely and it’s such a wonderful experience that you can’t help but enjoy it and want to go back every week! i’ve been a few times and every time it’s even more enjoyable than the last, and with the wide range of pottery that’s available, i know that there’s always going to be something new for me to do when i come back! thank you so much for all creating and running such an amazing place!! x

Red Rocks Nature Reserve is a serene and picturesque destination located in the northernmost point of the Wirral peninsula. The reserve offers stunning views of the Welsh mountains across the river, making it a relaxing place to visit. Visitors can enjoy flat walks to Hilbre Island and explore the sandy beach behind the Royal Liverpool Golf Club. It's an ideal spot for dog walkers, but caution is advised during nesting season and with changing tides.
A wonderful location with a breathtaking view over North Wales if weather permits. I visit here regularly for moments of solace and enjoy the tranquility it offers. When the tide is out you have an awesome wide open space. Road to red rocks can be a little busy and congested at the beginning of the road due to the Green Man pub/ restaurant and church. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely dog friendly beach. Walking out to 2 small and 1 larger island. Must check tide times and safe walking route with posters, coastguard or internet before going as quick sand in some areas. We know from experience. It is terrifying! We were fortunate and managed to stay calm and free ourselves. Won't happen again. 🤞🤞

If you're looking for a unique and entertaining outing, look no further than Mini Golf Adventures! Nestled within an activity center, this indoor mini-golf experience welcomes you with a warm greeting and provides all the essentials like scorecards, pencils, and vibrant glow-in-the-dark clubs and balls.
FINALLY, a top notch indoor mini-golf. Visited here today as a family and was not disappointed. Everything from the greeting to the playthrough was fantastic. The holes (18 on total) are split into 2 different themes, which might I add are wonderfully done. I was completely immersed the entire time. This is how indoor mini golf is done. See you again (very) soon.
Craig — Google review
Just got back from taking my 6 year old daughter and we had the best time! So much fun and great themes on both courses. Every hole was brilliant and my daughter loved it. Especially because her clothes was glowing up in the dark. We will definitely be back again! Brilliant value for money also as you get to play 18 holes!
Philip K — Google review
A little treasure tucked away but easy enough to find. Went with some friends and a visiting 14 year old boy... He was most impressed with this place! We were actually quite late due to a delay at our previous engagement but they were more than happy to accommodate us. The course itself is small but adequate. The neon effect works well, and the themes fit nicely into the arrangement. Good value for money, would definitely recommend for a bit of fun. RM
Lili O — Google review
Lovely experience at Mini Golf Adventures at Activity for all Wirral. Booked a toddler mini golf and soft play session. My little girl and I really enjoyed a course of mini golf. She absolutely loved the neon lights and different space rockets and cars. It was quiet when we went which was perfect for her as she wasn't rushed around the course. And if your little one is still full of energy, an included session of soft play is perfect. The lady who served us was also very welcoming and great with my little girl. Would highly recommend and definitely go again. Thank you Mini Golf Adventures.
Fiona C — Google review
Booking system was really easy and they had lots of availability. Rachel, on the front desk, was very welcoming, provided a good explanation of the experience and had an excellent rapport with us. The course is entertaining, challenging and was an excellent activity for two grandparents and a 10 and 12 year old. Would definitely recommend this place for both entertainment and value for money.
