The Kunduchi Wet "N" Wild Water Park has undergone a significant transformation over the past decade, making it a wonderful destination for families with children. The park has an impressive array of colorful and vibrant attractions for all ages to enjoy, including an expanded kids' play area with various slides and a rain dance featuring classic Bollywood tunes. Despite some mediocre food offerings, visitors will find that the park is affordable and well-equipped with excellent toddler play areas, pools, and slides suited to all ages.
Had a great time at Kunduchi Water Park! The slides are fun for both kids and adults, the pools are clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a perfect place for a family outing or a fun day with friends. The food options could be improved a bit, but overall, it was a memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and enjoy some water fun in Dar es Salaam...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – A Perfect Day of Fun and Exceptional Service! we visited on 06/25 with my family, I had an absolutely amazing experience at wet n wild! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure our day was smooth, safe, and full of fun. The customer service here is truly exceptional — every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their job. The park itself is clean, well-maintained, and full of exciting attractions for all ages. Whether you’re into high-speed slides, or splash zones for the little ones, there’s something for everyone. Lines were surprisingly well-managed, and there were lifeguards stationed everywhere, which made us feel very safe throughout the day. What stood out the most was the level of care and attention from the staff. From assisting with lockers to helping us find the perfect spot for our family to relax, they made us feel valued and taken care of. Even the food service staff were cheerful and efficient, and the food was much better than expected for a theme park. Highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a fun and worry-free day out with family or friends. Exceptional service like this is rare — we’ll definitely be coming back! Asanteni sana for the amazing service!!
Shafiga S — Google review
We had a wonderful experience at Wild Water Park! Our children had a fantastic time enjoying the attractions, and the staff were incredibly helpful. When one of our kids lost his eyeglasses, we reached out to management two days later—and they kindly assisted us in retrieving them from the Lost and Found. Their professionalism and care truly made a difference. Highly recommended for family fun and great service!
Ummu Z — Google review
I had a bad experience with Mr. Murulli from Fanice Caterers. His behaviour, especially towards ladies, was very rude and unprofessional. The overall service was also disappointing. I would not recommend this caterer to anyone looking for respectful and reliable service.
Dhanman K — Google review
Great place to take kids of all ages, lots of slides and areas to play in. The service from Sabrina was amazing, she made sure we had a great time. Recommended.

Island
Nature & Parks
Bongoyo Island is a serene marine reserve located near Dar Es Salaam, offering a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Accessible by boat, this uninhabited island boasts two sandy beaches, lush forests, and pristine turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Unlike the city's other beaches, Bongoyo Island provides a cleaner and safer environment for enjoying the warm tropical Indian Ocean.
Lovely little island, very peaceful. Beautiful clean beach/water. Would highly recommended going for a nice chill day where you can relax/sunbathe/swim. 30 min boat ride from slipway (walk past all the restaurants and the office is on the right). Boat left at 9:30am, only 7 of us on the boat/island all day. 30,000 tsh for the boat, $17.70 entry onto the island which I think is a bit steep but hey. 10,000 for sunbed. Can bring your own food or order food there. Only downside was I had to leave with everyone else at 14:30 instead of 17:00 as there wasn’t enough of us to run two boats.
Hannah K — Google review
To escape the busy life of city, enjoy this serene time with family here. Make sure you have your own food as the food here is expensive. But yeah it was tasty. And umbrella and the bed are on rent. They are not for us voluntarily. All over good place. Id you are geared up you can hike into the island woods.
Baqar N — Google review
If you are Dar es Salaam you look for nice beach, to getaway from chaos city of Dar es Salaam, Bongoyo is place to be, it is only 20 minutes away from Slipway Msasani, Boat ticket is $10 and Marine Park fees is $10 for non-Tanzania, but for Tanzanian is only $ 10 for both Boat ticket and Marine Park fees this apply for adult. But the age of 5-14 years old it free. The main food in Bongoyo is Sea Food. And you can get all drinks you want there.
Michael M — Google review
If you are looking to escape the hectic city and crowded spaces then this is the place for you. The island is nice to take a walk across but make sure you have someone with you. There is ok sea food and drinks. The water is beautiful. It is important to know that everyone who works on the island is a volunteer that works to preserve this uninhabited island. They do so without a salary and rely on the food and drink business as well as rent of tents, chairs and beds. Kudos to them for doing such great conservation work.
Amina S — Google review
This island is truly a great place to escape from the city! There is a boat from Slipway (30k return / 27k government fee) running 09:30am (every 1h) and takes about 30min (depending on sea conditions). There is a restaurant on the island, serving tasty food (payable in cash or by card). This was a great trip – highly recommended! (Only goes with 4+ people)
Tom E — Google review
A genuine beauty of the nature as it is. Lush greenery, clear turquoise water, white sand. Quiet and peaceful island for a calm day retreat. Not much of activities apart from swimming, sun tanning and walking around, but if that is what you are looking for, go for it. There are some sunbeds and shades, one or two restaurants as well as washrooms. Everything is simple, yet enjoyable.
Olga D — Google review
Great location to visit and relax. Very few people, very quiet and the staff are friendly. Limited options for food and drinks though local and imported beers are available. You’ll have to rent the amenities though, about 50,000 TZS in total for food, drinks and basic rentals. Great for a day visit.
Asen — Google review
beatiful natural island, very simple services, about 30 min by boat from the ferry pic up point, 27,140 + 30,000 Tsh for ferry & entrance fee

Botanical garden
The Botanical Garden in Dar es Salaam was established in 1893 by Professor Stuhlman and served as a testing ground for various plantation crops and tree species. The garden boasts a diverse array of indigenous and exotic plants, including purple bougainvillea, blue jacaranda, crimson flame trees, and red hibiscus. Despite facing the threat of construction encroachment, the tranquil garden remains an enchanting spot with pathways lined by vibrant flora.
An amazing food experience in Nairobi, we order different appetizer and food and enjoyed all. Absolutely fresh and yummy. But the drink cocktails and mixes didnt satisfy us and we were expecting a better taste of mix. These is a DJ playing live there as well. Each last friend of month they also have party at end of night. Try to reserve for weekends to ensure we have your table and seats
Ashkan D — Google review
Unfortunately a scam. The garden is interesting even though there is no information but it looks neglected to some extent. If you download the app PictureThis it will show you in detail what kind of tree it is and give you more information. There are no flowers. Also keep in mind that the trees can be found elsewhere in Dar along the roads, in restaurant gardens etc. Entrance is free but the employee tried to rip me off by saying that I had to pay 20k shillings, and when I refused she lowered the fee to 10k and eventually 5k. I do think that 5k is a fair price, especially to make the place more lovely (if it doesn’t go in their own pocket, which is still understandable seen the minimum wage). However, because of the scam tactic I was turned off and left.

I love this spot! It’s located in the heart of Dar es Salaam. It has the potential to be come a tourist hot spot. It needs some funding to give it a face lift. Could be used as a recreational and educational center for the community. I learned so much about the trees and plants that are native to Tanz. Lots of potential here. Don’t let it go to waste.
Maggy F — Google review
It is not established at all. $10 per visitor. They are in need of help. it is more a natural park instead. You can see everything you need to in a drive by. There are some interesting trees. There also seems to be cranes.
Muhammed O — Google review
Pretty tired (botanical) garden and associated buildings, originally set up by the German colonisers in 1893. It is more or less abandoned although, fortunately, some specimens took root before being neglected. Upon entering a 'guide' will engage in conversation with you as he shows you around the various indigenous and non-indigenous trees and shrubs such as mahogany, royal palm, ebony, teak, ylang-ylang, etc. I did find the abandoned greenhouse interesting, with a bit of imagination, and it was a nice enough, informative enough wander for 30 mins or so. Peacocks roam freely, including taking their chances on the road outside, as they look for palm nuts to eat. Guide asks for Tsh5,000.....I paid him less, the "tour" wasn't great.
Agberolistic — Google review
This garden has so much potential but it appears to have been neglected and not funded for years. Nonetheless its a nice for a quick stroll through or to sit and relax - its very quiet and peaceful.
Raja J — Google review
More of a park than a botanical garden. Some nice specimens of trees. Nice shady spot to hang out, if it weren’t for the mosquitoes!
Martin M — Google review
More of small park than a botanical garden if you want to sit and relax that’s your go to place but no botany is going on around there. Don’t get your hopes up too high.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque Dar es Salaam peninsula, Zûane is a charming trattoria and pizzeria that captures the essence of authentic Italian dining. Housed in a lovely villa with a delightful balcony and surrounded by lush gardens featuring a playground, it’s an ideal spot for families looking to enjoy comforting meals together. The menu boasts home-style dishes, including mouthwatering pizzas crafted by Chef Cristian using top-quality ingredients and fresh mozzarella made locally in Tanzania.
Their fresh pasta was delightful. I liked every bite of it. They have a nice and cozy dinner-vibe atmosphere, both inside and out.

Surely one of the best Italian restaurants in town. Food, prices and staff are pretty much OK. The compound is kids friendly and the main building are gorgeous
Pierre-Vincent J — Google review
An Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Pizza is their specialty. Service is lacking, unenthusiastic staff, no heart-warming smiles. Hygiene is questionable. PROS: 🆙old -fashioned pizza. Cozy vibes. CONS: 😭Service is lacking. We were given a bowl of half-eaten garlic oil. Someone’s left-over? Makes you question about the hygiene tremendously! On top that, the wait staff were very straight-faced….. The service can really put people down. A huge no-no for our dining experience. AND! On top the left-over garlic, we were given three little pieces of the HARDEST bread( cardboard?) we’ve had. Come on guys, where’s the integrity???
ART L — Google review
Wow. Such a charming and calm place to sit and enjoy your meal. This place has both open and indoor seating. Nice playground area for kids. Nice menu to choose from. Variety of Pizzas and Pastas. We tried Hawaiian Pizza and Mushroom Pasta. Both were delicious and portion wise also. We will surely go again. Must recommended.

İ like this place but my last 2 visit i see something change, service turn terrible, waitress just talk each other or you call them, they act like you are not there, i order my whisky 3 differnt waitress and i can’t get my drink. Never come again, sevice terrible!!!! Waiting someone clean our table and sit same table over then 2 hours. No body care about you or your table, owner sit on the bar and just watch game. Go on like that 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

It’s a little bit dark inside, but the steak is the best I’ve ever had. Strong recommendation! You can see the juicy, tender meat in the pic. Hope you enjoy it, will come again for steak.

Located about 10 kilometers north of the city center, Makumbusho/ Village Museum in Mikocheni showcases traditional dwellings from Tanzania's 120 ethnic groups. Spread across 15 acres, visitors can explore replicas of tribal homesteads and observe local artists demonstrating traditional carving, painting, and weaving skills. The museum also hosts Ngoma and tribal dances as well as other cultural activities.
It was a very educational tour. We had a guide who took us around and guided us through the different traditions and houses built back then in Tanzanian villages. The tour ends with a performance from a dance group. It was well worth the visit.
Rose M — Google review
I didn’t expect the museum to be in such good condition. The building looks as if it was constructed just a month ago, and the paths around the village are well maintained. However, the informational boards all need to be renewed, and the ticket counter definitely needs a printer. I was surprised they're still trying to charge the entrance fee in USD.
Oliver H — Google review
It’s a unique museum that introduces visitors to Tanzanian tribes and their way of life. You can see different types of traditional tribal houses, and with the help of a local guide, you can learn more detailed information about them. However, one thing to be aware of is that people often expect payment for almost everything, which is a common experience in Africa.
Sinem Ç — Google review
--- Visiting Kijiji cha MAKUMBUSHO in Tanzania was an unforgettable experience, and it left a lasting impression on me. The rich culture, history, and the warmth of the people were simply remarkable. During my time there, I had the privilege of learning about the Wahehe tribe, and I have to say, from my observations, they were by far the most organized tribe in the region. The Wahehe’s history of resilience and leadership is evident in the way they carry themselves today. The way they’ve preserved their traditions, from farming techniques to their social structures, speaks to a deep sense of unity and planning. I was truly moved by how meticulously they manage their community, passing down essential knowledge from one generation to the next with such pride. One of the things that stood out to me was how they balance modern life with the wisdom of their ancestors. Whether it was the structured way in which they organized festivals, or the communal efforts in maintaining their village, there was a sense of cohesion and purpose in everything they did. I couldn't help but admire their respect for history and how they’ve successfully integrated their traditions with the modern world. The Kijiji cha MAKUMBUSHO experience gave me not only an appreciation for the Wahehe people but also a deeper understanding of how cultural heritage can be preserved and celebrated in the most organized, thoughtful ways. I left with a greater respect for the Wahehe tribe and a genuine sense of connection to the history that thrives in this incredible community. ---

For those interested in history and culture, this outdoor museum offers a wonderful opportunity to explore and learn about the traditional lifestyles of various Tanzanian tribes. It’s an enriching experience that highlights the diversity and heritage of the country.
Oriol R — Google review
Not a very hot spot to visit in Tanzania, an old museum with mostly pictures not art works or old objects. Majority of the halls are just filled with pictures of Politicians and history of Tanzania and America friendship. There are 4 old cars, 2 Rolls Royce and another Mercedes Benz belonging to government showcased in the open area. In another corner in open area is the memorial of US embassy bombing thats interesting to read the story. I was expecting to a section for Tanzania wildlife, tribal life and evolution of human in Africa that you unfortunately cant find any related topic regarding this there.

Mbalamwezi Beach Club is a stunning beachfront spot located by the Indian Ocean, offering unique 'under the stars dining' experiences and lively beach parties. The club features various attractions such as live music, a pool, and even a children's bouncy castle. While it offers beautiful views of the sunset and Dar bay, visitors should be cautious not to venture too far along the beach due to contamination in certain areas.
Wonderful public beach with a jazz band on Sundays. Great for a leisurly relaxed outdoor afternoon in the sand. Children will love it too, with a children's swimming pool and play area, besides the Sandy beach.

Enjoyed the cozy evening at this place. It was quiet, with a sea breeze and enjoying a very private time. It was nice being there and you could see the city from afar. Prices are a bit high but affordable and you could stay there and be lost in the beauty of the city.

Kick off the shoes and enjoy a drink on the beach with good views. The pool is too small and doesn't look so clean. Be on the lookout for Maasai guards who are always on the hound for a tip
Brian W — Google review
Prices for food and drinks are reasonable comparing to other hotels on the beach, Its a perfect place to do some beach activities like; Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer etc. But the place looks old and in need of some renovation.

Great place for volleyball (especially if you're on the CDI WaSH team). A beautiful beach with a beautiful view of the sunset. The club has amazing live music, a pool and a children's bouncy castle. Food and drinks are available but pretty expensive. Just be sure not to go too far along the beach, there's a contaminated section further along.

Shopping
Mlimani City Shopping Mall is a vibrant shopping destination in Tanzania, offering an extensive array of stores and services. This single-story mall boasts a diverse selection of shops, including supermarkets, clothing outlets, electronics retailers, and jewelry stores. Visitors can explore well-known brands like Puma and Adidas at the GSM Shoe Express store or indulge in delicious meals from various food stalls and restaurants located nearby. The mall also features essential services such as banks with ATM facilities and mobile service shops for added convenience.
Mlimani City is one of Dar es Salaam’s largest and most popular shopping malls, offering a diverse mix of retail stores, dining options, and entertainment facilities. It features international and local brands, a spacious food court, and a cinema, making it a top destination for shopping, leisure, and family outings. Its convenient location and ample parking ensure a seamless shopping experience.
IMMANUEL H — Google review
Mlimani City is the best and most convenient shopping mall in Dar es Salaam. It has everything you need in one place — supermarkets, clothing stores, electronics shops, restaurants, banks, and even a cinema. The layout is spacious, clean, and easy to navigate, making shopping comfortable even on weekends. The mall is air-conditioned and well-maintained, with good security and plenty of parking space. The staff at most shops are polite and helpful, and prices are reasonable for the city. The food court offers a nice variety of local and international options — perfect for a quick meal or coffee break. It’s also a great place for families, with areas for kids and a safe environment. Whether you need groceries, a new phone, or just a relaxing afternoon, Mlimani City is always a reliable choice. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors who want a modern shopping experience in Dar es Salaam!
黄芊 — Google review
Visiting Mlimani City Shopping Mall was an experience that blended modern convenience with a touch of Tanzanian vibrance. Located along Sam Nujoma Road in the bustling city of Dar es Salaam, the mall stood out with its spacious layout and clean, well-maintained environment. As I entered, I was immediately greeted by the cool air conditioning — a welcome contrast from the city’s tropical heat. The mall was buzzing with life: families shopping, students grabbing snacks, and professionals moving between shops. Shops and Variety One of the things I appreciated the most was the variety of stores. From well-known clothing brands like Mr. Price and LC Waikiki to electronics shops selling phones, laptops, and accessories, there was a bit of everything. I took my time exploring some local boutiques too, which offered unique Tanzanian fashion pieces that you wouldn’t find in typical malls abroad. There was also a Shoprite supermarket, which was incredibly convenient. It had a wide selection of groceries — both local and imported — and the prices were fair. Food Court & Restaurants After walking around, I stopped by the food court. It had multiple options: pizza, chicken, local dishes, burgers — you name it. I tried some nyama choma with chips, served fresh and flavorful. While eating, I noticed how relaxed the vibe was — people laughing, kids playing, and background music playing softly. Entertainment & Services For entertainment, there’s a cinema inside the mall which shows both local and international films. I didn’t get the chance to watch a movie, but the posters looked promising. I also passed by a few bank branches and ATMs, which was convenient for anyone needing quick financial services. There’s also a salon and a phone repair shop — a good example of how the mall caters to everyday needs. Cleanliness & Security The mall was clean and secure. Security guards were present at every entrance, and there were clear signs directing people where to go. The restrooms were well-maintained, which I always consider a sign of a well-managed public place. Parking and Accessibility Mlimani City has a huge parking area, and it’s easy to access via both private cars and public transport. There’s always a flow of daladalas and boda bodas outside the gate, making it very accessible. My visit to Mlimani City Shopping Mall was enjoyable. It’s not just a shopping destination — it’s a social hub where people meet, eat, shop, and relax. Whether you’re a tourist, a student, or a local resident, there’s something for everyone. It’s definitely one of Dar es Salaam’s modern gems.
Ismail O — Google review
I had a nice experience visiting Milimani City Mall and would rate it 4 stars overall. The mall is neat, clean, and well-maintained, giving a fresh and comfortable atmosphere for shoppers. One of the major advantages is the plenty of parking space available, which makes it very convenient for visitors and reduces the hassle of finding a spot, especially on busy days. The design of the mall feels luxury and spacious, which makes walking around pleasant and comfortable. Being the largest mall in Dar es Salaam, it has a lot to offer. Mr. Discount Supermarket inside the mall was particularly impressive with good product variety and reasonable choices. However, I did feel that the mall is relatively small in terms of floor space compared to other large malls globally. Adding more floors and expanding options would definitely make the shopping experience more attractive. At some stalls, the prices of products seemed quite expensive, which might not be suitable for everyone. Overall, the mall is already a great place but still has scope for improvement in terms of variety and affordability. It remains one of the best shopping destinations in the city, and I look forward to visiting again.
Yajat V — Google review

Mlimani City Shopping Mall is a vibrant place with great shops, restaurants, and entertainment. I really enjoyed my visit, but I truly hope they improve the washrooms and hygiene. A clean and well maintained restroom is very important for visitors. It would make the mall experience even better. Everything else, from the food court to the cinema, is wonderful. With better hygiene facilities, the mall would be nearly perfect for everyone.

Zanzibar Cafe is a delightful culinary gem that transports you to the enchanting island of Zanzibar, just a short journey from Dar es Salaam. This vibrant eatery captures the essence of Zanzibar's rich heritage with its stunning decor featuring intricately carved wooden doors and coral stone walls, reminiscent of traditional Arabian architecture. The menu showcases an array of tantalizing dishes made with fresh ingredients, including spiced meat fillings wrapped in soft dough, perfect for those craving authentic flavors.
Did try out the fast food options. I can say it is about average and dishes are just about making the mark. Perhaps good for a one time experience but I am not sure if I would call this as a candidate for a repeat sojourn.

Water World is a family-friendly water park in Dar es Salaam, offering pools, water slides, and splash playgrounds for all to enjoy. It's a fun-filled environment with ample opportunities for relaxation and aquatic play. The park also offers trips to Mbudya Island, adding an extra dimension to the experience. While the venue provides entertainment for kids with mini slides and various attractions, some visitors have noted that cleanliness could be improved.
Great service. Clean. Fun. Ideal for family outings. Types of slides: with float: +90m (open top and tubular), without float: +\- 45m (open top) and +90m (closed top)

We went at 1020am and we were the 1st ones to enter. There was only 1 slide working but later 3 slides started working altogether and everyone had fun. Kids also have their own mini slides they can enjoy. I must say the beach there was very dirty with loads of seaweeds and beer bottles and other kind of bottles and garbage. Im sure they can cleanup often. The venue got packed up by people after 1pm.
Durriyah M — Google review
We arrived and placed our order immediately. They told us to wait, and we patiently did so. Later, they informed us that their machine had a short circuit and that our food would take even longer. Despite this, we remained calm and understanding. However, we then noticed that other customers who arrived after us were being served the same food we had ordered, which was completely unfair. We placed our order at 12:15, and by 2:30, we still hadn’t received our food, while others who came after us had already been served. This is unacceptable. What’s even worse is that they refused to refund our money, preventing us from ordering something else. Definitely not recommended! Worst place ever!
Dikshi R — Google review
The place needs some tender love and care, cleaning the place will not kill the management. The area is strewn with litter left and right, in the bushes, under the slides, paper plates, plastic cups, plastic bottles of 10 litres, etc. The floor is decorated with birds pooh, so are the chairs which are in dire need of a fresh coat of paint. The floor in the toilet is flooded with water whether clean or dirty I had no heart to find out. The pools are surrounded by algae which are happily growing knowing no one will be bothered by their presence but is hazardous as someone can slip if stepped upon. The staff try their best to provide good service but hygiene is letting them down. There is a need to improve especially as the kids love spending time here.

The word 'water world' bear enough of what is there. Full of enjoyment and everything you can see, as it has the good environment for relaxing and playing with water and good swimming pool for both children and adults. I enjoyed the time being there. They also provide the service of a trip to the beautiful place of Mbudyia island. So I welcome all to come and experience the beautiful of the place as I enjoyed being here.

The best place to have fun while in Dar. The slides are well built, and the running water streams works perfectly with enough water balloons. The place is not overcrowded and that's why I like it.

It's a really good swimming place, which has different sizes of pools; Deep, shallow, baby pool that consists of kids slides. There's an area that has big slides with shallow water. It has a restaurant that serves chicken, pizza, burger, chips(plain and masala) and more stuff. Popcorn and sodas r there as snacks.

Secured and nice place to hang and enjoy aquatic sports (Diving, sailing, kayaking, Swimming etc). Entry is only for members or you have to be accompanied by a member. It has kids section, open section in front of the bar and the other side is more calm and quiet. I would say it’s a place for both families and young people and yet it’s not a mess. Food is fast, affordable and tasty. On Friday evening they offer BBQ. If you bring a book, just sit in the quiet area and enjoy or even write or draw. I liked it because the music was not frying my brain, rather mild and chill and the beach here is clean and safe.

Minibus taxi service
Kivukoni Bus Station, also known as Kituo Cha Dala Dala, is the main bus station in Dar Es Salaam and serves as a bustling hub for local travelers. Here, you can find Dala Dalas, the most common and affordable mode of transportation in the city, connecting various parts of Dar Es Salaam. While these vehicles may not offer luxurious comfort and can be crowded, they provide an authentic local experience.
It's a busy place of daladala. Businesses like selling fruits, money services like tigopesa, airtel money and mpesa, luxurious goods, clothe, and all types are also conducted around this place.
Hassani S — Google review
I visited Kivukoni Bus Station on a bright, humid morning in Dar es Salaam. The first thing that struck me was its strategic location—right near the coast, with the salty breeze from the Indian Ocean occasionally sweeping through the air. The station sits close to the Kivukoni Fish Market, so the area was buzzing with early-morning activity. As I approached the station, I noticed its layout was quite organized, especially compared to some of the smaller bus stops scattered around the city. Kivukoni functions as a terminus for the DART BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system, which is one of the main public transport solutions in Dar. The buses are large, blue, and air-conditioned, and they stop at designated terminals like Kivukoni, Kimara, Gerezani, and others. At the station entrance, there were security guards and some DART staff who helped passengers find the right platforms. I walked through the well-marked pedestrian lanes and noticed that the station has covered waiting areas with benches, clear signage, and electronic screens showing bus schedules—though some weren’t working, which seemed to be a common issue. People were everywhere—students heading to school, office workers on their morning commute, street vendors selling snacks like maandazi, sambusa, and bottled water, and even a few tourists trying to find their way to the ferry nearby. The diversity of passengers gave the station a dynamic, lively vibe. I boarded one of the BRT buses heading to Kimara. The boarding process was smooth—you tap your card at the entrance gate, similar to metro systems in other countries. Inside the bus, it was fairly clean, with priority seats for the elderly and disabled, and an area for standing passengers. The ride was fast because the BRT buses use dedicated lanes, bypassing the chaotic city traffic. Before leaving, I took a short walk to the waterfront just outside the station. From there, I could see the Zanzibar ferry dock and the tall buildings of central Dar. I also noticed how Kivukoni is not just a transport hub, but a connection point between the city’s business center, its coastline, and its traditional markets.

Uber Tanzania - Mini Office is a convenient and affordable transportation option in Dar es Salaam. By downloading the app, users can easily access rides around the city. However, there have been some complaints about drivers not showing up or canceling trips without notice. Despite this, many customers appreciate the quality of service and customer care provided by Uber Tanzania - Mini Office.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: COMPLAINT Dear Sir/Madame, On 24th December I used my Uber app and requested for a ride from Kariakoo-Lumumba/Mchikichi to the Buddhist Mediatation Centre, Upanga , Mindu Street. I spoke to the driver on location he told he was at Kariakoo, Livingstone. 10 Minutes down the road he had not arrived I called back and he assured me that he was on his way but held up in traffic. 20 minutes later I checked my phone only to find he had cancelled the trip without notifying me. As I am a new Uber user I had to find out how to lounge a complain and was advised to send an email. This is very unprofessional and unfair for your driver to choose to cancel the trip and then it shows on the app that I owe the company 3000/= which I never took a ride. on Friday 27th December, 2019 I requested for a ride from the Buddhist Temple to City Lodge and I had to accept the payment so I could get a ride as your app limits me from requesting for uber ride. The driver who came to pick me was Masoud and he was very professional and despite me refusing to pay the 3,000/= he still took only what I owed him. Kindly ensure to offset the 3,000/= from his account at the same time from my uber account as I owe no one any amount and your few drivers who are unprofessional should be taught how to handle customers. Thank you, Gladys

Best public beach yet! The guys selling costumes and the rubber tube floaties were very kind and helpful. Their rates are also very affordable... Our clothes, shoes etc were all safe and we had a full day of fun and left late evening. We even had a boat ride which is charged according to no. Of people and distance covered. Not all food is fresh so I would recommend carrying your own bitings and only buy drinks. The fries from the food vendors were OK. If you go with kids, have some cash aside for buying the various things being hawked like balloons, toys, bubbles, etc. Weekdays are less busy than weekends. Highly recommend

The water is warm. The beach is rocky depending on tide. I chilled in the shallows uneasy but Definitely bring along your beach shoes or buy from the locals who want to sell you these. they will sell you on it as there they can find you sea urchins that are present. Prices may vary on all services. They will also try to sell you a shaded place. I always feel someone wants to sell you something and wont be left alone to swim. there is transport available from the beach. There often is broken bottles around but they dont seem to be dangerous. overall a great time out.

Dar Es Salaam Zoo offers a diverse display of animals, including lions, leopards, monkeys, hyenas, giraffes, porcupines, and various bird species. Visitors can observe the wildlife's behaviors and learn about their habits. The zoo also features a pool and play area for children.
Nice and peaceful place to visit with the family. The Zoo is a common destination for school field trips. So, if you go in the weekend, you'll likely see school kids as well. The Zoo has a mosque, dining area, playground, and a small swimming pool. They also have an animal riding service (camel, horse, and donkey wagon). A tour guide takes you around to see the different animals. The road that gets you to the Zoo is a dirt road at the moment - the government still hasn't extended black top to that area. Prices are fairly affordable. Entrance fee is 6,000 /= for adults and 3,000 /= for kids (2-12 years old). Animal riding is 2,000 /= for adults and 1,000 /= for kids. Peanuts for feeding monkeys/baboons is 1,000 /= per pack. Would like to see other animals like Rhinos, Hippos, Giraffes, and Flamingoes in the future.
Muhammad A — Google review
Children love to see the animals but they so not realise that it is not a good place for the animals. I have been working with lions and the terrible situation of the lions, hyeana's but als other animals almost made me cry. They have no space, the lions lost the fur because of the concrete floors. There where young cups without a ptrotective group around them. The animals are sad. There was a baby giraff on it's own in a cage. All these animals live in groups by nature, here they are mostly alone. I know it is very expensive to keep those animals but why not start crowdfunding or so to give them a better place? The guide was very good with interesting information about the life of the animals. The playground is fun.
Laura H — Google review
Go early to enjoy cooler temperatures and more active wildlife . Bring light snacks and water—food options on-site may be limited . Feed animals only with approved items—avoid overfeeding or purchasing street snacks intended for monkeys . Wear comfortable walking shoes—the zoo covers a sizable area with uneven paths .

Is this the only zoo in Dar es salaam? Because it is so amazing. Guides are so informed and very educated. More than 20 animal species domestic and wild are available. They also have a special food programme that you can order a day before you go. Carry some biscuits the monkeys love them. Never seen an Eagle face to face but here a saw to a lady and a gentleman. Also saw a secretary bird see photos below.
Aloyce M — Google review
We were very disappointed with our visit. The guide (Kevin) never mentioned that there was a separate cost for the tour, and at the end we were suddenly asked to pay 20,000 TZS. This felt very unprofessional and left a negative impression on what should have been an enjoyable experience. Transparency about costs is important — visitors shouldn’t be surprised with hidden charges.
Fatima A — Google review
Dear [Zoo Management], I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding an unpleasant incident that occurred during my recent visit to your zoo. Your assigned guide charged us a significant amount of money without any prior communication or explanation of the charges. When we questioned this, instead of clarifying, he acted unprofessionally and forcefully insisted that we make the payment. This behavior was extremely distressing and left us with a very negative impression of your services. As visitors, we expect transparency, respect, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience has caused us great disappointment and concern. I kindly request that you investigate this matter, take appropriate action against the guide involved, and ensure such incidents do not happen again to future visitors. I look forward to your response and a resolution to this matter.
