Coffee shop
The Coffee Exchange, located on 207 Wickenden St., Providence, has been a beloved institution since 1984. This cozy cafe is known for its fair trade, organic coffee and assortment of herbal teas. The dimly lit space exudes a warm ambiance with dark wood decor and well-worn floors. Offering an array of blends and single-origin beans in various roast styles, the cafe has been a pioneer in microroasting and origin-focused coffee long before it became trendy.
One of the best Latte’s I’ve ever tried. Have had the privilege to try some great cafes in Korea, Japan and all around Asia but I’d say Coffee Exchange would be the best as far as Lattes are concerned. I highly recommend the pastries too, their croissants were great. Very relaxing atmosphere and a must visit if you’re in Providence. I would want to try their beans when I go back and visit.

Really great coffee shop in Providence area. About a 10-15 minute walk from the Brown University campus. The vibes inside are amazing being the shop is an old house. Lots of coffee options to try, along with teas and sweet treats for sale. They also sell many different types of beans you can buy.
Nick P — Google review
Good place to work on a laptop or meet up with friends. A little difficult to park around here but they have a lot in the back! :) I love their caramel latte here. Not very bitter, not super aromatic. Just good coffee. I used to love their pasteis de nata but I don’t believe they still sell those here. Not the most comfortable chairs but they’re not terrible
Nicole G — Google review
This place has the best coffee I have ever tasted!! I also had a latte and it was exquisite! I love trying new coffee shops but keep coming back here because nothing has topped it yet. Both indoor and outdoor seating and they has a large list of bean roasts, teas, and a variety of baked goods. Great place to do work during the week or have a coffee date with a friend! Its a pretty popular place so time is limited to 1 hour at a table on the weekends.
Maeve T — Google review
Great source of coffee beans to fuel my caffeine needs. I wish they had more earthy and chocolatey flavor profiles, it seems that their selection usually involves a lot of fruit and citrus. But that's a matter of personal taste and I have found my reliables and those haven't disappointed so far
Pavel B — Google review
Our absolute favorite coffee spot! My fiancé and I have been coming to coffee exchange for so long and it never disappoints! We get vanilla lattes and since we moved we still haven’t found anywhere that compares. The baristas always know our names/orders and are the nicest people!! We moved 20 mins away but still try to come here on some weekends because it’s SO worth it. -John & Kenzie

As good as it gets! Have been going to coffee exchange since I was little. Most recently, the team (Casey, specifically!) displayed the most kindness and generosity I have ever seen from a business — big and small alike. If you’re looking for the highest quality coffee and the most wonderful team, look no further.

Coffee shop
Breakfast restaurant
Daves Coffee is a well-known name in the local coffee scene, originating as a small, family-run business in Charlestown, Rhode Island. Since its establishment in 2005, it has expanded to become a popular destination for high-quality, small-batch roasted coffee. The Providence location offers a cozy atmosphere for coffee enthusiasts. Daves Coffee has gained recognition for offering an upscale version of Rhode Island's official state drink, coffee milk.
I give 5 stars to the two clearly new workers that were doing a great job, were friendly, attentive, helpful and learning. Tip to management: customers can hear you being rude and aggressive with your staff. These kids were learning, doing their best, and working hard. Please be kind to them instead of judging them loudly in front of customers. It was really uncomfortable to watch that happen and having worked in the service industry in the past, this was not fair to see you treat your new workers this way. And if someone makes a mistake, you should correct them politely and not in a hurtful manner. Coffee and food was great, please be more kind to your staff this is why no one wants to work anymore.
Samantha M — Google review
We had the best experience here! This was our first time in Rhode Island so we really wanted to try the coffee milk and it was absolutely delicious! The staff, especially Joe, were extremely patient and kind, and we bought a t-shirt and some coffee syrups to bring home. Overall, definitely recommend!
Natalie K — Google review
The mango lemonade was delicious and did not taste artificial, which is a very difficult thing to do. The croissant, bacon, egg, and cheese was very filling and also tasted great. I also appreciate that if you spend $25 you get a free drink. I definitely recommend going here; it’s very affordable and the store itself is very cute and cozy, a great place to study or do work.
Addy W — Google review
Heard to try coffee milk while I was in Rhode Island. Specifically this place. And it’s actually really good. I talked about liking it so much (and trying to find other places that tasted just as good. Which I couldn’t find anywhere) that my (now) fiance proposed with a coffee milk bouquet very cute!
Allieya D — Google review
What an adorable spot!! I decided to try the weekly special Frankenstein Matcha. I ordered it less sweet. I came as part of a big group and all the employees did an amazing job getting the drinks out quickly and accurately. The drink I had was terrific. The ube was sweet and creamy and perfectly sweet and the matcha was nice and earthy. Ube and taro are some of my favorite drink flavors and this was similar to a bubble tea without the boba. The menu had a lot of options that sounded terrific so I'm hoping to go back soon and try something out! I saw they can add a homemade marshmallow and/or a maple whipped cream to any drink and those are both calling my name!!

Stopped here on a whim, we were walking by and needed our caffeine fix. I love coffee shops so I was excited to check it out. I read after the fact that they make all natural, small batch, cold brewed coffee syrup that you can mix with milk to make coffee milk; a Rhode Island staple. They roast coffee beans in their 7000 sq ft roastery in Narragansett. There are two Dave's Coffee shops, one in Charlestown and one in Providence. Love supporting a small business, especially from my home state! I saw a sign right out on the sidewalk showing their specials. I had to try out their iced cardamom vanilla oat milk latte; that was perfect and I could've drank a whole gallon of it. Service was great and ambiance was that of a cozy coffee shop. The coffee was fresh and tasty. A great asset to have in RI.
Kim V — Google review
The baristas here are so sweet! They made the best drinks and had a wide variety of options. My friend and I got coffee there every single day of our trip in Rhode Island. She kept getting the white chocolate hibiscus lavender matcha, and I got the sea salt coconut and honey latte! We also got the ocean latte and mango honey matcha, both of which were also great 😆🩷
Mahfuza R — Google review
Had a great latte here vanilla. Very good espresso too. There coffee is small batch roasted and you can definitely tell they take pride in their work. Great people working here also very nice and they know their coffee. Their suggestion for a whole bean coffee to go was spot on. Blind pig I'm glad I got it very good rich and smooth. Roasted 5 days prior to my purchase. Worth every penny!

Coffee shop
Seven Stars Bakery is a laid-back establishment that offers a diverse selection of artisanal breads, delectable pastries, and savory sandwiches alongside quality coffee. Regular patrons appreciate the attentive morning staff and the fresh array of treats. The Russian tea cakes are particularly beloved, although they are only available during winter holidays. Customers also praise the friendly and professional team but note that some drinks may not be filled to the brim despite their high prices.
I’ve never dined in here, but have dropped in many times to order baked goods. Their lemon cakes are to die for! In fact, their bread and pastries tend to be so delicious, I never end up with any pictures of them. When you order loaves from them they can slice them for you right in the back. They’re quite a good price and always delicious. The coffees and iced teas are also great. Parking tends to be quite busy, since there’s about 6 spots in front.
Ida A — Google review
I am new in town and decided to go to Seven Stars Bakery for a coffee break. The interior is so beautiful! They have this little outside space to sit and sip. It was beautified with gorgeous plants. The employees were super nice! They recommended that I try lavender cappuccino, and It was AMAZING. The coffee was warm, not hot, that I usually prefer, and they didn't have WiFi, which was pretty odd. Overall, I loved the vibe of that place!
Momina H — Google review
Got a bacon, egg, and cheese and a pumpkin spice iced latte here. Coffee was made perfectly and breakfast sandwich was much needed. We also got a chocolate crossaint that was delicious. So fresh, could definitely tell it was made that morning. Great food, fast service, convenient area, really cute/high-end look inside. Very cute cafe for working or catching up with friends.
Samantha M — Google review
Was passing through town and stopped by for a bite. What a pleasant surprise! The food was absolutely delicious and the ambience and service was also great. There were many great pastry and sandwich options — it was hard to choose! Went with a cappuccino, egg and broccoli sandwich, and cheddar scone. Will definitely return next time I’m in town.
Danielle G — Google review
We were recommended this bakery by a friend after visiting the Children's Museum. What a gem. We are so happy that we came upon it. We ordered coffee and some baked goods. We sat in the magical garden outside and the birds kept us company. Our son ordered the wrong cookie and the employee gave us a new one on the house. What exceptional customer service! We are so grateful and will definitely return!
Rebecca W — Google review
I was driving back from Boston to NYC and stopped by this nice bakery. Very good selection and high quality baking there. Their ice coffee is great and very smooth with distinctive coffee taste. I tried the chocolate croissant and the cream cheese spread with on the walnut raisin toast, delicious.
Bashero G — Google review
Love this place. Discount if you bring your own cup. Customer point system. Really like the baked goods and the ham and cheese quiche. Black tea is good. Their version of Oreos are fun. Free loaf of bread on your birthday.
Eric S — Google review
Stopped by to pick up pastries for some friends. The kouignn-amann were delicious, as were the ham and chees croissant and the cheddar scone. Can't really comment on the service since I only picked up an online order

Coffee shop
Rhode Island is home to a plethora of exceptional coffee and pastry shops, each offering its own unique delights. Among them is The Nitro Bar, a trendy café located within Dash Bicycle Shop. Founded by entrepreneurs Sam Lancaster and Audrey Finocchiaro, this whitewashed café serves an array of hot and iced espresso drinks alongside their signature ultra-smooth nitro coffee.
10/10!! Came for the choc banana iced latte and it was perfect. Also had breakfast sandwiches and banana bread. SO GOOD. My sister had the blueberry iced latte. Maggie made our drinks and was so nice and also hilarious lol. Love it here! Will be back for sure
Alison A — Google review
Nitro bar is the best! It’s always packed but even waiting in the line, always worth it! I pray they keep the caramelized banana latte for ever! It’s the best coffee beverage I’ve ever had! The pesto smash breakfast is always delicious and so is the pizza bagel!
Abhilasha K — Google review
Omg the caramelized banana matcha with the whipped maple cold foam is INSANE also the Italian pizza bagel with hot honey is so good. This place is so worth the hype !!! Employees are so nice and work hard
Kinzah W — Google review
I came here once before and got a matcha and have to say that I was a bit disappointed—it was very milky. I came back and tried the chai, however, and it was fantastic. I love that it was on tap, very quirky. I also got the smash sandwich on a plain bagel and it was great, lots of good flavors and a good lunch. The seating is a little awkward because they only have counter spaces and it’s a a tight squeeze but there’s lots of outdoor seating for the warmer weather.
Els H — Google review
First time seeing a long line for a place in Providence. 30 minute wait… but it was worth it. We got the famous Caramelized Banana latte and the Strawberry matcha, and both were fantastic. Caramelized Banana Latte – Had a banana milk latte I loved last week, so I was curious how this would compare. This ended up being one of the best flavored lattes I’ve had in recent memory. The syrup was sweet but complex—layered with two distinct types of bitterness: a toasty edge from the caramelization and a smooth, lingering bitterness from the nitro shot. That tiny shot really stood out in terms of quality. Will definitely come back just for their nitro cold brew. Strawberry Matcha – Always a fan of MEM Tea matcha, and they used it well here. What made it special was the reduced milk ratio, which allowed the matcha to stand out a bit more without being drowned in creaminess. The result was a much cleaner aftertaste, more like an iced tea than a milk-heavy latte. After trying the best matcha of my life at 12 Matcha last week, I wasn’t sure this would impress me, but I’m glad I gave it a shot. Pesto Smash – Hard to go wrong with a Pesto, cheese, and tomato on a breakfast sandwich. Just wish the bread had been toasted a bit more for extra texture. Still very satisfying.
Jea K — Google review
One of the best coffees I’ve had in New England! Definitely worth all the hype and attention. Yes, they’re known for their more extravagant sugary drinks but they always seem to rotate the menu with the seasons and trends which keeps it interesting and also the basic Nitro Cold Brew is my favorite just as is. The line gets long of the weekends so i recommend getting there super early or later in the afternoon on a week day. The workers are always so kind and welcoming. I wish they had a section for indoor seating but they’re a fairly new business so I believe they’ll get there. Overall, dedicated to their craft and a great for grab and go, I will never visit rhode island without visiting this spot :)
Adrienne D — Google review
I was going to give them 4 stars, but after going through my thoughts I dropped it to 3. I’d like to start with that the service was great. They’re wonderful workers who were very helpful. I tried the caramelized banana latte. I knew it would be sweet, but it was just so, so sweet you can’t even taste the coffee. I can’t even tell you if the coffee is good quality or not, because it’s so overpowered by the added flavors. I can see this being very appealing to people who love the dessert coffees from Starbucks and other places, but I feel there’s a way to have more balance between the sweetness and the flavor of coffee. My husband got the avocado toast. The bread was delicious, but the avocado was very sour and quite salty. Probably just too much vinegar/lemon and salt to keep it from browning. Again, could definitely be for someone, just not me. The atmosphere could be quite cute, but because it’s a popular brand in the area, it got very full very quickly as we were finishing up. Again, not their fault. It’s just because they’re popular, but it really does diminish the atmosphere. Finally, ungodly expensive. The smallest little cup is $8 for a latte. It’s probably to keep people from coming because they’re too busy to keep up, but it’s just unsightly. I will probably never be back, even if I visit the area again. Who this place is for: those who like novel dessert coffees and don’t mind paying a bit more for the uniqueness
Alexandra Y — Google review
This place bums me out lately. We used to come almost every day and fill our growlers once a week if not more. Whole staff seems new, curious what happened to the people that regulars really loved, and twice this week I’ve paid full price for a drink to be skimped on… unfilled growler, so much foam and it comes home like this, or the raspberry chip with no chocolate in it and then a super rude response when asked to add it. I’ve been coming here since it opened, and while their viral success makes sense to me because the product is fantastic, the experience and the cost don’t feel worth it anymore.

Coffee shop
Borealis Coffee Company, founded by Brian Dwiggins in 2016, started as a small batch specialty coffee roaster in Riverside and Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The company's aim was to create a space where people could connect over exceptional coffee. Dwiggins' dedication to the art and science of roasting is evident in the high-quality beans produced. The Riverside cafe, conveniently located along the East Bay Bike Path, offers great coffee and food at reasonable prices.
I love the Borealis location in Bristol, so this fall, I decided to trek out to their Riverside location! Both locations lean into the historic brick building aesthetic, and the Riverside location glows with natural light and cozy charm This location is smaller because it used to be a rail stop! It’s totally transformed into what may be the cutest coffee shop in RI. The service and coffee making was top notch. I got a dreamy iced coffee, stayed to enjoy the space for a bit, and then hit up the East Bay Bike Path that this coffee shop is located along. It is the perfect weekend activity — go! You won’t regret the stop!
Rebecca M — Google review
I love biking and this is the perfect stop on the most beautiful bike path in the state. Great London fog. Not too sweet. Perfectly strong (and they removed the tea bag so it didn’t over steep and get bitter without my needing to ask - which I love. That’s the right way) they also have “for here” cups in case you don’t like to drink out of plastic or make trash. (Or want to take it with you on the bike) Highly recommend.
Nicole G — Google review
Really, really good latte. I wish they stayed open longer (close at 2pm). They have dine in mugs available, which is always a plus. Every table was occupied, but it was also a rainy day so might be more open space in better weather. Would definitely go back for the coffee at least.
Anna S — Google review
What a cool little coffee shop in the perfect area. It’s right next to a bike path and and intersection of several streets with plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. The staff seems very friendly and they have a lot of food on offer as well as baked goods and obviously coffee. Cold brew was great and the ambience was wonderful. I visited early morning on a weekday and it seemed as if there were a good number of locals coming in for their morning cup. I will definitely be back here often.
Brooks J — Google review
This is a perfect place to stop on your East Bay Bike Path bike ride, run, or walk. The cold brew and cappuccino are both solid. You can enjoy your drinks in their outside seating area. Most people put their bikes next to the fence that sections off the seating area so that it’s easy to keep an eye on their bikes. If you put your bike next to the part of the fence furthest from the cafe building, there is plenty of shade to keep your bike cool. The bathroom is clean and very helpful since the section of the East Bay Bike Path closet to Providence has fewer accessible restrooms.
Andrew Z — Google review
Tried Borealis for the first time. Went with a large latte (20 oz) with a maple flavor shot and macadamia Creamer. A little pricey, but thought it was good. Service was good as well, two coffees came out in a minute or two. I'd stop in again, but more of a splurge than a frequent flyer.
Tim G — Google review
Awesome egg sandwiches and Cortados! Loved that they had a nice outdoor seating for the nice weather. They were out of the biscuits so we will have to go back for an egg sandwich on those. We went back, can confirm they are awesome.
Devin M — Google review
I used to enjoy stopping here off the bike path, nice staff and good coffee, but for the past month homeless people have made the outside their new home. Asking for change and giving stares like they're waiting for an opportunity. The staff doesn't seem to care as the number of homeless people around the shop seems to increase. Just doesn't feel safe anymore and has ruined the experience for me. Unfortunately will be going elsewhere from now on.

Cafe
Bolt Coffee, located at the RISD museum in Providence, offers more than just a great cup of coffee. The aesthetic of the place is top-notch and it also serves various types of toast and delectable pastries like donuts and coffee cake. Starting as a cart at weddings, Bolt Coffee has now expanded to multiple locations.
Been going for years. Not sure why I haven’t reviewed. Fantastic espresso drinks. Love the tonics. Black sesame seasonal drink is so good because it’s not too sweet like most places that make these syrup drinks. Food is also an incredible standout. They actually have real cooks in the kitchen.
Bella W — Google review
The breakfast sandwich rests amazingly good. The Lattes on the other hand is on the light side. It has a taste of dates, which is quite interesting. Small but clean and quiet cafe shop. Friendly servers.
Liang H — Google review
The coffee and food here is amazing! I had a bacon and egg sandwich on gluten free bread with avocado, and an oat milk latte with apple syrup. Just WOW! Hubby had the same, but on a brioche bun with cheddar cheese and a Cortado. I highly recommend this place! It was clean, and the barista (Frankie) was so nice and helpful! Being gluten and dairy free sometimes has its problems. But not here! The music was a tad loud, but maybe I’m just getting old 😂will come back for sure!
Beth G — Google review
Small cafe. I love these windows all these stores have. It is great for a nice day to sit inside and still get fresh air. They also have seating outside. For dairy free or vegan options they only had oat milk. Not the best coffee I’ve had in town. But it’s not bad. Severely overpriced for average.
Allieya D — Google review
Their Coffee has a really nice flavor, a bit less intense and more smooth than Blue Bottle coffee. Also better than Starbucks. Get the mocha, it rocks (has 2 shots of espresso). A place for serious coffee lovers. They sell fair trade coffee beans as well. 3 locations in Providence. Local business owner. Great staff. Came for their breakfast sandwich on a brioche and asked for gluten free bread option and they had it for a buck more. Added the pork belly for 3 bucks more and whoa it’s my go to breakfast sammy now. Gluten bread is usually the texture of cardboard but this sandwich was perfection. 10 out of 10! They have free wifi and plenty of tables w outlets for work space mix up. Cool vibe overall. Their new rice bowls with chicken are bomb. 🔥
Eric V — Google review
It was my first time trying bolt coffee. I got a 20oz mocha and matcha. Both had no flavor in it. The matcha especially was so disappointing because it was expensive and it tasted like milk. Im not sure if they’re using actual matcha or matcha flavoring but the cafe needs to make the matcha better. The mocha was also disappointing. I personally love mocha and it was horrible. It did not have a mocha taste as i could not taste the coffee or the chocolate in it. Very disappointing. Honestly this place is not worth the price due to the quality of the drinks. Stopped here and at another well-reviewed shop in the neighbourhood. I typically get an americano—black or with dairy milk—when I want to sample their beans and decide whether it’s a shop that will be notable for me. From first sip, I loved the uniqueness of the coffee, as it had not only the kind of complex and nutty flavours I prefer but also a bouquet that was slightly floral and citrusy, not in an overwhelming way. I knew immediately that the other shop’s coffee would not compare, as this type of flavourful bean is not a common find.

Nestled in the heart of Providence, White Electric Coffee stands out as a charming co-op coffeehouse that embodies both community spirit and culinary creativity. This eclectic spot not only serves up locally roasted beans but also delights patrons with an array of delicious food options, including pastries and sandwiches. The café is renowned for its unique seasonal lattes like Tiramisu and Pistachio Rose, alongside house specials such as the indulgent White Lightning and refreshing Flower Power.
I had two friends recommend this cafe and it did not disappoint- a long narrow neighborhood cafe that you could tell was filled with ‘regulars’ ☕️ Ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and tomato and a house coffee- both were perfect, no notes. I also got a pecan swirl for later and I love how it was packed with filling but not overly sweet which is a rare combo!

Love this place! The staff is always incredibly friendly. The vibes are amazing. They have THE BEST homemade pickles!!! I wish they sold jars of them. 🤤🤤🤤 Highly recommend with a sandwich and coffee. So good!!
Vanessa M — Google review
It's a place with a really cool vibe. I had an egg sandwich, and it was very good. Also, at the time I was there paintings of a local painter named Joe Marchesi were on the display. The paintings are pretty good, go check them out if you are in the neighborhood.

Cool artsy spot; great sandwiches (love it that you can opt for a pickle instead of chips!), good coffee. The spot is very popular so prepare for quite a bit of a wait

What a great place! The atmosphere is fantastic -- can just relax and enjoy the space, I can imagine doing a lot of writing here. The service was kind. And the coffee was delicious too (regular black coffee and a latte). The bagel was wonderful, with a good texture and tons of flavor. Overall, my only gripe is that I did not come sooner!

Went for lunch, had a sandwich on a garlic bagel. Fresh, delicious, and generously filled. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The latte was very good too

Came here in the morning and got some pastries which were pretty good and ordered a black sesame latte hoping it would be as good as the one I had in NYC. Unfortunately, the latte fell short. The black sesame syrup was way too sweet but I would give it a 2nd chance for regular coffee if I'm ever in the area as the staff was generally nice.

Eclectic local shop! Inspiring story of a workers owned spot here in Providence. Didn’t even know about this model until I learned about it from this place. Friendly staff. Love how they share local resources on their board. Clean environment, even their bathroom is cute! Lol Delicious Macha as well as everything else I’ve tried here such as their chocolate croissants and iced lattes with honey! 😋

Nestled amidst the bustling Thayer Street, Ceremony College Hill stands as a serene oasis for those wandering through Providence. This charming establishment offers an authentic tea-drinking experience, beautifully complemented by its modern and stylish interior design. Founded by Michelle Cheng, who drew inspiration from cherished memories of family tea rituals, Ceremony has evolved from a traditional tea house into a vibrant café that caters to all palates—even coffee enthusiasts will find something to love here.
Came on a Saturday and location is in a quiet area I feel like? Found parking quite easily. The matcha was delicious and the order came out very quick. I would come to try their other flavor matcha.

A place where you can actually work and enjoy good matcha and more! They have wine and cocktails too! Worth a try if you’re having a tough day or just want to experience good food and drinks with a friendly atmosphere. Hard to find parking so walk if you’re nearby. Good onigiri and tayaki!

I got an hojicha latte and it was pretty good. I didn’t realize you had to order sweetener as an additional add-on as other places I’ve visited usually include maple syrup. One of the bartenders was kind enough to add some for me. Beautiful, bright interior!
Catherine S — Google review
I would definitely recommend Ceremony to people looking to get an intentionally-made matcha in Providence. They have an extensive menu and seem to follow trends and seasons well. The set up is good for studying or conversation but I found the music to be a but loud. The matcha came out to $7.29 which is a bit steep but again, worth the experience.

I ordered the iced latte with the espresso bear and it was honestly one of the best coffees I’ve had in Rhode Island. The teddy bear was such a cute and creative touch. The café is clean, hygienic, and has a great seating setup, making it perfect for both solo visits and catching up with friends. Highly recommend stopping by Ceremony College Hill!

Ordered strawberry matcha and feta bureka. Both foods were very delicious and the strawberry matcha was a good balance between sweet and rich flavors. Staff were very kind and service was prompt. Ambiance is good, moderately loud — good for chatting, and very nice for productive work.
Anthony M — Google review
The matcha was terrible, the matcha wasn't mixed well, full of clumps, the color and visual was nice, my friends ordered matcha sparkly peach and it was terrible, she said it tasted bitter, even after adding five packs of sweetner it was terrible. We ordered lemonade matcha and it was terrible. Overall I do not recommend this matcha place, even starbucks matcha tastes better,a nd I'm saying this as a matcha girl with a matcha station at home. The matcha tastes bland and has no flavor.
WZX C — Google review
The strawberry in the Strawberry Matcha Latte was the best part of the drink because it tasted very fresh. The matcha itself was just okay; I felt like you could taste the matcha shortage. The teddy bear was cute but didn’t add anything to the drink flavor-wise, so it’s not worth the extra $2.75 if you don’t care for it. The inside of the store is nice. I liked the ceramics and merchandise that were for sale.

Cafe
Rise 'n Shine Coffee Bar is a cozy spot in the Smith Hill neighborhood of Providence, located on the first floor of a historic carriage house. The cafe offers locally roasted coffee and beautiful latte art, making it the perfect place to warm up on a dreary day. What sets this cafe apart is its unique shoe shining chair, which holds a heartfelt story as it honors the owner's father who was a shoe shiner in New York.
What a gem! I got Lavender Fields and it was beautiful and so unique. Pastries were good too. But look at the decor! I have never been to a coffee shop like this. They offered to make my take-out coffee for someone else after I finished my own. Owner chatted with me a bit and gave me recommendations on where to visit in Providence. Top notch service. Short 5 minute walk from Veterans Memorial Auditorium.

I love cafes, and this one is one of the most unique!!! The bagels are so close to NY bagels, and I LOVED them. The donuts were a little dry but such creative and fun flavors. Very tasty. BUT THE DRINKS🤩 I got the Matcha Guava Beet powder with soymilk. It was SO tasty!!!! It’s a very tiny space but they do a lot with it. I also love the fresh flowers 🌹. What a lovely touch!

Cute small shop great place to pause and get some work done or just grab and go. Their pastries are from Knead and the spinach artichoke croissant was delicious 🤌 their chai is more spicy than I am accustomed to so the banana in the Banana bread chai helped balance it out. Their matcha is also great!

Lovely little spot. But we felt like as soon as we walked in, we were an 'annoyance' to the barista. Her attitude kind of put us off and made us feel slightly unwelcome. Although the coffee was of good quality, my cortado was half foam, and not even filled to the top. I'm sure had it been made like normal, I would have enjoyed it even more. Overall, it seems like a great place, I just think the staff need a little more training.
Brit G — Google review
Without exaggeration, this is the best coffee shop I've ever been to. Most places have either good coffee or good atmosphere, but Rise 'n Shine has both in spades! The floral capucinno and cinnamon bun are both absolutely delicious, and the historic building the shop is set up in makes for an inviting and cozy atmosphere. If you find yourself in the area and love flavored coffee drinks, I would enthusiastically encourage you to stop by and experience it for yourself!
Connor A — Google review
Really good use of floral notes in lattes. Heard great things about this spot from a colleague and finally dropped by to check it out. Compared to other trendy cafes I’ve visited recently, the menu here stood out. Nothing too wild, but definitely more thoughtful. Some of the flavor combos reminded me of New England cafes that play with flavored syrups, but without the artificial notes. Everything felt more intentional, and better executed. I tried the Gardner Latte, the Blueberry Pancake Latte, and the Strawberry Pop Tart Donut. The Gardner Latte—a mix of matcha, blueberry, lavender, and petals—was the most memorable. The matcha wasn’t top-tier, but the interplay between the blueberry’s soft sweetness and the floral lavender was surprisingly balanced. I didn’t expect those flavors to pair so well with matcha, but it worked. The Blueberry Pancake Latte was a seasonal option, and I only got a few sips. It might’ve been better iced—the blueberry notes came through initially but didn’t linger, and the coffee aroma in the hot version overpowered the finish. The strawberry pop tart donut was solid. Would’ve been nicer if the strawberry jam fillings were more evenly spread, but the donut itself was still airy and soft. Even the parts without it didn’t feel too dry. The café’s tucked away in a residential area, but parking was easy—no permits needed on the street. They also have a hidden garden patio out back, so I’ll probably be back when the weather’s nicer.

First time visiting this lovely café. Absolutely felt at peace being here and the quality of the coffee and ham and cheese croissant was fantastic. Also, love how it's not overcrowded like a downtown coffee shop. Will definitely be back!

Highly recommend trying out this quaint little coffee shop! It’s within walking distance of downtown Providence and it’s nestled in a very cute neighborhood ( off of Smith-hill). It’s especially picturesque in the fall with all the changing leaves! The backyard patio also offers a beautiful scenery with some privacy as well! Aside from the decor, the coffee and pastries here are incredible as well! Given the season, I had the pleasure of trying their Pumpkin latte and it was divine! The cappuccino and blood orange with hibiscus tea were tasty as well! Can’t wait to come back to try more of their unique flavors!

The cozy and lively cafe offers a variety of house-made fruit tarts, cakes, chocolates, pastries, eclairs, cannoli, and biscotti. The owner, Amy Foster, who has been in the baking industry since the 90s and took over as owner two years ago, prides herself on the popular fresh fruit tart.
The best fruit tart that I have ever had in my life. The custard filling has amazing texture with the perfect sweetness and flavor paired with delicious and fresh fruits on top. The pie crust is very dense and crispy which did not get soggy and maintained amazing texture.

Our family love the fruit tart from here. This is the second tart we have gotten in 2 weeks. Today while my brother is eating, he saw something moving inside of his raspberry. Got my phone out a bit slow but the spider just crawled out of the raspberry onto the tart, you can see raspberry residue on one of its legs 🫠 And this was us bringing the cake back and cut up and serve right away…

My go to dessert place for years in Pvd. First you got rid of in person dinning. No more after dinner dessert and coffee with friends. But this is the worst, why why why, did you change your cannoli?! 😡 it was perfect before. Please change it back. (Response to owner) Yes, it was tiny it was loud, and you had to wait for a table forever, but it had charm and nostalgia. The new filling is completely different, I preferred the older version. I see you’re a business owner who cares about their business and you at least saw my comment and responded quickly. So I will change my review because the rest of your desserts and service are very good.

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. We walked in and the workers did not even look at us the entire time. We were trying to decide on what to get, as everyone was raving about this place. We chose the tiramisu. They gave us half of what was displayed for basically $10 after tax per slice. The workers did not even acknowledge us this whole time. All that and the tiramisu was not that great. Big disappointment with rude staff.

Ellie's is a cozy and charming Parisian-inspired cafe and bakery located in Providence. It is the sister establishment to Gracie's, offering a delightful selection of French pastries, light fare, and espresso drinks. The cafe is known for its artisan cakes that are true works of art, with signature flavors like London Fog and Tiramisu. They also offer wheat-free options like the Corn Pecan cake.
We were visiting Providence for the first time and we wanted an amazing cup of coffee with something delicious boy were we surprised when we walked in and we found out that they made their own classic croissants and amazing pastries along with macaroons the coffee choices are great. The seating is great. It’s a great place to hang out and socialize and work and very comforting. The staff is outstanding. Helen is amazing, Avery is a champion.

I visited this cafe three days in a row during my trip to Providence, RI, with my husband. We enjoyed a variety of pastries and savory dishes. The avocado toast was unique — they blend the avocado into a smooth purée, which isn't my personal preference (I prefer a chunkier texture). Nevertheless, everything else we tried was excellent. The pastries were particularly memorable, and I especially loved the rosemary cookie — a must-try!  We also enjoyed their cappuccinos and matcha lattes. The staff was friendly and welcoming, creating a positive atmosphere. We visited around 11 AM several times, which was their busy period. There was a fairly long line, but it was worth the wait. The space itself is lovely — plenty of seating and a bright, inviting environment. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely return next time we're in Providence!

This place was a gem and easily the best place I dined during my visit to RI. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and fast. One of my new favorite places in Providence! We went here on a recent Saturday around 5pm, ordered delicious espresso martinis, sat outside on the patio with the windows of the restaurant open, and listened to an awesome jazz trio playing live music inside the restaurant. There were people there having food, having drinks just listening to the music, sitting alone reading or working on their computer, talking at their table- it was a wonderful cafe/bar vibe where you could feel comfortable doing any of those things, just enjoying the afternoon and being around others. We appreciated that they could make our espresso martinis without Baileys. Their soup of the day happened to be vegan/plant-based but none of their pastries were vegan/plant-based 😥- we would have gotten a pastry if they were.

Third times a charm when rounding the building trying to find parking on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Lucky the corner window was open and we had a cozy spot to enjoy soup, scone and cookie with delicious beverages. The only complaint from my 17 year old was the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was too heavy on the chocolate and not a good balance of oatmeal. Thanks for the lovely respite for a few Southern Californians who didn’t find any charming, delicious goody places in Warwick. Thanks.

American restaurant
New Rivers is a bistro located in a historic warehouse district, offering locally sourced American cuisine and an array of uncommon wines. The restaurant's name reflects its diverse menu, which draws inspiration from various culinary traditions. The intimate 40-seat space serves bold and inventive multicultural dishes. In addition to its regular menu, New Rivers hosts 'Fried Chicken Friday,' featuring hot and crispy chicken paired with sides like whipped buttermilk potatoes, house-brined pickles, and seasonal desserts.
Really appreciate the restaurant accommodating me when I did not have a reservation. The raw oysters were tastefully presented - with a stellar mignonette and cocktail sauce with fresh shaved horseradish. Is it rude to drink mignonette after finishing oysters? If so, New Rivers might tempt me to be rude. The cornmeal fried squid - amazing. Crispy, chewy and not overpowering. Fried basil and radish were the perfect accompaniments. My server advised me that I could order a single roll and I appreciated that non menu option. As a solo diner - I appreciate getting to try more of the menu. Smoked duck tart was incredible. The pastry was perfect - but I thought the salad on the side was odd. Entire leaves of lettuce were hard to eat. The freshness helped but maybe a different presentation might be better. I ordered the lemon curd tart and while good, it was the low point of the meal. The pastry was not as good as the earlier tart and the flavor seemed muted. I’d order something else. Overall, great meal, well worth a special visit

Phenomenal pork chop tenderloin, full stop! Don't mess around, someone at the table should get this dish. We had the scallops and the sea Bass as well, the pork chop is a level above these dishes. Smoky char, tender, juicy, and you must dip in the sauce on the plate to get the full experience. This is a must have entree at The New Rivers restaurant. Baked Alaska was good and we enjoyed the Corn cake with corn ice cream.
Nicholas M — Google review
New Rivers was a good experience. Their menu is concise and looked like the intention was "local ingredients". I had looked at photos from others and was excited to try what they had to offer. The calimari was perfectly light and tender. Their buns were yummy. The pickles, did not have pickles, but had pickled zucchini, onions, but no actual pickles. Entrees were good, not mind blowing. Pork chops and apricots go very well together. The fritters were delicious. The char was not out of the ordinary. I think for the price, the food did not hit the mark. The drinks are great and I'll be back to try it again to see if a new seasonal menu changes my mind.

We went for dinner for a weeknight in early September. Reservations were available on short notice and missed the college parent crowds. First time here after hearing about it for a number of years. We shared a couple of appetizers and really enjoyed the cheese/charcuterie board and calamari. Calamari was crispy and sauces were delicate. Cheese board was also delicious and we liked that we could mix and match. Not many places offer pate, so we enjoyed having that as an option. The gnudi dish was the best of the evening. They’re something between a small dumpling and gnocchi, and were so incredibly tender! Sauce was very delicious and we highly recommend trying this dish. Entrees were okay, but not amazing. They’re known for their burger but I found it lackluster. Saddest part was the French fries were soft and tasteless. Burger meat was drier than it should be; likely too much fat rendered off during cooking. Bun had no integrity and didn’t hold up to the burger. Pork loin was good, but serving size was extremely small for an entree. There were only 3 slices of pork on the dish. Desserts were simple and well-executed, but not a highlight. Atmosphere can be very nice if not too loud. Great place for a date, grabbing light fare, or having a drink at the bar.

It seems they make a new menu daily; ours had the day we dined written on it. So I’m not sure if I’m able to exactly recommend anything specific but I loved the NY Strip Steak on 9/19. It was done perfectly. I was a huge fan. Highly recommend. I did expect the potatoes with it to be more crispy and the sauce to be more like au jus from the menu description but they were still really good! It was a long wait on even a Thursday so it’s highly recommended to plan in advance and make reservations. It’s like the food that north used to serve and that was one of my favorite restaurants. We ordered a charcuterie as well and I didn’t love it but that was my fault because I literally chose what I wanted in it. Overall, I still had a fantastic dinner and would try other things next time!
Nicole G — Google review
The food and atmosphere during our latest visit to New Rivers were both excellent, as expected. It was the service that really stood out on this visit. When we arrived, the hostess kindly made sure we sat at the table she selected for us, rather than the bar as we requested, because she selected the best table in the restaurant for us. From there, our server struck the perfect tone. Warm, hospitable, discreet, and attentive, she made sure that we were able to keep the night about us, rather than her service. She seemed to anticipate our needs, never interrupting at an awkward moment or lingering too long. We enjoyed a leisurely, intimate meal gazing at the city's twinkling lights. The food was, as always, excellent, a wonderful expression of seasonal New England fare, presented artfully. My favorites were the pumpkin hummus with crunchy root vegetables, which a perfectly refreshing, sensual way to start the meal. The scallops were also great, presented with a knockout green sauce and some perfectly-cooked potatoes and green beans. Highly recommended - get a reservation, skip lunch, invite the best conversationalists you know and tuck in for a great meal.

A little coffee shop. Peaceful, quite, clean. Today I had a small black brew coffee and a #1 Basic - which is a fresh bagel egg and cheese. New to the neighborhood and looking for my own coffee spot. This place is cute and kept popping up when I typed in vegan cafe. They had 1 vegan pastry option. I grabbed it. But unfortunately there’s plastic baked inside the middle. They do have oat and almond milk available. Their caramel and vanilla are dairy free. The sandwich options were very slim pickings despite being there around 11. Coffee is the best part here. It’s cute inside. Feels like the staff could clean up the dining area more throughout the day.

I've been coming here for years every now and then. The inside is totally charming and approachable - exactly the type of place in which I like to have a pastry or sandwich. Was just here on Friday and had an egg sandwich on an everything bagel along with a pastry; way above average on both counts - lots of flavor. I particularly like that they bake all of their own stuff (you can see the baking room in back), get creative and try new things, and have a progressive, inclusive value system.

Plus the music was good there. The description prominently features that this restaurant is eco-friendly, however, other than the organic food choices and the ability to recycle, the food is served on single use parchment paper and my dine-in drinks were served in plastic cups. The food is definitely fresh and delicious and the pricing— being in the nice area that it is— is quite good; me and the person I was with were able to get both of our meals with a fresh pressed drink for about $15.

The melon matcha tonic was delicious, and they hand-whisked their matcha which I never get to see at busy cafés! My only complaint was that the flat white wasn’t great. Also, the music was not loud at all so really good for a chill study spot that isn’t overwhelming!

KNEAD Doughnuts is a popular spot in Providence known for offering a variety of gourmet donuts and beverages in a spacious and inviting setting. The doughnuts are made using local ingredients like milk, eggs, fresh yeast, and real vanilla bean to ensure quality. With traditional cake doughnuts, dessert-inspired flavors, and seasonal options like cider and maple glazed, choosing just one can be challenging.
There seems to be a debate for the best donut shop in the area, and I can say it's Knead Doughnuts, hands down. I've been going to this location since they opened, and the quality has been consistent throughout the years. Yes, the donuts are a little pricey, but they're really big and really delicious. I haven't recieved a single dry donut from them. My all-time favorite is the raspberry fritter, which tastes like tart, fresh raspberries, and I really like old fashioned cake donuts with the hard glaze. I haven't tried the gluten free donuts, but the vegan ones are just as good as the regular ones. An honorable mention would be the jelly donut because the jelly tastes like fresh jam. If you are picky about donuts and like a hard glazed cake donut, or a fluffy yeast donut, they have both, and both are great. I do recommend going as early as possible to make sure you get the ones you want.

Super cute on the inside, great customer service- the employees were so kind and helpful. They did not have crounuts? when I went (on a weekday) but I did try their jelly donut and coffee cake donut. The raspberry jelly was good but it took many bites to get to the jelly, because it was so sweet and rich, it was overwhelming at the end and I couldn’t finish it. On the other hand, the coffee cake donut was delicious- award winning. Everything was super fresh and tasted delicious.

Knead to try harder…mediocre donuts at epicurean prices. Purchased two donuts, an expired milk and a water for $15. Donuts were day olds…despite being there an hour after opening. Good flavor (blueberry lemon and strawberry shortcake) but super dry to the point we didn’t finish. They were nice an about the expired milk and then checked the whole case, but were nonverbal during the purchase. Clearly not morning people.

This is a really cute doughnut shop with a nice variety of fresh high quality donuts. We came on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t too busy and they had a great selection of donuts and pastries to choose from. The service was great too. We got a brown butter pecan donut and a mocha old fashioned donut. The brown butter pecan donut was one of the best donuts I’ve ever had. It was so big and fluffy and had so many little pecan pieces coating it. The mocha old fashioned was good too but the texture wasn’t quite as good and I didn’t taste much coffee flavor. This is a great a great spot with delicious donuts! We’ll be back for sure and will recommend it to friends!

I came in skeptical, and unfortunately, the donuts didn’t win me over. The chocolate frosted with sprinkles and vanilla glazed tasted basic - definitely not worth the premium price. The pecan was the best of the bunch, but overall, it felt overhyped. I’m a PV Donut guy.
Dan M — Google review
Came here looking for a good apple fritter and the apple fritter was good not the best it could be but still yummy. The vanilla glaze is a good choice as well but I hated the chocolate frosted. The donut was dry, the frosting seemed store bought and the sprinkles were not enjoyable. I also got a cinnamon roll donut and it look so promising but there was not cinnamon throughout it was just a plain donut with cinnamon glaze. It was also a bit pricy $6/donut is a bit steep considering the quality.

Amazingly this place is never crowded on weekday mornings making it an excellent meeting or study spot. The cinnamon buns are unparalleled in my opinion, flakey, buttery with just the right amount of sweetness. No espresso drinks, but their coffee is solid.

This delightful eatery offers a menu brimming with comforting options reminiscent of your mother's cooking, featuring an array of sandwiches, salads, and classic American breakfast dishes. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty Steak & Cheese Hoagie or fluffy blueberry pancakes made from scratch, each bite is sure to satisfy your cravings.
Food was great. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Nice size portions for the money. Nice little find.

Food is good, but I was overcharged today. Should cost $2 to get a side of fries with the purchase of a burger. The guy charged me $7.25 for a plate of fries. Photo of plate attached. Very tasty fries, and the burger was good, too. Would give a better rating aside from the poor service at the register. P.S. a guy at the table next to me was charged $29 for two pancakes and a bowl of chili. Maybe the guy working the register today needs training or the prices are kind of high here.

I really wanted this place to be better than it was. My son had a chocolate milk, a side of bacon and and full stack of chocolate chip pancakes, I had an orange juice and a bacon and cheese omelette and it was 74 dollars before tip. It wasn’t 74 dollars good and that’s the problem for me. When you walk in, you walk up to order, then find your seat. If our meal total was like 40 then this would have been 5 stars for the value. I will say the orange juice was amazing clearly hand squeezed.

This is a classic spot on Thayer St. I love that Meeting St has stuck around through all of the iterations of this area. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is solid but the coffee leaves a bit to the imagination. I enjoyed my veggie omelet with cheese and potatoes. Overall, a solid option for a casual breakfast.

Food was good, coffee good. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. Friendly and quick service.A bit pricey at $15.34 with tax compared to other places with same food. Place was comfortable, however I noticed many stained ceiling tiles.

Very tasty and well made food. It didn't take long to receive our meals. Bagels seemed about a day old though. Clean but average interior. Overall, good stuff.

All day breakfast plus a plentiful lunch selection leave room for a fickle appetite, and do not disappoint in either quality or quantity. Service is great, good attitudes, but can be rather slow in terms of turnaround. Worth the wait. For more details, check out my full review here: bit.ly/meetingstreet-review

Ordered the Thanksgiving sandwich, and something wasn’t right. Something taste like the cold from the refrigerator and really bad. I took it apart so I can see what was in the sandwich that had that taste and it was the stuffing, omg the taste and smell of it was so putrid I called and they tell me that they tasted it and that, that’s how they do stuffing there and I said that’s sad. They did however refund me my money fairly fast so grateful for that.

Restaurant and backery. Lots of backed sweet and savory. Tasty innovative sandwiches. Tasty soups. Very delicious food in general. Lots of drinks. High quality ingredients. Fast service. Very polite helpful staff. Nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

The woman at the register was nice and helpful. This location has plenty of seating. After lunch time, there were people in here on their laptops working in the booths. It seems like it would be a comfortable spot for that. I remember the bread being better here when I was younger but it’s fine. This location does not have a drive through because it’s located inside the mall.

I ordered 8/21 they gave the Dasher the wrong order. I called and they said they were going to remake it and send me my order. That was almost 2 hours ago now and nothing happened. This isn't the first time they've messed up either, another time they promised to remake it and add a dessert. I got my food, cold, so it wasn't remade and no dessert. Stop promising things you're not going to actually do for the customer.

Yoleni’s Providence is a unique combination of a food market and cafeteria that brings the flavors of Greece to the heart of Providence. Located in the historic Tilden-Thurber building, it offers classic Greek fare, cheeses, nuts, and other groceries. The menu features hand-crafted gyros for a quick lunch, as well as options like avocado toast with salmon or bacon for breakfast. Visitors can also indulge in Greek yogurt with wild berries, cherries, granola or walnuts.
This restaurant has became one of our favorite ones. The ambiance is amazing, the service is always friendly and accommodating and the food is the best! Everything is so flavorful, fresh and scrumptious that we find ourselves craving it often. It really is an amazing experience to visit this place. It is located in a very nice area. A plus for us is all of their vegan options. We have tried all of them and their flavors are outstanding. Their flatbread with vegan cheese is delicious. Their pita bread is unlike any other and their dips are fresh and house made. We were not familiar with Greek food but we are certainly hooked and cannot wait to go back!

Great vibe with superbly nice staff. We had taken the bus from New York to providence and needed a place to kill some time for a few hours before our friends picked us up. This place was great and had good food and cool drinks that tided us over until dinner. We were not the hugest fans of the homemade bread pita chips, but I’m sure they are someone’s cup of tea. I liked how there was a lot of options that could help anyone even if they were a picky eater. They also had TVs showing how to cook things which added a cool dynamic. Overall if I find myself back in providence I’ll check it out again.

Based just on food, this would be 4 stars. However, the total experience is why it makes 5 stars. We ate a lot of items in the menu. Excellent -White Wagu - truffled up deliciously -Saganaki Shrimp - tied for number 1 -Pita bread - yes it’s that good -White Ragu - very heavy, delicious. Share it with the table. -Spreads platter -the Market Very Good -Lamb Shank -baklava -Cheese and Meat platter Passable - sea bass, the fish was overcooked. It wasn’t very flavorful, 2 people got it, neither finished it. Skip it. - eggplant. Might be a traditional dish but the sweetness of the meat was a turnoff. We didn’t finish it.

Didn't try their food but everything looked amazing. It smelled amazing as well. Clean, cozy, neat, very bight, and very well decorated. I do want to actually try food there.

Extremely disappointed by this place. The salmon salad I ordered was full of mold lettuce, with only a slice of smoked salmon and almost no veggies/ no quinoa. I think there was less than a teaspoon of quinoa and half a radish to work on !!! For the mold, the pictures speak for themselves.... The waiter was kind enough to add a bit more of quinoa but I won't go again for sure.
华华 — Google review
Unexpectedly delightful inside and out! We stumbled up on the Yoleni’s restaurant while sauntering through the streets of Providence. The interior is well decorated with light colored wood paneling, indirect warm accent lighting, and accented with hardware and fixtures which pay tribute to the history of the building in which it is housed. The prices were acceptable, the food was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a main dining area with an upstairs balcony which includes restrooms and a bar. The back of Yoleni’s boasts a large area for purchasing goods and knickknacks. The building Tilden – Thurber was built in 1895 and occupied by a jeweler’s firm (of the same name) until 1990. It then became a fine antiques shop before changing hands into a restaurant. Designed by Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge, of Boston, this building is a monument to turn of the latter century architecture which shows experimentation with classic styles yet tries to incorporate the newer building methods of steel frame structure.
Curtis G — Google review
Updated review: Yoleni's seems to still be having some difficulties with working out their timing when it comes to presenting their patrons with the food they've ordered for lunch. Granted, we haven't been here yet for dinner (only lunch), so maybe it's better after 6 pm. However, each time we've ordered food, it just seems to take longer than necessary to get it (even when there isn't a line), and one time there seemed to be a disagreement between one of the chefs and one of the servers. It was awkward standing there, waiting for the food to be ready, when coworkers just seemed to be irritated with each other. A recent review in the Boston Globe drove us to finally try this place. What a beautiful store/restaurant! If you're interested in trying authentic Greek cuisine, Yoleni's Providence should be on your list. We ate here just before the dinner changeover, so the items on the menu were more lunch-oriented, but still delicious. My wife had the eggs Benedict, and I had the moussaka pocket. Both we're excellent, only exceeded by their hospitality. I look forward to trying their dinner menu soon.

Used to love the dark roast coffee...last 2 times definitely different. Less boldness, flavor. I was reassured by staff the proportions had not changed. Tried again, weak again. Back to Coffee Exchange. Always good, every time.
Claudia P — Google review
It’s really rare that I leave a negative review, but the expensive cake slices we had at L’Artisan yesterday were freezer-burned to the point where one was completely inedible. I went back to ask for a different slice, which is bad considering I seriously never send anything back. The two staff who were there were super nice about it, which I definitely appreciated. The pastry I traded for was better, but still tasted like a dirty freezer. I was especially bummed to know they were frozen at all. I assumed that for the price ($20 for 2 cake slices) they would be freshly made. I highly recommend you skip this place and go to Madrid Bakery instead.

I was very disappointed in the desserts I ordered from this bakery. Looking at all the photos I was hoping for something amazing. The desserts were delivered frozen solid and weren't in great shape. The food looks amazing on the pictures. Please don't decide not to eat here because of one experience. Everyone has bad days.

Excellent place to go grab a salad/snack/sandwich and a coffee. I've had the lattes and the cappuccinos, which were both 10 out of 10 stars. The food options are vast, and everything is SO fresh. As you can see from my picture, the patio area is a very nice spot to hang out during the day.

Enjoyed an iced cappuccino and a lemon poppy seed muffin. Greeted by a friendly staff and service was great. Enjoyed my breakfast on the patio. Ample seating indoors and outdoors. I'll definitely visit again and maybe try lunch next time.

I honestly thought the chai latte was atrocious. Sickeningly sweet and very watery. I couldn’t even eat the tiramisu, it had no coffee fragrance whatsoever. Ended up throwing everything out. Not sure how it’s rated so highly, maybe I took the wrong things. Also, everything came in a plastic container even though I sat there and not to go. The premises are nice, however. There is an outdoor seating area and the staff are friendly. I’ll give them that. Otherwise, I truly wish I saved my 12$ for something else.

In addition to their impressive coffee selection, the cafe offers delicious brunch options such as avocado toast with smoked salmon and vegan tomato soup made with locally sourced ingredients.
Casual little spot. The pictures make it look a lot bigger than it is, but it's cute! Great place to stop by for a bite if you're waiting for an AM or afternoon train. We are heading back to NY today and decided to stop by for breakfast. Our food was delicious! We got the Savory Toast & the Bolo Breakfast Sandwich, which consists of fried egg, quality prosciutto, sharp cheddar, Sriracha aioli and delicious limey avocado. I didn't know what bolo bread was, (apparently a Portuguese muffin) but it was wonderful! I added a little Franks to it and scarfed it down in 5 minutes. The coffee is smooth and fabulous ☕ Prices are great. 10/10 recommend!

This clean, bright cafe was close to the hotel where I stayed for work, so I gave it a try. I grabbed a coffee, overnight oats and macaroons. I liked the quality and service enough to go back a second time to try their coconut espresso martini. It was just what I needed after a long day. I recommend the Cookie Monster macaroon if they have it in the case (blue with chocolate chip filling).

Wow!!! The egg sandwich h was phenomenal! A generous amount of avocado, the egg was made a little runny (the way I like it), the bread was unlike any English muffin or biscuit I’ve had. It was fantastic! Also, the Aussie treats like Lamington and chausson pastry with spinach and cheese were phenomenal. The coconut water was great too but it took several people trying to get it open.

The breakfast sandwich on a fresh biscuit was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in Providence! I'd recommend that you pay the extra $2.00 for the biscuit upgrade and not skimp; it makes a big difference. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich on an English muffin and it was good, but not quite as good as on the biscuit. The coffee here is also excellent. If you're planning to stay at the cafe, you should know that it can be tough to get a table. A lot of customers seem to study or work here for extended periods, so tables only infrequently become available. I'd recommend ordering your food and drink to go by default whenever you visit; you can always nab a table if you're lucky enough to have one become available while you wait for your order.
Andrew Z — Google review
Way over priced and in need of good management. Three people behind the counter too busy talking to each other to be bothered to help customers. Said they would bring my cappuccino to me then left it on the counter getting cold. When I asked if they could warm it up, they poured it back into the frother mixing it into hot coffee milk. All this for $6. Beautiful location on a nice day but suggest you go to the museum and skip the coffee shop. Much better places nearby.

My family and I recently visited the RISD Museum in Rhode Island, and it was a memorable experience. After enjoying the impressive art collections, we decided to grab some drinks from Cafe Pearl. We ordered a mocha latte, an Americano, and a hot chocolate. However, when I tried to pay, my credit card was declined multiple times since it wasn’t a US card. I only had enough cash to cover the hot chocolate. I asked the staff to cancel the rest of the order, but to our surprise, they generously told us not to worry and gave us the mocha and Americano for free. Their kindness truly made our visit special. Thank you.

I really enjoy their sencha. Would love even more green tea options. Matcha is decent too but matcha is so expensive everywhere, esp for a small cup. Often hard to find a seat. I usually see a lot of students there who don't appear to have purchased anything which unfortunately takes up some of the seats. Overall a great place - happy it exists. Most of the staff is very nice.

Had an ice coffee and muffin. Coffee was bitter and cashier was not even a little friendly. Asked for a lot of cream and did not get much. Didn't ask if I wanted it sweetened. Later I asked somebody else for sugar and was offered the simple sugar liquid by a more pleasant person. The muffin was dry. I would not return for coffee, muffins, or unfriendly service.

The staff was nice, the atmosphere chill and friendly, the environment clean and cool, but DAMN are the drinks unsatisfactory. Fall Latte was extremely watery, either there’s too much water or the milk is not quality. Quite disappointing for a price of $5.75 + taxes.

Cute cafe tucked next to Farm Fresh. We stopped by in the afternoon for coffee and ended up having two delicious cocktails on their outdoor seating. Update; I’ve been regularly coming here like once or twice a week for a while now. The coffee is consistently done perfect and all the baristas definitely know how to make a good latte. Most other places in the area can’t. So cute. Huge ceilings. Fun little cafe set up. Plugs along the walls. There were a decent amount of people who seemed to be remote working in the cafe inside and at the patio seating outside. They have like “coffee classes” which I don’t know what it means even but they set it up all cute in there and you can see the giant coffee machine thing through windows on the sides of the cafe. Free Wi-Fi and plenty of seats and places to buy coffee making material for your own home as well. Air conditioning was at the perfect temp and my barista girl made my decaf mocha latte perfectly

For students or alumni, it's a lovely place to hang out. The coffee was delicious, and the staff were really helpful.

Fantastic. They made me the best iced mocha I've had since I've been back in the US, exactly to order, and the bagels are great. They have less wasteful packaging than most places these days, too; not super-eco, but they haven't completely given up, like most coffee places in New England. And there are lots of places to plug in a laptop and chill by a window. I'll definitely be back.
Mik S — Google review
A truly lovely café filled with the energy of RISD students. It is usually busy, so count for at least waiting in line for a few minutes, but the coffee and the pastry are really good. If you are not a student, i.e., a faculty or a staff member, please have some cash so that you can tip. There is no way to tip with a card (I think the contractor has to fix this).

Cafe Zara & Coffee House is a charming spot located at 130 Taunton Ave East Providence, RI 02914. It offers a delightful experience with its delicious coffee and delectable food options. The cafe's presentation of plates and the perfect coffee have received high praise from visitors. The menu features items like the "Galao," salmon, baguettes, Chai lattes, and Chourico baguettes.
I was looking for a highly rated cafe in the area, and this place didn't disappoint. It was extremely busy when we went, but we were serviced very quickly. The prices were excellent for how fresh and delicious the food/drinks were. We ordered avocado toast, burrata toast, the RI latte, and the pasionfruit spritz. Every single thing was incredible. They also offer decaf espresso and non dairy milk options.

Great cafe, fresh ingredients make a difference. We ordered avocado toast and a breakfast sandwich with a chai tea latte and a cold brew coffee. Simple yet very yummy. The fact that you can order on line makes a huge difference.

The food was fresh and delicious. Just as well, the prices were affordable. Service was quick with wait time only a few minutes. The atmosphere was gorgeous with multiple seats looking out into Providence proper. Great place for catching up with friends while the sun bleeds in from the many windows. Overall a great place for a morning breakfast.

Just paid $6 for a cup of ice thank you Zara❤️❤️❤️I’ve been here many times usually to grab food however I don’t know how yall get by on your day to day doing this to customers. First and last coffee here. It is insulting and disrespectful to say the least. Any coffee shop in Providence that has better coffee is somehow cheaper, in a better location, and here’s the kicker, they don’t fill the entire cup with ice to skimp on coffee. Will never be back but I figured I would make this public service announcement for the other true brew lovers out there don’t bring your business to this establishment.
Daniel T — Google review
This place is PHENOMENAL. Like, not even exaggerating. The deserts are delicious, the actual food is INCREDIBLE and the drinks are DELICIOUS. I love cafes and this one really does stand out above the rest. Never have I consistently come to the same cafe week after week after week. Like, they treat every order with importance. Like I ordered just toast and butter and honestly it was so amazing, I couldn’t eat anything for the rest of the day. Butter and toast will NEVER be as good as this was. If they do this with just butter and bread, imagine the actual meals. The Lisbon Morning or the Burrata Toast. INSTANT faves of mine. Try it out for sure!!!!

I love this cute cafe. Currently obsessed with their iced chai. Their breakfast sandwiches are yummy. The smoked salmon toast and BLTA is bomb, of course I've had both, I'm a foodie 😋

I love this place, the food is amazing, management is amazing. But there is this one girl who works there almost everyday that has such a bad attitude she has officially made me move on a find a new coffee spot. She is the shortest one there with brown hair and brassy highlights… just avoid her. Last time I was there my boyfriend was up at the counter for me, due to issues with her in the past, and overheard her telling another coworker she was going to do something to my sandwich. He interjected and told her that’s not cool. I decided that was the last time I would go. I’ve also tried to speak with someone regarding her behavior and have gotten no where. Maybe if they hired staff above a certain age they wouldn’t run into this problem? Not sure. If you’re ordering carry out you’re probably good, just be careful when interacting with some of the staff.
Amberlynn T — Google review
My husband and I went on Saturday morning before a hike and it was 10/10 delicious. I ordered a maple latte and my husband ordered a mocha latte, the espresso wasn’t burnt and they weren’t too sweet. We thought, let’s go back Sunday again before walking our dog, and they’re CLOSED! It was such a heartbreaker. Highly recommend moving your closed day to a week day, I think you’d get a lot of business on a Sunday, no other good coffee close.

Cafe La France, one of the top coffee shops in Providence, stands out with its distinct French influence. This charming cafe offers a wide selection of coffee and tea options, making it an ideal destination for a beverage break. The menu boasts an array of delectable choices ranging from sweet treats to savory delights. What sets this cafe apart is its commitment to freshness – everything served here is made with fresh ingredients.
My go-to spot every time I’m pass through providence station! Gotta get “The Roma (Grilled cheese)”
RomeROT — Google review
The obvious and easy choice for a coffee and snack prior to a train ride. If you get the bagel, asked to have it toasted. But also asked to get the bagel cut in half. That'll make it easier during your train ride.

Very affordable, quick, convenient breakfast While waiting for the train for work we decided to grab a quick breakfast. I have to say, these folks work fast! The sandwiches here are freshly made with local ingredients. Which I was not expecting from a small cafe.

this place is really amazing. extremely fast service, kind and friendly faces, some of the best coffee i’ve had in providence anywhere. plus, they actively advocate for others and stand on the right side of history. i’d recommend stopping here even if you don’t have a train to catch!
Cailey T — Google review
Rude customer service experience at the register with Riley, who was sarcastic and displayed a lack of professionalism and customer care. There was also a short, blonde-haired woman who was writing notes to and smirking at the young girl at the register who didn't speak or greet..yuck; based on prior reviews, she appears to have had similar issues in the past.
Rhonda O — Google review
The cafe’s pretty great for a train station option. They’ve tried to keep a good decor, the menu is good (way better than a train station cafe can be expected to have) and the prices reasonable. They’re a bit slow on the service, but there’s quite a few takeaway snacks and beverages to choose from if you’re in a hurry. Try out the local Narragansett creamery yoghurt in particular.

Hookah bar
Mazaj Cafe is a cozy hookah lounge in Providence that invites you to unwind in its warm, red-walled ambiance. With plush sofas and a friendly vibe, it’s the perfect spot for casual gatherings with friends. Not only does Mazaj offer an impressive selection of flavorful hookahs, but it also serves up delicious wraps, salads, desserts, and espresso drinks. The establishment stands out for its BYOA policy—allowing guests to bring their own alcohol—which makes for an economical night out.
Wonderful night out for a dear friends birthday. The atmosphere is lovely. The hookah was really clean and they are using disposable hoses. BYOB so you save a lot of money on a night out. Great, fast service. Highly recommend I’m taking another friend there this weekend for birthday 🎂 🎁.
M A — Google review
The owner is greedy !!we ordered two hookahs but they put no more than 10 grams of molasses in each bowl so the hookahs last only 15 minutes and became harsh and we tasted only coals flavor . The waitress was nice and polite

James B — Google review
$20 cost for BYOB and the hookah SUCKED. Like I don’t usually do this but they charged us $25 for a digiorno pizza meanwhile the place looked like it’d been stuck together with modge podge and glitter. 0/10 absolute scam DONT GO HERE!
Lemon F — Google review
Went here with some friends, have been here a few times before and had great experiences. Clearly is under new management now but we were charged for water, not allowed to bring outside drinks like Gatorade in but people could bring alcohol bottles. After about an hour we were told we have to leave unless we bought a refill for the hookahs we had. Tip was included in the bill so we didn't even have a choice in tipping, which wouldn't matter if we weren't getting kicked out. The staff was very rude, will not return.
Katerina A — Google review
Best hookah bar around for actually smoking hookah. They offer all of the gimmicky heads and flavors but consistently have the best and longest hitting hookahs in Providence. The best part is the establishment is BYOA (Bring Your Own Alcohol) so you can save money by bringing your own beer or booze. On weeknights they don't blast the music which makes for a very relaxing atmosphere. It doesn't look like much, but this is my favorite hookah bar for the hookah smoking experience alone.
Alex — Google review
Love this place. The staff are always very friendly, music is always good. Love the fact that I can bring my own drinks and the hookah is always great. Make sure to get here early on the weekends, tables are hard to get with how busy it gets
E D — Google review
Someone please tell the owner to stop having his personal card games there with his buddies. It's a hookah spot, where there's music, drinking and a good time. It's so unprofessional and so many times I've walked in and back out...needs better management and definitely should consider redoing the bench chairs, they have holes in them. Also switch up the music. We put request in and it takes forever if ever to get played. Better management, certainly not impressed.

Bolt Coffee is a local specialty coffee roaster located in the Dean Hotel. They serve up great coffee in sleek and modern decor. They have three retail locations and a production facility, making them one of the popular chains around Providence. Their coffee is fantastic, so don't hesitate to visit!
First I should say this is more of a food place than a coffeeshop, at least the branch located at Dean Hotel, which is the subject of this review. We ordered breakfast food here, Deviled Eggs and Stewed Beans, you can check the photos and spot their actual photos and ingredients in there. We also got coffee, which was served like a brunch place coffee; however, it tasted much different from a typical American brunch restaurant coffee. Overall, if you’re looking for an actual coffeeshop with a variety of coffee drinks, this location is not yours. If you’re looking for experimental brunch menus, this is a nice place to try. As seen in the menu you won’t find typical American brunch menu items. Last but not least, this building used to be a church, which was converted to a night club (or something like that), and now it is a hotel and this coffeeshop is in its first floor.
Yashar A — Google review
I am a big fan of bolt coffee and love this location because of the character. Not a ton of places to sit but what they do have is very comfortable and it is a cozy environment. I believe is here every time I’m in town and it’s always staffed with a nice barista and offers great pastries/donuts.
Brooks J — Google review
Place is located inside the Dean hotel with an entrance off the main street. The batista was friendly and made a great coffee! I tried the woodsman and the blueberry muffin which was great. There's a long wooden table you can sit at, along with some cushy chairs and couches. Atmosphere is very chill.
Danielle H — Google review
It’s a beautiful space! The coffee was pretty good, but we didn’t love the doughnuts-they were a little too dense. I was just visiting, but regular customers were moving in and out and chatting with the baristas. For the half hour I spent there, I was a part of the local culture.
Carrie — Google review
Good third wave coffee shop. Located off of the lobby of a quaint hotel, but does have it's own side door too. The cortado was delicious. No manual brew/pour over options, but the drip was a washed single origin from Honduras and was pretty good.
CJ H — Google review
I actually didn't initially plan to review this place, as it almost seems like apart of the Dean. But I really enjoyed my experience with them. Their coffee drinks are very well made and their staff seemed very professional and trained. After ordering drinks one of the baristas asked me what our plans were, and so I explained the place we ended to have breakfast. He quickly got out his laptop and showed me another place that was even closer with more options. He even let me scroll through the menu. This was consistent with the type of service that The Dean offered in general, very personal and helpful. I'd stop in at the Bolt even if I weren't staying there!
Anna S — Google review
Great eclectic coffee shop in the heart of Providence roasting their own beans. Americano was on point and the Barista was super friendly and informative. Highly recommend checking this place out. Excellent Third Wave experience. They also have a second location.

Cozy little spot for a quiet cup sitting on their couches or stop by and get it to go. The coffee is delicate and a great morning roast in my opinion. They have some knead donuts first thing. This place was good. The ladies that worked there was cool. The place is on the small side and not to much sitting. The menu is nice big n clear to read. There are a good amount of items to choose from. They have the choices of small, medium, and large cups. Now please know you are not going to get the same size cups if you ate use to going somewhere like dunkin. The cups here are smaller. The coffee was fresh no burned taste and the smoothies are made with real fruit and vegetables. They will add or subtract whatever you do or don't want. The wait was not to bad especially knowing you were getting it fresh. Just know the traffic and parking is terrible. You are going to pay for quality.

do you guys use a tablespoon to measure your portions? Not only is your staff extremely rude and unfriendly but your ice cream scoop portions are embarrassing especially in comparison to all local places. I think if you are going to make the change from the nice coffee/ breakfast / lunch place to an ice cream only joint you should probably invest in being a comparable ice cream place with good customer service to sustain the longevity of your business

Spinach and Cheese Breakfast burrito last month: well made and cut in half, fairly tasty and then realised there was so much cheese , the grease was leaking out everywhere. Couldn't finish the last couple of bites. Perhaps less chedder(fattier cheese) and more feta? It was a bummer. Today tried the Pesto Panini and it was OK. Pesto was tasty and tomatoes fresh, chicken and and bread were....eh. Really have high hopes for this cafe, as there's not much open on weekends, and not only do we as RISD employees look for good spots to grap lunch, we also LOVE recommending places, especially Hazel. Staff has been great on my two visits, and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Cannot comment on coffee or beverages. Chairs, tables and benches are inviting. However, the all black walls and too-loud music make it less attractive to stay and enjoy. Will give it another try for food next month and see how it goes.

Super packed the day that I went, but somehow it was the calmest Starbucks I’ve ever been to. This location seems perfectly staffed, and I love that the baristas don’t yell out names while people are studying. The warm moody lighting makes it a perfect addition to campus. Cutest Starbucks I’ve ever been to. Also!! Every time I see the lavender matcha it’s always gray and ugly and the cold foam ends up as a really thin layer. But at this location it was vibrant and had the perfect consistency! I love when baristas love to make drinks and do their best to make it work. With this particular drink it’s not realistic to expect this outcome every time, but I really appreciate the innovative approach that went into making the presentation as good as possible 🪻🍵

I am not a student at JWU, but I pick my husband up from work nearby, and this is a good place to kill time if necessary. I am always impressed by the friendliness, efficiency and proficiency of the staff; in fact, I have found that these students are better trained (and more polite) than at most regular Starbucks locations. Gets busy sometimes (I am guessing right before or after classes) but in between the rushes, it is actually pretty quiet, and it is usually filled with kids studying.

Even when it's busy there's never too long of a wait, if you go there past dinner time though expect them to not have any pastries available Edit: After a month I can say that there is a huge wait around 11, if you have classes then plan at least 15 minutes if you really need it If you like sweet things but don't know what to order I like getting an iced white chocolate mocha with a couple liquid sugars and whipped cream (yes I know how unhealthy that sounds)

Quick service, decent latte. The photo below is not a croissant but this bakery calls it one. Then croissant did not have any air in it. The croissant is cut in half to add the almond filling which is not traditional in anyway it’s completely flat and frankly somewhat tasteless. We’re glad we ordered a sticky bun, which was quite good

Nestled in a prime location, this café boasts ample indoor seating along with a few outdoor tables, perfect for enjoying the fresh air on sunny days. The staff here are incredibly friendly and always willing to engage in conversation beyond just coffee orders.
I usually come here to grab a coffee before work. Coffees and muffins are great!

Great location and great staff! Plenty of indoor seating as a few outside tables for when the weather is nice. Coffee was spot on and they have plenty of other selections if dark black coffee is not your thing! Make sure to check out the super cool JFK picture hanging by entry way too! Staff were super friendly and took the time to answer a few non-coffee related questions. Walking distance to just about anywhere on Brown’s Campus too.

Excellent coffee with super helpful staff. Water is always available to sip as you sit inside or out. I like their variety of goods as well as beverages. Great place to soak up the sun or cool down inside. I frequently stop here and use the tokens when I make a purchase. These are used to donate to worthy charities and causes.

GREAT COFFEE. Latte is perfect, staff is so, so nice. Only warning: don’t get pastries there. It’s not the fault of staff but they sell the driest muffins in the world. Just go for coffee, which they do really well.

Best Coffee I’ve found so far. I love strong coffee and cannot stand when coffee shops have weak coffee. I usually order an iced americano with a splash of almond milk and two sugars. I love building my own egg sandwich with the Asiago bagel. I have a broken leg right now so I’ve been ordering Blue State through DoorDash every other day. Also they always put a cover on the hole of the lid which makes me feel safer having it delivered. Highly recommend.

Cafe La France is a convenient spot to grab a quick bite, offering a variety of sandwiches, flavored coffees, bagels, salads, and desserts. The "Mother Clucker" and "The Patriot" sandwiches are highly recommended. They also provide healthy options with the right portion size. However, some customers wish for improvements in the preparation of certain items like the black bean burger patty. Despite this, it remains a great place for lunch or coffee with its friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.
A nice healthy food option. Perfect amount of bread and portion size. I wish that black bean burger patty in the wrap was more grilled or provided on the side. By the time I received it, it became soggy. It was still tasty.

Good place to grab a quick bite. The serve primarily sandwiches which are all priced a little over $8. The "Mother Clucker" and "The Patriot" sandwiches are my personal favorites but they are all good! They also have different flavored coffees, bagels, salads, and several delicious desserts.

Bagel Gourmet Ole is a cozy cafe located in Providence, RI, known for its delicious bagels and friendly staff. Customers rave about the amazing breakfast options, particularly the tomato egg and cheese sandwich on a spinach bagel. The cream cheese selection is extensive and highly recommended. The authentic atmosphere adds to the experience, making it a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. In addition to their fantastic bagels, they also offer great prepared food options.
Their veggie breakfast burrito hasn’t changed at all in 12 years, and that’s a good thing. It’s weirdly hard to find a quality breakfast burrito these days, and BGO’s is fresh, not too heavy, and served with an amazing salsa.
Priya P — Google review
Love this place, the bagels is always top notch. I love that there is plenty of options. The best part, is having your bagel neat! Nothing falls off / apart. Very neat and organized, my go to is cinnamon raisin bagel, sausage, bacon, egg, American cheese, avocado and jalapeños with jalapeño cream cheese and a side of small black coffee. Pricey but worth it, and supporting local is always a plus.
Jose M — Google review
Very average bagel sandwich. Expensive for the quality and I don’t recommend the sausage. I would be interested in trying the Mexican food next time though
Anna N — Google review
I always found myself grabbing breakfast from this place for almost four years. And in those 4 years, they never failed to meet my expectations for a good breakfast Sandwich. The staff were lovely to talk to, even going further beyond to remember my order as my "usual" whenever I went in. Little to no wait time between their orders. The breakfast sandwiches were never anything but amazing. A great hole in the wall spot to grab breakfast before work.
Andrez G — Google review
The smell and sounds were all so genuine and rich in culture. Their bagels had their familiar crusty bite but just melted in your mouth once you start chompin' I ordered the Cinnamon Raisin bagel with a Cinnamon Raisin cream cheese spread. And as redundant as that sounds I think the spread fell too short of the markup price just by taste alone. Equally, the bagel was grilles which is a welcomed method of toasting, however, it had the grills residual flavors of garlic, salt, and some other questionable flavors left unrecognizable due to the other sweet flavors. I finished the bagel and spread with a med hot chocolate of SwissMiss and whole milk. It wasn't too hot, so I was pleased I could drink it right away. Overall 5 stars but the rookie mistake of a not so clean grill set the flavor profile a star below.

I get breakfast here just about every day. The bagels are amazing, they use fresh eggs so their sandwiches are delicious. I always get a tomato egg and cheese on a spinach bagel and it never disappoints. Theres a larger than average cream cheese selection and I haven't tried one I didn't like. PLUS everyone that works there is so kind and lovely. It's an amazing place!

Cozy, Moroccan-inspired cafe offering tea, coffee & homemade fare, including tajines & paninis.
Phenomenal chicken - so tender that just rips apart in your mouth. The hummus was delightful - chickpea flavor shone through with just a hint of spice/paprika. Thought the rice was a star in and of itself too - perfect balance of savoriness to the rest of the meal. Thought the music and decor had an authentically moorish feel. Servers did an excellent job. Would highly recommend for a meal in Providence!!

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS SURPRISE!! Parked in front of the restaurant while heading to another one but the food on other patrons’ plates looked too good to pass up. Food was amazing (it’s been a while since we’ve had food this tasty), the restaurant was cute and cozy, and the waitress was very nice. Had the lamb shank tagine, mussels tagine, and goat cheese/beet salad. The Mint tea was so good we ordered another tea to try after dinner.
Cleo — Google review
This is not your average sit down restaurant. You come in, grab a menu, order, then pay and await greatness. Please note that they have bigger menu than what is on Google and Yelp. I totally forgot to take a picture of the menu. All of the food is made to order so please be patient. We ordered the Mint tea lightly sweetened and the iced Hibiscus tea. Both very good. We ordered the bakoula, baked beets, Brie sandwich to start. Everything was delicious. The bakoula is like sautéed spinach and the baked beets are served with goat cheese and sliced almonds. You eat these both with Pita. The Brie sandwich was very good. It is served with mixed greens which are a bit bitter but the Brie and raspberry spread pair nicely together. We also order the tortilla de patata with is essentially a potato and egg quiche served with cherry tomatoes. It was Very good. It’s dimly lit but you can still read the menu and the Moroccan music in the background is at a respectable volume. They have a gender neutral bathroom which was nice and clean. They also have desserts and hookah.

Terrible place I drive from Mass just to eat Moroccan food my bf is not moroccan so i wanted to introduce him to my culture! Initially there was a sign that they were open and i initially checked their hours they open at 1pm on a Wednesday gets there its say they are open the door wont open so i knock this guy doesn’t open the door looks at me flips the sign to closed and walks away! I m ashamed and very very disappointed as a Moroccan who is just trying to eat and enjoy her culture! I would understand if he only spoke to me ! Said anything like we have an emergency or incident we are not open just yet! But NO nothing just walks away!

Frequently coming to Rhode Island Hospital, I stop by this restaurant a lot and find their food to be delicious and all. But what has made me dislike this establishment is the fact on the phone I somehow happened to hear an assistant manager who was yelling and sounded like the associate was being belittled. Working big corporate business, that is ethicially and morally inhumane and NOT professional nonetheless. Good food but better management needed.
Jevonte S — Google review
Food is good. Pricey!!! But good. Portions are a little petite for price. But if you've forgotten your lunch and main cafeteria is closed, it'll do. Sometimes the prices change. For instance you could order a sandwich on Monday and order the same sandwich on Tuesday completely different price! Idk. Maybe it's only 3rd shift where that happens. Frozen caramel latte is delicious! If made by first shift staff where they doubled the blender time! So good. Caramel macchiato is delicious also.

Most of the employees when I just went made it a little too obvious that they hated their jobs. It is shameful and unacceptable that every time I come into the store, the young lady, specifically on the afternoon shift, always has an attitude. I like my coffee prepared a certain way, and she prepares it however she thinks it goes. Then I say to her, “Hey, but I asked you for this. “She yells at you and says, “No, you didn’t,” but then charges me extra for it. And it’s always the same young lady.

The staff are pleasant in the actual cafe, but that's about it ! Food is poorly cooked with a limited menu. Coffee was luke warm, Restrooms are down the corridor and can only be accessed by obtaining the key from the reluctant security guard with an attitude and indignation that you dare ask to use their restrooms !! This cafe serves the building it's affiliated with, otherwise, I feel there are better options elsewhere!

Hi there, I’ve been a loyal customer for years and always enjoyed ordering my usual sandwich on a bulky (or torpedo) roll. Since the new ownership, I’ve noticed you’re often “out” of rolls, and now phone orders aren’t being taken. I understand you’re trying to move toward online ordering, but it’s frustrating that we can’t select bread options or speak to someone directly. I really hope you’ll consider bringing back the flexibility and friendly service that made your deli special. Many of us longtime customers would love to keep supporting you, but these changes make it hard to stay loyal.

Still excellent coffee. No indoor seating at the moment. Just a little outside tent set up. I like their morning glory muffin thing. No idea what’s in them but it’s so good. Nice texture. Two Years Ago; I like the staff here a lot. The inside itself is pretty small and I haven’t eaten here in over a year so maybe that’s changed. love their mocha when I stop for coffee

Turmeric citrus soda is made from scratch, super refreshing and delicious! Mine had little juicy bits of pulp that made it extra tasty and fresh. There is a little outdoor seating area (3 smallish tables and a couple benches) that is breezy and perfectly shaded from the late afternoon sun, and when I was here late on a summer Friday afternoon there weren't a ton of people crowding the area. A nice little peaceful break from the crowds further up Wickenden. I hope to come back and try the food soon!

This place is pretty neat and the drinks are good. I decided to try the seasonal ice tea and was pleasantly surprised. The kick of mint in it does leave you feeling refreshed. It’s take out only, but tables have been placed in the governor/wickeden square so you could always sit there or go for a 5 minute walk and enjoy India Point Park. Overall, nice coffee shop!

Paul S — Google review
I honestly disliked this place. Kind of surprised me because they have great reviews. I'll start with the coffee bc that was my biggest complaint. Ordered an iced mocha latte. My biggest complaint was the size to be honest. It came in a 12 oz cup. After ice, I received 8oz of coffee for $6. While $6 is fair across most coffee shops, that's in return for a 20-24 oz cup. So in reality, I would've paid 12$ for a "normal' large 24oz quantity. Now this would be moot if the coffee was AMAZING. However, sadly it wasn't. About average. I couldn't taste the espresso at all. And in a 12 oz cup, leads me to believe it was prob also a single shot. The mocha flavoring tasted like a legitimate cocoa powder. Which was really good. At the end. The coffee was average tasting, too small and over priced in my opinion. I provided a picture of the avocado toast instead of my coffee bc it was the better part of my experience there. The toast was thick and hearty and very good. More warm than toasty but that's not a legitimate complaint. Just preference. However I was disappointed to open the box and find a kind of DIY breakfast kit. Two pieces of bread and an avocado sliced in half with some freshly squeezed lime juice and dried chili flakes. The flakes added a unique kick that I've never tried before. If you don't like spicy. I'd definitely opt out of them. At 10$ tho, I feel this was just a little over priced especially since I had to make my own toast. The flavor was amazing otherwise tho. I gave this place 2 stars because I wasn't happy overall. Mainly just really expensive compared to other shops for what I got in return. The toast however was really good and paired with an average coffee. I can't complain about the taste. Just the price and DIY toast. I wouldn't go again personally. I'd recommend it to someone with a warning it's a bit expensive for what you get. They have a really good review overall tho. This is just my opinion and experience. So please keep that in mind.

Nice coffee shop in the hotel room. Cortado sure beats drip coffee but not the best in the city. I did enjoy the BEC sandwich. I did enjoy the ambiance!

This is one of the more spacious cafes I've come across in Providence. It has comfy seating, good music, and Stephen who works at the register is so friendly and helpful when you can't decide what to order. My favorite is the avocado toast and my boyfriend loves the sausage egg and cheese on brioche.

Loved being here as usual. The baristas always remember me even when I haven't been in a while. The banana nut muffin warmed up was phenomenenal and my coffee was fantastic. I love this place so much.

Stayed at the graduate hotel in a suite and and went down to get my free coffee with the token the front desk gives you at checkin. Went to order a sandwich and was told “I can’t make you any sandwiches” it’s just coffee. Was disappointed they only had muffins and some danishes. No bagels or fruit. Pretty minimal setup. And the free coffee is self serve drip coffee over by a separate area. The coffee was piping hot and pretty good so maybe that make up for the lack of food options.

The café offers an exquisite selection of fresh-squeezed juices, gourmet coffee, sandwiches, salads, pastries, and ginger shots. Visitors rave about the welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service.
Been going here for a number of years now, owners Peter and Pamela Cronin are bar none, THE nicest people on the planet, and that vibe permeates their business. Food is exquisite, coffee first rate, service exquisite. Great little spot nestled in Providence's historic East Side, amid world-class institutions of higher learning (Brown, RISD), and some of the most fantastic architecture from Colonial times. Easy walk to and from downtown as well.

Cute, little juice bar. Juices and smoothies are great. I haven’t tried their sandwiches yet. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful. The vibe is welcoming and comfy. They offer a rewards card. Buy six of any juicers, smoothie, coffee/teas and get your seventh beverage FREE 😊..... Parking can be a hassle sometimes. Only con is they have no bathroom! Overall, a great place and I would recommend to others.

AMAZING AMAZING PLACE. The entire group I was with didn't want to leave and we wanted to clone the place in our backyards. We couldn't choose from the endless selection of wonderful gourmet options from all the juices and smoothies, ginger shots, salads, paninis... I mean I was thorn for a half hour and wanted everything. This is truly one of a kind atmosphere, service and incredible menu. Someone please make this a franchise.

They delivered to my office, and I must say, I agree with another reviewer; these sandwiches are life changing. We got 4 sandwiches and they were all incredible, everything tasted just right. The Chicken Ciabatta won out for the overall favorite here. I can't judge on decor since I didn't pick up the food, but the food was incredible, and the guy who delivered was very nice as well.

God I love this place. Amazing muffins and a brilliant owner. I've gone a couple of times, and once forgetting to make my capp a double, the owner gave me a free drink on the house. Super classy, great ambiance, couldn't recommend enough.

This tiny juice bar a block or two in from Wickenden St is a delight!! Enjoy walls adorned with work from local artists, play board games or feel free to dig into their selection of books. I usually get an iced chai (one of the best in town) and "The Benefit", an amazingly delicious and hearty egg sandwich that must be tried to truly appreciate. The place is small, the menu is small but the staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. Outside seating available (when the weather cooperates of course). A+

Delish, huge hummus plate and green juices. Adorable cafe in a beautiful spot, cobblestones, Federal-style houses, charming owners. The seasonal lavender lemonade is so good! It’s just the perfect amount of sweet. I got another iced tea, I forgot the name and it was pleasant as well. There’s a cool room in the back too! They are vegan friendly as well. The only reason I only put 4 stars is because the staff aren’t very friendly and service is mediocre. Other than that though, great place!

Very comfy & welcoming tea spot that serves a large variety of quality tea as well as sandwiches, crepes, and pastries. Open area and space with plenty of seating options. Starbucks is a renowned coffeehouse chain originating from Seattle, offering its distinctive roasts, light snacks, and WiFi access. The Biltmore location provides a tranquil atmosphere with minimal crowding. However, some customers have noted that the menu display may be distant and faded. While previous reviews mentioned feeling rushed during ordering, recent updates indicate positive changes in staff behavior and improved ambiance. Customers praise specific employees for their exceptional service and ability to establish strong connections with patrons.
So made an early stop at Starbucks near Brown University this morning... I think it was CJ, who opened the door where I was their first customer.... The locale has been renovated to better serve it's change in customer traffic, with a massive increase coming from online and app driven orders... A little different seating arrangement from the past, but still the same atmosphere and staff interaction. Nice Job.
David I — Google review
Standard Starbucks. The only issue I have is the prioritizing of the drive-thru. It took 20 min for our mobile order to be made upon arrival. That was after placing the order before leaving. Walking 5 min. And going inside and waiting for 15 min. We finally had to ask and our order was on the screen but was being overlooked for the cars. 5 min later we left coffee in hand. That pattern has persisted. Now we order sooner before leaving the house or do the drive-thru if in a rush.
Ricky J — Google review
I go to this Starbucks location every day - sometimes twice! Super friendly staff-they go the extra mile to learn who you are as a person not just a drink! Staff led by an amazing manager Laurie and newly promoted (much deserved!) assistant manager Brian that also go above and beyond to make your customer experience super memorable! Highly Recommend 100 Gold Stars!! Warm regards, “No Name”
Tinamarie G — Google review
I placed an order through the app and got in line at the drive thru at the time the app said it would be ready. It wasn’t and that was no big deal. When I got to the window they asked to see the order since they couldn’t find it. I showed them, and then I was told it would be just a few minutes (for a snack box and 2 pastries) still no big deal. After a minute, the same person came back and asked could they see the receipt details. I showed them that, they left and I could see them discussing it with a manager. The manager comes to the window and begins speaking down to me like a toddler, “Aww did you place the order a minute ago? is that why we cant see it?” I tell her no, and she continues speaking in a child like voice “ well next time, so you know, we need about four minutes after you place your order to receive it.” First of all, it’s already been 5 minutes since I entered the drive thru and with all the back and forth. Secondly, I am a middle aged woman- do not speak to me like I am a child. I tell her again that it’s been at least 10 minutes since I placed my order, and this fool goes “OH REALLY?” I point to the time stamp on the receipt of 2:33pm and she leaves the window without saying anything or apologizing for HER mistake. She starts chatting and laughing with another employee, comes back and tells me that I will have to pull around into drive thru again because they need more time to pull 3 premade snacks together. Racist, repugnant, disgusting, dishonest behavior.
M — Google review
Love this location! I have been following the Manager Laurie since she was at the Biltmore hotel downtown. She left RI but then came back. Now she is near my new job. Her team is fabulous but in particular her recent hire Marcus is the epitome of Starbucks. When Laurie retires he should be promoted to manager! His energy is infectious. He makes my day brighter.
Chalonda J — Google review
The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciate—they always greet customers with a “hi” or “good morning.” However, I think this location could improve the way drinks are made. I usually order a matcha frappuccino through the mobile app with specific requests for sweetness and strength, but it’s rare that I actually receive it as ordered. Sometimes the flavor is off, or the drink is so bland that I end up adding syrup myself. I never complain in person because I don’t want to be late for work, especially since this branch is always busy in the mornings. I make sure to allow extra time, but my drink often isn’t ready at the pickup time shown in the app. A few times, I’ve even seen a barista skip my drink and prepare simpler orders first, which is frustrating. As a regular customer, I really hope to see more consistency and improvement in the way drinks are made, so that the service matches the friendliness of the staff.

This has got to be the worst starbucks that i havw ever been to in my entire life. I try to give them a shot almost every sunday after i grocery shop. Every time my coffee is made wrong or tastes like just milk. I have been trying to give them a chance for a year now and every time it is the worst coffee. A bad coffee just ruins your day. I stopped going here for a few months and just came back to try again this morning and what do you know, cinnamon milk. I just always order a brown sugar shaken espresso. So disappointing.

Employee read back my order in drive through however didn’t receive two items. As soon as I brought it in and mentioned it to another one, she turned around and said she did not charge me for the items. I stated “I don’t know why”. Her and another woman proceeded to talk shit, be disrespectful, to the point when I went to walk out, the young girl was acting like she was going to fight me screaming from behind the counter. Of course when I said, are you going to come out side and do something? She acted like someone was holding her back Tons of customers in the building witnessing this. This is my local Dunkin so I went through drive through the next day, once again the order was wrong by the same person. Although she wasn’t at the drive through window, when I pulled off she started swearing and screaming. Reporting to Dunkin and better business bureau and I WILL BE GOING BACK.

First time I have been in this Dunkin donuts The staff was very rude to me (especially the person who has the fake red Hair) I ordered an ice coffee and the girl waiting on me started to make it then left it sitting half finished and started waiting on customers coming in the door She made other customers ice coffee and mine still sat there I finally spoke up after a few minutes and the person who has the red hair came over and started being rude to me There was one person working the register and 4 people working the drive through But the staff member with the red hair should not be working with the public because of his/her attitude and how she speaks to the customers

Quick service. Open for just early and lunch time. Closed by 2pm. Really liked the chicken tortilla soup! A cute little spot that I never even noticed even though I live right next to it because the PPAC is so distracting. Outdoor seating is how I even noticed them because someone had a dog outside.

I stopped by this morning to grab a quick bite before class, but my experience was far from what I expected. As a college student, I was just looking for a simple, convenient meal to start my day but instead, I found a hair in my sandwich. Definitely not how I wanted my morning to go. I called the restaurant, and while they did offer a refund, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the situation. It honestly felt like they didn’t care at all. A little customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately, I’m disappointed.

I had just finished shopping for the day & had a massive bag with a new coat inside. As I waited in line awkwardly trying to avoid hitting anything with my bag, I back into the reusable cup display knocking over 3 cups. I immediately picked them up and said sorry to an employee. One cup ended up being broken from falling off the shelf. It’s my turn to order now & the young man behind the counter awkwardly made me pay for the cup while smiling as if it was funny. I had mentioned it was a mistake & they still threw the book at me. Never in my LIFE have I had such an odd encounter where a store made me pay for a damaged item. Not to mention shouldn’t reusable cups survive more than one fall off of a table? Or how about the terrible way of displaying the cups in a public space? Either way, I was appalled even if this is a licensed Starbucks, they should’ve had the courtesy to simply write off the damaged merchandise as a business loss. Although it was only $20 it shows how terrible management is at this location. Any other Starbucks would never do that.

Service was super slow, and staff did not seem to care about acknowledging it (when there was a long line of customers) also sitting down at the tables behind, I saw 2 small mice 🐁 crawl across under their food storage. Place is definitely not cleaned. Will not be coming back.

I went up to order being the only customer and the two girls waited for it to be 8pm to tell me they are closed. Even after I explained I had been standing there for a while and only wanted one drink, they both acknowledged me and decided to wait for it to be closing time to tell me they couldn’t take me because they’re closed. I had been in line for over 10 minutes. Please do better with your staff.

Cool place at the mall to grab a coffee. However, I think they can invest a bit in getting more decent tables and chairs. Also, most of the time, these tables and chairs are dirty and not being cleaned. The drinks are good just like any Starbucks. this place has so much potential to become a great spot for coffee given how amazing the view is. I would love to see this place getting a make over and improved cleanliness

By far one of if not the best Starbucks served drinks I have ever had. We ordered a venti non fat caramel macchiato hot, a pink drink and a French vanilla iced latte. All three drinks were perfect! They did not lack any flavors and were sweet not to dark flavored as I usually experience at other Starbucks. The location has a perfect view of the city and even the promotional signs were very creative and well done promoting the latest avengers movie and Star Wars (because it was May the 4th). Highly recommend this location.

Mills Coffee Roasting Co is a well-established family-owned coffee roaster that has been in operation since 1860. The company is currently owned by Susan and her brother David, known as TheQweenBean. Customers have expressed their surprise at the high quality of the coffee, with one likening it to the perfect cup of diner breakfast coffee. Many long-time coffee drinkers have switched to Mills Coffee after discovering its delicious flavor and now receive regular deliveries of their favorite blends.
They have excellent coffee right now. I buy your decaffeinated French vanilla coffee ground from Dave’s Marketplace Coventry, RI now.

I stopped by Mill Coffee last week after reading great reviews on this place. When I pressed the intercom button at the entrance, I realized it's by appointment only visit. Luckily, Susan the owner let me in. Susan's hospitality exceeded expectations. She also showed me around, provided great information, and sent me home with two bags of coffee to try for free. That was incredibly nice of her! This place gets coffee from all over the world and you honestly can't get a more 'from-producer-to-consumer' product than this place, they roast in house! I highly recommend Mills Coffee Roasting. A huge shout-out to Susan for her kindness :) Daniel

I have been getting coffee beans from Mills for a while and their product is outstanding; a real RI gem. Susan has been the point person and she couldn't be any more kind and accommodating. I took a tour of their facility which was super informative. It showcased what they did there in their very clean (and very cool) building. Mills produces excellent product, while being local, and doing it in a thoughtful way for the farmers they work with.

I'm almost 60 years old and have been drinking coffee since I was 12. Coming from the south, coffee is essential to my day! I first experienced this coffee in a restaurant a few years ago. As soon as I tasted it, I asked where they got it. When they said Mills was a RI facility, I was thrilled. I've been a subscriber for a couple of years now. For $20 a month, I have 3 to 4 bags of perfectly roasted coffee delivered to my door. This coffee is SO good, I don't drink chain coffee at all anymore. In this crazy, messed up world, my easiest, most affordable indulgence is this coffee. It is the best coffee I've ever had. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

This isn’t a restaurant. It is a coffee roaster only. The location is down right scary and the building is like grandpa’s basement. The coffee they roast is mostly for local restaurants and coffee houses. I have bought coffee from them for over 20 years and it is still the best of any coffee anywhere.
