Indy Island Aquatic Center, located at 8575 East Raymond St. in Indianapolis, IN, has recently undergone renovations and now features a leisure pool with a zero-depth entry that gradually deepens to 3 feet. The Water Playhouse offers various interactive water features including a small slide, geysers, and spray features. Additionally, there is a water slide suitable for children who are at least 48 inches tall.
Have been coming for years and my kids love it very affordable and very fun

A Fun but Busy Experience at Indy Island Aquatic Center I recently visited the Indy Island Aquatic Center with my family, and while we had a blast, there were a few drawbacks that prevented me from giving it a full 5-star review. First, the good stuff: the aquatic center itself is fantastic! The pools are clean and well-maintained, and the water slides and play areas are perfect for kids of all ages. We spent hours splashing around and having a great time. However, our visit was during peak season, and the center was absolutely packed. It was loud, crowded, and sometimes difficult to navigate. I can imagine it would be overwhelming for younger kids or those with sensory sensitivities. One thing that would greatly improve the experience is the addition of food options. Currently, there are no dining options available within the center, which means you have to leave and come back or bring your own food. It would be amazing if they could offer some snacks or meals, or even have a food truck parked outside. Highlights: - Clean and well-maintained pools - Fun water slides and play areas - Great for families with kids Suggestions for Improvement: - Offer food options within the center or through a food truck - Consider implementing crowd control measures during peak season - Provide more seating areas for parents to relax while kids play - Bathrooms could use some deep cleaning improvements Tips for Future Visitors: - Plan your visit during off-peak hours if possible - Bring your own food and snacks to avoid having to leave - Take advantage of the lockers and changing rooms to store your belongings Overall, Indy Island Aquatic Center is a great destination for families, but it could benefit from a few improvements to enhance the overall experience.

This place sucks. We have parent and me swim lessons and 2 out of 6 times they cancelled at the door with no phone call/text/email ahead of time so we drove 25 minutes there for nothing and wasted our morning. Then when they actually have it, you show up, they start 15-20 minutes late (or completely forget so you have to check and then they start) and they start the class by saying, “yeah… so I don’t normally do this class so I’m going to wing it…” our daughter does fine in the tub and in our pool and they’ve made this such a bad experience that she just screams when we get there. What a joke.
Conor O — Google review
Heated indoor pool. Waterslides and those showering, fountain features. Most of the water is deep, so not great for toddlers. The shallow area is pelted with water from the fountains so babies can't really sit and enjoy it :/. Older children would have a lot of fun though.

I paid for swim classes for my grandson 2 summers ago. Everything was going well for a couple of weeks, then they closed the facility for repairs. I've called several times and left messages, but they escalate it to someone, and never called or let him come back to finish his classes. Sad because he liked it there.. UPDATE.. I called and emailed again with no response, paid for another swim class
Lisa D — Google review
Front check-in worker literally had his head laying on the front counter fully ASLEEP! No where on website do I find listed that no outside food or presents are allowed in the common food court area. Also, No where listed on facility website do I see the requirement to rent a party room, nor is the rental rate listed. Otherwise, we did enjoy the facility.
Daniell T — Google review
The kids and I love this place, lifeguards are on point, the price is affordable, and omg the temperature of the water is Lovely. We will continue to visit this place throughout the year Signed a happy person from Pennsylvania
Erica T — Google review
So glad they are back open!! Great price! Awesome water slides! A big and a small one. They also have a lap pool and 2 little sprinkler things! During the remodel they took out the hot tub but that’s OK! They are currently allowing 100 people in and they fill pretty fast. Mask are required in common areas and the concession stand is no longer serving hot food. Love this place only complaint is they should have remodeled the locker rooms while they were closed they are very outdated and rusted and the knobs for most of the showers were broken off and only ran cold water.

The Monon Community Center offers a variety of activities for both kids and adults. Kids can enjoy unstructured play in the gym with kid-sized basketball hoops, giant bowling, tricycles, tunnels, and more. For those seeking adventure, there's the FlowRider for surfing or the AquaClimb for wall climbing. The lazy river is perfect for those looking for a more relaxed experience. The facility also includes fitness group classes, access to a gym, and other amenities.
I used my active&fit direct program and once I found out that this gym was available with the program, I mainly used this gym. Mostly because of the amenities included, pool, free weights, and after I could skate towards downtown Carmel. A really great place to go!
David — Google review
It's simply too crowded and busy to be able to do any meaningful workout. The weight training area with both free weights and machines is overrun with people. Either membership rates need to increase or the community center needs to expand the resistance training area to be larger with more machines. The crowding as it is right now is unsustainable to allow for a good experience as a member. I'd recommend people looking elsewhere if you're concerned about maintaining a proper routine without too much frustration.
Brandon — Google review
Our family had been members since opening day and initially loved it. Over the years, the customer service has severely deteriorated. A recent unnerving experience with management just tipped the scale. It makes me really sad to write this because we’ve had many wonderful memories here but the staff is unkind and unprofessional. Additionally, they persistently ignore safety issues raised about equipment. So after 18 years of membership we decided to leave. It’s not worth the disrespect and there are better gyms. Invest your money and time elsewhere.
Tirajeh S — Google review
The Monon Community Center is a great gym with numerous facilities such as two pools, a spacious weightlifting area, a track, basketball courts, the Monon trail, a seasonally open waterpark, and even a Kid-Zone to drop off children if needed. Really well kept and clean, the workers are all so welcoming and eager to help. Super friendly to all ages! I will say that it can get really busy, with several people waiting on one machine or waiting on lanes at the pool, but as long as you are willing to wait a bit, it is totally worth it!
Ellen J — Google review
Great facility across the board. Except for the gym…. It clearly was designed by someone who has never lifted weights a day in their life. The equipment, design, and layout is horrific for such a nice overarching facility.
Fred W — Google review
Carmel has a great community center. Lap pool for the adults, a big pool for kids with a beach like entry; even two water slides. Basketball, racquetball, jogging track, exercise equipment/weights. Nothing is left out. Outside they have a really good playground, and impressive splash park to cool off in the summer. Lots of classes and group activities. Really a great facility to take advantage of. It's extra nice since the renovations are complete.
Chad M — Google review
The beautiful Monon Trail is a great way to experience the gorgeous outdoors at the Community Center. The Center also has a bike rental system available for public use with a fee.
Jen H — Google review
Love this place my daughter goes to their ballerina program. It’s next to Monon trail that you can walk in minutes. Also their second floor have a walking path open to the public. Their swimming pool is very nice, lanes area pretty cold but where the slides and kids section pretty warm. Summer time their outdoor splash park is very jammed it has infinity surf area. Definitely our kids love to visit this place.

Nestled within the Washington Community School, the George Washington High School Pool is a fantastic indoor swimming facility that opens its doors to the public after school hours. This heated pool features an exciting floating obstacle course and a rock wall, making it an ideal spot for families looking for fun aquatic activities. Open Monday through Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons, this venue welcomes everyone, with free admission for GWCS students who present their student ID.
I wasn't at the pool. I was there for my Grand Daughter's track meet. I also graduated from this school many years ago.

The Hendricks Regional Health YMCA in Avon offers a variety of pools, including lap and recreational options, catering to both adults and children. The venue hosts numerous activities and wellness events aimed at promoting overall health. While the pool facilities are praised for their quality, some visitors have expressed frustration over limited access during peak hours. However, the YMCA is commended for its water workouts and private swim lessons, particularly for individuals with back and knee issues.
Since becoming a YMCA member, I have enjoyed participating in a variety of exercise classes with other active older adults. Many of my classmates have become very good friends.

Nice customer service but they always messed up with your account but they are happy to fix and resolve it. .. lot of people during summer..offering some summer programs for the kids

Love it, it's bright, clean and people at front desk are super nice. The only complaint is the hour of my favorite lap lane swim pool should not be restricted by the availability of life guard.

Love the Y! The HRH medical team is always friendly and greet you with a smile. The facility is clean and inviting. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The Sports Medicine Doctor's & Surgeons are some of the best! The Y Gym: My son's love the pool. They did several sessions of swimming lessons. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The facility was also clean and inviting. The price was fair.

Very friendly, makes you feel like they care. My therapist is knowledgeable and supportive. He explains everything so I understand what and why I need this exercise.

I enjoy going to this YMCA. I like the people that I meet in the classes that I attend. Very much enjoying the adult water aerobics class. I’m looking forward to when they have the hot tub open and ready to sit in.

The people working are great, but unfortunately the membership size is too great for the size of the facility. Don’t expect to be able to work out if you get there at 9:30 in the morning or other peak busy times.

The facility also offers eight lanes for lap swimming and training. The Baxter ymca is phenomenal. The staff is very insightful, kind, professional and helpful. The wellness center and basketball courts are great for adults. The swimming pool is great in the summer and outside basketball court and soccer field is great. It’s great for kids cause they have a lot of programs, daycare, kids night out, and fun activities like summer camp and an interactive game room for kids. Great family atmosphere and gym for the family.

I love the Baxter YMCA is super clean and all of the stuff are super nice. A great place to go work out or hang out with your kids. They have an amazing indoor playground area for those rainy days. And they have some booths if you want to bring some food or snacks.. they have all kinds of amazing Sports my son is involved in t-ball now. Great job YMCA you were amazing for me when I grew up and you're still amazing

Clean and has a few pieces of equipment that the Lafayette Rd location does not. They also have more mirrors available by cble machines, unlike Lafayette rd. Address. They don't have an indoor track so you'd have to use treadmill.
Queen S — Google review
Miss Sandy is terrific! She keeps our 3-year-old engaged for the entire 30 minute lesson and allows her to learn at her own pace. She focuses on building confidence as well as skill, and she emphasizes water safety in lid-friendly ways. She is also very communicative and easy to schedule with!
Sunny R — Google review
I love the Baxter YMCA♥️♥️. I go 3 times a week! I use the egyms machines, the treadmill and to finish off, I take an Arthritis Water Aerobics class. I have made a lot of new friends at the Y. The staff is VERY helpful! I never expected to be this active at 70 years old, but here I am killing it!!
Debby C — Google review
It is kept very tidy!! 👍🏼👍🏼 Great place to workout & make new friends!! Workout area is huge with up to date equipment and machines. Pool is always clean as is the locker room area. Many class options to meet you where you are in your quest for health!!!

This is soley for the childcare here. Tell me how the infant/crawler is so disgusting! They also mix infants with toddlers. They are understaffed and filthy. We used to attend a few years back and do not remeber it being this bad. This is not at the end of the day either, this is at the very start. If this is how they keep the infants I would hate to see how filthy the pools/hot tubs and saunas are. Management must be non existent and just collecting a paycheck now.

Arthur Jordan Branch YMCA, a community-focused nonprofit established in 1844, offers recreational programs and services for all ages. The facility features indoor and outdoor pools with a splash pad, as well as a gym with weights and sauna. The friendly staff creates a warm, family-like atmosphere where members can enjoy various classes and events.
This gym has truly been an amazing place for me. I’ve been working out here for the past 3.5 years, ever since I was 13, and now at 16, I still enjoy coming in five times a week. Even though I come from a different background and wear modest clothing, but I’ve always felt welcomed and comfortable. One of the things I really appreciate is how respectful and kind everyone is people focus on their own workouts, and there’s a great sense of personal space. The front desk staff especially stand out to me. They always greet me with a warm smile, and it honestly makes my day every time. What I love most is that this gym isn’t just about lifting weights or using machines. It offers a supportive and positive environment for everyone whether you’re a child, an adult, or even someone working on the go like me. As a young entrepreneur with a busy and often stressful schedule, this gym has also become a place for me to relax, recover, and even get some work or meetings done. It’s more than just a fitness space it’s a place that helps me mentally, physically, and professionally.
Husna S — Google review
Visiting for the day. Great location and updated y facility. Came only for the pool and had plenty of space to practice.
B F — Google review
Great facility and friendly staff. We had a small issue trying to play Pickleball on Friday at noon. The YMCA website says that the gym at the Jordan Y is open for pickleball from 11:00 to 1:00. But when we entered the gym and asked where to put our paddles to line up, we were questioned about "how good we were". We were shown a sign on the door that says Friday is for"Advanced" pickleball. We acknowledged that this was the first time we'd played the game with others, and we're not advanced. Fortunately, a few of the guys said they'd be happy to let us rotate in for a game. They all ended up being very friendly and helpful to teach us, but we almost didn't stay after the initial response. I have no problem with there being a designated time for certain skill levels, but that needs to be on the website. While most of those players are retirees, I took time off from work in the middle of the day to come play. I wish I had known not to come on Friday.
Geoff M — Google review
Nice outdoor long course pool that isn’t very busy for lap swim. Was pretty easy to schedule my nephews for swim lessons there and appreciated Brandy’s help and welcoming! Lifeguards and swim instructors are kind, welcoming and polite!
Brynn H — Google review
The gym is decent and a good variety of equipment but the atmosphere is horrible. It’s a bunch of elderly people that are quite rude and don’t know how gyms work. If you’ve been on a machine for a minute they think you’re obligated to let them on to use it. The concept of sets eludes them. Working in is totally fine and acceptable but I’ve found it difficult to explain that so I just gave up. If you’re just using the gym like I was it’s certainly not worth it. Hard pass.
Austin T — Google review
Front desk staff is very nice and the gym is pretty comprehensive but the entire place has stick up it’s ass energy. Lots of rules and the trainers are rude; they will police you in the weight room rather than watch the form of their elderly clients. You probably cannot deadlift here. You can sense the vibe of a gym and this one is uptight. Pass.
CaseyDaisy — Google review
The Y is very clean and inviting. The workout equipment is great. I recently took swim lessons and they were outstanding, a great team.

We love the Jordan YMCA. The staff are so supportive of our kids and they see friends and even teachers from there school on average at the Y. It is a community for us, that helps us balancing kids and your own health goals.

The Benjamin Harrison YMCA is a community-focused nonprofit that has been providing recreational programs and services for all ages since 1844. It's known as the practice location for swimmers preparing for the 1987 Pan American Games, making it an inspiring place for kids to feel like champions. The facility offers a wide range of programs, classes, community events, and childcare services, making it convenient for parents to prioritize their fitness while their children are taken care of.
Benjamin Harrison YMCA early learning center is a great place for my daughter. She’s excited to go to school every morning and can’t stop talking about teachers/friends.
Danyell S — Google review
It is sad to say my time at this Y has came to an end. Both of my children have attended here since 2022 and absolutely adored it. But since I cant afford and keep up with the cost after losing my father and going through a horrible divorce my son is now being unenrolled for the next school year. I had to make the choice of feeding my kids or paying the school. It breaks my heart that this is happening to him as he was approving so well. My son is autistic and its so hard to find others that he feels comfortable with. He finally was starting to grow. He was talking more. He was learning so well. Now he has to start over in a new school with new people. This is going to be such a heartbreaking challenge for him. After all the challenges and issues I had with this program I'm surprised I kept my kids here. But the teachers and assistant teachers made it worth it. My son was so attached to Barbara now he will never see her again. Thanks for kicking a single mom down when she is already going through so much. Really showed me what kind of family place this YMCA is running.
Tess S — Google review
The Y facility is nice but I primarily come for the pool. This location is really only ideal if you have children. There are zero places in this pool for adults to relax without getting splashed or getting caught in the middle of a game of marco polo. Most other locations have deeper sections that are for adults only or if you pass a swim test. Those pools also allow rafts where this one does not.
Megan — Google review
My family loves coming to the YMCA. The facility has been working on updates over the years, and I appreciate the new machines in the gym. The indoor pool is nice and the water is a comfortable temperature. I also appreciate the new partnership with the JCC to accommodate those who would like to work out on specific holidays when the YMCA is closed. I would love to see some more upgrades in the future, though. Perhaps updated locker rooms, a hot tub, and a sauna. It would be nice if they had a machine to dry off excess water and towels in the locker room again. If they were to expand on the outdoor pool eventually, a lazy river and concession stand would be really cool.

Do NOT sign your kid up for swim lessons here. It is a complete waste of time and run by instructors that clearly do not care about teaching kids anything. The rest of the facilities are probably fine but I do not recommend taking classes here. Leadership clearly does not care about the quality of their programs.
Fred G — Google review
The pool hours are ridiculous and when it is open the life guards do nothing to keep the kids from running, flipping, throwing each other into the pool. I watched a boy "washing machine" his cousin, after doing 2 dozens front and back flips into the pool. The moms next to me were gasping in unison every time we saw skulls centimeters from the edge when these kids were flipping. Do better.

Eagle Creek Park Beach is a popular spot for fishing, with low boat launch fees at the nearby Eagle Creek Reservoir. The park offers beach shelters for rent, providing a great experience for gatherings and celebrations. Visitors can enjoy picnics, ample parking space, and clean beaches while spending quality time with friends and family. The park's customer service is highly praised, ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Went to the concert on the beach. Music was very relaxing especially with the water beside us. Got to sit where we wanted. Would have liked some more vendors with food but you can bring your own food.

Ok real talk... this place was pretty sad. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was dead, except for families grilling out. It was a nice day. The rest of the park was nice to walk through. The main shelter at the beach looks like a poorly-maintained artifact of the Escobar era. The guy there said they serve 2 things: chips and Airheads. .. Likely also leftover from the 80s. Is it a tiny roped-off area of water with maybe 2 feet of sand preceding the grody, mushy shoreline, where 3 lifeguards are fighting the urge to fall asleep? Absolutely. Is it a BEACH? Highly questionable. Plus, $7 for vehicles to enter is diabolical. Goose poop everywhere, rusty trashcans, patchy/muddy grass... Wes Montgomery didn't die for this. 😭 Indy Parks, do better.

This is an amazing beach. Free. Clean. It’s small, but we always come late afternoons and it’s just few people here. Mostly grassy, but a little of sand too. There are restrooms right there, shower, locker, wheelchair access. The most important thing for me is 3 safeguards on duty at all times! They are great, keep watching everyone!
Tetiana M — Google review
I wouldn't call this a beach, at the beach we can have snorkels & floats lol. Theres not much sand either. I asked the lifeguard if my kids could have their float, she said yes as long as they dont use it to swim, then 5 min later another one comes and tells me no floats. My son was swimming with a snorkel, they told me he cant have it cause it scares them. I mean sure, I get it, but I was there with them. They probably should post these rules on their site, cause when I googled if we could have floats, it said yes. But the man walking around in his underwear was fine. 🫣

Thatcher Park, located at 4649 W Vermont St, Indianapolis, is a popular spot in the Speedway area. The indoor pool is a great place to warm up on cold days and offers free entry for children under 2, with nominal fees for kids (2-17) and adults. While some visitors have reported occasional cleanliness issues due to events or gatherings leaving behind trash and toys, overall the park is well-maintained. The pool itself is clean and lifeguards are attentive.
Very nice facility.

For starters the building an Amenities are AMAZING. The prior staff that is still here is AMAZING , but the manager WILL is very racist , he makes people very uncomfortable on purpose even . Does not do anything , but focus on making those who are not rich or white uncomfortable , an I mean this respectfully . Had a meeting even with some of his employees an they say he's always this way. Heard several people complain. For years before he worked this building I have come here , fed the homeless here , and now it's dreadful even entering the building with him in it . Please hire a new manager or allow Angela to take over as she was always the one in charge for years that I've come here.

We swim here at least once a week, and love the laid back vibe and great staff. We go to the 11am-12:30pm open swim. The clientele is mostly older folks enjoying the heated pool. It’s not very busy at all, so always room to do laps. You can’t beat 3 bucks a person, and I love the big doors that let in natural light. My fave place to go on a cold day!
Amy C — Google review
We came for the pool and had a good experience. The pool is very clean and the life guards left us alone. If you want to swim laps, it can sometimes be hard with all of the oblivious old people doing water walking across all the lanes, but that's no fault of the facility.

Great pool facility. I went for the pool during the morning recreation time. The heated pool was very welcoming. Not crowded at all. More seasoned adults there getting their aerobics in and a few small kiddos learning how to swim with their parents. Very chill vibe. Life guards posted and walking the pool. Locker room smelled nice , clean as can be. Eventually the floor needs replacing but that can't stop the good time my son and I had.

I came here with my summer camp group. The staff is friendly but the lifeguards/other adults do not care. There were kids pushing other kids into the pool, kids restraining each other and dunking them in the water, and kids holding each other underwater. At other pools we’ve been to kids are told to stop, but the staff/adults are encouraging this behavior. One of my summer camp kids ended up bleeding from her mouth when one of the other kids was pushed into the water and fell on top of her. Wouldn’t come here if there are a lot of people since the staff/adults don’t redirect their own kids.

Well, hmm, lets see. Im a little bougie lol but here is my 1st impression. Inside facility is clean. The pool area is nice, not too big, not toooo small but are a tad dirty with a bunch of sand in water. The areas surrounding the water are in fairly good condition but could use some tlc ,paying attention to drains etc. No concession stand? If they have one it wasnt up and running that i could tell. The picnic area just before deacending the stairs could use some tlc and it looks alittle neglected, think.. post apocalyptic vibe lol. The drink/snack dispenser was broken today as well. Thankfully there was a patron who sold me 2 bottles of water for a buck, so Thank You! I came unprepared as I had read at some point that we couldn't bring outside food and drinks in so I expected to purchase everything. So, be sure to bring snacks and drinks in an undesignated cooler as I asked and we can bring items in just not in the pool area. Other than the above, its affordable, the people are friendly, staff friendly, lifeguards good, and the set up is nice. From just about any place you sit in the pool area you can see everything. Only thing obstructing the view would be the ppl walking around and you might get a little distracted by some of the fashion or lack of lol.Kids and families all seem to be enjoying themselves. No other issues so yeah, we'd come back for the heck of it. It just really needs TLC!! Come on Garfield, get it together!!!

Goldfish Swim School - Carmel is a delightful destination for young swimmers, featuring a traditional pool that maintains a cozy temperature of 90 degrees. Parents can enjoy watching their little ones from the glass viewing area, ensuring they never miss a moment of the fun. The school is designed with bright and cheerful colors to create an inspiring atmosphere for children as they learn to swim and build confidence in the water. It's truly an engaging environment where kids can thrive while mastering essential swimming skills!
We were hesitant to sign up due to the higher cost and classes only being 30 minutes but after not seeing a lot of progress at other places, we tried Goldfish. Both of my kids can have class at the same time despite vastly different swim levels and their swim skills have greatly improved in just a few months. All of the staff have been incredibly helpful and nice. Goldfish is a very well oiled machine. The class limit of 4 kids per coach is very helpful.

This is a wonderful swim school! The staff and swim teachers are amazing. They are always so friendly and happy to help with any concerns or questions. My kids are thriving with swimming because of these classes. My son started at Goldfish in Nov 2024 very nervous with the water and now he is like a little fish and fearless. My daughter has moved up to Pro 2 and her form is amazing. I highly recommend this swim school!

When we first joined Goldfish Swim School, we were only somewhat satisfied with the experience. However, once we connected with the manager, Amaya, everything changed for the better. She is super approachable, genuinely listens to concerns, and has gone above and beyond to make sure our son is supported. Thanks to her guidance, he is now excelling in his swimming sessions and we are fully satisfied with the progress. Big thanks to Amaya and the team!

I am thrilled with how my 3 year old and four year old progressed. The instructors are SO patient. 3 YO's first lesson she cried for 10 minutes while a helper held her and consoled her and GOT HER IN THE WATER SWIMMING HAPPY!! Oh yeah! I was so impressed. Both love lessons and ask all week when lessons are. They sell little candies for 25 cents and they love these for progress rewards after. There are bathrooms, changing rooms, and a blown dryer station. Great overall experience!

Our kiddo loves the classes, teachers and other swimmers he’s met along the way. Partner that with the ability to make up missed classes for vacations, illness, etc. and you’ve got the perfect recipe for an enjoyable experience all around!

Goldfish Swim School in Carmel is truly amazing! The instructors are so patient, kind, and knowledgeable, making every swim lesson fun and engaging for the kids. The warm, welcoming atmosphere helps our child feel safe and confident in the water. We love the consistent progress we see after each class, and the small group sizes ensure every child gets personalized attention. The facility is always clean, and the staff is fantastic. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Goldfish!

Swimming
Krannert Aquatic Center, located on High School Rd. in Indianapolis, is a popular destination for families and fitness enthusiasts. The center recently underwent extensive renovations and now features an indoor pool along with other amenities. Visitors can enjoy public swimming sessions on weekdays and Saturdays, making it a great spot for some aquatic fun. Additionally, the outdoor area offers opportunities for walking around the pond, fishing, and enjoying the playground and picnic areas.
Love this pool, I come a couple times a week after work to do laps. I guess they're having some trouble with the chemicals keeping the pH right since this used to be an outdoor facility so if you're coming from afar you might check their facebook page or call first to see if the pool is open. If it isn't, the Thatcher pool is only about a mile away!
Michael ( — Google review
I hadn’t seen any new reviews of the facility since they completed their renovations, so hopefully this review is helpful to others. We visited today (a Tuesday in the summer) from around 12:30-3:30PM. We went solely for the new indoor/outdoor water area. As someone who enjoyed the old outdoor Krannert water park as a kid, the new area is definitely underwhelming. The indoor area consists of 2 large pools, one aerobics style and one sloped. The sloping pool has a double baby slide suitable for kids around 2-7. The aerobics style pool has 1 twisty slide with water going constantly and it did seem to spin kids and adults down very fast. The outdoor portion is a small splash pad, but also contains a double baby slide. However, this portion was closed today. When I asked the front desk when the outdoor splash pad would be opened, they said they didn’t have an estimate as it wasn’t working and they were unsure how much time fixing it would take. The new locker rooms are standard. The floors and toilets were dirty. The rest of the new facility looked nice. There is an outdoor area available for renting which contains AstroTurf and picnic tables. There was also a small outdoor area to lay out and tan. You may bring outside food & drink which was nice. There is nothing available for purchase besides the 2 vending machines near the entrance. There is a water fountain near the vending machines as well. The indoor area contains maybe 10 benches that are first come, first serve. Something to note in the summer months - this location hosts summer camp. Around 1:00PM a big group of young (looked 4-6) campers came in and crowded the baby slide and sloped pool. About an hour later an older group came in and took over the aerobics style pool. There are adults with them, but they didn’t ever manage them/tell them to stop doing something. The lifeguards kept the campers in line luckily. All of the lifeguards were very friendly and nice and helpful. However, they do have a lot of rules at this facility. They provide noodles to swim with, but only a certain color can be used as the other colors are used in their aerobic classes. You cannot hold your children in the pool or have them ride on your back, which was a little bit of a bummer for my youngest. Overall, I think this is a great addition to the community.
Mal T — Google review
Update: Renovations were completed. The large enclosed pool is really nice. There is a water slide on the deeper side. On the shallow side are 2 straight slides into the pool for kids. My only complaint is the air conditioning is on in the dressing rooms. I was cold in there even before I got wet. When you go in there wet & you'll be freezing. // Krannert pools & building will be closed after May 1, 2022. They will be renovating. A new pool building will be built where the outdoor pool was. The old indoor pool will become a larger weight room. The inside will be closed until at least 12/31/23. The outdoors (lake, playground, picnic areas) will still be open. I don't think there will be a restroom available.
Shay A — Google review
My wife likes the weight room and pool I enjoy the pond more but something here for everyone like an urban YMCA right here in Indy
Dan P — Google review
The new pool setup isn't ideal for summer fun!! They consider the pool inside/outside because it has 2 garage doors. It does have an outside lounge area to lay out, but it's not viewable to the indoor pool. They kept the pre-existing pools but just closed it in! They have seat benches inside for the parents. The little slide (vortex) wasn't open today. It was visibly green on the walls and bottom of the pool. Also, the amount of chlorine is so powerful that we left do to my kids' eyes swelling. You also have to go into the main building to access the locker rooms , which leads you to the pool from inside(you can No Longer Access the pool from outside)
Carisa L — Google review
I go here often but I've never used most of the facilities like the pool or gym, I hear it's nice but I just haven't gotten around to checking it out.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this hotel a couple of weeks ago. We arrived late on a Friday night and were greeted by a super friendly staff person. She had us in our room with our breakfast tickets and water park passes in less than 5 minutes. Our room was atrium side on the 4th floor and was very clean and nice. There were two comfy beds and a large balcony for the kids to hang out on. I was worried about the pool noise but at 11:00pm (hotel quiet time) both nights the lobby area was silent and we didn't hear anything with our door closed. The bathroom was clean and the only thing that I could find wrong with the room is the toilet paper holders were broken. However, little things like that don't ruin a great experience. There was a great selection at their breakfast buffet for both the kids and adults. Our waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. Our kids had a fantastic time at the waterpark and arcade on a Saturday. The only frustration we had at the waterpark was not enough tubes to really enjoy all the rides and the lazy river otherwise it was wonderful. We will definitely be returning.

Water Park is only open on weekends until April but this is my fault for not checking before I booked room. Nice pool and Spa. Now for the bad. Room was off the pool but the sliding glass door lock was broken. They had installed a makeshift lock that was attached to the wall and all the screws were very loose. Bathroom was not that great, one small bar of soap for the sink, none for the bath and no shampoo at all. Toilet paper holder was missing. Look as if they are cutting corners to make a profit. Vending machine and arcade games did not work. I took my grand children for a mini spring break. Will not stay there again.
Howard R — Google review
On the plus side, the water park was fun except the kiddie area water is ice cold! On the negative, the staff is not friendly or helpful. Lifeguards were the same, they all seem like it was bothering them to be there. It could use some cleaning and repair work. I might go back again, but I will never stay in the hotel. It was overpriced and not very clean. The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. The tub in bathroom was dirty, something splashed on the overhead light, I don't even know what, and to boot I had to take luke warm shower.
Roanna W — Google review
We stayed here last weekend and it was the worst experience. The hotel is very rundown and not managed well at all. There no towels at the water park, we had to use the towels in our room to dry off, then we called for dry towels I was told we would put on a list - we never received them. The icing on the cake was the blood that was all over the floor at the entrance to the park and people were walking through it tracking it into the park - they didn't block off the area just tried to clean around it. Disgusting! We went to the park because we got a deal on "My Perks", I would have been very mad if I had paid full price. This place is a joke. The room had mold, a crack in the ceiling, holes in the wall. When we commented on our stay to the front desk all they could say is "sorry to hear that". No customer service at all. Lesson learned, we will not ever be back and we will be telling all of our friends about our awful stay.
J F — Google review
My husband, myself and two of our children (ages 12 & 14) stayed at Caribbean Cove for 2 nights. The hotel and waterpark themselves seemed to be well kept. The lifeguards at the waterpark appeared to be very alert of swimmers, especially the little ones. The only real problem we had was our room. We paid nearly $400 for two nights in a room with two beds. Upon arriving at our room, we opened the door to find two fans set up and blowing on the carpet. We understand that things happen (people get sick on the carpet, water leaks, etc.) but the stench was horrible and the carpet was wet. So back down to the front desk we went. We asked if we could get a different room. The staff was very friendly and did get us another room. However, the room we got had one queen bed (there was 4 of us!). We asked for some other sleeping accommodations for our children and finally around 10pm we were able to get a roll away bed (no pillows though). My husband went back down to the front desk to ask for 2 pillows and a couple extra towels (I don't know why hotels never give you enough in the first place). We waited up until after midnight and never got any pillows or towels. The next day my husband again went down to the front desk and asked for towels and pillows again. He was told they would send some up. They again never came. Throughout the day, I, myself asked two different house keeping personnel for these items and was told they'd be brought up. Nothing. Our children at one point went down to the front desk and asked and again, nothing. Finally at 8:45pm on our last night there we were brought towels. We never saw any pillows. It was a little frustrating to say the least. We don't usually complain about things when we go to a hotel for the simple fact that we expect what we pay for (we usually stay in cheap hotels) but $400 is a lot to us and 5 times of asking for towels and pillows just seemed like it was 3-4 times too many. Will we go back? Eh....not likely unfortunately.

My husband and I went this past weekend. We were excited considering it was our annual get away. We were looking forward to the room we booked - king sized bed with a couch, and a whirlpool tub, the pool (a chance for us adults to just act like kids), and the service had a reputation of being great. WE WERE SO WRONG! The computers crashed that morning, and rather than implementing a way for check in to go smoothly the staff crossed its fingers and hoped for the best. We walked in the doors at 4:07pm (check in began at 4) and waited over an hour and a half in line. When we asked what type of accommodations they were planning to give guests the employee said she could waive the $25 hold for incidentals they placed on my husbands credit card. Why? The money would be returned to us within days considering we had no plans on trashing the room. We decided to just speak to the manager later that day when things calmed down. We then proceeded up to our room, opened the door...and SURPRISE! It was someone elses room! We promptly walked downstairs, talked to the manager on duty, Collin, who assured us he would take care of the issue in just a moment. While waiting the couple's whose room we had been given came down because they could not access their room, their key was promptly reprogrammed. During my 45 minute wait for another employee to acknowledge and fix the room issue two more people came to the lobby with the same issue - a double booked room. One woman started screaming about the issue and they fixed it immediately. So, since a scene fixes the issue I threatened one. I was given a new room and a new key within 2 minutes. We proceeded to our room... At this time it was almost 7pm. The room we received was a standard queen with none of the extras. Fantastic right? At least we could still make our dinner reservations and go swimming. Wait... our reservations were for 6 so we missed them... and the pool water was less then 50 degrees and was at capacity. So what is it we paid for again? A double booked room, a room less than what we paid for, and a swimming pool we could not use.... Icing on the cake? Our bed felt like laying outside in grass - hard and lumpy. We left after laying in bed for three hours complaining and just drove home. The manager dodged my husband and I all evening, even after promising to return our calls, and meet us in the lobby. If you want to waste your money on the worst service in the world, be their guest. But of the over 100 families I encountered yesterday... no one will be returning, us included.

we were looking forward to this trip. We arrived at 4 pm for the check in time becouse they did not allow early check in. We waited in line for 11/2 hrs to get our room. We arrived at a dirty room with a broken toilet that did not flush, a coffee pot that did not work, the room phone was missing buttons, there were still dirty finger prints on the mirrors and slider door, there were gummy bears candy stuck to the walls. The ice maker on our floor was not working. I had originally book the room through there web site for 2 nights, I cancelled our second night. For the amount of money I paid for this trip I expected a little more appeal. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone ever.

We reserved four rooms, for our family get together in June 2014. The experience was not good. One of the rooms had something sticking out from under the bed. Called For maintenance to come fix it, two different times. They never showed up. We had two beds in our room, when they came to clean the room, only one bed was made. Left the other a mess. Did not fill toilet paper, kleenex or the coffee. I was told when making the reservations, that the pool in the atrim, was heated. It was ice cold. Everyone that got in, not only our group, but everyone would not stay in. The hot tub was not working. In the water park, the stairs going up to the food and drink area, was in bad shape. Someone could hurt their feet, if going up without shoes. There were not many choices of food or drink and high priced. The Free Breakfast, the buffet, had very few choices. The water park was enjoyable for the kids and the other family members. The front desk and room service staff were very nice.

Outdoors, visitors can enjoy four pools, with the main outdoor pool being the largest in the U.S. The club offers something for everyone, from slides and diving pools to lap lanes and even a summer camp.
Staff very polite, so excited for my daughter's first swimming lesson 😀 facility clean and uncrowded.

Something for everyone - slides, diving pool, lap lanes, food, sumner camp - and a great meeting place for kids and adults alike. Ultra strict membership w/ an inflexible staff (i.e. non-member alternate parent accompanying a member minor to the pool while member parent is out of town and having to pay to get in). Otherwise, It's the new and improved Rivi.
Nancy S — Google review
The BEST health club I've been a member of. The pool is massive and you never have to fight for a lane, the food is incredible, and I love playing tennis on the close by courts. Join if you can!!

Love my Rivi community! My parents, brother's family, and sister's family all attend the Rivi. We've always felt welcome while enjoying the pool and the exercise facilities. It's a great place and it'll continue to get better.

My experience was great. Let me tell you about it. I thought that the staff were real good and polite. The breakfast was amazing and overall had good quality and taste. When I was there I found out that there is a karate class and tap dancing. That was a really key thing for me because I went home and told my friends and family about it. They ended up coming with me to breakfast once and thought it was great. I really recommend this place for their breakfast although I have not tried their lunch and dinner I would assume that it is just as good.

Went with a member for lunch. Food and service were good. Pricey, but expected. Acoustics allow you to hear more than you want.

Nestled within Zionsville High School, the Zionsville Aquatics Center is a hidden gem that boasts three distinct pools: an 8-lane lap pool for serious swimmers, a shallow instructional pool perfect for young learners, and a diving board pool that adds an element of fun. Open every day of the week, this center offers ample opportunities for open swim sessions. While it may feel unusual to visit during school hours, the welcoming staff and pristine facilities quickly make you feel at home.
They are one of if not the only place around that offers swim lessons for special needs children, and they do a fantastic job. They let the kids have fun while also acclimating them to the pool and teaching swim techniques. Highly recommended!
Drew — Google review
Nicole Torode is repulsive with her nasty high and mighty RUDE attitude. Upper directors really need to evaluate her behavior with kids AND parents. Viewing area is ridiculous hot. Out of all schools, this is the most unpleasant and unwelcoming school to have aquatic events with.
L K — Google review
Group lessons have really small groups. Best option though for private lessons. Least expensive private lessons around.
N T — Google review
I feel like I should keep this little secret to myself... The Zionsville Aquatic Center is located in the Zionsville High School and although it seemed a little odd going there at first during school hours, the staff is very friendly and the pools are wonderful. You have to go during family swim hours unless you join a special class or group such as Masters swimming, but it's usually not too crowded. It's not very expensive and if you want to go often you can buy a pass to save even more.
Seth H — Google review
Beautiful place but not big enough for a Sectionals crowd.
Joel — Google review
We love this pool. It is always so clean with kind employees.
Brandi B — Google review
Nice pools. There are three: lap pool, dive pool, and an aquatic fitness pool. Aquatic fitness pool is shallow, a place where younger kids can learn to swim.
Zoe S — Google review
Swimming classes for kids all the way to seniors. Segragated swimming by skill and need. Enclosed and temperature controlled. Private, semi-private, and group classes.

The Krannert Family Center has long been a favorite destination for fitness enthusiasts, and its recent remodeling has taken the experience to new heights. With an expanded weight room featuring top-of-the-line equipment, it’s a haven for those looking to enhance their workout routines. The center offers incredible value, making it an unbeatable choice for anyone seeking quality fitness facilities.
I've been coming here for years and enjoying it so much. Now after their remodeling it's even better. I use the weight room and now they have a much bigger weight room and the best equipment. Krannert family center is the best deal around for the benefits you get. Hands down.
