Shizuoka prefecture is famous for Eel, this area had quite a few Eel restaurants to choose from in a relatively quiet part of town. While all the prices are relatively similar, they definitely do not all tastes the same. I definitely enjoyed the Eel served at this restaurant with great service and beautiful new ambience. Highly recommended if you had to only check out one Eel restaurant in the area, this one will be the one I will be returning to if I get a chance to visit the area again. Restaurant is non-smoking, offers both normal and tatami settings for dining in.

I am a big fan of Unagi. This restaurant was recommended to me by locals and I was not disappointed. they accommodated me easily despite being busy and me not having a reservation. the unagi on rice was delicious. You could taste it was freshly prepared the charcoal and the sauce. one has the opt for bigger or smaller portions. the price will change accordingly. For me this was one of the best I had. definitely thumbs up!

The best unagi I have had, bar none. Crisp skin, fat and juicy eels grilled over binchotan charcoal. I especially love the shiroyaki style which allows one to savour the original taste of the eel. Lovely large windows with a view to their house gardens. Will come back again and again.

I went to this restaurant because it has the most and the best review in this area. It's a bit pricey but it's totally worth the price tag.

This very next to Hamamatsu station and can walk within a minute. I had Unagi/ele lunch set which came with unagi on rice, soup with hot tea pot to pour on unagi rice and veg pickle. I think very overpriced for 4,980¥. Which we do not know the origin of Unagi. As well even if it is from Japan way expensive vs wagyu lunch or steak. Over priced and not recommended unless you have money to give away.

The restaurant is just north across the station. It is quite crowded during lunch time. They offer unagi chazuke, unagi set, and unagi donburi. I tried the unagi set and unagi chazuke. It costed around ¥4000 each. The unagi was grilled perfectly, and the tare sauce did not overwhelm the flavor of the unagi. Highly recommended to try one of the best unagi in Hamamatsu.

Very fresh and soft unagi! This restaurant is near to Hamamatsu JR. Couldn't find it at first and walked out of JR, walked towards Bic camera and found this nearby. Each set sets us back about 2500 yen to 2800 yen. There isn't alot of sauce drizzled on the unagi and that allowed us to fully appreciate the taste of the unagi. The soup accompanying is not the usual miso soup. It was clear, had a piece of clam and a slight smoky aroma which makes it rather interesting in my opinion.
