La Guerrerense Carreta is a renowned taco and ceviche bar located in Ensenada, Mexico. The restaurant is known for its delicious seafood dishes and is owned by Sabina Bandera and Eduardo Oviedo. Additionally, they have recently opened Restaurante Sabina nearby, offering the same delightful seafood options. Another recommended spot for seafood enthusiasts is Muelle 3, a small eatery near the Malecon started by celebrity chefs Benito Molina and Solange Muris.
We had been once before and really enjoyed the seafood tostadas here. We were lucky to see the owner there and she was really wonderful and gave her recommendations and even took a picture with us. The seafood was super fresh and very delicious.
Joan L — Google review
The food was pretty good the options great too of the different types of seafood. The service was good too, the guy preparing was cool, cashier a little short with the friendliness. However the taste wasn’t worth the cost and quantity in my opinion. Glad I ate where one of my heroes ate at but that is where it ends. Once is enough.
Jay V — Google review
Street vendor with a bunch of unique tostada such as ones with uni into the mix. Saw a video on this place by Anthony Bourdain, and it was close by the cruise port so it was a goal to try it out. The ceviche was my favorite! The shrimp was so plump and tasted so fresh. For a street vendor in Mexico, it seems kind of pricey, but I didn't have pesos so I was charged $40-$50 for 3 tostada, shrimp ceviche and two watermelon juices. Is that considered pricey. I'm not sure..... The portion sizes were decent.
Deanna L — Google review
There was a long waitlist (about 40min and we didn’t have the time for that as this was a few hour stop for our cruise). We were able to order to go and just ate outside. However when you do to go - they put everything on the side instead of inside the taco shell which was a little annoying since I was eating it right then. You can also get drinks to go. Strawberry marg 10/10 - they put taijin on the rim or something similar. Fish taco 8/10 Shrimp taco 10/10

6/22/25: Had the number 1 and 2 for 180mxn and a mixto tostada for 50mxn. The latter are a good value.

Famous little ceviche cart! The owner has won multiple awards and was given a shoutout by Anthony Bourdain himself.
Bobby A — Google review
We came here on a tour so I only was able to sample one tostada. It was a mixed seafood tostada, and was the best tostada I’ve ever had. Anthony Bourdain discovered this restaurant many years ago and was so enthusiastic about the owner that he sponsored her in a world taco competition which she won. After sampling one tostada now we know why. It is a must try experience in Ensenada.
Todd P — Google review
My friends and I visited this spot during our port day in Ensenada, and it was the highlight of our trip. We were craving mariscos and had heard rave reviews about this street cart. Let me tell you—it did not disappoint. In fact, it far exceeded our expectations, serving the best ceviche tostadas we’ve ever tasted. At just $9 per tostada, they were generously loaded with incredibly fresh seafood and bold, vibrant flavors. It was so fresh, we even watched the clams being shucked right in front of us! My husband and I tried the (#2) cebiche de erizo con almeja, (#4) campechana, and (#6) almeja con pata de mula, and every bite was perfection. The condiments were impressive too. They had an lineup of hot sauces ranging from mild to fiery, along with saltines that paired beautifully with the spice and acidity of the seafood. We would have happily ordered more, but we were pacing ourselves for a food tour around town. Even my friend, who typically doesn’t enjoy ceviche, rated it a 10/10.

Nestled in the heart of Ensenada, Mercado Negro is a vibrant fish market that serves as a culinary hub for seafood lovers. This bustling locale not only offers an array of fresh catches but also features charming family-friendly boardwalks where you can find colorful hammocks and handcrafted wooden trinkets. For those seeking the ultimate ceviche experience, just a short stroll away lies La Guerrerense, renowned for its delectable offerings and beloved by food enthusiasts.
Traveling to Ensenada with my husband was a wonderful trip. The food was amazing at the Mercado Negro. If we travel there again, this is where we will eat again. ~Mamatpp

Mercado Negro offers delicious, authentic local seafood, and the quality of the food is undeniable. However, the experience was dampened by the constant barrage of food vendors aggressively trying to get us into their establishments. While I understand the competition, it became overwhelming and, at times, unpleasant. If you’re looking for great seafood and don’t mind the persistent sales pitches, it’s worth a visit—but be prepared for the pressure.
Jon P — Google review
It was ok. Honestly, prices are too high for what you get. Tacos weren't bad but I won't return. Too many other places with more selection, variety, and drink options.
Art O — Google review
Clean, wide variety of seafood, friendly staff. Cute little shopping area nearby. Lots of little restaurants serving fresh seafood all around.
Terren G — Google review
It's always a good place to get fresh seafood. The best time to go there is during the week.
Henry D — Google review
Very interesting, fresh catch of the day..smelly ..fishy..but interesting to see the varieties of fish...
Mabel — Google review
Ensenada is a fishing city and this is the heart of the fishing industry in the city. Vendor after vendor with wonderful fresh fish and seafood. Everyone is very helpful and it is a must see when visiting the Ensenada area.
Todd P — Google review
This is a tourist attraction rather than a traditional seafood market used by locals. There aren't many fish inside, and the vendors inside don't seem very interested in selling. Instead, the nearby restaurant staff are more enthusiastic about drawing in customers, offering seafood processing services. We didn't eat here because it felt strange—there were hardly any people except tourists, so it didn't feel like an authentic local experience. Overall, this city gives off a vibe of being very tourist-oriented, with high prices on generic items and everyone trying hard to attract customers to their own shops. It just feels odd and lacks the authentic atmosphere you'd expect from a place frequented by locals.

Tacos Fenix is a popular spot in Ensenada, known for its delicious seafood tacos available for takeout. The menu features an incredible variety of fish and shrimp tacos that are freshly fried and served with a generous assortment of freshly made salsa. Locals and travelers alike frequent this establishment, which has been serving up these delectable tacos since 1970.
Really good fish and shrimp tacos. Light and crispy batter. They have a whole parking lot on the corner just west of their taco stand. No seating available. Tacos were delicious. I paid 200 pesos for 6 tacos. Which was extremely cheap.
Hugo V — Google review
Quality tacos worth the walk from the cruise port! Simple food done exceptionally well! We tried both the shrimp and the fish tacos, could not pick a winner! The toppings were fresh, the salsas were on point. I would literally come back just for these tacos! Employees were super friendly at this local joint!
Michael K — Google review
You absolutely have to make the walk! Its well worth it and you need the excercise after cruising and eating all day so do it! We live in oregon where the seafood is fresh on the coast so our hopes were very high. We were not disappointed they were easily the best fish tacos my wife and I have ever had hands down. It was so fresh and perfectly fried, the condiment bar its awesome and the sauces are out of this world. I literally put every sauce and didnt regret it one bit. The flavors of them all together are out of this world and they didnt mind us having horrible spanish. It was just over $2 a taco i beileve and we bought 3 each and we were stuffed. Seriously do yourself a flavor and visit this amazing food cart with super nice service!
Alex K — Google review
Tacos Fenix is a must-visit taco stand for anyone craving incredible street food in Mexico. They offer two standout taco options: fish and shrimp, both bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. The fish has no lingering aftertaste, and the shrimp is perfectly seasoned and juicy. While the stand often has a long queue, it’s worth the wait. There aren't many seats, so you’ll likely be standing and eating, but the experience is part of the fun. Pair your tacos with their spicy sauces for an added kick. Simple yet delicious, Tacos Fenix is a true gem for taco lovers!
Gayathri S — Google review
This is supposedly the home of the Baja taco. We stopped in and tried a couple. We were warned ahead of time that the various salsa were quite hot. We opted for the chipotle cream. The fish was very mild with a thin coating. We felt that the Salsa overwhelmed the flavor of the fish. It has a small number of tables and many of us ate on our feet. The tacos were messy enough that that made it pretty messy to eat and keep clean.
Todd P — Google review
Best fish tacos in Baja California, I highly recommend this place. They have a special to go. The service was fast and the people were so nice. There is limited seating don’t expect a restaurant just standing and enjoying the tacos is ok. You get to put all the toppings your self.
Manuela G — Google review
Excellent spot for fish tacos. Packed but the line moves fast. Bring pesos! Expect flavorful fish tacos with lots of options to decorate your fish taco. The shrimp tacos were arguably better. Light, crispy, and tasty. Just go, what are you waiting for?
Max S — Google review
So far The Beat Fish Tocas I’ve ever had in Baja! I’d like to think there might be some better so I’ll keep searching. But I know exactly where to go as soon as we arrive in Ensanda! Keep up the amazing work of providing all of us with the best fish tacos!!! Y U M !!!

Punta Morro is a stylish hotel with a seafood restaurant and bar, boasting a beautiful outdoor pool that offers stunning views of the bay. This modern casa sits along the Pacific Ocean, with its airy rooms exuding an upscale beach-house ambiance. The accommodations feature nautical striped rugs, cushions, and balconies for guests to enjoy the tranquil sounds of the ocean.
Great atmosphere, good service and outstanding food! Had the duck lasagna and it was spectacular, I will probably get the same plate next time. My brother had the swordfish plate and it was also outstanding. The views are also as spectacular as the food. The service is first rate. It was my mom's 86th birthday and they really took care of us. Definitely recommend it.
Roberto M — Google review
My wife, 6-year old daughter & I spent a long weekend here. Everything was fantastic! The location was flawless, everyone we encountered was kind & hospitable, and the restaurant was exceptional. We found that many of the staff spoke pretty decent English and were very forgiving with our limited Spanish. I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't leave San Diego for a weekend and come enjoy this beautiful location in Baja. P.S. If you're worried about "safety", there wasn't a single time we felt unsafe or uncomfortable, either on the hotel grounds, or in the surrounding areas of Ensenada.
Jason R — Google review
Let me start with the positive. It's a beautiful space ( exterior)Restaurant food and service are a solid 5-star. EXCELLENT. Now the rooms, are very outdated and need a lot of repairs. From the furniture to the doors. It doesn't match the exterior mid-century vibe. The screen door fell off, and the bathroom was a bit dingy also the carpet a bit gross. It definitely doesn't match $$$ we were charged.
Laura C — Google review
Guys I hate to write or say ill things about places that have great ratings all ready. But I need to be truthful. The reson I'm giving this place a 3 star and not a 5 is because of the service I received. The place a very, very elegant, beach view wonderful. The food was great, high quality. But the experience of the service was not there. The gentlemen whom serviced us was very dull, very dry, maybe he was just not having his best day. I feel bad about the whole thing because its not the cooks fault or the place or everyone else, it was just this unattractivenrss of our waiter. We didn't get asked, if our meal was okay, nor if we wanted anything else like others high end restaurants would do like "Villa Marina ". He didn't even ask if we wanted more to drink and we did, but never got the chance to because we didn't get asked. Sadly that is what happened. So, I would say come and check it out for yourselves and see if your experience would be better then mine. God bless everyone.
Rogelio J — Google review
Best kept secret in Ensenada! The rooms are wonderful with an amazing view! The pool was great with lots of space for everyone to enjoy it! The staff at the front desk, the bar, the restaurant, and housekeeping are top-notch. I wish I could find this level of service in the US. The bar staff made sure that I had everything that I needed for my day at the pool. I ate at the restaurant twice during my stay and the food was very up scale! The ocean view from the restaurant was breathtaking!! This will definitely be a place that I visit several times in the future!!!
Dave R — Google review
I have to say, this is an amazing location with a fantastic restaurant — definitely a highlight of our stay. That said, there's significant room for improvement in service and operations. When we arrived at the gate, the guard didn’t greet us properly or ask if we were guests. Instead of directing us to the restaurant or hotel, he just let us in without notifying the front desk. By the time we parked and got out (carrying two bags each), there was no welcome, no guidance, and the front desk had no idea we were arriving. With only 20 rooms in the entire property, you'd expect a more personalized experience. The front desk should at least be aware of who is checking in that day — especially when there were only two new reservations. The check-in process took 15 minutes, and it wasn’t until much later that the bellboy helped us with our bags — after they’d already been sitting there. The room itself was beautifully decorated, but unfortunately had some downsides: a strange odor, mosquitoes inside, a very loud and hard-to-use AC, and a TV that didn’t work. Another issue: I asked if we could have coffee sent to our room in the morning — we had a wedding to attend and limited time for breakfast. I was surprised to hear they don’t offer in-room coffee service, even at an extra charge. Breakfast doesn’t begin until 8 AM, which is not convenient for early schedules. At $280 USD per night, I expected better service and more attention to detail. With more thoughtful management and better guest experience, this place could easily become a world-class wellness destination. Right now, though, it feels like a missed opportunity. The restaurant, on the other hand, was outstanding. The food was excellent, albeit pricey — but you're also paying for the beautiful setting. Still, it was the best part of the stay. If you're looking for a peaceful night's sleep, this place might be one of the better options in the area — other hotels nearby are noisy. But be prepared for some service hiccups that don't quite match the high-end pricing.
Jonathan A — Google review
Got a really nice massage and facial, was very satisfied with the spa service but was under the impression we could use the sauna and pool after our $500 massage. They unfortunately declined our request to use the pool where we wanted to order food etc. We only came because we were under the impression we could do both.
Nick L — Google review
Stayed here for a week and a half around the Baja 1000 with the rest of the team. Super nice place, kept very clean. Pool and hot tub are well attended to. Only issue we had was putting the do-not-disturb sign on the door, yet still had someone come into our room to clean. That was interesting until we realized we had left out some cash in a couple areas and that was gone. Lesson there to lock everything up.

Muelle 3 is considered one of the best restaurants in Ensenada, Mexico, offering a delightful experience to diners. The restaurant treats guests to dishes like mussels, fish risotto, battered calamari, and the traditional ceviche. Its location by the marina provides a rewarding experience as visitors can admire the boats, listen to the nearby ocean waves, and witness stunning sunset reflections on the water. I had previously tried to go here because it was ranked #1 on TripAdvisor but unfit tú Arely it was closed. I’m glad I couldn’t go that time because I didn’t know that it is HIGHLY recommended to have a reservation. They have limited seating and are usually booked up. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We were a group of 8 so I got to try quite a few dishes. Each one very impressive and unique. They rely on the quality of the fish a lot and it really comes through, they also have some sauces which complement each dish perfectly. The burritos stood out for me specially. Highly recommend this place for good local cuisine.

Birrieria La Guadalajara is a popular spot offering beef, lamb, and goat stews served with tortillas, tacos, or fried beans. Great local food. Tacos were wonderful. Pricing was spot on. Good service. I highly recommend this location in Ensenda, as the tourist places (ex. Papas and Beer) charge more than U.S. city prices by far, when the food quality is very poor and drinks are worse. Birrieria La Guadalajara TACO'S were Great!

Excellent food and a local atmosphere. Authentic soft tacos at a good price. Indoor seating. After getting off our cruise and trying other tacos this place is the best we had in town and they did not try to rip us off or add extra charges to our bill so it is highly recommended.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Ensenada, look no further than Boules. This charming eatery has become a favorite among locals and travelers alike, thanks to its inviting outdoor patio adorned with twinkling lights and lush trees. The menu is a culinary adventure featuring mouthwatering dishes like seafood queso fundido, crab ravioli, and unique offerings such as bone marrow.
One of my favorite restaurants in Ensenada. The atmosphere is trendy and everyone is dressed to impress. Love how the layout is built around large magnolia trees which are a part of the inside decor. We had the rib eye and portobello risotto, both excellent. Perfect place for a romantic evening, a night out with friends, or for any type of celebration.

If you don’t read Spanish you will have a tough time ordering exactly what you want. Their menu is only online and only in Spanish so one can’t use a translator app to translate it. It is an outdoor restaurant so dress for it. They serve only two wines (one red & one white). You can get on the next door wine shop and order from them if you want a bottle. Slightly above average food for one who Dines often. There was a pesky dog begging at our table. Their ribeye was good the rest of the items were just okay. After I posted this we (the four of us) decided to go elsewhere to get some more food at another restaurant.

This is a really nice spot. Came here for dinner with my gf and had a really nice evening together. The food was very flavorful. The music playing was on point and not annoying. The only thing I would add is adding a nice pond with lilipads and fish and turtles down on the lower level. The designer did a nice job of building the space around the multiple live trees.

Nestled in the heart of Ensenada, Mexico, Boules emerges as a culinary sanctuary that epitomizes the confluence of refined taste, impeccable service, and an ambiance that whispers elegance with every detail. As a professional reviewer with a discerning palate and an eye for the quintessence of dining excellence, my encounter with Boules was nothing short of transformative. The moment my family and I stepped into Boules, we were enveloped in an atmosphere that melded sophistication with an inviting warmth, a rare balance that sets the stage for an unparalleled dining experience. The meticulously curated decor and thoughtful lighting created an ambiance that was both intimate and uplifting, perfect for a memorable evening. Service at Boules was a seamless blend of professionalism and personal touch. The staff demonstrated an intuitive understanding of guest needs, providing timely and discreet service that anticipated our desires without intrusion. This level of attentiveness is a hallmark of true dining excellence, contributing significantly to the overall experience. The cuisine at Boules is a testament to the artistry and passion of the culinary team. Each dish presented to us was a masterwork, skillfully balancing flavors, textures, and aromas to create a symphony of taste that lingered long after the last bite. The menu, a celebration of local ingredients with a nod to international influences, offered a journey through a spectrum of flavors that was both adventurous and deeply satisfying. Equally impressive was the value that Boules provided. The exceptional quality of the food, service, and ambiance far exceeded the expectations set by the pricing. It’s a rare delight to encounter a restaurant that offers such an extraordinary experience at a price point that underscores its commitment to accessibility and enjoyment for all patrons. Dining at Boules with my family was a highlight of our vacation in Mexico, a cherished memory that we will carry with us. It’s a place that transcends the act of dining, offering instead an experience that nourishes the soul and delights the senses. In conclusion, Boules stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, a place where every detail is a brushstroke in a larger masterpiece. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to those who seek not just a meal, but an experience that celebrates the joy of dining at its finest. Boules is not just a restaurant; it is a destination, a place where the art of fine dining is alive and well.

As usual Javie’s Boules did it again. We came with 8 people, service was excellent, the food was outstanding, even for our vegan friends. Drinks and wine outstanding. Been going there for years, NEVER DISAPPOINTED. 👍

Beautiful eatery in the heat of Ensenada with a brutalist/minimalist architecture vibe. The menu is divine and highly recommend the Risotto con Borrego and the Rib Eye con papas fritas. The cocktails are amazing, especially the Naked & Famous (Mezcal, Chartreuse, Aperol, Limon). The staff were phenomenal!

Hogaza Hogaza Panadería Suc. Primera is a delightful haven for food lovers, especially those who cherish quality ingredients and a vibrant atmosphere. This relatively new branch has quickly made a name for itself with its impressive selection of pastries, including the much-loved carrot cake and tiramisu. The menu also features healthy options like spinach salads and veggie paninis that are both delicious and satisfying. Plus, it's pet-friendly, allowing you to enjoy your treats alongside your furry friends!
Absolutely worth checking out. We had a croissant, cheesecake and the most wonderful elote muffin. So delicious and good service from the staff. Will definitely have to come back when in town.

The hazelnut cappuccino was amazing. Their pastry, bread and treats are a huge temptation. Come early and you will find a seat if not just take you it to go and walk down the street. On the weekends is better if you come early for your bread and expect some waiting.

Nice place with friendly staff. We had a chi tea latte, panini breakfast sandwich, mocha latte and Chilaquiles were amazing!

Since the first time we found this place, we like to stop by to get their super yummy granola and delicious pastries. My favorite is the tiramisu, but I also like the fruit tarts. My hubby likes the cheesecake and the lemon tarts. If I get my cappuccino early in the morning, I like to get a croissant to pair it with. They did went a little heavy on the crust this time, but the flavor was very good.

The best aroma when you walk in. I had to try a chocolate muffin based on me asking what was the best. I was enjoying it so much, I forgot to get a photo. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed a couple of these while on vacation. Will stop here every chance I get! There’s a lot to choose from. Thank you!

I am DELIGHTED to find a place that serves real greens! Spinach salad for the "verduras" side salad that is usually iceberg lettuce in other places. And it was so good. The veggie panini was amazing, too! I couldn't believe they used steamed greens in it! Sooo delicious! Portions weren't huge, and it was on the more expensive side, but 100% worth it for the quality ingredients and healthy-deliciousness!

I had just returned to Ensenada from Europe and was missing that wonderful bread there. I went to Hogaza Hogaza with that in mind and got an Excellent Baguette as good if not better than those I had in Paris and the Sourdough is also great. One added plus was I come looking for Focaccia and they also had that. It's what they use to make sandwiches. 3 locations and the best bakery in Ensenada

The best tiramisu in town!!!!!! A must visit just for this. We are one there and had to buy another one to go since it was that good! Tiramisu is super moist and the lady finger is so soft and yummy. I would come back here just for the tiramisu in a heartbeat.

Night club
Hussong’s Cantina, established in 1892, is a historic cantina bar located near Papas & Beer in Baja California. It's known as the birthplace of the margarita and offers an authentic Mexican pub experience with its noisy and crowded atmosphere. The cantina is housed in a historic stage-coach inn and features live bands on most nights, creating a lively environment where visitors and locals come together to enjoy music, singing, dancing, and toasting.
As a margarita enthusiast, I couldn’t pass up the chance to check out this spot! When we arrived, it was relatively quiet, but it didn’t stay that way for long. The place quickly filled up with lively visitors, and once the mariachi band started performing, it was a party! We kicked things off with margaritas, and though the glasses seemed small, they packed a serious punch! Strong but incredibly tasty, they were some of the best I’ve had. Despite the growing crowd, our server made sure we were never without drinks, keeping us well-supplied with margaritas, beer, and even a few rounds of shots. The prices were super reasonable, and the overall vibe was fantastic. Definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for great drinks and a fun time!

I was staying in Mandalay Bay and wanted a margarita. This was the perfect place and David O was the perfect server for our first visit. The food was on point. The only thing is $70 for a pitcher was a little extreme. However I would go again. 👌🏽👌🏽

This was a neat little bar that we came to for their margarita. They make it blended or on the rocks, but only have the original lime flavored one. It has a salt rim and was very tasty and a good drink to get before exploring more of the city. It's right next to a main road that has tons of shops and was a good place to walk arounf after delicious drinks.

Always a great experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Kid friendly, they have a play structure, sandy area, volleyball net, swimming pools of different depth, climbing wall. Love going for any reason. My family and I are always so comfortable that we feel like we are at home. Can never go wrong with staying here.

Called to get information as I’ve been there before and loved the pools. But the lady wasn’t polite at all (she wasn’t very rude either) she just hang up on me and wasn’t giving me options. The hotel should have a day pass too. Every time I’ve been there I have loved it. I’m just reviewing for this time so it is in mind
Roxanne P — Google review
Great hotel in every way! Ideal for a quick getaway. As a childless couple we would just like to recommend for the hotel to be more assertive on the rules on the pool area, specially on the jacuzzi, because kids below 12 years come and go as de please and the lifeguard is not always there. I hope that the hotel would give the rules to all people on the check in process.

Great place the rooms are dated but clean and they are massive. Was there for the week. The gym and facilities are really nice. But the pool has way too much chlorine.

I have stayed at Corral and Marina for now almost 18 years. Everything has been fine, but on this recent stay, I was very disappointed by the service, specifically the maintenance team. Upon my arrival, I tried to change the temperature of my room without success. I called the maintenance team, they reassured me they would adjust. I came back into the room later, and it was 25C!!! I called again, and was told, we are on our way. No one showed up. I want to the front desk to ask for assistance, only to be told, I will remind the maintenance team of your need. Stayed for 4 nights; couldn’t sleep…I will seriously reconsider staying here in the future.

Fast food restaurant
El Güero Ens 1981 is a seafood restaurant located in the coastal town of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. It serves up fresh and delicious seafood dishes at very reasonable prices. The waiters are skilled and will quickly prepare ceviche, seafood cocktails, and other dishes made from ultra-fresh Baja yellowtail, clams, shrimp, and oysters. The restaurant is simple but clean with a casual atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxed meal with friends.
El Güero seafood cart has some of the best seafood you’ll find in this area. We ordered the Especial Tostada (grande - large) which has a mixture of seafood such as shrimp, scallops, octopus, etc. They have a mini size available for a lesser price. On average the tostadas range from 150 pesos to 250 (which is about $8 to $13 depending on the peso to the dollar). Parking is somewhat difficult to find along those streets because it is a main tourist area, and many of those businesses have designated parking. We paid 100 pesos to park near the seafood cart. Keep in mind that they do not provide tables or chairs for guests. So, you’ll have to stand to eat your food. Definitely worth it!

I had two tostadas with mixed seafood, both were fresh and great tasting. The cart gets busy and service therefore lacks. I’m sure it’s better during slower times, can get crowded and kinda hectic.

I just want to say that my experience staying here was very pleasant. I enjoyed everything, food atmosphere, museum, room ,etc. It's a family atmosphere so this is great for families with kids . I highly recommend to stay more than one night and book the rooms with beach or pool view . Sink water ,shower and pool water is salty (not sure if is just me )but I don't mind it . It is not a brand new hotel , it might need a few little details to be fixed, but they keep it very clean , check in is not modern type with all the technology but it's not a big deal , staff is very friendly and nice . I highly recommend to visit the museum is free of charge , I enjoyed my vist there. Irma is a very nice knowledgeable lady .Thank Irma for all the knowledge you shared in our visit. Will definitely come back .God's willing.

Super friendly and helpful staff! Rooms could use some upgrading but were clean. Refrigerators and microwaves would be nice. Beach and ocean-front areas need more chairs. We were there at a very dead time, and it sometimes felt kind of abandoned. No jet ski rental during the week. Nice pool and jacuzzis.

Tacos de Pescado Marco Antonio is a popular spot in Ensenada, Baja California, known for its delicious seafood tacos. Once a tuna cannery, this restaurant now offers a variety of stew tacos featuring fish and seafood. Locals love the homemade and flavorful dishes, with specialties like the fish chicharron taco with chipotle shrimp and the smoked marlin quesadilla.
Food here Is amazing, this is more of a locals spot off the touristy area nearby. I had the marlin quesataco, shrimp quesataco and fish chicharrón taco, all three were great very flavorful, salsas were 🔥. Setting is cool inside an old machine shop. Definitely recommend and look forward to going back.

Delicious! Michelin guide recommended. Owner is very personable and passionate about his food and restaurant. Recommend all the dishes. Can’t wait to go back.

Hello everyone this spot is known for there fish tacos. They are really good it really brings a wonderful feeling to my taste buds. Come and try them for yourselves. Look at my photographs this place it literally like in a automotive garage.. Like always my brothers and sisters God bless.

Visiting Ensenada and saw this gem on TikTok and boy was I glad I came here. Tried the taco Ramses especial and that was very very good. Also tried the burrito marlin, marlin quesadilla, marlin empanadas and the taco de pescado chicharrón. Everything was very good as well as the salsas. The decor of the place was very cool and rustic and the customer service was excellent. Would definitely come back again if I’m ever in Ensenada.

The best tacos I've ever had in my life!!! If you don't speak Spanish and are too touristy, this won't be the place for you. Kind people, humble setting, but the food was unbelievable. I'm very glad I dragged my cousin along away from touristy areas to eat here. I'm not sure how it would go if you don't speak Spanish. I'm bilingual, so I ordered for both of us.
Chad L — Google review
In a closed-down tuna processing plant, the food lives up to the ambience. Not your average baja taco!!
Joh K — Google review
You walk in and you go up to the food counter to order.  I ordered the Marlin Taco, Fish Taco, Tuna Burrito and Consume.  It was a TON of food, I really really liked the Fish Taco tho.  On the side of the ordering counter you have a salsa bar.  I put the Chipotle sauce but it was super super spicy for me and I put way too much.  I really liked the Tuna burrito though.  After eating there is a cashier who collects the payment based on everything you ate. Overall it was a great start to the day but we ate way too much food, I was stuffed afterwards.

It’s cool Ordering is weird You kinda have to know but basically walk up to the stand and ask what you want, dress your tacos at the bar, and pay on the way out by the door

If you're on the hunt for a taco adventure, look no further than Taquería El Trailero, conveniently located just north of Ensenada along the toll road. This vibrant spot is easily recognizable by the long-haul trucks parked outside, hinting at its popularity among travelers. Here, you can indulge in an array of mouthwatering tacos featuring traditional fillings like cabeza (head), lengua (tongue), and cachete (cheek).
I have never seen anything like that, the way it operates is unbelievable, you order, eat and than tell them how much you ate and pay. The atmosphere is very nice, staff is friendly, food was on the other level, fish, shrimp tacos where the best i tried. Recommend this place to everyone.

Without a doubt the best and most popular place to get tacos here in Ensenada, service was extremely quick, it all tasted delicious, well cooked and the tortillas were awesome! We were in and out of there within 20 minutes, I visit this place at least once a week for the past 6 years and still my favorite 👌🏻

Castillo is a simple taco stand located in the corner of Avenida Mar and Avenida Juarez. They make some of the best fish tacos that you will ever taste, and they are perfect for locals and tourists alike.
Tacos Castillo is a classic street food stand with a straightforward setup — it can get busy, but the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a no-frills taco stand. The staff is friendly, and the customer service aligns well with the casual, fast-paced vibe of the place. We tried the tacos de camarón (shrimp) and pescado (fish). Compared to Tacos Fénix, the flavors and quality are nearly identical, with the main difference being the selection of salsas. The shrimp tacos were especially notable — the shrimp had a nice, bouncy texture, which speaks to its freshness even after cooking. Seating is minimal, just benches without actual tables unless you’re seated close to the fryer. It’s not the most comfortable, but it’s part of the experience. If Tacos Fénix has a long line, Tacos Castillo is a fantastic alternative since they’re so similar in taste and quality. Overall, I’d definitely go back for another quick taco fix!

Taco stand next to a michoacana. Close to the center and with many stores next to it. I crave them because its very simple, nostalgic, yet delicious! You usually stand eating the tacos because there's no space at rush hour but you don't mind as it's very relaxing. Very recommended! Shrimp and fish have a slight difference in thr breading but they are good.

Baja S — Google review
These tacos are famous. Like seriously featured in all YouTube videos about Ensenada, commented about, super hyped. I liked the efficient service, the clean clear containers, handing money through a plastic bag, and very generous servings of salsa, shredded lettuce, cucumber and radishes, and the sauces I would never be brave enough to try really looked delicious. The two "cremas" were mayonnaise and chipotle aioli. And, as for the fish, it was crispy, they have a very efficient technique for drying it at the border of the pan, and it was tasty. Was it tastier than El Johnny in Punta Banda? That would be a resounding "no". These folks are better organized and handled the long line very elegantly, though. Still a great experience!! I concur with the recommendations. Special mention to the staff.

It's a good place when you are in the area, the food is good as well and they have variety of options, from last time I have visited they reduced the portion sizes a little bit but still good. Please be aware that they do not take cards, is cash only and if you use dollars they will give you a low non-favorable exchange rate. I had the Marlyn tostada that day with shrimp on top. Cash only taco place with several types of seafood tacos. You order directly from the cook first. You pay after you'd had your meal. We went for lunch. Good not great. It came highly recommended, I had high expectations going in. The food is pretty for sure, though a little repetitive. I found the flavor a little flat and too oily, and while eating I had the impression as if everything was "missing something." It is good enough, not great.. for the price as a local I expected more, and a better flavor variety. Might return if invited as part of a group, I definitely wouldn't as a go-to spot. I've had better in town, even in hole-in-the-wall type spots..

Very good of street pizza to have as a night snack or after some drinks in the downtown area. The pros are the combination of flavors and NY style that never gets old The cons are that there is no bathroom, closed early for a night snack pizza and there is limited place to eat (you will sometimes eat in the street)

This is probably the best deal for pizza in Ensenada. You can take out or buy by the slice. The place is tiny, enough seating for a group of three, but the pizza is great, European style artisan oven thin crust and a very trendy atmosphere. Love going there.

Really didn't like the service, was visiting Ensenada with the family for the weekend. We were on the mood for pizza so by asking the locals we were directed to "La Stella Pizza" It's a small place buzzing with activity, so we thought it must be a good place. We went in ordered 2 pizzas, payed and were told to to wait about 25min. After 30min of waiting we went back to the counter to ask if the order was ready, told us to wait a bit longer because the were backed up with orders, waited a bit more a d went back to ask and that's when we we noticed the guy that took our order playing dumb. To make the story short our order came out when it should have, however they decided to give our order to a nightclub that had made a large order and turns out that it's a recurrent customer of theirs and the guys attitude was one of I don't care. In the end we ended waiting about 2hrs to get our order. Very bad service.

Tacos El Poblano is a renowned restaurant located in Playas de Chapultepec, Ensenada. It has gained recognition for its delicious tacos, particularly the grilled beef taco that stands out for its exceptional flavor and quality. The restaurant's handmade tortillas, perfectly cooked pastor, and flavorful asada have received high praise from critics and visitors alike.
Try one beef taco with a squeeze of lime then decide if you’d more! The flavor of each ingredient works in harmony. The butteriness of guacamole, the texture of finely diced onions, the aroma of cilantro, the refreshing taste of red salsa, the savoriness of diced beef, and those satiating claypot beans. All put together in a flour tortilla fold. Heavenly!!! Like the beens especially (Even after four tacos, did not suffer from bloating or passing gas).

Adobo and Asada tacos seem to be the thing to get, a taco with “everything” has cilantro, onions, salsa, guacamole and beans. The tortillas are fab, I got the corn, super soft I want to take them home with me! Order quesatacos if you like cheese, and try the spicy pickled onion mix in the large container it was so good. Tanto Santo Pizzeria is a delightful culinary gem that offers individual-sized pizzas bursting with creative flavor combinations. The secret to their deliciousness lies in the use of Masa Madre, a sourdough starter that gives the crust an incredible depth of flavor. With fresh ingredients and a friendly staff eager to assist, guests can enjoy not only pizza but also refreshing salads and even pasta sourced from the neighboring restaurant.
Dec 31,2023: Individual size pizzas have creative flavor combinations. Pizzas are made with Masa Madre (sour dough starter). Pros: the dough has flavor and the ingredients are fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful. We asked for pasta and they brought it from the restaurant next door. The salad had a refreshing taste. We ordered the Purple Rain, Margarita and a summer squash. We order a Nutella Calzone to go. All the food was delicious. We will definitely be back. We are able to see the pizza guys stretch the dough, place ingredients and flash bake pizza in the pizza oven. Cons: seating was uncomfortable- tables are too close together (we had to share a table with complete strangers. (I guess to avoid this issue, many customers ordered to go and they had lots of take-out orders. Overall the food, wine and staff were wonderful- I recommend the Purple Rain pizza if you like roasted beets.

Pizza looked and tasted good, but I'm afraid the flour they are using is Not of quality, not Italian flour. Reason, when. I eat in Pasta Basta in Rosarito, I never have stomach noise people problems as I did for hours and hours. They must be using poor quality flour. The flour in North America is full of toxins including Roundup. I got diarrhea next day.

We travel 40 weeks out of the year, and pepperoni pizza is my wife's favorite. This pizza is the closest thing to Naples, Italy you are going to get! The reason: they understand what real pizza dough is all about: flavor, size and texture. Aside from using sourdough and fresh ingredients, they got the temperature and technique down for all their offerings. It's a quaint location nestled in a closed-off street, easy for walking about.

Visited Friday evening, July 25 – Tacos Floresta is a gem! I had the cheese-filled jalapeño tacos and my husband had the fish tacos—both were absolutely delicious. Small taco stand which is a block from tacos el fénix. I had the order of 5 fish tacos and just that little preparation they make for you before you add sauce makes this location way better than tacos el fénix in my opinion. The shrimp tacos had more flavor in the batter; unfortunately, my stomach could only hold so much since I could have probably gotten another 5. I would say check this place out, tacos el fénix is good but I think would go to this place instead.

Update for April 2023: Unfortunately I do not like the fish they are using. Sometimes you get a good piece and sometimes you get a bad one that was not trimmed good. The staff are still friendly and helpful but ultimately the food is what matters. ------------------------------------------ They still have good fish tacos. Friendly workers and good portion size most of the time. This is my second winter eating here and they are pretty consistent. I have had better tacos at other stands in the area but they are not as consistently good quality and portion size.
Dave B — Google review
These tacos lived up to their reputation and became one of my regular stops in Ensenada. The shrimp tacos were my favorite. The mako shark is good but would prefer a different type of fish. The best part is the batter which has the right crisp and delicious flavors.
Mario Z — Google review
Our last Baja Fish taco experience was upon us and we had a list of three different taco stands from Taco Chronicles that we wanted to try in Ensenada. Since they are steps apart we planned to do them all in one night, 3 stands, 1 fish and 1 shrimp taco at each! Here’s how it went: Tacos Floresta: This stand had the best vibes but maybe it’s because a guitar busker was there, setting the scene with a mournfully beautiful mariachi song. Or maybe because we had a funny conversation with the locals about the range in heat on the salsa bar. There was also Jamaica (ruby red dried hibiscus juice) to refresh the palate with. I didn’t see the habanero/onion slaw that I love (in little amounts) but there was still a good amount of salsa bar and crema options.

Tacos El Zarpazo is a hidden gem along the Pacific coast that promises an unforgettable taco experience. With its commitment to using top-quality ingredients, this spot serves up mouthwatering tacos featuring handmade tortillas, perfectly grilled steak, and flavorful adobada (pastor meat). The addition of fresh avocado salsa and vibrant red salsa typical of Baja elevates each bite. Many visitors rave about their asada and adobado tacos, claiming they rival even the best offerings from Tijuana.
Best tacos de asada and adobado in Ensenada. We’re from Los Angeles and these are absolutely the best I’ve had out here. Just as good as Tijuana which to me have the best tacos in the world.

This is a worth the detour if you want good tacos! Homemade tortillas, good salsa and the asada tacos are delicious! We did not try the tortas, but they looked so good and tasty!

Best Birria Tacos around. But you gotta get there before 1pm? 3pm? I’m not sure. Call. But definitely worth a visit. So juicy. My favorite. Will always stop here.

Best taco I had while there. Off the beaten path but so worth it!!
Summer M — Google review
This place is highly recommended by locals. My experience was on a Sunday morning, we arrived around 10 am, no patrons just waiters and grill personnel. Asked for service, the waitress giggled telling us that there were no tortillas lady in yet. I asked what other options did I have since they were any tortillas, she giggled again, the grill staff laughed and told us again “the lady that makes the tortillas hasn’t arrived”. Couldn’t tell if they were good tacos. I might think that they serve later, so I really don’t know why they open so early.
Gabriel D — Google review
Some of the greatest tacos along the Pacific coast… El zarpazo combines top of the line ingredients to recreate what Mexican food is about… thin handmade tortillas, grilled soft steak, impressive adobada (pastor meat), avocado salsa, fresh red salsa (typical from Baja), etc… (the list goes on and on) to produce an exquisite taco experience. It is a must to visit along the seafood Baja tacos.

Delicious! Good size tacos. The arrachera meat was tender and tasty. The tamarindo agua was very good! Service was outstanding, order came quick. Also, the bathrooms were clean. I definitely recommend this place!

Food portion is good, service is very good, food was ok, our meat were some little overcooked, and some needed more flavor . We order a mixed, ribs, arrachera, sausage, tripitas flavor was just not there for me. .

Very nice and friendly food was great. Very authentic great ribeye steak and Tortas
Mario G — Google review
Have you ever heard of a steakhouse The grills are steaks in the morning and then put them in the refrigerator and then when they get orders they take them out warm them up either in the microwave or on the on the griddle and then serves it to the customer this place was very disappointing they do everything possible to cut corners and make their experience bad for the customers. My wife and I went in we ordered two ribeye steaks and when they brought them out they were about a quarter of an inch thick and so cold in the middle The baked potato was about 2 days old this whole thing cost us just short of a thousand pesos to ribeyes in two glasses of water that they charge 35 pesos for. I would not recommend this place to anybody take your money somewhere else because this place is not cheap and it's not good when you spend that much money on a piece of meat you don't want to leftover piece of meat that was cooked this morning or yesterday morning or who knows when. The surface service was pretty good and a parking was adequate but the food was just horrible and the waitress said that's just the way they do it is that way all the time I couldn't believe how honest she was with us she told us exactly what they were doing what a shame.

First and last time there! Horrible service I asked my server what was in the baked potato and I asked her specifically for just cheese and the meat only and also a quesadilla on the side. When my food came it was all wrong, my baked potato had everything I didnt want in it and to top it off they forgot my quesadilla. After the server got my order wrong they wanted to charge me again for remaking it when it was their mistake. I didn't even get to eat, I didn't want to have to pay twice which is what they were tryna make me do. Its ridiculous NEVER COMING BACK!!

It's pretty darn good says me and my family. I had the Mexican combo which was una chili relleno, una enchilada roja, and a rolled taco with beans of course. The chips and salsa for the table were also too good. The staff and atmosphere are very warm and friendly. Guests rave about the generous portions and unlimited sides, including guacamole, which add to the overall value of your meal.
We visited this place early in the morning while some were still preparing it and ordered one Asada and one Abobada as we had a busy day of local sightseeing ahead. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and accommodating, even with my limited Spanish, but my husband's basic knowledge and our mutual efforts helped us communicate. Their Asada was exceptional!

Fantastic tacos, I came back to my home town after many years and passed by to some taco stands on my way from Tijuana but nothing compares to the tacos El Original. I tried buche, tripa, caveza but the best ones by a mile are the adobada ones. Stop on your way or make it your destination, you won't regret it.

As a gringo from California I really appreciate how clean this place is. Even if you can’t speak Spanish they will patiently play Mexican charades until you get the order placed. Generous portions, fabulous taste and friendly staff. I recommend it to all my airbnb guests.

The best taco of the 3 I ordered was the cabeza...the tripa I've had better...the adobada was terrible way to much cinnamon...I liked their red salsa best...service was good...prices were reasonable for the size of the portions.
David B — Google review
My husband enjoyed his asada tacos, the server was attentive, the agua frescas tasted natural. Honestly i feel like they were a bit overpriced. And just to add cheese we were charged 110 pesos for a taco.

Great tacos and great customer service. The tacos here are a little bigger than the normal sized tacos and all the sides including guacamole are free and unlimited. Please don't waste your time to stop by here. The atmosphere and service is absolutely horrible. We tried to enjoy a cup of coffe, beer, with a pastry but we could not because of a person who the whole time was using a vacuum cleaner that was very loud. When we complained to the manager he simply said "if you don't like it well then you can leave." Wow, not the way to run a business, at least not one that want's to succeed. Please don't waste you time or your money at this establishment.

Great place to chill and have a nice time, coffee is great and also have beer, the terrace is the best part. The only flaw is on their brunch menu, seems has not flavour at all; at least the chilaquiles that I ordered had no flavour on the sauce and the beans needed more salt and seasoning.

Takoyaki QuruQuru is a cozy little Japanese restaurant that offers a unique dining experience. While it doesn't serve sushi, the menu features new and delicious items that are worth trying. The limited menu makes choosing easier, and the ramen noodle bowls are described as filling and tasty. Despite its small size with only four tables, the place tends to get full quickly, indicating its popularity.
This was my first non-sushi Japanese cuisine experience. I tried the miso ramen, gyoza and the takoyaki. Delicious and very pleasant. Only one cook and he did an amazing job at making it look and taste great. Friendly staff and environment. It's always a good sign when the tables are full and there are people waiting in line. I can see myself going for a bowl of miso on a cold winter day soon.

Takoyaki is now called Gokumaru Ramen. It's confusing and you can easily miss the spot. That being said, this is hands-down, the best ramen and japanese cuisine spot in all of Baja, beats any place in Mexicali, Tijuana or Rosarito. Very small little nook of a restaurant. Food is not typical of what you expect from a Japanese restaurant. No sushi but offers other items that were new to me. Menu is very small and limited which made choosing easier. The ramen noodle bowls were very filling and tasty. We also tried a few other dishes and will be back. They only have four tables and it was full when we got there. We had to wait a bit for a table but it was worth it. There was only the cook and the waitress so they were very busy. The chef looked like he was Japanese. Other reviews mention how authentic the food is and I have to admit it was not typical of what you expect. Also it was not easy to find. It's located in an outdoor shopping area with lots of little stores and cafes. Had to keep looking to find it but it was worth it.

(Translated by Google) Sometimes they're very good, other times they're a bit bad, depending on the stew you get... but since I'm a fan of liver, it was bad. I won't order it again; the meat was a bit tough... sorry. The staff are very friendly. The tables were always a little dirty; they don't clean them after someone finishes eating 🥲, and it's not very hygienic.

(Translated by Google) Quiet, very clean place with ocean views. Very attentive staff. Just one recommendation: whether the diner orders flour or corn tortillas, bring what they ordered. Hamburger restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Restaurant
Fast-food chain known for its variety of piled-high burgers & meal combos, plus shakes.
We were luckily served quickly by the staff, even though it was freaking busy in the breakfast shift. You can never go wrong with a little biscuit breakfast with an Oreo cookie milkshake. The place was clean as it usually is in a Carl's Jr joint. By buddy had a breakfast burger, which is a soft buns containing bacon, eggs, burger beef, cheese and a hash browns, the bomb!
Horus B — Google review
This Carl’s Jr. just outside Puerto de Ensenada is a solid choice if you’re looking for a quick, hassle-free meal. The food is exactly what you’d expect from a fast-food chain, but what stood out was the friendly staff, clean establishment, and fair pricing. Unlike some tourist-heavy spots, there’s no price gouging or gimmicks—just a legit business offering good service at reasonable prices. A great option for a quick and stress-free bite!
Jon P — Google review
Hands down best Carls Jr. I have been to. They have both Tecate and Indio on tap, which was surprising because in the US, they do have that. I got the chicken sandwich and the chicken itself was delightful and very crunchy. Customer service was great as well, they come and bring your food and they ask what condiments you want at your table.
Alvaro H — Google review
Terrible service, my food took too long and they gave it to me cold. I asked for the bathroom and they weren't kind enough to give me the door code. I think it's absurd to have that set up. Apparently, the manager is arrogant because he also answered rudely and impolitely. Never coming back to this place again having a bad time
Ricardo M — Google review
Wow if your not used to se large Carl's Jr restaurant like back in the 80's .. this is a must stop. It so much larger, service to your table, very clean and take us cards. If your onto alcohol they sell that and aguas fresca aswell. Like always my brothers and sisters feed your food souls and God bless.

Ensenada, at the coast, embraced by a plethora of things to see, do, enjoy! Well maintained, good service, nice aromas. Wifi equipped, & charging outlets complimentary while dining is so appreciated. Music videos create an energetic atmosphere, covered open air patio seating with views of bustling traffic. Puerto Vallarta's CJrs has ocean views of cruise ships, yet I like the vibe at this locale better. Care needs to be taken for the bathroom(s), particularly under toilet seats. Gross. Not sanitized at all, evidenced by the layers of waste. Exterior trash canisters ignored, am crew.
Goddess M — Google review
Run so well it's almost immaculately run. Beautifully maintained and cared for by attentive staff members. The dining area is spacious, offering plenty of light-hearted fun and relaxation for customers of all ages. Clean and spacious bathroom. There is something for everyone here, and everyone can just relax and have fun.

This Carl's Jr in particular serves tap beer (Tecate light and Indio). Super clean, bigger than other locations. Seems to be new

43Taquería Jalisco #2

Taco restaurant
The tacos at Taquería Jalisco #2 are highly regarded and considered some of the best in town. Many customers stumble upon this restaurant after visiting Buffadora, but they quickly discover a great selection of tacos and a delightful salsa/condiment bar. The prices are reasonable, making it an affordable option for families as well. Both the locals and visitors appreciate the deliciously grilled asada tacos offered here, along with the attentive service provided by the staff.
This place has the best food. I have never had better tacos/quesidillas ever. I cannot express how delicious the food was. Very clean. Clean bathrooms. Clean water. Service was very good and friendly. I would give this place a 10 if I could.
Kellee W — Google review
I agree these might be the best tacos we just happened to stumble on coming back from Buffadora. Great selection and salsa/condiment bar. Good prices too.
David C — Google review
Great food, and the prices are great. We fed our entire family of four including drinks for less than $40.00.
