Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Niseko-cho

We went for dinner on 1 Jan 2025. They could accommodate our request for an earlier seating. It was a 4 course set menu (JPY16,000 with additional JPY7,000 for wine pairing). Oysters were very fresh although I didn’t much like the pickled radish as it detracted from the taste profile. The grilled unagi complemented the smooth Foie gras, served with homemade petite brioche. The main was the wagyu tenderloin cooked medium rare accompanied with burdock (whole and purée) and jus (cooked for 3 days). It was tender, rich and flavorful. Paired well with both Pinot and CabSav. However it was the dessert (thinly sliced carrot cake served over mousse, very punchy ginger gel and chilli mousse) that took us by surprise. The flavors paired beautifully with dry sparkling wine. Service was great (thank you Hayley) and inside the barn was cosy and welcoming like a warm hug).

The whole experience was amazing, we had the Wagyu fried potatoes, hokke fish appetizer and the mushroom main course dish and the 24 hour braised beef was out of this work! Emily who served us was superb and genuine, looking after us and even gave us some surprises homemade rum shots as she knew we were going out to town for a few more drinks. :)

I regret coming here. We did the set menu paired with the wine tasting. In total it was $150 usd. I wish I would’ve spent $150 on sushi instead. The oyster was 1 bite, and was okay. Nothing special with the taste. Really was just all presentation. Then the bread and butter 2nd course was sub par with the tinest piece of eel you’ve ever seen. The appetizers were not exciting. For the price, I feel like it should be something that makes me say “WOW”, but it wasn’t close to that. I will say, the wagyu steak and mashed potatoes were delectable, very very tasty! Probably the most tender steak I’ve had. But again, the portion was so small. I understand it was a tasting menu which means small portions, but I really just didn’t feel that I got my money’s worth. Then for desert, it was essentially whipped cream on a plate with fancy decorations. Literally just whipped cream… For $150 at least give us a slice of cheesecake or something satiating. We went and ate at the food trucks after our meal because we were still hungry. Also the atmosphere was loud and just didn’t have that fine dining feel. I think this place is a tourist trap.

We had the best dinner ever tonight! Beautiful table by the window, the service was impeccable! The timing of the courses was perfect! Thank you for making us feel so special!

One of several restaurants that serves western meals (not counting eateries within hotels), it is a popular dining option for tourists/skiers who want something that doesn't need to be google translated. The space is a modified barn. Open and airy which is nice. Located near other restaurants, it is in a good location. In terms of food, it is good. A decent but small selection of dishes covering each major food group. Nothing super creative but dishes that most western diners will be familiar with. The only disappointment for the evening was the fish. It was bland and boring. Serving sizes are ok but not overly generous. Service is fast from the young wait staff. I suspect they have at least a second seating if not a third. Prices are on the high side or we'll just call it mountain price.

Menu was very limited and food tasted kind of weird for our taste (We did not order from the set menu). The seats were kind of cramped. Staffs were very attentive though and the building was interesting.

It was a good meal. Well prepared course. We loved the all the dishes and drinks. Will go back. — Visited again in 2023! It was good. We thought chicken was quite nice. Many dishes were salty but I’m very sensitive to salty food. The wine was good but pricy. Strawberry salad with cheese was nice. The staff are kind. You can make a reservation for a large group; we were a group of 14.

We had very good time there and we did enjoy the dinner. Especially the soba, it’s the most delicious soba I’ve ever had! The lady served us is very pretty and funny, she helped us to take very good photos!

We had an amazing dining experience at this cozy restaurant. Reservations are a must to experience its culinary delights. Despite initial hesitations about its focus on soba, we were pleasantly surprised. While the soba stood out, every dish was expertly crafted and delicious. We'll definitely be recommending and revisiting this gem during our next trip.

What an experience! The service was beyond amazing, and the owners were super friendly. We were able to reserve a table in advance for lunch and enjoyed a multiple course tasting. Everything was presented like beautiful art and you can tell they really take pride in their craft. I highly recommend to anyone stopping by Niseko to experience this wonderful meal!

Excellent soba noodle restaurant, they make it from scratch in front of the guests, the chef uses different kind of stick to roll the dough…... Owner is a very lovely old couples, lady boss is very elegant looking and friendly. Food overall is great, except the sabu sabu is not really our taste (but that’s just a personal thing as we prefer sukiyaki more than plain fish stock sabu sabu)………

Exquisite kaiseki meal. Every course was sublime. Delicious and meticulously served. The soba at the end was the best part. The soba water and soup was the perfect finisher to this luxurious meal. We also had the gold leaf sake which was dry and perfect with the meal. Amazing service. Must book far in advance. Highly recommended.

This family owned restaurant is one of the best I have eaten in Japan. The cozy cottage felt like you were dining in their home.

Made a booking online after recommendation from a friend. Wasn't sure if to book for 3 pax dining or 4 pax as I was bringing along my 4 mth old baby. Appreciate the email communications (in English) to clarify. They even checked if my other child (<12 yrs old) prefers grilled/cooked vs raw food. It's run by a lovely couple and their son, Tatsuru Rai & Midori were SUPER friendly :) Precovid, it was one of the hardest reservations to score for Niseko. Thankfully as Japan just reopened and we had come before the ski season, we managed to get a reservation and were the only guests for the night. Every dish was scrumptious, oishi!! 👍🏼8 course meal with melon ice cream for dessert 😋😋 Watching soba master make fresh soba from scratch was a special experience. He made it look so easy, surreal. Definitely practiced to perfection. We enjoyed the dinner very very much! Highly recommended! His son will be running an izakaya next door from mid Dec 2022. Hope to check it out the next time we visit Niseko =)

This izakiya place is small but food was quite good, staff were able to understand some level of English so it was easy for us to order. Their fried food was delicious, they do have a decent range of selection on drinks and food.

Good izakaya place which can hold a large group. There were 8 of us. Need to make a reservation in advance though. Affordable price for food and alcohol. My fav was salmon and sashimi. Oden was not too bad too.

Lovely little Izakaya in Hirafu town. We had so many dishes I had to think long and hard about which my favourites were. Food in order of deliciousness. 1. The place is tiny so book ahead. 2. Shot of the exterior 3. Never say no to thick cuts of sashimi. This Maguro looked especially nice. 4/5. Garlic Beef hot plate. It actually wasn't tender but the flavour was really good. Juicy and fatty umami. 6. Basic house salad with yummy tomatoes. Super refreshing. 7. Deep fried octopus bites. Yum. 8. Prawn tempura was actually pretty good too. Nice meaty prawn 9. I always enjoy tofu salad. Served cold and clean tasting. 10. These deep fried sweet corn was unexpectedly good. 11. Jap oysters were fresh but lacked creaminess. 12. Grilled beef tongue. Amazing texture. 13. Grilled salmon belly was really good, and dripping with fat 14. One thing I noticed about Saba fish in Japan. I much prefer the Singapore ones which are frozen and salty. The texture here is better but the flavour is blander and loaded with too many small bones to enjoy 15. Suntory my regular go to drink when in Japan. 16. Great spot for dinner in Niseko! Definitely make a reservation or get there right when they open because it’s a small restaurant and quite popular. Only gets 4 instead of 5 stars because a few things we ordered were bland (fried rice and potatoes with cheese.) Everything else was good though, and lots of veggie options!

Amazing izakaya. Exceeded expectations. We had the sashimi which was super fresh, the kakifry (fried oysters) so delicious, the crab was super sweet and fleshy, the beef was tender if over marinaded, and the crab fried rice omg. To die for. Soooooo good. Will definitely be back and highly recommended. Very small space so book weeks in advance especially in peak season.

Other izakayas are just better in Niseko - I’m confused by the relative high rating. Food was quite mid - the asparagus tempura was our favorite of a number of things we tried. Salmon don and cheesy potatoes were also good. Felt low energy. The best part was the service.

We had great time here, the sashimi is very fresh, the salad is delicious, especially the Hokkaido fried potato shreds. The waitress is very nice and she is very friendly to my son. We had a great experience.

Below average, don’t come. We arrived and ordered the Hana omakase set and a bottle of sake. We were not asked at any point if there’s anything we didn’t prefer or didn’t eat. We ordered a ¥15,000 and we got cheap tall sake glasses. The sashimi started out fine but it was rare to find octopus sashimi at an expensive restaurant. Then we had a seafood salad, it was interesting and the friend shoestring potatoes gave the salad a nice crunch. But the seafood was lacking and overall not high quality - scallop skirts, thin slices of tasteless tuna and salmon and some octopus bits. The salad dressing was a store bought sesame dressing. Before we had finished the salad, we were served chawanmushi (steamed egg custard). But before we could even start that, a massive tuna collar was served. Pacing was definitely very off. We asked for the meal to be slowed down. The star of the dinner was the grilled tuna collar. This was well executed, very flavourful but missing a citrus sauce to cut the fattiness. We were served a giant oyster (no explanation where it was from) and it was super milky and creamy. It is fine but I personally prefer crispier oysters. This is a preference and not an issue with the oyster. After that we were served sushi. The ikura had no flavour, the toro was tough and had ligaments, the pre prepared gunkan had soggy seaweed and the raw surf clam is just not for everyone. 80% of the surf clam was left on the table. And they serve staff didn’t ask if everything was okay and also just left lots of plates with a few bits of food left on the table. The second round of sushi was better, but nothing really interesting or unexpected. We ordered a second bottle of sake ¥20,000 and we were given normal glass cups this time. Was it terrible? Some parts were. Would I come back? Definitely not. There are so many better options at ¥16,000 per person.

The food is so delicious and from the presentation to the ingredients, everything is impeccable! Besides this, the staff are super friendly and too bad we don’t speak Japanese, but they chatted and laughed with all the guests, love the atmosphere!! Although we don’t speak Japanese, they all gave us big smiles!! The set menu price is sooo good!

Despite specifying that children under 12 were not allowed, there were two local children. There were two local women at the counter. And our party. We ordered a decent sake, no ritual choosing of our sake cups. There was only a set menu with no specifics e.g. chawanmushi, grilled dishes, 8 pieces nigiri sushi, dessert. Service was perfunctory and fast, too fast until we asked them to slow down (after the seafood salad arrived with the grilled tuna collar). Seafood salad contained unidentifiable bits except for 4 slices of salmon and loads of leaves. Chawanmushi was very plain and I found 2 lumps of chicken, a ginkgo nut and a slice of fish cake. The sushi was ordinary and in some cases bland. No one had asked us whether we had any dietary restrictions or preferences so we all left pieces we don’t normally eat. A disappointment as I’d been there two years running pre Covid with friends who hv a house nearby.

We had an amazing dinner with the freshest sashimi and sushi. We had the counter seat and it was mesmerising watching the chef at work. Each bite was delicious and it was well worth the drive out. The owners were very lovely and tried their best to engage in conversation with us even if english wasn’t their native tongue. We will definitely return again if we return to Niseko.

33000 per head omakase dinner, providing sashimi with fish bone, cheap fish, poor dish presentation. There are total 11 of us attending this dinner with our private room. The chef didn’t serve us at all, the food are providing in a big dish. There are no good food at all, the only little uni sushi is not sweet, and there are so many dishes with salmon. Looks like a 3300 set rather than a 33000 yen omakase. I do not recommend this restaurant at all unless you hate the person so much you can ask him or her to go here. Very disgusting food experience in here.

It doesn’t get any better than this in Niseko. You must go here. I waited for a seat to open up at the bar because I knew it would be completely worth it. The whole staff is so friendly, kind and welcoming, so refreshing. I had the Hokkaido Venison, Fried Salmon and Sponge Cheesecake. One of the chefs thanked me for waiting and gave me a great glass of sake out of appreciation! Rare to see a combination emasculate food and customer service. My last night in Niseko is tomorrow and I will probably go again. Such a great vibe here. Like other reviewers, show up very early or late. The place really cleared out about 7pm and people were easily able to get a seat right in front of the chefs without reservation. They are booked for weeks with reservations, but it is definitely worth showing up early or later. Incredible experience!

Wonderful yakitori dinner. Staff was sweet, and we were fortunate to receive seats without reservation. The owner warmly greeted us with conversation and we enjoyed 12 skewers, sashimi plate, oysters, grilled hotte, deer steak, a few sides and desert. No regrets on anything, but the chicken tail, wagyu and pork cheek skewers were the best of all. The deer steak was excellent, no gamey taste and wonderfully tender. Hotte was perfectly grilled and of course the sashimi and oysters were some of the best quality of our trip. We spent about $110pp USD with beers and desert. Our counter seats offered views of the yakitori chef who was so professional managing every detail, even the perfect charcoal placement, and the owners son was helping in all areas, great to see the family run business stroll thriving after 40yrs. Really a great experience that lives up to its reputation and so grateful they keep 2 counter seats for walkins, and that we were the lucky ones tonight!

We visited Bang Bang last night as a walk-in without a reservation. The staff was generally polite, but the service was disorganized. We were told to wait outside for 10 minutes, only to see other customers walk straight in and get seated before us.As for the food, it was overpriced for the quality. The wagyu was excessively fatty we couldn't finish it, and the sashimi and yakitori were just average—not bad, but nothing special. Given the high prices, we expected better. Overall, a disappointing experience with decent but unremarkable food and inconsistent service.

This place is always so hard to get reservations, you might get lucky either by walking in early (at 5pm) or emailing in for a reservation weeks before. However, it is worth it! The chicken heart yakitori and chicken wings are amazing. They have a really hearty ochazuke to start or end your meal. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff are really friendly as well!

All the food was so delicious. The sashimi was the freshest I have had in my life. Our waiter and all the staff were SO kind to us. Thank you all. We hope to come back again soon.

Recommended to sit at the counter to watch the chef in action! Their menu is extensive and features izakaya favourites like kushiyaki, seafood menus that are popular in Hokkaido, sake and wine etc. I could tell there were regulars dining there, which goes to show their level of service. Price is a tad expensive for us, but this is Niseko after all.

Bang bang was one of our favorite restaurants in Japan. Everything we tried was delicious- wagyu beef and mushroom skewers were our favorite. We were lucky and got a seat at the counter where you can watch the grill master which made the experience more unique. Reservations are needed as this place is always packed. If you can’t find a table online you can give them a call. That’s what we did and we were able to get a spot the same day.

The food was amazing and service was excellent. Really loved every single course and will definitely come again. The chef was also so friendly and came to say hello.

This is my favorite french restaurant experience so far! The food is so good, refreshing and enjoyable. Some of the remarkable dishes were trout salmon (raw), egg custard soup, puffer fish tempura, wagyu, truffle butter and dessert! So lucky to be able to celebrate my birthday here with friends!

We had a 11-course tasting menu, each dish is prepared with creativity, high quality ingredients, thoughtful combination, and perfect execution. Every dish has a surprise; every dish pleases. 5-star on services, attentive staffs, knowledgeable sommelier, friendly and resourceful attitude. Will definitely come back again.

My favourite restaurant at Hirafu ski town which is a Michelin star French restaurant using largely fresh Hokkaido ingredients. Impeccable restaurant ambience, high service quality & of course very delicious & innovative cuisines. Each dishes have been carefully cooked, arranged & presented. Despite the very high standards, I would think the meal cost is very reasonable but of course not cheap. We tend to dine out here at least one night whenever we travel here. The chef is very attentive not only to details but also restaurant customers too.

We had a lovely time at Kamimura during our visit in February 2019. The couple tables are fantastic because you are seated facing a large ceiling to floor window, away from the dining room,like a private room. We had the early bird menu which had 6 courses. Every single dish was lovely, we particularly enjoyed the brown rice risotto and grilled chicken. The pairing of local ingredients & flavours with French technique was very well done. Service was great and the petit fours we're also fabulous!

When it comes to fine dining, I would say that I have a pretty high standard - especially when it comes to quality of service and ingredients used. I had some pretty high expectations for this Michelin starred spot (note that we went for the early bird meal)... And it did not disappoint. Plates were creative but not too weird. All the food was cooked to perfection and local ingredients were used. The staff was incredibly approachable and since it's a bit of a ski-bum town, I felt like the right amount of casual was used (I hate places with too much pretentiousness). The chef came out to greet everyone as well. Everyone was super attentive but not over bearing. I think when you first look at the price tag, you may thing this place is really expensive - but we spent 5 nights in Niesko and this by far was the best food, best experience, and when you pay $20+ USD per person for food at the food trucks - this place was very reasonable. I actually wish we went here twice rather than another high end spot in town. Highly recommended.

We booked Rosso Rosso niseko a week in advance for a friends birthday. Niseko is quite busy in winter. Booking ahead definitely recommended for anything decent. I had to give credit card details for the booking in case we didn’t turn up or cancelled. This is pretty standard these days so not overly worried. The restaurant is a little trick to find even though we were familiar with the area. Walked over a snow bank and through neighbouring properties to get to the front door. The seating times are strict, so recommend turning up on time to avoid being rushed at the end. As a group of 4 we were easily accommodated. We loosened up with a nice bottle of sake to share. This is a steak house. Very good quality steak. The menu gives a little background on the different breeds and regions the beef is from. Appetiser - smoked salmon and shrimp amuse bouche. Very fresh and tasty. Entree of bacon wrapped scallops with red wine sauce. Thought red wine sauce with seafood was an odd pairing but was a great dish. All at table agreed and lapped up the sauce. Side of garlic bread (seemed the better choice over rice). Nothing special. We all ordered the matsusaka beef fillet course. The whole table had done medium rare (recommended). So soft and velvety. The most amazing texture. !! Lacked seasoning and maybe some direct flame/high heat to finish for flavour. This was a great steak. We shared a bottle of western Australian alkoomi 2016 Shiraz. Very well paired. Dessert - yuzu sorbet. It was nice. The birthday boy was presented with special dessert. Chocolate cake, yuzu sorbet and candles. Sorry - as usual I started eating before taking pics. Hungry and food so good. Over $200 per head. Great steak but overpriced. A great night with the boys. I would come back.

Excellent steak restaurant. I had the set menu which includes four courses. They have a dedicated gluten free menu and were able to provide gluten free steak sauce which is difficult to find. Highly recommend the scallops and Matsusaka steak! Be sure to make a reservation in advance. I will definitely go back.

A long overdue review... We came by the place last season without making prior reservations. Lucked out, as the store was surprisingly empty! Let's talk service: maybe it was because we were the only customers dining in, but we received immaculate attention. Japanese hospitality at its finest. The owner was a great conversationalist too, and we immensely enjoyed our interactions with the staff. Food wise, everything was ridiculously spectacular. The steaks were way, way beyond our expectations. We'd previously tried some other Michelin-starred steaks (looking at you, Gordon) but those didn't even come close. Rosso Rosso set a whole new standard! My palate was blown out of its wits. God, I miss the fresh wasabi they served us. We unanimously agreed that the food there was some of the best we'd ever tasted. Almost 11 months since our meal there and I'm still stuck thinking about that restaurant. Maybe it's the fact that I'm down with gastroenteritis, but I just can't help drool over my fond memories of the food they served there. Splurge a bit on the better cuts they serve... you won't regret it. Absolutely ridiculously gobsmacking food. Wonderful, wonderful experience. I'd definitely visit the place again should I be in the vicinity.

considering the price around Niseko, I would say this is still considered value for money. beef was nicely done and scallop was amazing. recommended to book early

Great food with reasonable prices, unlike many places in Niseko. Bacon wrapped scallops and steak fillet were really good. I recommend ordering local beef, don't need to do kobe. Dessert is also pretty good. Both cheesecake and brownies Service is ok - staffs are polite and helpful. I would go back here again

Conflicted about this place. The staff were excellent, and tried their best to accommodate us by bringing forward our reservation so we didn't miss our shuttle back. That being said it's always odd when a high end place serves steaks on hotplates, and overall the chef's choice like pairing scallops with a red wine sauce felt odd. Unfortunately won't recommend

Poor quality steaks. Ordered the Australian sirloin steak and the tokachi Hokkaido steak both to be done medium rare marinated with salt and pepper only. Both came poorly marinated and uncooked in the middle. First meal in Japan I couldn’t finish. Needs to improve. I would suggest ordering smaller cuts and portions at this restaurant. Really disappointing when steak is done poorly.

Delightful soba shop and we went twice during our trip in Niseko. You feel the passion from every staff - from servers, chef and cashier. Every thing we ordered were so delicious. 🤤 Great clean soba soup flavor, really light tempura and the duck soup was delishhhh!! The food came out fast and we look forward to going back when we visit again.

Nice place to come for a bowl of soba. Sides like fried mushrooms, fried lily bulb, fried oysters, fried mochi etc are also available. Gets very busy and recommended to get there at 11am when the restaurant opens. Otherwise be prepared to wait. The buckwheat tea they serve tastes good and is also available for sale.

Amazing duck soba! The duck is really good, soft and juicy. The soba is one of the best I have tried, tender and matches the soup very well. BTW, don't miss the corn here; it's fresh and sweet!

One of my favourite meals this trip. Similar to most reviews here, the cold noodles have a nice bounce to them. In addition, I ordered the fried oysters and tamago, which was the perfect amount of food for me. Highly recommend the fried oysters. Dipping it into the matcha salt and the sauce that came with the soba set hit the spot when they were piping hot. They were juicy, plump, hot and delicious. Side note: the yam tempura was also great. You get one in the tempura set - it’s sweet and rich. Would get a side of it if I wasn’t full. Cash only.

So, this is what Michelin-starred soba tastes like! I ordered the duck soba set. It was perfect. The noodles were nothing short of perfection. Earthly, nutty, and with just the right chew that spoke volumes about their freshness and hand-crafted quality. Each bite in the broth was a symphony of umami flavors. The broth was layered with rich duck essence, perfectly balanced soy, and a subtle sweetness from the green onions that rounded out every mouthful. The tender slices of duck breast served on the side were perfectly pink in the center, with a delicate smokiness and a richness that melted on the tongue without being heavy. The refreshing crunch of the negi (green onions) and the tang of the pickles complemented each element, creating an unforgettable meal. This was an artful expression of flavor, texture, and balance. I was very lucky that there wasn’t a queue when I visited. Definitely for any food enthusiast staying in Niseko!

Had the duck soba (hot) for lunch. Very delicious, the broth was rich, duck meat tender, and home-made soba noodles had great texture. Beautiful view over the forest if you sit outside. Have plenty of parking space outside. There’s no need to write down your name, simply queue along the bench from the entrance.

Bit of waiting during meal times and cash only place. Apart from that, the place was fantastic, great ambience, we sat on the tatami seats near the large windows overlooking the snowy landscape Mixed up the food with both hot and cold soba tempura sets. Added a chicken tempura as well and had the soup soba and vegetables soba. Everything was super fresh.and absolutely delicious. They have English menus as well. Will be back.

I really dislike leaving bad reviews but this experience left a bitter taste on my mouth. My 9 year old son and I were excited by our first teppanyaki experience. I suppose our experience was more of a chef and customer interaction. Instead we just watched an elderly gentleman prepare a meal for us. He asked if we had any allergies which we didn't so we stuck to the courses specified. Neither my son nor I like abalone but we stuck to the menu not wanting to offend. Then our Japanese neighbours received lobster off menu instead! Absolutely understand there's limited space but not having a kids menu/option was quite frustrating. For a meal that cost me $750 AUD including booze. This was WELL above the 1,000 yen we I assumed and sets this restaurant with significantly higher expectations. Clearly we did not receive the value we expected for such an investment. Oh and only after sitting for an hour we were booted to a table and chairs to eat dessert.

Food is alright, can’t believe we are the only table in the restaurant so one waiter served us. As we don’t eat beef, chef is very caring to change the fried rice to crab meat.

A delicious meal in a fabulous location! We were attended to by Bonza who was really welcoming and brought everything with a smile. Our chef today was Mikami who has over 40 years experience, his skill set behind the teppan was obvious as he skillfully prepared our meal. The wagyu was melt in the mouth tender and seasoned to perfection. Our children were included and enjoyed their meals which included a starter salad, Hokkaido beef, vegetables, rice and miso soup. The included multiple courses were more than enough to fill us up and were finished off with a delicious hot coffee and passionfruit chocolate mousse. 10/10 and 5 stars, we will definitely return again.

AMAZING TEPPANYAKI I took my husband for his birthday as a surprise and we were treated like royalty. The service was attentive, professional yet friendly and we were accommodated with everything we asked for. We had the expensive set menu of 6 courses and it was worth every cent. Try the garlic rice, it’s so full of flavour. The wagyu beef was cooked to perfection. The view beyond the hot plate was magic with the snow. For dessert, staff created a beautiful message and all staff came out and sang happy birthday. It was a special occasion for us and the amazing staff and chef did not let us down. Thank you!!!

Pre-ordered dishes not communicated correctly with the chefs and team. Our valuable winter coats were dumped on a table, they did not have proper coat racks to use. Waiter kept rushing to take away the plates & utensils when we were not done eating. Beef was cooked to medium while we ordered medium rare. Sake glass was taken away before the sake was served finished. Dessert was served with melted ice cream. Final bill was keyed wrongly. Way under expectation. Please try teppanyaki in Osaka instead of Hilton Niseko. Service fail. Food fail. All fail. No. Don’t try. Don’t reserve in advance. Don’t eat this.

Beware:Stupidly overpriced. 22% surcharge on meals upon getting the bill. For the price of 75,000yen for two persons, I could be eating at a 3 star Michelin restaurant. The food? Not worth the price. Also, they don’t give points on Hilton honors dining even though the Hilton website says so. PS always read the fine print.

Ordered the crab and tuna several days in advance. Fantastic and fresh seafood and a great way to taste the Hokkaido crab. Portions are generous and would highly recommend for an easy fresh dinner to eat at your hotel or Airbnb

Seafood takeout…….their cooked seafood was better than the raw ones, abalone was a bit hard to eat, sushi rice was a bit too sour for our taste, the rest of the sashimi platter is great. The kinki fish and crab legs were excellent……

Excellent take out sushi in Hirafu. They have options for walk ins but if you want a specific order then sort it one day in advance. All of our food was top notch, going back tomorrow.

V fresh seafood for takeaway - great variety. My highlights were the scallops, crab and uni. We ordered online a day in advance which in hindsight was a good choice as some items sold out during the evening. Owner and his team are super friendly and knowledgeable. Price is on the higher end but imo it is worth it.

One of the best restaurants in Hirafu. The scallop sashimi was super fresh. Must try the cod liver if you are feeling adventurous. Snow crab was refreshingly delicious. Reserve a table in advance. Walk-in is nearly impossible. Or you can order takeaway.

We were lucky, managed to get seats while walking. Saw many guest sent away without reservations. Food is delicious and fabulous, minimal seasoning, just let the ingredients freshness speak to you. The fried calamari really WOW us. Possibly the combination of Japanese battered, freshness, and minimal seasoning, just the best. Worth going back for another time, will definitely make reservations.

Take out only sushi place. Staff was very friendly and the room for customers to wait is very cozy. I got a single server sushi set which cost 4000 yen. 9 pieces of sushi, 4 pc roll, ginger, cucumbers, mushrooms, and three pieces of egg roll. The place only takes credit card, no cash. I waited about 10 minutes for my food. Took me a 10 minute walk both ways from my resort. Hiked uphill to get back and it was so worth it. The presentation of the food is top notch. I usually don’t like fancy packaging, as I’d rather have my money go into the quality of the food, but this was necessary, and contributed to the supreme takeout experience. The fish was extremely fresh and very tasty. Wasabi was placed between the raw seafood and the rice, as it is traditionally. Highly recommend, very authentic, quality sushi, for a reasonable price. None of that westernized garbage in the other fancy resorts around that cater to tourists. This place is the real deal.

Really fresh sashimi love it!! Especially the yummy scallops! My fav! The beef n pork for hotpot is divine!! Cook them maybe slightly more than stated on e little cards😉. We had both special chicken and fish milk soups. Both great choice! Price point isn't the cheapest but it worth it! Enjoy!

The hot pot is way overpriced but it tasted amazing!! I’d go with the hairy crab and sashimi, if I ever get a chance to dine here again. They are, hands down, the best I’ve ever had in my lifetime.

One of the best meals I had in niseko. This hot pot serves quality beef and their fish maw soup base is fantastic. Their refill is of same broth instead like most hot pot refill is of ordinary soup. This makes the ¥6200 price of soup base inexpensive. The boss could have prepared more salmon skin and beancurd too cos they ran out of it when we wanted to order. This place is highly recommended and price wise is high too. Will be back.

I have to visit Ryunabe Niseko everytime when I'm in Niseko, the best hotpot in Hirafu. The soup base has no MSG which taste superb especially after a long ski day, the beef is always fantastic, to start with ALWAYS order the sashimi platter! All the waitstaff are super nice, and a super nice boss Alex?! who worked there every season, giving us good recommendation on sake and things! Cannot recommend it highly enough!

After whole day ski, the soup will make you so happy. Selection of beef are superb, really. Set of sashimi is wonderful.

Great experience in niseko, enjoyed the hk style hotpot soup with premium beef cuts along with sashimi. Pricing are at slightly high side however it’s definitely worth trying ! They have an outlet in Bangkok as well. But do take note that they only operate in Winter in Niseko. The total damage for two person was about ¥25,000. Not to forget the soup served was extremely full of flavor as it is boiled for 36 hours with fish maw and chicken soup.

Melt Bar and Grill offered three different ways to dine with them, buffet, a-la-carte, or tastings. Our diner party all chose these buffet as the price markup were too significant considering the options. We all chose the buffet to get a taste of everything. It was a great choice as we found many excellent offering. The grilled squid was excellent. The chicken wings were great. The roasted octopus had great flavor but was a little over cooked or cooked tough. The curry fish was a nice mix of sea food however the curry lacked a great curry flavor. We tried some of the local Saki which was a nice pairing. We finished the night with some great Japanese whiskey. Service was very friendly.

We had breakfast at MELT Bar and Grill as hotel guests, and it was one of the best starts to our day. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out—the staff warmly greeted us and led us to our table with genuine hospitality. It made us feel welcome right away. The breakfast spread was impressive, with a wide selection that catered to both local and international tastes. Everything we tried was delicious—from fresh pastries to hot mains and made-to-order eggs. The quality and variety definitely exceeded the usual hotel breakfast standards. What made it even better was the stunning view. Dining in the morning light with such a picturesque backdrop made the entire experience feel extra special and relaxing. All in all, MELT delivered on all fronts—great food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting. A memorable breakfast spot we’d be happy to return to.

Very nice moments each time we went to the Melt. We took Japanese food each time. And it was excellent ! Original and really well cooked. One of our best experience in Japan. The staff was really welcoming. We would like to warmly thank Ayumi for her kindness and her professionalism. It was a pleasure to talk with her. She gave us some really good advice concerning our diner and about our trip in Hokkaido. We also would like to thank Jayson for how welcoming and efficient he was. His kindness was just like the one of the staff of the this very good restaurant !

We had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant. During summer season some other restaurants in the hotel are closed, but you can have some signature dishes of them in the Melt. So we decided for two Japanese sets, Yakiniku und Shabu Shabu. We really loved it. The quality of each course was high. The service team was highly professional and very polite. どうもありがとう!

Good dining option for dinner. I was so tired after being on the snow all day that I was going to call it the night. Glad I listened to my husband as everything was delicious!! We selected seafood with buffet. There’s also the all you can drink option if you’re interested. Service was excellent! Eka even offered us tea, which paired with the desserts nicely.

Very mediocre experience. We had a rough start because we did not get checked into our reservation for 10 minutes and then our table was delayed by 10 minutes. It seemed like this was just a slower paced restaurant, because the food took a long time to arrive. Ultimately, we got there at 8:10 and didn’t leave until 10:30. The food was really good though. Fondue was the standout. Drink options were limited though — the bartender couldn’t make a martini. Would recommend to some, but be sure you know what you’re getting into!

Amazing food. Really nice cheese fondue (highly recommend the one with cèpe mushroom). Dessert also very good with vegan option. Nice and warm atmosphere in the restaurant. Lovely staff, specially Morgan, who was excellent in is service. Good wine list, the Pouilly fumé was very good as a starter. Overall nice experience, we were 6 people and all happy! We will come back next year!!

Such an awesome meal. We got the fondue for our last night in Niseko and it was the most perfect way to end our trip. Big thank you to Fany who was exceptional! We would love to come back some day!

Very chill place to relax & have some drinks & light meal. Interior decoration was very European with interesting displays of antique ski gear. We ordered the La Raclette which was essentially a cheese, bacon & potato crepe, not sweet but savory & it was very yummy. My cappuccino was good, strong enough & flavorful. Good services too.

Our server asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, which are both paid options as we found out later. Our server did not mention the option for free tap water so there is a slight feeling of being tricked. Also note that tax is added after the bill is calculated; compare receipt and the menu prices in the pictures attached. Other than the above complaints, our food was very good. In the pictures below, the rectangle item is La Burger, the square item is La Raclette, and the six sided item is La Vegan. Yes, they do have a vegan menu item! They also have a coat check, which is a nice convenience.

Only had the fondue, no raclette. The cheese was very good, but it's traditional so only came with bread. The crepe was also good, but I would probably go something more simple. Service was reasonable as was the wine list.

Good atmosphere, nice dishes. I had a cheese fondu course and it was ok. Staffs are friendly but lack professionalism. You have to ask the same thing twice to get them right and for them to remember too. Nice place for one time. No second time for me unless the service is improved much much more.

We went there with a larger group for dinner. The service was great, the food was amazing, the ambiance was fantastic. The added bonus were the musicians who played both covers and Japanese music and songs. I subtracted one star for lack of water. You had to pay to get any water, which is just a scheme to make you pay unnecessarily for something that’s readily available and safe to drink from the tap. As a customer we should have a choice.

La Villa Lupicia is a top-notch Western restaurant in the Niseko area with an incredible atmosphere. The staff always maintain a professional demeanor, which adds to the experience. I highly recommend trying their flavored teas—they are exceptional and will make you want to visit their tea shop (unfortunately, I missed its opening hours). Their signature "White Lover" beer is also unforgettable and well worth a try. We had the set menu that evening, and every dish was absolutely delicious, making me eager to return and try their à la carte options. The music was another highlight—relaxing cello melodies paired with soft, lazy vocals created the perfect symphony for a winter evening. A truly memorable dining experience!

Best place near Hirafu base if you will wanna be to have a really nice dinner. Location is a little out if you don’t drive but managed to get the hotel to make reservations and they sent transport to pick us and back. Food was fabulous. The beef in red wine was flavorful and moist. So is the lamb chops, a little gamey but not overpowering. The pork confit was super moist. Desserts were irresistible. The ice cream selection was interesting so we ordered one after another. Must try the pale ale. They have interesting flavors. Nice! Overall dining experience was excellent as there was even live music towards the later part of the night. Will visit again if I’m back at Niseko. Do make reservations as they can be full during peak seasons.

Mostly Italian style dishes made with local ingredients. Everything was great as usual. Reservations are a must. There is a free shuttle if you are planning on drinking.

Had christmas dinner here, was compulsory for each person to get the christmas set menu at 10000 yen per person. Food was decent but not lifechanging. Staff were helpful but language was still a barrier. Ambience was good because of the hired musicians that added some festive cheer.

The soup curry was really good!! Best I have tried!! I got the coconut one at level 1. Felt maybe I could have ordered level 3. It's not spicy at all. Good for big groups but need to reserve in advance.

We arrived just after 5:30 and were waiting when they opened at 6pm. Second table seated and the service was super fast. If you’re going to queue for a meal in niseko, this is that meal. Tried Hirihiri Soup Curry near Sapporo Stn before coming here. Preferred that to this. But anyone in Niseko should definitely try this. Go for the original - level 4 if you can take spicy food. Veg or chicken are better than pork.

Given the high Google reviews and long queues outside to get a table, I was expecting something good. However I was a bit disappointed. The soup curry wasn’t worth the wait and was forgettable. Other dishes were fine, but nothing special. Prices are also quite high and not worth it but expected given it’s in a ski resort area. Staff were very attentive and helpful though!

Absolutely worth the reservation. Plan ahead, and respect the small atmosphere and staff. Best to order fried items early on in the 2 hour window, and don’t wait til the last 30 minutes to order more food. Yakitori, oysters, and takoyaki were our favorites.

This is a very small cozy restaurant, so to avoid disappointment make a booking, we were very luck that the first time we went the could fit us at the bar. We ordered a few dishes to share, it was all really good and we got to speak to the staff as they were getting drinks. I have read some people saying about the wait for food, we were there probably about 1.5 hours for a meal, for us it was good as we had a small break between dishes, rather then everything coming at once or one after the other. I would highly recommend this for good Japanese food, and definitely try the Ramen.

Incredible, fresh, and delicious food. It’s super cosy, we managed to land here on a walk-in but it gets busy pretty quick. Great grilled skewers, grilled squid, vast selection of fruit infused sake. On top of that service was top notch. Not to mention good prices...

Amazing Izakaya, great Japanese vibes with an approachable menu. The grilled scallop is an experience, and the full sashimi tasting is delicious. I don’t think there is an item on the menu you can go wrong with… The sour yuzu wine made for the best dessert!

edit: on second visit, service was significantly worse, forgot the food order of 3 people for over an hour, then got it wrong, and forgot another half of the order. waitress was confused all the way through. tasty food, good prices for niseko, quick service. kirin on tap, heartland and guiness bottled. would definitely return!

One of the best meals we have had in niseko and the great thing with Santo is that the chef prepares his dishes with ingredients that are only in season so his menu is always changing the staff are extremely friendly to children and went as a family of 7 and ordered 6 appetisers but the best in our opinion was the corn soup with white truffle as the corn was in season and was topped of with white truffle and the scallop gratin which was very cheesy and creamy. For mains we decided to share the Spanish lamb rack and the wagyu beef which were both cooked perfectly and for the final course we got pasta and we thought the Sakura shrimp pasta was the best but however it is a bit slow as there is only one chef cooking everything. It was an amazing dining Experience and was one of the best value for money restaurants we have been to.

The staffs were really friendly. The food was really good especially the soup and the meat plate. We really had a great time there and would like to dine there again. We were there when it was quite busy so we waited for a long time for our food. We were there with our baby and got the table at the corner which was really nice for our baby to sit on the carpeted seating area.

1st meal: One of the most amazing carbonaras I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. Was quite rich, but after a day of skiing, it was just perfect. I’ve been fortunate enough to eat at some of the best Italian restaurants in the world, and this was just to die for. House wine clearly had been open for a while; wasn’t great. Service was exceptional. 2nd meal: after the first meal, the chef told me that he could cook anything on request. One of my favourite Italian dishes is a veal saltimbocca. Whilst he didn’t have veal, he substituted veal with pork. I’m not prone to exaggeration but this dish was just WOW! The pork was sooo tender, and cooked to perfection. The middle was still moist, wasn’t over-salted, and the accompanying side of freshly baked focaccia bread was heaven - soft, sprinkled with herbs - served with olive oil. Dessert was a serving of homemade hazelnut semifreddo. Just brilliant. Ordered a bottle of 2013 Sass’al Sole to accompany the pork saltimbocca.

I enjoyed a meal with a group of 11 here, and every single person was extremely pleased with the experience. The food was excellent and generously portioned. We had a 7 course meal of the chef's design, and we all would have had it again if we had any room left! We did not speak any Japanese, but the manager and staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They assisted us in english and were very tolerant of us being a loud group. I will be returning for another meal if/when I can!

Awesome place for dinner if you are in Niseko. Food was tasty and portion was perfect. If you are with children, the kids meal will be a feast for them. Friendly service staff, could be a little more attentive but forgivable as it was a busy night. They even had a live DJ who really set the atmosphere for the restaurant. Music was great and not too loud so you and your family/ friends could chill and hold a conversation. It's was the place to be after a long day of snow boarding.

I recently ordered delivery from this restaurant, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The prices listed online (including Google Maps/website) did not match the actual bill. When the order arrived, the total was higher than expected, and only then did I notice the difference. On top of that, the pizza quality was not good, far below expectations, especially considering the price charged. What’s even more disappointing is that local people told me that in the low season (as it is now), prices are usually decreased compared to the normal ones, while here we experienced the opposite: an increase compared to the listed prices. Transparency on pricing and consistency in food quality are both very important. It feels misleading to advertise one price online and then charge another upon delivery, especially when the quality does not justify it. I hope the management updates their online menus, aligns the pricing fairly, and works on improving the food standards for customers ordering delivery.

We had a the new years course when we arrived and was greeted with excellent service and food! This hidden gem of a restaurant also has music / dj to give very relaxing vibes in this ski town. Will definitely come back again!!!

I love this restaurant. We came from Dubai, and we are staying at Setsu Niseko for 3 weeks, so we really had time to try other places, but Meli Melo is by far the best of all. I enjoyed quattro formaggi pizza, cacio e pepe pasta, wagyu and lobster. Awesome work and service! Shout out to the main manager Kuni, the head chef Mr. Ken and the team!

We probably tried everything on the menu because my foodie daughter insisted on coming here every night. We’re always greeted by the warmest and attentive staffs. Thank you for taking such good care of our bellies daily while she dances to the music after meals. Hope to be back again!

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had (the vegan tofu sandwich is my favorite). The lattes are also great! The sourdough loaves are the cheapest around and worth taking home.

I came here with the English camp organised by my university. I had a great time at the Green Farm Café. I tried the parmesan potatoes: Rösti and eggs, an açaí bowl and a smoothie. The food was fabulous and the staff were really friendly. Even the chef came to greet us!

I love the food and the atmosphere here. It is much calmer in the summer season than winter so I can take my time to relax and enjoy the food. The portion size is great and the staff is very friendly.

Amazing, fresh food! (Wagyu gnocchi!!!) A lovely lingering smell of coffee as the beans are roasted in house. Grab a delicious takeaway sandwich or a choice to sit inside or outside on a bluebird day with a cooked meal. Really friendly staff and a comfortable spot for brekkie or lunch! Very popular so make sure to get there a tad early.

Fantastic food in a great atmosphere. I came here in a group trip with my college club mates. Ordered a Vegan Burger and a Mix Berry Smoothie. I've never eaten a vegan patty so I was surprised how filling it was. The burger was juicy, and the fries were perfectly crispy. Great deal of vegetarian and vegan options for people who need it.

Used to be a favorite, but my recent visit was disappointing. Latte had rough foam and no espresso taste. just hot milk. My favorite avocado toast was too lemony, sour, and soggy. The quality really wasn’t what I remembered. I WILL NEVER COME BACK.

Visited 16 Sep 2025 (Tues) @ 8am for Breakfast. GreenFarm Cafe is probably the only roadside cafe that operate from 8am in Niseko. The place is huge with 2 separate dining halls, dedicated coffee roasting station and huge menu selections. We ordered French Savoury (can feed 2 to 3 pax), Avocado Toast, hot chocolate and double shot cappuccino. The food presentation is like Art and the taste is simply amazing. I probably dine here for everyday's breakfast. No regret and will always eat/visit again. The coffee....is simply amazing without any acidity overdose. Paid about Y5000

We ate here three times during our stay in Hirafu and loved each and every meal (we tried a breakfast, a lunch and a dinner)! The staff were very friendly and since you pick up your food right at the grill, it was nice to thank the chefs for their beautiful and delicious creations! The restaurant is spacious and so felt safe (during covid). Highly recommended.

My partner and I stayed in the hotel for 7D/6N and had the opportunity to try their daily breakfast. So we decided to make reservations for their premium tasting menu on our last night for dinner. It was a fantastic dining experience all the way around. The decor/ambiance, the service, and especially the food were all top tier, especially the Waygu. It was one of the best foods we had during our stay in Neisko.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience and birthday ambiance at An Dining. The chef's meticulously crafted dessert platter was truly remarkable, with the ice cream-like cheese being absolutely exquisite. The main course braised Wagyu beef was equally impressive. The flavor of Hokkaido Danshaku Potato Gnocchi with Mushroom Salsa Bianca was also unforgettable. Of course, the service quality was equally impeccable. Definitely, we will definitely revisit the stage of culinary artistry.

We chose the Premium Set menu. Delightful and not the most expensive meal we had in Niseko. But certainly not cheap at around 17,000 yen pp. Scallops, wagu beef, and oysters were a real highlight. The Western Australia Cabernet (forgot the name) was also great about 8 years on and 8,000 yen. Great dinner with friends.

Food was great. One of our best meals in niseko. Small tapas size plates were great for sharing so we could try many different dishes. Scallops and Wagyu cheeks were some of our favs! Highly recommend.

The wonderful local produce was beautifully prepared and every course of the An’ Tasting Menu was excellent, very tasty and very well presented. All staff members were gracious, friendly and welcoming, and each one added value to our evening. We look forward to dining at An’ again when next we return to Niseko and we gladly recommend it to those looking for a fine dining experience in Hirafu.

Greasy greasy greasy 😣 The sirloin beef was wayyyy too greasy to eat, I felt there was oil bomb exploded in my mouth and immediately my stomach felt weird. The cauliflower somehow was also full of heavy oil taste and lack of flavors. The fried fish and shiitake mushrooms are way too salty. The apple sake was way off balanced and very very sweet. Overall quite disappointing and way below the average for restaurants in Japan.

This place had the best mutton I have had in terms of quality it felt locally sourced and was not to gamey and was super sweet and flavourful with the sauce on top apart from the mutton the beef quality was excellent and we got recommended by local friends must book in advance as super busy and hard to get seats multiple people got kicked out.

Lamb or beef rib is excellent 👍 the venison has a very unique taste, but make sure you order right away when you arrive and let it thaw so you can cook medium rare.

They double booked our table we had to wait 15 mins before we can be seated, 5 of us had to squeezed into a table for 4… Lamb is amazing on the charcoal grill very tender and dipping sauce compliments it very well. Venison is ok very lean meat my first time trying it on grill but the beef served was still very cold and hard inside not properly deforested. I guess u can’t expect much from Niseko restaurants, anywhere doesn’t rip u off and serves decent food is already a good find!

Fun little Genghis Khan restaurant in Niseko. Don’t go if you don’t eat lamb since barbecue lamb is their specialty. The local venison is also very good and tender. Remember to order the baked German potatoes (not the Loft Club Style Fried Potatoes), which is off menu! Make sure that you make a reservation!

The lamb is delicious, have to try it even if you don’t usually eat, only place my partner is willing to have it. Charcoal grill improves the flavors. Must reserve, as always busy.

Fun spot to grill meats. Relaxed vibe you pre order your portions when you make your booking. We were able to finish 3 portions of the lamb between two people but it was a lot of food. Probably could have done 2 portions next time. Wait staff was friendly to foreigners and helped me call my pre arranged taxi when we finished our meal early. Short cab ride away from the grand HIRAFU area.

If you are a meat-lover and staying near Annupuri or Niseko village, definitely consider this spot for dinner. We did 2 orders of lamb and 2 orders of venison, rice, corn soup, and ginger ale. And ice cream sundaes. The meat is grilled over a disposable metal grate over roaring charcoal coals. The exhaust pipe can be extended to about 6 inches above the grate, but still expect your clothes to be smoky. The lamb (looked like ribeye?) was so tender and had zero gamey taste. But the venison stole the show, it was incredibly tender and flavorful, highly recommend. The lamb orders came with a vegetable medley (cabbage, onion, potato, pumpkin, bell pepper). Spread the veggies throughout the meal and cook on the outer rim of the grill so they don't just get scorched. The restaurant had mostly Japanese customers, but there was one waitress who understood basic English. We had our hotel concierge make a reservation for us and arranged for can drop-off and pick-up. Our meal took about 1.5 hours.

After our snow fun, dinner called for at Yukitei. First time to such a meal, of course we were impressed. Individually served and adorably presented pot of steaming broth with seafood and precisely sliced Japanese vegetables, accompanied with rice, bento box side dishes and hot Japanese tea. Of course, supposedly this is the meal during winter weather, we didn't really mind, we enjoyed it.

Excellent yakitori...japanese bbq. Grilled waygu, mackerel, rice covered in bacon, pork belly and chicken were all simple and delish with just salt. Make reservations from 6-8pm.

Pretty tasty however the udon is crazyyy good and feel healthy!

Came for lunch after morning in slopes. Nice quiet place that makes the place feel a bit pricey but we were quite pleasantly surprised. Had ramen and mixed seafood rice. Reasonably good and pocket friendly though portion can be a tad bigger or add on a little side dish or something. Dun mind paying a little more for that.

Delicious food. Poor service that doesn't know anything about the food. Prices higher than the value. Good for group reservations, but bad for value. Your mileage may vary from my experience. Basicaery a continuation of bad British service. But in Japan.

Service is good. But 0 value for money, having experience many shabus, the soup base is absolutely bland. There are various light soup base styles for shabus, but this is really really blend. Decent place to eat, but at the price there are way better choices. If you are rejected from Ezo opposite pls choose a better alternative.

For dinner, it is FAR EXPENSIVE than the food quality and quantity ，not that value. And the staff just stand at the bar watch phone or wipe the glass. No sense to refill water for customer, even it is just a few customer at night. So disappointed eating this in hirafu after ski.

Best vegie ramen I have ever had. Had the spicy one, miso base, with bean sprouts - so good! But be warned, spice levels goes up as the bowl goes on. The no spicey veg ramen soy base was good too, but personally I prefer the miso base. Large beers spot on, and good price. Place was packed when we arrived - 6:45pm. Told it was full, so we asked to wait, Which was fine, waited at front door and had a beer standing, didn’t bother us! Host was great. Clearly the place is busy, and they have to turn people away all the time so I’d suggest right when the open, or more around 7:30pm when it cleared out a bit. I’d go back in a heart beat.

The ramen is simple, considering Niseko’s prices, it’s not too expensive. Perfect for a quick meal to warm you up after a day on the slopes. That being said, the male staff member who served us made both me and my partner feel unwelcome. There was nothing outright rude, but we could sense a subtle resistance or cold attitude toward us. It was the only negative experience we had in Niseko, which was disappointing. Would still recommend the food, but the service left a bad impression.

Great spot, particularly enjoyed the dandan noodles. We were there 10 minutes before opening and there was a line, but we got in easily enough. Wouldn’t want to come later.

Overpriced watery ramen, it may come in generous portion having finished half was already my limit! Only decent dish is the fried chicken. Packed tourists not even 1 local customer in sight. Worst meal of my Niseko trips.

Possibly the best first bite of a meal I’ve ever had, could not recommend the wagyu Ramen more or the Vegetable Spicey Ramen with wagyu added. Amazing service and good atmosphere to top it off. Recommend getting there at open or a little before to avoid waiting in line

While there are so many tourist traps in Niseko this place is legit. It is not a fancy place but this is the place to go if you want a real homemade Japanese countryside Izakaya food. Service was impeccable and we absolutely loved the ambiance / atmosphere.

A very local and unique experience. We had to specifically make our way to Hirafu for the meal but it was worth it. The restaurant is very close to the Hirafu Intersection. It opened at 6. Before that, we had to wait outside in the snow. But it was worth the wait. There was this normal seating area and this tatami area. For a more local experience, go for the tatami area, which we had. Though it meant we had to kneel to eat, we were eager to try the local way. Our table was right next to a cast iron wood-burning fireplace / burner. Which made the atmosphere more ambient. We ordered the sashimi bowl, oysters, dumplings and the wagyu beef shabu shabu. The sashimi and oysters were fresh and delicious. The beef was really tender. Just that the food was on the pricier side. The overall experience was really delightful.

First night at Niseko, guess food here in the village is quite small portion for the price. In and out meal for us, as portion is tapas size. :) went to convenience store to eat more after.

Kougetsu is a family-run Izakaya located in the heart of Hirafu. As soon as we went into the restaurant, we immediately fell in love with the intimate atmosphere and were greeted with warm smiles. We ordered a tofu hotpot, two appetizers (burdock roots and edamame) and karage for my omnivorous partner. The appetizers were small but the flavors were great. We both loved the burdock root a lot. You can also order 4 appetizers for 1000 yen as well, which is a steal! The tofu hotpot was also amazing. The soup looked simple but the flavors were definitely not. The sweetness of the vegetables and rich flavors of the soy tofu blended really well together. It was the perfect dish to get to wrap up the day. If you ever feel like going to a local bar for some drinks and food, I highly recommend you give Kougetsu a try! I know we’ll definitely be coming back here again! Kougetsu was excellent. We sat on the floor but they do have tables. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed every meal, plus value for money it was brilliant. It’s so popular that we couldn’t get a booking again within the week we were there. Book way ahead of time.

The staff was absolutely lost, saw our dishes going back and forth because they didn’t know which table ordered. I received my set menu when half of our guests were done with their dishes. Raw fish and dim sum were not fresh, way too expensive for what it is. Corn soup and miso soup were good but only 3 spoons in the cups, it looks ridiculously empty when you open the bowl.

Food was Devine! You definitely pay for it but worth the cost. Jayson was lovely as our waiter. The restaurant was extremely hot though and we asked for them to turn it down.

Jayson was our server and gave us great service, He was very personable, knowledgeable, and friendly, and help provide a great atmosphere for our Japanese dinner at Niseko. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. We enjoyed our dinner tremendously..

The Yakiniku meats have great quality and are very delicious. Service of the staff (especially Jayson and Raisa) was top tier. One of my greatest food experience in Niseko so far

Service is good with a nice view. Appetizer is good BuT.... Food is not good in general. A traditional Japanese restaurant should embody the Japanese culture, but this restaurant does not exemplify that criticality. #1 rice is mushy (watery) and made the dinner not appeasing (beef yakinuku/grill). The beef cut was marginal at best. #2 grilled Mackerel was alright, but too chewy and would be able to find a better restaurant somewhere else. The price tag this restaurant charges is NOT justified with the quality of food presented. This restaurant is effectively pricing it because of convenience. Hilton should reconsider their restaurant profile for this property.

Looks like the menu has changed within a few weeks of the last reviewer where there were cheaper food items available on the menu. The new menu (Lunar new year menu) only had options for ordering à la carte ¥5000 for each dish (which didn’t seem very fair considering the portions of food you get it really is not worth it & did not fill us up at all). The wagyu meat doesn’t even come with rice & miso soup. Food was nice but portions could be a bit bigger at least & give other options for the menu at different prices. On a plus note the service was very friendly & food came out pretty quickly & it has nice views from the windows.

Amazing lunch spot in Niseko village resort! We absolutely loved the Japanese fine dining experience here, the service was exceptional (our waiters Bonza and Oka who were so nice), the food was delicious (we got the Nabeyaki Udon and Miso ramen) and the views of the mountains were incredible! I highly recommend this place for a date night. The variety of crab was really fun to try, and each dish was super high quality and well-prepared. The flavors had a comforting and homey feel. The service was also excellent. My boyfriend and I were treated warmly. We were the first ones to dine there that evening, and I highly recommend going to an earlier reservation if you're looking for a more quiet atmosphere. Towards the end of our meal, more diners trickled in and the place became more lively (and not as romantic). ** edited post vacation to add more details

An incredible gem in Niseko. This pre fixe course set out to highlight and push the possibilities of crab, and it delivered in spades. From grounded, ingredient-centric dishes like the hairy crab and snow crab shabu shabu, to more innovative/integrated treatments like the crab shell macaroni, Crab Dining Konan will delight you at every turn, and you’ll remember the joy of the first time you had crab as you get lost picking away with a perfectly sized shelling fork.

This is a must visit while in Hirafu although reservations have to be made well in advance during peak season. The hairy crab is meticulously prepared and presented making it much easier to enjoy. The king crab leg was grilled to perfection. The snow crab hotpot really hit the spot on a cold winter day. While the price has gone up over the years, this is one of the few places left in hirafu that offers decent value for the quality of food. Highly recommended!

If you find yourself in Niseko and heard all about the amazing fresh exotic crab varieties then this restaurant will allow you to tick that box before you fly home. Of course, if you live in Japan or have spent time in other cities then you will find the set menu to be quite expensive. What is delivered to your table is exactly what is listed on the menu. They are tasty and fresh but we are not talking about heightened creativity here. To be honest, the small plate of plain rice with a sprinkle of roes and a small frozen ball of ice cream at the end of the meal felt like a token afterthought. It is not bad overall but value is very subjective in this case. Service is ok. Minimal interactions but it is prompt and efficient. The decor is simple and functional. You are there to partake and depart. There are not a lot of reasons to linger.

Amazing food!! The hair crab was cooked and open, so very easy to eat. Wagyu just melted in my mouth. We ordered uni on top of the regular set menu which was really the best uni i have had for at least past 3 years. Highly recommend!

Niseko is amazing place for skiing. Lookout cafe is nice place, well appreciated for a simple drink and or something to eat. Specially in a cold, snowy and windy weather. Yesterday was so, I enjoyed warm welcoming with hot cafe late. Today is sunny day, enjoying the view with glass of ( good ) wine. Staff is nice. Bad thing is meal: ¥2200 for a hot sand ( not really hot) and not good. An great place like here, they should do more effort for better food, and music lower.

I like the pizza, and there is free water. You can take a break and eat something here. Take the Niseko Gondola to the top and then go down by your board, you will see it in front of the Country Road Chair.

Not sure why this is one of the more highly rated eating spots on the mountain, Ramen is ok with sparingly little and small slices of pork for ¥2,000… Would find better food down the mountain if you have an option

We tried 4 restaurants during our stay at Hilton Niseko. Although Lookout Café is away from the hotel building and located on top of the Niseko Gondola, this is by far the best of all the restaurants managed by Hilton! Very welcoming and English speaking staff, amazing seafood ramen, great Udon, authentic chowder, yummy hot chocolate and we even got a small bottle of sake!

Excellent atmosphere and satisfying bites if you can get there during opening hours

Very good place for a quick barbecue. Nice staff, relatively cheap food and drinks, good all you can eat option for ¥2500. During the skiing season you will always find someone interesting to talk with. Place is usually fully packed so reservation is a must for larger groups. Really liked the restaurant. The only thing I can complain about is a mediocre ventilation.

All you can eat and drink barbecue with a small selection to choose from. The food itself is ok but the chicken is a pain to cook and the vegetables serve more as a guard against splattering oil. There is a 60 minute time limit that makes cooking enough meat for more than 2-4 people difficult. Despite my 3 star review, I will continue to eat at this restaurant because it’s a relatively cheap option around the area and is one of the few all you can eat yakiniku places. My friends and I have gone here every time we’ve come to Niseko so it’s nice and familiar

Very cosy restaurant to eat at on a cold and snowy day! Staff are lovely locals and fast to serve, and the food was delicious. My husband and I were looking for a place to eat grilled meat (there’s too much deep fried meat around here), and the other options are absurdly expensive. Soan is a great price compared to other meat restaurants around and we really enjoyed everything we ordered. We will return!

We didn’t order the wagyu but the regular meat already good enough, special lamb is tender and not smelly at all.

AYCE is now ¥3980 for 60 min. All you can drink is an additional ¥1500 for a limited drink menu. IMO with only one grill, you can’t get your money’s worth in one hour. We did a la carte with 90 minutes and still rushed to finish cooking. Our group enjoyed all the meats we tried: special lamb, pork (belly), beef, and chicken.

The place is very good value for money. While the ingredients may not be the best, for Yen2,500 all you can eat, there is no complain. Service is quick. The staff spoke enough English for us to communicate. The only bad point would probably be ventilation, or lack of. So we left smelling like BBQ meat for the rest of the night. Note though the place is cash only.

Although the waiters have really nice attitude, this restaurant has no ventilation AT ALL, the house was full of smoke and it’s hard to breathe inside. The food is decent, the beef is quite rough. Worst thing is I took a long time to wash all my clothes.

Food was really good and they even catered to a halal diet request. Service was excellent from Banzo and food prepared by Yushi was delicious. Communication was great with the sushi chef checking in with us whether wasabi was okay with our food etc. It wasn't crowded when we went but we had a great time there. Pricey but what else can you expect hahaha it's in a hotel. Banzo was great and extremely attentive to our needs and not overbearing. 10/10 service!!! Felt super welcome even though I wasn't a hotel guest

An amazing dining experience! My mom doesn’t eat raw seafood so she couldn’t order the set menu, but the head chef very kindly pointed out the non-raw options on the menu, recommended what we could order for her and made sure my mom still has good sushi experience by giving her the miso soup, dessert (yuzu ice cream), sencha for free that my dad and I had from the set menu! The chef is very friendly and generously shares with us the stories about the seafood. The seafood was of high quality too - it just melted in our mouths! Super attentive service and would highly recommend this restaurant to those staying at Hilton/Niseko Village.

Located on the second floor of the Hilton, this small 22 seat restaurant offers an all you can eat lunch with a 60 min time limit. Upon arrival, a five piece plate of sushi was served and we were free to order there after. The selection was fairly limited. Salmon, tuna, squid, octopus, mackerel, shrimp, scallop, tamago and maybe one or two others. We just kept ordering them as is and grilled. I ended up eating about 40 pieces, and for 3500 yen that's pretty good. The fish wasn't fantastic but overall, this exceeded my expectations.

Offers all you can eat sushi. Orders must be fully consumed before new orders can be made. Sushi is average standard. Nice cozy sitting. Has counter sitting. Worthwhile if you are really hungry or have a good appetite.

Wonderful selection of Hokkaido's best seafood. Carefully prepared by a world-renowned sushi chef. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the customers had a really good time.

While our chef was really friendly, the omakase experience was overall super disappointing. Pre-sliced fish was just taken out of a box in the fridge and put on a piece of rice. Starter was watery and bland - clearly premade and pulled out of the fridge, desert was a scoop of ice cream. We have pretty good sushi in Canada, so paying ~5x more per piece for mediocre quality and an out-of-the-fridge “omakase” experience was a hard pill to swallow. We went to the Lawsons to grab a 10-piece salmon sushi set after our meal - it was much more satisfying…

Great sushi and the staff were so friendly. The menu is seasonal and the chefs are fun to talk to. The uni was soft and salty and the squid with yuzu great!

I had the Little Italy burger and my partner had the Black Burguer with Squid ink, I'm a foodie and was very satisfied with it, the portion and the flavor. I was honestly happily surprised with the Vegetarian burger , it was VERY tasty . I'm not a big fan of fries , it's simple crunchy fries I was happy with it. My partner also loved his hamburger, I tried and is was yummy . The non alcoholic cocktail was good.

Expensive but prob better than the other options at the snow resorts. Never been a fan of fries as they are just crispy oil with a bit of potato inside but if they ever change it to chips I’d give it another star. If the price was more appropriate it would have been more enjoyable to eat.

The burgers were excellent, service was top notch. I found the nachos bland but they quickly apologized and took it off the bill. They even gave us a round of drinks for the nacho let down. Overall pleasant experience.

Waaay overpriced burgers that aren’t even that great. Had the salmon burger and it was a tiny slab of salmon that was half the size of the bun, which was slathered in mayo and horseradish. Fries taste like they were frozen. Tiny tiny cup of odd corn coleslaw? It was fine. But it was like one bite so why? Overall disappointing for a $50 lunch. But it’s a cool atmosphere and nice break from skiing.

BIG NO! $60 AUS burger at the Hilton you think it must be good right? WRONG! What a waste of money. Terrible food, the chicken wings were literally the worst thing I’ve ever eaten, they were cold, there was 4 pieces and it costs over $40AUS . Do not go there if you are a foodie.

The restaurant is pretty relaxing and cozy with well-chosen music playing in the background. I’d say it’s a decent place to get some rest in between ski breaks, but I wouldn’t come here if you are looking to eat. The drink menus include typical pub-style drinks, but the food is quite overpriced for its quality. I ordered the Bolognese pasta, the Little Italy burger, and the Margherita pizza. I wasn’t expecting too much since it’s a pub, but I was quite dissatisfied with the quality of the burger. Honestly, it’s quite worse than the Mcdonald's burger you can get in the US. Overall, I’d say it’s a 3/5. Wouldn’t come again to eat, but maybe to drink.

Excellent miso ramen!!! Large portions with thick slices of meaty pork. The miso broth is exquisite, done just nice. We also had the spicy version. It was a tad oily, but still tasty nonetheless. They also have gyoza. In all, we had a pleasant and memorable dining experience. The menu had English. There is limited parking in front. I’ll be back for more as a return customer. They also sell delicious ice cream! Highly recommended. Thumbs up!

Really loved this place, deserves a much higher rating! It's small but we didn't have to wait. The service was fast and helpful. The ramen is SO yummy and the fried rice was delicious. Soft serve is great too!

A cosy spot with friendly service, the tantan ramen with corn was really delicious. Fun to have soft serve too. The value was exceptional. Really comforting and satisfying after a day busy hiking.

Best ramen we’ve had in Hokkaido so far. we are ramen fans and have tried few of them from airport Chitose all the way to Niseko. The wait is quite long as the restaurant is small. We had the shoyu based soup, as I personally do not like rich thick broth. My 6yo daughter really enjoyed her roast pork rice meal as well. Highly recommend!

Miso butter ramen is to die for in a cold winter’s day. Unlike other eateries in Hokkaido, this place doesn’t mind serving non Japanese speaking customers and they will give you a buzzer whilst you wait for your table, so you can wait inside your own car without becoming frozen in this harsh weather, which is quite thoughtful.

Super good ramen, not expensive at all. Two families with 8 people for lunch costs ¥12000. This restaurant is just off the main road in Kutchan very close to the MaxValu. It took us 15mins to drive here from our rental holiday house “Mountain Butterfly” in Kabayama (Hirafu). There is parking for about 10 cars in front of the restaurant but it gets full quickly at peak times. There is soft serve Hokkaido milk ice cream on the menu. This place is also very kid friendly (we had 4 kids that day), but I don’t think they expect you to sit around and chat.

My workmates and I came here for our last meal before leaving Niseko and we are so glad that we picked this restaurant! The hot noodles and shrimp potstickers were delicious as well as the karaage chicken. Lovely modern restaurant, quick service and even a place to leave your ski helmet if you are coming straight from the hill.

The food in the restaurant is fantastic! The chicken karaage was great and the noodles were perfectly cooked. I came to Japan for the authentic cuisine and & Hokkaido seafood & Wagyu beef has truly delivered. I cannot wait to return!

33000 yen per person course, very small portion dishes. They call every ingredient locally produced but with a simple cooking way and expensive price. shouldn’t it be cheaper? 😅. I always go to Tokyo to find good food. 33000yen In Tokyo, I can have very decent course menu, and those food are transported to Tokyo from different parts of Japan. The only good dish is the beef steak, very tender. But the beef is definitely not high grade wagyu beef, because I cannot the the fat. So the beef should not be expensive, but the chef cooked it right. Oh, they do have crab dishes in the course, very very small portion. I even have no interest to take a photo😂.Overall, definitely not worth it!😑 no, no way!

Overall, the dinner was eatable, but definitely not worth the slippery slope to get there to the restaurant. Except for the potatoes nothing stands out, the portion is kind of small, we were late due to traffics in Hirafu area, so we did call our hotel and asked them to let the restaurant know if it was okay or not, the restaurant said it was okay, but they might need to serve the dishes faster than usual, we didn’t expect that means they leave out half of the dishes in the menu on the table like some kind of Fastfood sharing way……one of us have a shorter menu than the others but instead of serving people with longer menu, this restaurant literally just served the person with the shorter menu first, which doesn’t really make any sense as that person will be having dessert while others are still on their main course……it was kind of ridiculous the way they rushed us, while at the end we actually had to wait quite a well to get the sabu sabu and wagyu steak, desserts for the longer menu…….we did manage to return the table on time so the rush was really unnecessary……the whole experience has been quite unpleasant, so for us we will not be going again……one of us is allergic to bamboo shoots which we notified the restaurant in advance but obviously they just ignored it and served it anyway, why bother to ask if there is any allergies restriction if they plan to ignore it in the first place

We stayed at Intuition Niseko and tried this restaurant on the first night. Have to say that taste and quality are impressive. Super fresh top ingredients and reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again

Quality has gone downhill in the past four years I’ve visited. Missing orders, pouring too many cups of sake, serving food when guests are away from the table. Unacceptable for a restaurant that charges us$150 per person. The food quality also deteriorated. The Wagyu steak I looked forward to was no better than the average izakaya. Very disappointed

An uninspiring, unhappy, and eye wateringly overpriced experience. To start with, on booking, they debit the full cost of the tasting menu. Without telling us. You'd better like this or else. Secondly, that cost. Insane. Tokyo Michellin star prices. You really had better like this. Getting to the venue is risky in itself - down on an icy slope. Upon arrival the recptionist cheerily tells us they have at least one car accident a day outside. Escorted over to the lift, and down we go.... to basement B2. Was this a mistake? This is not the same as the pictures they posted on their website. An underwhelming dining room, without style, design or elegance and..... semi-open plan to the boot/ski room. Yes - really! Bizarre hearing skis clattering and boots unclicking as food is being served. Staff are freindly, attentive and mean well - but they clearly have no fine dining experience or training which just leaves them in an awkward position as things start to go wrong. No cocktails, but did agree to make a G&T when pushed. Food courses start coming out thick and fast before we've hardly started to drink the G&Ts, with second course served immediately after first. We have to ask them to slow down otherwise we'll be finished in 30 minutes. We ordered a very expensive Chateax Margaux Blanc, but the bottle is warm, and, when opened, the metallic smell and taste clearly indicates that it is corked. At this price point I would expect a trained sommelier to intercept before serving, but we enter into an extended conversation, inclding a call with their supplier who suggests the wine would be fine if we just decant it. None of the staff even smell or taste the wine - lack of training, and not acceptable. After much discussion they do agree to take it back. We notice the wine fridges are set at the wrong temperature. Yes, the wine fridges are all untidily dotted around the dining room. We ask them to recommend a saki instead. It is indeed nice, but, later we discover that they had picked a bottle at the same price as the white wine. Saki tends to be cheaper than Bordeaux wine, so this seems quite cheeky to me. Food ingredients are local, and of good quality... but 'simplicity' is taken too far. Bland and unimaginative. Nothing is bad per se, but neither is anything original or memorable. The final outrage is giving feedback to staff. We are not angry or aggresive, but feel we have to make clear how let down we feel, explaining clearly, reasonably and logically the problems above. The chef/proprietor is called over, who makes clear, through translators, that he is not in any mood to accept criticism. We walked out angry and distressed. A deeply unpleasant end to our evening at a restaurant that seems set up to fleece gullible Chinese. You have been warned.

Small cafe with parking out front in Niseko town. Great burgers, coffee, cakes. In particular had a coffee milkshake - which is closer to a big affagato than a milk shake but super tasty!

I’ve been here a few times, and it’s a friendly place in Niseko town. I’ve pre-ordered a dozen doughnuts for my son’s bday celebration, they were so good! I’ve had their coffee, and beef pie. A good place to go. The staff can speak English, and they understand about food allergies so it’s a place I can trust. They also sell some products from Costco, blocks of cheddar cheese, difference sauces,, a bag of rice, and other beverages. So when the winter hits and we don’t want to drive to Costco, maybe it’s an option. I’ll have to check the mark-up next time I visit.

The White birch has great food and a cozy atmosphere. They have burgers which are made fresh and also prepared goods like sandwiches , salad , and desserts. I got the jalapeño chicken sandwich and veg ‘n fruit salad and carrot cake. My dining partners got the burgers and as you can see they are enormous for normal eaters. They also have coffees and tea and also a small but nice assortment of wine and fresh produce. You need to check place out. Delicious!!😋🤤

I don’t say it lightly when I say this is a perfect cafe. The staff are lovely, it’s warm and cosy inside and the food is outstanding. They have a lovely little section of produce and wines for sale as well. The chicken burger was the best I have had for a very long time and it was served with roast potatoes which honestly, is just the best possible surprise you can get. They were seriously good roast potatoes as well. The coffee came steaming hot and the cakes were beautifully made. Squishy, fresh and delicious. Great cafe. Superb.

We had a snack and it was excellent, in fact everything there looked excellent. The owner made me a great Macchiato served in a nice vintage looking cup. You could see there was great attention to detail.

We stopped for lunch at this cozy cafe and were very pleased with the meal. We ordered the hamburger with mozzarella and the cajun chicken sandwich and the corn soup. Everything was delicious and fresh! The shop is fine with kids (we had two young children and another family had an infant) and accepts cash or card for payment.

Nice cozy place and friendly staff. Most incredible chestnut tart I've ever tried, I highly recommend it. Great matcha latte as well. The café also sells some good quality french products (wine, deli, cheese, butter...).

Fantastic food ruined by terrible service. This is our second time and we loved the food and service our first time there. Unfortunately while the food was fantastic, the service has substantially deteriorated. We got to the restaurant before our booking time but each course was so rushed. The servers put down new courses of the tasting menu before we were done with the existing ones and they even tried to take our plate away while we were still eating. When we got to the cheese and dessert courses, they kept encouraging us to have them as takeaway and asked us at least three times if we were too full to have them here. We insisted on having the dessert (warm apple crumble) in the restaurant as it wouldn’t taste good after taking it away. They tried multiple times to clear the dessert while we were still working on it. In the end we finished the tasting menu in an hour and 30 mins, which was the fastest tasting menu I’ve ever had. Truly disappointing service as it felt like a fast food restaurant. I’ve never been so rushed at a meal before

Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan - Amazing food and for the 9 course of food and the quality, the price was justified. The ambiance was nice too, modern and classy, and sitting by the window on a Saturday allowed us to see the fireworks from the slopes which made it an extra special night! I feel like the service could've been a little better though. The servers didn't speak English at a decent level and we had a hard time understanding what they’re trying to say. Since this was more of a western dining experience, I think it would make more sense to have staff that have stronger bilingual skills like the front desk staff of Park Hyatt. I've been to fine French dining places in Thailand and all the staff they hired spoke English and explained the dishes very well. I feel like for a fine dining restaurant, the communication is quite important. Also, there's really no break in between dishes. Not like they rushed us, but it's one dish after another which was very fast-paced compared to the other fine dining experience I've had. Service aside, there's food was delicious! The burdock soup with foam was refreshing and savory, the vegetable gnocchi dish was absolutely delightful, the raw scallops were sweet and slightly crunchy, the truffle au gratin was pure heaven. They also cooked the abalone really well and the squid ink risotto was just delectable. And the Mille feuille dessert. Oh goodness, so thin, flaky, buttery and the cream went really well with it. Overall great food and make sure you book ahead of time!

Very subpar for the price. We chose the terrior course, which was 19,800 per person with 10% service charge. The variety was there but there wasn’t that much surprise or explosion in taste. Servers didn’t really speak English, even though all the other restaurants had staff that spoke fluent English. The whole meal was extremely rushed. Food was mid at most. The servers had multiple times where he dropped or made loud noises. right after we finish each course, there would be loud exclamation to the kitchen to tell them we finished a course. The servers never smiled and it felt very not welcoming.

Exquisite dining experience at Moliere Montagne. We were looking forward to French-Japanese fusion and we were not disappointed. The tasting menu was truly amazing. Beautiful presentation. Excellent flavors (I think I had the best steak of my life here). May be a challenging dish here or there, expected with any tasting menu. Very good wine pairing. Fantastic dining experience.

I loved this place, especially the charcoal-grilled pork. The desserts were fantastic. We visited with a couple of French friends, and they were also impressed with the food, especially the grilled scallops and Mont Blanc. The service was excellent. We had an amazing time here with our large group.

One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Straightforward food that celebrates the taste of the produce without the need for theatrics. First up was a cold soup of sorts which had a nice milky sweetness to it. Not sure if I heard correctly but this was made from milk and potatoes. Next up was the Asparagus with runny egg yolk and parmesan. The sharpness of the fresh cheese was perfectly balanced by the warmth and mild flavour of the runny yolk and sweetness of the asparagus. The hair crab risotto was pretty much one of the best dishes I’ve eaten. The crab was so sweet and tasty. The light creamy sauce was reminiscent of the first dish and the slightly al dente short grained rice made the eating experience an almost perfect one. The palate cleanser of sorts was made from a tea sorbet (tasted like a mild lemon tea) and was paired with a small amount of pear brandy. Really genius combination. Wood smoked hokkaido beef with gratin and turnip was next. Really tasty and the gratin was so sweet and delicious. The potatoes are really different in Hokkaido. Lastly, we had freshly baked madeleines with lemon zest (crispy on the outside but soft and warm on the inside), strawberry terrine with some form of desiccated coconut and cream cheese with haskap berry compote. The cream cheese was so light and the tartness of the compote a perfect accompaniment to it. Would give this meal 10 stars if I could.

Simple, uncomplicated dishes but very well made. Quality produce and balanced flavours for each course. Loved the truffle tart and the apple tart. Great service with a lovely view of the slopes

Pricey but worth it. The food is great, they have a show kitchen where you can see the effort that goes into your food, which is a lot. Reservation is mandatory, they do not take walk-ins. They also don’t take too many reservations per day, we almost had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Service was good, not exactly at the same level as the food though.

One word to describe our experience, Awesome!! They have the best chicken, pork, tiramisu, etc. The best we had ever tried. The meats are so tender that it melts in my mouth. Just writing this short reviews make me drool🤤 Food aside, the service is top notch👍 I will definitely recommend this place

Everything that comes off that grill is sooo delicious. We went for dinner and wish we could have gone for the burgers at lunch… next time! It was quiet with great service. I think they do require a reservation but we were able to make one 1 hour before.

Three Japanese chefs serve fantastic, Michelin-quality western food, in a set dinner menu. Main course is grilled meat, of your choosing. They will send a (free) driver to nearby towns to pick you up and take you home. Special mention is in order for Dylan, the Singaporean, multilingual waiter (and e-mail correspondent), who is exceptional

A solid, well executed meal with flavorful dishes. I especially loved the 3-way shrimp risotto and the scallops course. I just wish we knew about how large of a wagyu portion we were getting before ordering because then one of us would have gotten the venison and the other one get the wagyu. A full wagyu strip steak per person, though awesome, was just a bit too much for us by the end of the meal. Our Singaporean waiter was delightful and fluent in multiple languages. its a bit out of the way, buy our concierge called and the restaurant shuttle van picked us up. it was also offered to have a colleague give us a ride back to the hotel but we had already prearranged a taxi. The restaurant wasn't full but people were getting turned away. Reservations recommended.

Really exquisite fine dining. Had the best sake in Hokkaido as recommended by the sake sommelier. The beef has a lot of marbling and is really good beef. It's a bit too much for me after I've had about half. The soba is fresh and refreshing.

After a long day’s hike, coming to black wood grill is a reward for the soul. Chef-sommelier-GM-and auteur, Atsushi Maruyama, is a rare find and an artist in his own right over the little kingdom that is black wood grill. The food served is beautifully presented, and feeds the soul as well as the body. We had the wagyu four -course plus the wine/sake pairing, and every step was perfectly on point .Chef’s passion for food, and local produce shines through his deft preparation. Black wood grill is not to be missed and we shall remember the warm welcome and culinary experience here for many years to come come

It was my first time doing hot pot. Rui made it very easy and even helped prepare some food his favorite way. Delicious. The ice cream was also a very nice treat!

Kanpai in Hirafu is highly recommended if you’re into shabu-shabu! The soup is flavorful, and the quality of the meat is excellent. Everything was well-prepared and satisfying. Definitely a great spot for a comforting shabu-shabu meal.

5000yen for 90mins all you can eat. Good value for quality food. Everything tasted very fresh, service was also very good. The only all you can eat restaurant in Hirafu area that we could find. Staff spoke English and a bit of Mandarin as well to accommodate the customers. Free shuttle to and from Hirafu Welcome center and a couple other stops.

The ramen is excellent! I ordered the Shio ramen and my husband ordered the spicy ratan ramen. Both were absolutely divine. The yuzu addition makes the broth refreshing and light (in comparison to other ramens which can be quite heavy). Our server was so delightful, he spent time getting to know us and sharing things about the area. We went at 12pm on a Saturday with no line (although autumn is shoulder season).

Great ramen spot for a quick and satisfying meal. The ramen was flavourful and perfect for the cold weather, and the shop had a relaxed, comfortable vibe. The yuzu shio ramen was light yet rich in flavour, and the dumplings were also really good — definitely worth trying. Naoto took great care of us, and his recommendations were spot on. Would happily come back when I’m in the area.

Our family went here in late August. It was early evening so we just walked in got seated right away. I had the shio yuzu ramen and three of us shared the buta gyoza and tori karaage. I also ordered the yuzu limeade drink. Although everything was tasty it was a little too much yuzu for me. I thought I loved yuzu but maybe not that much.

My family had dinner at Afuri recently when we stayed at niseko Setsu and the food was great. We tried the Yuzu Shio ramen, Yuzu Shoyu ramen, Tsukemen, winged gyoza and fried chicken. The ramen was light and the texture of the ramen was so special. The Tsukemen had great flavour and also the unique noodles. The gyoza and fried chicken were also tasty. The staff was all friendly. A great food option for food when in Niseko.

Excellent dinner experience. Honestly the best ramen I've ever had. The noodles were very thin and the broth was hearth warming. Do try the buns and the gyoza, both were excellent also! Have to give a shoutout to the fried chicken: delicious! The service was very friendly. They made sure all our needs were met. We tasted a saké flight and a whisky flight to get acquainted with the tastes of Hokkaido.

The food was absolutely amazing, an unforgettable experience! Even though I'm only here once (since I live in the Netherlands), it was unforgettable. The people were amazing, super friendly and welcoming and everything tasted amazing. If I lived here, I'd be a regular for sure!

Delicious ramen, rice bowl and dumplings! Located just across the Lawson as part of the hotel. Menu in English and our waiter spoke English! Will come back again to try other items.

Sushi Yume offers a wonderful dining environment with exceptional service. The ambiance is intimate and relaxing, making it an ideal place to enjoy sushi in Niseko. The staff were attentive, and the overall service was excellent, making us feel very welcomed. As for the food, while it was enjoyable, I do feel there is room for improvement in terms of flavor and overall taste. It’s worth noting that when I visited, the restaurant had only recently opened, so it’s understandable that some aspects might still be evolving. One of the chefs who served us had previously worked in Hong Kong for a long time and decided to return to Niseko due to the pandemic. It was clear that they put a lot of heart into the dishes, and the sushi was still good. I’m looking forward to returning on my next visit to give the restaurant another try, as I believe it has great potential and I’d love to see how it continues to develop.

Brand new place in Niseko 2 weeks old. Sase is a legend who came back from Hong Kong. Worth the visit and still unknown so relatively easy to book. Our best in Japan on this trip!

A delightful meal in the most magical setting! The menu was exciting and filled with many options. Get anything with their aged potatoes - they are the most delicious potatoes you will have. Also their chocolate terrine with strawberry sorbet was rich yet perfectly balanced.

Amazing service and a showcase of local Hokkaido ingredients. If the Michelin Guide reviewed on the island, this place would surely earn a star. The onion soup, wagyu, and scallops were true standouts.

An extremely pleasurable experience. After trying to get a table at the sister restaurant first (fully booked of course) the gentleman from Kamimura walked us over to Kitchen. Today was a set menu and luckily we were able to get a table. The staff was exquisite and food was fabulous. After a great day of skiing Kitchen was the best stop of our ski trip to japan.

A new restaurant of my favorite Kamimura in the same building. It caters to provide casual dining with fusion food of Japanese or even Chinese origins. Interior decoration is very trendy. Services were impeccable. Foie gras sandwiches were very good, silky texture with sweet saucing. Besides, I liked the grilled chicken with very crispy skin & risotto a lot it that evening.

Incredible 😍 food was to die for. The Kitchen Niseko experience were amazing. All the food was well cared for and put together with such thought and detail. Would highly recommend to anyone. Great atmosphere, service and taste explosion.

A most amazing omakase meal. Two chefs making each course, piece by piece in front of you. A small and intimate experience with a fine selection of sake and other drinks to choose from. I actually started crying - it was so absolutely delicious and a beautiful restaurant. For a special occasion this is the only place to go.

Amazing omakase experience! Chefs were very polite and made great lengths to help us figure out the English name for each fish/seafood type. Perfect amount of food and a wonderful tour of local seafood types. Might never experience something this legit again! Highly recommend🤤

This omakase was the highlight of our time dining out in Hirafu. Chef Isono and his sous chef are fantastic, very welcoming and masters at what they do. This was by far the best sushi we had while in Hokkaido, the highest quality local ingredients, skillfully prepared and served. The drink options were also great! We were celebrating our honeymoon and they made the entire dining experience feel very special. We will definitely return next time we’re in town.

My first Omikaze experience and chef Isono and his second chef made it such an incredible experience. Each piece of deliciousness was handcrafted with incredible perfection and expertise. The sake available was also delicious. Could not have asked for a better experience. Will definitely be coming back next time!

Food is super fresh! And the price is incredibly good. We ordered at grilled Arka Mackerel fish. Tender and flavorful. Never had anything like it. The sushi set is delicious. The uni and ikura don is fresh and fragrant. No fishy smell at all. Highly recommend.

We came first day without reservations and was rejected. The guy told us they are fully reserved (whole place is empty) and can’t take us or allow take away. We left and made reservations for next day. (Honestly we went opposite 7-11 and don’t see many cars arrive after we left) 2nd day, we came with reservations. Food is delicious. We ordered salmon sushi, tuna sashimi, snow crab tempura and sukiyaki. Price mid to high

Food was good but a bit expensive which may be why the rating is not high. Would give it a 4+ for food. The tables are set up so you are in private rooms which is nice. We came here as Jimin and Jungkook dined here. It’s a short drive from Niseko I would return if in the area.

Came here as it is near our hotel and there’s a 7-11 right opposite so we could get some snacks after dinner. Food is ok, note there is a cover charge of 450 yen per pax if you order alcohol( which includes a small side dish) , you will be able to catch a nice view of mt yotei right outside the restaurant .

Our hotel concierge recommended this restaurant after some of our initial choices were quite fully booked for the night. A short drive away near to Niseko village , this restaurant is very spacious and large. There is a good selection on the menu though their omakaze option was not available. So we just ordered some of their main items ie shashimi, sushi, a couple of set dinners , a fried mackerel etc. food turned out to be quite decent and good . Pricing is slightly higher but probably overall still worth it. I would recommend this place if you want some nice sushi and sashimi.

A restaurant with really poor/slow service in general. Our orders took upwards of 30 minutes to arrive and some parts of it even got left out. Special requests such as no wasabi on the Sushi were also not followed. The Sushi and sashimi were of decent quality and were definitely priced well affordably. The ice cream dessert was also quite tasty. Overall, not worth the travel time and the wait for slightly above average food.

Recommend the cooked dishes instead of sashimi and sushi. Grill fish, mentaiko tempura, crab croquettes and butter potato are really delicious. No omakase supplying during peak snow season, not difficult to reserve a table.

Their dimsum buffet is very good value, good quality and service. The marinated tomatoes with osmanthus is AMAZING. All the staffs are very polite and professional, especially May Chou! Looking forward to the bext visit already. 🫶🏼

Food is so great!! We went back the second time during our stay. Hairy crab egg, and steamed fish were my favorite, but all dishes were amazing. For lunch, we tried almost all items on the menu, they were all really delicious. And both desserts - mango sago and almond tofu — were so good, so do get both!

What an incredible experience! Wonderful food, of course, with an excellent tea selection (bottomless refills on the tea of the day!). We tried nearly everything item on the menu, and wished we’d had room for seconds. The staff were lovely! Our server, Bob, was friendly and attentive, and took great care of us. The website asked the purpose of our visit when we reserved online, and the staff surprised us with a lovely cake at the end of the meal, to celebrate our wedding anniversary! An all-around fantastic experience.

Delicious, solid meal with efficient service. Booked this for our second night at the hotel with a group of 4 and we were hungry after a day of skiing and this didn't disappoint. To begin, they served housemade peanuts and pickles - very delicious to start with. Fried rice had wok hei and a generous amount of scallops, the char siu and roast pork juicy, the stir fried scallops were nice and big, jellyfish very well seasoned. The longest wait was our last order of pork belly which was interesting but they came and apologised for that wait time, which was very considerate.

Good dim sum, but I’ve definitely had better (especially for the price point.) Lots of vegetarian options and I enjoyed the meal. Just felt it was a tad expensive for the quality. Favourite dish was the mushroom bao for sure!

Food was absolutely delicious, the service is professional, friendly and fast. Hermin did a great job serving and explaining the dish. Becoming a big fan now and looking forward to come again soon!

Wanted some hotpot for my birthday dinner so we decided to eat here. Was looking forward to Mt. Yotei view but it was unfortunately foggy that night. Since this was a buffet including drinks, selection was pretty much okay and basic. You can choose to upgrade to wagyu beef. The broths were yummy too. Also enjoyed the dessert bar especially the mochi! Service was excellent and most staff were Filipino 💯 Props to Myla who took care of us very well. And the rest of the staff who were all friendly - Erica, Bayo, Anthony, Urdara, Raisa, Kamada.

My experience here was the best. Bayu was an amazing host. He was extremely nice, entertaining and everything of this sort. The reception staff were also amazing. They helped us move tables due to an injury that one of our party members had while skiing. The atmosphere was amazing, service was great, and all staff members made you feel like a king.

Food was delicious and there was so much. Service was fabulous, Bay Suarnata (the assistant outlet manager) was extremely helpful explaining the process for cooking Shabu Shabu. He also went out of his way to find the wine that I wanted. Absolutely 5 star service.

“One of the best Shabu Shabu hot pot... in the whole galaxy😋” I couldn’t help using the word “galaxy” because I just saw the new Star Wars movie before coming to Niseko🤣. But in all honesty, Yotei Hilton’s Shabu Shabu hot-pot buffet compares well with some of the best! Some might consider it a bit pricey... but I guess it is a given when you are at The Hilton... isn’t it!😋 Just one look at the raw meats, seafoods and the veggies in the buffet and it’s easy to judge their high quality and freshness. Among the DRINKS, There were good selections of Sake and western spirits....and even though COCKTAILS were not listed on the menu, the courteous staff said that they could make one if we provided the name. Love it! 👍🏻 It’s advisable to book in advance during peak seasons. We noticed that barring a couple of empty tables, the restaurant was pretty full.... given the Christmas holidays and all. BROTHS/SOUPS- We had to choose 2 broths from among a list of 4 broths. 3 of them were in the non-spicy to mildly-spicy range. And one of them was very spicy. So we went for some contrasting choices- one non-spicy broth (chicken broth).... and one very spicy broth (Korean style broth). MEATS/SEAFOODS/VEGGIES- Among the meats in the buffet, the PORK BELLY CUTS, the BEEF CUTS and the CHICKEN MEATBALLS certainly stood out😋. The SEAFOOD looked so good that I wondered if it was caught like ...just half an hour ago 🤪. The CRAB LEGS, the ABALONE and the SHRIMP meat were all outstanding. I had cooked up quite a selection, and we were so busy enjoying it that we didn’t realize for almost a minute that our hot-pot stove had run out of fuel 🤣🤣. At which point of course they promptly replaced the canister... and we were back in business. Overall, just a world class hot-pot based on quality ingredients and it’s a A MUST-TRY if one is visiting Niseko (during winter/ski season of course! ❄️⛷)

We came to Hilton Niseko for a ski trip and chose Yotei for our first dinner. It’s conveniently located within the hotel and it really hit the spot after a long ski day. Hotpot is always fun and interactive, but the spread at Yotei really elevated the experience. To top it off, the staff was fantastic. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive. Special shoutout to Myla, Mio, Iyo, Erika, Raymond, Nasia, Higuchi, and Wu! 🙂 They were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed along with some nice conversation. Would definitely recommend fitting Shabu-shabu at Yotei into your trip!

Beyond amazing. Everything was to die for but especially the sweet potato and ice cream was the highlight of the meal. My friend booked this in advance and we skied down and took the shuttle to Setsu in time for lunch. Lunch is served for all guests at the same time so please don’t be late.

Paying JPY 30,000 per person, I think we can get 1 whole piece of scallop instead of half of it? There was more than 1 dish that I got only half a piece instead on the whole thing.

Nearly all the good restaurants in Niseko are expensive, and Araki is no exception. But I feel that their tempura omakase is probably the best out of all the fine dining options here and well worth the price. Comparable to any high end tempura restaurant in Tokyo or Osaka. Highly recommended!

We were a few minutes late to our reservation but they were very accommodating. Although we couldn’t speak Japanese, the chef could speak a little bit of English and had a pocket translator ready and was able to explain to us each dish we were served! Every dish was freshly battered and fried and served for instant consumption. There was a small surprise for birthdays as well!

Great food and service. There are two options of omakase you can order. We had the bigger menu. A 12-13 pieces of tempura and the finale was a bowl of tendon drizzle with yummy sauce.

Best Tempura Omakase! The restaurant is located inside the setsu hotel so you can get there early and hang out in the beautiful lounge. This omakase restaurant serves all guests at once, so it is important to be timely to your reservation. The chefs are cooking each coarse in front of you and everything is incredibly fresh. The staff was incredibly nice and let us know how to eat each serving. All dishes were presented beautifly, my favorites were the mackerel (so light and delicate), Sticky Rice Dried Sea Cucumber Ovaries (never had anything like this before), tempura rice bowl (ours had shrimp and scallop), the homemade icecream with tempura sweet (perfect desert). We arrived at 5:30pm and finished our meal at 7pm. This place is a gem!

Wonderful Tempura spot with everything done to perfection. Shrimp, eel and of course Hokkaidos famous uni. 12 counter seats and reservations are required. The staff/chef are really nice and accommodating to kids as well.
