Had a wonderful couple of days at this lovely little pub. All staff were so kind and friendly, and very considerate of my naughty dog. Had dinner in the pub on the first night, the lamb liver and it was delicious, I would absolutely recommend it. Everything was very fairly priced including breakfast. I had a large full English that was delicious and very generous. Room was very clean, warm and spacious. The view out the bedroom window was beautiful, it's a shame it was storming the whole time me and my partner were there. 10/10 fantastic little place. Would highly recommend.

Recently visited this establishment and was overwhelmed by the service provided. A big thanks to a lovely young lady believe her name was ellie ! she showed me to my room and delivered a lovely crisp pint of fosters to my room. i wasn’t even aware that room service was available - she recommended me places to go and as a solo traveller it was lovely to see someone so knowledgeable! she did offer to show me around but some ruffians appeared one of which lacking hair claimed the place was haunted so i had to drink my crisp pint quickly and leave the establishment. will definitely come back( i hope ellie’s is there to offer her services!)

Amazing pub in a nice secluded location. Beautiful views with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Good price on drinks with a large variety available. Very dog friendly 🐕 ..Multiple dog bowls outside and even got a choice of dog treats from the bar staff. Will definitely visit again.

It's a bit tricky to get to, single lanes. But the location is excellent by the Estuary. O high tide tables are by the water (outside). On low tide there's a tidal road, adds to the fun day out. The Sunday roast was excellent. Great service. Friendly.

This has become my new local… and I live 30 mins away! The staff here are so friendly and kindly - always up for a good chat and laugh. The food is phenomenal, and they have Rattler on tap! This is a fab place to eat, catchup with friends, or just enjoy the view.

Stopped for a quick beer en route to the nearby national trust Antony House. Very steep lanes on the bike but remote location adds to the charm. Tide was out so promised view a little disappointing as it's mud flats for a very long way before water begins. But the garden full of palm trees felt like a Caribbean island and the Cornish lager was well chilled. Food looked good.

We came in for a late Sunday lunch, unsure if they would be able to accommodate. We sat outside with our son and dog and were met with a lovely reception. We ordered 2 beef brisket dinners and a child's dinner. The food was amazing. Portion reasonable and selection of vegetables good. The best part was the meat, it fell apart and was well seasoned. Afterwards we enjoyed a dessert to share and sat looking across the estuary. We will return on our next visit to this unspoilt place.

Always a wonderful time visiting the wilcove. The staff are always friendly, the beer garden is a sun spot, there's always a friendly dog to say hello to! Not to mention the food is high quality and worth the price! Great selection of food and alcohol too, even alcohol free! I highly recommend the wilcove to anyone!

Very friendly staff and incredible food. Portion was bigger than I expected so you really do get your moneys worth. Can't recommend enough. Great place to have a meal while sitting outside in beautiful weather

Waited long time to get our order taken. Got wrong drinks and waited for a juice about 10min. Not even one time anybody came to ask how is food. Food is not the best and very expensive. Service is very poor. I had half rack of ribs which was 26£. Very small plate for the price. My partner got burger. I would not pay 18£ for this. Looks worse than fast food. Children’s fish and chips was very dry.

Super friendly staff and a lovely view!!! We stopped in for our 1 year anniversary and they certainly did not disappoint! The food and cocktails were absolutely delish!! 🤤 definitely going to be coming back again!! Honestly! If a main doesn’t take your fancy, a selection of the starters is more than enough! That’s what we had and it filled us both up with leftovers!!!! Highly recommend

Popped in for an early evening coffee. Splashing out... Tempted by the chips, they were really good. Cheeky half of Dartmoor IPA really good, too. Dog enjoyed the complimentary bowl of water! One small observation, the menus could be given a wipe.

Primarily a fish restaurant with their own boat so do a catch of the day. Very well cooked fish, in our case mackeral and pollock. Good selection of starters. Excellent service. Great view right on the waterfront so you can see the boats coming in and out and wcross the channel.

Restaurant
The Finnygook Inn, a traditional establishment with panoramic views of the valley, offers locally sourced food and a variety of beers. They also provide bed and breakfast accommodations. Recently, I had the pleasure of booking a birthday dinner at their restaurant. The inn is efficiently managed by an attentive and amiable staff. Upon arrival, we found the restaurant bustling with activity but were graciously directed to the bar while waiting for our table.
We had lunch here and the food was excellent. We both had the goats cheese mousse which was delicious and then the special BBQ baby back ribs which were also great. The portions of both courses were generous. Good choice of beer as well. It was quiet when we visited (mid week, mid June) and there were plenty of tables available.

This is how a pub should be! Great staff, fantastic food, lovely atmosphere. So good we booked it for the following night to celebrate our son’s RN pass out. Exceptional doesn’t cover it - cannot recommend highly enough!

Stopped off for a snack/ lunch on our way to a wedding. Staff were super friendly and the food was bloody brilliant! We had the boqureones, halloumi and fish fingers sandwich We didn't have the fish and chips but definitely had food envy seeing the size of the portion so would recommend that too if you have a large appetite. Good coffee. Beautiful view even on a rainy day
Sophie L — Google review
We stopped off for Sunday Lunch. The food was delicious, we ended up having a children's portion with extra veg as we hadn't planned a big lunch which was plenty. Service was good and views across Tamar Valley were stunning.
Clare H — Google review
Exactly how a pub should be! Amazing staff, and a dog friendly pub (with pub dog, Tribute). Free doggy treats on the bar. We loved the roast dinners (meat and veggie) … plentiful and delicious. Jail Ale was also perfect! I wish we were local!

Had Sunday roast here as a family and it was delicious! Huge portions full of taste and quality. Gluten free roast was still big and tasty. Service was quick and very personable. Fully reccomend

Absolutely loving this place, host is brilliant. Food excellent (pricing as you would expect). Pub is busy - we booked the restaurant and food was quickly served even though the place was busy. The waiter had an incredible moustache. The room had a wonderful view, very clean and Well catered (tea/coffee/fridge/water) and breakfast unexpectedly comes within the room price! Extra happy about that as we are walking to Falmouth. Will visit again!

I went to The Carew Arms and had a delightful experience. I tried their steak and ale pie as well as their steak and kidney pie, both of which were the most delicious pies I've ever tasted. These homemade delights are served at this dog-friendly pub with friendly and helpful staff. If I find myself in the area again, I will definitely make a return visit to this hidden gem. On another occasion, I visited for lunch and enjoyed a bright atmosphere.
Very pleasant young lady behind the bar. Lager was a reasonable price. Scotch eggs were great, seafood linguine was very nice, Vegetable Linguine was a bit too rich, it had a tangy taste, but luckily it was a small dish. Saw a seafood sharer being served, massive, is all that can be said about that. Very quiet restaurant.
Thomasin M — Google review
Sunday Roast: The staff were great. The decor and Atmosphere good. The price good. The Vegetables great, the gravy ok, just. The beef, gristle. The potatoes over cooked dark brown, the Yorkshire Pudding flat pancakes. The Tribute lemony, a husbandry issue. Place has potential.
Volksplane1 — Google review
Looking for somewhere local to where we were staying for a family meal. We came across The Carew Arms whilst investigating places to go. This was a certainly good choice. A small selection on the menu but great food, atmosphere and service.
Shaun G — Google review
The food wasn't very good at all, we ordered teriyaki vegetables, which was supposed to be made with seasonal veg, and what we got was pretty much a plate of peas on rice with the odd bit of veg. Before it was served we were asked if we wanted cheese on the rice which the dish comes with. My feeling is that the kitchen didn't have the veg to make this dish properly, and substituted the veg for a bag of peas. I ordered the scampi which was mediocre at best. Won't be going back.
Paul H — Google review
Initial impressions were that there wasn't much choice mid week on the lunch menu. However the burger I had was one of the best I've ever tasted and my wife really enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

The Cliff Top Café is a charming and tranquil establishment, boasting breathtaking panoramic views. Customers rave about the freshly made baguettes that are generously filled and reasonably priced. The assortment of salads is also highly recommended. This cafe has quickly become a favorite among visitors. Its peaceful atmosphere adds to the overall enjoyment of dining there. The cafe staff is friendly and accommodating, making it an ideal place for families with young children.
Great little cafe on the top of the cliff. Stunning views. Quite a few vegan options, my sandwich filling was nice (avocado and smoked tofu and salad) but the bread was a bit dry, I left most of the baguette. The coffee was great however and the raspberry cooler was very refreshing and tasty. My husband really enjoyed his cheese salad sandwich so maybe I just got unlucky with my baguette.
Zoe C — Google review
The best place ever for breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon and afternoon tea - and I’m not saying this lightly, as hobbits never talk lightly about their meals. The view is stunning, there are a few table both indoors and outdoors, also a couple benches to drink an amazing coffee while directly admiring the beautiful coastal landscape. The staff is super kind and friendly. I’m really looking forward to my breakfasts here this summer again!
Sara F — Google review
We both had the pancake stack with bacon, egg & hash brown. Hash browns were oily, bacon dry & overcooked, pancakes also dry. You get a drizzle of maple syrup. Disappointing. The coffee was good. The views were good.
Nik B — Google review
Came across this when walking the SW Coast Path. Great selection on the menu, very friendly service and I felt great value for money too. Particularly loved the pancakes.
Andy — Google review
A lovely café with delicious food and in an amazing spot. We visited the cliff top café on what happened to be the first sunny morning in some time. The views were lovely and it was very cosy inside. I had been before but not for some time and it wasn't some where I necessarily think of but someone else recommended it and we were very glad they did. I remember I had been a few times the other year to grab a takeaway breakfast baguette, as I was working along the cliffs, and that was lovely. The baguettes were full of tasty breakfast fillings and in delicious soft buttery baguettes. So I was looking forward to visiting again. When we arrived and saw the menu we were very excited. We ordered the breakfast stack pancakes that came with three pancakes, maple syrup, bacon, eggs and a hashbrown. We also had a milkshake each. It was all really delicious. The pancakes were light and fluffy, the bacon and hashbrown done perfectly crispy. The eggs were lovely and runny and it was all brought together by the maple syrup. I would definitely recommend a visit here anytime and I suspect it may become a favourite spot. Followed by a walk along the beach of course or perhaps after being on the beach and working up an appetite walking back up the cliff.

2025 update We have visited here for many years and this was the first time we were disappointed. 1 order of a vegetarian breakfast baguette (meant to have hash brown, eggs, sausage etc) only had the veggie sausage in it. I also ordered 2 pots of tea to share by 4 people. I was given 1 pot and when I asked for the second pot it was told it had the same amount as 2 pots in it (we squeezed 3 small cups from this pot) . I explained that it didn't wasn't correct and also that we needed 2 more cups. The server didn't seem happy to comply, but she eventually brought 2 more cups over. A vegetarian breakfast is now £10.50. I big increase, but that's the sign of the times. We also ordered scones for 4 people. This is where the disappointment set in. In the past these have been huge fresh scones with the cream and jam served in pots for you to add yourself. Now these are just small scones, nothing special about them, and the jam and cream are put on for your. It takes away part of the enjoyment. A small scone with butter, jam and cream was £5.10 so very expensive now. I would not return to buy this again, which is a shame as we have visited this cafe many times over the years. ,................ 2021 update extended seating area outside. Slightly different menu, lovely falafel wraps and pancakes added. Salt and paper Pots removed due to covid. Vegetarian breakfast is great value at £6.99 and very tasty. I like that they allow you to swap items too. ,............ We visit here each time we visit Whitsand bay. Waited a short while for the scones but they were freshly baked. Very generous portion sizes. Love the quirky salt and pepper shakers. Such stunning views all around. Cream tea was £4.50 per person. Large scones, loads of cream and jam and a huge pot of tea. Menu includes a fantastic range of baguettes and sandwiches. Lots of vegetarian choice. A nice casual cafe right on the cliff. No good for wheelchair access.

The Liscawn is definitely a little gem tucked away in gorgeous scenic area of Torpoint. We booked a family room for my son's passing out parade at HMS Raleigh and were not disappointed. The room was on two levels, lovely and clean, complimentary drinks and the beds were so comfortable. We were given a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast with cold and cooked options. We definitely recommend and would stay again if visiting Torpoint.

What a wonderful wonderful hotel and a night away! All round a lovely experience and certainly the most warming and welcoming hosts we have ever had the pleasure of staying with. The hotel is a beautiful historic building down a long winding drive in 'the middle of knowwhere' yet very easy to find. We arrived at the hotel in total peace and quiet, only some sheep grazing and beautiful views. The first welcome we had was by the hoteliers son, who was warm and welcoming and showed us to our room. The room was just right, nice comfy bed, beautiful views and all the amenities you need for an overnight stay (tea, coffee, TV, towels etc). We found out we were the only guests staying in the hotel this night and to pop down when we fancied dinner, and they would open up the bar for us. When we went down, we were welcomed by the wonderful Fiona who, even though it was late and the only people there opened the bar and made us some hot stacks (wedges and garlic bread) and we ended up chatting into the middle of the night like we had all known each other for a lifetime! Very reasonably priced food and drink, and I look forward to sampling full meals on our next visit! In the morning, we went down for breakfast to be greeted with a full continental array (again even though we were the only guests) and the same warm smiling welcome we had the night before! The cooked breakfast was perfect, with thick cuts of smoked bacon, fresh sausages, and all the trimmings! An amazing relaxing stay. We thank you all so much and can not wait to return!

This was my second time staying at the Liscawn and im happy to say it certainly wont be my last. The Liscawn is a beautiful stone building built in 1310 and is surrounded by wonderful views. This is a family run business that takes a personal approach which really helps ensuring fantastic service. My son (5 years old) had a lovely time and enjoyed every mornings breakfast with his complimentry cookies from the owners! This is also a dog friendly accommodation that offers a cooked sausage for your doggie every morning! I love the room we stayed in which was in the barn conversation, it was cosy with great views (see picture uploaded) and i really appreciate how quiet the Liscawn is tucked away in its own beautiful land. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Liscawn, with the wonderful and kind family that run this hidden gem a stones throw away from the Rame Head coast. I would definitely recommend a stay.

The best hotel stay! Stayed here for work, my room (6) was beautiful, the location was lovely and quiet and staff are amazing! The breakfast we had cooked for us was 10/10 as well. I will definitely be returning! Staff reopened the bar for us after closing and made us feel so welcome and relaxed! :)
Charlotte P — Google review
The Liscawn was listed as a 4* hotel, and it probably was in its hay-day, but it is now run like an ensuite B&B plus, with an evening meal option. The hotel is located in a rural area in several acres of grounds with grand views over nearby fields and hills. However, our room was a bit tired, and the shower room was cramped. We had an enjoyable full English breakfast, but there were no mid-day snacks or drinks available as the bar was only open in the evening during meal service.
Robert W — Google review
Staff are superb, rooms are large and beds are comfy. Beach is within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. The service is second to none. Breakfast isn't usually served until 7 and I had to leave at 6. The host went out of her way and ensured my breakfast was ready to take away! 10/10 all around

Diners are consistently impressed by the generous portions and fresh ingredients that make each dish a delight. Whether you're traveling from afar or just around the corner, you'll find that every meal is crafted with care and passion.
Wow, wow wow!! We travelled from Somerset to Torpoint to watch a football match, so we googled where to eat and this place was top of the list (and can clearly see why) so we rang and booked for 8 of us. From the moment we arrived until we left we were amazed not only by the food but the hospitality towards us as well. Each of us had a different meal so we could share as we could not choose as it all sounded so good. We were not disappointed at all. You can clearly taste and see it's all homecooked and made with passion. We are already planning on coming back. Thank you so much it really was all amazing 👏

The food was amazing, there was looked beautiful, staff very nice and smiling. One minus we had to wait for food 40 min. But they give us free cake on the way. 😋

Absolutely amazing, out of this world food! Best takeaway in Torpoint! Whenever I order the quality is always consistent delivery is never late and it arrives when they say it will. Can't think of any complaints! On top of all that; the portion sizes are generous, and it's reasonably priced. Ever since discovering this place, I've refused to order anywhere else 😋💕

Definitely hard to believe this place is there nearly 9 years. I saw an AD on Facebook and I wanted to try polish cuisine as there is not massive amount of polish restaurants around Plymouth. They did not disappoint. Prices absolutely low for what you getting, me and my partner had 2 main meals, 3 dessert, 2 drinks for £35. We left the place fully stuffed with goodies. Amazing pierogi (pic) and big stuffing hot dog with a polish sausage done like in a 5* restaurant with fresh veg, some greens etc. £10 for 7-8 massive pierogi with cabbage and mushrooms stuffing and beacon around. I didn't even needed salt and I put salt on everything. I was scared of a price of these pierogis but it turned out to be a bargain. Chef gave us few spoonfuls of other meals they recommend off charge just to let you know what you might want to order next time. We decided to go there every week or two from now on. Five stars isn't enough. Not many places like this around.

Absolutely beautiful food as per usual. We had the lamb shank and mixed seafood noodles which were both stunning! I normally get the carbonara which is lovely. Back ordering today with a roast, which are also amazing. Couldn’t recommend Pirates and the team more 💪🏿💕

We had a takeaway tonight and it was incredible. Great portions, fresh tasting food and our whole family was happy (which doesn’t happen often) loads of food and the extra dips etc were brilliant. Without any doubt, this is the BEST takeaway in Torpoint. Thankyou all so much.

Indian takeaway
Nestled in Torpoint, Spice Aroma is a delightful culinary gem that has garnered attention for its flavorful offerings. This restaurant stands out not only for its delicious food but also for the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly staff. Diners have praised the quality of dishes, noting that both takeaway and dine-in experiences are equally enjoyable. Many visitors have expressed their satisfaction with the vibrant flavors and perfect spice levels, making it a go-to spot for those craving authentic cuisine.
My dad and I have come here three times and the staff have always been absolutely lovely; especially Momtaj :) . This was basically my first introduction to Indian food and she has always been super patient with me and explained dishes to me that I have been unsure about. This place is amazing and more people who live in/come through Torpoint should definitely give this place a shot!
Emily F — Google review
Poor, poor, poor customer service and a disgraceful attitude towards a customer when it is they who can't run their business correctly. What I experienced tonight is unbelievable, both the girl on the phone and the manager should both be ashamed. Their food is actually good but if it let me, would give 0 stars because they are just downright rude towards a customer for something that is their fault. Apparently, the menu changed June 2024, but still in December 2024, the online menu has not been updated which is what I used. On the website menu, it clearly states a Balti is "Served with Naan Bread" as I have attached in the photo. The order arrived with the Naan bread missing, so I called to say I had an item missing from my order. Was told the menu had changed June 2024, which obviously I do not know because I am using the online website menu, but immediately I am made to feel that it is my problem, and I shouldn't expect to receive what I ordered off the website menu even if it still shows it is served with the bread 6 months later. I comment, I should be delivered what I ordered in accordance with what is advertised. Was told they will sort it out and so the missing item arrives, only to be then asked to pay an extra £3.90 for the bread, even though a Naan bread is actually £3.50 on their so called new menu! I state there is no extra, because I am only receiving what they have advertised on the website and so the driver leaves. Then get a phone call with attitude, basically telling me I should pay the extra even though it is their website menu that is incorrect !!! Also given some BS, that it takes time for their website provider to update the online menu. It has ben 6 months for gods sake, but again, that is apparently my problem because I am ordering off the website and not theirs!! Was then told that when I called to complain, I had agreed to pay the extra for the missing item to be delivered, which I did not, and why would I, when I am expecting it as part of my order in accordance with the website menu, so I am then told I am a liar. They eventually put the phone down on me telling me not to order again, so that says a lot!!! Spent quite a bit of money with them over the last 18 months but now another customer lost through just sheer bad attitude for their mistake and complete lack of customer understanding. Calling me a liar and telling me I am in the wrong, for you not updating your website in the last 6 months and then trying to make me feel like I am the bad guy for your incompetence and greed, just because i asked for what I ordered off your incorrect website menu? Who do you think you are and what right do you think you have to speak to someone like that, for your mistake? Looking forward to hear what the Ombudsman says with regards this when I report it. I also see Spice Aroma do not respond to these reviews, so that says it all too, but, if you do have something extra to say on top of your previous rant, I look forward to seeing your comments, because your attitude stinks and you will then show everyone else what type of non customer orientated business you are. Shame on you

Not my normal Indian take away but it was nice, food was hot and delivered in good time.
Shane L — Google review
We stopped using Spice Aroma about 3 years ago over an incident where our food delivery was really late and the majority of the food had gone cold. We rang up to complain and ask for some food to be replaced. We were spoken to like absolute garbage with no apology or explanation. Eventually we were given some fresh chips and nothing else, these took a long time to be sent back out to us. We swore we would never use them again. However today we decided to give Spice Aroma another chance as choices in Torpoint are limited when it comes to takeaway. We rang up to place the order at 5pm for delivery. We were told the delivery driver doesn't start until 6pm but our food would be delivered shortly after this time, fair enough at least they made us aware. 6.35pm came and still no sign of food so we rung up to see where it was. We were swiftly handed over to who we assumed was the manager or owner, who proceeded to speak to us extremely rudely and abruptly. We were given an ultimatem, either accept the food when it turns up or have a refund. We had no apology, no explanation, they didn't say they would chase the order. His attitude and manner was disgusting. We were fuming and in two minds what to do. Anyway, the food did turn up and was 'warm-ish', some food was overcooked and burnt on the bottom. In hindsight perhaps we should have taken the food back. We chose to resist ringing back up, or going down to return the food as it would have led to tempers being lost! This time we will have definitely decided to never ever use Spice Aroma again! Customer service alone is 0/10. Leason finally learn. Overall, poor customer service, ridiculously long delivery times, expensive and the food has gone very average. Please do not use them and don't be disappointed.

We used to be regular customers, but sadly we had such a bad experience we will never order from them again. We ordered takeaway and we received an email confirmation from them timestamped 6:22pm stating it would be ready at 7:12pm. It never arrived. At 7:54pm I called them. At first I was told there had been a mistake and the driver was on his way and would be with me very soon. I called again at 8:17pm and was told they hadn’t actually bothered to check where he was, they had no idea where he might be or how long he would be. I told them to call the driver and get his location and call me back, but they didn’t. I called again at 8:23pm and was told he was in Anthony and we were his next stop, which is a 15 minute drive away. Each time it turned out to be untrue. It got later and later. I had two small children who had to stay up late past their bedtime with no food and were hungry. At 8:44pm I called again and I asked to speak to the manager. He told me the driver had to go to lots of other customers first and we would be the last stop, contradicting again what I was previously told. The manager, who is also the owner, kept threatening to cancel the order because I had complained, and leave us and my children with no food at all. Eventually the food did arrive at 9pm with a timestamped receipt showing 6:24pm, over 2 and half hours after ordering and nearly 2 hours later than the 7:12pm delivery they promised in their original email confirmation. The driver was lovely. But the dispatch staff repeatedly gave me incorrect information. The owner rather than apologising and learning how he could improve his systems told me it was my wife’s fault because she must have pressed the wrong button, despite email evidence to the contrary. And instead of being apologetic and accepting responsibility he chose to be rude and aggressive. Shockingly bad attitude towards customer service.

If you are gluten free don't go here.... As the owner has said he won't be doing any more gluten free..... We have had curry here many times it has been very nice, but this time the Curry was very watery, (delivery) so I took the curry back to ask it to be re made, VERY rude owner, he said as it is gluten free this is why it is full of water. And that is how it is.... I mentioned that it has never been like this before. I asked if he has any corn flour or anything to bulk it out with he said no. He mentioned he can't do gluten free as they have not got the time to keep stiring the curry.... 🤔🤔.... Wile I was there he was rude to his daughter and staff saying no more gluten free dishes to be ordered. And that nothing on the menu is gluten free anymore. He was also rude talking to staff about me in the kitchen, his daughter had to go into the kitchen and tell them we could hear them..... Rude and can not accommodate the local community that pays his Bill's....

Not great, driver couldn't make it to the right address so it took about half hour to give him directions over the phone. And the food....well, whoever cooked it loves to put massive chunks of chilli into everything. We had 2 dishes and soup. It all had the same taste. Wouldn't order again.

Telephoned order through for group of 6, collected & paid cash (Wongs request customers to pay in cash). Each dish was delicious. Recommend the house special fried rice & king prawn curry. Staff pleasant & food packed carefully with brief description on each lid for easy identification.

After visiting this establishment for the second time recently I can only say that the food has gone downhill. This had always been my favourite takeaway, but after my last 2 visits I don't think I will be back. The meat across all three dishes we had was hard and chewy, probably through overcooking or reheating. Also while the flavours were quite good, there was an overuse of either salt or MSG, which left a bit of a thirst. There is also an annoying 80p surcharge on card payments, no matter what your spend. Not my favourite any more.
Richard P — Google review
Food is good. The shop however is slightly stuck in the stone age seen as you can't pay using card or online. Which is quite annoying these days and results in you having to travel, which when your hungover as most of us are on the weekend it becomes quite an effort :).

Awful the chips were stale , the rice tasted like it was microwaved worst food I've ever tasted.. could of got a better Chinese from icelands .. wouldn't ever recommend this place. .. would get a full refund if I could but at 10.30 at night pointless arguing when they don't even understand your order let alone getting the food at the right temperature.. if you fancy albino chips, - and pink chicken balls(was it even chicken?) and half a tub of sweet and sour sauce.. never mind the egg fried rice which is from a packet.. 2 for a £1... then this is the place for you!

Takeaway menu has good selection of dishes. There should be something to please everyone. Hot and spicy dishes are indicated on the menu. Most items tried have been tasty and good value. Portions are generously sized and suitable for sharing. Create your own Chinese Banquet. Staff are very quick but sometimes it is necessary to wait in line. If you just can't wait you can phone in your order and collect it from the shop. NOTE: Wongs is CASH ONLY! They do not accept credit/debit cards.

The Copley Arms in Hessenford is a delightful dining destination that truly caters to all, especially those with dietary restrictions. The attentive staff go above and beyond to ensure guests can enjoy their meals without worry, coordinating seamlessly with the chef for any necessary adaptations. With a diverse menu featuring options for various allergens and dietary needs, diners are sure to find something delicious. Families will feel right at home here; it’s an ideal spot for leisurely meals together.
Had another fabulous meal at The Copley Arms Hessenford. With several food intolerances, the staff were super helpful and organised. They coordinated with the chef and ensured I could eat with confidence. The menu has a fabulous selection of foods for most allergens and dietary requirements and we’re still happy to make adaptations. The food was cooked perfectly and was very fresh. The service was spot on. Overall a highly recommended place to dine, especially if you have dietary needs.

We thoroughly enjoy our first evening meals at Copley Arms and what a transformation over the original establishment - stunning. A very warm welcome, crackling log fires with a cosy ambience. Food was excellent, service first class, they really looking after you, treat you as an individual and simply couldn't do enough. Highly recommended.

Came here for dinner and it was superb! Staff were so welcoming and attentive, food was absolutely incredible and the pub was lovely inside and out. Dog friendly pub too - our pup was given his own little bowl of water on arrival and there’s a jar of treats you can dip into as well.

Passed this pub on the way to Looe so decided on the way back to visit. What a great place. The restaurant is lovely, with outside seating near a river. The warm welcome we had from Ollie on the bar was refreshing he found us a table and then we had fantastic service by a lady, think her name was Laura. The food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend the pizza, all homemade. The whole experience was wonderful.

I cannot comment on rooms as we did not stay here. However, if the rest of the experience was anything to go by, they would be exceptional. The pub is a wonderful family friendly place, and very well suited to spend a long time eating and drinking? We went as a family of six, for a full three courses. The variety of dishes is fantastic with vegetarian options available throughout. I would recommend anyone who enjoys fresh fish to order the fresh cod. It was utterly incredible! Our party enjoyed a good selection of steak, risotto, Fish pie, pork (bring your stretchy trousers....this thing was huge!!) and vegetarian burger. All mains were very tasty, and all finished in record time! Our servers were all friendly, polite and attentive. We simply could not have asked for a better evening meal, and would recommend anyone in or around the area to try it. My one and only negative comment would be that the current external building work means there is a skip taking up one of only two disabled parking spaces. We happened to need that with one of our party, but there is enough room to drop off anyone who requires it and carry on to park in the main car park. Very happy, and would be back in a flash if we didn't live 200 miles away!!

A wonderful Sunday lunch and a great venue. Two of us had the beef and two of us had the pork. The meat was absolutely delicious and it was a good portion. I am glad we didn’t go for a double portion. The homemade horseradish was excellent. The service was great - very attentive and friendly. The food arrived very quickly and was hot. The Yorkshire puddings were a great size and tasted lovely, clearly homemade. We were slightly disappointed with the amount of veg for each person. One piece of carrot each and one leaf of cabbage/kale we felt was tight especially considering how generous the meat portion. We would definitely visit again and are tempted by the steak and wine offer we saw advertised.
Peter B — Google review
Friends and I stayed in a nearby rental house for several days and ate twice at this cozy, relaxed pub: once for a later lunch and once for Sunday roast. Excellent selection including vegetarian: the pea and mint risotto was creamy and hit the spot, the fish n chips were crisped to perfection. Great people, easy to find, and would stop here any time I'm back here.

The staff at Aspects Bar & Restaurant were extremely pleasant, helpful, and affable. The ambiance of the place was delightful. We were a group of six and found that they didn't push us too hard on the menu choices. The quality of the food we had was satisfactory and it was presented beautifully. However, we did find it a bit expensive, especially paying nearly £5 for a pint of beer.
Staff were lovely helpful and friendly. Lovely atmosphere. We were a party of 6 and we werent over zealous about the menu. The food we did have was adequate and beautifully presented. At nearly £5 for a pint of beer was a bit steep. 2 asked for curry however on both parts we should have been clearer in asking for a vegetable one and we should have been asked which one we wanted. It was lucky that we were not vegetarian.! The deserts were very expensive we felt as most places average between £4 and £5. Its set in a beautiful and serene setting. However as a group of pensioners we sadly will not go back. Dont be put off by our experience we couldnt fault the staff or surroundings.

During my first visit to Kilbys restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The establishment offered an exceptional dining experience with its delicious cuisine and excellent service. The food arrived promptly and in generous portions, satisfying my appetite completely. I would highly recommend this British restaurant to all my acquaintances, as it truly exceeded my expectations. The staff members, particularly waitresses Zoe and her colleague, were delightful and exhibited impeccable manners throughout the evening.
First time visiting kilbys restaurant but the best one I have ever visited. Every aspect from the food to the service was fantastic. The food was quick and a very good size portion. And I would definitely recommend to all my friends and family. I had a waitress called Zoe but both the waitresses there were lovely and very well mannered. And I have never found anywhere else with the same standard of service as this restaurant supplied. I will definitely be visiting again thanks for a lovely meal

Located on the outskirts of Newquay, The Fort Inn is a charming and inviting pub that boasts breathtaking coastal views. This family-friendly establishment takes pride in catering to all age groups, from toddlers to grandparents. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the menu offers a delightful variety of dishes that are always freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The friendly staff members are always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries.
Took lunch here after a friend’s recommendation. I did look at some reviews before I visited and some of the bad reviews were comical. My visit was mid December so there were very few people in, hence the low score for atmosphere, but the service was great, as was the food, which, at £12.50 per person, was good value. I was expecting to pay for my food on ordering as so many reviews said was the case but this was not my experience- maybe it’s something that happens in the peak summer months. The bar is pleasant and the toilets are modern and clean. Very happy with my sausages and mash, and Mrs D had a very generous cheese ploughman’s.

A lovely restaurant and bar that can be found in side the Whitsand bay holiday park. Warming atmosphere here with friendly staff, food was excellent maybe a little pricey but really enjoyed our food. Toilets super clean also dogs allowed in . Disable friendly too. The building was formerly part of the fort that was built for sea defences during ww2.

Weds 6th Aug 2025 A mixed review here. I couldn't fault the quality or quality of the food. We had veggie burgers, fish and chips, burger, and fish kids meals and all we're cooked perfectly. Fish and chips with curry sauce was £20.50 so not cheap, but decent size portion. My issue and reason for the low rating is the advertising outside the venue. We don't often eat here although we stay on the site, but we decided to try it again. We spotted a quiz advertised on the noticeboard and decided to give it a try. ****On the same board it was advertised that kids eat free when adult meals are purchased every Wednesday during the school holidays. **** We thought that was a great incentive to try the restaurant. When we were ordering we heard the person in front be told that the offer was only for the lunchtime session. After I paid, I went back out to the board to check this and there was no mention of this in the advertising. It might not sound like a big deal.... But the kids meals are not cheap at £8 each x this by 3 kids and it adds £24 to the bill. Don't get me wrong the food was good, but at that price many places offer a drink or dessert as part of a kids meal. Each family in the place had at least 2 kids with them so they made a lot of money from these families who had seen the offer and decided to eat there based on the false information. I spoke to 2 other families who said they had seen the offer. In most cases the family consisted of grandparents as well as the parents, so decent sized parties spending a fair bit of money. I spoke to Albert, who did go and check it out with a manager, who didn't appear to be on site as I asked for them. He was told to tell us it was just for lunchtime. I will return to the restaurant and speak to the manager as they are advertising false information so please be aware of this if you intend to visit with children. I asked them to remove the poster and I did notice this had happened by the time we left. If any of you are visiting this summer, please check the board and question it if it appears like this again. On a more positive note Albert is a fun entertainer and server and did a great job with the quiz. It was a lot of fun.

A wonderful place for a Sunday carvery. We went for the first time on Sunday and to be honest it was better than expected! Carvery on a Sunday for less than £15! Bargain! The carvery itself was definitely one of the best quality we've had! So tasty, everything hot and absolutely massive portions of meat that was beautifully cooked. Such a large amount of space inside and outside and a very beautiful scenic drive to the pub. We will be back soon.

Took my 80 year old for mum for lunch on Wednesday. Great service & accommodated her small appetite. I had the pie of day with roast potatoes (potatoes & gravy were excellent), and partner had the ploughman’s for one. Was huge but he polished off the lot. Our waiter was shocked he had managed it. Looking forward to our carvery next week.

Fantastic food here, we didn't fancy a big meal each at the time so ended up getting a load of starters and a pizza for the table to share. Can't recommend this highly enough!! The "fat halloumi fries" were epic (everything you wish a halloumi fry would be at every other place you go but are often disappointed haha - not here!!). It was off-season and pre-quiz evening when we went so was nice and quiet but it started to get busier as people arrived for the Wednesday night quiz. Had a few good games of pool too!
Laura T — Google review
The food is decent and presentable, missed order and found out the starter didn't order in the beginning. But everything sorted out in the end after an hour since the starter was missing. I understand the culture of British dining is at a slow pace and enjoying it,but the missed order is unacceptable, if this happens in Asian countries, this may become a disaster and maybe refuse for bill paying....

Restaurant
Nestled within the picturesque Powderham Castle Estates Country Store, The Orangery Restaurant offers a delightful escape for food lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. With stunning views of the deer park and castle, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy a meal after exploring the estate or taking a leisurely stroll to the estuary. The restaurant features an inviting outdoor terrace, perfect for indulging in their famous cream tea while soaking up the serene surroundings.
Came in just for a coffee and cake, but was drawn in to the menu the moment I saw it. We got the cheeseboard and for the price, the quantity you get AND the quality is incredible. The only critique I would have is there is no recommendations for what to pair the cheeses with, however the pairings they provided us with was delicious, the chutney goes with everything. An easy recommendation if you're willing to make the journey!

Went for a cream tea very nice only thing was the scone was hot so the cream started to melt.

The cream teas were awesome, they even had a gluten free scone for my cream tea and actually gave me two little ones to make up for the fact the regular one (that my friend had) is so large!! Amazing service, definitely coming back!

A place full of beauty! Loved the peacefulness atmosphere. No WiFi. The food was simple.

Honestly, it is so beautiful inside and especially outside, you seem to have to book to sit inside (table service) , but there are tables available for non bookers...beware, the queue takes quite a while to get to order and eat outside, Outside has a gorgeous garden to look at while you eat or drink something The ice cream was devine! £2.35 one big scoop cone... I also had a chicken Mayo toasty £6 something, and it alll was pretty well priced considering its a wedding venue and portions I'd happily go back

Lovely period building with a good food selection (try the ice cream...). It's often very busy though, so getting a seat can be a challenge. It's set next to the formal gardens, which make a gorgeous walk.

This is a flat white? It looks like tea. Absolutely ridiculous when they have a beautiful setting and what looks like an amazing machine to make coffee but they fail to meet the normality of knowing how to make a decent flat white.

The staff is friendly, the food is served quickly, the taste is good, and the environment is comfortable. The washrooms are clean and spacious.
