The Courtyard is a hidden gem located in Looe, offering a delightful dining experience. Situated in a charming courtyard just off the main high street, this restaurant stands out for its use of fresh fish and seafood sourced from Looe market. Additionally, they take pride in growing their own vegetables, ensuring quality and sustainability. Not only do they cater to those seeking gluten-free and vegan options, but they also provide healthy choices for all dietary preferences.
Just off the main high street is this charming tucked away cafe serving delicious food and an excellent cream tea - super friendly team and we were made to feel very welcome, as was.our dog Oppo - this place is definitely worth a visit.

Delicious and Nutritious. The soul bowl is a must! The midwife told me to boost my iron levels this will do it! My favourite spot in looe great food, cakes, coffee and the team are just amazing. Thank you for another yummy dish.

What a gem of a cafe. Delightful courtyard with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. A tasty menu and all beautifully presented. Smiley and friendly staff. Dog friendly. Delicious cakes and Scones. Highly recommend.
Janey G — Google review
What a cracking little place. They seem to be really eco conscious, which makes spending here easy. The low ceilings and neutral toned decor gives a sense of calm. Real plants and crafty design features is a feast for the green-fingered type. There is only one toilet which i could see and it was hard to work out if it was occupied or not. I would say the floor space would not work for those in wheelchairs or pushchairs. We did not eat there, however it looked all vegetarian or vegan 🤩🥳 The drinks we had were tasty and were served at our table with a smile. There are board games available to play at no cost.

Lovely hidden gem of a vegetarian cafe nestled between two. buildings, it quite hard to miss. Food is absolutely gorgeous, full of flavour and well presented. Even on a busy bank holiday, service was quick. The courtyard not only gives a cosy secluded atmosphere, on blazing hot summers day it can offer some relief to the heat, and since its dog friendly your k9 friend will enjoy the cool, quiet space. Somes seats do still get the sun if you prefer. There are also plenty of tables inside if the weather is not so summery.

After a week of pasties and fish and chips, we were happy to stumble on this place and have some fresh and amazing salads. The food was so good, I wish we had discovered it earlier. Beautiful cakes too and a nice friendly, earthy atmosphere. Recommend!

Wow what a find ! Tucked away off the busy street in a quiet, leafy courtyard. Food all looked delicious so it was hard to choose BUT I can confirm the Soul Bowl was outstanding. Such beautiful& delicate flavours, well balanced. And Cinnamon Crunch was perfect with a freshly brewed loose leaf tea. But I did have to share it !! Thoroughly recommend & v friendly staff are to be commended too. Thank you

For our first time here, we were surprised at finding it was a vegetarian based cafe. My wife and I came in with little expectations but left wanting more. Food was delicious and so were the drinks. Taste and nutritious. We again came back a few days later for a second meal just as they were stopping food. They accommodated us and we both had their soul bowls and again didn't disappoint. Would recommend everyone to try.

Very friendly staff and incredible food. Portion was bigger than I expected so you really do get your moneys worth. Can't recommend enough. Great place to have a meal while sitting outside in beautiful weather

Waited long time to get our order taken. Got wrong drinks and waited for a juice about 10min. Not even one time anybody came to ask how is food. Food is not the best and very expensive. Service is very poor. I had half rack of ribs which was 26£. Very small plate for the price. My partner got burger. I would not pay 18£ for this. Looks worse than fast food. Children’s fish and chips was very dry.

Super friendly staff and a lovely view!!! We stopped in for our 1 year anniversary and they certainly did not disappoint! The food and cocktails were absolutely delish!! 🤤 definitely going to be coming back again!! Honestly! If a main doesn’t take your fancy, a selection of the starters is more than enough! That’s what we had and it filled us both up with leftovers!!!! Highly recommend

Popped in for an early evening coffee. Splashing out... Tempted by the chips, they were really good. Cheeky half of Dartmoor IPA really good, too. Dog enjoyed the complimentary bowl of water! One small observation, the menus could be given a wipe.

Primarily a fish restaurant with their own boat so do a catch of the day. Very well cooked fish, in our case mackeral and pollock. Good selection of starters. Excellent service. Great view right on the waterfront so you can see the boats coming in and out and wcross the channel.

Breakfast restaurant
The Cliff Top Café is a charming and tranquil establishment, boasting breathtaking panoramic views. Customers rave about the freshly made baguettes that are generously filled and reasonably priced. The assortment of salads is also highly recommended. This cafe has quickly become a favorite among visitors. Its peaceful atmosphere adds to the overall enjoyment of dining there. The cafe staff is friendly and accommodating, making it an ideal place for families with young children.
Great little cafe on the top of the cliff. Stunning views. Quite a few vegan options, my sandwich filling was nice (avocado and smoked tofu and salad) but the bread was a bit dry, I left most of the baguette. The coffee was great however and the raspberry cooler was very refreshing and tasty. My husband really enjoyed his cheese salad sandwich so maybe I just got unlucky with my baguette.
Zoe C — Google review
The best place ever for breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon and afternoon tea - and I’m not saying this lightly, as hobbits never talk lightly about their meals. The view is stunning, there are a few table both indoors and outdoors, also a couple benches to drink an amazing coffee while directly admiring the beautiful coastal landscape. The staff is super kind and friendly. I’m really looking forward to my breakfasts here this summer again!
Sara F — Google review
We both had the pancake stack with bacon, egg & hash brown. Hash browns were oily, bacon dry & overcooked, pancakes also dry. You get a drizzle of maple syrup. Disappointing. The coffee was good. The views were good.
Nik B — Google review
Came across this when walking the SW Coast Path. Great selection on the menu, very friendly service and I felt great value for money too. Particularly loved the pancakes.
Andy — Google review
A lovely café with delicious food and in an amazing spot. We visited the cliff top café on what happened to be the first sunny morning in some time. The views were lovely and it was very cosy inside. I had been before but not for some time and it wasn't some where I necessarily think of but someone else recommended it and we were very glad they did. I remember I had been a few times the other year to grab a takeaway breakfast baguette, as I was working along the cliffs, and that was lovely. The baguettes were full of tasty breakfast fillings and in delicious soft buttery baguettes. So I was looking forward to visiting again. When we arrived and saw the menu we were very excited. We ordered the breakfast stack pancakes that came with three pancakes, maple syrup, bacon, eggs and a hashbrown. We also had a milkshake each. It was all really delicious. The pancakes were light and fluffy, the bacon and hashbrown done perfectly crispy. The eggs were lovely and runny and it was all brought together by the maple syrup. I would definitely recommend a visit here anytime and I suspect it may become a favourite spot. Followed by a walk along the beach of course or perhaps after being on the beach and working up an appetite walking back up the cliff.

2025 update We have visited here for many years and this was the first time we were disappointed. 1 order of a vegetarian breakfast baguette (meant to have hash brown, eggs, sausage etc) only had the veggie sausage in it. I also ordered 2 pots of tea to share by 4 people. I was given 1 pot and when I asked for the second pot it was told it had the same amount as 2 pots in it (we squeezed 3 small cups from this pot) . I explained that it didn't wasn't correct and also that we needed 2 more cups. The server didn't seem happy to comply, but she eventually brought 2 more cups over. A vegetarian breakfast is now £10.50. I big increase, but that's the sign of the times. We also ordered scones for 4 people. This is where the disappointment set in. In the past these have been huge fresh scones with the cream and jam served in pots for you to add yourself. Now these are just small scones, nothing special about them, and the jam and cream are put on for your. It takes away part of the enjoyment. A small scone with butter, jam and cream was £5.10 so very expensive now. I would not return to buy this again, which is a shame as we have visited this cafe many times over the years. ,................ 2021 update extended seating area outside. Slightly different menu, lovely falafel wraps and pancakes added. Salt and paper Pots removed due to covid. Vegetarian breakfast is great value at £6.99 and very tasty. I like that they allow you to swap items too. ,............ We visit here each time we visit Whitsand bay. Waited a short while for the scones but they were freshly baked. Very generous portion sizes. Love the quirky salt and pepper shakers. Such stunning views all around. Cream tea was £4.50 per person. Large scones, loads of cream and jam and a huge pot of tea. Menu includes a fantastic range of baguettes and sandwiches. Lots of vegetarian choice. A nice casual cafe right on the cliff. No good for wheelchair access.

Hearts Kitchen is a delightful community cafe that has quickly become a beloved spot in Stoke, Plymouth. With its dedicated indoor play area, it’s perfect for families looking to enjoy a meal while the kids have fun. The menu boasts an array of homemade delights including soups, sandwiches, and scrumptious cakes—especially their renowned Millionaire's brownies that have garnered rave reviews from locals and visitors alike.
Sat in on delightful terrace garden overlooking Tamar waterfront and Plymouth, plus as a bonus both the 2 bridges to Cornwall. Anyway the second was friendly, great full breakfast menu and amazing array of cakes.

For a small village cafe, this place ticks all the boxes. I started going here a couple of years back, just after lock down. I found an amazing array of cakes and delicious cafe food. I believe that most of what is on offer is home made. The cakes are always different and always amazing. Some of the best cheesecake I've tasted has been here. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Even if it is really hectic and busy, which it can get. It is very popular. The views over the river are lovely and in nice weather there is outside seating to enjoy too. Inside you have nice views and loads of local crafts and arty things you can buy as well. It just feels really welcoming. I have spent a fair bit of time sat there "working" on my laptop whilst enjoying a hot drink and some good grub. It is even dog friendly. So you can take your furry friend along to enjoy the atmosphere too. I would recommend this place any time. It even has better opening hours than a lot of places in Torpoint. Well done Hearts. Recent update - Had their chicken club sandwich recently. It was delicious. All the ingredients were lovely and fresh and it came with some nice chips.

Nestled in a picturesque location, The Farriers is an ideal spot to refuel after a day of exploration. With its inviting outdoor seating, it’s perfect for enjoying the sunshine alongside your furry friends—many pups even get their own special treats! The menu features traditional favorites and some creative bakes that are sure to delight. After a refreshing walk through Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, I found the staff at The Farriers to be exceptionally welcoming and attentive.
Great cafe...lovely location. Food is excellent and staff friendly. Cakes are great. Also really good to see a small business looking at ways to reduce their environmental impact!

Brilliant place to get a bite to eat. Sitting outside in the sun with dogs around was really nice. A few of them got pup cups which is sweet to see. It’s very dog friendly which I like. All in all, great to get a bite while exploring the area. The food is also incredibly delicious. One star taken as we asked for something to be removed but was not. Meaning we had to pick away at the food. Not removing food as requested can cause issues when having dietary restrictions due to allergies for example. It seemed the woman taking the order has enough of the day. Other than that. Nothing to complain about 😊
Josh T — Google review
A single takeaway coffee costs > £6 due to being told we had to also purchase a reusable cup for £2.50. This is refunded if you return the cup later but we didn't plan to return and are not local. Would have been happy to use a biodegradable cup and disposed of it in a bin. Food menu also very limited. Location nice and quite a bit of outdoor seating.

*Update July 2024 This has quickly become one of our favourite spots to get out for a drive and a bit to eat. If we have been lazy and its gotten late, it may just be a tea and cake. If we have made plans we will fit in a lovely lunch. The staff are always amazing and seem unphased by how busy they get. You hear them chatting and helping each other out and it seems like a nice place to be part of a team. You can tell some of them are young and it may be their first jobs but they all deliver a great customer experience and seem happy to be at work. You can chat to them, they have a laugh and will go out their way to help if they can. This is lovely to see nowadays and just adds to the atmosphere in an already lovely setting. I have told so many people about the burger here and having had one, they have all agreed how good it is. The cakes are always different and always amazing. Well done The Farriers, long may you continue. * First review. 2022 An impromptu visit and a brilliant one. Best burger I have had in ages. After a long walk around the grounds of Edgcombe with everything starting to look very summery, I was very peckish. I ordered the burger and chips with a milkshake and it was honestly one of the nicest lunches out I've had in ages. The burger itself came with spicy mayo and salsa and I added bacon and cheese. The burger itself was a proper thick beef burger that seemed like it could have been homemade or at least from good source. It was just juicy mince and seasoning it seemed. The mayo I thought at much was a applied a bit heavy but in fact worked well with a few drops to but a chip or too in. The salsa I imagined to like KFC spicy tomato sauce but was in fact fresh finely diced tomato and salad salsa properly made. I am not a fan of tomato and my first instinct was to scoop this out. But it was presented to well I thought it give it a go. It was all great. Even the bacon and cheese was properly nice thick bacon and mature tasty cheese. It was the sort of burger where everything worked together to make it delicious. It seemed put together by a proper foodie. The milkshake was nice and the chips were lovely and crisp and fluffy. The service was quick as well. Very pleased with my lunch.

Burger and chips...oh my days! Carrot cake...best ever! I spent loads of time looking at the walls, stable booths and decor..it's so historically interesting and at the same time.on trend. Big outdoor seating area as well as the stables indoors. Staff were so friendly and provided our dog with fresh water and a fuss This is our weekend walk , meet and eat stop from now on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

After a spectacular, and chilly, walk to Cawsand and back via Mount Edgcumbe Country Park we popped into The Farriers for some refreshments. The young staff team were a delight. Very welcoming. The Farriers menu is tradional with some innovative bakes (if you are not worried about calories 😎) Our lunch (soup of the day and cheesy chips) was served quickly, delicious and piping hot. Prices were reasonable. Definately worth a look if you are planning a visit to Mount Edgcumbe. For families there is also a childrens space, cosy corner. Plus some larger tables which can accomodate groups. We sat inside as it was cold. There is plenty of outside seating. They are dog friendly too! It can get busy so l recommend you book a table if you are planning to eat inside.
Mike T — Google review
The staff seem totally uninterested in serving. Food was served BOILING hot and did not taste fresh at all. The mugs looked barely cleaned as they had bits of dirt around the rim. Waitress seemed passive aggressive the whole time while serving us. This place isn’t for me.

Millbrook Waterside Cafe is a delightful spot that has become a cherished destination for breakfast and lunch. The cafe boasts an inviting sea-themed decor that adds to its charm, while the stunning views of the marina create an idyllic backdrop for any meal. Diners rave about the delicious food options, including all-day breakfasts and pancakes, all offered at reasonable prices.
Been coming here for a breakfast at least once a year as part of the holiday treat. Normally by boat but due to weather decided to drive there. Easy parking and always a warm welcome from the staff. I thought the view was not going to be as good as we eat inside. However I was wrong. Front row seats to a great vista. The inside was decorated with a sea theme and was really unique and cool. Food and drinks were great and good value for money. Love coming here and will be back again next year. Many thanks.

Cafe
Eddystone Beach Cafe, located right on the beach, offers a quaint spot to grab a drink and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. While some visitors find the coffee quality average and note the absence of restroom facilities, many appreciate its great location, friendly staff, and affordable prices. The cafe has an interesting history as it closed in 1954 after its owner's unfortunate accident. Despite this closure, there are reports of sightings of a specter offering soup to passersby on the beach.
Great location right on the beach! Worth getting a hot or cold drink to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Amazing view. Polite, friendly staff. But this place is missing a brilliant opportunity to serve simple but quality food. Calamari and chips took 35 minutes to come even though there were only two other tables. The portion of chips were £2.50 had about 10 chips, and the calamari and chips was very greasy. Not expecting the world as appreciate its a cafe down a cliff, but there is such potential here and would be a go to spot if the simple things were done well.
Rebecca G — Google review
Love the area but the manager of the cafe was rude and unpleasant. Also stealing sand from the beach to fix his falling down walls to the cafe. Luckily my time was made amazing by adventure bay surf school. The owner Dan was great and helpful.
Steve L — Google review
Cute cafe to grab a drink on the beach. The coffee is a bit meh, as it’s just out of machines. And there’s NO loo facilities, so plan your visit accordingly.
Kylee K — Google review
My daughter hurt herself on the dangerous metal that had fallen out of the poorly made walls. There was a very young lad being asked to take sand from the beach to try and build the walls back up again. Wasn't a safe job for him to be doing unsupervised, or for customers or beach users! Shame that such a beautiful part of our area is being ruined, and our children's safety is at risk, by a man trying to make money!
Megan H — Google review
This cafe keeps using local kids to use beach sand to make cement and budget sea defences full of metal and broken pieces of wood. As the sea repeatedly breaks the wall it litters the beach. No environmental health, children under 16 working, absolute chaos and the owner is known for being cantankerous and rude to anyone he’s not trying to get £££ out of. Avoid.
Georgia O — Google review
We booked a surf school lesson for my son at the beach. With the cafe next door it was the obvious place to stop and spend money while my son had his lesson. We put our bags at a beach picnic table outside and my son began to get changed for his lesson. The owner came out shouting that he didn’t get on with the surf school and we were not welcome. He then went around interrogating the other customers asking if they were connected to the surf school. I had intended to spend the hour of my sons lesson with some lunch and a drink from the cafe. However the rude and aggressive manner of the owner put me right off the idea. It’s not a customers fault if business owners have disagreements with each other and a polite request to move and an explanation would have probably meant they would have retained my custom.
Kate O — Google review
Apparently the cafe closed in 1954 after the owner fell down the cliffs whilst going for soup supplies. Visitors to the beach report sightings of a spectre running across the sands offering soup to any souls that pass that way. Great location, friendly staff and inexpensive, well worth the trek down the hill. 😀

A mobile coffee stand offering friendly service, great barista coffee, superbly designed sustainable coffee flasks for travel, amongst other things. I nominate this for the new small business of 2021 awards!

We loved the fresh Brazilian taste of Zinns coffee, it's heavenly. We had lattes with hazelnut syrup, and the most gooiest chocolate brownie ever, it was lush. Very friendly chap and a really nice, different idea. Fab.

Broomhill Tearoom is a charming tearoom conveniently located near the woodland car park. The staff, particularly Sam and Jane, are incredibly warm and welcoming. They provide excellent and efficient service with a constant smile, even during closing time. The tearoom offers an extensive selection of decaffeinated teas and coffees, as well as delightful cream teas that won't upset those with GORD or IBD. The scones are always fresh, while the cakes look absolutely tempting.
A lovely, relaxing tearoom, just a short walk away from the woodland car park. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, particularly Sam and Jane. Excellent, quick service, always with a smile, even when we call in just before closing! Nothing is too much trouble. Superb decaff tea and coffees and the best cream teas I've had (never upsets my GORD or IBD, unlike some places). The scones are so fresh! Cakes look wonderful too. Very reasonable pricing. There's a good choice of indoor and outdoor seating plus they are very dog friendly. Baby changing facilities are excellent. Love this place!

If you pass by, don't miss the cornish cream tea experience. Sit outside during a lovely weather, remember to put jam first.

Visited this lovely little tea room on Tuesday afternoon. Beautiful sunny day, we sat in the garden. Stunning setting, very welcoming staff and we had paninis which were delicious. Followed by a lovely latte with oat milk. Will definitely return soon. Even had the pleasure of a little Robin

Beautiful cottage set within the gorgeous Antony House Estate (part of the National Trust.) We came slightly out of season and had no trouble getting a table. We sat upstairs where we could enjoy the countryside views whilst indulging in a Cornish Cream Tea (large, delicious scones with plenty jam and clotted cream!) Staff were very accommodating, even offering to make us a pannini even though the hot food service had stopped. Cosy little rooms, nooks and crannies, to enjoy the best cuppa I've had all week, they even had a bookshelf crammed with books for you to enjoy whilst relaxing! A must visit if you're in the Milbrook/Antony/Torpoint and surrounding areas!

We had a lovely homemade vegetable soup with the cheese toastie option today and a proper pot of tea for 2, sat beside the wood burner which was nice and warm and not smelly. Tina and Jane were excellent hosts warm and friendly and pationate about the cafe.

Lovely tearoom, open Tuesday to Sunday, closed Monday, unless Bank Holiday. Perfect place to come, after a walk, dogs are welcome. When Antony House and the Woodland Gardens are closed this lovely Broomhill tearoom is open.
