The Bauer Kitchen offers a refined dining experience with creative cocktails and gourmet comfort food. The restaurant features a diverse menu including soups, salads, pizza, burgers, bowls, pasta, and main courses. Guests can also enjoy gluten-friendly and plant-based options such as fritters, wings, nachos, and main courses.
We recently went to the Bauer Kitchen for dinner and it was our first time there and won’t be our last! For drinks - I had the blood orange spritz and it was refreshing. All the food we had was really good. The spinach dip came with flatbread and chips to dip and was great for sharing. The almond crusted salmon had gnocchi surrounding it on top of a sweet corn sauce which was something I never tried before and was really good paired with the salmon. The beef tenderloin was cooked to medium and was soft and tender. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious - the cake was fluffy with toffee sauce and vanilla bean ice cream which really balanced everything out.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience at The Bauer Kitchen. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the friendly and accommodating service—the staff truly made us feel welcome. We chose to sit outside on the patio, and it turned out to be the perfect decision. The sunny weather and relaxed ambiance added so much to our meal. The patio was beautiful, clean, and had just the right atmosphere for a lovely afternoon. Now, the food—absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was perfectly balanced in flavor and beautifully presented. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Overall, we left feeling happy, full, and looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food, top-notch service, and a perfect patio setting.

We celebrated our friend’s birthday at The Bauer Kitchen today, and it was a wonderful experience! The ambience was warm and inviting, and the place had a great vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish we ordered was full of flavor and served in generous portions. Overall, a fantastic spot for a celebration or a night out with friends. Highly recommended!

Amazing birthday brunch! My dad took me for a nice birthday Brunch today. I had the steak and eggs, my dad had the salmon Benedict. This meal was nothing short of perfect! The Espresso Martinis were *chefs kiss*. Highly recommend The Bauer Kitchen for your next meal! Beautiful patio, beautiful interior and wonderful serving staff & Hostess! Jessica is fabulous!! Ps. Your Kitchen Staff deserve some love cause they absolutely killed it and provided a delicious meal!

We had such a great experience at Bauer Kitchen! Their vegan menu is really comprehensive and impressive, and the non-vegan options were just as good. This was a date night for two — one vegan and one non-vegan — and both of our meals were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere made the evening feel really special. Highly recommend!

Birthday dinner with THE BEST server Kenzie! She overheard my friend mention that his favourite cake is carrot cake & she specifically brought it out for him. She was super thoughtful and helpful all night, which made the great atmosphere even better. The food and drinks were also delicious!

So I went here with my gym friends last night for dinner, July 10 @ 6:30 p.m. Our waiter, Sean was great, we got seated immediately. Two of us had the Sweet Butcher Pizza, one had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the other one had Roasted Chicken Campanella. All were absolutely delicious. Two of us had the Red Sangria so refreshing on a hot day, which I highly recommend. It was a large glass and we finished ours! Service, ambience and food was good. Finally we sat out on the patio all in all a good night. We will be back!

PUBLIC Kitchen & Bar is a retro-elegant bistro located in Kitchener, offering creative tapas, cocktails, old world wines, and Ontario craft beers. Despite its small size, the restaurant has become a popular spot with eclectic decor and a menu featuring dishes like confit of Cornish hen with cherry tomatoes and pan jus.
My husband and I have dined here a few times for special occasions and we have yet to be disappointed with this place! The food has always been delicious and the service has always been excellent. The oyster special on Wednesdays is a fantastic deal. They don't serve as many condiments as they used to, but the oysters are so good that they're better enjoyed on their own with a little squeeze of lemon. The only thing I will say needs improvement is the lighting. We had to use the light from our cell phones to read the menu because it is incredibly dark and impossible to do so without.

This place was amazing! Do not judge a book by its cover…I wasn’t sure based on the outside, but it is a vibe! My husband and I went for date night and it did not disappoint! We love sharing plates and we were able to try many dishes. The food was well balanced and seasoned well. We loved the diversity of dishes. Joseph was an amazing waiter! There wasn’t any real problems and he took care of us. The drinks were so well balanced. My husband said the mocktails were the best he’s had. I had the blue martini and loved the hint of lavender! I did not have a drink that tasted like flowers. We were blown away with the service, food, and ambiance. If we are back in Kitchener, we would definitely come back!

Wednesday night's are (currently) buck-a-shuck where you can get $1 oysters or $2 oysters. We went with $1 oysters and copped two dozen. We wish they had more condiments, but the lemon and hot sauce were fine. In addition to the oysters we got their smoked salmon app, daily pasta and scallops. Everything tasted pretty good and we didn't have any complaints. I wouldn't say this meal was exceptional by any means, but we left satisfied. A solid 7.1, but not sure if we'd have to come back. #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot

My girlfriend (at the time) and I attended the first Anthony Bourdain Crush Thursday two years ago, and we still talk about that night. Fast forward to this past Thursday: my now fiancée and I were able to attend again, and it felt meant to be — our first date night since our son was born. I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience. The menu was phenomenal: early dishes set the tone perfectly, while the rest took us through nostalgia, umami bombs, and fresh, balanced flavours, all curated with so much intention. (I could have easily eaten ten plates of the sisig & roasted bone marrow) There were a few returning dishes from last time, in the best way. I was so happy to see Public bring back the “Ripper” dog — whoever complained about it last time should get off their high horse and appreciate how brilliantly it celebrates a legend. Ben, our server, made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. At the end of the night — since my fiancée hadn’t been able to have oysters (one of our favourite foods) for the last nine months — I asked Jack if there was any way to get just two oysters to cap off our meal. Without hesitation, there were two waiting on our table before I even sat back down. We left completely stuffed and somehow still wanting more. Thank you to the entire team at Public for an unforgettable evening and for continuing to honour a true culinary legend.

I love all of public’s food, but the ghost kitchen they run called Gords Burgers might be my favourite. The attached photo does not do it justice. Available for seating at the bar or takeout only. It’s hard to say it’s the best burger I’ve ever had, but I can’t remember having a better one. The fries are also very good. You won’t have a bad experience if you are eating off their regular menu either. Staff is very friendly. 10/10 would recommend.

Incredible every time I go. The staff are friendly and very careful about dietary restrictions. They are excellent at providing recommendations when asked, and build a great rapport through the meal. The food is always excellently prepared, regardless of whether it is a regular tapas night or one of their specialty nights. I highly recommend their chef’s choice option if you’ve got a bit extra to spend - what an incredible experience!

5 stars on all fronts. The food is exceptional. Perfect sharing plates, which just means I get to try more dishes! The service is top-notch. Zero complaints. The atmosphere, although a bit deceiving from the outside, is extremely cozy, warm and inviting inside. Truly a gem. 💎 Can’t wait to go back.

This place was worth every nickel and dime spent. From our entrance to our exit, the staff at PUBLIC Kitchen & Bar were very accommodating, highly knowledgeable about their menu, and and fully deserving of a 5-star rating. I would highly recommend you give this place a shot. You'll be glad you did. This restaurant is best experienced with 4+ people - in my opinion - due to the sharing atmosphere. Thank you, PUBLIC Kitchen & Bar - I shall return!

Borealis Grille & Bar in Kitchener is a contemporary restaurant that prides itself on offering locally sourced American dishes, creative cocktails, and craft brews. This establishment is known for its dedication to the farm-to-table movement, showcasing Kitchener-Waterloo's agricultural heritage through the use of local and sustainable ingredients.
Delicious food and stellar service! We visited Borealis Grille & Bar in Kitchener today for a belated birthday celebration for our son. The restaurant had a great vibe and atmosphere. We sat inside, but the patio looked nice from the large wall of windows. All of the staff were warm and welcoming, and our server, Luigi, was exceptional! He was very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu. He had a good sense of humour and seemed to enjoy interacting with guests, even as the restaurant became busier. The menu offered locally sourced options and a variety of selections, including gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan choices. We ordered Barrie’s Farm Nachos, Blackened Chicken Taco Salads, and Cheddar Burgers. The prices were reasonable with good portion sizes. The food was delicious, timely, and well-presented and the homemade iced tea was refreshing. Overall, we had a great experience and will visit again when in the area. Thanks again for birthday wishes Luigi! Cheers! Luana :)

We went on a night when they were super busy and extremely short staffed! They had all hands on deck for serving and these poor folks were still running around trying to service everyone. I can only imagine how busy the kitchen staff was if they were short staffed as well. The trout was way over cooked and the braised cabbage had an off taste. We let our waitress know that they were uneatable and she immediately offered to replace the meal and not charge us. That was unexpected but graciously accepted!

Had a wonderful dinner with a good friend. We’ve been here before and LOVED our food and had to go back. We were told they have the best burgers around so I had to try it this time. Unfortunately the burger was pretty dry but my parmesan fries were amazing. My friends mushroom rigatoni was also amazing. The old school house was also super cool!
Melanie W — Google review
We tried this place a few years ago and had a terrible experience with the food, but really wanted to try it again as I don’t believe that any place should be defined by a single experience. My wife and I want to lead this by saying that our waiter, Luigi, really played a major factor in our overall experience. He was attentive, helpful, fair, and full of energy. Luigi is worth the trip regardless of the rest of the review. That’s being said, there were issues with our dining experience. The over arching theme was the food was flat, mainly because it was all under seasoned. The quality of the ingredients are very good, but they need to be seasoned much better. The Spinach Ricotta dip didn’t come with any caramelized onions as it was advertised, which we didn’t realize until we got home looking at the menu for this review. Our dip was just ricotta and spinach. We ordered a Strawberry mojito, which was absolutely delicious, and my wife ordered from the blood orange margarita from the special menu. When it came to the table, the margarita was a canned drink, not made in house, which wasn’t disclosed on the menu and was $13. Thankfully, Luigi was incredibly understanding and brought out a strawberry mojito for my wife which we were very grateful for and she very much enjoyed. For Entrees, my wife ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the prime rib. The fish was battered well, but the coleslaw portion was incredibly skimpy and very flat. I believe it was an oil based slaw, but lacked the vinegar to balance it so it didn’t balance as nicely with the fish as we had hoped. The dill tartar sauce was delicious though. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. An absolutely perfect medium rare which was amazing. The horseradish was also fantastic, which sounds weird to say, but I found myself loading more and more on as it didn’t have the intense nostril sting I typically get from horseradish. Despite the perfect cook and delicious horseradish, I still found the prime rib was heavily under seasoned and so were the vegetables, but the mash potatoes were very good and fairly well seasoned. The ingredients they use for their food are top quality and it’s very obvious when you get your food, but they need to be more generous with seasoning. Dessert was delicious. We got the Apple crumble and it was exactly what we wanted from it. The apples were very well spiced, the texture from the oatmeal was great, and the vanilla ice cream was just right. We were very happy with our sweet treat. After coming back to try Borealis again, it’s hard to justify coming back after spending $150 on our bill and the food being underwhelming despite the potential. This place has all the right ingredients (pun intended) to be the real deal. High quality service, high quality ingredients, but falls short of its potential. I want to like this restaurant so badly but the food is the most important thing for me for that reason it’ll be a while before we decide to visit again.

We went to Borealis for the first time last night for my birthday dinner date night special the food, service and atmosphere on the patio were all amazing and the food blew us away! We started with antojitis that were the best we have both ever eaten anywhere! For mains we had the mushroom rigatoni and fish and chips the pasta was to die for and my boyfriend really liked the fish as well we were too full to enjoy our desserts there but took them home with us and ate them later on that night everything from the service to the atmosphere to the food was amazing! Totally recommend giving this place a try you will not be disappointed!!!! Thanks for a wonderful experience!!
Kate H — Google review
The restaurant has very fancy set up. The food are mixed feelings. The bacon flatbread is delicious and buttermilk fried chicken is fantastic. The lamb sirloin tastes plain . The steak frites and Fish/chip are ok not given us outstanding feels. The most disappointed is the pea sprouts are not fresh . One of reason we choose this restaurant is because of local farm ingredients . We expect all would be fresh!
Mark L — Google review
Food was good, nice presentation. Their menu is not typical and they advertise locally sourced food which is what guided the choice to dine. Kale Caesar salad did not disappoint. As a meal, I got the lamb with lentils and mashed - thought lentils could have been cooked a bit longer but meal was good overall. Weather is still nice so we chose to sit outside on the patio. Service is hard to comment on because I think it really depends on your individual server. We thought since the restaurant wasn't terribly busy that service would have been a bit more prompt. I would definitely try this spot again.
Kiki K — Google review
Borealis offered an unmatched dining experience compared to anywhere else I've dined thanks to host and server, Luigi. Most places offer a standard dining service - pleasantries, good service to deliver food. Luigi provides dining entertainment like I've never experienced before - a social/interactive visit, stories, jokes, and overall attentive service. The food was excellent, and I loved learning about all the local selections incorporated into the menu.

3rd time here and loved it. The fried chicken is my favorite. This time around we had Jon as our waiter and he was awesome. He answered all our questions and went above and beyond to make my belated birthday lunch with my girls extra special. Buy some of the pork rub. It's delicious on everything! Even would be delicious on popcorn! Can't wait to come back.

I always hate giving bad reviews, but I think it’s important to be honest. The food was great - but unfortunately for me and my friends it was cold We put in an order an hour advance for pickup, and when we got home half of the order wasn’t there. Thankfully the manager was understanding, and managed to deliver the other half of our order. But by then it had been 2 hours and all of it was cold. I understand that it’s busy Friday nights, but with the hour wait for pickup it’s not really an excuse :(
Ellie W — Google review
Delicious but way better when it's fresh! Had this place twice recently. The first time we ate it immediately and it was delicious. The second time we picked up and drove it home it was not as good from sitting through the drive. The amount of food you get is pretty decent. Only complaint is how small the mac and cheese is. It's treated like gold at BBQ places. You get a ton of cornbread and fries though. All the meat when it was fresh was delicious. Moist and tasty. I would ask for extra sauce on the side for some stuff if you like saucy. The ribs ended up a little more chewy when they sat for a bit, but still very good.

Friendly staff. Delicious food. Nice classic rock music. Couldn't ask for more. Prices a bit high but reasonable for what you get (both quantity and quality). Most of the meals are slightly too big for one person. The 2 meat platter could feed two people (I got a to-go container and had lunch the next day). Definitely recommend you check this out.

Visited on a busy Saturday night , they were hosting a wedding party upstairs. This place has outstanding food and service. Parking is limited as it's a busy spot. We reserved a table ahead of time as we were a bigger group. They were ready for our group ahead.of time which is rare at some establishments we've found. Steve P. was our server. He took care of our table of 11 as well as another table of 10 and other tables surrounding and didn't miss a beat. He was super friendly and seems like a genuinely nice guy, always smiling laughing and engaging with our table. No issues with ordering and separating bills for the couples and he had everything always organized. Lots of craft beers , we tried a few new ones for us which were great. The food came up quickly which great the tastes were amazing, totally met our expectations of a smoke house. Everything was so good!!( Getting hungry writing this review. )my wife loved the glazed charred brussel sprouts! Lots of food with great flavours. They are ready with containers for our left overs. We definitely will be back again soon. Thanks for a great experience!
Mark S — Google review
I have been here probably 10 years and this place has been a must to go place with my meat-lover friends. last week’s experience worths a post: I ordered my usual item 3 meat platter, with their signature premium brisket. One piece of them is burnt, probably from the edge of the brisket. Once we showed to the them, they bring new ones without hesitation and saying that’s not their normal level and really sorry about that. I was only expecting to get one piece replaced but they bring 4 pieces! With this spirit I am sure this restaurant will last many other10 years and remain popular. Food: over the 10 years I have to say their rib level has decreased slightly. Now they are slightly overcooked and dried. And if the sauce can be on the side, it would be great. Just personal flavor thing since their sauce is heavy and sometimes too salty. However, still no other restaurants could beat them in KW region…
Jack Y — Google review
This was my first time at this place. I like to try places 3 times to be able to honestly judge the overall quality. So, with that being typed. The food was bomb. My order of brisket was awesome and tender but was slightly overcooked. It didn't have that classic, beautiful pink smoke ring. It was gray throughout. The bbq sauce was delicious. The ribs were super tender, and the garlic sausage was dope also! The place was a nice spot, casual with a classic bbq spot feel. Portions were a HEALTHY quantity, and that says a lot with my appetite. Their mac 'n' chz was on point as was their red beans and rice, a proper creole dish. I will definitely go back again, cause I think our first time was a one-off experience. Parking is tight, and reservations are recommended. Money well spent and leftovers are a great snack/meal the next day. Im trying to be honest and leave my personal feelings out of this cause I want your experience to be your own without being influenced otherwise.

Massive servings. Premium meats. Ample sides. Lively atmosphere with great live music. Efficient & friendly service. We have big appetites as it is, but last Friday evening we were completely starving so we ordered the 5 Meats Platter for just the two of us. On our platter was brisket, pulled pork, ribs, smoked wings, and sausage; four large sides of tater tots, dilly coleslaw, baked beans, and braised collard greens; and five pieces of cornbread with which to mop it all up! Everything was absolutely delicious. I recommend the "Fullilove" hot BBQ sauce if you get the wings. The portions were impressive; they did not skimp on a thing. We did, of course, end up with leftovers which we were all too happy to enjoy the following day at home.

What a great restaurant, from the prosciutto wrapped Barrata appy to the main course beef and blue steak and the thurston Howell steak, we’re all DELICIOUS, nothing bad to say about any of it. On top of the great food, the general manager and assistant manager both came up to us to ask if we needed anything. The ambience of the place is upbeat and fun. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favour and make reservations to eat here. Will definitely be back. 6☀️ across the board if I could,

I've dined here a couple of times to celebrate special occasions and enjoyed my experience each time. The service is great and the food is fantastic! Each dish is perfectly cooked and incredibly flavourful. If I had to critique one thing, I would say that the miso cod dish is a bit too heavy on the strong flavours and can feel slightly overwhelming, but the fish itself is cooked so beautifully that I'm willing to overlook that. It is one of their pricier dishes though, so tread carefully if you're not a risk-taker. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I'll definitely be back!

Wildcraft Grill in Waterloo is an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was inviting and elegantly cozy, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. As the host checked on a table for us, another team member swiftly ensured we were being assisted—such seamless and courteous service. The wine selection was exceptional, with our knowledgeable server offering tastings of their latest varieties, making the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the boneless spare back ribs, a gluten-free masterpiece served on velvety mashed potatoes, and they were succulent, tender, and bursting with flavor. The asparagus was incredibly fresh and vibrant, as if it had just been picked moments before being served. The Penne with prawns from the gluten-friendly menu was equally indulgent, with its zesty and satisfying flavors. For standout appetizer, the spicy sweet potato fries delivered the perfect balance of heat and sweetness, while the honey crisp salad with fresh apples added a refreshing and aromatic touch. Beyond the phenomenal food, the charming ambiance made the experience even more enjoyable. Our server was attentive, personable, and accommodating, ensuring every detail was perfect—including a thoughtful and complimentary dessert to end the night on a high note. Wildcraft Grill is truly a sophisticated gem, offering fantastic service, an intimate atmosphere, and mouthwatering dishes that make you want to return again and again.

We reserved the Studio room to celebrate my wife’s retirement. From planning the event with the coordinator to the evening of the event, the staff at Wildcraft was excellent. The service throughout the evening was outstanding. The servers were attentive and prompt. The food was amazing and our guests commented on the quality of the food and service! We can’t thank the staff at Wildcraft enough and would highly recommend it!

Vegetarian friendly, service was good. We had a large party in a private room which was nice. Food was a bit salty and slow to come. One of the steaks had to be reheated - came out cold

This place was amazing! The food was to die for and really flavorful. I got the Alex brined chicken and I will definitely be coming back again for it. The staff was amazing and attentive to our table. The kids menu is also amazing as they get a little veggie plate appetizer included in their meal as well as a build your own sundae. They even have a separate vegan menu as well.

The restaurant has a beautiful dining area and a great atmosphere. We ended up ordering the blue Steak, filet mignon, New York steak, beef carpaccio and calamari. All the flavours were ok, and there wasn't really anything that had a wow factor. Great for the experience though!

It was a great restaurant and great food but the area that really stood out for me was the service! Kyle was our server and he was EXCEPTIONAL! He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was the mixologist that created some of their signature cocktails. He was engaging and funny and enhanced the whole experience! My suggestion to the owners and management team of Proof - give this man a raise! :)

OUR DRINKS AND FISH N CHIPS WERE DELICIOUS! BOTH THE GLUTEN-FREE & STANDARD PORTIONS WERE HUGE!! We ordered our drinks just before 5 and were thrilled to be extended the Happy Hour discount from the bar! THE STAFF WERE DELIGHTFUL, EFFICIENT AND MADE OUR EXPERIENCE LOVELY. We waited a little long to be noticed and seated when the place was quiet inside. Actually had to step in to get someone's attention. High top table chairs are near impossible to pull yourself into the table with and our table was so wobbly we had to ask for it to be adjusted. Having to leave the restaurant to get to the bathroom to wash your hands etc before/during your dining experience is a little frustrating and odd to return back to your seat through the entrance past folks waiting to be seated.

This is an updated review. Second time here! So lovely, we celebrate our friend graduation here. We are a group of 8 friends that come for occasion here and enjoyed the atmosphere here. We plan to come more often as we pleased with the service. Thank you Proof team! First time: I spent an afternoon with friends here and enjoyed a dessert with chai. There are many Vega options as well for dinner as well, but I will keep it for the next time.

went here for dinner last night and it was okay The restaurant itself is very clean and it’s very nice inside with the dimmed lights . The outside area looks very nice as well. Started off with the grilled calamari and it was different for sure, I wasn’t a big fan of it but it was alright I got the Original Burger I think that’s what they call it and it was very good, Good flavouring on it and it was a decent size burger too. The fries as well were very good and definitely some of the better fries i’ve had at a restaurant. I would say the biggest thing that really kinda ruined the dinner was the amount of flies and bugs that were flying around us all night, I understand that it is hard to control that as it is basic nature but it definitely was something that was getting gross as they would land around the food and the drinks Definitely a place I would go for drinks with some friends if I drank 5/10

From the welcoming smiles at arrival throughout our dinner, service was outstanding. Appetizers were superb including new on the menu: Fried Burrata Pomodoro. Loved the Chimichurri Salmon + Fresh Couscous Salad, Fish Tacos, and Butter Chicken Curry.

Located inside Delta Hotels Waterloo where we were staying at. Service and atmosphere was good. A lot of seating options to choose from (weather was nice so we chose patio). Food was pretty good (they use a lot of butter), but we didn’t feel the portions were great. The house (white) wine was very meh — had very little taste like it was watered down (to clarify: I’m not saying it was watered down, but that’s the best way to describe the lack of flavor in the wine that we had)

Visited Proof Lounge around 5pm on a Monday. The restaurant was not yet busy & the service was quick and breezy. Enjoyed a Matcha Martini & The Nosh to start, the matcha drink was incredible & as someone who doesn’t love olives, they were marinated and very tasty in the appetizer. For an entrée we got the Wild Mushroom Ravioli & Chimichurri Salmon with some of the best couscous I’ve ever had. Overall service was great, food & drinks were tasty and the atmosphere was lovely but a tad bright!

Brunch restaurant
Nestled within the historic 1893 Walper Hotel, TWH Social is a chic bistro that beautifully marries modern decor with a rich narrative of local history, including tales of Al Capone's liquor smuggling. This culinary gem offers an array of inventive dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients, ensuring each plate tells a story.
Got the roasted chicken dish and it was delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the pistachio gremolata was so flavourful, and normally my opinion on brussels sprouts is meh (I’ll eat them when provided but never really love them) - I’m not sure what sorcery they used to cook these ones but I could have eaten a plateful. Our server was attentive and checked in to make sure we were happy several times and our water was refilled as soon as our cups were low. Very cool speak-easy type of atmosphere as well.

Review of TWH Social and Bistro, Kitchener , ON TWH Social and Bistro offers a delightful dining experience that stands out in kitchener, ON. The food quality was truly exceptional, with every dish prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor. You can tell the chefs take pride in their craft. The atmosphere is another highlight—cozy, warm, and inviting, making it a great spot for an intimate dinner or a casual night out. However, the cost of dining here is on the higher side, and the portion sizes are quite small, which might leave you wanting more if you’re used to larger servings. Despite this, the overall experience was wonderful. If you’re looking for a place that combines great food with a cozy ambiance, TWH Social and Bistro is worth a visit—just be prepared for a premium price tag.

You know when people say "it was the best"...whatever..."I've ever had!?"! This CALAMARI! So unique and definitely top three ever! Thick cut and the fried little extras are the best. Collective Arts IPA is better most days than most mixed drinks, for me. And the salt...touch nice on the oysters, but a little much overall. Enjoyed a full meal before the show. Great Friday night out with friends!

We had both breakfast and dinner at TWH Social, and every part of the experience was exceptional. From the service to the food, this place goes above and beyond. For dinner, our server CARLE was incredible—attentive, professional, and effortlessly warm. He even made us custom drinks that weren’t on the menu, just to suit our tastes. The food? Absolutely unforgettable. I ordered the short rib, and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had—tender, rich, and full of flavor. My mom had the burger, and said it was hands-down the best she’s ever eaten: juicy, perfectly seasoned, and better than anything we’ve ordered elsewhere. To top it off, CHEF JOSH AITCHISON came out to speak with us after the meal and surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake and raspberry purée. That personal touch meant the world. Breakfast the next morning was just as lovely. Our server, SURYA, had never made a London Fog before, but she gave it a shot—and it turned out to be the best I’ve ever had. Since they were out of vanilla syrup, she used coconut instead, and it was honestly perfect. TWH Social blends upscale food, warm hospitality, and personal attention in a way that’s incredibly rare. Whether you’re there for a casual morning coffee or a full fine-dining experience, you’ll leave feeling completely taken care of—and already wanting to come back.

From the moment we arrived at Walper Hotel, the experience was fantastic. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, setting the tone for a great visit. We were actually in town for Oktoberfest but didn’t realize it was scheduled for the following week. Still, the energy of the place was perfect, and we decided to dine at TWH Social, the hotel’s restaurant, after passing by. We had the chance to chat with the sous chef, who was more than happy to recommend a few dishes. Their recommendations definitely did not disappoint! When we returned for dinner, the place was buzzing with energy, but we were still well taken care of. Our server, Krista, was outstanding. She was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also incredibly friendly and bubbly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I had asked for a phone charger, and she went out of her way to find the right one for me, which was a thoughtful touch. The service was top-notch, and I would highly recommend Walper Hotel and TWH Social to anyone. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We had a great experience here on Sunday night! Our servers name started with a K- (I'm sorry I don't remember your name!) she was outstanding. Her warm hospitality and her knowledge and reassurance about my dietary restrictions was very much appreciated. I have symptomatic celiac disease and these folks accomodated me with gorgeous gluten free options! We started with the oysters, followed by Caesar salads (thanks for the mods, Chef, we really really appreciate it!) and then we split the short rib. That short rib. Honestly one of the best meat dishes I've ever had. Like really incredible. Kudos to the kitchen and our lovely server. Great job! Thank you for a very enjoyable evening!

I came here with a friend for Saturday brunch, and we honestly had such a great time. We started with espresso martinis and a Hemingway daiquiri, and both were amazing. The food came out just right, and the service was super smooth and friendly. Thanks to Dhansh for taking such good care of us — we’ll definitely be coming back soon!

I’ve been coming to TWH Social for over 10 years and always enjoyed the great staff, atmosphere, and service. Unfortunately, it’s clear that ownership has changed and with it, the experience has gone downhill. The staff were friendly but completely inexperienced. Our server forgot our wine, and we had to remind her after our appetizers arrived. When she finally brought the bottle, it was with dirty wine glasses. We had to ask her to bring new ones. When she brought new ones, she poured nearly 15 oz into one glass, we actually had to explain to her how to pour wine properly. Later, another server came out to ask if we wanted to order more food since the kitchen was closing, yet we still hadn’t even received our mains. When the entrées did arrive, all 4 steaks (a $50 item) was cold. It’s frustrating to see such a long-standing Kitchener gem lose its quality. With the previous longtime staff all gone, the TWH Social I used to know and recommend just isn’t the same anymore.

Korner Kitchen Breakfast & Lunch Eatery is a diner with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The food is hearty, and the service is great. Kelsey was amazing and made sure we were taken care of despite the busyness of the morning. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch!
It was a nice place that was well decorated, both the counter and seating area. I got a vegetarian omelette with oatmeal and a vegetarian skillet with beans, both of which were quite good. The skillet had scrambled eggs that were mixed eggs like an omelette but not broken up, which I actually prefer. The brown bread was quite good and buttered nicely. The beans were seasoned well and delicious. It was a good experience in both food and ambiance.

Stopped by for lunch while we were in Waterloo. The parking lot was full but there was no wait for a table. The server was very friendly and checked in on us throughout our stay. Love the fact that they serve all day breakfast and lunch. Their portion size is very generous, so come hungry! We ordered the crab cake (the outside of crispy and inside was soft, it was seasoned a bit strong with black pepper), Berry Crepe (it was refreshing to see how much fruits they packed into the crepe, it came with whipped cream and syrup on the side), Pacific Benedict with fruit bowl (overall good), Grilled Vegetable Panini and coleslaw (the bread was nicely toasted and loaded with lightly seasoned grilled vegetables and goat cheese), and the kid's breakfast (a huge portion for $7!).

I visited Korner Kitchen for brunch and had the Fiesta Skillet with over-easy eggs and a cold brew. The food was decent and nothing extraordinary, but solid diner fare. The decor blends fancy and casual, with a polished vibe but still the comfort of diner booths. It’s a great spot for a relaxed brunch, though not a standout experience.

Langdon Hall Country House Hotel & Spa is an elegant estate located in Cambridge, just a short drive from Toronto. The property features 12 km of walking trails, lush gardens, and a full-service spa. Chef Jason Bangerter emphasizes the resort's farm-to-table ethos by using produce straight from the garden in the dining room. The century-old historic summer estate offers Old World luxury with amenities such as an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and award-winning dining sourced from onsite Victorian gardens.
We had a lovely getaway at Langdon Hall for an overnight and wine tasting. Check- in went very smooth and we arrived at lunch and headed to pool to relax and have lunch poolside. Service and food poolside was very good. Only complaints about whole stay is the pool itself. The pools is small and although we saw them testing water twice while there they clearly need some help on pool chemistry as well the pool fountain is plugged in places so it does not work as well and there were pylons at the stairs that two workers then came and started to work on. They should invest before next season in an overhaul and revisit how to care for water. Wine tasting was Italian themed and enjoyed it but would have appreciated chance to order some cheese or other items to pair vs potato chips provided as palate cleanser. Dinner in the dining room was spectacular from food to service. Our room was lovely and bed super comfortable. Breakfast was very good as well. Husband did the garden tour and really enjoyed it. Overall will definitely be back with a hope the pool will be better next time we come during summer season.

This is a belated review, but well deserved. I've been to Langdon hall on several occasions to dine, stay over and enjoy the spa. I booked a reservation this past January during a promotion for a friend and I to go on Sunday March 17th, spend the night, spa and have dinner. Two days before our reservation, I realized I had accidentally made the reservation for Sunday February 17th, and additionally, didn't send the final email with my credit card expiry date which is why I didn't get the final confirmation email. I called in a panic, and explained what I had done, the staff (Maya) was so incredibly understanding and they still had room for the date we wanted so she booked us in for the promotional rate that I thought I booked in January. When we arrived, (2 exhausted moms in much need of a mini break) Josh greeted us at the front desk. He told us he heard about the mix up and wanted to make sure we had a great time so he upgraded us to a suite. Langdon Hall takes care of you! Our stay was amazing, the food was outstanding, and the spa treatments top notch. They even boxed up a couple pastries for my kiddos at the breakfast table the next day. Highly recommend! Josh and Maya - apologies for the overdue review and well deserved shout out, I'll be back soon!

I did not stay overnight but I am sure the rooms are lovely. Everything about this place is lovely, the building, the decor, the service and the ambience. I took my husband and my best friend for Tea there a couple of weeks ago and as we were early we took a walk around the garden. WOW this is a beautifully kept garden. The service was very attentive and made you feel welcomed. The food of the tea service was very good, I especially liked the lobster in the salad leaf and the little smoked salmon cube. It was so cute and tasty. My husband thought I was crazy for driving all the way from Toronto to Cambridge for tea, but he was glad we did, as he enjoyed the day.

I cannot express how grateful for I am to be able experience chef Jason’s culinary journey. Couldnt be more satisfied than this. Dont hesitate book this place for your very next occasion. Exceptional Lunch Experience. From start to finish, our lunch was nothing short of outstanding. The service was top notch-Hannah, our server, was warm, attentive, and made the entire experience enjoyable. The food? Absolutely out of this world. Every dish was beautifully plated, with presentation that showed true care and creativity. But it wasn't just about looks the flavours were incredible, layered, and perfectly balanced. You could tell that real passion went into every element of the meal. Highly recommend, and can’t wait to return.

Everything was fantastic! My wife and I try to come at least once a year to relax and this year was the best stay so far. The food is the main reason we come to Langdon Hall. We had the Grand tasting one night and the Discovery the next. Tyler was a stand out server. He really made the meals special. The Grand Tasting was one of the best meals we have ever had. The pool service is attentive without being intrusive. I highly recommend spending some time by the pool.

Staying at Langdon Hall was a very enjoyable and pleasant experience for my partner, Mackenzie, and I. Our purpose for staying there was multifold, including being a getaway during our wedding weekend, as well as being proximal to our event venue. This was our first time staying at Langdon Hall, and we were very impressed by many of the complimentary services offered by the property, including valley and luggage service, the impressive array of amenities available within the room and the amenities available on the property, some of which we were able to enjoy including the pool, and the dining room. We appreciated the reservations coordinator reaching out to us months in advance of the reservation to confirm additional details, and we were impressed that the many staff members who we interacted with during our stay seem to be aware of our personal milestone and took the time to congratulate us on this. The room was in impeccable condition which we really appreciated as it was at the end of a long day for us, and we immediately took to the comfort of the room. We appreciated that the pool was just a walk away and we weren't disturbed even though we stayed there just a short bit after the closing time. Our dining experience in the dining room for supper was also very enjoyable. All of the staff members who waited on us during the dinner service, were polite, well-informed and friendly. We had arranged to rent the Spire room for getting ready on the Sunday morning, and our family and friends found the space to be very useful and comfortable. We also appreciate the team accepting responsibility of the room not being ready on time, and extending us a kind gesture of withdrawing the rental fee.

We attended for an overnight stay for my wife’s birthday and had a great, relaxing time. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and the buildings and rooms are very charming. The pool area is OK, but the pool itself is pretty small and sunbeds around the bed can be difficult to get. Service is good, but a little slow…Overall, a good experience…

From handmade pasta dishes to gourmet pizzas and delectable desserts like creme brulee, there's something for every palate.
It was my first time at 271West for my friend’s birthday last night. I had a Pasta special which was a deconstructed Lasagna plus I added grilled shrimp. It was probably the best Lasagna I ever had! It was my first time back in the KW area in several decades and my wife picked this restaurant to dine in for our first night. Although it was 20 min from our hotel, the food and service made the short trip worth it! We started with a Caesar salad that was very good, but not overly garlicky. My wife had a gnocchi and shrimp dish while I had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Both dishes were served piping hot and were very flavourful! Serving size was just right. We both loved our pastas. We dined in a spacious upscale booth which had been reserved for us earlier in the day. Our server was prompt and friendly… what more could you ask for! All in all, it was a fantastic dinner. The menu looks extensive so there is bound to be something there for every taste! Bon appetito.

My daughter booked the place for her graduation dinner. It was a lovely, quiet and spotless restaurant—a family-owned business. Nick waited on us. He was amusing and kept the conversation going at a steady pace. I had the salmon and mashed potatoes. I asked him if it was 'real' potatoes and not the packet stuff. He responded good-naturedly, and I was sold. The food was deliciousssssssssssss!! Real home cooking. Everything we ate was great. I didn't eat pasta, which came with garlic bread, but when everyone who did raved about how lovely the bread was, Nick brought me a taste. Best garlic bread I've had--I'm not exaggerating. I used the washroom before leaving, and it was one of the cleanest I've seen—no smell, no spills, and well-stocked. Zel, his dad, was equally funny and gentle. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in the Waterloo/Kitchener area.

I cannot say enough about 271West. It is by far our favourite restaurant in KW. High-end but family run, it has a great atmosphere and even better food. I always bring my out of town guests there when they are looking for a delicious, fancy meal. The are always willing to substitute and offer subsititutions/ local ingredients/ different specials. My wife and I most recently went there for our anniversary. I got the shrimp and scallops pasta and it was to die for. My wife got the chicken and bacon pasta and loved it. We got a beautiful bottle of wine and chatted through the evening. The owner himself served us and met our every whim. A great value for what it is, the best meal in all KW.

I’ve eaten at 271 West a few times and it’s always great — amazing food, great vibe, and excellent service. But what really keeps me coming back is how thoughtful and kind the staff are. I work long 10½-hour shifts, and by the time I get home, I’m usually too tired to cook. Every now and then, I order takeout from here, and it’s always just as good as dining in. I usually walk my dog when I pick up my food, and they always come out to meet me at the door so I don’t have to tether her outside — such a small thing, but it means a lot. Tonight, the owner even let me and my Great Dane wait in the vestibule while they finished preparing my order. She gets nervous around lots of people and traffic, so it helped her settle right down. That level of kindness isn’t something you see every day. The food, as always, was excellent — the salmon was delicious, and the sides were fresh and full of flavor. 271 West truly goes above and beyond for their customers. Highly recommend!

The Crazy Canuck is a unique counter-serve eatery that offers a variety of BBQ dishes, gourmet pizzas, and specialty poutines. Founded by owners Jeremy and Freddy in 2013, it has expanded to include two store locations and two food trucks for event catering. The restaurant's location in northern Waterloo near the St. Jacobs Farmers Market makes it convenient for locals and visitors alike to enjoy their loaded burgers, creative poutines, and specialty pizzas.
I tried the classic poutine from Crazy Canuck, and it was everything you'd want—crispy fries, perfectly squeaky cheese curds, and rich, savory gravy that tied it all together. The portion was generous, and the flavors were spot-on. No frills, just a solid, comforting plate of poutine done right. Would definitely go back for it!
Christian S — Google review
Husband ordered the double smash burger with side poutine with pop and added a classic Quebec poutine for myself. $30 for our purchase. The burger was one patty broken in two. I questioned it and the cashier said "that's just how we make them, one patty smashed on the grill and cut in two." She discussed with the cook and confirms thats just how they make a double smash patty. OK, that's misleading. Poutine gravy was ok probably premade/powder mix. Fries were gross, overcooked and the oil needs to be changed. Same amount of curds on the side poutine as on the full sized. I was also gifted a black hair, from the cook, in my poutine. (Husband is blonde and I'm a redhead so its not ours) It was a staggering 40 minute wait for this meal. The server forgot my husband's pop which was supposed to be included with his "double smash burger combo". Cashier/server unwilling to fix issues or offer refund.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant for an early Saturday dinner at 4 pm. Their online menu is mobile friendly and very easy to navigate and read; same applies to their in-house menu. The restaurant is licensed to serve alcohol. There is lots of free parking in the adjacent lot. We were a bit surprised because this is not a service restaurant and more like a fast food restaurant. You place your order at the window, pay, then staff gives you a numbered marker to help identify you when your order is ready. The interior of the restaurant is very unclean; the floor is greasy, our table was not cleaned and even had food in the grooves of the table. The door window was so dirty you could hardly see out of it, the window sills hadn't been cleaned in weeks if not months, cob webs were on the outside windows and there was a thick layer of dust on top of the ceiling vents; needless to say, cleanliness is not their forte. We opted to sit inside but we can only imagine how dirty the picnic tables are outside in the outdoor, covered, eating area. We were able to see partially into the kitchen and it looked relatively clean, thank goodnes. The benches and back rest are plywood and very uncomfortable. Our table even had nails sticking out of them on the trim which were very sharp and my wife scratched her arm; staff didn't really seem to care and/or understand as she said she would clean it up??? Food is served in takeout containers with plastic forks; not on plates and with stainless steel cutlery. The ribs were outstanding. Very well cooked; moist and well seasoned and the apple bbq sauce was delicious and not overly sweet like most BBQ sauces. They don't have any wet wipes for the ribs so you need to exit the restaurant and go into the antique mall to use the washroom to wash up. The house coleslaw was bland and lacked seasoning. The fries were perfectly cooked, crispy and delicious. The smashburger combo was also very good. The burger was tasty, well seasoned and a perfect size. They only have processed cheese for their burgers so we opted for no "cheese". This combo comes with a poutine and drink. The fries in the poutine were great as well, the cheese curds were tasty but the gravy tasted like a canned run of the mill gravy. We like that they have Bubly as an option for drinks as we dont like pop. The decor is a mish-mash of supposed Canadiana but it didn't make much sense and could do with an update. So the question is would we return? We would not go to the restaurant to eat but we would order takeout as the food was good value for the money and tasted quite good.

If you're looking for the ultimate fry experience in Waterloo, Crazy Canuck is a must-try. I recently ordered their fresh-cut fries with customized toppings, and it was absolutely worth it! This is not your average fast-food poutine or fry box — it's fresh, flavorful, and filling. Definitely recommend it for a quick lunch or a snack with a twist!

This place is a gem in KWC. The best chicken burger I ever had in this city. Loved the friendly environment, the ambience and good old memories of all the Canadian comic art.

The place looks inviting from outside! There is country music playing. It looks like a proper barbecue place ( low and slow Texas style) In fact the food is terrible! Fries were over cooked! Also, looks like it’s an old oil. I ordered the brisket. It was chewy and terrible! I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone to eat in here. This place is just across from Saint Jacobs market, which is amazing with plenty of food options . It was my first time in this place, and I don’t know if somebody changed the owners or anything like it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with all the options available around this area.

Was looking forward to trying this place out! Atmosphere was inviting, price is pretty average, portion size are on the small side, flavor was good. Unfortunately would not go back. Service was nonexistent besides taking orders. Wait time was almost twice as long as estimated. Thankfully the food was flavorful, we got the burger special, just wasn't filling/much food, ended up making another stop to get lunch

Brewtown Waterloo is a lovely spot with such friendly and welcoming staff! I really appreciate that they offer a separate menu for vegetarians and vegans—it’s so thoughtful and inclusive. I loved how they had options that suited my preferences perfectly. The vibe of the place is cozy and chill, making it ideal for catching up with friends or just enjoying a relaxed time. I tried their food, and it was fresh and flavorful. Overall, a great experience—I’d definitely recommend stopping by!

I had an amazing lunch at Beertown Public House in Waterloo! The weather was perfect, and sitting on their all-season patio made the experience even better. The atmosphere is lively yet welcoming, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, making it comfortable for all guests. Parking was convenient with free 2-hour spots nearby, and for longer stays, paid options are available The staff were incredibly accommodating. For example, the menu had Fish Tacos, but they happily substituted them with Chicken Tacos for me, and they were delicious! We also ordered a Yucatan Chicken Bowl, a sandwich, and a Caesar Salad, and everything was perfect—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. For families, Beertown is fantastic. They have a kids’ menu with differentoptions. There are also plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-friendly options, including plant-based bowls, burgers, and other mains, so everyone in the group can find something they enjoy. Overall, Beertown Public House offers excellent food, a friendly and accommodating staff, and a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere. Sitting on the patio and enjoying a relaxing lunch made it a perfect outing. Highly recommend!

Nestled in a charming neighborhood, the Red House is a striking red brick establishment that offers an inviting atmosphere for those seeking New Canadian cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails. This cozy eatery surprises visitors with its intimate bistro vibe, adorned with vibrant botanicals and local artwork. The menu features delightful weekend specials, including an unforgettable celery and blue cheese soup topped with nutty parsley—an unexpected flavor combination that will leave you craving more.
The Saturday brunch at Red House is perfect. Staff are extremely nice and accommodating. We sat in the front window area surrounded by plants and it felt like our own private restaurant. We had the Creme Brulee French Toast, extremely refreshing Guyanese Sorrel Punch, and Roasted Lamb Hash. We will definitely be back!

I had a great brunch experience at Red House! The atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was good. The brunch dishes were mostly good, but not as exceptional as I'd hoped. However, the oxtail Benedict was incredible - both the taste and presentation were perfect. It's sad to hear they're closing soon. I hope they'll return to KW at a different location. Thank you, Red House, for all the wonderful years!

We recently celebrated our anniversary with a brunch at the Red House Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely amazing, with every dish being authentic, tasty, and beautifully presented. We made reservations in advance and were warmly welcomed by Tee, who provided excellent customer service. She was incredibly warm, inviting, and friendly, which added a special touch to our celebration. As a delightful surprise, the restaurant served us a complimentary Pavlova for our anniversary, which was a perfect end to our meal. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate, and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for any special occasion!

The best curry dish I have had in ever. The ambience was great, Laura the lady that attended to us was really sweet and lovely. The drinks were great, that angry edamame was definitely angry at somebody but very kind on the palate ☺️. I had this Guyanese drink which was really refreshing. Very unassuming space at the corner of Williams. Definitely a gem worth uncovering. Will go there over and over again 😊

This is a lovely little restaurant where we had a recent meal where we ordered the calamari, Caesar salad, curry bowl, lamb spaghetti and fish. Everything was really delicious and would recommend making a reservation for a visit. Something to just keep in mind is that the entree servings are very large and the restaurant atmosphere is a bit on the noisy side.

A delightful experience. The cocktails and wine were excellent, and a delicious offering of weekend specials were available. The celery and blue cheese soup was to die for, a combination I never would have imagined, with a nutty parsley topping. I never knew celery could be so delicious. I followed this up with the curry bowl which was exceptional, I will likely struggle to order anything else off the menu in future as a result of it being so incredible, I’ll want it every time I go :). The service, food and overall ambiance was top notch. Highly recommend

First time dining at the Red House. The service was excellent. The food was very good. The peach and goats cheese bruschetta was a stand out. I found the rigatoni to be good but a bit too mild in flavor. It could have used a kick. Overall very happy.

Impressive place for a nice night out. The food was fantastic and nicely presented. The soup options on the day we visited were coconut Thai soup (spicy) and chickpea soup (mild). For mains, we had the lamb spaghetti and the Lebanese Cornish hen. Both were great. The cornish hen is a breaded cutlet rather than a whole (or half) bird. The spinach and beet salad was quite tasty and the portion size was big. We had the cardamom cheesecake which was beautifully presented and delicious. I highly recommend this place. Parking was difficult to find. We ended up parking at the LCBO and then walking to the restaurant.

Restaurant
Ennio's Pasta House, located in the heart of Waterloo, Ontario, is a beloved Italian eatery known for its cozy ambiance and authentic flavors. The restaurant specializes in traditional pasta dishes made with fresh ingredients that transport diners to Italy. In addition to classic Italian entrees and pizza, Ennio's offers a carefully curated drink menu featuring imported wines and delightful summer cocktails that perfectly complement their culinary offerings.
To start, the service was amazing from start to finish! We were seated quickly and our server constantly checked in with us. They were knowledgeable with the menu and offered us recommendations. We got the truffle potato wedges which were amazing. They were crispy, not too salty, and the truffle aioli took it to the next level. The pizza was hot and fresh with a tasty crust. The lasagna was also made well and all the food was filling. Would definitely come back and try their other menu items!

Nice place for Italian food. It was a busy day on a sleepy Wednesday. Even though the place was half empty they were understaffed and we waited long to be served. There was clear chaos but the staff tried to be as cheerful as possible. The food was very good and made up for the slow service. Overall we had a good time and will definitely try them again. Hopefully on a better day.

We dined at Ennio’s in Waterloo for the first time last weekend (Sunday) for dinner. We are an Italian family, travelling frequently to Italy, with a strong Italian heritage. As Italians, we enjoyed our experience and the food at Ennio’s. Very close to authentic Italian — the sauce was delicious, very similar to my Nonna’s homemade recipe! Ask any Italian, the sauce is what makes or breaks a dish and Ennio’s sauce is great. What did we try? To start we had the Pazzo Bread & Arancini, both were delicious. Our party of five tried pastas: Nonna’s Gnocchi, Annabella, Bettola, and Rustica; and the Risotto Alla Florentine. All were delicious. Portions were very large. The only personal complaint was for me, the dish was way too “saucy” … I was going to ask for less sauce (as I saw photos from other reviews) and forgot. Aside from that, we truly enjoyed our meal. Great service, rustic Italian ambience, authentic Italian pastas. Highly recommend!

Had a birthday party here. Overall, it was a nice experience most of the dishes were quite good, especially the appetizers. However, my risotto was overcooked and lacked flavor, and the shnitzel was a bit to oily and not really good with risotto, didn't get the point of the dish. The waitress was kind and tried her best, but with no bartender on site, she wasn’t familiar with cognac or how to serve it properly though we figured it out together.

I've been going to Ennios for well over 10 years and not once have I been disappointed with their food, customer service and my overall dining experience. However, I recently did experience disappointment when an Uber driver delivered a clearly dropped, messy and completely cold ruined dish. However, when I contacted the restaurant, the manager Heather, immediately responded and provided a solution to resolve my concerns. I just wanted to say thanks for caring about your customers and for your delicious food. I love going to the patio in warmer weather as well. Has a very cozy atmosphere. Looking forward to more patios and yummy meals from your restaurant.

The best dining experience in KW. If you have a special occasion to celebrate or just want to enjoy amazing food in a wonderful atmosphere then Trio is the place! Dining here was a treat for the senses. The food was not only delicious, but beautifully presented, making every dish a visual delight. We want to acknowledge “Benoit” the general manager, who ensured our experience was top-notch. His attention to detail was truly impressive. The service at Trio was impeccable. The staff were attentive and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect. We were impressed by how efficiently the team worked together. Each member contributed to a smooth dining experience! The staff who took care of us were so welcoming and helpful. Ben is so knowledgeable with wines and how they pair with the food. Presenting each dish with every ingredient and taste. We hosted our 25 person private wedding reception at Trio and it was everything we hoped for. From the first conversation with Benoit, planning was easy and we were so excited about our menu options. The food, as expected, was delicious and beautifully presented. The kitchen did an amazing job, especially with accommodating many different allergies. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and we were able to bring in our own decor and music. The service was outstanding, from canapés to dessert, with everyone going above and beyond. Benoit especially deserves a huge thank-you for his attention to detail and care he put into our day. Our guests are still talking about how special the night was. Thank you.

15/10!! Wednesday night themed tasting menu at King Street Trio Uptown was beyond amazing. Definitely the BEST dining experience I’ve had in KW since I arrived 7 years ago. The food was mind blowing and the service was top tier courtesy of Benoit and his incredible team. Everything went above and beyond our expectations. Photos are from July 2 Spanish themed night. The wine pairings were stellar. Think about this place for your upcoming special occasions. 💓

From the minute you walk in, Benoit is continuously and undoubtably the most kind, gracious and empathetic host! Benoit’s wine selection is tailored to your needs AND affordable. Atmosphere is comfortable yet clean and inspiring. Paul and I eat out - at very nice restaurants - all around the world. The quality, care and thought that goes into each dish is cherished in 1. Presentation brings appetite 2. Flavour build. The food is amazing and it should be considered by Michelin. Perhaps more important to us though is the atmosphere and kindness of Benoit and the team. It’s the best restaurant in the region - by a long way. Benoit obviously loves his profession and on top of being so professional he creates a unique, personal experience that makes every evening delicious, glamourous, romantic and exciting.
Cadence C — Google review
I tried their Singapore Night menu this Wednesday and was very disappointed with the food. The appetizer salad tasted okay, but the fried tofu in it was cold and had no texture. The lamb skewers also had decent flavor, but the portion was extremely small. At first, I thought the small portion of lamb skewers was because the main course would be more substantial. However, when the main course arrived, I was thoroughly disappointed. It was just a few buttered shrimp, some boiled rice noodles with an incredibly bland sauce, and a single boiled egg. Can a boiled egg and some boiled rice noodles really be considered part of a fine dining experience? This main course felt so careless and completely unworthy of the “fine dining” label. Desert was okay. I originally came because of Trio’s reputation, but I left extremely disappointed. We spent nearly 300 CAD for two people, and honestly, I feel like I could have gotten a much better meal at any Asian restaurants. Maybe their regular menu is better, but as a first-time visitor, this experience was truly disappointing.

Stopped in for an impromptu Friday night dinner on the recommendation of a local friend, and we’re so glad we did. We were warmly welcomed by staff and seated right away despite not having a reservation which was a great start to the evening. The menu is on the smaller side, but it’s well-curated, with unique dishes that feel intentional and refined. They recently swapped out their Wagyu steak for striploin due to the ongoing trade-related sourcing concerns. Disappointing as this may be it was refreshing to see a restaurant make thoughtful, transparent choices like that. Service throughout the night was excellent. Our server, Natalie, was friendly, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations. To start, we shared the Roasted Pork Belly with chimichurri, radish, and apple. It had a nice balance of sweet and savoury, though I would have loved a touch more sweetness to offset the richness, maybe an apple compote would’ve done the trick. Still, a solid 4/5. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass with peas, asparagus, and fennel in a beurre blanc sauce. The fish was wild, not farmed (a major plus), and very fresh. Beautiful textures and flavours, though it leaned a bit salty for our taste. Not enough to ruin the dish, but enough to notice. A well deserved 4.5/5. I went with the Iberico Pork (Chop), paired with red pepper jam, Brussel sprouts, and sauce vierge. Cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The sprouts even had a hint of sweetness, which paired nicely. Only small issue was the amount of oil left on the plate. It worked out for me since I used the remaining focaccia to soak it up, but worth noting. 4.5/5. Speaking of focaccia, WOW! Probably the best I’ve had. Fresh, warm, crunchy crust, and incredibly flavourful. Served with a side of cream cheese with a touch of honey, and black pepper. It was just a fantastic sweet/savoury combo but not even needed since the focaccia was amazing by take! Easy 6/5. Worth going back for this alone. We ended with the Chocolate Crémeux with pistachio crumble, feuilletine, and pistachio ice cream. The cremeux was almost too rich on its own, but perfectly balanced once you get everything in one bite. Creamy, crunchy, not overly sweet. It was an ideal way to finish the meal. 5/5. They were kind enough to bring a palette cleanser after we had finished everything. Ours was a hazelnut biscotti. It was a nice, crunchy way to end our evening while waiting for the cheque. Overall, this place lives up to the hype. Their current 4.7-star rating is spot on. Great food, warm atmosphere, and genuinely thoughtful service. We’ll definitely be back.

Mediterraneo Family Restaurant is a vibrant, booth-lined café that brings the essence of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine to life in Waterloo, Ontario. This charming eatery offers a delightful array of traditional dishes perfect for lunch or dinner, making it an ideal spot for special occasions like Mother's Day. Guests can savor mouthwatering options such as calamari, souvlaki, lamb chops, moussaka, and Santorini chicken—all served with genuine warmth and hospitality.
Went with my girl. I ordered spanakopita meal and she got chicken souvlaki. It was perfect! Fresh feta, crusty but soft phyllo dough, delicious salad, world class rice! I could eat that rice alone by itself, if it ever came to that. We also shared a slice of mango-strawberry cheesecake at the end. I think the crust had a bit of coconut in it. Lovely! I'll be back if I'm ever in the area again (I live in Brampton). P.S. Attached pictures are actual food, not professional photography (hard to believe, eh?). I only had my cell phone with me.

Been here 3 times and ordered the same thing every single time. The food is delicious, portions are generous (enough for leftovers) and prices very reasonable. Came here recently for our anniversary and had the saganaki to share and moussaka each. Wine for me and a slice of cheesecake to share for dessert. We made a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday and it was packed when we got there, we heard a server tell someone else they would have to wait an hour without a reservation. We were seated promptly though. Service was a bit slow, it took a while for our mains to be ready and they also took a long time to notice our water needed a top up. That being said, staff were still polite and the food is top notch!

A very popular restaurant and rightly so. The food was delicious, nicely presented, and a good value. Portion sizes were large. Decor is a fun Mediterranean and it's an unpretentious family style restaurant. The service is relaxed and you won't be rushed. Some people complained about slow service, but just let them know if you are in a rush. Otherwise they will let you relax and enjoy your meal. True Mediterranean! Lots of people getting takeout as well. Parking is not great and the lot doesn't have a lot of parking. We'll be back! TIP: Make sure you get a reservation because we went at 5:30 and the place was almost full. They had some tables still but they were all reserved, so they do a good job in honoring reservations.

Mexican restaurant
Taco Farm is a vibrant and dynamic Mexican-inspired restaurant in Waterloo, known for its creative tacos made with seasonal ingredients. The establishment offers a variety of tacos, from camaron and carnitas to chicken pibil and smoked pork belly, all served on house-made tortillas produced by their front-and-centre tortilla machine. In addition to the taco selection, there are platter specials and a wide range of craft beer available.
Loved our server and the host as well as the beautiful patio. The food was absolutely phenomenal and there were plenty of vegetarian options. You could definitely tell that the ingredients were all fresh. Felt super jealous of all of the drink orders we saw pass our table, so we will definitely have to come back to try some at some time.

One the best Tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole, although on a bit salty side. Tacos were refreshing and tasty as well. However, the fried chicken that we ordered was dry and almost stale from inside. Seems like a case of double frying left over chicken. Since it was my first time at Taco Farm and I enjoyed the main dish, I would give them another chance to get to 5 star.
Mrityunjay B — Google review
Ordered the Birria Tacos 🌮and found it to be okay. The Braised Beef Shank could've been more tender and juicy but I guess that's why you have the Braised Liquid to dip the tacos in. The Braised Liquid was somewhat flavourful. Mexican Rice was not too bad. It was seasoned. Would I come back here just to order the Birria Tacos again? Probably not. Will have to try something else on the menu next time.

This was an unexpected find! It’s a little place with a lot of personality. There were 2 people working at the time and they were both very friendly. I ordered the classic taco platter and was not disappointed. The portion was big and the presentation was so nice! They also have a wide selection of beers and tequilas to help wash everything down. If I’m ever in the area I’ll definitely pay a visit.

A nice little spot with a very chill ambience. The space inside is well spaced out and they do have quite a bit of Patio seating as well (uncovered). The place seemed under staffed as we did have to wait quite a bit before somebody attended to us and took us to our seats. They have a variety of frozen margaritas here. We tried the Mexican Mule (would definitely recommend) and the Mango margaritas. The drinks were really good and it's worth visiting for just the drinks, although it was quite pricey for the quantity. We had the Calamari El Diablo for the appetizers and it was delicious! The hot sauce that comes with it is pretty spicy. We loved it! For mains, we had the Taco platter and the Birria Tacos. Was quite excited to try this place for the Birria Tacos! The platter comes with 2 protein of your choice and we chose the smoked chicken and the grilled shrimps (highly recommended!). The frijoles were tasty and the salsa that came with it were good as well. The Birria Tacos came with Mexican rice. The rice was cold and it wasn't great, would have been better if the dish came without it. The beef shank was pretty good and went well with the birria consome. The birria consome/sauce by itself wasn't very flavourful. It definitely was underwhelming! We tried both the dessert on offer. The Mexican chocolate pudding was nice but our favourite was the Churros with dulce de leche. The churro seemed freshly made and it was great by itself but the dulce de leche definitely elevated it. You should definitely try it! We had to wait quite a bit for ordering the desserts as well as to get the bill even though the place was pretty empty. Overall the place is quite good and it has quite a variety of drinks, appetizers and Tacos to choose from and go back for, although the service leaves much to be desired.

To begin with, the service at this location is extremely terrible. First I thought that they are understaffed/busy which is probably why they are taking so long to attend us at the front door but over the course of our meal, the place got less busier and the service was extremely slow even when there were just a couple tables with customers. The staff seemed to be more busy chit-chatting amongst each other. However, the food, drinks & desserts here were pretty good. Some of my recommendations would be: Calamari El Diablo - this comes with a spicy sauce which is truly spicy; no kidding! We loved it because we love the heat. Mango Margarita & Mexican Mule - fantastic tasting drinks; would love to try others if I revisit. Churros with Dulce De Leche - OMG these were to die for! We also ordered the Birria Tacos and Taco Platter which were decent tasting. The Mexican chocolate pudding was good too but wasn't expecting to be spiced up. Their menu; especially the drinks seem to be expensive. Would recommend the place for the food but definitely keep your expectations for the service to bare minimum to avoid disappointment. There is very limited street parking around the place so expect to go around to find parking.

Went right when they opened. Everything was hot and fresh. Got the Birria tacos and the lamb taquitos. Everything was amazing but the taquitos stole the show. So good! Had a churro for dessert which was clearly made fresh. Will definitely be going back!

Friendly staff. Food was alright. The barillia tacos were decent, the shrimp and chicken tacos were burnt. They were nice enough to not include the burnt food on our bill but the service wasnt the greatest. It took us 30 mins for our order to be taken, another 45 for the food to make it to our table and another 20 for the bill. The place was probably at 25% full. I could only imagine how horrible the service would be if it were completely full. I came here once 4 years ago and now i realize why it took me 4 years to try it again. The washrooms havent been cleaned with wet paper towels on the floor and clogging the sink. I dont recommend this place.

Caribbean restaurant
Ellison's Bistro is a popular spot in downtown Kitchener, known for its contemporary Caribbean cuisine served in a cozy and relaxed setting. The menu features a variety of authentic and unique Caribbean-inspired dishes, with a focus on vegetarian-friendly options. Chef Elvis Ellison, with his French training, brings a fusion of Caribbean, European, and urban flavors to the table. A must-try is the jerk chicken, cooked with the chef's spicier-than-normal yet flavorful jerk seasoning.
Fantastic Caribbean cuisine in downtown Kitchener. It was easy to find parking in the back, but it's also in a nice walkable location near the ION stop. The ambience of the place is very nice, it's beautifully decorated and the lighting gave the space a very cozy feel. The service was very good, they were very personable and nice to us, and the food came out in a reasonable time. The food itself tasted great. The portions for the price were very reasonable and filling. The plating of the food was very well done and looked pretty fancy. We had the pepper pot soup, curried goat, and jerk chicken. They were served with side of rice and vegetables. Definitely worth going back. We will for sure to try the other items.

Certified! Great lunch at Ellisons today. Service was top notch. Presentation was a 10/10. I would’ve given five stars to the jerk if it was done on the drum vs. oven but other than that, outstanding. Check them out if you’re on the hunt for good Caribbean food in the downtown!! 💯

I brought a co-worker here who was visiting from the US. She was in the mood for Caribbean food so I started looking for the best option not far from her hotel. I had never been here before. I am a lover of authentic Jamaican/Caribbean food and this did not disappoint. We had the Curry Goat Roti and the Jerk Chicken. Roti made in house as was the delicious hot sauce that we took a bottle of home with us. I absolutely loved that it was a nice sit down restaurant with option to have a nice glass of wine as opposed the the takeout style of most Caribbean restaurants. Elvis (Owner/Chef) and Zorina (hostess/waitress) were so awesome and attentive.

We visited Ellison's Bistro this past Wednesday and ordered the Rack Of Lamb Port Antonio & Me Mah Oxtail. The food was delicious, the presentation was very classy, and the intimate feeling of the restaurant created a great dining experience. We had conversations with the owner/chef and head waitress throughout our meal. I've been looking for some good Caribbean food in Kitchener and I'm glad I finally found Ellison's Bistro. I would highly recommended a visit to them and will be returning again soon.

Staff was incredibly friendly and personable. The food was also really great. I had their potato and chickpea roti which was vegan. Their sweet potato pudding was also vegan! The pudding had an unexpected kick of spices but it was really good.

Accidentally found this place on our way through Kitchener. Quaint place with a family feel. Chef came out several times to check in on us. Curry goat was super flavourful and tender with a nice thick gravy. Friends were super happy with their jambalaya and roti. Portions were generous and everything was home made and fresh. We'll be back next time we drive through.

A cozy, unassuming place with food that speaks for itself. I went in for a late lunch and had the entire place to myself. Ordered the hot pepper soup for the appetizer and jerk chicken for the entrée. Both arrived quickly, and were absolutely delicious. The chicken was just right, not too hot, and the owner was considerate to offer their in house hot sauce that added quite a kick to it. Great ambience, friendly owner, and delicious food. Will definitely come back.

The owners are really nice and welcoming when I went there. They had lunch specials for each day if the week for really cheap, about 8 dollars I think. Their curried goat was decent with lots of meat. One thing to note is that it's CASH ONLY.

Indulge in the sophisticated atmosphere and global cuisine at Martini's Bar & Patio. This establishment offers a chic ambiance and an extensive selection of international small plates and entrées. From delectable baked brie to tantalizing sprouts and chips, their menu features a variety of mouthwatering options. Savor the flavors of their sesame yellowfin tuna bowl and more, while enjoying a casual date night or celebrating special occasions.
First visit to the Martinis part of the Charcoal. I also hadn’t been to the Charcoal in over a decade. We had an early dinner on the outdoor patio because the weather was perfect temperature to be outside. It’s a warm and cozy setting. Some traffic noise, but the plants do help filter that out. I forget the server’s name, but she was excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable, but not at all pushy. She helped my partner change some ingredients in her cocktail order, as she wanted to substitute the peach schnapps for something else. I got a Caesar salad for my appetizer. It was better than I hoped. Very fresh with a little radicchio with the romaine. My partner got the beat salad and it was OK. We got an order of the prime rib with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were actually way better than I expected. Somehow they managed to elevate mashed potatoes. The prime rib, I asked for medium rare, and I think that mine was much more rare. I actually don’t mind it, but it was, almost too rare. Some of the fat hadn’t quite rendered out so it was a little tough to cut. We also got the peppercorn steak and it was a perfect medium rare. The pepper sauce was bright and vibrant, but not so spicy that you couldn’t handle it or that it would overpower the steak. The caramelization on the outside of the steak was exactly what I had hoped for. The house red on the day that we went was excellent and paired very well with all that beef. There is ample parking.

Lovely lunch on the patio! Delicious, flavourful and an amazing server who answered all my questions! lol Steak and blue salad! Yummy and perfectly done! Seasonal strawberry mocktail and crème brûlée for dessert! Completely pleased!! Honestly don’t change a thing! Everything was perfect!

For some reason, we were unable to book through Open Table as it wouldn't come up so we had to phone instead. We sat outside, the vibe was really nice and it was Wednesday! Ordered a cosmo and really enjoyed it. Our server was attentive and very nice and patient. Crab cakes, onion soup as apps. The onion soup was terrific and really loved the flavours. Lobster roll and Vi bowl as mains. The roll was good but my bowl was not great. The blackened chicken was somehow bitter and the veggies in it too. Rice and beans, the rice was mushy didn't enjoy it either. Ordered some white wine and it was very nice! A fly landed in my glass at some point and our server promptly brought me a new one Cuz we were celeb our anniv, they offered a free dessert and that was delicious! Service was top notch, vibe great! Food has some room for improvement but will certainly return and order something different. And yes, we were asked if the food was ok and we were enjoying it several times but didn't want to spend our celeb in any other way than enjoying it Thanks to our server for making it special!!

Only complaint is that the size of the Beat and Goat cheese salad. I had to confirm it was the Large. It was. Too little salad. Overall size is too small. Added salmon. Was well cooked and tasted great.

I recently had the privilege of being served by Julia the other day. She was so amazing and made the experience so memorable. I had never been to martinis/charcoal steak house before but I am so glad that I gave it a try! I just wanted a cute drink and some apps so I got the most beautiful Hugo spritz and my friend got a super yummy raspberry drink recommended to us by our amazing waitress, Julia. We then split some delicious cauliflower bites and I also got the best french onion soup (it felt like FUNion soup), also recommended by Julia! I had such a good time I might have to make this my go-to spot. Cant wait to bring my family here next time they visit - hopefully we get the same waitress, she really completed the experience.

Abby, the young lady who was my server was exceptional. All the staff that I spoke to were excellent. I forget the name of the servers from previous times. Very clean facility. Great food. I thought the dimmer switch could be turned up a bit for the lights though and the music didn't seem to fit the atmosphere of the restaurant but it was fine. I'm certainly not an expert on that.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Downtown Kitchener, The Grand Trunk Saloon is a delightful fusion of modern Southern cuisine and inventive cocktails, all wrapped up in a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of the 19th century. This charming spot is perfect for those craving comfort food classics like Chicken N Waffles or their renowned Buttermilk Fried Chicken. With live music adding to its lively ambiance, it’s an ideal hangout for friends looking to unwind.
The food was amazing! The Brussels sprouts and fried chicken were standout dishes, and there were so many phenomenal shareable plates—huge credit to the chefs. The vibe was great, and the cocktails were delicious (though on the smaller and pricier side). Our server was a bit blunt and not the most approachable, but she was efficient, timely, and clearly explained key menu items. Overall, a really solid spot for food lovers—definitely worth a visit.

Mushroom melt sandwich was mouth watering! It was the best way I have had mushrooms hands down. And it’s on the lighter side! Perfect for lunch and if you love mushrooms! Drinks are nice and complex, so many flavour notes that make sipping the drinks part of the experience. Well worth it and supporting local businesses.

This place is a true gem! It’s been our go-to spot for dinner and drinks for a year now. Most recently we had my sister’s bachelorette dinner here and it was the highlight of the entire night. The staff made us feel so special and delivered a memorable experience. The food is so spectacular with pizzas and fried chicken being a highlight. Thanks again for our server Taylor for being so stellar!

We went here for our wedding dinner and the experience was incredible. Taylor was our server who was prompt, and helpful. We were a big group but he was able to balance the busyness of the group as well as serving other tables. The food was great with many of the party commenting on the high quality and good taste of the food. We always recommend the fried chicken and waffles as it remains a staple of one of the best versions of the dish available in the area.

Drinks were so good but quite pricey. We got there close to midnight so food service was done and they only had pizza service ending at midnight. Pizza was delicious, unfortunately, we were too hungry to take a picture. I would like to try them again earlier in the night (although it was a Saturday night, place should stay open till later).

Amazing food. Upscale pub style; the cauliflower “wings” were so delicious. Everyone at the table raved about them. The duck spring rolls were delicious. The pork belly and fish tacos were also excellent. Great drinks, great service.

Enjoyed a nice dinner at White Rabbit in March 2025. It's a short walk from the parking lot at the town square. Decor is quite tasteful and the atmosphere on a Sunday was enjoyable - had two Springsteen and two CCR songs in the rotation during the hour we were there, liked it! Food was quite delicious - we had the brussel sprouts to start and the short rib and scallop/pork belly plates for the main. The server explained they were going for a tapas approach with the menu and the entrees did feel a bit small. In retrospect I definitely would have ordered something in addition to the short rib; alone it was not enough and the sweet potato mash felt more like a sauce then a side. Nonetheless delicious. Not sure I would return for dinner but the drink menu looked quite interesting - could definitely see returning for cocktails.

Very cool hangout with great cocktails. Highly recommend the in house specials (the Rabbit Rickey was fantastic) - price was great too - $10 for the best drink I had all weekend. My wife had the peach something or other (right in photo) and that was great too. A nice change from all the craft beer available on the street.

Great choice of food and cocktails served. Little pub down the uptown area. Cauliflower wings are best. Read so many reviews about tacos. Ordered sam adam cod and jerk tofu both were super tasty. Service is quick and servers are very welcoming and friendly. Would say 10/10 for everything.

The vibe, the drinks, the food. Delish. I ordered the focaccia to start with honey butter - I will be dreaming of this bread. And then gnocchi for my main, so fluffy and incredible. I also had the blueberry mocktail, which was sooooo tasty. I will be back, 10/10.

Exceptional service !! Drinks were complex and delicious -I’d recommend The Mort. Food was great - I’d recommend the wonton nachos. The short rib is melt in your mouth, but more sweet potato puree would be even better. 100% check it out!

The cocktails here are definitely worth venturing here for - always different and delicious. I love coming to try new ones. Bonus that the food is also really good with some gluten friendly options. Double delicious!! Atmosphere is darker but inviting with nods to Anthony Bourdain and a tile wall of pop/rock icons which I appreciated along the back. Princess Cafe is a charming family-run establishment in Kitchener-Waterloo, offering a delightful range of options for casual dining. The cafe provides a cozy and laid-back environment, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal or unwinding with friends. Known for its relaxed vibe and friendly service, it offers an array of menu items including panini, soups, craft beers, breakfast sandwiches, quiches, fresh pastries, and various coffee choices.
I loved coming here! There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. They offer a good variety of sandwiches as well as drinks, including both alcoholic and caffeinated options. The sandwiches were very tasty, though I didn’t realize the chicken was deli-style and that was kinda disappointing.
Tara R — Google review
One of my favorite spots in uptown waterloo for a quick bite or light lunch. Ingredients are very good which makes good quality great. Not a fan of their hot drinks (latte didn’t taste as expected). Service could be better, takes quite a while to get one sandwich (hence my rating of 4 stars instead of 5). My favorite is the California veggie sandwich, and their soup and salads are good too. Recommend this.
Naima S — Google review
Let me paint the picture. The sun finally shines in the pale grey skies of Waterloo. The weather is approaching positive temperatures, the melted ice is glistening. What better to pair than a nice refreshing drink? I notice a local spot, the princess cafe, which I’d heard many good things about in the past. To my surprise, only 1 customer was in line in front of me. I was ecstatic and scanned the menu only to be unable to find any cold drink options. So I did the next best thing and took a beverage from the fridge, which was nice and cold, however I’d like to note that no prices on these drinks were advertised. To my disappointment, the customer (who only ordered 2 coffees) took approximately 30 minutes. During which time, the workers continued smiling awkwardly at me to acknowledge the delay in the wait. By the time my turn arrived, there was a line of 10 people populated behind me. The cashier read my total to me and I audibly gasped, $10???? Am I being served gold??? I thought to myself. She turned the till to me and confirmed the amount: 10.14. I hesitantly removed my phone from my pocket to pay. The faint ding of the Apple Pay notification displaying from my phone. I retreated, embarrassed and ashamed that I had spent nearly an hour of wage on this ridiculous drink. Perhaps my bank account is not supportive of my dying will to support local businesses. And here I was, a local customer, one wrong financial decision closer to sadness. In addition, my cognitive capacity took another toll as I sipped the drink, hoping to be taken to the stars by the flavourful taste considering the astronomical amount of money I had just paid. But no, the stars were not aligned in my favor, Mars was in retrograde, as my drink was about room temperature.
Pershia N — Google review
A great spot to chill and talk! theres a bunch if seating spots and it makes it great. Only thing was the drinks we got a match and a lavender latter. The lavender latter had no hint of lavender, and the matcha was slightly too sweet. Otherwise, definitely check it out as it's a cute little aesthetic spot.
Zhina B — Google review
A HIDDEN GEM. I would not have thought to come and eat in here if it wasn't for someone bringing me here. The only reason why I gave it a four-star for atmosphere instead of a five was because there wasnt a ton of seating, either window seating, or a few along the wall. But I did enjoy the hightop table. Just not my TOTAL preference. But!!!! The food was oh my goodness, chefs kiss! We ordered the MUSHROOM MELT and The YAMWHICH. The pesto, the cheese, the crunch of the bread. The sweet potato in the yamwhich. 🤤 So very worth it! We also purchased the cookie, which was a cinnamon toast crunch with white chocolate. Very sweet! As well as sparking drinks, that as usual smell absolutely amazing but the taste is always meh. NOT the cafes fault. The people working that day were wonderful and I will be 1000% coming back, bringing others to drool over your food and recommending to as many as I can. Thank you for being such an exceptional little cafe.

The sandwiches are fine, just very expensive. Their other food is bad though and their menu is small. The staff are nice. But I hated my experience there because of the atmosphere. Their chairs are super high and have no arm rests. They don't look stable and are pretty flimsy. They are very unsafe. I need to sit in a normal chair so they put me across the hall in a study room. Like their place is so bad all children, elderly, injured (on crutches) and disabled people have to sit in a completely separate room outside of the Cafe. I can't believe they treat people like this.

I loooove the princess cafe. The sandwiches are SO good, worth every penny and the drinks are yummy. Love working in the Annex and chilling in the cafe. The seperated spaces are a super cool idea. The dishware is super cute too.

My favourite place to study uptown! They have a separate room attached to the cafe with tables for those wanting to sit down and study (with purchase at the cafe of course), and they will deliver your food/drinks to you! The actual cafe is quite beautiful with lots of character and vintage decor, and their sandwiches/paninis are delicious!!!

Great for vegan food and the atmosphere was great for dinner. A little cozy when it becomes a bar. My only warning is to not pay cash, or else the bartender will yell at you to “remember to tip next time”. Said it to a student who clearly wasn’t swimming in money. I understand there is a free cover but as a repetitive customer I found it so rude- I’m glad I never did in the first place. Tipping culture has gone nuts. Haven’t been back since lol

Great place to hangout for casual food and drinks. They have a hidden patio at the back which is perfect to meet up with a friend or go out as a couple for a drink. I also came here for dinner to try their food. The caesar salad had a sweeter dressing but was delicious. The burger was alright but a bit on the mushy side. I don't think I would order it again but the salad - definitely. Note that most dishes are served with their house tortilla chips as a side. They are simple but tasty.

The food was EXCELLENT! My girlfriend is a vegetarian and was so excited that she could have everything on the menu. I'll admit, I'm not a vegetarian and I enjoyed the food. We went last Friday and ordered the quesadilla and the special with chips and salsa. The special was a chick'n sandwich on a bun from Vincenzo's, and OMG IT WAS DELICIOUS! If someone didn't tell me it wasn't a chicken sandwich, I would have thought it was chicken. Everything was delicious and very tasty. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we both felt safe and comfortable being ourselves. This is our new date night restaurant and we will definitely be coming back here! PS to the staff at Jane Bond: Can you please make that chick'n sandwich a regular on the menu? That definitely deserves a spot on there.

We have been regulars to this restaurant in the past. But, they are under NEW ownership now and the staff pretty much remains the same. The food and menu remain’s the same. The reason I am docking a star from them, is very simple how many times do you need to visit a locations and tell them “ no gravy on your meal and the meal come out with gravy on it ? “ and you have to send the plate back to the kitchen… Yesterday on our visit I ordered meat loaf without gravy on my mash potatoes and meat loaf and when it first came out it was flood in it. Well to say the least my plate was sent back to the kitchen and I had to wait another 15 minutes for my meal, while my wife and daughter enjoyed their meals, the one pictured in my review. I should my wife asked for no gravy as well but she scrapped her off. Something I just won’t do as I just don’t like gravy. I will also state their mash potatoes lack any taste, until I put tons of salt on them. The one thing, I also didn’t like the waitress kept telling how they were short staffed yesterday…. Also she lack getting all of us cutlery, so I had to get up and grab a set off another table so my daughter had some, after the waitress dropped off the food. One last thing we wait about 15 to 20 minutes before we even got ask about drinks…..I know they were busy…. And as I stated above the waitress kept say “ they were short staffed” but we’ve been there this restaurant in the past when only 3 waitress or waiters are working and gotten better service in the past.

Went here based off reviews but appears they went under new ownership recently. Party of 3, including toddler. Server was nice but super slow. The service was very slow, lots of people waiting and some were observed waiting a long time to just take a drink order. Some complaints were visible. The food it self was ok, the home fries were a bit old but other than that it was ok. The kids meal came with a scrambled egg? 2 bacons and toast. No home fries. Such a small amount for 7.99$. The price of the food, considering the portion size and overall taste is in my opinion not worth it. I mean if I’m paying almost 4$ for a cup of coffee, I should be getting refills. But the server was never around and didn’t check on us after food was dropped off. Overall, I can’t recommend this place whatsoever. There are way more better options, both in pricing, service and quality.

Ordered take out from here and got a Smoked Meat Benedict. After my order being 15min late they gave me my bag with the container in it placed sideways, which I couldn't tell yet because the bag was sealed. After getting home and realizing this and opening my breakfast everything was flipped over and sliding off, I was not happy. Also for $18, breakfast places give much bigger servings usually with bread and/or sausage so I feel it's overpriced. Not coming here again.

Delicious spot for breakfast or lunch with plenty of options. Great service, too.

Good day. We just did take out for 3 people of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It was absolutely delicious and had great flavours and plenty of food for each adult. We are now stuffed and we’re just mentioning things we are thankful for. So I am thankful to each person who was involved in any part of meal prep to ordering groceries for making our lunch table special. Last year we ordered from a very up scale restaurant and were so disappointed in the dinner. Your turkey and gravy had great flavours and the veggies were not overcooked. Thank you for the care and the you gave in meal prep for this holiday. Wishing all those involved a very lovely Thanksgiving with their family and friends. 👍

This is not a new restaurant for me but, this experience was very new. I ordered a smoked meat sandwich with an upgrade to a poutine for my fries. The whole meal was served on a side plate. The sandwich was pathetically small and the tiny amount of fries were given a dollop of gravy and a dash of cheddar cheese for a $4 upgrade. I've eaten here multiple times in the past and have never felt this way or have been disappointed in the value. It's a sad state when a $20 meal in a diner doesn't fill your stomach. I don't plan on returning. It's too bad, I really liked this place.
Vahe V — Google review
Probably the worst service I have ever gotten at a restaurant. Once our food was dropped off we were ignored the entire time. We were not asked if we wanted coffee refills or anything else (hot sauce, peanut butter etc) which I did want. I think this is due to understaffing. Also don’t get the rye bread, it is an extremely small slice, almost laughable. Would not recommend this place and will be going to other breakfast places in the future.

Asian fusion restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant University core area of Waterloo, Bao Sandwich Bar is a delightful culinary gem that specializes in Asian fusion sandwiches. This eatery offers an enticing selection of Vietnamese Banh Mi and Taiwanese Gua Bao, served on either a crispy baguette or soft steamed bun. With a menu brimming with flavors, you can indulge in mouthwatering options like chicken katsu, bulgogi, and Peking-style roasted duck.
Great food for a good price. I would recommend checking it out if your in the area. The place is a little hidden but it is worth it.
Demora P — Google review
First time trying this hole in the wall joint recommend by a friend. Would definitely come back next time I’m in the area. 5 spice belly bao was immaculately flavoured. Katsu bao was great as well with a minor hiccup - chicken was fried perfectly but it was a little too saucy and the sauce was a little too sweet. Sweet potato fries were slightly overcooked but were still good. Nice ambience, friendly staff, and overall a good place to eat!
Mark Z — Google review
Came here for lunch - went for the 2 bao, a side and a drink option and was surprised when the bill came up to 34.7 bucks! Definitely on the pricey side.. however, the baos were surprisingly filling. Enjoyed The Great Chicken bao but the spicy pork bao was a bit salty for my taste. Did not have much room left for salad so took that home with me. For drinks - I had the peach tea salad which was quite refreshing. This place is worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for something a little different, but be prepared to fork out a bit more than you would expect for baos.
Joy N — Google review
Cute small space. Recommend highly from friends. Was not a big fan of the pork belly sandwich however the beef was amazing and French fries, top notch. Perfectly crispy! Sandwiches were loaded and fresh! Definitely will be back again. Friends had spicy pork and avocado sandwiches.
N — Google review
The fries we got were cold, and some pieces still had super cold spots inside, which was pretty unpleasant. The baos were good overall, but the duck bao I had contained a lot of fat in the meat, which made it less enjoyable. The staff was friendly, though it was really difficult to find the restaurant. Overall, not likely to return considering its quality and price.

Not your traditional Chinese bao's. Had duck which was fantastic. 10/10 Beef bulogi was great. 9/10 Pull pork was ok. 7/10 Marinated pork belly was the most traditional of all. 9/10 Place is hard to find. It is at the back of the building. There are no parking but there is some visitor and street parking if you can snatch one. Just wish it was easier to find for new customers. I had to circle around few times eventually resort to calling the restaurant. Staff was helpful on the phone in helping me identify the whereabouts of the restaurant.

got the chicken katsu, duck, and pork. 100% get the chicken katsu, so delicious and blew the other two out of the park. duck was probably the least favorite and pork was okay. if you like chicken, please get the katsu chicken!

The food was delicious and the chicken bao sandwiches are Halal. The place is hidden and you have to know where to look for it but it's definitely worth a visit.

Italian restaurant
La Cucina Pizzeria in Kitchener is renowned for its top-notch wood-fired pizza, fresh pasta, and delectable paninis. The custom-made pizza oven fills the air with irresistible aromas that draw in both locals and tourists. Whether you opt for a classic Margherita pizza or the meat lover's favorite Paesana, you're in for a treat.
Lovely place to meet up with your friends and family, if you like Italian cuisine. They have homemade pasta options and everyone of them is heavenly. The calamari in appetiser is very tasty. The portion size for both pastas and pizzas here are stomach filling. This is a core Italian place with only Italian cuisines, worth a try. It’s better to reserve your spot in this place before hand as it may be difficult to find a seat if you are planning to go for brunch or even dinner.
Sonali R — Google review
We visited La Cucina on a Tuesday evening (Pizza night), and even though it was a weekday, the restaurant was pleasantly busy—so making reservations ahead is definitely a good idea. This was our first time dining here, and we were so pleased with the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was excellent. The wood-fired pizza was absolutely delicious— perfectly crispy, flavorful, and with fresh toppings. We ordered - Capricciosa (with Chicken) and Genovese We paired our meal with wine, which complemented the food perfectly. Ordered 6 oz of Shiraz , Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot To top it all off, we indulged in dessert (Tiramisu and Chocolate Cake) which tasted really good. They were not overly sweet , the perfect moist was sweet ending to a memorable meal. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional. They close the kitchen early so please order soon. If you're looking for Italian cuisine with a cozy atmosphere and great service, La Cucina is the place to go. Highly recommended!
Synddu R — Google review
La Cucina is a really vibrant Italian pizzeria in downtown Kitchener, offering bar, inside dining and patio dining. They offer appetisers, pasta dishes, mains as well as wood fired pizza. We started with the calamari fritti which was a decent size and had a light crispy coating but needed a little more flavor to the sauce (imo). For mains, I had the ravioli al tartufo (homemade pasta with braised beef, truffle sauce and butter 🤤🤤) which was light, decadent and meaty. The truffle and butter coating made me contemplate the existence of man 🤤🤣. Honestly I would have ate about three plates of ravioli, it was that good (not a large portion!) I followed that with the suprema di pollo (sous-vied chicken supreme with garlic and herb infuser oil. The chicken was seasoned nicely, tender and juciy. The vegetables were cooked nicely and flavorful but nothing overly special. Btw, This whole time we had incredible service from Neil/Paulo who was tentative, friendly and knowledgeable of food & wine. The staff here are good at their jobs. After a little persuasion, we opted for the chocolate tartufo (chocolate icecream ball rolled in coco powder with a hazelnut center and topped with strawberries and whip cream) which was nice and velvety and delicious. Strawberries and whip cream weren't even needed, as it held on its own merit. Side note : we had drinks as well and 2 espressos at the end. Hence $$$ Food 4, service 4, atmosphere 3.5

They always surprise us with their absolutely lovely customer service and scrumptious food every single time. All the people that work here are sweethearts but NEIL is absolute cinema. We love his friendliness and suggestions. He also helped us pronounce the names of dishes , which is kinda funny .. Today was a bit special as we were here for my birthday dinner and Neil made it really special by providing chocolate cake which was on him. Our go to favourites are Margherita pizza , burrata , gamberi alla diavola & cannoli siciliani !

Reserved a table for 6 people to celebrate my Mom's 70th Birthday. We got there for 4pm when they were opening. Our booth was right by the door and literally inches beside the hostess stand. It made the table feel uncomfortable as the servers would stand talking to new customers right beside you. Appetizers and the drinks were excellent. We all agreed that the pizzas were ok. Service was good. Kind of disappointed that she didn't say anything about the Birthday. We all had presents and I had noted on the open table invite that it was for a birthday. Wasn't expecting anything, but a show of Interest from the server would have been nice. Not sure if I'd go back unless invited by others.

Everyone gather here and listen!!! If you’re going to go here get the braised beef ravioli in a black truffle sauce. I wasn’t sure what to get when I went in so my waiter, Jack, suggested the ravioli and told me the couple across from me ordered 3 plates of it. I was sold. That dish did not disappoint. Jack was such a great waiter; from solid recommendations, warm friendly energy and a brilliant smile, you’ll be sure to see me back soon. Thank you so much, Jack! Oh and the pasta is handmade in house!! Best part!

I’ve been to this restaurant 3x but after today I don’t think I’ll spend the money I have on the poor quality food I received today. The salad had Renées dressing and it says their homemade dressing. I was so disappointed! I could have packed my lunch with that. The pizza barely had cheese it was very tasteless too. I had amazing experiences when I sat in restaurant but I don’t recommend takeout.

I cannot believe that they charged me $27 for the tiniest piece of lasagna. It’s so plain nothing really in it. It was still halfway cold no bread nothing with it at all. Absolutely disgusting. How can people get away with this?

Loloan Lobby Bar is a stylish and modern restaurant that serves Southeast Asian cuisine along with a variety of alcoholic beverages. The menu features unique and flavorful dishes like Malaysian Rojak, Banh Mi Board, Gulay, and Plaa Obb. This airy and elevated eatery is known for its creative cocktails and wine selection, making it the perfect place to enjoy an exquisite meal paired with delicious drinks.
Came in for drinks and had a lovely time. Our bartender was amazing, very helpful, and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of cocktails and drinks available. There's a section on the menu for zero proof cocktails, which was amazing to see. We were too late to order food, but heard great recommendations about the menu, so we'll definitely be back. The decor is 👌, the bar doesn't feel impersonal, and the stools are very comfortable. A great spot in the heart of downtown!

Had the opportunity to try the Hummingbird Fixed course menu for our anniversary and we were blown away! From the first step into the restaurant, Jake made us feel like guests of honor without imposing. He has truly mastered the art of being present without being overbearing and beyond that, offered a lot of meaningful info as well as a calming vibe. The food... THE FOOD! Each of the 4 courses was an incredible adventure. Perfectly timed, and each telling a very different story. My partner and I ordered differently for most of the courses and sharing bites was like taking a peak at a completely different celebration of flavour. Each of the dishes was obviously created from the ground up and the taste made way only to the presentation. We also had the opportunity to be the bartender's guinea pigs for a new drink. It was so apparent that this is someone who loves what they do for the right reason. Every drink was phenomenal and the experimental cocktail was a warm and smoky mix of fine tequilas that made me wish it was on the menu so I could order another. He informed us it will be available this weekend. If you love food and appreciate ambiance as well as service, please dine here.
Adam D — Google review
An easy 5 stars all round. The service was impeccable from start to finish. There was a little mix up with the time, but Jake smoothed things over and provided excellent service. Sara was our main server and provided an outstanding experience. Don't let her young age deceive you, she is an experienced worldly soul inside. They really made our night. The food and drink were just as amazing as the service. Do not come here expecting much of a pedestrian Malay food selection. Instead be prepared to have your perceptions of food and flavours challenged. Ever seen Muscovy duck on a menu? How about a pho cocktail? Jackfruit sorbet? All of our cocktails and dishes and desserts were delicious, playful, and unique, and the presentation was amazing. You could see that everything was created and presented with great care. Although there is a more expensive price tag that comes with this, it is not any more than other upscale restaurants, and the superior service, uniqueness, and experience actually make this a better value. They also have some great tasting menus at different times that offer some great options too. Parking lots are in the area a few steps away, and some are free in the evenings.

We slipped in for a quick date night last Saturday and ended up lingering at the bar because the team was exceptional. The bartenders struck the perfect balance of professional and personable, they anticipated what we needed and were incredibly talented. Cocktails were beautifully executed and the food was top notch. A flawless experience from first sip to last bite. My husband and I will definitely be back again. 👌🏼

Literally to die for food. We had the fixed price course menu and literally every piece of it was better than I expected. Presentation, flavour, timing, everything. The loloan Bali cocktail I got was beautiful and probably the best cocktail I've ever ordered. The place is gorgeous and feels like you're at a fancy hotel in the 40's. They were even playing old jazz music which I loved. The server/host, Jake, was amazing and made us feel so special for our anniversary. Pricey but WORTH IT. Will be coming here again FOR SURE.
Merike H — Google review
We had the opportunity to try Loloan for the first time and it was a unique experience for fine dining. The atmosphere was lounge-like with an impressive bar area. Unfortunately because of the revolving door entrance in the winter time, the restaurant was a bit colder than we liked. The staff were prompt to let us know that they would increase the temperature and provide hot water with lemon which was helpful. The lighting could has also been a bit brighter, especially for those who want to photograph the display of dishes! The menu was abundant with options from many southeast asian countries (Indonesian, Filipino, Cambodian, Thai and Vietnamese). Amongst the menu there were lots of options with tropical fruits like jackfruit and pork belly. We ordered an appetizer and entree to share and two desserts as we were more intrigued with their dessert selection. I noted that we had a nut allergy and they were able to give us confidence that the meal was safe to eat even though most of the menu contained nuts. The banana flambe dessert was exciting to watch and tasted delicious. The mango sticky rice was beautifully presented and a perfect meld of creamy and sweet flavours. Overall, the dessert was more exceptional than the meal itself. The entree flavours were good, but not phenomenal for the price point. However, the service was key to the experience, and I do think this location is great for an adventure in unique flavours that are harder to find in fine dining establishments around KW. With the proximity to the main Uptown strip, I believe this is still a great location for a date or somewhere to chat with a late night cocktail/dessert.

Great Atmosphere. The is a fantastic high end dining experience without the stuffy pretentiousness. We had the four course tasting with the wine pairings and it was beyond expectation. Our server Jason was really friendly and knowledgeable. He explained how each wine complimented the flavors in the dishes. The ingredients are freshly sourced and seasonal so the menu is always changing. The thought that must go into the dishes is mind-boggling. A great experience, will most certainly be back.

I made the BEST choice in going here for my birthday back in the summer. The service was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing, and the food was even better. The best part about it was that they were so incredibly accommodating in terms of dietary restrictions! My family has a lot of different allergies and when informing the staff they told us to pick whatever we wanted off the menu and they would make it work for each of us. They exceeded our expectations and we have never felt so welcomed or so impressed.

not impressed. Third time we have come here and it will be the last. The service was so slow we were late for our show. We arrived at 6:10 and it took till 7:40 to get our main dish. Our guest ordered $11 oysters and he received three. The rock on a wood board looked good but come on. I had a diet coke for $2.50 and it was 90% crushed ice and did not include a refill. My Arctic char was good but I asked for no potatoes and more veggies. This did not happen. The service was disappointing, the costs for what you get was disappointing, the speed of service was painfully slow, the food did taste good but in the end I will not return

I've been a few times and it's incredible! From Sunday brunch to a nice dinner service and food is amazing. Brunch is fresh, with so many options available. The coffee is delicious, and I love that mimosas are included. The food options range from eggs, bacon, to fresh seafood and pastries, and more! We were celebrating my spouse's birthday and our server still gave us a sweet treat with "happy birthday" on it. He was also wished happy birthday by many other staff members that attended our table. It was very thoughtful and we felt very special. We will definitely be back as I still crave that delicious, melt in your mouth, beef short rib dinner.

I very much enjoyed my lunch here at the Cambridge Mill today. My Waitress Emma was excellent and created a positive and seamless dining experience. She is very friendly, efficient and really gave us lots of attention as she checked on us making sure we enjoyed our food and kept our waters topped right up. The food was delicious. I recommend the Burger! AAA beef, iceberg lettuce, caramelized onions, smoked cheddar. I also enjoyed the Parmesan Fries. We celebrated our 11th consecutive anniversary at this special restaurant, the very place where we were originally married. It’s become our yearly tradition, but this year’s celebration was especially memorable. Chris, our server, was truly exceptional - attentive in every detail, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening. The food was nothing short of perfect, with each dish expertly prepared and beautifully presented. A special thanks to Shaylin, whose fantastic dessert recommendation was the perfect finishing touch to our meal. Her friendly visits and infectious laughter added warmth and fun to our night. All in all, it was our best visit yet. We’re already looking forward to returning and celebrating here again next year!

Charcoal Steak House is an upscale venue known for its choice steak dishes, including ribeye and prime rib, as well as seafood and pasta options. The restaurant has been a popular spot with live music events featuring artists like Jessie T. While there were proposals for redevelopment in the area, the restaurant's management stated that their juicy cuts aren't going anywhere.
Visited this place for our anniversary dinner last night and were seated right away. The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant looked busy. Food was definitely deserving to be a 5 star, we tried the beef wellington bites which were so good and we'd never tried something like that in the region before. The Tender Blue steak and Chicken Madeira were so nicely done and flavourful that we kept talking about it through our drive back also. The steak was so nicley made to my liking and it slided through the knife when cutting it, and the blue cheese was the perfect pairing to its richness. Finished off with a great sticky toffee pudding!

We came here for a short vacation dinner, and the place was packed on a Friday evening. The patio was warmly lit with fire features, creating a cozy atmosphere, so we happily took a seat. The menu is diverse, offering everything from steak to burgers to poke bowls. We ordered the seafood risotto and the steak Diane—both were excellent. The risotto came loaded with lobster, clams, and shrimp, perfectly seasoned. The steak Diane was cooked medium to perfection, with mushrooms as the highlight. We upgraded to a truffle fries which was awesome. Portions were just right for the two of us with smaller appetites. Service was friendly, and the vibe was perfect for a Labor Day disconnect before the busy season kicks in. A wonderful way to wave goodbye to a memorable and fruitful summer.

Great service, atmosphere and food as always! Hubby and I both had the filet, and both our steaks were cooked to perfection. Super excited to see some more plant based options on the menu, with an allergy to eggs and dairy, it can be really tricky to eat out so this is a game changer! Especially on the dessert menu so I could still enjoy something sweet for my birthday 🥰

Amazing service by our waiter Caitlyn. She was a sweetheart, very attentive to our table and even helping out her coworkers. The food was fantastic, we had the beef wellington appetizer, very soft and moist. Cooked to perfection. My mom had the Bavarian dinner and myself was the Chicken Supreme. The pork was cooked and seasoned just right, vegetables still had bite, not mushy. Sauces complimented the dishes. The supreme was moist not dry. Very pleased with our first experience at charcoal. Would come again!

Moose Winooski's is a rustic eatery in Kitchener, ON that offers a variety of Canadian dishes such as burgers, BBQ ribs, and steak. The restaurant features a fantastic outdoor patio with fire pit tables and an outdoor bar, creating a Northern Ontario cottage ambiance despite its commercial location. It's also pet-friendly for those who want to dine with their furry friends.
Had a great time at Moose Winooski’s! The atmosphere was fun and cozy, with a rustic vibe that fits the name perfectly. Food was tasty—especially the onion rings and garlic bread. We also had pasta and noodles which could be better. Overall, good place to hang out with friends or family. Will definitely be back!

What a great patio, what a great atmosphere, and what a great menu! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The weather was perfect, which made it an even more wonderful day. I truly felt like I was on vacation — such a relaxing and fun vibe. Definitely a place to go if you’re looking for good food, great service, and a lively, upbeat atmosphere!

Moose Winooski's has always been a family favorite for years with the best wings and a family friendly atmosphere. A first visit for our kids, they loved the place and enjoyed the experience. The first two minutes were as expected, prompt and friendly service. Drink orders were taken and filled quickly. Dinner orders completed and as always, great food. The kids enjoyed their menu options too. The last few minutes, service started to slide and we were not the priority - at one point I wondered if they forgot about us. Busy setting up for a large party and not too busy at this time with many open seats. This was resolved and we were on our way - the last 5 minutes are as important as the first 2. As the original Moose, we will be back. Supporting Local. Enjoy!

It is great place for family or event gatherings. Patio is wonderful for sunny days! Food is delicious with decent price. The place is fully accessible and it is helpful for disability people . Facilities is a little bit old . Would be nice to have some renovations as it has been serviced for years.

Enjoyable place and good service but there were a few mixups with our orders which brings the ratings down. Would def be a good place to watch sports tho! I really enjoyed my virgin raspberry lemonade so would recommend!

Moose Winooski’s is one of those places you go to for the vibe as much as the food. The cabin-style decor and laid-back energy make it great for a casual night out, especially if you’re with family or a group. The service was friendly, and even on a busy night, they handled the crowd decently well. I tried the wings (house specialty), and they lived up to the hype—crispy, flavourful, and cooked just right. The ribs were solid too, though a bit on the sweet side for my taste. They’ve clearly made an effort to add plant-based and gluten-friendly options, which is nice to see. Overall, it’s not fine dining, but it’s not trying to be. It delivers on what it promises: hearty food, a relaxed setting, and a solid night out. Would go again—especially for wings and a game.
Aditya T — Google review
To me Moose Winooski's a true destination, literally alter my travel plans from Toronto, opting for the 401 over the 403, just to make sure I can swing by for their legendary chicken wings, an in-house delicacy I keep on my radar! My most recent visit was just as fantastic as always. I was warmly welcomed onto the patio with my dog, and the staff were incredibly kind, making sure El Mi Amor Bebe 🐾 was well looked after. And the wings? Glorious, business as usual! They're always huge and packed with flavour. Would have loved them to be soggier, but that's a personal preference for maximum sauciness! This time, I decided to elevate my side game beyond fries and went for the house chips with ketchup. What a great choice! Perfectly crispy and salty in the best possible way. I'm already looking forward to my next visit – the ribs are definitely calling my name❣️

We had our wedding at Golf’s on June 14 and it was perfect! We had the reception in the royal room, it was perfect and not crowded at all for 70 guests. George & Gus’s communication throughout the planning process and leading up to the big day was clear, professional and stress-free. On the day of, the service was fantastic - the staff were friendly, attentive and made sure both we (bride & groom) and our guests were well taken care of. The food is always very good. Several guests told us it was the best wedding meal they’ve ever had. Highly recommend this venue for weddings or any special event!

We love Golf’s Steak House and Seafood!! My husband and I were married on St. Patrick’s Day and we chose to have our reception dinner at Golf’s. Right from the very beginning George was A1 to work with. He kept in touch over the course of the following few months making sure that we were happy with everything. Our wedding was more intimate as we only had about 40 guests. We were seated in a beautiful room right off the bar, that was just perfect for the size of our guests. My husband brought the flowers/vases, cupcakes, guest signing book to the restaurant and George and his staff took care of the rest. They decorated the tables perfectly and were set up so that we could chat with everyone there and not disturb other patrons in the restaurant. Our meal was fantastic!! From the soup/salad bar to our entree, everything was spot on and absolutely delicious. We had so many compliments from our guests as to the portion sizes and the taste of the food. Everyone left satisfied and with full bellies. We had 2 waitresses that were responsible for our group. Both of them were attentive, friendly and always eager to make sure we were well taken care of. We were able to enjoy each other’s company and never did we feel rushed to leave. I am so glad that we chose Golf’s to help make our day even more special than it already was. We would choose them again for any special occasion. Pat & Shanna

Golf's Steak House & Seafood delivers great food, good drinks, and friendly service every time. The staff are welcoming and attentive, and the meals are consistently satisfying—definitely a highlight of the experience. However, the atmosphere feels outdated and old, and could really benefit from some updates to better reflect the evolving customer base and match the quality of the food. While it didn’t ruin the dinner by any means, it’s worth mentioning for those who value ambiance as part of their dining experience. Still, if you're looking for a solid meal with excellent service, Golf's is absolutely worth a visit.

Found this place while searching on Google for a nice spot to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and it turned out to be a great choice! The restaurant has a chic, classy vibe with stylish décor and just the right level of background music, loud enough to set the mood but not too much to talk over. The staff were super friendly and professional, and they really went out of their way to make our night special. We gave them a birthday cake to bring out as a surprise after dinner, and they handled it perfectly. We didn’t order a ton of food, mostly small plates and shareables, but everything we tried was delicious and nicely presented. Prices were very reasonable too, with no surprise fees or add-ons, which I really appreciate. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish. Big thanks to the team for making our evening so enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Grain of Salt Indian Cuisine is a relaxed eatery offering authentic Indian standards like vindaloo and korma. The restaurant is known for its generous lunch portions at reasonable prices, filled with traditional spices and flavors made with quality ingredients. Customers praise the pleasant and attentive staff, as well as the consistently great food and welcoming service. With ginormous portions to suit all taste buds, this classic Indian restaurant in Cambridge serves amazing dishes without excessive oil or harsh flavors.
Grain of Salt Indian Cuisine: A Culinary Gem Worth Visiting! If you're searching for authentic Indian flavors served with warmth and care, Grain of Salt Indian Cuisine is an absolute must-visit. From start to finish, the dining experience here is a delightful journey through the rich and diverse tastes of India. We began with a selection of appetizers, including crispy Pakoras, flavorful Manchurian, and perfectly spiced Paneer Tikkas. Each dish was accompanied by a variety of fresh chutneys that elevated the flavors to a whole new level. The main course was equally impressive, featuring traditional dishes like Maratha Curry, creamy Dal, and the indulgent Paneer Curry. These paired perfectly with a variety of breads, from soft Rotis to the aromatic Garlic Naans all served hot and fresh. What truly stole the show, however, was the chai—rich, aromatic, and perfectly brewed. It was the perfect way to round off an exceptional meal. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting, and the staff are attentive and welcoming, ensuring you feel like a valued guest throughout your visit. Whether you're a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Grain of Salt offers a dining experience you won’t forget. If you're in the mood for authentic Indian flavors, this restaurant should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!

Great food! Great friendly, fast service! We got 3 main dishes to share amongst four of us and there was more than enough food! Lamb Kadai, badami murgi, butter chicken.,mango lassi and masala chai were all so so good. (Excuse my spelling) definitely a great spot for upscale comfort food!
Merike H — Google review
Grain of Salt has been our go-to place for Indian vegetarian cuisine. They have most of the commonly eaten dishes but every one of them is freshly prepared and has a unique taste. They serve non-veg as well but we have never tried it. Their service is great and pretty fast. All their main course items come with either 1 naan, rice or 1 roti which make it a little economical due to less number of items to order. Last time we ordered Kadhai Paneer (which is ideally a 3 star on spiciness but they customised it to mild for us and it tasted great) along with Naan, 2 rotis and mango lassi. The Mango Lassi tasted like it should. They offer papad, mint chutney and tamarind chutney as complimentary starters. The best part is how silent it is even with guests. It is frequented by a multi-cultural population which shows how well accepted it is. I recommend it for everyone looking to try out North Indian food.

There was a wide assortment of beverages and food options, and our waiter did not hesitate to provide his opinions on what the best dishes were! The atmosphere was lovely, quiet and the restaurant was very clean. The food.. absolutely incredible. Everything tasted like it was made with love. The Keg Steakhouse + Bar in Waterloo offers a stylish yet casual dining experience with classic steak and seafood dishes. Customers have raved about the perfectly tender rack of lamb, delicious mint chimichurri, and garlic mashed potatoes. The attentive and knowledgeable servers have been highlighted as a key part of the exceptional dining experience.
The Keg in Waterloo has consistently gone above and beyond to provide an exceptional dining experience, especially for someone like me with celiac disease. They are incredibly knowledgeable and careful when it comes to gluten-free options, making me feel completely safe every time I dine there. Most times, a manager visits the table to ensure my order is handled properly, which is so reassuring. They even take the extra step of serving my plate separately from those containing gluten, which shows just how seriously they take food safety. As for the food, it’s absolutely incredible! The steak is always cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. I always start with a Caesar salad (no croutons, of course), and it’s consistently fresh and delicious. The Keg doesn’t just provide great food; they offer peace of mind for those of us with dietary restrictions.

Excellent place for a steak meal. Food was very good as has been my experience at all Kegs. Service was friendly but maybe a bit slow. We had a trainee helping our server and both did well. I do find Kegs to be quite dark in general. Overall still a great place for steak.
Mike B — Google review
First time ever being disappointed at the Keg. The classic Keg caesar salad had a strange tang to the dressing and the dressing was loaded on the lettuce. A couple of pieces for the salad were brown. It was unbelievable. There were way too many croutons and the parmesan cheese was tasteless and shredded really thin instead of the nice big, tasty chunks of parm. The waitress said this is the way they serve their caesar salad now. I had it a couple of months ago in Niagara and it wasnt like this. You could hardly taste any of the crab in the Mushroom Neptune. The mushrooms were super small and it just tasted like cream cheese. My son's plate had cold fries. Even though my bill was wrong, I still gave a good tip. I unfortunately, don't see myself going back to the Keg, for a while. I will definitely be booking elsewhere next month for my family dinner.
Jocelyn F — Google review
I like the food here, many options and great atmosphere! The bread is also really good and we always love it! Wish they had the roast but unfortunately it was sold out when we went!

The food was wonderful, all cooked perfectly. Nothing was too intense, in terms of flavour or texture, and the portions were generous. Special shoutout to Rachel, who acted as server for my meal. When we are talking about hidden gems .. THIS IS IT! The food tonight was outstanding. There are quite a few Italian restaurants in the region but not many that make their own pasta fresh every day. This is the closest I have felt to being back in Italy. Best tomato sauce hands down. We had a large group there tonight and the staff did such a fabulous job. Great spot for a night out with friends or even a large group. Will be back for sure

We joined some friends at their favourite local Italian restaurant and it was good. Glass bottles of cold water are on the tables for you to serve yourself (which I like). The pasta dishes came with a thin slice of toasted garlic bread in lieu of a bread basket. The Rosetta was delicious and I highly recommend this dish. Exactly how Nonna would have made it, in my opinion. The pasta in the Rosetta was buttery and light, the sauce perfect. The spaghetti and meat sauce was good. Portions were moderate. The thin crust Godfather pizza, with meatballs, pepperoni and sausage, made in their wood oven pizza imported from Italy, was also good. Our companions were hoping for extra Parmesan to be offered, although chili flakes were eventually provided when requested. There’s a popular bar area with high tops at one section, and regular tables fill the rest of the room, complete with the straw bottom wine bottle with the candle burning on top- adding to the authenticity of this place. Recommend reservations for weekends and I understand they can accommodate larger parties with notice. Free parking, located in a strip mall, easily accessible.

Del's Italian Kitchen offers elevated Italian cuisine, featuring delicious hearth-baked pizzas, a diverse selection of cocktails and wine by the ounce, all served in a stylish and artfully designed setting. This restaurant is highly recommended for a delightful dining experience. On our visit on a Thursday night date night while the kids were with Grandma, we couldn't resist indulging in their irresistible bread and butter offering.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our 19th anniversary. The restaurant was busy but the staff were doing their best to make sure everyone was having a wonderful night. It took some time for our waiter to realize we had been seated but once she did everything went smoothly. Our non-alcoholic drinks arrived and they were both delicious. They were able to accommodate our request for no alcohol in our dishes which was tricky considering wine vinegar is used in their tomato sauce. Instead they made our dishes with a cream sauce which was just as delicious I'm sure as the original. Thank you for making our night special and we look forward to returning ❤️.

Arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday without reservation and they were already completely full and had no suggested wait time. However after a bit of digging, they were able to fit us in between some reservations - We really appreciated it!! The food was absolutely delicious!! Everything was very fresh and homemade. The bread for the table was a great surprise. It came with fresh whipped garlic butter and cinnamon butter - both very yummy. And when we cut into the bread, steam billowed out; it was clearly fresh out of the oven. I would definitely eat here again, great food, service and ambiance!

Met up wit a friend for dinner here this past weekend. The parking lot is shared by the Del's, the steakhouse and the hotel. There's plenty of parking. To enter you can go into the main doors (below the sign for the steakhouse) then go down the circular staircase or find the outdoor staircase and walk through the patio to find the hostess station. The service wasn't prompt but it was friendly. It was really nice to have a full plant based menu available to choose from and they can also accommodate gluten free requests. The pizza had nice flavour combinations. The patio has a nice set up and heaters.

Breanna was our server and took good care of us. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and we got a table near the kitchen and saw them making everything with such good care. The complimentary house made bread started the things off with a bang. Still cannot decide which one of the 2 butters were better, they were both exceptional. Tried the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Tetrazzini, Honey Ginger Fizz and a slice of Vanilla Cheesecake. Everything was 10/10 perfect. PLEASE GO HERE This restaurant is ~amazing~ in every way. The food was delicious. The waiters were attentive, nice, and just plain great at their jobs. The atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. I took pictures of my food because I knew I was going to be leaving a review! I have nothing bad to say. Nothing could have made my meal better because it was perfect. I will come back to Canada just for this restaurant.

I went to this place with my family and it was fantastic. We had a reservation, and although our drinks took a little while, the server was very nice and made sure we always had refills. The restaurant is crowded and the table setup is a little odd, but the food is amazing. My brother and I both got tetrazzini; his with seafood and mine with chicken. Mine was a bit less saucy, but both were delicious. The portions are generous and definitely worth the price. I would come here again!

Excellent spot for dinner. We arrived early on a Saturday (5:30pm). Host stand were gracious and accommodating. Sat us within minutes. Table service was slow and spotty. Our server was very pleasant but not overly Efficient. She was seen many times standing around chatting with other team members even though we had been told by the host that the table was needed for a reservation an hour after we were seated. Food was outstanding - highly recommend the butternut squash pasta, meatball with spaghetti and pizza. Skip the cannoli - nothing special here.

Nestled in Kitchener, the Concordia Club is a charming German establishment that exudes an old-world ambiance, perfect for those seeking a taste of Bavaria. This beloved venue serves up hearty homestyle dishes like schnitzel and offers generous portions at reasonable prices. The inviting atmosphere features dark wood accents and friendly staff dressed in traditional attire, creating a nostalgic experience for diners.
My husband and I visited as my husband is German. Best German food we have ever had! Delicious and authentic! We had the Wiener schnitzel and the Concordia platter with a side of potato salad. Absolutely amazing!

I went to first time it was nice and great food. I forgot what is called it was under the schnitzel had German hot potatoes salad. It was so delicious. Definitely I'll order again. They had weekly specials. So, it's nice and good idea. Service was 3 star because waitress forgot pop. So, we asked when we pay (because we didn't drink but if they charge it we have to tell them). She just totally forgot. It wasn't changed. We got glass of water when we sit down the table so it was okay. Only this one. But, the other servicewas good. And already made it Oktoberfest tent beside the restaurant. We'll get tickets and then come back again!

Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood, Morty's Pub is a beloved destination for those craving classic pub fare like wings and burgers. With multiple TVs showcasing sports events and inviting patio seating, it’s an ideal spot to unwind with friends. Many locals rave about their incredible wings, which are known for their impressive size and mouthwatering flavors. The Santa Fe Salad is another standout dish that leaves diners amazed by its generous portion.
Let me start by saying we ordered the wings. We ordered too much. Didn't realize the wings would be so large. If you like plump wings, you'll like this place. I don't, I like the slim wings. Putting that aside, the wings were tasty, just not my style. The wife liked them. Had the onion rings too, good hot, but left an oily after-taste when cold.

Stopped to grab some food before our sons football game. SO THANKFUL we landed at such an awesome spot. The food was amazing we had the wings ( INSANE ) the Santa Fe Salad ( UNREAL and SO BIG) The staff were amazing as we were in a rush and our Server Kuira was prompt, helpful and so wonderful!! The DRINKS !! WOW A picture worthy Caesar and an AMAZING Peach Sangria ! The cherry on the cake was the absolute reasonable prices! All this while we rocked the wrong shade of purple! 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐲'𝐬 As someone who thoroughly enjoys wings, I discovered Morty's through my colleagues. Intrigued, I decided to pay a visit and it surpassed all my expectations when it comes to satisfying my craving for wings. The quality of wings served at Morty's is exceptional; in fact, I have never encountered wings of such impressive size, tenderness, and deliciousness before. The flavors infused into their wings are truly remarkable. It was, without a doubt, the best wings experience I've ever had. Additionally, the staff at Morty's were incredibly helpful. On Thursday nights, they offer a wings special where you can get 10 wings for $13.99. I simply adored this place and highly recommend it to others. I can't wait to return for another visit.

I ordered take out and picked up the food. The non breaded wings were terrible. Hardly any sauce on the wings and no extra sauce on the side.. Looked like raw chicken wings. I ordered 18 wings (honey garlic and medium). We also ordered a poutine. The fries hardly had any cheese on them. We spent $57 in total and it was a waste of money. My son wouldn’t eat the poutine or the wings. Don’t order take out or you will be disappointed.

Went for lunch today with coworkers. When we arrived there was no one there, the place was practically empty. We waited almost 10 minutes to be able to place a drink order. We then waited again to be able to order food, much longer than seemed reasonable. We waited for food, all of us finishing our drinks while we were waiting that's how long it was. No one checked in to see if we wanted more drinks. Looked at our watches and realized we have been there over an hour already. One of us popped inside and asked for the food to be boxed and the bills as we now need to go back to work. When we got the food several orders were wrong but now out of time to fix it we needed to go. We paid and went to leave. On the way out the door the stink face on the waitress was unbelievable . I probably wouldn't have bothered writing a review but that was the kind of rude that made the decision to write it. On a weekday, at noon, 5 women dressed in business casual attire it was obvious that we were not there for the afternoon and some sort of reasonable time should have been observed. To have 3 of 5 orders wrong seems a bit much too and the response of well I put it in the machine correctly instead of can we fix it...... Come on. This experience sucks because you want to support a business that has been a local staple, but at what cost? Will I return, maybe. Durring lunch hour, never.

I have been here a few times. And it’s never a bad experience. Ownership and management are friendly and always aiming to please. Wait staff are knowledgeable and hard working. Food had got to be the of my favourite sports pub food in the region. The vibe would definitely be a “regular’s” bar. But everyone is given such an amazing and welcoming experience. 10+ out of 10.

The ultimate classic pub experience! Morty's is a true Waterloo institution, and for good reason. The atmosphere is always lively, welcoming, and has that perfect local pub charm. You absolutely have to get the wings, they are legendary for a reason!

Me and my friends went there on Tuesday night. It was busy but the restaurant has a plenty of spaces. They serve different beer and cocktails. We ordered the family size of wings with four different tastes: butter hot, sweet Thai chai, chipotle honey mustard and dry cajun with a basket of fries. My favorite was sweet Thai chai and dry cajun because the other two flavors were a little spicy for me. The amount of the dish was so great for all of us. There were 18 wings in the meal. The service was good enough.

Located in the Belmont neighborhood, Janet Lynn's Bistro has been a beloved establishment since 1985. This upscale-casual Canadian eatery offers an array of creative and seasonal small and large plates. The charming interior and spacious outdoor area make it a delightful spot for dining. The menu features innovative dishes like ginger chili pork dumplings, Thai chicken, lamb burgers, and more. Guests rave about the perfectly cooked food and impeccable presentation.
I have to say I am absolutely blown away by this place. We sat at the kitchen table with Chef Nelson and had an incredible time. We had the butternut squash soup, the scallops, the pan seared fish with Saffron sauce, and a dessert platter. All of the food was delicious, and the main course really blew us away. Of all the restaurants I've tried in cities across the world, it ranks amongst my top favourite dishes. We can't wait to go back with our friends and try more off the menu. Service was great, food was amazing, and Chef Nelson was an absolute gem.

I enjoyed a very nice lunch at Janet Lynn's Bistro. My waitress Natalia was very welcoming, catering and personable. I always appreciate great service. I find the food and dining experience very upscale with a magical presentation of garnishes and artistic plating by the talented chefs. The bread is warm and fresh to start with, The soup special was very flavourful, the Chicken Pasta was good, Salmon was cooked and seasoned to my liking. I enjoyed the meat pizza with a aioli dip. I had enjoyed the Gazpacho soup special my last visit. It was very refreshing and looking forward to having that again next summer. If you are looking to Celebrate something special, impress a business associate, romantic date or just to treat yourself, I highly recommend!!

Service was excellent- server was fully knowledgeable about the menu and thoroughly discussed and explained each menu item. Food was excellent - the presentation alone makes everything look tasty. I had the mahi mahi and carrot cake (pictured). Others that I dined with were fully satisfied with the liver, duck two ways, salmon, winter salad, cheesecake, and flourless cake. Janet Lynn's definitely exceeded expectations. Will definitely visit again!

This place is a must try! It was lovely and service was nice. Great space for date night, anniversary or birthday. They had live music too. The sour dough bread is delicious and the scallops were so soft and tasty. They also have creme brulee which may not be on the menu but ask them. I would definitely come back!!

We came to Janet Lynn’s for my wife’s birthday and had a great meal as always. We were a bit disappointed that they ran out of duck as it is our favorite, so we ordered the pasta of the day and the chicken breast. Both were very delicious. I had the rack of lamb which was cooked perfectly with a mustard grain coating. Very delicious. We shared a bottle of Prosecco which was perfect with our meal. Thanks to Chris our server who was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Great job!
GARY J — Google review
Been coming for many, many years and always been pleased. Solid high end cooking with quality products in a fine dining establishment. Not the restaurant for highly trending foods or very innovation cooking but still one of our favourites in the area. Lately they have live music beginning at 7 pm on Fridays which we found loud and unnecessary so you may wish to consider another dining day if that might bother you.

Sushi restaurant
Kinkaku Izakaya is a bustling Japanese restaurant located in a lively urban area, offering an all-you-can-eat menu featuring sushi, Japanese mains, and an extensive selection of sake. The restaurant prides itself on impeccable service and exceptional sushi rolls, drawing inspiration from authentic Japanese experiences to create a must-try menu. In addition to their renowned sushi, Kinkaku Izakaya also offers a variety of Japanese mains prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Excellent all you can eat restaurant! They have a lot of options to choose from and all of the dishes are tasty. My favourite dishes were the Salamon Tataki, Takoyaki, Kaarage, Korean Spicy Beef and Ebimayo (but everything was good). The staff are very accommodating and patient if you have any questions. The area itself is a bit small so I would recommend booking reservations in advance. For dessert, the Black Sesame Pudding is a must try!
Crystle — Google review
I recently visited Kinkaku Izakaya and had a mixed experience. The food is super delicious, but some dishes are quite small, including the skewers. Since it’s an all you can eat restaurant and it was my first time there, they recommended starting with one or two plates and a small number of items to try. Drinks aren’t included in the offer, so you have to pay extra for those. Also, you can’t stay longer than two hours, as they’ll ask you to leave. Be aware that you have to finish all the food you order, or you’ll be charged extra for any leftovers. There are two dining periods, with dinner hours being more expensive than lunch hours. While the idea of all you can eat is appealing, I didn’t feel like I saved money. They also put a lot of sugar in the food, which isn’t typical for some dishes I usually enjoy without sweet sauce. The pineapple juice I ordered was way too sweet to finish. Despite these issues, the ambiance is nice and clean, the service is fast, and the sushi is delicious. If you’re coming for the food, you’ll enjoy it, but be aware of the small portions, extra costs, and the need to finish everything you order.

First time here and the food didn’t disappoint. For an all you can eat, the food quality is superior. The sashimi is very fresh. Tempura is a must try. I just wish I have a bigger stomach😂.
崔琳 — Google review
This was our first time visiting this restaurant for an early Saturday dinner at 4 pm. There is a 90 minute eating time limit; we later learned that is plenty of time. Their online menu is mobile friendly and very easy to navigate and read; same applies to their in house menu. The restaurant is licensed to serve alcohol. There is 2 hour free parking on the street. Our server and service was absolutely perfect. Service was fast, they were very attentive and we didn't have to wait long for the food. The menu is all you can eat. There is a huge assortment of different foods items to choose from. Too many to go through all so we chose the best and the worst... The Spring rolls were meh...too much wrapper and not much filling and were bland. Definitely do not recommend them. Karaage was a bit bland, the coating was very thick and found it a bit on the oily side. These are the only 2 items we had that we werent impressed with. Calamari was crispy but a few pieces were a bit chewy because it was over cooked but overall tasted good. Highly recommend the miso soup. A nice little bowl of delicously seasoned soup. Salmon, bc tuna and snapper sashimi were perfect; buttery and smooth. The wasabi is nice and strong and the pickled ginger is fabulous. Definitely recommend the bacon wrapped asparagus, beef with enoki mushroom, carpaccio, beef and chicken skewers, deep fried tofu, steak plate, short ribs and spicy beef - although the spicy beef had good flavour we didnt notice any spice at all. The interior of the restaurant was clean and well maintained. The chair's seating and bench seating is not padded and not very comfortable. The tables are a nice larger size. Payment is done at the front counter. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.

Nice little sushi shop…. Looks almost traditional. Clean and bit decorated. Service is very friendly and attentive. Server came end explained the menu. Food comes in fast and steady and it’s nicely presented on the plates. If you like Japanese cuisine it’s definitely worth trying as they have couple things I didn’t experience at another place. Definitely on more pricy on the spectrum but… it’s how things are now. Ordering could be made easier by using a tablet like most places now. We did enjoy everything however.
Wasabi — Google review
Nice little place. I don't usually like all you can eat places, but this place was ok. Service is great (once we figured out how ordering operates). You get a piece of paper with menu items to order. Tuna was terrible, Salmon was "meh", stick to "you can go wrong" teriyaki (just avoid beef) and tempura. Really good Takoyaki. Very polite servers. I did a little research on prices and it looks like these kinds of restaurants keep almost exactly the same pricing across the board. Passable.
Klopataralo — Google review
The appetizers, sashimi and desert were great. The rolls were average, nothing special. The meat was tender but needed flavour. The crème brûlée 10/10. Service is good. The water had a strange flavour so we didn’t drink it.

Restaurant
Nestled in a humble strip mall, The Bent Elbow is a hidden gem for craft beer lovers seeking a relaxed atmosphere. This pub stands out with its impressive array of 23 taps and the only cask engine in the area, showcasing owner Harold Kroeker's passion for local brews. Guests can explore an extensive selection of beers, including unique offerings like homemade ketchup beer, all while enjoying freshly prepared casual bites.
After years of being told about this place I finally had the chance to pop my head in yesterday. Honestly I wish I would have had more time to stick around. I was greeted very kindly at the door, by a man I found out later was the owner. It definitely looked like "regulars hour", so it was obvious I was a newcomer. That didn't stop the staff and the folks at the bar from being super welcoming. Since I was on my own I decided to sit at the bar, was shown the Beer "Bible", which for a place like this, is necessary. They have a huge selection both on tap and in cans/bottles. It was great to see a mix of Ontario (shout out Farm League and Blood Brothers! among others) and imports from around the world. Nothing boring and generic like Coors Light. Both bartenders serviced me, asked at exactly the right time if I was ready for another beer (which I was), and were friendly and easy to joke around with. The regulars were really welcoming as well, and one Gentleman actually offered to buy me a pint, since it was my first time there. Totally unnecessary, but much appreciated. Had an opportunity to speak more with Harold, the owner, before I left. Incredibly generous and genuine man. This is a quaint and unpretentious bar with a small town feel (in the best way possible), like Cheers, where everybody knows your name! I didn't have a chance to order food, but I will next time I'm in. I will definitely be back to support this spot.

Absolutely amazing! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was incredibly flavorful and presented, and the service was warm, attentive, and genuine. One of the things we really appreciated is that they cook only with beef tallow, lard, and olive oil — no seed oils whatsoever. It’s rare to find a place that cares this much about quality and ingredients. Far beyond just good or great — it was truly exceptional. We’ll definitely be back!
Gary ( — Google review
Awesome under the radar local gem; food is excellent quality (food menu rotates seasonally); beer is next level with eclectic variety and 39 taps, atmosphere? BB King was playing... The Bent elbow has my highest recommendation
Rainer N — Google review
Music is wonderful and down low enough that you can hear it but it doesn't take over the room. Pleasant and welcomed surprise. The server brings their book of beers and you get a complete description of each. It takes a while to decide! Food is excellent. Fries done in beef tallow. If you have never tasted the difference you don't know what you are missing.
Margaret T — Google review
I had one of the best evenings of my life here, definitely the best I’ve ever had in North America. From the very beginning, the service was outstanding: the waitress took great care of me, always asking how I liked the beer and helping me choose the next one. She really paid attention to my wishes. As the evening went on, I started chatting with the locals, and as a German visiting Canada, I felt incredibly welcome. The conversations were fun, warm, and genuine. Toward the end of the night, even the owner came out to join us, and we had a fantastic talk about life, the differences between Germany and Canada, and so much more. It wasn’t just about drinks, it was about the atmosphere, the people, and the feeling of being part of something special. This place made me feel at home on the other side of the world. Absolutely sensational experience. Five stars without a doubt.
Julien — Google review
This place is a gem in KW. They have 30-something taps, tons of beer cans, their variety is superb, the food is simply delicious. Also the bar decor is unique and inspiring, and the atmosphere is very chill. Harold and staff cook great food, serve great beer, and are always friendly!

Love their wings, the homemade blue cheese dressing is what keeps me ordering them! They always have a great selection of beer 🍺 One star off atmosphere because the music they play is bad! We hate jazz lol Otherwise, I would highly recommend this place if you can overlook that aspect of it! ☺️
Dianne J — Google review
This is truly a pub with good grub! Everything is prepared fresh daily so don’t be surprised if your daily favorite is not available... The beer list alone is worth the trip here! You will definitely find a favorite or two with varieties they carry. Word of warning, parking can get a little harry as making your way in and out is not the easiest of endeavours but then it’s well worth the trip there for the food AND beer and sharing a few stories with friends

Nestled in a cozy corner, Veslo Family Restaurant is a charming family-run establishment that brings the flavors of Europe and Canada to your plate. With its inviting retro decor featuring wooden panels and comfortable booths, it’s the perfect spot for family gatherings or a casual meal. The star of the menu is undoubtedly their Gypsy Schnitzel—crispy on the outside and tender within, topped with roasted tomatoes and peppers that add a delightful tangy twist.
Great food. Tasty. We had a goulash soup and a platter for 4 which was enough for 5 people and a toddler to share. We also had a custard pie and a Russian hat dessert which were fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area, are looking for some tasty home cooked meal and enjoy Serbian/eastern European food.

Incredible delicious food. I was so craving a great schnitzel and Veslo delivered one of the best or maybe the best I have ever had. Service was amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The schnitzel was huge and flavourful, the preparation was perfect. I highly recommend Veslo, I have not had schnitzel this good anywhere. It was so good I ordered the Combo for two to share with my family, I wanted them to enjoy it and they loved it as well. The portions are huge so great value.

I don’t really want to give this restaurant five star review. Well, I do, but if I do, this amazing, well kept secret, will get out and more people will check them out and then it won’t be a secret anymore. We found this place by accident two years ago and we’re blown away! We returned today and were blown away again. The food is scrumptious! The service is incredible and the atmosphere is quaint and charming. I can’t recommend this place enough if you want an amazing experience. Our eight year old (who is a big foodie) could not stop complimenting her meal (neither could my husband and I). I highly recommend getting a platter so you can try everything! We definitely won’t be waiting two years to return again. Thank you for an amazing lunch today!

This place is amazing! Food was so good and I was overwhelmed by all of the vegetarian options. I ended up getting the vegetarian platter so I could try a bit of everything. They even had a kids menu so my child could have something more catered to him as well. Food takes awhile since everything is made fresh so make sure to arrive about 45 minutes before you want to eat. Highly recommend the margaritas.

Missing home? Well, we have another recommendation for authentic food, this time from the heart of El Salvador! On a hunt for a new place, we came across The Guanaquita Restaurant (273 King St W 2nd Floor, Kitchener, ON N2G 1B9). A delightful upstairs spot for Salvadoran fare, this delightful eatery has easily become one of my top choices for an affordable dinner in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. Onto what we ordered! The Vegetarian Enchilada plate was a true comfort. Picture a rich, cheesy filling of spinach and mushrooms wrapped in a soft tortilla, topped with a velvety tomato sauce and a drizzle of sour cream. The side of Mexican rice and beans added the perfect balance, and those two crunchy nachos? A delightful bonus! It was a hearty, flavorful dish that really hit the spot. Then came the Chicken Tacos. Soft, warm tortillas cradled a mix of tender chicken, vegetables, sour cream, and guacamole – each bite bursting with fresh flavor. The tangy sauce served on the side took it to the next level, adding a delightful kick. And, okay, we’ll admit it… we couldn’t resist dessert! The churros were served hot and crispy, generously sprinkled with brown sugar, making them perfectly sweet. The rich chocolate dip on the side was so decadent, I had to remind myself that I was full. But who can resist when churros taste like heaven in a bite? Certainly not us! To hear more about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, & LinkedIn✨🤩🙏

The food is good quality with good portion sizes. The menu has plenty of choices but it's very confusing, difficult to understand, and hard to read. The service is so bad though. I've been there multiple times and they're always slow and not attentive, but today was so bad I have to write a review about it so others are aware not to go here just for that. I waited like 20 minutes to get a waiter to order, even after I got tired of waiting and got up to tell them I'm ready. Then I waited 1.5 hours to get my food after I ordered. Don't go here because their service is so bad.

Was visiting Kitchener-Waterloo for the weekend with my wife and son. Saw all the reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. Ordered the combination platter (take out) for my wife and I and we weren’t sure as to what to expect but we enjoyed every bite of what we ordered. Would recommend this place to give it a try!

I've been told by multiple people to come here and it did not disappoint. Service and atmosphere were great and the food was AMAZING. I recommend the Guanaquita platter as it let's you sample all of the specialties on their menu at once. This is definitely going to become a regular in our restaurant rotation!

We had a good quality time with friends here. Mango Chamoy is the best drink one can ever ask for, specially during this summer. Trust me, I chugged down 2 full glasses of Mango Chamoy (extra spicy) 🌶️🌶️. It was tangy and refreshing. Adding a picture to help you decide for yourself.

I’ve been here so much that I can’t keep track. The staff is so friendly and it’s nice being able to customize your plate to your appetite/liking (though as you can see I usually get the guanaquita platter 😋). Highly recommend!

Pupuseria Latinos is a cozy, family-owned restaurant in Kitchener that offers a taste of home with its diverse flavors of Salvadoran cuisine. The menu features traditional favorites like pupusas, refried beans, enchiladas, and tamales. The signature dish, pupusas, are pancake-like corn flour rounds filled with delicious toppings such as cheese, beans, and meat.
This place is SOOO good!! I would definitely come here often if I lived in the area. Everything we had was so delicious! If you like earthy tasting things like black sesame, highly recommend trying their horchata drink.

Absolutely delicious pupusas, birria tacos, and tres leches cake. They also have fresh squeezed juices. Small dining area so you might have a wait if you want to dine in, but such a hidden gem with a true authentic feel. Friendly and hardworking staff. Added to my list of favourites for sure
Kelsey B — Google review
Absolutely amazing! We tried 3 pupusas (zucchini & cheese, beans & chicharrón & cheese, and beans & chicharrón & cheese) and each was packed with flavor—cheesy, savory, and perfectly seasoned. We also had the breakfast enchiladas and plantains, and everything was spot on. Authentic flavors with the perfect level of spice, especially with their habanero sauce. Great prices for such delicious food. It’s like a little taste of South America without having to cross the border. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing and I’d love to come again. Their pupusas, quesadillas, and Birria Tacos are to die for. DO NOT skip out on their Tres Leches Cake!

So glad we found this little gem in Kitchener! Absolutely loved their food. The birria tacos were spot on! Will definitely come again

This was my first experience eating pupusas, and what a great experience it was! Pupusaria Latinos has a great vibe. The vibe is incredibly cozy and casual. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was super fast. The flavors of the pupusas themselves were incredible! I tried three flavors and all were spectacular. If you're looking for delicious Latino food and a cozy and comfortable atmosphere, be sure to check this place out!

Food and service was amazing. The place wasn't busy at all. I went when everything started to open up. You must go around to the second door if you want to eat in. I ordered pupusas, enchiladas, corn tamale, and tacos Birria. The enchilada is not what I expected. It was served on a big chip rather than it being wrapped with chicken and cheese with a lot of sauce. It was still so good. I was told that is how they make it. I Definitely was not mad! This place is a family owned business with really good food. I would definitely come back for more!!

Amazing place with delicious food at very affordable prices. Birria tacos are good and the enchiladas are really tasty. The beef soup was one of the best I've had, filled with so much flavour!

Korean BBQ Restaurant is a small and inconspicuous eatery offering a diverse selection of Korean and other Asian dishes. Their menu features popular favorites such as galbi and teriyaki, but it is the Hot Stone Bibimbap that stands out with its combination of fresh crunchy rice, sizzling beef, and a perfectly cooked egg. Each plate at this restaurant presents a delightful blend of different textures and unique flavors, creating an artful dining experience.
The food here is fresh, hot and savory. I had the Soft Tofu Stew and I loved every bit of it. It packs flavor and melts in your mouth. I mixed it with the rice I got alongside the dish. I had such a good meal. The pickles were so delicious 10/10 my favorite was the sweet pickles :) I highly recommend the Soft Tofu Stew dish! The people working here were really kind to me and the inside space is decorated well. You have to try this place if you are in Kitchener it’s underrated. Great spot to dine solo, with someone & as a group. Sweet restaurant 💜

I visited this Korean restaurant and tried tteokbokki, jjamppong, and bulgogi rice bowl. All of them tasted good and reminded me of real Korean food. The tteokbokki was a little spicy but also sweet, and the rice cakes were soft and chewy. The jjamppong was my favorite. The soup was very tasty and full of seafood and vegetables (+pork.) I enjoyed it so much that I finished everything. The bulgogi rice bowl also tasted nice, and the vegetables and rice were fresh and well-mixed. The people there were kind, and the place felt clean and comfortable. I think it’s a awesome place to have Korean dishes in Kitchener, and I want to come back again especially for the jjamppong.

I heard the ownership had changed, so I came to visit for my favorite Korean pork bone stew. The flavor is just as good as before, and the new owner has added a bit more chili oil to enhance the appetizer. She’s a young woman and very friendly to everyone. I'm really glad to see this place has maintained its quality — and even improved!
Ecan Y — Google review
We came here a year ago, and we wanted to come again due to having great food the last time. When we went the first time, the place was owned by a cute elderly Korean couple. Since then they seem to have retired and it looks like ownership has changed. The tables have been renovated. The good news is that the food is still excellent. We enjoyed the two of the three sides dishes: kimchi and bean sprouts. However the pickled radish was purple. This was not as appetizing due to how artificial the colour looked. The delicious spicy pork bone soup was served with rice, and there was plenty of pork bone offered in the soup. We also ordered the braised bomb egg which had a clean taste, and it was still boiling in the stone bowl for some time. Overall, we still recommend the Korean BBQ Restaurant. We didn’t eat too much this day as we were full from the afternoon, but the prices were very reasonable and ended up paying around $33 for two. We will definitely check out other dishes on the menu sometime!
Elpsy C — Google review
This was a mom and pop shop with them hard at the work! They have home-made kimchi (a bit spicy) and the chicken gingsen soup (a little too much sticky rice for me). The Cold noodles is really good but only available during the summer. Bimbimbap did not stick to the bottom of the stone bowl. Seafood pancake was a little mushy but had great taste with the sauce.

Farmers' market
Nestled in the heart of Ontario, St. Jacobs Farmers' Market is a vibrant year-round destination that captures the essence of country charm. This bustling marketplace has evolved since its humble beginnings in the 20th century, now sprawling over an impressive 3,200 square meters and welcoming nearly a million visitors annually. Here, you can find everything from fresh produce—like juicy peaches and pickling cucumbers—to unique crafts and antiques.
A vibrant and lively market worth visiting! This market offers a wonderful selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, alongside unique handmade and locally sourced products. You’ll also find a variety of food vendors representing different cuisines — a few stalls even cater to vegan and vegetarian diets. The food court area can get crowded, especially around lunch hours, so be prepared for lines at popular spots. There’s often live entertainment, which adds to the atmosphere and makes the visit even more enjoyable. It’s a busy place, especially on weekends and holidays, so I recommend planning your visit early in the day. Seating can be limited during peak times, but there are usually some shaded spots to relax. Most vendors accept card payments, but it’s always a good idea to carry some cash just in case. On-site parking is available, but it can be a bit of a wait to find a spot — think Costco-level patience. Street parking in nearby areas may also be an option depending on the time of day. Public restrooms are available, and the entire market is family-friendly. You can easily spend a couple of hours here browsing, eating, and soaking in the atmosphere. Overall, a great place to explore, eat, and support local businesses!
Rashmi S — Google review
St. Jacob’s Farmers’ Market is by far one of the best markets in Ontario and a must-visit for anyone in the Waterloo region. The design of the market is clean, spacious, and very well organized, making it easy to walk through and explore. It’s a large market with an incredible variety of foods, drinks, handcrafted items, antiques, and specialty goods. There’s truly something for everyone here, and it’s the kind of place you can spend hours browsing. What really stands out is the atmosphere – it’s fun, lively, and family-friendly. Families with kids will find plenty of things to enjoy, from watching food being made fresh to sampling delicious treats along the way. The energy of the vendors and the friendliness of the staff make the experience even more enjoyable. Food lovers will not be disappointed. I highly recommend trying the pasta served in a parmesan cheese wheel – rich, creamy, and unforgettable. The fried apples are another must-try, perfectly crispy and sweet. Pair these with a cup of freshly brewed coffee from one of the many stands, and you’ll feel like you’re in food heaven. Beyond the prepared foods, you can also pick up fresh produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and unique handmade products to take home. Overall, St. Jacob’s Farmers’ Market is a wonderful blend of tradition, quality, and community. Highly recommended!

I’ve been to this farm market multiple times, and it’s easily one of my favorite spots. It’s a really nice and popular place where you can find tons of great organic and local products. Honestly, I’m even considering driving here once a month from Toronto just to stock up on veggies. Prices are pretty reasonable, but it’s worth shopping around a bit since some vendors have better deals than others. Most things are sold in larger quantities, which might be tricky if you don’t have much storage space, but the quality is excellent, everything’s super fresh, and it’s hard not to buy everything in sight! Parking can be a bit of a hassle, though. I recommend parking across the street in the antique store’s lot and walking over, it saves a lot of time and stress. Definitely try to avoid weekends and holidays if you can, because it gets very crowded. Here’s a tip: in the last hour or two before closing, many vendors start offering discounts, so you can snag some really good deals. The lineup for the famous apple pie shop is always crazy long, expect to wait 45 minutes to an hour. If you can, go on a weekday or send someone from your group to hold your spot. Food-wise, the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich from the Amish ladies’ stand is a must-try. The loaded fries are another favourite, not exactly healthy, but super tasty and big enough to share with 3–4 people. And if you’re driving from Toronto, it’s also worth checking out the antique store across the street. You’ll find lots of cool vintage and one-of-a-kind items there.

St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market is a must-visit destination in the Waterloo region. It is conveniently located and easy to reach by car, with direct access from major city roads. However, despite having a large parking area, finding a spot can still be challenging during peak hours—especially on weekends and market days—so plan to arrive early. The market has a lively, friendly, and authentic community atmosphere. One of the most unique aspects of St. Jacobs Market is the visible presence of the local Mennonite community. Many Mennonite farmers and artisans sell their products here, bringing a charming traditional touch to the market experience. You will often see horse-and-buggy transportation nearby, and many of the vendors offer high-quality, fresh, and handmade goods that reflect the Mennonite values of simplicity, authenticity, and craftsmanship. Product selection is excellent: farm-fresh produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, maple syrup, eggs, handmade crafts, preserves, flowers, clothing, and a variety of specialty foods. Many products are locally sourced, and the quality is consistently impressive. Prices range from reasonable to slightly premium depending on the vendor, but the freshness, artisanal value, and local support make it worthwhile. Overall, St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market delivers a memorable and culturally rich experience. The mix of vibrant crowds, local farmers, and Mennonite heritage creates a uniquely warm and authentic environment. Come early, enjoy the local flavors, and take time to appreciate the traditional community presence. Definitely worth the visit!

Allow yourself lots of time because there's a lot to see and a lot to eat! It was my first time there and it was quite busy, I'm not sure if it's like this all the time but the weather was great and it's a long weekend. Tons of vendors, indoors and outdoors. From fresh fruits, veggies, flowers, baked goods to artistic vendors and your typical trinkets. I wasn't able to try the famous fritters from the market due to waiting too long but we would definitely return. I imagine Fall is beautiful here!
Erin D — Google review
St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market in Kitchener is one of those rare places that perfectly combines tradition, community, and great food. Every visit feels like a little adventure. The market is full of energy — from the friendly local vendors to the smell of fresh baked goods and grilled foods filling the air. It’s not just a shopping trip; it’s a full cultural experience that brings people together. What I love most about this market is the amazing variety. You can find everything from farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats to local honey, handmade crafts, jewelry, and home décor. The baked goods are fantastic — especially the pies, pretzels, and pastries. There are also many international food stalls offering everything from Lebanese shawarma to German sausages. The outdoor area during summer is especially lively, with musicians and extra stands that make it even more enjoyable. The vendors are genuinely friendly and proud of what they sell, which makes the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Prices are fair considering the quality and freshness of the products. Parking is free and well-organized, although it can get busy on weekends, so going early is a good idea. Nearby, you can explore the charming St. Jacobs Village with its small shops and cafés, making the whole trip even better. Whether you go for groceries, breakfast, or just to enjoy a walk, St. Jacobs Market is absolutely worth visiting — a true highlight of the Kitchener-Waterloo region.

If you plan to visit, I’d recommend starting your trip by taking the Waterloo train ride and visiting the charming village of St. Jacobs first. On your way back, stop by the Farmers’ Market , the main red building has plenty of food stalls and local vendors. Many booths are new, so it’s not exactly the old-fashioned local vibe I expected, but still worth a visit. Inside, some Mennonite families run lovely stands , there’s even a big map at the entrance where tourists can pin their home countries, which I found adorable. Definitely try the locally made maple products , pure maple syrup, candies, or butter are great picks! Upstairs, there’s an antique shop that can easily make you lose track of time if you love vintage treasures. Outside, you’ll find more stalls selling produce ,not all of them are local, but if you go later in the day, many vendors offer discounts on fresh fruits and veggies. Don’t forget to grab some farm eggs before you leave! 🥚🍁

Very cozy and comfortable area. Server and bartender were very welcoming and explained menu well. Ambience of restaurant was peaceful and calming. I ordered the 8oz beef burger with blue cheese, guacamole, sauteed mushrooms and it was great! Would order again next time with different toppings to try them all out. Prices are not steep and daily specials are enticing. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

The atmosphere of this place is very nice, calm and dimly lit. The customer service has been excellent both times I've been here and their selection of cakes is mouth watering. The food looks amazing, however the actual quality of the food is hit or miss. I will probably come back - not because of the food but because their staff makes your eating experience great.

Food was good but service is way too slow. We reserved a large table two weeks in advance and when we came it took about 15 min to be seated and to set up the table. Then it took 2 hours for us to GET our food. We only had one server for a table of 18 and always had to reach out to get their attention if we wanted drinks or anything else. Dissapointed with the price as well for being relatively expensive for what you get but I will say that it was tasty.

Went for drinks and dessert. Prices are okay for what you get, the quantity could be a bit bigger for desserts. Tried the Apple crumble and chai mocha latte. Both were nice, not too sweet, but again on the smaller size given the price. The server wasn't overly helpful, we ended up waiting for the bill even though we kept trying to flag them down numerous times. A chatty but calm atmosphere in the restaurant made it easy to talk amongst ourselves

This used to be a great place to have a nice coffee, app or dessert. I have no idea what has happened but this location has gone drastically down hill. I have featured a picture of the spinach dip which came out with a large synthetic cheese slice on top of it and consisted of slimy spinach and soupy liquid. The cake display that used to be the best part of the experience was basically empty. seated next to the kitchen and cash area all that could be herd from serving staff was questions about where things were located and how to do their job. a couple seated next to us waited for 15 minutes to be greeted by their server. The server was very polite and kind but seemed to have too many tables to be able to keep track of. The management staff needs to train more effectively. very disappointing :(

Just as I remember it 10 years ago, the Symposium Cafe has survived the Uptown Waterloo transformation. It's a great place to sit and chat over some drinks, food, and/or dessert, with ample seating including some couches. It hasn't changed at all over the years, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'd say that their desserts are their specialty, so it's a great stop later at night or after dinner.

Wow. What is this absolute garbage? My quinoa and bean salad, ingredients listed: Tomatoes - missing Cucumbers - missing Carrots - missing Radish - missing Red cabbage - missing Pepperoncini - missing Replaced by raw mushrooms, not listed in dish. Baby greens - replaced by lettuce Quinoa and beans - barely there My Portobello mushroom side: Portobello mushrooms - missing Replaced by - normal mushrooms Disgrace. Just because it's a delivery order you put anything in it. There's no way you would have put that together if I was there in person. It's embarrassing.
