The Lancaster Smokehouse is a popular Southern-style BBQ joint known for its live blues music and laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant offers a menu filled with homemade po' boys, smoked meat entrees, and other classic Southern dishes, along with daily and weekly specials. They pride themselves on sourcing their ingredients from Ontario farms and suppliers across the southern USA to ensure authentic flavors.
3rd time here and loved it. The fried chicken is my favorite. This time around we had Jon as our waiter and he was awesome. He answered all our questions and went above and beyond to make my belated birthday lunch with my girls extra special. Buy some of the pork rub. It's delicious on everything! Even would be delicious on popcorn! Can't wait to come back.

I always hate giving bad reviews, but I think it’s important to be honest. The food was great - but unfortunately for me and my friends it was cold We put in an order an hour advance for pickup, and when we got home half of the order wasn’t there. Thankfully the manager was understanding, and managed to deliver the other half of our order. But by then it had been 2 hours and all of it was cold. I understand that it’s busy Friday nights, but with the hour wait for pickup it’s not really an excuse :(

Delicious but way better when it's fresh! Had this place twice recently. The first time we ate it immediately and it was delicious. The second time we picked up and drove it home it was not as good from sitting through the drive. The amount of food you get is pretty decent. Only complaint is how small the mac and cheese is. It's treated like gold at BBQ places. You get a ton of cornbread and fries though. All the meat when it was fresh was delicious. Moist and tasty. I would ask for extra sauce on the side for some stuff if you like saucy. The ribs ended up a little more chewy when they sat for a bit, but still very good.

Friendly staff. Delicious food. Nice classic rock music. Couldn't ask for more. Prices a bit high but reasonable for what you get (both quantity and quality). Most of the meals are slightly too big for one person. The 2 meat platter could feed two people (I got a to-go container and had lunch the next day). Definitely recommend you check this out.

Visited on a busy Saturday night , they were hosting a wedding party upstairs. This place has outstanding food and service. Parking is limited as it's a busy spot. We reserved a table ahead of time as we were a bigger group. They were ready for our group ahead.of time which is rare at some establishments we've found. Steve P. was our server. He took care of our table of 11 as well as another table of 10 and other tables surrounding and didn't miss a beat. He was super friendly and seems like a genuinely nice guy, always smiling laughing and engaging with our table. No issues with ordering and separating bills for the couples and he had everything always organized. Lots of craft beers , we tried a few new ones for us which were great. The food came up quickly which great the tastes were amazing, totally met our expectations of a smoke house. Everything was so good!!( Getting hungry writing this review. )my wife loved the glazed charred brussel sprouts! Lots of food with great flavours. They are ready with containers for our left overs. We definitely will be back again soon. Thanks for a great experience!

I have been here probably 10 years and this place has been a must to go place with my meat-lover friends. last week’s experience worths a post: I ordered my usual item 3 meat platter, with their signature premium brisket. One piece of them is burnt, probably from the edge of the brisket. Once we showed to the them, they bring new ones without hesitation and saying that’s not their normal level and really sorry about that. I was only expecting to get one piece replaced but they bring 4 pieces! With this spirit I am sure this restaurant will last many other10 years and remain popular. Food: over the 10 years I have to say their rib level has decreased slightly. Now they are slightly overcooked and dried. And if the sauce can be on the side, it would be great. Just personal flavor thing since their sauce is heavy and sometimes too salty. However, still no other restaurants could beat them in KW region…
Jack Y — Google review
This was my first time at this place. I like to try places 3 times to be able to honestly judge the overall quality. So, with that being typed. The food was bomb. My order of brisket was awesome and tender but was slightly overcooked. It didn't have that classic, beautiful pink smoke ring. It was gray throughout. The bbq sauce was delicious. The ribs were super tender, and the garlic sausage was dope also! The place was a nice spot, casual with a classic bbq spot feel. Portions were a HEALTHY quantity, and that says a lot with my appetite. Their mac 'n' chz was on point as was their red beans and rice, a proper creole dish. I will definitely go back again, cause I think our first time was a one-off experience. Parking is tight, and reservations are recommended. Money well spent and leftovers are a great snack/meal the next day. Im trying to be honest and leave my personal feelings out of this cause I want your experience to be your own without being influenced otherwise.

Massive servings. Premium meats. Ample sides. Lively atmosphere with great live music. Efficient & friendly service. We have big appetites as it is, but last Friday evening we were completely starving so we ordered the 5 Meats Platter for just the two of us. On our platter was brisket, pulled pork, ribs, smoked wings, and sausage; four large sides of tater tots, dilly coleslaw, baked beans, and braised collard greens; and five pieces of cornbread with which to mop it all up! Everything was absolutely delicious. I recommend the "Fullilove" hot BBQ sauce if you get the wings. The portions were impressive; they did not skimp on a thing. We did, of course, end up with leftovers which we were all too happy to enjoy the following day at home.

Open until 2 a.m., this spirited house boasts an impressive selection of over 300 labels and an ever-evolving cocktail menu featuring around 20 unique creations. Each drink is meticulously crafted, whether hand-shaken or stirred to perfection.
Amazing food. Upscale pub style; the cauliflower “wings” were so delicious. Everyone at the table raved about them. The duck spring rolls were delicious. The pork belly and fish tacos were also excellent. Great drinks, great service.

Enjoyed a nice dinner at White Rabbit in March 2025. It's a short walk from the parking lot at the town square. Decor is quite tasteful and the atmosphere on a Sunday was enjoyable - had two Springsteen and two CCR songs in the rotation during the hour we were there, liked it! Food was quite delicious - we had the brussel sprouts to start and the short rib and scallop/pork belly plates for the main. The server explained they were going for a tapas approach with the menu and the entrees did feel a bit small. In retrospect I definitely would have ordered something in addition to the short rib; alone it was not enough and the sweet potato mash felt more like a sauce then a side. Nonetheless delicious. Not sure I would return for dinner but the drink menu looked quite interesting - could definitely see returning for cocktails.
J B — Google review
Very cool hangout with great cocktails. Highly recommend the in house specials (the Rabbit Rickey was fantastic) - price was great too - $10 for the best drink I had all weekend. My wife had the peach something or other (right in photo) and that was great too. A nice change from all the craft beer available on the street.

Great choice of food and cocktails served. Little pub down the uptown area. Cauliflower wings are best. Read so many reviews about tacos. Ordered sam adam cod and jerk tofu both were super tasty. Service is quick and servers are very welcoming and friendly. Would say 10/10 for everything.

The drinks are really good and unique. Pb and j margarita made my socks fall off. We got the margarita tree. Obvi. Meg was an amazing server. Loved her and she kept it real. Food was good. Wish we tried the cauliflower bites. But the wonton nachos were good!
Sarah — Google review
The vibe, the drinks, the food. Delish. I ordered the focaccia to start with honey butter - I will be dreaming of this bread. And then gnocchi for my main, so fluffy and incredible. I also had the blueberry mocktail, which was sooooo tasty. I will be back, 10/10.
Carley F — Google review
Exceptional service !! Drinks were complex and delicious -I’d recommend The Mort. Food was great - I’d recommend the wonton nachos. The short rib is melt in your mouth, but more sweet potato puree would be even better. 100% check it out!
Veesta M — Google review
The cocktails here are definitely worth venturing here for - always different and delicious. I love coming to try new ones. Bonus that the food is also really good with some gluten friendly options. Double delicious!! Atmosphere is darker but inviting with nods to Anthony Bourdain and a tile wall of pop/rock icons which I appreciated along the back. Everyone generally seems to be enjoying themselves when I’m here. Have always had a good time!

It was a great restaurant and great food but the area that really stood out for me was the service! Kyle was our server and he was EXCEPTIONAL! He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was the mixologist that created some of their signature cocktails. He was engaging and funny and enhanced the whole experience! My suggestion to the owners and management team of Proof - give this man a raise! :)

OUR DRINKS AND FISH N CHIPS WERE DELICIOUS! BOTH THE GLUTEN-FREE & STANDARD PORTIONS WERE HUGE!! We ordered our drinks just before 5 and were thrilled to be extended the Happy Hour discount from the bar! THE STAFF WERE DELIGHTFUL, EFFICIENT AND MADE OUR EXPERIENCE LOVELY. We waited a little long to be noticed and seated when the place was quiet inside. Actually had to step in to get someone's attention. High top table chairs are near impossible to pull yourself into the table with and our table was so wobbly we had to ask for it to be adjusted. Having to leave the restaurant to get to the bathroom to wash your hands etc before/during your dining experience is a little frustrating and odd to return back to your seat through the entrance past folks waiting to be seated.

This is an updated review. Second time here! So lovely, we celebrate our friend graduation here. We are a group of 8 friends that come for occasion here and enjoyed the atmosphere here. We plan to come more often as we pleased with the service. Thank you Proof team! First time: I spent an afternoon with friends here and enjoyed a dessert with chai. There are many Vega options as well for dinner as well, but I will keep it for the next time.

All of the food was pretty savoury and delicious The fries for the kids were coated in pepper, so they found them spicy. Only complaint. Service was great and friendly servers Love the ambiance

went here for dinner last night and it was okay The restaurant itself is very clean and it’s very nice inside with the dimmed lights . The outside area looks very nice as well. Started off with the grilled calamari and it was different for sure, I wasn’t a big fan of it but it was alright I got the Original Burger I think that’s what they call it and it was very good, Good flavouring on it and it was a decent size burger too. The fries as well were very good and definitely some of the better fries i’ve had at a restaurant. I would say the biggest thing that really kinda ruined the dinner was the amount of flies and bugs that were flying around us all night, I understand that it is hard to control that as it is basic nature but it definitely was something that was getting gross as they would land around the food and the drinks Definitely a place I would go for drinks with some friends if I drank 5/10

From the welcoming smiles at arrival throughout our dinner, service was outstanding. Appetizers were superb including new on the menu: Fried Burrata Pomodoro. Loved the Chimichurri Salmon + Fresh Couscous Salad, Fish Tacos, and Butter Chicken Curry.

Located inside Delta Hotels Waterloo where we were staying at. Service and atmosphere was good. A lot of seating options to choose from (weather was nice so we chose patio). Food was pretty good (they use a lot of butter), but we didn’t feel the portions were great. The house (white) wine was very meh — had very little taste like it was watered down (to clarify: I’m not saying it was watered down, but that’s the best way to describe the lack of flavor in the wine that we had)

Visited Proof Lounge around 5pm on a Monday. The restaurant was not yet busy & the service was quick and breezy. Enjoyed a Matcha Martini & The Nosh to start, the matcha drink was incredible & as someone who doesn’t love olives, they were marinated and very tasty in the appetizer. For an entrée we got the Wild Mushroom Ravioli & Chimichurri Salmon with some of the best couscous I’ve ever had. Overall service was great, food & drinks were tasty and the atmosphere was lovely but a tad bright!

PUBLIC Kitchen & Bar is a retro-elegant bistro located in Kitchener, offering creative tapas, cocktails, old world wines, and Ontario craft beers. Despite its small size, the restaurant has become a popular spot with eclectic decor and a menu featuring dishes like confit of Cornish hen with cherry tomatoes and pan jus.
My husband and I have dined here a few times for special occasions and we have yet to be disappointed with this place! The food has always been delicious and the service has always been excellent. The oyster special on Wednesdays is a fantastic deal. They don't serve as many condiments as they used to, but the oysters are so good that they're better enjoyed on their own with a little squeeze of lemon. The only thing I will say needs improvement is the lighting. We had to use the light from our cell phones to read the menu because it is incredibly dark and impossible to do so without.
Sapna H — Google review
This place was amazing! Do not judge a book by its cover…I wasn’t sure based on the outside, but it is a vibe! My husband and I went for date night and it did not disappoint! We love sharing plates and we were able to try many dishes. The food was well balanced and seasoned well. We loved the diversity of dishes. Joseph was an amazing waiter! There wasn’t any real problems and he took care of us. The drinks were so well balanced. My husband said the mocktails were the best he’s had. I had the blue martini and loved the hint of lavender! I did not have a drink that tasted like flowers. We were blown away with the service, food, and ambiance. If we are back in Kitchener, we would definitely come back!
Mary H — Google review
Wednesday night's are (currently) buck-a-shuck where you can get $1 oysters or $2 oysters. We went with $1 oysters and copped two dozen. We wish they had more condiments, but the lemon and hot sauce were fine. In addition to the oysters we got their smoked salmon app, daily pasta and scallops. Everything tasted pretty good and we didn't have any complaints. I wouldn't say this meal was exceptional by any means, but we left satisfied. A solid 7.1, but not sure if we'd have to come back. #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot

My girlfriend (at the time) and I attended the first Anthony Bourdain Crush Thursday two years ago, and we still talk about that night. Fast forward to this past Thursday: my now fiancée and I were able to attend again, and it felt meant to be — our first date night since our son was born. I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience. The menu was phenomenal: early dishes set the tone perfectly, while the rest took us through nostalgia, umami bombs, and fresh, balanced flavours, all curated with so much intention. (I could have easily eaten ten plates of the sisig & roasted bone marrow) There were a few returning dishes from last time, in the best way. I was so happy to see Public bring back the “Ripper” dog — whoever complained about it last time should get off their high horse and appreciate how brilliantly it celebrates a legend. Ben, our server, made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. At the end of the night — since my fiancée hadn’t been able to have oysters (one of our favourite foods) for the last nine months — I asked Jack if there was any way to get just two oysters to cap off our meal. Without hesitation, there were two waiting on our table before I even sat back down. We left completely stuffed and somehow still wanting more. Thank you to the entire team at Public for an unforgettable evening and for continuing to honour a true culinary legend.

I love all of public’s food, but the ghost kitchen they run called Gords Burgers might be my favourite. The attached photo does not do it justice. Available for seating at the bar or takeout only. It’s hard to say it’s the best burger I’ve ever had, but I can’t remember having a better one. The fries are also very good. You won’t have a bad experience if you are eating off their regular menu either. Staff is very friendly. 10/10 would recommend.
Shawn S — Google review
Incredible every time I go. The staff are friendly and very careful about dietary restrictions. They are excellent at providing recommendations when asked, and build a great rapport through the meal. The food is always excellently prepared, regardless of whether it is a regular tapas night or one of their specialty nights. I highly recommend their chef’s choice option if you’ve got a bit extra to spend - what an incredible experience!

5 stars on all fronts. The food is exceptional. Perfect sharing plates, which just means I get to try more dishes! The service is top-notch. Zero complaints. The atmosphere, although a bit deceiving from the outside, is extremely cozy, warm and inviting inside. Truly a gem. 💎 Can’t wait to go back.

This place was worth every nickel and dime spent. From our entrance to our exit, the staff at PUBLIC Kitchen & Bar were very accommodating, highly knowledgeable about their menu, and and fully deserving of a 5-star rating. I would highly recommend you give this place a shot. You'll be glad you did. This restaurant is best experienced with 4+ people - in my opinion - due to the sharing atmosphere. Graffiti Market is a trendy dining spot located near the Iron Horse Trail, offering a unique blend of rustic and industrial vibes. One of their standout dishes is the Buffalo Mashup poutine, which combines local cheese curds, fresh cut fries, fried chicken, crispy chicken skins, scallions, ranch and buffalo sauce for a delightful culinary experience.
The staff is nice, friendly and very professional. The food is freshly prepared and it very delicious 😋 love the whole place and atmosphere, has plenty of seatings and the patio very nice. The interactive tables are amazing kept the adults and the kids busy and had lots of fun 🤩

Took my kids to Graffiti Market for lunch and we had a great first visit. The kids loved the interactive display tables where they could color and play games — such a fun touch! The food was excellent, and the kids’ meals included unlimited sodas and dessert, which they really enjoyed. My “Riskit for the Brisket” pizza was delicious. Overall, an awesome family-friendly spot with great food and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

The food is great but we were specifically impressed with the customer service and staff knowledge about and attention to dietary requirements. The waitress who assisted us informed us of what dishes are certified halal and suggested a couple dishes for us. The manager, Dave, also came to check on our dietary requirements and was very knowledgeable about halal guidelines. My suggestion would be to add some halal meat dishes to the menu to cater to another demographic in the city as people like myself love dining here :) thank you for the great service, Dave and team!

The gluten free vegan margarita pizza was so good. I was so sceptical but it turned out delicious. I also got the strawberry lemonade iced tea and it paired nicely with the pizza. Our server Kendal was excellent and super friendly. 4 stars for the atmosphere becuase the music was a bit loud.

It was our very first experience at graffiti market as I heard it was a good place to eat.So I brought my kids to celebrate my Son’s birthday. First of all, after being seated at our table, our server, Maddy T came up to the table and robotically said what her name was without any positive energy or smile, very dry and uninterested. We placed our order and waited 25 minutes for our food as one of the orders was a pizza, understandably.( which was the only well prepared dish and tasted good). However, our other two dishes were pastas which were luke warm, like they had been prepared ahead of time and placed under the food warmer. My Gnocchi in a tomato sauce was terrible and tasted like the sauce had been poured out of a can, very watery and tasteless accompanied by blanched / boiled / sliced vegetables and the gnocchi itself had black burnt marks on them rather than golden brown. Absolutely disappointing. I further asked my server for some ground black pepper for my pasta, she comes back with a tiny pepper mill and places. It on the table and walks away without saying anything. Instead of offering to grind some, and showing interactive customer service. Inspite of the terrible service and mediocre food, I did leave a tip, to which I was having second thoughts about. Most likely to never revisit, except for the pizza. Overall, a very poor and disappointing dining experience.

Brilliant restaurant in Kitchener.First time here the food and service excellent, our server supper friendly, professional. The interactive table was amazing experience I had fun playing. I highly recommend it , can’t wait to go back to enjoy the amazing food. I came to the restaurant from VAUGHAN 😎

Let me just start off by saying I used to love this restaurant. I was just here yesterday evening and was immediately greeted with issues. Number one our reservation we had for 5:45 was delayed and we had to wait until 6 PM to be seated. The front staff kept over booking and overtaking guests so much so that the kitchen and wait staff couldn’t keep up. Number two our server who was also the bartender was extremely rude to us, he made us feel like we were an annoyance the entire time and when we had questions about the menu and items he quote on quote said “ I don’t know it’s lemonade you pick “ he came over and checked on us once in the entire time and when I had issues with my meal I had to physically get up to get his attention. Number three, our food was raw and not cooked, given the circumstances you would think they would comp the whole bill, no I had to still pay for my salad and drink. I will never ever return here again and I highly suggest others from doing so. Terrible service and experience.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Downtown Kitchener, The Grand Trunk Saloon is a delightful fusion of modern Southern cuisine and inventive cocktails, all wrapped up in a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of the 19th century. This charming spot is perfect for those craving comfort food classics like Chicken N Waffles or their renowned Buttermilk Fried Chicken. With live music adding to its lively ambiance, it’s an ideal hangout for friends looking to unwind.
The food was amazing! The Brussels sprouts and fried chicken were standout dishes, and there were so many phenomenal shareable plates—huge credit to the chefs. The vibe was great, and the cocktails were delicious (though on the smaller and pricier side). Our server was a bit blunt and not the most approachable, but she was efficient, timely, and clearly explained key menu items. Overall, a really solid spot for food lovers—definitely worth a visit.

This place is a true gem! It’s been our go-to spot for dinner and drinks for a year now. Most recently we had my sister’s bachelorette dinner here and it was the highlight of the entire night. We were a big group but he was able to balance the busyness of the group as well as serving other tables. The food was great with many of the party commenting on the high quality and good taste of the food. We always recommend the fried chicken and waffles as it remains a staple of one of the best versions of the dish available in the area.

Drinks were so good but quite pricey. We got there close to midnight so food service was done and they only had pizza service ending at midnight. Pizza was delicious, unfortunately, we were too hungry to take a picture. I would like to try them again earlier in the night (although it was a Saturday night, place should stay open till later).

Fantastic atmosphere, a good place for everything from just a drink to whole birthday dinner. Great, unique food options and good selection of cocktails and local beers. The fried chicken especially, is a cut above for quality.

Loloan Lobby Bar is a stylish and modern restaurant that serves Southeast Asian cuisine along with a variety of alcoholic beverages. The menu features unique and flavorful dishes like Malaysian Rojak, Banh Mi Board, Gulay, and Plaa Obb. This airy and elevated eatery is known for its creative cocktails and wine selection, making it the perfect place to enjoy an exquisite meal paired with delicious drinks.
Came in for drinks and had a lovely time. Our bartender was amazing, very helpful, and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of cocktails and drinks available. There's a section on the menu for zero proof cocktails, which was amazing to see. We were too late to order food, but heard great recommendations about the menu, so we'll definitely be back. The decor is 👌, the bar doesn't feel impersonal, and the stools are very comfortable. A great spot in the heart of downtown!

Had the opportunity to try the Hummingbird Fixed course menu for our anniversary and we were blown away! From the first step into the restaurant, Jake made us feel like guests of honor without imposing. He has truly mastered the art of being present without being overbearing and beyond that, offered a lot of meaningful info as well as a calming vibe. The food... THE FOOD! Each of the 4 courses was an incredible adventure. Perfectly timed, and each telling a very different story. My partner and I ordered differently for most of the courses and sharing bites was like taking a peak at a completely different celebration of flavour. Each of the dishes was obviously created from the ground up and the taste made way only to the presentation. We also had the opportunity to be the bartender's guinea pigs for a new drink. It was so apparent that this is someone who loves what they do for the right reason. Every drink was phenomenal and the experimental cocktail was a warm and smoky mix of fine tequilas that made me wish it was on the menu so I could order another. He informed us it will be available this weekend. If you love food and appreciate ambiance as well as service, please dine here.

An easy 5 stars all round. The service was impeccable from start to finish. There was a little mix up with the time, but Jake smoothed things over and provided excellent service. Sara was our main server and provided an outstanding experience. Don't let her young age deceive you, she is an experienced worldly soul inside. They really made our night. The food and drink were just as amazing as the service. Do not come here expecting much of a pedestrian Malay food selection. Instead be prepared to have your perceptions of food and flavours challenged. Ever seen Muscovy duck on a menu? How about a pho cocktail? Jackfruit sorbet? All of our cocktails and dishes and desserts were delicious, playful, and unique, and the presentation was amazing. You could see that everything was created and presented with great care. Although there is a more expensive price tag that comes with this, it is not any more than other upscale restaurants, and the superior service, uniqueness, and experience actually make this a better value. They also have some great tasting menus at different times that offer some great options too. Parking lots are in the area a few steps away, and some are free in the evenings.

We slipped in for a quick date night last Saturday and ended up lingering at the bar because the team was exceptional. The bartenders struck the perfect balance of professional and personable, they anticipated what we needed and were incredibly talented. Cocktails were beautifully executed and the food was top notch. A flawless experience from first sip to last bite. My husband and I will definitely be back again. 👌🏼

Literally to die for food. We had the fixed price course menu and literally every piece of it was better than I expected. Presentation, flavour, timing, everything. The loloan Bali cocktail I got was beautiful and probably the best cocktail I've ever ordered. The place is gorgeous and feels like you're at a fancy hotel in the 40's. They were even playing old jazz music which I loved. The server/host, Jake, was amazing and made us feel so special for our anniversary. Pricey but WORTH IT. Will be coming here again FOR SURE.
Merike H — Google review
We had the opportunity to try Loloan for the first time and it was a unique experience for fine dining. The atmosphere was lounge-like with an impressive bar area. Unfortunately because of the revolving door entrance in the winter time, the restaurant was a bit colder than we liked. The staff were prompt to let us know that they would increase the temperature and provide hot water with lemon which was helpful. The lighting could has also been a bit brighter, especially for those who want to photograph the display of dishes! The menu was abundant with options from many southeast asian countries (Indonesian, Filipino, Cambodian, Thai and Vietnamese). Amongst the menu there were lots of options with tropical fruits like jackfruit and pork belly. We ordered an appetizer and entree to share and two desserts as we were more intrigued with their dessert selection. I noted that we had a nut allergy and they were able to give us confidence that the meal was safe to eat even though most of the menu contained nuts. The banana flambe dessert was exciting to watch and tasted delicious. The mango sticky rice was beautifully presented and a perfect meld of creamy and sweet flavours. Overall, the dessert was more exceptional than the meal itself. The entree flavours were good, but not phenomenal for the price point. However, the service was key to the experience, and I do think this location is great for an adventure in unique flavours that are harder to find in fine dining establishments around KW. With the proximity to the main Uptown strip, I believe this is still a great location for a date or somewhere to chat with a late night cocktail/dessert.

Nestled in the heart of Hespeler Village, Four Fathers Brewing Co. is a vibrant taproom that embodies the spirit of community and craftsmanship. Born from a casual hockey game among four dads, this brewery combines artistry with accessibility to create exceptional craft beers. The spacious industrial setting invites you to enjoy hearty burgers, delectable desserts, and an array of tasty snacks like wings and nachos while sipping on their unique brews.
Very clean spacious venue with a good selection of beers. The food looks good although I didn't try this time. Very knowledgeable staff who answered questions about the history of the area and this business. Could use a little more selection on the take home cans although you can always opt for getting a growler. Was our favourite stop of the day!

Cool brewery with some great offerings. Flights of 4 available if you can't decide in a full pint. Food menu was good too. The smash burger was very good, as were the fries. It friends got the classic poutune, which was also great. Lots of parking work 2 chargers for EVs. Staff were great as well. Nice shop for swag and beer take home purchases too.
Matt J — Google review
Nice restaurant indoors with a small but cute patio. Lots of parking available. Tons of merch to purchase if you’re into that. Food was decent. I ordered the works fries with nashville hot chicken on top. Friends got the burger with side salads.
Ms. T — Google review
Arrived and sat on the patio and then waited 20 min for service. Once a waitress arrived after the host sat another table next to us probably notified the server who came a minute later. There was no apology for the wait just a what can I get you. The table next to us had to call over a waited as they had also been waiting for at least 10 min. I know the average standard is to at least acknowledge a table within 2 minutes. The interactions were just kinda awkward from there. If you plan on coming here and sitting on the patio make sure you order at the bar first or the your vibes might die. The last time I got service indoors in was great and I just recommend they get a server for outside instead of having multiple people run around.

Well deserved delicious meal. We biked in from Guelph and had a nice dinner on the patio. The place has such a nice and relaxed vibe. We got a flight of beers that were all tasty. And we both got sandwiches. The fries were great and the burgers too. We will definitely be coming here again.

Really great & fun spot. The food was awesome and the beer was even better. You can tell everything’s made with care. My burger was unreal and the flight was super fresh. I had to grab a pint of Spooky Boi, easily one of my new fall favourites. The vibe inside is relaxed and everyone working there was super friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Cambridge!

Food is really great. Poutine was outstanding! Good beer selection, only if you like IPAs. Not great for anything else. No wheat beers, no sours. Somewhat disappointing for our table. Parking is a challenge often. Still a fun vibe!

I have never had such kind service at a restaurant, me and my girlfriend took a road trip out to Cambridge and stopped here for ice-cream. Instead of being understandably upset about re-opening their ice cream stand, they gave us two scoops each for the price of one, AND ON TOP OF THAT OUR WAITER ONLY CHARGED US FOR KIDDIE SCOOPS. Phenomenal place 10/10 please go here. They also have games which was a GAME changer…get it?

The bar not only boasts a variety of 32oz and 64oz Growlers for take-home enjoyment but also features delightful cocktails crafted with care.
Met a friend here for dinner and beers. Loved it. Some sort of chicken sandwich was really tasty. The hand cut fries with skins on were very, very good. The beer selection was broad and the sampled beers were very good. Hope to get back here some day.
Barry D — Google review
Stopped by for a quick date afternoon drink and bite to eat. It was our first visit. The village is lovely to begin with. The selection of on tap drinks is awesome! The setup is great. You go up to the bar, order your drinks, and go find a seat, in or patio, your choice. No pressure, no interpretation by wait staff. They just give you a sign for your table if you get food. You pay when you order and you leave when done. Patio is dog friendly, but we didn't know, so we didn't bring our pooches this time. So laid back, and I love that!! The bar tenders we very kind and just great people. One in particular, I believe his name was Matthew, personally came out and introduced himself, letting us know the patio will be expanding. Really nice guy. The burgers and fries were great and the price was amazing! We will be making this a regular date stop, especially when the warm summer evenings arrive.
Rachel — Google review
Huge outdoor seating area. Brussel sprouts were outstanding, must order! Fries were thick, crispy, and well seasoned. Friend chicken sandwich was huge! Impossible burger was ok, pickles were made in house but not pickled enough.
Kevin C — Google review
Frequent guest. Really great beer selection with rotating kegs/taps. The poutine fries were overcooked and tough, and the Brussels sprouts were very undercooked and too much soy sauce. Neither of them was good. Don’t recommend. Their response to the fries was “the next batch” would be the same. How do you mess up fries?
J D — Google review
Love this place. Always an expertly curated beer list along with wines and ciders. I’ve enjoyed many meals here and the food is always on point. Enjoying the Korean poutine and should have brought a few friends with me to finish it. But then again it’s so good I don’t want to share.
Billy M — Google review
Edit from an older review: Returned multiple times since and have had better experiences since my original review. They always have a good selection of beers and the food is tasty. Beer samples are happily offered in case you are having trouble deciding. As for food, we definitely love the chip truck fries and Nashville Chicken Sandwich! It's a great place for a casual hangout with friends or family over drinks and good food. They have a second level mezzanine with additional seats that overlook the space. They also have an amazing patio that welcomes live music performances and other events in Belmont Village. Arabella brings a unique and cheerful vibe to the village that will be dearly missed without it. -- Good drinks and unique bar typology but for a higher cost. The European style of ordering drinks is interesting and deserves more recognition but the price of the bottled ale seemed a little too steep. Service was friendly and professional. As for the food, the duck season dish was delicious but only had a limited portion of meat mixed with some vegetables.
Sa H — Google review
Great spot with lots of outdoor space. Plenty of beer options, many of which were quite good. The Nashville chicken sandwich was delicious, no side, though.

Bar
Pin Up Arcade Bar is a laid-back spot that offers a wide selection of retro video games and pinball, making it perfect for those seeking a nostalgic experience. It's an ideal place to enjoy adult beverages while indulging in some old-school arcade fun. The bar welcomes both old friends and new, and even allows daytime visits with kids to introduce them to the classic games. While the food quality may not be top-notch, there are plenty of dining options nearby.
So to start, the entire place was really fun! We especially loved the pinball machines and spent 3/4 of our night on them... with no regrets. The staff were all super nice and welcoming, conversational, and overall very fun to chat with :) I loved all the drinks I ordered there and had a blast on my double date! I wouldn't really recommend the food though, we tried 2 things (Quesadilla and Chicken Fingers) and both weren't so great.. but who's really looking for a meal at a bar?! Aside from that, zero complaints.
Mandy P — Google review
Fun place. Great atmosphere. The bar staff and friendly as hell and really added the the experience. 10/10 recommend this place for that alone.
Gregg D — Google review
The games are really cool. Jenga is really cool. When they run karaoke, it’s also really cool. This place might just be really cool, it’s also sometimes kinda gross tho. Food and drinks are a little pricey but it’s so affordable to play games there that I don’t mind. Much love to pin up, I’m gonna keep coming back until I can beat the basketball high score.
Ben K — Google review
Exceptional service and an impressive array of games make this establishment an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped in, I was enraptured by the unparalleled experience it offered, seamlessly blending the comforts of a sophisticated bar with the exhilarating nostalgia of an arcade. The sheer variety of games available left me in awe, and I had an absolute blast, losing myself in the captivating world of pinball and classic arcade games. The $8 entrance fee per person was a mere pittance compared to the immense fun it afforded. Open to all ages until the evening hour of 9 pm, it catered to a diverse audience, ensuring a truly inclusive and lively atmosphere. As the day transitioned into night, the place transformed into an atmospheric bar, exuding a vibrant energy that heightened the overall experience. I found myself appreciating the ingenious concept of this dual-purpose establishment, creating an unforgettable fusion of entertainment and relaxation. The bar staff, notably the male bartender, was exceptionally amiable, adding a personal touch to the already extraordinary ambiance. It's rare to encounter such genuine warmth and hospitality in a venue like this, and it made the visit all the more enjoyable. One noteworthy aspect was the option to order food from an upstairs burger joint, elevating the overall experience. However, while the convenience was appreciated, the quality of the food left something to be desired. Nonetheless, the sheer exhilaration of the games overshadowed this minor drawback. As a regular patron, I hold this place in the highest regard, having frequented it for several years now. The bartender's endearing demeanor and the venue's enthralling 80s garage atmosphere have formed an indelible bond, making this a cherished haven for me. I unequivocally adore this unique establishment and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an extraordinary fusion of nostalgia, entertainment, and conviviality.

The best hidden gem! It’s so easy to go past this spot without noticing it’s there, but I’m so glad I finally stopped in and it was well worth it - so many cool games.
Mackenzie T — Google review
We’ve been here a few times and every time machines are broken. Tonight there was 0 fully functioning pinball machines unless you’re playing old EMs and they are hit and miss as well. I get keeping machines up and running is tough but it’s what we are paying to come for. If it was a Monday after a weekend of abuse I’d understand but on a Thursday night they should all be going getting ready for Friday and Saturday. But I guess that’s why there was only a handful of people there at 10pm?

$8 for unlimited play cannot be beat. The staff members were really great; they took the time to make us feel welcome and were super accommodating when the kitchen made a mistake with our food order. What a fun place, we will be back!

Guests can also enjoy gluten-friendly and plant-based options such as fritters, wings, nachos, and main courses.
We recently went to the Bauer Kitchen for dinner and it was our first time there and won’t be our last! For drinks - I had the blood orange spritz and it was refreshing. All the food we had was really good. The spinach dip came with flatbread and chips to dip and was great for sharing. The almond crusted salmon had gnocchi surrounding it on top of a sweet corn sauce which was something I never tried before and was really good paired with the salmon. The beef tenderloin was cooked to medium and was soft and tender. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious - the cake was fluffy with toffee sauce and vanilla bean ice cream which really balanced everything out.

So I went here with my gym friends last night for dinner, July 10 @ 6:30 p.m. Our waiter, Sean was great, we got seated immediately. Two of us had the Sweet Butcher Pizza, one had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the other one had Roasted Chicken Campanella. All were absolutely delicious. Two of us had the Red Sangria so refreshing on a hot day, which I highly recommend. It was a large glass and we finished ours! Service, ambience and food was good. Ennio's Pasta House, located in the heart of Waterloo, Ontario, is a beloved Italian eatery known for its cozy ambiance and authentic flavors. The restaurant specializes in traditional pasta dishes made with fresh ingredients that transport diners to Italy. In addition to classic Italian entrees and pizza, Ennio's offers a carefully curated drink menu featuring imported wines and delightful summer cocktails that perfectly complement their culinary offerings.
To start, the service was amazing from start to finish! We were seated quickly and our server constantly checked in with us. They were knowledgeable with the menu and offered us recommendations. We got the truffle potato wedges which were amazing. They were crispy, not too salty, and the truffle aioli took it to the next level. The pizza was hot and fresh with a tasty crust. The lasagna was also made well and all the food was filling. Would definitely come back and try their other menu items!

Nice place for Italian food. It was a busy day on a sleepy Wednesday. Even though the place was half empty they were understaffed and we waited long to be served. There was clear chaos but the staff tried to be as cheerful as possible. The food was very good and made up for the slow service. Overall we had a good time and will definitely try them again. Hopefully on a better day.

We dined at Ennio’s in Waterloo for the first time last weekend (Sunday) for dinner. We are an Italian family, travelling frequently to Italy, with a strong Italian heritage. As Italians, we enjoyed our experience and the food at Ennio’s. Very close to authentic Italian — the sauce was delicious, very similar to my Nonna’s homemade recipe! Ask any Italian, the sauce is what makes or breaks a dish and Ennio’s sauce is great. What did we try? To start we had the Pazzo Bread & Arancini, both were delicious. Our party of five tried pastas: Nonna’s Gnocchi, Annabella, Bettola, and Rustica; and the Risotto Alla Florentine. All were delicious. Portions were very large. The only personal complaint was for me, the dish was way too “saucy” … I was going to ask for less sauce (as I saw photos from other reviews) and forgot. Aside from that, we truly enjoyed our meal. Great service, rustic Italian ambience, authentic Italian pastas. Highly recommend!

Had a birthday party here. Overall, it was a nice experience most of the dishes were quite good, especially the appetizers. However, my risotto was overcooked and lacked flavor, and the shnitzel was a bit to oily and not really good with risotto, didn't get the point of the dish. The waitress was kind and tried her best, but with no bartender on site, she wasn’t familiar with cognac or how to serve it properly though we figured it out together.

I've been going to Ennios for well over 10 years and not once have I been disappointed with their food, customer service and my overall dining experience. However, I recently did experience disappointment when an Uber driver delivered a clearly dropped, messy and completely cold ruined dish. However, when I contacted the restaurant, the manager Heather, immediately responded and provided a solution to resolve my concerns. I just wanted to say thanks for caring about your customers and for your delicious food. I love going to the patio in warmer weather as well. Has a very cozy atmosphere. Looking forward to more patios and yummy meals from your restaurant.

I’m in St Jacobs for a weekend away from the city and found Block Three. This place is so lovely. The customer service was on point! I was one of, if not the only one not from the area. With an eclectic atmosphere and incredible music, Jane Bond provides a hip setting for enjoying delectable plant-based cuisine.
Always a great choice. I miss the Whoppie burger but it had a good run. Everything tastes home made in a great way and the staff are fabulous.

The food was absolutely amazing! Great vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free option. The portions were very generous. Obviously a come back!

Great for vegan food and the atmosphere was great for dinner. A little cozy when it becomes a bar. My only warning is to not pay cash, or else the bartender will yell at you to “remember to tip next time”. Said it to a student who clearly wasn’t swimming in money. I understand there is a free cover but as a repetitive customer I found it so rude- I’m glad I never did in the first place. Tipping culture has gone nuts. Haven’t been back since lol

Fun time with friends. Service can be hit and miss. Some servers are really great and some take a while to get back to you. Food is generally pretty good although a bit on the pricier side. Drinks are usually tasty though! They also have fun theme nights. Tap to pay available.

My friends and I have come here a couple times, and it’s been a relatively nice time! The food is quite good, and the cocktails as well, making it a good place for yourself and some friends to have some fun. It’s neat and creative atmosphere even on holidays is also really nice to see! The prices are fine as well, however the service could definitely be improved a touch. Still, it hasn’t affected us too badly so we’ve made returns here. It’s a nice place overall, definitely a bit of a warm feel.

Great place for drinks and vegan/vegetarian eats. Food is flavourful and the drinks are delicious. They have an intimate patio in the back and an extended patio at the front of the restaurant for the summer. There is also a DJ on some nights. I ordered the munch wrap supreme and it tasty and very filling.

Great place to hangout for casual food and drinks. They have a hidden patio at the back which is perfect to meet up with a friend or go out as a couple for a drink. I also came here for dinner to try their food. The caesar salad had a sweeter dressing but was delicious. The burger was alright but a bit on the mushy side. I don't think I would order it again but the salad - definitely. Note that most dishes are served with their house tortilla chips as a side. They are simple but tasty.

The food was EXCELLENT! My girlfriend is a vegetarian and was so excited that she could have everything on the menu. I'll admit, I'm not a vegetarian and I enjoyed the food. We went last Friday and ordered the quesadilla and the special with chips and salsa. The special was a chick'n sandwich on a bun from Vincenzo's, and OMG IT WAS DELICIOUS! If someone didn't tell me it wasn't a chicken sandwich, I would have thought it was chicken. Everything was delicious and very tasty. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we both felt safe and comfortable being ourselves. This is our new date night restaurant and we will definitely be coming back here! PS to the staff at Jane Bond: Can you please make that chick'n sandwich a regular on the menu? That definitely deserves a spot on there.

My husband and I had an amazing time at this billiards bar! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to unwind and have some fun. As fans of billiards, we were thrilled with the well-maintained tables and overall setup. The food was a standout—absolutely delicious and way above what you’d expect at a bar. From the first bite to the last, everything was fresh and flavorful. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home, and the service was impressively fast without feeling rushed. This place is a gem for anyone looking for great food, good vibes, and a fun game night. We’ll definitely be back soon!

New post from 2025 This is my true and honest review. I recant everything I originally said in the review. This place is the shit. Amazing staff up stairs and down. Good pool tables (could use new cues 😜). This menu is one of the best I’ve seen in KW area with even better prices. Good laughs, good times and amazing owner. Original post from 2018 Dark and smells. Pool tables aren’t the best. The food was okay but would rather go somewhere else next time.

Was there with my friends on Sunday night , to watch the Patriots and Bills Game , our server Mia , was amazing very outgoing and friendly, it was her second shift at Chicago’s , but she was very professional and always had a smile on her face when she served us and was very nice and easy to talk too , Thank you so much Mia for serving us , and see you again soon !!!

Date night with the Husband. Love to dine at Chicago's ❤️ Our waitress was a sweetie, very attentive. Food was delicious, ordered a couple of platters and drinks. It was a bit noisy, pool tournament? Our table was overlooking the billards tables and too close to the players. Gonna sit in a different section next time. Otherwise a pleasant night.

This place has well maintained pool tables and we visit every time when we are in Kitchener. Well, this time when we were there, we ordered 2 pitchers of beer and literally waited more than an hour to get it, because of our waitress. She had forgotten our order, even after we reminding her a minimum of 4 times. Later we had to inform the manager to get our drinks. After that, again we waited for 10 more mins to get the mugs. Luckily we were playing pool to keep ourselves busy, otherwise would have felt so bad for waiting too long.

Chicago Pubs & Billiards in Kitchener is an excellent spot for a fun and relaxed night out. I visited with friends, and we had a fantastic time playing pool for three hours. The tables are well-maintained, and the atmosphere is lively yet laid-back. The nachos were delicious, and the Pepsi was refreshing, making for the perfect snack and drink combo. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. If you're looking for a place to enjoy some quality billiards, good food, and a friendly environment, I highly recommend Chicago Pubs & Billiards!

The beer at the Waterloo Brewing Beer Store & Taphouse is enjoyable and worth trying. The food, overall, is tasty although the brie/flat bread may not meet expectations. Perhaps it needs more brie! The pretzel, on the other hand, is delicious especially when paired with its beer dip. The server appears to be in a hurry as she keeps asking if food should be ordered every 10 minutes and if more drinks are desired before finishing the first ones.
We stopped in on a Friday night to enjoy some live music. The staff were amazing from the moment we walked through the door until we left. The drinks and atmosphere were great. Possibly the best pizza I've ever had. I would be happy to return!

If you’re looking for bad service, cold food, and rude staff — congratulations, you’ve found the perfect place. Waterloo Brewery Tophouse really delivers when it comes to disappointment. The waiters move like time doesn’t exist, and when the food finally arrives, it looks and tastes like it’s been waiting even longer than you have. The manager? Let’s just say “hospitality” is clearly not in his vocabulary. He managed to turn a simple mistake on the bill into a full argument. Yes, we were overcharged, and instead of fixing it politely, he made it feel like it was our fault. Unbelievable. Honestly, I wouldn’t go back even if the food was free. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else — it can only be better.
Danil S — Google review
We just stopped here for a quick bite to eat. I didn’t love the beers they had on tap so those were left unfinished but good to try out. Food wise, the two items we ordered were really good! The pretzel you need to eat while the dip is still hot and it will be amazing, the longer it’s left the harder the dip gets which isn’t as good. The Full Boar Nachos were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it!

I've been coming to the Waterloo Brewing Company beer store for years for great prices on local beer and seltzers. The wife and I decided to finally try their food and restaurant on Friday afternoon and we were not disappointed. We ordered the pulled pork nachos and they were delicious. Reasonably priced, as were the beers on tap. Carlsberg has purchased them now but that hasn't seemed to effect the store or restaurant in any way. The servers were very friendly and we really enjoyed the beautiful evening on their patio. We will return soon!

YES!!! So glad we made the sketchy drive yesterday, beat the weather & enjoyed a couple hours enjoying some brews & playing Uno. The staff we friendly & helpful. The place was spotless, even on a super snowy day (any snow/wetness tracked in was quickly looked after). Plenty of seating to be had & eventually the place filled in a bit. Wonderfully decorated! Super easy to get to with plenty of parking. Close to some key highlights that end of Kitchener. The shop, just to the side of the tap house, is well stocked & staffed with some lovely ladies. All in all it was a great experience & we can’t wait to go back in the spring/summer when they open their patio.

Scran & Dram Scottish Public House is a hidden gem in New Hamburg, offering an authentic Scottish atmosphere and delicious food with friendly service. We were impressed at the food and service at this place. The french fries were wonderful and had a unique flavour and are a must try item. The dishes (The Scotsman and Scotch Egg Burger) we tried are unique and well above average. Great cooks. I appreciate that they use meat, produce and gouda cheese to support local businesses. Thank you for the experience.

Great food and service! Was here with my uncle the other night. Unfortunately it turned out to be bingo night (Thursday). The music that was already louder than I prefer got a lot louder. Nestled in the heart of Hespeler Village, Ernie's Roadhouse offers a unique dining experience that combines comfort and flavor. The restaurant features an inviting patio area, enhanced by large garage-style windows that open up during the summer months, allowing diners to bask in the warm afternoon sun. Food enthusiasts will be delighted by their signature Ernie's burger, which has garnered rave reviews for its exceptional taste—many consider it one of the best burgers around.
I ordered the Ernie burger, and it was absolutely fantastic. The servers are very polite. Service was pretty fast, considering how busy it was. No annoying music playing, just the chit-chat of others giving the place a real authenticity that isn't as common. I absolutely loved it, I'd come back again anytime I'm back in Cambridge.

We just devoured our Seafood Boil at home and loved every bite. We drove 25 minutes home and it was still hot and steaming when we plated it up! Tender and full of taste. We got 2 dinners + a lobster tail (not pictured was a bunch of potatoes, corn, sausage, shrimp and mussels). Hope they do this again!

Ernie’s Cookhouse in Hespeler Village absolutely knocked it out of the park! I ordered the Pulled Pork Macaroni, and as someone who’s had their fair share of Southern BBQ including my all-time fave at Moe’s in Mobile, Alabama, I can honestly say Ernie’s version is even better. It’s smoky, cheesy, and everything comfort food should be. My partner had the Montreal Smoked Sandwich special and was blown away by the generous portion size. We both left with full bellies and full takeout containers, which is always a win. We couldn’t resist taking home an entire Coconut Cream Pie. It’s hands-down the best Coconut Cream Pie I’ve ever had in Southern Ontario (possibly the world, but let’s not start a pie war). Joel Cook, the owner, deserves his own 5 stars. He’s not only serving up amazing meals but is also a huge supporter of local teams and charities. He’s helped bring the heart and soul back into Hespeler Village. Highly recommend! Come hungry, leave with pie and maybe a new appreciation for how great local food can be.

This is going to be a difficult one. This review is of two visits to Ernie’s. First was for a Sunday brunch buffet a few months ago. Long line up but with a reservation all was good. Food at the buffet was fantastic. Very good. Very fresh and a lot of variety. No complaints at all. Fast forward to this past Sunday. My daughter loves doing high tea. We have had it in a few different places and she saw Ernie’s was hosting one and based on our past experience we thought we couldn’t lose. We brought along my wife this time. She has a food sensitivity. My daughter emailed with staff during the week prior to our arrival and they stated it should not be a problem. Boy were we wrong. They had no idea about the sensitivity. The abomination they brought out for my wife was virtually inedible. The servers had no idea that we had requested a food sensitivity meal for high tea. We could tell they scrambled to put something together. For the amount of money we paid for high tea we should have had much better quality food. We were so very disappointed. My daughter most of all because she chose it.

First time out to Ernie's this morning. OMG so good! Mimosas and Ceasars included in the price of the buffet. Staff was super friendly and attentive. The buffet...🤌 Eggs Benny, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, croquettes and all the usual breakfast options. Cabbage rolls (😋 😋) Hot pasta. At first i thought the dessert area was tiny but with the main course options we were full. That Dessert table was tiny but mighty! Coconut cream pie ✔️, cheesecakes, strudel, squares (Irish cream ones 🤤 😋) and mini donuts. Totally worth the drive! We will definitely be back!

I grew up in Hespeler and enjoyed many meals, drinks, family functions and parties at Earnies. Been a few years since i left Cambridge. The interior upgrades are great. Clean and fresh. Atmosphere is warm and inviting. Brought back many memories. I used to enjoy the wings and beer special with my parents. I ordered wings and fried pickles. For 19.99 a pound, I expected more. They were small, over cooked, lacked taste. I ate three. Pickles were brunt. Service was good but left like it may have been my last meal there. Was planning on taking my parents to the brunch. Unsure if its worth the money.

Came for a quick celebratory beer with wife and ended up eating three meals...... A sour krout beef sandwich / honey garlic wings and possibly the best spinach and cheese dip I've ever had. The food was incredible....... Everything was fresh, hot and tasty! Extremely happy and satisfied with my visit, the waitress was super friendly and funny and made ordering food easy.... She recommended the sandwhich and I'm so happy I took her advice. The atmosphere in this place is great too. Stopped by with my daughter for a Friday evening get together. Good spot for that. We ordered nachos , wings and the cheese spinach dip. It was all good. The wings was much better than other places that we have visited and reviewed. Yes real good. The nachos was also very fresh and we ordered it with the added chicken. Maybe too much cheese for me as am lactose Intolerant. But it was good. This is a very nice atmosphere to hang out on a Friday night especially if you like a live performance they have it there on Friday nights. Gluten friendly options on the menu as well. Server was really attentive and friendly . Will definitely recommend and go back.

The Rabbit Fox located at Pioneer and Homer Watson is a fabulous pub. We had live music tonight, the food was absolutely delicious. The burger combos were so filling, the burgers were cooked very well, so juicy, and tasty! I had onion rings wth my combo which was so nice and big crunchy. You can substitute your combos with onion rings for an extra $3.99, $2.99 if you want a salad and for a poutine it’s $4.99. This is a very clean establishment. Fun British themed gastropub. I had a great local cider cold crisp but very sweet. Shepherd pie was good. Side salad should not be served on same plate, as pie was in a hot cast iron skillet and instantly started degradation of the lettuce in salad. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and was told we could sit anywhere we wanted. It’s a smaller restaurant/pub so tables were close together but we didn’t mind because we had great conversations with the other customers. It seemed that they have 2 different menus, one specials menu and a regular menu. Service was great, our servers were very patient and nice. The food was absolutely amazing. We both ordered the ribs, wings, and salad for just $22! It was a great deal for three items and the salad was pretty big for a side salad. It was very filling, we couldn’t finish it all and had to bring home some leftovers! We were very impressed on how fresh the salad was, and how hot, tender, and delicious the ribs and wings were. We will definitely return to try other items on their menu.

The staff was friendly and attentive, providing excellent recommendations. We started our meal with appetizers: Best Fresh-Cut Fries Ever and Salt & Pepper Dry Ribs, both were perfectly seasoned and addictive. For our main dishes, we enjoyed the Southwest Rice Bowl, Tiki Tuna Poke Bowl, Blackened Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, and Steak & Pasta. To top it all off, we indulged in delicious desserts: an Oreo Cookie Jar, a Super Fudge Brownie, and Key Lime Pie, which made for a great finale. 😊🍴

We were there on June 29th for sunday lunch for the first time and it was fabulous. Atmosphere, cleanliness, menu options and food was amazing. The staff were all so friendly and our server Jordon was amazing, so friendly and helpful and just a joyful person, we enjoyed it so much that we went back again this evening July 5th with our 2 grandkids and we asked for Jordon again and everything was fantastic again. We will definitely be back a will recommend it to our family and friends

Very good food, friendly staff, busy place. Nice house brew. Sat in the atrium which has a one way wall so feels outside and reminded me of the original Duke in feel. Lots of staff, always busy. Sparse on the decoration, but that's just me. My dinner companion called it sleek and classy. A step up from a pub without being pretentious.

Went out with some gal pals for a birthday dinner and what a fun time! The vibe was fantastic, lots of ambience and great music. The food was outstanding, I had the sushi roll and a teriyaki salmon bowl. Our server Jordan was INCREDIBLE and hilarious! Love me a good sense of humour. The place was super clean, all the food was amazing and the presentation was great. I will be back for sure!!!! Jordan needs to be cloned, best wait staff I’ve ever experienced.

Sabrina is an absolute star at Browns. From the moment we walked in, she made us feel welcome and guided us through the happy hour drink menu like a pro. She was patient, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, making sure we understood all the options without feeling rushed. Her service went above and beyond, and she definitely made our happy hour extra special!

They had amazing food and lots of options, and the baja fish tacos were delicious. And our server Jay was so nice and friendly, overall amazing service. The atmosphere was great too, music wasn’t too loud and lots of space to sit.

Very rarely do I come across a restaurant worthy of a 5* review across the board What a great place, with delicious food and outstanding service. Our first time here and will not be the last. We went on a Sunday afternoon Mum/Daughter date and we had the calamari, the salt & pepper dry ribs and the sczechwan beef noodle bowl. Maddie K was our server, she was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable & attentive (and super cute!). The restaurant was spotless. Various options of seating available too. Highly recommend. Ask for Maddie's section.

First time visiting, 10/10!! I got the French dip and wowww, it was absolutely amazing. Everything tasted so fresh and came out hot. Service was amazing, my server was extremely kind and quick. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and clearly cared for. Will be back soon!

Pops and Ruby's is a hidden gem that truly stands out in the local pub scene. With an inviting atmosphere, it offers a delightful mix of activities including pool tables and karaoke nights that promise fun for everyone. The menu features mouthwatering wings and some of the best poutine you'll ever taste, making it a must-visit for food lovers. If you're in the mood for something different, their surprisingly good Chinese food adds an unexpected twist to your dining experience.
Great wings and the best poutine around. Kind of a dive bar but the quality of food makes it worth the stop in. Tuesday wing special $9.50/lb wings with drink purchase. Good size wings.

I've celebrated my last 2 birthdays in a row on Saturdays for Karaoke with Kenny. And numerous other events where my group spends a lot of money on drinks here. Not only do the servers over pour, bring you drinks you didn't ask for to run up your tab.. the bar fired Kenny. Karaoke has not been the same since and I won't be back. Which is really upsetting because Saturdays were a big hit that many people loved! I looked forward to this as my favorite thing to do. This was a terrible choice and I don't see the bar doing very well going forward. BRING KENNY BACK. THIS WAS A MISTAKE. He also didn't deserve the way you dropped him without any notice or REAL explanation entirely blindsiding him like cowards- which isn't cool at all! He deserves better. Good luck.

I just visited again for the first time in a while and was extremely disappointed that they fired the best Saturday karaoke host. The new host is simply not up to par; she lacks the effort and enthusiasm that made the experience enjoyable. If you're looking to do karaoke, I strongly suggest you go somewhere else. Kenny has another karaoke gig—definitely choose that one instead. This place has become unacceptable, and I seriously doubt I will return.
Elle P — Google review
Super disappointed to find out that Kenny, the iconic karaoke host of 23 years, was let go. This was my only reason for attending Pop’s and Ruby’s. This is the case for many others. Total dive bar under new ownership - food has gone downhill, prices have gone up, maintenance is lacking. Kenny was the only thing that kept the crowd coming. The is the end of an era… 😢
Terri N — Google review
I’ve been going to pops for about 10 years off and on and only ever for karaoke on Saturday. I went tonight only to be completely and literally so disappointed. The host has changed and she doesn’t have a clue messing around with the system so much that she crashed it Mid song while someone was singing. The hosts sound system sucks so much feed back it distorts things. While outside the host is sneaking outside drinking in her car and vaping. Barely see her at the table. It was given a chance however I won’t be back again. End of an era. Worst night out.
Melissa Y — Google review
Saturday night bartender was very antagonistic. She said I was intoxicated after 2 beer, water and a meal. I had been there for over 3 hours. She interrupts you when you're talking. The bartender did not care that the person that was complaining had previously moved my purse. I showed up tonight to sing Karaoke since I know the complainer doesn't go there Saturday. The trouble started when the bartender saw me park. She went inside only to return and cause a problem once again. I won't be returning to this establishment to be verbally assaulted by the Saturday night bartender.

Pops and Ruby's was a great experience for the second time out their. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new pub to try out if like country music and great food to enjoy out on your weekends!!

This place rules. Pretty awesome wings, good beer on tap, pool tables, and ... surprisingly good chinese food. Had a really good time at kareoke. If you're staying at the four points come on down you won't regret it. Good place for a great time.

Nestled at 210 King St E in Cambridge, ON, Argyle Arms is a delightful spot that combines great food with a relaxed atmosphere. The open-air patio offers a charming escape from the hustle and bustle of King Street, providing ample afternoon shade as the sun sets behind the building. Chef Denis showcases his culinary prowess with an impressive menu featuring local ingredients; highlights include crab porridge and smoked salmon asparagus.
Excellent service, amazing food, and they always have great live music. The new chef has definitely elevated the menu. My only complaint is that I wish beef brisket was still on the menu!

Great spot serving up delicious eats! The menu by H86 is wonderful. Especially obsessed with the burger, it's SO good. We've been back several times for the burger. Definitely suggest adding the bacon onion jam! They have live music often as well which is fun! It's a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing. Words can’t describe the skill Denis (chef) has when it comes to creating and making food. We are always impressed by the quality of the local items he picks, presentation and taste. Nothing lacked! We will definitely be back again to try the rest of the menu! The crab porridge and the asparagus smoked salmon are a must!!!! The beetroot carpaccio was light and an excellent app to share, tacos/fish and chips/hanger steak and ribs were all great portions and delicious flavour! With a lemon tart to seal the deal. wonderful flavour and crust. Such a memorable experience and amazing dinner!

Quiet, pleasant patrons & staff. Food is good, a bit on the small side (compared to other nearby pubs), but tasty. Rotating local draft, Brickhouse cider (woot!). Took a bit to get menus, but there was only one waitress/bartender on with 15+ people.

Great local restaurant to enjoy Friday night. The platter that offered several options was awesome with beer. We will visit again. And hopefully, everyone in Cambridge supports local business too. The server was very polite and friendly.

Nestled along King Street, 21 Fir Whiskey Bar + Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone exploring the vibrant dining scene in Waterloo. This stylish establishment offers an inviting atmosphere where you can indulge in delicious flatbreads, antijitos, and mouthwatering pork and bean tacos. With nearly two dozen cocktails to choose from, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a relaxed night out with friends, this bar has you covered.
My friend and I have been trying out all the pubs and bars within the Waterloo area for a while now. 21 Fir Whiskey Bar + Kitchen is definitely one among the top of our lists. It is a little pricey for students, although the cocktails are absolutely worth the price. My friend tried the Monte Carlo and I had the Pot of Gold. And I must say that our palates were so satisfied. Monte Carlo is a rye whiskey based cocktail which is more on the spirit side with a flavor of orange, and Pot of Gold is an irish whiskey based cocktail which is more on the frothy side and is perfect blended with lime and ginger. This is a perfect place to relax at with a drink or two and some good company or even alone after a tiring weekend, especially if you love jazz 🥰

I would have to say if your coming to Waterloo and looking for a great , relaxed but stylish establishment, 21 Fir Whiskey Bar and eatery is the place to make a reservation. Be sure to stop by on a Friday night for the buck a shuck as well each night of the week hosts a different highlight feature also the menu has a variety of creative options. Hands down the reason for coming is the talent behind the rustic sheek designed bar. The drink menu is by far constructed with talent and thought and the drinks are executed with persion. We will definitely be putting a pin on the map for this place and will recommend to all.

Came here on a Wednesday night for a friend's birthday. Unfortunately they're not yet on open table and calling through for a reservation didn't work as no one picked up, but walking in was fine as it wasn't too busy. Our waitress was there on her first night but was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a round of drinks with a meat platter to share and our mains. The kitchen was slow in serving our food so she let us know which was a good touch. I also asked if they did anything for birthdays and to my surprise, she brought all four of us complementary rose glasses! Definitely highlight of the night. In terms of drinks, great whiskey sour, also highly enjoyed the pineapple tequila cocktail. The food however was just okay in my opinion, the flatbread was a bit dry and nothing too special which is okay given they're primarily a whiskey bar.
Lucy C — Google review
Had a great cocktail, Smoking Sphere along with the charcuterie. The drink was a bit on the expensive side when you are trying to get more customers in. The charcuterie was excellent and priced well. Unfortunately they do not have a full menu right now. Hope to return when they have more to offer.
Scott C — Google review
Awesome atmosphere, decore, drinks and service. Unfortunately, the food was very underwhelming, not seasoned and virtually no flavor. Presentation was great.
Catherine S — Google review
Lots of selections (not surprising) but cocktails were crafted really nicely. Great atmosphere, like the environment and vibe. Not dark like a lot of other whiskey bars. Prices were reasonable, and will definitely have to try the food next time I come.
Justin W — Google review
Like any whiskey bar, it's a bit pricey. But it's worth it. Top notch menu. Trendy atmosphere. Smooth cocktails.

Only went for desserts; we had the only 2 on the menu. Lovely light cheesecake and a very moist chocolate cake. Costly but it was a lovely atmosphere to spend with friends. Will have to come and try the food next time

Went for lunch today. Had a tripple burger (12oz) with cheese and bacon and homemade fries. So good, all homemade and delicious. The owner, Liz is super friendly and welcoming. My friend had the wings, which were amazing. Will be back for sure. Highly recommend!!!

Tonight we had a wonderful time celebrating a good friend’s 80th birthday with some of his fishing buddies. We were very impressed with Thistle’s. They went out of their way to make our evening a special memory, putting up a celebration sign for happy birthday on the window and supplying a birthday cake for our friend. Liz, the owner, and her staff went out of the way to treat us special. Thank you so much, Liz. We really had a fantastic time. We highly recommend your place.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Rowdy’s Indian Bar & Restaurant, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Hespeler Road. From the outside, it resembles a quaint pizza shop, but stepping inside reveals an enchanting atmosphere filled with vibrant lighting and an energetic vibe that makes you want to dance. The DJ spins fantastic Bollywood tracks that set the perfect backdrop for a lively evening. We were impressed by their diverse menu featuring both vegetarian and meat options.
Delicious food. Drinks were impressive. Staff is very polite. We have met Prathamesh twice, he was very humble and polite. You can get the feel of India. Ambience is very vibrant. Definitely try Sizzling Brownie with Rum on Fire 🔥.....

This place is a filled with surprises🍽️ located at the center of Hespeler rd, I’d like a little pizza shop from outside but once you enter in you see the magic. Very vibrant and aesthetically improvised lighting. DJ IS amazing plays only Bollywood music though. The place has got a wide variety of options to choose from veggie to meat options. The bar menu is interestingly designed to serve any cocktail you could think of!!! I will say the place has strongly influenced the vibe and atmosphere which all only matters when you’re going for a couple of drinks and just looking for some good Indian fusion food and drinks!!

My husband and I visited Rowdy's Indian Bar & Restaurant a few weeks ago in Friday. Here are some of the things I liked and things which could have been better: Liked: 1. DJ was amazing. The lighting was great, the vibe made me feel like a dance 🪩 floor 💃 2. The drink 🍷🍺 was good so far (not the best) but they were kind enough to make me a new drink because my drink was too sweet for me. 3. Masala Papad was delicious 😋 4. Paneer Subji was also delicious and the Naan was thin and soft Could have been better: 1. Veg. Tandoori Momos filling was way less but the presentation was amazing and they were good. 2. It is not the best place for kids under 9 years of age because they might feel this place is noisy because of DJ 3. We had to talk but louder to each other because the music was loud which was fun but at the same time you can't understand each other while talking Overall it was fun to visit this restaurant. I will definitely suggest you to visit if you need a cool vibe with DJ 🪩🎧🎶, Delicious food 😋 and a good service. It is more fun with a group of friends.
Himani C — Google review
Place was for sure a vibe (specially punjabi music) and ambience is amazing. We went there for Dinner ; food was ok-ok ( Appetizer : Malai chaap, main course: Tandoori Naan, butter paneer masala). Ordered tadka Raita as well but it was not up-to the mark. So I would rate 3.5 out of 5 for food.
Manvir K — Google review
Tandoori chicken was really good and so were honey chilli fries. Daal makhni was also really good. However, malai paneer tikka was bland, I expected it to be creamy with some spices. But overall, vibe was great and if I would have went on weekend, my experience would have been elevated. Oh I forgot about crispy momos, the best thing about my order. It is a good Indian restaurant.
Rishabh K — Google review
The food was amazing, the service was amazing and the drinks were soo good. The mixologist was amazing at makin our drinks!!! Definitely will be returning!!! We had a platter wit 4 different apps then had 3 more. So good. And 5 drinks. Upsi desi was my favorite drink(the one wit the popsicle) but so was the margarita!! Lol

The food was really really good. We ordered matar pulau, malai chicken and naan. Everything was very delicious. The atmosphere/environment was very disco-like. Non-stop music, a number of big screens and so many different shades of lights. It was not bad.
