If you find yourself in Kitchener, Ontario, make sure to stop by Smile Tiger Coffee Roasters. This charming café is a haven for coffee lovers, offering an impressive selection of seasonal, direct-trade coffees that are roasted right on-site. The ambiance is both trendy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax with a meticulously crafted cup of coffee. With its unique blend of robust flavors and subtle notes, each sip at Smile Tiger promises a delightful experience.
Really liked the vibe of this place! It’s a cozy spot to grab a hot coffee on a cold day and just relax for a bit. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. They serve their hot drinks in four different sizes, though some (like the Americano) only come in a 10 oz cup. I didn’t mind, since it was served piping hot, which I really appreciate because there’s nothing worse than a lukewarm coffee. The café itself has a great atmosphere. There’s a big, comfy couch right in the middle where you can sit back and enjoy your drink, plus a large wooden table that’s perfect for working or chatting with friends. I really liked the décor. it’s mostly wood and leather, with lots of live plants tucked into the corners, which gives the place a warm and lively feel. The music is mostly heard on the side with the big table, so it would be nice if they had a small speaker closer to the couch or counter area too. The patio outside is also a nice touch, with a few tables where you can sit when the weather’s good. Parking is limited, but there are a few spots where you can park for up to an hour. Overall, a cozy and welcoming café with great coffee, a chill vibe, and thoughtful details that make you want to come back.

Right next to the train station (VIA and GO), a GO Bus stop, and Victoria Street, Smile Tiger Coffee Roasters is handy to whatever mode of transportation your using! And with weekday hours of 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, they’re open to both ends of your commute! They’ve managed to make it both cozy and roomy at the same time. I haven’t seen it crowded, but all three times I’ve been there this month, the flow has been constant. Lots of staff and tons of awesome pastries keep things moving! When I noted the absence of “Cortado” on the drink list, the Smile Tiger reply was, “Ah! No worries, we call it a Gibraltar!” Served in a chunky Gibraltar glass, their Cortado was consistently smooth across my three visits! This morning, I had one with a warmed up Caramelized Onion Goat Cheese Pinwheel! Yuuummm!

Vibe is really nice. The employee was nice. The patty was cold in the middle of all 3 we got. They don't put their prices for the food anywhere. The cappuccino was the tiniest coffee I've ever seen and tasted like espresso and strong black coffee. Tbh I wouldn't come back, if nothing else because the prices of the food went listed. They could charge you more just because they don't like you or if you're a foreigner. Shady.
Cait — Google review
One of the best coffee shops in town, great coffee and alot of options for snacks or small lunches. Building is beautiful and always really clean and tidy. Lots of places to plug in and charge phones or laptops if needed. Right beside the train station which makes it convenient if youre waiting for the GO
M R — Google review
One of the best coffee places I’ve been to recently. My personal favourite is the matcha ice tea, its the best in town. I tried their Flat white and Iced Americano, trust me both were out of this world, I take no sugar but if you add sugar to it, the risk of diluting the flavours is on you 😹 Additionally, I tried their patties and subs, they are worth a try. If you are looking for a quiet place to mind your business with best coffee along side, this is THE place, if you’re in Kitchener. You can just take a refill and continue working there until your soul is filled with caffeine for the day 🫶🏻
Sonali R — Google review
This place have a great vibe the food there is great. If you like desserts its definitely somewhere I'd recommend for a sweet breakfast. My only complaint is the staff complaining about my request to warm a sandwich I had order while they thought I couldn't hear them.

I love stopping in here before or after my train ride. The lattes here are great and they have a great selection of treats from carrot cake to muffins and scones! Definitely recommend!
Adelaide B — Google review
Fiancé was craving a cream cheese and honey bagel so we stopped by Smile Tiger Coffee and ordered one. This is what we got, at first I thought it was just butter and honey. I asked if maybe it was a mistake but was told the cream cheese had melted because it was hot. Honestly it felt like they really cheaped out on the cream cheese. I get that times are tough but this was disappointing. The coffee here is solid but if you want a proper bagel, I’d suggest heading to Poppy’s instead. We went there right after and the difference was night and day loaded with cream cheese and honey the way it should be. Stick to the coffee at Tiger.

Cafe Pyrus is a charming and community-driven coffee shop located in downtown Kitchener. It offers a diverse, plant-based menu with a focus on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients. The cafe serves organic, fair-trade coffee alongside vegan light bites and thoughtfully sourced espresso drinks. Whether you're looking for a healthy breakfast wrap or a hearty griller on an organic farmers bun, Cafe Pyrus has delicious options to kickstart your day.
Cafe Pyrus is a gem in the heart of Kitchener Downtown. This was my first visit as a friend arranged a reunion at this cute cafe. It’s a vegan heaven for all those who are vegan and even if not, this place is a must-try! Their menu offers, burritos to sandwiches to soups and salads and I cannot stress enough how delicious everything is. The ambience is incredibly cozy and comfortable. Staff was amazing and very welcoming and professional. Food was 💯🫶🏻. Ample of street parking right opposite to it. I had a chance to try their Chickpea Melt and still in a food coma, their soup of the day - Roasted red pepper soup was super delicious and comforting. Coffee is amazing too.. can go on and on! Pls give it a shot and experience yourself! #supportlocal my peeps!
Shailee N — Google review
Definitely a great option for those looking for a vegan, vegetarian focused cafe. Originally I didn’t even notice the BLT and other typical meat prominent sandwiches were made with plant based meats. I ordered a combo with their soup of the day. The soup wasn’t my favourite. It was far too watery with veggies that definitely needed some more time simmering. The BLT in the other hand was phenomenal and worth ordering.
Harsukhman — Google review
I’m not even vegetarian, but the food here is so good that I honestly forget about all the meat dishes I usually love. I crave their sandwiches all the time. The menu is full of unique combinations and flavors that come together so well. Their coffee drinks are also some of the best I’ve ever had in KW. The quality is always consistent too; I order through Uber Eats often and have never had a single issue.
Sahar R — Google review
This charming restaurant served delicious food. I indulged in “The Club,” while my boyfriend opted for “The A.L.T.” However, the only downside was the 40-minute wait for our food to arrive.
Kat — Google review
Lovely and quiet place for a snack and coffee. I loved the hospitality and the choices of food, perfect variety and allergy friendly/free. April and Tess were charming and worked very fast during the rush. Would definitely visit again!
Rita Y — Google review
I come here often and it's my favorite cafe. I love how all the menu options are available to me and just 2 or 3 like other places. I love the compostable packaging. And right now they have pumpkin spice kids cookie and it's very delicious, also nice and light which surprised me. Every time I come the coffee is still well brewed, I haven't had a burnt coffee from here. All their roasts are delicious but I like the light roast if I'm getting a flavor syrup, helps the taste come through well. And their lunch menu is amazing, my favorite is the A.L.T. I highly recommend this place to everyone
Jean C — Google review
I’ve been stopping by the café at the Kitchener Public Library location pretty regularly. This time I used a free coffee voucher they gave me at the downtown location and the girl at the counter actually asked if I found it on the road. Excuse me? That’s not just rude, it’s disrespectful. If you can’t show basic manners, you shouldn’t be serving customers. Hire sensible people who know how to treat others. I’m done with this location. Good luck keeping customers with that attitude.
Gladwin — Google review
Does this spot even need a review? It is so consistent with its offerings - delicious gluten free and vegan option food, paired with great coffee, and dessert! I have always loved the kale salad, and any GF muffin I can get my hands on. A KW staple.

Matter of Taste Coffee Roaster, located in Kitchener and established in 2004, is a charming coffee shop known for its carefully sourced coffee and espresso drinks, as well as delectable pastries and gelato. This establishment takes pride in roasting its own beans and collaborating with esteemed Master Roasters to offer a diverse selection of specialty coffees. Committed to sustainability and fostering strong relationships, Matter of Taste continually seeks out unique coffees to share with their customers.
Good reviews on Google Maps lured me to this place, otherwise I probably wouldn't have come here. Their coffee is really excellent, and the ice cream was also very tasty, even if the selection is quite limited. The positives are the outdoor patio and nice decent staff. However, I find the design of the cafe so impersonal, cold.

Always been reluctant to try scones but damn their cheese and chives scone here is absolutely divine. Highly recommended. It's so soft and buttery with a nice little crunch outside and. I'm going back for these! The maple cinnamon latte was pretty good as well. The girl who served us today was so kind and really love the atmosphere!

I don’t know how I haven’t reviewed this cafe yet, I come here quite often! Matter of taste is my go to in the evening hours since they have longer open times than most local cafes. I’ve had many of their treats, including scones, artichoke pastries, peach iced teas, matcha iced teas, pinkalicious, strawberry matcha, etc. and all have been great :) their matcha especially is good quality and always refreshing. I need to try their gelato this year!! My favourites are the matcha iced tea, their peach iced tea, and strawberry matcha. The atmosphere is charming and quaint, with postcard memorabilia and old maps of kitchener decorating the place. There is plenty of seating, but during afternoon hours it can get quite full :) I often have coffee dates, read, or just pop by for a quick break here. Its also next to the second hand book shop so you can totally make a fun adventure outta that. They also have an outdoor patio. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Edit: tried their peach iced tea this year and their gelato! Peach iced tea seemed different to last year, much stronger fruit flavour almost tasting like apricots? But still refreshing. The GELATO THOUGH. Worth the hype. I got the salted caramel and fudge one. It was delightfully rich. Excellent chocolate flavour. I will be back to try their other flavours.

Came here for the first time on Saturday with my cousin to have a coffee and catch up. We both decided to try the honey lavender oat latte under their house specials and absolutely loved it. The latte was made perfectly and wasn't too sweet! After the first sip, we both regretted only ordering a medium because we ended up getting another one - it was just that good! I'll definitely be back!
Kristie P — Google review
My husband and myself are huge coffee fanatics/experts and we love going to different coffee shops. We always order an espresso and a fun drink. The employee that was working was lovely, very nice, and answered all of our coffee questions! CKW is saturated with many coffee shops but only few people know what they are actually doing! Matter of taste is definitely in our top 4 picks! Can’t wait to go back!
Rosiejaz_ — Google review
Really cute coffee shop nestled in hectic downtown Kitchener. The location is almost across the street from City Hall - we took our teas there and enjoyed taking a moment to relax in the Anorak chairs while we ate our cookie. I tried the Cherry Rose Green Tea which was delicious. Hubby had the Earl Gray Tea. Both teas were very tasty. We also tried the Ginger Cookie - yummy!
Nanc.y.b — Google review
Unfortunately unable to review there coffee. Ordered a half-decaf americano, its an easy drink to make and can be done a couple of ways. Told it cant be done, I offered an alternative, cant be done, I offered another alternative, cant be done. Simply went to the next coffee shop where it apparently can be done, and quite well. Otherwise the place has a nice atmosphere and simply needs to work on basic customer service.
MacLean R — Google review
I love that it is open late, til 9pm most nights. And I have never struggled to find a seat (so far). Pro tip: they have delicious Gelato, so if Four All has a line out the door, you can get an ice cream treat here that is the same or better!

The Yeti Cafe is a charming and quirky spot located near the Kitchener Market. This hipster-like cafe offers a fantastic range of breakfast and lunch options, including wraps, egg-based sandwiches, bagels, and sweet treats. Their signature dish, the Brunchie, features scrambled eggs, peameal, cheddar, caramelized onions, and greens on fresh organic bread.
i am not a breakfast person but decided to try this cafe for breakfast nonetheless. i wanted the bagel with salmon and sour cream but unfortunately it wasn’t available so i decided to order the kids menu instead. you get to choose three things. the cafe itself has a very cozy and homely feeling to it. the food was absolutely delicious!!! the portions were just right and everything was spot on! definitely the highlight of my day!!!!!!
Amy — Google review
If I’m going to write the occasional review, I prefer to focus on rewarding businesses with positive ones due to their commendable customer service and quality of products… However, every now and again I feel a social obligation to give the people a heads up on businesses I think they may want to avoid. I came into the Yeti Cafe today and asked about what kind of breakfast options they had, I was addressed by someone with the most neutral presence and with no smile or appealing energy. They handed me a menu and told me I could come back up to the counter after made my selection. It’s crazy because this pace is literally the smallest cafe I have ever been to, and apparently they can’t even come to your table to take your order, anyways I reluctantly returned to the counter and ordered “the Beckie”. I was actually asked to settle up right away at the counter before I even received my food which seemed strange to me. When I sat down, the table was dirty and clearly hadn’t been wiped clean since the last customer. Anyways, it came to $25.71 after tax, no tip included, and I believe it may have been the worst $25 I have ever spent on a breakfast as per the pics. For that price you think they could at least give you a third egg and bit more meat. When I asked how much it was for an extra egg, they said $3.00 for 2 eggs; so not only are they charging a $1.50/ egg but apparently force you to buy two lol. I definitely don’t recommend this place if you want any type of decent customer service, a clean table, or your food to be of decent value for your money.
Derek M — Google review
Cute spot, but super overpriced for the quality. The food was tasty, but definitely not worth the price. The salmon sandwich came out to $23 after tax and tip, and the peameal sandwich with cheese and pickles was $17.50. An iced latte was $8.20 — which felt meh. It also seemed like they didn’t have an ice machine and were using store-bought ice, which they spilled on the counter before using… not sure how clean that was. Staff were friendly, and the place itself is cute, but overall it felt overpriced for what we got. I wouldn’t come back for brunch. Spent $25 per person just for that :(.

Such a charming coffee and breakfast spot. So much character and right across the street from the farmer’s market. Love their coffee!! I also tried their Sasquatch sandwich and it tasted fresh and delicious. 💗💞 Perfect - no notes!!

A cozy cafe in the heart of downtown kitchener with a good spread of delicious food. Vibe was charming and energy radiates thru the cafe. The main reason I loved loved visit this cafe was - support to local. Bread , milk and more are sourced from local vendors and shops which made the food even more fresh and amazing. Eby manor chocolate milk was served. Prices are a bit more , and its a self serve. I wish they had more sweeter options for breakfast ( like pancakes , crepes). You get a little pony instead of buzzer or number once you place the order. Overall its a nice to visit and enjoy food with fam and frns.
Synddu R — Google review
Very cool place. Has a great vibe. Our party of 4 all enjoyed our meals. Only feedback is that I had an item that was advertised as having "trout lox" on a bagel. Good amount of trout on it, which was nice, but it was smoked trout, not lox. People do use the terms interchangeably a lot when they don't know, but lox is just salt-cured / brined but not cooked or smoked. Still good but I did want to suggest correcting the menu. I am trying to remember if the menu said "smoked trout lox" perhaps, in which case the fault would be mine, but then I would still suggest taking "lox" off of that menu item as it does not make sense.

Settlement Coffee Roasters in Waterloo is a popular spot that fills up quickly, so it's best to arrive early. The bright and plant-filled atmosphere creates a refreshing ambiance, making it an ideal place for studying or catching up with friends. They offer a variety of toasts, waffles, and coffee options that make for perfect study snacks. The interior exudes chill vibes with warm lighting, plenty of tables for working on laptops or tablets, and cozy nooks at the back.
Settlement is one of my favourite coffee shops in KW. Make that 2 of my favourite coffee shops. Here in Waterloo, the seating is a bit tricky - typically full in the main room, but there's another room at the back, a little cozy nook with several more tables for small groups. Sweet! Settlement gets my vote for best tea service: good quality selection of loose leaf tea, served in a press, with a timer so you know when to pour. Add your own milk to taste. Tea done right, unlike almost every chain coffee shop. Oh - I ordered a waffle - pic attached - and the room filled with that fresh waffley griddle smell. Delicious.

Disclaimer: I haven’t tried everything here so the review isn’t fully encompassing of the coffee shop... Cool hipster place where you can get some studying done (for all students who go to Laurier to UW ;) and they have one of the best London Fog teas I’ve tried. Veggie bagel sandwich isn’t all that special. The interior vibes are super chill with warm lighting, outlets for charging, plenty of desktop tables for tablets and what not (also pillows everywhere in the back). Staff is also super friendly and quick to get orders out :) Other than that good coffee shop!
Sukhraj H — Google review
Exceptional coffee, great staff, and great ambiance. In particular, this place has a cortado on the menu that the barista did a great job in crafting. The milk, foam, espresso ratio was spot on and I believe a well made cortado is a mark of a superior coffee shop. Also bought their holiday beans as a gift.
Randeep G — Google review
I went to Settlement Co. at around 5pm on December 18th and 3 words I have to describe the place are welcoming, unique and options. The pros: - The decor/environment of the place is incredibly peaceful and energetic with the mix of wood and nature elements - A lot of both classic and unique seating with benches and tables - Lovely drink presentation with loose leaf tea coming in a french press and timer for when the tea will be ready and coffee coming in glass mugs - Plenty of outlets everywhere, clearly encourage people to come and do work here The ONLY con of the place is just that I found it to be a bit expensive as I paid $4 for loose leaf tea that wasn't advertised as fair trade or anything but I also might've just missed a sign saying anything about that. Overall, this is a must stop cafe in Waterloo, especially if you are looking for a comfortable place to get some work done or chat with friends

I had the V60 pour over. Good service and nice atmosphere. I especially like how many of their drinks (including the tea) are served with a mug and carafe. But at over $5 for the pour over I was hoping to be wanting to buy a bag of their coffee afterwards.

Great little coffee place. Been here twice. Regular coffee is good. My wife got a something I can’t pronounce. Chocolate chip banana muffins and the apple fritters were excellent.

I took off one star today because of the fact that they don’t have a choice of sugar-free options . Wish they would add a sugar-free vanilla syrup for those that have diabetes and health problems! My husband went in there today to order a Chai. He was very irritated that they had no sugar free selection so he left without ordering anytthing. The coffee itself is excellent. When you see a chimney and you can smell roasted coffee smoke billowing out of it. Can’t get any fresher than this. Breakfast cookies are hearty filling not too sweet!

The ladies here are kind. I got an iced matcha with some sweetener and a vanilla and lavender shot. It was good, I do wish it had a bit more matcha flavour as I tasted the milk more than the matcha but it’s always a hit or miss with matcha so no hate.

Nice place to go for a cofee. The waitress was a bit rude and not pleasant to talk to. But the place is nice in general. The coffee is good. Lucero Canteen, formerly known as Show and Tell, has a charming aesthetic and serves excellent coffee. It stands out in the region for offering unique snacks like cre diplomat-filled Berliners with ceremonial matcha from South Korea. The attention to detail in making coffee is impeccable, leaving a lasting impression on visitors. While some staff members may not be the friendliest, the overall experience comes highly recommended.
I only work in downtown core Kitchener once a week, once in a while, and it'll either be Lucero Canteen or Matter of Taste. I always look forward to what they have in their bakery selection and get a bunch to share. They also have a small selection of freshly roasted beans on their shelves, always fun to get one or two and save yourself shipping fees buying them online. If the owner could settle a debate for me versus my fine colleagues: how is Lucero meant to be pronounced? Anyway, it's a very comfy place, a bench outside looking out a small road between Duke and King, so it's nice air without too much car and foot traffic but you can still people watch. Seating is fine to bring a friend... maybe leave the 3rd wheel at home.

Oh, the coffee was grand! A most wonderful cup! Such a cozy, good vibe as I sat looking up! The pastries were tasty, a sweet, happy bite! But I wish *more* food choices had hopped into sight!

Great service and atmosphere for enjoying a coffee and a pastry. The peach mango donut was so yummy. Fluffy and soft. Not too sweet. Filling was generous. I want another one already. The flash brew was also good for a hot day. Very nutty.

I was doing my little morning walk when I stumbled upon this cute little gem of a café. It’s really nice to have something in this close to where I live, especially since I moved back from Toronto. The prices are what I am use to paying and Toronto and it’s really delicious and their coffee is amazing. I definitely will be coming back.

Probably the best coffee in KW; the baristas clearly care about and have a good knowledge of their craft. The service is friendly, and the drinks are excellent. The new shop is well decorated and cozy, but maybe a bit warm on a hot day. This is my go-to for a great coffee when I’m in Kitchener.
Joel D — Google review
Lucero has the best coffee in the area, hands down. Beautiful rotating selection of beans to choose from, both to buy in bags and of course in your coffee. The staff is super friendly and make the whole experience of your visit wonderful. And their Doughnuts are perfection!
Cassidy S — Google review
Lucero Canteen definitely has a charming aesthetic, the setting is cute, the decor is thoughtfully curated, and the overall vibe is warm and inviting. It’s the kind of spot you’d want to stumble into on a slow weekend or while exploring the area. The staff were also lovely: friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. That said, the experience unfortunately didn’t live up to the price point. We found the coffee and snack options to be quite overpriced for what they were. The quality just didn’t match the cost, and nothing really stood out as special or memorable. For the same price, or even less, you can get much better coffee and food just around the corner at Starbucks, which we ended up doing afterward. Overall, while Lucero Canteen has potential and offers a cute space to hang out, it felt more like a style-over-substance kind of place. Worth a visit if you’re curious, but not somewhere we’d go out of our way to return to.

Lucero is a really cozy and beautiful cafe with a calm, peaceful energy that makes it feel like a little escape. It’s not huge, but there’s a good amount of seating, and the space itself is lovely. It actually reminds me a bit of Luke’s Diner from Gilmore Girls since they don’t allow laptops, which encourages people to be more present and connect with each other :) super neat. It can get a bit loud depending on when you go, since most people are there to chat. Personally, I probably wouldn’t go there to read or unwind quietly for that reason, but if you’re looking to catch up with a friend or enjoy a lively atmosphere, it’s great. So far I’ve tried their iced matcha and their strawberry iced matcha. I really wanted to love them, but I found the flavor a little watery and not as full-bodied as I usually like. That might just be my personal preference though, because a lot of my friends are fans. I also had the strawberry lavender cookie croissant, which looked beautiful but was a bit dry. The flavor was nice, but I couldn’t really taste the lavender, and I don’t think I’d get it again. That said, I’ve heard amazing things about their coffee and donuts, so I definitely want to go back and try more. Their pastries tend to sell out pretty fast, so it’s probably best to go earlier in the day if there’s something specific you want to try. They also have a different selection of pastries each time, I’m not sure if it’s on a rotating basis. The prices are a little on the higher side, but I think it feels fair for the quality, presentation, and overall experience. The staff are warm and friendly, and the service has been quick both times I’ve visited, especially when it’s not too busy. I love the energy of this place and I’m definitely planning to keep coming back. Excited to feel out what my favourite order is :)

The cozy and welcoming atmosphere makes it a great spot to relax or study. The menu includes tasty and healthy food options for breakfast and lunch until 2 p.m., with gluten-free and vegetarian choices available. Additionally, the cafe provides a modern interior with a nice ambiance, making it an ideal place to hang out with friends or warm up during cold days.
Perfect spot to start your day! Stopped in for breakfast and was impressed. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I had the tomato pesto cheese toast and butter pancakes, and they were perfectly prepared The coffee was strong and smooth, and service was friendly. There were vegan options. Highly recommend for a relaxing and satisfying morning!

This community café in downtown Waterloo is such a lovely find! It has a very cozy and welcoming ambiance that makes you want to sit down and stay a while. They’ve thoughtfully created different spaces to suit everyone: a children’s play area filled with toys (perfect for keeping little ones engaged while parents enjoy their cappuccino), a book stand if you’re in the mood to read, and both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating is warm and inviting, while the patio is a real treat as it’s surrounded by trees, it feels breezy and peaceful, making dining outside a genuinely pleasant experience. You’ll notice a mix of mismatched furniture and cutlery, but that only adds to the warm, inviting charm of this community café ☕️ The food here is delightful, and their weekend specials are definitely the highlight. Each weekend they offer something unique beyond their usual menu, and it’s always worth trying. I once tried their artichoke wrap from the weekend special, and it was simply delicious, very flavourful and satisfying! On the other hand I tried their veggie black bean burger from their menu and it was just okay (a bit dry and felt like it was missing some toppings like onion, pickles!), but overall the food is nice and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful even when it was busy. A lovely spot to relax with family or friends.

I visited this café about two years ago but didn’t get a chance to sit down. This time, I had more time and ordered a few pastries along with our coffees. Overall, it was a good experience. The coffee tasted good, my latte was a bit on the cold side, but still enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There’s plenty of seating, mostly set up for small groups of 2–3 people, but there are also two larger shared tables on opposite sides of the café if you’re with a bigger group or don’t mind sitting with others. The pastries were fresh and decent, not anything special, but still good. The washrooms were clean and well maintained. Street parking is limited, so you might have to circle around a bit. The noise level inside is moderate and never gets too loud, which makes it a nice spot to relax or get some work done. They also have a full tea menu if you’re not in the mood for coffee. The outdoor seating area is a nice touch for warmer days, with a few tables available. Overall, a solid spot for coffee and a light bite.

Nice cozy cafe. Lots of food options and coffee choices. Even their gluten free scones were good. Coffee cake was good and the blueberry scone was the best. Will definitely be back.
Adam F — Google review
This was my first time visiting Seven Shores and my first impression was honestly just how lovely and cozy it is. From the outside it looks small, but inside it’s surprisingly big with several different seating areas. One room even has a large dining-room sized table surrounded by smaller tables, and there’s art covering the walls, big bright windows, and soft, warm colours that give it an almost Scandinavian vibe. There’s even a kids’ area and baskets of blankets you can borrow. It’s such a pretty space. I can totally see myself coming back on a snowy winter day. The menu is simple but has a nice variety (it kind of reminded me of Smile Tiger’s menu: earthy and no-fuss). My friend and I both got iced coffees which were super affordable (around $2) and you add your own cream/syrup. We also ordered the cheddar egg English muffin. It was exactly what you’d expect — nothing fancy — but still satisfying and worth the price. I do wish they had more vegetarian options. Service was really friendly. The staff call out your name when your order is ready. They were really understanding when my friend’s tap payment didn’t work and still let her take her drink while she figured it out. The noise level was medium but still pleasant, and there’s a big outdoor patio with lots of seating too. They also have cute little chalkboard signs when they sell out of items-lots of charm in this place! It’s also really well located right by Waterloo Square. Overall it’s a really warm, inviting cafe. I’d definitely come back for a quick bite or to try their soups and salads next time :)
Melissa A — Google review
The salad was very tasty. No acknowledgment from the staff behind the counter: no hello, nothing, just chatting amongst themselves. Finally I managed to get their attention and place an order. Loud super personal conversations in the dinning rooms while a few students study with their headphones on. I guess you either love it here or you are like me.

Bakery
Nestled at the border of Kitchener and Waterloo, Sabletine Fine Pastries Inc is a charming French bakery that has quickly become a local favorite. Known for its exquisite selection of refined pastries and cakes, this delightful spot also offers daily lunch specials featuring savory options like quiche and sandwiches—all reasonably priced around $6.
Amazing treats, lovely gifts and a very cozy space. I saw chairs and tables in the Google Maps listing but this is NOT a sit down place, it's just perfect for picking up fresh bakery items.

I absolutely love this place. HIGHLY recommend the croissants (my fave is the almond), but they have plenty of tasty pastries. I love that they've got the most authentic French-patisserie feel in town. Everything I've had is delicious.
Meg O — Google review
DOG HAIR IN CROISSANT!! As long-time customers of Sabeltine, we were deeply disappointed by how the owner handled a recent issue that should have been addressed with care and professionalism. We purchased four almond croissants, only to find a dog hair embedded in one of them. Given the health concerns, we contacted the owner, hoping for a swift resolution. Unfortunately, she offered to refund only the one croissant with the hair, and when we explained that we no longer felt comfortable eating the others, she dismissively told us that what we chose to do with them was “up to us.” As a nurse, I was shocked by her lack of concern for food safety and customer trust. We had hoped to support a local business, but the owner’s arrogant response and disregard for our legitimate concerns were appalling. Her handling of this situation shows a complete lack of respect for the hard-earned money of her customers, especially in today’s economy. Where there’s one hair, there could be more, and this experience has left us questioning the standards at Sabeltine. We regret that our long-standing support for this business ended in such an unsatisfactory and dismissive manner.

Great bakery, excellent & delicious hand crafted pastries. Very nice staff, always welcoming and patient. Definitely our go-to bakery in the KW region, highly recommend it.

Purchased a beautiful chocolate cake for a birthday. It was a decadent cake, perfect for chocolate lovers. It was my first time, I will definitely be back to try more sweet treats!

Still amazing for flavour, quality, selection, and service. Friendly and helpful server served up some delicious choices. Fresh, delicious, and heavenly. Honestly haven't tasted better anywhere in the world. PREVIOUS: Absolutely delicious! Daughter said that we haven't tasted croissants like this and I would agree. The chocolate and almond butter croissants were flaky, buttery, and flavourful, with good quality chocolate. There was a long lineup of 10+ people when we arrived at 11 am on Sun, a half hour after opening, and after eating these, I can see why. There was a great selection of options and it was cute inside. Staff were friendly and efficient, and did well trying to keep people moving through. Prices were reasonable and less than we have seen elsewhere. We're looking forward to trying EVERYTHING on the menu eventually. Compared with the other trendy croissant place Hazukido, I would say they are equal in presentation and appearance, but these guys definitely have them beat on flavour.
Cory S — Google review
I've shopped here twice for special pastries for family gatherings. These are the finest pastries you will find in KW. The ingredients must be top shelf because everything is creamy, smooth, layers of flavours, beautiful colours and presentation, crisp pastries and crusts... Everything is perfect and everyone is always in awe of the creations on offer at the dinner table. My grandkids (after two events with Sabletine's creations) already know what's coming when they hear that Papa has some special desserts 😂😍. Prices are $4 - $7 for each of the large pastries (they are large!) but small versions of most large treats are available. I haven't even started on the beautiful breads, cookies, croissants... You must visit and enjoy.
Brian D — Google review
The sweets are fine, but not worth the rude treatment by their staff. I've been there several times thinking I just caught some of them an off day, however only once was helped by someone friendly. It's just down the street from my house, but they have nothing I can't find at another bakery that's as good or better and treats their customers kindly.

Darlise Cafe, located in Downtown Kitchener, is a charming and intimate spot known for its comfort-food breakfast and lunch offerings. Co-owned by Chef Darryl Howie and Liz Howie, the cafe prides itself on using fresh ingredients to create delectable dishes from scratch.
Had the best breakfast at Darlise Cafe in Kitchener this weekend! ☕️👌 Catching up with my friend, we enjoyed delicious food and top-notch service. The coffee was always topped up (bonus points for that!), and the prices were very reasonable — hard to find these days! I devoured the Chorizo Benedict, while my friend went for the Jimbos Buttermilk Fried Chicken Benedict. Both were out of this world. 🍽️ Normally a busy spot, but the messy weather gave us the perfect chance to snag a seat. Highly recommend checking this local gem out! Support local KW!

A charming cafe, good sized portion meals. Flavour profile was decent for a neighbourhood cafe. Very friendly staffs, though it seems like there is one waiter and two helpers. Breakfast took almost two hours, so it’s a place for quality time with your fellow guests.

This is a cozy café in the heart of downtown Kitchener, perfect for breakfast or brunch. The food was fresh and tasty, with a couple of well-made vegetarian options that really hit the spot. The menu had a nice selection of dishes. What made the visit even better was the service—the server was genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout. The café has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Not a huge fan of their interior, though, but their food hits a home run 🙌 Highly recommended if you're in the area and looking for a great breakfast spot with good food and warm service!

Great food! Good variety on the menu but not so big that it’s overwhelming. Fairly priced for good homemade quality. We had an eggs Benedict special, breakfast burrito, and eggs and bacon. Ask for their homemade hot sauce! It’s 🥵🔥🔥 We went Sunday afternoon and didn’t have to wait for a table. It’s fairly big inside.
Jordan N — Google review
The best breakfast restaurant in the neighbourhood. Although they have limited staff and seating capacity, the restaurant is still a popular destination. It takes about 20-30 minutes for your order to arrive but it’s worth the wait.
Kirankishore G — Google review
Went there for Sunday lunch. Had chicken+waffles, smoked salmon rösti and kid's Mac&cheese. No opinion on mac&cheese but kids finished it. Chicken&waffles with hollandaise sauce was very good.(Need to be ok with sage flavor as it is the main flavor). The side potato "pancake" was very dense & not super tasty(Maybe chose yoghurt instead). Salmon rösti was not great either, also way too dense & bland. Service was friendly but quite slow. Reasonable prices does bring the rating up to 3.5.. ended up $43.5 for 3 dishes

I have been coming to Darlise cafe fairly regularly with my boyfriend. The food is incredible. I decided to change up my usual order of the blackstone benedict to the chicken, brie and cranberry quesadilla. The chef didn't disappoint 🙂 I was especially pleased with the food. Compliments to the chef.

Food was OK - too much salt. Hashbrown / potato cake was OK. Atmosphere was OK. The place seamed to be understaffed and the owner (very friendly) was doing her best to serve and accommodate everyone. However, my wife and I waited 75 minutes for our breakfast order to arrive.

A Little Slice of Coffee Heaven Cafe O is truly a hidden gem in Kitchener-Waterloo area. If you're looking for a cozy, charming hideout that offers both a relaxing atmosphere and amazing coffee—this is your spot. The first thing you’ll fall in love with is coffee selection and well curated menu of sweet treats and savory breakfast menu. We ordered spinach feta danish (crisp flaky and fresh) and snickers butter tart ( perfect sweet , little heavy you need to share) Coffee - Hazelnut and Caramel Latte (perfect sweetness & delight to coffeeheads) Last but not least the aesthetic. I loved every corner with quotes and frames which touch your heart. Calming vibe -whether you're catching up with a friend , family, reading a book, or just need a peaceful break in your day. To top it all off, the baristas are friendly and genuinely sweet. Lots of parking. Notes: Has collection of books- grab one and indulge in reading. Kid activity books are provided as well. I see a good community of people stopping by and having a good time here. Met with two elderly people and listening to their stories melted my heart. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, Cafe O feels like a warm hug in café form- you might just fall in love too.

There were many types of coffee. I ordered a smoothie, and it was delicious. We also ordered a turkey bacon sandwich and a salmon bagel to share, and it was quite filling. Most of the customers were seniors. They served the food to the table, but water was self-serve.

I absolutely cannot say ENOUGH how much I love this cafe. It's definitely a hidden gem in the city. The atmosphere is so sweet and unique, the cappuccinos are to die for, the staff are all so kind, and a huge bonus with the book library they have on all the window sills so I can just relax, turn off my mind, and read a sweet book while enjoying my coffee. Anytime I meet a new friend, this is one of the first places I take them. I absolutely 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting KW.

Love love love! I've been eyeing this place u, a friend finally took me here. Lots of food and drink options. A variety of seating and quite a bit. Loved this place! Friendly staff! Will come again for sure!

I have been meeting with a friend here once a month. I love the atmosphere with the mini library, the bright window corner and the many different types of of tables and chairs. It gives the place a "feel at home" quality. The bathrooms makes you think of fancy hotels. They have many different styles of sweet or savory foods (cake, scones, lunch bakes) and interesting drinks. I love their chocolate croissant, which is not super sweet or overly chocolatey, but just perfect! And I love their maté mixed with fruit drinks. Something I haven't seen much elsewhere. Actually, I should be telling you all that this is a terrible place, just so I can keep this Pearl as my private place, but I won't do that to the owners. It's like a fancy place with normal prices. I will definitely keep visiting! I may add photos at a later date.

This place refreshes my faith in humanity. It represents everything that community run business/operation should aspire to be. When I went there, the staff were training a young employee how to prepare the meal and providing important life skills. The atmosphere is great with books to read and lots of space. The food is also excellent and at a great price. Finally, the food is made in consideration of broader environmental and cultural factors (vegetarian menu prepared during techniques from around the world).

EcoCafe, located in St. Jacobs, is a charming local spot that exudes a strong sense of community and commitment to quality coffee and tea. This place is a littel hidden gem - was a bit hard to find honestly! But I am also a bit directionally challenged and always feel like i am tresspassing... My issue not yours reader so ignore me. I had a flat white, a original breakfast sandwich and a mixed bery scone. All three were fantastic, particularly the breakfast sandwich. Upon first look, I was sceptical but the ingredients seemed fresh and delicious - i would imagine locally sourced to some degree given the area. The coffee was also fantastic - I do indeed recommend the flat white, though I cannot speak to their drip coffee. Pets (dogs) are allowed, and every single customer but me seemed to have a dog, so keep that in mind.. popular spot for doggos. I will undoubtably be coming back to this place as I continue to explore local little spots in this area.

Gorgeous cafe located at end of the st.jacobs downtown street along with the Conestoga river. We had mochaccino which was arguably the best I ever had, American was nice too and the server suggested us their breakfast sandwich with peameal and their in house garlic sauce which hit the right spot. The food and drinks were above par but the patio along side the river was cherry on top! It made our day as it was calming and serene to have a coffee along water side.

I've walked by the EcoCafe a few times, and each time I've hesitated to check the place out. Probably influenced by the familiarity of the Stone Crock Bakery down the street, I usually headed to a location more familiar. Today I decided to check the place out and I'm really glad I did. Walking into the place I was welcomed by a friendly barista, an inviting and warm atmosphere, and myriad options for my breakfast meal. I eventually opted for two of the September specials; the harvest bagel (cucumbers, pickled onions, and cream cheese on my choice of bagel) and a toffee nut lattee (a latte sweetened with caramel and hazelnut, with a light whip on top). My bagel was delicious despite not having my usual everything bagel flavour, and I'm glad I opted for the cheddar and cranberry option. The latte, also, was delicious and being able to have dairy from local farmers was an additional treat! I would have taken a picture of my order, but it would seem I'm not very good at this whole "take the photo before I scarf the meal down" sequence of events 😅 All of this to add to some lovely service from the two workers this morning and I have to safely and surely say I will be coming back. Thank you for the lovely start to my morning!

I have been to the EcoCafe many times over the years. It’s such a rustic little cafe with chairs upholstered from vintage coffee sacks and other memorabilia. So a nice atmosphere, but the coffee is also top notch. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s around $10 for an americano and a latte. The latte was not only robust and creamy, it was also presented beautifully. I highly recommend stopping anytime you’re in the village of St. Jacobs.

Show & Tell Coffee, located at 30 Ontario Street North, is a cozy spot where you can enjoy locally sourced and wholesome drinks. The coffee shop offers a variety of in-house made items and prides itself on using quality ingredients. Despite being busy at times, the service is efficient with wait times around 10 minutes even during peak hours. Their popular Nicaraguan blend and iced matcha latte are highly recommended by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Show&Tell is a charming, cozy little shop in the heart of DTK! Their coconut-almond milk blend makes for some unique and delicious drinks, but the coconut flavour was a bit overpowering in my flat white! I look forward to returning and trying more items on their menu!

We went on a weekend and it was quite busy there. A big group ordered in front of us, but it didn’t take too long, around 10 minutes. They were out of their strawberry purée so we got the iced latte with the Nicaraguan blend, which is their most popular one according to the barista, and the iced matcha latte. They don’t usually add sweeter to their drinks so that the matcha and coffee can shine but they are very accommodating if you ask. They also have milk alternatives for additional cost. The staff there are very nice and knowledgeable, plus the drinks are always delicious. Support your local coffee shop!

Best new coffee shop downtown Kitchener. The lattes with the coconut & almond blend milk is amazing. They now have an oat milk and it's even more amazing, try it! Also I love that the matcha latte is traditional and not sweetened. Great atmosphere, friendly barristas and amazing coffee 😋. Enjoy!

Are the drinks here a bit on the expensive side? Yes. But it’s def one of my fav spots since they do rotate different coffee from different roasters from different places, and it’s fun to try. The staff here is always friendly, too!

Best coffee in town! Good place to pick up beans that you can't get anywhere else in KW. Friendly staff. A place for some real coffee culture. As things start to ramp up as the pandemic begins to slow down, they are busier than ever and the best destination for coffee in South Western Ontario. Go there!

We stumbled across this place by accident and were definitely glad we did. Staff was super friendly and the inside of the store was full of plants and cool things to look at. We got perfectly made strawberry matchas and awesome doughnuts.

I finally made it to this coffee shop! There matcha was on point and delicious. The only drawback was that they don’t have a sign anywhere outside with there name, which is there concept is what was told to me when I asked them, but still not having a name sign outside causes confusion. It just says coffee shop so I didn’t know if I was going to some random coffee shop or to show n tell coffee.

If you find yourself in Kitchener, make sure to stop by Stockyards Coffee, a charming boutique coffee roastery and café located within the innovative Catalyst137. This delightful spot is all about fostering meaningful connections—from the dedicated farmers who grow their beans to the talented baristas who craft each cup with care. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal place for both relaxation and productivity.
A real gem in Kitchener and a go-to café of mine! The coffee is fantastic, but the food is even better. The breakfast burrito is delicious, and I recently tried a cheese and chive scone that was life-changing. Perfectly crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. Never thought I could get so excited about a scone but here we are. It’s a great place to settle in and get some work done among the techies of Catalyst.

I was in the #Kitchener area last week and popped into the @stockyardscoffee cafe that’s right next to the Stockyards Brewery & Restaurant. It was a Super cool, vibrant & very modern open spacious cafe. Great space to hang out or catch-up on some work. I had an Oat Flat White & an Americano + bought some fresh beans for my home brewing.

The cafe is located in a pretty good spot and with lots of parking available. They have a lot of seating space inside. Food options are very limited but they have good beverage options. We tried their sandwiches which were okayish. Coffees & croissant were alright. I would go back here for the coffee and ambience definitely.

Fancy cafe. Perfect ambience and good coffee. However, I don’t understand the sizes .. . . Ordered a Large Iced Latte but got a regular size (after being told we offer S,M & L) and a different server said there is no sizes for iced drinks (they only apply to hot beverages) - ummm ok! But I’ll visit again for the vibe / taste !

A great down to earth coffee bar at the Catalyst 137 building... The espresso is smooth and energizing, the cookies are light delights, and the sandwiches are filling and fresh. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always wearing a pleasant smile. Comfy seats and armchairs, lots of natural light, surprisingly not much noise, mostly professional clientele with their laptops or holding meetings.

Love love love this place. Amazing coffees: there’s something for everyone. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff too. They seem to always be experimenting with new flavours. I tried their whiskey nitro cold brew the other day, which was delicious (and pretty cool - definitely recommend for whiskey lovers).

Cavan Coffee, a charming and cozy coffee shop, opened just three months before the onset of COVID-19. The owners were thrilled to have the opportunity to sell their coffee online during this challenging time. The shop offers a relaxed atmosphere where customers can savor their tea or coffee while enjoying the cozy ambiance. With a variety of beans and teas to choose from, patrons can watch their pour-over being prepared right in front of them.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stop in here today for our coffee. Coffee black was delicious. If you like your coffee, you know, you can't drink it black if it's not good coffee. Also had a homemade granola bar, with tahini, spread on top.😋 Service was awesome and friendly and helpful. Washrooms were clean. The only thing I would have liked, which is just a personal preference... Is cozy cushioning seating. This would take it over the top.

Grabbed some espresso beans for my own machine at home and WOW. Rivals the best coffees I had in NZ which is saying something. Highly recommend for espresso lovers. Hadn't been in years and years and not since I became an espresso fan. Now I see I've been missing out! Top spot in Guelph for sure.

We were looking for a place to have great coffee before the Donkey Sanctuary opened for the afternoon and found Cavan Coffee. We ordered a cappuccino and a latte and 2 blueberry scones. We were served by the owner. I believe his name was Jer. He made us 2 excellent coffees and the scones were delicious. I highly recommend Cavan Coffee for discerning coffee lovers.

Adorable coffee shop. This to me isn't a grab and run type of place. You need to get a tea or coffee and stay there to get the full feeling of being in a cozy establishment. Get a pour over and watch the coffee being made in front of you. Different beans to choose from and a great variety of teas as well. Whether reading a book, chatting with friends or working on school work, the atmosphere is ready for you to enjoy. When you walk in you also see the people you are supporting. Must go!!!!

Not just the best coffee in Guelph, but the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been buying espresso #3 beans for 3+ years and every iteration is fantastic. Extremely friendly service regardless of who’s working. I’m a customer for life. Thank you!

This spot is such a vibe and the menu is currated so thoughtfully! I ordered an iced vanilla latte and was pleasantly surprised to find my icecubes were literally coffee so my beverage never got watered down. Super delicious. Definitely will be coming back to hang around and do some work next time

Nice place! Atmosphere: It is a very quiet place to study. Food/Drink comments: I can't comment on their coffee or drinks because I didn't have any. I purchased an assortment of their treats. I came here because I noticed the Stefani cookie from Killer Cupcakes in one of the pictures of the reviewers of Cavan Coffee on Google Maps. Cavan Coffee sells desserts mostly sourced from Killer Cupcakes and With the Grain. However, it seems that the desserts aren't delivered daily because the Billionaire cookie wasn't fresh, and I noticed it because I am a huge fan of Killer Cupcakes. The worker said that Killer Cupcakes was making a delivery to their place the next day (Tuesday), so it sounded like it isn't a daily delivery. Some of Cavan's desserts are baked in-house. According to their employee, they are in the process of hiring an in-house baker. Vegan: They have a vegan Monster cookie. Types of Dining: Indoor and takeout. Parking: They have free parking in their parking lot. Wheelchair accessibility: They have wheelchair accessible spots right in front of their store. Other: They have a high chair for babies.

I recently had the opportunity to try Tirelice for the first time, and I must say it was extremely soft and melted in my mouth. Additionally, I sampled their almond baklava which was equally delightful. If you find yourself in downtown Kitchener, I highly suggest taking a moment to visit this bakery. I am already planning my next visit primarily for their delicious breakfast options.
Crushed Almond Bakery Cafe is a true hidden gem and an absolute must-visit for anyone who wants a genuine taste of Turkey. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, making you feel like you've discovered a new family favorite. The desserts are simply amazing. While everything is delicious, the baklava is an absolute masterpiece—perfectly flaky, nutty, and not overly sweet. It pairs beautifully with their authentic Turkish coffee, which is prepared perfectly. The strong, rich flavor of the coffee is the ideal contrast to the sweetness of the pastries, creating a truly unforgettable experience. It's not just a cafe; it's a little slice of Turkish culture. You can even do a little shopping, with a great selection of authentic Turkish goods available to take home. The owners are incredibly friendly and passionate about what they do. I would highly recommend Crushed Almond Bakery Cafe to everyone. It’s a wonderful spot that will transport your taste buds straight to Turkey.

The most wonderful little cafe in the area. Food is fresh and so flavourful. Customer service is excellent too. It’s worth repeating. My wife and I come here weekly. Definitely try the Acma and Simit sandwiches, but the star is the Baklava Cheesecake.
Bilal — Google review
I cannot get enough of this Turkish vegetarian breakfast, lunch/brunch cafe. The semi-retired owner is so passionate. She refuses to settle for less than her vision dispute price; which is refreshing in today's environment. The goat cheese they use is Turkish (made in Germany), which is probably the best goat cheese you can get in town. The salads uses greens from the baker's garden, and the variety of breads they have are made in-house. Their flagship is their baklava. Being able to taste the notes of subtile flavour in them, these are some of the best baklava I had never had. I love coming here for afternoon fresh tea and lunch.

What a charming Café! The friendly owners make these exquisite pastries, both savory and sweet, that are all traditionally Turkish. I had a delicious sandwich with a strong Turkish tea. My daughter and I went there for breakfast at Rose Cafe this morning. I've been wanting to go for so long. It was beautiful, well decorated and the acoustics were very good as there were multiple groups dining. It wasn't loud and my daughter and I could talk normally without feeling like we were being loud or bothering anyone. The Food was fantastic. The only thing I'd say was they really need 2 people on staff as service was a bit slow and stand offish as it took the server a while to come over to us when we arrived. Other than that, def will be making plans to have a girls brunch with my other daughter at a later date. Highly recommend.

This is such a cute spot! The best part about this cafe is how well decorated it is. I tried the dubai chocolate strawberry cup and I enjoyed it. My friends got the matcha and said that it’s not that good though, they said it mostly just tasted like milk.
Kayla V — Google review
The drinks were a little sweeter than I'm used to, but what did it for me was the aroma of real rose. A unique treat. The pistachio cheesecake was huge and two of us could barely finish it. The cheesecake part, was lighter and not too sweet. That worked because if it had been incredibly sweet then the chocolate pistachio drizzle would have been too much. As it was, it was just right.

Went with 2 friends for Sunday brunch. Great food, very helpful staff. We all had the pink hummus toast, which was both gorgeous and delicious. I had the hot lavender latte (with a heart in the foam), and a shawarma pizza. Wish I had asked the name of the server to recognize her personally. I plan to return. Old American guy.

My friend and I tried their new Dubai Chocolate Croissant. It looked amazing, but unfortunately, the quality was disappointing. The croissant was clearly not fresh and seemed to have been microwaved. It was so tough that we could barely cut through it, and chewing it was a struggle. We were really excited to try it, but it ended up being a letdown. I tried to finish it because I don’t like wasting food, but the end was just too hard to eat.

The environment was so cozy and peaceful, making it perfect for getting my assignment done. I came here because a friend recommended it. We were a group of 5, ordering capochino, two teas, a dessert, and hot water. The coffee is brewed automatically, so no fancy here. When we tried the hot water, I noticed that it tasted salty and I could not finish it. The tea drinkers said the same thing. It seems their water is unfiltered, which significantly changed the taste of tea. The atmosphere was ok.

I have been going to this location ever since i was in middle school so around 8 years now. I have always studied here growing up through middle school, high school and university. It’s amazing and I have showed so many people around and have brought them here. I have never ever have had any problems. I recently went to this location on good friday with my friend to study for our exams. I recently introduced her to the study spot and she likes it so we went again. We order 3 Drinks which were amazing and we studied at one of the booths. When we first came in there was a group of maybe 8 people using up 4 small coffee seats to make a big table and the spot we usually sit in, the corner booth was reserved. We sat right beside the corner booth but we love sitting at the corner booth, i’ve certainly have always have. I went to order my 3rd drink and this guy, i believe him name is Nick. He had the worse attitude with me. I was waiting for my drink and my friend saw the corner booth was available and starts moving our stuff over and with a snobby attitude goes, “You guys are only studying so why are u sitting at the corner booth.” I say oh we came here a few days ago and we love sitting at the corner booth that’s all? and he goes “well it’s only for groups of 5 and over.” I say “ that’s weird cuz, one, the people who just reserved that seat only had a party of 3 and i always have sat at that booth and i’ve never have had any problems. And there’s people alone using up a whole booth and you aren’t telling them to move? He then goes on to say in these exact words “ well if i see a group of people, ill have no problem moving you guys.” …. Pardon? who feels comfortable saying that to anyone with a nasty attitude ??? I would’ve had no problem if he kindly said “sorry ma’am we have a new rule about the number of people who could sit at the corner booth.” we would’ve gladly moved. It was his attitude and way he was talking with me that completely threw me off. Later throughout the night he literally was eyeing us down i wish i was kidding. We were so respectful as well, we both had headphones on and order plenty of drinks and do our own thing and he only bothered us the entire time. I wish he could’ve been nicer about it, if that rule were true. I’ve attached pictures of others taking up a whole booth by themselves without him bothering them. So rude and i’ve never experienced this type of customer service especially somewhere i have gone for 8 years. Nick’s attitude and customer service is terrible. We will be going to the waterloo location for now on.
Elizabeth S — Google review
Unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing experience. I ordered a wrap and a few drinks—a matcha latte, cappuccino, and a regular latte—but none of them were good. The chicken and veggie wrap were completely bland, with no flavour at all, and the drinks were honestly terrible. On top of that, the customer service was really disappointing. The staff didn’t seem to care much, and it felt like we were more of a bother than customers. I was really hoping for a nice meal and a good coffee, but this visit fell way short of expectations. Definitely not an experience I’d want to repeat.
Harnoor K — Google review
I had written a nice experience from last week, but after I revisited yesterday, I deleted my comments and am writing it again. I was surprised by the nice staff last week, but the owner who was working yesterday was the terrible person I had ever seen. The situation was we ordered our food and drinks and took a seat. The queue was long behind us. Our drinks and two of the orders were received. We waited for the other three orders. Meanwhile, we could see that the other customers who were after us received all their orders. After about 20 minutes of waiting, the owner came with one of the orders to us. I asked him why the other customers were served first, and he replied that they ordered simple foods that are not a problem at all to be served first. Whatever he is, an owner or a manager, he could just ask for a sorry for the delay, not a mean manner. He ruined our Saturday brunch what pissed me off. I lost my appetite and didn't touch my food. I thought I found a nice Café to enjoy our usual weekend's brunch, but I will never come back here. At least we can still go to the Boardwalk branch where the owner is friendly.
Julia S — Google review
Absolutely Terrible Experience – Staff Need Serious Training One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a café. The staff acted like I was a burden the moment I walked in — no greeting, no smile, just cold stares and attitude like I was interrupting their day by simply ordering something. Their body language screamed "I don’t care," and they made zero effort to be polite or helpful. It’s honestly shocking how comfortable they seemed treating customers with complete indifference and borderline hostility. If you’re in the business of hospitality, at the very least, you should treat people with basic respect — not like they’re an inconvenience. Never going back. And I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who expects decent service or even basic courtesy. Get your coffee elsewhere — where you're not made to feel like a nuisance for walking through the door.
Ritik B — Google review
I had the worst experience of my time in Canada at this location. Just coming out of Coffee Culture cafe My wife and I were sitting inside the café when suddenly, without any notice, all the lights went off and the entire place went completely silent and dark. I also tried to open the door but it was locked. It was terrifying — we had no idea what was happening. We started panicking, and I even shouted for help, but there was nobody around. Only after several more minutes did a staff member appear and casually say, “Oh, I was there only” This was shocking and unacceptable. Customers should never be left alone in total darkness like this without any communication or assistance. This experience was extremely unprofessional, unsafe, and frightening for us. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
GULFAM N — Google review
Muted chatter, the clinking of cups, and the gentle hum of the espresso machine - a good café never fails to uplift your mood. Hoping for a good cup of coffee, I visited Coffee Culture Café and Eatery (1 King St W, Kitchener, ON N2G 1A1). A cozy café and eatery specialising in coffee and breakfast foods, this place does live up to their claim of 'brewing each cup with a passion for quality' even if their food menu is slightly disappointing. The café latte I ordered made for the perfect start to the day - warm and utterly comforting, the blend of coffee beans, milk, and sugar was the best way to wake me up. However, the quality of the piri piri chicken wrap was wanting, especially considering the price charged. The piri piri sauce did not live up to my expectations of tangy and spicy, making for a rather bland meal that left me slightly unsatisfied. All things considered though, l'd still recommend the café for its beverages and its ambience. The area was warm and cozy with a gorgeous Christmas decor that definitely put me in the holiday spirit. If you're looking for a place for coffee, pastries, and a desk to study and/ or catch up with friends, l'd suggest a visit. Just be sure to order the food carefully. City Cafe Bakery - West Ave. is a beloved spot known for its freshly baked breads, pastries, and croissants that are made daily. The bakery operates on an honors system where customers can select their items and pay by placing cash in the provided box. It's a popular choice for breakfast, offering warm sourdough bread, Montreal-style bagels, and more. With its vintage charm and nostalgic atmosphere, stepping inside feels like a journey back in time.
I visited a charming little café today that felt like a step back in time. No AC, no tech—just a cozy, local vibe. You serve yourself, cut your own bagel , add your own toppings, and everything is super fresh. Prices are cheap, and the staff and customers are incredibly friendly. It’s cash only and feels like a true old-town gem. Simple, homey, and worth a visit!

City Cafe Bakery is one of my favorite spots in Kitchener. Their bagels are awesome, fresh, chewy, and just perfect. The coffee is great too, making it a perfect combo for breakfast or a snack. I love grabbing a bagel and coffee to go and then taking a walk on the nearby trail. It’s such a nice way to start the day. The prices are really affordable, which is a big plus. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are always friendly.

City Cafe Bakery on West Ave is a true hidden gem in Kitchener. Their fresh, wood-fired bagels and croissants are incredible—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and always fresh. I love the honor-system payment setup—it gives the place a nostalgic, community vibe. You just grab what you want and drop cash in the box. Seating is limited, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot, but the staff are super friendly and everything I’ve tried (including their sandwiches and tarts) has been delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for simple, high-quality baked goods in a laid-back setting. Just be sure to come early and bring cash!

We were dropping by a family members house and wanted to get some pastries and found this place. It's a nice small family run place, fresh pastries, bagels and donuts are made here. We picked up some pastries and for $2.50 each I found it very reasonable for the size of the pastries available. We picked up up a chocolate scone, blueberry scone, butter pecan tarts, butter tarts, chocolate brownies and date squares. Everything was so tasty and fresh, we will go back again when we are in this area.

This is one of those hidden gems you only find by living in the city and listening to the locals. No flashy social media or photoshopped pictures; just the real thing. It’s more than a bakery. It’s history, culture, and life all packed into one cozy spot. The moment you walk in, it feels like stepping back into the 90s. You can smell the charcoal before you even get out of your car. Every corner and every item on the wall tells a story. It honestly feels like a live museum, with the baking happening right in front of you. Even the staff uniforms match the old-school vibe. Ordering can be a bit confusing the first time: grab a tray, pick what you want, and line up to pay. Cash is preferred, but they also accept e-transfers. Definitely try the bagels and butter tarts; they’re amazing. But the real standout is the sandwiches made in the charcoal oven. We had the turkey sandwich, and it was next level. Smoky, fresh, full of flavor, and only $11 for a generous portion, served with coleslaw and pickled cucumbers. Total steal. Everything on the menu is fairly priced with solid portions. The staff are incredible. The lady who worked there even came to our table to chat and share some of the bakery’s backstory. We also met the owner, a truly kind and lovely man. They both offered us a treat on the house, but we said we’d save it for next time. All in all, a one-of-a-kind experience. You can’t buy this kind of vibe; it’s built over time with love. Simply put: the best, most tasty, friendly food locale in KW. We live close by and visit whenever we can. We come for the delicious treats but we stay for the staff (like Robert and Karen), who always make us feel welcome. Thanks for being an essential hub of the Belmont-Victoria Park community!

Death Valley's Little Brother is a cozy and modern haunt that offers bespoke coffee drinks, single-malt scotch, and artisanal baked goods. The atmosphere is low-key with live music adding to the ambiance. The staff is friendly, although service can be slow at times. The coffee selection is good, and the nitro cold brew comes highly recommended. With vintage interiors and a soothing vibe, it's a great place to relax or collaborate with friends or colleagues.
Rustic charm, warm environment, and beautifully crafted espresso. If that's not enough they have curated a beautiful selection of whiskey as well.
Jeff P — Google review
You'll find this a very soothing and relaxing place. They have vintage interiors and they go well with the lights and furniture. Coffee and hot chocolate both are quiet good. We enjoyed the stay here, you can talk and collaborate here with your team mates or friends. The staff is friendly and they serve hot.

Low key atmosphere, the coffee selection is good, we like to come hang out for a bit. I enjoy the nitro cold brew and the staff are friendly and fun. The atmosphere is chill and cozy, with low light. There is alcohol available at this location that can be added to any drink you may choose to order. There is some food items available at this location that you may choose to order, such as a creme brule among other sweet treats available.

The place is really nice. The person who took care of us was really friendly. But the coffee was bad. I don’t know if it was the beans or the girls who didn’t know how to make it. I ordered a pour over and my girlfriend a latte. I was surprised cause being good coffee beans and in the case of the latte they have an espresso machine of La Marzocco. But the coffee tasted burned. I don’t know if it was just a bad day but I’d think it twice to come back there for a coffee.

I will give a 4.5 star if google will allow me to give a half star. The pour over coffee is great! The choice of bean they use have have a sweet aftertaste and a fruity scent.

Probably my most favourite coffee shop in Waterloo (asides from Williams). Really unique feel to the place, nice atmosphere, great drinks, great place to take a date for coffee. Prices for the drinks are a bit pricey than other coffee shops but well justified.
Nelson S — Google review
Cute little place with a great ambiance. They don't have a lot of choices for drinks, especially not blended beverages. Went there for a coffee date and it turned out to be a picture-taking and editing session together!
Saahi K — Google review
Cozy little shop with a great atmosphere. I went with a group of friends after dinner nearby for coffee and dessert. The live music was great and really added to the atmosphere. The staff was friendly, if a bit slow, given that it wasn't especially busy and no one else was in line in front of us. We weren't in any rush though so I didn't mind. The butter tart was ok as the pastry was on the soft side and bordering on soggy while the filling was a bit to gelatinous for my liking. It wasn't bad, but I have high expectations for butter tarts, just to provide some context. The lemon square, however, was absolutely amazing. The lemon filling was very tart and the crust was bang on. Good decaf coffee is hard to come by in this city, but this place delivered on that front as well. Not perfect, but for the things that I was looking for, this place delivered.

Play A Latte Cafe, established in 2018, offers a unique concept that combines a cafe for adults with a play space for kids. The cafe provides specialty drinks like espressos and cortados, as well as sandwiches and baked goods, while the little ones can enjoy playing on wooden structures and engaging in various activities. The spacious area allows children to burn off energy while caregivers relax. The cafe also features gender-neutral washrooms with changing tables and is stroller-friendly.
We had the best day celebrating our daughters 3rd birthday yesterday! She absolutely loved it. The play area was clean, lots of fun, and the staff were so kind, & helpful. What a cute spot!!!

Absolutely love Play A Latte! Found it about 2 years ago and never forgot it. I make a point of stopping in whenever I'm in Kitchener. Their coffee is great but their chocolate walnut donut and fruit/cherry/orange (varies) donuts are big and taste exactly like the old tim hortons ones from when I was a kid. Heard someone mention that they actually ARE the original recipe before tim hortons changed it! ❤️ It's a great play place for kids, they sell fun activity kits to do at home with little ones And it's licenced to serve alcohol. Can't recommend it enough!

Our family will forever love Play A Latte Cafe! We miss going so much ( we moved away ) but our kids always ask when we can go back. This is a must have visit for any local or tourist if you have kids and want to sit down while they play! We used to go here 2-3 times a week. Our kids loved it so much! They have so many delicious food options that mom and dad miss lol. The girls always made us the best hot/iced coffee and sandwiches.

Held a 5th birthday for my daughter and the space and staff member Lindsay were great. She made sure everything went smoothly. We had a princess attend the party and the studio space was great for crafts and our pizza party.

Amazing atmosphere to grab a coffee while the kids enjoy the activities and play on the wooden structures. Lots of room for little ones to burn off energy. Washrooms are spacious, gender neutral and some have change tables. Stroller friendly front lobby and hallways. ECE's lead daily group sessions for the kids. Studio spaces are available for rent for birthday parties. Adults should make sure to bring along socks since they are required in the play area for both kids and parents!
Felipe G — Google review
Our 3 year old had a great time playing here. He enjoyed both the play structures and the soft building blocks, plus the see saw. The bathroom is a single, and is large and clean and made changing my little one easy and relatively quick. My husband and I enjoyed their coffee and herbal teas respectively. We went in the late afternoon on Saturday and while there was a steady amount of people it did not feel overcrowded at all. Will definitely be going back.
Asma W — Google review
A great idea, combining a play space for the kids and some much needed coffee for parents! And they have an ECE come in weekday mornings for circle time. A good space but a few more smaller toys around to play with would be good. And the slides are a bit fast so if you have a little one (my guy is just shy of 2) then make you you're with them. But overall, great place, I would highly recommend!

We have never had anything but amazing experiences at Playalatte! Sometimes we just come to shop and grab a coffee because we like to support local. The atmosphere is so genuine and it is such a comfortable place to bring my kiddos. I like that it is small enough that you do not need to worry about losing site of your child and the option to sit and have a coffee while they play is truly genius! Cafe Pyrus Outpost is a charming cafe conveniently situated near the Spurline Trail in Waterloo, making it an ideal stop for hikers and cyclists. The cafe is renowned for its delectable vegan and gluten-free baked goods as well as gelato. While the menu can be a bit confusing due to chalk-written options, the cafe offers a variety of vegan coffee and treats, including seasonal specials like pumpkin spice. Additionally, there are ample seating options both inside and outside the cafe.
This place is a GEM! I am gluten and dairy free and I have never had SO many options to choose from! The staff was extremely knowledgeable about allergies and able to guide me about what items were soy free too which was perfect for my CMPA baby!! I have dreams about the ginger molasses sugar cookie weeks later. I have to stop myself from going back every day. Thank you, Cafe Pyrus, for making me one happy mama! Also amazing they are located right beside a paved path, perfect for stroller walks.

Lazy service. Twisted logic. Ordered 4 baked goods with our coffee. Server brings it out quick. Very nice surprise because serving the two customers ahead of us took an unusually long time. Were used to the long waits- im aware these guys take their time. Walk over to picnic tables and find that sausage, savory croissant are not heated. Go back- woman refuses to warm them- citing food safety. We say we just bought these. No sorry she says. We ask why food wasn't warmed to begin with. Sorry I was very busy was the response. Offers us a cinnamon bun as a replacement for the $25 of cold food we ordered. Unacceptable. No refund was offered. In short, food was terrible, service was terrible. Guess I'll save my money next time. Also, a spanakopita is NOT a croissant. If it's circular and not crescent shaped and not made with layers of laminated dough it's NOT a croissant. So, stop with the false advertising.

All vegan baked goods, great sandwiches, all reasonably priced. we went more than once during our visit as we LOVED it.
Swapna S — Google review
They are very nice here. I wish that I could afford their unique treats! But actually, sometimes I can!... because Cafe Pyrus regularly donates their day olds to us less-capables by way of the community fridges around back... The ones that... drum roll... happen to be the best community pantry/fridge location in all K-W! Yeah, woo! Literally the coolest. Two fridges. Don't worry, only a handful of us desperate souls are feral to the point of scattering countless items around ourselves while repacking our bags after grabbing some gluten free peanut butter chocolate chip muffins from the back, muttering incoherently. Even fewer would dare approach the seating area. Oh no. Not with the laundered smell of the middle class wafting around from the front, dancing around the small wooden cabin along with the echoes of lighthearted smalltalk and laughs that know no despair beyond grandma's hip surgery, which, huh, I guess ranks highly. Me, I do my best to twist a smile of greeting onto my face whenever I make the mistake of shuffling up from around the back corner of the building during open hours, suddenly in full view of happy families on rainbow picnic tables eating snacks, as parents try not to visibly tense up and I try to twist directly towards the pantry door and claw it open, desperate to make it clear as quickly as possible that I am not coming any closer or making needless eye contact. Phew. Thats why we mostly come at night. Mostly. Please oh please will this make Google stop requesting my review over and over again?

Nice little café by a trail with good coffee and tea options and tasty treats. Among the tea options, their icy London Town is heavenly! Although this café is famous for its many non-dairy milk options, it has dairy milk and cream as well. Please note that the coffee itself is tasty but is a bit strong. So, if you are not into strong coffee I suggest you get yours in a small size. There are a couple of benches outside the cafe for seating.

I went to get some food from them. They charged me 10% tip on my order without asking me. I later confronted the girl on counter and she said that they take 10% tip from everyone and it’s written somewhere on the board, I asked her to show me on the board because there is nothing like that written on the board and you can’t take 10% tip from everyone forcefully. Then she said that we don’t get option on the computer to not add the 10% tip on any order. After that I told her that show me what options it shows when you take order and it had No tip option on the screen. I told her that you have the option to select No Tip so why did you not do it, then she was like I can give you the refund, I’m sorry. I told her that I have been to Kitchener cafe pyrus also and they never charged me like this. I dint take back the refund from her but that’s very unprofessional of her. Whoever goes there just be careful of this thing. Most funny thing is that on the bill they write we promise not to poison our planet, our employees or OUR CUSTOMERS FOR PROFIT.😂 See the photos I’m adding you will see it written there.

The Bauer Bakery & Café, situated in the heart of midtown at The Bauer Kitchen, offers a delightful array of light meals and delectable sweets. From Nutter Butter cookies to tantalizing croissants, the bakery's baked goods are renowned for their exceptional quality. Patrons can savor the aromatic Bauer Signature Roast coffee sourced from Baden Coffee Co., or indulge in expertly crafted espresso-based beverages from Propeller Coffee Co.
The Bauer Bakery & Cafe was conveniently located along my walk so I stopped by for an espresso drink and I was pleasantly surprised! I've been to the Bauer kitchen multiple times but have never stopped by their cafe. I honestly wasn't expecting too much as the last few espresso based drinks I've ordered have been pretty unimpressive. However, I ordered a cortado and after one sip it brought me back to my days in Rome where I enjoyed delicious and authentic Italian espressos. The Bauer Bakery & Cafe's espresso was perfectly roasted and not acidic. It had a rich and bold flavour that is chocolatey-smooth without being too bitter. I would definitely return here again if this is their standard!

Exploring cafés in Kitchener-Waterloo is a constant adventure, and The Bauer Bakery & Café (187 King St S #102, Waterloo, ON N2J 11) is definitely worth adding to the list. This charming neighborhood spot offers a variety of pastries, lunch specials, crafted coffee, and to-go options like beer and cocktails. Now, onto what I ordered! The strawberry mascarpone croissant was beautifully flaky, with crisp, buttery layers revealing a creamy mascarpone filling. The fresh strawberries brought just the right sweetness, perfectly complementing the tangy mascarpone. On the savory side, the mushroom and leek quiche was a satisfying delight. Its buttery crust encased a rich, custardy filling, where earthy mushrooms and sweet leeks blended into a comforting yet sophisticated bite. And of course, I couldn't leave without trying the matcha latte. This one stood out with its vibrant, freshly whisked matcha and rich flavor. The steamed milk's creamy texture balanced the matcha's robust earthiness, creating a well-rounded cup for any matcha lover. Each bite and sip confirmed The Bauer Bakery & Café as a gem in the heart of Waterloo. With an inviting atmosphere and thoughtfully crafted menu items, it's perfect for a quick lunch or a leisurely treat. Whether you're into pastries, quiches, or matcha, this café is sure to satisfy. I tried Bauer Bakery & Cafe for coffee and a snack on a Thursday mid-morning. I tried a fruit tart and a strawberry mascarpone croissant (see photos) — both of which were delicious and reasonably priced. My drip coffee was very tasty, with a nice flavour. I also decided to try a cortado, though I’d caution that it’s more like a small latte here. Instead of the traditional 3 or 4-oz cup, it was served in a larger cup with more milk than espresso, and the milk was a bit too aerated, making the drink a bit more frothy as opposed to smooth. Despite this, I still enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back!

I loved coming here! There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. They offer a good variety of sandwiches as well as drinks, including both alcoholic and caffeinated options. The sandwiches were very tasty, though I didn’t realize the chicken was deli-style and that was kinda disappointing.

One of my favorite spots in uptown waterloo for a quick bite or light lunch. Ingredients are very good which makes good quality great. Not a fan of their hot drinks (latte didn’t taste as expected). Service could be better, takes quite a while to get one sandwich (hence my rating of 4 stars instead of 5). My favorite is the California veggie sandwich, and their soup and salads are good too. Recommend this.
Naima S — Google review
Let me paint the picture. The sun finally shines in the pale grey skies of Waterloo. The weather is approaching positive temperatures, the melted ice is glistening. What better to pair than a nice refreshing drink? I notice a local spot, the princess cafe, which I’d heard many good things about in the past. To my surprise, only 1 customer was in line in front of me. I was ecstatic and scanned the menu only to be unable to find any cold drink options. So I did the next best thing and took a beverage from the fridge, which was nice and cold, however I’d like to note that no prices on these drinks were advertised. To my disappointment, the customer (who only ordered 2 coffees) took approximately 30 minutes. During which time, the workers continued smiling awkwardly at me to acknowledge the delay in the wait. By the time my turn arrived, there was a line of 10 people populated behind me. The cashier read my total to me and I audibly gasped, $10???? Am I being served gold??? I thought to myself. She turned the till to me and confirmed the amount: 10.14. I hesitantly removed my phone from my pocket to pay. The faint ding of the Apple Pay notification displaying from my phone. I retreated, embarrassed and ashamed that I had spent nearly an hour of wage on this ridiculous drink. Perhaps my bank account is not supportive of my dying will to support local businesses. And here I was, a local customer, one wrong financial decision closer to sadness. In addition, my cognitive capacity took another toll as I sipped the drink, hoping to be taken to the stars by the flavourful taste considering the astronomical amount of money I had just paid. But no, the stars were not aligned in my favor, Mars was in retrograde, as my drink was about room temperature.
Pershia N — Google review
A great spot to chill and talk! theres a bunch if seating spots and it makes it great. Only thing was the drinks we got a match and a lavender latter. The lavender latter had no hint of lavender, and the matcha was slightly too sweet. Otherwise, definitely check it out as it's a cute little aesthetic spot.
Zhina B — Google review
A HIDDEN GEM. I would not have thought to come and eat in here if it wasn't for someone bringing me here. The only reason why I gave it a four-star for atmosphere instead of a five was because there wasnt a ton of seating, either window seating, or a few along the wall. But I did enjoy the hightop table. Just not my TOTAL preference. But!!!! The food was oh my goodness, chefs kiss! We ordered the MUSHROOM MELT and The YAMWHICH. The pesto, the cheese, the crunch of the bread. The sweet potato in the yamwhich. 🤤 So very worth it! We also purchased the cookie, which was a cinnamon toast crunch with white chocolate. Very sweet! As well as sparking drinks, that as usual smell absolutely amazing but the taste is always meh. NOT the cafes fault. The people working that day were wonderful and I will be 1000% coming back, bringing others to drool over your food and recommending to as many as I can. Thank you for being such an exceptional little cafe.

The sandwiches are fine, just very expensive. Their other food is bad though and their menu is small. The staff are nice. But I hated my experience there because of the atmosphere. Their chairs are super high and have no arm rests. They don't look stable and are pretty flimsy. They are very unsafe. I need to sit in a normal chair so they put me across the hall in a study room. Like their place is so bad all children, elderly, injured (on crutches) and disabled people have to sit in a completely separate room outside of the Cafe. I can't believe they treat people like this.

I loooove the princess cafe. The sandwiches are SO good, worth every penny and the drinks are yummy. Love working in the Annex and chilling in the cafe. The seperated spaces are a super cool idea. The dishware is super cute too.

My favourite place to study uptown! They have a separate room attached to the cafe with tables for those wanting to sit down and study (with purchase at the cafe of course), and they will deliver your food/drinks to you! The actual cafe is quite beautiful with lots of character and vintage decor, and their sandwiches/paninis are delicious!!!

Nestled in a picturesque setting, Melville Café offers a delightful dining experience with both indoor and outdoor seating options perfect for breakfast, lunch, or just a cozy coffee break. This charming spot stands out among local alternatives to the big coffee chains, providing an inviting atmosphere where you can savor delicious food and beverages. Patrons rave about the exceptional customer service; staff members are known for their attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure your visit is memorable.
Melville Cafe is truly a gem! The sandwiches are nothing short of excellent, bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients that really elevate the experience. Don't miss out on their desserts – they are an absolute must-try! Each one is a delightful treat that perfectly complements the savory offerings. The ambiance of the cafe is stunning, with a beautiful view that enhances the overall experience. It's the perfect setting for catching up with friends or simply enjoying a quiet moment. The decor is inviting and thoughtfully designed, making it a delightful place to spend your time. What really stands out, though, is the staff. They are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to help with recommendations or ensure you have everything you need for a great dining experience. Overall, Melville Cafe is a wonderful spot that combines delicious food, a lovely atmosphere, and fantastic service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a cozy place to relax!

Visited here on a relatively dreary afternoon in March. Was relatively hungry and as such got a pizza. It was served very hot and as such I burned my mouth… was likely over eager on my first bite. Not a problem though as I thoroughly enjoyed regardless. Crust was thin and the cheese was melty. Coffees were delectable and I enjoyed sipping on my beverage post coffee. The lemon square was good, though would have likely been a bit nicer served colder. It was a bit gooey. All in all - great little spot! I would certainly come back for a coffee and a pastry and a quiet spot to work.

Great location over the water! Really adorable atmosphere inside too. Cute patio for the summer. I want to go back and try the food because I only came for a drink! Fun sodas!

I’ve been coming here for years now as my wife and I love the Ceasar salads. However the last few times I’ve come they have lost the care in the quality in my opinion. It consistently gets worse. These are the pictures of our last visit and the salads are half of what we’ve been getting for years as well as little to no toppings (bacon bits and parmesan cheese). The visit before this last one we could barely taste the dressing which was one of our favourites about coming here. Yet the cost is high it use to be worth it. Now I don’t think I’ll be back but I will miss it. I will say the staff is and has always been great but hopefully they see this and do better in the future in regards to the quality of what they are handing out.

This place is an absolute gem. The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious. I love the Margherita pizza and Tuscan pizza. They taste very authentic and I feel like I am in Italy. Highly recommend coming here for a bite and the price for these two was $24.45 which is good.

This is a great spot to relax for a snack or a meal. Nice selection of hot and cold beverages. Bonus points for a simple selection of alcohol. The atmosphere is nice. It's adjoining a gallery where you can see architecture theses. And it's close to everything in the city centre. I just wish it was open later!

Love to sip coffee here by the window overlooking the Grand River. Lovely location and the jasmine climber outside is very fragrant during summer.

We came to visit St. Jacob Farmer's Market and took a Tractor tour. The tour leader recommended this fantastic family-owned restaurant to us. Run by Mennonites, the restaurant serves delicious food. We ordered from the dinner menu, where we could choose between garlic chicken or roasted beef with mashed potatoes, coleslaw salad, and a dessert of our choice. I picked the roasted beef, which reminded me of a traditional Christmas meal. I also tried their homemade iced tea, which was delightful. Definitely recommended!
Javane R — Google review
This was our first time visiting Bonnie Lou's on a Saturday for lunch. This is a popular restaurant and we were lucky to get a table; reservations are definitely recommended. Parking at the rear of the restaurant is free and limited. This is a truly Mennonite style restaurant; has a very comfortable homie feeling. It has an old world feel and the building looks like it may have been a general store back in the pioneer days. We ordered the Roast Beef special. For $18.95 you got roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, coleslaw and your choice of dessert. It was a great value and everything tasted very good. This was as close to a home-cooked meal as you could find. The dessert, we had, a carrot cake and apple pie, were absolutely delicious! The size of these desserts were also impressive as most other restaurants don't give the size of dessert. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

We tried this place for the first time. Delightful! The breakfast food tasted great and was affordable.
David C — Google review
We were part of a bus tour group, Mary Morton, with 31 hungry souls. The restaurant was charming and bustling with energy by noontime. Our tables were ready and salad/coleslaw and dinner rolls were waiting to be devoured. Then the “good stuff” - platters of hot chicken and roast beef, bowls of creamy mashed potatoes, carrots, scrumptious stuffing and hot gravy quickly followed. Desserts - so many choices of delicious pies and “big” portions completed the meal. The servers were amazing - friendly, efficient and accommodating. They each made us all feel welcome.

Nestled conveniently off Highways 86 and 401, between Cambridge and Kitchener, Ontario, Williams Fresh Cafe is a delightful spot that combines efficiency with a cozy ambiance. The service here is not only swift but also friendly; diners receive a number for their table, ensuring that food arrives promptly when ready. With ample booth seating and outlets available for those looking to work on their laptops, it’s an ideal place to relax or be productive.
Really loved my experience at Williams Fresh Cafe! The ambiance is super nice ... it feels cozy but still a little upscale. The food was honestly amazing, and the way they present the dishes shows they really care about the details. I’m pretty picky when it comes to cleanliness, and this place was spotless, which made the whole experience even better. We tried the Rice Box with chicken, the Chicken Caesar Wrap, and the waffles.. all were amazing. The prices are great with big portions. Definitely one of my new favorite spots. Can’t wait to come back!

Perfectly located right off Hwys 86 or 401, between Cambridge & Kitchener, Ontario. Dishes are made FRESH and served quite hot with loads of healthy options to choose from. We wanted a light lunch so I went with a creamy Butternut Squash soup & my guest went with a chicken quesadilla and they did not disappoint. Price point was quite affordable and less than $11/person. That’s pretty perfect if you ask me. I particularly love the sunshine that comes into the dining area in the morning or afternoon! Surrounded with big windows, and natural sunlight is always a big hit and preference for me wherever I go. I will most certainly come again! I suggest you try to too.

I’ve lately been having issues with portions. I typically order a large cappuccino and usually 90% of the cup is filled with coffee and 10% is foam. This is unfortunately the 3rd time I’ve recieved a 60% coffee 40% foam split… Feels like I’m being cheated out of coffee. Edit: had a great response and issue was addressed, fantastic coffee and great atmosphere 5/5!

Best place to sit for coffee in this area. Redeemed my Xmas gift offer of free brown butter toffee latte which required a minimum $5 purchase so I got their plain waffle which was too dry and I didn’t taste much maple in the syrup. The latte was fantastic! Pass on the candy cane and maple oat latte. Was watery and bland. Bagels are bland as well.

We enjoyed our time and food at Williams Fresh Cafe. My son loved Mac and cheese.. the final touches added to it were great. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich.. it was so light and fresh... the waffles were so fresh, and the size was great.. the vanilla latteh is a must try as well. The service was great .. as we noticed the owners checking that everything was going well. The place was super clean..

I have always loved Williams. It's a shame that they are diminishing in locations. My wife and I came to this location and had the best coffee and waffles ever! The warm ambiance made it an ideal spot for unwinding or enjoying quality time with friends.
A relaxed atmosphere. Great coffee and hot chocolate. Lots of cooked goods and sandwiches. I highly recommend this place if you want to sit and relax and have coffee or lunch. They even make specialized protein shakes. Very clean, comfortable place. And who doesn't like that rainbow cake.

We visited on a Sunday evening and found the café pleasantly bustling with activity, despite being managed by just one server. Even with the crowd, the service was calm and efficient, and the server handled everything with grace and a friendly attitude. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a cozy spot to relax and enjoy some quiet time. We ordered a hot chocolate and a latte—both were well-prepared and comforting. The hot chocolate was rich and smooth, while the latte had a nice balance of flavor and strength. We also tried the rainbow cake, which not only looked vibrant and cheerful but tasted just as delightful—light, moist, and not overly sweet. Overall, it was a lovely experience. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind with a good drink, a sweet treat, and enjoy a laid-back evening. We’d definitely come back, especially to try more from the menu.

I love this branch. The cashier was very patient and gave us everything with a smile. They have various organic teas, nice and fresh baked pastries. The coffee was very good too. I like the fair trade sign. We ordered hot chocolate for kids, but they seemed not like it. The washroom was alright, but out of toilet papers, but when I told the cashier it was replaced very soon. a cozy spot with a nice atmosphere. The coffee and food are pretty good, making it a great place to relax or catch up with friends. One thing I’ve noticed, though, is that sometimes there are leftover dishes on the tables from previous customers. I usually end up clearing them myself, which isn’t a big deal, but it would be nice if the place was a bit tidier. The staff are friendly and the overall vibe is great, so it’s still a nice place to hang out. Just a little more attention to cleaning would make it even better!

Also tried their butter tart It is fun as well! I do think people at the front could be a bit more friendly. Anyway good spot to try
Simran S — Google review
I’ve really enjoyed other locations of Coffee Culture but felt this one fell short. They have walk up counter service with tables located both inside and outside on their sheltered patio. Their street facing entrance is closed; you must enter/exit at the patio doors. The weekday we arrived, at 2:30 pm, very few tables were available; none had been wiped clean. When we placed our order, we advised we were sharing our lunch order, but no additional plate or cutlery were delivered to our table when they dropped off our meal, nor did we receive any napkins (we just returned to the counter to request). We’d chosen to make our chicken Caesar wrap a combo by adding a side salad and coffee. The upgraded berry pecan side salad with blueberries and nuts sounded promising, but was drenched in too much balsamic vinegar dressing. The opposite was true with the wrap- not enough dressing, but lots of fresh, crunchy lettuce. The wrap was far too bland as seemed like it was just chicken and lettuce on a wrap. For what we paid, this lunch was not a do over for us. Desserts and specialty coffees did look appealing though.

It is nice very good food and delicious coffee drinks. Nice atmosphere, needs more staff or attention to cleanliness as dirty tables with dishes on them etc. and staff repeatedly just walk by and leave them there. Seats usually have food or crumbs on them. Staff rinse hands at hand wash sink they don't wash properly. Nice place with good coffee but service has gone down hill lately.

I had coffee here first time with my sisters and mom. I asked the lady that this is our first time. Could you suggest us whats best for less sugar and your popular ones. She just behaved really rude by pointing me to the screens. I also work in customer service we never did like this. She should welcome. Their customers with a real smile and help them properly someone taking little more minutes not going to affect her work. I hope I even not give 1 star We had super smoothy which was good. But latte and cappuccino was not. Good at all. Hot beverages meant to be hot but they weren’t. We try new things always and suggest review on google but this wasn’t good experience at all. There was good comfortable space to sit. But if customer service is not good, food is not good you won’t be able to stay there for even some minutes. Kindly work on your customer service.

Nestled on the route to St. Jacobs, Rumbletum Cafe & Gifts is a delightful find for anyone seeking a charming countryside dining experience. This quaint cafe offers a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a fairytale, making it an ideal spot for breakfast or lunch. Although I arrived after breakfast hours and opted for their lunch menu, the selection was impressive and reasonably priced. I've been driving by everyday on my way to work meaning to stop in and check it out. Well today I drove past again, turned towards work, and turned right around. I'm glad I did. Feels like you're walking into a cute fairytale. The coffee is amazing. The scones, which I'm not usually a fan of, looked too good to pass up. I ate the whole thing before I got to work. They were even kind enough to warm it up. The staff is very complimentary and pleasant. Definitely coming back with my husband so we can have a date here one day ❤️

This place is great for pictures for sure!! Food is not bad based on the price and the fact that they make it fresh. Service could be better, not that they are rude but yea the guy didn’t seem to be very happy about any questions I asked (I believe he is the owner). The whole place takes you to a very cozy old rustic time in a family house. It looks marvellous. We sat in the backyard and it looked amazing.

A very humble and rustic place The food was honestly so great. I got a little bit of everything to try out (and ended up sharing more than half because that was a lot lol) I got the blueberry lemon scone - which let me say, is massive. That’s something you will definitely want to share with at least 3 people. It’s super sweet and soft so coffee is a must ! I also got the coffee shake - I don’t know how to order my coffee to be frank I’m a processed coffee girl but once I mixed in the whipped cream 👌🏼👌🏼 My favourite was probably the egger sandwich with avocados. It’s definitely slightly pricey but frankly, worth the price because it was fresh and just it was perfect and light but full of flavour. If you are trying to support local businesses this is definitely one to be put on the map ! The entire place is super cute and homey - I will be coming back to try out the rest of the menu :)

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE EMPLOYEES!!!!!! AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A LOWER CLASS CITIZEN!!!! My boyfriend and I were attending the Belmont Fest, held on a beautiful sunny day. It was towards the end of the day, and the streets were less than busy. We wanted to grab something quick to eat, so we grabbed sandwiches from a local sub shop. Outside, we saw 2 empty tables on the sidewalk so we sat down to enjoy our food. There was no one around, and nothing on the tables that stated they were reserved in any way shape or form by any restaurant. Within minutes, an extremely rude woman came to our table and told us we had to move, the tables belonged to the Berlin. We apologized, but she stood over us, and actually physically took the table from in front of us and began moving it into the restaurant. We were stunned. We would have gladly ordered food, drinks or even dessert from the Berlin but we were never given the option. She just took our table...literally!! I would never recommend this restaurant and will not tolerate rudeness towards customers that are willing to pay for services if given the opportunity. I would stay far far away from this place and it's rude employees.

I regret not capturing an image of the scrumptious Breakfast BLT, as it was so delectable that I devoured it before considering writing this review! My purpose for visiting Aroma Cafe was to procure a dozen vegan Christmas cookies, and they were absolutely remarkable. The service provided at the cafe was outstanding, and the establishment exudes a delightful and charming ambiance.
So cozy! Nice decor and super comfortable. Visited in a snowing day how perfect to have a hot soup. Located in side a small building on 2nd floor so you need to go in side the building and go upstairs.

I went here hoping have a nice coffee and wrap. However when I got there technically was not open the seating area because of covid. Then they told me I could have my coffee outside they have tables. I ordered a cappuccino and and chicken Cesar wrap. The customer service was good coffee not over the top as other described. For me the annoying part is once I went out to sit and eat...well there are tables but from the other restaurants..so here I am with a hot coffee nowhere to sit...and then I eat my wrap and as you can see in the pic barely was any chicken....so not best experience

This tiny coffee shop is one of Waterloo's hidden jewel. A small one too, don't come here in large groups. Between the great coffee selection, the great service and the just wonderful food, I found myself coming back again and again. I recommend you give it a try, especially if you're vegetarian.

One of my most favourite lunch spots. This cozy cafe has the best homemade Korean-inspired dishes. Their bibimbop is fantastic. Excellent coffee. Grab some kimchi to go! Very genuine and friendly staff. I love it here :)

I should have taken a photo of the Breakfast BLT but it was so good that I finished it before I thought about writing this review! The reason for my trip to Aroma was to pick up a 12pc of vegan Christmas cookies and they are phenomenal. The service was excellent and the cafe has a wonderful, quaint atmosphere. Would highly recommend anyone in KW to visit and try a few things from their menu, I know I'll certainly be back! :)

Amazing breakfast sandwiches, wonderful service and 100% community oriented always finding ways to show care by raising funds and being a force for good, one coffee at a time.

Delicious homemade baked goods. I love all their cakes. Aesthetic, moist, and flavourful. I usually get a mocha or London fog. Coffee beans are roasted in house. Owners are friendly and extremely knowledgeable about coffee bean flavour profiles. I hope this cafe stays open forever. I have so many happy memories here.

Stopped by for lunch and our first time at this location. Easy access to free parking. Has exterior patio and great interior seating in a very clean and maintained atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and good knowledge of their menu. I had one of their standard coffees and it was excellent and accompanied by a turkey bacon Club sandwich with toasted thick slice bread. Awesome. My wife had a draft beer which she enjoyed very much. Make sure you stop off at this location when you are in town. I know I will.

This coffee shop is in a nice quiet location along the Grand River in Galt. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The shop itself has very nice decor with nice sitting areas with a certain amount of privacy. The coffee is good, and they make good custom drinks. Liquor... beer, wine and mixed drinks ate also served here.

I was driving by when I saw this cool cafe and what really caught my attention was the unique name! The minute I walked in I fell in love with the ambiance and the coziness of the coffee bar. I wish the service was as good as the interior of this place! I ordered a latte and pecan square and they both were okay. I was not impressed with the appearance of the coffee as I really was looking forward to taking some good Pictures and posting it on social media as I enjoy exploring new places in town. When I ordered the pecan square the barista didn’t ask me if I would like it warmed up as it was hard as rock and did even give me cutlery (like really am I going to eat it with my hands) and we were the only one that time in the shop, so it’s not like it was very busy. Apart from the service It was overall a good experience. Let’s hope the barista is trained professionally till my next visit. Cheers

It's fine. I really liked DVLB but the location is not ideal and the setting doesn't seem complete. The Americano was average and a little too full (try carrying an overly full Americano and not spill). The toast bar was disappointing. The pricing is for once piece of toast and Texas toast doesn't mean thick cut. Also, waiting over ten minutes for a piece of toast doesn't make me feel valued.

Simply the best place in Cambridge for coffee. The interior is beautiful and welcoming, spacious with plenty of seating. The coffee is fantastic, with 2 new pour overs available each month. There are baked goods, lunch foods like soups, salads, sandwiches, and toast available. Alcohol is served here as well, with a small selection of beers and wines. The staff are friendly, the food and drink are great, the location is perfect for all seasons. Make it a point to check out Blackwing.

Such a great place to sit down and have a coffee and chat with friends! I used to study here all the time during exam times and loved it! Good coffee and snack foods, great ambiance and atmosphere. Feels super cozy and has a larger range of seating than most coffee places.

This is a gem of a place! It's in a great downtown location but has plenty of parking. The seating is cozy with leather couches and tables. They have a variety of snacks including cool toast options. I had the sourdough with humus and paprika, delish! I will return soon!

The outside may not look like much, but don't let that fool you. Blackwing Coffee Bar has a cool vibe and atmosphere. The baristas greet you upon entry and there are plenty of comfortable seating areas. When your drink is ready they will shout out the order. The WiFi speed is around 20/mbps. I been here many times with my laptop and never had any issues with the internet speeds. Keep in mind Blackwing is an upscale coffee bar, so the prices will reflect that. Overall, a good place to hang out and relax.

Nestled in the picturesque countryside near St. Jacobs Market, Kara's Market Cafe is a delightful gem that embodies the charm of local dining. This family-owned establishment prides itself on serving high-quality coffee and fresh meals made from locally sourced ingredients, including eggs from nearby farms and seasonal fruits and vegetables. The warm atmosphere is complemented by friendly service that makes every guest feel like part of the family. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast or lunch, you'll be treated to an array of delicious options.
I never ever post comments online, this is literally the first but after my experience at this gem I had to. My husband and I were in this area for hot air balloon when we bumped into Kara's Cafe. The owner was amazing, extremely kind and friendly. Everything is fresh and organic, they use local produce to make everything and you can literally taste the difference. We bought coffee, smoothie, honey, local produce and of course sampled the butter chicken. Please look them up if you are ever in the area, the owner will take care of you with his amazing service.

Amazing food. Amazing people. It smells so nice in that cafe. They also buy, use, and sell local produce and items from the farms legitimately surrounding them. They also use A2 Milk. Dont drink milk? They have oat milk, almond, soy. The $10 burger and fry combo was magical! So yummy. They used pork ans beef in the burger and there was caramelized onions in the fries! They were COVID19 cautious and also have advance or online ordering.

I walk past multiple times a week when I go to work and home after. Decided to drop by after work today cause I was curious (and pretty hungry). I had the Billy Burger and the chunky monkey smoothie... Wow wow wow. That burger is next level! So juicy and flavourful. The salad that comes with it is also fantastic. The smoothie was excellent. The gentleman who served me was super friendly and charming. Made me feel super welcome right away. Definitely a place I will return to. Gotta check out their breakfast now :-)

You will not meet friendlier people than the ones that own Kara's Market Cafe. You can tell they take pride in serving quality food with a lot of care. Stopped there for the first time and was treated like I had been going there for years. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious. It is family run and they all came out to ask how are meals were. The father made the guacamole (delicious!!) Fresh in the morning. They had a good selection of coffees and produce.

I stop in for a quick lunch often during the week. The staff are super friendly and we are always greeted with a welcome. The veggie sandwich is my new favourite! And the baked goods are generously portioned and fresh. I’ve also enjoyed the soups, grab/go food and various coffee drinks. Indoor and outdoor space to eat; great for a laid back breakfast or lunch!

Just dropped on for a light meal one evening. Ordered in Red pepper and Tomato soup. It was delicious and thick, the vegetable pizzeria didn't disappoint and Apple pie was well Apple pie but tasty. Overall a decent experience but nothing great, the quantities for the price felt a bit too costly. Might try the non veg options next time, but wasn't a must try. The hostess were really courteous Ave the service was prompt and efficient.

I dislike that you can't leave half a star in the rating so I give this 3.5 stars. I got the funky monkey waffle and it was really good and I got a blended iced cappuccino which is always good there. It came out fairly fast and was nice and warm. My only complaint is the pricing, I find William's is more expensive then it really needs to be for what they serve.
Stephanie C — Google review
I tried the duble espresso and it was fresh, smooth and rich. The only observation is when the coffee drops in the cup from the machine you shouldn't see all around the splashes. The chicken pesto panini was delicious. And the turkey cider apple panini was interesting combination.

Opened up a few minutes late, variety of food and you can have Mac and cheese for breakfast so that a plus. Avocado bagel was excellent.

This place is great if you want to get a drink, finish homework or talk with friends. But their food is a little pricy for the quality. Their cakes are great but the food it’s alright in comparison to other places. Their sandwiches and salads are alright but a bit pricy. I also suggest to never get the mac n cheese as it was not good at all. And their butter chicken could be bought just down the street for 1/2 the price made authentically. Overall still love the place, just feel

I was doing doing uber eats few weeks ago and got an order from this store. When I went to pickup the order, there was a person who treated me very rudely I'm not sure he is either manager or franchise owner he was yelling at his employees and treating them badly. He showed his aggressive rude behavior at me as well even I'm not his employ. Went here with my girlfriend for a cute date, she tried ordering over easy eggs and a double double coffee the employee said they didn’t have those and that all they had were scrambled eggs, her coffee also came out stale and bitter. When we got our food there were these rubber eggs that probably came out of a tube, they are very rubbery and pretty much inedible, definitely not as fresh as the sign says, so disappointed good thing Tim’s is next door 😁.

At this particular Tim Hortons location, guests appreciate the friendly service provided by a small team of dedicated employees who consistently ensure orders are accurate and delivered promptly—often within just one to two minutes.
They've been great to me, and my wife finds the coffee better at this one than other locations. That's fine by me. The girls there have been lovely, and friendly.

Today around 2:35 pm, I ordered large coffee with one cream on the drive through but when I reached the window to pick up my coffee, I was delivered wrong order along with pastry and large coffee with double cream. I returned the stuff and told her that it was not my order. Instead of saying sorry she started blaming me that I didn’t order and came to the window without placing order. This was just extremely frustrating because instead of admitting her fault she blamed me. If she had simply said sorry for mistake, I would have had no issue with that because we are human and we make mistakes. So please work on your staff and teach them manners and how to deal with the customers.

Ordered a medium French vanilla with whip cream .. first off they didn't even fill the cup which was super annoying secondly there was a lot of weird wax looking chunks at the bottom of my drink ? ? What was that? To add insult to injury this beverage cost me over $4 so gross honestly

They act like you are inconveniencing them when placing your order. They are slow and not friendly at all, speaking to one another in a language that definitely isn't English . Which I find is extremely rude They also don't have espresso and got my doughnut order wrong. it could be done WAY better.

I just went there for three drinks. None of the kids were labeled so I asked them to tell me which was which. Some random employee came out of no where and touched all the tops of the lids to tell me which is which and I asked for new lids because I don’t know where she came from. Two employees decided to start talking loudly from the back about me and how I wanted new lids. I get the drinks back, STILL NOT LABELLED correctly and practically thrown at me through the window. There were three ladies there speaking another language while “serving” me. Happy new years I guess, don’t go there if you want to have a good day lol

Good place to work and chill! Loved the vibe and it was a bit busy on Sunday but worth the wait. Ordered a Salted Caramel Latte - it is on a sweet side but i loved the taste and aroma Food was yum as well. Must try cafe in Kitchener

Visited there for the first time, and it was nice and cozy. The coffee was especially delicious and the staff were friendly. Liked our sandwiches as well. Good that we were there early, later the cafe was getting crowded. Could see that this place is popular.

A pretty decent spot for coffee — it’s well-brewed, aromatic, and enjoyable. But the real gem here is the almond croissants! Absolutely delicious: crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. I wholeheartedly recommend them. The only downside is the service. The staff, especially those taking orders and making coffee, often come across as unfriendly and a bit condescending. What makes it worse is that I visited when the place wasn’t even busy, so if they ever try to blame this attitude on being overwhelmed — that would be far from the truth. With just a bit more warmth and hospitality, this place could be truly great.

I was so grateful and so impressed that the young lady who took my order took my severe nut allergy seriously! She gave me a takeout cup instead of a ceramic cup, just to be on the safe side, and she even washed her hands before serving me. It made me feel so relieved and safe that she took me seriously. I'm not sure of her name, but thank you so much. I will definitely be back! And besides, the coffee is amazing!!!!!!

Nobody was working the front counter to place our order and had to order from the touch screen that was very glitchy. Waited 10 min for our order as it was erased from their screen “mistakenly”, couldn’t get a receipt for my order and every open table was completely filthy. Double stacked breakfast sandwich apparently means 1/2 piece of bacon. Wouldn’t recommend this location, if the dining room was filthy I wouldn’t want to see the prep station and kitchen. I Would recommend the manager take some pride and responsibility in their role and service.

With the drive-thru under construction, I expected better service inside—but it’s been disappointing. Despite three staff behind the counter and no line, my two iced capps were not prepared while others were served who came after me. After waiting some more, I asked about my order, and a tired-looking employee apologized and made them right away. I’m a patient and understanding person, but lately the service has been poor, even when it’s not busy.

Bubble tea store
Coffee shop
Tea house
Sweet Dreams Teashop, located in Waterloo, Ontario, is a laid-back counter serve that specializes in a wide variety of teas, bubble tea, coffee drinks, panini and dumplings. It's a charming destination for tea enthusiasts and those looking for a cozy spot to relax. The shop offers an inviting atmosphere and is perfect for meeting friends or studying. Customers can enjoy delicious bubble tea with many different drink options available.
Such an amazing spot and right in the heart of the university of Waterloo. It's always so lovely here and they offer so many things to do like free braclet making, broad games, Pokémon stuff, and even more. The seating here is really nice and goes well with the lighting. They have a large menu with average prices on food. The bubble tea options here stand out and I strongly recommend the mango milk tea with mango stars, it was one of the best I've had! Along with everything, the customer service was one of the best I've seen!

The best tea spot around. Amazing drinks, and if you're hanging around for awhile you can borrow a board game, or they'll occasionally have other crafts/activities out as well. Plus they have loyalty cards, so you get a free drink every once and awhile too!

Came here a lot in the past summer since the prices are affordable. The food and drinks are delicious and they have many options that you can pick from, staff are also very friendly and will help you if any questions. Parking is a little rough depending on the time you go there but it’s definitely worth checking out if you want a sweet treat after eating in the plaza!

The ultimate premium beverage stop. A menu that tastefully caters to all beverage preferences without exceeding its bounds, every beverage item is gourmet, of the highest quality, guaranteed. Your stop won't necessarily be an unhealthy one either, as you are asked the type and amount of sweeteners you prefer, among many other options. With the breadth of choices and flavours, I have seldom ordered the same thing twice. A somewhat homely and youthful treasure trove atmosphere and decor is helped by the tucked-away location. Most of the employees don't look or seem all too happy to be there, but I can't deduct points for that. The exception is made with the tall server with glasses (please accept my sincere apologies for the lapse of memory). He is pleasant and talkative. If the prices (which are a premium for the top quality ingredients and portions, still competitive with other locations) push you away, then ask for a certain little points card, which will make your visits well worth it.

A hidden gem for amazing bubble tea! This spot has an incredible selection of bubble tea—it was almost overwhelming at first, but the staff were so helpful and friendly. I told them exactly what I was looking for, and they nailed it—the best bubble tea I’ve ever had! On top of that, the place has a fun and relaxing vibe with games and activities to enjoy while you sip. Definitely coming back!

Was my first time trying bubble tea 🤭. Really enjoyed it. Very cozy place with good choice of menu. As far as I know one of the best bubble tea places in KW

Sweet dreams remains to be the BEST place for bubbles tea and all of your tea wants and needs. Their servers are so sweet and helpful as there are many options. They have no issues explaining the entire menu to you. I always get the hazelnut taro and play around with the sweetness etc. This drink makes me so happy ! It's so beautiful and yummy. The atmosphere is amazing. There's always a puzzle going and very fun to get together with your friends or grab a table and do some work on your laptop. They also have the most beautiful cupcakes and food. Love love love this place!

Great drinks! The staff here are always super friendly whether you come in the day time or night time! A Special thanks to Ismael! He was incredibly patient with me - such a lovely gentleman. Long story short, I ordered something weeks ago and could not remember the exact name of the drink. I probably gave a name that didn't even exist (Lol). To make things harder, I gave him a butchered description of what I remember the drink looking like and he miraculously got me exactly what I was looking for. His help truly meant a lot to me. Nothing but positive vibes from him and the rest of the team :)

Red Eye Cafe and Donuts is a place that has been unknown until now. Many people have tried their Maple Skor donut and believe it to be the best they've ever had. Those who appreciate good food understand this claim is not false. The anticipation of bringing loved ones to experience the pure happiness this place offers is exciting. Though hesitant to recommend because of the fear everyone will want the best, there is no choice but to insist on checking out this establishment.
My husband and I were looking for a place to order donuts from for our wedding day in Cambridge when we came across the Red Eye Cafe and Donuts. I reached out to Megan and Larry months before our wedding to inquire about having 12 dozen donuts for our wedding and they accepted without hesitation. Communication with Megan was super easy, once they decided on the flavours for the month of September she offered for my husband and I to come in and try the ones we were curious about. Once we arrived, she gave us a complimentary dozen donuts. We were able to try every flavour and decide which ones we wanted to order. On the day of the wedding the donuts were ready to go and were absolutely delicious. The best donuts we have ever had. Months after our wedding the donuts are still a highlight for many of our guests and they have asked where we got them from so they can get more whenever they are in town. We cant thank Megan and Larry enough for all of their help and would recommend Red Eye Cafe and Donuts to anyone looking for a sweet treat. We will definitely be back!! :) Photo credit: Sophia Tubman Photography

This was my first visit today what a cute quaint cozy place. It’s a great way to just relax catch up with friends at a small cafe. The donuts are just absolutely delicious too many choices. The donuts are soft, doughy, the taste is amazing homemade for sure. Worth every bite. I can see why they have so many awards and why people are voting for them. This place is worth a visit.

Went here for the first time, i got a iced lattè with a salted caramel shot. And it wasn't the best 😔 it was much too strong and the epresso shot almost tasted burnt 😬 i think it would've tasted a bit better if they just added more milk. The doughnuts looked amazing! But i did not end up getting one.

Always a great spot for donuts and their salmon bagel is delish! Purchased a few donuts for myself and a client and they loved them! Will be back for more when I’m in town.

Nice little donut shop with some nice selection of coffees etc.... but where it stands out is the amazing donuts...try these you won't be disappointed definitely above average inventive and delicious flavors.... Definitely worth a stop by if you haven't been

Recommended: currently, this is my favorite doughnut place. They have both gluten-free and vegan as well as the old standby-regular doughnuts. The flavors change every month and they are usually themed. For instance, Lemon Meringue Filled, Nerds, S'mores, Piña Colada and Berry Fritter were some for August. The atmosphere is cozy, but limited for seating. They have hot and cold drinks too. If you're not interested in a ton of sugar, they have bagel options as sandwiches. Like the smoked salmon and cream cheese, yum! You really just have to try it yourself. Also, don't wait, sometimes they sell out before closing time.

This is a nice little coffee shop. Good coffee both hot and cold. A variety of teas...although they can't make a caffeine free London Fog...I know, I know...very specific gripe! Service is very good. Place is clean and washrooms are also kept clean. Now, the donuts: OMG! For all kinds of tastes. Always fresh. Pecan Birthday Cake, Oreo, Maple Dip, Plain Glazed, and on and on. Variety is just amazing! Between 3pm and 4pm they are already starting to run low on some of the best donuts. My only complaint (and it's a matter of taste I guess) is that coffee is never as hot as it should be. Luke warm coffee is just not enjoyable. Even asking it to be extra hot only makes it slightly better.
